**Key Points**
1. Rizzo reflects on his identity as a legend and deity, emphasizing his self-proclaimed title "Riz God" and how it evolved after Survivor.
2. He shares a personal connection to Survivor’s early seasons, noting that his lack of attention during gameplay created a unique image that fans later misinterpreted as childishness.
3. Rizzo and Tyson discuss the rarity of players using "attention" in Survivor, with only a few like Ben, Cowboy, and Boston Rob ever getting to do so.
4. A key theme is the strategic tension between loyalty, betrayal, and social dynamics, especially in tribal alliances and backstories.
5. The conversation highlights how players like Kilby and Lewis made decisions based on trust, risk, and long-term strategy, with mixed outcomes.
6. Maggie’s actions, such as challenging Kristen’s food preparation, show distrust rooted in perceived threat, while also raising questions about player balance.
7. The episode’s emotional moments—like Devin’s tears at tribal council—are analyzed as genuine or performance-driven, reflecting the complexity of Survivor’s emotional stakes.
8. The discussion underscores how Survivor blends personal stories, strategy, and social manipulation, making it a deeply human game of trust and deception.
Apa kabar semuanya?
Terima, legenda, Rizzo, baga apa kabar?
saya hanya berpikir, anda tahu,
dilahirkan sebagai lelaki, saya rasa itu mungkin datang terlebih dahulu,
dan kemudian mimpi itu adalah,
anda tahu,
kegagalan saya mengatakan diri saya sebagai Riz God,
dan orang tidak percaya bahwa
dewa-dewa yang adalah saya,
wujud,
dan kemudian setelah saya memainkan Survivor,
saya merasa seperti saya menjadi seorang legenda.
saya hanya ingin melihatnya tanpa hatnya sekarang.
betul?
Oke.
Jadi, sekarang saya di sini di Pot of Spoken,
mengumpulkan batu afiniti kedua saya,
yaitu Tyson Apostle,
Ya.
Ya.
Jadi saya. Cerita yang menarik.
Saya ingin mengatakan,
saya juga ingin memakai perhatian di pulau.
Saya hanya tidak tahu,
saya tidak berpikir mereka membenarkan itu lagi
kecuali seperti Anda sangat, sangat,
kompleks Anda seperti sangat, sangat kecil
dan Anda mendapatkan sebuah nota dokter,
jadi. Atau Bos dan Rob.
Atau, ya, atau Bos dan Rob.
Jadi, saya pikir Riz God dengan perhatian belakang
itu adalah aura,
bagaimana anak-anak mengatakannya,
tetapi. Ya.
Mungkin, mungkin 3.0.
Saya tidak berpikir begitu.
Ya, saya juga.
Saya pikir setelah Anda telah hilang perhatian,
mereka akan berkata,
Anda tidak ada perhatian selama-lamanya
dalam perjalanan Anda,
perjalanan penyelamat.
Karena saya telah mencoba setiap musim.
Saya seperti,
"Bolehkah saya memakai perhatian pada musim ini?"
Mereka seperti,
"Tidak, orang tidak akan tahu
siapa Anda adalah dengan perhatian Anda
ketika Anda melakukan konfesional."
Saya seperti,
"Saya pikir mereka akan melakukannya."
Tetapi. Jadi seperti,
bahkan di. "Winners at War"
di penjuru,
saya seperti,
"Bolehkah saya memakai perhatian di penjuru?"
Dan mereka seperti,
"Bolehkah saya memakai perhatian di penjuru?"
Jadi hanya Ben,
Cowboy,
dan Boston Rob
memiliki kesempatan untuk memakai perhatian
yang sama di Survivor.
Saya seperti,
"Tidak seperti sangat sukar
untuk menghubungi
dan bertanya-tanya."
Dan mereka seperti,
"Tidak, Anda tidak boleh."
Dan saya seperti,
"Okey, tidak apa-apa,
teman-teman."
Jadi saya pikir
itu adalah pertempuran yang menarik untuk Anda.
Saya memakai
hampir setiap perhatian
dari sifat saya
untuk tidak memakai
perhatian yang dalam
setiap musim.
Ya.
Dan Anda tahu,
saya akan mengatakan
saya akan mengatakan
biasanya saya akan sedih
bahwa itu bukan halnya.
Tetapi untuk mengetahui bahwa
Jeff Probst
bukan sekali,
tetapi dua kali
merasakan saya sebagai Riz God
di live TV,
saya akan mengatakan,
meskipun dia menggabungkan
apa yang terjadi pada saya
pada Season 50,
saya akan mengambil
penghormatan
untuk dipanggil Riz God
oleh Jeff dua kali.
Kami ada di sana.
Ya.
Saya pikir
saya,
segera ketika terjadi
pada Season 50,
finalnya,
saya melihat Rachel,
saya seperti,
"Kami belum melihat
siapa yang memakai perhatian.
Adakah kita?
Adakah kita melihat itu?"
Jadi saya tahu
apa yang terjadi.
Tetapi,
saya yakin
kita tidak melihatnya.
Tetapi,
Jeff bergerak
dengan sangat yakin
ketika itu,
saya seperti,
"Mungkin saya hanya
berbicara
selama 15 saat.
Saya tidak tahu
apa yang terjadi."
Ini sangat lucu
karena,
jelas,
saya tahu apa yang terjadi.
Tetapi,
saya berada di ruang biru
menunggu
untuk terjadi.
Dan seperti,
saya memberikan
pembicaraan besar
di Confessional
dan menangis
tentang,
Riz God
dan kemudian
saya mendengar
pembicaraan
seperti,
"Okey, Riz,
kamu sudah selesai."
Dan saya seperti,
"Saya tidak tahu
jika saya sudah selesai."
- Jika saya belum selesai.
- Benar.
- Ya.
- Tetapi itu hanya untuk mempercayai pembicaraan.
Anda seperti,
mereka mungkin sedang menghapusnya.
Jadi ketika saya berjalan,
itu bermain.
Dan ketika saya sampai di sana,
itu selesai.
Seperti,
ya.
- Dan siapa saya juga untuk mengatakan,
seperti,
Paramount atau CBS seperti,
"Jangan.
Anda tidak akan memberitahu saya apa yang harus dilakukan."
Jadi,
saya seperti,
dan jelas itu bukan salah Jeff.
Tetapi kemudian,
Anda tahu,
sebelum saya berbicara dengan Jeff,
seperti,
saya melihatnya menetapkannya,
dan saya seperti,
"Okey,
saya akan mencoba
untuk membuatnya menyadari sesuatu."
Saya seperti,
"Jeff,
apakah saya menang atau kalah,
saya senang."
Dan dia seperti,
"Selamat berjumpa di juri, Riz."
Saya seperti,
"Ya, ini sangat,
sangat aneh."
Tetapi secara jujur,
melihatnya,
saya pikir itu ikonik.
Saya sangat senang dengan bagaimana itu berlaku.
- Ya.
- Karena kebenarannya adalah
Jonathan menyelamatkan saya,
menjadi sebuah keinginan ingat yang ikonik saya,
lebih baik untuk ego saya
daripada melihat Amerika,
seperti melihat Jonathan menyelamatkan saya
dalam sekitar 30 saat.
- Baiklah.
Ya, jadi itu menyelamatkan Anda sedikit.
Jadi mungkin itu disebabkan desain.
- Ya.
Itu benar.
Jeff tahu ego saya terlalu besar
untuk hilang api dua kali.
- Ya.
Terlalu berat.
Saya tidak pikir terlalu besar adalah kata-kata.
Saya pikir terlalu berat adalah kata-kata.
- Baiklah.
Mungkin untuk Anda, Tyson.
Saya suka mengatakan dengan cara lain.
- Baiklah.
Hanya ego memasak sepanjang jalan.
- Ya.
Tetapi kebetulan mereka mendengarkan Maggie
menunjukkan bahwa Maggie memiliki kesempatan.
Dan saya pikir apa yang Maggie lakukan
untuk menyelamatkan Lewis dan Kilby
itu adalah gerakan yang benar untuk Maggie.
Baik.
get through like one or two tribals but getting to final three at this stage
of the game is probably not ideal. But if you're looking at a day-by-day calculation where it's
like, all right, I just fractured this group and me and Lewis now have some wiggle room,
I think short-term it works out. But long-term, people are going to talk. They're going to be
like, whoa, Kilby and Lewis was able to fracture a tight four. They're big threats going into the
merge. So I think it might hurt him long-term. But short-term, I think was the right play.
I'm not even sure it's a good short-term play though, because now that tribe,
they still don't have the numbers, right? Because it took them the two extra votes.
It's 3-2 now instead of 4-2. And I mean, if I were in those three, I'd be like,
Kilby and Lewis, but especially Kilby are dead to me. And so if they go to tribal again,
isn't he just dead if they go to tribal? Well, so the alternative here for Kilby
would have been send Lewis home, keep the extra vote. Now you have the extra vote and you have
four people there. You pull Eric, so that's two. And now it's a 3-3 maybe the next,
time around. Is that? The way I look at it is I agree, Riley. It's kind of like a lose-lose in a
sense. But if you look at the glass half full right now, if Kilby gets rid of Lewis, he's a
dead man walking next round anyways. Because why are they going to break their four just to save
Kilby? I think the play is you cause a fracture within this Sabu tribe. And if you're really,
really good with Eric, you have you and Lewis against. Sharonda and Christian and Eric is kind of the middle. And if you're really this bromance with
Eric, your best plays maybe convince Eric to flip on a Sharonda or Christian. So I think it is kind
of lose-lose, but the best play for Kilby, especially if he's banking on this relationship
with Eric, is to make Eric the swing vote. Getting rid of Lewis kind of takes away Eric's power.
So that's why I think it's the better play doing it this time than next time.
I guess it hinges on that relationship with Eric because
I feel like, I don't know, I feel like that might be completely burned now. If I were in this
three, I would basically be like, I would propose throwing the next challenge just so that we can get
Kilby out. I'd be pissed off at this move. Yeah, okay, good. I'm glad I'm not the only one that
thought of it because I'm usually team never throw the challenge. But in this case, Tyson knows. Look
at him. He's like smiling because he knows I'm team never throw a challenge. But in this case,
I'm like, I'm so pissed off. I'm like, we have to get this guy out of here. We can't reward this
kind of. I don't know. For some reason, it's so much worse. The going to rocks or forcing the tie or whatever
than just a normal flip. I just feel like I'd be really seeing red after this vote.
No, I like this. But here's the thing. Like, to add to what Rizzo said, when you
create a fracture there, all three of those people are looking at each other and being like,
we're all pieces of shit. We weren't willing to go to rocks with our alliance. And now,
like, are they. Less trustworthy than. Like, they were willing to flip. I was willing to flip
just to save ourselves. So, at what degree is that person truly my alliance when I did the opposite?
I went to rocks on Blood Vs. Water, which locked Monica. But it was even odds for you. It wasn't like. It was great odds, like Kilby was.
Yeah.
But what it did was it locked Monica in because they were working and chipping at her the whole
time. And for me to go to rocks with her or for her. Like, she was then, like, endgame no matter what with Tyson. Like, she was not wavering after that
because I showed her, like, look, I could send you home, be all the way safe. I can go to rocks.
The odds are in my favor, sure, but I'm still taking a risk. And so, I think, like, when you
look at people who are like, no, we don't want to go to rocks, you have to factor that into your
future dealings with them.
Yeah. And Riley, I want to kind of piggyback off what you were saying because this is kind of like
deja vu.
It's deja vu for me a little bit because episode five of season 50 was the iconic rivalry between
Charlie and I. And what doesn't make this show on season 50 is actually Seri, Dee, and I
threw that challenge to go after Charlie where it was that double tribal because what you were
saying about Eric, Sharonda, and Christian is what essentially I did with Seri, Dee, and Camilla.
I thought, wow, I have these people that are willing to vote Charlie out now. I have to get
Charlie out.
Because if we win immunity, they might just forget about it. And I'm going into the jury or I'm going
to the merge with an opposing person that really wants me out. So, if I am Christian, Sharonda, and
Eric, and I say, like, hey, you know what? Like, we flipped on Linnea. We're pieces of shit, but
let's get back together. Lose this challenge.
Let's bond over that. Let's bond on how shitty we are as humans towards someone that we pledged our
allegiance to.
Right.
And also get some of it back, too, and be like, okay, we weren't willing to go to rocks because
that's crazy. We were probably going to lose that based on the odds. But now we can, like, get
revenge for Linnea and sort of make it right in the end.
Right.
Yeah. Even though it won't bring her back.
No, it won't. Obviously, no.
So, if I was them, I would actively throw the next challenge, obviously, depending what twists and
all that come about. But I don't know if they will. I think, like Tyson said, now they're all
going to be questioning.
Like, damn, like, like, Sharana didn't go to rocks for Linnea. Sharana going to go to rocks for me.
So, I think a lot of allegiance. I think the game opens up right now.
Okay.
Interesting.
A statement followed by another question here. You said in 50, Seri helped you throw a challenge.
Has she been throwing challenges for the last 25 years? Is that she could have won this one, you
think?
It's perfect. It's the person they never suspect.
Right. I think, you know, if we look at the track record.
She could have won the one that you guys threw. You're saying that Seri could have had the
opportunity to win a challenge.
Listen, Seri and I have never won an individual immunity across our seven seasons. Is it because
we're bad at challenges? Or is it because we threw all of them?
That's what we're saying. Now we don't know.
You'll never know.
There is definitely strategy to not winning challenges, individual challenges, for sure.
But secondly, with this group, and they're coming back, do any of them believe in Lewis's
blood ring?
Yeah.
Yeah, I would say no. I will say though, Lewis Cook, I think, I would not be surprised if Jeff
and the producers saw what Lewis pitched and was like, wow, this is like a really good twist. I
don't know. Like, I think the ring itself is a good twist. I think it's a good twist. I think it's a
might have been dumb, but the premise is actually very, very good. Because obviously now with the
permanent uncertainty we saw in 50, we had like a duo's twist. We had like the power broker where
like double eliminations are going to happen. And to like say like, hey, I have to give you
something where our lives are like tethered together. And if you go home, that makes me go
home. I think like that's a pretty good lie. So I think Lewis Cook, I wouldn't be surprised if we
see it on like Survivor 57. I thought it was that good, truthfully.
Here's my hope is that they buy the ring from Lewis and use it on season 52. Because 52 won't
have seen 51 and they get out there and they're like, this is a blood ring. And they're like,
wait, what? And then it's a full throwback to this season. And, uh, but yeah, I didn't hate
that story and that lie. But then Christian was like, oh, he already told us about this.
But also if you're against Lewis, you could also also just claim that Lewis had already
talked about this. So speaking of Christian, which nobody has this entire season. Yeah.
How do you recover from that Rizzo? Like what if you were like telling everybody you didn't think
you'd be shown that much. And then all of a sudden you're like one of the stars of 49,
but then reverse that feeling. It's tough. You know, I think for me, and I felt like,
I don't know if guilt is the right word, but going into season 49, right. Obviously I didn't say
CBS didn't say anything, but if you're a survivor fan, you obviously knew who was on survivor 50
from survivor 49. And knowing that feeling, like for me, selfishly, it's like, great. It's like,
well, I'm going to be on the show a lot. Cause like they got to show why I'm coming back.
But then you look at my other castmates who aren't on 50, it's like, ah, damn, like this is the Rizzo
and Savannah show. So from that lens, it's like, ah, damn, like I kind of empathize for my castmates
because you never know, like survivor, you'll never know if you'll ever play again. You have
no guarantees. And for,
for a good majority of my cast, they probably, that will be the only time they play survivor.
So I always felt for them in that aspect. And now the opposite for Christian obviously sucks. I
don't know why. I mean, maybe he wasn't an engaging storyteller or he isn't a part of the main
narrative. That's usually why people aren't shown is most of the time to be protected, right? Like
the producers don't want to always, well, I mean, you know, they're showing Devin be wrong a lot,
but like they try to protect people.
For the most part. So maybe he's just not being shown because he's being protected. I don't know.
I genuinely have no idea. Yeah. I think it's, uh, I think it's a lot of that. I think you have more
entertaining storytellers. Um, even on token chains, the Jalapal tribe was like, Joe is going
to be the main driver of this story. He's so engaging and funny. And then they were like,
oh wait, there's two people that are more absurd than Joe on the other tribe. So we'll just let
those guys tell the whole story.
which was good for me.
i think um so you never know like who's gonna outshine and it's yeah it's it can i think it
can be a bit tricky so i'm assuming that christian is uh feeling a certain type of way right now and
sympathies out to him and who knows maybe his late bloomery comes on later in the season
really hard um we'll go through chronologically now there's a few more things i wanted to touch
on at the end of this episode but uh let's let's just get straight to the beginning of the episode
wait actually before you go to that tyson i have a question for you so one moment that really stood
to me that i like actually laughed out loud is when kilby went to go vote he did like this
naruto run if you were if you're playing survivor with someone like kilby and they go into the booth
and like naruto run to vote somebody out is that like saying like you know what i want to bring him
to the end because who's gonna vote for him or is that like that little weasel is pissing me off
his ass is grass like where do you stand on that if it's against me i'm thinking like this is so
cocky like it makes me want to target him more but also it's like you have people actively against
you it's hard to not just like turn around and flip them off as you're like walking into the
like there is like and so i i get it
um but i do think that those the celebrations in people's faces when you do have the upper
hand a little bit uh for your end game are not are not good this was for the second vote too
yeah so he knew he had the upper hand at this point he's like no matter what i do i'm the driver
yeah if it was the first vote i guess i'd be sitting there being like uh this screwball but
the second vote i think we got a clip of like linea rolling her eyes at that yeah we did
we got her rolling her eyes a couple times yeah
and then and then after kilby knows he won he's like ball out crying he's like no linea i'm so
sorry i did this to you can i hug you yeah fuck off kilby
it was pretty good there was a lot of crying this episode and i don't know if all of it was real
but top we'll start at the top these backstories so savu comes back they're all sharing backstories
you have to share a backstory when everyone else is sharing a backstory
what's the back story what's the back story what's the back story what's the back story
what's the balance here rizzo because on house of villains when they asked me what i would do with
the money and i said put in a fucking sick pool in my backyard with a bunch of stuff for my kids
it wasn't it wasn't as powerful as uh playing for two dead brothers yeah you know it honestly it
kind of went back for me too because like i was one of the people that had a pretty emotional
backstory and wanting to represent my albanian heritage wanted to represent my family my
autistic brother so like hearing everybody's stories was like it you know almost made me tear
up low-key at like nine in the morning i'm like oh man like this is this is like inspiring and to
know people's why i think in the game of survivor especially in the 26-day game you need to find
commonalities with people and telling people your why really is a great way to bond with people
because tyson i'm gonna be honest i think if i went out there at least on season 50 right because
season 49 nobody knew of the riz god and they're like i'm gonna be honest i think if i went out
so what are you gonna do with the two million and i'm like i'm this 25 year old kid i want to build
a sick ass pool with some water slides i probably don't think it goes over very very well but you
know talking about my true eyes would probably garner a little bit respect from the zero respect
i had already um so i think it was very touching to hear alexis's story ori story devon story i
thought it was very empowering especially after coming from tribal when it's pitch black outside
nothing else to do i thought it was very empowering for all of them and i know a lot of
people now are like oh survivor got so soft like blah blah blah but ultimately like survivor is a
game about social maneuvering and people bonding and then having to backstab people so i think
showing the extremes of how people bond and then showing the extremes of how they're willing to
backstab people is the purpose of survivor and i think i probably enjoy it now than a lot of the
people that played back in the day i also
we shared backstories on token chains like and you always i'm wondering what's the balance here
between too sad or too hard versus not hard enough because i think there is a balance
like if it's like too rough and they're like oh this person needs the win so bad and they will
win every jury vote just based off of their backstory they have to go at some point
versus not being sad enough and then people being like oh they didn't really open up like the rest
of us did or they already have it pretty good like there's this balance there and then you have like
the don knee hand thing where she got so vulnerable with people that she then backstabbed that it ended
up costing her victory in the end yeah i think a good example is like jenna from this season right
like jenna in theory was being a normal person she just wasn't opening up in detail about her life
yeah and that put her on the hot seat earlier on on the game i think if you were able to or you're
able to explain your story early it doesn't hurt you but if you come out in the final six and you're
like you know what i'm actually a father of five you know funny story i would have never done this
but part of me in survivor 49 really felt like if i beat savannah and fire and i come out at final
tribal council and just flub a story that was not true say like i was a father of five and like how
i'm doing this for all this just to like garner respect no one's ever done that from my knowledge
and i feel like that would have been really really good but then i would have been a piece of shit if
i lost so thank god about a father of five widower single father with a terminal illness yeah the
most the most horrific story you can come up with was something that i thought like yo that'd be
pretty crazy
but i think jeff would have looked at me and discussed and thought i was like russell hance
and never asked me back for 50 so you think i don't think so i've always wondered why someone
doesn't just completely lie at final tribal council especially about their backstory because
you'll never there's no cross-examination you're good yeah people talk about oh i'm a i'm a school
teacher hey guys i'm actually a lawyer like what is what if i'm like hey guys i'm actually like a
billion well actually i don't want to say that but like you know like i don't know say something
different like i'm actually homeless right now you know
yeah but you do have to win you're right because you're you're going to be a huge piece of shit
after this either way you need to be a piece of shit with a million dollars right exactly
i don't think so at that point yeah i mean i think there's a balance there i like obviously
telling somebody you have terminal illness uh when you don't is yeah you're gonna looked at
get looked at sideways but saying you're a father of five and you're just like scraping by and stuff
i think we're all just scraping by it's just i have to ask you obviously you played with someone
that was a back-to-back that you had known nothing about and it was russell hance yeah so how did you
and you were on the same villains tribe as him so like yeah russell hance like what did he have
like a backstory did he like yeah he told a bunch of weird backstories and we pretty much determined
they weren't true okay he was like said he was like a super successful oil tycoon guy in texas
and then he said that
during the uh during the floods in new orleans hurricane katrina yeah hurricane katrina he was
like paddling around saving people and people's dogs from rooftops and that his brother was on
biggest loser and he had a ton of stories and basically for us we were all just like
we're all in agreement nobody likes him right and we were and so then i was like well he's
not threatening if nobody likes him then i just have to make sure he likes me the most or feels
like i dislike him the least and he'll gravitate towards me so i think it's tricky because you do
say okay they're unknown let's just get rid of them because they're unknown but at the same time
you get to know them and you feel like one way or the other so it doesn't it can be a disadvantage
it can be an advantage but i do think that survivor ultimately uh you know minds can be
changed you can win people over you can turn people off and so everyone who goes in really
rigid and doesn't have that mindset of like you know you can't do anything you can't do anything
like you know getting to know people and then making your decisions based off of that uh will
have an uphill battle so did i answer your question yeah you did i know this is another
fan question i feel like the fans would want to know did russell come in telling everyone that he
won heroes or samoa uh no but he did believe he won right right okay and so i think uh
devastation on people's faces there's two people in history that absolutely believed they had won
a season and then didn't we have amanda uh from micronesia yeah she absolutely believed she had
won and we have russell from samoa who also believed he had won that season um maybe jonathan
to a lesser extent last season um i think it was more like really strong hope but i yeah yeah and
like maybe
maybe there's a chance i know i got some votes did i get enough um but yeah he believed he had
won which i think made him extra cocky moving through camp um yeah so probably sweeter to
take that second victory away from him because of that so yeah
Um, so backstories, we got to there. What about, uh, Maggie's distrust of Kristen in so much that
she's unwilling to eat coconut that is prepared by Kristen? Did I read that wrong or did she seem
extra, there was something on the tension scale there when Maggie declined the coconut.
Yeah. I, I don't know either. You know, I will say I, you know, I'm a super fan of the show,
right? But like for Kristen to know all of these things, like she knew what leaves you can put on
a bruise to heal yourself, I think would have done me justice. I probably would have needed
Kristen on 49 and 50 to teach me how to make fire. Cause she knew all these things and I'm
actually thoroughly impressed, but you know, knowing too much in survivors sometimes obviously
is a detriment because you see everybody, not, I wouldn't say everybody, but you know, a lot of
people are like, Oh my God, she's this encyclopedia. And then you see someone like Maggie,
where it's like, I don't want her in the game. I want to, I want to get rid of Kristen. And I
feel like that's a good thing. I feel like that's a good thing. I feel like Kristen's already in a precarious spot. So Maggie, I feel like Riley kind of had
your sentiment earlier where it's like, I want to lose this challenge and get her out of here
for whatever reason. I guess her providing for the tribe is threatening to Maggie. Um,
but I feel like you have that every season. People just come up with these ulterior motives
just to get somebody out. Like we saw Devin with Jenna, she's not a wedding photographer.
So like now Maggie's, you know, she's feeding my tribe and giving them too much knowledge.
I want to be that.
I don't know. I think Maggie is at risk of also getting voted out of TOCA here. If they go to
tribal council, like she's, she's thinking they're TOCA strong and wants to remain TOCA strong. But I
think in that situation, when you're the one now driving the votes against Kristen, when you're
not even going to tribal council, uh, is putting yourself out there pretty early.
Yeah. Also, she just got rid of, uh, the Brody's second vote, his extra vote and
gave it to somebody else and then told them immediately about it. So it's just like,
people are not going to like Brady's face, but we didn't, uh, hear his reaction to that,
but we definitely saw him, uh, facepalming. Is that what the kids call it? Yeah. Yeah. He did
not look happy. Yeah. So I think if I can quote Brody, I think Brody's like, she doesn't know
when to pee and piss, you know, at the same time, which yeah. Does it, do you understand Maggie here?
With like all the decisions in survivor and figuring out which, which way is up?
You know, I feel like it depends on the person, right? For me. And I know this was like a critique
in the new era for survivor. Like if you're really a super fan of the show, like you look at the game
pretty meta in the sense of like, this is what's happening. This is what's happening. My brain
through both seasons was always turning and I was trying to figure out every combination and
everything possible. So for me, the game wasn't,
it wasn't a lot to think about survivor. You make a decision and you live and die by it. Right.
And I think Maggie right now isn't realizing that, or how should I put this? Like, I think
she made her decision and giving away Brady's vote, but I don't think she realizes that it
might have some consequences later. Yeah. I also think going back and forth
a little bit can be good if you're weighing pros and cons with somebody,
but if you're just like constantly telling someone,
you don't know what you should do, that's an alarm. That's a right flag. If I have someone
that I'm trying to work with this, like, I don't know what, what should I, I was like,
let the group decide, let's chill a little bit. Even if internally you're feeling that
you have to maintain some calmness with the people who have trust in you.
Yeah. And I think that's what makes a good player that like floats the middle, like Siri,
for instance, I'll use Siri as a great example. Siri tells you just enough to make you believe
that she's with you. And I think that's what makes a good player that like floats the middle.
When she really didn't give you much, right. Siri's not like I'm with you to the end. She's
like, no, we're aligned. I agree with your point of view. I think that's something that we can do.
You know, Maggie, if you're just saying like, I don't know, like we'll figure it out. It means
that you're not trusting me and you'll figure it out with somebody else, you know? So she's got to
play a little bit more of a better balance. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Um, and then we go to Dina
before this immunity challenge and, uh, Kilby and Eric, would you fit in?
Would you fit in with those conversations? Are you, are you tracking all the things they're
talking about? Uh, for me personally? No, I think, you know, I would consider myself
nerd E and some nerd adjacent. Yeah. Nerd adjacent. But what they were talking about
is a different stratosphere. I felt like Nate, when he was on the original Uli is like cinema
fire. Like what are these kids saying? Like I'm very much in the Lewis boat here. Like
I don't really get movie references. Like I never seen star Wars, right? Like there's a lot of stuff
I'm like Lewis I've never seen or I would understand. Um, like the big comfy couch. I
don't know what the fuck that even is. So I, I would probably be, um, is that a thing? What's
a big fun, a big comfy couch? It's an old TV show, a old child's TV show about this clown
and her giant couch. I used to watch when I was like a baby. I don't really remember what
they're teaching you, but yeah. Okay. But I, you know, I had this, this problem too. And I was
like, I, I do not understand half the things that these guys are saying, but I think the way to get
around it is to always ask them, Hey, tell me about that. Tell me all about that. Get them
talking to you. Yeah. I also want to give one more thing about Lewis is that his stomach is
worrying me. He has never, he's not a coffee drinker, but he drank coffee with the group.
He just stopped puking all over pooping all over everywhere. He's going to be back to it. I'm so
he's drinking so much coffee. He's going through all this stress. His stomach's never going to make
it the 26 days. There's no way. Yeah. I like Lewis, but he does look clammy out there right
now. Poor guy. So are you saying, are you saying he's not the, the, the cooler version of you
Tyson? If being clammy is cool, he is. To be honest, looking at the show, I'm like, I feel
like Lewis is getting Island hot. Like he's looking better as it progresses. In my opinion,
I liked how he kept his buff. I think he's,
especially how he was at tribal council. You saw like the, like the roughness of him,
the edginess. He was like, it's season 51, pull some fucking rocks losers. Like I like what I'm
seeing from Lewis. Yeah. I don't mind. I actually met him in DC last week. Um, I like Lewis and I
do agree with you there, but I do think that this illness did also like, he did look frail and
clammy in moments. He looked good in moments. I feel like he's recovered. He seems like he's
it comes right back um uh we get uh i thought it was weird that kilby is definitely younger than
eric am i is that wrong uh kilby's 30 eric's maybe like 33 32 oh okay probably not too different
then i just was thinking that eric's 34 eric's 34 okay then they're the same i was thinking
because eric is referencing a lot of older bands from like the 90s and stuff and i was wondering
if kilby also understood those references um and then the last thing is uh kilby trying to
throw lewis under the bus and i quote hot take bagpipes suck is that a shot fired at ireland
uh scotland does i ireland celebrate the bagpipes like scotland does i don't uh no not really
okay it's more of a scottish thing yeah scottish so did he miss it or he was just uh out of nowhere
saying that bagpipes suck probably both i'm thinking both i wonder if lewis was like didn't
take any offense and it was like stupid america or stupid canadians don't know like anything about
you know yeah so yeah he could have been like that's actually scotland sir yeah uh and what's
the bagpipe equivalent in canada maple syrup i guess i don't know yeah
i was gonna say maple syrup does not suck i'll take maple syrup over bagpipes yeah but you could
always be like vermont maple syrup's the only way to go right you could you could you could
come up with something riley um yeah the immunity challenge anything stand out here i mean good
challenge fun water stuff i think i want to think i want to get brody yeah go ahead actually quote
brody there's macaroons in there brody that's what he said and i just really like that
as a reason to do a challenge there's macaroons in there brody like that okay i was gonna there's
macaroons in there brody i just kind of like impersonating it's just he's like always like
cracked out it's actually hilarious um but what about the more subtle uh eric are those croissants
like he tried to get get the accent in there and everything yeah so yeah speaking i guess before i
know i'll talk about the immunity challenge first but um eric also had this confessional i guess i'm
with the irish accent
yeah yeah he was like talking in like puppets or whatnot and it was like
lewis the puppet down in the pit and everyone else up looking down at him
yeah i poor poor poor lewis the puppet man had no shot yeah but the the irish accent was okay
it was pretty good um there was a lot of like symbolism between countries because when eric
voted out lewis he was like in italy we say arriva dirce i'm like damn there's a lot of
a lot of beef that we're not seeing here, you know, so yeah, so some nationalists,
is it maybe not i don't know you're prideful in their nation yeah some patriotism patriotism there
you go yeah or uh yeah patriotism to your roots i guess because eric's probably italian it seems it
um if you think i think i think so i also looked at this challenge and was like a lot of people are
sometimes a lot of people and then sometimes they don't go together a lot of t a lot of people talk
about not having enough water challenges and i was looking at this challenge and thinking
how hard it is to probably set up a water challenge you have to have everything tethered
to the bottom anchored down the water levels probably have to be a certain way which you're
watching the surf and things like that and uh this whole setup was built entirely on the water
yeah and thinking about the challenge i want to give a big shout out to mike penske your favorite
tyson the baseball
executive because he wasn't playing baseball he's playing a different sport and he was looking like
steph curry out there sinking i don't know what he shot but from the edit it looked like he only
missed like once or twice so it was pure domination and he let out like a pretty big scream like it
was like i don't know if it was just me but like it was it lasted a while it was like ah
and then like i thought he kind of over celebrated yeah then he breathed in and he's ah
so like back to it and then maggie tackled him full
she did she did yeah did i mean mike's scream definitely an over celebration you do feel good
being the star or being the closer of a challenge but also if there's a part of him that feels like
he was at risk capacity he's extra celebrating like for sure like when you feel that everybody's
against you and you end up winning the challenge and it's you personally that wins it to avoid
tribal council that calls for a little celebration
yeah for sure and i think mike mike's you know a very strategic guy he works for the biggest
organizations in sports right so like i think him knowing what his tri breakdown is he really only
has brady so he probably felt on the hot seat because carter tanon maggie all voted against him
and then you know kristen's kind of like you don't know where she is so he probably felt like you
said tyson like i needed this for safety and i clutched up um yeah i feel like that's that's it
and uh also you're new you're you're a new york yankees guy too right i i am big so who's your
football team team i'm a new york giants fan a giants fan okay i am not the jets not the jets
thank god a little less misery in my life because i saw that a bunch of survivor winners were at
the jets new england game yeah and i thought i thought of you because like if rizzo's a
jets fan what perfect opportunity to have him also
there to just wallow in the loss of the jets yeah thank thank god i you know i i can't take as much
misery as i've already taken i mean the yankees haven't won in 17 years i lost fire twice imagine
the misery that nick's finally won for the first time in my life congrats thank you thank you thank
you yeah okay um so immunity challenge and we get uh toka winning which means savu and
dina headed to tribal council and let's go to savu first it's between alexis or devon and jelly has
to decide between voting a black person out from the heli alliance or voting another woman out of
survivor which now is what six or seven women voted out of survivor in a row yeah it's pretty
wild would you vote out an albanian oh that's a good one i think that's a good one i think that's
oh that's tough tyson i i think it depends i think if they were how do i if they were like a rob and
i know you don't want to mention rob in the podcast but if i had someone that is willing to
quit on the show good riddance you know what sayonara see you later okay so if rhode island
rob was albania rob and he was trying to get out you would happily vote him out i would happily
vote him out but like if they were like someone like a savannah to me where i can trust them with
my life in the game i probably would never vote him out but like if they were like someone like a
savannah to me where i can trust them with my life in the game i probably would never vote
him out and they were albanian and they were albanian yeah yeah i think back to my grandpa
who was greek and anybody who was greek in politics in any capacity he was like that's my
guy he's greek and it's like okay just because he has a funny last name that's like too long
like that's your uh but like you do like you have these uh allegiances and you these cultural
similarities and it's so hard i don't know what to say about it i don't know what to say about it i
don't know what to say about it i don't know what to say about it it's like an extra layer of this
social game you're playing plus knowing people are going to watch this yeah ashley what decision
are you making here um so i've been thinking about this a little bit longer than normal
and i would i'd vote out alexis uh originally i was like oh that's amazing that they're going
the heli alliance is like keeping strong the black people are staying together that's fantastic
but like it is hard to decide about that kind of thing you know you want to support your women
your fellow women and keep them in the game but then like let's look at alexis she did mention
jelly last episode so hopefully i wish they would have showed a little bit more of that process as
well it's not just about you know female versus you know one minority versus another minority in
terms of her morality compass it's more about who would who would keep jelly on i mean you know what
ori would pick jelly hands down devin would pick jelly hands down to stay yeah would alexis no
she would pick ori to be to stay so i wish that they would have showed more of that process in
her brain because for her game it's probably for the best to get rid of alexis because alexis
is a really good game player so she would have if jelly was in the way jelly would have been next
immediately so yeah i also think that jelly has the helicopter alliance has other people
other tribes and so you can't target a helicopter alliance without the approval of everyone else
otherwise now they can't trust you yeah so then it's totally disbanded so you're in charge of
blowing that up and to blame and now you have other people from the helicopter alliance not
trusting you and maybe even being their target so i do believe that she made the right move for
her game um the other thing is it you know the show paints it as
we we get jelly deciding but it's not solely her decision right they didn't show a conversation
really between her and ori but the two of them definitely decided together which way they were
going to do because there was no way they were ever going to let it be a two-two vote and then
it becomes rocks between the two of them like that's obviously completely off the table so
jelly and ori decided on this together and i will say ultimately i think it's tough because
jelly made the right
decision because devon has been outwardly like she's my girl no matter what and like you need
that person right like it ultimately jelly knows that devon is her plus one but you don't need them
to advertise it to everybody that is very true but i think devon i kind of compared devon to joe
a little bit but devon is like more of an extrovert joe like if you look at both of the seasons you
knew who joe was with it's just devon's kind of like i'm with them and not with you which is not
what you want but if you have something like that it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like
somebody that you can play around like a devon i think it'll be a little bit more predictable so
i think devon is a predictable player in the sense that like everybody will always know they're with
jelly um so jelly made the right move keeping devon now ori on the other hand if we're looking
at long term i don't know because like now he's giving jelly all the power if they lose tribal
again or if they go to tribal again right because devon's always going to pick jelly if ori's going
to pick jelly who's jelly going to pick you know what i mean so it leaves him susceptible
do you in this modern era of survivor modern era sorry some people uh made fun of the way i said
era era do you look long term like that like should ori be saying if we go to tribal council
as a three-pack uh is it me next like yeah i think for me i that's the only way you can look
at it right i think it's the best way to position yourself to make the next step of the game
obviously when you swap your next goal is to make it to merge and then when you make it to merge
your next goal is to make it to top seven and then the finale and then top three right so like you
got to look at the game as building blocks because for ori to think the helicopter alliance will be
the final four well guess what if you go to tribal again that's not going to happen so you have to
figure out the best way to position yourself to make the next step of the game but who knows maybe
they win the next challenge and this isn't a worry but you have to think worst case scenario every
time yeah yeah i agree let's go to tribal council let's go to tribal council let's go to tribal council
tribal council here and back to ori he is masking his part in the heli alliance so well
is it too good like because alexis is believing fully that ori is with her she has no she we
don't see it on camera where she even doubts or considers that he's with the other two
in any capacity and that's good for an alliance
but is it too good for a tribal council to make the next step of the game
is there any part of that alliance is like wow he sold that so hard to alexis when is he going to make that same pitch to me
and I will not see it coming.
I think, you know, Tyson,
I'll speak from my experience from season 49
because I kind of had that with Savannah and Sophie.
I just was kind of like blind loyal to them.
I was like, listen, like, it will never go wrong.
And luckily, it didn't go wrong.
Watching back this season
and seeing how many times Sophie almost backstabbed Savannah,
and I was like, oh, damn,
like maybe I was a little too trusting.
But I think when it's your first experience playing Survivor,
you're so bonded with these people.
And because the Heli Alliance was there since day one,
and it's been proven to be loyal to each other.
I mean, we see Devin and Sharonda get the extra vote.
I'm sure Devin told Ori like, hey, this is what happened.
So like, they're all locked in.
I don't think they're thinking, oh man, like Ori's too good.
And I want to give Ori his flowers because Ori,
I think in the beginning of the season,
we had like a clip where he's like,
I don't know what I'm doing here.
I'm not really a Survivor fan.
And for him to pull this off shows that he's a quick learner
and somebody that's pretty good socially.
So I want to give Ori his flowers there.
But I think if you ask a smart player
or a multi-time player what you said, Tyson,
they would be asking those questions.
Like if I went, played Survivor again or whatever,
I would think like, whoa, like Ori's a little too good at this.
But for your first experience,
I don't know if that's something that these people are thinking.
Instead of more like, Ori, good shit.
We just got ourselves to the next round.
Yeah, you're thinking it as a full positive
rather than a threat at all.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I can agree with that.
But Devin's, or Devin, not Devin's, Devin.
Are his tears real here at Tribal Council?
He's an actor.
That's his thing.
Is he putting on extra or is that all him?
And does he understand what type of man we see him being on Survivor?
Because he's claiming he's filled with integrity and loyalty.
He hasn't said either of those words that often.
But he does seem to hold himself,
to this higher standard of honesty
while also deceiving a lot of people.
It's tough.
You know, I think to quote Devin,
he calls it weaponized honesty.
And I think a good Survivor player does weaponize honesty, right?
Because how do you blindside people?
You get their trust, make them feel comfortable,
and then you stab them in the back.
I will lead to believe,
as somebody that was an infamous crier on both of his seasons,
that there's just something with Survivor
where you don't really want to cry
and then you start talking,
and then you're like,
oh shit, now I'm emotional.
So I think Devin, what he did was truthful,
at least at Tribal Council, right?
Maybe back at camp, there's some waterworks going on.
But when you talk about people's stories
and talk about the depth that these people have,
talking about Ori's background, Alexis' background,
this is not like light things, right?
Alexis is talking about being sober for 10 years
and talking about her background.
These are heavy things, right?
So I think Devin was ultimately just spewing his thoughts
and then ultimately,
it's like, oh my God, this makes me emotional.
Like I said, I was kind of emotional watching it
because it got me back into that moment
where I'm thinking like pitching myself
and talking in fire when I lose in fire, right?
I was so happy about the experience
and then you talk about your experience
and you're like, damn, my experience is over.
I'm super, super sad.
So I think Devin coming to the realization
that someone's story is coming to an end
made him emotional.
So I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Yeah, I agree.
I think all the backstories were emotional
and then you do also look at,
and again, I think, you know,
my sad story of not having a super kick-ass pool
in my backyard right now.
I don't know if Devin would cry over that.
Yeah, it's true.
Can I be honest, guys?
Yeah.
I think the tears were fake from Devin.
I think they're real.
Okay.
I think he felt something,
but you have to feel something to be an actor.
You have to feel something.
You have to gather sad stories.
You have to gather sad feelings and cry
I do think that it,
I don't know.
I just don't know.
After hearing about him crying with Jenna
and then being able to veer off
and celebrating after Tribal that she was gone
in front of everybody.
Yeah.
That makes me go, I don't know.
He did celebrate a lot.
He was like on his knees like,
hallelujah.
It's also so funny because
Jenna's like the least threatening person to his game.
Right.
And if he's like now looking like,
oh, I've got over my one adversary in this whole thing.
Like that's, that's a crazy perspective.
You think Jenna would like slash his tires on his car
and like let him stray?
Like she's out to get him.
And she literally has none of that in her blood whatsoever.
Yeah.
I, Ashley, I think that there is merit there for sure.
Especially when everyone else is getting emotional
and you do feel something.
You're like, okay, lean into this as hard as I can right now
because everyone else is getting emotional
and I also need to show emotion in this moment.
Otherwise I look like a robot.
Versus when nobody's crying and you don't want to cry,
you just sing Rage Against the Machine in your head
and it goes away.
The urge to cry goes away.
Is that a personal story that you're telling us right now?
Yeah.
I would use Rage Against the Machine to not cry.
I would use Rage Against the Machine to not cry in moments.
Yeah.
So yeah, I think, I think the tears were real,
but I do also think Ashley, he leaned into it to get it going.
We'll, we'll know at some point
if we remember to ask him about crying.
Next we go to Dina
and we pretty much already covered everything on that tribe.
Did we miss it?
Did we miss anything before we go to their tribal council?
I don't think so.
Did we talk about the,
we talked a little bit about the blood ring at all.
Yeah.
Would it have worked better if Christian didn't have,
would it have worked?
Like not worked better.
Would it have worked?
Would people fully believe it if Christian wasn't there?
Because Eric said, I think it's real.
Sharonda initially was like, it's not real.
And then when Eric was like, I think it's real.
She's like, oh, probably is.
I have kind of, kind of two,
two questions about this, I guess.
One is that because Louis doesn't have a piece of parchment
that says what the ring does,
does that just like deeply, deeply damage
whatever story he's telling about it?
Like you can't, if you don't have it written down on paper,
it's like, come on, what is this trinket?
You say it was written down on a board at the journey
and you couldn't take it with you by design.
Okay.
I still feel like that, that feels a little sus, but okay.
Sure.
Then try and vote me out.
I leave because guess what?
We'll both be gone.
Try it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
But then the, so the other question,
so we get him telling this and kind of like,
I feel like Sharonda,
Sharonda is immediately like,
this looks like something you were wearing.
And basically I don't trust you anymore.
And then Christian's immediately like,
oh, he told the story about this ring.
So we know it's fake.
We kind of immediately get it revealed to us
that the Sabu's suss out that this ring is not real.
But we also get Eric saying, I'm pretty sure it's real.
So my question is.
Yes.
If the, if Maggie does not arrive with the extra votes
that are like the, the life ring for Lewis and Kilby,
does the show then play it up?
Like Sabu believes that this thing is real
and they cut all that stuff
where they're doing skepticism about it.
Is this something that like the players would have played up
as like, yeah, maybe.
Cause then it like makes the story
and the vote a little more like up in the air.
And yeah, like to add some suspense.
And then we, we only get their honest,
like this thing's totally fake reaction
because there later is something else
that then makes the vote suspenseful.
I will say, I really do like what Lewis did
because Survivor really is just,
I know we hate saying this,
but like Jeff says, it's like a game of,
it's like theater, right?
It's who can sell the best lie.
And I kind of compare this to my game in Survivor 49.
You know, watching the show, you know,
I listened to you guys and everyone's like,
how the hell is Rizzo like doing,
but it ultimately comes down
to like playing up people's fears.
Like you need to realize
where people get self-conscious and get anxious.
So if you, kind of what Tyson just did with you, Riley,
if you say, all right, you want to vote me out,
vote me out.
I'll play the idol on myself.
You want to vote Savannah out?
I'll play the idol on Savannah, then you go home.
Is that what you want?
No.
So let's work together and not make that happen.
Lewis can kind of pull that off with the blood ring.
It's like Lewis probably gave Sharonda this ring
because he felt like Sharonda had the most agency.
So Lewis can go and say,
Sharonda, listen, I have to give this to somebody.
You can choose to believe me or not,
but I just want to let you know,
if I am the easy vote, so be it.
We'll enjoy Ponderosa together.
And then just kind of leave it at that
and let her kind of spiral.
Like we saw her do with Eric.
If Christian wasn't this alibi, who knows?
Maybe we see Sharonda say, you know what?
Like, I don't want to take the risk of me going home.
Even if it's not real,
we still have Kilby who we can easily vote out.
So I could see a world where it saves him,
but because Maggie comes,
you know, we don't really get the focus on the blood ring
because they're just like, it doesn't really matter.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, I think that's accurate.
I think if there's even a 1% chance in your mind
that that blood ring is real,
you just target Kilby.
Like, okay, we'll just not, like it's perfect.
And then go from there.
So I think-
But then they didn't target Kilby.
So I guess there wasn't a 1% chance that it was real.
Correct.
It's fake.
- Yeah.
And I think we see that with the Christian of it all.
Like if Christian wasn't there,
because if I'm Sharonda with this lie, right?
If I keep Louis, this blood ring is my idol.
So like, what do I have to lose?
And if it's nothing, then whatever.
We can target Louis for being a liar.
So I think it's a win-win for Sharonda,
but obviously with Christian being there
and saying like, no, it's totally false,
they weren't worried about it.
Yeah.
So we got two benefits from that
is we got from the benefits,
Savu benefited because Christian heard
about the ring in advance
and Christian benefited
because he finally got some airtime.
Airtime, yeah.
Sorry, Christian.
You're probably, your episode's probably next.
Not where you get voted out,
but where all of a sudden you are the narrator.
Well, Tyson, I gotta bring something up.
If I remember,
if I remember correctly,
you're originally from Utah, right?
Correct.
He's also from Utah.
Well, Christian's also from Utah.
You got it, you got it, you got it.
Stand by my boy.
Is he a winner pick?
No, he's not.
Oh, damn.
I want Utah people to do well,
but also I'm happy being Utah's favorite son.
Yeah.
Todd Herzog's there too in Utah,
so if Todd had played more times,
it would be a competition for sure.
Tribal.
We get these guys at Tribal, Dina.
Spell Linnea for us.
Oh my gosh.
This was incredible.
This was the best part,
is every single person.
I love that everyone had to write Linnea's name down
like three times each.
Unbelievable.
And I liked,
Lewis actually spelled it differently
on each parchment on purpose,
which was hilarious.
And then I think people,
once they saw the votes the first time,
got even more creative
because I think there was one with three Y's in it.
Yes, I think it was Kilby saying Linnea.
Linnea.
Which doesn't have a Y in it.
Usually I write these down in my notes
how they spell them on the parchment
just because I get a kick out of it.
And if I did that all correctly,
nobody got her name.
Nobody got even close.
No one even got Lewis's name.
They all spelled Lewis's name wrong too.
Yeah, they all spelled that one wrong.
I think like one person got his name right,
but otherwise it was mostly O-U-I-S.
So you don't get,
there's a lot of opportunity in Survivor
to ask someone how to spell their name.
But on the re-vote,
Kilby would have,
you don't want to ask someone.
Kilby would have hit a home run here
asking Linnea how to spell her name
on the second vote as he's going,
Linnea, how do you spell it?
Because I want to get it right this time.
And then he never runs to the voting booth.
Yeah.
Yeah, that would have been,
that would have been a serious or a gamble
that I think would have paid off.
I think so too.
I think so.
And he knew he had the total,
the total strong arm.
Like there was no way
three of those people are going to rocks.
No way.
There's no way.
I agree.
If you're kicking them in the dirt already,
might as well hit the gut punch.
Yeah.
Kind of like what Savannah did with Jawan,
where she knew Jawan was going home.
She's like,
Jawan, you did this to me?
Knowing that she was going to,
yeah, I think Kilby should have done that.
Even though I like Linnea,
so like for Linnea's ego,
I don't want that.
But for TV gold,
it would have been good.
Right.
Well, Tyson,
I actually want to ask you a question.
Yes.
So I've never been voted out of Survivor,
so I guess I don't know.
But if you saw your name on parchment,
all spelt incorrectly,
like abysmal,
are you going to Jeff and saying,
Jeff, I'm not voted out.
I don't know who the fuck that was on my parchment.
I'm not going out to that.
Yeah.
I think like the problem here,
like I do agree.
That's great.
You lose.
Everything goes blurry.
You're just like blind rage
and all the things you had planned.
Like I remember Token Sheens,
they were like,
what happens if it's you?
And I was like fucking kicking over everybody's chair
and blowing out all the torches,
dumping water on shit.
I don't give a fuck.
And then you get there and it's like,
Tyson, Tyson,
you see two votes for you,
you know, you're done.
Like the first vote,
you're like, okay,
that's the person we were all targeting.
The second vote,
you're like, oh,
so, you know,
and you're just like seething
and all the things that you thought
or said you were going to do.
You like,
just like,
it's a weird brain fart
where literally you can't even think.
You can't think of what you should do
because you're also like,
I want to rage,
but also I don't even know how to rage
as hard as I want to rage
because I've never had to rage that hard.
And then you're just like dumbfounded.
So,
I think it would be funny for sure.
But I think in that moment,
you're just so shocked.
It's like,
it's,
it's,
yeah,
it is like real shock.
Like when you,
something traumatic happens to you
and you're like,
what happened?
They're like,
you're just in shock.
You don't,
like that's,
it is truly a form of that.
If it's a true blind side,
you are in real shock.
So,
if someone spelled the T-I-E-S-E-N,
Tyson.
Probably in the moment,
I'd be like,
that's wrong.
I think I would like,
I would definitely say something,
but it would be right as that vote came out.
Like if Linnea had been like,
incorrect,
wrong,
F plus,
nope.
Like then that's,
I think you could do that.
I think having the,
yeah,
I think,
but having it be too contrived
or too much,
I,
you're just in so much shock
in that moment.
Yeah,
it's true.
It's like,
what happened?
Where did I go wrong?
How did I go wrong?
How do I now articulate my feelings
without looking too angry,
but angry enough?
Like there's a lot to it.
So,
I think it's tricky,
but it could have been good
if she would have just stayed sitting there
and been like,
yeah,
me?
Cause I didn't see my name once.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Linea with a Y.
Yeah.
What if,
here we go.
Your vote only counts on Survivor
if you spell it correctly.
So now you have to ask people
how to spell their name.
Yeah.
That's a big advantage
for like the Linneas
and a big disadvantage
Well, you just get a bunch of wonky,
for like the mics.
You get a bunch of wonky names out there.
Yeah.
I don't know.
People would do pretty well.
People would try to do
two Z's and I think I'd do it
by a little bit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Ashley, you'd do pretty well.
Ashley would do great.
All the time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No one knows how to spell my name.
I just live like this.
So you do.
I feel like it creates a problem.
Like it'd be like,
hey guys,
we're voting Linnea or Mike.
Like our votes only count
if we spell them correctly.
Yeah, but if you're on that season,
if you're on that season,
you have to assume Mike
is not how you normally spell it.
So you're like,
uh,
M-I-C-K-E-M-I-
It's not the Y.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
M-Y-K-E.
Like you have to assume.
Yeah, it's true.
You put like one or two
regular names on there,
but everybody gets them wrong
because they're trying.
And you could also like lie
about how your name is spelled.
It's kind of like
a lot of fans are like,
I want a season where
everyone starts off with an idol,
but instead this season is like
you walk in and you have
a parchment saying,
the only way a vote counts
is if you spell these people's names right.
And it's like,
like you said, Tyson,
some weird ass spelling.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Maybe you only get a
clue to that earlier.
So like not everybody
has that information initially.
Yeah.
So as the tribe goes
to tribal council,
like it's,
you get a clue there.
Maybe it's just a twist
for one tribal too.
Maybe it's not every time.
Maybe it's just like
for your vote to count,
it must be spelled correctly.
Listen, we got Jeffrey in the back.
He's listening.
We're pitching ideas here.
Oh, he's listening.
Didn't even see him there.
Anything else before we get to Riley?
Riley's reads.
Any, any more thoughts Rizzo
on, on the episode that we missed?
No, I thought it was a great,
great tribal council.
Honestly, I would have loved to see rocks,
but it makes sense to why
Sharonda Christian and Eric didn't do it.
I think Lewis and Kilby long,
or I guess, well,
I guess we'll save it for Riley's reads.
I really liked the tribal council
justice for Linnea and Alexis.
Yeah.
Riley, what do we got?
Well, one, one thing that maybe Rizzo,
maybe you know about this piece,
actually Tyson,
maybe you know about this piece of survivor lore.
When Alexis said that we debated
all writing down Jeff's name,
do you guys know that that's happened already?
Yeah, season one.
Yeah, season one.
Back in Borneo.
Yeah.
He just made everybody go revote.
Yeah, this is a Jervis story.
If we have Jervis on the pod again,
we'll have to ask him to tell it.
But yeah, Jeff didn't find it as funny,
I guess is what I've understood about that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Not as funny this time.
Hot take, I wouldn't want to even vote out Jeff,
to be honest.
That kind of ruins the fun, right?
Like I want to ruin someone's dreams.
I don't know, like maybe that's just me,
but it's like voting out Jeff for solidarity,
like what's going to happen?
We're still a one in five shot away from being a billionaire.
But what if it's your dream that's going to be extinguished?
Would you prolong it by voting Jeff first?
I would just play my shot in the dark
and pray to the heavens, you know?
In a tribe of four, can you play your shot in the dark?
Yeah, you have until the final seven to play it.
No, I understand that.
But with such a small tribe,
you giving up your vote could be the determining factor.
That's true.
Like it gets very difficult to play a shot in the dark
on a small tribe.
For sure.
At that point, I would just flub a fake idol
that I don't have.
But yeah, I agree.
So, okay, Riley, what do we got?
All right.
Who advanced their game the most this episode?
For me, it's very easy.
I think Lewis did a great job.
I think Lewis obviously got Kilby to make three new enemies.
So even if they do lose,
I think they're going to,
I think they're going to target Kilby over Lewis.
And I think Lewis is in a good spot
because if they survive next year,
tribal or even if they go to tribal i think kilby's on the hot seat and even if he survives i
think he's going to reunite with maggie and say maggie like i did what you wanted with your extra
votes are we still good and then he'll be in whatever group maggie's and so i think lewis
advanced himself the most um yeah like that i he definitely got lucky with maggie showing up
but he also because everyone on that tribe was targeting him he can go back to those people and
be like we weren't aligned last time let's align this time kilby doesn't have that because he
already betrayed him so yeah lewis is not counted as a betrayal which i think a lot of times when
you look at survivor like that happens constantly like if you're not the source of betrayal you can
always come back together with that group um so i like that i was gonna say alexis as i was watching
alexis navigate before she got voted out i was like she did it she might have done enough work
to actually convince jelly to vote devon out so i had noted alexis at that point um but now
you know i i i'm also
i'm i'm gonna say lewis as well i mean jelly stayed the course by keeping devon and not
creating uh enemies or having the helicopter alliance implode when it looked like she was
kind of questioning it but i think lewis did the most i think he thought outside the box
used what he had and also got lucky
yeah ashley ashley i'm gonna say lewis as well and i also for all those points but i also want
to give him one cool point for how he was during the entire tribal it definitely gave me tyson
vibes the way he was sitting there just like laughing at the fact that kilby was destroying
all of his alliances with everybody and he's just going yeah do the rocks do the rocks if you want
to i don't know what do you want to get i think that was so fun um i think it's this is my favorite
lewis episode for sure right now and i do want to comment on that because i i have pretty good
memory but i don't remember a time where we were deadlocked where the person that was had the votes
against them being so out of control and they were like oh my god i don't know what to do with this
being so outwardly like no no like go to rocks go to rocks right like i don't i don't remember
blood versus water and millennials versus gen x or other times where like you know who who did
you cast the votes for on blood oh hayden right like i guess hayden did it but i don't remember
another time where someone who was vulnerable like lewis saying like no like you need to pull a rock
you know so i really enjoyed that aggressive style of gameplay i also do want to give a shout out to
maggie because obviously maggie was the one that really put this plan in motion and ultimately i
think the person she wanted out and being linea did go home well let's talk about maggie there
uh because we did not really discuss her volunteering to go in the first place yeah
good move bad move i think depends on how she handles the aftermath obviously we saw her come
back to camp and was like outwardly like i just gave them both my extra votes and told them to
target linea so like i don't know if that is the right move but i think volunteering is the right
move but i think volunteering yourself now i mean after seeing 49 and 50 and seeing that people
don't really lose their votes and journeys as much as probably what you want to do i think mike
and kristin both realized like hey i'm on the bottom let me go shake up the game and maggie
obviously probably not aligned with either of them through a wrench in the plan i'm curious to
see if carter manipulated the draw to have maggie go or if maggie just got lucky by the survivor
gods but i think overall for maggie it's probably the right play to go in the first place and i think
it's probably the right play because she's maybe trying to gain some agency and now look like lewis
and kilby are indebted to her so she at least gets two great allies there the thing that i don't
understand about maggie's play is that she burns i guess she had to give one of the votes away the
other one she could have saved on and she's so adamant she's like it has to be linea going
because i got a bad vibe from her from day one like that's it that's the only reasoning for her
targeting linea and i think that's the only reason for her to go in the first place because she's
and i don't know i just don't i don't love that it's not like it's oh this is somebody who who is
on my tribe who i can't work with who i have you know who we've been at odds with i'll get away
i'll get somebody out who you know was never going to be an ally to me it's like how do you know you
wouldn't have worked with linea why is that so it's that bad after like the two hours you spent
on the beach on the first day that's crazy she doesn't know how to spell linea and she didn't
want to yeah you know a funny story actually
you say that not that i ever in season 50 i was like really closely aligned with genevieve we just
didn't get to see it much because she went home in the blood moon but like i would make jokes in
my confessional where i wanted to go to the end with genevieve because like honestly like i don't
really know how to spell genevieve how many e's how many i's are in there so yeah i don't want
to do that so might as well work with her so oh if you saw my notes if you saw my notes from the
last uh how long have you been doing this now 11 seasons yeah this is our
this is our 10th no this is our 11th season yeah 11th season that we've covered the show here the
pot has spoken and if you look through my notes at all the ways i've spelled everybody's name
it's just like i try the first time but then i just like in the moment while i'm typing it's not
i don't care about as long as it phonetically it's correct to me when i look at the notes
then we count it so i was like to one lucky bidder out there you can have all of my notes from every
episode of the pot has spoken that i've ever created maybe we'll put them all into a book
um but i like it when we get down to the the like when there's only a few people left if each person
has a different their name starts in a different letter then i just start putting them in as like
l you know and yeah as i'm taking notes and then that one season uh was it 49 that had like
eight people whose names started with s it was like the two sophies and the what yeah yeah
yeah didn't work that season killed me that killed killed my note-taking if casting is listening
different first letters come on guys um what else what else do we have uh right you didn't tell us
did you tell us who advanced their game the most oh i think it's lewis for sure and then i'll also
shout out mike for winning that challenge when he was clearly on the bottom of his tribe and
yeah i'm gonna go home unbeknownst or maybe be known but to us we didn't know that he was
if he didn't know he was going home and he still reacted with like the six consecutive
yes yells at full volume then that's all that's a lot but um at any rate uh one way or the other
he saved himself shout out mike curry that's it yankees yankees through and through yeah uh who
damaged their game the most uh i mean i think the answer is pretty obvious i think it's obviously
killby and listen i i gotta give killby props i think my sentiment i felt like made it onto the
show a little bit where jeff was like you don't play for second place you don't play for fourth
place i was notorious for saying that and i think lewis and kill me and all of them felt that
sentiment they're like hey like whether i'm 15th or second i'm here to win but unfortunately when
you have that mindset sometimes you can make ill-advised decisions and this might be one of
those ill-advised decisions where kill me is like maybe wants to make a tv
moment instead of thinking like hey i don't want to burn these people so he was just you know
standing on business like he said where he's like i don't care you're picking a rock with me i'm not
folded and now he's got more people upset at him than he already had previously so i definitely
think he'll be hurt his game but it made good tv so yeah so i'm not disagreeing with you but i'm
saying if the savu group is that tight and killby was willing to go against them and then they come
merge and it's known to everyone how tight savu is aren't they going to be the first targets
it's possible now let me ask you this because i feel like there might have been an opportunity
that killby and lewis flubbed i think if they had all this power why not before tribal go to eric
show the extra votes yeah go to eric and say buddy you're gonna be drawn rocks this is us
building trust with you if you want to bring sharonda to flip that's not going to happen
that's fine bring your plus one let's be this new majority four i think that is the play they
should have done because if you show them the votes like you said tyson you you won right what
are they going to do you know what i mean you show them the votes and then you keep the votes for
later you don't even have to play them at that point exactly i agree i think there was an
opportunity that killby could have really helped his game um lewis was on the hot seat so lewis
just did whatever helped him but if i was killed i would have said hey we're winning tonight let's
go big feet like theater whatever like come with us yeah it doesn't need to be a war right now we
can come together and this is the new group um absolutely eric 100 is falling for that
like how could you not you have to like i'm not i'm going to be the one drawing rocks
no um and then at that point you get whoever you want you literally could have it could have been a
unanimous vote right there right if they would have just wielded those votes like they could
have just wielded those votes like they could have just wielded those votes right if they would have
just wielded those votes right if they would have just wielded those votes right if they would have
sat down the whole tribe and said yeah i agree we have two extra votes
you guys decide which of you four is going home
and then come to us and let us know.
Because at least you'll get a little bit of favor this way
instead of them being blindsided.
Now they're like chickens with their head cut off
trying to figure out who to go.
And they're going to be upset at each other
because they're like,
wow, Christian's going to throw me under the bus?
What the fuck?
Yeah, yeah.
That would have been amazing.
What could have been?
For me, who furthered their game the most,
or what are we on right now?
Who flubbed their game the most?
Yeah, Kilby maybe, but I don't know.
I think still people aren't threatened by Kilby.
I also think that there is some merit
to going against the tightest, obvious bond.
Because when the merge happens,
those tightest bonds,
the biggest group with the tightest bond
is going to be the target of everyone else.
Like you got to break that group up if you can.
So I think it will not backfire on Kilby fully,
unless they go to tribal council again,
as this small group.
And who else?
I think Devin is also not doing his game any favors
by telling everyone that he's not going to ever betray Jelly.
That's his number one, no matter what.
I think that's a dangerous game to play.
So it's dangerous for both of them too, to be honest.
It could go either way.
But yeah.
Just to have someone else out there,
I'm going to say Devin was a little loosey-goosey with his alliance.
And what's interesting is I'm pretty sure,
but Jelly still hasn't told Devin about her idol.
So whenever that comes about,
if she decides not to tell him,
I wonder how Devin's going to feel that Jelly had this idol.
Devin's willing to risk his life for her,
but she wasn't willing to tell him his secrets.
I wonder if that changes anything in the future.
Yeah.
I mean, whenever you have to,
you tell Devin, you just say you just barely found it.
Yeah.
So, Ashley, who you got?
I'm going to say Maggie.
I think it wasn't the right decision
to give her second extra vote to Kilby and Louis,
especially since they didn't, like you said,
they should have told everybody.
They could have told Eric about it.
They brought him in.
I think by them not doing that,
it's created, if they mention Maggie's name,
it's going to create more,
people against Maggie.
Like Maggie did all that.
She gave you an extra vote as well.
What the fuck, right?
So now more people are going to look at Maggie's halfway,
like to the side, side, side eye her.
And then on her own tribe,
you have like Brady and a few other people
who are mad at her already for giving away her,
her extra vote that Brady thought that it belonged to him.
And instead of keeping it for some big vote
that she wants to go against Brady in the future,
now it's gone.
So she doesn't have anything above Brady.
And it's,
so that's two big alliances
that are kind of like side-eyeing Maggie
for her decision since it was,
it was such a short-term satisfaction
getting rid of Linnea.
She should have just waited a little longer,
I think, with that extra vote.
Yeah, I,
the blowback that we're envisioning Kilby
is going to receive could all come back on Maggie,
to be honest.
Like that Savu group could be like,
this is Maggie's fault to begin with.
And it's also like,
there's also an element too where
this is like,
this is such an aggressive move
that she shares with people too.
And it's like based on a snap judgment, right?
She's like,
oh, you know,
I spent like just that first impression with Linnea.
She's got to go.
And I'm going to pull every stop
for the craziest tribal ever to get her to go.
I'd be sitting there thinking,
could I be on the receiving end of that eventually?
Like, is Maggie one day going to be like,
Riley's dead and just goes all out to get me?
Like, she's just,
I don't know.
I feel like she's painted herself
as a bit unreliable here too.
Well, and you have to keep her away from,
now you have to keep her away from Lewis
and Kilby as well.
You're like, they're indebted to her.
If they all come back together,
that's a three pack we have to separate.
And you know what I thought about now
that it didn't come into my mind,
but Kilby actually told the tribe anyways
that he got an extra vote from Maggie.
So I don't know why he just didn't say,
and Lewis got another one as well,
because if you're going to say half the truth,
you might as well go all in.
So that's why I feel like Kilby
could have definitely improved his game a little bit.
That's why I have him for most loved.
Yeah.
I think they enjoyed the theatrics of it.
For sure.
And I think Lewis maybe in his mind
knew that it probably would be more powerful
to tell people,
but I think the Lewis of it all is like,
let's just make it crazy.
When I met him in DC,
he was like,
something you always said on the podcast,
Tyson, stuck with me,
is like, you don't have full control
of whether or not you're going to win the game.
Like things happen,
you don't know,
but you do,
you have control of being a character on the show.
And he's like,
so I made sure to be a character on the show
and hopefully things work out.
So yeah, that's advice for people.
Like you can control one a little bit more
than you can control the other.
And I do want to piggyback off that
because I'd like to think
I was a character on the show too.
I know some people,
at least, I don't know,
I've talked to old schoolers,
new schoolers, new era people,
and some people are like,
back in my day,
like we didn't try to,
we didn't want to be characters.
We just were characters.
And to me, I just,
I'm not going to throw nobody out there,
but I feel like you might know who that is.
I won't throw shots
because I don't want this person's wrath,
but if they know, they know.
But ultimately,
I feel like that's horseshit
because no shade,
but the people that used to play back in the day
were like people that should have been actors,
but didn't become actors
and then went on reality TV.
And now people want to be influencers,
can't be influencers,
they get on reality TV.
So ultimately,
the people that get on these shows
are people with big personalities.
So when you get on these shows,
just showcase that,
you know what I mean?
So I agree with you, Tyson.
I tell people all the time,
like when they are trying out for the show,
I'm like,
American Idol is to singing
as Survivor is to personality.
For sure, I agree.
That's literally all they're looking for
is this big personality.
Now they're looking for a compelling story
and a person who's compelling on TV.
But yeah,
it's a personality
contest.
I actually had Sierra Reid
accuse Survivor
of being a personality contest.
I think on the season,
I was like,
yeah, that's exactly
what we're doing here.
Like at the end,
you vote for the greatest personality.
Like that's,
it is a personality contest.
Where are we at, Riley?
I think we were still talking about
who damaged their game the most,
but I also have Kilby.
So let's do winner picks.
Rizzo,
do you have a winner?
Do you have a winner pick?
Did you have one from the get-go?
Is it already gone?
Are they still here?
So I had one from the get-go.
Unlike you, Tyson,
I have my state pride.
And before the season started,
I saw a New York Yankees guy on the season.
I very much so put all my eggs
in Mike Pinsky's basket.
I am team Pinsky for the Winsky.
And listen, I must admit,
it's really rocky road right now.
Really, really rough.
Being called a bottom feeder,
whatever he's getting called,
is not a good look.
It's bogus.
They called him bogus.
Yeah, bogus.
But there's always a good,
or like, what a better comeback story
than coming back from on the bottom.
I got my hopes that Mike Pinsky is bringing the win.
If the Yankees can't do it,
Mike Pinsky can.
And if not, then it is what it is.
I'm not one that changes my winner pick every week.
So I'm riding with my guy, Mike Pinsky.
Okay.
So you'd never vote out a Yankees fan?
Oh, no, that's, no.
I would vote out my own mother if I had.
But I'm hoping for him to win.
Is Mike getting you free Yankees tickets?
Is he putting your feet in the dirt there
behind the dugout or behind the backstop?
I wish.
I wish.
I haven't gotten anything.
But if Mike wins,
then that might be my gift for supporting him.
So I will say this, though.
My winner pick and who I think is playing the best
are two different things.
But because I stand on business,
Mike Pinsky is my winner pick.
Okay, who's your true winner pick?
Who's playing the best, yeah.
Yeah.
Who I think is playing the best?
Who's lined up the best currently?
Yeah.
I would say, honestly, probably Sharonda.
I just think with the Helicopter Alliance
and her not being in anybody's targets
and like, I guess not this Tribal Council,
but the one time we saw her run a Tribal Council
when Anna went home,
I felt like we saw her perspective and everything.
So as of this moment, I think Sharonda's probably playing.
I think Jelly's playing really good, too, honestly.
But I think she's had the luxury of having Devin with her
now, but I think in terms of, like, fluidity,
I think Sharonda's doing a good job.
Yeah, I think Jelly's exposed a bit here with Devin
claiming her as his ride or die
and having to go to war and having this battle.
It's always exposing.
Anytime you have to go to a Tribal Council
with a small group and you're having to draw lines
and having to kind of fight for your life, too.
Yeah, okay.
Okay, so Mike,
because he's. He's a Yankees guy.
I still am with Kristen.
She's got this war brewing with Maggie, maybe.
But can Maggie garner enough of a following
to make that stick?
I kind of don't think so.
I think Brady Brody is not with her, with Maggie.
So, yeah, I'm staying with Kristen.
She definitely has some work to do,
but she hasn't really made,
mistakes like we haven't watched
her make a ton of mistakes other than she knows everything about living in Fiji for some curious
reason. So yeah, that's it. And I, Brazil, I studied like everything. I figured out where
we were going because at the time Rizzo, you didn't know where you were going to end up in
the world. And they make you fill out applications for multiple countries visas. That's crazy.
And so like there were four different visas I filled out. Um, and then a little blurb,
a news blurb came on about, uh, someone from survivor production dying. Oh, wow. Oh no,
it came out on the season before, like in memory of you Googled that guy and it said he died in
Brazil on a scouting mission for the next season of survivor. So we figured out it was definitely
Brazil. So I did a bunch of studying, but then they give you that survival guide that they put,
they give you a,
printed out survival guide to study before the game starts. And then they put it in the medical
box, which you always have access to after the game. So you always can go and reference. It
probably doesn't have as in-depth of knowledge as what Kristen has studied for the last 25 years,
but there's a lot there. Um, so yeah, Kristen still my girl. Uh, she's in a fine position.
She hasn't done anything to really hurt herself. Um, so we'll see
when we get back.
And then she goes to tribal council, how it shakes out. Ashley?
Sharonda. She's been my pick for a couple of weeks now. She's been doing great. Um,
even though this tribal council was a little bit of a, you know, off track for her,
she still kept a clear head and I think she came back unscathed. So Sharonda, let's go girl.
Okay. Riley?
I mean, you know, I've had Sharonda since preseason and I'm not budging.
Yeah.
She had two really good reads this episode. One was the, the blood ring that we talked about,
where she kind of immediately is like, you know, I don't think this is real.
I like how she told Lewis, like, I trust you less now.
Yeah. That was good.
Yeah. I thought that was really good. Uh, and then she was also the first one that figured out,
like as the votes are coming out and there were too many of them, Linnea was like, what is going
on? Sharonda was the one who first put together, they had two extra votes. So yeah. Super, super
sharp player. Um, obviously this one doesn't go her way, but long-term, I actually don't think her
game has hurt that much long-term. I think she'll be okay.
I also like a lot of it. I look at personality here, how they're moving through these adversities
and she's always solid, but also stern. Like she's one of those people where it's like,
if I go against Sharonda, it's like, kind of like going against Sari, where like,
you have to make it stick. Otherwise they're going to have the power to get everyone to go at you
next. And so I think that like, that also plays in your mind. Like there's just some people who
have this commanding presence where you're like, when I go for them, if it doesn't work out,
then I'm a goner.
Tyson, do you think I have that commanding presence?
No, but you have something different because you're not scary.
You're not like Kristen has that too, this season. And you have a youthful optimism and
playfulness that would not command that for a long time, I don't think.
So you think I'd have to wait till I was like 40 to get that?
Because I don't see myself, like if Survivor 60 happens and if I have the honor to play it,
what is that? In five years? What, I'm 30?
Yeah.
I don't think I'd be any different than I am now.
No, you're still young and playful. Yeah, you're still young and playful.
I'd be Survivor 80.
I'm Survivor 80. Geriatrics versus Gen Z.
Yeah.
Tyson, we're on, buddy.
Okay.
You're helping me lose in fire again.
Sure, I'll do that. Yeah, I think that's just like, everybody comes with something different
and you play into your strengths and you like minimize your weaknesses. And for her,
her strength is that and whether or not-
she's recognizing that and playing into it. She is playing into it. I don't know if she
recognizes that she is, but like you have something different. I think the thing that
you have, Rizzo, if you're needing a compliment here.
Thank you.
Is that you're young and you go out with these people that a lot of them are older than you.
And a lot of these older people are rolling their eyes at you. But at a certain point,
they're like, you know what? He's okay. He's pretty good. Like I can get along with him.
He's funny. He's just having fun. He's not-
He's not threatening. And he's also a super fan. He respects being out here and having a great time.
I think there's something to that where I think it on TV, I think a lot more people probably are
annoyed with you from your time on TV than are in your personal life.
For sure.
And I think that that is a good quality to have, especially as a returning player
is going out and everybody be like, I don't know how I'm going to feel.
Yeah.
I don't know how I'm going to feel about Rizzo. And then being like, I'm like Rizzo's dad.
Like that's because of that. And I think that you'll have that for a long time.
I think to kind of compare myself to Devin a little bit, I think the best returning players
are people that are super polarizing. People that like really love one person,
really hate that person. I think Devin is probably that person for 51. I feel like I was that for 49.
I feel like you were that for Token Sheen's Tyson. I can't, you know, I was an eight-year-old child.
So I was like, I don't know.
I wasn't in the chat forums or whatnot, but I feel like you and coach were definitely
very polarizing at one point. I think that's what makes a good survivor contestant personally.
So I think it's what makes it, I think it gives you an advantage as a returning player.
So you're polarizing. They love that. But you come back and people that only saw you on TV
are like, he's not, I don't hate him as much as I thought I did on TV. Like maybe I should
apologize to this guy. And Tina apologized to me on blood versus water with tears in her eyes.
Uh, before we voted out her daughter that she had to, uh, she wanted to apologize for having
a perception of me that wasn't accurate. Um, and I think that, yeah, that's, I think that's also
your power. So I'm good with the moms. I love Tina. She was super nice to me at the 50 finale.
So Tina is very nice. Yeah. I'm good with the moms too, in general. Um, so yeah. So maybe you're the
younger, cooler.
Tyson.
Sorry, Lewis.
Okay. Riley, where are we at?
All right. Last thing we got to do is pick, uh, who's going home next week.
Oh God.
Um, is it not a merge next week? It's the sixth episode. Historically in the last five years,
every sixth episode has been the merge.
Uh, frequently was yes. 49. I don't remember.
I think almost every season through the new era, it has been episode 49 was not Shannon went home
in episode six, but 50, it was. So I don't know. I, from the preview of next week, it didn't look
like it was a merge. Usually they say, Oh my God, that didn't happen this time.
Or a thing shows up and everybody celebrates. You're like, Oh, it's probably the merge.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then as the week progresses and you get a bunch of press with people being like, Hey, they're all wearing, uh, pink buffs in all the shots. Like you get like, uh, something. But right now it doesn't seem like it's the merge. So how are we playing this then? Riley, someone from every tribe still.
Or you can just pick one. I think I'll give you, I'll give you my theory.
Who's the losing tribe. And yeah. What's your theory?
Well, I think that they're going to throw it and get Kilby out. That's.
That's what I'm kind of hoping to see. Cause I think it'd be the most traumatic. And, uh, you know, we talked about it at the top of the pod. That's where my head would be at if I was one of those three.
Okay.
This is tough. I don't, cause I don't know who would lose. I will say a hot take here. Cause this isn't been the theme of season 51. I'm going to guess a man gets voted out next week. So that changes it up a little bit.
There's only three more women to choose from.
Yeah, you're right. Um, God, I'm going to go with man. Um, I'm going to go with someone that we haven't mentioned this episode. Cause we didn't really see in this episode. I'm going to just say Carter goes home. That's, that's going to be my pick. I don't know how it happens, but I want to be different. I'm going to go with Carter. And the reason why is this is a good segue that I wanted to ask you, Tyson.
A lot of people preseason is like, Oh, Carter's the next JT as a JT.
You know, fan boy. I've never met JT. I'm hoping I can collect my last infinity stone from Toki Cheese. Cause he's my goat. Do you see any similarities between Carter and JT?
I think the one thing between, uh,
JT and Carter is that JT
kept his mouth
shut. He did not
divulge information. He did not overshare.
I think Carter doesn't have that.
I think
JT knew the game
better than Carter does here.
I think
JT was a fan. I don't know if Carter has been a
lifelong fan of Survivor or
really studied the game, whereas I
believe that JT had.
So,
no. Between JT, token chains,
and Carter now,
absolutely
gameplay-wise, no.
Yeah, for sure. Personality-wise, yeah.
But
maybe JT on any of his future
seasons. Okay.
Maybe he'll be there in Survivor Geriatrics
and Gen Z with me and you.
Yeah. Us three?
Yeah, I would love that. I don't know,
Rizzo. I recently
played a little game
in DC, a little Survivor
themed game, and I
realized
it a little bit on House of Villains last
year. I don't have
the motivation to really
try to win
anymore. You don't want a really nice
pool? Yeah, what happened?
What happened?
We can get you that really nice pool.
I'm going to get one without having
to win another TV
show. Well, let me quote you this,
Tyson, because as a true
pod-spoken fan, if I recall,
during a podcast during Season 50,
you did say,
that your life motivation
is if you ever got asked to be on Survivor
was to play with me and help me
get to fire and lose.
So if you need a motivation,
there you have it.
And I will do that.
I played this game, first of all,
because of
my long-standing reputation
in reality TV,
a lot of people in my tribe were just like,
we're voting you out next because you're
with Big D and that's just what we're doing.
I had the luxury of everybody telling me
they were just voting me, and I also
just gave it a shrug.
Like, okay, whatever.
And I think that I would be more
nonchalant, so I'd need. I would help you get to fire,
but I'm
going to put most of it on you, because I
just. Whatever it is,
like, the
change of life,
I've already done it.
I'm where I am now, and I
don't have that drive to
really. hurt someone to take
something out, unless I hated them.
If you put me on with all of my
rivals, if you put a season of
it's me, it's Ben,
it's Sarah, it's Sierra Reed,
it's, like, just everyone
that I just, like, totally clashed
with. Now, I don't
care what the prize is.
I am out for destruction.
I'm going to make it happen.
I'm going to pitch it to Jeffrey.
We've got to make it happen. Tyson versus everyone?
Yep.
And Riz God is his sidekick.
And Rizzo is the only guy I have out there
that I like. Okay.
Maybe that's a theme that I can
get behind.
And a 10 million prize pot.
We've got to hope this coin flip misses
like six seasons in a row.
Oh my god, dude. Can you imagine?
Yeah.
That would actually feel good. Then, do you know
the amount of pool I would have? I would have multiple
pools. One in my front yard,
one in my backyard.
I might actually get a house with a pool,
too.
To do it. That's what I'm hoping for.
I mean, obviously, I can't assume I'll ever play
again, but I'm hoping that it just misses. And then one
day, Jeff's like, you know what, Rizzo? I fucked
you over in the final
four, five, or 50. You deserve a spot back.
What I think
my prediction,
Rizzo, is if the flip
misses a couple times,
they'll do a returning season.
Yeah, I agree. Because there's more likelihood that people
will agree to come back and play if
there's more money at stake.
Yeah.
So, I think the coin flip
might determine a little bit
when a returning season is going to
happen.
Or Rick Devins
will come back for $55 after
it's like $6 million. He'll flip the
coin, and it fails.
And then we're only playing for $1 million.
And then Rick's just reversed the curse.
Yeah. Which would
also be, I mean, it's
still a 50-50 shot, even when you have
a big returning season. But then you could do another
returning season with the same draw,
a bigger draw. Yeah.
What they should do is, when it gets big
enough, they should have
the 20 people they want,
all-stars, come out.
If it misses. Redo the
whole season from the beginning. They just start the game over.
I agree.
Kind of like what I did for 49 and 50.
You just have 20 people there for four months.
Yeah. The season
ends with the coin flip missing.
Yep. And that's the whole
like, no winner that season.
Maybe there's. I guess you'd have to announce a winner
somehow. Yeah. You give a winner for the
million dollars. They win the pity award. And then just roll it back.
Roll it back. Exactly. And then you know
who wins. You know the dynamics. Honestly,
that might be a good season.
I mean, some people might not be
able to do back-to-back, so you might get. But you
have alternates jump in there, like a few
of them. But anybody who wants to keep going for
the big prize
stays put. I like. That's. We're onto
something. We're cooking. Tyson,
me and you, we're going to cook. Yeah. We are
going to cook. And if
you're out there, Rizzo, and it's not me, will you
please win an individual reward
challenge and just go by yourself?
I will. That's my last thing on my bucket
list besides winning, and I guess fires,
to win a challenge. So I'm going to do it for you, Tyson.
Or maybe I throw it. I don't know.
You can throw. I will be on it.
Winning an individual reward challenge
is not good, because you have to always make choices
on who to go. But if you choose no one,
I don't think that's horrible.
That might be a good pitch. Listen, I will
admit, I never threw anything. I was just utterly
terrible at all the challenges. But I also
lost like 50 pounds through both seasons.
So have a little, you know.
You were depleted.
I was depleted. That's my excuse for my ego
at least. I don't know who's
going to go home next week. I do hope that
it is the very small
tribe of Devin,
Ori, and Jelly, just
so that
it's like, now where
are you going to go? Yeah.
Is Ori going home at that point?
I kind of feel like maybe
Devin would go then. I think it might
be Devin then. Yeah. That's what I
would think. Ori's too solid. You got to
keep Ori. Like he is
a silent assassin
that does not give any
information. Always says
clever things
at tribal council where it
draws the enemy
into
comfort.
Like Alexis listened to that whole thing thinking
she's totally fine. Yeah.
And he did it the last time
they voted someone out too.
So, yeah.
I think if you're Jelly, you got to
keep Ori and get rid of Devin. So, I think
Devin, if, but a three-person
tribal almost never happens.
But, that's where I'm going to
go. Three-person tribal, Devin gone.
To quote Ori
Tyson, do you think Jelly keeping
Devin is taking the layup or
shooting it from half court?
Keeping him? Yeah, keeping
Devin. I think keeping Devin
is not the
layup. Oh.
Because she has to do more work
to keep Devin in
line. Like she's already multiple times
this season been like, Devin
needs to stop talking and sharing
information. I agree, yeah.
So, I think that she's at that
point now with Alexis
pushing it even harder and
then Ori, if he has to come
at her again with it, I think
she's going to come around to voting Devin out.
Ashley?
Gosh.
Um, well, Kilby is of course
in trouble. Um,
I do think it might be the three-person tribe
going to tribal though. It just
seems like they're going to be like
just the disaster tribe for the episode.
I think it's just not right
that there's only three people on that tribe.
And if they were to go to
tribal, I think, I mean,
it would be crazy if they,
if the boys just were like, you know what?
Let's get rid of Jelly. Wouldn't that be crazy?
Yeah, why not make it eight in a row?
Just keep going.
But I do think Devin is in trouble
if they go to it. But I
think the main kill shot
would be for Kilby. I feel like
a lot of people want him gone.
And if they, if they
don't lose, they're going to be just sitting in
like anger for like three days
straight. That's going to suck.
So Ashley, are you kind of hoping for an
all-male post-merge?
Hmm, I think I am.
I'm really excited about that, guys.
Yeah.
Bring it back to Amazon and
Vanuatu, men versus women.
Yeah. Wow.
It's crazy.
What do we say now? Six?
Six women
voted out. Yeah.
Six. Okay. Riley, who you got? Another
woman?
No, I said I was
Kilby. Kilby's gone. Okay. Fine.
Fine.
Not another woman. Okay.
Anything else, Riley?
That's it. All right. Rizzo, any
closing thoughts? Did we get
everything? Yeah, I thought it was
great. I'm super honored to be here. The man
that the legend R-I-C-G-O-D is honored
to be a part of the pod has spoken.
I'm hoping that you can make
this guy's dream come true and connect
me with JT somehow after this, maybe.
You know, who knows? We'll see. What do you want?
You want a text thread with him?
A phone call? What are you looking for? I would love
five minutes on the phone with JT Thomas.
That would literally be my fever dream.
I can make that happen. Do you want
You don't want me to just buy you a cameo from him?
probably not probably not i'd rather talk to the guy myself okay i can make that happen i'll text
him today for you hell yeah um thank you so much for being here rizzo do you have anything what

something fun on the way um but that's it like i said i'm super excited to be here super excited
love 51 and love you guys so okay we love you too we had a lot of fun with you the last couple
seasons we were happy you could join us here last thing riz god liz god what's your first child's

the
the names that we have don't go with god so wizard you don't have wizard wizard's not a name
no probably not you have some names you've you've taught you've been talking through you got like a
list already yeah so i would say something that's more um concrete is a girl's name and i actually
said this on survivor 50 but i lost fire so it didn't matter but hope is a big thing that i live
by so if i ever had a daughter i mean liz god would love to name her hope but hope god probably
doesn't really go as well so is there
synonym for hope that rhymes with uh riz probably not but you know sometimes it's not about how well
it sounds like for instance tyson you'd be the t-y-s-o-n-g-o-d tyson god baby yo listen it kind
of goes tyson uh yeah but it's i mean i i guess so i yeah i can if you want to call me that fine
i'm not going to call myself that okay maybe in another life in another life um and i'm still
fingers crossed for you and i'm still fingers crossed for you and i'm still fingers crossed for
just naming your kid wizard wizard okay yeah whiz god yeah okay whiz god i don't know
it's like cheese whiz i don't know we'll see yeah cheese whiz riley it's not like pissing
it's like cheese whiz yeah yeah cheese whiz that sounds like a great name beautiful
okay we're all on board with that uh thank you all for tuning in like subscribe share
whatever you got to do to bump us up all the ranks everywhere across
the board ashley i know you're feeling a little under the weather thank you so much for all the
time and energy you put into making us look and sound amazing uh rizzo again thank you and uh
riley was also here so thank you yeah okay till next week see ya
Thank you.
