It was humongous. So there wasn't like the cute like forest and like cottages near. Yeah. And I feel like I missed out on that part of my childhood that everyone has that when they grew up in a lake. Yeah. And I actually really liked that I didn't ever have to worry about sharks. I was like, this is a great emotion. You know, I grew up before we… I kind of moved around. I was born in Toronto. But then I grew up in Australia when I was young. Oh, my gosh. Wow. My dad is Australian. And when we moved back, we moved back to where our cottage was in Barry's Bay. And I grew up on the lake. And I think because of my time in Australia, even though I knew there weren't sharks in the lake, I would still like… Really? Sometimes be… I also had a very traumatizing experience walking into my aunt and uncle watching Jaws when it got scary. So I did for a very long time still get kind of freaked out when I was swimming. by myself about a rogue shark in the shark. This one singular shark, like a megalodon, like at the bottom. Honestly, like I do, I get that. I get that. Like, and I swim with sharks so often, but even sometimes when I'm like surfing in like a deep part or like if I'm wake surfing behind the boat and I fall and there's like, you can't see the bottom, I do get a little nervous. Yeah. You gotta respect the water. Come on, come faster, please. So what's your ideal beach read? So at this time in the middle of the day, what are you picking up? Like, do you read books similar to yours or do you read like a completely different genre? I read, I do read romance. I read pretty widely, I think. So sometimes it's just general fiction. Sometimes it's a thriller. Sometimes it's a romance. But I think for me and beach reading, I want something that is like a major page turner. Whatever genre it is, I want something that's like really propulsive. You can't put down. I especially, I think, love dramatic stories about women, like friendships or sisters or where it's just high drama. And I like that to me as a beach read. Have you read anything recently on the beach that you're, that you like absolutely 10 out of 10? Okay. So I went to Mexico for March break, which is like the Canadian spring break. And I read two amazing books while I was there that I consider to be perfect. Beach reads. Neither of them are out yet, but they're coming out this year. One is Dolly All the Time by Annabelle Monaghan. Yes, I just saw, I saw something about that on social media, I think two days ago. It is so good. It is a fake dating story. But like, I feel like what Annabelle does with her romances is really write about family and what it means to live a good life. And I find her voice so smart and funny, but also warm. And reading it just, it was like such a delightful experience to read that on the beach. And it's, it's a great book. And the other book I read was Bad Words by, and I hope I don't mispronounce her name, Ria Nock Robinson. I haven't heard of that one. This is a debut adult novel. It's coming out in the fall, I believe. It is a. It's a enemies to lovers romance that is about a literary critic who she has panned and authors his first two books. She's given like the most brutal reviews to, and it's about their, their relationship. So they're enemies. They're, yes, but it is like so smart, so sharp. The writing is brilliant. I think it's almost a genre redefining romance. It is, the bar is set very, very high. Like, I'm not sure how you could write a better enemies to lovers, to be honest.
