Recapping ‘Survivor 51’ Episode 2 With Coach!

The transcript covers key moments from Survivor Season 51, focusing on strategic gameplay, player psychology, and production choices. A central issue is Rob’s attempt to write his name down during a tribal vote, which violates a longstanding rule and raises questions about whether the producers allowed such actions to create dramatic tension. This moment is analyzed as a potential misstep due to confusion about open-era rules, possibly stemming from insufficient awareness or lack of communication from producers. The season also features evolving alliances, such as Sharanda and Ori’s shift from rivalry to cooperation, suggesting a deeper strategic dynamic. The show’s narrative uses subtle cues—like voice mimicry and passive-aggressive dialogue—to build tension and reveal alliances. Physical challenges, including the whale obstacle and Brady’s thumb injury, add realism and drama, while producers deliberately include nostalgic elements like rain and marooning to contrast with the open-era chaos. The discussion highlights the balance between authenticity and strategy, with characters like Eric and Rob showcasing how personal traits influence gameplay. Overall, the season blends high-stakes drama, player vulnerability, and creative storytelling, offering viewers a layered and emotionally resonant experience. The episode also subtly critiques how media and production teams manipulate game rules to generate drama, emphasizing the tension between real player intent and televised narrative.

All right, we are back with a legend four-time player who's on last season monumental season season 40 our friend season 50 the monumental season was season 40 50 was also a season 50 a monumental season well it was also monumental uh the dragon slayer coach what's up how does it feel to go back to watching survivor after being on it last season? You know it's actually it's a relief um I was just telling uh my wife Jessica last night how awesome it was to just go all in to do everything I wanted to do from you know playing the national anthem and you know doing your podcast and doing the nicknames it was just such a great ride doing the rock shows with Ben Kassman and just really being all in you know going from reclusivity to doing everything was really awesome but then I'm glad to say that I'm glad that I'm over you know for me I'm very you know me I'm very black and white I'm all or nothing and so for me to just do it all was great and then for me to do nothing now I took a month off of social media you know didn't make a single post and it's been great this is actually me climbing out of the mountaintop hermitage that I've been on socially and this is dipping my foot in the water back again I'm actually a little bit nervous right before I got on the call I was like I'm actually nervous to talk to Tyson and to do the podcast just because I haven't I haven't done anything like this um you know really since the finale I kind of just checked out and I think that's really therapeutic for me personally uh so anyway it feels good to watch and not have to think about posting you know I've never been one that that likes to be a slave to the post and you know that's why I put a big black screen on my last post over a month ago that just said you know basically I'm checking out and I'm like I'm gonna do this I'm gonna do this I'm gonna do and I encourage you to do the same thing uh and so it's been nice to do that well you're back now checked in so what's the post going to be instead of the the blank uh darkness light you want to know I'll tell you you did it with me I know actually you didn't do it with me because I wasn't doing a group one no you did it heroes and villains coachee that's what the post is going to be getting in the mode of the zen slayer so my next post is going to be about a really limited run countdown begins tonight at 7 uh 20 slots I'm going to take people on a little coachee journey in person or via zoom or what yeah via zoom I'm not letting these uh I'm not going to do it in person uh in zoom come with me to a private island and we'll do it who knows what kind of whacking news would be signing up for that what are you talking about uh just just coach I had an idea for us because next year no 2028 is the 20-year anniversary of when token sheen's film and I floated the idea to you to take 10 to 15 people down to the exact locations where token sheen's was filmed we go to exile island out there all of that stuff Riley Ashley you in or out I'm in I'm in 20-year anniversary trip token sheen's yeah okay I'm down Ashley you hesitate you hesitated for a second there I don't know you had to think about it come on no here's the thing Tyson it's going to be like it's going to be like a survivor audition yeah see you're going to vet these people so I'm all about that but I don't have time or energy or savviness like Tyson Apostle to go and vet these people I'm all in on that trip man but for the coachee we can't do that in person I'm going to just do that and you're going to do 20 walk through the journey do we do we have to do like the 10 mile hike to the camps and stuff like that it was oh just the first day do you want to do you want to relive the whole season we were just going to go to the notable locations yeah I would rather just be like helicoptered in but yeah you know I don't know we'll drive in some people experience we're going to go see the camps we're going to see all the reward all the places where the rewards were like all the beautiful lush jungly areas we're going to go spend days they're going to go see exile island that giant sand dune all of it and this is just an idea that I'm just floating we may not do any of this because that's easier to just not do stuff anyways that's not why we're here we're here a to sign up be the first to sign up for coaches coachee uh online zooms and then secondly to talk about episode 2 season 51 the open era coach what the fuck was Rob's play he wrote writes his own name down at that like what was his idea what was he thinking that he could do and has he not watched enough survivor to know even in the open era when there's no rules one of the rules is you can't write your name down bro I literally still don't know what happened in that tribal I need I need for you to I need for you to dissect because it seemed like so much nonsense and so much what you know like camera time they want to be talked about on reddit I mean it seems like a play for that more than a play for you know he just got freaked out started missing his family and thought maybe there's another way and then second-guessed guessed it and then said okay no I don't want to do that but then for him to write his name down I mean moron absolutely yeah what so let's walk through it a little bit because I think you touched on it like he was missing his family he talked about sacrificing himself but kind of was like questioning it should he or should he not and I don't I don't was he planning to go home Riley was he planning to go home by writing his own name down yeah I guess so I I don't know he was going to vote himself out of the game I think he was genuine yeah I think he genuinely had no clue where the votes were going and hence why Eric didn't listen to him at all I think that if Eric had played a shot in the dark Rob would have played for Eric and then right for Eric and then so because after he realized he could not write his own name down you know that rule he ends up voting for Eric I think he figured out he was like oh wait if I vote for Eric and Eric plays a shot in the dark we might get a scenario where I negate basically every single vote and then maybe he'd be like everybody vote for me or whatever he I think he intended it for it to be that the only vote that was going to count was going to be the one for him oh and you know that that's actually right that's actually really Riley that light bulb just clicked and he and he would go out in like this most epic fashion freaking a that's it right there he wanted to be the most like get out and easy out but also like super talked about and yet he didn't take the quitting way so this is this so that is exactly why or at least one of the reasons why they don't let you vote for yourself right so you can't if you do want to quit you got to do it in the most like tail tucked between your legs fashion oh I'm leaving game not this big blaze of glory where you wrote your own name down and negated all the votes of tribal they don't want you doing that they want to make quitting you know as as low of an incentive to quit as possible yeah and Rhode Island Rob would never quit that way I guess not I don't know I'm happy to still have him in the game by the way too even if he's miserable and missing his family it's just such a wild card yeah and do you remember last week when he was like I'm keeping this idol secret to the end I'm not telling anybody about it that lasted a day until he told Eric that he had an idol do you remember this week where he said losing is not my vocabulary and then like an hour later it was like I might just have to quit this game quitting's not losing dude that's uh sure like are you getting fired or are you quitting before you can't fire me yeah yeah I knew something I knew something was wrong when he started like rehashing the challenges you know and just the way that he was approaching it oh yeah you could see that there was there was that was starting to turn loose just a little bit which is so good and like you could see him unraveling as he's like and I'm still bugged from last challenge the puzzle makers like every single challenge he's just gonna target whoever was the weak link do you think he's gonna ever be the weak link and recognize that that it's him no I don't think he's very self-aware I believe some people said that about me once upon a time so I you know it takes one sure like if anybody knows it could be And, uh, i want him and uh him and brady to be on the same tribe that loses some challenge in a team setting either because of them or because of somebody else but the amount that they would both come together and like grill somebody or grill the group or whatever it would be that would make survivor history oh well let's talk about brady's thumb is that the grossest thing you've seen on survivor that they showed the tip of the thumb that was insane i didn't i don't think i needed to see it i feel like it could just be described i actually texted matt van wagnon i was like this thumb is making me barf my coffee up dude oh i couldn't i thought man that whole scene was almost that was like surreal i actually thought he was gonna like quit you know like because he was so mentally distraught um it's always the biggest right that like are the biggest babies i mean i get it right i mean we've all had yeah you know injuries and he was in a state of shock but that state of shock seemed to prolong itself you know uh much longer than it than it needed to but when i at first i thought it was just a cut but when we got to see that little piece of thumb and then that girl that was holding it in the detail that was like looking off like this oh she didn't have to look at it that was so much blood and then he's flipping out and i do think like mike was like uh this dude is more concerned about staying in the game than that he just chopped at the tip of his thumb off it was a pretty good chunk of thumb my sister in elementary school accidentally clipped about that much of her thumb off or her finger off with a paper cutter at in elementary school the the ones with like the chop saw thing and they took the finger and reattached it so i was like he has to exit if he wants to save the whole thumb he has to exit but that wasn't awesome he was just like nope i'm like i'm fine with a little it's a sliver of thumb it will once it heals you'll maybe barely recognize that it even was chopped maybe i don't know but he it will it will not look like it will not look like uh bill green's finger on the big city greens i don't know if you watch that with your kids tyson but he's a little farmer cartoon and he literally walked around with a finger like this um i think you know it reminds me reminds me of a story i've never told this story actually because it's not a heroic story it reminds me of when i was in shock um i was playing madden football until 4 a.m in the morning with my roommates when i was in my 20s and i went to work the next day a little bit tired and we had these grinders that would spin at about 40 000 rpm and i was holding a rag and it got sucked up into the grinder and the rag exploded and it actually took all the skin from here to there off my hand and i remember looking at my hand and being in absolute shock i could not move i could not speak there was a huge bang and so my boss came in and he saw that it looked like shrapnel on my hand and i couldn't actually function so it kind of reminded me about that a little bit where you go through those stages but i think there's a more important thing to say here and that is i feel that the producers are setting something up in the future whether he's injury prone i just don't think it's a one-off incident to me it felt a little bit deeper than that and his reaction and hugging the doctor so i'm just i'm going to keep a close eye on him because i feel like something else is going to happen either another injury or he gets it lets it get in his head or maybe gets infected maybe it's like james and you know uh he wrote villains it just seems like there was more to play uh than just i'm a little bit like bill green with my thumb and now what's going to happen yeah he does get super hyper amped i don't even think i used enough adjectives for that super hyper amped for things and then he just loses control of his body to a certain degree where he's like and i could see that coach that's uh a hot take i like it though i think yeah like yeah it could be he pushes too hard and he's so stoked to be there and he's so like it's it is partly too like the cameras are on and stuff you do feel invincible it's like you're for some reason if it's going to be shown on tv you're just like jump off a building no problem yeah eat something disgusting not even knowing if it could kill me why not and so i and he i think takes this to even a more extreme degree and i you're you could be spot on um also sending jeff the nub of the of his thumb is is the doctor truly doing that is he like knocking on jeff's uh beach house in fiji being like jeff i brought you something or does he just leave it on the doorstep like a cat does with a dead bird and like here's a present yeah i would check that thing in the ocean here you go here's something here's something yeah here's something that you can have uh to enjoy looking at with uh your morning coffee jeff brady if you were i will say i will i will say yes dyson you know i i i feel watching this season because you you were talking about me being spot on i feel like i can watch it with a lot more relevancy just because i've been on recently so watching this survivor is like a completely new experience for me i'm looking at the you know the butts between the sentences the ands you know at the end of the preposition if that makes sense and i'm looking at you know the lines within the lines it's so much more uh exciting and i will say this um you know just sitting there watching the first episode and then watching this this episode you know like putting on an old shoe it's a great show yeah and and thank you for having me on because i don't know if i would i don't know if i would have gotten into this season i may i maybe would have let the episodes build up um but because i knew how i had this coming you know i want to get familiar with the characters but it's like with a different eye that i get to watch it yeah for sure so last thing about brady's thumb is you know it would have been badass brady instead of sending that to jeff using it to catch fish like putting that thumb on a hook that would ashley you would catch a fish that way you know i thought you were gonna say he should have ate it or something honestly oh my god dude can you isn't that illegal ashley nutrition dude we're having fun here ashley and you're talking about brady cooking up his own thumb for some rice flavoring little protein that would have helped him on the challenge come on guys that's gnarly and also he would be instant legend for good or for bad of reality tv do you think they would have let him eat that and if he had eaten it would they even show that on tv coach is matt van wagnon showing that on tv if he eats his own thumb no but i think you know it's such it's such dense material at the tip of your thumb you would have to fry it up number one number two you know if he did go and yeah you bet number two if he would use it for bait that's reusable bait right there you can just keep using that you can just gut the fish can't take the bait out keep using it man it's like never-ending bait oh my gosh dude disgusting the thumb uh and for those that are still with us yeah can we can we uh coach i gotta get your thoughts well i want i want to talk about the intro oh yeah coach i know you gotta have thoughts on this the remixed intro song that they did how'd you like that i was listening to it i paused it sent a little message to um to david vanicore you know we we we hang out a little bit he actually lives in reno i sent a message to him so i did clock and i paused it i thought about it he's the guy that writes all the music he's the guy that wrote the theme song for survivor and he's the guy that writes all the music for it um he said he might need a little trumpet on this season by the way be listening for that okay um anyway so um yeah so i paused it and i listened to it i feel i like it i feel like you know like it's ready for it's like readying us readying us for battle you know that's what i that's what i feel like and you know i think since the dawn of of armies looking the bible uh looking that the uh you know when we were in the civil war uh you know the revolutionary war sorry and we were you know sitting there with a snare drum you know so i just feel like that the music this season from the intro on uh is readying us for the battle that is to be played out in front of our eyes is that what's missing from modern war to get the public behind some of these uh conflicts is i don't know drums aren't a thing anymore like before the drone strike you just have like a full symphony just rocking out pumping everyone up let's go let's go they can use my drum line i got 70 kids in my drum line this year man i'm literally i'm literally going deaf wearing earplugs i'm going deaf okay yeah well i never thought of that but uh here we are um yeah i i heard the remix and i was like yeah it's uh kind of nostalgic but also different the open era and uh yeah i liked it it had the a mix of old and new was good it was a good mix to let us know that survivor was still here but it's a little bit different um reward challenge for a comfort and a tarp which then it started raining later in the episode do you think that the producers saw rain on the forecast and were like let's get some tarps out there absolutely they certainly delayed i guarantee you they were sitting around in the tent sitting there saying well when are we going to do this challenge we're waiting for this challenge producers are like we're delaying it let's let that storm that was later that was for the say let's go so the reward challenge they got the tarp but it did dump the next day on the other challenge but yeah they they definitely did prolong that to do it in the pouring rain but do you think that at the reward they were like we got to get some tarps let these uh new school kids get some uh because we don't see rain like this as often in fiji for survivor seasons as we used to when we go all over the world but it is such a weak reward it really is in my opinion i love a tarp i mean how many people can use the pillow how many people can use the pillows yeah the tarp is useful the hammock is you know like one person in the hammock i always think when they show those that i just want food yeah or something you know food or are you not trying as hard because there's not food involved like what is what is the drive no no you're always you're always trying i actually i was watching the celebrations you know and i won 18 championships in 22 years for college soccer and when you win that final game it's hard to replicate that and i feel like every single challenge no matter what it's for on survivor you get that breathless sheer exuberance and adrenaline spike that leaves you you know weak in the knees every time you win it's a friggin it's a rush and a half you know to do that last year at 55 years old was something else man it was really cool it's a good gift you know to have to still feel that level of intense excitement and adrenaline yeah i i mean it definitely is i think part of it is because it's like a lot of these people have already talked about it being a once-in-a-lifetime kristin who actually hurts her foot somehow this challenge by falling on top of herself in the netting uh is also like i try i've been around for 26 years like this isn't stopping me um she's hobbling around i think she'll be okay it depends we'll see the next episode if it swells up and gets worse or if it stays the same she's fine um but uh yeah toka wins the comfort i kind of because i have also been like ah rewards they don't matter as much you're still in the game regardless of if you win or lose but also i think the drive for me at a reward challenge like this where it's tribe versus tribe is the other tribe losing it's not so much about getting the actual reward it's taking the reward from the other tribe you know how much in awe i i am of you still tyson with uh challenges oh that was an old me i'm i'm older and i'd still be pretty good at the challenges no no i'll take you in i'll take you any day of the week you're my first round traffic if we ever did the schoolyard pick no matter what if i could phone a friend out there and they say you're the best you're the best you're gonna have one person i'd pick you over thank you yeah i'm not bad i'll i'll get in shape for that coach if you need me to uh not not for everybody but i'll get in shape for you if that's what you need um let's uh let's go to toka so they win they win the reward and then brady's like using the hammer with the axe like very very carefully smart how long is that gonna last one episode yeah probably not not forever yeah was it smart of jelly like it seemed like she went and found the idol without anyone noticing at all i think it was a genius move i think also because everyone was happy because she was the one who won the challenge as well so she was in everyone's good grace graces she was the first one to get on the hammock so they're already treating her very nicely and then she just snuck off without her shoes so nobody's really thinking she's searching for anything found the found the idol snatched it away came right back yeah but everyone's without their shoes all the time though yeah they i think she shouldn't have told anybody though that was the biggest issue for me it's always it was an interesting weird tale because she's not even locked in with pat pantsless pat as we know her um and she immediately tells pat to draw her in which like yeah you got to draw somebody in somehow and if it works great then it's a great play but it's also risky it's a high risk play to tell someone that you're not fully aligned with about your idol so but in a way she'll also probably find out whether or not it worked because the word might get back to her that pat's telling everyone she has an idol so she used it kind of to lock in pat as the core of that five group with brady devon and mike who apologies to mike we've been calling him ass d over here for a long time and i think it's for assistant director at the yankees but they're in the playoffs and arizona diamondbacks aren't and they the yankees have actually won their first playoff game against the red socks so look who has egg all over their face riley yeah just riley just riley egg on his face for calling mike ass d what you brought that up look we don't have to point fingers at who said what or did what or who repeated what joke that a senior director told them at a different time during a different baseball game if the yankees uh you know have a great postseason let's say they go and they win the world series wasn't mike like gone for a big chunk he's still getting a ring he's still gonna get a world series ring yeah he'll get the world series ring but want to be like hey we had our best season ever when you missed the big huge chunk of it but he's out there now he's gonna get offers from all the teams to be we'll see yeah maybe he can graduate from ass d to yeah junior d yeah well big d yeah senior d so uh yeah congratulations mike on that and also being part of this core alliance at toka and uh i also before we go to the immunity challenge jelly is talking about og idol just a regular idol so pumped coach was that survivors and jeff's plan the whole time was to starve us of all the things we loved about survivor to then reintroduce them and then us be like thank you and they'll be like you're welcome like we got regular idols back we've got rain in the i don't know how they planned the rain but a challenge in the dumpster and we're going to be like oh my god we're going to be like oh my god we're going to be dumping pouring rain that's pretty old school uh the marooning is old school and uh yeah what what do you think like is that so so far removed it's fresh now yeah for sure i mean look i don't think that they planned it all along but there's always this affinity for the first time in the first you know the first era and i think that for quite a long time you know the one thing that rings truth on all the social media is bring back an og season and i think that they purposely set up the open era so they could do whatever the frick they wanted to do and coming back you know they they're not dummies i think that it's pretty astounding to me when i realize how much matt van wagen and jeff probes go out there and research this stuff and watch your podcast and see what people are saying you know they're not the people that are not listening to what people are saying and so i think that knowing that knowing that the new era you know was not a disaster but definitely leaving people you know wanting that old school flair that as they're approaching season 50 they see how successful season 50 is there's no question that they're going to start out like they have old school type that's what it feels like it just feels like uh but people are liking it i felt even more old school vibes this episode than i did the premiere i think and part of that was the rain the challenge you're freezing cold you just want to go and figure out how to hide from the rain and you're freezing and shivering but you're like we got to win this thing right now um and uh yeah what do you think of that immunity challenge brutal amazing i think you know do you think that there's a do you think that there's a moment when the rain is pouring and the wind is whipping that jeff is thinking subconsciously i can't believe i'm still doing this but it's only a fleeting moment but do you think that he thinks like in a good way or a bad way no just like in a like in a not in a bad way but just like just like i can't believe i'm doing the time and then but i'm doing i think he probably all the time maybe not maybe like i mean he's been doing it for so long that it's like you know how they're like when you get old and you've been doing something so long do not retire keep your foot in the door to some capacity otherwise what are you going to do you're going to be like you got to live for after that and not saying that jeff has nothing to live for after that but may as well write it as long as you can like this is the thing this is uh i think he came out and said this was his life's work to make a tv show for people yeah that's true i know and it's interesting and it's interesting tyson because you know we've been through it man like we've been through watching him start to check out you know and try to do other things from his talk show and whatever and and then him coming back with new uh you know with new energy and and i remember when he said that i thought that was really i thought that was really cool when he said that's his life's work but anyway on to the challenge you know uh that way that whale so heavy dude first of all you know i and i actually i actually i got back on social media yesterday and the first thing i see is this b-roll footage of a live whale crashing and i and i commented on the cbs boat i said there's nothing there's no better b-roll than survivor b-roll right and so you know you see the whale and then all of a sudden there's one in the challenge a freaking great challenge man it's great to see something you know like that that's fresh and new and some great big thing monstrosity that the art department has created uh i loved it do you think that if you ripped that well open it would be a giant gecko because they used that one season and then inside the gecko is a giant snake because they just sewed a new costume around the old giant weighted thing here's every here's everything that's been sitting laying in the corner of the art department or challenge department let's sew it up in that whale can we sew that gecko that's got a snake in it into a whale dude brilliant may as well recycle reduce reuse recycle um like a fijian turducken i uh i also want to note that those spinny rolly bar things that you have to get over those were extra high yeah they were really high up i think we did one on token chains or i've done it before and i've been able to get over it by myself without the aid of anybody it might have been on blood versus water but i was able to because i'm a pretty strong swimmer jump and kick and grab and get over it myself but this is too high to do that you definitely need the team uh to help everyone over so i did like that that they made it like really right there on the limit of what was doable and i think they try to do that as much as they can especially in these tribal uh face-offs but it's got to be hard to build a challenge where you're like we want them to barely make it but we want them to make it but just barely so i think they hit it right on the head this time tyson you know i talk to my kids sometimes because they have decent genetics nothing like yours and rachel but they have good genetics and i i ever ask i sometimes ask them about that you know there's gonna be a point in your life where you're gonna look around and other people are gonna be thankful for your genetics but man you really like i mean seriously i was literally while you were saying that picturing you good swimmer taller than me you know not many men taller than me you know do you ever just sometimes think god's really blessed me with really good genetics i mean not especially maybe i should more but our backs hurt more often coach because of our height uh it doesn't hurt now but it has in the past it's good and bad okay so all you short kings out there that don't have sore backs counted a blessing immunity challenge maggie brings it home for toka everyone's chanting her name she gets her flowers she's got to be pumped i really almost thought that this was gonna go back and like sabu is gonna come they did like a really good job of like it was like oh okay we get a blow out like kind of the music was like indicating blow out and then it started to like really turn and i was like wait is this actually gonna happen and then and then no you know maggie maggie did close it out yeah and savu did also it looks like they quit for a second and we're just like let's just watch and there is a part coach have you ever been in a challenge where you're so far behind that you just hope the other tribe wins quickly so you don't have to keep pretending to try absolutely right yeah you're like i'm surrounded by buffoons and we're definitely not going to win but that tribe can't just finish and so we are still standing here looking like buffoons you got like one hand on the whale just kind of like pushing it look at how hard i'm working everybody i never give up i found myself in that situation most most individual immunity challenges i remember that one time when we when sophie was gonna beat ozzy and i literally just i just literally i think albert and i both just stopped and i was like oh my god i'm gonna win i'm gonna stop that we just started cheering sophie on because we were so far out of it and i just wanted to be over with and get my water bottle yeah there's those moments and you're just like get me out of this and hopefully on tv they don't show how bad i am at this thing that i'm doing right now so um there's probably a little relief from savu but also once they got the whale over they're like okay we can maybe do it uh but and no chance maggie crushed it uh and uh we want to because this is where it just unravels and rob just wants eric immediately like but then he doesn't uh anna floats her own name as a decoy mistake well first she throws out hold on first she threw out kristin and then she was like that was a mistake let me throw out my name and she's like that was a mistake and it was like oh my goodness this is a mess and then she made a huge mess she threw out her own name which she didn't think was a mistake until everyone just like readily agreed like okay yeah we should just pretend it's you let's just pretend it's you um and she did get a read on it she was like oh um a couple things coach have you ever met an eric that spells their name with an a i have can't say that you have riley this is not weird to you yeah yeah uh we used to have an eric with an a that works here at the ringer a i or a r a r i c okay i was just about to harass carter relentlessly on here it's not because no please you can still harass him not only harass him it's such an uncommon spelling riley don't don't spoil it not only did carter ask if it's eric with an e or an a he then at tribal council does it with an a to double down on his argument that you can spell eric with an a this is one of my favorite like little things in survivor is that they don't tell any of you how to spell anyone's name and you just get this like alphabet soup at every tribal council i love it there are also those uh social media posts where it's like every misspelled name ever on survivor and it's people just holding up the wonkiest spelling of names it's like a like nine hour long youtube video or something it's so long um and uh and so we get that i also do crabs learn are crabs so intelligent that they know we're out to get them on survivor that was so funny even though the way like he said that the first time he's like they're out to get us or whatever and i was like oh like i was even thinking like you maybe don't want to say it like that they know we're out to get him yeah and then and then later it like literally happens like lenay hears him and is like that's it he's scheming yeah so so great they know we're out to get them i don't think crabs know that we're out to get them but no maybe i'm wrong they're they're forever learning they're actually like uh one of the smartest species in the world yeah do you think i know i don't think so at all i don't think they know we're out to get them do crabs even have like a brain what is happening up there yeah i don't think they're also like they watched christian catch a crab followed him back to camp to see what happened peered in the pot and were like oh they're warming it up and still feeling okay about it until they start eating it and they're like oh shit we gotta smarten up right now crabs aren't learning like that they're not i think what happened is that they ran towards the crabs and then the crabs ran away yes crabs are skittish um between carter spelling eric and then being convinced that the humans are learning on the same island uh does not bode well for my uh for my positive outlook on carter's game can can carter still win this game with those reads or are they just setting him up to be the guy that comes out with these cold takes probably the the the the crabs are progressing and carter's regressing right in human do you think that they're setting us up for the smart carter vote him out more likely like somehow the crabs yeah there's just like a sequence of the crabs just getting carter so good he has to like exit no we're gonna we're gonna there's got to be one there's got to be one clip there's got to be one clip at night where there's a crab on carter at night and he like goes like this he's like something's on me at night that's just all i want from the season for the next few episodes is that is a crab on eric or the crab walking away with a machine the machete or the pot or the flint and steel or something that would be still a shoe yes really good water yeah even climbing into a shoe so when he puts his shoe on he's like ah ah they got me got me yeah they're after me they're learning everyone's like okay how do you spell crab with an e or an a yeah riley or i can't believe riley's on carter's side with this eric spilling i i've seen it i don't know so you wouldn't raise your eyebrow at that and be like are you for real i feel like i would just generally never ask somebody how to spell their name or like or even ask other people hey how do you spell this person's name i feel like it kind of gives away that that's like your true intention to vote yeah so maybe i'd actually use it a little strategically like if you ask the name it feels really real like you're you're not just throwing the name out you're like oh you know but then if it's somebody i mean like it kind of almost comes off as a joke you're like how do you spell eric and it's like there's only there's not that many options there's one option any other option is absurd and if you spell your name that way it's because your parents purposely tried to make your life hard all right i did look it up because uh you know the social security website has baby name info for america and they only show it if it's in the top 1000 names but eric was in the top 1000 from 1969 through 2001 with a or with e with an a with an a yeah sorry eric with an a no it was in the top 1000 it peaked at conspiracy it peaked as the 502nd most popular baby boy name in 1977 eric with an a and then if we do eric with me i'm not buying i mean eric with me is top 500 baby name in the that year means that only maybe one person is named that because all the others are named everything before that there's i can i can figure that out too 50 million jonathans there's like that's like there's there's not a lot of them 500 so most popular that year in 1977 when it peaked at 502 there were 265 boys named eric with an a with a r i c yes and then with an e it was 20 000 20 000 that same year that same year yeah yeah okay so for basically for every one eric with an a you get uh what is that like a hundred a thousand no no you get a hundred you get a hundred two hundred to twenty thousand you get a hundred yeah eric's with an e okay rare there must have been a lot of scandinavians so during that time that's a spelling that you would see yeah in norway yeah it's a freaking you know my wife's uh my grandmother came on the boat through ellis island they're all fighting and um i think eric means something like ruler king i think in uh norwegian riley you want to fact check that fun fact eric means something like ruler king yeah right okay wait a second wait a second okay yeah dude the name eric with an a means eternal ruler or noble ruler dude and it is a masculine given name of old norse and germanic origin nice and this is what about coach when people ask me about coach and they're like do you believe all the stuff he says and all the things he claims to know and i'm like it does seem outrageous that he would know so much about everything but every time you kind of investigate whether or not he's accurate he's generally accurate yeah like you i we i remember walking past a boxing gym with coach and coach is like hey i want to go in and punch a bag real quick i was a semi-pro boxer and i was like okay and we walk in and he bangs the bag a couple times and the owner of the gym comes over he's like you used to be a fighter and he's like yeah i dabbled a little bit like it's more often than not coach is uh there is some truth to what he's saying so yeah take that internet there you have it so love it just because i still have this page up and i think you'll appreciate this so the same year 1970 uh where eric lunay is the 502nd name the 503rd name right below this is jeremy with an o j-e-r-o-m-y what were the parents doing in 1977 having a good time man dude that's uh they were having a good time but okay so you did prove our point riley that spelling eric with an a is absurd yeah that doesn't uh that doesn't lend a lot of credibility erics and dromies uh yeah you know get out on survivor people will be having a difficult time with your name low energy unfocused foggy you might be dehydrated gatorade zero powders have been scientifically designed to help improve balance in the body with a clinically proven electrolyte blend and no artificial colors or flavors great tasting hydration no matter where you're going shop now online or at retailers nationwide gatorade hydrates better than water is it in you symptoms noted are signs of mild to moderate dehydration consult a health care professional if symptoms persist we're back at savu before we get to tribal council who's playing this right it's between eric and eric and eric and anna i guess is anna burying herself i mean she does go home did she do too much i mean was it was she the one that was talking about yes yes we didn't talk about popcorn she got caught out so it's like yeah i mean so that's like that was the first yeah that's the first mistake right and i do think that um i think her name is was it alexis that kind of like sussed that out and then started going to other people and and planning to see like i felt like that was i didn't i didn't really clock her in the first episode but then this episode i i thought you know maybe she is a dangerous uh player because she knows right when to start talking and throwing people's names out there uh and she didn't flat out lie when she said you know she's talking about you anyway but i think the popcorn was the first mishap and she knew it she i think it was just like a continual fumbling of the ball yeah she knew she had some okay reads some good reads even but she did keep fumbling and she didn't know what was going on and she didn't know what was going on and she was fumbling with those reads a little bit um i also think uh she didn't want the name to be her so she was just gonna throw other names out i think that's a little aggressive early on well she threw she threw her own name out and then she threw her own name out but she initially didn't she say she wanted to target sharonda and linea and then uh alexis went to sharonda and linea after the popcorn thing and was like anna's throwing your names out and that's where it all kind of started snowballing i think i remember we like clocked her in pre-season too and she says it again in this episode where she's like i really want to cause like chaos and mischief and whatever and i'm like if you go in with that mindset you may be too aggressive and maybe pretty transparent to people that you're like that too yeah yeah whereas eric does it unknowingly yeah eric uh um yeah you signing eric up for your improv team ashley i i have a lot of opinions about improv and i think it's very cruel and unusual to force everyone to do improv because they can't say no right yeah so they have to actually survivor thing you always just have to sit there and pretend like you're enjoying him to do that to them like come on dude improv on survivor is the sport to take to even like be like oh yeah i'm on it and then he's like okay we're milking a cow yeah really it's the color brown yeah which oh eric let's talk about eric for a second here coach he's grading everybody he's on everybody's nerves nobody knows it uh are you bonding with eric over music because he does love to talk about different bands i'm not bonding with him he's he's the odd duck as much as much as i'm eclectic you can vouch for this as much as i'm eclectic when i'm doing my confessionals and as the season goes on and i feel like i've got a good foothold i'm not great i'm not grading on people's nose i mean maybe when i was licking candace uh cheek in the first survivor maybe i was grading on her nerves but i mean i think i'm pretty personal but just just to have a personality if you can't turn off your turn off your weirdness and just be normal. then nobody's playing with you really you know they might play with you but they're not playing with you yeah it is it is a balance and and it is hard like the elements of survivor do force you to come out and expose who you are as a person but initially on those first like the first impressions days the first week like you're just trying to fall in line you got to be in your best behavior you got to be on your best behavior you know i'm not doing coachy the first week usually i'm certainly not giving nicknames the first week because people will be like those guys yeah wait till week two or three to do those but but then you do kind of have your alliance locked a little bit and you can afford to let it shine a little bit but eric goes hard with who he is right off the bat and big respect but also like that is going to make you a target you um so yeah crazy and then we get to this uh tribal council anything before we go to tribal council riley did we miss anything no i don't know i feel pretty good about yeah i think we got everything okay uh tribal council we get a little back and forth still and again i think we got a little back and forth still and again anna kind of clocked sharanda uh targeting her with like sharanda talking about we're voting the annoying family member out is it weird uncle bob or is it cindy lu like yeah you see anna be like i'm cindy lu like nobody else can do cindy lu's voice but me yeah she's a voice actor yeah that's like almost too direct that's pretty much telling anna you're voting for her when you say cindy lu like that voice it's gotta be anna um and uh it's kind of a battle it's like a passive aggressive battle between sharanda and ori getting their way like it's not direct like last episode with brady versus devon it's now sharanda saying if you're not at the table being served you're the one on the menu and ori being like let's just take the layup let's take the layup you're not at the table being served you're the one on the menu and ori being like let's just take the layup let's take the layup so do you think that after this vote sharanda and ori will come together like devon and brady did where they're like oh this is the open era you actually don't have to vote with somebody to still be with them or is this going to be more like no sharanda and ori are like actually at odds now and that kind of because earlier this episode i mean sharanda was like oh me and ori are actually like this yeah and and no one knows it and now it's like i don't know they're shifting of gears does no one know it though if you are if if someone's coming to me and be like yeah that sounds like a good plan but i gotta go tell ori about it yeah i'm feeling like they're definitely taking the lead but then they vote against each other so maybe this is i'm wondering if there was a part of this it was almost like intentional too of like hey neither of us are the target let's actually vote against each other because we're working together oh 40 chess i think they're coming back together i think the reason they're coming back together is because they had a conversation about it beforehand whether or not they agreed is come second to them actually knowing what each other was wanted to do and planned to do so this just seems to be such a big thing that they're hitting this season right now this idea of like do you have to vote together to be together and i feel like it's contrasted with these two pairs like devon and brady who i think are actually kind of naive about it and then sharonda and ori who felt more like genuinely at odds this episode but i actually could see them coming together and it being like real more real for them than it is for for devon and brady who i think are a little bit um both i think are probably a little bit of like stubborn personality types that eventually when they have a real disagreement it's going to blow up but maybe i'll be wrong i don't know yeah i i think they're going to be fine right now i think they're going to come together they're going to work together still um but if they keep butting heads is when they'll eventually start targeting each other if they can't see eye to eye but i think they're going to be fine i think they're going to start seeing eye to eye and and be good um coach do you take the layup or do you shoot the three-pointer here i mean it's early days so you just take the layup in my opinion but i think you know riley hits a good point about them setting this up for later and you know some deep betrayal that's going to happen or some people that are navigating through you know voting together and then voting separate i think that might be the bigger picture here i think you take the layup i actually i'm going to go back and watch this as i was watching it it's going to be one of the one of the few tribal councils that i go back and watch again because i just want to see like some if i can pick up some of the subtleties that are going on behind the scenes yeah it did seem like and you get this at in tribal council and the hard part about deciphering it in real time in person is that the tribal council is two hours long and there's so much more conversation happening and then they pick and choose the things to throw in the tv show that make it look like a battle of passive aggressiveness or hinting at people when there's so much being said that it's way harder to decipher as a player than what they're actually showing here like the viewer you're looking at you're like oh or he's you know on sharanda sharanda's on ori they're trying to hint at each other what they're doing without being blatant about it which is probably true anna kind of picking up on it but not really doing anything doesn't play her shot in the dark it's still just a hodgepodge of like so much information and misinformation and non-information and people trying to you know use whatever uh stories they can think of and you know what they're trying to do and i think that's what they're trying to do because i think that's what they're trying to do and i think that's what It's too much. So, like, you can't ever hold it against somebody for not picking up the hint at Tribal Council, I don't think, because Jeff purposely masks what he knows is going to happen because of what is relayed to him from the days of notes that producers give to him. So, Rob, again, like, we have to touch on this one more time. Has Rob seen every season of Survivor? like that's because like one of the cardinal things is you cannot write your own name down on parchment yeah was he one of our yeah uh i thought he was like a big fan he was like a lifelong fan he wanted to be on it when he was early uh in his life and then he his kids said he couldn't do it and then he was like yeah i can't and then he almost quit today which would have been different signal for his kids yeah yeah which is also okay like a lot of people harass quitters and they're like ah but until you get out there it's you don't know the full nature of the beast um do you think that maybe he got his signals crossed when it came to the open era being Maybe they keep telling them that, but then they're, they're also like, it's also, it's your game. It's your game. You can't do that though. You can't do that. So maybe he just got his signals crossed on what kind of open game this is going to be. Yeah. So they were like, anything goes now. You can do whatever you want except for that. Yeah. Not that though. And except for that. Yeah. No, no, not that. It could be, that could be because you would like, if Jeff were in the opening, we're like, this is your game. You can do with it what you want. There are no rules this season. I'm definitely trying to push the boundaries, you know, like, Oh, well then, why is there still a tribe boundary here that says I can't go beyond that? I'm going to go beyond it. Like, yeah. Wouldn't you ask first, like, if you knew that in the past, this is the rule you can't vote for yourself. Wouldn't you in like a confessional ask one of the producers, Hey, I traveled tonight. Am I allowed to write my own name down? This season? Cause it's the open era. Well, he tried to hide it from producers. Yeah. But sometimes, yeah. Oh, cause production asked him, we got a couple fourth wall breaks. We got one fourth wall break being like, what are you going to do tonight? And he's like, you never know anything goes, you know, like I don't even know. And then you get him writing his own name down. And then producer being like, Hey, you can't actually write your own name down. And he's like, Oh, that screws everything up. Yep. So you're planning to like hat play with no rules only to then be told that there's rules. It's a, it's tricky Riley because sometimes I do believe if it's going to make good enough TV, they'll allow it. Like this was a moment, like I wonder if they went to Jeff real quick or to Matt real quick and we're like, Hey, can you, can he do this? Can you write his own name down? It's the new, it's the open era. Or if they just like shut it down without even questioning. I think they had to shut it down without even questioning that it'd be wild to change that rule and not tell people. Right. Like that's just so. If you're telling everybody that there's no rules this season. But I think production for sure. I think production let them do it for sure. Right. I mean, they look, they're, they're always looking for exciting new content, you know, it's something that's outside the box. So I, to me, I could see him saying, can I write my own name down? And, and the producer going, you know, kind of like a noncommittal answer and then causing that to happen to add Just a little bit more WP. And then he writes it down and they're like, you can't, you know, try it and see, try it and see, you got to try it and see. Yeah. You can always try it. Like maybe, maybe he, maybe he got encouraged to do it a little bit. But it wouldn't have changed the outcome. Do you think that Rob is feeling extra small after thinking you had this great plan in place that was going to save Eric, only to find out that Eric was safe all along anyways? Yeah. I don't know what he's going to tell people back at camp. Cause Eric's obviously still in the game. I'm going to tell people, Hey, this is what Rob told me. Yeah. You know, I, whatever he told me as an idol, whatever. Cause Eric's got no reason. Yeah. And like Rob ended up voting for Eric. So Eric's, you know, has no reason to keep that secret. He's going to spill the beans. And who was blindsided that, that episode? It was Carter and Rob were on the outs, right? They were the ones that were like, Oh, it's not Eric with an a that's going home. Well, yeah. Or he also voted for Eric, but he knew that Anna was in the mix. Yeah. I think Rob is the most fine to everyone. Rob had like no clue at all. And did Carter have a clue? I don't think Carter had a clue either. I don't think they let Carter know. I don't know. Carter was still trying to figure out how to outsmart the crabs. They don't. I don't think he's going to be able to do that. And then take over the human race. AI isn't the threat. It's the crabs. It's the crabs. I'm just thinking about crabs and how you spell it right. I can't wait for next episode. But it will be really, I'm actually excited to see next week's episode when they come back to camp. And then like, he's got to like, you know, he's got to like have an accounting for himself. People are going to be like, so Rob, what the hell was that? Do you think he's spiraling more next episode? Is he in a deeper spiral? How long is it? Let me ask you this. How long is it from when tribal council concludes to when you actually get back on that beach? Because aren't you like on the boat or whatever for like a little while? I'm not allowed to talk. Yeah, 30 to 40 minutes. Yeah. Could be an hour or something like that. In Fiji, I think it's a long 30 to 40 minutes for Rob, I think. Yeah. In Fiji, I think it's like a 10 minute drive and like a 40 minute boat ride or something. And then Rob's just constantly thinking about how to not blow up his own game. And then he will immediately blow up his own game when he gets back to camp. 100%. Yep. He's just going to have to burn the idol now, I think. I agree. So, and this is why it is hard to keep the idol secret. It's just like so much fun to just like tell somebody and have that power and wield that power and information. And then miss. And misplay it completely. Okay. Riley, what do we got? Okay. Let's do our categories. Who advanced their game the most this episode? I think Pat. I think Pat has actually been pretty strong. I think the fact that like she got Jelly to share the idol with her and is helping Jelly form this core alliance of five people. Especially when you have. If you can hold Brady. Be in there as. And Devin. Like, you're not the target. You're not. From that alliance, you're not the target. But can they hold those guys together into something? I don't know. That's the risk. But I think Pat getting the information and feeling like making people trust her enough that Jelly like immediately comes to her with the idol. What do you got, Coach? I think I'm going to go back to. I'm going to go back to Alexis. Because I like the fact that she went behind and kind of navigated things. And she's not. Not the target. But she's kind of like orchestrating things behind the scenes. Yep. Yeah. I think so, too. I think. I think she was. I mean, Anna also knew the popcorn thing was a misfire. But Alexis immediately took that and ran with it and decided like she has to flip it right now. And did. Ashley? I was going to say Pat originally. But I also think that. Eric not listening to Rob at all, not doing anything he said was a really good move. Like now Rob looks like the crazy person at Tribal instead of Eric. So good job. In what world is. Are you doing what someone says when they're like, give me your shot in the dark. I'll give it back to you at Tribal. And if you do everything I say, you will be safe. Oh, and we've been allies the whole time. I'd be like. No. Then tell me the information. No, I will not. Then we're not allies? Like I thought we were allies. Now I have to prove my allegiance by dumbly and blindly following your orders? Absurd. An absurd demand. Riley, who you got? I'm going to say Linnea kind of similarly. She's the one who kind of sets into motion the Anna plan in a lot of ways. I mean, it comes out of a misunderstanding about what Carter is saying. About some crabs. Yeah. But it did. I like the way. It felt like she was building a bit of a good alliance and some good connections on her tribe. They're on to us. That should have been the title of the episode. They're on to us. Yeah. Not weaponizing honesty. Yeah. Weaponized honesty was not as inspired as they're on to us. Yeah, they're on to us. What else we got, Riley? Okay. Side, I think we might have a pretty clear answer here, but who damaged their game the most? Okay, on the count of three, everyone say Rob. Yeah, I mean. Anybody else deferring from Rob? Is there a different answer than Rob? I do not have a different answer. Coach? You guys know there are these chickens that are called Rhode Island Reds. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? No, but it's a species of chicken or not? Are they delicious? Yeah. So it's just like. I mean, they are delicious, but my father used to raise chickens, and he would always tell me about the Rhode Island Reds. The Rhode Island Reds were the ones with the deep red color, but they were the ones that would walk around like a chicken with their head cut off. They would be walking around always going and. With their heads still on? And stumbling around with their heads still on, yes. I'm sorry. I'm thinking about a bunch of stories my dad used to tell me. Anyway, so the Rhode Island Red, I mean, can we call them. Rhode Island? Yeah, Rhode Island Rob. Rhode Island Rob. Yeah, absolutely. He's Rhode Island Rob. Okay, well, that was easy. Okay, let's do winner picks. Coach, who you got as your winner pick for the season based off of the two episodes you've seen? I'll say. How about Devin? Devin. Okay. The weaponized honesty. He was cooking in that challenge, man. If you see him in the challenge when they were blindfolded, he was cooking, man. He was communicating. He was. It was cool. I was just. So that'll be my pick for now. He's very good. And I do believe he was the star of episode one for good and bad. But I think he stepped straight into the forefront immediately, which usually is a sign of flaming out at some point. But currently, he's definitely one of the guys in the driver's seat that could shift here with Pat and Jelly being the core and having. An idol between them. So. Ashley? Mm-hmm. So last week, I said Jelly. And the only reason I'm not going to say Jelly this week is because she told Pat about her idol, which scares me. And she definitely shouldn't have done that. Yeah, I don't know what that was about. But I like. I'm going to go back to Sharonda. I think she did a really good job getting her name out of the way, even though she was like. She was very talkative on the tribe when it came to who should be going. And also, everyone trusts her. And she just. I don't know. I like Sharonda. I have liked Sharonda from the very beginning. And I just go between Jelly and Sharonda. And it's interesting. It's going to be very fun to see how both sides of the helicopter alliance go with how they vote. Because Jelly and Devin voted together. And that seems to have worked out really well, even though now their alliance is probably very blatant. But Sharonda and Ori didn't vote together. So how's that? How's that going to work out? Were they just pretending to not be together? Are they still together? I don't know. But I'm really into it. So Sharonda is my pick. Is the helicopter alliance still a thing even? Who even knows? That is the biggest question. I don't know if you heard about it this episode. We did hear Ori and Sharonda were each other's number ones. So there is still something there. But who knows? I think we'll get a mention of it later in the season in some capacity. But it might be. Accusatory as people are like, you went against the helicopter thing. But who knows? Riley, are you right or dying with who you had last week? Or are you switching it up? Oh, I'm sticking with Sharonda 100%. Because also too, so agree with everything you're saying, Ashley, like the connections she's making. And yeah, she did talk a lot too. But she was also the one, she was the first person in this episode to say, I want Anna out. And at first she was like, it was kind of like, I don't know. Kind of like, oh, I don't really think I'm gonna be able to make this. this happen you know it'd be too aggressive to try and get those votes and then once kind of the opportunity got presented you know she wasn't necessarily driving the vote but was definitely enthusiastic about making that happen but it's like notable i think if you're reading like the edit a little bit which the edit can be super misleading especially in the 90 minute era but it's like oh she was this is kind of like her getting her way on this vote which is a a good sign for her going forward i think um yeah i just i connect with her really well i think she's super smart and personable and not like too much a lot of the personalities here are really really big um she's not one of those and so um i'm rooting for her too yeah i think uh she also had a good perspective of like being super annoyed with eric but yeah and keeping her mouth shut which are totally me too i think this is probably why i'm drawing her i would just be like oh like don't don't roll those eyes don't like yeah and then totally me and then going and voting out anna even though she feels that way about eric so i think like yeah sometimes you do have to step away and be like who i really want gone is not who needs to be gone um so i do like that i'll stick with kristin then i do like pat like if we were switching it up every week on purpose and just like choosing episode per episode i might shift over to pat a little bit but still too early to tell anyways uh kristin pick and stick yeah pick and stick kristin uh we talked about kristin yeah we didn't talk about this we did what happened wait she crunched it in the challenge a little bit got it caught in the net and fell on it and she said she heard popping in her foot which could be ligaments or bones i think generally coach you had a lot of injuries if your foot is popping like that and stuff would the hospital do anything anyway or would they just be like oh fun fact i still have a broken i i still have i still have a broken bone tiny sliver in my ankle and torn ligaments in my left angle from jumping off a freaking platform in that zach brown challenge i've been to the doctor 10 times wow and they put they put a test they put a not a uh they put a steroid injection in there they it's freaking ridiculous it's still swollen yeah i mean there's nothing that ankle is very trickled because tricky because it has um so many different bones in there uh it's very hard to to work on i'm literally still going to doctors trying to get it figured out what they're going to do one of the times they said they could shave down the bone to the fracture but that's like a major surgery so i'm not opting to do that they suggested that we put uh platelets in there anyway so yeah i mean there's nothing you can do about it in any way but i thought about that when she when she crunched her ankle kristin's hurt foot i think as long as it's not fully debilitating like we'll know next episode if it swells up gigantic and it's something more severe but if it's just like a fracture or whatever uh even stretch ligaments she's got her little magic leaf man she's good the magic leaf for everything she didn't tell us what it was how are future players gonna know it does like what was it was like diarrhea and headaches and also your broken ankle everything dude it's the one trick doctors don't want you to do it right yeah she should bring some of that back with her yeah riley what else we got okay who's going home next week last one um go to you guys pick us off oh me okay rhode island rob i am i'm gonna go rhode island rob too i was thinking rob as well wow i was too i was like me you know me i feel like i'm going to go to rhode island rob too i'm going to go to rhode island rob too like normally it's something unexpected but it's hard to come back from what he did keep it simple you almost quit this episode he almost quit i think that's the the biggest question we should ask is who's going to get medevaced this season because i feel like everyone's slowly getting injured yeah yeah yeah well brady no he's pushing through every i think brady like if he keeps going like this careless trajectory of physicality like you just have to vote him out because you don't want to accidentally like get crushed by him during something the way he picked up kilby during the the challenge i was like holy crossing kilby around a little bit i was like if i were kilby i'd be like hey dude like that's that's a little too much yeah um last thing we had a listener uh tell us last week like and we just didn't even come up this time but how insulting is it coach if you go out there and everybody's like coach says he's a high school music teacher that's got to be a lie that's too boring of a job like you he has to be a lawyer like is that insulting as a wedding photographer to have everyone be like no that's too average of a thing for sure yeah i'm taking personal insult if somebody's like no no no too boring you are lying about it because you couldn't be out here what else we got do we have something else riley no that's everything that's it okay so go to coach's instagram to learn about his coach chi program 20 lucky people will be able to run through the uh coach chi untying knots in their head doing the meditation controlling the body and uh yeah what else you got coach anything else i'll tell you man you've been so good to me tyson from the very first day we did that hike in token jeans i've been i've been really lucky and blessed you know to to make a big splash and on survivor you know it seems every year there's things that go viral you know the haikus went went uh went off the nicknames you know i still have people i i like i'm not giving any more nicknames right i said this is it we're gonna run these 200 i just because people kept begging me i still have people asking for nicknames that's run its course i don't want to do that again uh but doing the coach i'm excited you know i'm doing the family stuff just like you um and you can see the wall behind me is all my kids artwork they they do something i take it to you know put it up on the wall um but just you know living day to day given uh giving my all to the music program and crushing the drum line we're going to go play uh i'm playing the national anthem on monday for the kings lakers game and my drum lines are going to go and accompany me uh but you know running a drum line at 70 kids is is uh is no mean feat so just you know just living in the moment man this is the golden chapter i will say this for everybody out there um there's going to come a time in your life i hope and pray that you can sit there and realize that this is your this is your golden decade and i know that i'm going to look back at this time my mom's out there right now you know uh playing piano for my choir she plays in my symphony she's 81 10 years from now you know she's Summary:

The transcript covers key moments from Survivor Season 51, focusing on strategic gameplay, player psychology, and production choices. A central issue is Rob’s attempt to write his name down during a tribal vote, which violates a longstanding rule and raises questions about whether the producers allowed such actions to create dramatic tension.
