In this episode of the "Thutthic and Skin" podcast, hosts Aaron Jensen and Megan Paterson discuss skincare for oily and acne-prone skin, focusing on the necessity of moisturizers. They explain that even oily skin can experience dryness, especially when using acne treatments like retinoids or salicylic acid, which can strip the skin's natural oils. Moisturizers are crucial to prevent irritation, tightness, and flakiness, and they do not necessarily cause breakouts if chosen wisely. The hosts recommend lightweight, non-comedogenic products such as SkinCeuticals' Daily Moisture and Hydrating B5 Gel, which provide hydration without adding excess oil. They emphasize balancing acne-fighting routines with proper hydration to maintain skin health, and note that exfoliation can aid in removing dead skin cells for better moisturizer absorption. The episode blends expert advice with personal anecdotes, reinforcing the importance of tailored skincare.

Welcome to Thutthic and Skin podcast. I'm your host Aaron Jensen and I'm Megan Paterson and we are here for episode 65. Yes. Yeah, we're recording on our usual Sunday. Megan just let me know she went to her orange theory today. I did, I did. Unfortunately, their sound system is busted so they're bumping tunes out of a karaoke stereo. It really kills my proverbial fitness boner but it's like what can I do? You know, at least they have sound. What if it was silence and it's just me going that would be the worst. It's happened like the biggest girl in the room. I was the biggest girl. But the cool thing about orange theory is that they don't make you feel like less than never. Like I'm the least like their, she asked me today. I checked in. She's like, hey, Megan, are you a power walker? I'm like, why do you ask? And the guy next to me laughs. I'm like, she's like, Oh, you know, I just wanted to know. I was like, that's God's plan. And the dude will ask because I'm like, I don't know what we're going to get today. I might be a 6.5, 4% incline type of bitch today. But I also, I had two cups of coffee. So I might be dehydrated. I might just get a power walk at a zero percent incline 3.5. That might be all you get. She's like, okay, Megan, I just was asking because it's marathon month. So if you want to give me your miles at the end of the class, I'll log you. And I was like, Oh, okay. So it was just a funny exchange because like I said, with orange theory, what I love about it is that like, I think I'm able to keep up with it because like there's no expectations. I mean, I don't pay for an accountability buddy that tells me like, you only got nine splat points. That would trigger me like crazy. But I go to orange theory. And when I park my car, I'm like, listen, Megan, all you got to do is just start. Okay. What happens after that? Like I said, it's God's plan. If you leave early, if you stick around, but usually I get really motivated by seeing the stats. Yeah. With orange theory, you get to see your heart rate. And it's only like three to six minute blocks. Yeah. That I could get through it. Yeah. And also, you know, what happens? I get really distracted in thinking I have other things going on that need me. So like when I'm doing the 10 a.m. class, that's when my assana and and slack is popping. Everyone in every department at the street was like, Hey, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, the office. I know orange theory class. I'm an orange. I've been I'm enjoying a luxurious morning filled with all sorts of mantras and and you know, Tai Chi and shit. And so I get to my, I like to, I don't like to rush when I get to my workout. But when I have to, I will. So there was an era where I had to be at Newport to open at 8 30 a.m. Y'all, I live in Northeast Los Angeles. That's far. That's an hour and 30, 40 minutes. And I would still do my workout. So I have paid my dues. Okay. I've done that 5 a.m. workout with all the other neurotic people. So other efficiency. Exactly. All of Aaron's people crazy. They have three Apple Watchers and shit. I'd yeah. No, I taddled on a chicken orange theory because she was running with her and on her phone. Like scrolling. Yeah. She was like answering stuff and shit while running on the treadmill. Like a 5.5. And I was like, listen, I went to the front. I was like, listen, I hate to be that bitch. But I get really triggered. I get really triggered when I see people on social media on the treadmill. Like this is the one hour of my day. I don't have to be glued to my phone. And they're like, say less Megan. Don't worry. We'll ask her. Because also, you know, what if you tripping? That's dangerous. I get nervous all the time. I have like stumbled a little bit. Yeah. So also she was one of those chicks that was just, I'm not even going to, I have to pray for her because she just really rubbed me the wrong way. Like she would do three back to back orange shake classes. I think she would orthorexia or or whatever that is like exercise obsession. So, um, so yeah, she would like, which is fine. You know, she had to answer DM sometime. I girl. Maybe she's some mogul that I have no idea about. And she's an Instagram influencer that's very important. But I was like, listen, don't remind me that I have a phone. That's the thing. I was like, I'm in orange theory thinking about how I should be on my phone. How I need to be answering emails. But I say, no Megan, the world's not going to end. Just do your workout and they'll be there. Your messages will be there when you're doing ding ding. So they're there. But anyways, I'm glad you got your workout in. Yeah. It was cool. It was Sunday people are chill too. The Sunday gang. It's chill. It's light. We're all there. Chill. Yeah. It was chill. My teacher's chill. And it was it was a light class. Are you guys inside yet? No. No, I saw. But we have a cover like we're in a parking garage. So it's ventilated and there's it's cool. It feels they did an amazing job. But yeah, one day we'll go and I know you're inside, right? Yeah. Inside, put like masks and all that. I know. I've been wearing a mask too. It's okay. I'm thankful just to workout. Amen. Yeah. So what we're going to talk about you guys today is a question that we get often. Aaron's gets it more than than most. She's been getting it since 2006. Probably. Yeah. Her. Her. Her. But people want to know what are the different hydration options for oily and acne prone skin types or is moist, are moisturizers even necessary if you're pimply and oily? That's a great question. Aaron's the perfect person to answer this. And she's feeling my my face feels like she's a great. Now. Aaron is trying to think Greece. I worked out today too. And I don't like I'm like what did I put on? Oh, I put on like my bleaching cream. I push from bleaching cream and it's like a really greasy. It is greasy. And then I have my sunscreen on top of it. So I'm like a super grease ball right now. But I think it's just because I usually wear it at night time. But I was like I'm not putting makeup on especially for you, Megan. Sorry. Or Sean. Sean. You're going. My prime here. Or sound guy. But no, it's a it's a great question. You know, I talk about like I don't use moisturizer as much. But as I've gotten older and if you listen to our menopause episode. Listen up. The dryness is coming. That dry face. Dry vagina. I don't want. I want to like keep it on. You don't have to add that in post shot. I added it for you. That's a dry one. You want to brrr. So you got to moisturize and moisturize. So I have been using moisturizers a lot more often. But moisturizers can be tricky with people with acne prone skin. Because just a reminder, what acne is is this combination of dead skin cells, bacteria, oil, hormones. So if you have more of a moisturizer, it has more of an oil based to it. It can add to that clogging of the pores. So we got to get something that is not going to be oily. Help with acne, but also keep your skin moisturized. So if okay. So if you guys listen to our menopause episode, skin gets dry after certain age when your vagina and uterus dries up. Unfortunately, I mean, I'm sure there's a more scientific way to explain it. But like your female hormones are reducing. Okay. And that causes there's some sort of chain reaction with the dry skin. Okay. So you you're like, okay, I'll hydrate then. But say you're not. Say you're kind of greasy. You're kind of oily. You're kind of acne prone. What's your answer when people are like, do I need to use a moisturizer? I think it goes, you know, if you, it's not a bad thing. It's not going to break you out. Okay. Say that again. Because a lot of people, that's what they think. A good moisturizer will not break you out. And I think you actually especially need to use one when you are using other treat products that treat acne. Important crucial. Yes. I mean, we don't, Erin does not prescribe acutane. But when I was on acutane for my severe acne, that was the last house on the block. Erin set me down and was like, listen, she's like, I'm not going to cut this any two ways. She's like, I'm going to keep it, I'm going to keep it 100. I'm going to give it to you real. She's like, get on acutane or get out of my office. She wasn't that severe. I like to be that traumatic. No, but really it was like the last house on the block. And I did it. And the side effects were like really, really dry skin. So I am acneic. But yet I had to use a more occlusive hydrating bomb cream than ever. Because what was drying me out was also curing my acne. Yes. Correct. Correct. And a lot of the products can be dry. Acutane is one retinols. Yes. Prescription retinoids. Those can dry your skin. Salicylic acid, benzal peroxide. So you have to, you need those products out with the acne. But then you want to fight back with moisture too. Yeah, it's like that fine balance. So if you don't know how to use retinol, we have an episode on that. I mean, really, we're just creating a library of resources. I know. Like episode by episode. If we haven't answered your question yet, we aren't doing our job. Well, and with DMs now, I just send a link to the podcast episode. Smart. Which by the way, should have been on our efficiency episode. And talk to text. I talk to text everything. Yeah. She can tell because she'll be like, hey, girl, period. How are you? And it smells like a word period. And it smells like a word question mark. It's not the symbol. But so, okay, so you use these things that tend to dry out. So why would something like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and a retinol? Why? And those are four acne treatments. Why does that dry your skin out? Like, what does it do? It just, it can reduce the oil in the top barrier of the skin. And again, we want some oil reduction. Because there is an excess of oil production. So they need to decrease it. But sometimes it decreases it too much. And then you get that dryness. Yeah. So it's kind of like shuffleboard. Yes. You know, you don't want to overshoot. You want to push it just enough. That's what I think of shuffleboard. Do you play shuffleboard? No, I'm playing it. I don't know. But maybe in my, once I hit menopause, I'm good. It's going to be my, but I'm not going to bruise myself with the shuffleboard stick. I know that for sure. I learned my lesson from your episode, from our episode. So, okay. So these ingredients reduce the oil production because oil production is a part of what causes acne. Yeah. Well, they more so reduce the oil at the surface of the skin, true reduction in producing the oil is a lot more difficult. You can do it a little bit, but it's more so takes off the oil at the top layer. Okay. So say you have acne, you're breaking out. How would somebody like know that they need it? Like what should they look for? Or is it kind of like a case by case basis like situational? Like are you more of like a high maintenance type of skincare user and you just want to add it for shits and giggles? Or like say there's somebody who's just starting their skincare regimen, they're breaking out and they like do they think they hear? They saw TikTok. That's like you need to have moisturizer. And now they're like, fuck, I need a moisturizer. How do people determine it? Like how do they know if their skins dry? The biggest thing is that at the end of the day, if your skin feels tight, irritated, flaky, red, those are all signs that your skin may be dry and irritated. Now one of the hard things is with acne treatments is that your skin can be oily, but you can still have dry, flaky skin on top of that layer of oil. Man, what a combo platter. That's a word. That's oily and flaky. It's hard. It's hard to treat too. So what then we try to do is that give you products to moisturize the top layer and reduce the oil down underneath. So it's a little tricky combination. But again, if you're feeling anything where your skin feels any type of discomfort, that may be a sign that you are suffering from dry skin. So when I had oily and like dry, flaky skin that word combo platter, what I would do, because you told me is to use exfoliation. Yes. So I use like micro exfoliating scrub by skin suitable. It's very, it's fine enough to where it's not going to tear you up. Like some other unmentionable products that you find it right aid for less than six dollars and 49 cents. Don't listen to tick-tock when it comes to that stuff. So I would scrape off the dead skin cells. I felt really baby smooth. And now my products could penetrate better. And I felt like the moisture that I wanted to get was able to penetrate better because it wasn't fighting through all that crust. Yes, you've taken that top layer of dead skin off. That's top layer of dead skin off. Yep, yep, exactly. Now we want to take a second to talk about skin suitable. We truly believe in the power of medical grade skincare products. We have seen it with ourselves and with our patients on how transformative it can be. The skin suitable's mission is to improve skin health and dedicated to this purpose. They make one simple promise to provide advanced skincare backed by science. As a PA, you know, science always comes first for me. Skin suitable's conducts extensive medical grade clinical testing, proving products efficacy and this sets skin suitable apart from all other skincare brands on the market. As you know, we keep it real here and we'll only promote what we truly believe in. Did you know that skin suitable was born from decades of skin cancer research that actually led to breakthroughs in using antioxidants on the skin? So we are proud to be sponsored by such a pivotal brand and even more excited to share with our listeners more about the skin suitable's products, which we love so much. And as the skin suitable flagship store, you can shop all skin suitable products on our website at getthetreatment.com now back to the show. So say you're okay. So say I'm a person who like has breakouts, but also like you mentioned at the end of the day, I feel like maybe tied around my mouth or like when I smile, I feel like my cheeks are tighter, something like that. What was you recommended for somebody in that situation? What kind of moisturizer would I recommend? Just you want something that's a lighter moisturizer. Skin suitable's makes a really good one called daily moisture. It's a lot. I have that actually. Oh, look at you. You're such a good girl. I really do. I love I love my daily moisture. It's nice because it's lightweight. It's good for normal to oily skin and not only hydrates, but it nourishes. It helps reduce the appearance of pore size by moisturizing them. So now I'll open it irritated. And it not all it moisturizes with this combination of vitamin E and three nutrient rich algae extracts and a blend of seven botanicals. I love it. It's very natural. Very natural. Good. But in a scientific way. Yeah. Exactly. So they, you know, they see the the like the good things about botanicals and they'll they'll put it in the product. But also, you know, they want you to know that like this isn't something they picked off a tree. Yes. This has been scientifically formulated. Like I said, Dr. Penel rest in peace. The man with the plan who was the first guy to patent vitamin C antioxidant serum, CE for Rulik. They've been working busing their butts in those little labs, trying to find stuff that works. And what I love about daily moisture is that it leaves me feeling smooth and not greasy. Yes. That's the worst. When you're oily prone or I'm sorry, when you're acne prone and you feel extra greasy, you just feel like the acne is very. You want to like take one of those like toilet seat covers and press it on your face. Yes. At the bathroom. That was my trick in high school. Like because I was so greasy. I didn't I didn't have those neutrogena rice paper thingies. No. I just got an ask ask it and just put it up on my face and it soaked up all the grease. So love daily moisture. So that is on on scales of thickness. It's like a face lotion. So it's not as thick as say a mole answer triple lipid, which is, which are amazing moisturizers. But it's a great place to be like I keep it in my regimen. I use it in the dryer months. But when I'm not using daily moisture, I use another type of hydration, which is one of Aaron's favorites. Yes. She uses it not only for hydration, but for other treatments in the office too. Hydrating B5 gel is like the jam. It's her jam sandwich. It until we carried skin suitable. I didn't know something like that existed. I don't know there was this moisturizing serum. So what is this clear serum? It's a B5 gel and it's an oil-free moisturizer that combines its vitamin C hyaluronic acid. Yes. It's a chain. The body's natural hydrator. And that helps bind to the skin and that helps moisturize the skin even more. So remember hyaluronic acid, it is a type of moisturizer when you apply it topically. So it's really nice because it's not thick. You can actually do it as a double moisturizer. You can put it on first and then put your daily moisture on top of it. Yes. If you need an extra boost of hydration, that's really good if you just done a some type of procedure. Yeah. Like a chemical peel, micro-needling where you want extra moisture, but you don't want like greasy, vassaline on your face. Yeah, yeah, double it up. So hydrating B5 gel has B5 plus hyaluronic acid and it's very thin. So it's like little clear droplets. Whereas daily moisture, it looks like a cream that you know, like comes in a little, like you'd buy from the drugstore, except it's very different. It's not drugstore cream. So their consistencies are very different. The general rule is thinner to thicker. So like Aaron said, if you want to use both post procedure, that's great. You might not need both. Correct. It depends on your situation. So for me, I don't use hydrating B5 gel and daily moisture right now because I didn't just get a chemical peel. I didn't just get a micro-needling. We use like a similar sliding gel for micro-needling because it's going to help with just the the pokes. But you know, that is a great thing to keep on deck because it's a great hydrating moisturizer for teens too. So it doesn't break the bank. It's not that pricey and a little bit goes a long way. Plus it's fragrance free. It's not going to clog your pores. And also it's great for like post like shaving. Yeah. So you know, if you have a guy in your life who shaves and you know rather than using some old spice or something, use something fragrance free. That's not going to irritate him, but it's also going to plump him and keep things, keep the binding, the moisture binding. It's such a great product. I do use it to micro-needle and what I do, I when I use it as a glide to micro-needle so I can penetrate that hyaluronic acid deeper into the skin. But I also add special little secret ingredients in it to help with melasma. Seven herbs and spices. Yep, I do. So that is a proprietary. That's right. We're waiting for a deal. So I could sell that shit and I can float off into the sunset on your own private island. Yeah, my private jet to my private island where I can be like see a sucker. I just sold air and sold to the devil for some proprietary stuff she puts on your face. But hydrating B5 gel bomb. It is so, so bomb. If you are the type of person who are like Megan Aaron, I do not trust you. I have really oily skin and I do not believe a thing you have to say about what can hydrate me. This is your shit. Yeah. This is your jam. That's for a sample. I think we're out of samples right now because they were such a demand, but we're working on it. Yes. Yeah. So when you're in store, be like Megan talks about this hydrating B5 gel. It's incredible, especially getting into these warmer months. What if your skin change is depending on the season? When you become a skin expert, I know you have this and I have it as well. I have my post-peel skin care, my dry skin care, my oily skin care, my breakout skin care. Yep. And so I pull. So I don't use the same products all the time. I have some consists. I have some consistency with some products, but when you get really good at it, you'll have your little tube of epidermal repair that will last you 18 months. Yep. Because you get chemical peels every few months. Yeah. You know, when it is summer months and you're oily or you'll have your B5 gel that you'll use. So I like to put it though all up on my bathroom counter. So they know that I'm that bitch. I want people to walk in and be like, oh my gosh, is she a brand ambassador for skin suitable? She has everything they want. When really like it's all for looks. I don't use all of them at the same time. I'm not going to use triple lipid, epidermal repair, emolience, all in one visit or in one sesh. It's for different different times of the year. So like, I won't be using daily moisture in the really hot months. I'll be using hydrating B5 gel. Because I'm a combo skin. I'm not as greasy as Aaron. I mean, she has to wash her hair every day. She's that greasy. That's one thing I didn't talk about in the efficiency podcast. I time my workouts and when I have to wash my hair like I buy. Yeah. If I wash my hair on Monday, I work out on Monday, wash my hair on Monday. I try not to work out on Tuesday. So I've clean hair. Wednesday I'll work out. Like it's a, it's a thing you guys. Oh, I know. I feel you on the same way. That's how I like, I work out on the day of my date because I'm going to wash my hair. And so somebody's going to see it. Yeah. Rather than just, you know, me on my couch, me and my zoom calls. So hydrating B5 gel is incredible. So it's not going to clog your pores, but it's going to keep you hydrated. So we know how to moisturize, but like that's not it. If you're, you know, people often ask like, Oh my gosh, just tell me what to buy. And I'm like, that's really cute. But like, how about and say if instead of being like just buy this all, it's like, what are you working with right now? So what should somebody be using? Like what would you say if you could pick like two cleansers from skin suitables that act like an egg or oily person should use? Simply clean is great because it clean. That's one I personally use. I love it because it takes off my makeup. Yes. It takes off my mascara and like eyebrow. And like it takes it all off. Crazy. But it does not dry or irritate my skin. No, it doesn't. And also what I love about simple clean is that I've been using it since for the past two years. And I use like a half pump. You barely need to get my face. If I use a whole pump, it gets my face, neck and chest. Crazy. It's a lot. It goes a long way. But what's the ingredient is simply clean because you know we're all about ingredients. The cleanser's main ingredient is salicylic acid. But it's a very mild percentage. But it also has more botanicals like aloe extract, orange oil, citric acid to gently exfoliate the skin but not overdry the skin. Yeah. So sometimes acne washes like benzal peroxide are just like way too much. Yeah. Really dry. It's like was there to 100 exactly. Ah! So this is something where you know if you don't you're that in between skin or even if you are oily, this cuts my oil so good. Yeah. So I look at like simply clean is like if you think about who's that character that goes to the bears and needs the porridge? Three little bears? Goldilocks. Goldilocks. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right. You know what I mean? Simply clean if you're like I have no clue. Just go to the simply clean. Yes. Go to the simply clean. Even if you are on you know acne medication, like it's safe, but it's going to have enough of an active ingredient in it to make a difference. Yes. Now what's a little hotter though? If you need some more heat. And not in a bad way because also you don't want to overwash acne skin. No. That will screw you up. No, no, no. But this next cleanser I hope you pick the cleanser. I'm thinking of LHA cleanser. Yes. You you think simply clean lasts for a while. LHA I had that in my shower for like I use it every day and everyone in her family uses it like her daughter uses it on her KPM. It lasted for over a year. Yeah. It was it's like it lasts so long. So what it is is that it's a it's a cleanser and it but not only does it has salicylic acid in it, it also has like colic acid and a lipohydroxy acid. And so that's going to help take off the oil and make up even further. It de-conjusts the pores. It brightens the skin and it's good for like all skin types and aging skin prone to breakouts. I wouldn't use it on like super super dry sensitive skin, but it like body, face, back chest. It works great. Yes. Use it on your butt for sure. Yes. And the thing is this bottle is so big. I tried it for the first time in Aaron's shower actually. I was like this stuff is the bomb and it has a I don't know if it's mint because it but it has whatever the acid is in it has a very tingly fresh clean feeling to it. So all of their products are fragrance free. Skin suitables doesn't cut their stuff with anything to dilute or to make anything ineffective. But this LHA cleanser when you clean off you feel like the cleanest you've ever been in your life. Yes. Yes. And I little goes a long way too. It's it's the type of bottle that's like a V shaped. So you squirt it out the lid. It sits on the lid. Yeah, it sits on the lid. So don't be heavy handed because you're gonna want to use it all over your body and your back. You barely like squeeze a tiny bit and work it up into a lather. I do my face and I do my neck. I do behind my ears. I get all up in the nasty muger in my ears down in my boobs and it lasts forever. So the thing is though like Aaron said if you're really sensitive, this might be a little too hot for you. So you want to take it easy. And do you use it morning and night? I usually use the LHA in the shower in the morning. And then I'll use simply clean it night to wash and take my makeup off. Yeah. So LHA is an amazing cleanser. It's their best-selling acne cleanser. And I'm so glad we started carrying it because when we first started seeing suiticles Aaron couldn't afford shit. Aaron could only afford a mint now five mint masks and a simply clean. It was it was humble beginnings. Let's put it that way. So once we become a we became a flagship. It was so cool because we had access to everything everything that since skin suiticles offers. So we're like oh my gosh we could pick like five different acne cleansers and we could pick a foaming acne cleanser that isn't a gel like Nico was in heaven. Yeah Nico was just having a feel like check this check check I'd like this. Which by the way if you guys don't know this Nico or master's statistician who was one of the first guests on this podcast he was the founding member of the skin suiticles esthetician program. Yes. He's an ambassador so he's up there at skin suiticles. He's big. So LHA cleanser is amazing. Now there's also a toner people always ask about toners. I personally don't use a toner should I be. I think that's a bonus. Yeah you can if you're like super super oily like you you're lucky I watch my face and use your and use hydrating cream like me on that if you're gonna use a toner use a good one. So they also skin suiticles makes an LHA toner which has it's a glycolic acid toner. And so I mean I love like called acid I love glycolic acid in their overnight we're new but that just kind of helps take off some of those extra oils but it also has glycolic acid or it has silic acid glycolic acid it just kind of takes off that extra layer. So would would somebody use the LHA toner and LHA cleanser you can yeah but again I would ease into it. Those are for the bad bitches. Those are the girls on the 1.0 retinal LHA toner they're like this is nothing but a cakewalk she's like this ain't no thing but a chicken wing she LHAs her butt her chest her back she's glowing she's shining she uses all the hottest stuff because she's a baddie. So but like you don't have to get the toner and the cleanser. No but it might but say you're running out of a cleanser say you're finishing your seat a fill or whatever grab the LHA toner yeah and give it a shot and try it yeah and even if you use it twice a week that's totally fine. Yeah but if you're like extra grease ball for sure. Yeah it's gonna help with the oil production it's gonna cut it it's an exfoliant you know the LHA the the acid is a chemical exfoliant so it has a 12% concentration of that. Yeah. You cannot find that at right age. No definitely not. We're Dwayne Reed for all of our New York girls are you New York listeners that's like the New York right. Yeah so okay so you guys oh also what about though okay going back to our mature mature menopause episode what about for those poor people who are broken out and dry because they're reaching that age. And wrinkles too. Oh man poor baby. Well skin suitables makes a great product called blemish and age so it's nice because it's an oil-free treatment to help aging skin prone to breakouts so what it does it combines it's a first product to combine 2% diotic acid with this optimal alpha and beta hydroxy acid formulation to help with acne and clogged pores so it's not this teenage acne treatment. It is not that orange. It's not that oxypads. Oh it's not a zit sticker okay. This is a serum for grown in sexy zitty women. This is one of our best sellers. It's an agent. Yes because it's like it's a 2-in-1 product. Thank you God. Thank you. It's amazing. Also you finally now know what AHA stands for alpha hydroxy acid. Aaron just broke it down. Yep. Alpha hydroxy acid. Yeah. And beta hydroxy acid. Yeah that's both. So what it does it helps reduce extra oil production and improves blotchiness and blemishes. It helps with uneven skin tone. It decadjust clogged pores like it helps everything. It's like a great multitasker treatment. Yes. So if you were mature and new to this game that is a great one to start with. Yes. So yeah if you are suffering from breakouts and you're also experiencing some or what do they say easing? What was that one scammy sham? Like if you want to ease into your wrinkles. Oh yeah. Easier wrinkles. If you want to ease your wrinkles then blemish and age might be a great choice for you. Like I'm all about killing two birds with one stone. Like less is more for me. I don't like a 12 step step skincare routine because I'm not an influencer that shows that on the internet. Like I'm like two things max three things max and that's including my latisse like I keep it super simple depending on the day depending on the mood depending what I'm doing where I'm at in life. But this one if there's I challenge you the next time you go into a drugstore is to find a product that is going to help with fine lines and acne. People associate acne with zitty teenagers. Yep. Where zits happen to women who have never had pimples before at a certain age in their life. So blemish and age is an amazing amazing serum. So highly recommended. I think that's also one of Nico's favorites. Yes. Two. He's so he's he sells those like crazy because he believes in it. And then of course as always we have been saying this since the very beginning of time sunscreen. Yes. You have to protect yourself from the sun. Even if you do feel oily and acne prone. You know because people think oh son will clear my acne. I used to do that when I was younger. I would lay out thinking it would. So like temporarily can dry your skin a little bit. But it can just make your scars look worse. When you're out of the sun, it'll purge. It's going to thin your skin and damage your skin so it looks worse later on. Like it is a short fix with a complicated long term issue. Like it is not worth it at all. So make sure you are wearing your sunscreen. Your sunscreen is going to help your hyperpigmentation go away faster. It's going to help make your skin look better and more refreshed. And then it's not going to make your acne worse as long as you're choosing an appropriate sunscreen. Yeah. Totally. So there are we carry different skin suitable sunscreens. But there's one that's really really good for oily skin. It's called the physical mat UV defense. So what's cool is that this isn't like any sun's facial sunscreen you've ever felt before. It's very, very unique. It's very different. So it's mattifying and it's it has the physical ingredients that we're looking for the titanium dioxide and the zinc oxide. You guys know ingredients are super important. So it totally protects the way it's supposed to. But it has this very specific technology. So it's called aerated silica. And it's proven to stay matte. Yes. Even when you are not matte when you are feeling greasy and oily. So even in hot humid conditions. So this is a really this is a favorite sunscreen for like our athletic. So like people who we had like a cyclist who really loved it because they like fit in her biker shorts. She used it and it stayed put. Yes. Because it's a matte. It's almost like a moose. And it feels kind of powdery when it sets in. Yes. So it finishes almost like a powder which you guys are probably thinking how is that possible when I think sunscreen I think of a lotion. No, it when you rub your fingers across it, it almost feels like your it finishes like a powder. So I personally use it. I put it on before my OTF workouts. Oh, I mix it up because I have like a I have a different sunscreen that's like completely typical. So like it's liquidy and it gives me nice glow. That's when like maybe later in the day. But for my workouts, I feel like this sunscreen doesn't drip into my eyes. Oh, that's true. When I use that modified formulation formula. So and it also the crazy thing about this like a moosey type of sunscreen is that it makes me feel really like smooth out. It's almost like a primer. It is it does feel like a primer. Exactly. If you use primers from like urban decay or anything like that where it has kind of like an interesting texture. This physical matte UV defense has this. So it dries completely weightless. How do you say that again? Non-cometogenic. Committed. Catecane. Non-acne genic. Is that a word? I think it is non-acne genic. So yeah, and it's translucent colors for your so it's going to blend on all different skin types or skin colors. So remember guys cleanse with something that's going to cut that oil. Yes. Don't be afraid of hydration. There's different hydration for you. And then also protect yourself and treat and yep and treat and protect cleanse. Moisturize treat protect. Yeah, check check check check. There you go. That's that's the formula. Y'all so I hope you learned something you might not have oily skin or acne skin but you probably know somebody who does. So make sure to share this with them. It's as easy as clicking the three buttons in the Spotify or the Apple podcast copying and shooting it over to your loved one.
