Pre-Season Power Rankings with Sam

The podcast returns after a lengthy offseason for a pre-season power rankings episode, with hosts Joel, Michael, and Sam evaluating all ten teams in their fantasy league. They begin at the bottom, placing Andrew Nevins 10th due to a roster lacking depth beyond a few talented players. Brady Roberts comes in 9th, with the hosts noting his history of failed rebuilds and league-worst 28% lifetime win percentage. Nolan is ranked 8th, with Michael arguing his team could be a playoff contender with one running back trade, though Sam and Joel are less optimistic. Keegan sits at 7th, featuring elite quarterbacks but no reliable running backs. Will lands at 6th with excellent depth but no true difference-makers. Michael's team is ranked 5th-6th after a successful rebuild, with strong receivers but questions at quarterback and tight end. Tim is surprisingly ranked 2nd by Joel and Michael despite having the league's worst receiver room, thanks to dominant running backs like Jahmyr Gibbs and Jonathan Taylor. Sam places himself 2nd, citing a balanced roster and future pick strategy. Zac Zander is unanimously ranked 1st, with the hosts acknowledging his dynasty but noting his aging roster could eventually decline. The episode concludes with trade discussions and plans for future guests.

0:08 We're Back: Kicking Off Pre-Season Power Rankings We're back. It's been a long, long time since we've recorded an episode and it's been a long, long offseason. But it is August 1st. The cows are dancing. If you know, you know. And we are going to do a a power rankings. 0:27 Michael, give us a little rundown. 0:30 Speaker 2 Yeah, I mean, there is Joel, of course, the the episode that we recorded that is forever lost, forever lost to the to the cloud. Nobody will ever see it. It will never, it will never be seen again. 0:46 But there's been some changes over this offseason kind of. So I think with it being August, training camp is going, it's time to check back in on our teams and and see if we have any new contenders for the title. 1:00 Speaker 1 And Michael, I, I want you to say some provocative things this episode. I want you to really get the people going. And I have no doubt that you have the ability to do that. But I feel like that's just been like incubating and burning inside of you to really come out with these these takes that make the league go. 1:16 Man, I forgot why. I really, really love this podcast for takes like this. I've been. 1:24 Speaker 2 Over the summer I was doing my commute dating to Danville and it was just like, I just felt the takes percolating and I was like, I need a microphone, I need a microphone, but I was busy doing other things so the microphone couldn't come to me. So I've got a lot of pent up take energy that that it's time to unleash it. 1:46 But I think the way that we're going to do this, we'll start at the bottom of the league and we'll work our way to the top. We'll just kind of talk through where we think the league is, who we think the serious contenders are. And boy, let me tell you, we've got a team here at the bottom who is not a serious contender. 2:04 And and that is our good friend Andrew Nevins. He's easily tensed on my power rankings. This team is just not good. I said that they have that he has Quinn shot, Judkins, my my GOAT, Luther Burden, Chris Olave and if you're in to Cam scataboo. 2:32 But then the entire rest of the roster is terrible. 2:36 Speaker 1 Yeah, and there are some redeeming qualities about this roster. I actually am in on Cam scataboo this year. The scary part is I feel like a lot of people are in on Cam scataboo and when everybody is really getting excited about a somebody that's gonna kill their their ADP this year, that's when they usually either don't or maybe just meet expectations. 3:01 But I'm excited to watch this New York Giants team now that they're healthy again. And shoot, dude, the edits on Instagram, it's what really gets me going. I, I've talked about this before, but I like the New York Giants and I, I hope Cam does well. 3:17 Speaker 2 They have like very strong spicy white boy energy. The issue is, I think that the New York Giants are just last year's lost Las Vegas Raiders of it's like, let's bring in an old established head coach, an adult in the room. 3:38 We've got some talent. Let's let's see it work. And then turns out that the old coach got fired for a reason and that having Matt and Naggy run your offense is not good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 3:55 So did you have Andrew at 10th as well? The. 3:58 Speaker 1 Clear #10 there's a a steep drop off between 9:00 and 10:00. Also, Sam really just has one quarterback Sam has. 4:09 Speaker 2 Andrew. 4:09 Speaker 1 Yeah, I was. I was a little reading Sam and I'm like, wait a second, that's not right. 4:18 Speaker 2 Yeah. 4:18 Speaker 1 So just one quarterback, Sam Darnold, Shadour Sanders, Anthony Richardson, my my Florida Gator Goat. 4:29 Speaker 2 I I saw a thing come through. I got a sleeper update the other day that was like best throw in camp, Anthony Richardson senior 60 yard bomb to some guy and I was like, I'm still it. 4:45 I I would still send out. Last offseason, about this time, I sent an offer two seconds for Anthony Richardson and I still like it's not 2 seconds anymore, but I could be convinced to throw a second out there. 4:59 Speaker 1 You would not you would not you? 5:00 Speaker 2 Still got it. Him and Trey Lance, they still have it. They just need a chance. 5:04 Speaker 1 Yeah, like and, and last year I I traded for CJ Stroud from Evans. I think CJ Stroud might need to get reunited with his home. I don't know. I'm just, I'm just floating that out there. 5:22 So, so yeah, that's that's something that could be in the works. We'll see. We'll see if. 5:32 Brady Roberts: The Perennial Rebuilder at Number 9 All right, who do you have at 9:00? 5:36 Speaker 1 Who do I have at 9? Give me Brady Roberts. I it's nothing about this team really excites me. You have Jayden Daniels that's exciting, but when it comes to running backs and wide receivers, there isn't anybody that I'm super excited about. 5:59 Mecca Egbuka last year in the back half of the year, a complete non factor and Chase Brown and Bucky Irving. Those are two guys that I don't believe in either, so this could be 1 where he pulls out a few wins early and then starts buying, which could be interesting. 6:21 But I could also see him losing the first few games and then selling off those young running backs as well. But Brady's always buying, so we'll see if that anything changes this year. Do you think there's a chance he makes the playoffs this year? 6:38 What percentage chance do you give for a Brady playoff run? 6:42 Speaker 2 Well, I'll just tell you where he is in my power rankings and I'll let that be my indication. I also have Brady as 9th, so I think there is a 0% chance he makes the playoffs this year. Jaden Daniels is good. 6:59 He's a great fantasy quarterback. He's a good NFL quarterback. He weighs like 110 lbs soaking wet and is prone to get snapped in half at any time. I think Chase Brown's a good player. I think. 7:16 I think that he is on the trading block and the market is just not where I'd like to see it. Tootin is interesting, but I don't actually think he's necessarily that great. And then, EG Muka, you said, you said everything. 7:33 No, it's a pillar of this podcast and a pillar of this league that Brady stinks. And I'm just really grateful to see us get back to this point. And I think that that he is at a point where he is acknowledged that this team is not good. 7:51 And so I don't think I've ever seen somebody embrace a rebuild more than Brady. And I'm just curious to see if this one garners any more results than the last one, the last like 3 that he has entered into it. 8:07 It it is truly remarkable how many times he has tried to rebuild this roster. 8:14 Speaker 3 Yeah. 8:16 Speaker 1 I I don't think he's really tried to rebuild. He's tried to just spend more of his picks on other players that don't pan out. And I don't know what to do because I don't know if I would want to just wait two years to reload like that sucks. Waiting sucks. 8:34 Yeah, Brady. 8:37 Speaker 2 'S has in the all time standings, he's obviously last. He has a 28% win percentage lifetime in this league. Does Brady Roberts there's nobody who has worse. 8:55 Yeah. Sam, welcome into the podcast. We we have discussed our 10th and we are currently discussing our 9th ranked teams. So we would love to hear who you have. 9:07 Speaker 1 Can I interject real quick as well? Sam, first of all, thank you for joining us also. Thanks. 9:15 Speaker 3 For having me. 9:16 Speaker 1 It is currently August 1st at about 9:00 Central Time. If you haven't gotten a phone call from me in the last 15 minutes, it's because I called just about everybody in this league to see if I could have somebody else jump on this podcast because Sam was supposed to join this podcast about 30 minutes ago. 9:32 The courts are saying the alarm did not go off. I don't know if I believe the reports, but nonetheless, Sam, thank you for joining us. We're glad you're here. Give us a quick rundown of your 10 and 9. I know you've been preparing for this moment. 9:46 Speaker 3 I will. Thanks for having me boys. I felt like I woke up and I was late for class. It was horrible. I woke up and I was like, oh, it's 10:00. Ran on, grabbed my computer. Thanks for having me. Let me pull up the tier list. 10:03 I'm glad you asked. Moving on to more important things. 10:08 Speaker 2 Mine is also in tears. I forgot to to state that the tier that we have just discussed Joel Eye entitled butt cheeks. 10:17 Speaker 1 You're putting both of them in the same tier. Yes. I don't think that's fair at all. That's not fair at all. Not yeah, yeah. 10:27 Speaker 3 OK. My tiers are for this upcoming season. Is that applicable or is that? 10:34 Speaker 1 Yes, OK. Yeah. 10:38 Speaker 3 All right, I have a pretty clear F tier. I actually put together like an Excel spreadsheet and put everybody's. Actually, I put everybody's quarterbacks and running backs, and then I didn't put any wide receivers and I put a grade. 10:53 As soon as I got to wide receivers, I got really bored 'cause there are a lot of players in fantasy football. I had a very clear F tier. It was one person and it was Nevins by far. 11:11 Not to say the rebuild can't happen at some point, but especially for this upcoming season. He's in a tier of his own. He is tanking and then right after that in the D tier also by themselves. 11:27 I had you heard with Purd. So Brady escaped the bottom 2 tiers, but we'll we'll get to that afterwards. So thanks for letting me get caught up. 11:43 Is Nolan's Team a Playoff Contender or Just Average? That's where I'm at. 11:45 Speaker 2 All right, let's hear, let's hear your, your Brady arguments because Joel and I have Brady 9th And then when we, when Joel and I get to Nolan, we'll discuss Nolan. 11:57 Speaker 3 OK, so I have Brady 8th and reason being I'm looking through the a breakdown of their rosters. I think Brady definitely has better running backs than Nolan, which I know sounds really specific, but I think when you are going to be not competing for a championship, having two or three solid running backs can win you more weeks than you think 'cause you can usually find wide receivers who give you 8 to 10 points. 12:40 It is hard to find you running backs who give you 8 to 10 points that you're not looking for at the beginning of the season. So and I think that their quarterbacks are pretty comparable. Also, Brady is Jayden Daniels. Jayden Daniels could score 20 points a game, more of an X Factor than pretty much any buddy on Nolan's team. 13:02 Nolan's quarterbacks are extremely average and he has a lot of running backs, but not really an X Factor there. And then wide receivers are also just, it's just so average. 13:17 It's so average across the board that I couldn't give Nolan a bump up. Above like a 5 or 6 out of 10 is where I landed. 13:28 Speaker 2 Joel, where do you have Nolan? 13:30 Speaker 1 I have Nolan that ate so just a flip flop of of Brady and Nolan. And but the reason I have Nolan above Brady is I I do like Bonex and Rockford and the Mandalorian. 13:48 Well, I'm going to see what he does, but you said that he doesn't have an X Factor. I think you're forgetting about the greatest tight end, Kyle Pitts. Kyle Pitts is going to have an unreal year. 14:03 An unreal. 14:04 Speaker 2 Year 22. 14:05 Speaker 1 He's still, he's actually not. That's a he's 19. It's crazy. 14:13 Speaker 3 OK, the crazy thing about that, that is the only tight end that Nolan has on his roster. 14:21 Speaker 2 It yeah, because I have Nolan at 8th as well and I have like pros and cons for every every roster that where I ranked them and I was like the only tight end is Kyle Pitts. 14:35 Speaker 1 Which is great. You need another one. You don't need another one. He's the GOAT. He's the greatest. 14:38 Speaker 2 Guy, I'm gonna get a Rhonda Gadsden. Yeah, I have Nolan at 8th as well. My Joel told me that I needed to have takes because it's been too long. And my take is that this is a playoff team. He is he is 1. 14:56 He is 1 running back trade away from this being a playoff team. I, I have a problem with how into Jalen Waddle I am this year. I think that well, he is just he's a really good football player. 15:12 I think people have forgotten this. Bo Nix is not a good quarterback, but he's really good at throwing the ball short and Jalen Waddle is just a supreme athlete. So I think that Jalen Waddle has legitimate league winning upside this year. 15:30 And yes, he's got like a bunch of trash outside of that on this receiver room, except for two players who are currently hurt. But I think that Jalen Waddle is good enough that if Malik Neighbors is back, even if he's 70% of himself, he can stay water for a little bit too. 15:53 I don't know, go two and three in the first five weeks and have himself in a position to to make a trade to contend for a playoff spot. So I'll amend my take to a playoff team, either with a running back trade or with a Kyron Williams injury, because he has Blake Korum on this roster who will go to the moon if Kyron Williams gets hurt. 16:20 Speaker 1 Yeah, that's exciting stuff. The the wire, the running backroom is pretty, pretty bad. So I'm trying to think who would be a trade candidate for him? Like what would you want to see him trade for? 16:38 Looking at Tim's team I could see like a a Jalen Warren not being a bad option to go after. 16:48 Speaker 2 You mean Tim trades for a receiver? Surely not. 16:52 Speaker 1 I mean, maybe, maybe we'll get to Tim later, but I don't think that wide receiver room is as bad as it looks. 17:04 Speaker 2 No, the top three of neighbors, Waddle and Pierce, that I think that's not bad at all. Now, don't look at anybody else on the roster. But if you just, if you just want to sell yourself the story, which I clearly have, I I think that this could be a playoff team. 17:25 Speaker 1 Could be a playoff team. Ayri Kielstall on this team? That's kind of crazy. 17:32 Speaker 3 I was talking to a few of our other league mates about this last week. I'm totally out on Jayla model. Maybe that's what's biasing me here with Nolan, but I look at his roster and I'm like you've won good receiver who is injured. 17:54 So it's pretty clear cut for me. I just I don't believe in Jalen model. We don't know about Alec Pierce. 18:03 Speaker 2 Yep, and that we are like we have the opposite opinion on one player and so I'm like that's a playoff team and you're like this is the the second worst team in the league. 18:12 Keegan's Roster: Elite QBs, No Running Backs Who do you have at 7 Sam? 18:15 Speaker 3 7th Let's see #7 I have Keegan and #7 wow, OK. I think Keegan has really good pieces. 18:32 Obviously he is Jamar Chase, he's Joe Burrow, he's Jalen Hurts, but he doesn't have any running backs. Maybe you guys are getting an an insight into how I view construction of fantasy football teams. I think if you don't have running backs, it's going to be hard to find success. 18:52 And Keegan's top running back right now is David Montgomery, which I just is not. I don't think it's going to get you past the the hump, even if you have the Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase stack. 19:09 I have him in the sea tier at #7 so just a little below average. I think insider information has told me Keegan might be toying with the idea of a rebuild, but also he's probably toying with the idea of selling a bunch of picks to get to fill some holes at running back. 19:36 I've Keegan at #7. 19:39 Speaker 2 I'll jump in here because I also have Keegan at #7 I I feel a similar way. I said that the chase Burrow stack can win a week and Tucker craft showed legitimate flashes before he got hurt last year. I but yeah, I I also outlined I'm a bit confused about where this roster is going to go. 20:03 I think he's 1 trade away from revealing where he's truly going to be and either that's trying to add a serious running back or selling. Some of these players to embrace a rebuild. Personally, I think I see this more of a rebuild, but I guess you can wait a few weeks and see where he ends up. 20:26 His running back room is like all, like redraft running backs who are going in like the eighth round and you're like, man, this is a nice, this is a nice start. Throw here in the eighth round, Kenny Gainwell and Chris Rodriguez and my hero RB strategy. 20:42 I, I, I take Jameer Gibbs 2nd and then I just wait until the, the 12th round to add Crod and and Kenny Gainwell and we just go from there. Unfortunately, those players have to be serious for Keegan in order to, to have a good roster. 20:58 So yeah, I found I found him sitting at 7th pretty. 21:04 Speaker 1 Pretty handily, yeah. Your your guys are not going to like this one. I got Kiki at 5:00 so. 21:13 Speaker 3 I'm fine with that. I, I, I mean, if you go down the roster and you're like, I like this guy, I like this guy. He has a lot of Flyers, so it could definitely work out. 21:22 Speaker 2 I think David had a tier 5 to 7. 21:25 Speaker 1 I have to think if David, my company still got the juice in them and I you don't need to hit on every single one of these flyer running backs. You just need to hit on one or two and Jadarian price, the rookie yes he's going to be splitting carries. 21:41 That's one injury away from being a bell cow like we saw that happen whenever Charbonnay got hurt or Kenneth Walker got hurt like the other person jumps to a surefire every week starter putting up 20 plus points a game. 22:00 You guys already talked about the Jamar Chase and Joe Burrowstack, but you guys didn't talk about Isaiah Likely who's going to be catching passes on this New York Giants team. I like you got one wide receiver and that's it. 22:17 Like I think Isaiah Likely is going to be the second pass catcher in that offense and I would trust him as a flex option outside of the tight end spot alongside Techer Craft. 22:32 I think there's this is not as hopeless as it looks. I hope he doesn't trade Jalen Hurts and at least sticks with him for the first few weeks just to see how the season goes. 22:43 Speaker 2 I think Isaiah Likely is the second tight end on the Giants, so I'm not very concerned about him. But yeah, I I have a tier from 5:00 to 7:00 and I think that Keegan can move around in that tier depending on how you like it. 23:02 I disagree with Jalen Hurts. I think you should trade him as soon as possible. And I'm not saying this because I need quarterbacks because I don't want Jalen Hurts, but he is not talented. 23:17 So he's a prime player that if you're not actually going to be a contending roster to trade him to somebody, let's say, who only has two quarterbacks like Caleb Williams and Drake man, for example. 23:34 Just throwing out just throwing out examples here and we are underselling the fact that Keegan's roster is being buoyed down by the bad energy of Deshaun Watson and that alone dropped him to 7th. 23:50 Will's Team: Great Depth, Lacking Week-Winners Absolutely. Are we really still going to be hating on Deshaun Watson? 23:55 Speaker 2 All right, the 6th, 6th, 6th Sam. 23:59 Speaker 3 OK, At 6th I have us moving up to the B tier here and every tier from now on has two teams in it. At six, I have Will, which I was actually kind of surprised with, but I went with my metrics instead of my gut. 24:18 Maybe that's going to bite me in the butt. That was kind of a bar right there, but Will also has good quarterbacks. I actually think Keegan has better quarterbacks than Will. Maybe that's a hot take, but Will has good quarterbacks and he's good quarterback depth. 24:37 He has good running backs and running back depth and his wide receivers are also like good. I think he really is going to fall flat at tight end, and as I'm hearing myself speak the last few times here, I feel like I'm being really picky about tight end. 24:55 But this is the point where in the power rankings where you're going to try and be a contender or at least a competitive playoff team. If you have a tight end who's only scoring you 3 or 4 points a week or even 6 points a week, I just don't think that you can make it up to that next tier to be a competitor and Will's tight ends right now. 25:23 Let's see if I pull this up. He's got. 25:26 Speaker 2 Kenyan Sadiq Hunter Henry and Theo Johnson. 25:30 Speaker 3 Yeah, I think Sadiq was obviously the right draft pick for him and I think in a two to three-year span we'll really cover some ground in filling in this tight end room. But he could be the 4th pass catcher on The Jets, on The Jets too, even though he is a phenomenal athlete. 25:56 So I've will at six. 26:00 Speaker 1 And I'll jump, I'll jump in here. I I had Will at my 7:00. So I had him below that. So in the same tier ish in my 6 I had you Michael, and then I had Keegan out of my 5. 26:23 So like running from 765 I had Will, Michael, Keegan. Who do you want me to talk about here? Should I talk more about why I had Will a little bit lower? 26:41 Speaker 2 Yeah, let's, let's go. Will we'll. 26:43 Speaker 1 Focus more on Will here. There isn't a player on that team that can win you a week. Maybe you can look at Lamar, but Lamar is either the best quarterback in the NFL in terms of actual skill and fancy production or he's going to be like quarterback 15. 27:02 So depending on what year, maybe that could be your one guy. Everybody else is just a really great depth piece where you can start them with confidence. But they don't have that boom upside. 27:18 They have the great floor, but they don't have that ability to to win you a week like Jamar Chase. Jamar Chase, That's why I have, that's why I have Keegan so much higher. It's 'cause you're going to win weeks two or three of them based on just big, big games. 27:39 Speaker 2 There's nobody on this team that really scares me and jumping on top of the tight end pick, you got to win those head to head match ups and you're going to lose the tight end match up every single time. Yeah, I have Will at that 6th as well. 27:56 All the same reasons his running backroom is interesting. Like I think Saquon could have a nice bounce back this year, depending on if you're a Sean Man you guy and then Kyron Jovante, Travis HN. 28:13 These are all players who are, I think, good. None of them are great. And I said that something that you have to consider is Rashi Rice could go to prison legitimately at any time. That's part of the the fun, the fun wrinkles that he offers to your your roster is you're like, man, I have the wide receiver too, but he could just turn around and next thing you know, he's hanging out with Tony Romo in in some jail somewhere. 28:37 So I love Teddaroa McMillan. I think he's great. Lamar Jackson is obviously great, but he is, as Joel said, he's a higher variance player even if it's not year to year variance. Like he's never really been as bad as he was last year and in terms of a a year long finish. 28:57 But he will give you week to week variance that Josh Allen won't give you in terms of those like upper echelon fantasy quarterbacks, yeah, Lamar could score you 40. He could also be the quarterback 17 on a week and have 110 passing yards and the Ravens win like 2:50. 29:20 It's just that is the sort of quarterback he is. And so when you invite that volatility, it means you're not necessarily going to have that week to week domination. All right, Joel kind of spoiled it early because of his rankings. 29:35 Michael's Team: A Successful Rebuild with Depth Concerns He has me at 6th. I'm sure that Sam has me around this range. So, Joel, let's hear. 29:44 Speaker 1 Yeah, this team, it's defined by it's, it's wide receivers, has good wide receivers and depth. The question marks are in the quarterbacks and the question marks are also in the tight end category. 30:04 For me. The question is, is Kyler going to be good? I think yes. I think Kyler's going to be much better than 9. I think we saw how Sam Darnold was developed and and shipped away a year later, but when he's got some of the best wide receivers to throw to you. 30:23 So I think Kyler's going to be good and he's got wide receivers on that team to throw too. But also, Michael's wide receivers got JSN and T Higgins. Those are two guys that I really like. 30:38 Jordan Tyson, Rookie, You don't know how long that guy is going to take to become an immediate producer, but something I'm still excited to watch. Matthew Golden, I think that's a bit of a joke, but an exciting wide receiver 5 or 6 on that team, but it's the tight ends as well. 31:06 Tight ends are Arande Gadsen. We were talking about this a little bit before the podcast started and yeah, it's a it's a it's a bummer that guy was. 31:22 I wonder what his total ranking was midway through last season but. 31:27 Speaker 2 This is Harold Fan in New Racer that I won't stand for, but we'll we'll let Sam go first before I defend my roster. So you have that at 5:00. 31:38 Speaker 3 My question is, do you want me to talk about Michael or who I have at 5:00 because I don't have Michael at 5:00. 31:45 Speaker 2 This is this is electric. He's going. 31:48 Speaker 1 To have, he's going to have me there. 31:51 Speaker 3 I do not have Joel there. I'll, I'll for the sake of consistency, we'll keep talking about Michael. I'm Michael at 4, but I have you tier above Will and my number 5. Michael, I really like your team. 32:07 I was looking through it and this is exactly how I would have rebuilt this team because you were in full rebuild for a year and a half, maybe 2 full seasons. I can't quite remember, but you have a solid quarterback in Jordan Love who's going to be playing on the Packers for the next three to five years. 32:31 And then you have two really good Flyers on your super flex, Kyler Murray and Malik Willis. It's probably going to end up being Kyler Murray, but you have three starting quarterbacks, all who are Kyler and Malik, who are on kind of like prove it contracts, which means that hopefully their production is going to be some of the highest we've seen in their career or we find out that they're just bad quarterbacks. 32:58 I feel like one of them will be good and is going to be giving you 14 to 18, if not 20 points in and out of every week. Your running backs are solid. You made a steal with the Ken Walker thing because you bought him right before the playoffs and then he turned into the Super Bowl MVP and then he signed with the Chiefs, who haven't had a good running back since Kareem Hunt. 33:31 And when they had Kareem Hunt, he was unreal. You have Jeremiah Love, who's one of the best running back prospects. After that, it does kind of fall off. But you picked up my trash to treasure Jonathan Brooks, and I'm assuming you're keeping him on IR and then moving on to like your wide receivers and flexes. 33:52 You have JSN and T Higgins at your wide receiver one and two, and then your flexes are Quintin Johnston and Marvin Harrison, Matthew Golden, Travis Hunter and Jordan Tyson and Joan Jennings. 34:08 Speaker 1 Joan Jennings. 34:10 Speaker 2 Worth a second. 34:10 Speaker 3 Note worth a second. And then yeah, I believe in Harold Fannin. I also believe in Brenton Strange. I like player Strange. He he's not going to be your starting tight end, but on a bye week or if you have a ton of injuries, you can fill him in. 34:29 And then Arande Gatson is good too. I don't think you have a bad player on your team and that's my point. Now, The thing is specifically your quarterbacks, some two if not all three of these quarterbacks could be irrelevant in like two or three years, not because they won't be starting, but because they could see fall off. 34:51 So for this upcoming year, I have you at #4 and I have you in the A tier of my rankings. 35:01 Speaker 2 What a time to be alive times. 35:04 Speaker 1 Like this, huh? 35:05 Speaker 2 I have myself at 5th. You said accurate things about this roster. Joel did not. He dissed on my Tide end room. My Tide end room is not the best, but it certainly doesn't stink. 35:24 I think the biggest question mark right now is whether or not Mike Lafleur and and Nate Hackett are as big as idiots as they are sounding right now in the press. I would venture to say yes. I think there's going to be way too much Tyler Algier in Arizona for drafting a running back third. 35:43 And so it's like I need more running back depth. The biggest mistake that I made last year was my RJ Harvey and Travis Hunter trade. It just I I needed depth at both those positions. 36:00 I didn't need the depth at tight end 'cause I had Fan and Gadsden and Strange and so I took a risk. And I think that both of those players are irrelevant. And so it would be nice to add some some running back depth based on the prices that I'm seeing in the market is just way too high for for players that I'm willing to add. 36:24 And so I think we're going to ride with it. But it, yeah, my team's fine. It's good. It's not great, but I it's the sort of team that I, I think I'm at a point in this offseason where I just want to hit Week 1 and see what I've got. 36:45 Especially with players like Marvin Harrison Junior and Quinton Johnston. I actually think is a really, really good player and I am really excited for him in the Mike McDaniel offense. 36:58 Tim's Team: Dominant Running Backs, Questionable Receivers So who do you have it for, Sam? Oh, who do you have at 5:00? 37:04 Speaker 3 Yeah, at 5:00 I have Tim. 37:06 Speaker 1 Wow. 37:08 Speaker 3 Yeah, Tim. 37:11 Speaker 2 Quick pause here. This really underlies this kind of undercuts your your methods that you have laid out thus far of really prioritizing running back in quarterback, which I think speaks to the state of this roster, which I've gotten angry about numerous times. 37:30 Speaker 3 So yeah, basically I put everybody on a scale of 0 through 10, just a little inside baseball here, and I graded all of their positions zero through 10. And I just found like, who has the high score overall? 37:45 Tim has 10 out of 10 running backs and his score is a 7 1/2 out of 10 total. So if that goes to show you how much I don't really believe in the rest of his roster, there you have it. 38:03 I think his quarterbacks are good. I think Justin, everyone keeps telling me, Justin Herbert, this is the year. They've been telling me that for the last four years. He'll be good. 38:20 But he and Jared Goff are probably just going to be the starting quarterbacks and like, they'll just be good. I don't think they're going to be amazing, but they'll be good. The running backs are very good. This is where Tim really can patch up his team because he can start Jamir Gibbs and Jonathan Taylor and then flex 2 running backs, Omari and Hampton. 38:49 I think if anyone is going to see a resurgence here on the Chargers, it's going to be Omari and Hampton and not Justin Herbert. We'll have to wait and see how that goes. His receivers could use some help. He is putting a lot of faith in Devonta Smith and Terry Mclaurin, who have kind of just found themselves in this atmosphere of like, well, there's no one else on this team to throw the football to. 39:15 So hopefully they'll throw the football to me. After that it it falls off pretty drastically, in my opinion. If you believe in DJ Moore and the Bills, good for you. 39:29 Speaker 2 We are three Bears fans on this podcast. We can speak. DJ Moore is not good anymore. 39:34 Speaker 3 I. 39:35 Speaker 2 He's fine. 39:37 Speaker 3 He he will be good from NFL in NFL terms because I think he's going to help to spread the defense out compared to last year because there were no receiver threats on the Bills last year there. They, from my understanding, didn't have a way to spread a defense well. 39:57 Now they're going to have a little bit more opportunity with that. From a fantasy standpoint, I would not expect more than 10 points a week from DJ Moore, which will work with the Flex. But again, I think when that's what your wide receivers are looking at, to be 5th in my power rankings and be in the B tier with Will, I think is appropriate. 40:18 I feel like this team is comparable to Will in terms of the output. 40:24 Speaker 2 Joel, where do you have Tim? 40:28 Speaker 1 I had Tim at #2. 40:31 Speaker 3 Wow. 40:32 Speaker 2 I have Tim at #2. 40:34 Speaker 1 Yeah, I, I really love, I really love Tim's team. You already talked about the running backs, but the, the tight end room as well, Tyler Warren and Sam Laporta. And that's really great. And like, OK, A.J. 40:49 Brown leaving really opens the room up for Damonta Smith, Jordan Addison. We already talked about Kyler Murray. But I think it's going to be a huge, huge step up from last year because Vikings wide receivers are no longer going to be irrelevant. 41:05 Like we saw Justin Jefferson be complete non factor like a serious bench candidate last year because of nine. A rising, what should I say? Like a rising tide raises all ships, all boats. Yeah, I'm going to set up better myself. 41:23 Speaker 2 A quick pause on your Jordan Addison. You are forgetting about somebody that the Vikings added as target competition there. So. 41:30 Speaker 3 Who I've mentioned. 41:32 Speaker 1 You just got is that. 41:34 Speaker 2 Jawan. Oh boy, is it Jawan? Yeah, OK. My Tyler Jawan stacks are going to wreck this league. 41:44 Speaker 1 I hope. I hope they do. I hope that I get a 200 bomb dropped on me because a Kyler and Jawan Jennings combined for 80 points. It would feed families week 1 as well. But you can find wide receivers on the waivers as well. 42:01 Sam, I think you even said this. You can find a guy to plug in here, plug in there. And for me quarterbacks, there's you have your your top guys, you got your Josh Allen's, you've got your Lamar's. 42:16 But after that, like from 5 to 20, the differentiating factors aren't that big. So I don't mind starting Jared Goff or Tyler. 42:34 I I never know how to say his last name. How do you say Tyler's last Chuck? I just want to say Xiao. It's never Xiao. I don't think they're they're bad options. And oh shoot, dude, Jamir Gibbs is so good, man, he's so good. 42:49 Jonathan Taylor's so good. Omar and Hampton going to be even better pass catching as well. This is my #2. 42:56 Speaker 2 Yeah, I have Tim at #2 as well. His running backroom is the the lady from Talladega Nights who's just like I love to feel the cars go by. That's what that's what I feel like when I, when I look at this running backroom. It it does things to me. 43:13 I'm a lifetime Justin Herbert believer. I will. I will never abandoned him. He is my beautiful sweet Prince after I ragged on Tim for drafting the guy. But ever since then I've I love Justin Herbert and I like Tyler Shuck. 43:28 I liked him coming into the coming into the NFLI thought he was pretty decent. He was just 700 years old. So there's there's things that I love about this roster. Yeah, and I think I've made my opinions very clear on the way that this team is managed and the clear flaws that this team has that have not been addressed for 3-4 years running. 44:00 Our good mutual friend, mutual friend of all three people on this podcast, Colton Brione, has told me that he will sometimes listen to this and he likes to laugh at how angry I get about Tim's wide receiver room construction because it like it's unhealthy. 44:18 The amount of time that I spend thinking about if only he would just do something to address this room, how good this team would be. He's not going to. And so I'm just going to get mad. 44:34 But I wanted to have a good show, a showing of goodwill by putting Tim at second, because that's how good I think the rest of this roster is. All right, that was 4, right? So Sam, who do you have at 3rd? 44:50 Speaker 3 At 3rd I have Joel, At 3rd, a respectable 3rd, I have. Let's see, Joel. I think you have a solid roster. 45:07 I don't think it competes with the 1st and 2nd place teams that I have here. Obviously you have a lot of good quarterbacks. I think I actually don't know who's going to be your best quarterback this year. 45:26 I think it's going to be Trevor Lawrence, but I could be wrong for fantasy reasons. I think it's either Trevor or Jackson Dart. We'll see. I'm also CJ Stroud believer, but you have a good quarterback room. 45:42 You're running backs are held up entirely by Bijon Robinson, which is not a bad sentence in of in of itself. Bijon Robinson is one of the best running backs we've ever seen. So you can kind of just set and forget that along with Josh Jacobs and just be content with that. 46:01 Your receivers, CD Lamb and Justin Jefferson. This is crazy to me because you drafted these guys before I came into the league. You really drafted these guys with almost back-to-back rookie picks. And then you're like, OK, my receivers are set for six years because that's like that's it. 46:23 That's your receiver room. And then you have like some fillers and then you have Brock Bowers, who's good. 46:32 Speaker 2 Really good. 46:35 Speaker 1 Just got married or not married? Just got engaged. 46:37 Speaker 3 Yeah, Congrats to Brock. 46:40 Speaker 2 Not nearly the fanfare of the Justin Herbert engagement, but still big for still big for the program. Joel, I have you at 4th. 46:49 Speaker 1 I I have myself at 4th as well. 46:51 Speaker 2 Yeah, I think all the things that Sam just outlined ring true. I also believe in Trevor Lawrence. I also believe in CJ Shroud. I do not believe in Jackson Dart. And that's just probably because I don't like his energy. 47:07 And so I'm like, get this guy out of here. I said that my my big concern is the extreme lap, lack of depth at receiver. And obviously, like you could look at this running backroom and be like, man, imagine if I had, I don't know, like James Cook and Kenneth Walker, for example, on top of the players that you already had, Like imagine having James Cook instead of Xavier Worthy, for example, and just how that could benefit this team. 47:39 But. 47:41 Speaker 1 In a self sabotage of myself from last offseason and it's kind of makes me sad because holy cow this team Be great if I had James Cook and Kenneth Walker right now in my flex. 47:55 Speaker 2 Yeah, Yeah, I I think that obviously like your starting lineup still has the possibility to beat any team in the league. Maybe if you, if we like siphon Zach out of the league, your starting lineup has the possibility to be any, any roster in this league. 48:20 It's just the depth outside of that I think is a question mark. I'm still a Roma Dunze believer. I'm now don't hear what I'm not saying. I'm not willing to trade for him from you, Joel, but I still think that he's got a chance to be the bears #1 wide receiver. 48:40 The question is just how many targets is that going to be? Because Coulson Loveland's the best pass catcher on the team. He's probably the best skill player on the team. And then Luther Burden's great I so it's like, even if Rome's the number one read target in terms of receivers, he's probably the number 2 read on any play. 49:06 Speaker 1 Yeah. And you saying all the things that I'm thinking of myself, I really just need to get a little bit more depth here. And I have 5 quarterbacks. And so the trouble I'm having my trade offers are I want to create a quarterback, but people also want to give me another quarterback. 49:25 So if I'm, I'm trying to find like a quarterback for wire, receiver, quarterback for running back, quarterback for insert, somebody for flex. And it's, it's tough because if I want to trade DAC, who needs, who needs quarterbacks? Michael Michael doesn't want DAC like we should be trading DAC back and forth. 49:45 Speaker 2 Yeah, that I think would be like our third time doing that, so. 49:48 Speaker 1 Yeah. Or you look at Andrew and like, oh, who would be a good quarterback for for him to rebuild with CJ Stroud potentially. It's like I just traded for CJ Stroud from him last year and I can't have a a serious trade conversation with Brady. 50:07 It just doesn't. It's it's never once, it's never once gotten even close to a productive conversation. So at this point it's like, whatever. 50:17 Speaker 3 Have you ever traded with Brady? 50:19 Speaker 2 Yes, one time I can find that out. 50:21 Speaker 1 One time there's been a trade, it was like a fourth round pick for a running back, which was a handcuff for him or something like that. 50:30 Speaker 2 Yeah, I think we discussed this one time and it was a it was a bad trade. 50:35 Speaker 1 Yeah, it was not a real trade. I think the guy I traded ended up being on the waivers like a few months later, just on serious trades. But yeah, I'm nervous, man. I've I've not had very good injury luck over the last two years or so. 50:53 And when injuries strike, and they will, it's gonna be Slim Pickens on my bench. I didn't even need to be active on the waivers early in the season to make sure I I grabbed those wide receivers, running backs that show flashes of brilliance early. 51:12 Speaker 2 In 2021, you traded. You got Josh Jacobs, the 101, the 2023 One O 1 and what became the 2021 One O 1 for Saquon Barkley and Mike Kasiki from Brady. 51:31 Speaker 1 Yeah, that was that was how I ended up getting Dijon as well. Dijon and Trevor Lawrence and Josh Jacobs. Yeah, that that was that break back years. 51:46 Holy cow. 51:47 Speaker 3 That's insane. That's a crazy. 51:51 Speaker 2 Trade retrospectively. Joel's team is built off of 1 highway robbery of Brady and our start up draft where he took CD Lamb and Justin Jefferson and like back-to-back picks. That's cool. He hasn't done anything since he's like this is good for me. 52:08 I don't. I don't need any. 52:09 Speaker 1 More players Cooper Cups generational season getting me a a chip. 52:14 Speaker 3 Yep, good for you, Joel. 52:16 Speaker 1 Like dude, I'm I'm not here for for for good gameplay, I'm good. I'm here for luck and shenanigans. 52:26 Sam's Team: A Strong Contender with Future Pick Strategy All right, Sam, tell us why you are the number two team in the league. 52:31 Speaker 3 I am the number two team in the league. I think that just looking at contending for this season, my roster pretty much goes pound for pound with any other roster. 52:48 In the leak, I can see a case where somebody would take Zac's obviously wide receiver room over mine. I have Zac's wide receiver room graded as the only 10 out of 10, and if you like his running backroom more than mine, I understand that. 53:08 I don't personally, but I think the only thing I really need is one more great receiver and then I'm set to be a contender, I would think not just for this year, but for multiple years. 53:27 And I feel like that puts me in a position that not a lot of other rosters, if any other rosters are in. And and maybe to your point, Michael, I need more depth at quarterback. 53:43 Maybe I go shopping for a quarterback from Joel, but I'm probably not going to trade a first round pick for a quarterback who's going to sit on my bench. So it puts me in kind of a sticky predicament. 53:57 Speaker 1 You could trade your Carson back. 54:00 Speaker 3 I thought about doing that because I have Jacoby Brissette, but then when they draft Arch Manning or Dante more next year, I'm kind of in a pickle. 54:15 Speaker 1 Anyways, Carson Beck doesn't tickle your pickle. 54:19 Speaker 3 I mean, he does, but I don't know if I can have him and Cade Klubnik on the same team. I feel like that locker room management, I'm kind of handing it over to the the rookies at that point and I don't think that's going to go well. 54:34 Speaker 1 Fair. 54:34 Speaker 3 Yeah, so that's why I have myself at 2. I think the worst part of my team is actually the future picks that I have. This is the first year going into the year where I don't have multiple first round picks. Welcome to. 54:48 Speaker 2 The club. 54:49 Speaker 3 Yeah, we'll see. We'll see what happens. Also, this is contingent on people being in on Colston, Loveland. And if you're not, then I could see why you would not think I'm a contender. 55:01 Speaker 2 If you're not in on Colston Loveland, you don't like football. Joel, where do you have Sam? 55:07 Speaker 1 I had Sam at 3, I had Sam at 2, Sam at three. I think all the same reasons here. I'm always very cautious in like in my Bears love. 55:24 Like I remember last season I was looking at the schedule and I was like, the Bears are going to win five games. Obviously I was dead wrong. But I think that also applies a little bit to bears players when it comes to fantasy. I don't want to get my expectations too high because I just I know that my heart ends up getting crushed and I don't know what that says about me as a fan, Michael, you'd probably hate that. 55:47 You should say, oh, Joel, you should look your team and be delusional about it. Like, yes, maybe I don't know. So I. 55:55 Speaker 2 Don't think I'm a delusional Bears fan. I am a delusional Colston Loveland fan. 56:00 Speaker 1 And I do have a photo with Colston Loveland. So at the not relevant to anything this podcast, I just wanted to flex that. 56:13 Speaker 2 Yeah, good flex. Yeah, I have Sam at 3rd as well. For me, the tiebreaker just came down to between Tim and Sam. Tim has a superpower on his roster in his room in one of his like lineup spots and that that is his running backroom. 56:31 And I, I don't think that your roster, Sam has that superpower that Tim's does, except for Colston Loveland, of course. I like a lot of your players. I love the quarterbacks, Drake May and Caleb Williams. 56:48 I would have done insane things to try to get Drake May on my roster. I'm a bit worried about your running backroom, personally. A chain a Chan is a really good player. 57:07 The Dolphins are just going to be probably the worst team in football with a bullet this year. And so that just that makes me very nervous about him. Genti I think is good. The redraft hype is getting a bit too spicy for me, but I I think he's legitimately good and I'm just not a Henderson believer. 57:29 I don't think. I think that's the point where I've gotten to. I think Romandre is better than people think, but you have Swift and Monung guy who are both great. And I'm legally obligated to not like Chuba Hubbard because I have Jonathan Brooks. But I I think this roster is good. 57:47 But like I said, Tim's running backroom is just, it's so good that I couldn't, I couldn't swing it in my in my rankings, even with Tim having legitimately the worst receiver room in this league. 58:05 Speaker 3 That's fair. I you're putting me in a position where I I can't tell you. I just have to show you and that's fine. 58:14 Speaker 2 Yep. Are you a Garrett Wilson believer this year? Because you're out on Jalen Waddle, which I think is an understandable position. But I see Jalen Waddle and Garrett Wilson is very similar players. They're extremely talented but have been consistently stuck with quarterbacks who are not that good and in situations that are not that good. 58:38 Speaker 3 Yeah, that's a good question. So somebody pointed this out to me about Jalen Waddle. I think 3 years ago at this point, Jalen Waddle does not catch the football with his hands. 58:54 He always catches it with his body. And I've maybe obviously not always, but he like, you know, I don't even know what you call it like scoops it into his body and catches it on his chest. He catches it with his chest. 59:11 Garrett Wilson is the exact opposite of that. That dude's hands are insane if you just watch them. Garrett Wilson Highlights I don't know if you can find another receiver in the NFL where you're like, wow, that guy is really, really good at football, but his fantasy value just doesn't reflect that. 59:41 It's lower than that. I mean, obviously you can probably find an example of that, but I have always viewed Garrett Wilson as like a smaller version of Justin Jefferson. Like, that is his prototype and that's how they use him in the offense. The problem to your point, Michael, is he's on The Jets now. 1:00:00 He was on The Jets last year where they had one of the worst seasons we've seen in a while. And until he got hurt and they shut him down, he was playing well, Like really well, even on an offense that scored like 10 points a game. 1:00:21 So. To answer your question, I do believe in Garrett Wilson also. I don't need to start him on my team. Yeah. So I feel very comfortable with it. It feels very much like like if I did not have Drake London and my top receiver was Nico Collins and my and I needed to start Garrett Wilson, I would probably try and move him for a receiver who's going to have more consistent output. 1:00:54 I don't know who that would be. But yeah, I think Garrett Wilson is just a flyer this year. He's probably going to start on my bench by Wilson. What happens? And I feel the exact same way about Makai Lemon. 1:01:09 Speaker 2 Yep, Yeah, I I feel myself getting really into Garrett Wilson and I feel myself telling the story about Geno Smith and The Jets pass catchers because I think that Geno Smith is not as bad as it looked last year. 1:01:33 He was legitimately good in Seattle and I'm not going to let people tell me he wasn't because he was. He was like a top six quarterback for a few years in Seattle. He was great. And then every time I do that, I just remember who the offensive coordinator is and I'm like, it's Frank Reich. 1:01:50 I'm out and that's where I I always get myself. I'm like right on the edge of like jumping off the high dive into like I'm going to be taking AD Mitchell and all redraft leagues that I'm in. I think that Garrett Wilson is a nice value. 1:02:07 And then I'm like Frank Reich is here. And then I I go back down the ladder. All right, this brings us naturally to where everybody knew this would be our number one team in the league is going to be Zac Zander the three time soon to be 4 time Sam. 1:02:27 Zac Zander: The Unbeatable Dynasty and Episode Wrap-Up Let's hear it. Can anybody beat this? Can anybody beat this man? 1:02:34 Speaker 3 So I think the best part is Zac's team is his receivers. I think there's actually a good chance his running backs, not that they're not going to be bad, but they're not going to be as good as last year. 1:02:52 Speaker 1 Are you talking about a potential James Cook regression? 1:02:55 Speaker 2 Or I could just speak in our language. 1:02:57 Speaker 3 I know I am. I thought that might come up. Yeah. I just think I think Zach's team is not going to be as good as it was last year. I think some of that is going to start to show just in the age of his players. 1:03:16 I think obviously this year is going to be the favorite. I think this time next year we're going to have him in the top tier, but I don't think he's going to be a clear #1 And I know that sounds like not a lot of movement. 1:03:32 But after that, like you come to a decision where you either have to tear down your team or you have to try and just ride it out as much as you can. And I think we are in the last to maybe three seasons of seeing Zach be a top tier team here with this roster. 1:03:58 Obviously Zach is very active on waivers as well as with trades. So I think could be proactive with that, but we'll have to see what happens. I think he's insulated himself really well with his receivers though. He will always be competitive with his receivers and he wound up with the one O 3, which I didn't want to happen, which is why I traded it to Brady, who then traded it to Zach who got Colonel Tate. 1:04:31 I'm an Ohio State fan. I like Colonel Tate. He's also just Zach's like wide receiver 5. So that just feels kind of like the perfect like of course that happened. It was kind of like in 2024 when Zach I think he traded for a first round pick or just had like a random mid to high first round pick and just drafted Jaden Daniels at like the 104105 and then was able to flip him for Puk and Akua plus I think. 1:05:04 So all that to say, obviously Zach could not win the championship this year. There are a multitude of things that could happen. I think on paper there's not really a way you can say, yeah, that guy's not going to win. 1:05:24 Speaker 2 Yeah, Joel, what do you think? 1:05:26 Speaker 1 Yeah, this Zach is not anywhere close to falling off. Quarterbacks are insulated, Josh Allen and Mahomes wide receivers like like you were saying, Cardinal Tates is wide receiver 5 and he's got Trey McBride who is on the equal playing field with with Bowers, if not better. 1:05:47 So and he's also young. The only this you could potentially say is like, hey, this wires or this running back room is getting old. But it's like, dude, we've been saying that about Derrick Henry for years. Christian McCaffrey is still gonna be an absolute dog this year. 1:06:04 And OK, what's what's that? Can use his next 2 picks on you can grab a running back replacement who's going to be immediately impactful next year in each of the these drafts. So as long as he doesn't choose like a Caleb Johnson, he's going to be totally fine. 1:06:25 He's not going to need to rebuild, he'll just need to reload and running backs are easy to reload. Zach's going nowhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins another one, but then again like like you were saying, this is fantasy football. 1:06:43 Anything can happen any given week. It just takes 1 monster week out of anybody to knock out of the playoffs. 1:06:51 Speaker 2 Yeah, the story that you tell yourself as the rest of us is that he's got the oldest roster in the league is the average age of his roster is 27.6, which is over a year older than any other roster in the league. 1:07:07 And you tell yourself, we see a fall off from McCaffrey, Henry Dobbins and by McCaffrey and Dobbins, we we just see an injury because they're about every other year, one of them's going to go down to an injury. 1:07:27 I think that he is more vulnerable this year than any other year. And the issue is that Zach knows that. And so he's going to get he's going to sucker somebody into doing some trade that we're all going to be like, are we serious? Because he'll like dangle out his 110 for the next three years and then somebody will bite. 1:07:50 And that somebody's name could rhyme with Schmerady Roberts. And all of a sudden we're going to see Chase Brown on this roster as well, which if you add Chase Brown, not to speak this into existence, but I know the asking price. 1:08:06 And I think that it's very possible for Zach. Yeah, I think that we could see a three peat here. But I also, I can, I see the case where it doesn't happen. And especially over the next few years. 1:08:23 I am concerned about Pukanakua. I'm concerned about him getting a contract from the Rams. Really. I think so. I if they would have drafted Makai Lemon then I would have had even more concerns. 1:08:39 Since they didn't do that then I think they will give him the extension eventually. George Pickens won't be a cowboy, which I think is bad because him and Dak just have a mind meld. And then I think you've got a few, like I think you have rentals, one year rentals with A.J. 1:08:57 Brown and Mike Evans. But even still, it's like, all right, those are my he doesn't even need to play those players every week. 1:09:08 Speaker 1 Trade them to Tim. 1:09:11 Speaker 2 What I wouldn't do to have Tim trade for A.J. Brown. 1:09:15 Speaker 3 What I wouldn't do to have Tim trade. 1:09:18 Speaker 2 Amen, I. 1:09:19 Speaker 3 Shouldn't say that he traded with me to get me Makai lemon. I'm sorry Tim, I take it back, but that's your one free pass. Now I'm allowed to say whatever I want. I So here's the thing. I feel like I really know what I need to do to bolster my roster up to make it a younger, less like shown in solidified version of Zach's roster. 1:09:49 I just feel like, and maybe it's just the time of year, but it is hard to get people in the conversation. And I think a lot of the pieces that I have are not people who are scrolling through Sleeper because they're sickos or making podcasts because they're sickos. 1:10:13 So we'll see. I'm sure once September, October rolls around, there will be a lot more movement and also have a better pulse on my team. But for anyone listening who since I'm on this podcast right now, I don't know who's listening, but I will pay market price for very, very good players that you're willing to move and that's it. 1:10:46 Speaker 2 I also think for me, I've had a lot of trouble trying to craft trades this year because of the 27 draft. It's like everybody is trying to hold on to their their ones for 27. 1:11:05 And so it makes asking prices very difficult for certain players who I'm like, yeah, in a vacuum I'd probably give that player up for a first. 1:11:20 But with the hype that this draft class is bringing in, I don't want to be selling off all my picks. Like if, if I get a ton of injuries, then all of a sudden I'm in the Jeremiah Smith sweepstakes and I'm in the Arch Manning sweepstakes and I'm in the Dante Moore sweepstakes. 1:11:38 And so it's like it's really tough for me to be parting with firsts, which is rare for me because in the times before your arrival, Sam, I, I was well known for having no picks like 3 years out. 1:11:54 The reason why my, my, why my rebuilt build was built on this season is because three years ago I traded all my picks three years in a row and then I was just like, let's ride. And it got me exactly one title. 1:12:09 So. 1:12:11 Speaker 3 Hey, but a title's the title. 1:12:13 Speaker 2 Yep, nobody can take it away from me. 1:12:15 Speaker 1 Yeah, that's right, You're stroking his ego now. 1:12:18 Speaker 2 Hey, Joel, we have the same amount of titles, so. 1:12:22 Speaker 1 Yeah, whatever, whatever. 1:12:24 Speaker 2 I I have never lost by 100 plus points in a championship. 1:12:30 Speaker 1 How many title games have you been to? 1:12:32 Speaker 2 Well, that's irrelevant, but I've never lost by 100. Let's just say I have a I've never lost in a championship. 1:12:39 Speaker 1 Yeah, don't let me get. 1:12:41 Speaker 2 To the Championship. 1:12:42 Speaker 1 They drop. It's actually up like 100 or 209 points or something like that. It was like the third most ever in the league. That was a crazy, crazy week. I'm look, a loss is a loss whether it's by point O, 4 points or 104 points. 1:13:02 Speaker 2 Well, gentlemen, this was an absolute pleasure. Sam, thank you for getting on this podcast. 1:13:08 Speaker 1 Better late than never. 1:13:09 Speaker 2 Better late than for waking up at 8:30. 1:13:12 Speaker 3 Yes, you're welcome. And just sitting around until you guys really needed me on. 1:13:17 Speaker 1 Yeah, we needed you for sure. Thank you, Sir. This has been a pleasure, Sam. Who should we have? Join us for next pod. 1:13:28 Speaker 3 I think Brady, absolutely. I I. 1:13:33 Speaker 1 Would Brady join? 1:13:36 Speaker 3 That is the question. He might. 1:13:42 Speaker 2 Imagine Tim and Brady. Imagine. 1:13:47 Speaker 3 I would, I would love that. I would love to hear the thoughts of what is going on. 1:13:59 Speaker 2 That was being an electric episode. 1:14:01 Speaker 1 Let's make it happen. I'm throwing us all in a group chat right after this perfect good deal. I'm hitting stop please this is getting terrible.

Summary:

FAQs

Sam built an Excel spreadsheet grading each team's quarterbacks and running backs on a 0-10 scale, then assigned letter tiers (F, D, B, A) based on the total scores. He skipped grading wide receivers because he got bored.

The 2027 draft class is hyped for prospects like Jeremiah Smith, Arch Manning, and Dante Moore, so owners are hoarding their first-round picks and asking prices for trades have become very high.

It's a humorous phrase the hosts use to describe the New York Giants' roster vibe, comparing it to the failed Raiders experiment of bringing in an old coach and hoping talent works out—which didn't.

They believe Will will lose the tight end head-to-head matchup almost every week, as his tight ends (Kenyan Sadiq, Hunter Henry, Theo Johnson) are unlikely to score more than a few points, making it hard to compete in close games.

Sam's grading system gave Tim a perfect 10/10 for running backs, which boosted his overall score to 7.5/10, but the rest of Tim's roster graded poorly, landing him in the B tier.

Michael gets excited about Garrett Wilson's potential but then remembers that Frank Reich is the offensive coordinator, which kills his enthusiasm and prevents him from fully buying in.
