Reacting to the AP Top 25 and Predicting Conference Winners

The Ruger Tailgate team reacts to the release of the AP Top 25 preseason poll, noting that no SEC team earned a No. 1 vote—a shift reflecting the conference’s current mid-tier status. They analyze the rankings, with Oregon emerging as a strong contender due to depth, defensive strength, and fewer questions compared to Ohio State. The discussion also turns to Indiana’s historic 2024 season, where they defeated top-ranked teams and won a national championship, sparking debate about whether it is the greatest season in college football history. The panel acknowledges the emotional and narrative impact of Indiana’s success, contrasting it with other iconic seasons like TCU’s 2010 undefeated run. Additional topics include Clemson’s drop from the Top 20, signaling a shift in program confidence, and the growing importance of coaching changes and realignment in shaping conference dynamics. The show concludes by identifying the top storyline of the 2026 season as Lane Kiffin’s return, with deep interest in the Manning family legacy and the rise of new coaching talent across programs. The hosts emphasize the evolving nature of college football, where scheduling, program identity, and coaching innovation are shaping the future of the game.

[MUSIC] Welcome back to Ruger Tailgate, the Wednesday edition of the show. I'm your host, Tate Frazier. And we got a fun show. It's pre-season. So we're going to get into the AP Top 25. It is officially out. We'll give our one big reaction. We'll also run through all the conferences and give our one big prediction on who's actually going to win these conferences. But first and foremost, let's say we're up to our guys, Van Lathen at home with the LSU chain on. What's up, Van? We got the LSU chain on. We got the Mookey-Bets hat on, bro. We are ready for it. Shout out is Ruger Tailgate, where it's always raised the roof, which turns into a thumbs up. Never a thumbs down. Never a thumbs down, huh? Yeah, we keep our thumbs up here on Ruger Tailgate. And the man who always gives two thumbs up. We got Joel Anderson in the horn frog shirt. What's up, Joel? Man, it was good, man. Thumbs up. Thumbs up all around. Raise the roof, man. Thumbs up. No, I did. I can't take that. Van, did you get raise the roof, dog? Raise the roof, dog. You know what I'm saying. Y'all said that and bring it up energy. Y'all said I didn't bring enough energy at the beginning of the show. That's why I lost the privilege of kicking it off. So I'm trying to show y'all, you know, you wouldn't do it. It's not even about the energy. Like we would be like our raised roof, but then we would get to you. It really should be you that raised roof. You made it up. That's right. You would, you, you would forget to raise the roof. If you get your own shit, you know, I just, I just, it was really hard to just figure out a good time to put it in, you know, the opener, right. You've, you've mastered that. I'll give you credit for that. You, you really know how to transition into that. It comes out with electricity every single time. Yeah, I'm just, I'm just not like this is what I was talking about. You're kind of a slow burn, Joel. Not to do it, but upon, you know, you know, listen, get into it. But like this is just what I'm talking about. This van. This is what I was thinking about when I was telling you that you were like Shaq and I was like Stanley Roberts. It was like, stop with that shit, bro. That's what it was. That's what you're saying. You were first, but he mastered it. I am older than that. Well, I'm saying though, is that the whole conceit. It was a story. It was about how Stanley Roberts never lived up to expectations, but they compared them to shut and they were like, man, when they were LSU Stanley Roberts, certainly Roberts will bushecks ass and everybody thought Stanley Roberts is going to be great, but this, you know, sort of the conceit of the story is that because Stanley Roberts was uncomfortable with the tension because he was just sort of a, you know, a secondary player, he was not of somebody who was built to be a star, and thus he never reached his potential. And they compare him to Shaq and it's like this scene with Shaq is walking through this crowd and everybody's like giving him DAP and he's just eating it up and loving that shit. And I was like, that's kind of who they're in it. That's van. This is a compliment. You are very comfortable in a room like you, you say one time, you know, you step in a room, you kind of expect to be a factor. I'm a person I walk into a room and I kind of don't want to be noticed. You're a blender. You blender. I'm a blender. I'm a blender. Hey, Joe, first of all, child to Stanley Roberts. Yeah. I love how you're basically saying that you're more talented than me, but I try hard on it. But I'll say, but I'll say this though. I'll say, um, Tade has something to say, uh, regarding the NABJ, uh, before we start to show, take, take it away, please. Well, I just was asking you guys, uh, because you guys were talking about it beforehand. There was a thumbs down award that was handed out, which is, I think something we should think about on this show. Maybe we have a thumbs down award that we get to. But if you're going to have a thumbs down award for Steven A Smith who ended up receiving that award, I just asked if there's a thumbs up award that should also be in play. And I'm like, they should, if you get a thumbs down, we need a thumbs up, right? Am I wrong to think that? I think that's what the excellence in journalism awards are for. So, no, let's don't have to give a thumbs up. I know, because it's more a little bit informal. What did they give a thumbs up to like an ally out there, you know, for the NABJ? Oh, so you're saying that the thumbs up award for the NABJ should be for like white people? No, not for white people in general, but anybody that's an ally, you know, that anyone that moved the needle in the right direction, you know, thumbs up. NABJ is white people and white people money. So that's actually not a bad idea. You get somebody in, you know, it's like when the root 100, Billy says I'm actually going for the thumbs up award. I don't want the thumbs up award. I'm just saying I. You do want the thumbs up award. You made up the award for yourself. It seems like to me, it's the tape phrase your thumbs up award. I just think thumbs up would be nice. Like if you announce thumbs up and then thumbs down, I think you get it like a nice little dichotomy there between the two situations. Okay, take here's a deal. First of all, we used to do this on higher learning. We used to do something called unexpected ally of the week. We stopped that shit quick. We couldn't find that many and then the shit got crazy. That was kind of that was like higher learning, trying to be, you know. How could you name Miss Rachel, man? I mean, you were right. Miss Rachel is an unexpected ally. Miss Rachel goes up award. Miss Rachel gets the tape phrase your thumbs up award from tailgate. Miss Rachel going crazy out there. Miss Rachel, like she fighting the good fight. Nigger pretty soon she like Miss Rachel is going so crazy. Miss Rachel going to put something out there. It's like, you know, man, y'all leave my niggers alone. I'm telling you, Miss Rachel going crazy. I watched Miss Rachel videos for a couple years before all this shit popped off. I liked it before then. Like she was just, she was like a real good person for teaching children basic stuff and like modern Mr. Rogers. Yeah, she's a very decent person. And so I didn't even know she had all this other shit going on behind it. You know what I mean, like I just thought she was a nice white lady. And my hope was that I never learned anything that would make me not like her, but she's totally in the whole other direction. It's Miss Rachel said, fuck it. Somebody slipped Miss Rachel a copy to autobiography of Malcolm X. And she hadn't been the same since Miss Rachel out here going crazy. It was so funny on 3S that this happened. This happened for real. Because I'm off Twitter. I know if I know this. I'm off Twitter. I got off Twitter. I'm really. Yeah, I'm off Twitter. Like Twitter was making me too reactive. And like I'm arguing all day is stupid. I'm a threat. Yeah. I'm on the threads is not that much different. But but so somebody on threads was like, yo, you know, shout out to Miss Rachel, but it's starting to get a little perform right now. Oh, I've never seen somebody get the ass kicked in the comments. So that every all the black people was like, well, guess what? Let her perform. I mean, we in the dirt. Okay. It's like let her perform. Let it get a performance off right there. Go ahead, Miss Rachel. So Tate, are you saying that right now? You Tate Frazier, who's a winner or another way to recognize white people. Hey, you said, I like everybody. Well, no, if it's not the community, you're a good community. I mean, you had a opinion on our business. You had a opinion of people's business. So now you're involved. You're involved. So the inaugural Tate Frazier, thumbs up a war for Ally. That goes to Miss Rachel's, what you saying? Yeah, salute Miss Rachel. So Stephen A Smith thumbs down. Yeah, raise the roof for Miss Rachel. It's down, Stephen A Smith. It is kind of funny, too. I mean, man, we do what you're giving out of these awards and everything. We can't even, we haven't even supported ALS research yet. We still off that. How many weeks is this going to go on? It's going to be like Thompson girl. I didn't even have an instigator this week, but Joe, you're instigating right now. It's going to be like Thompson girl or ring a tailgate Phil Day. It's going to be this a thing that just never happens. Okay. So I'm going to do the video. It's all me now. I apologize. And it's funny. It's like, there's all kinds of things. It's like reminded me that we need to do this video and stand by this amazing cause. It's a great, yeah, it's a great cause, right? Seriously. Like I was watching an old couch football game. And it was SMU and Chris Johnson's son got the ball, hit the gap and then scored, right? And I was thinking to myself, man, I used to love watching his dad run that ball. He ran so amazingly and effortlessly was very fast, but stronger than you thought. Amazing vision. A lot of time burners don't have the vision. He had, which is why he could like make the runs happen like he did. So it just made me think of his father think about it. And so we need to do the video. What this is funny. This is I mean, his, he's a he's a Clemson now. Leave it or not. Oh, he, he, oh, he left. He left it. He was answering you when this game was on. Yeah. So he's, he, he's the, he is the son of a former football player, but not that Chris Johnson. His former Chris Johnson played receiver at Oregon State. It says in his bio, despite online reports to the contrary, he is not related to the former Tennessee Titans running back at the same name. Now let me tell you something. We have to leave that in. And I'll tell you why this is the Kenny loft in junior all over again. It is. And I'll tell you why because on that broadcast. They were making it seem as if he was Chris Johnson's son. Yeah. I wonder if those are the, those are the reports, despite reports to the like on that broadcast. It was like just like his dad and his name is Chris Johnson. You're not catching him. Now, here's the deal. Was his father who played for Oregon State. Was he also a speed burner. Oh, good question. Chris Johnson, Oregon State. Another beaver dog. They're coming up a lot. Yeah, beavers are everywhere. Beavers are everywhere. Joe, you're put on your story about beavers. Yeah. They've got they've got rabid beavers here and in Maryland. And there was a story about how to stay away from them. Yeah, I never, I never want to be around a rabbit beaver. I can't find, I mean, presumably this guy played a long time ago, Oregon State football, Chris Johnson. I just, I'm not going to be able to find. That's the thing. Chris Johnson is a very popular name too. Oh, wait. Oh, no, this motherfucker was amazing. Is this, is this the guy? Okay. Here we, oh, god damn. All right. So Chris is developed into one of the better receivers on the team and that's to the depth, the depth of the position. But he also played basketball at Oregon State. Nice. Okay. You guys, I have got to, this was SMU versus I have got to find this game because you guys aren't going to believe me. I remember last year I was talking about that. We talked about the Netpo ballers. I think he was one of the ones we threw out. Yeah. So as this was SMU, I can't remember who they were playing, but they were playing this game. This was a couple of days ago and they give him the ball and he goes with, with that name of Chris, you're not catching him. He's gone and he out ran everyone. This guy runs a 4 240. So then he out ran everyone and I'm like, oh, man, this is a sign that we need to get the video together because like, but the broadcast was definitely making it seem as if he was the son of the Tennessee Times Chris Johnson. I'm being for it. Yeah, but if someone runs a 4 2, I mean, you just kind of, and has the same name you would assume. Yeah, no, that's that's totally, yeah, I would, I would have, until I found out it wasn't him, I thought it was him. I was like, it only makes sense. He's a fast guy playing that position in Chris Johnson Jr. I think he's from Florida too. For Lauderdale. Yeah. So I'm like, well, I mean, it only makes sense, but evidently, there's a lot of Chris Johnson's out there with a lot of athletic ability. Yeah, shout out to Chris, to erase the roof for all the Chris Johnson's. Raise roof for all the Chris Johnson's. Raise roof for everybody. Raise roof. Oh, speaking to ALS, man, OJ Brigants, he passed away from complications related to ALS, a former Baltimore Raven, a former, a former Rice University football player, bro. Oh my god, I didn't even realize this. OJ Brigants went to Willoridge. Willoridge, that's my, that's my hood. That's the school that I, wanted to go to, was zone two throughout high school. Oh my god, OJ Brigants is a local legend. That's even even more tragic. He died at the age of 56 a couple days ago. Now they're most city legends. So we got to get the video done. Ben will send the video, shout out to Anthony Evers, and then we will piece it together and we will put it on Instagram. And we will be officially on the right side of history here because it has been a complicated journey to get to this point. But we're going to get there. That's what we do here on Ringer Tailgate. We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we got one big reaction to the AP Top 25. We're going to do one big prediction. We're going to go through the conference, says, pick the team that we think will win each conference and we will have a lot of fun along the way. We'll be right back on tailgate right after this. This is Ringer Tailgate presented by Fan Dole College football is back and with more games than ever, there are more ways to play than ever from conference champions and national title futures to team props, Fan Dole has everything you need to stay in the action all season long. We're back Ringer Tailgate. One big reaction, the AP Top 25 pole is officially out. Lane Kiffin said that he doesn't even know his team. The coaches don't even know their team. He doesn't understand why the coaches pole or the AP pole even exists because he says the coaches can't even figure it out. How could the media figure it out? But the AP has their Top 5. I'll read them out and we'll start from there. Number 1 Ohio State, number 2 Oregon, number 3 Georgia, number 4 Notre Dame, number 5 Texas. This is the first time since 2015, Van, that no SEC team got a number one vote in the preseason AP pole. Your reaction to that news. Probably took too long. The Big 10 has been the best conference in America at the top of the conference for going on three or four years now. And if you look at it, like, I mean, Georgia's quality football team, Texas is a quality football team. But if you look at the questions at those two programs, as it relates to the questions that Oregon or Ohio State, you would just think that Ohio State and Oregon have less questions to answer. You can argue that really that Notre Dame is in a position here, even though they have some pretty decent questions to answer themselves. But they're as good as deserving of being three as Georgia is. Then when you sort of look at what's happening from, I'm going to say eight to 11, that kind of tells the story of the SEC, which is you have a log jam right there between A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and LSU. And that is what the SEC is right now, which is a log jam of quality, middle tier teams, middle to upper tier teams. Like upper middle, it's an upper middle class conference when it used to be an elite conference. It used to be the one percenters. It used to be the top of the top of the one percenters. A while receiver room full of first round picks, running back room full of first round picks. Now, this is an upper middle class college football conference is what the SEC is right now. And what's above them here, maybe with the exception of Miami, I'm kind of feeling on see what they are. Are the elites? That top five right there? Those are the elites. I would argue that maybe even Texas, Texas has some questions to answer too. Texas being, so I don't know. I'll look at this and I think this is what the SEC is now. Well, still two teams in the top five. Obviously, the two teams are both big 10 teams when you talk about Oregon and Ohio State. But when I look at the top five, Joel, Ohio State has to answer, what do they do when they replenish the defense? Georgia has to answer when they replenish the receiver room. What does that look like? Notre Dame has to figure out kind of who they are without Jeremiah Love and Judea. The running back room. Yeah, exactly. And then Texas has to figure out can they just actually put a full season together? Because last year we saw them play well at the end of the season when Arch kind of got a sea legs underneath them. But Oregon, to me, is the one team that doesn't really have that many questions. So I wonder, Joel, why are they not pretty? It's, no, I'm not. It is interesting because I felt the same way. I was actually going to say why is an Oregon number one? And that's no shot at Ohio State. Ohio State has one of the best quarterbacks, the best receiver, one of the best running backs and, you know, a tradition of excellence. But if I had to guess, I'm like, man, Ohio State had maybe one of the best college defenses in history. Like, I mean, statistically and empirically, like it was like one of the best defenses that their college football team has ever fielded and they have replaced so many guys. There are many names that we can say. So many names. So many styles. Right. So many guys we know. All that talent and it just seems, I mean, they weren't, they were a very good team last year, but they weren't an overwhelming team. So if the defense just takes a little bit of a step back, which means it could just be great in this year, but not historically great. You got to assume. Yeah. Whereas with Oregon, they don't have very many questions. They just got to stay healthy. And well, they lost some production on office from last year for sure. Yeah, that's true. They lost Kenyans to deep, but they had the backup tight ends and Jamari Johnson. I mean, he basically had his, his production 510 yards, three touchdowns. They running backs from him is healthy. The receiver room is going to be healthy. Oregon, I guess they lose the coordinators would be the pitch. Yeah. But they've got the best defensive line in the country, bro. Like I mean, they're going to be great on the office. They don't have any weaknesses. So that's why I would have the number one. Oregon doesn't have any weaknesses. What does that weakness? I mean, I think they still have a lot to prove in the receiver room. I mean, again, some guys healthy back. And I think they're replacing probably the best tight end in the country or one of the best tight ends in the country. And they're going to have to replace that production from a receiver room last year. That was good. But that was unproven. You were able to use him as a safety blanket. I think they have some questions. And also when they play the top teams, they don't perform well. We don't see the Oregon that we see against. I mean, that's a bigger question. That's in the play because they went to they beat Ohio state in a regular season a couple of years ago. Right. So that that that that should count. I mean, was it Austin, but that wind should count like it is. That was one of those games that people say Oregon can't win and they went ahead one, but they just haven't followed up in the playoffs. But it just if you're looking at the beginning of the season, they've got maybe the best quarterback in the country. They've got in all this other stuff around it. I lost two guys off the offensive line as well. Yeah. I mean, everybody loses guys. Everybody loses guys. Right. Yeah. I mean, what you say, what you say, what you say. Yeah. They got questions. They lost guys, but it's like the losses don't hurt as much. If you lose, Kenyan Sadeek is these is great to have Jamari Johnson. Also, they do have an injury. They do have probably the best backup quarterback in the country. That's what they have so much depth. They had so much depth that last. So let they could afford to lose a guy who was a 1400 yard rush. It's too lame. Is that right? Too lame. Too lame. McCot McCot Hughes. They had no use for him. And he left his down in University Houston to reconnect with Willie Fritz. But Oregon just has so much talent. I guess maybe the thing is and I know what you all are saying either, you know, they do have a few you guys think they have questions. I don't think they have questions, but I also think you would have number one is what you're saying. Right. I think it's going to be hard for people to believe the Oregon is number one until they win a championship. That's what I take. I just think that's what it is. So you think overall though that they have a better team on paper right now, then Ohio State. - Yeah, yeah, right now. Yeah. - I would trust-- - I don't have to say more over saying, you know, head to head. - Yeah, I think Ohio State could be Oregon, but that doesn't mean that I think that, you know what I mean? I still think that Oregon has more overall talent. And yeah, like you said, like Tate says, like don't say more, I'm not gonna take pretty much any quarterback in the country over him. And he's got a great defense, a great secondary, the best defensive line in the country, a really good linebacker core. And again, I used the Athlon's preseason mag. That's, I've been getting it since I was like 10 years old. - I did want to bring this up too. So this is the third reigning national champion to be ranked outside of the top five in the preseason, the CFP era. Each of the last four times the reigning national champion was ranked outside the preseason, top five. That team finished the season on ranked 24 Michigan, 20 LSU, 11 Auburn, O8 LSU. So LSU is on there twice, Van. Do you think Indiana has a situation where they may end up having a season that we don't perceive to happen? Or is it just another slight towards Kurt Signetti, the fact that they're not in the top five? - Once again, we've talked about this before. They're still gonna make Kurt Signetti prove it, that he can maintain the momentum of the program from year into year out, right? So like, when you're talking about a coach that establishes himself as an elite coach, it's actually not about players, it's about process. Everybody knows that, right? Because the elite coaches that we've seen coach at a high level for a very long time, are able to do that with different players. Now, they're doing it with great players, no lie. But it's the process by which they procure those players, get them in and develop them. And people are just gonna have trouble believing that that is sustainable at Indiana until they do it for a little while. So it doesn't matter what happens right now, even with the season they had last year. I think after this season, if they're a quality team and they're back in the playoff again, you'll see people respond a little differently. But, you know, LSUs, like you said, LSUs on there twice, because they know that LSU has these goalsches, these seasons where things don't come together. And they haven't been a team that is able to be every single year, one of those were one, two, or three in the nation. We are one, then we're two, then we're five, then we're 11, then we're fucked. And you know what I mean? So those are the stages. Yeah, those are the stages. But what we have in Louisiana is just an insanely fertile back yard of football players, where if you can get those guys once every couple of years, you're gonna have a real shot. Indiana doesn't have that, so process is even more important. Yeah, it's a fair point. And I also think, I mean, there is that, but also they lost the husband winning trophy quarterback. They had more players drafted out of Indiana than has ever been drafted before. So it was reasonable to assume that like, hey man, that's a lot of people to replace, and there are a lot of other teams that have a lot of other talent. And so your point, then, it's just like, yeah, 'cause we know that George is gonna reload. We like, we've seen it. We know that Texas can get basically whoever they want. That's what Oregon is now too, and Miami. But with Indiana, it's like, we just haven't, we haven't seen it yet. Like, we just don't know what the future holds for you. And I would bet on them consistently being a really, really good team. But last year, they had the husband winning trophy quarterback and still I'm gonna call it a day. What are you doing, Joe? They still lost the Penn State. Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe. Wait, what's happening? They still lost, what? Yo, what are you doing? What? You doing this type of shit on purpose? Why are you saying the husband winning trophy quarterback? Is that what happened to the girlfriend? I knew it was coming out wrong. But I just didn't, I couldn't, I couldn't, you doubled down. I liked it. I didn't. It was a, it was a, it was a, it was a trophy to lane. A little bit. A husband trophy winning quarterback. So let me ask you this, Joe. It's interesting. What you just did, bro. Because, you know, you're talking about the fact that they, uh, they lost the husband winning trophy quarterback. But I would think that you would, I would think that you would be all on it. Because, I mean, they reloaded it with the monster power energy quarterback of the year. Monster 12, energy 12, monster 12 quarterback, uh, Hoover. But I noticed that when it's time to like really put on, you didn't do it. You didn't say, hey, they lost the, husband winning trophy quarterback, but they put on with the monster quarterback of the century. You basically after like, no, they replaced his mother fuck. Yeah, they were there. I heard they were calling them big 10 meat. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. Big Beach. Yeah, big 10. Oh, shit. Doesn't it go BMF? Yeah. Yeah. Hold on. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. If you're going to bring big meat Hoover, you got to bring the tigers in the club, you can't be fucking around. Like, you got to bring the tigers in. You got to have a billboard. The world is yours. You got to have all the shit, right? Yeah. He big beach. Big 10. Big 10. Beach Hoover. Huh. Monster power. Beach. Yeah. I mean, look, I think that Hoover is going to be very good, but he could be very good and not be the husband trophy winning quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. He could still be that. They had a court court, Curtis Rourke, who preceded Fernando Mendoza, was a very good college quarterback. Right. But it didn't all go together and things, so many things got to work for you to win a national championship. In the end, it could have easily lost that Miami game. They could have easily lost against Penn State. They could have lost against Ohio State and trophy quarterback. Yeah. trophy. Winner going. All that has to go right for you in a year after year. I don't think that's going to happen. I don't think that's the shot at them. It's just the reality. Does the train continue? Do you think they end up unranked at the end of the season, Joel? I don't think they'll end up on rake because I think they're still much better than a lot of the people in their schedule, but you know, if they lost three games, it wouldn't surprise me. I guess that's the best point differential after the first six weeks. I think they're going to blow people out to start the year. I think they will too. I guess what I'm trying to say in our Philly, as always, is, do you, do you believe in not the, fuck the product? Do you yet believe, yet believe, believe, yet, whatever, what are we doing today? In the DNA of Indiana football, because if you believe in the DNA of Indiana football, like you believe in the DNA of, I don't know, Georgia football. You believe in the DNA of, I don't know, fucking or football or whatever, because if you look at it over the past three seasons, their accomplishments have been on par with those programs. No, they have a, they have a playoff appearance and then a dominating national championship victory. So they've been better than most of those programs, right? If you prepare everything that's going on. So what I'm saying is if you believe in the DNA, then that puts a floor on how bad things can get for them, particularly with a coach that has this much nutrition to what it is that he does. No, I agree. I mean, as long as Kirk's dignity is there, I believe that they have the potential to always at least be a top 15 program, right? But, you know, Kirk's dignity is 64 years old, maybe, maybe 65, I presumably he's not going to coach forever. I mean, he may not even have that long of a run, and then it'll be, well, this is Indiana football again. What are you without the best coaching history? So, but yeah, no, as long as Kirk's dignity is the, that's coaching history of Indiana or best coach in history, Indiana, now I would say that's it. I just, in Indiana, I had the best season in college football history last year, though. I do think that. Oh, wow. All right. You say Indiana had what? The best season. I didn't say there was the best team. I think they had the best season of any national champion in college football history. Oh, interesting. Why do you think that? Well, I mean, not only was it the manner in which they won those games and the expectations going into the season. I can't use that, though. Hmm. You can't use the expectations. Why not? Because the expectations don't matter when the full season is taken in its totality. I, I, who cares, like who, like it, like, I'm talking about a story, though, I'm talking about a narrative. So this is all part of a narrative and part of a narrative that you would like to do in that conversation. Yeah. It's just like, nobody saw this coming. Yeah. Nobody in Indiana saw this, whatever happened in history, then they went out and won and they beat all these heavyweights. They beat Miami. They beat Ohio State, you know what I'm saying? They beat Oregon. They beat the dog shit out of Oregon twice, you know? Okay. And it's just what this is the only thing I say to that. So they beat. So tell me who they beat again. I said Oregon twice. So Oregon's never won a national championship. What did I got to do with it and what I'm saying is they are a great team. But like when you say, when you say beat, beat these, they might have won, but they haven't won in a, I'm not, if they might have won back in the, oh, Smoky Johnson days or whatever. Wait, who? Wait, who? The Oregon. Oh, Miami as a team. They were going to basketball. They won the first basketball. Yeah. Miami as a team is a team that is reestablishing their identity. Right? But wait, wait. I mean, so look, I mean, the thing is either you use, you're using a different argument than because you're saying Miami, they're not, they're, they've won championships, but those championships don't count. But then you say Oregon never won any championships or let me, let me tell you, let me, let me, let me tell you what I'm trying to say. This one's saying, those are both, those are both really good teams, right? Yes, like I'm not taking anything away from Indiana at all. If they're the best story of a national champion, ever, that's one thing. You're with it saying that they have, they're the best, they, they had the best season is a different thing to say because if you're going to say that they have the best season, then you have to put a bunch of teams in there. There are teams in there like like Texas, the Vince Young Texas team. Forget 2019, LSU, which everybody is going to go to me, bring it up. Forget them, put them out of it, just just for the sake of our or 2014 TCU. Forget that. For yeah, forget them. Fuck, about 2010, 2010, TCU. OK, so like, look, if you look at other squals, if you look at the Texas team with Vince Young, right, when you think about the way that they won that game against a team that people thought was the greatest college football team of all time, right? When you were one of the best dynasties of all time, one of the best dynasties. I don't think it was a dynasty in any way, shape or form. When you look at it and the totality of it, Oh, it's the LSU and you coming up. But go ahead. No, it's not, it's not LSU and LSU and U.S. But I, but I'm saying it, but whatever, though, whatever, though, they, that's, that's a team that was chock full of talent. Too hard to trophy winners the whole nine, right? Texas does the thing. Then Cam Newton, you look at a bunch of different squals like that. It's like these teams have to go through heavy weights and all of that stuff. I don't know that I look at Indiana and say that what they necessarily did was like better from a season perspective than a lot of those other teams. Let's look, let's look at it. Yeah. What I was going to say is that they beat the defending national champion in a big, in a, in a big spot. And it was, oh, how state was undefeated at that point, right? Yeah, they were because they were number one going into that game. Yeah, so they beat them, but they beat the defending national championship with a first-year starter quarterback. Uh, so, so what I'm saying is all of that, like, like, all of that stuff matters. Like LSU beat Trevor Lawrence and Clemson in the national championship game. They'd be Jalen Hertz and Oklahoma. They beat like, and they, and they, and now we did, they beat these teams. They fucking destroyed them. Yeah, right? They, like, they destroyed them. So if you're going to look at, and I'm, and this is not take anything away from nobody. He's gone 16 to know and cost football and over a hundred. It was Costa, you know, how many are Costa 130, 40 years? So there's the first 16 no season since it, like, even before they even thought of it. And black people, but they don't, they didn't have any games. That's, yeah, yeah, but they, but there's more games in the season now, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, so, but that, but that's part of what makes it one of the best season and history is that they had, not one of them said the best. Yeah, the best season, the best season in college football history. They had to win more games than anybody else did against elite competition. Like it's not one thing to play in a semi-final and maybe be, be to over match number four team, like Cincinnati or whatever, because, you know, that's how they did the polling back then. But it's a different thing when they had to play against a series of great teams. They had to win like three extra games to win a national championship. That should, I mean, I think that counts in the calculus for me. But again, including a championship game, right? Yeah, including a champion, but again, I'm also including, so this is my version of a best season of the year. If Van wants to have his best season of the year, you should come up with the best season of the year. Best season of the year, best season, the college football history. Best season of the year would be, you know, it's kind of funny, Van, because in a distance from where I'm looking, I do have my eyes are bad. You kind of look like that picture of future when he's like standing against the wall. You know, you don't fit on talking about sensational. So this, this is what I said about this is our thing about Indiana season. If you're talking about best season, because when you start comparing every, when you start looking at best season, ever, you have to compare, you have to start like asking questions and stuff like that, right? So they be Penn State by three. Yeah, right. They be with maybe the playing of the season. Wait, you're arguing with me about, wait, I didn't say, again, I didn't say that with the best team ever. You said they had the best season ever. So I would say having the best season ever is playing all of these top 25 teams, all of these great teams and destroying them all. All right, see, I'm just saying, I'm, again, I'm talking about storyline, Van. I'm like, oh, that was a great, it was a great game to win. It was just, yeah, it was, yeah, it was a great, it was great. If you, if you were in Indiana more, just answer the question, answer the question. If you were a coach, what college football fan has felt better than Indiana fans felt last year? Do you think any college football fan base is ever felt as good to win a national championship? Is Indiana fans? Now, see, here's the, now, here's, now, here's the problem with this. This is the problem with this. This show, I'll say Auburn 2011. Bro, you don't know shit about winning a national championship. Okay, all right, all right. This is how I know this, this is how I know this. Because every team, besides maybe the Bama people who got used to it, feels that good about winning a national championship in a high-send trophy. Cam Newton, Cam. Cam. Auburn, I'm 10 years ago. I told you about his national championship, they fired their coach to you. Auburn going crazy. That's how he felt about it. They fired your black ass. But there's some things he came back. That's what I'm saying is, bro, because he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a, he's a national championship, Joe. It's a national, so you don't think, George, you finally got over the hub. Hold on for a second. George had been knocked on the door, knocking on the door, knocking on the door, knocking on the door. Clemsons again. I think knock, knock, knock, knock on Lodion. Like you don't think when, when, when, when, when George, you're finally got over the hub, they felt amazing. Clemson, after years of Clemson, and not winning the national championship, finally get over the hub. All of those fans have looked at their rosters and looked at their circumstances and been like, we could be doing better. In the end of fans, not once in their life, probably looked at that, look at their roster, look at their tradition and history and say, Joe, we just would never have them. Joe, it's coming now, as they established tradition, yeah, in football, it's coming. And I'll tell you how I know, because those Indiana football fans are old Indiana basketball fans. Yeah, they got into the Bobby Knight of football now. All right, exactly. So if you ever wanted to see a tortured fan base that was asking, when are we going to get back to the glory days, when are we going to be able to do it like we used to do it? I said Thomas Scott and all of these people, Scott me, when are we those people that Indiana basketball fans had a distinct set of expectations that was tied to that logo and to that school. So it's definitely going to happen. It just hasn't happened yet in the football program because it was a pleasant surprise. I mean, I mean, but that's something that was all the elements of what made it so special. Like, they never thought it would happen. There were these great dramatic highs. And then they had to just really endure the brutality of a season and figure out like, oh, no, our team is actually great. And then when it gets one of the premier blue chip programs and cause football history, that's why I say that. You know, I'm saying, but obviously we just disagree. But the, hey, it's all heavy. Yeah, I don't think I like to change it, though, Joe. But I mean, you know, I mean, but again, again, TCU win number, you know, them going undefeated in 2010 winning the Rose Bowl is incredible. Like, I was so excited. I was, for some reason, I was at OVMU Haley's house watching that Rose Bowl. Who? OVMUHaley. He was a former fullback for Baltimore Ravens and Atlanta Falcons. He played at Wake Forest with my homeboys. And so, I don't, I guess maybe we, yeah, we must have watched the game in this house. I mean, the thing that was kind of annoying, we got there. OV was watching this real. Cause he was trying to get on TV, local TV. And he was watching this. He's making us watch this real event on TV. And the game had started. The Rose Bowl had already kicked off and I had to tell my boys, I hate man. He told OVMUH to take that to another room or something, dog. Cause, you know, he came back. Now the game, then the game came on. Then the game turned, then we got to watch the game. And I was running, now I was running all around this house. I was so excited. And even I think that what Indiana did last year is even more incredible than that. And TCU, I say, always say, is a miracle program. It should not exist. There's no reason for any of the last things that have happened over the last 20 years have happened at TCU. And yet it has. And I still think that what Indiana did is even more incredible than that. Because it's more incredible, because they won. That's what was more incredible. Because they won a national championship. Yeah, 637. Well, I mean, going under the name, winning number two on the road. And shit, you talking about it. It's like, yeah, they won, bro. They won the fucking shit. They won it, you know what I'm saying? So shout out to them. But I'm looking at, you know, LSU against Alabama on the road. You know, that was, that was a tight game. You know, I'm giving it, but that's Bama though. You know, that's Bama. That's fucking nigga. That's tour and fucking two or one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL of all time. Top five. Great answer. And you know, Devanta Smith is like, you know, it's niggas out. It's, it's dudes out there. We're going crazy, you know, and and I shout out to Indiana man. Shout out to Indiana. Yeah, shout out to you. No, you know what I'm going to say this though. You know what I'm going to say this though. I'm going to say you know what I'm going to say. Do you think Indiana is going to have a Justin Jefferson, Anna Jamar Chase, Anna Joe Burrow from the squad? You think they're going to have that? Well, I mean, when Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are doing well at the next level, we look back and, you know, that probably helps the argument for them. Beat no house, Tate and championship game, right? You know, beat me. Be careful of styles, Arville, yeah, that defense, a historic defense. They beat that team. Yeah, they had niggas. I was 30 on the team. No, I'm just joking. Look, it's no, no, no, seriously, no, all jokes aside, seriously. I personally think, I personally think that what Indiana Day last year was one of a kind of super magical and special, no doubt about it. I don't know. I think we should do a ranking of the greatest seasons in college football history. - Yeah. - It was teams, 2019, all of you. - It's good all season content for next week. - Are we not at the top of that list? That's the Miami team, which had everybody on the team drafted in the first 10 picks. Everyone went, the water boy got drafted and he drafted the general manager and team. He drafted the, they drafted the fucking office and coordinator, all the analysts got drafted. You can't, there's not a better fucking team than a team that every nigga off the team goes in the first round. - No, she can't butch Davis on the show. - You're like, you can't, you know better than every nigga on the team getting drafted in the first round. Like they drafted the fucking equipment girl. She got to continue in 21, everybody got drafted. That team is a dog ass team and nobody can fuck with. But as far as the season, I don't know if it gives better than 2019, L, dance, you, baby, the fucking talker of my boy. - We'll figure it out. - We'll work through it. One last note on the top 25, Clemson. First time since my freshman year in college at Clemson is not in the AP top 20. - Wow. - 21. - Wow. - I mean, man, with, again, I talked about that last week. What do they, he says their roster has a bunch of nobody's. Not, nope, that's what he said about the team that he has. And so I'm inclined to believe him and evidently the voters believed him as well. - Yeah. And they just figured out the quarterback position. Vecina's gonna be the starter. I still think that Tate's gonna end up starting for them. But we'll see. Tate spelled T-A-I-T, by the way, for everybody looking at him. - Tate. - What does this mean? Does this mean that the, the national media? Because let me tell you guys something. - They're out on that, though. - That's what it means. So it is one thing for your team to consistently disappoint and on the field, right? Because what'll happen is your logo will still do heavy lifting in rooms that your team is not in. Your tradition in your program will still do heavy lifting in rooms that your team is not in. The name of your coach, the recruiting class that you brought in. That will still glamour people into believing that you have a program that's an elite program. But then there comes a day where you prove them wrong, where they don't believe anymore. Where it's like, it doesn't dabble's name, don't matter. The recruiting class don't matter. The blue chip ratio don't matter. None of that stuff matters anymore. These guys aren't what they used to be. And like, there are just very few coaches and very few programs that when they go there, they come back from that where they change. - That's right. - I remember Joe Paterno being able to stay off kind of getting right out, right? And he got a few years and then they, they, you know, they were pretty good. - Different media landscape as well. - Well, that's the thing. And that's why I just, I don't think I, we talked about this last week. I think that it's brooding here in the end here for dabble, man, 'cause I don't think they're gonna move them still though. - I, I mean, I hear you, I mean, I get it. It just depends on how long they're comfortable. Look at that team lose four or five games a year. And, you know, maybe that, maybe they want it, maybe they want enough championships that they can suffer that. But again, the landscape is changing all around them. And at some point, Clemson's gonna have to show improve 'cause it's like, is North Carolina in head of you? Is Florida state ahead of you? Is Miami ahead of you? And this next, this next realignment, you guys are starting jokin' yourself there. And Clemson can't afford to be bad at football right now. 'Cause I'm in Virginia. - Yeah, Virginia might have even been in that conversation. They could jump them at some point. So it was me. - Yeah, me. - Yeah. - Virginia Tech. - Virginia Tech. - Virginia Tech. - I mean, Clemson doesn't, Clemson doesn't bring, they don't bring any TV. You know, it's not, you know what I mean? Like, it's not, like, there's not a huge market there. They could easily just be down there and the group of six with the rest of us at some point. I'm not saying it could be, what are you talking about? - Be careful. - Yeah, it wasn't my way. - It's crazy. - Yeah, you going, bruh. - What does it sound like? Monster power in me. - Yeah, this is a big dwell prop again. - It's a top of the game. - You're just gonna get a monster right now. - Monster power. - I'm just saying. - Propaganda. - They are, they are. - What you talking about? - It's T.C. you right now. I mean, we're like, I mean, goodness. - And B12 is a better conference in the A.C.C. And I mean, you played against Clemson, T.C. I mean, actually, the last two times T.C. was play Clemson, they beat Clemson, okay. But also, I mean, it's you. - It's T.C. - It's got four teams in top 25 A.C.C. - Who do you think will be favorite? Who do you think will be favorite T.C. - You played against Clemson this year. - Right now? - This season? - Clemson. - It'll be tight though, right? - No, I think if you touch down, I think Clemson by seven. - Okay, look, and you're talking shit. Now you're talking shit. Stop. Hey, man, you know what? Because of this shit, man, I'm gonna be giving you minute by minute fucking updates from Dublin, bro. - I promise you. - Yeah, let me take a step. We'll know what it is. - It is the top dog in that game. They're favored by a touch down and a half a point. - Before we hear all this though, this right here makes me super, duper nervous about the Clemson LSU game, boy boy boy. As an LSU fan. - A lot of pressure. - These are the types of games that we would, we have been fucking up. In the past, no. In the past, it was like, oh, you coming in here, you on one leg, we LSU, we get busy. - Hmm, I mean, recently. - A few years ago. These are the games that LSU fucks up these games where we supposed to win the game. And we got the team, we got all of this. The talk coming out of LSU camp is so crazy. The defense looks good. Everybody's starting to get their C legs, Trinidad's green, there's a preseason all American. All of the talk is good. Let me feel healthy. - Harlem Berry, what's with the Harlem Berry looking like? - This like Harlem Berry is maybe the second back. Okay, Durham right now looks like he's running with the threes, the transfer guy. - What? - And there looks like he's, yeah, Durham has been running with the threes and the LSU practice. - Man, Durham, come on home to TCU, bro. - This coming home. - Like Durham been running with the threes. We'll see how they use them, though, but it's a good one. - So get it back, bro. - Yeah, but what I'm saying right now is that, like having said all of that stuff, this is the kind of game to where if LSU has it like that, they can go out and win. 'Cause this will reinvigorate the Climbs and fucking program if they lose this fucking game. - It's the battle for Death Valley. Last year, LSU stole the Death Valley and the Tigers' name back. So we'll see what happens this time. - We just thought that was a Titanic battle at the time last year. It was like, man, we thought that game really mattered. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Maybe that's a good lesson to learn, though. We can't overreact if we want to start. - Shut up. - Let's get to one big question. And we can all give one for this. What's the number one storyline of the 2026 college football season? Now, I would say most likely the lane train and LSU, I would assume that would be the one, but you get archmanning that could be in the mix there. Maybe Indiana's redemption story. Maybe Oregon going for their first national title. Van, I'll go to you first. What's the number one storyline of the 2026 season? - The number one storyline is that it doesn't matter who starts and running back for LSU because the room is so fucking loaded that while Joel is trying to make Keaton Durham transfer and-- - He's from the DMW. - He's an ideal W. - I get it, you know what I'm saying? I know why you're trying to do stuff like that. It don't matter who start, though. 'Cause everybody gonna get touches, Barry gonna get touches, Jones gonna get touches, everybody gonna get, we got a bunch of negatives. - Everybody's eating. - You can get a lot of carries. You can get a lot of carries, TCU, bro. I'm thinking about 15 of game at least. - Bro, and you're gonna average like eight yards of carry in the monster power, a big throw, man. And you're gonna wear a monster patch. - Yeah, man. - Yeah, I want a monster patch because you're more likely to play in the monster, as it's seen in the National Semi Final at TCU than you would have LSU, but go ahead. - I mean, maybe, maybe, continue. - Maybe, where the niggas at now? Where are they now, is all I was saying. But look, I'm still going with, Lane is a big deal. I'm still going with the number one storyline being Archmany. To me, I am still more interested in watching Archmany play than any single player in college football. Guys, the hype works on me. But the last name works, you know, I'm playing with Peyton Manning on a fucking Madden '06, '05. Peyton Manning, Archie Manning, Cooper Manning, the Manning cast, all that stuff. The celebrity culture that is infested are putrid American psyche. It works. And I'm still interested in whether or not this team quarterbacked by this kid with this name can reach the mountain top. I think LSU is up there. I think Indiana, and what happens with Indiana will be a fascinating story. I think one of the underrated stories are the coaches, the new faces and new places, you know, Matt Campbell, Franklin, all of these guys. That's another wise story. Lane Kiffin, all of these guys, right? That's a story that we're going to see if some of these programs-- Chesney. Chesney. Chesney. The Twinkle. The Twinkle. Yeah, absolutely. Summer all at Florida. Summer all at Florida, the new place. Goldish at Auburn. Goldish? All of these winning him? Winning him? Yeah, winning him in Michigan. Winning him in Michigan? That, to me, is the story of college football because some of these people-- these are not people who took jobs that, like, I don't know, TCU. These are people who took jobs at Real College-- football brands. They're talking Florida. We're talking about Penn State. We're talking about these are Michigan. We're talking about real brands, who've raised the trophy, right? So to have these coaches in these places, I think that's like a story that matters a lot too. I'm with it. Joe, what about you number one storyline? Well, I couldn't pick everything because I was like, I figured out we're going to pick Lane, so I had to move in another direction. And so my thing is a driving storyline throughout the year is going to be how the nine game schedule affects the SEC and at what point they start wanting about how three losses or maybe that's the number one story of the season, you think? Yeah, where's going to start? You think scheduling is going to be the number one story? Yeah. Well, I was going to be kiffin, but I felt, did you want me to add kiffin again? Do you want me to say a little something about kiffin? You know, because we already Yeah, let me give you some kiffin. I mean, yeah, he said, I mean, I'm looking, I'm excited to see like we so close to my favorite time of the year, brother. I'm going to be so close, man, you guys we're a brother. I can't wait. Oh, bro, we are, you're not that excited as me, dog. I could tell bro, we weeks away, bro, we so you're with weeks away, bro, like I swear to god, kiffin, if you let me down, bro, the hood is coming back. The hood is coming. We're so fucking close to my favorite time of year, but we got the monster power energy league. We got, we got too much full ball. I think he's going to surprise some people this year, man, we got that care from Harvard, Jayden Craig. I could see us doing a few things. You think number one storyline of the season, Jayden Craig at TCU. I just know what storyline is Lane Kiffin, but how many times was I supposed to say Lane Kiffin? I would have said we all said I'm just backchecking you here. We should have tracked it. I mean you get me because I was trying to do some research outside of Lane Kiffin off of something else. Other than some platitudes about Lane Kiffin. Tate, you know what I'm saying? But yeah, so so art. I mean, I'm just number one for band Lane Kiffin is number one for you. I'll give you mine and then I'll get your reaction. Okay, Trinidad Chambers. I don't use the number one storyline is Trinidad Chambers. I think Trinidad Chambers is going to be this terrible thing to say about this young man. People care about Lane Kiffin a lot more than they do Trinidad Chambers. No, I think Trinidad Chambers is going to win the Heisman. Oh, you're calling me. Okay, give me your house a finalist then. If you also if you if you that type of if you if you are hell of a nigger, if you hit like the controls and whites, I think I think you're a man or a Malacca Antonio will be in that mix for my if you are hell of a nigger. So tell give me give me your give me your give me your give me your finalist then. I think that you know my name is going to have one one guy. I think it's me. Mensa or Malacca Antonio or Barcai by the way who's a little bit underrated coming out. So I think those three won't be. That's not gonna happen. Well, I'm just watch out for that. I think he's getting a lot of looks. Don't watch it. You don't need to watch him for no damn Cooper Barca. He ain't but. Well, then Mensa will be the one there for Miami. I think Trinidad Chambers will be there. I think there will be a defender on the D line from Texas Tech that'll be in there. And then the fourth guy, my yava from USC. More? This is it. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. That was a that was a terrible husband list. I think I think that. Yeah, that's not gonna happen. I think Oregon's gonna see USC early. That was bad. No, we gotta give tape. No, thumbs down. You're gonna see even a dog. You gotta give tape. I'm just trying to go. I'm trying to do that. Okay. Let's go. I'll do my list. A line from Texas Tech. At D line. There was one last year Joe. Joe, do you watch last season? Yeah, I did. Oh, you did. Did you watch? Oh, my god. Wait. Oh, I missed it. Did I miss it? David Bailey. David Bailey. Yeah, David Bailey. He was oh, David Bailey was high as a final assessment. I missed it. Okay. Yeah. He was in the conversation. I'm talking about. Okay. Okay. Oh, look, this is what he was talking about on his team. Dante Moore. Okay. Okay. I'm worried about Dante Moore losing the USC. Okay. I think Dante Moore gonna be there. Okay. Dante Moore. Mm-hmm. Arch. Mine. Oh, okay. I don't see it. Why? Archman and going. I think Archman and going to New York, bro. I'll tell you right now. If he goes to New York, he can't lose more than two games, right? Yeah, they have to go at least 10 and two. They have to go at least 10 and two. I think you I think Archman and going to New York, bro. Okay. I like it. And Archie, Jr. Okay. So, so, so I do. I think Chandler's is going. I don't know if he's going to win. I think he's going. Sam Levin and LSU, bro. Okay. All right. I think he's going. All right, Joel. I've been watching a lot of stuff. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. My dark horse to go to New York. A lot of people are going to be mad because Sam's not in this, but there are a lot of people who are a little low on saying they think saying this take a couple of steps forward. Look out for car. At note. C.J. Car. No, that's a. That's a. That's a. They've throwing up through. Look out for C.J. Car. So, y'all know that Levin was a homer pick for me. Yeah. Of course. Look out. Look out for C.J. Car. At Notre Dame, bro. There's like, if you just listen to people talk, if you talk, they, when they talk about him, they don't talk about like right now. They don't talk about arm strength, mobility, all these physical gifts and stuff like that. When they talk about how good he's becoming, how good he looks and camp and other, they talk about quarterbacking. Talk about feel, command, touch. They talk about the art of the quarterback position. It's very important. And we just have to remind everybody last year. We were talking a lot about K-Clobnic, Garrett Nussmire, you know, and I mean D.J. Lackoy, and I cried. I crunched enough to tell you none of the motherfuckers are going to be good. And I, and I was, I was right. We get to pull the tape on that. I don't think you said, please. I don't think you said free is. Get the tape because I told you Billy is going to find that. Yeah, Billy, you find it. I told you the club, Nick, and Nuss, and I think Van and I got taught a disagreement. That's why I was trying. He was. He was. No smire is a fair point. But I think Lackoy, I say, Carson Beck was going to have a big year. Van also said that. Van Van said Carson Beck. Yeah, I want my husband finalist of what? Yeah, we do. Jay Craig. No, stop it. Julian Sand, Dante Moore, CJ Carr, Josh Hoover, Darian Mensa. Let's try to. Don't try to, don't try to act like you fuck with Josh Hoover now. You can play by the turnovers. You said that they lost the husband, went in Crow, husband, trophy, went in quarterback quarterback, and then he was like, and now they got a deal with a nigga. What about Gunner Stockton? You can throw him in there too, Joel. You know what? I don't know if he statistically is going to do well enough and also just don't think people will look at him and say, oh, that guy is good enough to be a husband finalist. In a year like this, when there's just a lot of talent at the top. So maybe that I ask you guys a question. Bobo's great. You guys a question. So Julian Sand didn't make a lot of our lists. Maybe my list is impossible. What about Jeremiah Smith? That Jeremiah Smith. They did so with you that they don't give it the saying over Smith. They're going to do it again. Let Smith has an incredible, you know, Larry Fitzgerald, just a year with 100 receptions, 15, 16 hundreds of yards, 12 touchdowns. If he does something like that, yes, but otherwise they're just going to do like always. They'll give those votes to Julian Sand. But we know saying is the best player on the team, but that's just how this works. So because Sand was there last year, you feel like Smith with all the talk around him can't get there this year. I mean, he could get there, but we know that they're going to split. If Jeremiah Smith has a great season, Julian Sand is going to have a great season. We're going to give our actual Heisman picks next week when we do our preseason award. So we'll figure it out. This is like a little or dirt. I didn't even know we have Billy said no. Oh, man, I don't know. You turned on your boy, Joe. Yeah, Joe. I know. I could see him being 13. I'll be 10 maybe something like that. That's a it's a it's a joy award. Joshua and Joe were in that league, but they brought in Derek Kordimenter him. That's how he is. I mean, come on, Joel. I think Joshua was going to be a very good quarterback. We're talking about Nico. Josh Hoover then escaped the monsters. Brian said his favorite thing about Joel was how much he defended Nico and now look at him. Yeah. I mean, I think Nico, I think Nico's going to do very, very well. But I just don't think that, you know, that doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement to me. He wants to be a mad. You wish you were with us. So all of this talk and you think they trash? Who's trash? Bro, so all of you are talking about Nico and now Nico got the twinkle on this side. a new practice facility. Good receivers. Yeah. Good receivers. Yeah. Did you see the Jordans? No, I haven't seen the Jordans. They look fresh. They look fresh. Oh, you mean the Jordan wall. Yeah. I did see the Jordans. Yeah. That's right. I did. That in a very nice weight room. It was really cool. I liked it. But that don't mean I think, look, man, again, they're going to be they're not going to be favored against USC. They're not going to be favored against Michigan. They well, they get Illinois at home, but Illinois policy will be favored against them. They're definitely not going to be fed against Oregon. That's at least four losses right there. And I don't know if they'll go undefeated against California and San Diego State. Joe, that's why they play the games. That's why they play the games. Did you think you see LA was going to beat Penn State last year? You know, come on. I had more faith in them. Y'all, motherfuckers did for that's for sure. Y'all wouldn't even nobody with nobody was defending Niko last year, but me. So why are you banished now? No, I think he's going to be a very good solid quarterback for a team that's going to win about seven eight games. That's great. You know, you know, the very positive you, Joel, you're not a lot of sales. You're not for sale. That's true. Us, we went out there. We saw the Nike wall and like, these are going to be the national champions. Yeah. We see the Twinkold. We saw that there on the nation. Yeah. And you're like, this team's going to be lucky to win four games. Bob Jesse is going to be lucky if he has a job at the end of the year. Oh, Joel, calm down. No, you are, I mean, you all are suckers, though, dark. I mean, I want you know that I'm going to get. I'm going to get Joe is the definition of you never know his next move. I'm going to give you the real. I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not going to, I don't have any agendas. You know, so I'm not going to. No, I said that team was very good and probably should have been in the playoffs, though, but the problem with that argument is at the 4C team won the national championship that year, which was Ohio State with the Zikio Elliott. I don't know. So it could have been you, but it was a great team. But yeah, I mean, I think they were one of the five. They could have won the national championship that year. Easy. I thought that team was more talented than the team that was undefeated and won the Rose Bowl. Just back on track, though, you have no agenda. I have no agenda. And so you know what I'm going to say. Vince, going to give you Sam Levitt as a husband fan finalist. You know, we know that takes part of the care a lot of mafia. You call games for FIU. So you're saying we're all compromised. You can say, I can wear this shirt and I'll give you real about TCU and what I feel about the program. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Did I not say it a little while ago? No favor. That, that, Did you just The bandwagon for Nico and now you're not even going to get into bandwagon is what we're learning y'all I mean, it's like I've know what built the arc and then was like you guys are good. Yeah, you all are on bullshit, and let's just move on Because you know, I mean nobody was talking about UCLA football for this long. They were already we already went over there. We too Yeah, we were just trying to bring up. We were trying. All right. What do you think of the running back in UCLA this year? We what do you think he's going to do what is we we're talking about? Tell me that UCLA running backs name tell me you say Let's run in back then right now Don't let go of any wood. Yeah, why don't you crunch the tape Joel and you tell us He's fallen over all right. So Nico no love from Joel for Nico He's off the bandwagon. So when Nico has a huge he's going to get a lot of help from Wayne night at you Transferred in from James Madison with coach Chasney. Well, I'll be honest Joel when Nico's going off this year You cannot jump you can't claim him anymore. Yeah, we're the Nico guys now. Not you. Yeah, that's that is false again The motherfucker, bro, you can't both ways, Joel. I mean, I don't think he can be a really good quarterback for a 7 or 8 win team Who's going to go into the NFL probably I think he might slide to the day two now? Oh, especially if he live delivers on all these gifts. I got just remember we're gonna clip this Interview with us if he would have done that interview with us this would have been a lot of y'all Say that Nico and you said I'm gonna go 10 and two meet man look, bro Todd didn't talk about Nico in his show You job have got to watch some of the Todd McShay shows about You know this quarterback versus this quarterback so be like Sam levitt vs. Derry and Mensa Archman vs. Dante Moore job watching you that content. Yeah, I'm locked in Come on Joel. All right, let's do it one big prediction We got power conference championship picks. We're also gonna do the pack 12 just out of respect to the pack 12 returning We're gonna start with the ACC I'm gonna give you the favorite and then you tell me if they're gonna win and if they're not gonna win Who is gonna win instead? So we'll start with the ACC Miami minus 150 as the favorite jaw go to you first Does Miami win the ACC and if not who does oh? No, it's gonna be AC I mean, it's gonna be Miami. I mean, this is they have not won the ACC since they joined I think this is the first I mean this would be one of those things like man one of them years They got to win it right I would think this is gonna be the year They've got the quarterback now Mario crystal ball is taking them to close to the mountain top So it's like all of the issues that we used to be concerned about with Miami in terms of like Losing you know losing the game that they're not supposed to now they've got so much talent that they can even outplay Some of those late game concerns people had about Mario and we don't even have those concerns anymore So and I mean with Malacca Tony you're your your husband final super barcade your favorite player mark mark flitcha They got it You know Mario knows how to rebuild the offensive line But I was actually thinking let yours another Heisman candidate potentially But the thing I was gonna say about Miami is and I took this for granted man that defensive line was fucking crazy Like they was amazing they were dope and if they get a little I mean the thing is they're not gonna get production like that again And I don't know how much they cover it up for everything else on that defense because it just they you know Bane and and and Mr. Dore Mr. Dore they made things so crazy for everybody that you don't know what it's gonna be Or whatever I'm making fun of fact that you fucked up the name. We still getting our season see legs on yeah All right, so you're Miami to win the ACC for the first time since For love that van Miami or someone else Our Miami's winning the ACC. Okay. I mean, that would be history SMU the second best favorite That's why you know that's overwhelming favorite the SMU is number two nobody knows anything about SMU this year besides Kevin Jennings Well SMU should be good Louisville should be good Clemson's there right after and then you get like a a clog of teams Pit VT Virginia in C state in C state could be a dark horse A very weak a very very weak conference. All right shout out to monster next up big ten Ohio State is the favorite Oregon right behind them Indiana USC Michigan that's your top five. So Van I'll go to you first Ohio State to win the big 10 or another team on that list This one was a tough for me was a tough one for me like with Jimmy Lee. It was a tough one for me for the Oregon So second best eyes there. So you're gonna take the ducks Joel. You were leaning the same way. He stole my yeah, he stole my thunder I was gonna pick I was gonna pick Oregon too, man. I mean, I just think they again. I don't think they have very many weaknesses They got a lot of depth and like I say if Dante more gets hurt. They've got Dylan Rayola. I just I Maybe maybe they just bring some drop off with the coordinators, but I think their organs are gonna be the best team in the in the league this year I'm gonna go chalk. I'm gonna take Ohio State to win. I think they get it done this year Okay, all right big 12 are sorry monster big 12 we'll get there the favorite is Texas tech right behind the BYU Then Utah then Houston with Willie Fritz. So there's your top four Joel monster big 12. This is what you love. This is what you know Is it going to be Texas tech or is there gonna be some team outside? It's gonna be Texas tech. I think that they're pretty clearly got the most talent They put them they've got the they've got the most expensive roster They've got the most effort. They dominated last year. They don't have the most expensive roster by the way They do not have a 40 million and a big 12 on it and a big. Oh, okay Okay, that's just been pointing that out. Joey McGuire was actually right about that. They spent it at this at 33 million. So less than 40 Yeah, which is it, but that's still significantly more than what everybody else is dealing with you know in the big 12 And so they've got that advantage and the person all the advantages and they've got once again a bunch of great another great transfer class Apparently Will Hammond is recovering from knee surgery and he's gonna be okay. So you gotta look at the one thing I would say to I don't understand why people think Utah is gonna be good this year now We can talk about that later at some point. Yeah, I just galley believer You know, they lost they lost the best coaching program history their offensive coordinator the best pass Russia and all five starting offensive lineman I don't would Well, they got Dan pier and they got way showing back. Yeah. Yeah, I mean all right good. I mean they can't I mean unless they can block You know and all of them getting thumbs up dark. There you go Yeah, yeah, so yeah, no, so I just I begin. Yes, I'm with tech Do if Texas tech does win. Do they score any points in the playoff or did they continue to be an embarrassment to college football now? I mean, I get made just on my conference powers Miami. Miami's doing a lot of work for y'all Miami's doing a lot of work for you and I can't say I'm gonna I don't have a we're gonna see if you have a lot to say What day is that game? What is it is it the 25th or what I don't know a game you're talking about yeah, you know a game. I'm talking about Put put me on a thread with Lombardi, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I'll get you. I'll get you What what about you then Texas tech or someone else Texas tech takes take Wow, if techs tech have sores to be They'd be like the top of college. Yeah Wait, what? Nothing takes taking on win the big 12. I missed that part. I'm Yeah, the question is who's the biggest threat outside of Texas take I'm taking BYU I think BYU is the big 12. Oh to win the league. Wow. Yeah, you think they are you Gonna win, huh? I do. I think it's a LJ Martin bear Bachmeier. I think this is their year It's a hockey stand signing the big contract. I just think this is a BYU the monster Mormons is what I'm gonna call I think that they're gonna win this year. It's not the same teams obviously the rosters have changed But I mean BYU didn't show me anything against Texas tech that made me think that they'll be able to cause the gap against them But it's really Texas tech defense. I mean that if you look at kind of the first team predicted on the big 12 It's like seven guys from Texas tech on the first team. So that's the difference. They don't even need an offense with that defense All right, then SCC Let's look at the favorite here to win the SCC obviously the Georgia Bulldogs We got Texas Oklahoma Alabama LSU Ole Miss a lot of good teams in the mix there Do you think it's Georgia or do you think it's another team outside of Georgia? Very tough Very tough to call Okay I have a lot of quality at the top, but I am going with Georgia The more I look at LSU. I think we're probably a two or three lost team Two losses we'll probably get us into playoffs and that would be awesome Oh, man, you think your team's gonna be hoes But no, I think it's Georgia Georgia has the least amount of questions for me Texas by far though has the most upside of any team in the conference To me Texas does because if you get a great play from the players who supposed to play great at Texas Yeah, Coleman right and we call men. Yeah, we go arch if you get great play out of these guys Then you look at at a team that could really really be one of the better teams As we've seen in the last couple of years in college football if they play to To the top of their potential where people believe their potential to be. You know They might not we don't even really know what arch's potential is Because we can't get a good assessment on his physical tools, right? Some people tell you he throws it like Vic throws it like Manning and runs it like Vic Yeah, some people say that it's all overrated. Some people say it's a two-star. So really we just have to play to evaluate But Georgia is steady. It's a sneaky important season for Georgia Like Georgia is a team in a program With Kirby smart That's has already relinquished Their era of college football dominance Right, that's already pretty much over but it's flirting With relinquishing their era of college football Big dickness Not the game You know Georgia being one of those teams that you expect to lose to Pity that way that you expect to lose to a Georgia team that is in question more than it's been in question before and um With Alabama a team that's almost completely lost that now Georgia In its future could be that No, it could be that everything else all the rest of these teams Um have questions to answer and ascension still to make that goes for A&M that goes for LSU that goes for Oklahoma Uh, and then you also have Ole Miss in there which uh will threaten will be a very entertaining team to watch But I don't think when the end of the year comes that Ole Miss will be a team that like you think is the top of the SEC I think too much happened. Yeah, there you go Georgia. I'm kind of with you. I'm with Georgia. Joel. What about you? Yeah, I'm I'm with Georgia as well and just this all guarantees that we're going to be wrong probably but um You know also our friend Bill Connelly at ESPN And I didn't know this but I maybe I should have suspected it that Georgia ranks eight overall nationally and Production returning from last year and they had one of the best deep the only the only thing people People were complaining about Georgia's defense last year all they were complaining about was that the past rush wasn't at the standard of previous years But that standard was ridiculous. I mean, I said it was good. It's like three first round picks. Yeah Nobody should be able to maintain that level of dominance So yeah, so but they were still very very good. They returned a lot of a lot of talent They're going to probably be better receiver this year. Nate Frazier has another year of of of of of experience and growth behind him So and yeah, man, I don't I don't think Gunner is a He's not going to probably play an NFL. He's not a great physical specimen But I just can't deny that he's been at the center some big wins that program He's a gamer, you know, he's got a little bit of that steps in it and where he just finds ways to win games and obviously last year They had Ole Miss there on the ropes and then gave him too much time and Chambers came down so I wonder if If Georgia would like to start winning with talented quarterbacks at some point Like if they would just give it a shot like we have what we feel for well, they were crude the talented quarterbacks Yeah, it feels yeah Yeah, we'll dive into that at some point All right, so they all like the Bulldogs, I think Oklahoma's a little bit of a sleeper You get throw in there if material has a big year. He's got to stay healthy. LSU could be a sleeper in there Um, I mean Alabama. We haven't even talked about what you have. I mean does a reason for that Got a lot to prove Mm-hmm could be a lot of proof But that could be a debor moment where he proves that we'll see pack 12 last one. Boise State is the favorite You got San Diego State Fresno State Texas State Washington State Utah State if the school has stayed in the name They're probably in the pack 12 now So Boise State or someone else in the pack 12 tool. Uh, I think San Diego State I kind of don't okay. This is a hype out here by the way for San Diego State is there a lot of talk about San Diego People like San Diego State. I would like to see that stadium. They got a new stadium there I mean, I bet that's just so fly man. I bet they're investing money in football quickly We should we should go to the game with San Diego State if we gonna go to the game dark I mean, they're basketball facilities awesome the VA out center. It's it's like built to do the ground and it goes all I mean, it's awesome. Yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun But yeah, but anyway, they're bringing back the quarterback. I mean he wasn't Amazing, but presumably he'll be a year better. They got a 1300-yard russia and lucky Sutton That defense was one of the best in the country last year like in terms of scoring and overall is like six and eleven respectively But They had a lot to replace because like any good mid major program a group of six program people come and take your best players So they got to be privileged. Yeah, and so we just got to see but I send you go say beat again send you say beat boys you last year. I haven't I don't like their quarterback is Maddox Maddox Madson Maybe because I have not seen him play games in conference. I've not seen him play a really good football game but You know, I just he's all they got on offense basically coming back this year and like that's what they got I just don't I don't think they could be San Diego State Okay, I like it Aztex Van what about you Boise State or someone else? I was gonna go a Boise State, but Joe talk me into it. I'm not gonna act like I know a whole lot about the packs well I just like that is back. I want the pack to this back too But this will be gotta go send to go state dark The teams that I'm really versed on here San Diego State and Boise State. I do like my you tall state Aggies Okay, okay, but um, but yeah Other than that. I'm not gonna act like I know a whole bunch of a whole bunch about the conference and what they bring in back I mean some of these teams is just getting a shot at the big-time college football situation Man, I'm thinking of a zoo by the way I'm wondering, yeah, okay. The old steady hand. Okay, because Jimmy Rogers was a fraud. They got him out of there Uh, I think they got a real coach now that loves a wazoo. So I think this is a big year for the fraud. Yes Wait hold on wait. Hey coach. I was eight. He's out of state. Yeah. Why did wait? Why do you think Jimmy Rogers so much? Well, because they had Zebby Ekhouse on the team the entire time And he wouldn't start him because he wasn't one of his guys And then they started losing the fans turning on him. He puts Ekhouse in and then they start winning games So uh, he coached it has like uh, you know, you're not one of my guys. You don't get the play. Yeah Well, I mean, well, you know what he He's gonna get it over in then some because I will state might be one of the worst teams in the people for yeah I mean, they're gonna be horrible this year So uh, uh, blessings to that man. We'll see. All right. There you have it all of our championship picks Let's get to the overreaction of the week, Van. This is in your willhouse. I want to hear your thoughts on this. LSU was informed that they no longer can use Jaden Daniel's name, image, or likeness, because superstar DJ Pickett, or maybe future superstar, I should say, was allowed to wear the number five. DJ Pickett is currently expected to continue wearing number five, despite the letter from Daniel's attorney to the school. This has all been a big storyline. And they're putting out clips of DJ Pickett in practice showing how good he looks in the number five. What's going on at LSU, and what's going on with this whole kind of number situation, Van? But this is really interesting to me, obviously, because I have a soft spot for Jaden Daniels, and everything that he meant to LSU. And really, the only championship that LSU has won recently is that husband. That's a huge thing. That means a lot to a school. Short of winning a national championship or a conference champion, the highest and trophy, is probably the highest accolade that a team can get beyond that. That's a thing that stills matters. Like how many fucking national championships do you have? How many conference championships do you have? How many husbands do you have? So it's very important, you can't. But I've looked at this a million different ways, and I haven't looked at this in any way that has convinced me to be on Jaden Daniel's side. On this, this seems like insane overreaction from Daniels and his team. Retiring jerseys is not something that really happens at LSU, they don't have that, right? And even if they did retire your jersey, let's say they retire burrows jersey. And the number one quarterback in the country decides that they want to come to LSU. And he got to have the jersey. They're going to give it to them. They're going to call them be like, "Yo, man, can we?" But they're not going to stop a blue chipper, like a real deal heavy hitter from coming into LSU and playing because of a jersey. I talked to one of my homeboys about that, and we talked about this. They're not going to stop that from happening. So this situation to where-- I think this shows just how much space there is between J and Daniels and LSU culture than anything else. I mean, this is-- I'm not in any way trying to excoriate him here, because I don't want to jump down the kids' throat or his team, but he plays for the commanders. It seems very strange. Yeah, it's like the whole story. So it's so uncomfortable for me to criticize him to the level that I feel like I should, because what he means to my team and what he's meant to my program. But this is fucking ridiculous. This is bullshit, if I'm being honest. The more I talk about it, the more I'm like, this is a petty, pedantic, much ado about nothing, ridiculous situation. It's totally, totally crazy. And we've seen so many examples of it. I mean, Dylan Gabriel War A, Marioto War A, he one time. This is like, we've seen so many examples where this is not even a talking point. So I personally just don't think this is coming from J and Daniels. I mean, it feels like it's camp, not really J and so. Don't let me do this. Don't make me-- but I'm just for a second, OK? Like, let me just say, I hate this for J and Daniels. But let me-- Let me just-- Can I walk you out through a scenario? Imagine being a renowned annum alum from a school, right? And you spent maybe one a couple years at junior college, but then you went to this big flagship state university. And you brought lots of prestige, good press, and tens of millions of dollars of revenue in your time there. The school respects your contribution so much that they decide to name a building or a street after you. And then all of a sudden, they'd be like, man, actually, somebody else wanted their name on that street. We're going to need to take that back. Nobody would say that booster was ridiculous. Or the school would-- they may say he was ridiculous, but they would probably treat him with a level of respect and deference that I wonder if J and Daniels felt. But they hadn't done that, though. They hadn't retired to Jersey. But then, they don't have to. They don't have a girlfriend. So what are you talking about? They don't have a girlfriend number. I know, I know. Joe, what you just said-- Look at you being-- look at you being an LSU professor. No, no, Joe, Joe, don't listen. What you just said is not analogous. What you just said is-- It is an ice. What you just said, let's say I give $5 million to LSU, and they put my name on the P-Mac. I actually want to do a movie about this, because I learned about this name and stuff. Let's say I play paid $5 million to LSU, and they put my name on the P-Mac. It's not the P-Mac anymore. It's the Van Lathen arena, right? Then somebody else comes in, and they really want them, or whatever. They don't pay the $5 million, and they just put their name on it. That's cool. That's what you're saying, right? Yeah, basically. Yeah. But they never put his name on it. They never retired to Jersey. But they never retired to the world circulation. No, it's understanding. I'm understanding, though. No, but what I'm saying is the Jersey hasn't been retired. And by the way, when Peaky came in, he said he won if I-- and they gave it to him. So in the analogy that you're using-- And it wasn't even Kiffin that said he could get-- It wasn't, yeah. It was a different-- They would go to an esteemed alum. You would come to an esteemed alum, and you would work something out. And I feel like-- It's Jersey was never retired. And I've heard. I understand-- I understand that this Jersey wasn't retired, but there's an understanding. And clearly, because Burrow has the same understanding, and lots of other schools have that understanding as well. There's just like, you may not retire my number, but nobody is going to wear it. Yeah, I mean, they don't officially retire. That happens in a lot of other schools. So I'm just saying-- and again, I'm not saying that Jaden Daniels is right, but what I'm trying to say is I'm wondering if he thought-- Oh, I thought, y'all respected me more than that. I wondered if y'all had more respect for me and what I did for y'all than that. And if he's hurt, then he would probably react in a way that they seemed outsized to that. But you don't get to be great. You don't get to be a number two pick in the draft without being protective of your legacy and how you're seeing publicly as well. Like, that's a big part. I'm going to tell you now you didn't brought it out of me. Jaden Daniels wasn't none of that before he got to LSU. But he wasn't none of that before he got to LSU. He owes that school as-- Jaden Daniels owes LSU really? Jaden-- when Jaden Daniels left like Arizona State, the T-- his teammates at Arizona State were celebrating the fact that he left. I love Jaden Daniels. No, they were hating. They were hating. They were-- Like, whatever, whatever, whatever. It was LSU that had Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik neighbors on the side of Jaden Daniels. It was LSU that had Mike Denbrock calling plays. It was LSU. Jaden Daniels is a phenomenal football player. And somebody who I will always be indebted to for what he did for LSU, one of the best offices we've ever had. But LSU did as much for Jaden Daniels as Jaden Daniels. Well, many people say this about LSU winners. So just think about it. Again, if I was-- if I want a husband, and people was talking about me like this, I'd be like, how many other husband winners get talked about like this? Well, I'll tell you straight up, I'll be like-- I'll be like, I'll be like, I'll be like, I'll be like, the reality is, like, here's the reality. The reality of the situation is what we're talking about now is the pissing contest that should have never happened. But the reality of this is, Jaden Daniels was a very talented player that got into a system and got around a talent base that existed at LSU and he maximized his shit. So what I would think-- I mean, that happened to Fernando Mendoza. That's Joe Burrell. I don't understand everybody that wins on us. I get it. I understand it. That I totally get that, especially since a lot of the players we see that when I was metrophysed now are transfer players. They didn't work out for them as much at first. But then they get to a place where they have a better situation around them and they can maximize their talent as players. What I am saying is for there to be some belief that the reverence or the respect in this situation goes one way that LSU in one way should hold him to some type of insane fucking reverence to where Jaden Daniels can't be wrong in this situation. I don't think that that's true. I think honestly, when you look at this whole thing and the way that this has been handled, this is bullshit. This is fucked up. I know. I agree. I agree. I'm not saying the Jaden Daniels is in the right here. What I'm saying is-- It's kind of what you were saying. But I'm saying I can understand why he may be like, y'all never talk about no husband like that. If some other dude came up to the school and y'all did something to his legacy, he changed it, and didn't come to-- presumably. And I've talked to somebody, some people about this story. - Presumably can be honest with you. - I know you talk to a lot of people about this story. - I know, I'm saying. - And just to be real, just to be real. I've talked to a lot of people about this story and everybody is being nice about this. - Oh, I know. - Just so you know, I've talked to a lot of people about this and everyone is being nice about this because we have respect for Jayden Daniels and we have respect for everybody around Jayden Daniels. Everybody is being nice about this and the way they talk about this. Again, that's what I'm saying. I was ready to jump out of the window on Jayden Daniels' behalf at first. - Ron Brown. - Especially when I saw people - Wait, what? - You said you were jumping out of the window. I said, "Ron Browns." - Yeah, man. - Do you remember that song? - "Ron Browns." - Yeah, "Jump in" out the window with this one. "Jump in" out the window with this one. - "Jump in" out the window with this one. - "Ron Browns" era? - I do remember it. - That's when all the two was everywhere. - I remember Ron Browns. - I don't remember that other one. - I don't remember that one, do you know what I mean? - Yeah, anyway, I know, I know the Jayden, and this is an oversized reaction. And I wish that they could come back together on this. That's what I'm saying. - All he has to do is go to a game, have a little moment on the field. Everybody's happy. I think if you're Jayden Daniels, this has just gotten out of control, you know? I think there's an easy way. You need to rate Donovan to come clean this up. You know, you need to rate Donovan to be like, "Hey, we got to get you down to Bad Rouge, we got to get you to do a game, we got to get you on the field, we got to make sure everybody knows it's cool." So, that's what it is. - I hope that I will have a DJ picket at practice. - And just to be real, like with LSU, the tradition at LSU isn't nobody ever wearing a number again. That's not the tradition at LSU. The tradition at LSU is who's the next 18? The tradition at LSU is who's the next 7? The tradition at LSU is a collective tradition. And Jayden Daniels ain't bigger than that. - Yeah. - I mean, I mean, as much as we care about and love Jayden Daniels, the tradition at LSU is 18. - Somebody is a collective. It's like the tradition of like Jayden Daniels ain't bigger than that. That's it. - Somebody sent me an example of all the times people have said what a husband would have wouldn't have done. Shit, if he hadn't come here. - And he's tripping about being protective. - That's not what I said. - What I said was this. - Jayden Daniels ain't that. - But I said, what I said was this is Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrell is playing it that way too. Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrell. Joe Burrell is a fantastic quarterback. He couldn't beat out the guys that were in the quarterback room in Ohio State for whatever reason. It was injury, it was whatever, for whatever reason. Couldn't beat out the guys that was in the quarterback room in Ohio State. Comes to LSU has one season that's good and that has another season that can't be quantified. It's better than great, right? But when he has that season, he has that season with Jamar Chase, with Justin Jefferson, with a team full of fucking animals put around him that existed at LSU, LSU is a part of that. Jayden Daniels is at Arizona State, right? Town to quarterback, whatever was going on with him and his teammates was going on. Comes to LSU has one year where he's still figuring it out. He's still figuring it out. Everybody is, but was a very important quarterback for LSU, a team that had an offensive line that wasn't quite ready to play, a team that was trying to reestablish themselves as a national power. But what comes out of that is a bunch of dogs from out the soil, a bunch of fucking animals around Jayden Daniels that became the best offense. - You got a son of like Kendrick. - I'm just being real. - I'm being real. So what we're talking about, who owes, who owes, who what? Jayden Daniels is great. I'm not about to hit on Jayden Daniels. I love Jayden Daniels. It's fun watching Jayden Daniels when I play with LSU players of all time. But come on man, like you think anybody that loves this. - I get it man. I do think anybody that loves this school, particularly somebody from Baton Rouge is gonna watch you kick their ass in on the way out the door, 'cause of a motherfucking number, fuck all that. No, I'm not doing that. This is ridiculous. And to handle it like this in the public, and try to make everybody look bad. And all of these goals are there. - I would argue that LSU is the president. - My argument is that actually LSU is trying to make Jayden Daniels look bad and they're being hosed by picking at it, but by doing it, it's showing the DJ picket shit on Twitter and all the other social media stuff. That's being. - What's your name? - It's trying to embarrass us. - That's their response to that. - I was like, wait, what you been doing? Like, you know what you're doing? What you talking about? - You did that first, and then you said that that would be different. - Show me the times that schools do that to a steam, the loans, they just don't treat them like that. - I think it's a specialty. - How many times does that happen? Even guys like get cracked out and go to prison, they don't treat them like that, man. - Bro, this is such a difference. It's a different situation than that. I know you're podcasting right now, but the reality is that Jayden Daniels essentially tried to embarrass LSU. - I think that's right. - And tried to publicly leverage LSU over a fucking Jersey number that like, like, I asked for his copy of the husband back all the time. - Listen to that, I mean, Jersey numbers are important. - So, no, well, Jersey numbers are especially important. It's especially important to have DJ picking in five right now. - Okay. - Because DJ pickers don't feel right now. And 100,000 people are going to go 100,000 people are going to go to Death Valley every Saturday night. Every Saturday to watch DJ picking and LSU do their thing right now. Because the tradition of LSU existed before Jayden Daniels. It was this after Jayden Daniels, it is bigger. - And then you know what the difference between, you want me to go further? You know what the difference is? - No, I don't go further. - No, I don't want you to go further. - I really don't want to go further because Jayden Daniels and everything that he's meant, he don't deserve that. But this was handled wrong. - It was handled wrong. - Everybody wakes up. - I agree. - This was handled wrong of everybody wakes up. But don't nothing come, but it bit, bit, bit. - Tell LSU to stop picking at him. And also to stop to stop making, to try embarrassing him at a time when public sentiment is already against him. I don't understand why they're doing that. And I know. - Why is public sentiment against him? - I mean, against, I mean, I don't know if it's against him. Everyone's just responding to how it's handled. - He's not really told the story. - And how do you think the story got out? - I mean, the story got, - Who benefited from this story getting out? LSU and Jayden Daniels. - I think that he, I think that they thought, I think that they thought it would be them. And now the things have changed, they're realizing that it's not, I think that they were thought that it would be them. Jayden Daniels is such a good representative of, of, and for LSU. Good young man stays out of trouble the whole nine. He got a lot to do in his professional career. Like if he, if, by the way, can I say something else about this? - Yeah. - If this were like 10 years from now, I would almost understand this better. But if this were like 10 years from now, I would almost understand, well, it's been 10 years and this school hasn't properly, like, - I know. - When I see Jayden Daniels do stuff in the NFL, when I see him go crazy in the NFL, he is all over LSU social media. It is forever, is forever five, going crazy. All it is getting so much support from the school. Yeah, forever five, it is like we love Jayden Daniels. But I see the love for Jayden Daniels. And maybe there's something different happening when I'm not around. I like, obviously I'm not in the locker room and shit like that, but we're not around, that's the fans. But I see them loving on him, posting highlights, all of that stuff, letting it, because that's the way LSU supports its players that I'm going on to the NFL and its players that I've done other things, right? But like, and so this right here to me, this is kind of like, man, I don't know. Like honestly, I don't know, I've seen all of them. - It seems off, it seems. - Yeah. - Well, there's something weird about this. And again, I just, again, I'm not giving what I understand and what I've heard about this and what, and I've had time to think about it. I'm like, no, man, I wish Dayton Daniels and him had handled this differently. I wish, you know, I wish they didn't trip. But I also wish that somehow there was some sort of dignified way that he could have felt whole and that he could have gotten the respect that he deserves. And I just, again, it's very weird for people to see what he's talking about. - It's weird to think, though. - Bring it back to bad roots. - Have him have a moment on the field. - Well, DJ Pickens. - Yeah, I would. - I hope that's it. - That is an easy fix. That to me is like, they've let it go away too far. So I think they can easily fix this for everybody involved. And if I'm Jayden Daniels, and I'm even the Washington commanders, I'm like, let's go ahead and knit this in the butt. I don't want this to be a talking point where, you know, every say, like, you know, you don't want to be people tweeting like, hey, Daniels threw a pick six because he didn't want it to be five. You know what I mean? Like, you don't want that joke to be, you know. - Did you come up with that off the cuff tape? - Yeah, I'm just, you know, digging down it. - Pretty good. - I ain't nobody gonna take this personally and hold this grudge for a long time. It's not the way things work down there. But I mean, it looked like it felt like that Jayden Daniels and his team were trying to embarrass LSU, because they were mad. - That would, to me, that's the emergency number. - Over and I'm like, I'm sorry. If y'all think, if you think I'm getting ready to or anybody that loves that school and that program getting ready to go through that and nobody going through that. - Yeah. I'm saying LSU football is the one that's kind of twisted in the knife right now. So to me, it kind of seems like. [BLANK_AUDIO] they're fine fire with fire. But let's put the fire out and shake hands. And let's get DJ pick it and Jan Daniels on the field together. I think that's the solution there. All right, we're gonna take a quick break. When we come back, we're gonna rip through top five headlines of the week. And then we will wrap up another episode of Ring Your Tailgate. We'll be right back after this. All right, we're back top five headlines of the week. And we'll start here. The prime effect is officially wearing off for TV networks following a three and nine season last year. Buffalo's might not be as big of an attraction to the national broadcasters such as ABC, ESPN, Fox Sports, FS1, TNT, TrueTV. And this is all told to front office sports. Then I'll go to you first. Why is the prime effect wearing off? And like where do we stand right now with Coach Prima Colorado? - It's probably wearing off because it's the culture of college football. I mean, that in two ways. So one way I'm gonna say it and everybody's gonna get it and understand it and not even fucking care that I say it, right? The culture of college football is about winning in dominance. So there's no such thing as a college football team that's just a fun team and a cool team that doesn't win anything. That doesn't happen. Even when Mike Leach had his most fun teams at Texas Tech and it's Mike Leach and all that stuff like that, they had to be kind of relevant on the field. You don't get like college football is not a sport for lovable losers, it's just not. I don't know that any sport at this level is, but particularly in college football where everything is on arms race, it's just not gonna be a brand that can be sustained in Colorado without them winning football games. Like too many people watch college football and all of them big time national games and they lost. And then it's like, what the fuck is going on? And then Dion is black. So the fact that Dion is black and the fact that he made his culture at college at Colorado distinctly black, then there were a lot of people who were waiting to turn off Colorado, who were waiting to turn the channel. Dion Sanders is in a really interesting situation is that the black people that watched Colorado, right, there are a lot of them that were casual fans, we're only going to watch as long as Dion was winning because when you come out there, like black people are pragmatic. At least the ones that I know and can speak for, I can talk to the people that I know. You come out there and you're doing all this stuff. If you're doing all of that stuff, you don't win, they're gonna be like maybe a little bit less big extra plug, a little bit more plug in the hole. And so that was going to be a thing that is going, that is going to be a thing that was going to turn them off. And then with DI, I can't not name this. A lot of people have been waiting on Dion to lose for 30 or 40 years. That's right. I think that's a big part of it. A lot of people have been waiting on Dion to struggle. They didn't like the effortlessness, the effortlessness effort, I said that. They didn't like the effortlessness in which Dion was excellent. And they didn't like to be told you about it. And they didn't like you told them about it. Like they didn't like the fact that Dion would come in there not strapping the gloves, rolled out of bed, go get you two pigs and a return, they didn't like that. So for a lot of people, this is his comeuppance. They're like, or they're getting near comeuppance off the fact that it's not working in Colorado. So they couldn't wait for it not to work. The worst nightmare for them was Deon Sanders actually being a relevant and successful college football coach over the long term. They hated that. So yeah, I think it's a combination of those two things. And I think as things go on, if Colorado does a shake back this year, you're gonna start hearing about it more. - And it's hard to sell your program and you're not winning. And at this point, you gotta sell your program to get guys to come to your program. And that seems to be a sticking point. He obviously had a high-spinned trophy when it were Travis Hunter. So he's had some high moments that an Oregon gaming and Dan landing feels like the time where it turned the other direction. Joel, what do you think about this? - Yeah, no, I mean, I think that's a big part of it. Is that, but the other thing that I was thinking about is that so Dion, as a TV product, was a family man, dog. So there were people that were familiar with him as a sports sensation. But there was also people that tuned in and have been watching him father his kids in front of them for years. - Yeah, he had a reality show. - He had a reality show going back to the mid 2000s. And like now, she do is gone. Shiloh's gone. You know, the daughters were never really, you know, part of this thing. And so like, he's just there. It's just Dion in Colorado was not a lot going on. So people were in Karuchi, man, in Karuchi. So they were invested in this story about prom because of the novelty of the story, but also because like many of these fans watched his kids and family grow up on camera. And when that's over, that's just him at a school that's not playing a marquee schedule and that doesn't have very much talent, you know? So yeah, I mean, why would you tune in if you were a casual fan to watch Dion right now? - A lot of it has to do with like, Shiloh's should do or two, of course. Like you were saying. - There'll be part of hackers. - Yeah, so like, do you guys feel like that no matter whether or not they were winning or not, that Shidor being gone would have like, soured some people watching Colorado as much as they were? - Man. - If they were still winning. - If they were, let's say, 'cause they, 'cause they went, what they go nine and three was the best they've ever, something like that. - Yeah, that's what you're trying to for, I think that, yeah. - Nine and four. So if they were still a nine and 14, right? But Shidor's not there. Do you think people will be as interested probably now, right? - Probably not. Yeah, I mean, also, you can't over the, they had Travis Hunter there too, you know? - Yeah, I mean, having a Hunter and having it. I mean, that was like, if he's Kim Kardashian, you had Kylie and Kendall, right? I mean, you had a whole, you had a show. - Now, it's just him. - It was also not healthy either, which is unfortunate. I mean, that's the other heart. - And to be honest with you, now that it's not just, not it, it's not him, it's only about the football. - Yeah. - And it being only about the football is kind of the measurement about whether or not the program itself is working. - Yeah, the thing is, we're gonna talk about this probably throughout the year, but like, it seems like Dianne only had one pitch, which was that I can get kids to come play for me because I'm Dianne, and you know, he also, like, pioneered that turn your whole team over, I have 80 different people. Where everybody's onto that now, and Dianne, when he walks into a room, then he doesn't go, he doesn't like to recruit, but when he did have to pitch to a recruit, they also like, well, how much are you gonna pay me, bro? Like, that's what's really the bottom line thing, and it's like, none of that. And these kids are born in 2007. Like, they don't even know who Megatron is. So, like, you know, trying to, is there dads and stuff that are trying to put them on prime and like, get them up to speed, and they might know the reality show version prime or the TV host version of prime, but they don't know prime time, you know? - I was just thinking about how old this must sound. Like, like, even Bo Jackson sounds like an old name, but just think about it for a 12 year old prime time. So, I probably sounds like an old musty-ass. - He sounds like E&T. - Nia, Nia, Nia, Nia, Nia, Nia. This doesn't matter how old they sound to a child. That's like, when you would hear about, like, Pop's Bill, you know what I'm saying? - Smokey Robinson. - Yeah, smokey Johnson. - Yes, he does. - That's only 'cause they don't have imagination enough any more of these young whippersnappers to have good nicknames. Your nickname now is just your initials. I mean, the Joker is a good nickname. - That's a good nickname. - Where's your number is a good nickname, but it's like, yo, kids, Joker is like, you know? - I guess, freak is a good nickname for Yannis. You have these. - But he has been around for a while 'cause Javit Kursk was the freak before that. - Wrong Kursk was the freak. - Yeah, but Greek freak is perfect for him. - The Greek freak, the freak freak. But like, now the nicknames don't, nicknames don't like, what are the nicknames? - I mean, it's not, they don't have him as much anymore. - I think LeBron killed the nicknames. So, the King James, like, nobody ever called him King James. So, I mean, you know, I think that was the story. - Look at him, he might call him King James. - Yeah. - Now when you're 18 years old. - I mean, man, what you saying? - Oh, I never was referred to LeBron as the King James. - I never did. - It was accepted that his nickname was King James, though. - It's a good nickname. - Yeah, I mean, I think now it would be more King James than like when he announced King James, you know? - But he has nicknames. - Now he's more King James. - Yeah, I think Bronn is what it is. Yeah, just Bronn. - Did people call Show Hill, Tiny Showtime out there? - Is that it? - No. - Show it. - That's completely made up. - But you know what, though. - No, that's what it says. - You know what? - Think about it, though. - Markly didn't have a nickname. - Real man or real man, dog? - Real man or real man. - Yeah. - Yeah, I mean, Jordan was the black cat, right? Black Jesus? I mean, those were his nicknames. - Is that what they call him in North Carolina? - No, that's why they call him Black Jesus. - No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. - Can't just be Jesus. - I mean, I-- - It was the black-- - Hold on, hold on, hold on, let's go back. Let's go back to the black cat. - You would've bought the black cat. - Black cat? - That's what they call him. - The one that has Amber. What do you want me to do with it? - Who has the-- - Let's go through it. - Markly Jordan, the black cat. - That was his nickname. You would listen to some of the old broadcasts, though, that's what they call him. I thought-- - The black whale, wow! It really is, okay, Mike. Air Jordan MJ his air in his money black cat Mr. June goat Superman Captain Marvel black Jesus magic Mike. Those are the those are his Magic Mike. Magic Mike is crazy. I never heard that one. Next up headlines shout out to Coach Prime by the way we're pulling forward. We want to get it together. Next up Lenora Sellers graduates in December says he doesn't have any classes this semester. Only an internship at the local driving range. He's living my dream. Lenora sellers. Is this good news or bad news? I think this is good news, right man? What no classes? I mean Carson Beck had no classes last year and he looked pretty good. I'm with it. Like no classes concentrate on football. Yeah. Go hit some golf balls. I get some golf balls grind tape. I'm with it. I think this is great. I kind of buying in on South Carolina. I think they're going to have a good year this year. So I think Lenora sellers is going to have a great year for sure. I like their defense. Yeah. Lenora sell. We're definitely going to have a great year. Yeah. I think that's a good sell. Joel, you like that? Lenora sellers. No classes. Absolutely. Man, if you can figure it out, although you know, it's just I mean, again, I'm sure his life is going to be popping. But in part of being a football player, like being able to just go on the yard. Because that's how you meet. You be go to class sometimes you can go to campus and not have classes. Just Yeah. And I'm sure it's like social media probably changes the whole game on this too. You know, so I didn't. I was not a single with social media. So I don't I don't know how that works. Yeah. Might be a little bit different. But I think that's a good deal for Lenora sellers. I got I'm buying in on sellers this year. Next up, this is just a story that I think has been kind of qualmed a little bit. But Texas star offensive tackle left tackle Trevor Goosby. He suffered an injury. That was an undisclosed injury to his left knee. It has now come out that it's a bone bruise. So he is not done for the season. It happened during Mondays practice. I felt like this was going to be a big story. But now that it's a bone bruise, probably not as big of a story. But yeah, we saved ourselves from archmaning panic alert moment there when he went down. But Goosby should be back. I would assume in a few weeks. So that's good news for Texas. So that was one big story. The next one is fat. Yeah. Next one is fascinating. Ryan Day has moved senior day to week one. He did this to avoid distractions during Michigan week. Said he want to keep the focus on the game and less distractions. Georgia did this. I think I moved it to like two weeks before the end of the season a few years ago. Maybe it's even one week before their last home game. But Joe, your thoughts on senior day being week one seems a little bit strange to me, but maybe you know something I don't. I mean, I think that's really weird. You haven't even really got started, man. You know, I mean, you just we don't get a lot of games to play. Yeah, I mean, you're supposed to have like a story at the end of this long season. And you know, your family comes out and you can reflect back on the year. But this is. I kind of get the Ohio State because I've always just thought. It is ridiculous that you all are mad at Ryan Day, like why, you know, what is all this frustration with him and I could kind of see like why they're a little bit half in because that's not. That's not the move of a confident man, you know, like you just like why are you changing shit. Just do it the way you've always done it. But again, he he's the one who said the twenty twenty four lost a mission was the one of the worst things that had happened in his life. So if he's trying to avoid that and doing it by any means necessary, the more power to him, but that just is a little weird to me, I think I had a Michigan friend reach out to me who's die hard Michigan, you know, have the victors, all those things. He said that that means that Ryan Day is scared of coll winning him. Do you think that's the case, man? I don't think he's scared of coll winning him. But I do think that game still terrifies him. Yeah. I think so. And that's is not good, bro. Yeah, I'm sorry, bro. That it's not good that he's still scared after this. He didn't want a national championship. They kicking Michigan in their ass hole right now in the hole. They're not even kicking their ass. They kicking them in the hole. They are so far ahead of Michigan right now Ohio State is there should be nothing that Ohio State is doing right now that is in response to like Michigan. Except for the fact that when you talk about ass holes, it still feels like Ryan Day's clinches up when this game is talked about. It still feels like for whatever reason, the same reason why Joe made a good point that maybe he felt like I think it was Howard was hurt in that game and maybe he was. Oh, yeah, well, Howard. Yeah. Yeah. And maybe he was hurt in that game. Maybe he was. But in this situation. Stereo Day is not the biggest deal in the world, but it is kind of something that you do at the end of the season, right? This is kind of rearrangement tradition, because you need everybody locked in, because you're afraid that you can get cut by that Wolverine. And he almost got fired after losing the game. They end up in the national championship. It actually they won the national championship. And that season was still kind of a weird season for them, because it's one of the worst Ohio State losses to Michigan in the history of the rivalry. And so yeah, like exactly like a like give me your fucking manhood plant the flag. And then they fucked them on the fuckers, man. They they got that. Yeah. So like that tells me that that's he's still thinking about this. Either that or he's trying to signal to the fans that he's doing something different. But at this point, with the way Ohio State is going, you wouldn't think that he would be having anything like like that still rummaging around his brain. It lets you know that this game might even be bigger than a national championship, which is what, you know, Ohio State fans and Michigan fans are arguing about with that season. But the fact that this is still in his mind and you made this change, I felt was very strange. So Ryan Day. Week one senior day. We'll see that for the first time. We'll learn that once we get the Labor Day weekend. Last one, the official $40 million club. This is out. These are the teams in the $40 million club for this season. LSU Miami Notre Dame Ohio State Texas Oregon and Texas A&M. So I just asked based on that. Is there any team outside that did not spend $40 million that will win the national championship? Or do you think the national championship will come from that group of teams, Joel? I think it's going to pretty much come. Well, I mean, I think it's Indiana. It's not in that group. So you think they could go back to back. You said that you did not believe that earlier. I think it's going to be tough for them because they just got a lot of things have to go right. But I mean, that's, I mean, we see this is the game now. So that's the new number. Like you have to spend $40 million to win. I mean, this is why they're running ass up the Congress trying to get salary caps because only so many people are going to be able to do this. There'll be some sort of stratification at the top again. So they're like, you know, we want some, we want some. Some caps on this kind of stuff. But yeah, you know, if you, you can try to money ball it. As a college football program now. But in some programs are not going to have a choice, but to try. But it's just always better to be able to throw money at your problems. Well, team now in that group is Georgia. What do you think about that? At least Miami Notre Dame and LSU in this, what A&M as well are teams that are. They're in a different place than some of these other teams are the teams with names. But Notre Dame is having had a lot of success under Brian Kelly, but Notre Dame is trying to establish something. Miami is trying to establish something LSU, even despite having won the national championship fairly recently is trying to establish something. Ohio State, Texas and Oregon are all teams are on the top of the mount top right now in college football. You have to say that about Miami to being like where they finished last year. But still, you know, it's like always a question like is the you back and stuff. So these are teams that are inclined to spend a lot of money, whereas Georgia had such a fertile ground reputation and program operating system. That they probably can get a little bit more out of what type of program they already had. Ohio State being here is just Ohio State is going to be at the top of every team. The thing about Georgia too, and I don't know if it's going to last like this, but it's kind of like when Nick Sabin was in Alabama, it was like some guys would just go just because Nick Sabin's there, you know. I know that I'm going to go on that program and we're not going to develop. I'm not going to be an NFL and Georgia can sell you on that. So maybe, you know, maybe they don't need to be at 40, but eventually they're going to need to be at 40. What does Miami's money come from? There's a lot of money every time I'm just a go to Miami is a lot of money though. It's a private school. It's a lot of rich people that go there in the first, but I guess not even rich wealthy people. They're alone supporter basis like that in Miami, huh? I mean, it's small, but it's it's loud. Here's the bank statements. Man, he got, he got pardoned by Biden, man. Did you know that he had a 20 year prison sentence got out pardoned by Biden in 2024. And now he's got this podcast. Yeah. I mean, probably, probably, I see it was maggot. It's probably not now. Yeah, I was going to say it might be team Biden. There you go. Hunter helped him out. All right. There you have it. Everything is the more the players look. We're looking at the, the more the players cost, the more money you got to raise. The more patches you're going to be on there, that's what that's the way it happens, baby. Keep going. We got patches on the field now, patches on the field, patch, patch, patch. Everybody sell everything, everybody get it. Man, see, I was, we need to get in with the end of the mountain gods in Mexico, state, man. That, that could, it's like a little casino resort joint in the, in the, in the forest of, of New Mexico, in the forest, you know, man, they got to, it's like in their national force. It's like a national force because it's owned by like a, you know, a native tribe. You know, what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So they run it and apparently it's beautiful, man. Y'all thought go to the end of the mountain god's website. I was like, oh my god. We should, man. I won't say this. I want to go about the Los Angeles. One of the most beautiful states I drove through. I know there's a lot of beauty in the U.S. if you drive around. It actually kind of overwhelmed you. I'll pretty it is, but New Mexico under the radar. Very beautiful driving through New Mexico. Not not necessarily in the cities, but just the landscapes. Oh, yeah. I can't. I've been wanting to get back to New Mexico forever, man. I went on a trip with my dad when I was five years old. White sand's national park. That was one of the coolest places I ever went. Really? Yeah. I got the sled on the sand. Wait. Is that where they did the boys to men? Tears run drive video? Maybe so. I'm not sure. But I mean, they sell that video. Yeah. I think it is. It looks like it. Just thinking about what it looks like. Boys to men. White sand. That was in New Mexico. I don't know if it was in New Mexico. I'm just saying like thinking about the video. No, but actually they did. Boys to men filmed the video for "Waters Run Dry" at the White Sands National Park in New Mexico. There you go. Beautiful place. It's not way to the water, it's dry. It's a B-cox joint. I'm going to take off straight up. Ain't no niggles was singing like boys to men, bro. Some people have, you know, everybody talk about Joe this, you know, but you'll put Nate Morris, Juan Ye and Sean together. How the fuck did they end up in high school together? That's crazy. How did them niggas end up in high school together? Whatever the fuck it was. Actually, it was probably. I think it was a performance in our school, so that makes a little bit more sense. Yeah. That they will all be there. But like think about it, you could argue that Sean Stockman is the best nigga you ever heard singing. You could argue that Nate is the best nigga you ever heard singing. You could argue that Nate is the best nigga you ever. And then they had basically the whole fucking shit, brother niggas could sing, bro. They're going crazy, bro boys. They shot our tour. Oh, I saw boys to men live, man, at the Michael Jackson bad tour when it came through the Houston Summit in 19, I think it was 91. They were going stage, man. Look, you know, there was something about this time in life. I mean, was that part? Was it the MC Hammer concert that came through? We either way. There was just something about them. I was like, I just kind of like to see boys to me succeed, man. Not, you know, not in recent. I think everybody pulls her boys to them. Well, because then recent kind of one year, it was kind of weird about the brandy thing, you know, in the show, dog. I just kind of felt like, no, bro, it's, bro, everything is bad, bro. Everything is bad. We can't. We can't fucking do nothing, dog. We can't. Everything is bad, bro. Like that's it. You know, uh, LSU, uh, gang, gang situation, gang signs everywhere. Woodside.
