Goedemiddel. Today is a podcast on this whole matter of dying with Jesus or Jesus dying in your place. So from now on I'm going to divide most of my podcast into two categories. Maybe three. The one would be general teaching, doctrine theory, apostolic doctrine. The other one would be practical theology, such as this one. The third one would be revival theology. Now I became a charismatic and Stalin Bosch about 35 years ago and early show for her. Then there was a huge thing about revival, revival, revival. I think many people are still big on revival. Through all my years of Bible reading I have now discovered that revival was actually in every case just repentance. Repentance means you change your mind. You have to upgrade the theology of your denominations. It's very seldom that there are revivals that we see in the glorious records or the Wikipedia pages or actually all bad plans just work very well. It's usually not that. It is in 95% of the cases fresh revelation. It is in 95% of the cases God sends prophets, people like Martin Luther was a prophet. Jonathan Edwards was a prophet and they actually confront the doctrine of their denomination and they change it. They will inevitably not throw out everything but they will change something. Anyway, this one today is called Jesus did not substitute you on the cross. You also died. Now on the one hand you also died in seed form. It is something that you must enter into by grace through faith. It is something that you must understand. You are already seated with Christ in heavenly places but it doesn't look like that. You also are already dead to sin but it doesn't look like that either. So these are things that we grow into. We receive the fullness of Christ, the completed work of Jesus in seed form. That is why Jesus talks so much in parables of seed and life and growth, such as the parable of the Sower on which I speak a lot. So that we can yes the fullness of Christ, yes the completed work of Jesus but in your life some people will bear 30 fold, some will bear 60 fold and some will bear 100 fold. But many will be thorny ground Christians and they will bring no fruit to maturity. So when it comes to seated with Christ in heavenly places, their status is no fruit brought to maturity. And when it comes dead to sin and resurrected free from sin, their status also will be no fruit to maturity. Okay and that's still slightly better than the shallow ground which is simply just fallen away. So yeah, Jesus did not substitute you. So the important thing is that spectators of the cross go to hell. You have to partake in the cross by faith and baptism, you are baptized into Christ and you are therefore bodied to their death and bodied to their resurrection. That is the glorious reality of salvation. It also is a very simple and obvious understanding of the gospel. Okay, so let's start with Matthew 16 and Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take our peace cross and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it but he who loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" Okay. And then closely related to that, building on the same theme, Matthew 10 verse 34, Jesus speaking, "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth, I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother and a daughter in law against her mother in law. If a man's enemies will be those and a man's enemies will be those of his own household. Do you love father or mother? More than me is not worthy of me and you love son or daughter. More than me is not worthy of me. And you does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it but he who loses his life for my sake and for the kingdom will find it. Verse 14, "You receive me and you receive me, receives me, receives me. He who receives a profit in the name of a profit shall receive a profits reward." "He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous reward and who ever gives one of these little ones only a cup of water in the name of a disciple." Surely I say, "He shall by no means lose his reward." So it is very clear that the whole issue of taking up your cross is not optional, neither is it theoretical and it's also not legal. Now, "Our dear beloved brother Martin Luther and our other dear beloved brother John Calvin, they were lawyers before they got saved." And so when it comes to the issue of sin and salvation, they got, they took a legal angle on it and they regarded sin as a legal accusation and they approached theology in a way of legal court case to try and prove that the data is being canceled through the cross from a legal point of view. And this is often manifested as the doctrine of penal substitution, saying that Jesus was punished in your place. We will look at that slightly just now towards the end of this podcast. But if they had been doctors, they would have been much more inclined to see sin as a sickness, as a disease, and that you needed to be healed. You needed to be saved from cancer not forgiven. There would have been a much greater understanding that the organic inclusion into crucifixion and resurrection is critical for salvation. Now my dear beloved brother Ludwig said to me that one of the problems that you find in reform theology is there is no practical day to day matter of transformation. Reform guys are obsessed with the issue of justification and then they basically stop growing because you must just accept that Jesus is Lord and Savior. You must sort of acquiesce or just mental async to his death on the cross in that there is somehow accounted to you for righteousness even though you don't transform and you continue in your sin. Okay, I'm making it sound a little bit worse than it is, but there is that problem. And the thing is I'm speaking to Charismatics and I want us to repent of this rubbish way of thinking and understand that you were crucified dead on that cross and you were resurrected, new freed from sin with Jesus. But this is not on the one end of legal action and it is not also some theoretical, I feel that thing. It's something of which you put daily by baptism and faith. You were included on the cross and therefore you must now look dead and look resurrected and look free from sin. It's part of salvation. If it doesn't look right, it's not right. Okay, one John forces, if he do not be deceived, he practices righteousness is righteous. There is no theoretical righteousness. You must look righteous. You must do righteous. You must act righteously. The Bible says that clearly. One John, love a possible, by the way, Romans 6 verse 1. Okay, this is a profound portion and it explains that our relationship to Jesus, death on the cross is not that of spectator or that of somebody who has been substituted, but it is that of baptism. Somebody who has been included through the miraculous action of baptism, which is a work of God. Yes, we dunk each other in the pool of the yogate saved and come to the paintings. Christians will baptize you in a pool or in a dam or something. They'll dunk you in the water and that's very important. But baptism is a spiritual, ethereal, eternal process, a miracle work of God because it is how you unite you into Jesus and then you have been united into death and resurrection. And that is actually how salvation works. And that's why I say substitution is definitely a very ridiculous idea. It's not in the Bible. The word substitute doesn't stand in the Bible. At all this only one instance has got nothing to do with Jesus dying in your place. When a rugby player is substituted, then the one guy replaces the other one and the one becomes a spectator. Substitution means you're excluded. The Bible uses over and over and over again the language of baptism, which is the language of inclusion, which is how this works. Hallelujah. Roman 6 verse 1. Okay, what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not. How shall we who die to sin, postings, loving it any longer? So it's clearly referring to something that's true inside of you having been postings. Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death. Okay, baptism. When baptized mean you put something in. So if you want to kill a little kitten, then you put a little kitten into a plastic bag and then you kill the back by throwing it in the fire or driving over it with the fire. the truck or something and then the little kitten is there. Now that little kitten was you. God didn't actually want to kill Jesus because Jesus was innocent and perfect, but He did want to kill you because killing you is the only way to cut off your covenant with Adam and Satan and it's the only way to produce the raw material that's available for resurrection which is the new life in Jesus Christ. And that's why verse 3 is so critical. So do you not know that as many of us who are baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death. Strong language buried is only for dead people. The justice Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in the newness of life. For if we have been united together and that if you can translate it with sense. For since we have been united together in the likeness of His death. Certainly we shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. likeness in this case means it's the same. It doesn't mean look alike it means it is that thing. Knowing this important knowing this that our old man was crucified with Him that the body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves of sin for He who has died has been freed from sin. Okay this is really straightforward language. It's actually quite easy to understand especially if you are spiritual. If you are born again and the Spirit of God has become one spirit with your spirit he will be testifying that this is an exhilarating truth. He will also be testifying that this is where all the power sets. All the power of transformation and Christ likeness sets in this mechanism. Baptism into death and resurrection. Verse 7 for you has died has been freed from sin. Okay not Jesus in your place but you. Verse 8 now since we died with Christ we believe and believe means we have firm certainty. We have firm certainty that we shall also love with Him and that is once again not when Jesus returns it's your daily Christian living now. It's not good intentions but out of your psychological powers it is supernatural resurrection power of Jesus Christ by the sevenfolded Spirit of God. You cannot fake it. You can only submit to it and you all then be miraculously gloriously transformed. Hallelujah. Knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead dies no more. Okay. Death no longer has the minion over Jesus. Why I mean but it does imply it also has no dominion over you anymore. Verse 10 for the death he died he died to sins sin once for all but the life is away that he loves he loves to God. Zoey likewise you also reckon yourself to be dead indeed to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus so that reckon basically is closely related again to the issue of see and understand and believe. It's the Greek word look it's a my it's accounting term and it just basically means one plus one is two. Rekker yourself dead look it's a my which means set your mind on the fact that you are on that cross and you're dead to sin that's what he's saying yeah this is seriously cool so yes of course there's something that you must do you must set your mind on this fact and you must believe it and you must hold this before yourself before your eyes that's the word look it's my reckon yourself indeed to be dead around 611 therefore do not let sin reign in your body okay so there is a struggle so even though in seed form everything is done and dusted the practicality takes time the seed takes time to bear fruit in your life 36th or 100thfold and yeah it's not just one day or one week it's a process and so while Christ is in you perfect Christ dead and resurrected this is in your in the manifestation in the observation you are in the process because bearing 30fold takes time there is a process a time-based process I mean and that's why we teach him preaching prophesy and cast out demons and pray for the sick and everything else in F church meetings so that it's an opportunity and a good place for you to continuously grow into this. First 12 therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it's in its last so there is a verb does a vark word you must now not let sin reign in your mortal body so the implication is that even though you're born in your Christian you can infact let sin reign in your mortal body but this would be horrific sin it would be going directly against design mercy faith love so don't go there verse 13 and do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness to God okay there is a process of walking faith without works is dead there is a process of walking in this thing and as watch many points out so nicely when he does the analysis of the book of Ephesians sit walk stand the first two chapters of Ephesians is about being seated with Christ in heavenly places the second two chapters of Ephesians is about walking in Christ as you receive the Lord Jesus so walk in him so after you've been seated passively receiving joyfully now you start working actively engaging and betting that fruit but it has to come out of the reality of Christ just a quick aside do you know when a message is Christian as opposed to psychological when Adam cannot do it Adam can sing and tie the going missions there's a lot of stuff that Adam can do and him can even get baptized but what Adam cannot do is he can't stop singing so what Adam cannot do is worship God in spirit and truth he just can't do it because flesh cannot worship in spirit and truth so religion is when you preach psychological tricks and tips sort of a Christian niche religion it may be moralistic therapeutic daism or I don't know what but it is something that man can do Buddha shinto Hindu it's something man can do Christianity means it's something only Christ has done and we are baptized into it by faith that's the difference between preaching Christ or preaching about Christ or preaching moralism Old Testament morality trying to convince Adam to stop singing it's that's actually pretty easy as soon as you try and convince Adam to stop singing you're actually rejecting Christ and you are actually in grave danger beware it's very important that you understand when is a message Christian a message is Christian when Adam has been canceled a message is Christian when Adam has been crossed out a message is Christian when Adam cannot do it and is not welcome at the party okay but anything that Adam can do beware okay that's swine message is spiritual it must be out of Christ through Christ by Christ unto Christ I mean not by Adam for Christ no out of Adam for Christ no okay nothing you understand we're 13 and do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin I do have to now mention yeah that salvation is a completely supernatural out of body apocalyptic reality so there is that thing if you have not been born again like supernatural apocalyptic out of body zept alive then don't waste your time you must get zept alive you must be an alien your father is an alien by the way God God is an alien he's not a human right so I just want to mention this this is only for non-humans this this this sermon and this whole presentation is only for non-human because human means the Greek word for that is or the Hebrew word is Adam and it means mankind and mankind is the cursed enemy of God and I promise you not one will see the New Jerusalem not one out of this demonic concoction called Adam out of this demonic maze called mankind God is saving for himself something called Christian do not be deceived a Christian is not a panel beaded fixed up Adam you are no longer an Adamite you are now Christian and that means you have been supernaturally and apocolipically apocolipically zept alive it's called born again it's called begotten again it's it's called having your spirit become one spirit with God so the good news about Christianity it is about supernatural out of body apocoliptic truth left out inside of your body I mean we are still in these bodies and we do live in these bodies but the power that sets you free from sin and failure is not psychological tricks rearranging a dynamic behavior no okay verse 14 "For sin shall not have dominion over you for you or not under the law but under grace" and as I said yesterday that is a promise it's not an instruction verse 15 "What then shall we sin because we are not under the law under under grace" obviously not do you not know that to whom że m recall range dat te 80 doegproed op het te ter работ bleet waark exposure et feכשיו g Beide enna 500 tot earbuds줘 joh te enra dat jul zijn te tête bonagillовig een sleutel van een kie en een loolijsnis, tot een loolijsnis, dus nu presente de mensen een sleutel van een rachtijsnis voor de hoolijsnis. I just read that profoundly one portion of it being Roman 6. Het gebouw is niet gebruikt, maar het gebouw is gebruikt all the time, baptism means exactly the opposite of substitution, the one replaces the other, the one replacement, the other one includes, a word search in electronic bible finds only one aid for substitute, and it has nothing to do with Christ's cross, in the entire New King James Bible, the word substitute appears once, and it's got not the cross, not related to the cross. The cross is not about substitution, but about inclusion, baptised into, and also the cross has nothing to do with Roth or punishment, but much more it is focused on death, I mean, these are the words used, the word punish isn't used, I know some might get hysterical now, but if you have an electronic bible, go and search for instances where the word punish, specifically, punish is used in association with the cross, I tell you what, it's not death. Death and the nature, death to the nature, what God wants is death for us to the nature of Adam, that is the point of the cross, death, the point of the cross is death, not forgiveness. Okay, the origin of penal substitution, well on the one hand, yeah, a penal substitution is two origins, as it is mentioned, the bible is not one of them, okay, appeasing angry deities is a pagan tradition which was incorporated in the Roman Catholic doctrines, but also as an ab basis in scripture. Roman Catholics also had a doctrine called Christus Victor which it held that God had to buy the lost souls from the devil. The reformers didn't like the idea of buying from the devil, so they modified the concept saying that God had to buy the souls from himself, this is the way it is. Paying yourself for a death, somebody else ran up is a strange notion. When people start buying things from themselves, it's usually a tax evasion scheme, it's weird. Why attribute such a transaction to God, especially since the scriptures doesn't say? Okay, so why is this important? Because if you think that your guilty and Jesus was punished, then your sinful nature is still alive. You have to absolutely believe Roman VI and understand Roman VI, or just believe it in a mentalist saint, you have to understand that God in His great mercy baptised you into Jesus before He killed him, so that when Jesus died, you were inside of Him and that's why you are dead to sin. That's why you're cut off from Adam and you are now the raw material that God can use to form Christ, a new person called Christian. There are many instructions in the New Testament throughout the postoral epistles, etc. Ephesians, Colossians, Romans, all of that, Corinthians, for us how to now in the light of this resurrection, in the light of the fact that we are already dead to sin and we are already resurrected into the life of Christ. How do we now love this new Christian spiritual life? That is what the Bible is all about and these podcasts are aimed at helping, supporting, encouraging, ex-expositioning. Hallelujah! Amen.
