Questioning The Norm: Motherhood, Fascia, Birth & Low-Tox Living with Amelia Stewart-Short
72m 58s
Amelia Stewart Short joins the podcast to discuss her unconventional wellness and motherhood practices, which stem from a dramatic personal transformation. She candidly recounts a violent assault at 16 that led to drug and alcohol abuse, followed by recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous and meeting her husband. A pivotal iboga ceremony in Gabon helped her achieve emotional wholeness and spiritual clarity, including visions of her children. This experience shifted her away from a superficial LA lifestyle toward intentional living, including conscious conception and holistic health choices guided by a chiropractor. Amelia now applies these principles to her family, focusing on circadian biology and natural living. She highlights two key practices: replacing LED lights with incandescent or red/amber bulbs to support melatonin and improve sleep, and avoiding sunglasses to allow natural light to regulate mood and energy. She acknowledges practical limits, such as wearing hats or specialized glasses in intense sun. Her philosophy emphasizes questioning modern norms, trusting health intuition, and sharing research-driven insights to empower others. Through her growing Instagram presence, she aims to challenge conventional motherhood and wellness narratives, encouraging listeners to live deliberately and align with their biology. Her story underscores resilience, the power of alternative healing, and the importance of creating a low-tox, intentional home environment.

Amelia, thank you so much for joining us today. Thank you Natalie. Coral, for having me. I think we should start by finding out a little bit about you and your journey and what led you to the life you're leading today. Okay, so I mean where to start? I guess I crashed and burned really young. So I went off the rails as a teenager and had some pretty traumatic experiences that really influenced the woman that I am today and I'm actually so grateful for them. So by the time I was 18, I'd already had a kind of nightmare experience with an ex boyfriend and that was when I was 16 who completely disfigured me. I had all most of the bones broken in my face, my nose, my cheekbone, my jawbone, my eye bone. I was strangled, I had chunks bitten out of me and it was like a zombie horror movie. And after that my descent into drugs and alcohol abuse, you know, was catalyzed, understandably, when it was already something that I was using to numb and escape uncomfortable feelings. And I'm so grateful for that experience and then a two-year court case that followed because it brought me to my knees and brought me to my husband actually. I met my husband in an AA meeting in Chelsea when I was 18 and we've been together 18 years now. And like he's really just the crux of this whole experience of my life because it's thanks to him that I am who I am today and we've grown together and created this family with three beautiful children and one on the way. But after crashing and burning so young and finding my feet, I went from being a total atheist like I'm living on an island, I'm here for myself, you're here for yourself, you know, let's try and be nice to each other. To finding my own understanding of a higher power, which was through AA in the 12 steps. And after that journey began, everything really opened up for me and we moved to Los Angeles because my husband has family there and we both have American passports so we were kind of he was back and forth and we decided to just go and have a great experience for four years we were there. And I did a plant medicine experience with a bogus which is rooted from the wheaty tradition in Gabon in Africa, West Central Africa and it's the second layer of bark off of the aboga tree. And it honestly is different to anything else I could have imagined it is the most like grounding and subconscious opening experience and it allows you to tap into basically the Akashic records of your life and go through all the experiences that you've ever had from a bird's eye view and actually resolve and make peace with them. And so I did that and just felt this whole that I had felt before close up and I felt from like a whole to wholeness and that really changed my life and I actually went to Gabon a few times and did the initiations there and actually my mother has been to Gabon to and my brother and so it's really been a family affair. And I was like Ayahuasca so you can take it and make a difference. But I guess you would think it was similar by the way it's done as in your all-weng white, your on mattresses on the floor, this is the like Western version of Northern Gabon. It's different there. There you're in a temple. I was alone in the temple and for a week and you're just there. And yeah, I was by myself other people were in another temple with other people it's called a chamber actually and yeah, there were like rats and tarantulas and then it was wild and I was freaking out. I was alone. But it changed my life and it completely humbled me like in a way that I don't think I would know how to be humbled and I left that like completely grounded in who I really am in my life. In my essence, in my essential nature and all the bullshit that I had in my lab as well. That I had been experiencing before and the superficiality, especially living in LA. I moved to LA when I was 21. I was doing Botox at 21 and I was like completely immersed in that world even though it was you know under the guise of wellness because I'm going to the juice bars and getting the SIE bowls and going hiking and running in canyon. But you know, I was I was still living a very superficial life and going to go born just whacked me down and made me realize I'm perfect as I am and so is everyone else and it's okay to do whatever you want to do. But you don't need to in order to be okay. So I had this life changing experience through a bogga and we tea and I actually the first time I went I had a vision of my son being born and the master there said to me when I was debriefing my dreams after the week he said just you watch you're going to leave here and your stomach's going to start growing. I was like okay I left and we conceived him right when I got home and yeah he was born nine months later or turn actually because I go really long on my pregnancies. And yeah it was really and actually I went back when I was pregnant six months pregnant and did a special initiation for the unborn baby which is what everyone does. And just to clarify it's not dangerous it's completely it's like a baptism for the baby soul and it's not about taking large doses of anything they give you just a symbolic dose and you're in the chamber where the frequency is so high that you don't need to take anything to have the most incredible visions and I will say it was a very difficult initiation because it wasn't my initiation it was my baby unborn babies. And so I was like the vessel there you know that was a digital clock in the chamber and I was just like counting down tallying down the minutes for the week to be over it was like being in jail. Wow. So you did a week while you're pregnant? I did a week while I was pregnant and I cried the whole way there but I had meditated before and just gotten the clearest vision from my baby who took me to this Jasmine bush outside the temple and it's called the Mumbai ano chamber where you meet your higher self your highest self and actually it's it's amazing because you get shown your higher self and everyone has a different higher self of course. Yeah. But they're all wearing a different outfit. And so you get shown your higher self mine looked like Glinda the good which in the Wizard of Oz and she's so beautiful and she had this like poofy dress with sparkles on. And after when you leave the initiation you go into the fabric shop and you have drawn up because you've got a notebook that you write everything out so you go into the fabric shop and you pick out the fabric and you take it to the dress makers and they make a dress and then you take it to the temple and the master consul creates your outfit so you then have. Your higher self out of it so you would break it Glinda has a glinda's outfit but I was the tiniest I've ever been and it was before pregnancy that I got that and so the outfit I mean I was teeny and then I got pregnant and I've never fit back into it but I have it and I spread it out. Yeah. So that was that was that yeah wow. Yeah I've had a lot of wild experiences and and a journey and it has been something then that led me to being very alternative and very questioning of the status quo of what we're told is the way things should be. Yeah and before I got pregnant so when we were still living in LA I met this incredible chiropractor called doctor garrath monks and I started working with him and he was incredibly holistic he taught me about western a price and you know all the dental staff and I went keto through him at the time which turned out to not be the right fit for me but just questioning all the things that we're told. And he started me on a two year preconception journey where I was you know eating the organ meats and eating you know four eggs a day for the colon all high quality everything wrong. Getting really into it collagen gelatin and my husband we had like we had a two hour meeting with him about the fact that we wanted to have a baby in the future. and um. So that was the start of my understanding of conscious conception and then the spiritual connection as well to My babies that I've had as well It's very special where they come to me in dreams or in meditations and I really feel the essence of who they are And I've had that with every child so she before you're pregnant. Yes Yeah, yeah before I'm pregnant when I'm like tuning into that desire that you know, I know there's a baby there for us and So doctor monks was really our Eskimo into a more alternative world And he told me you know some truths about vaccines and that I wouldn't have known you know, I grew up in a very medical family I was fully vaccinated as a child. I went to the doctor. I took cough medicine I did all the things that you know my children don't do yeah out of my you know my choice and Doctor monks was our Eskimo like if I hadn't met him Maybe I would be a completely different person. I said that sliding doors And also it's once you know these things you can't unknow them And then it's like it almost opens up a whole new world That's what I found over the years. It's like that once you understand what the system is doing Yes, it's like go back. It's like a magic trick when you're showing how the magic trick It's revealed that in a working so that you'll never look at that magic trick again and be like oh what an amazing magic trick Yeah, oh, I know how that goes yeah and Yeah, it has been an incredible journey and birth is such a huge part of that journey because how we come into the world You know influences everything going forward and so I actually I watched a movie called which is quite a mainstream movie by Ricky Lake called the business of being born do you remember Ricky Lake? Yeah, yeah, they're really American Yeah, yeah, like I remember back in the day I'd watch Ricky Lake and Mori Poverts Yeah, yeah Joe's finger. Yeah, Mori. I loved Mori and she did a Documentary on the business of being born and how home birth is the way forward and kind of exposing the medical industrial system and I watched that You know that must have been 15 years ago in LA and I was like wow I really felt a cool to go into birth But I didn't know how and before you've given birth, you know, it's hard to To really be in a position of teaching and guiding other women like you know people do it But my personal feelings that you need to have that direct experience. Yeah, so I became a hypno-bathing You know teacher not to teach but because I wanted to know everything for myself and to share it with my friends Which is just what I do. I'm like I love learning and deep diving and going down rabbit holes and then Sharing it, you know freely with everyone that we're doing a fantastic job Thank you and we were discussing previously you recently started your Instagram again Yeah, started fresh and you've grown very very quickly and the knowledge and Information that you are sharing is absolutely incredible and we're very very grateful And that's why we wanted to get you on for this conversation today because we both feel very aligned with the messages that you're showing But we also think it's really important for these messages to be shared more so yeah, thank you for that Okay, but um Yeah, you recently shared something which I thought was interesting Which is the eight unhinged things that you do for your body and home that actually work and I think it's actually a really good place for us to start Okay, um Can we go through that list? Yeah, so the first thing is red bulbs at sunset what changes have you noticed from changing your light Environment will start with that. Okay, so I like to describe it as when we've got LED lighting We are going against nature and our biology because LED lights they're like alien lights They're not made in the way incandescent lights are which is Lit from within like a kind of almost a mini fire burning out which is so beautiful to look at And they can be bright and their full spectrum, but LED lights are like these alien junk lights that have this blue light spike That shocks your system unknowingly and flickers constantly so incandescent do flicker, but they flicker in the way of flame flickers So it's not actually dangerous and harmful to your biology So by removing all LED lights from our home and I do have some LED Like specialist blue light blocking ones that have amber or red hues for at nighttime But I have mainly incandescence in our home So it's going back to like how we all grew up we all grew up within cadastan nights, and then they made them illegal Well, I was gonna say I saw something that also said Recently that basically light bulbs used to last such a long time and it was on the by now documentary And they were saying that if you can kind of create Products end of like shelf life almost then it makes more money Light bulbs used to last forever and then all of a sudden they realized they could make more money if they created light bulbs that died So that was also part of the kind of blue light thing, but also I think the blue light is also a lot to do with control Yes, and it's like the iPhone they make batteries so that they run out and you're laptop after a set man It's disposable and then we have to consume more Yeah, yeah, so we changed everything like even our fridge Which is what I told you when we met and um I noticed and this was back when the sun was setting earlier I will give that disclaimer so now bed times are a bit harder because the sun is still up So by all the men to be away yeah to be awake and I'm like to the kids is bedtime It was working so well three months ago Yeah, husband said you know I think it's one of those things that are just stopped working. I'm like no babe We have the lights on yeah, it's not that it's the light of the sun Um, so he was oh yeah, that makes sense, but he's he's like my height man. He just goes with whatever I say Um, so at the time when the sun was setting at a normal hour My kids were just like yawning. Oh, we're tired and they just get climb into bed full of sleep Which was unheard of my two boys would be like wrestling and you know Hiked up jumping on the bed even when I've done everything I've done like the magnesium foot rubs and the baths and the lavender And the sound gong music and often Spotify playlist and we'd done it all and none of it worked I even made tart cherry gelatin gummies which are meant to help you kind of calm down for bed But the problem is is that the melatonin is not able to rise when there's blue lights yeah Blue lights LED lights and also it goes hand in hand with being able to watch the sunrise So when you wake up and you see the sunrise It signals to your brain to wake up and then it actually is the precursor to melatonin So if you don't have that then the melatonin is not kind of in line how it should be and I'm not I'm not a specialist with this But I'm someone who researches deeply and then just applies it to my own family and gets to experience the results So it has changed our lives big time and I'm looking forward to you know something we could do is just have Curtains that black out the house and then we could do that for earlier bed times that I feel like we should do that Because I'm really getting tired As I exactly need to rest I would love to just have it earlier better So much easier in winter I feel like it's really struggling where it's lighter now or so yeah my oldest just doesn't want to go to sleep Because she used to going to sleep in the dark yeah, so it's actually you have to I actually bought these um Like you can felt and not the black out blends yes And you just suck them did you get the non toxic ones from what this was years ago? Yeah, I haven't got them now because there are some really good because they have like VOCs all of those There's a really good company that has a non toxic one that I might just get I think it's pure earth collective I haven't bought them yet, but I'm I'm gonna do that. Yeah, inspired me My I read lights on at night and just everyone goes to sleep Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, um, so the next one was no sunglasses now We've heard this before but can you break it down for everyone what the thinking is behind yes now I'll just say that I was the kind of idiot who wore sunglasses When it's raining inside you're calling us an idiot I'm only joking we're just like a high tide. I know you do aesthetic process. It's not for the sun. It's exactly how it look How it looks I was I would like what I went to boarding school and I would walk around boarding school with my sunglasses Yeah, and the teachers be like you're not allowed to wear sunglasses You're like, oh, no, I'd be like don't you know who I am. I got really sensitive eyes. So I'm going to I didn't have a sense of eyes Um, so I was like I had all my proudest sunglasses. It was like my favorite thing ever to wear And then I learned about how locking the light from entering your eyes First of all, it's going to make you feel much more depressed. You know, we all talk about SAD seasonally effective disorder If you're wearing sunglasses you're preventing the natural light from entering and signaling to your brain that is His daytime and that you know the cortisol should rise. You're going to just feel like less energy all these things It will also prevent you from being able to have melanin production your skin properly So you're not going to tan you're going to burn all these different Components came in and I did I was quite a big burner like my mum used to put a hundred SPF on me as a child one and told me I was allergic to the sun, which is bullshit. It's not true Um, the sun is life literally everyone lean
towards the sun in nature to grow and to thrive. And now I do too, but I have heard quite a few different takes. So the circadian biology world, they're extremists who are like, no, I'll never wear sunglasses. I'll always, never wear sunscreen, always be in the sun. And I think there's a level of intelligence you have to have about what does my body feel right now? If it's too strong to be in the sun and I feel like uncomfortable and all my eyes hurt when I'm burning, I'm obviously I'm not going to sit in the sun with no sun-different country with the sun- Exactly. Here in England it's pretty easy to be in the sun. But I would wear a hat, wear a cap, or maybe I'd put sunglasses on at midday if I needed to and I'd been exposed a lot to the sun. There is a company called RAR Optics who makes special sunglasses that block out the harmful rays and allow the, you know, beneficial rays to come through. So you're not getting that SAD experience in the day, so they're kind of blue lenses. So that is something, if I was going on holiday, I would get them. I haven't needed it here. I actually ordered a pair and they're not saying, oh no, I don't need them right now. So I deleted the order, but I will get them for holiday. But I still like wearing sunglasses, but I make a really conscious effort if I'm like out in nature and I'm running. Or even early in the morning. I'm like out in the morning, yeah. Exactly. That's fascinating. I'm on the school one and I'm like no one taught to me. Yeah, I know. I know. And also in human design, my human design is 5-1 Manifesta. And being a 5-line means people project things onto me a lot. And the guy who created human design said, if you're a 5-line, because he's also a 5-1 Manifesta, wear sunglasses or wear a hat or wear something even to go on or writing just to deflect people from projecting onto you. So I was just living with my sunglasses on. Yeah, it's a nice day. But I don't anymore, because I feel like I've got to just walk the walk and talking about it. But yeah, I'll get the raoptics one. Okay, enjoy them. And they're nice shapes as well. Yeah. And they're like good acetate kind of proper maintenance. Yeah, I got some really good ones from Dave Asprey's, but that was more for airports. Okay, nice. Yeah, cool. But I haven't tried the raoptics. Um, tongue tie release. Yeah, that was amazing. Is this more important than people really nice? So I actually didn't know about it from a facial perspective. I knew about it from having it cut or lasered as a baby. And then I had some friends who had it done as adults years ago who went into an America, went to a dentist and had it laser cut, which I have learned laser cut is not the way to go. If you are going to cut it for a baby, it's not just snipping it with scissors is the cleanest way, rather than laser. We had my second child's tongue tie cut. It was, he was three weeks old and it was the start of lockdown. And I didn't know if I could get him seen and I just didn't want to jeopardize the breastfeeding relationship and it was hurting so much and he was clicking and milk was coming out the side. And so we had a home birth midwife come who does it as a specialty. And it was fine. It was just a quick snip and then he nursed. We didn't even do any exercises afterwards, which a lot of people say. But we did go see our cranial sacral osteopath regularly every week, which I always do with my babies anyway. And my children. And the third breastfeeding is the best thing isn't after because they're sleeping their tongues. Yes, exactly. My youngest had to do the same. Yes, okay. So I knew about it from that perspective. And I knew about it from a few friends who said, okay, we're going to do this from a myofunctional perspective to open up the jaw to allow everything to be as it should. And then I went to a dinner pot with Camilla at Camilla's house, a dinner party where Gary Lenneman from human garage was there. And I was not expecting this. I had my baby rose with me as well. And after dinner, like before dessert, he's like, who wants to have a tongue tie release? And it's like a natural facelift. I was like, okay. And so I had it done. And he basically holds your tongue in a tea towel while his wife rocks your body from side to side. And it was very painful. Like I was streaming tears, but it's doable. I mean, it is doable and it's quick. And he's moving you. He was standing. He said, he said your tongue will bleed. It will rip. And-- But it took two seconds. Does everyone need one? Because I'm like, I even just then was like me. And I was like, I don't think I have any-- How'd you know if you needed it? I didn't think I had. My tongue could go so long and so far out. That's what I'm like my-- Yeah. No, actually, when I still talk to Serpie, he said I have a little bit of tongue tie. Right. I think a lot of people do. And even if it's a small release, I will say so I had it done. And I felt euphoria. Like I've never felt. And I've taken all the drugs I've gotten there. I felt like high off of life. I felt this like outpouring of love from my heart. And he did say the fash of the tongue is connected directly to the heart. So it was powerful. And I just drove home in the pouring rain with rose and the back sleeping on the phone to my mum being like, I just feel so in love with life. And so amazing. My mum was like, what? It's interesting because I've seen a lot of his videos, human garrots. And he does a lot of-- and people like Solbiz. I thought you were releasing. Why can I cry or you laugh? And it's like that. Yeah, my algorithm is filled with his videos at the moment. Did you see the new one? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like that was the one that kind of-- Yeah, yeah. But it is. It's just amazing. Yeah. No, it was amazing. But I will say, having had that done, I realized how this is a whole lifetime of patterning. My tongue has been used to being in a certain way. And then you suddenly are releasing it. And then your whole body is just going a bit haywire after. And after I went to see my incredible cranial sacrolystopath and forest row, who he's a multi-dimensional healer. He's incredible. And I asked him to do some internal work in my mouth. And he was like, wow, the bones have shifted. Everything has moved. And so he did two sessions of work and put me back into alignment and harmony. And I would say if anyone is getting it done because they didn't mention that during the dinner party to follow up and to have some proper body work done, ideally cranial sacral. Because that really made me feel OK. This was working. Yeah. Amazing. OK, next one is the sonic slider, which we've already-- I don't know which episode, but Kaua then did not get one because she was obsessed in it. I wanted to get one. So can you tell everyone what the sonic slider is? And why you use it? Yes. So it is from a lady called Eileen McCusack. And she has a shop called Biofield Tuning. And she trains people how to do this Biofield Tuning, which we have a Biofield around us, which is an energetic field. And she actually has their tuning forks. And she uses them in people's biofields without touching their bodies. But she created-- and it was already-- it already existed-- but a weighted tuning fork. So it has two weights on the end of it. So you don't get on your hand or on your knee or on a-- you can get a puck to do it on as well. And on the end, you can have different accessories attached, which drive the vibration, the sound vibration, into your body. So your not hearing sound is actually going into your body. And it's at the frequency of the human resonance, which is the Earth's harmonic field. So you're literally becoming back into harmony with the Earth. So I mean, I have it in my bag. I was using it on my way here on the train. My kids use it. They fall over. We don't get. Slide it on the boo-boo. And it completely goes away instantly. And I'm really not making that up. No matter what the problem is, it's a solution. Like it's my toolkit for everything. I use them. Yeah. Do you know that's so interesting? You said that because I won my first experiences with them was actually when I was in Costa Rica. And I had a treatment where it was psychedelic, even though I hadn't taken anything. And I lay on a bed. It was a penthamat, but then it also had vibrations. And I had these goggles on that were flashing lights in my eyes and music going into my ears. And she used the tuning forks. And what was interesting, what you said about the energy, was that I could feel, even though my hands were rested on my body, I could physically-- I could feel the energy between my hand and my body felt huge. And it was like I could feel almost like my auric field was alive. It was like I could feel it for the first time physically, even though it's almost-- it's obviously always there. But you're not aware of it. And as she was using tuning forks and acupuncture, but tuning forks were in my feet at the same time. So it was amazing. How interesting. So that's crazy that you-- Yeah, and it's a tool that you can just have at home. I was full on hallucinating. My husband said he time-traveled during this treatment. Yeah. The M.T. was activated. It was mad. So they're very cool. Yeah. Cool. I can't get wait to get mine. And get it with the accessory. I have the contour accessory, because then you can also use it on your face. So wrinkle prevention or smoothing out melting wrinkles. I don't use anything apart from-- I have a methylene bluser in which I love with talo from Schwolly. and then I have like red light and I do face.
facial, fascia, massage. And I got this primarily because I was like, you know, it's a lot of work doing the massage all the time. This, you just don't get it and it drives the vibration into your skin for you. And it's like, you're not having to work. Your fingers like a lot less work. Yeah. And I just sit there at the farm, you know, having my cappuccino with my friend and still on the side. I brought it you could get away with that floor hatch. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, 100%. But also what's interesting is it feels almost like I feel like it's when you're chanting, you know, when you're kind of doing that vibration. Yeah. Yeah. That you can feel in your brain. And I'm like, it makes sense. You with Kundalini, it's like that activation of your brain. It's got that same frequency I found. Absolutely. I love it. Yeah. What's interesting even when you did it on me is that I could hear it, even though it was making no sound. Yeah. It's like that feeling of like, I'm hearing something that isn't actually. Yeah. We can hear the vibration is vibrating like it's going to. But no one else can hear it, you know, in the same way. So yeah, it's just that. But yeah, those micro current devices are obviously doing all the rage. But I'm like, this is literally like, you're also what I'm feeling a bit unsure of with that is the EMS. 100%. You know, I mean, it's like giving electromagnetic frequencies, isn't it rather than natural? But it feels like it's a natural. Yeah. This is like literally just the natural version of that. The frequency of the earth with no electricity. Like, I'm down with that. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing. Okay. So living low-tox, what changes have made the biggest difference to? I feel like it's a real process, isn't it? Yeah. I decided during pre my first pregnancy, thanks to Dr. Monks' influence, to start changing out all the cleaning products, you know, getting rid of the cleaning products and the fragrance and the diptych candles that I had everywhere that I loved in the perfume. Because when you learn about it, and I went a bit extreme, like, I can go a bit extreme with things and I became a bit addicted to purity and anyone wearing perfume around me, I can't, you know, I got a bit over the top with it. And now I've come to like a happy middle ground where I'm not afraid of getting unwell from being around other people. I can live in the world, which is a really important place to be, I think, with all of these things. But we just made swaps out, you know, non-organic textiles, clothing, swaps, no polyester and stuff like that for the kids. Changing out all the plastic tap away to glass. Really simple things, getting rid of the non-stick pans and having stainless steel and cast iron, vinegar and baking soda to clean the house. No floor, I mean, I haven't had floor-rode in my toothpaste for, you know, 15 years. But you just don't need any of that stuff. And when you see what it's doing to you from the inside out, if you look just even a little bit into it, you're like, oh no, god no, I don't want that. Yeah. So it's just a way of living and being embodied in it because for me, I mean, it goes back to birth and you birth how you live. So how am I living? Like so much of my, I mean, I'm about to give birth, not about, but in 10 months or less, eight months, I'm going to give birth for the fourth time. And birth is really about embodiment. And if I'm not embodied in my everyday life with what I'm saying I'm going to do and I'm not walking the walk, it shows up in birth. And that's just something for me that I always come back to. So like down to the minutia of my life, like am I embodied in what I'm doing? And I think I am, yeah. So you also wrote a complete guide on fascia. Yeah. And I feel like it's kind of having a moment, I feel like a lot of people are talking about it. But can you break down kind of more about it? Yeah. So fascia is such a buzzword right now. Yeah. And my guide is doing so well. Like everyone is, you know, getting it, which is, which is wonderful. But fascia is this liquid gel, like crystalline matrix that wraps around your whole body over your organs, your bones, in it's under your skin. And it, look, I don't know if you've seen any of the videos on Instagram that show like this web or moving. And so when something happens, let's say you are cut into like you have surgery or, you know, a C section or, you know, without surgery or an injury, then the fascia gets stuck and stagnant in that area. And because it's all interconnected, it affects the rest of your body. So when I was injured at 16, it's like exactly. It affects the whole. Exactly. So when I was injured at 16, in my face, it actually affected my toes. My toes went numb. And yes. And so I was working with a cranial sacral osteopath to bring the sensation back. Like I'd go skiing and I wouldn't be able to feel my toes and the boots. And it was like it was quite scary being, you know, in a horrible feeling. But it was, it's because of the fascia, this interconnectivity that we have. So the best way to, to break down, like the guide goes into step by step, what fascia is, you know, from all the research that I've done, 10th segrity, the body's ability to, to move in like this spiral motion. And I got interested in fascia through a lady in forest row who teaches hyperpressives. So it's a, it's a way of breathing after you've given birth with pelvic floor issues, perhaps or anything where you breathe diaphragm tactically. So we should not be breathing into our chest or our stomach. We should be breathing into our ribs. Yeah. I'm not doing that now. So if you imagine the way her name is Susanna White and she's movement for pelvic health, if you imagine your ribs are like angel wings. So when you breathe in, you're opening your angel wings up and closing them and you're breathing through your nose, what that's doing is actually connecting the fascia in your whole body and bringing it all together in integrity and interconnectivity. So by doing these special, specialised breathing techniques, as well as putting your body in certain positions, you are lifting your pelvic floor up. Like we shouldn't be doing kegels and all these things that we're told that is putting pressure on your pelvic floor and pushing it down. So when you're having babies, you obviously want to know this information. So it's about kind of bringing everything up. And so I learned about it initially through her and then in typical, you know, five one nature went on this deep dive and learned as much as I could. And my mother is actually specialised in fascia as a yoga teacher. So I've learned to look through her. Wow. Yeah. So it's very much something we talk about all the time. And there are really simple things you can do like humming, humming with your mouth closed is actually activating the fascia in your body and bringing it into harmony. Your feet, the souls of your feet are, you know, the hub of fascia in your whole body. So like rolling over a golf ball or a tennis ball just while you're sitting here is going to activate and suit the fascia in your body using the sonic slider. Well, I was just about so he said humming. I was like that surely having a similar effect to the side. It's that vibration isn't it? Yeah. I mean, I use the sonic slider all over my body for the fascia. And, you know, I don't know if this is TMI but my husband when he was eight, he was circumcised because his parents, you know, his his mother remarried. His mother remarried a Jewish man and like culturally Jewish, not even religiously and they decided to, you know, circumcise him like under general aesthetic. And so that is a trauma that, you know, physically he's lived with the scars of that and it removes sensation from around the scars around the head. So I've been using the sonic slider on the scars in order to bring back sensation. And I've heard really good things were at the beginning of our journey with it. But that's fascia. So that's where it's been cut and skin has been removed. And it's been sewed back together. Skin that shouldn't have been connected has now been connected. So fascia can be healed but it's basically like a dead area where there are scars. And the sonic slider is probably the easiest way to bring it back to life. And so you recommend using the sonic slider on scars. Yeah, like if you had a C-section scar on your scar. Yeah. Yeah. And get it with the contour accessory because then you can glide it over. It's a large surface area rather than being the long thing. Interesting. Are there any signs that someone's fascia is unhealthy or restricted? Well, you would feel it maybe in other parts of your body. So if you're feeling, if you have chronic pain, if you're having, you know, like for me, the numbness in my toes, yes, an indicator of the trauma that had happened to my face. Perhaps someone's posture, we think posture is about your muscles. It's actually about your fascia. It's like it's been molded from being in the same position over and over again. And so in order to counterbalance that, you have to keep putting yourself in a different position. And eventually your fascia will get the memo and kind of repatten. So there are lots of ways. I mean, it's a huge subject. And I'm just a regional guide, basically. Well, if you want to, yeah, Scott, I've taken, you know, all the information that I found and put it together in a kind of not for dummies, but in a way that can really be understood because it can get a bit technical.
If people are learning about it for the first time, that's what you want, isn't it? - Yeah. - That way, that size kind of information. So just one more thing to do with fascists. - What are your thoughts about emotions, kind of getting caught or trapped in fascists? - Absolutely. - Because I'm seeing a lot of that. - Well, a good example would be what we just spoke about with the tongue tie release and all the human garage work, when people, when they release the buckle ties or the tongue ties and people start crying and sobbing or laughing, it's because emotion has been trapped there. And I felt it with my tongue tie release, like this amazing opening up and it's like all the emotions just flood back. And I will say, when I've had cranial sacral work with my amazing man, he has done work on me and it's working with the fascia, the cranial rhythm and the fascia. I've had memories flood back when he's touched a certain area and it's made me cry and it's brought me back to that place to refill it and then release it. So I do truly believe that emotion is stored and memory is stored in fascia. - Okay. - Yeah, when I did my yoga teacher training, I had somebody work done and I've always had a problem with my hips and he released something in my hip and I just burst into tears. I mean, I was only 20 or something. So I didn't even really understand at the time, but now as an adult on reflection, it makes so much sense that I was storing. - Yeah. - Mad. You are now pregnant with your fourth child. Can you tell us a little bit more about how you're navigating your journey and your previous pregnancy? - Yes. Well, my first pregnancy, I hired an independent midwife. I knew I was gonna have a home birth and that was really important to me to have as minimal intervention or risk of intervention as possible in order to really honor the hormonal blueprint of birth. All the different hormones that arise and like an animal giving birth like a cat will go into a dark, covered and just give birth in a box away from everyone. If it has lights and people watching, it's gonna actually cause issues with the birth and it's not going to be able to just let go and give birth. So I hired a woman who had a lot of experience and she told me that she was a proponent for understabbed birth and that was really the reason why I chose her. And then when it came to the actual birth, I, so through the pregnancy, I had, in my first, I had two scans, I had one when I was 12 weeks pregnant because I wanted to know whether I was having galoroboi and I had the non-invasive pregnancy test, the harmony test done. And I did not know at that point anything about ultrasound so I had that scan done. And it actually felt really uncomfortable. It was a quick one. They just had to see whether it was twins or not before they could go ahead to tell me, you know, with the blood test. But I genuinely did not feel good in my body from a visceral experience having that scan. And then I had another one at 20 weeks and I actually cut it short because it didn't feel right. I said, I'm good. And I said, I will not get another scan after this point just from my body telling me this is not right. Something doesn't feel right. But apart from that, I didn't have any further testing done. I didn't have to the blood, the urine tests or the proteins or the gestational diabetes. And she was supportive of that. I just said, I feel good. My baby is me and I feel good. So I'd like to just kind of continue as I am. And then I went into labor at 41 weeks and five days and I called her and my water's had opened and she came over and actually for a first birth, it was very quick. It was six hours from start to finish. I was laboring the pool and having psychedelic experience and it was very shockingly intense and painful at times. But I was doing it. And then I got out of the pool, looked at her with this wild-eyed look. And I was like, I don't think I can do this, which is classic transition, which every woman will know. And instead of saying, you're doing it, she went into a fear response and just said, you don't have to suffer. We can take you to hospital. You can get an epidural. I can check her for a long U.R. even though I hadn't wanted any vaginal checks. And so she checked my cervix, she's like, you're 10 centimeters, you can push. And at that moment that I had said to her, what do I do? And I had actually just left my body and handed over my authority to her. And she told me how to push. I was like I was in hospital. And I pushed and he came out in 20 minutes, which I was lucky and I didn't tear. And he was 11 pounds, five kilos. So I was really lucky because it could have gone differently. But I was not embodied, I was checked out. And I was kind of in shock. She took him out and she said, take your baby. And I was just left my body. I took him, I was like, oh, what just happened? But I romanticized that experience. And I was like, oh, I got the home bath, that I always wanted. And I didn't tear and he was so big. And only six hours. And I had this little rhetoric that, oh, it was wonderful. And then I did a lot of deep diving and realized, why am I accepting crumbs? This is meant to be the most transformative, transcendent experience of a woman's life. It could have gone so differently. And I'm not blaming her and I'm not a victim in this. And I had to go through that experience. But I said, OK, I'm going to be doing it very differently, going forward. And I got pregnant with my second child. When my first child was 18 months and I said this time, I'm doing it by myself. I'm doing my own prenatal care. I'm taking full responsibility for my baby and my body. I will know if something is up. And if I need to seek further support, I will. But I felt great and I nourished myself. I rested. I looked after myself in all the ways. And I had bodywork, cranial work, throughout which felt amazing. And then I had the most incredible hour and a half birth in the water for my son, River. And it just was like the indescribable, the difference between the first experience and that experience. I was like, wow, there was no one for me to look to an outsource my autonomy and my sovereignty. I was just looking to myself, looking within, listening to the whispers and the screams that my body was giving me, which otherwise I could have just, oh, what do I do to someone else? And from that point forward, it was like, well, I would never do it differently. This is the way for me. And I know it's not the way for most people. But I know quite a lot of people who have seen the light with this and see, actually, this feels like the safest best route for me. So then my next baby was a wild birth story where I went to over 43 weeks with her and my waters opened at 41 weeks. And they fully, like, I soaked through two towels. And I was expecting fully to go into labor that night, because that's what had happened with my last two babies. And instead, nothing happened for two weeks, not one twinge. I was waiting and my husband took paternity leave two weeks early and just looking at my watch, like, when is this going to happen? I'm just going to be pregnant forever. There's no baby in there. And then in 30 minutes, she came from the start of labor at 43 weeks and one day. And it was-- she was surprised breach. She came out bum first. And I didn't even know that until after. My husband said, oh, it was her bum first, because he walked into the room at that moment. And I didn't push. She just shot out of me. And there was no, like, pathologizing or fear or kind of insight that she might be breach or this or that. I just let my body do what it needed to do. And she was 10 pounds and no tearing again. I'm not bragging. I'm just saying what the body is capable of. And I need to trust it, I guess. Yes, when there isn't the seed of fear planted from people in the system. Not even external. Is that true? I ask you, actually, because even were you nervous within those two weeks? I went through a process for sure, where I actually blocked every single contact on my phone, because I didn't want any, even people that wouldn't contact me. I just needed to know that I was unreachable, apart from the people that I wanted to call. My husband and my mom and my friend who would help me with the kids. Because any tiny little seed of doubt of, you know, your baby could die, this could happen. I had to tune into my baby every day and feel into how my baby was doing. I felt the baby moving. I felt well, they say, you know, there's risk of infection. That's what I was going to say, yeah. But what they don't say is that you're going into hospital once your waters have opened and they're putting their hands inside you to check. And so, of course, there's risk of infection because you're putting your hands, someone else is putting their hand inside you. But if I have no one putting their hands inside me and I'm just staying at home and resting and looking after myself, there was no problem. That's an interesting point. And I will say one of the coolest parts of the whole birth, which I didn't mention, is that during, so during that two weeks, I drank a liter, two full liters of table-hurst by a dynamic raw Jersey Melka Day and one whole liter of raw coconut water. And I ate brisket and all this collagenous foods and to
Vitamin C liposomal because the amniotic sac is made of skin cells, so they can regenerate. And during the birth, I mean, I hadn't even thought about it, but during the birth right before she shot out, my amniotic sac exploded and fluid went everywhere. So during that two weeks, the sac had re-sealed and replenished. And no one tells you that that's even a possibility. Yeah, but it is possible. I mean, I've lived through it. So you didn't have, after your first pregnancy, you then decided not to have any. -Scan. -Ultra sounds. Yeah, why is that? I did a lot of research and I was talking with a lot of women who had also done a lot of research for themselves. And I will, first of all, say I'm not a scientist, I'm not an expert in this, but I am someone who's gone very deep and dug out all of the buried studies, which are, if you just do a Google search, you can't find it. Everyone tells you, "Ultra sounds is safe and effective." Well, there was a man called Jim West who did 50 human studies in China, because in China, there are a lot of abortions and elective abortions. And so what they did with consent, which shows causation, not correlation, because a lot of people will say, "Oh, but anything that shows damage to cells after ultrasound is a correlation thing, not a causation thing." So he did these studies, which proves causation, where they ultrasounded a baby right before it was going to be aborted, and then did the studies on the cells of the fetus after. And this is not using long exposure or higher inputs, outputs of ultrasound, then you would get just going through a normal scan. Every single fetus cells had cell necrosis, DNA damage, mitochondrial degeneration, organ damage. It was really, really plain sight what was happening. And so these studies have all been buried and we're told that ultrasound is just sound waves when it is actually listed on the FDA as non-ionizing radiation, which basically is everything under X-rays. So X-rays is ionizing radiation and then everything else. Microwaves and phones, ultrasound, they are all non-ionizing radiation, just different forms of lower output. So it's crazy to think that it wouldn't have an impact on this baby's mitochondria that is multiplying so much. There's nothing else that multiplies that fast in terms of mitochondria than a fetus in the first trimester. So it made sense to me and then I went down many rabbit holes and I've actually created a dossier on ultrasound where you can find all of the studies put together with summaries and links to all of the studies. So you can do your own research and all try to share that. Make your own choices. And I really say this with no judgment or dogma about what people should or shouldn't do because at the end of the day you need to assess your own risks and see what feels right for you. But I just I think women deserve to have the full picture and know all of the information before they make a choice that can only be informed if you have both sides of the coin. This is exactly what we said previously about vaccines as well. Right. You know when we've had stick for sharing other sides it's like we just want you to have the knowledge that there are yeah. And a lot of people have a kind of feeling of something they're not sure about something but they don't know what alternatives there are. So it's just easy to know what the options are. Yeah. You can then make your own informed choice can't you? Absolutely. Yeah. So what kind of foods do you and your family and you've mentioned farm and yeah what are your staple meals? Unprocessed food, whole foods, biogenomic. I mean we're so lucky to live just five minutes down the road from Plohatch and yeah that's amazing. I mean I'm literally there twice twice a day. I'm like wow. Everyone like Rose is growing up. I've only seen you there and not even realized over the years. Yeah. It's I'm there all the time and then there's Nick's amazing coffee bar. Yeah. It just brings it to life and everyone has that lovely monmouth coffees with raw milk and it's just it's really nice. So we drink a lot of raw milk and we eat you know the best quality meat that you can get. We eat a lot of beef. We're not a huge vegetable family. Just my husband was forced fed vegetables as a baby and so it has an aversion to most vegetables. I just never have loved them. I love a salad and the odd vegetable but you know my kids don't really like them. I'm not pushing it on them. They get high quality animal products and they love a salad too randomly. But yeah we're just eating kind of whole foods. We have the odd treat and different things. We're not we're not addicted to purity in the way that I used to be. I was keto for five years before Rose's pregnancy and actually it caused a lot of dysfunction for me. I became actually very afraid of carbs because I thought I would just balloon if I ate them and which my body did because it was used to not having them and it was just that water water way response but having a daughter for the first time. I was like I'm not going to pass this down to her. I spent my whole life you know managing my way and needing to be thin and needing to be small and I'm not passing this down to her. So now I just I went on something called the fuck it diet where you just let yourself eat whatever you want whenever you want as a as a means of healing dysfunctional eating patterns. And it's been really amazing because now I'm not afraid of eating anything. The pull and the excitement of eating certain things is gone because I know I can have whatever I want there isn't that. Rose's nutrition exactly. And it's like an inside out experience where now I crave good quality better food that feels good for my body rather than something that I wouldn't have let myself have before. But because you've restricted suddenly it's like the shiny kryptonite and you have to try it like and have a snickers bar after not having anything for so long. But I've been sure that the fuck it diet and you do a thing on that. Yeah, yeah, I will. I will. But it's been incredibly healing and yeah, just we're all perfect as we are and we get told that we're not as children and teenagers by society like we have to look a certain way. And I don't want my kids starting like babies when they're born with all their fat rolls and their child were like, oh, you're so beautiful. Perfect. And then when does that change? When does that stop being beautiful and perfect? Yeah. And obviously to be healthy and to feel good is the key. But babies are healthy and feel good with their child, you know? So I just I'm I'm repatting like a lifetime of dysfunction around food and body image and it feels really really big and important. Yeah, I'm just waiting. So when you look at people in general, when they're softer and you don't look that kind of skeletal skates like it's healthy, it's vibrancy isn't it? It's nourishment. Life was actually exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, really. And being pregnant, it's like there's no sucking in the tummy like, you know, you just let it all hang out in a way which you might not feel as comfortable doing when you're not pregnant. So it's a great practice of that. Like I'm just going to just nourish just just be nourished and happy and yeah, healthy. It was well to be pregnant four times. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You have to have yourself. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because the thing is obviously with each pregnancy, they're taking so much from you. So you really have to kind of yes, I wish I'd known so much more what I know now than why you back then about how important it is. Well, the one thing that I've taken over the past 10 years is Quintan isotonic marine plasma, which is literally cellular nutrition. It's from the marine plankton blooms in the ocean. And it is the same constituency, the minerals in water, see water diluted as your blood plasma. So it is just so incredible. And people have said to me, like, what are you taking like when they've done body work on me? Because you're so good. And even when I wasn't eating while years ago, I would take that and they said, well, don't change what you're doing. And I wouldn't take any prenatal vitamins, nothing else, just that. And so my kids have it. I have it every day. I add it to my water to restructure and re-mineralize the water. I love that. And then I take ape nutrition organ pills. I take the female optimized female ones with the female reproductive organs of the cow and kidney and liver. And I take Celtic oysters as well. Okay. Yeah, we love it. Yeah, I think the best. Yeah, so good. And they're, oh, thanks to you, the beef protein powder. Oh, it's so good. Yeah, it's so good. It's like with the raw milk. It's just so good. My my middle child loves it. Chocolate milkshakes. Yeah. Your children have never been to a dentist. Can you tell us more about your approach and reasoning behind that? Yes. And I haven't been to a dentist in 12 years or something like that. Their teeth are great. Why would I take them to a dentist? There's literally no reason to they're clean. There's no tartar. There's no calculus plaque. It's that there just is no need to. When my when my first was I think one year old, I did take him to a biological dentist in London because I thought that's what you're meant to do. And the dentist just looked at
his teeth and said they're great. There's, you know, nothing to do. - That's incredible. - And so I left. I was like, well, that was a waste of money. - Yeah, I really like, okay, we're good. And my middle child got a filling, or not a filling, he got a hole. - Yeah. - What's it called again? - The cavity. - Yeah, you can tell, like, really, I'm not currently the dentist. So he got a cavity on his middle tooth here. - Yeah. - And he had the most perfect, beautiful smile. Everyone would say, oh my God, his teeth are so amazing. And at the time, I was practicing a more kind of radical, unschooling way of letting him eat what he wanted, letting him be guided. He was having sugar, he was having, you know, whatever he wanted within reason, in like a more healthy version of that. And when I became strict in cytokine, we're not gonna do sugar anymore. He got the cavity. After having no sugar, eating so clean, proper, like, nutrient-dense food. And from a German new medicine perspective, which is my framework for how I treat my whole family's health and mine, it is a bite conflict getting a cavity. So when something is taken away that you can't bite down on, is when the cavity would come. So it makes sense, 'cause I know a lot of people who eat really well, they brush their teeth, they floss, they do all the things, and yet they get cavities. And my eyes have had them. And then, but I started remineralizing, I can't think she takes the tissue cells, the remineralizing tissue cells, and it's really helped. But that's really interesting, because when they were younger, I was quite restricted. Right. So it could be restriction food, or it could be not getting something you wanted, or having a sibling that's constantly taking your toy away, or something like that. There are lots of ways that it can be expressed. And different teeth have different reasons. So the further back ones are not being able to chew on something, like, there are, it's really interesting. And I've also created a guide on dentistry, on reclaiming your teeth, where I go in detail about every tooth, the reason why you'd get a cavity in that tooth, and how to remineralize, and basically all the protocols that we've done, 'cause I also like you went down that route, and the bliss energetics products are just the best for remineralizing. It's an America, yeah, they have, it's all animal-based as well, and they have a tooth-puddy that you put into the cavity, and it remineralizes it overnight. Oh, wow. So the whole grew so much smaller from using that, and from doing the fermented cod liver oil with butter, oil from green pastures. And there are so many things that you always do. There's all this information and we're in the guide. In the guide, there's a lot of stuff. Yeah, everything's listed. Okay, yeah. And then take a look at that. So yeah, no, I'm really, we don't go to doctors either, and I'm not anti-doctor, and I have full respect for them, but we just don't need it. Like there are ways to maintain our health without going, and it's just this more embodied way of living a sovereign life that works for us. Yeah, you mess with me, but how do you feel? You'll be gone home, yeah. Yeah, big on homeyopathy, particularly Nariani blends, which was an Indian doctor, Dr. Nariani, who in India was treating all these villages of very poor people who had all sorts of different illnesses and disease, and she made blends. So because homeyopathy is pretty hit or mess, you have to ask loads of questions. It's very precise. You can get it wrong, the potency varies. And so she made generalized remedies, which for anyone new to homeyopathy, and I'm not new to it, but I'm just, I love it. I have my kit with, I mean, there's even one for pain, which has homeopathic morphine in it. So you get a headache, which is this brand. This is Nariani, so you can get it from Helios or Ainsworth's pharmacy. Yeah, yeah, no, it's a game changer. So I have two kits that I have in my home, and I travel with, and although my middle child did eat them like sweets, a lot of them. So I have to replenish. My youngest ate a whole pot of caramel, and we didn't realize until after, and the whole thing was empty, and I was like, where the hell are the good things in the end? All of them. Luckily, it's fine. Yeah, it's just basically like having sugar pulse. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, so there's no side effects, which is amazing. No, he ate like probably five different big pots. Like she just went for it, and I was like, "Rever, what are you saying?" I'm sorry, they just tasted so good. (laughs) Yeah. Listen on advent calendar. Exactly, you're a lot of kids do, don't they? Yeah. So should we do? Some quick vibe, yeah, 'cause we're running out of time, aren't we? Yeah. What's something people think is extreme but has changed your health completely? Quick vibe. Everything. Yeah. Okay. Something that we haven't listed, obviously. Oh, it can be something even that you have. Yeah, it could just be a what, yeah. Something you. Okay, Germany medicine. Yeah. I'd love to have a whole other conversation about this in every one day when you medicine. You around to complete extreme. Most people would think it's so extreme but it's just completely changed my whole paradigm of living and seeing the world and it's incredible. Yeah. I had fibromyalgia, like really, really badly for a year when I was living in LA. I was crippled by it where I was in my neck, my shoulders, my arms, and I just, I couldn't lie down, I couldn't relax, I tried all the alternatives. I did, you know, I was doing acupuncture and vitamin IVs every day. I even did the mainstream and that didn't work. And the only thing that has worked to switch it off for me and I haven't had a flare up in five years was Germany medicine. One session on Zoom with a Germany medicine practitioner who got to the root of what it was from what the conflict was 'cause it's the level of the psyche, the brain, and then the corresponding organ and it's a self-divaluation conflict. So, and it was stuck in a hanging healing. So, you know, this sounds confusing 'cause I haven't actually explained what Germany medicine is from scratch, but it changed my life. And so now my kids get sick and that's why we don't go to doctors. Anything, any symptom comes up and I'm like, okay, well, what happened today at school and we talk about it and we're able to just find an off switch, yeah. - Okay, I feel like we're gonna have to deep dive into Germany medicine another time. - Yeah, if someone wants to find a practitioner, you know, here's this and thinks that's exactly what I need. What should people look out for or are there any? - I would say there's a lot of directory. - Yeah. - Yes, be wary because there are a lot of people on Instagram and online who are claiming to be German new medicine consultants and it's a very, very precise scientific procedure in order to become a consulting. You have to be able to read CATSGADDENS and it's really, really precise. So, you don't wanna find someone, I'm not gonna name names, but you don't wanna find someone who claims to be and is not, I would go through only Ilsa Dora Lakers' directory and it's the GNM Institute. And I know of one in the UK and they're all over the world, but they do online the Zoom, so you can find this online. - Okay. - I know someone in Australia that I've done sessions with. - Okay. - But yeah, that's what I thought I just, it can be a bit of a world west out there. So I don't want someone googling or looking on TikTok or something. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - The GNM is just huge. - And this is a free tip. Join the German New Medicine UK group on Facebook, which is a wealth of all knowledge and you can actually ask questions there, which Ilsa Dora and those who have been trained will answer for free. - Wow. - So it's amazing, you can also just search and search by what your symptoms are. But Ilsa Dora's website, GNM Online Salmonars, has free introduction to GNM videos, so you can learn about it in depth there. - Okay. - So you go any further? - Yeah, I feel like I'd like to learn a bit more about it. - What's a wellness trend that you think is overrated? - Oh God. I think. Sorry guys, my brain, my brain is like. - We can skip the first part of you on. - I mean, can we do slow fire? - Yeah, I'm a set of things. - I'm a set of things. - I'll pretend I'm a pretend that I'm doing it. - Yeah. - I'm a pregnancy, not a pregnancy, but a wellness trend that's overrated would be. I mean, I think most of them to be honest. But I think you should say that. - Yeah, yeah. Most of them, I've gone and I've tried everything. And eventually I get bored and I move on. But yeah, just go back to the base there. - Exactly. - Yeah. - Keep it simple. One thing you think, "Mod and motherhood needs more of." - Embodiment, which also means coming into your body, not being in your head and disconnected and kind of in the everyday rat race, hamster wheel, just coming back into your body, teaching your children what it is to be embodied, to be relaxed, to be nourished, to rest, all those things. So I was very lucky to grow up with a mother who knows how to rest and be relaxed. And at 73 or four now, she is like, it shows she's such a relaxed, beautiful woman. And that is my role model. So yeah. - I need to be more. - Yeah. (laughing) A book that has changed your life. So many books have changed my life. I literally have,
maybe a hundred of them. So let me pick one with birth. There was a book called Sacred Bairthing that I loved by Sonny Carl and also conceiving souls of magnificence, which was a beautiful, like, conscious conception book. Yeah, I'll leave it with that. I mean, I literally, I can, I can provide a whole book list if you want to. You should as well. Yeah, yeah. What's the best thing you've bought recently? The best thing that I have, well, my son Xlider for sure. I was thinking of something interesting. But I am, I am really obsessed with my, my new skin care regime, which is this shwolly. Have you had a shwolly heart? It's an American. It's an American. And a motherly blue. Like, I don't feel good about taking methylene blue and tanally, but on the skin for the mitochondria, it's incredible. Is it blue when you put it on? Because it's serums. Yeah, no, this doesn't stay in it. It's in a way that doesn't stain. It is so good that you do the serum fast, and then you put the balm on after which also has methylene blue. And my skin just feels amazing. It's good to do anything. I mean, I don't know if it does, because it's just new that I've been doing it. It's like theency glow. Yeah, I know. I know which one is it. Exactly. But I do feel, you know, when you just feel good using it, like you feel like it's very productive. You enjoy using it as well. Whereas other things I've used that, you know, they're good, but you're like, okay, I could, I don't, I don't, I can live without this. Yeah. I love how you shared actually a while ago. It's a bit like saying when you feel good using something, I've read that you said, because you, um, did something to a Feng Shui. Yes, yeah, used to be a Feng Shui consultant. So when you go into your home, see how something makes you feel. Yeah. And I think that's a really nice way. Yeah. Like even just an area of a room, like do you feel good being in that area? And oftentimes I don't. And I'm like something needs to change. And I change it. And I do that with products as well. That's how it feels right. Yeah. No, I'm very noble shit to having things in my home. If it doesn't feel good, if it doesn't work for me, absolutely, then I just get read. Yeah. Otherwise, you just accumulate so much stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing. Is that anything else you want to add to media? No, I don't think so. Oh, this is so lovely. Oh, thank you so much. Thank you. I love you. Yeah, we'll tag you in everything so people can find you and will link all your. Thank you. Guides. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Cool. Well, thank you. Thank you for inviting me. Thank you. So sweet of you. And it was so nice to have met you. Thank you. I know. I know. Thanks for listening to this week's episode. If you love this conversation, please take a moment to follow, rate and share the episode. Amelia Stewart Short joins the podcast to discuss her unconventional wellness and motherhood practices, which stem from a dramatic personal transformation.
