The transcript blends promotional content from Progressive Insurance and Ulta Beauty with an in-depth discussion of Survivor season strategies and player dynamics. Progressive highlights savings opportunities through insurance switching, while Ulta promotes beauty gifts from top brands, encouraging both gifting and self-care. The central focus shifts to a critical episode of Survivor, where player Rob attempts to exit the game by feigning an injury, but fails due to lack of belief from the tribe and medical inconsistencies. The narrative explores how early-game shock and emotional stress influence quit decisions, while also analyzing strategic gameplay like rumor-spreading, alliance formation, and information control. A key moment involves Carter defecting and the tribe destroying oars, missing a hidden idol, showcasing poor tactical judgment. The episode also reflects on evolving Survivor culture, where players are more transparent about their strategies and feelings, increasing accountability and tension. Ultimately, the discussion underscores the game’s balance between deception, trust, and survival, with players navigating psychological and physical challenges to stay in the game. The episode ends with a focus on how real-time decisions, such as alliance shifts and hidden advantages, shape outcomes and relationships on the island.

welcome back to the pod has spoken
we're here
another crazy episode a pretty wild season great start to be honest um and we are here with uh
my forever rocks ashley on vacation as well we're both uh yeah you know from the field
but yes we never miss an episode no matter what riley will go on vacation and leave his computer
behind but uh he's here with us this time i think the last time i missed an episode i was on
paternity leave
i had a child but you were like just like at your house right yeah with a new form but like from like
pretty much the exact room from that we see you in right now uh you know more or less yeah okay
look at i'm not it wasn't vacation i'm just clarifying it wasn't vacation
i don't we so you didn't have fun with that paternity leave then
do you i don't think uh you know taking care of a newborn is obviously extremely precious and
amazing but it's not a vacation all right you i think you know this tyson okay fine whatever riley
you're here now and that's what matters most to us and also you're a father uh so uh with us today
we have a good friend of the pod the survivor t-shirt master yes for almost a decade t-shirt
master ashley's got her survivor lover merch on oh nice ethan's on ethan you got a new shirt on too
here i got a new shirt on as always i love to um launch my new merch on your pod so i have a whole
new line of merch out there voted out i have what i'm calling the survivor super fade line
of merch so i got voted out i got like survivor africa's jersey survivor all-star season 40 season
51 so go to ethanzot.com check out all the new merch and uh yeah you're gonna look great at all
these watch parties coming up yeah i can't wait uh and ours are in the mail you said you couldn't
get them to us in time so ours are in the mail can't wait great they look amazing uh i know you
put a lot of time into them he'll send me uh screenshots of them and be like what do you want to do with them
you put a lot of time into them he'll send me uh screenshots of them be like what do you think of
this what do you think of this and then he does whatever i suggest he does the opposite so it's
worked for him so far so let's see if that trend continues ethan you're in day six on survivor
in deep yeah you got to get out why not just say a snake bit you so many so many incredible
i wish this guy rob spent as much time strategizing about the game and how to move forward in the game
than strategizing on how to vote himself off or get voted out he would have been fine right he's
a pretty smart guy he's really creative ways to get himself out of this game but clearly it didn't
go over so well with the rest of the tribe i gotta go through this whole thing because it's
wild to me to be honest like it's really wild like to the point where it's like fake
sick to get out of school and your mom's like let me see your throat okay let me take your
temperature okay let me and like he's failing every test and jeff's just sitting there like
uh-huh like if jeff comes in you know it's serious like jeff doesn't show up to the camp unless
they think someone could die right like he's not showing up to the camp and so it's wild that he
held out so much time to get out of school and your mom's like let me see your throat okay let me
i can't understand it what are we gonna get from him tomorrow like we have exit press with him
tomorrow riley i just want to make sure he's okay he's physically okay we know he's physically okay
what happened to the foot does he still have it no it's gone now
it's amputated what if he shows up tomorrow without a foot
dude then how will we feel
yeah i think we gotta make a bunch of pretty mad about that yeah
like noel and shad would be like what the hell man you know this is cool yeah i i don't know
like i i don't have words for it like to think that a doctor's gonna come and look at you and
you're gonna be able to like i guess colton did that with his appendicitis feigning appendicitis
but that's not the case i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know
that's the play there faint appendicitis like that's harder for a doctor to be like
there's nothing here yeah there's a small cut is it infected no but you can get infection from
any cut okay i better go home i'm in that's me i'm infected i don't know if you remember that
seinfeld clip where kramer like is like suing people for drink getting spilling hot coffee
over himself and the guy's like hey okay instead of a million dollars i'm gonna give you all the
coffee you want for the year and
kramer's like i'm in i'll take it like missing out on the total deal this guy was just waiting
for the doctor to have one nugget of kernel that he could grasp onto to exit himself from the game
it was unbelievable i've never said it and you can jeff hates when people quit the show and i
assume that um he would have known that but it's such a dumb ass move because one he doesn't know
the rules of the game because last night he tried to vote himself off which i don't think the rest
of the tribe would have known that but it's such a dumb ass move because one he doesn't know the
knows about which is he's lucky about that and then here you go like trying to get yourself
injured to get voted out only to find out that the doctor has to give you the the green light
to be pulled from the game so like every every thing he's trying to do to get voted out is just
failing he's a failure at being the worst on survival that's what he is he's failed twice
on getting himself voted out that's never happened before yeah it's it was a wild sequence of
events that just kept going and uh nobody believed him for a second that he was hurt like he limped
and eric's like are you okay dude he's like i don't know i did something to my foot i stepped
on something in the ocean and nobody's buying i like that meanwhile meanwhile we have kristen
who like actually broke her ankle or whatever yes and like it's like fully intending to push
through it just like what is happening here yeah it drops off his thumb and he's still in the game
dude yep brady was like i'll do as many push-ups as you want me to to prove that i could stay in
the game like i have a cut him out i could do about 300 push-ups in a row right now without a
thumb if you let me stay um i also thought back to the intro videos and rob's specifically was
him sitting on the couch with his kids and him talking about how his kids told him
he couldn't last on survivor oh man yeah wow kids are gonna have a field day yeah those kids are
gonna have a field day for life
and did that not go through his head like in that moment was he like i have to prove my kids wrong
and or is he not is he riding with this tomorrow like when we talk to him on exit press is he
i don't know not after he saw that edit and he realized everyone knows he was faking including
jeff including the doctors if you come to press saying man i just plantar fasciitis is just really
crushing me right now you know like unless you come up with some alternate reason on why
i don't think he can pull this one off i hope he doesn't try to
not to mention yeah he had a freaking idol in his pocket so not only yeah he had such a huge
advantage to just like stay in the game and he's like i don't know i don't know i don't know
sit back and relax and play in another couple days but he still couldn't get over what he was
you know going through in that moment panic fear not at home it wasn't what he thought it was um
but jeff tells everyone all the time this show is real and obviously you know this guy gets out
there
realize how real it really was yeah and jeff took the opportunity to be a little uh passive
aggressive with him uh and then at the tribe after he announced rob's exit he also was like
it's six days we're only in this six days and everybody kind of laughing uh they did not did
not make it easy for rob i like that though i like that it's i like that the show forces you
if you want to quit they force you to have to say it yeah which is fine i don't have a problem with
if people quit like it's not for everybody you don't know the full scope of survivor until you
get out there there's no way to fully prepare yourself for what it is but just be like hey
this isn't for me i'm gonna check out like i realized a couple days in it's not for me i'm
not gonna i don't want to be
here 26 days the hurt foot dude how can you go off do you think he thinks he pulled it off
like do you think he thinks until he sees this episode
yeah exactly part of me thinks maybe he does like is he at ponderosa just like i can't believe jeff
fell for that but also maybe they did fall for it and then later they find out he's not injured and
they could have repiece the edit to make it seem more buffoonery because they probably got a lot
of things maybe they got people that were just like wow he must have really hurt his foot that's
crazy but all we got was i feel like jeff was kind of grilling him though he was kind of like why
didn't you bring this up then and you know like i don't know how this stuff works kind of went in
knowing yeah yeah jeff was prepared for it yeah he knew what was good and then where he pointed
where it hurt that's not even where that little cut was the doctor was like there's a teeny cut
on the bottom of your it's like i probably have 10 cuts on the bottom of both of my feet right now
did you did you see like later in this episode there was like a view of like pat's shoulder
which is like completely missing like all of his skin it was like all right if that one's not
infected uh i don't know about this little this little cut yeah that little cut's not getting
infected and even if it does get infected it's so little that it will still heal on its own it's not
going to get infected all the way to the bone marrow um but they've like pulled people for
infections before but it's like yeah like it's it's infected like it's got like all the
you know pus and stuff coming out of it we gotta yeah yeah uh on token chains uh joe had a staff
infection on his knee and they're like yeah we don't want to mess with that and he could bear
he couldn't bend his knee it was all swollen it was disgusting you see staff infections quite a
bit but they are easy to spot it's not a tiny cut on the bottom tiny clean cut on the bottom of your
foot um if you had to like pick a way to
get yourself voted out of the game without quitting without quitting like how would you
organize that i would just wreak havoc you just wreak havoc that's all you do you just go out and
be like i'm gonna make this as miserable for everybody for until they vote me out and even
announce it just be like until you vote me out i am purposely making this miserable for all of you
is that what happened on heroes versus villains in season 40 yes
you just have to have an idol in play you have to convince people to split votes and then you have to
go against that so that the majority falls on you it's easy dude easy right it's so easy like the
fact that rob couldn't do that here was absurd just amateur level play i wish the tribe said
no you can't go we're just keeping you here dude yeah suffer i mean is there any way that jeff could
make him quit more obviously like be like we're not letting you go because i mean he pretty much
was like we didn't tell him he had to go we think he can stay in the game he wants to go
but he never said it himself publicly i don't think from what we saw he didn't say i tried i
want to quit i need to leave this game jeff said so he's gonna his injury isn't bad enough for us
to pull in the game but he's gonna leave anyway and he's like yeah yeah
yeah okay he was already walking before jeff he was gone do you think that they
made him stay at ponderosa or did he get to go all the way home see that's a whole other thing
straight to the hospital like straight to the hospital they knock him out and put a bunch of
like stuff in all of his orifices and just let him stay there for a week every step of the way
this guy made a mistake like he doesn't even realize when he does get voted out he's still
doesn't get to go home nor can he call his friends and family like you're stuck for another 25 days
in ponderosa and you're still away from your friends and family not sleeping in your own bed
unless you force your way out of ponderosa which a lot of times then you forego
whatever payment was allotted to you he probably had probably injured the other foot at ponderosa
he probably had 12 grand coming his way until he unless he goes home um so yeah
i just wild wild that he wanted to quit and then nothing worked he was like somebody in our
comments said he was failing upward they were like if he can get rid of himself this time
he's just gonna fail his way all the way to the end which would have been funny
what do you think of the new intro music we've gotten some comments on it we haven't
ourselves commented on it yet the remix you like the remix for a little survivor remix
yeah love it i think they should bring it even further i think they should just bring in like
you know zach brown again and have him remix it okay other celebrity remix and for the start i
think every season that's how you can get the celebs yeah yeah get the celebs involved without
being annoying okay yeah yeah i don't i don't hate it i haven't heard it i haven't heard that
the music yet but i don't hate it right now um
exactly what about uh coach would do one on his trumpet that'd be really good can i ask a question
about rob before we fully move on so survivors doing this new thing where they're sending us
jeff probst's field notes and there was something in here i want to see ethan and tyson if you guys
agree with this jeff wrote that days four five and six are often very tough for players this is a
desire to give up you almost always find that second wind do you guys think so because i was
then thinking back to like survivor 45 where we had a couple quits and they kind of came early in
the game like this too um you know do you think that's true is it like kind of that first week
is like the toughest and then it gets easier or is that not what's what's the truth here i don't
know that it gets easier but i think there is a shock to it especially if you've never been through
something like that before like not easy
and just like not sleeping really and all those stresses and i think that i think that just
acclimating to it is something but i don't think that it's harder maybe that maybe there's some
detox some people go through some detox stuff too like if they drink a lot or if they smoke
cigarettes and things like that then there's more to it um but i don't think that's everybody i do
think though that early on that shock does
hit people and people do contemplate quitting and then the other thing on top of that riley is that
if you're gonna quit survivor quit early like don't go through a bunch of it and then quit
like you're getting close to the end the prize money's closer like if you do not have it in you
get out of there don't stick around because it i think it gets harder it gets harder if you go
further in and then you're like well now i kind of have a chance of maybe winning so i can't quit now
but there's some wild to quit at the end yeah so close i think a few more days i think naonka
i think uh ian rosenberg well ian rosenberger jumped off that freaking he was holding this
thing and kind of just like i'm not gonna sit for another 12 hours to try to make it to the
final two he kind of he didn't quit but he obviously took him off the post that was a
strategic decision i agree with you tyson first three four five days it's shock and
i remember survivor africa literally i remember on day three before tribal council i was like
at a moment i'm like what is going on here i'm not gonna make it you know we had no food no water
my like lips were swelling my tongue was like dehydrated and i'm just like there's there's
no way in hell i'm gonna make this thing but then obviously you know it worked out well in my favor
but i pushed through but i do agree shock completely and then once you get over that
you'll be fine yeah so you're saying that rob had he stayed in probably would have won this season
definitely would have won the season dang dude that's tough uh he doesn't know it i knew it i
know it yeah wow um let's go to toka lewis is back and he's fitting in seemingly okay right making
the rounds um and kilby uh thinks that the best way to bond with people is talk shit on each other
yeah yeah
when you can say negative things about people it means you're close and it's opening up
yourself and being authentic interesting
strategy i don't if you can get somebody to say something negative about somebody else i agree
but if you're the one that's just like hey get a load of this guy like that's gonna come back
to them but if you can get somebody else to say that to you i do agree that they're probably they
are showing some level of trust so yeah i thought that was interesting uh but yeah lewis impressed
me a little bit on this season on this episode lewis impressed me i just like the way no no no
we are not lewis people over here just kidding we are uh lewis said he's the better cooler version
of tyson which in a way is redundant i see that yeah okay i mean do we have another uh podcast
host next season i don't know we'll see we'll find out you think he's coming for my job
i mean to see you guys side by side would be very interesting yeah you wouldn't be able to
distinguish except for one is better and cooler yeah so okay so tell us about lewis
you're impressed by lewis no i mean i i was impressed by lewis i felt he was reading the
game he understand what he was walking into he kind i think he he knows how people respond to
him like i always say this i've said this multiple times and it happened with it's happening with um
rob and then with uh who is this other kid that's kind of rubbing people the wrong way um
kilby kilby no eric carter eric eric eric yes right so like eric you know he knows the game right he
knows the game he knows you got to be authentic because that brings people in he knows when things
are happening but he just doesn't know how other people respond to him and how he may be rubbing
people the wrong way and that's a huge part about the game survivor you need to know who you are
you know what you bring to the table you need to know how other people respond to you in order to
navigate the game i think that's one of the biggest pieces that people miss when they go out there on
survivor but i think uh like i said i think lewis is doing a good good job of understanding where he
is how the other players are interacting with each other who are the core people mixing with each
other and finding his spot finding his place to make an impact yeah he did have all the lines
clocked i think he's the best thing that happened to carter this episode too because uh it was really
lewis pulling him in and being like do you realize we're in the middle we control the vote the best
and the worst thing that happened to carter was lewis probably this episode
i don't know i don't know what is the worst thing that happened to carter this episode
he opened up his bag oops yeah that's right that's right yes oh that was so good figuratively
we're going there right now this shreemail shows up and i thought it was interesting
here with toka so carter gets drawn ethan and then alexis is like oh that's the one guy we didn't want
to go then why doesn't everybody just be like nope not you carter someone else i have that in my notes
i'm like if you know you don't want a person to go then you need to do something to make sure that
person doesn't go just exclude them that's survivor what i want yeah did they tell us
what what like did it have to be a unanimous choice for the whole tribe or whatever sometimes
that's just one person has to get on the boat well i wonder if it was like they couldn't they
couldn't agree and so then they were like okay since everyone wants to go you know we'll draw
from the bag basically and at that point i mean you have to abide by that right like you can't
just be like sorry actually even though we pulled to it we don't agree carter you can't go there's
no rules this season right i know there's no rules i know that you could do it but like
the target it would paint on you it'd be like hey this is kind of messed up yeah and i also thought
it was interesting that devin you know talking about kilby and how kibble is being like negative
and trying to spread rumors and as devin said he said kilby is sowing seeds of chaos but devin is
the one it's like it's like self-projection right like devin's the one while he's being radically
honest his honesty is sowing seeds of chaos even though they're they're right and it's honest
it's still doing more damage than what kilby was doing trying to spread negative feedback
so it's funny that devin is like blaming someone for exactly what he's doing himself
yeah there were some interesting moments between that devin's devin and kilby dynamic in that
devin was like kilby's spreading negativity but it's not threatening to my game and i don't think
that he's like purposely out to get anybody he's just like that's just what he's doing and it's
creating some chaos which i was like oh that's a pretty good read like a lot of people would just
be like get him out he's trying coming for us um but it was funny that i kind of thought devin swung
too hard at targeting kilby on the other tribe so he was over at savu and he pulled every single
person aside individually and told them to watch out for kilby because he will be negative um
is that going to come back to bite him absolutely i think so like it was it was too much it was too
highlighted
yeah he was on a campaign to get spread yeah seeds of chaos about kilby very clear so i'd
imagine they're all talking when he when he left saying like is he talking to you about kilby like
they're all talking about that it's the only name he brought up yeah and he's also starting to
because devin like later this episode you know kilby kind of calls him out on it and he's like
i'm hearing from other people that you're saying i'm a liar and devin's all like oh i didn't say
that i said that maybe you're not a liar and he's like oh i didn't say that i said that maybe you're
sort of sowing some seeds that maybe lead to some chaos or whatever and it was like
well wait what happened to the radical honesty you totally called him a liar like i don't know
exactly i didn't write down what the exact language was they used everybody but it's like
come on dude like you're definitely calling him a liar to people and so this is where you get kind
of like twisted up and like you know if you're like i'm playing the honest game but actually
you are kind of going out there and lying and painting targets on people's backs it's like
eventually some other people will pick up on this too and be like i actually can't trust devin the
honest guy and he's like i don't know what to do with him i don't know what to do with him i don't
you know he's like oh no we we made you sit out of the challenge because we think we need you next
challenge right yeah great yeah i i did also i mean there was a lot of moments with devin and
kilby this episode so we'll just stay on him they also were sitting there and then devin was like
who was telling you that and kilby was like yeah grills him uh
at that point ethan what is the move there if you're kilby because people do cross-examine
people all the time do you just say i'm not giving that up now you have an enemy do you give it up
knowing he's probably going to run back to those people and now it's a bigger problem for you like
what is it happens and it's gonna if you play survivor this exact conversation is going to
happen who told you that and you have to have an answer yeah it's a he put himself in a really bad
situation uh within that conversation because the people he listed were the people that were
not on his alliance you know he listed everyone on devin's alliance and he's like yeah because he
didn't want to call out anyone that he's working with which to me if devin was smart he's like okay
i know this kid's working with these three people because he wouldn't mention them on
someone who mentioned my name so he's clearly uh through his lines in the sand i would have
picked up on that i think i don't have an answer for that to be honest tyson i don't know what he
would do in that situation i would probably just pick the person that i was least connected to and
that would probably be the person i would go with uh i don't know what i would do yeah pretend to get
injured and not have to answer him i think that's smart i think you have to also measure whether or
not it's worth confronting someone over uh something somebody said to you that they had
said about you like is this the moment if it is have a scapegoat ready to go and uh there's lots
of directions you can go like you're you're right you're right you're right you're right you're
right like choose someone you're not really connected with it doesn't really matter and then
you that's the new truth for you that's the new truth that person that you're not that connected
with told you that thing so then when it becomes a huge argument you're still yes you did tell me
that remember when we were down on the beach you were saying that like whatever uh so but
don't just don't like if you're if you're kilby i just wouldn't initiate this conversation
in the first place right if you've had multiple people tell you hey devin told me that you're a
liar and basically he wants to get out to get you then you already know that that's probably true
and you don't need to go and then be like hey man people are telling me that that you told them that
i'm a liar because you're just going to make this like a bigger mess for yourself so you already
know devin's against you so work with that actually keep the facade that maybe you're not against him
like be a little more subtle in the way you try and suss out what he's trying to do or what he's
like lying to you about but i don't know i don't think there's a point in like
actually going and being like this is what i heard and then he's like who told you and
it just becomes this big mess yeah yeah i mean i think the same result would have happened in
this episode if kilby did not choose to confront devin about this because look what happened but
the fact that he did obviously let uh devin and that whole crew knew know that uh you know kilby
knows what's going on a little bit so you're right i think that would have been the right
move is just to not even confront him in the first place go to the
people that you know devin was talking shit to about me and then you rally them which is
kind of what kilby did and they you know you know what happened yeah play it like you're naive
basically right yeah i think that's what you got to do you've got
you just keep that information.
Information is power.
Information is currency.
You keep that information.
If you're trying to get Devin on your side or something,
then yeah, then confront him and talk to him and name names.
But if you don't have an end goal,
then there's no reason to bring that to Devin.
So that's my thoughts.
It almost feels as well like it was just like,
if you do have the conversation with Devin,
you still sit down with him and you talk to him about it.
Just do not say any names.
Because the minute that he's asking you,
who did it?
Who did that?
Who did that?
You already know where his mindset is.
He's putting you in a hole.
So that's when you go,
come on, Devin.
Come on.
You know the game.
So I think it was just like,
don't tell him anything.
Just be like,
I just know what's going on between both of us right now.
So what's happening, bro?
But yeah.
It was such an awkward moment.
Yeah.
That it would be bold.
I mean, Survivor is a game of awkward moments.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is a game of awkward moments.
It always is.
Like that,
and measuring them
and figuring out how to deal with them.
That's, I don't like,
I don't,
I like that play, Ashley,
being like,
you know the game, dude.
Come on, I'm not going to give you names right now.
Maybe if we're on better terms
and we come together at some point,
then yeah,
I'll give you all the names you want
because we're working,
we're working together.
But right now,
I don't feel like we are.
Yeah.
It does seem like this season,
they give a lot of names up quickly.
Immediately.
Like it's,
some people are the first people like,
I don't like her.
Do you like her?
Like,
wow.
Don't name anybody, guys.
Yeah.
It's,
it's.
But for a bunch of super fans,
I feel like
a lot of them aren't under,
kind of understanding
the game,
you know,
in a weird way.
Like,
or this is just this new open era
where like,
just they're being open too
with everything,
their thoughts and feelings
and strategy
and names
in addition to what's happening
with the idols and clues
and stuff.
But like,
it's,
it's a new,
it's a new way to play.
I think people are,
yeah,
this telling people everything.
I guess,
I guess that's been trending
over the past,
you know,
bunch of seasons
till just letting everyone know
everything all the time.
But this is at a new level,
I think for me,
it's just been three episodes.
Yeah.
It's really,
really fun
and it's messy.
And I think,
I think part of it is generational
a little bit,
right?
Like,
spilling the information
and,
and,
I don't know.
Although,
yeah,
lots of information's always
traveled on Survivor.
I get back in the day,
maybe there wasn't as much information
that was as pivotal
to be,
you know,
that you needed to share
or keep secret.
Now,
every day,
there's two or three things happening
that,
are hugely impactful in the game.
And so,
for everyone to be able to keep
all that information
to themselves the whole time
is virtually impossible
in this era of Survivor.
So,
maybe this is the way
the game needs to be played
is just with a little bit more honesty
and a little bit more openness.
Yeah,
it is also like,
if you get caught out
not sharing information
when you were pressed for it
and someone else shares it,
that looks extra,
super bad for you too.
So,
there is that like,
did somebody,
who already hit so-and-so
with the information,
should I have,
should I have hit them
with information?
Like,
there's that too.
So,
there is a lot of those things
that come into play.
I also,
yeah,
I love Carter at Toka.
So,
Carter is on his own.
He's on the outs.
He's the easy vote
at Savu.
Rob left him an idol
that nobody knows
that was left to him.
So,
that part's cool.
But,
he gets selected
and he rolls in.
Nothing goes as planned
for this man.
He's like,
I'll talk to everybody.
We'll figure it out.
I'll decide if I want to be there.
They have the tarps.
Their camp is so much nicer.
They're out of the rain.
He's loving it.
He wants to defect.
And,
yeah.
I love
Lewis going through the bag.
Yeah.
That was,
I mean,
With the envelope right on top.
Right.
Another
dumbass move
I'd like to think that,
you know,
you carry your bags
everywhere you go,
especially if you have
a clue on top
and an idol's probably
someplace else hidden in there.
They need to go deep enough
in the bag.
I wonder if they even,
if they dug deeper,
they probably would have
found the idol as well.
Yeah, probably.
Right?
But, yeah,
this,
you know,
Carter,
if,
having said that,
he was in the perfect
scenario to
screw up
multiple times,
right?
Because I think it was
a good situation.
If he had to defect,
it was a good situation
for him to defect
because he was at the bottom
of the other tribe.
Yep.
So,
it was a good accident
for him,
I would say.
Yeah.
They,
they see this envelope.
The entire tribe,
sprints down
to the oars.
And they don't even question,
they just smash the fucking shit
out of the oars.
They're just like,
we don't need these.
Smash.
Bring me right back to the axe.
Right back to the axe, dude.
One fell swoop,
just smat,
obliterates it.
Doesn't find it.
They can't,
they think he must have
already gotten it.
So, they go back to camp
and then.
Did somebody say like,
oh, now we have no oars.
They did.
Like,
they did.
They did.
They smashed them
and then they're like,
oh, whoops.
I guess we have no oars.
Yeah.
Somebody did say that
at one point.
But then.
When has it ever been inside
of the actual stuff?
It's usually like
wrapped on something.
Like.
Yeah.
Is it inside of the wood
that you have to break physically?
Like, gosh, guys.
That's what it kind of was though,
right?
It was in the pipe.
It was like a pipe up at the top,
but it was at the wrapping.
Like if.
Yeah, it was in the wrap.
Yeah.
If they would have unwrapped it,
it might have just pulled apart.
But it was so funny
that they just smashed it.
Their goal was to have them
destroy the oars.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like who,
who is,
they just,
they ruined their opportunity
to use the boat
for the rest of the season.
I mean,
they could sleep in it.
Until merge.
I don't know.
And they get the oars
from the other boat.
Until merge.
But.
It would have taken
20 seconds to say,
okay, well, wait,
let's,
let's wait a second.
Let's look at this.
Oh, there's wrappings up here.
There was the only thing
on the oar
was the wrapping up top.
Yeah.
And the handle.
Yeah.
You really,
you really think
it's going to be
in the flat piece of the oar?
Yeah.
Right.
It was so good.
It would have been so funny.
And Carter,
I'm surprised.
I'm happy
they were smart enough
to actually remove
the crushed up pieces of oar
because Carter
would have come back
and say,
oh shit,
they,
they got in my bag.
But they pulled it off
because Carter
still doesn't know
that they went into his bag
and found the idol
because they did a good job
hiding it.
But I would have at least
done a better job
destroying the orbs.
Like don't just.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So the other thing too
was.
It would have been so funny
if the,
if the other tribe
had done this
with the water ladle
and like just,
just obliterated it.
Now for the rest of the season,
they got like dunk
all the way in
with their like bottles.
I kind of thought.
Giant straw.
Yeah.
I thought when they couldn't
find it on the ladle
when Devin and,
and Jelly,
was it Devin and,
no,
Devin and Sharonda?
Who was looking?
Sharonda.
Devin and Sharonda
were looking at it.
I thought that
they were going to have to
be forced to smash it.
I was like,
oh,
this is hilarious.
The tribe is forcing
the stranger
to come in
and have to destroy
a piece of their camp
and they'll think
it's sabotage.
Yeah.
That's what I thought.
I was like,
oh,
this is really good.
They're going to smash this
with a rock
and they didn't end up
needing to,
but I was like,
that's pretty clever.
Plus the fact that it's
two different objects
like they said
was going to happen
was it wouldn't be the same
on both tribes.
We were told that
preseason.
So this is where
like your story
cannot always be
accurate.
Although you could be like,
oh yeah,
we got an advantage.
They were just hidden
in different spots,
but the oars
back to the oars.
Brady decides to go back
because there's another oar
and he's like,
it could be at the other oar
and he sees
Maggie gently
wrapping on an oar
with an ax
and he's like,
let me do it.
And immediately
just crushes that
the oar to smithereens again.
Yeah.
Do we like with Maggie
getting the
getting the advantage
from Brady?
Was that a good play,
a bad play,
a medium play?
Because Brady finds it,
pulls it,
and Maggie's like,
can I have it?
And Brady didn't want
to give it to her.
He pretended like he didn't
hear her for a second,
but then
he caved
and gave it to her.
Yeah, I think if
Maggie,
I think that was almost
like a,
a just throw me a bone here.
She wasn't confident
in asking for the,
I was like,
can I have it maybe?
You know,
so it seemed like
it was like a little bit of a,
come on,
like,
I need your help here
type situation.
So I think it was
a good move on Maggie.
I think it was a good move
on Brady
because now,
you know,
Maggie kind of owes
in something a little bit
and they are now
a little bit more tighter
and working together
in theory
because they're sharing this idol.
Did they tell the rest
of the tribe?
I have no idea.
idea that that maggie has the idol i'm sure they did or that extra vote did they tell the rest of
the tribe that it didn't look it i mean brady maybe told somebody but it didn't we didn't see
anything right so okay what about you riley good move or bad move because i kind of i think i'm
torn on it i feel like for brady it's a good move for sure i'm not sure if it's a good move for
maggie to like ask for it because that that feels like a little aggressive and and now you have like
an advantage that somebody else knows about and it's an extra vote that's not often very powerful
even but like paints maybe a bigger target than it's worth on you so like those are kind of like
that's where i'm not so sure for but for brady i'm like if brady had just been like it's mine now
like haha that would have been such an aggressive move you're just making an enemy there so i think
he had to give it up um he's playing a pretty aggressive game in general so that would have
just kind of put a little bit more over the top yeah for maggie i i think you're right riley it
paints a target on her like brady who's not in her core alliance and she's not in his can now at
any time go to his core alliance and be like hey fyi maggie has that advantage then from the oars
and then she's a target like immediately anytime that he needs to get the heat off of him or they
need a reason to target somebody that's not in his group it's there now um and from brady's standpoint
i think
okay if he keeps it he has to run back and tell everybody he has it before maggie does
so that it looks like he's not hiding secrets so that's the only thing if he cares enough to
keep it for his alliance he has to just go tell everybody he's got it so yeah you know what's
crazy i disagree i think that this was a great move for maggie because she never really agreed
to anything that brady said he was like you're gonna vote with me and everything and she's like
yeah okay she never agreed to it in her confessional she was already talking about
how she was really upset that he was there so she's not down to sharing it i don't think she's
gonna share it i think she's gonna he's maybe gonna come up to her later and talk about how
we're gonna vote and how you're gonna use it and i think she's gonna use it completely against him
so i think he might get blindsided by her
and she did not vote with brady this episode she voted pat she's yeah she's not with him
whatsoever she just wants it she's can i have it and he's like yeah if you vote for me she said
okay so he might might have screwed himself in that yeah yeah might have
i think and the other thing i'd like to mention is that devin now knows that carter may have
an advantage or an idol right because they probably shared similar clues on the on the
mutiny oh it was is mutiny new like have they ever had have they ever given a player the opportunity
to stay on the other tribe they have okay yeah they did in cook islands they did it um and i
don't think it's even happened ever since then but it was penner and candace mutiny over to a two
different tribe yeah wow impressive friday and i do like it i like the mutiny i like the option
It's because it's most likely not going to happen.
But the fact that it happened worked out great for TV.
It worked out.
On accident.
Yeah.
By accident?
No, he wanted to stay.
He wanted to, but he was like, oh, no, my boat.
Yeah.
I think he would.
I think he pretended like he got left.
I don't think he did.
Do you think?
I don't know.
I think he forgot.
He didn't make it.
None of you think that it was by design that he was like, oopsie doopsie, the boat left without me.
Yeah, he said, that's my boat.
Well, the bell is ringing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And he goes down there.
And then what does he say?
Everyone's like, well, what took you so long to get to the boat?
And what is he going to say?
Like, well, I was just looking at your oars, trying to find.
He's got to be like it was intentional.
He brought his backpack with him, which is not a normal thing for him.
I think he was ready to go.
I think he was heading back.
He brought everything with him.
We should ask, I guess.
He was going to leave.
Then that boat left.
And he went, oh, no.
He thought he was going to get the idol and leave.
And then he or the clue and then leave.
But he was caught looking for the clue and the boat left without him.
No, I think he was going to stay.
I think he was going to stay.
But I think.
Why do you think he was going to stay?
Because he was so nonchalant about getting on the boat.
And he just came back, was like.
Oopsie doopsies.
I guess I'm here now.
The boat left without me.
It wasn't like he never told them that the note said he could defect, even though they all know it.
I also love when Brady was like.
So are you going to get something here, like an advantage or something?
He's like, no, no, sir.
Rebob.
I am not.
Absolutely not.
No matter what.
I am not.
He's like, oh, and is there anything else to it?
He's like, no.
He's like, there isn't.
Sure.
Nothing else.
He's like, well, actually, there could be.
But there's.
There's more steps.
Yeah.
It might just be him.
Really?
Because he like, even when he was looking for the oars and he didn't see the oars, he didn't go, oh, man.
What?
What?
He just kind of went, oh, and then he saw the boat go and he went, oh, like, he just seems pretty relaxed about everything.
So I don't.
I do not.
Survivor's just happening to Carter, basically.
Yeah.
I do not think he was not going back to Carter.
He was going back to Savu.
He saw the tarp there.
They were all comfortable in their hole.
There's 11 people there, like, to blend in with and, like, hide.
Like, he's there.
I don't think he's going back to Savu.
But I think he didn't want to be like, there's a note here.
Because if he says there's a note here and stuff, then he has to be like, I was on the very bottom.
They're going to vote me out next.
So I'm here.
Like, then now he has to give a reason and his reasoning for actually defecting.
If he's like, oh, shucks, the boat left without me.
Yeah.
He didn't say that, though.
When he came back to the tribe, he literally just was like, the guy decided I'm saying, like, which is also a weird thing to say.
He blamed it on the guy on the boat or whatever.
The boat guy.
Yeah, he blamed it on the boat guy.
Well, let's go back to, like, him lying to Brady.
Do you think that's going to be an issue?
You know, clearly.
Brady liked it.
Brady was like, he can stick to his word.
Why should he trust me?
I didn't.
I don't think that would have been the response to that.
Me neither.
I'd have been like, he's next gun.
I hope he stays so we can vote him out.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
I can't wait till he figures out that when he realizes that they found the clue without him.
I wanted that moment to be on camera.
Or maybe they even talked about it and they didn't put it in there.
Maybe Carter was like, yeah, there's an idol here.
I went to look for it.
I couldn't find it or something like that.
And they actually did have that conversation and just give it to us.
Yeah.
Hmm.
Yeah.
I will see it.
I think it will see it.
We have to like, but that's so survivors just happening to Carter Riley.
That's Riley with the Fiji introduction last week.
And now this saying this week.
I didn't go back to what?
But why?
And look for the oars.
Like what happened?
The chat.
After this happens, Carter goes back and says he's staying.
We then cut to the immunity challenge happening on the next day.
It's now day seven.
This was all on day six.
Shouldn't he have been looking for oars all night?
Like what happened there?
Is he just like, well, I guess they must just not have any oars.
Yeah.
And he just goes to sleep.
I would be looking for those oars all night.
Yeah.
Somebody had to have told him or he saw them smashed or something.
Right.
Yeah.
He had to have seen them.
He had to have seen something that was like, yeah, I don't know.
Yeah.
It'll come out later.
I think that he was that they have a clue.
That's my thought.
I did like Maggie's choice of outfit where she had these overalls where she's very proud of her pockets.
Yeah.
I think that was smart.
And I, I like the idea that she chose that as an outfit.
So she did have pockets because, you know, survivor CBS are very influential on what they want you to wear.
So to be able to kind of get an outfit, that's kind of smart.
She had a lot of pockets and hiding spots for idols and clues.
I think it was a really good move on her part.
Probably her best move up until now is choosing those pants.
Yeah.
What about taking the advantage?
What pant doesn't have it.
Yeah.
Pantless Pat.
Sorry, Pantless Pat.
Anything else from Tremel before we go to this challenge?
Nope.
Okay.
Can anyone here skin a buck and run a trot line?
I can't skin a buck or run a trot line.
Is that what it is?
Or a trout line?
A trout line.
Trout line.
Yeah.
Run a trout line or.
Yeah.
No, it's a trot line.
It's a trot line.
I looked it up.
Yeah.
It's for fishing.
Okay.
I can't do either of those.
I mean.
Nope.
Maybe.
I could try.
That basically seals it with Brady's like, you know, Carter is just lying to him directly.
And he's like, but this guy can skin a buck and run a trot line.
So we're good.
Yeah.
We're in an alliance.

We have the challenge.
It's 11 versus 7.
I don't know if we've ever had this before, right?
Or is it 11 versus 6?
11 versus 7.
11 versus 7.
I can't imagine that there's ever been trap divisions of 11 versus 7.
And I love Kristen's little joke about like,
hey, we just did our own blood moon.
Lost three people in like two days.
Yeah, that was good.
Although Kristen is definitely, she's a super fan.
Been applying for 26 years.
I think, listen, I don't know what she's talking about at camp,
but like, I think she needs the. Bring it down to how much of a super fan she is.
When she said, oh, the double blood moon,
like, I didn't even remember that was a thing.
I guess it was only last season or the season before.
But like, knowing like what's happening,
when and the clues and everything,
like, I would keep that to myself
and how knowledgeable of the game I really am.
Yeah.
But everybody's a super fan.
It doesn't seem like it's really hurt her so far.
But yeah, you do have to kind of mask that.
Well, it's not a super fan.
He says he is.
Prove it.
He says it.
He says he's seen every season.
Did he say that?
That's crazy.
Not every episode.
I don't know if he's seen every season,
but he did say he's been watching since he was younger
and thought he could do it when he was young and athletic
and then decided to apply later in life.
Something along those lines.
So this challenge. He stretches the truth a lot.
Yeah, you're right.
Dude, he is a piece of work.
He's only ever watched after the merge.
He doesn't know what it's like.
He's only ever watched what it's like to play the first six games.
Yeah.
He's like, wait, what?
At the challenge, it's a reward for chickens.
And I immediately noticed when Devin said who was doing the puzzle
and who was sitting out.
That is a cardinal sin to be on a tribe
and to dictate who does what at the challenge.
You let those people choose for themselves
what skills they have that will help you all win the challenge.
The second I saw Devin be like,
they're going to do the puzzle.
You guys are going to sit out.
I knew they were losing.
You don't win challenges that way.
And no one even brought it up after the challenge
that he was directing the strategy.
Only tell Kilby.
Only tell Kilby was like,
you made me sit out when I could have won the puzzle for us.
I love that he told everybody that too.
That was really. Such a good move.
Because like, yeah, what are you doing, Devin?
Chill a little bit, Devin.
I like Devin.
He's been the narrator the first three episodes here,
but he seems like he's coming to the forefront
as somebody that is stepping into that leadership role.
And it might come back to bite him if it hasn't already.
So the challenge was very physical.
Lots of blocking out and boxing out.
I had to rewind.
I like that.
I had to rewind a bunch of times.
None of those were real punches.
Those punch sounds were just sound effects afterwards.
Yeah, there's a fake scream.
I kept rewinding and looking for the person who got punched at that moment.
Where it was like, kapow.
They were boxing out for sure.
I'll have to rewatch this.
They were tussling a little bit.
But there was no full-on elbow to the face.
It almost looked like there was an elbow to the face.
And there was a sound like there was an elbow to the face.
That didn't.
It didn't.
Yeah.
But when's the last time we've actually seen contestants
kind of be able to wrestle or touch each other?
It's been very separate.
There's not much combat anymore.
Back in the day, we were really wrestling.
That's true.
In the new era, I don't recall any wrestling or physical stuff like that
where you're battling physically with someone.
And that really wasn't on purpose.
The challenge wasn't to go in there and box people out.
It just happened.
It just happened naturally versus kind of putting people head-to-head to fight.
But I liked seeing the elbows.
I liked seeing the little aggressiveness.
That's nice.
That's what we need.
Yeah.
Eric boxing Carter out only to be the last one through the sawdust.
Yeah.
That was funny.
Yes.
And then Savu pulls out behind a comeback victory.
Who said, sorry, Carter, could have been you on the exit?
I rewound a couple times.
I rewound a couple times to see who said that.
Was it Alexis?
Oh, I didn't even see that.
Sorry, Carter, could have been you.
Yeah.
I didn't make the right choice.
As they were exiting, walking past Toka.
Oh, wow.
Somebody said that to Carter.
I missed this.
Yeah.
Oh, that is great.
I love that.
Yeah.
See, I kind of love this.
I think it's something you get with two tribes.
You don't get as much when there's three.
You get these.
Obviously, the mutiny is a little different,
but it still felt like these tribes were like rivals going at it.
You know?
It did.
Very old school.
And a reward immunity.
Does this always happen?
Well, one, to give them food this early is shocking.
I mean, chickens and eggs.
I didn't think that would come this early for a reward.
Yeah.
They're getting more stuff early for sure.
Tarps and chickens within the first three episodes.
Not a survivor.
What's going on here?
That's survival.
That's survival a little bit.
Do we think something really crazy is going to happen?
Like, they're bringing in the chickens, they're bringing in the tarps, and then in a couple
episodes, they're taking every single thing away.
You're going to have to live on a different campsite or something.
Start over.
Is this preparing?
They're putting everybody on boats for something.
Is it going to be a tribe swap?
Probably.
Some type of tribe.
The giantest merge of all time.
I think it's three tribes.
Because they had red buffs on, so there's definitely at least some sort of thing.
A third tribe happening.
Okay.
Or a merge or whatever.
I think it's three tribes, though.
Yeah.
It'll probably be three tribes.
Unless it is merge, which would be crazy.
I've always wanted a giant merge with like 20 people.
That'd be incredible.
Cool puzzle.
I like the hanging puzzle.
The hanging anchor puzzle I thought was pretty cool.
I don't remember that, but from what?
There was a hanging leaf puzzle one year.
Hanging bat.
I don't know if I've seen it much.
Hanging bat.
Yep.
That's true.
But I like the hanging puzzle.
I thought it threw people for a loop early on.
They were looking for big pieces up top when it was really small pieces and then it got bigger.
I thought that was a clever little puzzle from the survivor gods.
Yeah.
I liked it, too.
John Kerhofer doing his job.
Doing his job.
And then why the straight back to somber face after John Kerhofer doing his job?
We've got the toka scramble.
And we have Lewis here and Carter deciding which way to go.
It seems like everybody's kind of set on Kilby.
Is this a, like, what did Kilby do to deserve this, Riley?
Talk negative?
It sounds like he's sowing seeds of chaos and lying, at least according to Devin, who never actually said any of that.
Yeah, we have another farmer on this season.
I caught that, too.
Yeah.
Kilby the farmer.
Kilby the farmer, the sower of seeds of chaos.
Chaos farmer.
Yeah.
And so we basically just get, like, this conversation with Lewis and Carter about which side to go with.
Yep.
Can we talk about that?
Can we talk about both sides?
Ethan, did Lewis and Carter make the right decision for themselves to go with the smaller faction on the other side?
I think they made the right choice.
You know, it looked like that five were definitely the more confident, stronger personalities, the more maybe popular people in the group or traditionally popular people from a group instantly gravitated towards each other.
And that just, I definitely took note of that last episode, understanding that, like, they are not going to be able to be able to stay that strong for that long because the middle players or the bottom are definitely going to group together and try to go after them.
So.
So I think it was the right move at that time.
disagreement yeah no um no i agree my at least like the way i would want to play is like i i
just wouldn't want to play in a group that's that tight led by somebody in devon who is
dictating that much just like a suffocating way to play survivor and i really like someone made
the description of the plus one the plus one hey whoever's one in the group can be eliminated that
happened to me in 40 i was the plus one with with rob and parvati and kind of add them a little bit
in there and so you know jeremy and um jerry just took me out uh basically michelle jerry michelle
took me out because i was the plus one it was just an easier move than going after the big fish
you go after the plus one so that's what i don't understand why is it the easier move why
why couldn't they just have sent devon home today like why everybody's scared to make that big
move
ive is it too devastating like i don't understand like what they think the blowback's gonna be or
the battle is going to be will they not be able to rally the numbers to get the main target so
they go after a secondary target like what is i would it ruffle more feathers to do that i don't
get it i mean i hear you i think potentially their thought process was if we go after devon
it looks like we're playing really
really hard we're swinging big all the time it sets the stage which in theory is good so maybe
they're like let's take a lesser target that's not like look like we're really playing that hard
and going after the big guys yet that's kind of the only rationale i would think it's she
pat's disposable it's not going to ruffle any feathers devon's the popular guy he's the leader
of the back we don't know what happened if we we go after the the top of the food chain first
so let's test the waters a little bit see how it breaks up the tribe and what happens in the
fallout yeah my thinking is that i agree with that lewis and carter are looking at that five
sum and determining who they can work with after the blind side like who do they have the closer
connections with they still probably are connected better with with to devon and to um brady so
that's probably part of it too is when you get that that swing vote they're determined
with who they can then work with on the next vote because if you're the swing vote like that you are
going to have to bounce back and forth a little bit so yeah or plan to bounce back and forth a
little bit there's a discussion with between maggie and kilby too or maggie says she wants
to work with devon just not at this vote and kilby is like oh yeah i have no interest in going after
him which is weird since seconds later he's like the five or devon's cult basically so maybe he
was just saying that to um you know to placate maggie or in whatever way i don't know i don't
know whatever but it's like the connections might be a lot more complicated especially on these
bigger tribes than it just being like well these five who do we go after it's like well some people
who are left over are not willing to go after everybody in that five you gotta find one name
that everyone agrees on yeah yeah and but yeah i mean you know i think in theory the best person
to get out is devon because then you that five just scatters right like now you can bust it wide
open you go after like going after the plus one actually doesn't make a lot of sense to me in this
it's like okay fingers everybody but now the five comes at four they're still they're still going to
be tight yeah you you know you're losing mike like mike could be a number for you he's not as
connected right but that's that's the real balance of survivor is getting people to like you or trust
you or want to work with you enough that you don't become the target even if they're working against
your your allies and then all of a sudden you're like oh my god i'm not going to be able to do this
also yeah and then also being able if you're on the opposite side of that
you have to look at those connections and determine who will not be so upset that they
will be willing to work with you moving forward so i think that all of that comes into play and
again like okay ashley and i are together and we want to get out i want to get out ethan but
ashley has a better connection with ethan and she's like i'm unwilling to do
ethan now we have to compromise there too it's just like it's a full game of compromise but
also measuring what your future moves can be based off of that outcome so well said it's tricky
i also like how lewis said to carter oh no carter said to lewis uh you're gonna have to
have balls as big as church bells yes lewis goes do you have big balls
oh that's gonna be my next t-shirt do you have big balls yeah yeah that was actually very good
from lewis yeah so good so good lewis and uh yeah i liked lewis this episode i think he
he had really good read he was able to clearly be like those five are as thick as thieves they're
together there's no separating them here's what we got to do um and you're making it obvious
that five is making it way too obvious in my yes which it's hard pre-merge you definitely
don't want to do that you don't want to make it so obvious but i there's a you don't know that
until after when you like get to the merge and then the people that weren't with you are all
against you if they go to the other side i mean you kind of figure it but at some point you're
also like it's so exhausting to disguise everything all the time for every reason that
we're in the majority let's just hang out for a minute and have fun and like they can deal with
uh being left out if they want to but it's hard to mask it all the time i did want to ask you
ethan what side would you would you have fit in with the cool crew or would you have been on the
outside well to be honest i probably would have wanted to fit in with the cool crew but i think
i would have leaned on the the other side i would have i would have jumped ship and gone to the i
guess lesser group so i would have gone on the side of carter and lewis for sure i just feel like
the popular kids everyone's always going to want to go after the popular kids
and so i feel but if you go to the other side is that on the truck that makes you less popular if
you go to the other side you're still the same popular you just have chosen a different route
i would say that the less um aggressive group in the sense that
the less they don't seem as tied together as that five this group they're working together
now but i feel like they're all open to shift versus the other ones were stuck in that five
so i would have seen that probably seen my place in that tribe if i was up to you know quote unquote
up top let's say with the with the devon and the brady i don't know they're the ones leading it
i probably if i didn't see myself up there i would have you know gone to the group where i had more
power okay if they would have taken i have no idea you know yeah it is also like a game of
like you just sometimes fit in somewhere and then you're there like you kind of like are
have painted yourself in not on purpose to a group like if you're just like extra cool and
just like all of a sudden with the cool kids and you were just like i was just being myself
and everybody gravitated towards me and now this is like what i'm stuck with uh
so you don't always even get to choose which for some reason i was just like contemplating this
episode i was like the fivesome is the fivesome but not all of them like some of them were just
being cool and then they got caught into like a locked in alliance that they feel good about
because it's the majority but after this are some of the five going to go to the other side and be
like guys i didn't want to be one of the cool guys i wanted to be with you but i naturally am just
cool and so that happened yeah i mean maybe
the yankees guy um was maybe he just got looped into there because it was
best option in that moment maybe he's a little bit more free than we think
yeah yeah because he was on the in from what we see on the bottom of the five
the plus one
so
was pat the right move then do you think for
these guys because they waffled between mike and pat
and they said pat's playing the game a lot harder i was upset to see pat go but only
for the reasons they voted her out i think she was willing to play hard it was it was the best
move for them i think because pat uh many times was involved with the changing of votes or the
changing of ideas of people without getting her hands too dirty so i feel like without i don't
even know if i'm going to be able to do that i don't know if i'm going to be able to do that
i don't know if i'm going to be able to do that i don't know if i'm going to be able to do that
they knew how good of a game that she was starting to play um which is kind of a bummer
reason to to vote her out but for their game it was probably the best bet right do you think if pat
had her pants she would have been voted out oh it's the pants i don't know don't know it's a
pants fault i thought that this was you know this was like an impressive move from tenon as far as
being able to sway everybody and get her away she was the one really gunning after pat we didn't
see really anybody else paint the target on pat until tenon did but i also am thinking that
maybe this wasn't actually the best move for her
because now it solidifies her.
Like, people will come back and be like,
why was it Pat?
You know, who made that happen?
And it'll be like, well, Tanan.
She was the one that wanted Pat.
And so now you're making yourself
into this power figure that decides votes
and kind of putting a target on your back too.
So I don't know.
It felt like it was too early to be like,
I'm really going to flex my muscle here
and get out the person I want out
for reasons that are just kind of like,
well, maybe Pat can like integrate herself
into another group more than Mike's.
Like, you don't even know the other people
on the other side.
We don't know if Pat's going to be better at that
than somebody else
or if that's even a negative for you.
So I don't know.
Felt like it might be the beginning
of an overplay from Tanan,
even though it's like her sway within the group
was overall impressive.
Yeah.
I mean, in hindsight,
Devin probably would have been the better move
because he has connections on the other side now, right?
Oh, yeah.
That too.
Yeah, I'm surprised they couldn't drum that up,
you know, and be like,
hey, this guy is amassing a lot of power in this game.
Definitely, yeah.
Yeah.
And I love how when Brady took to Kilby
and he's like,
dude, don't you have this vote under control?
And like, you're the leader here.
You're leading this vote.
You're the leader.
No, I'm not a leader.
Did you see him?
He's like, no, I'm not the leader.
His eyes were like,
he's almost started to cry.
He's like, no, it's not me.
I saw that too.
Don't paint me as the leader.
And Brady knows full well
he's not the leader
and still is like, you're the leader.
What are we doing?
Yeah.
But I also like that Kilby
told Tanaan that Brady,
he was Brady's number one.
Yeah, so good.
Are you sure?
Yes.
Wait, but are you sure?
Because I don't see that
and nobody else sees that.
Yes, I'm sure.
Maggie made such a face at that.
Yeah, not Tanaan, it's Maggie.
Yeah.
Yeah, and then all you get
is Brady being like,
I'm going to like murder Kilby
for this unplugged controller comment
that he made earlier.
So good.
So good.
And then,
yeah, I don't know if Kilby
is necessarily long for this game
if those are his reads.
Like if Brady's my number one
and Brady is like,
Kilby's my number one enemy, actually.
Yeah.
No, Kilby said,
I'm not Brady's number one.
Right, that's right.
Or I'm not Brady's number one.
I'm Brady's number one.
He's not my number one,
but I'm his number one.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes, yes, that's right.
I have it reversed.
And Maggie's like,
what?
Are you sure?
You're going to have more than one.
No, actually, Brady hates you.
So funny.
I also did like how Brady
multiple times was like,
I'm the genius running it.
I'm playing both sides masterfully.
I'm out.
That was good.
Smarting people
instead of out-strengthening them.
Yes.
Which I kind of thought
they were going to give it to him.
I was like, oh, they're setting him up
to actually be a mastermind here
for a little bit.
I absolutely love Brady's confessionals.
The one where he was like,
no disrespect to Tanan,
but you have zero pull in this game
and cannot make this call.
The vote goes exactly her way.
Incredible.
That was great.
I love that.
It's good to have somebody
in confessionals
who's like not afraid
to just be, you know,
to say something extremely clearly.
And obviously you could be
really, really wrong
as Brady was.
Yeah.
But you need that.
That's what Survivor's looking for.
Somebody so confident
that it will work out for them
that all of the confessionals are that.
Like, I know that.
Like, you put me in a confessional,
I'm going to go in and be like,
I feel sorry for everybody else who's here
because I'm here
and that's really bad for them.
Like, I know I'm most probably going to,
like, eat shit at some point,
but I'm going to have fun with it
while you're out there, you know?
Yeah, absolutely.
Like, I'll even get calls from casting.
Like, they did this survivalist show
on Netflix recently
and they called.
I was like,
it would be unfair for you
to have me on there
versus the other people,
just so you know.
They're like, that's why we want you.
Yeah, exactly.
Say stuff like that.
So, yeah.
I liked all of that buildup.
I'm not sure why it shifted
from Mike to Pat
to kind of circulate around.
And then,
I also thought
Kilby and Tanon
were going to blow the whole thing up
by going and shaking Brady's hand
and telling him the target was Pat now.
Yeah, they were trying to.
They did.
They did try to tell him it was Pat,
didn't they?
Yep.
I think he just didn't believe it.
They did tell Brady.
They told him it was Pat.
Yeah.
Yeah, they shook his hand
and they were like,
us three are an alliance.
And Brady,
like, not in the alliance,
but getting information from him
is like, okay.
They were doing a three-way pinky thing
the whole time
through this whole conversation.
Because it doesn't hurt the thumb.
Well, and this was like,
oh, yeah, maybe, yeah.
And then,
this was where then
immediately after this
was Brady's like,
there's no way in God's green earth
this plan is going to work.
Zero disrespect to Tanon,
but,
and then he immediately
disrespects her massively,
which I love.
And then she ends up
getting it right.
And he got it wrong.
I think Brady probably thought,
okay, they're voting Pat.
That's fine.
But we have Carter and Lewis.
That's what I think Brady thought.
And so he was like,
we actually have the numbers.
We have seven.
We're good.
Right.
That's. Which is why, like,
because also there was some,
I mean,
and they might stitch this together
in editing or whatever,
but when they were reading the votes,
some of those Kilby votes,
there was a shot of Brady
where he just had this huge smirk
on his face.
Like, I'm about to, you know,
get this guy.
Yeah.
And then,
once the, like,
fifth Pat vote got read,
it was, like,
Devin and Brady both, like,
were like,
wait, what?
What just happened?
What's going on?
Yeah.
So good.
Who's going to get the blowback from that?
Is it going to be Kilby?
Is there going to be fireworks
thrown his way?
Or are they more going to be
at Lewis and Carter?
That's a great question.
I was going to ask you guys that, too,
because it seems like
everyone's just so focused on Kilby
and, like,
everything he says,
everything he,
he does,
that I feel like
no one has even thought twice
about Lewis
and Carter
even being, like,
a vote.
Did anyone, like,
try to sweet-talk them properly?
I'm not sure.
So, like,
who are they putting it on?
Yeah.
It'd be hard to be too upset
with Kilby
when he's like,
one, you were voting for me,
I had to save my own skin,
and two,
I told you it was going to happen.
Told you who I was voting for.
Yeah.
Exactly.
So you can't be,
so Kilby's,
so Brady's not getting upset at Kilby.
Nobody's getting upset at Kilby.
Probably,
I was going to say Brady.
Brady might get upset at Kilby,
but he's just not going to have a leg to stand on.
I don't know if that'll prevent him
from getting upset,
but those are the facts.
And then,
yeah.
I mean,
it's Lewis and Carter
who were the swing,
who at that point,
you're like,
we have to figure out
how to target them,
but can you pull the other side
into accepting that
and doing that?
Probably not.
So now you're on the,
not in the majority,
and,
yeah,
figuring a way to scramble,
which,
according to next week,
whatever scrambling they're doing
will be for not,
depending on how the tribes shake out.
Seems like we're going to have a swap.
Yeah.
Anything notable at Tribal Council?
I mean,
it just,
you know,
it's rare you see 11 people
at Tribal Council,
right?
Yeah.
So that was kind of,
unless it's emerged,
or everyone's,
you know,
emerged already.
So I thought that was kind of fun.
And like Jeff said,
it's always difficult to get,
you know,
six people on your side,
to make a vote happen.
So I like that side of Tribal,
kind of a little old school vibe,
but I think it was a pretty straightforward,
standard Tribal Council.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There was nothing like really shocking about it.
Not like last week's.
Pat's last words were really funny to me.
She says she didn't even want a cheeseburger.
She just kind of wants revenge.
And I like that.
Well,
we'll get to talk to her tomorrow,
see if she got her revenge yet,
or if she's playing the long game.
So we will do that.
And with that,
we will get into Riley's reads.
Okay.
Riley,
whenever you're ready.
Okay.
Yeah.
Let's run through our categories here.
Who advanced their game the most this episode?
I mean,
Carter definitely did,
but it was not necessarily skill that got him there.
So yeah,
I,
I mean,
it was a lot of luck on,
on Carter's part that he was able to get on the other tribe.
He got an idol.
He found an ally.
He had a lot of stuff that just like kind of happened for him.
I wonder if he could accidentally win,
you know,
that's only happened like once or twice.
Yeah.
It's only happened once or twice in survivor history.
Someone makes an accident.
Yeah.
Who else won by accident?
Besides me.
Yeah.
You,
I mean,
there was a Fabio was kind of one that they kind of,
kind of like bumbled around for a little bit,
although he did finish strong by winning out a bunch of challenges.
A lot of people think Natalie white from Samoa,
although I love that she won over Russell was so funny.
So I would love people kind of think this about,
about Bob from Gabon.
Maybe not really,
not,
- Not really, you don't think so?
It's been a while since I watched that one.
maybe
maybe Gabler
yeah
Allie Gabler
yeah
Mary Ann
so
I thought Mary Ann
was pretty impressive
but
yeah
there's a few
sorry I take that back
uh oh
it's hard
nope
okay
I don't want to name names
naming names
it is hard
it's hard to win
Survivor by accident
I think is what we've determined
so Carter
is going to need to do some things
yeah
yeah
okay
it can't be fully by accident
yeah
yeah
you need someone else
making mistakes
it would be really funny
if you came into the game
like
you know what
I'm just going to let things happen to me
and things will just go
where they go
yeah
yeah
I'll just go with it
my goal is to not really do anything
well is Carter
sometimes I say
the only way to play
is to not play
I sometimes believe that
where like
yeah
there's so much happening
there's so much stuff
in play
all the time
that like
you just gotta
play off
sit down
other people's mistakes
and react
and while people want to play
an aggressive game
and make a resume
and make big moves
that's
those players
don't do that well anymore
the players that kind of
sit back a little bit
I'm not
like Aubrey
in a way
like
saw the situation
analyze what was going on
let the big players
make the big moves
and make mistakes
and get voted off early
and then come in
and then do what you did
so I thought that
that's a valid way
to play the game these days
yeah
the less you do
the more you do
yeah
yep
the age-old adage
um
yeah
yeah
will Carter
defecting
or mutinying
to the other side
will that
be bad
for him
in the future
when the groups
come together
when there's a swap
supposedly
or something like that
is that gonna be
really
like is
are they gonna feel
abandonment
probably not
because they were
gonna target him
anyways
uh
I feel like
he's gonna be fine
so
I'll stay
I'll say Carter
Carter bettered his game
the most
this episode
okay
okay
I
get it
I'm gonna go
like a little
I think Lewis
did
yeah
a great job
uh
with his game
it wasn't like a big
flashy move
but I guess
what the audience saw
I feel
in my opinion
he bettered the game
he like
understood the game
made a move
with Carter
he positioned himself
well
in the tribe
and so I think
he positioned himself
to go a little bit
further now
uh
I'm thinking Maggie
I think
when
Maggie said
gimme
gimme
gimme that
was genius
because
Brady was gonna take it
he was gonna
he was gonna use it
just for his alliance
and everything
I honestly
do not think
Maggie is going to share
that advantage
with Brady
I think she's gonna be like
sure yeah
okay sure
everything he wants to hear
and then she's gonna use it
for whatever she wants
I hope that's what's gonna happen
so
I think that was a great move
you don't think Brady
is gonna come back
after getting blindsided
tonight
and go straight back to camp
and be like
we found
the advantage
and Maggie has it
you know
I still don't think
even if he does that
I don't think it's gonna go
good for him
cause she could just
still use it against him
no matter what happens
if he goes
yeah we found it
then that means
Carter's gonna be like
you guys
have my
advantage
that was supposed to be mine
now he looks like a jerk too
like it's just
I think
it works well for Maggie
for her just to sit back
and if Carter finds out
go
yeah I saved it for you bud
but I'm gonna keep it
I'll hold on to it
for you Carter
yeah
haha
but know that it's always here
I mean I think the tribe
has to know
the tribe has to know
that they have the
there's too many people there
yeah
there's too many people there
Carter's the only one
that doesn't know
I think
right
yeah for sure probably
oh it's so sad for Carter
but he might just stumble
his way to victory
Riley who you got
I'm gonna agree with Ethan
and say it was
it was Lewis
you know coming into a new tribe
and immediately reading
the divisions
and ultimately
determining the vote
pretty impressive
yeah
yeah
um okay who
who damaged their game the most
um
Rob
man
I think that
well
Carter
besides the people who went home
uh yeah
you can't say Pat
but I do think that
Devin now
is starting to
with his
butting heads with
Kilby and stuff
and
Kilby then shining a light on
Devin being controlling
is
I think Devin needs to
pump the brakes
and I don't think he's going to
and I
he didn't this episode
he accelerated straight into
going to visit the other tribe
and all of that stuff
so I do think that
while it
it wasn't necessarily
like a huge blunder
he's just
stepping into this leadership role
too hard
and it's
not gonna last long for him
yeah
I completely agree with that
I completely agree
I side with you
Tyson on this one
I don't know
like in the same lines
Brady
I think he was
aggressive today
trying to make big moves
smashing the stuff
just bringing more attention
to himself as
a wannabe leader
um
and working hand in hand
with Devin
so I think
both of them
put a target on him
a little bit
I'm gonna say Devin
I think Devin
kind of heard his game
around
because I think he just
during the challenge
he was announcing
what everyone's gonna do
he's telling everybody
that Kilby's like
evil and talking crap
like I think he just
he's
said too much
I feel like
if you tell everyone
this person's after me
this is what's going on
this is what's going on
everyone's gonna think
oh
why is that person after you
are you a threat
should we be looking at you
I feel like it's
it's gonna hurt his game
in the end
yeah
I kind of
when that was going on
I thought
if he were telling me that
and then we all
sat back at camp
and were like
what are you saying
he's like
oh he was telling us
how bad Kilby was
my first inclination
would be like
I gotta check in with Kilby
and see
how
what he says
about Devin
and then
determine
yeah
exactly
Riley who you got
you know
I don't know if like
they specifically
like
damage their game
the most
but the person
I think I'm feeling like
the most down on
after this episode
is actually Kilby
because he made
all the things
all these reads
that were just like
way off
you know like the
the saying
oh
I'm Brady's number one
when Brady actually
hates your guts
is crazy to me
right
so I'm
I'm a little
just like
I'm kind of down on
on him after this
and like
so even though
he survives this vote
that is crucial
you know
where he's so close
to going home
I'm like long term
having trouble
seeing the vision
for him
okay
let's do winner picks
okay
I mean
where's my winner's pick
I'm not gonna lie
oh no
oh no
sorry for your loss
my fantasy pool
is gonna be crushed
oh
it's an idea
a new winner pick
it's someone
we haven't seen
yet
it's gotta be
someone we haven't seen
not seen
but someone who is not
getting as much
camera time right now
just because
there were three
that came to mind
that I saw today
that started
bubbling a little bit
to the surface
and I was like
Tanan's always
kind of been there
she gets like
one or two good lines
in the episode
and then we don't see
a lot of her
but she's present
Maggie
we saw a little bit
more of her today
than we have
in the past episodes
and
she was the one
that was like
are you sure Kilby
and also
pulled the advantage
and then also
Alexis
I think has
really funny
one-liner
confessionals
she had one
at the top of it
episode
and then she had
a couple more
and I've led to believe
that she's the one
that said
this could be you Carter
when they were
walking away
with the victory
but
so
I agree
her
she's got little
sarcastic
one-liners
that she
the past couple episodes
Alexis
and yeah
I'm
I'm gonna flip to Alexis
I think she's a good
winner's pick
okay
okay
you influenced me
yes good
I'm an influencer
I'll go with
I'll stick with Kristen
I'm still with her
okay
it seems like
nobody's talking about her
in any negative capacity
nobody's targeting her
she seems like
she's fitting in fine
she's
gotta be
I think her energy
is that of
someone in a leadership
position
and I think that
she's
seems right now
like she's doing a good job
of balancing
like
being
,
seen as a leader
without actually
like being a dictator
like Devin
is doing
so I
that's
if
if you have to be a leader
you have to be
a
one that leads
with democracy
hmm
yeah
so
yeah
I like that
you should
tell some people
in our world
that
well
just start spreading
the word
Ashley
who you got
Sharonda
she
is my pick
for today
I've been going
between her and Jelly
but I'm worried
about Jelly
for next episode
because Ori
will be
distracting
there should
be no distractions
in your
your eye to win
so
Sharonda's my pick
she's
always behind the scenes
she doesn't
bring up any names
unless someone
has already brought it up
which
is so important
to me right now
and
Her helicopter alliance are like super apparent
super strong so i'm gonna i've never heard that term i like it yeah man so we'll see you didn't
that's what they've been calling themselves yeah they're the helicopter alliance but we'll see
because i don't think that they're as strong as they say but if they are then it should be really
good for sharonda yeah you think jelly tells ori out of her love that she has an idol like she's
gonna have she's gonna let it go definitely just to get on her side like don't do it but she might
she might for that man she told pat and pat's gone right so does anybody else know about her
she needs someone yeah good good question i don't know yeah okay riley who you got
uh sticking with sharonda who i've had since pre-season of course i gotta stick with her now
you know obviously there's a quiet episode for her but we did get i mean like
devon arrives and the first person he tells you know they go off for a one-on-one which for
which is also sharonda's idea hey let's do some one-on-ones which i thought was smart
is that smart or was that obvious maybe it's obvious but she says it you know she kind of
prompts into it no but i for me if i'm sitting there and i'm like somebody's like hey let's go
for a one-on-one i'm like i didn't need a one-on-one with this guy like what are we doing here
it seems like that's like they know this is what you do when it's time to scramble it's
like we need to take our one-on-ones and like let's go for a little but do you think devon
whoever took devon for the one-on-one first he probably would have revealed that he has a clue
to something it just she just happened to be in the right place the right time because
you know he was the first one he needed to get there asap you know yeah yeah i uh
i don't know i thought i still think it was smart to like prompt that into happening though too i
mean we kind of see on the other beach like carter does his one-on-ones and he's doing like the
second or third one and the boat starts ringing the bell it's time to go because like i don't know
they were just like hanging out at the tribe for too long or something um you like didn't he didn't
get through anything yeah um luckily he got plenty of time after do all the one-on-ones he needed to
he just stayed but um yeah i don't know so that was good then the only thing i didn't like for
sharonda this episode was when carter does get to that beach the first thing he says is sharonda and
lenea are running the show and i'm like ah that's you know that paints a little bit of a target on
i think that that's you know that's just like one comment and otherwise i think she's crushing it
and it's from carter who famously does not have his pulse the finger his fingers on the pulse uh
but it is funny yes how they go to these other tribes because this doesn't happen that often
we actually got a tribe visit on token chains uh from two people coming to steal stuff from us
but it's funny how they give up secrets
without the foresight of those secrets coming back to them at the merge or at a tribe swap
and they're just like yeah sharonda and lenea are in charge and i want to target them this will never
get back to them because you're on a different island and then like literally like two days later
they're all together so i think it's funny like you still come on guys if you go to another tribe
for a visit you still need to
discern which information you should and should not give everything that comes out of your mouth
should be discerning yes literally every single thing you need to you know preempt with should i
say this right now yeah exactly everything every single thing uh okay is that it okay last no last
thing is who's going home next episode which i guess is a real shot in the dark haha for us uh
given that we don't know what's going on and we don't know what's going on and we don't know what's
what the tribe divisions will be man yeah who's going home it looks like there's a tribe swap
there's gonna be like three people ish something like that more maybe uh or three tribes three
tribes yeah this is way too hard uh i think it's gonna be so okay i was i was thinking about this
once we kind of said it there's 17 people left yeah and i wonder if they'll do um 612 actually
i don't know how they're gonna do the wait 17 people left it's weird no hold on never mind
yeah yeah it's 665 i guess because i was thinking i was like oh there's one extra but actually
there's two if you divide into three three tribes the two people go to exile maybe i don't know i
don't know what's going on nice yeah yeah i yeah i think kilby still is going to struggle he's gonna
battle devon man i'm gonna go devon i think devon's next okay yeah he's perceived as a leader in a group
if he gets with a group that's he's not in the majority they're immediately going to target him
and yeah i think it's him i'm just gonna take a you know i'm gonna go with like mike
you know he's his name was tossed out there he's a little bit quiet on the outskirts of that five
like if they have to if they all get mixed up and they have to sacrifice something it seems like he
doesn't have the best connections with everyone so i'm gonna go with mike yankees
or the yankees thing that i'm like
i'm just gonna be transparent there yeah no you want him gone because he works for the yankees
kind of i do thank you thank you sorry uh i was thinking mike as well because i i don't think that
they're they're gonna target the big heads yet like the ones that are getting the numbers they're
gonna target the numbers and i think because mike isn't clearly aligned with anybody else
but is still giving his number to devon i think that instead of getting devon first they're gonna
go for mike and then they're gonna go for like just all the the people who are following behind
devon first not sure why they're doing that but uh it's not like the best idea because they probably
should just cut off the head first but like they're going for numbers first for some reason
so i'm thinking mike might be in trouble riley who you got i don't know i feel like i'll
say eric you know we knew he was like in danger a little bit ago and this swap is kind of one of
those yeah eric eric eric uh i mean kind of just have a blind choice here they show him in the
preview with him buddying up to to kilby but i can't tell if kilby is as warm about it as eric
seems to be so i don't know it's uh kilby is eric's new number one yeah yes
everyone is uh kilby's everybody's number one according to kilby
