This episode explores three deeply unsettling stories involving people who exhibit creepy, manipulative, or abusive behaviors in personal relationships. The first story involves a man writing a domestic thriller about his sister-in-law, using her traumatic high school experiences as a plot device to psychologically torture her, revealing a disturbing pattern of emotional manipulation. The second story centers on a cousin’s husband who attempted to buy explicit photos of his wife’s cousin, leading to a family conflict where the cousin’s religious sensibilities are exploited and the husband is condemned as a creep. The third story involves a husband taking his friends to a party where men pay women to eat grotesque, filmed food, described as dehumanizing and potentially illegal, with the husband allegedly hiding the event to test his wife’s reaction. All three cases highlight emotional abuse, manipulation, and violations of personal boundaries. The community responds with strong support for the victims, emphasizing that such behavior crosses moral and psychological lines. A final real-life case of a professor attempting to murder a student by breaking into her home with a threatening tape underscores how obsession and trauma can lead to extreme violence. These stories collectively illustrate how creeps often blend secrecy, emotional manipulation, and exploitation, creating deeply damaging rifts in personal and familial bonds. The episode concludes with a call for victims to speak up, assert their boundaries, and seek support, emphasizing that emotional safety is as vital as physical safety.
Hi, everyone. It's Vanessa Richardson. Real quick before today's episode, I want to tell
you about a show I host with forensic psychologist Dr. Tristan Engels. It's called Serial Killers
and Murderous Minds. Every Monday and Thursday, we take you deep into the psychology of the
most chilling murderers and uncover what drives them to kill. Follow Serial Killers and Murderous
Minds, available wherever you listen to podcasts. This is Crime House.
My professor tried to kill a student. One week, he was lecturing to us, and the next,
his picture was on the front page of our local paper. Lawrence was awakened at about 3 a.m.
by someone strangling her. The assailant was playing a
tango, and he was trying to kill a student. He was trying to kill a student. He was trying to
tape recording of someone saying, I'm going to kill you. I'm on the edge of my seat. That's
crazy. The details are crazy.

Hello.
This week, we've each pulled stories from Reddit, the most incredible ones you could find.
We did it.
And the theme for this week's episode, they're just the creeps.
People who give us the creeps. We also have a story pulled from you guys on our subreddit
at the very end.
Yeah. And honestly,
I'm impressed with how active our subreddit has been.
Yeah.
I'm a little afraid to tell everyone that I have joined.
I think we should tell people we've joined because then they'll be less mean because they know
we're participating and seeing all the comments.
I have to say, I had my husband read it first. I was like,
can you read it to make sure there's nothing that's going to send me into a spiral right now?
Yeah, smart. If you want to be mean about us,
create a different subreddit and do it there where we're not reading it.
Yeah, call it We Hate Crimes of Reddit pod.
Or maybe just be nice to people. And if you do,
if you don't like listening, go listen to something else. I don't know.
Sabrina, this is Reddit.
I know, but this right here is a beautiful community of butterflies and ponies and raspberries.
And now I'm thinking of raspberries and cream.
I can take the criticism. Make the subreddit.
I read everything. I have to.
You do?
Yeah. I can't help it. I'm sick in the head.
It's a sickness.
It is a sickness. But we are really excited about how engaged you all are
in the comments of our YouTube videos.
On social media and also on the subreddit.
So please keep sharing stories and confessing things to us.
Yeah, because really, it's working because we are sharing one of your stories today.
Yeah. We also, we were just talking during our lunch break today
about how we want to do like a theme of an episode where it's like
crazy interactions with celebrities.
Blind items.
Yeah.
Celebrity crimes.
Yeah. Truly, there's the, what's the line from Mean Girls?
The limit is, the limit does not exist.
The limit does not exist.
Wow. All right. Good thing you're starting first because I think I need a minute for my brain to
catch up to my mouth.
Yeah, we did just have a little rest, so.
And I haven't heard the stories that Alexis has for today. And Alexis has not
heard the stories or read the stories that I have for today. So we're going to be reacting
blind to one another's and asking all the questions that maybe you're asking while
listening at home or while you're driving, wherever you're driving to.
Hell yeah.
Should we do it?
Let's do it.

Before we get into the first story, we do want to give a content warning. There are mentions of
sexual harassment, sexual harassment, sexual harassment, sexual harassment, sexual harassment,
possible stalking, and obsessive behavior. So be advised. Let's get into our first story. You
ready? Yeah. What do you have? All right. Like we said, we're talking about creeps. Yes. People
in our lives walking among us, the weirdos. There are way more than I would like there to be.
I know. So we're talking about some big ones today. Okay. So would I be the asshole for
telling my sister about her husband's creepy as fuck novel about me? What? Yeah. Okay.
Okay.
The original poster says this. I made a new throwaway account to post this
because I'm wildly conflicted. So you know it's going to be good when they had to make
a sock puppet Reddit just to spell. A secret, secret Reddit account.
Right. Yeah. Backstory. My sister, four years younger than me, and her husband have been
married for about two years together for five. My now brother-in-law and I dated during high school
and it ended under circumstances that were not ideal. Wait, that's already a weird situation.
As to gals with sisters. Yeah. Would this ever happen in your family? Literally never. Literally
never. Never. I wouldn't even date someone my sister like winked at. Right. But in this
situation, the original poster dated the man first. And to say that things didn't end well
makes me feel like the sister should not have dated this guy. No. If things didn't end well.
Wait, this just brought up my, well, my very first,
his name is Guido. What? Yeah. And the way he asked me out, this is not the story I wanted to
tell, but it's just my, he, the way he asked me out was he can't, he sent a friend to come ask if
I was Italian. And if, because I said yes, then he was like, okay, do you want to date Guido?
Anyway, are you Italian? I am Italian. But not a lot. Oh, well, my mom would like to say I'm 50%
because she's a hundred percent, but I'm like 32%. Okay. But the story I was going to say is
my first like real boyfriend in sixth grade, Dylan,
I made a look, Dylan literally overheard, like so out of like a movie overheard him at his locker.
Our lockers were right next to each other. My locker door was open. So he didn't know I was
there. Heard him telling his friends. He was literally only dating me to get to my sister.
Yeah. Cruel. Yeah. And I haven't had a healthy relationship since, you know,
those formative years. Yeah. But my sister never dated him and would never have dated him. No.
Yeah. Delusional Dylan. Anyways, brother-in-law and I have
not gotten along since he and my sister got together. My sister essentially believes I'm
jealous of her for marrying my quote, one who got away. Parentheses, he is not that. So our
relationship, meaning original poster and sisters has also suffered as a result. Well, it sounds
like they already had a strained relationship. You'd have to do something like this. Yeah.
Yeah. This whole situation is already fucked up. And yes, I'm pretty sure it's putting my therapist's
through college, but that's not the problem right now. Recently, brother-in-law has begun
reaching out to me more frequently. I've been very cautious, but after talking it over with
people in my own life, chose to be more friendly toward him as part of an attempt at repairing
certain aspects of my relationship with the entire family. Okay. So if I'm reading between
the lines here, it sounds like this rift with the brother-in-law and sister has caused a wider rift
in the broader family. In the family. Yeah. Which sucks. It does suck. Last week,
My brother-in-law asked if I would read a book he had written with the underlying implication that I would help him career-wise with his aspirations as a writer. Out of politeness and curiosity, I said sure, thinking I would perhaps get a good laugh out of it and a story to tell my publishing friends. The book.
Okay, that makes it seem like he, okay, because I was like, why would he ask her? But if she has publishing friends, I could see why it doesn't feel weird that he's asking her to read a book.
Yeah. The book is about us, meaning original poster and brother-in-law. I don't know how else to put it. It's a, quote, domestic thriller.
so think gone girl, you, etc., about a man who realizes he has married the wrong sister,
air quotes, and becomes obsessed with his sister-in-law. It's one of the weirdest things
I've ever seen. It doesn't exactly read like a manifesto, more like something you'd see on
the subreddit men writing women, but aspects of the story were deeply unsettling to me personally,
touching on things that happened to me in high school and later, and I don't understand why he
would give this to me to read, unless he wanted to either creep me out, or, as in the story,
he intends to leave my sister and wanted to see if this would, ellipses, Jesus, it's too weird to
say, open a door with me, question mark. I know. Insidious, really. Yeah, this is messy. I,
why not just have your sister read the book? Right. Be like, hey, sis,
want to see what your husband's writing?
Is there an update? Yes. Well, she talks through that possibility.
Okay. She says this, here's how I'm conflicted. People have always used art as a form of
cathartic healing. If a stranger handed me this book, I'd just say not my taste and move on. That
said, this is my sister's husband, and I found certain elements so skin-crawlingly uncomfortable
that I almost didn't finish it. I can't believe she even fucking read it. I really can't.
Curiosity kills the cat. I'm the cat.
I guess.
I just don't have the attention span for something like this.
I also think part of me would be like, I can't read to read how terribly this is, you know?
If you hated someone, it would be fun to read something they wrote.
Yeah, how bad it is. Yeah.
Yeah. That also said, this is my sister's husband, and I'm afraid, based on the past,
that if I tell her about this, she will flip out on me and not him, and or if she confronts him,
will he just lie about this whole thing? And on the off chance that it's more than just
tasteless catharsis, I don't want my sister to get,
turned into a skin suit. Meaning, like, she's worried that this could potentially, like,
she's worried something bigger is at play here, that there's, like, a real disturbance with this
guy. Because I'm like, that's a leap. Because it would be one thing if he wrote this book,
and it is, like, a catharsis of, or just an expression of, oh, I, a thought, a thought
exercise of, like, what if? And then he never shared it with anyone. But the fact that he
asked Original Poster to read it feels very. Very, very intentional and, hey, nudge, nudge, hint, hint, I like you, I want to be with you.
Right. Right. So, Original Poster went to dinner and came back and made a post and said, wow,
I came back to a lot more replies than when I left. I'm figuring out a way to move forward
right now, thanks to everyone who's commented. I've read them all. So, let's go through some
of these comments because people bring up some interesting points.
Okay.
One commenter says, I don't have a judgment here, but have you thought about asking him
if your sister's read it or asking her? If she reads it and doesn't feel weird about
it, or if he isn't bothered by the idea of you and her talking about it, then I would
feel a little more confident that you're reading too far into these coincidences. This girl
is not reading into these coincidences.
I agree. But I do think the commenter makes a good point because if he is singling her
out and she's the only one who has read it, it doesn't. It doesn't make her feel more purposeful, whereas he's hiding it. But if he has had
his wife, her sister read it, it feels like he's not really hiding it.
A hundred percent. I just like people, especially adults, are always saying they didn't mean
it like that or you're reading too into it. People are not stupid. People know exactly. Some people are stupid.
Even stupid people in a situation like this would know exactly what they're doing.
Yeah.
If they did it in high school and he has personal knowledge of her, traumatic things that happen
to her.
And he's put that in this book. It's to provoke her in some way. It's to do something. I just
don't believe anything like that's innocent. Now, one Redditor had a very interesting idea
for how to cover her ass if she wanted to talk to the sister about it and if they try
to flip it on her.
Okay.
Which I thought was just interesting. So the user wrote, write her a letter and date it,
but don't give it to her. Also, save this Reddit post. If in the future she does find
out and decides to go ape shit on you and thinks you're reading too far into it, then
there's no reason for defending yourself. Staying quiet isn't believable. Show her this
post. Give her the letter. This covers your ass and shows that you've been feeling the
exact way since the moment he handed you the book.
Yeah, but I understand that, but I feel like if the sister were to get pissed off, she's
just going to be pissed off.
Your sister doesn't like you.
She married your ex.
Who it didn't end well with.
There's drama there that we don't know about.
Yeah. So another suggestion from a commenter was, why not ask them to dinner and talk to
them both about the book then? That way he can't get mad.
Twist things when your sister confronts him. That's assuming things are in a good enough
place that she'd go to dinner with you.
As a outsider, I love the idea of an awkward dinner for other people, so I like this idea.
I wouldn't do it. I hate awkward situations.
But I personally would not do it.
I hate confrontations.
Yeah.
I, no.
But that's what I'm saying as an outsider. Like, I would love to be sitting at the table
next to them listening in.
Yeah, absolutely. Now, here's another one. As weird and tough as this whole situation is,
your sister probably won't be able to get over it.
Your sister probably deserves to know that her husband is probably planning on leaving
her or at least no longer really in love with her. And regardless of how strained your relationship
with her is, I want to believe she'll be on your side if you make it clear how uncomfortable,
disgusted you are.
And even if she didn't understand, the relationship's already strained. So why not just be open
and be like, hey, this happened. I might be reading into it, but I feel like I need to
express how I'm feeling about it to you because you have a right to know. Even if your sister
gets pissed off at you, at least she then has the information.
Yeah. And at one point, the original poster does, like, explain the book, and it is really
dark. It is really, really dark.
Like, what happens?
I think she's really downplaying the idea that he just, like, brought up some personal
things from high school. So in the story, the brother-in-law character attempts to leave
my sister for me in a fit of rage. Sister either accidentally kills or purposely murders
me. It wasn't really clear. And so he begins trying to find out what's going on. And then
he begins trying to arrange the same very specific traumatic incident I went through
as a teenager to happen to the sister in hopes that it will make her psychologically become
me, the sister he really wants. So basically, the sister being left murders the sister the
husband really wants. And the husband's like, OK, I only have this sister left, so I'm going
to traumatize her the same way that the one I wanted was so that she becomes, like, the
one I wanted.
Is it bad that I would totally read that book?
It's kind of creative.
It's fucked up.
It's fucked up.
But it's, like, it's really dark.
Yeah.
It's really dark. And it's, like, in a weird way, the subtext is, like, I want her to be
like you.
She continues and says, it's psychological torture porn, basically. It's fucking creepy,
not least because it's written from a completely uncritical POV without much room for interpretation.
The psycho is the hero, and in the end, he succeeds. It's pretty dark, and it was unbelievably
unsettling to read. Do I think this is something he'd do in real life? I mean, unlikely. The
movie quality, if the Lifetime movie were written and directed by Ramsey Bolton. It honestly
crossed my mind that the whole thing might have been an elaborate troll attempt to freak
me out because it literally uses my personal source of trauma as a plot device. But 150,000
words is a massive amount of effort to troll someone.
I mean, either way, it is invasive, for sure, using what actually did happen to her that
he knows is traumatic, and then forcing her to read it. It's mean-spirited.
Yeah.
And, you know, as a result, because people, I think she really undersold how weird it was
in her original post. And, you know, the comments really reflect that. Like,
one commenter says, holy shit, give her the book, tell your immediate circle, tell your parents,
get security cameras. Like, that's really strange. And also stop communicating with him at all.
I totally disagree with everyone telling you to give him feedback or ask him about it.
People are saying, yikes, yikes. I just physically backed away from my monitor.
The fact that he asked you to read it.
Suggests that he's wanting to creep you out, or at least get some sort of reaction from you.
Yeah, I don't like him.
It's really weird because it's like, it's weaponizing intimate information he had from
when they were in a relationship. It's secretive behind his wife's back. It's driving the wedge
between these two siblings in a rift already, deeper. Like, it's all very insidious. And
being framed as something like, oh, I want feedback on my book. It's a lot darker than that.
Is there any update?
As to where, like, do we have a current update? Do we know where they are?
Everybody asked, please update us. Please update us. Please update us. But let's see.
No. Yeah. No updates after that.
Damn.
Which isn't good. And people were begging, begging for updates.
That's the hard thing with Reddit.
She did say this was a throwaway Reddit account because she didn't want anyone in her real circle
like seeing this. And honestly, it's like she could have just backed away from this. Like,
it's a traumatic situation.
Yeah.
Or maybe she's like, oh, I don't know. I don't know.
Lurking on the responses from her real Reddit account.
Fair. But yeah, that's the hard thing with Reddit is that we sometimes are just left with cliffhangers.
Yeah. And it's like, that was like our friend and now we're never going to talk to him again.
Maybe she'll listen to this episode and create a new burner account and give us an update on
our subreddit.
Yeah. And I just think it's just incredibly sad. And it's like, I like to think that no matter what
happened with my sister, I'd know how to fix the relationship.
- Yeah.
- But I remember that not everyone, you know, is like,
like me or like you with their siblings. Like I would never let it get that bad.
Right. But yeah, there's definitely stuff that predates this post that we don't know about
and in their relationship. And honestly, original poster, it's like she might not have had the
choice. Like her sister might've done this and betrayed her and that's that. And it sounds like,
you know, in these families, it sounds like the family might've taken the married sister's side
and often the healthy person is considered the black sheep because like people in dysfunctional
families don't want it called out. They want to just live in their dysfunction. Yes. They don't
want to deal. Bummer. Well, that is a creepy story. Yeah. All right. Are you ready for the
next story? Yes. Creep me out, baby. Great. You know, recommendations can be great. Maybe

messages. Am I the asshole for exposing my cousin's creepy husband to my entire family?
And this was originally posted in 2022. I, 22 female, met my cousin's husband,
so cousin is 24 female, husband is 26 male, last July for their wedding. They live several states
away, so in addition to the ADT Plus app, I'm the asshole for exposing my cousin's creepy husband to
my entire family. In addition to meeting him for the first time, it was also the first time I had
seen my cousin in a few years. I instantly got a bad vibe from him, and he made several comments
that rubbed me the wrong way. He told me I seemed like a wild child and said he would bet I'm a bad
girl at my college. Creepy. Bad girl? I can, like, hear the way that a creepy man says it, too.
Ooh. So when I hear creepy man, I think older,
and I know that's not accurate, but I'm trying to picture, like, a 27-year-old creepy man.
Yeah. And did the original poster share her age?
She's 22. He's 26.
So not a big age difference. I just can't imagine someone close to my age being like,
are you a bad girl at college?
Also, it's your cousin's husband. Like, it's someone who you should be on a amicable friend
basis who's crossing a line and being flirtatious, and that's what makes it creepy.
Yeah.
It's crossing a line.
Since meeting him, he has followed me on Instagram and sporadically sends me reels,
which I don't open. He comments odd things on my posts like, looking good, cousin,
thumbs up emoji. He even DM'd me once saying, hey, I'll be in your state this weekend on business,
LOL, which I never opened or responded to either.
All of this definitely creeped me out, but I didn't feel like I could say anything about it
because my cousin and I aren't close, and I've always felt like she looks down on me
because she's a devout Christian.
And I am not.
So, already, Instinct is saying this is someone trying to cross a line.
I'm trying to understand, like, the cousin looking down on an original poster,
but not on her husband for saying things like bad gal at college.
I feel like she doesn't know.
Okay, fast forward to this week. One of those fake accounts on Instagram popped up with some
of my pictures, and this fake account was asking money for X-rated pictures. So, it was like a,
like, bot or someone stealing her photos, trying to scam people for money. The bio was in broken
English, the pictures were poorly cropped screenshots of my two most recent posts,
and the cash app was a random string of numbers and letters. The account just looked very fake,
and many of my friends sent it to me and reported the account. Of course, the one person
who apparently fell for this scam was my cousin's husband. I then got a very long, nasty DM,
from my cousin, telling me she had been very tolerant of my sinful lifestyle,
whatever that means, but that this time I had gone too far. She said she didn't care that we
were family, and so long as I was posing a threat to her marriage, I was no longer welcome in their
lives. I calmly and politely responded that this account was not me, that I had reported the
account to Instagram to be taken down, and I apologized for the apparent disruption to her day.
She responded that she didn't believe me, and said that she pities
me for having such low self-esteem, and would keep me in her prayers.
I'd be like, I'm good, keep me out of the prayers.
Yeah. I lost it at this point. I called her stupid for falling for an account that was so
obviously fake, and said that her husband was clearly a creep, and it's embarrassing she even
married him. I then sent screenshots of the months of DMs from him that I never responded to,
and concluded by saying, if your marriage is so easily threatened,
get a divorce, don't take your insecurities out on me. Shortly after that, I got angry,
phone calls from my mom and my grandma saying my cousin made an honest mistake,
and that my response to her was cruel and unjustified. Because apparently,
my cousin showed everyone our messages, and is humiliated by what I said. Which,
if you're humiliated by it, stop showing the messages to people.
You started it?
Yeah.
My sinful lifestyle?
My mom is worried our relationship with that side of the family is now permanently damaged,
and that now I may not be welcome at future family gatherings because my grandma doesn't want the
drama.
I really don't feel like my response was that out of line, but since no one else agrees with me,
I'm not so sure. So, am I the asshole?
No.
Not at all?
Literally not at all, and I feel really bad that you have family members like this,
and the fact that anyone would not see this for what it is, like a creepy dude stirring the pot.
Like, why are these two women bickering when it's this guy's fault?
That's my biggest thing, is why is this husband not being reprimanded for the fact that he,
was actively trying to buy naked photos of his wife's cousin?
Yeah, yeah, and the wife is embarrassed, and you know, it's like, you just got married,
you're this like, pious religious person, no shade to religious people at all,
but this isn't how you communicate with people, and it's like, I can understand how you would
be embarrassed being like, I'm supposed to know better, I'm supposed to be with like,
a great guy, because I'm so religious and not sinful, and it's very, it's very,
it's very frustrating that the people are taking her cousin's side, because
to email her for, message her first and insult her, it's like, how?
Call her a slut, basically, and be like, I can't believe you're selling photos.
Then call her a liar.
Yeah.
It's like, and then when she's pushed to the point where she reacts.
She was provoked, yeah.
Correct. Then it's her fault. Tell grandma the truth, that other cousin won't be going.
Yeah.
They'll be going still.
I do feel like this is one of those situations where sometimes the person
who's the loudest ends up being empathized with the most when it, it's because they're
so loud, and because they're making such a stir about it, whereas the original poster
seems to be like, reacting and not making everyone, not getting everyone else involved
in it.
Yeah.
But so the comments are kind of agreeing with what we said. No one's saying anything about
how the husband tried to get pictures of you or tried to hit you up. You are not the asshole.
Good red ants. Original poster said, I had a feeling he only told my cousin because he
tried to cash app the account and got nothing. Could be wrong, though. And so this is, that was
a question I had. And I don't think the original poster has an answer necessarily. But why would
the husband of the cousin confess that? Or did, or did the cousin find it?
I was wondering that too. Because I was gonna be like, how do you know that he was the only
person who fell for the scam? Unless like, what if he hit up? What if he hit up the cousin he has a
and was like, "Where's my pictures?"
- Right.
- Like, "I sent you money, where's my pictures?"
and then she's like what the hell yeah or like i'm picturing and we don't have this answer but
i'm picturing the husband and the cousin like share a bank account and there's like 20 charges
a cash app expenses are like ridiculously expensive and she's like what the heck is this
and then he's pissed and tells like your cousin's scamming me i don't know you have to be so stupid
to admit it okay and then i did like this comment because i do agree this user said that you're not
the asshole you and your cousin are the victims here so really neither of you should be blamed
for this drama your cousin fell for a scam account believing it was yours though she could have
listened a little bit more closely when you explained and you didn't ask for all that
attention from her husband but they all feel sorry for her because she just found out that
she doesn't have a quality man for a husband i'm really at a loss for why you're being blamed for
your honesty here and if your cousin was so humiliated by what you said why is she showing
the conversation to everyone i also agree with that yeah she's making it
worse like yeah more people now know that your husband's a creep yes but also for some reason
you're defending him and blaming it all on the cousin who did nothing wrong well you know it's
like they're newlyweds it's like i could understand being extremely defensive and when you
are embarrassed and you're like trying to downplay so that people don't think your husband's in the
wrong like your feelings can get hijacked like i don't want to judge her because she's very likely
manipulated by the same husband or gaslit in a very extreme way so it's hard to judge her i i
totally agree that the women are the victims but you know if someone told me that my husband did
something i would never punish them no i would never blame them or call them a liar or hold it
against them ever it would be hard because you'd be like hurt and jealous and not jealous but you'd
feel a kind of way right like oh shit my husband's attracted if he you know if the person who he hit
on came to me i would never punish him i would never punish him i would never punish him i would
that would hurt yeah and it's not their fault no yeah and like they're trying to do the right thing
also i'm sorry but if this man is trying to buy naked photos of your cousin he is for sure
subscribing to so many people's only fans and looking at nude photos all the freaking time
100 yeah like look at this man's search history it's not clean no um because there's a lot of
free shit out there that's also true but if he's willing to pay for his cousin right who is he
paying for
unfortunately we don't have a update really on this story uh there was just a lot of comments
all agreeing that this husband is the one who's in the wrong and then i did find because i of
course clicked on the user and searched other things nine months ago the same user is dealing
with uh a relationship issue where they posted in relationship advice is it normal that my
boyfriend wants me to block everyone i have a history with after two weeks of talking and i
don't think that's normal no you do sound very beautiful though it sounds like you you drive
men crazy yeah agreed yeah wow i hope she figures it out me too because it's not your fault you're
so desirable you're so perfect yeah yeah i've always dreamed of being able to order my coffee

this is a good one great i mean they're all good this is a weird one oh fun i'm a 28 female my
husband 28 male took me to a creepy party his friend another 28 male hosted and now i feel
uncomfortable around his friends like a swinger party maybe worse what is the creepy party my
husband has this group of friends who he's very close to they all grew up together and still see
each other regularly they've always been nothing but nice to me for the entire three years i've
known them and before this had never made me feel uncomfortable in any way on saturday it was his
friend's birthday so he invited us to his party at the party there was a table full of gross things
like you'd see on a survival show and these men were paying some girls to eat these things and
they were filming it and laughing at them this is like torture porn it gets more interesting
my husband intentionally kept me away from that side of the party but at one point i needed to
use the restroom and couldn't find him so i ended up there meaning on this
weird side of the party i'm so uncomfortable when i was there this random guy came up to me
and tried to get me to eat one of the nasty things he was pretty aggressive about it one
of my husband's friends saw me and told the guy not her and then he asked me where my husband was
and made a joke about how he shouldn't have let me out of his sight ew why this is giving like
epstein it's really weird he then stuck to me like glue until we found my husband again at which
point he whispered something to my husband
and left i feel so repulsed and creeped out by the whole thing i literally had a nightmare about
the party it doesn't help that i spoke to one of the girls and she said she had no idea this was
going to happen before she got there the dilemma i have is that we see them often we're supposed to
see them in like two weeks but i feel so uncomfortable just at the thought of having
to be around them especially the host and also i'm sorry but if this is the company he's keeping
that says a lot about him as well yeah um and the
idea that she sidebarred with one of these women and said that like they didn't know this was going
to be happening infers that like they were hired and also misled about the context of like what
they were being hired for or even just like the first time being invited to a party by these
people we'll see there's more okay also what are they eating do we find out oh no um she said this
though i feel like i'm doing a horrible job at explaining it but the whole thing was extremely
creepy i don't know how to explain it i don't know how to explain it i don't know how to explain it
tell my husband that she doesn't want to be around them anymore yeah those friends are like family to
him and i feel like refusing to go will cause tension between us and make him feel like i'm
forcing him to choose between me and his friends any advice he should yes so then after being asked
for specifics about what was on the table original poster says this there were a lot of things but i
noticed live insects eyeballs bull testicles bull testicle smoothies and a pig's uterus where do you
purchase said items from different places i think and why do you know well i think because you can
go to a butcher shop and be like oh but i really don't know i mean i'm assuming you can purchase
those things at a butcher shop i think you can get whatever but i really don't know i feel like
there should be some restrictions there and live insects you can get those um at like pet shops
because like people feed them to lizards and stuff eyeballs i don't know i really don't know
so she said this she's very considerate
i know there are probably places or cultures that eat this i'm not trying to insult anyone
i'm just saying the thing smelled really badly i feel like they intentionally made it look as
disgusting as possible i didn't eat any of it so maybe it tasted better than it looked
i don't think so it's the circumstances of which this is being presented it is a bunch of guys
paying women and filming them to do it because they're getting a kick out of it yeah it's not
because it's part of their culture and it's something they do right and also people were
like well how do you know what it was and they're like well it's not because it's part of their culture and it's something they do
right and also people were like well how do you know what it was and they're like well it's not because it's part of their culture and it's something they do
one price like you get this much if you eat it pig uterus you get this much so this is like a very
organized thing yeah and what really unnerves me about it all of it does but filming it
is really disgusting because like what are you doing with it and clearly this is not original
posters like partners first time going to a party like this this is this is not oh this is the first
time we're trying something like this out they do this on a regular basis right and i think the
commenters a lot of them wrote really insightful things so one said what the hell did i just read
so your husband's close friends dehumanize and humiliate women they take advantage of women
needing money who have less wealth or status than themselves to lure them into this situation
they accidentally mistook you for a woman they were going to demean and bully and now you're
having nightmares that okay that's such a good point because i've had this conversation with
someone i was
in a relationship in the past where i was like the way you treat other women indicates to me
that you have no respect for women and if you feel that way about them you you absolutely cannot
actually respect me as a woman right like we're all the same yeah or the fact that you are able to
dehumanize or objectify women because you think they're less than by some superficial standard
or like right yeah that says a lot about how then he views you yeah
so another commenter wrote they are financially abusing and humiliating women and your husband
either partakes enjoys or excuses it so that's the truth too yep so that woman who said she had
no idea what she signed up for again they're being they're lying and one user says so they
hired women to be at a party under false pretenses that's so disgusting i wouldn't even know how to
respond oh another says sounds like a low rent eyes wide shut situation and a commenter replied
to that but worse these guys are
specifically about humiliation and degradation they actually want to hurt the women they also
filmed so they can control them later right like what is the escalation of this control them later
or post those to various like porn websites and make money off of them right you know because like
you can do that yeah and like then you get paid for the views and all those things yeah so are we
ready for the update yes and no but yes i posted a few months ago about the creepy party my husband's
friends hosted i was supposed to see them two weeks after my original post but i got out of it
my anxiety was sky high and it made me physically sick so i had a legitimate reason for skipping the
event it took me a long time before i actually gathered the courage to say anything to my
husband about what happened that day even though he had been asking me multiple times before if i
was okay when i first told him he was super understanding and promised nothing like that
would ever happen again why do i also feel like the husband was like soft launching this as a let's see how
she reacts because maybe there's even more that he's doing with this group of friends that he wants
her to be a part of or it red flags everywhere yes yes and like these are lifelong friends like
there's no version of this husband not at least knowing yeah that this is something his friends
get into the original poster says while he was upset when i told him i didn't want to be around
his friends he told me understood and he wouldn't force me
also he already knew what happened with the guy who approached me and asked me to eat a disgusting
thing because his friend told him all he would say was that he had handled it and it wouldn't
happen again he continued hanging out with his friends separately and eventually they asked him
why i was never around anymore and also separately meaning is he going to more of these parties now
without original poster maybe he told the truth to the friends about why the original poster didn't
want to be around them anymore they did reach out to apologize and justify the party but i never
responded to any of them also this is like um she spells apologize like she's in australia or
england the uk okay how do you with an s with an s okay so i thought that was interesting i'm like
i'm like australia it's probably really disgusting things are eating with all the bugs they have
there things were starting to get better until recently my in-laws hosted a birthday dinner for
my husband i asked my husband if his friends would be there and he told me no it's just going to be
family when we got there his friends were all there and i was like oh my god i'm so sorry i'm
ew i ended up leaving the dinner without telling anyone because i couldn't handle being around them
when they were all just trying to act like nothing had happened i did text my husband when i was in
the uber but he was pissed at me when he got home for leaving the way i did we had a huge fight and
i ended up locking him out of our bedroom because he wouldn't drop it he's still angry at me over
what happened but i'm pissed at him too during the fight he said i needed to get over what happened
and that his friends wouldn't hurt me he kept telling me i had hurt her
that like distinction well actually one of them would one of them tried tried you know and also
turning it on to her also red flag this is all bad yeah very bad he kept telling me i had nothing to
be worried about because he was right there and he wouldn't let anything bad happen to me i got
really angry at him and asked him if i had nothing to worry about like i had nothing to worry about
at the party because i was married to him i asked him would he still say that if we weren't married
or if i would have been fair game to his friends then right
he implied i had misunderstood what was happening at the party that i had worked myself up over
nothing in that i was being ridiculous okay gaslighting her yeah one commenter gave really
great advice that i'm like gonna start saying to people who tell me fucked up stuff their partners
do what is it let's say your husband took you to this party three years ago when you're first
dating would you have continued to date him after that nope no and granted it's harder to get out
of a marriage it's not as it's not as simple you took vows or whatever but it's not as simple as
but this is a really great point but that's why i feel like this is even more manipulative like he
knows that these parties and what is happening there is wrong which is why he hid it from her
for so long right and they continue if you knew your new boyfriend attended disturbing parties
when you first met would you have kept dating him and eventually married him or would you get the
fuck out of there as fast as you could and never speak to his friends again or him one person posted
another thing and it relates to sort of what you said about the epstein thing yeah they said this
is rich people sport by the way like this is rich people sport by the way this is rich people sport
like gross people and that's the feeling i get too it's like rich people are so bored by
the things that normal people think are great yeah and get them excited like they're so bored
by everything and that's why they start having to like humiliate people to get amusement and not all
rich people are like that but there's enough evidence of it yeah or it's like even with
adrenaline junkies and not to the same same extent but like once you reach this high you kind of are
facing it and so you keep pushing the boundaries yeah to see what else you can do because you you
want that feeling again yeah and i think just uh the filming of it too it's like yeah it's very
any of that on the record is really fucked up for the victims in the situation the like
what's that that movie about um the woman who wants to get revenge on the guys who assaulted
her and so she like puts them in the same situation well there's a tv show about that
right now called furious have you seen it i haven't seen it yeah with um emmy rossum we're
literally it's a girl who was trafficked when she was little and one of her friends died like
through the trafficking and the abuse and she's basically hunting down everyone who was at these
like epstein level parties and murdering them so she's like a serial killer it's really interesting
and emmy rossum is playing the an fbi agent like working on the case it also reminds me of the
is turning the men from pigs back into human form and she's like back to your disguises now
because the man form is actually the disguise yeah yeah i love that yeah damn damn and there's
no update as to like are they together did this work out but honestly these are young couples
some of these and i'm like you're 28 and you're already having these problems it doesn't look good
no that makes me really sad makes me sad too and i feel like i don't know like legal jargon i also
we don't know for sure where this is but like i feel like what's happening at these parties has
illegal elements especially in places like other countries are a lot more strict than we are yeah
with this kind of abusive like content so yeah tell us please create a sting
yeah sting operation that's right well chris hansen it yeah
are you ready for our last story because this is submitted by someone who listened to the show
our subreddit crimes of pod i'm so excited because this is aspirational we wanted to tell
listeners stories yeah and it's happening already and we already have we have so many stories people
are posting on there and don't worry we will be reading more of them in future episodes
but um yeah brace yourself i can't wait this one's wild it is called my professor tried to kill a
student oh my god my pharmacology professor in nursing school tried to kill a former student he
had a crush on during his career he was a nurse and he was a nurse and he was a nurse and he was a
during my semester it was crazy we were a class of mostly naive female nursing students who looked
up to this man we would go up to him and ask questions about our patients during breaks
and one week he was lecturing to us and the next his picture was on the front page of our local
paper elliot quack somehow wasn't tried for attempted murder something lesser he went to
prison but he's out now and not only does his wife at the time still believe he's innocent but he's
as a pharmacist in california it blows my mind i blame him for having the money and connections
to pay good lawyers this happened in 1996 but fortunately there is still at least one link to
the story so we found a news article link because that was the post on our separate it we have the
news article link i also found the appeal which gave so much detail into the initial crime but
i'll read the news article and then we'll go into like some of the stuff from the appeal i'm on the
edge of my seat that's crazy details are crazy yeah and the fact that he was able to go back
and work and live a normal life. And he's still alive. I looked him up. He lives in California.
I think he's 74. Okay, so this is the news article. The chief of pharmacology at Kaiser
Oakland was described as a lonely man who was obsessed with a Walnut Creek nurse and tried
to murder her after breaking into her house, according to grand jury transcripts unsealed
yesterday. Elliot Kwok, 43, had wooed Desley Lawrence for months, giving her presents,
driving by her home, asking her for photos, despite her saying she was not interested
in a romantic relationship. Lawrence testified during the secret hearing earlier this month.
Lawrence said, I felt very sorry for Elliot because he seemed shy and lonely. She said
she remained friendly with Kwok and had dinner and occasional outings with him. I did enjoy
his friendship, but I said, if you want more than that, you need to find somebody else.
Lawrence said she thought Kwok understood her position,
but prosecutors presented witnesses who showed that Kwok secretly got a key to Lawrence's house,
programmed a garage door opener to get into the garage of her house last winter,
without her permission. On March 6th, Lawrence was awakened at about 3 a.m. The assailant was playing a tape recording of someone saying, I'm going to kill you.
A tape recording. Lawrence said, I thought I was dreaming.
I thought, I'm going to wake up. Lawrence testified saying that her assailant pulled her by her neck
onto the floor and straddled her. And then by the time I was on the floor, I thought to myself,
my God, this is really happening. Lawrence said she thought the attacker was a drug-crazed intruder
and she struggled with him, biting his thumb and then hitting him numerous times with a clock radio
and a telephone before fleeing to a neighbor's house. But instead of a stranger, police discovered
Elliot Kwok bloody and beaten in Lawrence's bedroom.
Kwok was admitted to John Muir Medical Center for treatment and the following day he told a police
guard that he was not trying to hurt Lawrence. Instead, he claimed that he and Lawrence were
romantically involved and he had planned a night of kinky sex. I just wanted to have fun. I'm 43
years old and thought it would be fun. Bowers quoted Kwok as saying, I said to him, it didn't
look like you had too much fun. Kwok told Bowers, who's the deputy sheriff, that Lawrence had
misunderstood the recording, which he said was from a movie and that it was meant to be funny.
I'm going to kill you. He said he planned to tie her up and take photographs of her.
And Kwok said Lawrence had given him the keys and garage door opener, but Lawrence denied that.
After a two-day hearing, grand jurors handed up an indictment charging Kwok with attempted murder
and burglary. Kwok, who is free on a $2 million property bond, pleaded not guilty Thursday in
superior court. This is unbelievable. I mean, normally I like have thoughts, but I'm just in
shock. And so that article says a lot already, but then I found in the appeal, because it goes
through literally everything about their relationship. So the crime, the attempted
murder happened March 6th, 1995. He filed for an appeal in 1998 and it shares so much more
information. So apparently he brought with him a duffel bag containing a video camera, a Polaroid
camera, a bottle of whiskey, a piece of wire cut from a coat hanger, a flashlight, a can of topical
anesthetic spray, that taped dialogue from Beverly Hills Cop 2, and a condom.
Oh, okay. Well, I guess if you're being safe, like that's insane, but go on.
Also took considerable pains to prevent his identity from being discovered and to ensure that
his serotipcious entry would not be detected before he could spring his surprise. So he wore dark clothing,
gloves, and a ski mask and drove a car, which Desley had never seen before. So that like,
if she drove past it, she wouldn't be like, oh, that's his car. He parked around the corner from
her house, covered the license plate with an old plate he had in his garage. And because
Kwok knew that Desley had a part-time housemate, he also rang the doorbell before entering and
breaking into the house to make sure no one was home. After entering the house,
he gathered a number of additional items to use in playing out this surprise, including a pillow,
which he stuffed in his sweatshirt to make him look fat. He also gathered a large kitchen knife,
a martingale, which is a brittle-like piece of equestrian equipment that she kept in her garage.
He had a roll of duct tape, a pair of her pantyhose, and a pair of her panties.
And also, Desley was working until 11 p.m. Sunday night, but unexpectedly ended up working much
later. So when he broke into the house and she didn't arrive by 11 p.m.,
he fell asleep in a spare bedroom and did not wake up until after 3 a.m. By that time,
Desley was home and asleep. So she went home, not knowing that he had already broken in and
was asleep in a spare bedroom. So he was initially charged with attempted murder for the March 6,
1995 attack, first-degree burglary for entering the house during the March incident,
and first-degree burglary for secretly entering the house on February 24,
prior to the incident, to obtain the key. So his whole appeal was basically,
I entered the house, temporarily removed the lock back in February, had a key made,
returned that lock back to the house, and then broke in in March, but he said he didn't
permanently steal the lock, so there's no theft. The jury did acquit him of attempted murder,
but convicted him of the lesser offense of assault by means of force likely to produce
great bodily injury. The appeal was denied, but yeah, I looked him up. He's 74 now,
still living in California, and according to our original poster on Reddit,
still working as a pharmacist in California. That's insane. It's insane because I would assume
even the lesser charge is a felony, so pharmacists can be convicted felons? Like,
that surprises me. No, it's crazy to me. There's so many things you can't do if you're a felon.
But apparently-
You can't even go to Canada.
Yeah.
Like, so it's like, but you can mix my medications?
Yeah. And also, I think about how many people he's interacting with, like,
young people who are going to pick up their prescriptions. He knows all of their information.
He knows what medication they're on, their address. Like, really-
Family members.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's really disturbing, and it just sounds like the kind of crime
you don't do once. Like, it really is very similar to, like, Golden State Killer,
type shit, what he did with his assaults and his rapes.
Had she not been able to bite him and hit him over the head and, like, physically beat him,
she would have been dead.
Well, it's funny. It's like, in his head, because, you know, people are delusional,
and he's like, if I can get away with this without her knowing who I am,
then I don't have to kill her, you know? And I'll have this video of her, and I'll have this
experience, this fantasy. It's like, probably the thinking with the pillow and his shirt to make him
look fat.
But yeah, had she-
Had she identified him at some point, then he would have had to.
Right.
You know?
Because she didn't know it was him until the police found him in her bedroom.
It's just so traumatic. It's unbelievable.
Horrible.
And, like, okay, this- you can't even be nice to somebody without them thinking that, like,
they're going to do this. Like, she's like, I wanted to be friends, but-
And she set a boundary so many times and thought he understood.
Unbelievable. That is a shocking story.
Yeah.
Shook.
I think I hear shook.
Oh, my God.
We're shook.
I have the chills.
Thanks for shaking us, Reddit posters.
Wow, that is a story.
Yeah. Posted by one of our listeners. So, thank you for sharing that.
It is.

Yeah, keep them coming because-
Keep them coming.
I don't get shocked that easily.
And you were shocked into silence.
Still shocked.
Still shocked.
Yeah.
I know, which is rare.

A separate story involves a cousin’s husband who attempted to buy explicit photos of his wife’s cousin, leading to a family confrontation and accusations of creepiness and manipulation.
A third story details a husband who took his close friends to a party where men paid women to eat grotesque, dehumanizing food while being filmed—actions described as humiliation, degradation, and potential illegal exploitation.

Summary:
FAQs
A pharmacology professor named Elliot Kwok broke into a student's house in 1995, played a tape recording saying 'I'm going to kill you,' and tried to assault her. The student survived after fighting back, and Kwok was later charged with attempted murder and burglary.
He claimed he was planning a night of kinky sex and had a romantic interest in the student, but evidence shows he secretly obtained her keys and garage access to carry out the act, which he presented as a surprise.
He brought a video camera, a Polaroid camera, a bottle of whiskey, wire from a coat hanger, a flashlight, topical anesthetic spray, a tape from a movie, and a condom, suggesting premeditation and a desire to document the event.
No, he was not convicted of attempted murder. He was acquitted or released due to a $2 million bond, and he is still alive today, living in California.
She was awakened at 3 a.m. by the attacker, who was playing a recording and trying to strangle her. She fought back by biting the attacker’s thumb and hitting him with a clock radio and telephone before fleeing to a neighbor’s house.
The story suggests he was obsessed with the student, hiding his intentions and using manipulative tactics, including secret entry and recordings, to provoke a reaction, which raises concerns about psychological manipulation and stalking.
