Reinventing Myself

The podcast features a lively discussion between the hosts and guests Alex and Natalie, centered on everyday life topics and quirky observations. A central theme is Alex’s strict meal-prep routine and refusal to order food when others do, sparking a conversation about shared costs and lifestyle choices. The group proposes a fun, memorable gimmick—Alex wearing a Ken doll mask as a DJ—to boost his visibility and appeal, joking that it could make him instantly recognizable and stand out in the music scene. The conversation expands into deeper reflections on health, with one host expressing an almost obsessive gratitude for being healthy, noting how it’s become a dominant, almost overwhelming focus. Humorous anecdotes follow, including a bizarre encounter with a stranger in Malibu who seemed uninterested in conversation, and a discussion on men’s supposed chivalry, which the hosts dismiss as outdated. The episode also includes a strong recommendation to watch the movie *The Game*, praised for its dramatic tension and realism, and a list of upcoming films the group plans to watch together, including *The Bourne Identity*, *American Made*, and the Batman trilogy. The hosts emphasize the value of shared experiences and community, especially in film nights, and invite listeners to share their thoughts on the movie *The Game* without spoilers. The tone remains light, witty, and self-reflective, blending personal stories with cultural observations and inside jokes.

what's up guys we'll back to views we are back with another episode Natalie is back for this one so you want to skip this one go ahead and Alex is here Jay is here yo this is a big one did you guys miss me yes yes or did you see the comments on our last pod no two people said this was one of the best pods of all time and that wasn't there I think it was just like a I think it was a pod that had everything in it I don't remember what was in it I'm pulling a you right now was it just me and you you didn't think it was a bag yeah I just mean yeah really should just be just me and you I think so I think that's what people want I think it's better well don't worry I want the thing is is the problem with that Dave is you don't like talking to me yeah that is true so it's nice to have Natalie here it reminds me that I'm just hanging out yeah I mean if you would just get into my world a little bit we could have a good pot oh Jay I do like talking to you don't get that wrong okay okay yeah I just I just like what Natalie's here because I think she keeps us straight you know right it gets kind of gay well you do talk about when you talk about jerking off and stuff and that doesn't like that I'm glad Alex is actually here because I wanted to talk to Alex about this Alex is like always like balling on a budget right like he's like he okay so I'm just gonna get straight to the main argument my main argument is he's he's strapped for cash a lot and I'm always telling him I'm always like hey I'm gonna order Chipotle do you want anything and he's like no and then like I'm like we're getting in and out do you want anything like I'm always offering like food all like how often yeah like would you say like every other day every other day okay right because I'm like that's just like just order food with me and then you don't have to pay for food yeah it's like mind blowing to me but he's like so set on like no I have meal prep in the fridge or it's already cooked so it's gonna go to waste but like just like double up just like double up or something like I just don't understand like okay why I'm saying this is this is coming from a guy when I was dating I was making I don't know $30,000 a month I was making really good money good bank yeah but I would still wait for my girlfriend to order Dordash like so I could so I would be like I'm just gonna save some money here piggyback because Dordash especially at the time this is when I was first getting into money like paying for Dordash was and I think this is what Dordash was fairly new yeah just started it was just like it just didn't make any fucking sense right like I'm not swinging them I don't care how much money I'm making wait so would you like physically go to the restaurant or cook something I would just wait till she would order and I'd be like yeah I'll get whatever you're getting and I like like you know I'll tag a lot she ever said anything to you like hey maybe you can get you know I was very open with everybody I'd be like you know I'm just waiting for you to order right like I'm not sure but she probably made the same as you yeah we were making the same amount I bet but she was like big Dordash but you look hungry but it was like it was but this makes me seem like I like when we were drawn to dinner I would always pay right like but for some reason with Dordash I was like can't do that delivery me I try that move is Navine sometimes really yeah why don't you order something I'm like Alex or like with any of my friends now I'm like you should just be waiting to order when I order and like I don't know why you don't jump on it I don't know right now huh I'm hungry right now and yeah this and today was the first time you asked me if I was hungry and I wasn't hungry but it wasn't picking up what you were saying for some reason and then you were like I'm ordering jihad and I'm like oh you're ordering Dordash because Alex will go and pick up the food to save the money yeah which is like obviously yeah you gotta do that all right but yeah I don't know from now on out you just got to figure that out you have to start ordering when I order I don't care is it a pride thing or is it like I want it's not a pride thing oh it's not no it's a I have meal prep thing oh yeah it's just like I'm not in the mood for what you're eating oh right look the heat it's just like I already have the shit in the fridge I don't want to waste it you know you're saying just stop cooking all together so that and then wait for you I'm just saying because a better way to go about it I feel like even if I had meal prep I'd be like oh free meal you I'll use the meal prep for a snack later do you know what I mean like like I don't know give us a specific example like was he ordering fucking I don't know I don't I'm like pretty picky I don't want to like fuck with I don't know like customize my order I should just be able to like okay duplicate whatever you're getting I don't want to do that okay okay whatever how is it how is it falling on a budget um we're falling man why did you mean that I'm falling on a budget is he falling yeah I think I'm just a budget I think it's like a nicer way of saying I got you yeah I got you I thought falling on a budget was like he's like going above his means no listen I this is what I'm telling Alex Alex is like trying to his kickstart his DJ career yeah and I'm like listen like we need to make some serious moves like it's been it's been a couple months since you've been DJing yeah and like we need to make like I told him this I was like playing a story like there's a lot of white guy DJs yeah and unless you're the like the sexiest guy like disco lines it's just it's it's going to be tough to like remember a face yeah so that's why I was like we need to come up with a mask right oh you been pushing this for a while I didn't push so long because if I see a guy in a mask I will immediately remember his music whether I like it or don't like it I will I will associate him with the night I had and like then I started mocking up masks I was like okay so there's so I I went the death punk route but I thought that was a little fucking like pretentious and like who do you think you are to kind of look like cool guy in a mask okay and then I went to like the I went the marshmallow route where I was like like marshmallows really got this like in a box like he's really like owning the I'm a snack and I'm also like really good at music so like I tried like I tried mocking up a mask of where Alex would just be like a jello like a piece of jello and I did like a different types of food and like it just wasn't working and I was also a direct comp direct stealing of marshmallow okay so then I I think I got to the perfect mask turkey like yes no no no like a a doll yeah so like okay not like a Barbie doll but like a Ken doll oh kind of sick right like plastic mask yes kind of under there no every mask has fans now Jay it's fucking 2026 in 2014 when I was the mascot of Cougar high we had fans inside the fucking helmet marshmallow got a fan in there of course marshmallows a fan are you kidding me so yeah I'm thinking like a Barbie head like Ken like Ken or even a Barbie like a girl a girl I think it's really really cool and something where the face could change to kind of scrunch the face to make it like the Barbies like yeah and I really like that idea of like Alex being a Ken doll I just think it's so memorable and I think if we do it the name we've changed the name of rent three I know you can't do Ken you can't like you can't be Barbie associated because like Mattel will come and see what about Teddy it's like a name like Ken I don't know the name is not important the name is really easy but once you're looking like a regular guy from like I don't know I think that's really cool guy guy that's pretty good guys really good it's actually like really smart marketing like rebrand yeah I'm telling you once you look like this guy and I bag Alex I bag Alex I'm like please put on a mask please put on a mask and he's like no people won't see the passion I have like if I don't have a mask and I'm like it's the passion that's scaring everyone away no I'm like I'm like but it doesn't matter everybody's passionate about music whatever who cares yeah like you got we got to remember you Ken doll yeah let's go over now but I keep talking I'm like I like I like you know like this is yeah what do you think well I wish that you would put that much thought and effort into some of our own I put so much I put so much thought into Alex DJ and the way I look at all day doing this yesterday yeah and I spent and I think about it a lot from the point of view like the one thing I will credit myself is I know what's good like I don't know how to get there but once I've said this before once I see it I know that oh I this is gonna work yeah and like I try to think about Alex DJing from a perspective of me wanting to film it there's been very little times where Alex has been DJing and I'm like I want to go film this right and that's any DJ I'm not saying that to Alex I'm saying any guy DJ yeah I don't care to film it's just not exciting there are so many of them yeah but like I think like girl DJs are really interesting because I think it's like really fun and you don't see a lot yeah and I think people and masks are really fucking cool and I think if I saw Alex DJing and like some crazy cool like lifelike Ken mask I'd be like yeah I'm gonna film this guy and I'm gonna want to be closer to the dance floor because I'm be like what what in the fucking like where am I transported right now like what's going on what about clothes what would he wear for clothes I don't know I don't know who's like the good looking guy from Scooby-Doo Fred Fred yeah like like Fred like ask I mean shaggy what the fuck is Steve no no no there's - You're like a good-looking dude. - You're like a blonde guy. - It's Fred. - Fred, yeah, like an ascot and like a v-neck sweater. - I love that. - Yeah. - It's like preppy. - That's something preppy's a really good eye. - Preppy. - And I love those colors, the blue. - I like this idea. - Yeah. You should give this a shot and go by guy. What do you think? - I just think they're so gimmicky. But like, isn't that kind of like, what's like, you have to have a gimmick to get kick started in DJing, right? - Yeah, like, what's your differentiator? - Like, you have to have like, whether it's like, whether you come up with like a gimmicky song, like, it's 9 a.m. on a Tuesday, you know what I mean? Like, I feel like a lot of people enter cool things with a gimmick. I just feel like it's the easiest way to enter seriousness. - I know, yeah. Like, that's the person that, let me take a selfie. Who does that song? - Chase Mokers. - Oh, great. That is like the biggest gimmicky song ever. - Yeah. - And now they're like, that's like, that's a fun song. No, like, I'm sure the Chase Mokers are like, slightly embarrassed of that song. Like, that's not them at all. That was the song that broke them through. But like, their music now is so a little bit more mature. - I think it's so, I think gimmicks are so cool because it's like, it's like, it's like when you do come out with the right song, then people can be like, you know, that's also the Barbie, that guy. - Yeah. - Like, it's just easier to connect it to that guy or like, to that thing. Like, that's the Tesla with the doors that go open. Like, I just bought a Model X, what is that? You know, the Tesla door is that fly open? Like, now you can, now you know exactly what that car is and 'cause now you've referenced it twice. And that's why I think a gimmick is so important 'cause you can reference something for the first time. So, I just think, I think there's a real fucking. - His body language is saying, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. - No, no, he's actually, I'm thinking. - No, he's actually giving a thought. - Yeah, for sure. - Which before he like, wasn't. - Thought it smelled good. - 'Cause I don't think we arrived at the mask yet. I think we're getting closer. But yeah, I mean, I definitely show you guys something. - Yeah, it was also pretty sick. - Can we get to my next question? - Yeah. - Could you imagine how many things like Coca-Cola has, like what dark things have Coca-Cola seen? Do you know what I'm saying? Like a Coca-Cola? - Like a can of Coke. - Yeah, a literal can of Coke has probably been around some really fucking weird shit. Like, I'm talking terrorists. Like Oshama bin Laden. So, Dahl who's saying, have drank Coke. Do you know what I mean? - That is really interesting. - Coca-Cola, a can of Coca-Cola has been in the room while someone's being tortured many, many, many times. - It's a great advertising campaign. - It's kind of scary. - It's seen Dahl Coca-Cola have been there. - It's a real great dictator. - No, I mean, like, genuinely. - 'Cause I had a dream where I was in-- - It's really funny. - Where I was in like a torture camp. This happened last night, and I was in a torture camp. And actually, Natalie was next to me in the bonk. And we were about to be executed. And outside of the camp was a big Coca-Cola banner. And all I was like looking at, I'm like, that's so crazy that that's just like there, while I'm going through this in here. I don't know, it was just like a very bizarre dream. And then I woke up thinking, like, can't imagine how many people like, we're looking at a can of Coke during like a time of distress. - Do you analyze your dream still or no? - No, I think like, who cares? - You think it's all bull shit. - I don't think it's bull shit. I think it's like, like yesterday I went to bed, looking up, have you seen the movie like Walrus or something? - No. - Okay, so it's this guy who gets drugged. And this like serial killer turns him into a walrus. Like reconfigures his entire body, gives him tusks, and makes him look like a full 400 pound walrus, like stitches all over his face, like human centipede, but makes him a walrus. And then he puts him in a zoo, and his friends come and visit him at the zoo. And he's a walrus in the rest of his life. I think that's how it ends. Yeah, it's fucking disgusting. And I knew watching that, that I'm fucked. - Your story was so gross and disgusting. I forgot we were talking about. - A couple of. - Go, go, go, go, yeah. - And like I thought in my head, like as I was watching those TikToks, and that was the last thing I put down, I'm like, oh, this dream's about to be fucking wild. Like whatever's about to happen. - Oh my god. I keep that feeling. - Yeah. So I went to bed with-- - Are you gonna get the new iPhone? - Huh? - You're gonna get the new iPhone? - I'm not like how you just pivoted there all by. - I have a question. - Yeah, what is it? - Do you know Steve Irwin died? - Yeah. - Can you just pivoted? (laughing) - What the fuck? - Well, this is to death. It's a good pivot. You went new iPhone, she went death. - Oh. - Okay, go ahead. - She went. - Yeah, wait, so how did he die? Tell me how he died? - He got stabbed like a million times by the stingray, and blood was bleeding out of his lungs. - Oh, okay, so you do know this. - Okay, 'cause I thought, along with many other people, and I saw a TikTok last year. - They were just electrocuted in the water? - Yeah. - No, no, it was a very painful death. - Yeah, I thought he was just like, you know, like out with a giant stingray or something, swimming, or whatever, and then it just stung him, and then like, you know, he got electrocuted and died in the water, but that's not true. And stingrays actually don't have like electricity running through them, which I didn't know either. - No, it's like really? - But that's what everyone believed. - Everybody knew that. You guys all knew that? - No, I think I learned this a couple months ago, probably also from like a TikTok. That would be an electric heel. - Sure, yeah. - Dude, I found these motivational quotes. These are really good. You think Cinderella gave a fuck that she only had until midnight? No, that bitch went to the ball anyway. Stop waiting for perfect timing. You think Dora knew where the fuck she was going? No, that bitch got lost every episode, but still got their lock-in. (laughing) - Dude, you think Moana knew how to sail? No, she just got in the fucking ocean and figured out on the way. Start before you're ready. - You think the little engine cared that everyone said the hill was too big? No, he said, "I think I can." Delusion works, lock-in. Do you think Humpty Dumpty gave a fuck that he fell off the wall? No, he got the King's entire staff involved. Build a team, lock-in. (laughing) - That's really good. That's the kind of stuff I'm finding out here. You think Ariel had all the details figured out? No, that bitch traded her voice for a chance, committed to the vision. I've been watching, so I have a new movie to recommend for the people that are at home. And this actually had me realize how many things I've incorporated from my childhood that I consumed to how I've made a lot of videos. Have you ever watched the game, the movie, the game? - No, which is the, have you seen it at? I don't think so. Okay, I highly recommend it. It's Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. - Okay. - Have you seen it? - Maybe. - Okay, I highly recommend it. - What's it about? - I don't want to talk. Well, it's this rich guy who for his birthday gets a gift from his brother and it's a game. And it's like, call this number and this is your birthday gift for me to you. That's all I'm going to say. - Okay, I love Sean Penn. - Yeah, Sean Penn is incredible. Have you ever seen, this is one of my favorite clips. You've got to look this up. Look up Sean Penn Bradley Cooper. It's so funny. So it's Louis CK on a podcast. And he's like, have you ever seen actor studio? Where there's a bunch of actors sitting in the audience and they're asking Sean Penn a question? - Yes, I've seen this. - Yeah. And then Louis CK is like, and then the actor will be like, Sean Penn, how do I get to where you are? Like how do I become famous? Like they ask Sean Penn a question about acting. And then Louis CK is like, if you're asking Sean Penn a question, you're never going to be famous. Like no one ever has sat there asking Sean Penn a question and then become famous. And that's a podcast clip. And then it cuts to Bradley Cooper in the audience asking Sean Penn a question. Bradley Cooper is like, I'm a year one actor. I want to be an actor when I grow up. And then it cuts to Bradley Cooper, face fucking Louis CK from American Hustle. And now they're doing a movie together. - They did a movie together. - They did one? - No, Louis CK and Bradley Cooper did a movie together. - I'm saying Bradley Cooper and Sean Penn are now doing a movie together. Bradley Cooper is now a famous actor that asks Sean Penn that question. And Louis CK was like, I want to be actor will never become famous after asking Sean Penn a question. And that's exactly what happened. - No, I know, but now Sean Penn is directing Bradley Cooper in a movie. - Oh, is that like a new fun fact? - Yeah, yeah. - Oh, okay. - You're like, no, it's fucking Louis CK. - There was. - I saw a great movie Saturday night. - Yeah. - So fucking good. - You were funny texting me. - Oh my God. - Jason was giving me like weird like dad updates. - First I texted him, just say hey, how you doing? - He said, hey, how's your weekend, Dave? Hope you're maxing and relaxing. It's kind of interesting because that statement, hope you're maxing and relaxing has been around since like the 70s. But now we flipped it. Now it would be relaxed. - I thought the same thing. I was made a little maxing joke. - Yeah, it'd be a relaxed maxing. - Yes. - Hope you're relaxed, maxing. - Yeah. - We're gonna go see that movie Tony tonight. I'll let you know how it is. I said, thank you, have fun. He sends me exclamation points. And then he sends me a text the next day. Tony was the best movie I saw, you'd hate it, I think. (laughing) - Actually, I thought about it, I think you'd like it. - What's the movie about? - Okay, so you know Anthony Bourdain is, right? - Yeah. - Okay, so he, Anthony Bourdain wrote this book called Kitchen Confidential. It's all about how he worked in New York kitchens and it was a chef. - Was this whole thing traveling the world and eating? - Later in life, he got the show, yeah. - Okay, how long did he do that for? 'Cause that is all I know Anthony Bourdain for is the guy who traveled the world was eating good food and killed himself. - Yeah, at the age of 43, he published Kitchen Confidential and then maybe for the next 17 years before he killed himself. He had the show and he traveled and why did he kill himself? Did he leave a no? I don't know There's a lot of conspiracies about it, but I guess it's like a conspiracy of why he would do that Yeah, that he was being blackmailed or stuff like that. Oh And his his um girlfriend went up against Harvey Weinstein. I know that Wow, there's like a lot of yeah because Dave's the reason I know all this is Dave Chappelle. Yeah, that joke is so good where he's where he's like Anthony Bourdain had the best life. Yeah, and he still killed himself. It doesn't sound like a joke, but they're missing a part Which is his friend was 40 lost everything and wife took everything and he works at footlocker Oh, and and my friend never once thought to kill himself. Oh, that was it. Yeah, but anyway, but Anthony Bourdain had the best life And he's yeah, and he comes oh But anyway, the movie they did something really cool in the movie, which is they don't show the days when Anthony was a great chef They show him when he's nobody and he's not a chef And he's just working on Cape Cod like trying to meet a girl. How do they have that footage? Oh, no, it's a scripted movie. Oh So it's just like becoming Anthony Bourdain Yeah, but it's so cool like I think you would relate to it in the way that you're like kind of you always roll it's Tony Anthony is the young young Yeah, the way you romanticize like moving LA and being nobody. Yeah, he's nobody in the movie and also the movie shows something where He's like he's an asshole Like you never show they you never see the lead character being an absolute asshole. He's a liar He's a fucking awful to people. He started rooting for him in the movie, but you're rooting for him He's picking fights. He's like supposed to be like 20 years old, you know in the movie I get confused in movies when you don't know who to root for Like what's that movie? We were recently watched where I was like I was I suppose Scarface Scarface. Yes, that was tough for me Because I was like am I supposed to be rooting for this guy right because it was there was a star Yeah, there wasn't really a moment where he was like even like Charming likable. Mm. That's why I was like this isn't Wolf of Wall Street We're like to Caprio. I'm like kind of charmed by his like hmm weird ambition and like excitement Scarface was like I didn't even know I was really confused in the night. No, you know, maybe it was a different time I keep talking about Scarface negatively. I don't like it. I'm sorry I've been having like kind of like a crisis You ever like like I'm like a hypochondriac that's built over the last like 10 years like it's gotten worse and worse As I as I think about it more yeah, it consumes me and like now it's starting to consume me I think I may need to go see hypnotist or something just to fucking shake this but like The that sentence like of when you're sick all you're thinking about is being healthy Yeah, and like now when I'm healthy All I'm thinking about is like how lucky am I to be healthy. I'm so so so lucky and I'm so grateful. Yeah And I'm just it's unimaginable to me that I am so healthy Sure, and it's like killing me. I don't know how to explain it. Oh, I'm like this is this doesn't it feels too good to be true Like you'd the fear of being sick is worse than actually being sick like you'd rather be sick. No, no, I would not rather be sick. I'm just saying like It's just I know exactly what you're saying really yeah, explain it. I mean like you know, I like this is how you perceive all of life Yeah, yeah, like you know how I you know like playing and stuff. Yeah, but like at my core when I'm like riding around in my car I'll have these moments where I'm like oh My god, I can't believe I'm not sick like I can't but I don't have cancer. I can't believe I'm like not in the hospital I'm like so fucking lucky like if you took everything from me You're like oh Jay like you know, you can't podcast anymore and you're broke and you have to fucking Hall be homeless if I was healthy anything. I'd be like even my anything anything over health or like yeah Number one number one, but that's why it's so crazy. Number one because health is such a number one. Huh? What health is number one? I know we said the same thing Or I think about my mom. She's alone in her apartment in Boston. She's health. She's got her health. Yeah Yeah, sort of no, no, well, she's old. Yeah, but she's doing good. Yeah, yeah, like that. That's amazing. I call it How is how is today's like fucking amazing? I'm a lot. We like drove by a hospital in Chicago and like it said something on I don't remember exactly what it said on the windows, but it was like what a privilege it is to be healthy. Oh, yeah Oh, and like I thought I thought that was a really crazy thing credible for it to be on a hospital Because it's like people that are coming near it or not. So I was like that's kind of a weird thing To put there and it's really scary, but like I don't know. It's been that thought's been really scaring me like how Like lucky we are just to be healthy. Yeah, and then everything else like all the other awesomeness that we have is the cherry on top, but like it like dolls in comparison to like health, which is kind of I don't know I don't know So I've been going down this rabbit hole of those thoughts and it's getting more and more extreme where it's like starting to consume my days Where I'll literally I won't move some I'll just be in bed and I'll be like let me just stay here and just like Bask in this health and not move Like I don't want to I don't want to do anything to jeopardize it. That's how you become not healthy. I know I know and it's like and it's and it's it's it's it's fucking me in reverse I'm like I'm not gonna go out today. I'm gonna go to a restaurant. I don't want to touch anything out like in the restaurant Definitely not going out to meet people and I remember on the last podcast I said I need it. I want to start going out just to train my immune system Yeah, and this is kind of like in the same realm of things I'm just like I've just like so grateful to be here. I don't want to move It's really funny because all week and I I was thinking about you and And I say to Naveen. I'm like, what are days doing? What are days doing? And then I'm like, oh, that's what you're doing But in my mind I was like, oh, he's probably like at the club with Alex He's probably like playing pickleball with someone famous, but no, you're in bed No, yeah, yeah, I don't know, but then I go out and then like I'll like see somebody that's like fucking I Don't know out five days in a row on below and like I've seen them for the last 10 years just operate Like without or without like a fucking Without a hiccup. I'm like, what are you doing? How are you doing? They do have hiccups? You just don't know right? Okay. Yeah Yeah, how are you back? I've been in the hospital three times. I know whatever you're whatever your hiccup is like How are you still back out here? It's like fucking chuggy line. It's just like really confusing. I don't know I don't really know what the point is. Yeah, I don't know how to fix it I think I just have to go see him just because it kind of it kind of is like kind of an annoying thing to To think about it kind of fucks me up. You know what's funny? I went to I went to that birthday in Malibu, you know last week or whatever it was Yeah, and you can't get late because it's a narrow way This was so funny. I was thinking about this and at the end of the night I got an uber for me my girlfriends to obviously uber back here and it's a long fucking uber There's not many ubers out there so everyone's kind of standing on the side of the road like Trying to whatever figured out. I walk up to my uber and there's this guy It's like 30 something year old guy and it's like nice little Malibu outfit talking to my driver and I'm like, hey, what's up? and He looks at me as or I said, hey, this is like my car or something like that and he looks at me Doesn't say anything looks back at the driver and goes whatever. She's paying. I'll double it And I have like six girls behind me and I thought this was this was so like quintessentially like the men that I'm surrounded by in LA So this guy that you stroke up conversation with is a random guy. I didn't even see him at the part. I don't know who he is Just like turned on you, but no, he my uber was that mine was the only uber that had been there And I think everybody else is waiting 20 30 minutes for their uber. I just got lucky and mine came really quick I must have ordered it before everybody. It's really fucking weird. It's disgusting. How fucking crazy is gross? Thank you. That is really especially to do it to a girl that's stranded out in Malibu. I know I thought there was the most And let me and are you on pch where the cars are like? Just a little shit off of pch. Yeah, that's that's dangerous in itself just standing on pch Yeah, it's down there like serial killer. No, it was so fucking the way he looked at me it looked away Look back at the driver and then I and then I turned to him and I was like whatever he's paying. I'll triple it Get in the fucking car and then he was like you're right you're right you win and I was like I win. I think this is my car There's just like I don't know. What are the uber? How do the uber respond? He was like I'm taking the girls like there was like no question Then he could naps you guys My friend Chana got traffic, but I don't know how to talk about it, but I got home Anyways, all of those like such a crazy experience and like such a staple Example of like how so many men are just like chivalry is kind of dad. It's not like that though. No, no, no Your days days real I'm saying when I leave David and I go or our friends when she's not under the protection of a real man That's why you don't you shouldn't be out there now. I can't right do far from the next. No, no, no, I got you I will always I'm like ladies. Where are you going? He would push your way in Yeah, that is yeah, you want to glandale that's not far No chivalry chivalry or chivalry Sounded out Chivalry is dead global warming is here Shivering Yeah, okay. Sorry. I know I brought up the game earlier. Okay, everyone should watch it. Please tell me what you think Watch it. This is a podcast Movie recommendation watch the game the movie is I could say this without spoiling what the game is Is the guy doesn't know what the game is mm. So he's like you're signing this up It's you're signing up for this. It's a life-changing thing Mm-hmm and the reason it's the reason it's fired a lot of videos is like when we prank Brandon with the earthquake happening It was very similar to that and then it got me thinking of other pranks I set up I like setting up a prank where you tell the person what you're gonna do and then the person's like What are you talking about? How is that gonna work and there's this one clip? I lost of Ilya from about eight years ago and I'm like so bummed that I've lost it Because when we were when we were like 21 this is like peak of me blogging. I was I actually I was like because he's terrified to this day of Skydiving and I was like in the next 30 years Can I get you to skydive and you won't know how I'm gonna get you to do it And he's like, yeah, how would you possibly do that if you're telling me right now? I'm like you're not gonna know when it happens But I need your permission right now that I'm going to get you to jump out of a plane And I'm so pissed. I lost that clip because that would be such a fun vlog to do Right now and I may have talked about this on the pod before like a really long time ago But yeah, so like that's a completely kaput But like how fun would that be we should refill them now just in case I know and I should do like I should do like 10 of them To like a bunch of different people. I should like get everyone's like Biggest fears. Yeah, yeah, like could I do this to you? I think it's like so fun Yeah, and I think yeah, I'm like how I would do the airplane I have still not decided, but it's obviously would have to be like We'd have to like dress up either a 737 or we'd have to you know We'd have to move you if we'd have to fix it, you know the engine would have to start smoking the pilot would have to jump the actor pilot would have to jump And then like a bunch of people would have to do yeah, you'd have to do a lot of people would have to start jumping Or maybe you're on a military AC-130 and people like that plane's going down Maybe we're filming a vlog over like I don't know. I don't know So yeah, really that's like that's a vlog that I've been wanting to get done that is now We'll not be able to get done because I've lost sight of it. No one feels like it might be for the best No, cuz Ilya would love it Ilya would love it. But like how do you get him even if you're like on an AC-130 like you don't have to jump out of the plane But if it's going down cuz like you go down a little, right? You like kind of create the drama of it And then you have the pilot come out and you go we have to jump and especially nowadays I wouldn't even have to be recording it like that's what was tough about like things like the earthquake prank Like we convinced bread and there was an earthquake by like the news channel playing earthquake Fall whatever or whatever it was and then we had 30 extras outside packing their cars like the San Andreas fault has ruptured That's the difficult part of that was I was holding a camera the entire time It's like that's really tough, but like nowadays. I don't even have to be holding a camera like it could be like, you know Yeah, or the like the pilots can have like police officer cameras like on there Other person like it's a very easy thing to film now where it doesn't even have to be like that anymore. Oh, yeah I don't know maybe maybe if I dig deep enough I could find that clip Do you see the Nathan Fielder movie coming out the documentary? No, can you explain it to me? Yeah, there's this woman Elizabeth Holmes because I've been seeing like a lot of the scent Don't know who she is. She's like she was like a big Wellness person in like 2010 she had like a big company and then I guess I think she like stole a lot of money And so Nathan Fielder's following her for 34 days before she goes to jail Which is just like but it turned into like two three years of filming with her. Oh, I thought it was just 34 days Yeah, I thought it was just the 30 days before she went to jail. Oh really, but it ended up like being like a two three year thing of them putting it together But fucking god bless Nathan Fielder man. He is so unique and so like beyond Anyone like you would think like well, it's always the funniest guys. Yeah, or girls can pull off like it's Sasha Baron Cohen, right does the same shit But Sasha Baron Cohen is doing the same thing. He's always done, you know make people laugh But this is just like so fucking out there. What are you talking about like when he did what is it called that America movie? Which one where he was like busting like the governor and getting them to say the most crazy Yeah, yeah, that's that's in the vein of of Borad It's in the vein of algae. Yeah, but it's still like him like taking like a serious approach to like something now Yeah, yeah, this is how Nathan Fielder's doing, but this is like Nathan Fielder's like following this woman this real in this real life drama Oh, okay, is he not is he being funny in it? You know, it's that it's that I think it's that like awkward funny, right? Which is very similar to the port now. Yeah, I guess I guess I guess I mean my favorite Nathan Fielder memories We've talked about it here, but you were you there? No when I was with Jonah no at the movie theater. What happened Nathan Fielder was going up The escalator going to see a movie and Jonah stopped him. Oh god. I thought that was Joe Napato No, it's Nathan Fielder. Oh, it's Nathan Fielder and he did stop Judd Apatot too. Oh, okay I wonder if that was out of movie he does he has Judd Apatot of fly-in somewhere What was it? I don't know if that doesn't stuff. He's out but Nathan Fielder. He's like I have a short film. I want to pitch you At the movie theater when Nathan's by himself and I was like please do not do this And he's like I have to this is my opportunity. I'm like this isn't fucking this isn't TikTok like it's not just like go shoot your shot Edit where it's like you'll never it's not like that like you have to respect this guy It's fucking crazy to walk up to him and I'll leave her pitch in a movie theater. Yeah, but he didn't anyway Yeah, Navita and I met him once he was really nice. Really? Yeah, no, he was nice to Jonah about it But I'm like you know that's not gonna like that's not how things work The best is when you have something to say that we and we had something to say we had just seen something He did and so and no one had seen it It's like he was like he was like he was watching it. We're like yeah, it's great Something to say is tricky though. It's a really specific like one guy I've learned one guy walked up to me The other day and was like was like in he's a friend of a friend. Yeah, and he introduced himself to me and he goes I'm blah blah blah and I'm like I'm David and he goes what do you do for a living right and I'm like oh internet stuff and he was totally joking Oh Bit and he's like oh, I thought that would land better and I'm like what like Do you mean what's complimentary towards you? He knows who you are. Yes, it is Yeah, I think that's different than having I think that's different than what Jason saying I mean like if I met you and I admired you Yeah, I would I would be like if I really knew I thought it was just like a funny thing cuz I'm like You know, there's like more than majority of people don't know what I do, right? So right yeah, he yeah, I answer that question a lot But if I were to I then I then then I felt bad because I'm like oh now I've ruined his experience with me And now I know this is gonna be twisted in this you know, I mean now in his head he'll be he's 1000% guaranteed in his head if someone asks me about him. He's gonna go. He's an asshole 1000% because that bit didn't land I just know I know how people work and I know that's going to happen and like that's fine That's just like the price of the job But like I feel bad because like and if I would have reacted the way he wanted to like You don't know who I am like you don't I mean I don't even know how to plan to that But if I did that would have made me a double asshole to anybody else like around in the room So that's it's an impossible question to like that's unlike you I would think you'd be like more on the ball there and just like smooth it over because you're very good No, no, I did yeah, no, no, it wasn't awkward. Okay, but like I just like thought about it there after and I'm like That's just like so funny because it's so unfortunate that it didn't go like I don't know. I just you know, I mean, I don't know No, I get it. I felt bad If I were to meet you and like I wanted to talk to you. I'm trying to think what I would say If I like admired you and saw you at a party I'd probably like try to pull out like a deep cut. I was gonna say I feel like it's honestly just as simple as just like having For like a recent video. Oh, just being like oh, I watch just the fact that if somebody came up to him was like I watched the last vlog The Africa was amazing or whatever. I feel like that's like so easy and so good because now you're like Oh that person just like actually fucks with my shit You know what you know it gets me going actually when people listen to the pod Shut up. Oh, yeah, that's true. Really? I'm a podcast listener fuck you You like wasting your time you fucking No, no, no, that's that's because that is not like a like I watch your vlogs growing up or I watch your vlogs Like that's like more basic, but like podcast listeners like whoa. This is cool. Oh, yeah This is like a person that's like more intimate. That's true. And then like I actually I'm like, oh you actually like no No, sometimes sometimes it's really interesting when like Someone will be like I'm like a really big fan of the vlogs. I'm like, oh no way like zanes right here Or like I'll be like Jason's right here. Yeah, I know who and then I'll see you click that they don't know and I'll be like oh fuck okay, so like But that one is some of this podcast. Yeah, I know that I could reference like anybody and they'll know because it's like it's all talk about your butthole because like Yeah, cause you could like anybody like if I'm if I meet Try to think of an actor Amy Adams. Yeah, okay I'm trying to go like really like just actress Yeah, but like if I saw her I'd walk up to her be like I'm such a big fan But like that's not I'm not like you don't yeah We're not actually like a majority of people that walk up to me and say hello. Yeah have seen Zero to one vlog and I've just heard my name and I'm maybe taking a picture for a friend or just cuz like just like a random Siting but when they don't know who you are and you explain you tell them who you are and then you're about to leave and they're like I'll get a picture That happened in Chicago to follow yeah, yeah, that's really funny guys. You talk about this on the pie. I don't think so Like we all went in to totally you guys were there and So of course this older guy's like what's going on? He goes what's going on here? And I go, oh he's a famous youtuber cuz people are taking pictures. Yeah, people are taking pictures a lot of kids are Yeah, this guy's like my age. Yeah He's like what's going on here? And I'm like, oh, he's a famous youtuber and he goes, oh, what are you doing here? I work with him. He's like, oh, okay, okay. I'm like, yeah, I just went over to the high school He just loves this town so much. He's like, well, it's a pretty great place to loop All right, well, we'll see you and then I was walking out. I was like, hey, can I grab a thicker real quick? That's really funny Another one was there was uh There was ten of us getting ready to go out go on the flight. Yeah, and someone asked someone's like, can I do a picture? Wait, oh, yeah, yeah, and I was standing up and I'm like, yeah, let's do it and he goes, can I do it the whole crew? and Everyone was sitting down and there was dead ass ten of us, right? Yeah, yeah, and I'm like Like I don't like I don't want to just like direct our whole friend group to stand up So I'm like, uh, I don't know and he goes, well, it's up to them. Hey guys. Oh my god. You said I saw that whole interaction You were like, yeah, you we can try. Yeah, I said we can try I was like everybody's doing their own thing everyone's in their own conversation I'm like and then yeah, I think he got like four of us Yeah, you got like half the group, but also half the people we wanted pictures with like Like Brooks. No, no to get up. Not Brooke. Uh, Halley. Halley doesn't know to get up and take a photo Yeah, like four people were like, yeah, like our like employees that work in half So I was like, do you want everybody? And yeah, that's kind of the situation where like I don't even think he'd really knew who I was he was just like group of people They must vlog Take photo now. It's really funny. You're gonna get the new iPhone? The flip Uh, no, I really want it, but I don't think the cameras go enough. Oh really? Yeah, what do you mean? It's worse Yeah, I think the back camera the flip doesn't have as good of a phone So only the flip doesn't have as good of a camera Oh projected possibly from the leaks as their new iPhone 18 It only has two cameras instead of three. I don't know what that affects. It isn't it weird that they're like eight years behind Well like eight years behind in the flip department. Yeah Shouldn't that have come out like so long ago Well, you know, they say like apple hasn't innovated that much since oh, yeah, Steve's passing but also like Are you watching this show the audacity? No, it's so good. Why it's fucking a special TV Best show on TV. Oh my god. It's so good. It's basically it's it's all these billionaires in Silicon Valley And they're all like trying to steal money from each other and it's it's it's kind of like that show Silicon Valley But much better and and more dramatized. It's so good Definitely worth watching. No, can we watch it? Oh, why you'll like it. Oh, we have such a long list What's on your list? She like showing them to people love showing them Yeah, the game was the most stressed out. I've been watching a movie with people Julia went to go like make a snack in the fucking kitchen.
