This is a Fitty We're Brilliant Kate podcast. I want to talk about, you know how they say that you should celebrate those little wins that you have every day. Tiny victories. What's been one for you today? What's a little victory? Do we have one every day? I'm going to tell you what mine is today. With inflation and cost of living and it's ridiculous, some of the prices that we're paying for a cup of coffee these days or even just to take your family out for breakfast, you know, it's expensive. Do you know what I get a lot of enjoyment out of? When I walk the dog coat and you can go and get a doggy bag when your dog decides to go, you can get it for free from where? Sometimes I talk to you yesterday. Well, isn't it a grub like them? From the dog park. They're everywhere. Oh, at the park. Yeah, sorry, we're not at the stage yet. I mean, the council have them up in the areas and when you do walk your dog, I just don't know. I get a little win now when I realize that there's things in life that you can still get for free. Well, it made me think, you know, like it's like when you go to an event down the beach or there may be a fair down the beach or something, a market or something like that and they, the council decided to give you one of those little sunscreens. Yeah. And it's for free. When I go to the dentist, John Jones, there's a little bowl on the counter and it has samples of well-known branded toothpaste. Oh, that's it. That's a good trick. And they're like, yeah, they're like little travel, travel samples. Yep. And I'm a hand. I'm a huge hand into the pot. But it's not free because you've just paid $600 for the dentist. Well, I did not take it. Not to take it. No, do take it. So I feel like there's something there. And then when we're short on toothpaste, hey guys, everyone gets a squeezy each. So, 13, 24, 10, please give us a call for it. What are the little victories that you're getting that we can still get for free these days? Because it's hard. It's harder to find. What about just a good day? What about someone just giving you a smile in the street? That's free. It's free to be caught. Oh, okay. Sorry. It's not a physical fraud. You can't take it hard. You can't go that guy's smile. That guy's smiled at me. So I put him in the car. You tried that cake and you already wanted the book. You think I know. There's no room in here. Richie. Wait, you turn. What about the free piece of fruit that you get at the supermarket now for the kids? I can't take that if you're an adult. That's a good children. I understand people do take advantage of that because I have seen a few families take a few extra apples or a couple of extra bananas. I think that's fine and that does feel good, Fitz. When you look at the kids, the kids rack there and there's a few extra wonky apples and a couple of weird bent bananas. They're not weird. I just know that you know. Tommy, you said to me in the office today, pet barn. You can get a little dog fruit from your dog if you're going there. Yeah, dog will be going to be going to pet barn up the counter and then you know, can have a treat for my dog. Yes, please. I went there, Tommy. Three pieces of chicken, dried chicken. You're kidding me. I went there the other day and they said, we've got to, we've actually got a welcome bag for you as you sign up as a new member here. Got a welcome bag. All sorts of treats. Got a scratch in the ball. Yeah. I'll go and call Lisa that. I walked out feeling like a king. That's pet barn king. Adam, what have you scored for free? I scored. I filled up a whole Christmas stocking for one of my ex-partners with all the little testers that you get from David Jones and Miles from all the moisturizers, the makeup, the perfumes, everything and surprised with a whole Christmas stocking. So then she could actually work out which product she liked and the best bit was every one of them was free. And she didn't like any of them. She loved quite a few of them and then she ate them and a lot of them were ones that she hadn't tried before. Yeah, the right one. That's so handsome. That's so handsome. Christmas samples. Cheryl's with her daughter, me, Gels. What's the little victory that you're getting at the moment? We're getting the free champion in condition from the hotels. That's so good. It's worth spending the $600 for the room. I like the free toothbrushes in the room. Sometimes they're better than the ones you get at the supermarket. Oh, you know you've got to rotate it. You've had your toothbrush for about eight months, nine months. No, I haven't. I'll see you. You bring your door. I've just found an extra long toothbrush because I sometimes find it hard to get to the teeth at the back. That's what the dentist said. So I found one that's not just your average like two centimeters. It's about, it's quite long. Yeah, bring it in. All of it. Vanessa, I was a little free, Ves, are you getting this? Oh, my kids are getting free lollipops every time they go to the dentist. Yeah, that's what that doesn't make sense, doesn't it? Yeah, and you know what, Vanessa, a similar one, I walked past our local hairdresser, Brian the barber. You go past T.C.'s the kids. He's got a giant tub of chubbachums. Chubbachums? Chubbachums. It's chubbachum. Chubbachums. Chubbachums. Chubbachums. Do you know what if you smell? Chubbachums. It's a dog-at. Absolute dog-at. It's a agility, simo, or a mucinac. Oh, you can take the kids and get them to try every flavour and then go. You know what? We're quite full. Thanks a lot, see you later. I think that's a great idea. You should always have a sample before your final order. Three samples before your final order. I don't, that makes me so nervous. I get really awkward. I don't like asking for the samples. That's interesting. I like to live on the edge with my ice cream. You're my. You're my auntie. I mean, you didn't mean long tooth, right? Long tooth rush is a guy in the boot and I won't have me samples. These are the little wins. This is the Fitsy We're Bren Kate Podcast.
