The podcast episode analyzes key dynamics from a recent Survivor season, focusing on player behavior, alliances, and strategic shifts. Rob’s exit is examined as both entertaining and puzzling, particularly due to his self-serving claim of wanting to return, which raises questions about player motivations and loyalty. Brady emerges as a volatile, emotionally charged player whose outbursts create tension but also disrupt alliances, illustrating the double-edged nature of hothead gameplay. The season’s decision to split into three tribes is criticized as a misstep, undermining the strong rivalries and strategic depth seen in earlier episodes. Instead of fostering new tension, the merge feels forced and underwhelming, weakening narrative momentum. Player relationships, such as the alliance between Carter and Tanon and the bromance between Eric and Kilby, are highlighted as central to the season’s evolving drama. Humorous, off-the-wall anecdotes—like the “buttered pig” theory—add levity, reflecting players’ creative and sometimes absurd strategies. The episode also discusses how challenge performance becomes less relevant later in the game, with loyalty and interpersonal dynamics taking precedence. Ultimately, the commentary questions whether the season’s structure and design serve the narrative and strategic potential of Survivor, suggesting that more thoughtful, dynamic game planning could enhance viewer engagement.

alright we are back with the pod has spoken episode four season 51 we are here with one of our
dear friends of the pod a supporter since day one of the pod uh production and still here even after
she's been on survivor one survivor came back peeked behind the curtains a little bit and
decided it was still worthwhile to be part of what we've got going on here uh rachel lamont survivor
winner uh big brain and also creator of puzzle hungry if you're hungry for puzzle get puzzle
hungry go get some puzzle hungry that's right i like it that's our new slogan uh recording at
tyson yes if you're hungry for puzzle i'm glad you caught it the first time i said it because i was
like i don't know to me it's funny to leave the s off of it on both things but i didn't know if
everyone would enjoy it as much rachel uh you hopped on here before we hit record and wanted
to talk about rob's exit again since we haven't given him enough air time and we should really
not be elevate you know it's it's sort of a it's a damned if you do damned if you don't kind of
situation so we've had a week to digest it yeah how is it sitting for you now
i think after a week i am happy with the entertainment value that rob brought to the
season i think it's pretty unmatched with like what most individuals can do uh to just like
have such erratic gameplay to be have such self delusion it's always fun to watch um
uh quitting in that way is kind of hilarious um it sucks for a lot of people but i think it's
for a lot of people for a lot of ways right um but it's funny and i think the thing that the
only thing that still sits with me is him saying that on if there was a you know rob asking rob
sesternino asking him if there was a second chances for medevac people if he would return
and him being like yeah put me in coach like that's the part that i'm still sitting with
that i just i don't understand like why are we why are we why do we think that that's that's
i don't know we asked
him the same question would you come back to play again without even skipping a beat
he yes absolutely he'll go back it was the opportunity of a lifetime he loved every second
of it um i think i know this is gonna be unpopular but i think it would be hilarious to just bring
him back like it's just too funny now like the legwork he put in to be like come at me
haters and then just like getting on and still standing by the cut that i guess
was on his foot we couldn't even see it um bring him back you gotta bring him back like no but the
thing is is nobody was gonna want to play with him no do we think that if he came back okay and
in a world where he comes back cbs is like you're funny you're back does he quit again probably
i mean well as long as he doesn't step on anything well did he step on something yeah
his leg was in danger it was gonna be an amputation situation everyone's leg is in
danger all of the time riley you can't live your life assuming that the worst is gonna happen to
your leg when you go out the door so maybe if they have a survivor season that's in just like
a completely padded like just nothing but like cushions and couches and mattresses and stuff
then he can play maybe otherwise it's too much risk like we turn the big brother house into like
i don't know
well just one last thing uh because we want to get to the episode here but jeff did say that
that first week ish is really hard like detoxing from just society in general in all ways uh is
really challenging and once you kind of get over that hump i think with the rain like it doesn't
rain like that that often on survivor anymore because they're always in fiji and you just don't
see it at that time of year um
so i think that probably added to it i think without that rain he would have lasted a little
longer and uh so yeah i don't know i think he would we would still get a quit of some sort but
it might be a hilarious quit that's fair so it still might be entertaining v2 yes uh and with
that we will never speak of rob again on this podcast until the next time that we do but uh
let's go to the top of the episode in the dark night vision i think toka's interactions with each
other after they're processing the vote out from last week is absolutely hilarious like brady coming
back and pretending he's chill mike scrambling kind of not knowing where he's at and uh maggie
being the only person in the room i think she stood out to me in that whole thing uh how did you feel
about i didn't wait 40 years to come out here and have a 25 year old tell me how to play i was like
you go girl yeah i mean i like that she was like brady you seem emotional we're going to
talk tomorrow we'll talk tomorrow he's like no i'm not emotional i don't care we can talk and
she's like you don't care and he's like no and he's like she's like okay then we can talk tomorrow
if you don't care we'll talk tomorrow and he's like no i'm not emotional i don't care we can talk
we'll talk tomorrow he's like no i'm not emotional i don't care we can talk and she's like you don't care
we can talk tomorrow and he's like no what it was so good she saw that window much like rob saw the
window to quit with his paper cut that the doctor somehow saw with a microscope on his foot
our rob conversation moratorium lasted like 90 seconds great crew work brady or maggie found the
opportunity to not have a conversation with brady because he said he didn't care and she took it as
oh yeah then that's fine we'll do it tomorrow i loved it i love that he got shot down i also
brady's cute on the show he's uh now claiming that maybe he is actually a dummy which is fun
i really liked uh i didn't write down exactly what he said but he said something about like
we were playing at like a nine and now it's it's down to a three or something and then he goes as
hard as he can i don't know i thought that was really funny yeah he wasn't downplaying at all
did he pump the brakes really did he pump the brakes at all i don't think screaming at your
tribe mates when you're left out of the vote is pumping the brakes but um you know or screaming
at the kid on the sit-out bench to shut up while your other while your tribe's playing the challenge
that was great yeah
okay um one thing i did think was interesting is he said i don't remember if he said it to
lewis and carter or he said it in confessional but brady was saying like they didn't they didn't
give me a heads up yeah
that they were gonna flip and it kind of goes back to this like brady devon in the first episode
they're like we're good but we're gonna vote differently and then we saw it again last week
where um or he knew but still voted differently um this is like a weird thing we're seeing this
season that i feel like is not normal but do we think that if brady knew like if lewis and
carter had come and said we see your side but we're not into it we're voting pat out
would that's the danger that's the danger and that's the whole balance of survivor is you gotta
let as many people in as you can so that they can trust you moving forward but if you let the wrong
person know they run back and the whole thing is like either start over or you become a target or
whatever else can happen and so i think with brady i don't know i think lewis and carter probably
could have swayed him but i don't think they could have swayed him because they're not in the same
boat but i think it's like it's one of those delicate things where like they pull him aside
they're like hey you may not like what's gonna happen and we want to let you in and we want you
to trust us and this is why we're doing it but if it leaks out there's two of us you can't get us
both tonight, then it's a problem for you.
Like, I don't know.
Like a little bit of force and a little bit of finesse.
I don't think they should have done it.
I guess my question is like,
is Brady so concerned with A, looking stupid
because he specifically said that he was upset
that he looked stupid.
And then B, not having the numbers.
Whereas if Lewis and Carter had come to him
and said like, we're voting this way,
you're going to lose Pat, but do you really care?
You're not like that close to Pat.
Like, would he have mathematically been like,
well, we'll still have the numbers
because I'm still with these two guys.
So I don't really care.
I don't think that should work,
but it's, this is a weird season
where I feel like it might have.
I don't know.
I mean, whenever you flip the vote,
it always works until you share it with the wrong person.
So who is the wrong person?
Like, that's what it comes,
it always boils down to that.
Like, you have a plan,
you scatter the plan around with the people
you think will be on board with the plan.
Then you have people that you're like,
they're going to be pissed.
So do we let them in?
And then they get to be part of it.
And then you let the wrong person in.
And then they run back to the people that you're targeting
and it's either start over, circulating again,
or it flops onto someone you didn't want to go home.
And maybe even you.
So it's always, yeah, it's always that balance.
And we saw earlier this season,
Tanon and, who was it?
Tanon and. Yeah, wasn't that this last episode?
Oh, this was it?
They were voting Pat.
Yeah.
So they were saying, they said he voted Pat.
Carter and Lewis didn't tell him.
He thought he had Carter and Lewis and had the numbers.
Yes, Tanon and Kilby told him.
And he didn't really care that bad.
So it's not like he looked like a full dummy.
He knew that it was maybe coming.
But I think when you're left out,
then, yeah, it does start to feel dangerous.
But he kind of wasn't left all the way out.
He knew that there were a number of votes.
Yeah, he's also kind of a hothead.
So I just, yeah.
He's not going to be happy unless everything goes exactly how he wants it.
Yes, exactly.
I mean, last episode, he was also like,
oh, I know that Carter is lying to me
because they had looked in his bag or whatever.
And he was like, I'm cool with it.
I'd be doing the same thing.
That's great.
And then it immediately becomes,
oh, Carter lied to me about tribal council.
I thought we were bros and now it's over.
And so, I don't know.
It's kind of like. But again, he. He had the one up because they went and got the freaking advantage.
Yeah.
Like, you know, he was in the know,
but it worked out in his favor.
Yep.
When he's on top, he's cool with anybody doing anything.
But when he's not, he's very upset about it.
And that is a tricky person to navigate in Survivor, Rachel.
Yeah.
I can think specifically of maybe someone like Joe,
where if you cross him, he gets really irate.
And that's not fun.
So you're just like,
tippy-toeing, walking on eggshells.
At what point do you just get rid of the hothead
so you don't have to tippy-toe around camp all the time?
Yeah, probably when their utility to you is gone.
You know, I think right now,
strength is still playing a little bit of a factor
in some of these challenges.
Maybe not this one.
But maybe we've reached the point where it doesn't
because usually they drop off pretty quickly.
This is the third episode.
I feel like at some point they stopped doing these,
you know, 400-pound whale challenges.
Yeah.
That's a little bit less scary,
although smaller tribes, again.
So it matters more.
And yeah, I don't know.
I think that I've never played with Joe,
but I think when it comes to players like that,
you have to just hope that your things align.
And I think that at some point,
when it really doesn't anymore
and you know that it's bad,
then maybe you just need to get rid of them.
Because I think that's the perfect person
to have in your corner.
If you can kind of control them,
you know, like if you can get them
to see your point of view,
if your things happen to align,
like that's the person you want,
the ally you want.
So it's a double-edged sword for sure.
Yeah, I agree.
I think if that person is in your corner,
oh, you let them fight,
you let them rage about all the things
that you also want for your game.
But especially if you're in that position,
when it's time to take a shot,
you cannot miss
because their rage will come back on you.
And that's where it gets really dicey is like,
okay, this hothead, I'm going to cross him.
I don't even know if I fully have the numbers.
I hope I do.
But then at that point, you're like,
well, I got to back off a little bit
because I'm not certain, certain
that we're going to get rid of him.
And if we don't get rid of him
and he comes back to camp,
that is one headache
that I'm going to have to deal with
for who knows how long.
And so I think in a way,
I think,
for longevity purposes in the game,
these hotheads can scoop by
just by raging a little extra.
Yeah, I think genuinely,
and I'm not saying people
aren't physically scared of him,
but I think that having people fear you
and fear your wrath
is a genuine type of gameplay on Survivor
because it is something that people. I don't think it wins you the game.
It gives you. Probably not.
But I think that it gets you deeper
than players where you're just like,
I don't really. I don't really care if they hate me.
You know, like, I just. Which is kind of weird
that I feel like I am.
Yeah.
Like, if you look at somebody
and you're like,
they'll get over it.
Yeah.
Like, this right here
is why I got blindsided.
You know.
She might respect it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I would love to have
a little bit more of that
Brady, like,
I don't want to piss her off vibe.
And I think that, you know,
pros and cons to both.
But it's. I don't know.
I think it gives Brady
a lot of power at this stage.
It gives you power
to stay in the game
and to convince. It helps to convince people
to do the thing you want.
But I think secretly,
most people
are rolling their eyes like,
when can we get this guy out?
And it's going to take
a brave enough faction
with big enough certain numbers
to do it.
Because it's like,
you can vote for people
and be like,
if we miss, oh, well,
we'll just come back
and shrug our shoulders
and they'll be a little bugged.
But in the end,
it's not going to make me
that uncomfortable.
And there's people that
it is going to definitely
make you uncomfortable.
And Brady is one of those.
Well, do you think that
at some point,
because you're saying that, like,
not a lot of win equity
in this kind of player.
So at some point,
does Brady just become
someone that you don't care
about getting out?
Yeah, for sure.
There's like a turning point there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think when you can see
the finish line
and you're looking at
who you can beat in the end,
he's a great candidate right now.
And I think he'd have
a lot of work to do
to win the respect
of the jury.
Like, does he just stop
being a hothead?
He probably can't
because he gets ultra competitive
in those situations.
But even if he did,
has he already done
too much damage?
Because there's been
multiple times where people
had brought up his
little outbursts.
And so I think he's like
the damage is already done.
It's going to depend
on how many Brodies
are on the jury.
How many Brodies are there?
Everyone's a Brody.
Everyone's a Brody to Brady.
But Brady is not a Brody to all.
Does this mean that
Kilby was right
with his interpretation
of Brady's gameplay
where he's better
as someone who doesn't have control
over their video game controller?
It's better if he's just there
sitting next to you
playing with you,
but it's not plugged in.
Is that foreshadowing?
Is he like the
the like no vote finalist?
That would be a twist.
He could be.
He definitely could be.
He's the front runner
for the no vote finalist
right now, in my opinion.
Nothing against Brady
as a person or anything,
but like when you
come in with that much emotion
when things aren't going your way,
it rubs people the wrong way.
It seems very entitled.
And I do think like
right now it gives him
some staying power
and then eventually
it's going to
it turns the corner
and then becomes like a
well, now it's staying power
in a very different way.
Yeah, the lowercase goes.
So sorry, Brady.
Yeah, sorry, Brady.
I mean, the thumb
and you did the thumb
and everything.
We don't know.
We don't know anything.
Wait, you can't say that
because if we're right,
then you can't also claim it
at the end.
If you're like,
we don't really know.
No, yeah, we can have it both ways.
If Rob can have it both ways,
we can have it both ways.
You know, if he can quit
and come back for second,
chances like we can,
we can, we can have.
Okay.
Okay, sure.
Yeah.
I also did like
Kilby
like coming back
and just asking everybody
who voted for him.
Yeah.
Because he clearly
and then forgetting
he was like, wait,
there was five
and they're like, well,
Pat voted for you
and she's not here.
Like, oh, yeah.
Oh, that's four.
Okay.
There's one more.
He knows.
He knows Brady voted for him, right?
Who's lying to me?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Back to the video.
Video game controller.
Brady did bring it up again today,
but he said a switch can
he turn it into a Nintendo switch.
It was never a Nintendo switch before
and switches are wireless.
Which I mean,
he's going from nine to three,
nine to three.
We're, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Analogies are not analogy.
Do you guys think that Brady
has an older brother?
Like, I just feel like this comment
hits such a nerve.
with him.
didn't even hear it personally it got to him second hand and he keeps bringing it up it's like
i gotta think that he has an older brother i think this happened this insult is a gut punch no matter
who you are it doesn't matter riley if somebody said that about you like how would you feel
like you're out there playing survival i wouldn't be stewing on it for like three days telling
everybody still like that person would be my number one target i would be like if i can just
get that person who said that out then i can be like who doesn't have the controller plugged in
now like that would be my words as i'm writing their name down i do feel like it hits a lot
harder than being like you know tyson's not playing like tyson's tyson's not someone we
need to worry about like even an idiot even calling me an idiot is better because we're
saying like tyson thinks he's he's really good but he is just like absolutely useless it's just
like such a bigger dig
i think yeah it's like let him pretend to play survivor off on the side wallace big kids play
real survivor like that's yeah that's what it is yeah yeah yeah so it's pretty brutal i think i
would be pretty impressed about it i would only be targeting kilby from here on out if he had said
that about me and maybe that's the i don't know it's uh yeah the hothead tyson maybe i am the
hothead no but i would i would do i would be quiet about it and i'd like what
ever but on his exit i would definitely make mention of it like he probably said that when
he wrote kill me and then feels really stupid now he's like damn my controller wasn't plugged
anybody can't like deal with that very well if he said that when he voted for kill me they would
have shown that you don't think they would yeah yeah yeah man that would have been good uh the
idea is to take them to a beach uh mixed feelings i think that that's correct right if you've got
your tribe under control you don't want to go anywhere uh yeah but everybody else definitely
wants a mix-up riley i definitely have mixed well worse than mixed feeling feelings as a viewer
because i mean all these dynamics that we're running through right now yeah okay so we get
to the island and jeff is like could it be a merge could we be at a merge
or could we do like a one world thing or what could we do here jeff and then we were getting
fake merge from what was it uh china they jeff says doesn't actually say their merge but like
implies heavily that they're merging that's a fake merge and they're still voting and they're
living together but they're still voting in tribes like i um felt like that that could have been
oh yeah and james got to go to both tribal councils or somebody some highland
yep did she get the one that got screwed by that yeah okay he teased these things and i was so
excited because i got a text message from rachel this morning saying she sure hopes it's not just a
three tribe situation again and then i thought of you i thought of you too i was like oh it's
not gonna be rachel's gonna be so happy and then jeff tricked us and then before we hit record
here while we were waiting for you to join the podcast rachel riley went on a full-blown
hot-headed rant about how stupid three tribes are riley i was saying i i've okay i've been loving
this season but this was the first episode that fell kind of flat for me because i was like
they had built up all these amazing dynamics we got to see this core five torn apart on toka and
and all this like kilby brady you know all the these rivalries happening and then on savu they're
like we're the underdogs we lost all these people in a row we've only got seven somebody mutinied
like this this is like good stuff
i wanted to see these two continue to go head to head and then it's like actually we're breaking
you up into three tribes and then what do we get out of it oh we get like the small tribe where
there's nowhere to hide but actually what it is is just a group of three gets to pick off one of
two people that they don't even want to go very far with anyways so it was like this was like a
pretty underwhelming episode on what has been actually like this is definitely the weakest one
after two really really strong episodes um it is a bummer and it's the three times again like why
are we doing this we we
have seen such fireworks um and there's more room to hide but also more room to play we had two
non-unanimous votes now look at we just had our first unanimous vote of the season
it's it's yeah it sucks but hopefully they'll go back i i know what they've said before they
kind of plan the whole season in advance and write it all down like jeff kind of implies it again in
this episode where it's like we had a tribe swap at 18 and the numbers get shifted a little because
of uh
the you know guy we're not going to mention that you're not being named
rob but like we want to stick with we want to stick with the game plan you know and like i get
that but i'm hoping that they think about it a little harder in future seasons and go actually
like two tribes of big numbers is more compelling than three tribes of small numbers but i don't
know or you know like nobody knows i know it's i know they write it all down but like
that's like one of the levers production can push that doesn't feel like particularly cheap or cheap
but like that's like one of the levers production can push that doesn't feel like particularly cheap or cheap
is like the dynamics are really good maybe we shouldn't switch it up right now or the dynamics are
or the dynamics are very stale on two tribes let's switch it up
very stale on two tribes let's switch it up
there's a lot more manipulative things that production does than this and i've also thought
like when they write out the season it's a loose draft based off of things that happen and don't
happen so in my like i don't know either but i thought that as well and i also thought the thing
that's so beautiful about these big tribes on top of what you've already mentioned is that you get
two people gunning for each other and both of them are still there after the vote like you don't get
that on a six-person tribe one of them goes the fact that you have like people going as hard as
yeah people going as hard as they can at one another and then after the dozen and a half
is cleared they're like we're both still here i guess we have to keep fighting yeah like that's
amazing that doesn't happen and then on a tribe of six like it's like oh now it's time to lay down
amazing that doesn't happen and then on a tribe of six like it's like oh now it's time to lay down and die and i have uh when jeff
and die and i have uh when jeff
and die and i have uh when jeff asks me what survivor means to me i'll know
asks me what survivor means to me i'll know
asks me what survivor means to me i think that i think that lewis and carter
i think that i think that lewis and carter
i think that i think that lewis and carter might have flipped back too you know to
might have flipped back too you know to
might have flipped back too you know to the now the yeah it becomes a core four
the now the yeah it becomes a core four
the now the yeah it becomes a core four and they're just ping pong and then
and they're just ping pong and then
and they're just ping pong and then eventually people be like actually you
eventually people be like actually you
eventually people be like actually you know who i'm pissed at is lewis and
know who i'm pissed at is lewis and
know who i'm pissed at is lewis and carter yes
carter yes
carter yes that's the classic swing vote scenario we
that's the classic swing vote scenario we
that's the classic swing vote scenario we love that
love that
love that yeah i liked carter like
yeah i liked carter like
yeah i liked carter like being upset with chris i thought that
being upset with chris i thought that
being upset with chris i thought that was interesting because carter's kind of
was interesting because carter's kind of
was interesting because carter's kind of giving the i'm not like
giving the i'm not like
giving the i'm not like playing too hard i'm not you know he's
playing too hard i'm not you know he's
playing too hard i'm not you know he's giving this
giving this
giving this relaxed vibe um and you know i
relaxed vibe um and you know i
relaxed vibe um and you know i accidentally missed the boat oops oops
accidentally missed the boat oops oops
accidentally missed the boat oops mutinied uh and so like i think
mutinied uh and so like i think
mutinied uh and so like i think hearing him kind of just be like you
hearing him kind of just be like you
hearing him kind of just be like you know kristen
know kristen
know kristen nah like i'm not i'm not listening to
nah like i'm not i'm not listening to
nah like i'm not i'm not listening to this i enjoyed a lot of these
this i enjoyed a lot of these
this i enjoyed a lot of these conversations where people were um
conversations where people were um
conversations where people were um coming back with other people and uh
coming back with other people and uh
coming back with other people and uh it's fun to see where where
it's fun to see where where
it's fun to see where where the grudges still hold and stuff so i
the grudges still hold and stuff so i thought i thought of the if we're going
thought i thought of the if we're going to divide into three tribes this was
to divide into three tribes this was
to divide into three tribes this was like a decent mix of the tribes where
like a decent mix of the tribes where
like a decent mix of the tribes where there's not anything too like the the
there's not anything too like the the
there's not anything too like the the one really overwhelming uh like the old
one really overwhelming uh like the old
one really overwhelming uh like the old tribe is still there is the very
tribe is still there is the very
tribe is still there is the very fractured one with tanon and brady and
fractured one with tanon and brady and
fractured one with tanon and brady and maggie and um uh mike so like it's just
maggie and um uh mike so like it's just
maggie and um uh mike so like it's just yeah
yeah
yeah the dynamics were relatively interesting i
the dynamics were relatively interesting i
the dynamics were relatively interesting i think the worst tribe that could have
think the worst tribe that could have
think the worst tribe that could have lost lost unfortunately yeah yeah
lost lost unfortunately yeah yeah
lost lost unfortunately yeah yeah do you butter up a pig is that a thing
do you butter up a pig is that a thing
do you butter up a pig is that a thing that we do like is that what carter was
that we do like is that what carter was
that we do like is that what carter was saying
saying
saying like are we lathering pigs in butter
like are we lathering pigs in butter
Is that what they do before they slaughter them?
I don't know anything about pigs.
He said he buttered up the pig, put it outside, give it a tan, and then bring it in for the show.
And I didn't realize pigs got tans.
Maybe for like the 4-H show.
A living pig, you got to get them nice and tan?
Yeah.
I always just took mine to a tanning salon.
What does a pale pig look like?
I thought the pale pigs were the winners.
Like you got Charlotte's Web.
Who's that pig's name?
Wilbur?
Wilbur.
Oh, yeah.
You got Wilbur.
I like Babe.
Babe is another pig, and neither of those guys got tans.
He is very tan.
Oh, he was?
Babe is tan.
Babe's tan?
I don't know.
I'm assuming all the pigs we see on TV are tans.
Yeah.
Maybe they are.
I don't know.
Piglets are pretty. Pink.
Yeah.
Is that tan or is that pale for pig?
Yeah.
I think pink is pale.
I was not engaging with this pig talk.
I'm not a big. I don't get tan.
I only get sunburns.
I just can't relate.
Your freckles don't grow together, though?
No, they don't.
Have you ever used butter?
Yeah, I used butter, Dan.
Maybe I'll butter up next time I go in the sun.
Yes, try it.
Riley, try it.
Let us know.
I thought he was talking about corn on the cob the whole time
and just getting it wrong.
We just lather butter on our pig.
And I was like, no, that's corn on the cob that you slather butter on.
I thought he was way off.
I don't even know.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know either.
Still on toka here, we get Kristen teaching everybody about plants, which if you tell me to eat a noni fruit, I'm voting you out immediately after tasting that.
That tastes like an old smelly, like it's like if you got old smelly socks that somebody has been wearing for a week and then you put prune juice in them and then squoze it out into a cup.
That's what noni tastes like.
Gross, but also prune juice underrated.
Don't, don't.
It is one of the ingredients for Dr. Pepper.
I have some things to say about prunes.
Is it?
I think so.
One of the 23 flavors.
I feel like prunes get a bad rap.
This is a very big tangent.
But prunes, way better than raisins.
Like, who doesn't like, who doesn't like a plum?
It's a plum.
Just because old people, it's like associated with old people and pooping doesn't make it a bad fruit.
I don't know.
I think.
Setting it out in the sun makes it a bad fruit.
Like just eat it fresh.
I think a lot of people like raisins and a lot of people shit on plums and they don't even know that plums are, or prunes rather, and prunes are a vastly superior raisin.
You think a rebrand?
I will die on this hill.
Yeah.
It needs a rebrand.
Dried plums?
Sunkiss?
Is that the, is that the prune brand?
Sunkiss?
At me.
At me.
Yeah.
I'll bring prunes back.
Sundried plums.
Sundried.
Sundried.
Sundried.
I got to get the brand right.
Yeah.
We get the, uh, we get the dried strawberries from Costco.
You get them.
They're just like raisins or something.
You know, they're still a little soft and some moisture in them.
They're delicious.
So I don't know.
I don't even mess around with raisins.
Other dried fruits.
Don't get shit.
Like.
Well, Noni doesn't taste like any of that.
Noni tastes disgusting, but it apparently has healing properties.
And then she found that other little sweet treat that you just not on.
It's like a, I, I did not Google.
The name of it.
I should do that right now, but they had those in the Philippines.
The bigger, the bigger, like orange fruit.
They're a big ball, but then you break off these segments.
And when you gnaw on them, they're really fibrous.
You don't get any flesh, but you get some, like a hint of sweetness.
And so you just chew on them for a bit.
I didn't see any of these things out there.
Yeah.
I saw none of these fruits.
This might be a new beach that they're at or sometimes like.
I'm pretty sure the beach they're on is cause wait, wait.
Is this the new tribe?
Oh, no, no.
The new tribe was the, the, the new.
The new tribe's beach was my pre-merge beach, but that wasn't the one that Kristen's finding this stuff on.
So yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't know anything about the plants out there.
Yeah.
I think, uh, I think I saw some nonis.
We had some papayas and stuff, but they were all underripe, but we know we had, we had, uh, breadfruit.
We had breadfruit out there.
Yeah.
But it was all underripe.
Yeah.
Um, and that was in Fiji.
Winners at war.
I also like on Toka.
We get to non and Carter locking in.
Are they really locked?
Is that an alliance that will stick?
It felt real.
It did feel real.
I mean, I feel like we saw the Carter poo-pooing Kristen thing and then immediately going to Tanon and being like, yes, this is good.
Um, and I liked her analogy about, you know, we're in the ocean.
I need a rock to hold on to.
Carter seems steady.
Like, I don't know.
It felt, felt pretty real from both of them.
Yeah.
I thought so too.
I'd like to see it materialize.
I think that it's actually a good balance because it's an unassuming alliance for sure.
Um, they're both very different and they both have different ways they approach the game.
Uh, Carter, not at all.
And to non, uh, yes.
Uh, yeah.
I mean, a lot of people, including on this podcast have compared Carter to JT.
Do you think that like, you know, to non is the fishback is like fishback.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It could be.
Uh, I do think that she will be, she will need to drive, uh,
the ship, uh, most of the time and maybe, yes, she will have to drive the buttered pig
most of the time.
And, uh, but she'll need to take his input, uh, cause he's probably going to get some
information that she's not going to be privy to and vice versa.
So hopefully, you know, it looks like she's closest to Kilby on her original tribe.
And then he's closest to like Lewis.
Is that the other people that they have?
Yeah.
So they have them.
That'll be an interesting, um,
And I want to go to Deena, the new tribe, Eric and Kilby, bromance, best friends.
You know, I love it for them, but I kind of hate watching it.
Like I'm happy for them, but like, I don't know.
I hate it.
Is Kilby as enamored with Eric as Eric is with Kilby?
No, but I still think he's enamored.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like, yeah.
It's like that.
I still couldn't believe where Eric was like, we have a million things in common in the
first example.
Was they like Oreo and Waluigi?
Yeah.
Like what?
We got a really deep connection forming here.
Yeah.
It's, uh, I mean, but it was with everything they would, uh, Eric does theater in his spare
time and Kilby does improv in theater as well.
And then Eric said, he said some words I didn't understand a couple of times that
were they Fijian?
Or like,
I,
I don't think so.
It was definitely not English.
Yeah, it definitely wasn't English.
And I'm going to look up my notes here.
Cause I just wrote, what did Eric say?
And he said it two times.
He said two things.
So I think he said tabula rasa.
Yeah.
Blank slate.
That sounds Fijian to me.
That's blank slate.
No, that's, that's what it means.
Tabula rasa.
Yeah.
It's a Latin phrase.
Latin phrase.
Okay.
So he was, you know, you saying during the tribe slate clean with the, yeah, the tribe swap.
Um, I'm not very smart.
He says, he says something else.
I didn't catch whatever he was saying to Maggie that caused Brady to be like, Hey, like, you
know, shut, shut up or quiet down or whatever the heck he said to him at the challenge.
Oh, he was just like, I listened to that.
Like, I think he was just cheering on Maggie.
I think he was just cheering her on, but also he was on the other tribe, right?
Why was he cheering?
So he might've just been trying to ice her, right?
And they voted together.
So maybe he was just rooting on his friend.
I think he was just rooting on his friend.
That was my understanding was he was rooting someone on who was in his former alliance.
And Brady was like, no, Brody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just literally couldn't tell.
I couldn't tell what he said.
I have written down.
Oh, Maggie is.
And then I listened to it like three times and just was like, what was he saying?
Like, I don't know.
Yeah.
Whatever it was, he was the only one that raged at Eric.
Um, Eric was singing about chicken and fries, uh, while Kilby, uh, seemingly listened.
And then he said singing Copacetic city.
What's that mean?
I don't know.
Copacetic is like, everybody is like, I think there's like peace.
And it's, you know, um, I don't know the actual definition, but that his vocabulary is just too great for me then.
Yeah.
He's doing Latin and stuff like what is happening?
Yeah.
Okay.
So both of those did seem, what do you think it's like to live on a beach with Eric and Kilby?
Ooh.
I think they would grab a ship towards me the whole time.
Right.
Yeah.
I've been with Eric the whole time.
Yeah.
But, uh, Sharonda could not vibe with them at all.
I could.
I could at least like, you know, I'm willowy.
I can kind of like be nerd.
I could pretend to nerd out with them a little bit.
They would drive me insane.
I feel like Christian's there probably.
I think Christian's that like, you can see him in the background kind of vibing when they're singing and stuff.
I feel like he's, he's giving, he's giving, you know, purple Christian.
Yeah.
Purple Christian.
My alternate, my poor alternate is a purple boy.
Um, he was, where was he?
He was the alternate for you.
Future season.
Yeah.
He was the male alternate.
So Sage was the female alternate played on 49.
Christian was our male alternate.
So yes.
Very excited to see him.
I was told.
Even though we're not seeing him.
We're not seeing him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we'll see him on a future season.
Aside from a funny voice, he hasn't given us much.
Like, and even his confessionals are not really hard hitting.
Well, I feel like he hasn't been, has his, has he gone to tribal?
I don't actually know.
Yeah.
He has gone to tribal.
Oh, maybe.
They both have gone.
Yeah.
He's with Sabu.
He went to, uh, he went to, well, yeah, one tribal, the Ana vote.
Yeah, the Ana vote.
Okay.
Yeah.
And he could just be flying.
Well, there's a lot of kids going on.
He, he actually like this episode, he got a confessional.
I was like, oh wow.
Christian confessional.
And basically he was just like, oh, the good news is I have a majority on this tribe.
And I guess we'll just vote Kilby or Lewis.
And then that was it.
It was just like matter of factly states, you know, the divisions of the tribe.
And it was the most boring.
And it probably had that confessional from every single.
Yeah.
It was just a confessional of like, all right.
I wrote like, this is the best, this is the best thing you could find for, from Christian
for this whole episode that we get is just like this matter of fact, like super bland.
Like, here's how the tribe shaped out.
Yeah.
You're like, oh, okay.
Well, good to see you.
Uh, and then he was gone.
Yeah.
We'll see.
Maybe, maybe there's something, I mean, we've had some weird, you know, some weird edits
recently on survivor where sometimes people like bloom later or whatever, but yeah, not
like that.
It's been great for him so far.
A late push.
Um, would you be vibing with Eric and Kilby, Rachel?
I don't think so, but I think I would be able to fake like I am.
Yeah.
I think I have enough of the, the nerd in me to, uh, Wario, Waluigi.
Hell yeah.
Um, I think we could, we could go there, you know, um, but.
So then who would you say if they're Wario and Waluigi, who are you?
Oh, I mean, I, I would be.
like in a game where I'm picking my character, I'm Daze.
crazy but in this trio i'll be i'll be like a i'll be a mario you know i'll vibe with the boys
you think you could be a mario i don't know if i don't i think they like the bad the they like
the bizarro ones so which is there any other bizarro characters or could you just be like
i'm bowser jr like who are you you got to be like an evil i could be bowser jr yeah i like that i
like that i couldn't be bowser i wouldn't they wouldn't fall for that but maybe bowser jr i'd
be like yeah i just like you know brady already has bowser covered yeah brady's bowser
oh and this is a soft launch of our nintendo switch podcast um switch specifically obviously
um yeah wireless controllers wireless controllers lewis we didn't get to see him shit his pants but
we almost did did he shit his pants out there he also said he said i wrote this down he doesn't
want to puke his pants
is what i or maybe he said poop i think he said like his accent it sounded like puke to me it
sounded like puke to me too um is it unfair that lewis has an accent in a in a positive or negative
in like a in a pot in a positive way because if i know anything about americans is um anyone with
an accent is elevated to a crazy level yes um i worked with a man who had a british accent who
was an absolute he was terrible at his job and he lasted twice as long as he should have because
people just think he's smart you know and it's just like i i just i i i feel like it's an unfair
advantage to have an accent um on survivor i think it is it's fun to have friends from different
countries and it's kind of a novelty especially on survivor where everybody has to have an
american or a canadian passport so then that on top of it and yeah i agree i think uh but i also
do understand because i've traveled enough of the world that an american accent in certain places
like if you were to go and play even uk survivor the american accent would be like oh that's
different like that it works both ways in some places yeah people do like the american accent
overseas really yeah oh wow you gotta go you gotta get over riley you're married to a swede
you don't think she has a nice accent riley no she's no she was uh can she do it do a swedish
accent no you know the swedish accent i feel like does not come with as much like
illustriousness like a british i was like swedish chef is all we think about
oh somebody's gonna get mad at me i'm just saying that when lewis was the person on exile
i was like of anybody to have to do this he's fine he's gonna be fine because he's gonna come
back with his little accent and everyone's gonna love him and sure shit yeah yeah and then he's
like that his accent might be too strong sometimes that's what i think it could be
the the tick you don't you don't always yeah you don't always understand and if you don't
always understand that could be a problem you're like say what now are we are we good or are we
not good that's all i need to know in this moment but maybe you just give him the benefit of that
out he could be like i don't like you and you're like i didn't understand that i think you like me
um yeah i think the accent is definitely working in his favor and he also knows that he's like a
charming irish accent like of course this is gonna work and it does work so it's like it's a whole
package but i don't want to see him poop his pants and uh yeah or puke his pants whatever
he said poop i'm pretty sure but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go back and re-watch it though
because i was like whoa was that is that something they say in ireland so do you think his accent is
what allowed his tribe to just let him go take a nap for an hour or two in the boat well he also
actually genuinely looking pretty sick yeah he was definitely kind of pity people that you know
you do but then you're also like should we put them out of their misery
like they said that didn't they they were yeah yeah someone said it in confessional i feel like
i think it was it was either eric or kilby and they were basically like you know if we go to
tribal lewis is on the outs
okay and then that got washed up because they didn't go to tribal so let's go to the challenge
here we get a little baby well on top of a regular well uh i'm trying to get one of these in my
ownership yeah i messaged matt and i was like can i get one of those wells please uh fingers crossed
for me everyone was there not an opportunity for the sit-out bench to go to tribal lewis
bench to really make a connection somehow or like strategically be like oh i'll sit out too so you
can sit next to the guy that you were just on a tribe with that's in your alliance to tell you
about the new tribe like i feel like there was an opportunity maybe it wasn't lost maybe it was it
was uh who sat out to non and eric and i don't know i just thought that when the first person
volunteered themselves like if you're on the other tribe just be like oh no no no i'll actually sit
out here because you want to talk to them is that too dangerous is that too much effort is brady
going to yell at us probably yeah am i overthinking it like is that like i i don't know watch i'm
definitely overthinking everything when i watch the show i don't know in the moment if i would
have the wherewithal to always i think it's just always i think i was never in a position i think
my tribe only sat someone out of the tribe and i was like oh my god i'm not going to sit out here
one time um so i feel like it wasn't something that i was thinking about and i never i never
wanted to be a sit-out person um yeah i think i would have avoided sitting out pretty pretty hard
i would just i wouldn't want to like not feel like an asset or have people perceive me not as an asset
so i think even if i wanted to talk to someone i think it would i would be hard pressed unless it
to this person um then maybe but i think in general if it was just like i'd love to connect
with them i don't know that that is something that it would be worth it for me yeah it is tricky
i like sitting out during the blindfold challenges because i don't like to ram into
stuff with my head or my nards but some people don't care i've yeah but the collar then all the
fault is on you if you lose yeah it's true like you're the only person there so
everyone else can blame you so i think this for me that's the challenges i will sit out of all the
time is one that i don't feel like i can really benefit the tribe which is a blindfold challenge
because i move extra slow blindfolded i'm like i'll just not hurt myself and move as slow as i
can yeah have you noticed that they haven't been blaming people during like tribal for
for losing challenges like there's certain people who are obviously like the people who
made them lose challenges for example devon didn't do a good job today uh with the water challenge
very well but no one seems to have been like devon should be going home they don't why do you guys
think that is this season i think it never really matters it's uh just a reason to target when it
matters it's an excuse yeah to target them so if there was wind behind getting devon out then you
would be like and he sucked at the challenge today but like i don't think that you would just
maybe at the very beginning because you have very little to go off of i think that that could be a
valid thing and like the first vote but it or if it's like you can't get rid of this person because
it's they're too you know strong or whatever but i think in general challenge performance doesn't
matter especially when you feel like the merge is coming and then you're like it's a good thing
that they suck at challenges right so it's sort of one of those other double-edged swords that's
what i was gonna say i think i think the first couple tribal councils it matters keep the tribe
and uh you don't have a lot to go on so it's either like vote out the weak link on the
challenge vote out the most annoying person or vote out the least helpful person like those are
the targets and then you get here and you're like well even if we vote devon out now and then we have
another tribe swap or we do something else like it's not going to matter like now we're at the
stage where it doesn't matter like loyalty is more important than strength and um
i don't know if there's a way to shake that up because it kind of is always the case on an all-star
season not so much people are just like loyalty trumps everything but on a new season you're
always afraid of going to tribal council early so i think yeah i don't know how without making
the challenges too boring is there a way to negate the weakest link because i think it's
being targeted on the first and first tribal council of the tribes and is there also a way
to negate the challenge threats from being targeted right after the merch no and i think
it's okay because i think that is in balance in its own way i think that if you are weak
in the beginning you are more like likely to go home and it takes more work to stay
and if you are strong you are less likely to go home and it takes less work and then that
dynamic flips the further you get into the game and i think that that's how it should
be like it's just uh i don't think there's any organic way to fit
fix it and I don't know that it needs fixing because I think it just is okay like obviously
it's it's a disadvantage to go earlier because you want to stay late or whatever but like I don't
know I think that it's fine and I think more people are challenged for being too strong post
merge than are that are that are targeted for being too weak pre-merge yeah because even when
you get the challenge threat out there's the next challenge threat and there's the next challenge
threat that's literally like a selling point of every tribal council after the merge whether or
not that vote actually happens you're always like can we beat them in a challenge it's like well
they haven't won any so we should be able to but they do have a lot of muscles and I think that a
lot of times you know we just said that if you're voting about because they suck at the challenge
it's usually just an excuse I think that it is a genuine thing like we voted out Kyle on my season
because he wouldn't stop winning immunity like that was a
the genuine reason right and so you can actually go home and people were targeting me because I
won too many challenges so like I think that you can actually go home from that in a way that I
don't think happens as much the other way yeah I agree I think so and uh it's impossible even if
it's not fully true it's impossible to ever get away from like we've seen so many people get
targeted after the merge for being challenge beasts when they haven't even come close to
based off of physical appearance alone I would argue they've already kind of done it where they've
negated a lot of the it's not like the muscly dudes are the ones winning all the challenges
and yet those are the people that always get targeted for like being a challenge threat like
they're athletic or whatever and it's like that's not how the game has played out for many many many
years now and people still haven't really wise wised up to like who are the challenge threats
until it's someone like you Rachel when you you know win a bunch of challenges and then it's like
oh this person's actually a challenge threat
but like prior to that that's not your perception I don't know I think between me and Savannah
they're gonna like start going after the like the yoga girls who do pilates
that's who they should be targeting the whole time it's all strength to weight it's the strength to
weight ratio maybe then we'll finally uh get like people will stop doing yoga as a group on on the
beach like we saw this episode I didn't want to shit on it Riley I was gonna just knock it out
on it this time I would hate to be there like uh I gotta go do the yoga on the beach now because
everyone's doing it and then Devin offering to take everyone to church at tribal council
was like my worst nightmares it was like oh making me pray on national tv I was a little
confused by that it's like oh god because it felt like he said that in reaction to something Alexis
said and I wasn't I didn't understand the connection between and I grew up going to church
like I really like felt very lost in the church and I grew up going to church and I grew up going to
that moment like what did she say that her shot was something about hope she's like if you want
what did she say if you want hope she said if you're scared go to church oh if you're scared
go to survivor take risks so it's kind of like a little shot at people who go to church like if
you're scared go to church if you want to take risks was sort of like a dig on religion but
I just didn't totally understand I think so but anyways yeah his reaction felt very like heated
which is why I was confused and I was like I don't know what to do I don't know what to do I don't
know what to do I don't know what to do I don't know what to do I don't know what to do I don't know what to do I was confused by the because I just didn't understand what she meant yeah I I think it was a small day his parents are pastors yeah yeah and that he could give you the sermon which is kind of crazy for her to shoot when she's like oh the chopping block yeah yeah like weird to dig at the people that are have your life on the line

Is iced coffee worth playing for?
I thought it was interesting that the reward was iced coffee.
And I was just wondering if that is worth playing for.
So I started drinking coffee on my winning season of Survivor.
We won that exact reward.
And everybody else was like, I'm not going to get addicted to caffeine out here.
And I was like, I'm drinking it because it comes with creamer and sweetener.
So why not?
So Kat and I were the only ones that were drinking it.
And I was just drinking it with heavy creamer and heavy sweetener.
And then I was like, oh, coffee is pretty good when it's just mostly like ice cream soup.
Well, if I won it, I would definitely drink it.
But my thing is just like, of all the things you could be giving them on day nine,
like day nine is kind of a brutal. I think that you're just coming out and you've played many more times than me, Tyson.
But I think that for me, days like. Like five to eight are the hardest physically where your body is like
out of adrenaline from the game starting,
out of all the calories you came in with.
And now it's like, oh my God.
And those were like the heavy days where you feel like you weigh like 10,000 pounds
and you're like, can't move your legs.
And so I get that coffee would help that.
But also, you know what else would?
Like some food.
I don't know.
Yeah.
I don't think it's meant to.
I think like, I think that's the goal is like,
make the second prize,
like just give them a taste so that it makes them a little angrier
about even winning that second prize to begin with.
Like the first prize is the prize.
They did get biscuits too.
Nope.
Yeah, they got biscuits.
Just the first place did.
First place did.
Yeah, the first place.
First place got biscuits.
Second place I feel like doesn't deserve any calories.
That's what I'm saying.
So first place got iced coffee.
They also got a coffee kit with actual coffee and sweetener and creamer
and all of that stuff.
Plus they got biscuits.
That's more than enough.
So you go back, you divide all the biscuits up.
There's nowhere to hide them.
So you put them all in the same cookie jar.
And then Tyson comes in when nobody else is in camp
and jams as many in his mouth as he can
and walks off to the toilet place and chews them up there.
Yeah.
And so that definitely is worth something.
The second place prize of just iced coffee is just like,
here's what defeat tastes like.
And that's what they get.
Which tribe got first?
Dina, the new tribe.
So Kilby and Eric running on extra coffee.
Yeah.
I would like to have seen a few of that.
The little scenes from, you know, maybe we'll get it next time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How much faster can Eric talk?
Oh my gosh.
He's great.
He, yeah.
I do.
He, Eric did message me.
Actually, and said it is a kind of an adjustment
getting labeled as the clown on the season.
He didn't realize that that was going to happen to him,
but he's taking it in stride.
So.
Oh, interesting.
I find him to be like such a well-intentioned, genuine person.
Yes.
Like he was tearing up when Kilby was telling him the sad story.
He's like highly emotional, highly empathetic.
I think he is just like a lot and that's okay.
A lot of people, some people just are a lot.
And I think in real life,
everyone,
everyone has friends like that.
Like they're very easy to love.
I think it's just like in this situation
where you're on an island
and you're trapped with these people 24 seven,
it's, it's just a different type of experience.
So, you know, who was like that for me was coach.
My first season.
I came in and coach was so genuine
and so sincere to like an extreme degree.
And then he started grading on everybody.
But at that point, like,
I was already too endeared to him or him to me or whatever.
And I felt too bad.
Like I was like, I can't vote coach out.
He loves me too much.
And I think Eric is one of those people too,
where you could be like,
you just feel endeared to him
because he's willing to feel so much for.
Yeah.
You're like, I can't devastate this man
because he is just too fragile in a good way.
Yeah.
I think that's a good thing to have.
Like, like people having, uh, uh, the benefit of,
like you get the benefit of the doubt a little bit.
Like, I don't want to do that to him.
I don't want to like, it's, it's a similar vein to the,
I don't want to piss off Brady thing,
but it's like the opposite, right?
It's like the other side.
the scale of like i don't want to break his heart i'm scared of him and i like don't want to hurt
him uh yeah yeah he won't be okay after this if i if something happens to him
it's a bro hug made me laugh aloud the bro hug yeah it's a bro hug that's also very coach like
is like hey tyson can i give you a hug right now it's like in front of everybody like i don't mind
hugging that's totally fine but let's not do it in front of everybody's where they're like oh i
wonder if they're in an alliance uh i like i like how these two eric and kill me have been on the
same beach for like six hours and we were already getting confessions it was like we got to watch
out for eric and kill me those two are really close yeah yeah they're probably not even six
hours um yeah yeah shorter than that uh so yeah i i don't know i think that's that was really funny
and then let's go to the losing tribe savu
jenna and alexis i feel i feel bad for jenna what could she have done dead on arrival spot nothing
i don't think there's anything she could have done because knowing that those other three
were together i think the only thing she could have done is throw alexis more under the bus
which she kind of did like i don't know yeah she tried i i was um kind of surprised that alexis
didn't go here because what i thought that they were going to do kind of in the vein of this
season where people are voting against each other even though they're not going to vote against each
other even while they're with each other would be that it would it would be um jelly devon and jenna
voting alexis but then or he could have voted jenna and so then they keep that helicopter alliance
more under the radar versus now they've already made the the tribe break where you know devon i
mean i guess it's like not like devon and jelly were already so openly gunning for jenna before
that it's not going to be like oh you're not toka strong but it is a little they could have like all
maintained the cover of the book and then they're like oh you're not toka strong but it is a little
her story had alexis gone yeah that is true they didn't even consider that yeah i mean
it felt like jelly because i think what jenna did successfully was convince jelly at least if
not jelly and devon that alexis was a better play because she came to her being like alexis said
that you two are threats that you two could you know whatever and um and jelly wasn't confessional
being like i think it's actually a better idea to get rid of alexis here
but i'm worried we're gonna piss off ori and i think that ori and alexis is the thing that really
like killed her chances i feel like ori has said he doesn't watch survivor he is not like playing
the most strategic game and i think in his mind his number one uh priority was devon and jelly
like being on their side and his second priority is staying close with the person he came from his
old drive with which was alexis and i i don't know i don't know if i'm going to be able to
i think we saw that even though we never heard him say that we saw alexis say the same thing to ori
about dev and jelly and say like they're dangerous like you know they're in power and then we
literally saw jelly and ori talking and jelly saying that alexis was saying this about her and
devon um because she heard it from jenna and ori not saying that alexis like he was defending her
in that moment by not revealing that ori was saying that jenna was saying that jenna was saying
she had also said that to him which could have been a very big death sentence for alexis and so
i think that even though we didn't really see ori say he was trying to protect alexis he clearly was
in a way that he probably had no interest in why would he protect jenna um so it's just really
interesting but i don't know i felt kind of bad yeah i think of all three tribes this was the
worst one to lose because it just felt like the most foregone conclusion yeah kilby said it at
the you know it wasn't ultimately his tribe that went but he said it
at the beginning of the episode it's the classic survivor swap screw yeah yeah i uh
i think also in the long run jenna has damaged alexis's game they're looking at her damage
alexis's game yeah alexis she got real aggressive she got really it's one thing to be like we could
vote out one of the shoes shoes giving your shoes crazy behavior i oh my god i sent
my pants i don't know if they knew it at this point what i sent my pants home on laura with
laura uh morett on blood versus water she said give me your pants so i know i'm not going home
tonight and i said okay and i voted her out and she took my pants with her to this day i think
she still has them you can't really ask for the back after you know like you can't you also can't
say no because you say no and they're like oh they're targeting me like you have to give them
up jenna said no
she should have given her the shoes i knew that she had no i think she knew she had no like why
would she uh like yeah because what's weird is that it it at some point became very clear as one
of either jenna or alexis so you're like if you're jenna you're like okay either i'm coming back to
the beach with no shoes or i'm going to ponderosa with no shoes but either way i'm getting separated
from my shoes yeah she had no reason to like play into this bargain it did nothing for her um
yeah yeah alexis is like you know give give me this
collateral it's like alexis you are also on the bottom why would i be giving you anything for me
like give me your shoes then yeah i'll give you my shoes and give me your shot in the dark
there you go yeah how about that yeah yeah uh man at that time alexis knew she was voting
uh jenna out so was that just mean spirited of alexis was that like going to be like a
haha like i got your shoes and they're in the game or was she still on the fence about what
direction she was going to take jenna out i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
she was going to go it felt so paranoid i feel like she couldn't have known in that moment that
seems like a really crazy move to make if you know that you have the numbers to vote the other
person out like yeah it's just mean spirited so and she was being kind of like shoes have started
to like separate at the souls or something and you're like i know that this is like a real
shitty move but i really need another pair of shoes to get through this game jenna looks like
correct me if it's different now rachel you get two pair of shoes out there you get an athletic
pair and the the pair you're marooned with i can't pair yeah yeah so like usually like a slipper or
a you know um a sandal and then a sneaker for challenges but sue on my season
hurt like day three and we still don't know we still have not gotten to the bottom of this um
one of her one of her challenge shoes went missing yeah and uh she's convinced that somebody on
their tribe like chucked it in the ocean and she played with her she had like thankfully she had
closed toed shoes as her camp shoes but she played with these like heavy ass timberland boots for the
rest every challenge you can see her wearing these like thick heavy boots i don't even know why those
were her camp shoes but like i i mean thank god they weren't sandals or some of these challenges
would be brutal um so yeah it if you lose them you lose them you know yeah it is true uh i'm always a
tennis shoe guy so i had tennis shoes plus tennis shoes so that's that's nice yeah everybody shows
up in like sundresses and three-piece suits and i'm in jeans and a t-shirt they're like what do
you do for work i was like nothing really i never have and they're like oh okay your outfit makes
your outfit makes sense see i got i got like cast like i sent in um a pair of like strappy sandals
uh because i wanted my feet to breathe once in a while and
then i was told you need uh closed toed shoes like can you like some like cloggy type things
and then i found out later they sold the same thing to genevieve and i was like are they
discriminating against footwear over the over 30 females like uh we we're not allowed to wear
sandals because we're too old like you know i don't know oh because they don't want to see your
toes my feet were so messed up my feet were my feet are not attractive you don't want to see
them but my feet needed to breathe and they didn't and they were disgusting um so okay
uh i have like a two on wiki feet it's deserved oh you saw it you saw what your rank was yeah
well still it's not a one um i wonder what robs are from last week uh with the rank what are you
what i don't know i never looked oh come on you've looked what rank what is this talk
wiki feet you go on wiki feet and you see what a foot uh famous people what
what all of the men on our season were on were were logged into wiki feet before the women
it was pretty funny there he has 12 photos this is 12 feet photos of tyson yep okay tyson you have
a 4.77 out of five stars wow wow wow people love your feet you need to you need to flash this on
the screen riley um this is just a show this is crazy this is like uh just another reason to not
go on survivor i can't believe it they're instantly logging
every contestant's feet just wear your socks all the entire season yeah just wear socks i've never
taken off my socks it's like never nude for feet socks on on beach sand is actually a pretty nice
experience it's great yeah yeah yeah because you don't want to be barefoot i cut my foot the second
i was barefoot but and you wear socks you can't wear shoes all day because it's hot never and i
most of the game. It didn't heal
to like the very end um so wow don't at me rob you can deal with it yeah um okay four seven
something that's pretty good i guess i it's very good i have a broken toe that's pretty deformed
so they didn't really zoom in on that one they're into that well maybe they liked it maybe i don't
think they could get it um god all right i cannot be googling this stuff from a work laptop i'm
sorry i gotta i gotta x out of this stop it riley someone in it is going to be like uh this uh
riley at the ringer googled wiki feet tyson apostle from his work laptop yes 11 a.m that's
a problem wait before we go to tribal council uh what do you think about cooking the chicken
before tribal i feel like you should save it for after one of these people is going to go
and get all the food they want you always save it for after but also it's a little telling
when you're there and you're like jenna maybe just hold that off on the chicken you don't need
as much yeah listen alexis and jenna there's one more portion it's actually a portion and a half
and we're saving it till after tribal for whichever one of you comes back
neither of you get to eat until after tribal you do you you do everything you can to stall that
meal because it does kind of upset you like you come back you're like why didn't we give her a
that chicken yeah it's one thing when it's like a crab and everyone's getting one leg anyway but
when it's a whole chicken that's a that's a big meal yeah yeah so they have hid the chicken and
would that have saved them if jenna was like you guys can't vote me out because i know where the
chickens are and if you vote me out no more chickens would that have worked the balking
unless you killed them first maybe
i have wondered if hijacking stuff would help like if you hid the whole rice supply and we're
just like hey heads up i buried the entire rice supply all the rice is gone yeah that's a move
i have the flint and steel in my pocket right now i will say someone on in the post-merge of my season
uh i think intentionally pocketed the flint and production gave us a new one yeah they gave you
a new one but i think if they made it part of the story maybe the production wouldn't give
maybe maybe um
yeah he didn't say anything about it we were just like where's the flint yeah and then we slept
probably not gonna win you a ton of votes in the end if you're like i'm stealing all the rice in
flint if you uh but if you're going home anyway what's the what's the harm you know yeah yeah i
guess that's a good point yeah i would uh i would try definitely hiding the rice
and what you could do i've thought about this a lot rachel you could bury the rice in different
places with just like a portion of it so it's just portioned out
so you're like yeah you can follow me and i'll unbury one portion of it but
then you target me the next time there's more portions that are all scattered all over the
island only i know where they're at i like that but you don't have enough containers you're just
putting in the dirt i like it where you figure it out like a box of mason jars with you you steal
everyone's socks put a portion of each person's socks and then there you go and now you've stolen
the food and their socks yeah you'll get your socks back when your portion of the rice is gone
portion of the rice is dug up for us to eat
yeah everyone's gonna love you oh i think it would work a little bit again so you can do this please
i already have to go on a reward by myself after the merge uh
so okay i could do it i just need the price pool to be at like eight million dollars
oh yeah i'm sure it will be you know i want a million dollars
and five seasons later someone's gonna win like six million i'm gonna yeah cry yeah that's that's
why i only play the lottery when it's over a billion this season do i think it is i mean
50 50 chance right i don't know well yeah but uh i don't know it was last time so will it again
uh it's always 50 50 rachel uh so yeah i understand i understand i'm asking you for
your prediction tyson not your math okay for some reason
reason i feel like whatever survivor needs to happen happens so i think it's not going to hit
this season so that next season it's three million that's what happens right it will be three million
next season well it'll be it'll be a two million flip two million next season but it yeah it could
roll it could continue to roll from there okay so i think it won't hit this so this there's a
so this season it doubles okay but then if it doesn't hit then the two million becomes three
million flips so it's a two million dollar coin flip next season if that doesn't hit it becomes
a three million dollar coin flip the next season okay so i understand now i just need it to hit
tails seven times and then you're gonna go on do we do we have we speculated about whether it's a
like somebody has to flip the coin or can if everybody is not willing to flip the coin
is it null that season
yeah
i don't i think it's gonna be like it was for 50 where it was they were like if no one volunteers
we're gonna draw rocks and someone has to flip that sucks it should be a choice especially if
you're talking about the the um like the consequence of it i think you should get to
chickens okay yeah i think you should get to flip it for an advantage or you can just flip it and
choose to flip it so like right now you could like they should put it up so that you can choose to
so like this tribal council agenda could have been like you know what my odds are 50 50 anyways between
me and alexis i'm just gonna flip the coin this time maybe maybe something like that but i do think
that they need to figure out a way where um it's not out of desperation all the time because like
rick devins it made sense for him to just flip it last season right but that's why i think that if
if it's this season at the final seven or something that they're like you know flip it
um but everybody is in a position where they don't feel like it's the vote we're not sure where the
vote's going and i think i'm safe even though i might be a target and no one wants to flip it i
think it should just like okay we're just it's a it's a buy season we just like kick the can
instead of forcing someone to do it feels okay what about this rachel you go on a journey
and if you win the puzzle thing at the journey you get an advantage and if you lose you have to
flip the coin at that point and you're like okay i'm gonna flip it and i'm gonna flip it and i'm
tribal council fine better but still like i think i think if i'm going to flip a coin and
the result is my death could be my death it should be my choice whether i get to flip the
coin or not it's the same thing and they did it with 41 and 42 or 42 and 43 where they had the
like the the monty hall thing with the skull boxes right and it's like because they were
out first in the challenge or whatever but i believe that challenge the challenge was
you get to choose whether you like participate in the challenge so it still was a choice to some
extent um still like i think i don't like it but i think that there was there was agency there i
think i think just i went on a journey and now i mean i maybe have to like die a 50 50 shot of
dying that's so anti-survivor to me okay so what about this uh you get you go on a journey
and if you choose to
flip the coin for yourself you can get an extra reward on top of it like an immunity idol
if you flip the coin and stay you get an immunity idol secret immunity idol i think that
or you can choose don't you get an immunity or you can choose who flips the coin
like that's the advantage you go and jeff's like is anybody before we go to vote anybody have
anything to play and you're like i got this jeff it says i get to choose one person to flip the coin
and it's them
i don't like it i don't like it i just think that like going home because some like not being voted
out and going home on survivor on a chance thing feels anti-survivor to me and i would rather have
it be like what riley said where it is kind of like a super shot in the dark um because you're
like i do get an idol if i flip this um and i don't go home and i'm going home anyway so i have
like no real risk there um i just don't like the idea of anyone being eliminated not by a vote i
without a choice so what if they made a vote yeah what if they had the vote but the vote was for who
flips the coin not who goes home that's fine then it's like we're voting like a survivor style where
we vote and like you think someone's going home but really it's like they're going to exile or
something yeah you vote and they flip the coin but you let them know in advance say the coin this is
tribal council you vote on who flips the coin if they flip correct everyone goes home if they flip
it wrong they go home
i don't know better than yeah we'll keep workshopping it here i'm sure survivor did the
thing that we are going to hate the most uh but they might certainly act like it you know yes
yes it'll be critical for sure um
i don't know at tribal council do we have much we have i just liked that or he was like
shoot the three 180 so quickly from layup to three-pointer big move uh which was
It's just him like blocking that he's actually with Jelly and Devin.
I think that he was like, it was still his layup, but it was funny.
I think this helicopter alliance is going deep.
It's the only alliance we've had any visibility on.
And it keeps coming back up and they're very loyal.
It keeps coming back up.
They're very loyal to each other.
I think that like, you know, I know one of them is already gone out of the five,
but I think of the four, like three of them have to make the merge.
And I bet that at least two of them are like end gamers.
It just feels too important right now.
There's too much, like, obviously they were very relevant to this episode,
but I feel like the last couple of episodes, not that relevant out of the,
out of the vote, like not, not voting correctly.
And yeah, it's just been all about them.
So yeah, it feels too important for how.
And it's, yeah, it's so locked into like Ori is like,
I'm locked in with Jelly and Devin.
And so, yeah, I think so too.
Aaliyah, what if they all are like the final four, final five?
How many are in the helicopter alliance?
Four left.
Yeah.
Aaliyah's first one gone.
It's like, that could have been me.
That could have been me if I would have just snuck through once.
Yeah.
That's going to be sad.
And then the last thing for our audience before we get to Riley's reads,
I just thought this was a little fun.
Inside.
Miss ball for our fans.
Once Jenna exited and Jeff watched her walk away.
That pause is very great.
Jeff is looking there waiting for Jenna to be out of earshot of the final words
of tribal council.
So it, what looks like a blip on TV, like Jenna's walking out,
she's taking this long walk.
The production team is like, follow us as we film you walking away.
And then they lead her to the shed.
Closer in the shed or in a car or something.
And then, uh, Jeff commences with tribal council, but it's a handful of seconds,
if not minutes where everyone's on lockdown for a second, and then Jeff just closes it.
But I don't know why that his look at Jenna brought me some, uh, flashbacks
of either sitting at tribal being like, let's just go back to camp.
We already.
Know that.
And he's like, hold this second.
We don't want them to hear us say goodbye to each other or also taking that walk many times.
And I was like, I can still kind of fucking hear you.
You assholes.
Well, it's always the, you know, the, um, the last person before the jury starts, uh, it's always that, that like
cheer wherever, and no matter how far away you are, you're, you're hearing that, you know, this is a brutal
congratulations.
You've made the jury and you.
Hear this is like raw and you're like, uh, yeah.
And you're like, and they can hear us in the wound.
Yeah.
And then you get like one of the producers coming in and being like, thanks for playing.
And you're just like seething, like, give me food right now.
Uh, yeah, I'm glad we've gotten more people who are seething this season are really at least like disappointed or whatever.
Versus, I mean, there was like a run there where every person who went home would just be like, no regrets.
This was the dream of a lifetime and I had the best time.
And everything was great.
Yep.
Good game rooting for all of them.
Just hope everyone has a good time.
It's like, no, I want to, I want to feel the hurt and we're, we're finally getting that again.
Yeah, we definitely are.
Just like you always wanted Riley.
Um, yeah, I just live for people, you know, being in pain, watching the disappointment, but not physical pain.
Like Rob was last week, I was going to go there, but you went there, got it.
Uh, Riley, what do we have?
All right.
All right.
Let's go through our categories.
Uh, who advanced?
Who advanced their game the most this episode?
Tyson, you want to start us off?
Uh, maybe Kilby.
I feel like this is a tough one.
Yeah.
Kilby made some inroads.
Kristen, I think made some good inroads.
Uh, obviously Alexis is still there when she was kind of maybe a target.
I don't know that she furthered her game though.
I disagree with that one.
I think, I think probably Kilby.
Oh, we didn't talk about Kilby kind of doing his like pity me.
Thing with his new tribe, uh, and Eric, I was a little worried.
It was heavy.
I was worried.
It was heavy handed, but it did actually seem to be working.
So I thought that was interesting.
Yeah, it certainly worked on Eric.
I felt like I agree.
I thought it was pretty heavy handed.
And if I was sitting there, I'd be like, I get what you're doing.
You're on the two.
We have four, like, it's very transparent to me what's going on here.
But Linnea's face genuinely looked like, I mean, I respectfully, I think it was always going to work.
And Eric, but I was worried about the other people on the tribe and like what their read of it would be.
And it felt like, we don't know, we didn't hear from their POV, but it felt like they were, they were pitying him, whether that's going to give him, you know, legs.
I don't know, but, uh, I was thinking to non, I like her as a, you know, she was on the right side of the votes last week and has now made a new number.
One with Carter and is, uh, I think, I guess we didn't see her and Kristen talking, but I think the, like, so it's to non Maggie, Mike and Brady.
So that they're, they're split.
And I feel like Kristen feels more like she would go with, uh, to non and Maggie than with Brady and Mike.
Yeah.
I like the answer.
That's a good one.
I do too.
Um, I think for me, Kristen did.
She did the best for me just because she came into a group that was already just like locked up.
Right.
And she came in, was extremely helpful.
Brady was extremely happy that she's around, which is always a good person to have on your side.
And the only person who was looking at her sideways was Carter.
So, and Carter is just having fun in this, in this beautiful game.
So I'm not sure how much, uh, pull he has over, over the group.
So I'm glad that she was able to show that she was.
I'm useful, eat this.
Isn't that interesting?
That's nice.
And everyone really likes her.
So I think that solidified her in that group.
Okay.
I think I, uh, I think I agree with you, Rachel.
I think it's 10 on with all these connections that she's making and stuff.
She's one where it's like, she had a very quiet couple of episodes and then has come on too.
So maybe there's hope for her.
I'm glad we're seeing more of her.
She seems smart.
Last season she came on, last episode she came on and now she's like even solidifying that more and Carter's recognizing her as a strategic power.
Our house.
Um, okay.
Who damaged their game the most?
I think Mike, Mike going around, that's what I had written down trying to sell everybody.
Yeah.
He's just like, Hey, so I'm open to working to talk about this here, open to work.
So I thought I was like in all the, all those conversations, all those conversations he was having, I was like, man, I just like, don't think I'd be picking up what he's putting down.
And here, like, it just did not come across as authentic to me.
And then that's like, you know what we got.
I love to not being like, he said that if we were back at home, like I would be one of his best friends.
It's funny.
He never said that until he voted wrong.
Yeah.
He could have said it any other time.
Absolutely nailed him.
The last eight days that we had together.
Yeah.
I agree.
It's Mike, but I also think Alexis didn't, I think she's, uh, kind of tossing Devin and Jelly.
Out in the way she did.
Um, I don't know that that's a good omen for her.
I'm going to say like maybe Kilby and Eric.
I think that they showed that they're best friends too quick and too open for everybody to notice.
And I, such a mistake.
Like, first off, everyone is already not feeling Eric.
So if Kilby aligns himself with Eric, what does that do?
How many people are going to look at him weirdly, you know, but also it's just like, you're not supposed to show.
That you're making best friends with people.
It's supposed to be secret.
What happened to the secrets guys?
I don't see it there.
So.
It's hard to hide love.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh.
I think those two getting immediately clocked is like, Hey, we got to watch out for these guys.
It's like a really bad sign.
It's like, you gotta, you know, we've seen some successful alliances where people are like, we gotta keep this under wraps.
You know, don't, let's not go to the water well too many times or whatever.
And Eric and Kilby are just like hand in hand.
Like.
Just skipping along down the beach.
It feels like Kilby is willing to cut Eric.
And if that's the case and Eric gets targeted first for their bromance, I kind of feel like it's could be good for Kilby.
But Eric wouldn't cut Kilby.
You don't think?
I don't think so.
This, this one afternoon they spent together.
It's already unbreakable for Eric.
Perfect afternoon.
It was the perfect, have you ever heard a perfect day by Lou Reed?
That's pretty much drinking sangria in the park.
That's this song.
That's this bromance.
Eric and Kilby sitting on the beach, coffee on the beach, coffee, delicious talking at a hundred words a second.
Yeah.
Um, did you also, wait, I also wanted to point out the, so last week we called the group, the cool kids club.
Like we coined that cool kid group.
We got a little bit of harassment about calling the cool kid group a bunch.
And now.
Now they're calling it on Survivor, the cool kid, jock group.
and the nerds versus the jocks.
And we got a little bit of blowback for it last week.
Come on, guys.
We're fortune tellers.
We can see the future over here.
So yeah, Alexis was like,
let's do some revenge of the nerds on these guys.
What were people saying?
They're like, don't call them cool kids.
They're not cool.
No, somebody was like,
you guys are being too flirty with Pat
in the exit press calling her the cool group
and the cool kid.
There was a person who said
that we were flirting with Pat in the exit press.
And I was like, that is ridiculous.
I mean, Pat's attractive.
We can flirt with her.
Don't add us.
I only flirt with Ozzy.
I don't flirt with Pat.
Yeah.
Those blue eyes, Riley.
Ozzy loves them.
So anyways, we were right on the money again.
Thank you very much.
Riley, what else you got?
All right, let's do winner picks.
Okay, Rachel.
I picked my winner pick after episode one.
And I'm going to stick with Kristen.
I love her.
I feel like she is so steady.
And I think she's one of the people that she knows so much,
but she doesn't give off condescending.
She doesn't give off like,
I just, I see her with legs in this game.
Yeah.
Kristen has been my pick as well.
And I think she,
I got a little worried
as she kind of like stepped into a leadership role a little bit,
but she's been able to like not really be the leader,
be like a steady presence when you need,
but not be overbearing and controlling
and telling people what part they're going to do in the challenge.
So I think. It did make me nervous that like Carter was saying what he said about her
because we saw her, you know,
she stepped up with her like knowledge of camp and all of that.
And Brady was very impressed.
But that was kind of all we saw was that
and then the Carter not buying her thing.
And I don't think it's bad that Carter didn't buy it.
I think the problem is,
does she know that Carter didn't buy it?
Yeah.
Because that could be a problem later
if she thinks she's back in with Carter.
So that's my only flag on my winner pick right now.
She buttered him up.
Not a pig.
He's not a pig.
Ashley, who's your winner pick?
Sharonda.
Sticking with Sharonda this time.
That's a good, that's a good,
that's a good pick.
Yeah.
She is really good at not saying anything.
I can read her face just because I know what she's thinking
when people are doing improv and stuff around her.
It's annoying.
Da-da-da-da-da.
But she keeps a straight face.
She doesn't name any names until someone starts talking.
She gives just a little bit of input, but not too much.
I think she's also like,
she is like the best part of the helicopter alliance.
I would dare say like Devin's probably the one.
Yeah, Devin's the one who's kind of loose.
Um, Ori's like also pretty steady,
but Sharonda is like the one who we know is like,
oh, we are in an alliance.
I will vote how I vote.
You guys will know what's going on,
but I'm not going to say a word to anyone else.
I'm really enjoying watching her in the background just play.
I feel like Sharonda, okay.
We don't know enough,
but I feel like Sharonda's the brains of that,
of that alliance.
Jelly is the social of that alliance.
Ori's the muscle and Devin is the figurehead.
I think that like that is the structure.
Um,
so far.
And I think it's good to be Sharonda in that.
Like, like Devin thinks he's the brains,
muscle and social of that alliance.
He's like, I'm the triple threat,
three tool player here.
He's a great confessionalist.
Like he's, he's not holding back.
He's, I enjoy, he's very entertaining.
Um, he is by far, I think I don't,
I have been looking at the stats,
but he has to have the most confessionals at this point.
Like he just, he is so present.
So present.
Yeah.
Um,
and Sharonda times I guess,
but yeah,
Sharonda,
I think is someone you have to have someone like Sharonda in your
alliance where there she's the rock.
Like you're not gonna get like a real emotional targeting from
her.
Like, you're not going to be like,
I want to get them out because their mustache is dumb.
Like she'll be like,
no, no,
no.
Let's all breathe for a second and consider
the most logical thing for our game.
Like you have to have somebody,
even if that person changes or if it's not,
if you're it sometimes,
but somebody else is it other times like Sharonda seems like that person
where I feel like for the helicopter Alliance to continue to exist
throughout this game,
those three have to get back to Sharonda so that she can have
input on their moves.
Otherwise they're going to have a hard time navigating without her.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I like your pick.
So is that your pick?
Tyson?
No,
mine's Kristen.
That's who I had from the beginning.
I'm just saying Sharonda is now coming into this position where I think
she's in a really great position,
Riley.
Yeah.
So I predict that yours is going to be a Sharonda.
Of course.
I've had Sharonda since preseason.
I'm definitely not jumping off the train now.
Don't take that away from me,
Riley.
I predicted it.
I could see it on your face.
Did it?
Yeah.
He read you.
He read you like a book.
Like a book, dude.
Three straight episodes of me sticking with her.
Of course, I'm going to stick with her through for a fourth episode.
Come on.
Whatever, bro.
I will say, I feel like this season's for the girls.
I'm just going to make the call.
I don't know who wins, but I think I feel like it's going to be a woman.
You know, we've had four, we've had four vote outs, not including, you know,
our, our boy who took himself out of the game and all four are women, but.
That's how it always goes.
I think all of them are women.
All the contenders, real contenders feel like women to me.
I, I, I'm, yeah, that's just my, my take.
You know, I am looking down the roster now and I'm having trouble seeing like a, I think,
I think Ori has real winner equity.
I think maybe Lewis has real winner equity.
I think Lewis, that damn accent, get him to Final Tribal and he's just going to woo, woo
all, wow, woo all of them.
So maybe it's a disadvantage.
You're like, I can't be sitting next to Lewis at Final Tribal.
I would be concerned about that.
I would be concerned if I was in the end game with, with Lewis.
Yeah, I agree.
I also, that was kind of where my comments earlier were like, generally the women are
targeted because they are not physically as strong as the men in some of these challenges
where you're trying to lift a gecko or a whale over this thing and, but then it shifts towards
more targeting the men.
So like the discourse of Survivor has been like, why are they keep targeting the women?
And, and then at the merge, like all the men are gone and they're like, okay, it's even
again.
Um, so how do we flop that?
Like, so that it, uh, shifts the other way sometimes do we play a reverse Survivor where
it starts as an individual game?
Well, it's the challenges were more balanced, soft touch, uh, you know, puzzle based at
the start, then it probably would help with that, but, but then it wouldn't flip the merge
scenario.
Yeah.
Well, then after the individual immunities are take the whale yourself over the obstacle
and then, you know, all the mounts.
Okay.
So everybody has, uh, everybody has a snake sewn inside of a gecko sewn inside of a well.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's the exact same weight.
They don't even like it.
It's just so good.
Okay.
I mean, I'm like, everybody, except for like one challenge is just like, all right, we're
just going to see how many bench press reps you can knock out.
I mean, they used to have the, uh, like the shoulder, you know, when they would add the,
the weights break in half on the, I think it was like doing actual damage to like people's
backs and stuff like compressing.
Um, yeah, did you do that?
You were the person with the weight or you've just played in that challenge.
I've I was the person with the weight.
Yeah.
On token chains.
How does that feel?
Uh, yeah.
How did it feel?
I think I was the scrawniest one on token chains.
I think one of the scrawniest guys, well, because there, it was, I think it was three people
from each tribe or something.
And I had come out as physically dominant early.
So I think it was me coach and Brendan, uh, versus J T um, Joe and somebody else on that
tribe, maybe Taj.
I don't remember who it was.
But J T broke the record that season or tied the record with Rupert that season.
Um, crazy, but it was very uncomfortable.
And once the weight got you down so much, it was hard to like stand up straight again.
So then you're just like, have this bow in your back while you're like, this isn't good
for me.
Uh, but I turned out okay.
Um, Riley, we got anything else?
I was just looking up that challenge and yeah, it was, uh, J T tied the record.
He had 220 pounds, just like I said, and he dropped, and then it was later broken by Brandon
Hance and Jim Rice in South Pacific, they had two All-Stars, um, did we get who's going
home next episode?
We gotta pick, we gotta pick boots, which is, so we saw in the preview prop says that
two tribes are going to tribal council.
Ooh.
So we had to pick two people
i think alexis that has big like odds wise i was gonna say alexis for sure it's just like
an automatic like if that tribe goes then you just yeah just so clear um yeah and then
unless there's something what do you think the blood ring is do you think that's a fake
oh yeah that was crazy do they get to call in a blood moon oh fuck that sorry
you could say it fuck that listen rachel there's moments where i'm driving around
in my car and i'm thinking back to the hourglass and i'm like what if when jeff brought up the
hourglass to the team everybody was like yeah great idea and one guy was like i don't think
it's a good idea and that guy got fired everybody else is like awesome idea jeff i love it we should
definitely do that and one guy's like are you sure that's a good idea i'm like i don't think
that's a good idea i'm like i don't think that's a good idea i'm like i don't think that's a good
idea i'm like i don't think that's a good idea i'm like i don't think that's a good idea i'm
sure it seems like a little and he's like done yeah yep so uh okay what were we talking about
who's going home yeah who's going home so we all agree if if sabu goes if sabu goes
it's gotta be alexis yeah toka toka we've got it's mike
but then why would it be so obvious but i think it's probably gonna be mike
um and then and then the only hitch here is that like so if carter is sus on kristin
but is with tanan could that would mean tanan and maggie and carter are like a three and then
you've got brady and mike and then kristin if if carter is refuses to work with kristin what
happens that's that's sort of the confusing well yeah i feel like tanan's gonna get her way over
carter if that's fair and maggie has an extra vote i forgot about yeah if maggie felt strongly
and carter wouldn't vote with them they could still have another vote okay yeah all right so
i think mike's the one there and then on uh the red on dina we've got eric or kilby that'd be
the easier votes would kilby be able to do it well couldn't it be lewis so if eric or kilby
could just pulled one more person in they'd strong arm everyone else so i feel like maybe
kilby and eric aren't going like all they really need is like lewis it once they pull lewis in
then they pull one more who would go over there but they were the ones saying lewis is like easy
chopping he's easy chopping but they could yeah they're probably grabbing linea and they're gonna
probably grab sharonda as well and then they'll have the the numbers against what is the pre-existing
tribe that christian was talking about christian everyone ronda linea sorry i don't remember
there's four of them so lewis and kilby and eric lewis and kilby are coming over
to eric sharonda christian and linea uh kilby's worked his way in with eric eric's gonna go to
i think lewis can work his way in with the bromance there maybe christian can too i don't know i think
of all the people he's the least like like i think of all the people for the accent to work on i don't
know if it's kilby and eric but if do you think if eric goes to bat for kilby that it won't be kilby
or do you think it's going to be kilby it's a good question i don't know but i also think that
if the four thinks they've lost eric and they want to get kilby they could pull in lewis and get rid
of eric yeah i kind of feel
like if they really want right i think if they feel like betrayed by eric they'd just go eric
first like that's how you teach him a lesson off his his only other option and bring him back and
force him to stay with yeah i mean that makes me worried for lewis in a way that i've never
been worried but yeah what if he's still sick by next episode though yeah then he gets home
yeah well we've put in a lot of thought and i think that that's where we should stop
my final answer is lewis okay i hate it though it goes against everything i said about his accent
i'm gonna say eric i think it's not kilby eric's gonna go to bat for kilby and then it's gonna come
back on him i like that prediction too ashley i'm gonna go for lewis i think he's too sick and
i think that i don't know maybe it will stop him from doing a lot of social gaming and then he'll
be like in the social impact is pretty nebulous for us uh we're gonna go with lewis i think he's
watching yeah but if he slept the whole first day that's not a good and then they're voting
someone else tomorrow that's bad yeah that's true riley i think i'm gonna say eric too i think uh
it's like if i were part of the toronto linea christian group you know and i saw eric and
kilby getting close i'd want to cut off one of them so then bring the other into me and normally
i would think okay obviously you get rid of kilby and keep eric who's on your tribe except we're
not a lot of people express that they find eric you know rather grading and i think they're
probably like kilby is out here being like i'm a free agent you know come get me and so it's like
all right let's we can do eric and then we can bring kilby in as a number that's what i think
so i guess i'll say eric yeah uh okay well we're split on winner's picks uh it's between
sharonda and kristin and we're split on who goes next uh yeah you're gonna call me back and we'll
or whatever yeah we will i will concede tyson and i can do that about kristin yeah yeah i'll concede
if i'm wrong um all right that'll do it here at the pod has spoken don't forget to like subscribe
and uh also rachel where can we get puzzle hungry uh play resolve.com or just go to the link in my
bio rachel a lamont um on instagram and yeah if you're uh would you say if you're hungry for puzzle
if you're hungry for puzzle yeah if you're hungry for puzzle get puzzle hungry um i play this with
my kids they love it it's uh two-sided puzzles stackable and you see who can make the most
puzzles and there's handicaps for kids so that they can get scored differently if you have a
strong advantage over them uh but we'll uh bust that out and i like how all the boxes fit into
the big box when you're all done i know it's
very it's very uh bento boxy you know it feels good it looks nice yeah it did feel good i actually
was like i don't know if they designed it this way but i fit all the boxes in the giant box when i
was done with the puzzle and it's amazing i'm brilliant intentional but i appreciate that you
think you're brilliant tyson and with that uh until tomorrow's exit press let us know if we
missed anything we'll touch on it tomorrow see ya

Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Rachel Lamont reflects on Rob’s exit, praising his erratic gameplay and self-delusion while expressing confusion over his offer to return for a second chance.
The episode highlights the tension and unpredictability of hothead players like Brady, whose emotional outbursts create drama but also pose risks to alliances and game dynamics.
A key concern is the balance of trust and secrecy in alliances—leaking plans can lead to backtracking or destabilizing the game, especially when key players are left out.
The season’s three-tribe merge is criticized as underwhelming, disrupting strong dynamics and reducing strategic depth compared to larger, more balanced tribes.
Player interactions, such as Carter and Tanon’s alliance, and Eric and Kilby’s bromance, showcase evolving relationships and alliances that add depth to the game.
The show’s humor and commentary are amplified by absurd analogies, like “buttering up a pig,” which reveal players’ playful yet strategic approaches to the game.
Challenge performance is less influential later in the season, with loyalty and trust becoming more important than physical strength or results.
The episode questions whether production’s game design consistently serves narrative and strategic engagement, especially when it undermines strong dynamics.
Summary:
FAQs
Rob exited Survivor due to a combination of self-delusion and erratic gameplay. His exit was seen as hilarious by fans, though it sparked debate over his claim of wanting a second chance to return to the game.
Rachel believes Brady is a hothead who becomes intensely emotional when things don't go his way. While his intensity gives him some staying power, it also makes him a problematic player to navigate, especially as a threat in strategic alliances.
Yes, fans criticized the three-tribe merge as underwhelming after strong dynamics were established. Many felt it disrupted the game’s tension and reduced strategic depth compared to larger, more competitive tribes.
The 'buttered pig' comment was a humorous anecdote used by Carter, referencing a fictional scenario where he allegedly buttered up a pig before the show. It became a joke about game strategy and player dynamics, not literal pig handling.
Early in the game, challenge performance matters as a reason for elimination, but later, loyalty and alliances become more important. Targeting players for being too strong in challenges becomes more common post-merge than pre-merge.
