up to a chairman statement, you could argue at that point, well, they didn't quite know what division we were going to be in. So was it right to wait until we knew Tottenham's status, whether they're going to be Premier League Championship? Tell us how you made that open letter, because I'm sure that all leading to your recent piece, you've also done. Yeah, it's an interesting one. I do feel it should have come the day before regardless. I don't think what was said in that letter should have been influenced by whether they went down or not because it was just horrendous either way. So I did think it was a bit strange that it wasn't in there. I also do kind of find it, it surprised me that it came from Peter Charrington rather than Vinay Venkateshim, I think as well. You know, Venkateshim has kind of been the face of the club in, you know, certainly this season. So I did, I didn't think it was a bit odd that came from Charrington who is in this kind of non-executive role, which isn't quite as hands on. Yes, he is involved in some big decisions and things like that, but I still kind of feel like, yeah, I expect it to come from Venkateshim. In terms of the content, but first off, it's always been my interest. I've got to stick to it. Communication. If there's a bit of communication, great. That's something that that's, you know, 24 years of Daniel Levy. Literally, that was pretty much all we got was the chair as a message and the thing with a financial result. So anything is a good thing. The content of it, I felt it was a little bit not me, Guff. I felt there was a lot of the ads, a previous bloke. We're fixing his mess. Oh, what I mess, he's left as kind of thing, which I thought a little bit. Look, there's definitely, of course, his elements of previous regime and the Levy that have kind of bled into what's happening. We can see again, to use a snowball about analogy things that have been building up and building up over time that haven't been addressed or fixed or done properly. Yes, they've caused some of the stuff. But to kind of just ignore the fact that the club have gone through four managers in the past year to not talk. I mean, there was no mention of Thomas Frank. There's no mention of Igor Tudor. There was no mention of the decisions that have been made within the club that have also contributed to this utterly awful season. So yeah, I think there were positives in there that there's a kind of a desire to push on. And I think that's the big thing I think I take away from that. And also just hearing things from the insiders, they realize what a cluster, let's say crap this season has been and how things have gone wrong and what they've done wrong in the past and what they really need to do going forward. I think elements of that letter reflect that. And I think, yeah, it's just about it's exactly what Vengateshams said in January. It's all about action, not words and fun enough after that letter or statement or address to the crowd that he did in January. I haven't really seen many actions. So we need to see that this summer because otherwise, I think that's their biggest thing that the Lewis family next generation, this new board, they've got to prove that it's just not more of the same. And you know, that's their biggest task ahead, I think. Thanks for the first time. It's just one of the actions rather than worth this point down there. And I think it was interesting what he said in the letter. It said the summer transfer window is the first step in that. But what about the January transfer window? You know, you guys are all at a place then. Just just one question on that. I think, you know, the biggest sort of area of interest, I think in this statement, from a lot of Spurs fans, seems to be a surrounding, you know, Vinay Venkatesh and Johan Langa, we've heard say have not gone down while the season was spurs fans. And I think, you know, lots of the decision making has to be questioned completely. And the January transfer window in particular, not least, you know, as we will get on to it in a much more detail shortly, Thomas Rang and equal true to all those things, which we've been over the time and time again in the season. Did you take anything from that statement surrounding their future? And sort of, do you think, I know it does mention sort of faith in the leadership group, I think is the terminology used. But do you think there was anything in there with sort of hints of how those two are going to end up or how those two are going to fare? Yeah. Well, I can talk to you a bit about my feelings on that and also kind of what I've heard over the last 24, 48 hours or so. I think there's two different sets of feeling here between the two different men that we're kind of probably talk about. Vinay Venkatesh and I don't think there's any kind of avoiding the fact that he has been involved in decisions that I'm not going to write. This season, absolutely. And I don't think there's any getting away from that. And I think there's definitely things that I'm sure he will regret over the course of season that he would have done differently. However, from what I understand from kind of inside the club and then people that kind of around the Lewis family and everything, there's a feeling that he was thrown into this new kind of existence in a way. You know, he was originally brought in by Daniel Levy with approval from those above as kind of like his right-hand man and maybe eventual successor. I don't think Vinay Venkatesh, I mean his wildest dreams, imagine a few months on. He would be taking over everything. He would essentially be handed the keys to the kingdom in a way. And I think what the feeling is within the club is that he's a guy that's been thrust into this situation. And he's not just taken over from a chairman that's been here a year or two. He's not just the next guy in this kind of rank of like the, you know, million head coaches we have at Tottenham. It's not been like that. He's replacing a guy who, I don't know if you can, I don't know, it sounds really bad. I'm describing this is not exactly what I mean, but like a puppet master in a way. Someone that has so many strings, Levy was so intrinsic to so many decisions at Tottenham. He had essentially kind of just embedded himself into the whole running of that football club. And you take him away and all those strings suddenly fall to the floor. And people are like, how long what is that lead? Well, who does that? What, what, what, what, what, but, but, but Daniel used to do that. And so Venkatesh and was walked not into a normal organization that he would any normal, and I don't know, let's say ahead of a business, a CEO would walk into. He's walked into something where people didn't really, respectfully know how to operate the business without Daniel leaving it. And so he's essentially spent a year playing catch up really. So why I think he has made mistakes. Absolutely. That's the feeling within that he is, yeah, he's had a pretty bruising first season, you know, as first seasons go, there's only one thing it could have been worse about it. Let's be honest, they could have gone down. But I think there's a feeling this is a guy who in every job he's been in, surrounds himself by football people. And I think that leaves me on to the next bit is that the football person he had, let's be honest, let him down. Obviously that the feeding out there with Johan is that, look, you could look at different situations by the fact that he leaves us to Villa. It was supposedly a bit of a part he really left apparently. That is obviously Villa, I've gone on to win a European trophy, their first trophy thing since the 90s. But obviously you know the frustration around spurs fans around Langer starts quite a way back. But I think one of the main reasons that frustration is there, of course, was the January transfer window. What was said in that January transfer window, I'm sorry to take everyone back to story time a little bit, but I'm just going to remind everybody what Johan Langer said at the time of the January transfer window. And then now can tell us what he has heard about Johan Langer and where this does leave his future at Tottenham, Oswell. Let's remind ourselves what Johan Langer told us about that January transfer window. It's very important that you don't, can you say, force yourself into mega stress purchase because that normally doesn't end well for anyone. Even though that our financial situation under the rules are better than, than most clubs and we have owners who are very willing to invest, then of course it is important that we are under those rules. So it's important that we sign the right players. I think also Thomas has been quite public around a couple of players that we did try to bring in in this window here, but it was definitely not because of lack of willingness for the club to make the investment to support the teams. Is it a case of their perhaps is not that many players of that level of quality that are available in this window or is it a case of wanting to ensure that it's a long-term strategy? No, I think it's a bit of both because we're very clear before the window that if there were players available that we were able to sign in this window that could help the team now, but of course also in the future, then we were ready, ready to go. But when you say, doing the window, you can see that some doors remain open, like for instance with with Connor, some other doors closest, then it's very important that you don't can you say force yourself into mega stress purchase because that normally doesn't end well for anyone. So that was Joe Hanlango there in the January transfer window, which I think to be fair at that time, there was a lot of anger and frustration, but I think it was, I mean, at least the second year in a row where Spurs had an injury ravaged squad in desperate need of help. I think it's fair to say the players were calling out for that as much as the fans were. It's a window that provided Connor Gallagher and of course, Suza, obviously this also was a window in between that there was a protest that also was taking place by change for top them. I just get your thoughts out when you look back at that and obviously bringing your peace into focus about Langar, what can you tell us for you in terms of what the future looks like for him? Yeah, yeah, honestly watching that back. You just it's one of those we just don't do it. Don't say it. Just don't talk about stress. I mean, yeah, there's been stress, not the stress that they were thinking out, honestly, so much of it. Yeah, I mean, Johan Langer, he is, how do I put this? I've always kind of felt this about him and it could be not being disrespectful, it's just my opinion. I think he's the kind of guy that I think is his data modeling, all of that. He's very respected in the way he goes about certain aspects of scouting and I'm covering kind of young.
players as well for football clubs, but I just wonder and I think it's maybe been born out this season whether he is a number one in that kind of sport or director thing. And I don't think it's any coincidence that you know back in what was it November or October November, they look to bring Parattachy and him as a joint force rather than just having him as the main man and look, no excuse no excuse in Fabio Parattachy as well, absolute disaster that was just never miss. Let's talk about him now in Italy, maybe going on to where you see Milan, it's just a few bounces around, doesn't he? But yeah, Johan Langer, so from what I kind of understand, talking a lot of people inside and outside the club, I get the feeling that there's the serious doubts about certainly his long-term future, it's on I think is the best way to put it. They're looking for, from what I've been told, a world-class sporting director to come in. They want someone to fill the Parattachy void and someone that like I've just said is is a real lead, a someone that can really push on the club to, well, back to where they were at least and also new heights. So I think for Johan Langer, I pretty certain that if he doesn't leave this summer, then I think he will be either involved in like a hand overroll with a new person or maybe at best, like a, I don't want it, it's awful to say assistant, the regional manager kind of thing, but you know, he could be that guy that supports him. Like I said, there's elements to what he does and some of the young players, the young covers that are great, but you know, we look at players like coach Decai and Jan Mignouc that are just, are they ever going to play for Tottenham? You know, it's, and there's no getting away from him in his two full seasons at Tottenham. They finish 17th in both seasons. So there's, there's very little to kind of pushing forward as a main candidate to be the main sporting director guy at Tottenham. And from what I understand, you know, there's got to be someone, and I'd never ever want to see someone lose their job. That's just not my way of doing things, but someone in the club and the way Tottenham work, that someone's going to have to carry the can for this season. And if it is him being pushed or marginalised into another role, maybe that's it. But yeah, it's just been an unmitigated disaster, really this season. Unfortunately, in a club that needed with new people coming in, look, Lewis family, the new people taking, they're not football people. They're not going to know what they're kind of getting into. They're kind of take advice from the football people. And unfortunately, the football person has been young and Langer and decisions he's made, whether that's helping or being part of the team that brought in Thomas Frank, who we used to work with many years before, whether that is approving Egor Tudor coming in. There's some suggestions that perhaps Paratagy had a hand in that as well, or was a suggestion from the past. And ultimately, it just hasn't worked. So I think Johan Langer will be the one that will be pushed aside. And then I think Titian will be kind of trusted to listen to a different guiding voice. In terms of a well-class sport and directories, are there some that you expect them to move on very quickly? Because I know we've got the World Cup coming up. I think the transfer when the opens in the middle of June, I believe, which probably is going to come very quickly. I know that there have been links to Sebastian Kale, of Dortmund and Friedman, of Formula of Palace and now in Saudi Arabia. Do you expect them to make this big hire very quickly? Or do you think they'll take their time? I mean, I'm sure I speak for all fans, or there's the timers of the essence of these kind of things. But how do you expect that to go? In an ideal world, they do it quickly because Derserbius said this week is crucial itself in starting to set up the transfers for the summer to come and you made it very clear. Yeah, he is such a kind of like a weird, even more passionate version of content in the way he talks about stuff. So him kind of essentially declaring, I want to start pre-season with this dream team. I've got him fined. Is that it puts so much pressure on them to do it? Which is not a bad thing because I think every club needs a kind of rocket up their backside as well. So yes, in an ideal world, they get someone in as quickly as possible. So then I guess the other side of it is they want to get the right person in and they want to get someone that is there for the long term future, not three months, didn't like Fabio. And they want to get it right. So that's kind of why I think I'm leaning more towards Langa being there as this like kind of holdover, hangover, which maybe is the right word, to get a set up, what's the come. And then this new person comes in. I mean, Trigg, see if it's it's Keel or not. I know he's very much been someone they've looked at. But would he be the world class person I keep getting told I'm not in touch or certainly people at Dortmund would kind of object to that terminology. But yeah, we'll see, but they need to move quickly regardless of who's there. They just got to push and I've got to push harder and they have in the past they've got to pay bigger wages, they've got to pay out the money that gets these players. I mean, how sick are we talking about, you know, oh yeah, we tried for some in and players like that. And all these players that they talk about missing out on, they had earlier opportunities to get them. I didn't get them. Yeah, I just love those. It's a very close to Sunday where he said it's now seven o'clock, eight o'clock and nine o'clock. We start working on next season already. I think that sums up the man's donated that we need at this football club, isn't it? And then what do you say? Lock it up. Lock it that we've all needed. Yeah, well, I can tell you my wife was probably the only one that didn't enjoy those comments. She thought, "Oh my god, what does that mean? We're starting already these guys first shows." Just out of one final thing before we look, we've got so much to discuss with you and we do need to move on from it, but in typical Tottenham Fashioness, it feels like there's so much to cover. Obviously in that challenge and statement, it was made abundantly clear. Tottenham HotSpur is not for sale. I mean, it's been kind of, listen, the last 12-18 months, it feels there's been definite expressions of interest for the football club. Is it a case in your opinion? Do you think they're holding out for the right price or are you going to give us a lot of sadness for Tottenham Fashioness that you do think these guys are probably here to stay long term? Do you have a gut feeling on that? Have you engaged from who you speak to externally internally at all? Well, if I go from what I kind of hear, is that they're staying around. And there is a, well, there certainly has been expressed to be by numerous people that there is a feeling of trying to fix the mistakes at the past. We'll see. And yeah, there's been three different expressions of interest over last year or so that they've kind of swatted away and never really came to anything because they were very clear and that they didn't want to sell. Certainly for the foreseeable future, it looks like they're going to take it on and again, that just can't keep but coming round to this same thing. It's the proofs in the pudding. It's like you've got to go out there and an auditorium can generally, it's like, okay, it's a January window. It's difficult. The summer's going to be the one where you'll see this kind of new way of working. And it's like, we need to see it. Otherwise, it is just more of the same. And obviously there will continue to continue to be kind of under the the enic banner that is, you know, fans are protested about over so many years. And if they don't bring something different to the table, I can't see how they separate themselves from that. And look, even if you're looking at it from a financial point of view, the product of Tottenham Holtzbo was utterly awful with suit. You won't even have it in the reduced section of a shop. Let alone put it in like a pricey area and in harrods or whatever. So even if they're going to look at it financially, they need to make pump up this turkey big time. But I generally, everything I'm hearing is it is more about, I guess it's a family legacy, I suppose, isn't it? This is something they've had in the family for a quarter of a century or so. And they've never really gone anywhere with it. And hopefully this newer generation, I think, you know, Nick Buchers, the main guy driving it as the the sun in law of Vivian Lewis, they've got to have something that they're proud of as well. I hope and hopefully this summer will show us because if not, the just the noise is going to get even bigger around them. Yeah, just on charrington before we do go for this quick break that we need to go on out that there were been some suggestions out there. You can confirm with an eyes or you've heard similar at all. I've been crazy. The non-executotler apparently did not know how many players were on a football team when he first took up the post. And in many respects, it had been the blind, lean, the blind. I mean, have you anything similar about charrington, not even the enemy players were formulated in a football team? I don't know if I go as far as say that. I don't, I genuinely don't know. I know that his background has not been in, you know, he's not a football man. As many of the people at the top are not. What I would say, one thing I'd say in his favour, and I haven't actually written this anywhere yet, I think from what I hear, he was quite, he played quite a big role in pushing through the deservedly appointment from what I understand. So that is one thing, you know, if people are going to kind of mock him for any perceived or claimed lack of football knowledge, from what I understand, he did play quite a decent role at the end of things in making sure that went through. So look, if he's in a position where he does more of that going forward, then that can only be a good thing. And even if, you know, he thinks his 16 players on a team or whatever, as long as he creates a successful team, that's probably all we care about. Oh man, look, we are going to go for a break of this show, we are going to need to turbo charge a second half, because it's an half an hour already on the Lewis family. You've got to what comes next in terms of the next three managers we've got to discuss. [INAUDIBLE]

Obviously, as always, in football hindsight is 2020. But I just wondered how. You know, you obviously would have been in that press conference. You would have been in the early Thomas Press Comments. Obviously, the famous quote that we all know and love at this point is. I guarantee you one thing we will lose games. I just wonder. In the early days of his tenure, we know that it didn't. until that's been a disaster. Did you get a sense of how Thomas Frank was sort of fitting into the club at Tottenham? Did it. with the early warning signs? What did you think he was doing? Okay, it's start. From those first pressors, because obviously, you know. as somebody covers Spurs. must do more first manager press conferences than any other journalist. So. What were your early impressions of Thomas Frank like? What did you also do you think when he said, "I guarantee you we will lose games?" When he said that, I remember just going. "Oh, kind of like one of the times she's close to you." I said, "Oh, why did you say that?" I remember asking him towards the end of his time, whether he regretted it and he didn't regret it once. A little bit. Yeah, Thomas Frank, he's an interesting one. I mean, what I would say is. I mean, it's this summer, it'll be 10 years covering the club. I have no idea how I've survived. And I know why this beard is now as white as it is. But what I have seen is. the amount of times a new manager comes in. and suddenly everything's different. And it's better than it was before and all this sort of stuff. So I think with Thomas Frank, there was that. everyone really liked him at the start. And the way he went about things a lot of people liked. I think he did have a strange style. which to be fair, fair few managers have. where he would mainly speak to a core group of players. and there were certain players. Some of the younger players as well. like the club highly rated that he didn't really talk too much. and they weren't even sure if they were part of his plans and things like that. So there was that aspect. But what I would say is such a cliche. but we do get to know these managers a little bit better. than the fans do. We spend so much time with them. and I went out on his first summer tour last year. and spoke to him. We had a good hour or so. hour and a half in the heat of Korea. sitting kind of on top of this bar. chatting away with Thomas Frank. And as a person. he is the loveliest guy. And I'm sorry, I know that's such a cliche. and the fans are hating one one of you here. I don't care if he's just a nice guy. And I get it, I get it. But you do have that little bit more of a. I think when the fans utterly turned against him. there was a bit of me like. some of the other managers, something of that. are to. whatever you want to call them. This guy is actually a really decent human being. and he got more kind of. vitriol and hate from the fans. and probably any of the other ones had seen before. in my time covering the club. So I did feel sorry for him that respect. and he was like within the club. I think just. as time wore on, I think people realized. it just wasn't a big club manager. And it's such a shame for him. that everyone expected he was going to make that jump up. You know, was it Chelsea United clubs like that? Looked at him, interviewed him and everything. and it just didn't work. Look, I fully appreciate Spurser and Basket Case of a club. where a manager to come in. I think they're going to suddenly step up. It's like, you know, human resources nightmare. probably walking into a club like that. and having a deal with everything that's going on there. But he just never really seemed equipped. to bring a big manager, big club mentality. and you saw that in the press conferences. talking about losing. You were replacing a manager who said, "I'm going to win." You don't come in and your first aspect. your angle is we're going to lose matches. and then the whole Arsenal connection. was just dreadful. It's like, stop talking about that. I mean, even worse about the Arsenal connection. about from what we hear about. He's talking about them. I mean, he even held an Arsenal cup. I mean, how did this happen? Tell me what you thought. I suppose he was your colleague, Jay Harris. So I think Jay didn't even say to me. even he couldn't believe it. I think he had to go and check it wasn't at the time. I mean, how does that happen? How does that happen? I'm conducting investigations. whether Jay actually handed in the cup myself. But honestly, it was the worst possible. thing looking at happened to him. On that day, it was just. someone sent it to me, like from my news desk. and I was like, "No, it's just someone's Photoshop there." And I was like, "That's stupid." And then I looked on, I think it was getty images. where we get our photos and I, "Oh, no!" He actually did it. And there was that image of the analyst. as Joan Utan. - That's right. -. the book that I placed. From what I understand, that wasn't related. He hadn't seen it, but the way it worked frames was just. it's just another ridiculous moment of this season. So, yeah, he just never really escaped. I think the Brentford bubble. of the fact of being at this really stable, smaller club. that was punching above its weight. and coming into this scenario. he just never really learned how to deal with it. And I also think. probably the players as well. I don't think he ever truly got their respect. and, you know, I don't know. there was a big process in selecting. and, you know, these different criteria. that they were meant to pick their manager. I have no idea where they thought he'd tick so many of those boxes. because he just didn't. he was just not a top-not-manager. Oh, yeah, I know. We're not gonna do our too long on Thomas Frank. I know fans that are missing him will be delighted. to be able to watch him on the World Cup on ITV as well. Oh, yeah, it's coming. We got him on one side and. He'll do it the other. Yeah, I know which one I'm choosing, put it that way. Just on that. on your mentioned, how he didn't connect with his first fans. and I know this. just became a topic of season, particularly in the run. and I have to say, obviously, you know, we've seen the scenes. that have happened to answer the stadium. and sort of inside the stadium and the away ends and stuff like that. Do you think he made a mistake in sort of. allowing sort of. thing to develop with his. obviously, he spoke about true fans and the booing. and then he said, "No, two trots, fans have never do this. and the booing became a big thing. and then, you know, players were walking off together. and all that kind of stuff." Do you think his failure to get a handle on that. really was sort of a big catalyst. and it'd not been able to quite get that connection with the fans? And we've seen very quickly. I mean, the word "desurbia" has got it like that. Do you think you've just sort of never the right fit for spurs fans? Yeah, it's difficult. I think with Thomas Frank, he chose the players over the fans. So the Vakaria moment, he backed his player rather than what the fans were doing to him. and look, I didn't particularly agree with what the fans did for Gario either. I'm not a huge one for booing players in-game. and then kind of target him because I don't think it has any positive repercussions. I think it's only can be a negative thing. I don't get me wrong. I get what a frustration came from. but there was also certainly a part of the season where. Tämä on niin, että se on tullut kenttiedä. Tämä on tullut kenttiedä.
because the crowd were on them in seconds and they just didn't feel like they're ever really given any leeway. But also you can completely understand that you're essentially in a theatre and those people are paying for their tickets. They are paying to be entertained. They're paying for players to be better than they were as well. And I think the Vicaria moment just created this big old kind of chasm between the fans and the players. And I think Thomas Frank had to pick a side and he picked the players side and it just totally eroded that fan relationship with him. And if anything that was one of Venkateshima and Langa's biggest kind of mistakes this season was sticking with him so long. The indecision, the trying to not fall into the trap of constantly, that's the irony isn't it? They've tried to not just be part of the, we just sack managers here at Tottenham. And then I've had a year where four of them have come through the club and yeah it was I think two ways of doing it. They either kept Frank to the end of the season. I don't think Spurs would have gone down because I think he just would have shot up shop and played boring football and got them through. Or the one that probably was the better option was just to kind of let him go earlier than they did and make him a stronger change. But yeah, I did feel for him because he picked a side and unfortunately it was the wrong one. And obviously in between, obviously Frank being here we had that situation as you kind of were referring to a little bit Ali with regards to Van De Ven and Spent, spanking it, blanking it at Chelsea which I think was, I think it was difficult for everybody on that day. I mean I don't even, if you go to, you look back now and reflection now, is that kind of a point where you look and think that was kind of the downfall from their onwards. I mean when you losing respect to the players on the field of plan fans can see that. I mean the next day you heard they're in there, apologising, it did feel like from there there was no point to return. Yeah, yeah, it was it was a terrible look and yeah, that's the problem. He was inheriting weirdly and it's still so strange to say it now. Squad of winners, they just won a trophy and it was like a lot of them probably got a little bit too big for their boots as well. I would imagine there's a little element of that and I think it was a culture shock what's kind of happened this season. And they've gone from a manager in Andrew Porskoggo, who's probably a little bit like Deserbidass has built in them up to him how great they are. Brilliant. You're wonderful. Keep doing this. Go on lads and they've gone for someone like Thomas Frank who's more of a real listener has probably given them a couple of home truths and they just, I don't want to hear this. So I do feel like while he was not the right man for spurs, I do feel like the players also will have had a big up wake up this call, wake up call this season. In the way they react to situations and the way they react to managers and and yeah, just I guess some egos in there as well. Obviously, we did also see in that, obviously Frank's was the end of the rain. We had a spell of Johnny Hightinger in which I think was adding an element more of computers to whoever Hightinger was going to get the job on a more of a permanent base at Frank had gone but obviously he also went with Frank and then enter. Igor Tudor for a 44 day rain. Let's give ourselves a reminder of what life was like under Igor Tudor. This also feels like a long, long time ago. Let's remind ourselves if we can. Amazing situation. Amazing. Don't think it's not about me. Where is the goal of this club? Future is just imagination. Me personally and everyone like to not accept the situation. We are lack of the quality to score the goal. We are lacking the middle to run and we are like behind to stay there and suffer and not to see the goal. I cannot, but I cannot come to hear this casket like we are in the bar. I want to explain you what I can tell you, what I want to tell you. Don't insist that I want one to go on the details about what because it's not correct from your side and this is not place to speak in that way. That can be the problem more than all these things about Tottenham club, you know, like a magic on the club like a black magic and this other b****. So this is about what I want to send a message. Absolutely. I mean, just this season we've just gone through. What the hell, what the hell have we gone through? I just remember Bill doing that toxic top, the one tick top. I don't even believe the amount of content he had weekly was unbelievable. I just kind of say I do also feel for you and all the journalists. I mean, it must have been like working overtime, double time, triple time in regards to what I've gone on this season. You've got to Disneyland still somehow in the way of it, but like just a mental mental season, right? Bill, I'll hand back over to you. Yeah, I just wondered with your sort of your fan hat on rather than your journalist hat on. Obviously, I imagine the answer is somewhere between the two segments of Thomas Frank and Egor Tudor. When did you sort of start to get the sense as we all did at some point that relegation wasn't just sort of a thing that, you know, we were fearing, but some of the reality that could actually happen because for me that happened well into Thomas Frank's reign. And I think they pulled the trigger well too late and then ended up getting worse under Egor Tudor even, but you know, as a fan covering Spurs, when did you actually think, oh my God, we could actually go down? When do you remember thinking that for the very first time and actually actually thinking this could actually be a possibility? Oh, that's a great question. What's a question? What a question? Yeah, not during Thomas Frank's reign. I must admit, like I said, I kind of still have this funny feeling if he'd stayed to the end of the season then when I think they would have been okay. I probably ended up fulking 15th and like that, but I don't feel that I was worried at that time. I think as Egor Tudor's run went on, that's when I was like, oh man, they're not not even looking at the scoring goals. That was the problem. It was like, they just weren't, they were conceding like mad, they weren't scoring them. Yeah, I think it was probably during that point, but Egor. Egor, I mean, it was a race, wasn't it really between him, Johnny Hyatt and going Fabio Pratchy, who lasted the least amount of time at the club. I just got to say very quickly on Egor, press conferences were fun. They were so much better than Thomas Frank's. He could have gone anywhere with any answer. He was not, he knew he was interim, didn't give a crap about what anyone wanted him to say, and say he could go in any direction. So that was actually probably the most fun part about it all. I honestly, this incredible. I just, I mean, even during that time there, I mean, there was that thing earlier. I did hear some people say that we had been, I mean, the running stats went up under Egor. Didn't there think in the first few games, but I just remember that Arsenal game of losing, of course, at home severely. And then I mean, there was a couple of, yeah, crazy moments. Obviously, I waited for them to the VAR decision that we never quite got. And then you look at the palace game we had where Mickey pulled back the player at the time. I mean, we, I know we got the point at Liverpool, but you know, again, it's easy to look at in hindsight, but I mean, why did we do this? Why did we do it? Because he was had no Premier League experience. Yes, I was here as a player. He's, I think very much we know and across the European scene, but looking back, I mean, did we just waste a huge amount of time? Because I think you were putting us as well that I think Frank can deserve me, respectively left their clubs on the same day, which probably made a move for the Derby very difficult to do, but I mean, at the time of Tudor, was it just a case that everyone was looking at thinking, I'm not sure I want to go into Tottenham because I mean, it was didn't talk that about bringing a legend if you remember at the time. Yeah, yeah, there was so many options, honestly, every single day I was hearing of a different combo, you know, we even had been there, you was thrown into the mix at one point. Yeah, I mean, Tim Schurard, I mean, crikey, you know, just just Williams in the mix at one point. Yeah, I mean, some of my names were just incredible. Yeah, look, I understood some of the logic behind he got shooter that was behind it in that he was a firefighter at previous clubs. I got that, you know, he had gone in and an instant impact saved quite a few clubs from either the location or pushed him into Champions League spots, but yes, the key to it all was all in Italy, you know, it was in a very different bubble, a different culture of football. And he just came in and the look on his face, pretty much a wolf in you could see with eyes, oh my word, this was not what. And he said himself it was bigger than any other thing he's had to deal with any other club and you know, got it in Schurard's eventus and you know, not small club and to come in and see the utter mess he was taking on. And yes, he did run the players probably too hard, you know, that this was a period of season where they were combining Champions League matches as well and they've got injury issues and everything and I have no doubt that they probably contribute some of the issues as well. I don't think he spoke to him in the best way. I've spoke earlier about people kind of talking about some people being a bit real with him and I think he went to the other extreme. Some of the people around the players kind of suggested he was just kind of spun quite unpleasant way to some of them and that's just here, not going to motivate players who don't even know who you are probably. That's why you've got someone like Deserby who he's ended this season very much and you guys are great kind of you can be wonderful remember how good you are but I can guarantee you the deserving of next season is not the same deserve it's going to be somewhere in the middle where he like do what I say or get out kind of thing but he will also give him that in a conference if they play for him. And he was a tutor he just he wasn't that guy and obviously a terrible awful shame what happened at the end with his dad and everything and then I'm not kind of he did actually come back I think for a couple days and work with the team and then it was kind of it just it just ended but
But yeah, there was no chance of getting deserving from what I was told when he joined because of the timing of it all. But eventually, look, the long-term viewers, you look at it, maybe you go through all the pain to get to a point where you've got deserving and they have a much better season. Maybe if they move for someone before, to do it, or they move for someone earlier with Frank, maybe you don't end up with deserving and it could have been someone that maybe doesn't have a big success. But we don't have the future still unknown. It's Tottenham, anything can happen. We're both fans of the comic book movies and obviously sitting up the end there, a big storyline under what ended up to be a big plot twist in the end, actually. I just wanted it was like to cover that in my dread with Kinski because that was obviously a huge point for the season. I'm a really difficult experience to watch as fans and seeing that kind of thing happen. To your football team, a disaster and like that, and a personal disaster, he had to get substituted there. I just wondered what your thoughts were covering that as a journalist. Obviously, we know how it ended now. It ended up in a fantastic way, but I just wondered at the time what that came in particular, because that was probably the high point, the low point of the ego-truid of era. But I just wondered what that was like to cover, seeing that, what happened to Kinski on that night. Yeah, it was horrible. It was where this kind of high position, the Muttra Bullittano, looking down and there's just an element of shock to it, I think, to begin with. When you see the first one, where he miskicks and you're like, "Oh no, oh no, you're champion's league proper day." That's awful. Then the next one rattles in, then he kind of makes that horrendous, "Oh, it's just slipping really, isn't it?" It was awful. Then to be fair in the moment, I think a lot of us expected him to be subbed. I don't think we were shocked that he came off, but I think there's the realisation as he trudges off. "Oh, what's this going to do to the kid?" I know, 22-23 years old, and you just felt for him. Actually, I think I kind of got the impression that that was the point when the players kind of had had enough. I think they didn't like the way that was dealt with, especially now we know that Bikari I had that issue, the hernia issue, that was going to need to be sorted anyway. This was the guy that he was, if Tudor had stayed, he was going to have to rely on. It was a dreadful way. I think you look at the Kinski quotes that came out a month or so later when he came back and then made that fabulous saving as walls. He hurt him a lot. It did, but the brilliant thing about it, and it is the classic case of turning a negative into a positive, it probably was the thing that's ended up making his career in a weird way. It's probably psychologically has stealed him into, well, nothing's going to be worse than that moment in football because it was the utter nadeer, the bottom of what you could feel in that moment. He has responded magnificently to put a lot of opinions back down people's strokes, including my own. I thought that was probably it for his spurs career. Now you look back and you think, "What is spurs it wound into West Ham?" "Oh my God, what would have happened?" He could have ended up keeping them up, and someone like Paul Brandenostin would have had to kind of been thrown in with less experience. You don't know whether it would have gone the same way, and Fair Playton, Kinski has been absolutely amazing, and he is an amazing character. You took to anyone in that club, and I know it's a cliche, but he is the guy that comes in first. He is the guy that's there at the end. He's got such a great relationship with Dean Brill and Fabian Otr the goalkeeper coaches. After matches, he's out there. We see him all the time while we're doing our post-match work. It's going through drills, doing everything when he's not playing. He is an incredible guy. I'm fascinated to see whether he ends up becoming spurs number one, because he's given himself a great shout to do so. Just how funny, so that. I found it fascinating. There was an interview after I think with NBC where Kinski was talking about just like you said, the influence of the goalkeeping coach. I thought it was actually quite interesting there, is he was asked about the support they had from Vicario, and he was tried to navigate himself out of having to discuss that. He mentioned Austin. He mentioned the interview. He's out of the Austin, the English of Austin, the goalkeeping coach. I thought it was quite an interesting interview there. I just say on that, I think he's just really keen to push out Brill and Otr as the two guys that have been there for him. I don't think that goalkeeping group is a pretty tight-knit group. I don't think he was being disrespectful with Vicario because Vicario spoken to after the game on Sunday and he said that when he came in, he asked his advice over whether Kinski is ready. He said, I know this kid. He's already put it out of his mind. He is there for you. So Vicario has been a big supporter of Kinski as well. We saw him. We're looking down at him on the touch line as Kinski is coming out to punch a corner across away. Then obviously that incredible save from Torek George. At the end, Vicario has gone absolutely mad. He is there for him. So yeah, I don't think it was the case that Vicario has been cold with him or anything. I think it was just the fact that he wants to make sure these two guys get there. They're due. Okay. Well, great clarification on that. We'll listen from one extreme to another, of course, on to manager number three. We ended the season with him. Thankfully, we did because I think it's fair to say that a lot of Spurs fans were on the floor after the two two drawings bright. I think that's when in that game, despite Spurs, playing ever so well. I probably wanted the first times across the season at home, especially you felt that was a really dominant performance that went bright and did get the late equaliser. I think for a lot of Tottenham fans, it was kind of impending feeling that we might be heading to the championship, but the Derby didn't want to hear any of that. And he gave out a statement, which I think a lot of Tottenham fans couldn't believe. Let's remind you what he said in which you've got to say was a catalyst to the great escape which were Burgers performed. Let's hear and remind ourselves of Roberto and we'll get Ellie's taken what he's made of his time at Tottenham so far and what he's been like to cover. That was a good week. Classic. Classic Tottenham. In this moment we need this spirit, this attitude, this mentality and it's not finished yet. We have another five games. It's tough. Every one of us knows it's a tough moment. It's a difficult situation, but we have another five games, 50 points. And this team is able to win five games in a row. When he said that at the time, I think there's a lot of spurs fans because he was a lot of pessimistic bunch right because as I said there, Bill will come to you and you can angle it to Ellie. Where was you when you heard that about the five games running off the bright and you came to Ellie, your thoughts on that? I think there are two. There's that point there and I think for me that the even bigger one almost was the press conference before us and Villa where he says, I can't remember we lost a player in the week. I can't remember if it was. Might have been chavvy or someone and he says, it's not time for losers now. We're not crying. Anyone on this bit ran. I wonder what was that like to experience because for me that was a real turning point in my own mentality because he's right. I have spent so many podcasts that we all have this season, mown in the mouth of the refs, mown in the mouth of the injuries, mown in the mouth of this and he said, I don't want any of that. Stop all the crying. We're going to turn this around and for me it was like, oh my god, this is what we needed. What was that as a Villa and the bright and press conference is like and I know one of your colleagues, Tom, what would have interesting to be on that question about the five wins this weekend. That was a really good video afterwards. But what was it like to experience that in the flesh? Yes, it's great fun. It is great fun. He is a pleasure to have in press conferences because little bit of art shooter, he can go either way. But the other bit of him, he likes to have fun and you know, you mentioned there with Tom Tom Orner and I kind of couldn't talk about it in my video the other day because it was before Tom had kind of embraced him, put it out there on social media himself. But yeah, just after that five wins thing, you know, and he was speaking very honestly, Tom Orner. He's exactly felt the same way as us. He was, you know, deserving. So you don't think you can win five in his eye. Well, I've seen a lot of Tom and it's true that that's not being negative. That is just what's been drilled into it. So it's exactly what you say. And I think what Deserb has, which is a little bit like Pogetino had a similar thing is that I think he sees himself as much as a psychologist as a manager and I think he kind of has this way of getting a message not into over the players, also into staff. But also I think the media, I think he and the fans.
I think he wanted to change his whole, and also I suppose to be fair to Postercoglu as well. He would do this as well. It's like changing this perception of spursy and all those horrible kind of you know self-destruct things that Spurs fans do and look every single game going in that final run. I'm talking, I've got you know George Sessions from PA. George is what I was when I started on the beat 10 years ago. George is we're going to win this game. We're going to do this. It's so great. I love to. And then I honestly it's fantastic. I might be battered down by the thing that is Tottenham Hotspur and to go into every match game, I'm not going to win this. I'm going to win this. And that's what deserves. He's done. He's come in and just said to everyone, what are you talking about? Look at this. Look at this player. This player's a World Cup winner. Look at this guy. He scored, you know, a million goals for an I'd trick Frankfurt. He's not as bad as you people think he is and stuff like that. And that's what he's done. He came in and what he did was just mold a completely different mentality. Not on the inside the club, outside the club, which is an incredible feat to do. And yeah, so I do. I think I really enjoy the press conference. We have a little back and forth. You know, the other day he was telling me, you know, you want to know too much when I was asking about the goalkeeper situation. And he plays and he has a bit of fun. And I'm really, you know, hitting off to the summit or again this summer. And I'm fascinated to see what an hour or so of a deserving would know cameras. Maybe a couple of beers in hand. I'm hoping that would be absolutely incredible. I mean, just on the server, I'm sure people are going to come in as well. In the 7th place matches under him. And Chris, the jolly blame for this, the super jolly blame. Spurs face 17 shots on target, the fewest in the league. And in the 7th matches prior, I can believe this spurs face 41 shots on target, the most in the league. If you ever kind of need a stat there to kind of tell you the difference before and after is remarkable. And I mean, look again, you've considered that we came in the door. I mean, he had the almost week from hell. Didn't he came in for the door? And he lost what? Two to three pounds in a space or a week one. You know, we went into the bottom tree as well. Yeah. That was real tweet, Bill. He came into the door. Where did the bottom three lost the player to a season in injury? And it took 11 points from 21. I mean, it's funny. It doesn't feel like a lot of points, but when you consider like what you had to deal with the amount of injuries that you faced, I mean, I mean, how can when he came for the door at that point? Did you think it was too late? Got feeling? I worried it was. I worried it. I did feel like he's the kind of guy that would galvanise people. And that was my hope. And thankfully it proved to be the case. But yes, there was a fear has this come too late. But you know, the points per game, I think someone said, if you've taken it across the season, they're like sick or something. That's how that's the biggest achievement. I think he said it is his biggest achievement in management, because essentially he's taken a team that was broken and lying there crumpled on the floor. And he's got them going into, you know, those last six games, 11 points from last six games. That's not relegation for me. That is why they stayed up. You know, that is a team that should be punching far higher in the table. And that's a remarkable feat. It really is. I mean, I saw those players coming off of the pitch at game, saw them walking through the mix zone, everything. They were just gone. They were so down. They were so beaten down in confidence. And yeah, it's just remarkable. We didn't thank goodness he did. But and also at a brand of football that is not full, deserving football. It's compromised, deserving. We'll you know, we'll see next season what it's really supposed to be like. And Vikari was talking about that exact thing you said about the lack of shots on goal. He said, people think about deserving ballers. Oh, you know, this incredible passing, rushing, getting around the pitch. But actually there's a tactical layers at the back as well that prevent the other team from shooting. And we've seen that. And it's not rocket science. You don't let them shoot your goal as much. They might not put it in the net and learn behold it worked in the end. It really hit home when you were talking only about the Thomas Frank. So we have a lot of us, a blank that of a mind when you talk about how the fans used to get on players backs. But we've seen complete transformation only on the pitch, but off the pitch as well towards the end of the season. I think fans have really stepped up. I think the phone and the home atmosphere is a completely different now. The away ends are some of the best we've ever seen in the Premier League for me. I know we've had many dorms, many false dorms I should say as first fans. This feels like a new dorm, but you just feel like you know, you know, just Erby, you ever think this happened at the moment? Just feels like the start of something special at the moment. I'm sorry. I hope so. But let's be honest, we've had so many full storms at Tottenham. Again, going back to the George and Mike comparison. So George thinks it is going to be the start of a beautiful, decadeed dynasty of, you know, deserving wonder. And I hope so too. I think it would be amazing. I did ask him about this when he first joined that, you know, haven't really been at clubs for too long in the past. And he very much, you know, he said, look, there were problems at Brighton. There were problems in Marseille as well. He said, look, there was a war with Shaqta. I can't be having that one kind of thing, which is absolutely right. You know, he had to kind of leave the country as fair enough. Definitely, you know, his career has not pointed too longevity. But as with, I feel like I've said this before, with previous managers and maybe Postercoglu was another one that maybe this is different, maybe Tottenham give him the platform to create something that can compete with the big boys. But Tottenham have to do that. And they'll be fully aware he can be a volatile guy. You know, we're seeing fun, uh, deserving at the moment. And it's a bit like Marinho. All the Manchester reporters warn me, um, Joseph's terrible and press conferences, moody or hate it. We, because he didn't, wasn't there long. We only got to see quite good. Joseph was quite fun. He was good with us. And this is the same with Deserb. It was still very much in the honeymoon period. But as soon as things don't go right, he's going to make it very clear that they have not gone right. And it's not his fault. So that's going to be the key thing. It's going to keep him happy as it was with Konte. But if they can. And if this new version of Tottenham, you know, we've been promised by the, the next generation of owners and the people underneath them, then maybe it just happens to be the perfect moment in Tottenham's history when it all aligns and we get something to be proud of again. Jalpelina. I mean, the goal he scored at the top of the stadium last week, you know, it is priced us right because I mean, depending how that game goes and the nerves around, I've got credit the fans. I've got the fans on magnificent to not allow the West Ham goals going into really transcend on to the pitch and create the nervousness. Because to be fair, that was one of my biggest concerns that the leads game I felt at home, there was a nervousness there that I'm fully did transcend to the pitch. And naturally, look, I think for a lot of Tottenham fans out there, they've a lot of us, we've not been in this situation before, you know, it's been one of those kind of crazy crazy things that we've all been through. But Guttfield and Jalpelina, he said, "Who doesn't want to play for Spurs?" And I think Jay was speaking to him about this. He said, "This is like a marriage. What I can say to you is that I would really like to be here. I enjoy a lot with his club, even being a tough season. You've got a gay jail on terms of gut feeling for Jal, if you'll be your knock." Because it's weird, his Instagram message felt like a goodbye message, but then these quotes subsequently since feel like, maybe you will stay. Have you got a gay job for you? He would love to stay. He would absolutely love to stay. He is a wonderful personality to have in a football club. He is a top professional and look. If you're looking at direct contributions to Tottenham Hotspur, him and Kinsky between them kept Tottenham up. His goals, the key one at walls, the key one against Everton, Kinsky saves as well, late on in games. They really will like the finishes of what Tottenham needed. If it's down to Deserby and this is the point I came back to about getting what he wants, he would love him to stay. I do have some doubts over whether he is perfect for Deserby football. I think he has that slight hesitation when he gets the ball, which makes it difficult to bait the press and get people close to him and then pass it off. Like Bentonka. Bentonka had a couple of sloppy moments against Everton, but on the whole you can just see with Bentonka. He is used to in Italy where he would enter. That was what he would do. He would take the ball in tight spots and he would use him. How he doesn't quite have that, but what he does is incredible for a defensive midfielder, how he's popped up in so many big moments for spurs this season, some spectacular goals as well. What I would say, and this might be a test of the new Tottenham versus the old. The old Tottenham would never have spent 30 million euros on a guy that is going to be 31 next month or July. I think it is. That's a lot of money for him. I wonder whether they just say, hey, new Tottenham, take the money and you know, we'll have him or whether they look to renegotiate it or even get him in on another year's loan maybe. But I'd like to see him stick around. I think he is the kind of guy you need around your club, but I don't know whether whatever that is, almost 26 million pounds. It's a tough one for a player who maybe won't be a first choice for a deserving next season. Talking of guys, you need around your club. I think one of the main things of the season, I have to say, Ali, I follow everything you're right, close to you. I've never quite known a week like this for an individual player. I don't know, glorious captain, Christian Romero. Quite the story and the league, you know, in the week, we got to one of the biggest games in our history. He's been all over the place. He's been Argentina. Belgrano is apparently going to a cup final. He flew back. He was in the barbers. It's been a wild season for Christian Romero. I think it's safe to say. It was massively let down. Spurs fans this season. Both discipline. There's been some comments against the board, which I certainly agree with, but the captain should be coming out and saying that. There's another argument and stuff like that. But
What sort of, do you think this is the end we see of Christian Rumeria? Do you think we'll ever see a minute talk and share again? Another huge room is last time I've removed a physical Madrid. It's just I've never honestly known a sort of player to take up this much. Art school space in this kind of way. What's it been like covering Christian Rumeria the season and what how do you see this ending? It's been incredible covering me. I've never known a player who isn't even like a, you know, we're not talking like a Harry Kane type, someone up front that scores the goal of anything. Be so just the center of the news, even when he's not playing. It's been a charity. Honestly, it's the final game of the season. So it's a dog bark in the background. Have you picking that up on the mic? He's gone absolutely maze. Obviously a massive Romero fan. But it's just like even in the game that is the biggest game of top of the season decides whether they fall down to the championship. And most of my week was spent working out where Romero was. So he wasn't ever going to play. You know, it's just incredible. And I even because we had to press conference with deserving and deserving was talking about him. And we were trying to, I had to kind of, we were just ramming it home. I had to even ask him, I was like, Roberto, do you understand why the fans are so angry? And he's like 100% I understand. And so later that day I kind of started digging around it and tried to get hold of an adventure got Christian Romero's agent and then spoke to me. Actually, surprisingly, he wanted to go on the record with his name and everything. Serra Palermo. And he was like, he wanted to put the players side across and then, yeah, shock, hurry comes back and he's there for the game. It was just a mad thing that I'm having a chase around a player's agent who isn't even playing in a game. I get ahead of such an enormous event in the club's history. Yeah. So back to the original thing about is he get a stand or going, my gut tells me I think he'll go, I think this is the season when it becomes more palatable for spurs fans as well. I think after what's happened. I do got to say the complete opposite with the Palinia thing and deserving. I actually think Ramera and deserving would be a great match. That's the irony. I think I think I get it. Yeah, I think if he was to stay next season, I do feel like they would be an incredible duo. But there's also this other side to Tim, I don't think he is, how do I put this, a real leader in the leader way you want your captain to be. I think he is someone that other players follow as an example, good or bad. I think he is someone that has had a lot of free reign at Tottenham over the years. I certainly know some of the managers would give him a bit of leeway. He'd have days off when others might not. He'd be able to kind of go back home and things like that. And definitely he was a man who had a lot of power within Tottenham and maybe despite the fact I do think it's an incredibly talented centre back. Maybe it's not the worst thing to have someone so powerful, not within a structure where you know he could end up clashing with deserving, you know, deserved clash with players at other clubs as well. But I kind of feel like his own, you know, we're talking about Instagram posts, his own post for me felt like a goodbye. There was nothing in it that really pertained to him next season. It was more about, you know, players and managers come and go like me almost you could have had him rackets and I will be sad to see him go because I think he's an incredible player and I do feel like he's probably been underrated. Maybe by the media over here, mostly because of those head loss moments he's had, but I don't think any centre backspurs have had for quite a while. Maybe since the younger has been able to play the kind of progressive passes from the back allied with that aggression, which even younger don't have is an incredibly potent mix, but yeah, I feel like. I feel like it's perfect. It doesn't matter. Yeah, 100% but I feel like we're coming to you under that road. This is going to feel like the nine minutes of add on stoppage time that we had at the event and game where there's the longest nine minutes. I thought where they got nine minutes from. I'm going to try and speed for an ask you this look it's going to be a summer that's going to be an interesting one because it feels as we need to. This show's title is the rebuild of Tottenham featuring you of course with me and Bill. We've got a summer coming up where it looks like Ben Davis potentially maybe will depart the club after a long standing association with us. I think Ben's been. I don't mean to be in a disrespect to a marrow, but the exemplary kind of attitude that you would want in a player and there's no. In case of the fact look how many managers that Davis was loved and adored and you've been on here so many years and told us that you know Davis has been one of the very first people that you know is love been under marina and a condo. These are world class managers who absolutely loved him so it looks like he's going to the part. I mean, basuma. It's fair to say business that is interesting times with Tottenham to put it politely unless there's a you know you tell us an unsurprising element to what's going to come. It's like he'll probably move on we've seen there's been a whole host of players being linked to us with genuine premier experience the likes of Andy Robinson of course you've had John stones in the last 24 hours as well. Well, let's experience in terms of Marcus and S.I. but of course, Premier League experience. I just want to kind of get your gauge on what are you personally feel spurs need this summer to take to first back to where they want to be. I'm going to show my optimism aside here maybe this is just because the seasons over but I think if they get things right such a huge opportunity for next season there really is no midweek football pretty much. The Zürby ball will flourish under that to actually have you know three weeks for the players to actually recover and and be able to play his in very intense style. I genuinely think you could have the crazy situation where they go from a team that's kind of scraping against and almost got relegated by two points in it to probably being a top six side next season just if they can get it right and that's the biggest if at all when it of all when it comes to Tottenham. So yeah very quickly going through someone I was playing so bend Davis I I love bend I think is the greatest human being you will speak to as a footballer he is the nicest guy he loves Tottenham through to his utter core and you know I saw him traveling with the team to to villa to be part of things just because he he didn't he wanted to have he wanted to have a London experience voice in the dressing room and maybe they were missing some and and it's lovely that he's back at fitness now I think he's in the the whale squad I think he's he's back in it and that's great I think he will be a future coach at Tottenham potentially maybe a future manager or even maybe something behind the scenes in terms of like a sporting director I don't think he's decided he's that clever he can probably do as many of those as he wants but I think he's got a couple of years at least left of his career. So I would imagine unless something remarkable happens and deserve he just pleads with him to stay I would imagine he goes off summer and and spends a couple of years and then maybe comes back to spurs and some capacity which would be amazing. But summer different one there yeah that kind of has to come to a conclusion really for both parties however if it hasn't happened already I would be surprised if they don't take up the option on his contract purely to try and get some money for him which I think could end up being disastrous leave you don't can't sell him you just get lumbered with him again yeah obviously hasn't really played a part in the finale of the season either so surely heads off. In terms of those coming in it's that classic thing isn't it Tottenham it be interesting to see all these players that been linked with the club before manager comes in and then mysteriously the manager wants those players that been linked before it's that is it's incredibly convenient but what I would say is I do kind of see how they work Sunisa I was talking about Ramara and the way you play the ball through the lines that's what Sunisa does as well very much that kind of player my only thing about him is predominantly born with the years. And before that as well at fine or played on the left of the defense so how that works if you were to then play alongside van the van or whether he ends up being a rotation with van the van you know I don't know but I do think he fits with his ease on the ball the style of football deserved me I think Robertson just as an experienced leader someone that you bring in I get that as well and we know they need left back extra options. I think a doggy if he can get over his injury issues which again is a big issue a big if I think there's a terrific young left back there to come through and I think working alongside someone like Robertson is a great as a mental capacity so I can understand you know we've even seen a Savinio as well pop back into our kind of her world and then suddenly being someone that deserve he likes I like Savin I do think as a player he suits Tottenham but yeah I mean to see whether he's someone that's really really pushes for but so much to come I think you know there's I think in a new striker I think that's going to be a big e-list summer as well that's the one I'm probably most fascinated to see who they go from. Bill's in the first and just one second out as a final one so so we have taken you pass a lot of time we are we know that we all know it's a deep deep stoppage time with a boy's pingin around we've got to get clear out the six y'all boxing Kevin dad does head as massively help us do that. He was brilliant was he kept what a man what a man what a man what a human being he's been to recover like I did mentally same as Kinske from let's say difficult difficult moment credits to the Zurbie credits those boys. I just see it in the game when his eye was almost closed up and he could be it's like rocking his right wasn't it's like just cut it open kind of thing is incredible. bad, mad, I mean listen, that's the thing, it's been warrior spirituals, the end of
there and you said it I think in your video that your most recent one that the players I feel for a lot of fans maybe at some was I've let them down but they did shop on the final day and again the critical day to have to show up. To those men we saw actually I mean one of them definitely on the bench for Cori, he'd caught an interest in if you want to call it talk or the boat with David more personally. I just want to get a gauge on what you think about him because again it feels like deserving of massive respect and when he came in about the fact he wanted to make it very clear he was his number one despite not playing and Nicky van de Venne is these kind of reports now suggesting that he wants to stay. What do you think those two are before we had an ability to end on a nice movie question for you. So I think I think the Cori goes I think. Okay. In his post match kind of interview he kind of was talking about next season but it was a bit like a year witch club though kind of thing. I just feel like and this is you know no disrespect for spurs fans who were absolutely magnificent in the kind of closing home games of the season especially and people always know my thoughts on the away fans are incredible but I think in the Cario's mind probably feels like he's been the full guy this season and he probably thinks like if I've got offers to go back home not sure the fans will ever truly take to me I can kind of understand why that's a move that especially with Kinski's form the all parties kind of see as a way to go so I get that I get that with Mickey van de Venne I just feel like you don't let Ramera and Van de Venne go I think it's too huge a kind of an impact on the on the defense look hey could happen if he get word to kick up a fuss but again I feel like he's enjoyed working with Deserby and I think it you know he's still got what three years left on his contract. I don't need to sell him I know they don't need to sell Ramera but Van de Venne could be the future like the cornerstone of this defense and I feel it's very telling Deserby in recent days he's the best left side of center back in the league you know he is very much been buttering up but he kind of has been you know he's kind of making him happy and they need to give him a new contract I do feel like you know he's again not the natural leader type but I do feel like he stepped up as captain on quite a few occasions this season it's got more goals as well for the club than we probably expected him to so yeah I think Mickey's he's still very much a raw defender that's the thing that people maybe forget he's not an experienced older defender he's got so much to work on his game and obviously not just rely on his pace to get him out of situations and improve his heading and stuff like that so I think there's a lot to work there with for Deserby and I think they would be kind of mad to let him go now I really do I just think thank you really on behalf of the fan base because you know we all really knew to me and you both share a passion for film I've got the X-Men T-shirt on there you've got the Jurassic Park T-shirt on there so I just want to ask you two questions second by far the most important question of the day first one is I'm not too big here for films this year we have got Star Wars that this week we've got the Odyssey coming June Avengers all sorts just wanted what film are you most looking forward to and my second question I don't know anyone who knows anyone anything about top in my mind I know why this is important why don't you go and on holiday this year because we know that's when everything we're happy about on this season that's a good question yeah it's been kind of intertwined isn't it movies and spurs this year I mean I guess you could say Deserby was the project Hail Mary wasn't he for Tottenham and it worked yeah it's been one battle after another it feels like at home most weeks as well yeah what my most looking forward to there's a lot of good ones coming up yeah I've got to go and see the Mandalorian and Grogu and go tomorrow I think tomorrow yeah I might try to as well quite intrigued see the new Spider-Man one and how they do that and how they kind of do this kind of new start for it all a bit like spurs isn't it you know it's going to be yeah they're coming yes so some of the same old but got to present it in a completely different way so yeah they do everyone has a new chapter I've got you more time in my days but yeah absolutely yeah that's probably the ones and of course way down the line the new Avengers later in the year be a good one as well but yeah the Odyssey as well that's going to be epic and how do you actually feel about me going holiday something absolutely monumental happens it's bad literally to me every time at this point I know the worst one for Mrs Gold was last summer honestly we touched down in where were we Algaro and Sudinia and we just gone to sit in like a little cafe overlooking the beach got myself a beer and my phone just exploded honestly we were probably an hour after getting to our hotel and checking in and walking down to the beach and it was all and just going and I'd had these messages with I've just gone by the way and then it became official a little after and she was just like yeah we're done aren't we for the next 24 hours this is like this is not going to happen is it and I was like I'm so sorry there's just so much I'm going to have to do with it and I remember the next day even sitting in the in our hotel room trying to do a YouTube video and uploading it on the crappy hotel wi-fi that was dreadful ended up walking around like Sudinia just trying to find some mobile signal to upload it so yeah she's she's brilliant to be fair she understands that something stupid is going to happen with Tottenham every time we're going holiday pretty much but yeah seems to be a weird kind of magnet for mad things I don't know people have heard it already Albut for those that maybe wouldn't have heard it on audio just Disneyland just because you just very quickly explain what that was like I was in there wherever you was were you having said watch out the mobile phone and miss his gold knew what the I might have been the bright and game I think yes you got because quickly say this is an audio because very quickly such a great story yeah so I only went there for a weekend it was just like a little quick getaway it was for miss his gold like a belated birthday present just a quick getaway but of course as time went on I was like you know that bright and game that wasn't really going to be very important it's now absolutely huge so I'm gonna have to watch it and she was like that's all right that's all right I get it so we had this very nice table booked it is really nice Ratatouille themed restaurant in Disneyland Paris so I'm sitting there have the phone up against the menu so the rest of the restaurant couldn't see that I'm watching a Tottenham match and the waitress comes over gives me an absolute scowl when she realizes that it looks like this supposedly romantic meal when I've got a football match and Mrs. Gold was brilliant she said no no no this is job he has to keep an eye and it has to and she saw me going I think because Javier scored the second goal it was fantastic kind of thing and then she just got up and she was like I'm just gonna have a little walk around the restaurant have a look at all the sites so I was like okay fair enough and then obviously they scored that like late leveler and she came back and she was like you're right and I was like oh they scored I was like I could just tell she wasn't shocked and I was like why you know did you know that was going to happen or something and because what I should have said this stream that I was watching on was 10 minutes behind and what I found out was she told me oh yeah I always have notifications set for Tottenham scores so even when you're at any match I know who scores what happens and everything and I knew that they scored a late goal and I just didn't want to be there and I have to see your face when it went in and yeah that's that's life with me unfortunately it's probably just the same for any spurs fan and their long suffering other half most you know there's a lot of other half that go to the games as well so I know what it's like so no she's brilliant though it's it was just a weird bizarre moment honestly mate we we that's now I think one of the things I want to close the show on is I think many of suggested that you watching this the broadcast live is there's been a lot of saying thank you to you for sticking up for the fans built it that earlier and it's a real shame that kind of narrative was allowed to build about the fans being a problem when you kind of also have referred in fact so many times out how they turned out for the bus before of course at forest and then you know the final day I mean it's just it's such a shame that narrative was allowed to build so thank you all but I want to say the whole fan base was sticking up for the fans because you know that's the thing you know yourself in there George in there when you've got you can feel the spurs people that are talking to the managers or the many that have been thank you all but all of us out we've really really appreciated this season no no it's it's my pleasure honestly the reasons for the absolute mess of this season are not the Tottenham fans absolutely not they deserve so much better and hopefully they'll get it next season there would be great well listen my thanks Bill thank you man I know you've enjoyed this one I do think I'm not saying I think we have saved the best to last week I'm sort of closed this book beyond the season we've just had a never talk about it again can we promise that Bill yeah quote spider-man it's going to be a brand new day there you go there is no heading back out thank you so much a final one hour where can I come in people don't know where to find you if they don't know where to find Alistair Gold where can they find Alistair Gold how can they not have Alistair Gold in their lives how can they find you I'm all over the place I know that honestly it's been an absolute honor guys great fun great to find a beyond with Billy as well and he's just as much fun as I thought it would be and obviously Ricky it's always a pleasure I say it every time but it's true I don't do a lot of stuff because I have so much ridiculous work road workload but I'll do it for you guys because I always enjoy it mate with Diamond we can't think enough listen we know I've busy you've been and I have to apologise for you because our mad disilligation battle sent me I even sent you the wrong the wrong month to come on the bloody subject as our mentor it was I gave out a month and as our mad it is this of my thanks Bill thank you Al thank you make sure guys I say we get a bit of time away now a little bit of time to breathing these next few days because it's fair to say I think we want out on holiday pretty much for about a month or two fairly in mind that it's already started right Al okay give us a cup definitely go to I'm up for it honestly the amount of people at Tweet that are going to do crowd funding to send me around the world for a year

Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Summary:

Kyseessä on todennäköisesti mainoslause.
Kirjeen olisi pitänyt tulla aiemmin, eikä sen sisältöä olisi pitänyt vaikuttaa seuran sarjatasolla. Joka tapauksessa tilanne oli kauhea.
Peter Charrington on seuran ei-toimeenpanevassa roolissa oleva henkilö.
