Reacting to internet trolls, PDA, & Who’s More Likely w/ Our Husbands

The hosts of Always Here, Abby and Caleb, engage in a candid and humorous discussion about relationship dynamics, focusing on emotional communication and male behavior. They critique the common misconception that yelling is normal or acceptable in arguments, arguing instead that it’s a sign of poor emotional control and a red flag in a healthy marriage. Drawing from personal experiences and viral online comments, they highlight how their own relationships prioritize calm, respectful dialogue. The conversation includes a lighthearted game where they compare traits like punctuality, snack habits, and reactions to stress, revealing playful differences between their partners. They also emphasize the importance of intentional connection—like date nights without phones or shared creative activities such as Minecraft—serving as a foundation for love and intimacy. Moreover, they celebrate each other’s emotional maturity, noting that strong relationships thrive on mutual respect, humor, and empathy. Through storytelling and self-reflection, the episode offers a balanced, relatable take on modern marriage, encouraging listeners to value emotional intelligence over loudness or passivity. The hosts also share personal reflections on their own habits, such as Abby’s tendency to get hungry in stressful environments and Matt’s surprising habits like morning farts, adding warmth and authenticity to the dialogue. Ultimately, the segment promotes the idea that healthy relationships are built on understanding, patience, and shared values, not just physical or emotional endurance.

I told Abby that you came into the bathroom. I just have to figure out how I can bench more than Caleb. (laughing) - I did, I did. - Always here is under some heat. - Oh, frick, what happened? - These men are like, it's normal to yell. We should yell. - If you have to yell to get your point across, you don't have either a good argument or you're not in control. - Oh, he's driving bars. - I think we got the most fights at airports 'cause you're always hungry. - I walked through security and my stomach just emptied. - I have to do like a pretty humble analysis to know what she's gonna be hungry. - I take care of myself, guys. - Even for hours. - No, what's the most annoying thing you do that I think is annoying? - That I do? - Forting in the morning. - Abby, call that trumpet butt. - No, I got that from Abigail. - It's actually a condition. (upbeat music) - Welcome back to Always Here. Where are your hosts, Abby Howard? - In Abby Howard. - Oh, yeah, babe. - Oh no. - We were in charge every year. - Oh, sorry, sorry. - I'll be quiet. - Sorry, sorry, sorry. - Abby, I'll wait to speak unless we spoke or two. (laughing) - Yeah, what are we doing? - Are we doing ground rules for this? - There are no rules. - No rules. - This is casual, this is chatty. But we have a lot prepared for you guys, so don't feel like you have to freestyle. - Yeah, don't. - Don't feel like you'd be creative. (laughing) - Let's take this script, boys. - Hey, real quick, if you haven't subscribed to Always Here, what are you doing? What, they're on the road to 100K, guys. Do you wanna be a part of the, you wanna be an Always Here founding member? - Luke, I like that. Founding fathers. - We should go to their founding fathers. - If you wanna be a founding father, go ahead and subscribe. - Which one was I? Thomas Jefferson. - That's right. - Yeah. - We, Brandy, throw up the photo of Abby, which she was a founding father. - We were talking about this before. - Has everyone seen the picture? - I love the picture. - It's hilarious. - My favorite is when someone's like, literally smoking at the frat party, and you can just see the smoke blowing around, and Abby's there with all her friends. (laughing) - I guess it's like a bunch of old guys. - Just so sober. - And all the other ladies are like, and they're wearing nothing, and you're a freaking founding father. - I look good. Matt didn't wanna hang out with me all night. - Right. - No, I did. I just, until you looked like a dude, I just did it with you. - Exactly. (laughing) - Tyler looking at you. - You're like, it's fine, it's not for you. It's for the girls. (laughing) - We were married, I think. (laughing) I think we were married. - Oh yeah, we were married. - I don't know. Anyway. - Okay, so that's Matt, and here's Caleb. - Hi. (laughing) - They asked on our prepping calls like how are Matt and Caleb different? And I was like literally, probably in every way you could possibly think. - Do we have a recording of my best man speech? 'Cause I think I've pretty much said that. - Yeah, you kinda did. I mean, just to catch you guys up to speed, like Caleb did ballet, tap dance, musical theater going up. I played football. - Exactly. - I was the zesty one. - He didn't even give me nine. - He was a skateboarder. He thought he was a skater for a while. Wouldn't it be Tony Hawk? - I got straight A's. - Yeah, he tried to be like us a beaver would sing serenade for girls in middle school. So that's Caleb. - We're not as confused now, but. (laughing) - Yeah, you guys, this is what we were saying on the call, like you guys really aren't that much alike, but I feel like me and Abbie are kind of alike. - Yeah, we are. - So. - How are you guys better friends than we are? It's my question. - Because we have 95% of things in common, too. (laughing) - We're getting closer. Caleb and I are playing Minecraft more, so. - That's good. - Maybe we should edit that out. That makes us look weird. - I think it's sweet. - Cool guys put Minecraft. - That's true. That's true. - Caleb's been a big Minecraft writer. I used to be embarrassed about it when he and we were dating. I was like, "That's really cringy, I think." And then I was like, "Actually, it's kind of sweet." - All the YouTubers are doing it. - Okay, that's cool, then. - Mr. Beast, Ryan. - Nope, you guys need to make a trend where it's like, what's like the, I've seen these trends where it's like, people like worrying about their husband cheating, and then it like cuts their husband, like, playing like, building like a Lego for it. - That's interesting. - I'm like, "Yeah." - Just cut, and then cuts it, Caleb. And I like building our Minecraft city with all this. - With the volume on, so loud. I like walk upstairs. I was like, "What is going on?" - It's Caleb, right? - It's Caleb. - It's Caleb, he always listen to these really loud. Okay, so on our podcast every week, first of all, we should just say, we've both been married for like seven years, - Exactly. - Exactly. - Exactly. - We got married like two weeks apart. We were dating longer. So Abby's the OG Abby Howard, and I'm just the, the knockoff. - The knockoff? - The knockoff? - The knockoff. - Seriously. - The team move version. - Yes. - Oh my god. - The value version. - Was it less cool? - Did you say one time that like, some brand was like reaching out about doing a collaboration, and then they just like, ghost. - Yeah, they thought it was, they thought it was the other Abby Howard. It was like, that's fine. - That's not, they should have just gone ahead and collaborated, you know? - That's sweet. - It's okay. - They thought they were getting a little bit more bang for their buck probably. (laughs) That's all right. It's all right. No, no, we started dating before you guys, and then we all got married three weeks apart, which was really fun. - October of 2013, right? - Yeah. What did you guys start dating? - June of 2016. - Okay. - That's when it's coming up. - Wait, that's your 10 year. - Or decade. - Yeah, two, we're two months away from art. - You guys celebrating? And what are you guys doing for it? - We're doing something big. - Yeah, I do something big. - Something big. - I'm sure, something huge. (laughs) - Maybe we'll go if she's gay factory. (laughs) - When can you not travel anymore? - And not for a while, we have a long time, but. - 34 weeks, isn't that when you're not here for a long time? - I think he's 36 weeks. But yeah, so maybe we'll do something fun. We thought about going on a baby moon, in which case that would probably be all anniversary. Dating anniversary, baby moon, all in one. But something you guys may know from listening to our podcast, which, first of all, do you listen to our podcast? - I do. I've been, I've watched every clip. - He's watched every clip. - You've watched the clips. - Caleb, you watched a lot of them for a while there. - Have fun. - Have fun. - That's pretty much, maybe three weeks behind. - That's actually a better than I thought. - No, that's pretty good. - Yeah. - Okay. - We love a supportive husband. But you know that one of our things we do is we share the hope in the heart with heart and humor. So we thought today, we didn't warn them about this. - You guys are only gonna share hearts, go. - No, you can just share a hope. - There's a hope, it's good. - Are you okay with that? - Yeah, Caleb, you first. - What's the thing you feel hopeful about coming up this week? Something makes you feel happy. - Yeah, what's the time frame? - I would say a week, 'cause we go week to week. - Yeah, that's good. - Caleb's in a busy season with work. So I feel like that's been a long-composing, but I'm sure there are some good things that go around in our life. - I was crack-sealing, go and get it. (laughing) - Do you see any big cracks recently? (laughing) - You guys are hilarious. (laughing) - I think we're context kiloworcs in parking lots. (laughing) - Okay, he's a meter-made, kind of like Zootopia, you know? - Okay, my actual full-time job is, I'm a part owner of a pavement maintenance business. So we work in asphalt and parking lots, filling cracks in asphalt, seal-coding, you keep parking lots in the asphalt. Like what? (laughing) 'Cause it's not just, we don't really do concrete parking lots. We don't do concrete. - Oh, Caleb got serious. You're right, babe, that's good. - So it's been really busy. It's been a, we are doing well. - I think your hope is that you guys, I've been doing really good. - How about with the biggest crack you've seen in asphalt before? - Oh my God. - At least this big. - Take it creative. - Now what's your hope? - We need to cut that. (laughing) - I, my hope right now, this is so nerdy, but I'm really excited 'cause I think I'm finally going to try to recover all of the old, like photos and videos that I'd saved on my old computer from, like, I think the early years of us dating and then like, high school. - Is that why you been setting me a bunch of old photos? - Yeah, I've been nostalgic and I've been going back and looking at like all of our old photos and videos of us together. And like, I backed up my old iPhone back in like 2016 to the computer that, like, it no longer works. So I need to like, probably use Clawd to figure out how to get this computer to work, pull all, or at least just get the information off the hard drive that way I can like, you know, see all those like old videos and photos again. - Yeah, that's sweet, that's sweet. - That unlocked out and hope for you. - It's not a hope, it's just something I've been enjoying recently. Oh, I've been using Clawd to build an M. - Clawd, yeah. It's really just for men, just AI, it's just for men. - I mean, with a name like Clawd, if you're not gonna get an average, and it's not tickling the ladies, yeah. - Comment down below if you're an always here girlie that also uses Clawd. - Listen, I do use AI, I just not using it. I don't use it all day long. - Have any of you, everything's, we just watch AI videos all day. - I do see here YouTube recommended, it is a lot of AI videos. - No, it's not. - It is. - I can't even spot it, I don't even, I could be consuming it, I don't even know. - So I've been building like a workout tracking fitness app, just kind of for fun, it's, it's got ways to go, but it's like, you're, 10 years ago it's taken like, $10,000 to build this, and now you can build stuff and, - Two days, yeah. - Yeah, that's cool. - It's just a little fun. - It's a new hobby. - Yeah, yeah, passion project. - Passion project. Those are great hopes. - So, you want the hard? - Sure, you got one? - Yeah, bring it on. - Work. (laughing) - Okay, okay. - Cracks. - That is good. - That is good. - My wife. (laughing) - My wife? - No. - No. - Is that what you say? - My wife has been getting all my nerves. - Oh, cheer for you. - Cheers. (laughing) - Wow, that's cool. - Wow, that's cool. - Baby, that cry's out. - Actually, that kind of leads us to the next sentence. - Oh, what's going on? - Wow, that's crazy. - Wow, that's crazy. 'Cause this week, this, oh wow, that's crazy, he had a little close to home because you guys may not know this, but always here is under some heat. - Oh, frick, why are we, we're viral. - Oh, oh. - Is it viral? - No, I don't know. What is that, it's a viral. - What determines the viral? - I don't know. Every time people say something like, "Oh, viral recipe." And then I go look about their original recipe. I'm like, it was 10,000 views. I think people just say viral is a buzzword. Well, then viral. This went viral. Okay, so you know that clip that Abby showed you beforehand? - Uh-huh. - 493,000 views. - Okay, good, good. - 493,000? - That video, you could say it reached the wrong, it did reach the demographic. - It reached the insults of the internet. - No, it reached the men, which really is never, not really our target audience. - Our target audience. - And it reached, honestly, in my opinion, it reached the red flagman, if you really did. These men are like, it's normal to yell. We should yell, so we have some comments here. - Oh, really? - No, no, we got a lot of, all the men were mad at us. So wait, we're gonna, maybe we can impose the clip here. If a guy raises their voice, that is a really big red flag. A guy yelling is so intimidating. I actually saw this video and it was about fatherhood. They surveyed a bunch of children. - What is one thing you want your dad to stop doing? It's gonna make me cry. Almost all the kids say, "I wish you didn't yell." - And if you're anything like me, you might be shocked if I know that this really attracted a rise out of some men. And I think we had to delete some comments, but here's the comment that we're gonna call out. We're gonna call out my name. - Can I share my thought on that? - Yeah. - Oh, baby. Oh, he's dropping bars. - Ooh, like if you can make a good argument without having to yell, then you don't-- - You actually are winning. That's precisely my point. Honestly, I don't think you have control of your household if you have to yell to get people to listen. - Yeah. - Totally. So, we were shocked by these comments. We were shocked. And honestly, some of them are actually scary. I'm like, these guys, I hope are single. Like, I literally hope, because-- - Can we put their app up there? - Yeah, sure. I'm like, I'm like, we're a little bit over here. - Hey, they felt that they was okay to publicly comment this from their own account. Yeah, so on our IP, so we're gonna blast them. - This is more. - And I also think I would hate if an always home girl found themselves with one of these guys. That would be, yes, it was a red flag dating episode so these people are red flags. Scott said, "Women should stop complaining so much." It's always women saying how men should act. Maybe focus on yourself. - So at a point. (laughing) - Also, Scott did edit that comment, so I wonder what he had before. (laughing) - Scott, Scott, my man. - This is what a print chef said. Have you ever tried da, da, da, hmm, listening? (laughing) - Wait, okay, hold on. I think there is difference between yelling if like your spouse is upstairs and you're like, "What'd you say?" - No, there's that, yeah. - When we're warming up, we're warming up. - Yeah, there's a difference. Okay, Krippy, Gremlin 30 said, "They complain if we raise your voice "and they complain if we don't, and then call us soft, "and then people wonder why you can't make them happy." - You know, some of these, I will say, some of these guys just seem like they might have just had a really bad day and they're taking it out in the wrong place. - Scott, I'm not getting on the bed of this. - Someone just needs to delete their app off their phone. (laughing) - This one says. - They need to delete the apps. - Okay, this one's from Alex Smith, 1986. - I can't believe these are all real dudes like they have profile picks. - He has his truck as his profile pick or car. It says, "If you don't have an authoritative figure "in the house, you will not know right from wrong "because you would not, you would have punishments "or someone yelling at you for don't wrong." - I just can't believe how many people think like-- - I feel like he felt strongly about that though. - I'm shocked at how many people just think it's okay to just yell. Like just, that's just not an okay thing to do. I mean, okay, they're happening times that I've yelled at our kids. Like if they're running towards the street and they're wanting to get hit by the car, I'm going to yell because I need them to freeze and not get hit by a car. - There were some arguments in that. - Yes, and that's not what I was in that point. - I think they should have known that. That's what this person said. - That's like one of the few instances where I think it's okay. - This one says, "Will if I ever see my children "doing anything life-threatening "or bullying their siblings, "I'm going to yell at them not to do that." Yeah, if your kid's going to go in front of a car. - Yeah. - Yeah, yell, that's not the context of this. - Sweetie, sweetie, sweetie, that's the highway, hey. (laughing) - Okay, I think that's what's crazy. I got the vid. You have no idea what makes a man a man. If a man raises his voice, listen to him. - Look at his profile, make sure to. That's a crazy comment. - Yeah, I mean. - You have no idea what makes a man a man. - And bite and kiss him. - I'm gonna lose. - Did he pull that up? - That's not AI. - It's not AI. - It's not AI. (laughing) - Another red flag for this fellow, just add another, no, this one's the one that really got me. Maybe stop causing issues so much so we don't have, so we have to raise our voices. - Or the one above that. - I feel it. - Then keep your mouth shut and speak when spoken to, then you wouldn't have to ever experience that. - I feel like all of these are like sub-treets at their wants. - Bro. - It's really crazy. - So speak when spoken to is like a little, that's kind of put a shiver down my spine. - That's a little shiver, I agree, man. Yeah, this one's definitely the guys fault. Let's not look at what caused him to yell. That would lead to accountability. (laughing) - I mean, these folks really need zero context to have such an opinion on this. - Yeah, so we want your opinion about yelling. - What are you doing? - We want more opinions. - I hate yelling. - You dropped your bar. - I shared my bar. - That was good. - That was good. - I know. - But. - And I, there's obviously context and too yelling. Like again, kid running in the street. - Exactly. - Spouse can't hear you because they're upstairs. - Even humor. Like sometimes it's just funny. Like if you're like, I don't know. - You get loud. - You yell at CJ jokingly, and he laughs. - Yeah, yeah. - 'Cause he-- - There's context. - 'Cause I don't yell it. - Right. - So when I yell, he laughs. - Literally. - It's like the angry, scary yelling. - I think the most common time all yell is when I yell at Ugida Baga when I'm like with our kids, and I'm the monster, you should have kept that to yourself. - No, sorry, I'll be out there. - Ugida Baga. - I think there's quite a few videos of me yelling at Ugida Baga. - That's fun. Yeah, I agree. And I was thinking about this. 'Cause we kind of talked about this clip on our call. And I think about all the men in my life, I think about you, Matt, you Caleb, your dad, my dad, my sister's husband. Like not a single male that I know that's in a healthy marriage is the screaming at their wife in a fight or an argument or like out of impatience. And so I think I was a little shocked at the amount of comments here where this just feels like susceptible. And there were some women being like, it's normal. And I was like, that's actually just not healthy. - It's hot. - Yeah, it's really crazy. So, you know how, which one to bring that up? Get your guys' opinions on it. - Yeah. Yeah, there was also a sub argument that was like, let's, like, it's like, why do we normal? It's not letting men have emotions. It's like, no, that's not. - Okay, put me on blast, have I ever yelled? - I've never heard you raise your voice. - I've raised my voice, but not like. - I don't think there's ever been tone. You get serious. And I think there's like an authoritative tone that I also get if we're in like a heated argument, but it's not yelling. I think there's a difference. Like you can be serious and have serious arguments and conversations and have like a stern voice, but it's not yelling out of like intimidation or out of control of anger. Yeah, and I also think, I'm thinking also in the context of like parenting and kids. Like you've already lost control if you get to that point. Like that's already like your kids have already just, they're gone, you know what I mean? So that's also what I was thinking about when I was thinking about that. Cause I'm like, when you're choosing someone to date to then marry, then to likely have kids with, this is the, that was my thought process on that. Take and apparently it was just not popular. Some other. I didn't agree. He said, Dad's not yelling who kids stop behaving. What is that? Dad's stop yelling, kids stop behaving. Yeah, he said that that's what I actually would tune out the yelling in my house. Yeah, same, not from my dad. Oh, yeah, no, whenever I got yelled at, it was like, oh, okay. Like now I definitely don't want to listen to what you say. Yeah, you kind of lose respect a little bit. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, cause you're already like, yeah, you kind of puts that you at the equal level as your kid, you know what I mean? Like, it kind of just lessens your respect like you're saying. But then the other argument that was in the comments is like, well, if men have to stop yelling, then women have to stop crying. That can be manipulative. So, yeah, I'm just really, I think we should shout you guys out. I'm thankful that you guys are not yellers. And ladies, it's possible. It is possible. We're basically perfect husbands is what she's saying. Seriously. Well, that's good. Thanks for chiming in and thank you for being good examples of wonderful men that are like strong and kind, but gentle and one strong. Well, I'm working on it. I, I benched, I benched, I benched one eighty five left. I like to. Hey, three sets of one eighty five, six reps. And Chatsby T said that means that I, my one right max is probably - I have a confession, Matt. The other night, like I had to figure it out. It's just a little brotherly competition, you know? - I know, I was like, - You know you'll never be able to. - He's just gonna keep working hard. - You wanna shake on that right now? - Okay. - You should shake on it. - Sure. - That'd be fine. - All right, competition on, homie. - Just let him get his eyes coffee all the way. - All right, bud. - That's great. - These are the men that let us set our standards so high. - Yes. - So they do exist. The people that were like, "These girls are crazy." (laughing) They're never gonna find that. - It we found them young too, before we even really knew, so. - Basically, if you would think-- - We have no idea. - We weren't getting it, no matter what the best. - Get married young, okay. - Anyway, okay, so that's a good segue. Who's more likely to bench more? We're gonna play a game who is more likely to dot, dot, dot. And we have a whole good long list of this. So for say this game, Abigail, Abby, and then you guys are just gonna say your guess of who's more likely at the same time. We'll count you down. Let me tell you how I'm talking about 'em. Okay, so the first one. - Have you guys gone through this in a gree on all? - No, I have no idea. What do you say? I haven't read the news. - Okay. - Ready? - Yep. - Who's more likely to cry during a commercial? - Any commercial? - During a commercial. Think about the Christmas. - This is for our wives. Okay, and you're gonna say three, two, one. Three, two, one. - Abby. - Yeah. (laughing) - Okay, so that one is pretty set in stone. I agree. Who's more likely to cancel plans last minute? - Oh. Three, two, one. Abigail. (laughing) - I was like, you're never gonna cancel for it. - I did the other weekend. It's still haunting me. - Oh yeah, you did. But then you still, but then you still went to the show. Then you canceled, but then you still showed up the next day. - I was good friends. - It's not necessarily always healthy. Who's more likely to forget where they parked? - Three, two, one. Abby. - Yeah. (laughing) I don't know, yeah. I feel like I'm really like a freak in the parking lots. I don't know, I'm very like. - I know. - Okay. - Do you remember? - Yeah. - Okay. - I get like nervous, so I'm like very watchy. Okay, who's more likely to say they're on their way, but still being pajamas? Three, two, one. - Three, two, one. Abigail. - Oh! We have the mission. - Okay, let's hear the court, why? - Well, you know, I will say when we first started dating, which was almost a decade ago, Abby was pretty good at being on time, but then she met this ADHD man, which happened to be me, and you're just, you're late for everything now. (laughing) - Yeah. - That's true. - You were 30 minutes late for a shirt. - Yeah. - And you're like, I'm getting in the car. I said, don't come. (laughing) - That did happen last week. And the reason I was there early is 'cause I was serving at church. - Yeah, so he was there early, and I just couldn't, I didn't even make it on, I didn't even make it. - I have to get to church 45 minutes early, so that's why we drive separately. And so I've been at church for an hour and 15 minutes. - Yes. - And I said, - Pretty minutes after. - Were you actually getting in the car? - Don't come. - Yeah, I was. - Did you come? - No, I didn't come. No, I didn't. I was like, yeah, it's right. This is ridiculous. What am I gonna do? - I know you posted on your story. Like, is 20, what's your breaking point? - Yes. - I'm like, when you're like, it's too late to still come to something. - Yeah. - And people are like 10 minutes and you're like, mine's like 30. - Mine's 20. (laughing) - My mom said, she said, they need to adjust Abigail's burn score. - Why? - For your comedy classes, you've attended. - Oh, because she comes so late. - Yeah, she does. (laughing) - They take off between percent of the like time. - Yeah, you have to go to two classes where people would. (laughing) - I always make it for the workout. I just always miss the warm-up and the showing. - It's only a 45 minute workout. - Exactly. - It is crazy. - It's crazy. - And there's been no adjustment. - No, I'm getting better. I've been on time twice this week. - That's amazing. - Well, I can't today's on time. What do you guys can't today? - You relate today. - No, I wasn't. Abigail, you were the last person to go into the class. - Abigail stressed out if she's there on time. - Yeah, if I'm like early and like, what do I do? - We did the whole warm-up. - No, no, it's not even early. It's like. - I already done a ton of push ups. - I do know how you feel. - Yeah. - If I get somewhere five minutes early, I'm like, what? - What am I doing? - I don't know what to do with my hands. - Literally, yeah, I'm like, well, I got time to kill. - Yeah, Matt, honestly, you should, that one, that was Abigail. She more late than me. - It's true, especially right now. - Yes, she has more of a reason. She got a baby. Who's more likely to laugh at the wrong moment? - Three, two, one. - Abigail. (laughing) - Honestly, don't know, yeah, maybe. - You just laughed more in general than me. - Yeah, I think I do laugh sometimes when I'm uncomfortable. - Yeah, I probably would. - You're more giggly. - You're right. Who is more likely to bring snacks? Three, two, one. - Abigail. - Oh. - It's not me. - I feel like Abby, well, you don't bring snacks. You're more of like, I baked a cake and cookies. - All right, so now, what do we time out? Like, for a plane eight. - Oh, we're talking about snacks. - I was gonna say, there was a time where I didn't, I was like, oh, see, she's not really a snack kid and he would eat everyone else's snacks. And then I was like, I actually probably need to start bringing you some snacks. - I thought we were talking about for self, not kids. - Oh, okay, for kids, Abby's. I think Abby's better for both of us snacks. - I don't want to be without food. - Yeah. - I think you're better with snacks. - I don't know about that. I feel like we're both good. Who's more likely to read all the messages in the group chat, but never respond? Three, two, one. - Abby. - Abby. - I think you respond to your texts. - I don't even know. - I don't even think you read them. I think that's my thing. It's like, you don't even read them. - Yeah, I don't read texts, usually. Now we're just frying Abby's legs. This isn't fair. - This is good. - I do feel you, how many messages have you had like, build up before? Like, what's the max? - I think it was at 50 yesterday. - Oh, okay. I've been worse. I've had like 100 before. - I'm at 29 right now. - Okay. - Sometimes I'm bad about texts. - You know what's getting annoying, too, is now like, I get so bothered when I get a text from like, somebody trying to sell me something. It's like, how the frick did you get my number? - I think getting all of this, too. - Because it's like, what happened with email, with all the soliciting over email, is now coming into messages. - Sure. - And it's really bothered me. - Like, your roof and your trees. - Just anything, literally anything at all. - I got a lot of them. - Like, people somehow, yeah, I don't, yeah. - I don't get any of those. - I don't want to say too much 'cause I don't want it to keep happening, but like, it's so-- - It's 3-1-4. - Oh, we are from St. Louis. Yeah, I hate that. - I don't know what you guys are going to say to this one. - Yeah. - Actually, yes, I do. Who is more likely to apologize first, even if they're not wrong? - 3-2-1. - Abigail. - Abigail. (laughing) - I'm just a jerk. (laughing) - I love you. - No, don't kiss. Now it's weird because we talked about PDA too much. - I love you so much. - Not too much. Who's more likely to hold a grudge? - 3-2-1. - Abby. - Abby. (laughing) - I'm just a grouch. - No, I agree with you guys. - I waited for Matt to say this. - I will say, it does. Maybe I just have short-term memory loss. I'm just like, "Dore," but sometimes, like, I don't want to say anything stupid. But if it's like, I'm like, "What did I do?" Like, "Oh, we disagreed last night." Frick, what did I say? And then like, "I'm trying to remember what it was." - Oh, I don't think that's a grudge. I'm like, "Still sad about it." - I'm like, "Your memory is so sharp." I'm like, "I can't remember what happened." I'm just like, happy that the day is made. - I have the notes in my brain, the quotes. - We kind of talked about this on our last episode, our red flags episode that I do the silent treatment in Abby's, like, like, to expose him. - No, not, it's like, we said you are an external processor where I, like, kind of, I go internal and I'm like, "I can't talk at all until we're just talking about what we need to talk about." And Matt so wishes I was like that. - Something that really stuck out to me, and this was enlightening for me, listening to the gutment, like, the forget their names, but the gutment institute, the couple that, like, heads the gutment institute, seven principles of, the seven principles of a healthy marriage. What's the book title? - Make marriage work. - No, it's, yeah, the seven principles of making marriage work, I think, yeah. Yeah, I think that's the name of the book. And they talk about how, it's like 80 or 90 percent, I forget, it might be 89 percent, I forget that. - This is what he always tells me. - But no, but they're unsolvable. - Most conflict is unsolvable. So you just have to, like, push through it. And yes, you do need to resolve conflict. Like, you can't just say, "Oh, most of us unsolvable, "because we should never resolve conflict." But also, there's so many stupid fights that can come up in marriage, where it's just like, you gotta just let it go. - Sure. - You know, what was our last fight? (laughing) - You guys know what, we're not saying it out loud. (laughing) - Was it today or yesterday? - No, it was. - Was it today or yesterday? (laughing) - That's not the right word. - That's a cool thing to go. I feel like, yeah, a lot of conflict is more so resolving feelings. Maybe more so than the actual what the issue is. So you mean? - That's a good point. - Yeah, it's like, I'm gonna use that next time. - Yeah, it's like we're resolving how that affected my thoughts in my field, yeah, yeah. Okay, who is more likely to need a load in time? Three, two, one. - I wanna hold on. - How long does he think, who needs a load in time? - I don't know what they're gonna say to that. - Okay, I'll go. - Three, two, one. - Abby. - Okay, really? - I speak a lot less time alone. Yeah, Abby is actually, is very extroverted. - Yeah, but you'd never wanna be alone. - What are you talking about? I don't never leave the house. (laughing) What are you talking about? Oh, yeah, but you don't count. - See, that's where. - Yeah. - I thought I did. No, no, because you're just my safe person, so I never feel drained around you and I don't think husband's account for this I don't think husband's account. I don't think kids count. I think more just like, oh, maybe the guy Who's more likely to Google every symptom? Wait, I'm going back it. That's like your dad. Like your dad does that and then I'm like trying to think do you do that? No, I feel like you tell me to look it up. You're like, you look it up right now No, I find it too. You were like Lewis a all of CJ's kinetic sand. I'm like what all right, and I'll get up Wait, yeah, that's that's kind of cute that our wives go to us like when there's like some sort of moment It's like I need you to fix it This is like a man It's like I can handle the things I know at it, but it's like if it's out of the Orients like the tasks. I know I'm like, yeah, you got this one. I'm not gonna go do my own research It was more likely to let the kids eat snacks for dinner Three two one Abby me Heavy I don't know between the two of you Between the two of us. Yes, Caleb. I Always say this guy mean this really kindly like you are a very capable dad and I have no I never like leave the house And I'm like Caleb can't do it like you know what I mean? I'm like he knows how to take care of them He knows your schedule and so the one thing I do. I'm like I don't know if the kids ate Like I just don't I think you assume that they eat before they go to bed and then when they wake up You're like they probably already ate like you just always skip meal time No I think I just for CJ kind of expect CJ to be like, hey dad. I'm hungry. Yeah, I don't like he doesn't He could care less about eating so it's like They probably I'll catch I'll catch our boys in the pantry with like double double-fisting chocolate chips Just like shoving it and they're moving up high and then that You know what it was today. What did they get into I couldn't find Augie What was it I was yelling but I could hear him okay And I was like I was like always in the freaking pantry open the door. He has that massive like factory-sized bag of lucky charm is marshmallow Okay, yeah, we're gonna switch it up now in the game and we're gonna have it to where between couple couple to couple We're just gonna say between me and Caleb who we think will be more likely to do these things and you guys answer Who's more likely between you two? Okay, so you guys are interesting for yourselves. All right. Let's do it. Okay Who's more likely to give him to screen time for the kids? Caleb Yep, I'm more likely. Yeah, we like While Augie would wake up and be like, "Dad, we want stars Vader?" Which is honestly I will say that is really fun because when we went to Disneyland He got to meet Darth Vader. He's obsessed with like all things Star Wars and it's like a little it's just fun for us You know, we have we had a lightsaber battle on our playset the other day and It was dark out so like the it was just like glowing in the dark. You know, that's how the lights it was work And it was really I actually had a lot of fun. I kind of felt like I was a kid on that though because This morning Augie asked to watch Darth Vader. I was like, no, we're not watching Darth Vader and then Griffey goes that's only a dad I think it was because he said because Griffin Griffin scared of Darth Vader But I was like but at first I was like is he picking up on the fact that we have different expectations Well, maybe it's not good. Does Griffin feel safe to watch Darth Vader with me because I'm like, you know, keep him safe No, because he said because I don't like Darth Vader I think it's books him out. Yeah This one who's more likely to panic over a minor kid injury between you guys I Mean definitely me, but I don't think either of us really panic over minor kid injuries What do you call minor? I think I panic more of a major. I would panic more Like I never panic. Yeah, I've never seen a panic between us Matt. Who's more likely to panic over a minor kid injury? Yeah, definitely wait me. You think it's me. I would think it's mad to me. I'm gonna be honest. Oh Because I feel like I feel like when Augie had to go to the ear I feel like I went into like fix it Felix mode So you used to like your kid trip and fell you like pick them up fast and run outside and it's okay It's a wonder they're tough That's funny. I love that they perceive it differently because I knew you were gonna say me, but I don't know I don't feel like I panic, but I did get freaked out about Augie's But I feel like there was a major that was a major not a minor kid. Yeah, you're more like a panic over the minor ones I'm more like a panic over the major ones. There we go. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, I feel like That was like newborn stage though where I was just like afraid of everything, you know like I remember like being like if I don't have that special sock on them Like what if they stop breathing like you just like think of all these like Doomsday scenarios as a new parent, you know, like that was like a phase I don't feel like I've seen it as much recently. I said on to your kids get off hurt that often. Yeah, Augie's freaking tough, man Yeah, I feel like he doesn't really get hurt Who's more likely to handle chaos like it's nothing? I'll feel it for sure Matt between us. Who do you think handles chaos like it's nothing like it's nothing. It's kind of weird I feel like we it's dependent on like the stage of our marriage. I feel like What does that mean? Who's overstimulated at the time? Yeah, yeah, it depends like who like who's caring a lot, you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna actually give myself this one. You feel like oh you feel like you got it? Okay? Okay, we read the airport recently. I was like yeah, I think I Just don't think you perceive it as chaos. So you're just kind of like nothing to be alarmed about here Good who's more likely to give the silent treatment Yeah, me for sure I'll go Matt I yeah, I feel like if it's get if things are getting a little too Crazy, I just have to just like Maybe the middle child thing just go silent. No, it's actually not I think Abby and I we were both like the What do you call it in hockey? But the like enforcer, you know, the enforcer who's like beats up the other team in hockey I think Abby and I were that for like our families So if there if there was a parent that was like, you know, maybe raising their voice I think we are the ones that would talk back and and we're married to each other So so I think like so it's like we can either have like an actual So I think with us, I'm like either we can have a nuclear bomb go off right now where I can just like shut up and walk away And so then I just shut up and walk away Interesting I think we're both peacemakers You're probably the peacemaker in your family what you say would you say kill was a peacemaker back? No, I would I Would like just try to make humor out of you would yeah, and I could never do the smooth things over cable crack Crack it you definitely the peacemaker yeah, yeah, like I would I feel like I'd like Mimic my mom when she would get angry That's the that's the hard part for me is like I've never been funny. And so try to crack jokes did not work You're not funny. Yeah, go to your own. It just piss her off more This one says who's more likely to stalk someone on Instagram, didn't you get a LinkedIn to stalk people's See people could see who profile you looked at and I was like well, I'm not gonna use it. Yeah, I'm premium Well, I don't know who's got premium who doesn't they don't need to be no People doing for work. It is just like a goldish box thing. Oh listen I have never had it linked in for long enough to learn how it works But yeah, I did consider that. I was like, I'm curious what I'm doing for work these days So I don't do you ever saw people in Instagram not really? I don't know No, I don't I feel like maybe it's me then because I feel like sometimes if I that's where I have to be careful with social media Sometimes I see you can always see everybody's highlight reel and you get jealous and you're like wow What is their life looks so much better than mine? What are they up to they look so everything looks amazing? Yeah, so it's interesting. I feel like being in this industry. I'm like I know in my head I'm like that's good for them, but I think in my head. I'm like I know it's always not Like I don't feel like I struggle with the jealousy or comparison online because I think just knowing this I'm like I know what I post first. Sometimes what's going on behind the scenes. Mm-hmm You know, you know how like fake you are Just is like the best moment You know and I shared the hard things, but I never shared them in the moment So I would like to hope in the hard. It's right with heart and humor. Thank you guys. Yeah This was just pointed who is more likely to get hangry and start a fight. Abby Do you remember that you want to pick a fight? It's kind of giving me the itch to just, you know, you're the cutest you're the cutest little pregnant lady there ever was Do you remember when we were in Hawaii and that would like just pull over any time Abby said she would get hungry? That we kind of talked about that on the last episode. I was like, maybe that's why see I didn't even perceive it that way That's how spoiled I am. No, I don't think it's but I mean I think it was out of care to like take care of his wife And we're like why was I so hungry? - I feel like we're gonna most fights at airports 'cause you're always hungry. - There's something about this. I walked through security and my stomach just empties. - And she's like, "You need food immediately," or you're never gonna be able to find the airport to do. - Well, that's what's dangerous with Abby is like, she doesn't even know, like it's kind of like with CJ, he doesn't tell you when he's hungry. That's Abby, so I have to like predict, I have to do like a pretty couple analysis to know when she's gonna be hungry. - It's been four hours. - Like it Disney, I could tell Abby was so hungry. And so I got Wetzel's pretzels, but I knew that she did not wanna do that, so it was gonna slow us down from getting in the park. And then when I brought the pretzels, then she ate some and the kid ate some 'cause everyone was hungry, you know. - Yeah, totally. - That's good, that's good. You're just anticipating your wife's needs. Who is more likely to overthink a social interaction for days? - Oh me for sure. - Matt, I will. - Yeah, you do, do. - I'm surprised you're saying that. - I'm surprised you're saying that too. I think in high school you used to care more so about what people thought about you. - Yeah, I feel like everyone cares. I didn't really care. - Yeah, you didn't have friends. - I had some amazing friends. It's not like a plethora of them. It's not a plethora. (laughs) But I had amazing friends. - I'm kidding. - I know. Who is more likely to accidentally overshare? - Me. - Yeah, me. Oh my gosh, Matt Howard, if I could just inter, like this, say Matt has to call to like, say a shingle in our on our roof is out. - Oh gosh. - And this poor ruffer is gonna get a whole narrative. - That comes from Teresa. (laughs) - A hundred percent. - I like there's so many unnecessary details that you just threw in there. That this poor guy is just gonna have to sort through. - I was actually thinking about that today. For work, a company we're working with texted me asking when we're gonna be there the next week. And I was thinking like, oh, I could give them all these details. I'm like, no, that's mom. She'd give so much. - Dude, so you gotta let them know why? - She's gonna watch this. - No, that's actually, so I love you, mom. - He got to let them know why. - That's just your trade. - That's one of the best uses of AI for me is like, I will just share like five minutes of details. So I'll say to AI and then it consolidates it until like two sentences and I'm like, oh yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Like all that other stuff I said literally is not relevant to this person at all. - Hmm. So we're gonna do the rest of this extended version on Patreon and we'll come back. - These questions are way more juicy. - Oh my, no, they're not. - No, no, no. - But they're gonna be fun. I have some on here that I'm excited to hear you guys answer on. For this next segment, we are titling it. We asked your wife and we're gonna see how well you guys know us, your wives. Well, how well Caleb knows Abigail and Matt knows me. - Can we keep score? - Yeah. - That could be fun. - How many games we playing? This is a lot of games. - This is not a game. This is a segment. - Oh, okay. - And it's our last game segment. - No. (both laughing) - I was actually very curious. I'm like, does Caleb know me? - I think you do. - Yeah, and I have to disclose that we have an advantage because we filmed an episode for our podcast on Tuesday. Very similar vibes to this. - Okay. - Very similar vibes. - So I gotta come to play. - You have to come to play it. Also, we'll say I didn't really know how to answer some of these. - Yeah, there was a couple. I'm like, I'm gonna just be like, you and Matt says. - Yes. - Okay, the first one is what is the most annoying thing that you do that I think is the most annoying thing? - That you do. - That I do. - What's the most, what is the most annoying thing? - No, that you do. - You do. - No, that is a bother. - No, that's not it. - That is a bother you? - No, it does bother me, but that's not the most. - Oh, leaving my socks out? - No, that doesn't bother me. - What talent of ed? - No, just give me either. - I don't really do that. - Sorry, you're exposing yourself. - I don't really, socks, yes, the wet towel. I don't really. - You don't really do that. - Is it like putting something away? - No, it was the fart, farting in the morning. When I was still asleep. That's a rude wake up call. - Wakes me up. - That's what I did. What is it with the morning? - I don't know. - I feel like you've been better lately. - It's like my alarm clock. - Yeah, I think because you do wake up so you've been waking up so early that it hasn't. - I wake up at 4.45 most morning. - Yes, you're out of the bed during that phase and I haven't heard it like 4.45. - No, that's like literally a Howard thing 'cause when I went on my first trip with Abby's family when we were in high school, I ripped one at like just like seven o'clock in the morning and you woke up and Abby called it trumpet butt. - Oh, okay. - It's a real thing. - It's a Howard thing. - It's so shocking. Okay, Matt, what do you do that annoys me? There's several things there. - Oh, so many things. - Chewing, my chewing annoys you, my, if I like him, if I get like snifferly with my nose like, I'm like trying to like sniff up like congestion. You're like, this is gross stuff. - No, no, no, I call it yacking. - Oh yeah, the little, yeah, little throat thing. Oh yeah, I'm trying to like swallow. I'm trying to swallow. - And this. - Okay, I don't do that. - Yes, you do, Matt, you do. - I'll do it in the shower, but then it's like, this is my private time. I'm taking a shower. I'm trying to clear up and he does a lot of weird things in the shower. Another one would be when you burp, when you're not eating anything. And you're eating something and you burp, that's fine. But like if you just wake up in the morning and you just burp like belch loudly, I'm like, where did that even come from? - This is what I find. - Is that not weird? - Belches, yeah. - And they smell weird. - You're not burping. - No, you don't. - I feel like I never burp. - You never burp any first a lot. And my worst setting for you farting is in the car. - The boys think it's so weird. - Don't do it in the car. Just do it outside before we get in the car. - Getting a reaction from your son's is great. - It's so fun. It's so cute. - Dude, every time. - Sounds a good one. Those go on. - I did it. - And dude, and dude, I read them a bedtime story every night and then after the bedtime story, they want me to tell them another one, but like make up a story. And every time the character has to fart and they laugh so hard. Like for two and three-year-old, the funniest thing that possibly can happen in a story for a two and three-year-old is someone farting. And then Griffin wants to tell a story. - And then he's like, and then he tweeted, boom, boom. And he like does that. And then Auggie, what's really cute is an Auggie will tell a story too. And he basically just like does a summary of the story that I told. - Or Griffin. He'll just repeat for a story or a math story. - And I have to like help him get through it. - Yeah, he gets stuck. - Some of the words, he can't really articulate. - Oh my gosh, that's really fun. - Well, I feel like we just put you on blast. What's the most annoying thing that I do to you? - Wow. - Oh. Matt will never answer these. You think he's getting cornered. (laughing) That's funny. - I just have trauma from the stupid stuff I've said, going viral. Everyone hates me. - No, only clip, only clip. - No. - The only thing that you say that you think is annoying and that would be the clip. - Yeah, seriously. - Not my whole list. - We've already discussed it. It's you being late. - Yeah. - Yeah, it sounds me. - That's about it. - Don Deloney just says to go separate. That I told Matt I was gonna do that, and Matt goes, "That's rude." I think it's rude too, it hurts my feeling. - Well, yeah, maybe you'll change. (laughing) - It's okay, but he's the one that's late in their relationship. So I think it was fair for him to say that. - That's true. - Okay, what's her idea of a perfect date? - September. - It's like a date, like a calendar date. (laughing) - That went over my head. - Okay, that's right. - It's from Miss Virginia. - I've never seen that movie. - Me either, but I just know it's a thing. - I thought you just came up with that. - No. I think it'd be something related to like no phones or like super intentional, a nice dinner, and then maybe something that's like, (laughing) knew that we've never done before. I was trying to think of the word for it. I don't remember the word. - Experience? - Yeah, do like something together. - Yeah. - Novel, novelty. - Fun. - So something that's novel, so I know I'm being vague, but novel, dinner, minimal phone, so a lot of intentional time. - I mean, that's amazing. That's a great answer. I did say hike and have dinner. Good food. - But I think hike is like a new route. - There you go. I love that. - What do you think I said, man? - For your perfect date. - G's gig after it. - And. - Do you want me to say that out loud? (laughing) - Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, come on. - A movie? - It doesn't get the point. - Oh, wow, oh, oh, no, I know this. And we've done it so many times. - I'm gonna go to Barnes & Noble, and we go pick Abby out a book. - Yeah, that's what I've brought. - Yeah, Abby loves going book shopping. - Yeah, I like it when you pick out my book for me. - I barely know how to read, but. (laughing) But I like going to Barnes & Noble, or like, when it's snowing. And I know we can't do that here in Phoenix. - Yeah, that's true. - But it's just like that cozy. - That sounds like I did like on it. - It's like a coffee. - And that right there is where we need to move back to Hawaii so that we can just experience, like, the snow. - The snow is snowing for Hawaii. - Do they have bars and no bars? - On Hollywood, bro, Mariah. - You had that really fun. You played that date night in Kansas City where we went to Barnes & Noble and you did a little scavenger hunt. And you had different things, like, pick out a book that makes you think of this, or like, you know, then we came and we convened and shared. - That was fun. - That was really fun. Okay, the question is, what's her most? prized material possession. Probably whatever book you're reading. Oh my gosh. What material possession? I could replace that easily. Okay, maybe I think oh you have said that you didn't care about our car when I bought it But then after driving the Tesla you were like I like driving this car. Matt That's not a problem. It's usually more like sentimental. Like something that is like irreplaceable There's only one of them. Yeah, all the cards that I wrote you whom you're dating. Oh, that's a good one. I was gonna say Maybe this is a bad answer, but just like the security box that's got No, don't you have a keepsake box with like Birth pictures. Yeah, that is it. Is that what you said? It's not what I said, but that is my answer Like yeah, cuz now I'm thinking to this a little bit more and I'm like I was like oh my memory I'll just sound pictures. Yeah, and like all of our love knitter love notes and just special I have special keepsake from a lot of like monumental things This isn't really toxic thing about me, but I'm not like attached to Really any item I Think once I lost my wedding ring the first time. I was like well. Oh, yeah I was on the honeymoon. I actually think that's healthy. Yeah, an episode of that turning the hoarders Yeah, but sometimes I'm like I really wish something was like super like that thing this year we're going on trip to Italy and If we have the money like I think it'd be fun for you to get a really Kind of like splurge on a bag. Ooh get a little good little Louis Vuitton purse. I really that's released with these either like I want you to be able to do something like crazy And that could be your like not sentimental, but you're like one thing. That's like Yeah, oh, I just you do you like designer. I have yeah, I always have sometimes a little kid I feel like I look at it in like the art category what you're like dream so like for me like When I was working at a financial planning firm and I was learning about like different corporations I thought like Tesla vehicles were cool. So like my dream was like one day. I'm gonna own a Tesla Like is there like a bag? You're like one day. I want that back No, I don't have I've actually been doing some research on bags because the beef kind of talked about this Um, I don't have just one because I feel like I get nervous where I'm like I don't want to pick one that's trendy or just like in the moment that I love Because I'm like well, maybe I do just find something that in the moment really speaks me and I'm feel like very drawn to But then I'm like, but then I just go something really classic. So I don't know I don't have any answer yet. No, we would never I'd be able to be offered an air miss I grew a country a good country. No, I actually know it's not air miss But there are different brains. I like specifically like their style, which brands. Um, I like Gucci I like Louis Vuitton. What's different like what makes Gucci and Louis V different than like airmez or other I just don't know that stuff. It's just kind of more like they're the vibe of their house like airmeas is very preppy Very polished. I don't think I'm very polished person like a Balenciaga girl. Oh, I mean Balenciaga is very sporty and cool and edgy I think they've kind of made a comeback, but they were at one point. Yeah Um, but I'm not very big Balenciaga. I don't know. I feel like I I've been thinking and I never thought about it a ton because I never really thought It would be something that I would like we would ever buy um, I just saw like a stupid video like I'm sorry. Yeah. When Balenciaga got cancelled There was just like prank channels that were like adding to the fire. Yeah, just like dude stupid stuff Just take it off. Sorry. I would want You and I think for me and we talked about this the other day. I could see myself like art Like Caleb with splurge on oh custom art like there was a YouTube Short that popped up and this guy uses only charcoal and he makes art And it was like Christian art. It's really cool. Like amazing incredible But his stuff was like 10k or 20 like the like the Jesus canter guy the guy that paints Jesus this guy is way better I mean, it's like it's it's art art. I really impressive. I think Oh, yeah, which obviously we can't afford that but yeah I yeah, I feel like in my head if I ever made like a like a big splurge like I'm talking Well, how much are those bags? There's three that two to three thousand. Okay. Okay. Yeah, gotcha Yeah, I mean some can get up to like 25. You know, I mean it doesn't agree and but that makes sense majority of them kind of fall on like the two to Five I was gonna preface it. We don't have the money for for this but I'm just saying the future Yeah, it's like a goal. It's one of our goals could do. Yeah, I like that But you guys don't have anything. We know Abby has no designer stuff Don't have anything design. No, not currently or like you don't have an item. That's like. Oh that yeah I thought of what I was kind of sad Well, I was thinking that mold of Emerson's foot would actually probably be the thing that we would probably want to take that's the only thing that we could that we have, you know That would be the one thing that's like irreplaceable but even that I'm like not specifically emotionally Attached to that. Did you know that I figured out what I wanted where I want Her name on my arm. Wow. This is the time that you're telling me this is the idea that I had like two days ago But I want to have all of our kid names on my arm and I want them to write their names So we need to teach all you had to write first Got work like here. Yeah, he's he's getting he's catching up fast You know, I'm more kids so just as they can write they get to yeah, they get to write Three years old you get to that. Oh, that'd be kind of cute with your birthday. You write on my arm That's good. You're four because you never did it for Griffin at three. Oh, you're four. You got to be yeah Yeah, let's give a little bit more practice on their penmanship. Let's just get pretty trick. I don't think I have a pretty trick I'm a pretty trick. What is it walking on your toes? No. Oh We'll skip it Why can't you say it? What is it? I got to know what it is now. I don't want to know. I think we've said this before and I'm playing it What kill can lactate It's a party Oh my gosh, that's too good. Cut it really good It's like when I've been working out a lot. Wait. Why does working out a lot make you lactate? It's a thing. I don't know. testosterone makes men lactate. I think both levels go up. I don't know. Are you kidding me? I know that. I don't know Yeah, you're telling me testosterone makes you lactate I think all my hormones go up. That's the one working out actually makes them girly or so Yeah, remember Bob and college used to be like I can't have soy milk because it gives you boobs That's great. Okay, who is her favorite artist? This one's easy. Well, not easy, but simple. Yeah, beaver. Yeah good I'm gonna be Johnny Swin. Yeah, yeah, Bob. Where is she happy? Yes Disney world. Oh my god That I'll take that I put with my family. Oh, okay. Oh, did you go location or? No, I didn't go location place Send on a couch watching low on the spectrum. No, baby. I just said with Caleb and I only said with my family because she said with Caleb Oh, well, I can't be a jerk I was like by myself with a marker Okay, what's our love language? All of them except for gifts. Yeah, you're right, but my main one is Quality time. Yeah service. Yes. Good job. Good job. Nice What's mine? Words of affirmation. What's man? Yeah, he likes words about his physical touch too Oh, because our parents who are gave us words of affirmation Your parents are very affirming. Yes, they are They're very very affirming. Oh, you know they're gonna watch this. My mom's gonna be pissed Oh, should we just say your parents are very very affirming me Say hi Teresa everybody look at the bill camera 3 2 1 hi Teresa We love you. We love you, Bob. Why does she spend the most money on? Grocery budget always gets blown. That's what I put Grocery really yeah, what do you find out the grocery store that you have to have? I just buy every I'm like yeah, that looks good I was like that's a good flavor. Yeah, I'm like that looks fun We gotta try that. Yeah, what's your budget? I'm so curious What is the budget for no? I never look at it. I just assume I'm like I probably wouldn't break do you know what's crazy? Yeah, I had it in my head. I'm like I don't want to go over this number each week Right 600 a month, which is just way too low. Yeah, I don't know like third person eats nothing What I think what always cracks me up is how everyone acts like Costco saving you money when like we never leave Costco without spending Yeah, you know like you just and you don't have to come back till next week No, this is the problem with Costco as soon as I find a snack and I'm like the kids are gonna love these As soon as you buy the Costco size they hate it and then you're stuck with it The kids really let me a stray on bobo. Yeah, that one. I love Costco But like you're not saving by more buying more they just have it into like a cool looking match that's pretty good You know, I will say they're fruit That's why I always go because the fruit is so affordable and way better at sams But then the other stuff in the meat too, but everything else isn't I actually do think I mean per like gram or item you do save But we can see. - Yes, you can swim more. - You can swim more, yeah. - Yeah, I, oh, the other thing, the reason we keep our Costco membership, though, is because of their return policy. It's amazing. I've heard of people that'll buy a couch and use the couch for like five years and then just take it back, return it, get their money back. - That's the same. - That's not okay, I'm not okay with that. But like, if we've had defective products, we had a vacuum we bought from Costco for like 600 bucks, took it back and there's no questions asked. - Yeah. - Do you guys go there for gas? - We don't do the gas. - We have electric vehicles. - Oh yeah, well one. - That's true. - Dude, the line that people stand. - Yeah, 'cause gas prices have been so high. - Yeah. - But you're sitting for 30 minutes. - I'm running your car. - You're losing a gallon of gas where you're sitting there. I don't know, I'm like, I don't know about that. - It's crazy. - What do I spend the most money on? - Probably clothes, I think. I think, 'cause I just saw, I just saw, I think like, $450 at Zara. - For our kids, which I'm like, that's okay, that's close. But yeah, what would you say for yourself? - Travel. - Oh yeah, that's one of the most expensive line items. - For sure. - Yeah, we do travel a lot. - Yeah. - How many PTO days do you guys get? - That's the thing is we-- - You never quite feel like vacation. (laughing) - Okay, so Disneyland, we made a YouTube video out of our Disneyland trip, which was cool. But yeah, what I would like to get better at is doing less, I would like to, we should do more intentional travel where we're not going to record a single thing. - Maybe one a year. - I don't know, just 'cause that would be cool. I feel so ridiculously lucky that we get to vlog and make that work when we travel. But it would be cool to just travel and not think about a video and just be completely 100% present, you know? It'd be cool. - Okay, last question is, what is your favorite thing about you? - I have a biceps. - I was going to put muscles, but then I was like, well that's, I was kidding. - I don't know. When you see me playing with CJ. - Yeah, it's weird. - Our kids. - I was trying to think of something that I've the whole time, I've like known you and loved you and I said he's so wise. - Thanks. - I love everything you say. - I love you. - I love it. - I love it since it's your biggest. - Matt, what do you think is my favorite thing about you? - My chest. Hey, listen. - My chest and my passion. My passion for chest. - Yes, which is, I said, you're friendly. - Oh. (laughing) - That's what I said on our podcast. - I know. - And you said passion. - We can't really get a point for that. - Yeah. - Ask, ask, ask, Abby. - Hey, well, that was really fun. - That was fun. - Yeah, we always do a voicemail segment on our podcast episode. And so we thought we'd be fine if we had voicemails that you guys answered. - Hey. - Yeah. - Oh, wow. - Hey guys, it's so fun that the husbands are on the podcast. Funny questions for you guys. If you and your spouse got arrested, what do you think it would be for? - Thanks for you guys. - What do you think it would be for? - Oh, oh, oh, oh. - Arrested, something really dumb. Like something really stupid. - Like we forgot to do something. We forgot to pay a bill. That's what it'd be for us. We forgot to pay a bill and we're like, - No. - You don't get arrested for that. - You don't get arrested for, no. - Tax evasion probably. - No. (laughing) - Honestly, taxes really diffuse me. - No. - The thing, the thing that I was thinking of is like if our kid has to like really pee and there's no bathroom close to public, just go on the bushes, whatever. And like. - Yeah. - I don't know, but like isn't that technically, you know, in decent public, in decent public. - That's the thing about us being public in decent public. - Speeding. - Speeding. - Yeah. - I'm not a, okay, going back to the not wanting to answer your phone, you also don't look at your mail. So I could see Matt getting like a couple tickets and then not paying. - Missing, missing a court. Like missing a court. - Missing a court. - Missing a court. - Yeah, I could, that could happen to me. - Because of the mail. - Yeah. - That's good. - But I feel like the heart of that question was like something you guys did together. - Oh, yeah. - Yeah. - Oh. - You guys could be the public in decent public. - No. - We're not like that. - That's what Caleb-- - We're not like Caleb. - That's what Caleb just said. - We're not like, that's true. - We love to get it on, but we're not the couple going out of the bedroom, right? - No. - Like, we've always been strictly in the bedroom. - Honestly, honestly. - Yeah. - I'm not like that. - Yeah. - I am too scared. - What would ours be? - Ma'am, we are a Christian couple. We don't break the law. - That's true. - But it would be probably-- - Oh, looking decent, isn't it? - No, yeah. Wow. - What else would it be? - I don't know, honestly. 'Cause, yeah, I don't know. - Didn't we, weren't we making out when we were dating? One time when a police officer came up and like knocked on the window and was like, "You guys need to leave?" - Everyone tried to happen. - Yeah. - They have. - Yeah, thank you. - They have. - This is a really good make out. Hey, Abby and Abby, this is Gracie. I was wondering if you and your husbands have any marriage advice for newlywed couples, getting married here at the end of May, and I would like some advice with that, as well as any advice for young newlywed couples. We are only 19 and 20. Thank you and have a great day. - Wow. - She sounds like she is. - Yeah, what's-- - Congrats, Gracie. - Yeah, congratulations. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I think like my number one advice would be like have good people in your life, like speaking in your life. If you want a mentor that could be someone from whatever religious institution you attend, it could be a counselor. It could be just someone like that, like a couple that you look up to, just because I think like you're going to, it's just inevitable that you're going to encounter conflict at some point in your marriage, and you just want to like stay the course and remember why you made that commitment to each other, 'cause I think we live in a world today where people are just so quick to be like, girl, you deserve better, like what a, like, but I think it's like you just, I think marriage and like relationships are about being selfless and like loving your partner well, and I think if you both approach the relationship from that viewpoint, I think you're going to have a very long happy marriage. - Hmm, it's great advice. - I agree. - But 86% of it won't be solved with any of that. (laughing) So just, we're about, Caleb, what's yours? - You're at the age where there is still so much life to do, and you're not established yet, and who we've felt this, like, you know, we weren't, people who were getting married at 30 are like, understand how life works a little bit more, and are probably more often than not, less financially stressed, and just enjoy those times together, 'cause there will be hard times, but they'll be, it's fun to look back on like, yeah, we were slumming it together, you know? - Yeah, look at those times in your 20s when you're, we call them our struggle years, but in like a fond way. It's like our time, your time to like, figure it out, and try new things, and throw spaghetti at the wall, and see what works and what does it, and like, struggle together. And I feel like that has given us a fun, and a cool foundation for, hopefully, our successful years. - You guys would throw spaghetti at a wall, for fun? - Just for fun, yeah. - Cut that, we can, we can cut that. (laughing) That was bad. (laughing) - I like this. - Wait, is your advice like, like, make money young, so you don't have to be stressed with you? (laughing) 'Cause like, enjoy it, enjoy it. - Just enjoy your struggles. - Enjoy it, just enjoy it. - Enjoy the grind together. Like, enjoy slumming it, work in hard, figuring things out. - I've never heard that term slumming it. I've never, I feel like it's a term. - I think it's a term. - Okay. (laughing) - Like, you're not gonna move into, I don't know what they do for, but you're not gonna move into like a $3,000, three bedroom apartment, penthouse, and whatever city you live in, like, most likely you're gonna be somewhere more affordable. Most like, most people. - At 19, yeah, usually. - Yeah. - You can't only go and adventurous the other, just do a bunch of new things together. - Yeah, that's really fun. - Yeah. - Hey, this is Kaby. This question's for Caleb and Matt. I'm a long-time listener, a big fan of the shows, and, yeah, big fan, big fan of work, guys. But, yeah, I know both girls have said in the past that you guys don't think they're mean to ever, except when you're sick. Hey, I know Matt, I just gotta say, like, these Abbie's and Abigail and Adi, like, they're just so beautiful and funny, and smart, and amazing, talented, and I mean, even like humble, really humble. So, my question is maybe, do you guys ever look anywhere? (laughs) This is Abbie. - Maybe, maybe, why? - Wait, yeah, that's my question. Love the God. - Who is that? (laughs) - That's Abigail. Wait, that's Abigail. (laughs) What's that, you? That's Abigail. - That's not even so good. - Dude, that voice. (laughs) Like, actually. - Oh, that's so funny. - You did so smart and pretty. - I know that. - I just went like this. Hey, this is Kaby. - You said Kaby? - I was like, "Kaby, when at the name was like what?" - Well, the name was like that. - Wait, wait, the question. - I can't believe it. - That's so funny. - Hey, this is Kaby. - Kaby. - Kaby. - And I love that. - I'm a long time listener. Big thing had the shows. And yeah, big things. - It's like you got a breath. - But yeah, I know girl's role has been in this past. - Not stop. - You guys don't think they're mean to ever except when you're sick. And I know that I was gonna say like these Abbie's and Abigail and Adi, like they're just so beautiful and funny, smart and amazing, talented, and I mean, even like humble, really humble. - So that was where I knew it was you. - Sometimes it is maybe you guys ever look inward, inward maybe, and see maybe why. - Yeah, that's my question. - Basically, Kaby's asking, you know basically, saying where the problem and our relationship is with us. - Earlier when I was like, I don't want to talk about the sick things 'cause I knew that question was coming. So I was like, we're not talking about this. Because I know I had this boy smell plant. - Yeah, it's a problem. - Wait, wait, let's address this right now. - Okay. - And then do you ever think you should look inward? - Or maybe. - Or maybe. - Kaby, we just established that our wives become little demons when we're sick. - Little demon ladies. - Yeah, they do. - We cough two times and it's like, oh my god. - The horns come out. - What a lose, get over yourself. You're not sick, it's all on your head. - I sneeze and I, like you just turn into a little, yeah. (Kaby laughing) - I'm not very funny so I shouldn't let you make that joke. - I'll say, well I just feel like when I'm sick, I'm still going, I don't sleep all day. I don't sit on the couch. - What are you doing your sick? (Kaby laughing) - Well you're at work scale so I'm working. I'm don't take care of the kids, what do you do too? - I have never taken a sick day since we've had children. Neither. Hava? - We were both grown up pretty good couples. - Being sick together is a crazy experience. - Oh it is bad. - There's no parenting happening. - Yeah. - I love it. - Or it's movie day for everybody. - Yeah everybody, this is movie day. - Movies are play, you watch Paw Patrol Mighty Pubs seven times. (Kaby laughing) Maybe not that much. We probably did like two or three movies when we were sick. You know, you know, yeah, just survival. - It is. - I love that for you, I just pretend that I'm not sick. - It is. - It's good. - It was. - I love that for you. - Just try it next time. (Kaby laughing) No, one time I was thinking about recently when you were sick I was like, you know what Matt always says, I'm so mean when he's sick. I'm just gonna prove to him that I'm not. I made you homemade too but I really tried that day. - That was really sweet. - But I know that if you were to wake up sick the next day, you had 24 hours for that version of me, it was gonna expire the next week. (Kaby laughing) I was like, and then you know what, you were better the next day. So I was like, maybe at every time I'll just give him 24 hours. - Yeah, I see 24 hours of grace. - And then I was like making sure it was like, (Kaby laughing) deep breath becomes downstairs. Sometimes when you have the sunglasses on inside. - Yeah, well you know, when I get a headache from the congestion, it's always freaking congestion. Like it just hits my head and it feels like there's an elephant on my head. And so wearing sunglasses, less light going in my eyeballs, makes my head hurt less. - That one gets me. - Yeah, I'll bowl you for that one. - That one gets me. - Yeah. - Just sleeping all day. It's okay, you know. - What do I specifically do that annoys me? - It's just the sleeping. I'm like, he's just abandoning me. He's abandoning me and it just hurts. I did feel really bad and we both were sick and then I started to feel better and I started eating my soup and then came. It was a lot. I saw your face change. - Caleb started like gagging 'cause he was gonna throw up. But I was sitting there eating my dinner and he was just gagging at that point and I looked at him like this and I go, I'm eating my dinner. (laughing) You mean? And then he started throwing up and it was a lot. And then I immediately felt really horrible 'cause I was like, that was so mean and I had to apologize. And I comforted you and you. - I feel like when you threw up. - I literally was just like, I'm eating my dinner. When girls throw up. (laughing) When girls throw up, it's like, when guys throw up, it's like, (screaming) It's different. (laughing) - No, my love. It's so loud. - Your sound's like the wall. - I scared you. - Yeah, you did. I was like, I think. - You're like, oh, I see why it feels bad. - I think there's a bear in here. I don't know. It's so scary. I'm like, do you need to do that? Like, you're just like a really loud cough. Everyone's cloaked off by now. - Certainly. Certainly that I've done. - You gotta get out of here. - That may believe. - Well, that prank had me on it just all the time. - Have you ever looked in order? (laughing) If I seemed to off this episode, it's because I've been so anxious about that prank. - Can we answer any more questions from Kaby? Does Kaby have any more? - Kaby, that did not sound like you. - No, it didn't. - No, it didn't honestly. - It got me. - Yeah, hearing that back, I was like, oh, I shouldn't have been a little more obvious, baby. (laughing) - I'm sorry, I'm sorry. - You know that part of Kaby? - Yes. (laughing) - I was so out of breath. - No, what would have been funnier is if you would have asked a real question, and then we answered that you're like, you guys die laughing. Like, I think you were, you were so close. Like, you could have asked a real question. - Yeah. - The humble thing that was what I knew. (laughing) - When they said Kaby, I was like, what the heck is that? And you start-- - Kaby girl. - You start chuckling a little bit. And I'm like, I want to laugh, but I don't want to make fun of this girl. (laughing) Well, you started laughing. Yeah, I didn't want to make fun of her either. And then I started laughing when I realized that it was like a prank. (laughing) - I was just, I couldn't believe it was your voice. - Yeah, I don't actually know how I did that. Hey guys, this is Kaby. (laughing) - Yeah, that's how I did it. Do we have recipes? Yeah, I can do one. - Okay, do you want to do recipes, guys? - Yes, we'd love to. - So last week, I made breakfast for dinner. - Oh. - And that was tater tots, eggs, and CJ's favorite, Jimmy Dean sausages. (laughing) I made all of that. And then also we had some fruit that I was already cut up. - Yeah. - And some yogurt. - Perfect. - And that was Dad Dinner. - That was a great dinner. - When I do Dad Dinner, it's, I usually grill. But actually, I always grill. I don't think I've, I can't remember the last time that I've like cooked our dinner and it wasn't me, grilling. But usually when I grill, which is essentially every single time I grill, Abby will make the broccoli and then we'll heat up rice in the microwave. - Delicious. - Yeah. - What's your favorite grill seasoning? - Abby seasons the salmon, it's really good. - I'm a marinated seasoner. - I love salmon. That's my favorite. I think it just, it's, I've never. - Been into marinades more. - Yeah. - But we do really like the kinders. They're basic seasonings. - They're really good. - We've been trying out steak. I did burn the steak two times. - We're doing steak again tonight. So you got a more chance. - Yeah, but I learned to turn the grill heat down. - We'll see. - You guys need to find a happy medium. - Yeah, you probably get a good crust. I didn't get a good crust while my inside the steak was perfect, but I didn't sear it enough. So there wasn't like a good crust. - Oh, okay. - I even like burnt steak though. So it's okay. - Well, I mastered how to make chicken and salmon and burgers, and then I tried to do steak and it was like, it's completely different. - It's the most literal grill chef that exists. - He doesn't mess it up. - I follow the temperature to the heat. It's all about the temperature of the meat. - Yeah, you do grill very well. - Aw, thank you. - I'm upset. I'm more just visual. - Oh really? - You can keep the temperature. I could not do that. 'Cause sometimes there's like one random piece that's like not hitting 165 when it's chicken, and like you cannot serve your kids raw chicken. You're gonna make 'em sick, you know? So it's the bigger piece. - No, actually the other day it wasn't. It was a small piece. It was just on a part of the grill that wasn't getting heat for some reason. - It's true. - Yeah. - Okay, well I guess they took care of that. - I love that. - That wasn't really a recipe, Matt. - If you want to have the best dinner of your life, that's really easy. Just grill some salmon. Put a little bit of lemon. What do you season the salmon with? - Some lemon, some really good. I love sea salt. They're actually local here. It's S-E-E. They have this garlic and herb salt sea salt. That's on top. It's really really good. - Can you sprinkle the salt and then lemon, anything else? - It comes, I get it pre-marinated. - Oh, but we've done non-marinated sea salt. - Yeah, I just use lemon in that salt and then we put sauce on it at the end. - Oh, that's actually the special thing, the special ingredient to have really good salmon is put sweet-tide chili sauce on your rice. And then it just pairs so nicely with the broccoli and the lemon. - I think it'd be fun if you guys did like, but they do on those cooking shows where they cook any talking scenes. I don't know how you do that. - Yeah, they have it like a podcast, but you make something for the podcast. - Wait, that would be really cute. - Yeah, what if you ladies hit a podcast while you're cooking? - That'd be fun. - It's like a great idea. (laughing) - Mike, guess what, let's go. Okay, well, we have a review. We just want to shout out those of you that like, comment, rate, give it five stars. And recently, some of you guys have been hyping us up on YouTube apparently. - Really? - Really? - Because our last podcast episode got hyped. - Oh yeah, we got hyped. - How does that work? - So we looked it up. - We did have to Google what that meant. - And meet some of our viewers. It's a feature for smaller creators. But like some of your viewers they get a certain amount of hype they can do and our viewers hyped us Wait, that's so nice. I know it's so Thanks for hyping them.
