Question Everything: AI, Radical Transparency, and the Future of How We Think with Mohamed

Mohamed introduces AI/DOP (AI Debates on One's Publications) as a method to foster intellectual humility and transparency by having AI critique personal content and publishing the full debate transcript. This process challenges the notion that polished ideas represent final truths, encouraging continuous self-evaluation. He contrasts this with blind elitism and ignorant populism, promoting "enlightened populism"—an active, evidence-based approach to forming beliefs by listening to multiple experts. Mohamed advocates for citizen assemblies as a more equitable alternative to traditional representative democracy, especially in addressing urgent global issues like climate change, AI disruption, and inequality. He envisions a global system of pro-local assemblies where citizens directly vote on both local and planetary issues, ensuring access to basic rights such as healthcare, education, and clean water. Personal experiences with AI have led to significant revisions in his own theories, proving the value of rigorous self-questioning. His broader vision includes a world where individuals are trained to constantly challenge assumptions, leading to greater critical thinking, reduced tribalism, and systemic change. The key takeaway is that questioning one’s own ideas and those of others—using tools like AI—is essential for personal growth and a more democratic, rational society.

Welcome back to the growth flavor podcast where we have meaningful conversations about entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, personal growth and the lessons that help us become better thinkers and better versions of ourselves. Today's conversation begins with a question that sounds simple but is surprisingly difficult. What if we were willing to let our own ideas be challenged before asking other people to accept them. My guest today, Mohamed, has built a process around that idea. Through what it calls AI/DOP, he invites AI to challenge his own publications and then makes the unedited exchange visible rather than simply presenting the polished version of his thinking. And I found that very fascinating because we are leaving in a time when information is everywhere but the process behind how people arrive at their conclusions is often hidden. Mohamed's work also raises much bigger questions about how we think as a society from his concept of enlightening populism to citizen assemblies, democracy, global governance and the basic rights he believes people should have have more access to. So today we're not simply going to discuss what Mohamed believes but we're going to explore how he arrived at those beliefs, how he test them and what might change if more of us became willing to question both experts and popular opinion. Mohamed, you're welcome to the growth-stable podcast. I'm really glad to have you here. I'm glad to join you here tonight. Thank you for the wonderful introduction. You're welcome. So please let us begin with this AI/DOP. Is it ADOP? Tell us about it. AI/DOP or ADUP stands for AI Debates on Ones Publications. It's a concentration framework. Framework involves a content created, contenting, and AI tools to resize their own content. I'm publishing the entire analysis transcript of back and forth argumentation within 24 hours of the exchange. So basically you have an original piece of content whether an essay, a book, a video, or an audio file, you feed it into an AI tool, you ask the AI tool to criticize it, then you engage in back and forth argumentation and you publish the entire transcript within 24 hours of the exchange. It's based on radical transparency and intellectual humility. And it may happen that it puts everything into publishing, education, policy-making, humanities, and social sciences. Really great. That's amazing. What problem in particular did you see that you were trying to solve when you decided that that should be made? Well, as I told you, it's based on radical transparency and intellectual humility. Radical transparency in the sense that you're not only presenting a certain theory or a thesis to the public. You're presenting them with a certain idea of yours along with a set of arguments and counter-arguments that they can follow. So they can follow the reasoning behind your own conclusions. This is the radical transparency part. As for the intellectual humility part, you have to realize that you don't have them not really on the truth as a content creator. You can be wrong about something and you need to constantly invite your own ideas and thoughts. Yeah. Okay. Mohammed, you often talk about critical thinking, but questioning everything can also become, you know, exhausting and it can lead to cynicism. So how do you distinguish genuine investigation from simply refusing to believe anything? One, you need to constantly question everything. When we all strive for consistency, we may find the consistency we're seeking within the boundaries of uncertainty by embracing the fact that opinions, beliefs, attitudes are changeable over time. We need to realize that everything can change over time and change is the only constant in life. So instead of holding certain belief or assertive idea tight and close and identifying yourself as a person who believes in X or Y, you can identify yourself as a person who's open to various ideas and various thoughts and is constantly trying to update their own value system. This helps you grow as a person and as for avoiding the idea of not believing in anything, you will constantly find yourself believing in something. The more information you gain, you will constantly find yourself believing in something, whether on this side or on the other side of the equation, you will constantly hurt a certain belief. All right. Thank you very much, Mohammed. But do you think constantly questioning everything, even authority can seem quite exhausting over time or is there a way to do it that it doesn't get, it doesn't, you know, overwhelm us. It may not overwhelm us if we are trained to do it right, if you are trained, if you train your mind to constantly challenge everything and constantly question everything and be open to new ideas or new pieces of evidence whenever they arise, the process shall become easier for you. Yeah, we just basically need to train our mind. That is great. Thank you very much. So moving forward, let's talk about enlightened populism. Tell us what that concept, what that concept means to you. Enlightened populism is a behavior pattern of communication that involves listening to multiple experts trying to understand how to reach certain conclusions and investigating the information to the current truth. It contrasts with the two dominant behavior patterns of communication in today's world, blind elitism, which entails blindly following an expert or an elite on a certain issue and ignorant populism, which also involves the absence of investigation while relying on feelings of friends. So you have a certain topic or a certain issue, you'll find, you'll always find some people relying on feelings of friends without investigation. This is ignorant populism. You'll find others following a certain expert or a group of experts without reasoning or without investigation. And this is blind elitist. And you'll find a few people willing to exert the cognitive effort. Listen to multiple experts, try to understand how they reach certain conclusions and investigate the information to the current truth. And this is enlightened populism. Wow. That's nice. It's amazing. Interesting, I must say. Okay. Okay. Thank you, Mohamed. You also advocate for citizen assemblies as part of how society could make decisions. So what do you believe citizen assemblies could, you know, accomplish that existing democratic structures are probably they struggled to accomplish? One, for a long years, we have relied on representative democracies spread all over the world. And these representatives got bought by a few wheelers around the world and they control their decisions. Those politicians work for them instead of working for the rest of us. So this is the main issue. Then you have, and then you have three main problems for now and in the near future that we need to solve. These are climate change, potentially recurring pandemics and billionaires bid, billionaires bid, the president's war spread all over the planet, child labor and multiple places around the world, AI taking over our jobs and stuff like that. So you have these three main issues and we need to face them. Instead of relying on voting for someone to vote on our behalf, we can vote for ourselves or multiple issues. We can establish shelter, ask clean water and food, education, healthcare, freedom of expression, freedom of movement and stable speed internet connections as basic human rights. This way we can expand the middle class. We can all practice environment populism. We can dramatically reduce working hours to share the benefits of technology instead of allowing a few billionaires to benefit from them and all. And we can tax billionaires out of existence by something else cut up 999 million dollars per person. Yeah, I want to know your broad vision. Does it include [BLANK_AUDIO] does it include a single global government and probably a couple of our basic human rights that includes healthcare, education, and clean water and all that? Yes, as a single unified global government for everyone to be ruled by a pro-local citizen assemblies. Your own citizen assembly would be by far 10 minutes away from your home, you will be able to vote on issues related to your own local assembly and other issues related to the planet or the globe as a whole as we dominate other planets over time. We can't introduce shelter, access to clean water and food, education, healthcare, freedom of expression, freedom of movement, and stable speed internet connections as basic human rights. Okay. Thank you so much. If people genuinely became better at questioning both the ex-parts and also the popular opinion, why do you think the first major change would appear in? Well, we will tax enlightened populism, we'll be able to listen to multiple aspects, try to understand how they reach the conclusions and investigate the information that was going on the truth. So accordingly, I qualified enlightened populism as a behavioural pattern of communication back in 2020 and I believe that it's a halt here alternative to both ignorant populism and blind elitism. It may provide the essential infrastructure for human being to dismantle tribalism, colonialism, polarization, toxic competitiveness, oppression and systemic bigotry. Okay. All right. So what has engaging with AI taught you about human reasoning itself? Has the process ever forced you to, you know, reconsider an idea or where you previously confident about. Well, one time I had an AI-DUP session with ChurchPT about a theory of mine that I had on World Clive Balance and ChurchPT told me that my own theory wasn't universal, it couldn't be applied to everyone and I accepted the concerns valid and moved on to the next essay. The essays or the ideas that survived the AI scrutiny were all collected in another book titled Ideas that Survived the AI-DUP and published on my website Google Play and Amazon. So finally, if you could leave our listeners with one intellectual habit that could help them become less dependent on other people's conclusions, what would that be? Promoting AI tools take positions of positive or constantly prompting them to take positions of positive words and using private or working to move while doing so. All right, Mohammed, before we close, I would like to give you the floor. Is there an idea, a principle or part of your brother vision that you feel people consistently misunderstand and you want them to, you know, be clear about, please share it for us and also let our listeners know where they can learn more about AI-DUP and your work. One, something that some people misunderstand about my work is that some people think that each of my books is a standalone book. This isn't the truth. My books are complementary, they complement one another and they need to be read as a whole bibliography. So this is one thing. They can find my books on Amazon and Google Play and they can find me through my website, MohammedNable.world and OHAMED and ABIL.WORLD. It would be helpful if you can add it to the show notes. Yes, I would do that. Thank you. So I would just appreciate that you can just help me send over the links so it would be easier for me to grab it from there and add it to the show notes. Thank you very much. All right, this has been a really amazing conversation and I think this conversation is especially interesting because it didn't simply about AI or democracy or politics. At its heart, it's about how we decide what to believe in. So in a world where information moves incredibly quickly and opinions can become popular before the authority examined, there is a real value in developing the habit of slowing down, asking better questions, examining our assumptions and being willing to change our minds when the evidence or reasoning calls for it. So thank you all for joining us today at the growth table podcast where we explore the ideas, experiences and questions that help us grow. Until next time, keep questioning, yeah, and keep learning and keep growing. Have a wonderful time, you all. Thank you, Mohammed. Thank you, Blessing. It's been a pleasure.
