Pregnant Teen Mom Executed in Her Own Car

It's Friday night, around 11-15 pm, Sanford Police respond to a call for backup at Coastline Park. "Where's the border?" "It's over there." Minutes ago, an officer on Routine Patrol spotted a vehicle idling in the parking lot. Inside the vehicle, she discovered an unresponsive female slumped back in the driver's seat. "Are you Fizzle Andrews?" "Uh, yeah, she's feeding me." "Do you have lockers in the window?" "Alright, yeah, push them." "Oh, shoot, that's a lot of blood." "All right." Paramedics arrive at the scene, but it's too late. "She's cold, right there." "Yeah." "He is calling." "Yeah, I'm going to call him. There's two of them." After the female victim is declared dead, officers secure the area, and assess the scene. "She's open on this side, and she's been dead for a while." "She had a massive injury, she was out of her flesh every day." "They found a showcase." "Uh, we're at, um, off the gas tank." "I think the parking spot over there." "I'm no gun." "No." Based on the evidence, police determined this shooting wasn't an accident, and it wasn't self-inflicted. This young woman was murdered. "Where's the car on lock when you guys are here?" Police remove the purse and check the wallet. Inside, they find a victim's driver's license. She is 18-year-old Kaylyn Fiengo. "What's on the monitor on the radio?" "It's on the radio's pictures." "Are you sure to talk about your friend?" "Okay. So, so this has to do with her?" "Oh my god. The other phone keeps up." "I'm not running for it." "Okay." "Do you have your ID on you first off? "Because you like her, don't I?" "I don't have it on me because I just rushed out the house because I just felt something was off." "Okay, Simone, I'm in the studio with this. It's like a case kind of thing. And can you explain it? "Uh, you actually found it here?" "Uh, I need it asked. I need to ask you something before you keep out or anything, it's important that you focus." "What was it on the phone or text message?" "Okay, I'm going to say exactly. I'm going to show you this." "The last time I spoke to her was 7-08?" "Yes, today?" "Yes, today." "And what was the conversation about?" "Um, can I see it?" "Okay, um, she was okay, so she has a son." "Yes, so she has a son. She moved because there's a situation going on." "Oh, she got pregnant by somebody else, whatever." "And he had a different baby mama." "And then she was involved with somebody that had a child." Simone identifies 20-year-old Donovan Faezon as the father of Kalen's unborn child. "So she was coming to me, Donovan, for what reason?" "She wanted to talk." "Okay." In fact, he had been pressuring her to get an abortion. "Okay, so tell me what she said about your conversation that she was going to meet up with him." They were just sitting in the car. They didn't do anything. He got her phone and deleted. He deleted their messages. So basically, she would have proved to show." According to Simone, Donovan's attempt to cover up his cheating backfire because Kaelin had already screen-shotted their messages. Three days ago, on November 8th, she reached out to his girlfriend, Ciara, and exposed the truth. "She texted his baby mama, okay. And told him, told him, told her, told her that she was pregnant." Simone says Ciara's response was fairly civil, but Donovan was livid. "Okay, so she told, so she told her baby mama. He started going for a call." Kaelin ignored his calls and texts until yesterday. "She told me last night that he had texted her. He had texted her and said, I want to talk." "This is when she said yesterday, Thursday, November 10th. I don't know why you keep blocking me. I ain't going to argue with you. I just want to talk. It's cool though." Earlier today, Kaelin told Simone she agreed to meet up with Donovan at Coastline Park. "I said, recorded because she was like, I'm scared, I'm parked at the Dan Park right by his house. I said he needs help. He's mom. He's mom's appointment. Yeah, okay. Do we know his mom's name? Okay. Okay. And I said, record it because I knew something was off. She doesn't go long to run an hour without texting or calling me. And I had been blown up her phone for like three hours, like Kaelin, like, what's going on? I just felt it in my body that something was off and I needed to come over here and check for her." The next morning, the medical examiner performs Kaelin's autopsy. He concludes she died from a single gunshot wound to the head. And places her time of death between eight and eight thirty pm. He also confirms she was approximately three months pregnant at the time of her murder. As family and friends grapple with the crushing news, investigators learn more about Kaelin's tragically short life. Loved ones describe her as an old soul who persevered through a teen pregnancy and became a devoted single mother. After graduating high school, Kaelin enrolled in college to study nursing with dreams of a better future for herself and her son. Now, sadly, those dreams will never come true. With Donovan phase on at the top of their suspect list, police continue to piece together what happened. In Kaelin's cell phone, they find evidence that corroborates what her friend Simone told investigator nettles at the crime scene. In a text message to Simone, she described Donovan's reaction when she texted him and told him she was pregnant with his child. And in one of her very last texts to Simone, Kaelin revealed her plan to meet with Donovan on November 11th, but expressed reservations. When investigators ask Simone what Kaelin meant by Donovan's failed plan. She tells them that in a previous meetup, Kaelin told her Donovan grabbed her cell phone and messaged himself from Kaelin's Instagram account so it would appear to his girlfriend Ciara that Kaelin had confirmed her child wasn't his. Investigators also look into Kaelin's relationship with the father of her first child, but they don't detect any red flags. By all accounts, they were on good terms. But when police questioned him, he mentions a cryptic remark Kaelin made yesterday, just hours before her death. As she was dropping their son off at his house, in a rush, she said, "I hope I don't get punched in the stomach." He says he wasn't sure what she meant by that, but given the information they've collected so far, investigators are confident there's only one thing Kaelin could have been referring to. Her scheduled meeting with Donovan Faison. Five days after Kaelin was killed, police swarmed Donovan's department. I'm going to go talk to my parents and see if they can. I don't know. She says that on the evening of November 11th, she did see Donovan's car parked in her driveway around the time he says he was there, but she says she never actually saw or spoke to her son and he never came inside the house. When police map the distance between her house and the crime scene, it's less than half a mile. That puts Donovan in close proximity to the crime scene on the evening of the murder. And even though their search of Donovan's apartment and his car doesn't yield a murder weapon, Donovan's cell phone data turns out to be their smoking gun. Police recover multiple deleted text messages, including an exchange between Donovan and his friend Woody. On November 8th, Donovan texted Woody and told him Kaelin had sent him a photo of her ultrasound. And his messages take on a menacing tone. Then data shows that on November 11th, the day of Kaelin's murder, Donovan's cell phone registered no activity between 706 p.m. and 817 p.m. indicating to police it had been turned off. But prior to that period of inactivity, Donovan's cell phone pinged to a tower right across the street from the crime scene. Police theorized that Donovan used his mother's house as a decoy, parking his car there so it wouldn't be spotted at the park. Then he walked to the park, turned off his phone and waited for Kaelin to arrive. Based on her cell phone records, Kaelin arrived at the park close to 8 p.m. That's when Donovan got into her car, shot her in the head and fled back to his mother's house on foot. He got in his car, turned his cell phone back on and responded to several mistext from Sierra at 821 p.m. Then in the days after Kaelin's murder, Donovan made several incriminating internet searches, including how to clear your location history on settings, and if your phone is turned off, can your IP address be tracked. To investigators, all the evidence adds up to one chilling conclusion. Donovan phase on, lured Kaelin Fyango to coastline park where he murdered her and their unborn child because she refused to terminate her pregnancy. Donovan phase on is arrested and charged on multiple counts, including first-degree murder, killing an unborn child and burglary of a vehicle with an assault or battery. In a statement announcing his arrest, Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith says, quote, "This beautiful young woman and mother was taken from this world far too soon and in a horrific way. We hope that today's arrest brings the slightest amount of peace for Kaelin's family and the young son she left behind. It doesn't bring her back, but at least she will have the justice she deserves." Donovan pleads not guilty, but a jury doesn't buy it. In October of 2025, Donovan is found guilty on all charges, including first-degree murder. And in an 11-to-1 vote, they recommend the death penalty. Two months later, a judge agrees and sentences Donovan phase on to death. Though she was robbed of her life, Kaelin Fyango lives on in the hearts of her son and all the people who loved her. [Music]
