The NFL Week 8 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field is framed as a critical showdown between two teams struggling after recent losses. The Packers, coming off a tough defeat to the Lions and a shocking loss to the Buccaneers, face a weakened run game and injuries, especially with key players like Micah Parsons sidelined. The Panthers, though humiliated by Tampa, show signs of recovery, bolstered by a strong defense and the return of Josh Jacobs. Analysts highlight Bryce Young and Jordan Love as elite passers, leading to a bet on both throwing over 220 yards, driven by their consistent stats and the need for the Packers to run the ball. The week also features a major trade where the Chicago Bears acquire defensive end Jeffrey Simmons from the Titans for two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder, a move that dramatically boosts their defensive depth and shifts Super Bowl odds by 200 points. This trade contrasts with the Colts’ fire sale, where expiring contracts and poor team culture have led to significant roster losses, including DeForest Buckner and Quentin Nelson. The episode underscores how player value and team dynamics—especially leadership, accountability, and culture—are as crucial as statistics in determining success. With both teams battling injuries and rebuilding, the game is expected to be a high-intensity, unpredictable showdown that could reshape playoff trajectories in the NFC North.

Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our spooky, humble abode, the DraftKings Dugger Dome. On this NFL Week 8 kickoff Thursday, October 29, 2026, this program begins now. Football! What was that, Charlie? A little spooky stumble at the beginning, that's okay. We got Halloween right around the corner, and Knife is certainly great. It is October 29th, and what that means is Week 8 of the NFL season is going to kick off tonight. And it's not just kicking off in any stadium, no, no, no. It is kicking off at the historic Lambeau Field. Green Bay hosts the Carolina Panthers in an NFC battle. Packers favored by 3.5 at home, fresh off a loss to the Lions that could have gone either way. If Trace Mack, the kicker, makes a kick any moment in that game, they would have won. Instead, they have an L, they're looking to bounce back. And speaking of bounce back, the Carolina Panthers just got their absolute shit pushed in by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend. We have always said the Carolina Panthers. They're a good football team. Carolina Panthers are building in the right direction. Bryce Young, we love him. I appreciate him on college game day. I appreciate his story. I appreciate what he's become down there. But they just looked terrible last week. Will they be able to bounce back? So we've got a couple bounce back games here for two potential very good teams down the stretch. Will either of them end up making the playoffs? Yeah. Will both of them end up making the playoffs? Possibly. Or will one of them start their journey to a Lombardi tonight? On Thursday Night Football. Amazon Prime. Kirk Herbstreit will be joining us here in a matter of moments to tell us what he knows about the behind the scenes going on in these buildings at this exact moment. Week 8, 17 game schedule, 17 game season, 18 week season. We're moving right along here. We're in the thick of it and there is a lot happening around the league. To talk to the tables here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. Ty, quickly, how do you feel about the Packers coming off a loss, short week, maybe get the bad taste out of their mouth against Carolina Panthers? Or how are you viewing tonight's viewer experience for you as an owner of the Packers? Yeah, I feel pretty good. You know, I feel like they should have won last week. They should have beat the Lions. You know, what happens, happens. You kind of wipe that and move on. Um, you know, I mean, listen, the Panthers are a good football team, but I'm kind of framing it like if you can't beat the Panthers at home, like we don't deserve to talk about them, you know, making a deep run into the playoffs. I know they're banged up. Josh Jacobs is back. Uh, the defense has been playing really well. So I, the last time they played at Lambeau on Thursday night was against the Falcons when they got embarrassed. And that kind of started like the, oh boy. Oh no. This team absolutely stink. What's this season going to be like? So I also think, uh, the Brewers winning the world series, a lot of good mojo and just kind of momentum in the state of Wisconsin right now. So I'm hoping maybe that rubs off on the Packers a little bit as well. Coming off a loss. We'll definitely talk about the Milwaukee Brewers. What a night last night. That was so much fun to watch. Miz went absolutely crazy. Shout out to him and the Brewers do what the Brewers do. Just start rattling off runs as they put people on board. Skipper Murphy gets a title. Brewers win a world series and the Miz is a world champion. Yeah. Shout out to the Miz. Jacob Mizorowski being a world champion in 2026. That's certainly what we love. But back to what we were talking about, bouncing back after losses. Coming off a loss, Carolina is eight and two outright and 10 no against the spread since the start of last season. So can Allison and the lads seemingly have a good mental toughness? How are the Packers? We don't, we didn't get sent any Hembo stats about that. So I guess that's not worthy of a conversation. Packers have won a lot of games. Let's assume they're not losing multiple games in a row on a very regular basis either. Let's go to one half of the hammer. Damn. Cowboys. AP tone. Tone. What does the line look like tonight? What are people favoring? Oh, the people were favoring in the Packers on the three and a half as them as a favorite. I just looked it up. 60% are on the Packers against the spread over 70% on the money line for the Packers. That's not surprising after what the Panthers looked like last week and at home in Lambeau on prime time, you know, that normally favors that team this year. It hasn't, but the last week it did with the bears. So in this situation, you know, people are riding that as well. Okay. I liked that. Hey, you almost got choked up in the middle of that. Yeah. Yeah. The NFL season. Yeah. I didn't know it was a jelly bean. I thought it was just your emotions. Week eight of the NFL season. A fact is just jelly bean. I liked it. We're celebrating the holiday already. Yeah, exactly. I like this candy out. I like that. We've got these decorations cause it is a nice little spooky week here at the DraftKings Thunderdome as Halloween is a pretty notable day for this particular program. I assume tomorrow should be pretty outrageous. Yeah. Excited to see what you all do. Okay. Um, we dress it up. If you have any heads up on things that I should not dress. Up as I would like that piece of information before you go ahead and do that. Okay. In the past, I've thrown myself right into a conversation. I had no idea what's happening anywhere in the world. And then all of a sudden I get inside of it. It's like, Oh, not a good idea, man. I just bought this cause it was overnight. So if we have any of those, if we can certainly tell me, that'd be great. Shout out to Ram trucks. They're the best truck. Don a line. You put a bunch of trucks on a line, you go down the line, Ram trucks, the best one. Uh, so tomorrow should be a lot of fun. Excited for that. Excited for the Halloween. Excited for week eight. Having a great game to kick it off here on Thursday night football, a 37 year football coach, 18 in college, 19 in the NFL. Our coach coach McGowan is your coach, baby Charlie. All right, Charlie, you've been acid picking games, but can you tell us what it would be like if you were a coach who just had a loss? Like for the Packers, they shot themselves in the foot multiple times. Certainly should beat the lions. And then the Panthers just got run off the damn field. How would you be talking to your teams and which team you think is more excited to get this past game? Out of their minds basically, probably the Panthers, but thank God it's a short way because you can't wait to put the last one behind you. Talked about green Bay. They had their chances. Talked about the missed opportunities. Missed field goal. They just keep beating themselves, sins, self-inflicted negatives, right? Yup. They got to eliminate those things. I mean, it's, it's, it's unbelievable. You'll we good? Yeah. Okay. So the sins we can't. A little noise over here. It's not like Neil Brown right now. You don't need to be doing that. He's wearing a backpack for Texas. Yeah. So yeah, Carolina, they gave up 258 rushing yards to Bucky Irvin and that Tampa offense. They gotta be more than a static and they've given up 200 yard rushers like, uh, like, you know, tone gives away jelly beans here in the, in the underdog. I mean, they're flying all over the place. So three and three Panthers first place of the NFC shy. I mean, south. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty good. And green Bay's four and three in there and dead last and the NFC north tells you a little bit of how competitive the divisions are right now. So anybody's ball game, anything can happen. I don't like the fact that public money's on green Bay. I don't like the fact that all these ATS numbers favor the Panthers last time. These guys got me on the shy. Do you talk about how bad I am at picking games this year? Yeah. It started with these dudes. If you remember Lana going up there, right? Thursday night football. I was sitting right here. Well, he's only won once, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, he's only won once. He's only won once. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And, and, huh? Twice. Oh yeah. Last week you want to get. It's two and five. Yeah. So. No, I'm off. No, I'm off. Yeah. You're hot. Look. Now you're starting to complain about stats though. I don't really necessarily. Shut up. No, I took, I took the Packers. Ty talked me into it. And, uh, what they do. Don't put it on me. You're making the choice. They shite the bed. They laid an absolute egg against Michael Pennis and the Falcons. They shite the bed. They shite the bed. They shite the bed. They shite the bed. That's not his name. Come on, Charles. I think they're wondering, are we allowed to be proud of our team after what just happened with the Bucs? Is this a team we're allowed to believe that they're good? I think, yes, that's going to happen. We have a boost that'll be on Giraffe King's Sportsbook this evening. Every time we've rode with the quarterbacks, we've seemingly had success. We did a little self-scout. We did a little self-study. Bryce Young and Jordan Love to both have 220 pass yards. We like it. It's been boosted to plus 110. If you agree to gamble responsibly and not like an asshole, we'd love for you to come join us on the best sportsbook on earth, Giraffe Kings. You can get in on this. You don't have to opt in and then make the bet. Shout out to Giraffe Kings giving us this boost to plus 110, and shout out to Bryce Young and Jordan Love hopefully getting it done through the sky. Now, you look at the numbers, Carolina Panthers defense, to your point about Jelly Beans being tossed out, they can't stop the run. No. Okay? They can't stop the run. But also, if you look at the numbers, Packers can't run the rock, and they're on their third or fourth string center or something like that. Josh Jacobs is back from suspension. Who knows how many times he's getting the rock? If the Packers had a run game, this would probably be a rushing boost because of how bad the Carolina Panthers have been against the run. But instead, we think both Bryce Young and Jordan Love are going to have to do some magic, and we think they're going to throw for over 220, and we're team riding on this thing. Let's be responsible. Let's get another win, boys, because there's people like Max from part of my take right alongside of us. There's people out there that are saying we're doing every single one. There's people out there saying we are riding with you because you guys are getting the best boost because Giraffe Kings is giving us great. It's a great boost right now. So we need to go ahead and respect that, and we need to win, Tone Davis. Yeah, I got some numbers, too, 2-0 when we do the quarterbacks as a boost. Bryce Young is the number two quarterback in the entire NFL in passing yardage, I believe, 285 yards a game. Jordan Love is the number four quarterback in the NFL, 280 yards a game. So we've got two top five quarterbacks in yardage going over 220 plus. Yeah, I'd bet it responsibly, maybe. Yeah, but definitely responsibly. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. basis. So let's not be outrageous here. Let's do this responsibly, but let's get another win, Con Man. Yeah, I feel great about this one. I'm climbing the ladder on this one, actually. I'm going 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 270, 280. I'm going to go to 290, and guess what? I'm going to go to 300. This is a shootout, baby. I feel great about this one. Okay, I do as well. Responsibly as well. Joining us now is a man who's going to get to the bottom of another massive trade that happened this morning. There's a guy who's been a stud, a staple, a stallion of the Tennessee Titans. Felt like no matter what was happening for that team down in Nashville, he was going to be a part of it. Everybody that's ever been through the Tennessee Titans organization has respect for this man. We asked Coach Vrabel, Mike Vrabel, whenever he was down at the Tennessee Titans. We were on a golf course with him. We were very lucky to be at the American Century Championship or Classic? Championship. Golf tournament out in Tahoe. Everybody goes to him. I'm not good enough at golf to be there, but I did get a chance to enjoy it a couple times. We were in Vrabel's group, and Vrabel, oh, ha, meathead. Okay, that's what he is. Always will be. That's just kind of his calling card, almost. He's got huge mitts. He's very tough. We'll normally have an upper decker on both sides. He'll do it all. We understand who he is, what he is. I asked him if he thought he could beat up everybody on the Tennessee Titans still at his age. He said, everybody but Jeffrey. Jeffrey Simmons was the only guy that he said I couldn't beat up. Jeffrey Simmons has survived multiple GMs, multiple head coaches, multiple everything down there because everybody in the Tennessee Titans organization loves him. Well, for two ones and a fourth, alongside a fifth, he is now a member of the Chicago Bears, and I think it took so much draft capital because how much the Tennessee Titans organization, how much the city loves Jeffrey Simmons, but I can't help but think to myself, we just traded the Forrest Buckner of the San Francisco 49ers for a fourth-round pick. Two ones and a four for Jeffrey Simmons to the Chicago Bears, and allegedly the Chicago Bears were trying to get the Forrest Buckner until it was deemed that the Buckner family wanted to go back to San Francisco. Joining us now, to kind of get to the bottom of all this, DeForest Buckner is three years older than Jeffrey Simmons. Jeffrey Simmons has, I think, a couple more All-Pros already, and Pro Bowls. Younger. But, yeah, three years. Jeffrey Simmons has a deal in place until 2030, but that's like one of the highest in the league. $105 million coming to him over the next three years. DeForest Buckner doesn't have a deal passed this year, but I think the per-game sack rate, Buckner has more. I think Buckner has more sacks, obviously. He's played more games, but I think if you were to do it in. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, and Jeffrey Simmons is a game-wrecker. He'll block a kick. He'll beat double-team. He is a phenomenal football player. If I was a Chicago Bears fan, I'd be very excited about getting Jeffrey Simmons onto that team, especially with what you guys needed, but I'm just wondering, as a Colts fan. Junior. Fourth round. Two ones and a four? Ladies and gentlemen, junior NFL insider Ian Rappaport. Rappaport! Help me wrap my mind around what's bucking going on right now in this trade war. Jeffrey Simmons, we are incredibly happy for him. He's going to a contender. He's one of the best football players in the league. Everybody respects him. Everybody loves him. He's a monster. The stats have come out about him against double-teams and what he's been able to do. He's great. He'll also block a punt and a kick for you, because he has a never-ending motor. Everything you want from a guy, he is. Two ones and a four for Simmons and a fifth. How do we get to this point, and when did we know that Chicago Bears were interested in Jeffrey Simmons? I'll start with the second part. You mentioned Chicago Bears were in on DeForest Buckner. They were basically looking all across their defensive front, looking at edges, probably still looking at edges, and looking at defensive tackles as well. When it became clear that it was going to be only the 49ers for DeForest Buckner, then the Bears simply pivoted. Now, they've been calling around anyway. They've been working the phones a lot. Ryan Poles has been very, very active. And for Simmons, the answer was always like, no, no. This is like, you know, face of the franchise. I mean, it sounds like it was a really emotional day for Simmons as well. Himself, today, he signed believing he was going to be a member of the Tennessee Titans for life. I mean, these things are hard to get over, and if you're the Chicago Bears, you wonder why the draft capital is so much. This is what it took to trade for him. Because if you're the Titans, you say no, no, no, and then, well, maybe that we would consider. And that's kind of how you got here. And, you know, credit to Ryan Poles for continuing to push. You know, him and Mike Borgonzi worked together in Kansas City and knew each other well. Probably know how each of them value this player. This is what it took to trade him. And so Jeffrey Simmons goes from the Titans to the Bears. The Bears are already Super Bowl contenders big time. This is where you win. This helps tremendously. There's something about, like, you're worth what you're worth. Your value is determined publicly at some point. It's not in theory. It's in actuality. What it took to get the deal done was this for Jeffrey Simmons. Now, congrats to the Bears. Now, you're out a lot of picks, but you're in a win right now. Let's wait. He might be the piece that makes you be Super Bowl. The odds move 200 points for the Chicago Bears to win the Super Bowl. Goes from, like, plus 1,200 to plus 1,000 or plus 1,400 to plus 1,200. So it's plus 1,400. Are they favorites now? Oh, there it is right there on the thing. No, banged up Niners still favorites. Plus 1,400 to plus 1,200. 200 points of movement for a D-tackle is gigantic. It's a gigantic swing by the sportsbooks. It's massive respect by the sportsbooks to him. But I think it's also recognizing a huge hole that the Bears potentially had on a roster that could go on a run. So sportsbooks taking into account all those things as they're moving the odds for them to win the Super Bowl is real. That's a gigantic move. And also, I think Shefty reported, like, that's the biggest hole for interior defense alignment since 1967 or something like that. And Jeffrey Simmons is certainly worthy of that conversation. We can't wait to watch him. Now, can we talk about the Buckner piece of this whole thing? Because I'm a paying season ticket holder for the Indianapolis Colts, and I'm watching a fire sale happen, and I'm being told by people we can't get a one for Jonathan Taylor. Okay? He's got two ones and a fourth for Jeffrey Simmons, and I'm being told we can't get a one for Jonathan Taylor somehow. And Buckner goes for a fourth rounder, okay? And then for Quentin Nelson, he goes for a third and a fifth rounder. Quentin Nelson, first ballot Hall of Famer, I think everybody's saying, especially if he goes on to have success. I'm sure. Buckner's stats, if you were to look at him, and if he's to win a Super Bowl with the Niners here a couple times, I think they would be in the conversation piece for that. And somehow, we don't get shit. So, is Ed Dawes, the head of personnel, assistant general manager, potentially getting worked by these people because he's a lame duck person in the position that he's in? Or, were the Bears potentially very in on Buckner and then, like, not this much in, but better than a fourth, I would assume, for DeForest Buckner if this is what they were willing to give up to get Jeffrey Simmons? Not that Jeffrey Simmons isn't younger. Three years, he is younger. He does have more All-Pros, and his stats against double-team and what they need is good. But if you look at a lot of stats, DeForest Buckner also having a potential Hall of Fame career in real time as well, and he's three years older than Jeffrey Simmons. So there is, you know, some comparables there. But the Bears were going to move for DeForest Buckner, and then Buckner told the Indianapolis Colts, Carly Ursae, Gordon, hey, I will only go to San Francisco. And then John Lynch knows that's true, too, on the other side of that. So, is that a reality that is actually happening there? And they kind of get forced into a deal that is not really good for your side for a multitude of reasons, but it is good for a guy that we all love and care about, DeForest Buckner and his family? Like, how do you kind of tell that story? Yeah, so, first of all, I don't believe the Colts took less from the 49ers than they would have gotten for the Bears. Like, that would be irresponsible. I think what they probably did was tell the 49ers, like, we got, not probably, we got, I know they did, we got another team, it's got to be this. And that's how the 49ers wanted to give a five, the Colts wanted to get a three, it ended up meeting in the middle as a four, because they had another team, which was the Bears. Right? So, I do think that, you know, the value was kind of maximized. As far as why, your question seems to be really, like, why didn't the Colts get more? Right? And part of the reason is because both of these guys, both DeForest Buckner and Quentin Nelson, are on expiring contracts. And so, if you're a team, like, basically, you're trading for a rental because you don't know if you're going to re-sign these guys after. So, like, that brings down the value because, it's like, well, I'm not going to trade a two for Quentin Nelson, and then he leaves after only nine games, and it's like, what did we do that for? Right? So, the rental kind of brings down the price. Okay, pause. Can I pause you there? No problem. Jeffrey Simmons just literally just got paid $105 million, top of the market, for his position. So, if Buckner wanted to negotiate a new deal with him, if it was less than $30 million a year, which it probably would be, the Bears would be getting a better trade contractually than what Jeffrey Simmons literally just signed for in this entire thing. Yes. So, I don't think that's, like, a comparable thing in this particular. Quentin Nelson, definitely. I understand that. But for. Simmons got a huge signing bonus, though, and so he's only getting paid $7 million this year, and the other years are, like, not reasonable, but it's reasonable. So, when a player is, like, locked in. When a player is locked in financially, that makes it more attractive to trade for, is basically what I'm saying. What, Tom Pelissero's - I was about to send you a text saying, Was that Tom Pellicera? It was not Tom Pellicera. Tom Pellicera is out there doing it right now. Tom Pellicera is out there. He's out there rolling. He did say some things that, you know, got us all into an interesting conversation that none of us really should have ever been into, I guess. But he is breaking right now, a man who's done a lot for the NFL. Rep, okay, so since it's an expiring contract and he's on paper until 2030 and a lot of the money had been paid by the Tennessee Titans, he obviously much more desirable than DeForest Buckner. Yes, and also he is a great player. And so the value of trades is always interesting to me because it's like, you know, I mean, everyone's asking today, it's like, how do they get, like, first of all, how do the Bears get them? And then it's like, wow, like two ones, is he really worth that? And the answer is always you're just worth what someone is willing to pay for you, right? And so, like, last year with the Sauce Gardner trade, which I'm sure you were thrilled about, he cost two ones because that's the only way the Jets would have traded him. And so, like, you don't know for sure. It's always a little bit of poker. Like, the Jets could say that and at some point you have the decision, we're just not going to do the deal or, all right, fine, we'll do it. And obviously, like, in this case, the Bears were like, we want Simmons bad enough that we are going to pay two ones and more to get this guy. And the argument from the Bears case is not just, you get a great deal. You get a great player, you know, under a cost-controlled contract. But it's also like, let's say that Jeffrey Simmons ensures that the Bears are good, which I think they're going to be good anyway. Okay, well, then basically they traded the number, like, you know, 25th to 32nd pick two years in a row. Like, that's not as good value as, let's say, you know, the pick that the Jets have of the Colts right now is probably going to be a top five. Okay. One last shot there. Yeah, I heard it. I heard it. One last shot there. Okay, so I shouldn't be worrying. I'm worried that people are just going to kill the Colts in every negotiation because Ed Dodds is sitting there as a potential lame duck general manager and teams know that if the player just goes to, you know, and says, hey, we're not going anywhere else, like, that's it. I think he's done fine. And I will say, it's hard when people know you're selling. It's hard when people know you're selling. Because then it's like, obviously you're going to trade this guy. But he had markets for both of these guys. Yeah, but markets, but only really one home for Buck, right? And John Lynch definitely knew that. That's where it gets complicated. I agree. Yeah. And it's like, yeah. I mean, if you're sitting on the other end of a deal, then you know that the person is telling the people, I'm only coming to you. So it doesn't matter if you have 10 teams that are involved, especially if the team says, you know what, we're going to stand by our guy. We're going to do what's right for you. Not necessarily our team that is in a full, you know, fire situation for maybe the next five years as an organization, because everything that's currently happening and everything that has happened over the last couple of years. It's just, I'm happy Buck's back there. But boy, this happening, this close to when that deal takes place for the same exact position with the same exact team, with same exact type of Hall of Fame players, a little bit younger. I understand three years younger is a huge deal. But DeForest Buckner, outside of this neck injury, has played basically every single, it's just, whoo, crazy times. Okay, who's going next? Chef texted you there, you said. Who's going next? Is there going to be more moves today? I don't know. Trades come together when they come together. But I think, I'll tell you this. One thing that we've learned is players can be traded whenever. Like, if you look at, like, this year we've had a trade, like, at 10.30 on a Thursday. We had a trade on a Wednesday. Had a random trade on a Monday, which was JJ McCarthy. Today on a Thursday morning, like, teams at this point do not care. Like, they trade whenever. So, could a trade be coming today? Like, sure. And I think what happens is, Bears make this trade, and then, let's say, you're competing against the Bears, or you're in the market for a player, you're like, why would we not just do our thing now? So, yeah, I mean, I would say phone lines are pretty hot. There's plenty of trades being discussed. Love that the phones are alive and active. Last question here, let's talk about tonight. Go ahead, Ty. Yeah, Rapshi, do you have any indication on, like, the injury status for both teams tonight? I know Matthew Golden, you know, was questionable and maybe didn't practice. Probably didn't practice earlier in the week. Probably played. Right. Golden probably plays. What about the Panthers and the rest of the Packers as well? I would say Jalen Phillips, we know, is out. That's obviously a big one. The rest of the Packers, hold on, I'd have to look at my list. I've been thinking of other things this morning. But Golden was kind of the big one I was tracking. And then, obviously, the other big Packer news, which is Micah Parsons probably practices next week, which doesn't help tonight, but probably helps eventually. Okay. Very good. I like this stuff. Fascinating. You know, week 12, maybe, we get him back. No, it sounds like it's going to be earlier. He's only going to practice for one week, and then he's going to play? That's right. Run him out there. Get him out there. All right. You're the man, Junior. We appreciate you. Ladies and gentlemen, it's Ian Rapoport. Joining us now is a man that's going to be on the call for Thursday Night Football. He's also the face of College Game Day and College Football Prime Time for ESPN and ABC. An absolute legend, former president of Ohio. Ladies and gentlemen, Kirk Herbstreit. Yay, Herbstreit! Yay! Herbo! How we doing? You got Farvo right over your shoulder there, eh? In the middle of some real football history over there in Green Bay. Big time. Lambeau right here. Favre. Reggie White. Desmond Howard right here on the wall. Wow. Yeah, this is awesome. Love coming here. Yeah, this is the second time this season. We talked about the first time whenever Atlanta came up and did their thing. This week feels a little different for the Packers. They shot themselves in the foot. Kicker a couple times. A couple times last week with Trace Mack. He's getting another opportunity. I don't think he can miss another kick this season. He probably knows that. And then the Panthers on the other side, they just got absolutely smacked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a division game. What's the mindset behind both these squads, you think, as we head into another fantastic Thursday Night Football game? Well, you know, I think Green Bay's an interesting situation right now. I mean, Jacobs is back for his second game. And I'm sure Ty could tell you if you guys watched him. I mean, he made a great play out of the backfield to score that second game. He scored that touchdown. But, you know, you could tell he was just kind of working his way back. I think he'll get a lot more opportunities tonight. They've got to run the football. Carolina's one of these defenses from that Fangio scheme where they do a really good job of preventing the big plays. They're going to put a lot of the safeties back and keep everything in front. Top five defense as far as not giving up explosive plays through the air. And so it puts a lot on eight, and especially this offensive line. I mean, this offensive line has been depleted all year. It's one thing after another. Last week, I think one of the more impressive things I've seen is John Williams, who's never played center. I mean, even in college, he was at Cincinnati. He was a left tackle. This guy comes in. They went to their third center in that game alone. And he didn't miss a beat. And, you know, in fact, I asked Matt yesterday, I go, could this guy, could this be his new position, possibly being a center? And he said, could be. I mean, they were blown away by how, how poised he played, especially against that defensive line with McNeil, Hutch, everything they have on that D-line, on the road, in that environment. Not only were the snaps good, but he handled passing off some games and twists. And so he's going to go tonight at center. And, you know, I think overall, this team's got to be able to run the ball. I mean, Matt LaFleur's offense is based on their ability to run the football and to put Jordan Love in more favorable play-action situations. And right now, he's got to be able to run the ball. Right now, really, these first seven weeks, it's been nothing out of the running game. They're dead last in the league, which is very unusual to see those Packers uniforms not have that ability to run the ball. And it's been all on Jordan Love. And he's been hit like 52 times. I think it's the most in the league. Without a roughing call, by the way, I should throw in, because they get a lot called against their defense. I think they have eight, a couple that were really terrible last week in their game. And yet, their own quarterback's been beat. And beaten up and hadn't gotten any calls. So, I think, to me, because of this, not only do they play a defense that is going to force them to run the ball, they've just got to get that running game going and kind of get the continuity up front going. So, I think that's a big part of it. Carolina's coming off a horrendous game, as you guys know, against Tampa. They have four games that they've been playing good ball. And they opened up with Chicago week one, just really, really bad game. And then last week against Buffalo. Bucky Irving and Bake coming back. I think Bake threw it like 11 times the whole game. They just ran the ball down their throats. And Carolina, it was a game that got away from them, turning the ball over on offense and couldn't tackle Bucky Irving. And before you know it, with those turnovers, I mean, I think it was like 33-6 at half. I mean, the game was over. And so, no team has ever wanted a short week and a Thursday night as bad as Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers. So, I think they're an improved team. I think that they've got some injuries of their own that they're dealing with. You just heard Ian mention that Jalen Phillips is down. And so, you know, that's a concern. But I think overall, it's a team that is much more capable than how they played a week ago. Bryce Young, we hit him on game day a few weeks ago. It's amazing where he was two years ago and where Dave Canales has gotten him by building the offense around him. They got a lot better weapons with TMAC, kind of leading the way. And they've got a great tight end room. And I think it'll be a good game. tough one to kind of feel like usually these thursday nights you kind of have a feel which way it might go we the dogs have been howling on thursday nights this year yes and i don't know i just i have no idea uh to feel this one out because of the the way carolina's been up and down and kind of unpredictable yeah and you talk about bryce young how he's playing now versus two years ago he's second in the league in pass yards he's averaging 285 a game okay so he is spinning it we're hoping he goes for at least 220 alongside jordan love here we go i in rap sheet he also said that uh golden more than likely up which is good for the green bay packers and jordan love you would assume i don't want you to have to give away any behind the scenes conversations that you've had but that is what junior nfl insider rap sheet has been saying so maybe a little bit more healthier than we could have imagined this particular game in your eyes yeah yeah i think so um yeah put you on the spot overall yeah yeah because you've been told yeah i mean i i like this game i think it's going to be a good game i think it's going to be a good game i think it's i like these uh these numbers you guys are always throwing out on and you don't get greedy you know you're not you're not you don't try how'd last week go by the way we hit it started it started bad i'm gonna let you know i started a little slow did not think it was gonna go but then we got there the final two minutes when um caleb drove down and scored a touchdown and then drake got all those yards on the dump off to remandre for the touchdown yeah that really huge for us yeah we were uh it was a little cardiac situation but we'll get back in there we'll we'll ride again 220 past yards 220 is the number yeah okay okay i i you know i i think a lot of that is gonna have to be yak tonight a lot of this is gonna i don't think you're gonna see unless these teams can run the football i think you're gonna find a lot of the underneath and yards after the catch um you know guys slipping tackles and josh jacob's tough to tackle yeah screen yeah oh yeah absolutely absolutely technically absolutely absolutely absolutely absolutely absolutely absolutely absolutely yeah and they're massive i mean look at their receivers and their tight ends i mean they're i think they average like six four i mean they they are they're a big group um but jonathan gannett's defense first three weeks 30 points a game after that atlanta game on thursday night since then they have shut things down only 13 points a game in the last four games so i and that's without micah parsons that's with edgar and cooper out for the year with the achilles i just think they've you know the younger players are starting to play better i think they're understanding the scheme they're disguising a lot better they just seem to be a lot more connected and so it'll be a good challenge uh for bryce young and i don't know if that helps you with yeah yeah you should have held that one in there i don't like any uh i don't like any thoughts that could potentially counter that's what we're saying everybody gamble responsibly please trade responsibly but we are team riding alongside the quarterbacks both getting over 220 okay let's pick up the game and we'll see you away from this game tonight let's talk a little bit about the nfl it's trade season i don't know if you've been seeing it uh colts are in a fire sale jeffrey simmons just went to the chicago bears i think you're a huge fan of the chicago bears from my understanding if i remember if i recall probably uh they go from plus 1400 plus 1200 super bowl odds this morning after trading for jeffrey simmons you live down in nashville this man was a pillar of the titans and a pillar of the city i think everybody in the city loved this man everybody in titan's organization loved this man to see him get traded wild but the bears make a huge difference in the game huge move on a thursday morning kirk herb street boy how about the nfc north so much fun and the way this thing is going to go the rest of the year with not only the trades but just getting guys like micah parsons back the second half of the season for the packers and now this trade i mean this guy you're right living in nashville jeffrey simmons as this franchise has struggled the one silver lining year after year is his play and he brings an attitude i mean you put him in the middle of that defense you get montez sweat back from that two game suspension that defense aligned with dennis allen they're already playing well now you throw this big man in the into the middle of that defense um it's going to be filthy to see what they're going to be able to do and how they're going to be able to intimidate people because he's a presence i mean he can you leave him isolated one-on-one you're done so he's gonna that's a it's a big deal and i think for the titans who have a new stadium opening up next year i think it just kind of shows you where they are i mean for you to let go of jeffrey simmons and again they pick up a 27 and 28 um and i think a fourth rounder in 27 so you can tell they're stockpiling and and and almost punting on the season and kind of like the colts are maybe there's something going on in the afc south but um you know the titans are a long way away from competing and they need draft picks and 80 players it's one of those teams like the colts it's not just one area there's a lot of areas so um it i guess from the titan standpoint as much as it you hate to see a great player like jeffrey simmons and i think it's going to be a big deal and i think it's going to be a big deal jeffrey simmons go it does make sense because that you know they're not going anywhere right now with a new stadium and they're trying to create a buzz and excitement uh for that city and that franchise you get you got to make some moves and uh wish jeffrey simmons all the best he's going to kill it in chicago should be a lot of fun to see what he does in that dennis allen scheme i um how are you holding up with the cold well that's just the way you were talking about the titans and the colts just he kept saying the same team yeah that's what he kept saying like every literally and they just beat him us. And since then, we've fired and traded everybody since we lost to the Titans. But everything. What's your breakdown on the Colts? Everything you said there is very valid. And the fact that that's where we're at right now at Week 8 is a little bit heartbreaking. But the difference between us and the Titans is we've paid everybody. We've paid everybody. Like, we paid all these guys. We paid DeForest Buckner big. We paid Quentin Nelson big. They're on expiring contracts. We chose not to pay them again. We did choose. We paid Alec Pierce big. We paid Daniel Jones big. We paid secondary big. We paid running back big. Two ones. We paid two ones for our corner. Alec's not been on the field yet. I mean, we have. To say we're in the same position as the Titans is just crazy to think about. But we are. Because the amount of money that has been invested into the roster and the amount of time that has been invested into the roster and everything like that. Where did it go wrong? Everywhere. You know where it went wrong? Nope. Andrew Luck. I mean, that's where it got bad. Yeah. But I mean, in the last three years, where did it go wrong? I think it was a culture thing. Can't have that many good players. Look how many players other teams are like, yep, give it to us, give it to us, give it to us. Good players. You got a lot of good players. Just for some reason, I've been winning, so you have to go to the culture, I think. I think there was a pretty big lack of accountability in there. I think, from my understanding, just from outside looking in, I said this multiple years ago. I didn't really have a good relationship with this particular. I mean, equipment managers, trainers, front-off, owner, everything like that. I'm still good. I'm still good. I'm still good. But the actual team people, I don't think they necessarily appreciated me pointing out everything that I thought was potentially happening years ago. And that's just strictly because I had a chance to watch the best building operate. I was going to say, your culture when you were there was championship caliber, so you're comparing it to that. That's how I got dropped into the NFL, is watching Peyton Manning lead a building, pretty much, with Bill Polian in there and everybody that we had. So, I mean, I was very fortunate to watch a master at work. Now, I wish I could have seen Bill and Tom, work as well. I wish I could have got to experience the way that was, as a punter who has a front-row seat to basically everything. Got a chance to watch the last time we won the AFC South, whenever Chuck and Griggs were building and how that went. I feel like I've seen a lot. I've seen almost a completely defeated season, almost a completely undefeated season. I've seen two different operations, a very old school. I've seen a young one. I've seen people clash. I've seen people get along. I've seen a rebuild. I've seen a full rebuild. I've seen. I feel like I was very lucky during my career to get to see what I see. And I have a pretty good sense of feel, I think, on buildings and teams. I think that's a pretty big part of who I am. I think that'll go down later in life. And just whenever you start seeing or hearing things that are very synonymous with losers, it's hard not to just be like, hey, how you do anything is how you do everything. This is the highest level of competition. So, if you've got people missing stuff and they're not being held accountable for it, it's like, well, if you see. Who's that. Honestly, I'm dead serious. Is that fall on the head coach? Who's that fall on? I think that's carried through multiple head coaches now at this particular thing. I think Chris Ballard really lacked his gas. I think he wanted it to be a player-led organization. I think he wanted the players to kind of police themselves. I think he wanted the locker room to be like that. I think that is how Chris Ballard kind of wished that his team would go. And then for some reason, whatever it was, with the amount of turnover probably at the quarterback position, which is your natural leader, I think there was a lot of people that maybe didn't want to do it. And then, you know, just for one reason, or another, people start missing team meetings that are pretty important players. People start missing treatments. People start missing, like, workouts. People stop caring. Like, it just. All those things kind of just lead into a culture of, like, who cares? And if you have that culture, you're never going to beat, like, the Seahawks. You're never going to beat. No. Bill Belichick, whenever he was running. You're never going to beat these teams whenever you have to in the playoffs. It was almost, like, evident, you know? So that's why whenever Danny Dimes got in there and they're like, hey, this guy works his ass off. He'll have a beer with the boys as well. He'll kind of lead by example and gets in there. Like, and the stories we were hearing had hope. When Matt Ryan got in there, stories were hearing, we had hope that there was leadership in the building. And then, inevitably, I think it just. We got. We come too far. And it just got to a point where it was never going to be salvageable. Because it's like Shane Steichen. I like Shane Steichen. Like, I really like Shane Steichen. I think if Shane Steichen leaves the Colts, he becomes offense coordinator for a team that's in the playoffs, probably going on to the entire thing. So it's like if Shane Steichen inherit this type of culture, And he just kind of had to fit in because it was the first time being a head coach and he was thankful for the job. like that's all you know i don't i think that's my issue coach pagano has been in the building i guess you would be a better person to ask why do you think a team with so much talent so much investment so many contracts so much similarity why do you think they never really had success what would you say it is you don't have to out anybody right now exactly but i just i look at other examples so i look at what's going on herbie right now guys in new york john harbaugh and the giants you know if you don't hold people accountable like we saw what happened with scatabo right it's a great you know example of okay you're not doing things the way we're supposed to do them you fumble whatever it is right there's a standard and so there's got to be consequences if there's not consequences then you're just going to get the same behavior over and over and over again so he made a decision he sat him down then he comes back look what he does you know they go on the road they go to houston they win a win a huge overtime game down there you know they win a huge overtime game down there and they win a huge overtime game down there they're on their by they're four two and one he's totally flipped that i worked for the guy so he was never afraid to hold anybody accountable the first team meeting we had you know one of the all-stars on the defense is sitting low in his chair and he said sit up and a guy moved about an inch and he kicked him out of the meeting this is a hall of fame player in 2008 okay the guy told me after my first individual drill when he first hired me back 2008 that's the worst endo i've ever seen in my life i wanted to fight the guy you know and i said i didn't think it was that no i was that was and what did i do i got my shit tightened up you know by a lot so he's not you can't be afraid but it's got to be it's got to start with the head coach and then your leaders you know your your leaders on that team they got to be able to have uncomfortable conversations with their teammates you know i saw ray i saw these guys go around put a hand over the guy's shoulder and say look cuz this ain't getting it we need you to do this this and this and all this other stuff outside of here uh-uh you got six months to do all that stuff but right now you're going to do it this way and those and a lot of times those coaches in those environments that create that culture they don't have to but they got to create it and they got to get the leaders to go ahead and and and hold each other accountable when that happens then then you make magic but listen to this herbie quentin nelson quiet guy one of our best players jonathan taylor i don't think he's a big loud speaking guy quiet guy deforest buckner i don't i don't think he's like a super we have like all of our good players great players we're like more introverted kind of quiet guys so i think then who becomes the you know and it's i think they never had that and with the turnover to quarterback position who's your natural what this guy says even even danny dimes is kind of a quiet guy when he had it rolling there he's kind of a more reserved guy um i think that's where it that's that's great insight and i chuck i i really appreciate you saying i give an example because what john harbaugh's done in new york i mean new york's been struggling there for a while you know a lot of those are the same players and i know they've they even had quarterback issue in the middle of their season i think for fans what you just described i think all of us sometimes underestimate the power of that you know we watch nfl football we just think these guys are elite and that you know the whoever has the best players is going to going to win all the games but you just talked about what you and pat was both talked about about the culture and how some coaches have that ability to create that i i think that's fascinating the the the grind of a 17 game season the ups and the downs the adversity that you face how you get through it how you stay together that that all goes back to what the head coach creates and for you to use an example of a guy who's a pro bowler all pro guys sitting down and he didn't he didn't respond the way he wanted him to and he said you know get your ass out of here i mean i i think people that that blows me away that the the great coaches have the ability to do that i don't think every coach by the way can do that to a pro bowl player i i don't i don't know how you earn that i guess it's maybe longevity and winning how do you earn that not to cut you off but the one thing i was going to add was connection so connection and and accountability got to be two huge things you know when building a culture and one thing that john can do is he can connect he builds relationships so when he stepped in that building he started like when i got there in 08 he was right and when i came into interviewing and signed a contract in 08 he was writing handwritten notes and letters to the whole team because the team's gone right when you get these jobs they're not in the building so he said he and and he's got uh one for uh for mccallister you know he's doing mccall hey you want to say something to you know chris mccallister he says starting corner for us right you want to say so i put yeah jot this down for him you know blah blah blah but he connected see because you can't approach these guys and you can't get after them unless you have a connection you know they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care right we heard saban say that a lot dick for meal i heard that at a clinic a thousand years ago so you build a connection you build a relationship you let these guys know you love them that you'll die for them but they're also hey look i'm going to tell you when you're doing good but i'm also going to hold you accountable and i'm going to do it the right way and when i need to call you in the office and have a man-to-man i'm going to do i'm not going to do in front of your peers you do in front of peers you're going to have a fistfight on your hands you know so he knows exactly build that relationship hold those do it the right way and then you see the results you can get i i think the guy i think right now the guy that's another example that is mike mcdonald oh yeah a thousand he's another guy that's really learned a great job of who he learned from of loving on his guys pouring into him and though he cares about him more than just football players john harbaugh john harbaugh yeah makes sense with that the harbaugh family tree growing to mcdonald in seattle is something that doesn't get talked about much jets john harbaugh's coaching tree there is mcdonald in there yeah uh i hard knocks this year because i loved watching mcdonald i loved watching mcdonald that that was i think you mentioned that in the game i really enjoyed watching his leadership style because he's kind of reserved but he will oh yeah and he will chirp right back in and there will be a little bit of uh alphaing with the guys which he wants and then he you know the relationship with them so strong they show the meeting with all the leaders in the thing it's like that is a guy who gets it and i think he told i forget who he told me in an interview he said sometime has he ever been on the show no okay so it wasn't with us i was listening to him maybe in hard knocks then i don't know i i was listening to him talk and he said he had to tell the guys his first year as a head coach like hey i'm not the best public speaker communicator so like you're gonna have to work with me here as i get through like very transparent about what he's good at what he's not good at took feedback from them but i don't think the always like, hey, this is kind of the way we're going to do it. What a phenomenal coach so quickly. And I think he wasn't necessarily like super comfortable in the position early. And he's just been kind of figuring it out as he goes. And the boys have respected him for that. Pat, I totally agree. And I think use the word transparent. You know, instead of feeling like you have to be the guy with all the answers, that you're just real, you're authentic, whatever that is. Andy Reid is just Andy Reid. For better or for worse, he's Andy Reid. You know, I think the guys that figure it out are comfortable in their own skin. And it allows the players to look at them not as like, I'm the coach, you're the player. There's a time where I'm the coach and you're the player. But a lot of the other times, they're collaborating. You know, they're working with the players and communicating. Look at it. I mean, that's their leadership council. They're just hanging out in the coach's office. I mean, look, he's not by himself. And everyone else is sitting. He's in the circle with them. I just think, like you said, he's kind of like, I'm kind of, I don't know if he used the word. Like, I don't know what word he used. Like, I'm not the coolest guy or whatever he said. But he's like, he's just very real in who he is. And I think the players love that about him, that he doesn't hide from that. He just accepts, like, this is what I am. And, you know, and anyway, that's fascinating stuff. Yeah, it definitely is. Leadership is a crazy thing. Building a team, a successful team, is a very difficult task. Which is why there's so much turnover at the highest levels and any level. Winning is not easy in team sports. You've got to get everybody on the same page. It's a lot of psychology. Obviously, it's a lot of athleticism. It's a lot of strategy. It's a lot of brain. And whenever you mix that all up and you got it right, you can win championships. McDonald's proved that he can do that. John Schneider has proved he can do that as well at general manager. What a nice tag team those two are. Especially with their personalities now that we know them a little bit more at this point. Ty and Schneider had a three-hour affair together during league meetings out in Arizona. Shout out to you guys being best of friends. I'm excited you both remember all of that conversation together. But they bring in Quentin Nelson, who we think is perfect for their culture after watching Hard Knocks. And then Jeffrey Simmons goes to the Bears this morning, both from the AFC South. These two guys have run into each other a lot. Guess where they start at? Monday Night Football against each other. I mean, that is Seahawks-Bears on Monday night is potentially where we see. We see the debut of both these guys. What about some familiarity amongst. Hey, you know who you're playing? Your first one? Oh, the hardest guy I play every single week. Great. I got out of the AFC South and now that's what Nelson is saying. And Jeffrey Simmons is saying, great. We just got to. I got to take on a perennial all-pro who knows my every single move at this point on Monday Night Football. Hey, that's what I'm saying, though. So many good players on these really bad teams. That's what we kind of see in these trade deadlines. The teams that can get it all rolling. It's a tough task. Let's talk about. Let's talk about that in another sport. Milwaukee Brewers, bro. Congratulations to them. You came on this show, okay? You came on this show and kind of patted. a little bit about the state of baseball. You didn't like what baseball was doing. We're taking the athleticism out of it. We're taking baseball out of it. All we're trying to do is throw the ball fast, get a couple guys in there that can do that, and we're trying to hit home runs. Game over. Wow, we put in a pitch clock. That's cool. But now we've completely lost what baseball is. Then as the 162-game season went on and the playoffs went on, we all were quickly seeing that what you were talking about, the old-school baseball, was winning baseball. Milwaukee Brewers kind of defined that, I think, from my understanding of everybody that's been talking about this all year. And Skipper Murphy, he's got the boys bought in on what they need to do entirely. And I think – I don't want to speak for you. I assume you're very happy with the two teams that made it to the World Series and incredibly happy for the Milwaukee Brewers winning their first World Series. I tip my cap. Well said, Pat. And, you know, as an old-school baseball guy, how can you not appreciate the way the Milwaukee Brewers play the game? I mean, you talk about in this era of big contracts, Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, here comes, like you said, two teams that – the Brewers have almost become the new Cardinals, really, in baseball because of their consistency. I mean, even when they don't win at all, they're usually right in the mix. They have a great organization, phenomenal job. That Skipper, I mean, he sounds like a guy – talking about leadership and a guy you want to play for, he certainly comes across as that kind of guy. But Milwaukee well-deserved. They've been close. They've run into the Dodgers usually where the Dodgers are just so good and hitting on all cylinders. It's tough to overcome. But led by that man right there, they just had a great year, stayed healthy, and fun to see them finally get it done. They've been close. I remember going way back to the Robin Yount era and Ben Ogilvie and Cecil Cooper. So it was cool to see them finally get their World Series. And Tampa Bay, man, they're like the little engine that could, right? I mean, they got the worst facility in all baseball and one of the lowest payrolls every single year, and yet – They always make it to the postseason and somehow always seem to be competitive. So was it a flamboyant World Series? But the best team in baseball got it done. I was happy for Milwaukee. Yeah. Hey, congratulations to the Brewers. A couple friends of the program. I think we'll be talking to a few of them here over the next couple days, maybe into next week. Incredibly happy for them. And now we all just hold our breath and hope that another baseball season happens. Yeah, it doesn't look like it. Well, so we don't need to get into it. We're not the people. We're the people that should be talking about it. But I think what has happened over the season and then even the federal fraud case against the Dodgers, all that would kind of bode very well for the players, this part of this entire thing. But I don't think MLB is just necessarily going to just give up, you know, on everything to try to create a floor and a cap like every other professional league has that is successful at this stage of life and society. I think they're going to – And the players are like, why? We just had our best ratings. You said it. We just had best baseball that we've had. You have said this. More people are interested in two teams that don't spend and defer fraud money are the ones that make it to the World Series. It feels like baseball is still baseball. You'll have the big juggernauts still that will bring the stars and sell out stadiums and maybe be on primetime. And then the rest of the league still has a chance to win it like we've been able to show. So I think that's going to be quite a standoff, Herbie. I think we're even more in trouble now for negotiations than we were whenever the Dodgers – You're all out in here on MLB, huh? I'm telling you, I've been paying attention this year. They've been very nice to us. MLB has been very nice and hospitable to us. They've let us into everything. They've told us everything. And then the MLB players, from our understanding, and this is a little narcissistic, I apologize for this, but they all watch our shit. I guess whenever they get into the clubhouse, it's like when we're on. So we are in, I think, every single clubhouse or most clubhouses. Even the Spanish-speaking guys know who we are, and they don't even know what the hell we say every single day. So I have – And I have a – I'm a pretty curious person. I think people would say that. I've enjoyed learning about why baseball is a great sport as opposed to just viewing it as a guy from Pittsburgh who watched the Pirates make people miserable for a long time and seemingly stole money, you know, as they were going all their – outside of Jason Kendall. Jason Kendall was the only guy, really. And I appreciate him and his service. So it's been fun to learn about the sport, but it's also got a lot of shit happening around it that's also been enjoyable for daily sports talk. But I like the sport now, Herbie. I do. Good, good. To your point, I enjoyed watching Terrain go crazy. I enjoyed watching, like, a tough at bat where you just kind of get on base and you celebrate that as opposed to not pulling a home run. Like, to your point about what baseball is, I've really fallen in love with the intricacies, if you will. That's the beauty of it. That's the beauty of it is when you see a guy fight one off and, you know, he's a left-handed bat and he fights off a slider and hits it over the shortstop in the short left field and gets a base hit. I mean – That's the part of the game that you fall in love with, you know, the strategy and the athletic ability. And like I said, I mean, you go back to a guy like Tony Gwynn, Rod Carew, those kind of guys that were just great baseball players, you know. And the Brewers were representative of that. They had a lot of guys who were just scrappy ballplayers that never – you know, that's not my team, but really cool to watch them win in the style in which they did. And dominating fashion all the way through. I mean, nobody – Nobody really hung in there with them. So, like I said, best team in baseball. It's cool to see them finally get that trophy in Milwaukee. I think they lost two games throughout the entirety of the postseason. So, I'd say pretty good. I'd say pretty good. Now, do they win game four if they send Miz out there in the bottom of the 12th, you know, just to get three outs after they take the lead in extra innings? If Jacob Mizorowski was able to get warmed up in, I don't know, what, seven minutes? Yeah. To go throw it 103 a few times, you know? Potentially blow his elbow out and have to have Tommy Johnson. After the year and, you know. Yeah, yeah. Let's say that's not real. Let's say that's not a possibility. They could have won in four, I think a lot of people would say. Instead, get the job done in five in the World Series. What a time. Ty, do you agree with everything that Herbie's saying? And did you see Skipper Murphy took quite a shot at the New York Yankees immediately afterwards to one of his guys? Now, I don't think he was looking for a microphone so the world would hear that. I think he was just trying to talk to his guy who's potentially up for a contract and just trying to recruit him back. Remember this feeling whenever you're negotiating what you got going on? But how do you feel? How about the Brewers winning? And how do you feel about what Herbie said at the beginning of the season about what baseball has become versus what the season actually ended up being? Yeah, no, I mean, I agree wholeheartedly because that, unfortunately, is how the Yankees play. And that's why it's so frustrating when you see a team like the Brewers and as someone who has played baseball their whole life and has watched baseball their whole life, like you understand that this is an aspect of it. And I agree with Herbie. Like, that's what you fall in love with is like the ninth guy in the order who no one expects anything out of, or at least the casual fan. And just back. Battles and battles and battles and battles with guys on base and then shoots one the other way. And it's like, God damn, that guy is an absolute, that guy's a ball player. You know, that's really all that needs to be said. So I love seeing the Brewers winning like their fans too. It's just nice having some fresh blood, you know, especially when all these other sports like, you know, it kind of stinks every year being like, oh, well, it's either going to be the Dodgers or the Yankees or one, you know, that takes a lot out of it if you're not a fan of those respective teams. So seeing. A couple of teams who, you know, most people probably don't want to see there because they don't have a lot of the, you know, like the, the star power and all that kind of stuff, but they play the game the right way. And it's a perfect encapsulation of what baseball should be in terms of the, you know, Pat Murphy stuff. I think a lot of people don't realize too, that Jake Bowers used to play for the Yankees. So like, that's, that's part of that too. And he's right. You know, you have this kind of run in the post season, like that dude who has had his story is remarkable. He was in, like, you know, really struggling through the minors for a large chunk of his career. I think he was in the minors for like seven years. And then like, this has kind of been his first opportunity to, to really shine. He takes it and runs with him. And like, you know, Skipper Murphy said, like you're going to make a lot of fucking money, you know, but just remember when, you know, you sign with a team like the Yankees, like, and you're on a horse shit team. Remember like the way that you played here and that's what wins. And no, that was tongue in cheek. He's obviously not looking to start some big controversies. Just, he's just having a moment with one of his guys who is about to, you know, his life changed last night, which is pretty sweet. So no, I, I loved everything Herbie said. Great season. I hope we have another one next year. Kind of speaking to that and moving to a different sport, Herbie, when you look at college football, I think, you know, one of the things we love about the 12 team format is that it does ostensibly give multiple different teams, the opportunity to go win a national championship, even though a lot of times it is the same four teams, you know, kind of, who have a shot to win in the end. But this year, it seems like every single week we have five to 10 top 25 teams getting beat at where we stand right now. How many teams do you think realistically have a chance to win a national championship? I think you could go down into the teens. When you, when you look at the top 25 that, you know, I think LSU is way down there. You know, if they get, it sounds like they're getting healthier weeks is going to be coming back and green, the tight end is already back. It's wide open, man. I mean, you could go down there and, and make a case for Oklahoma state in the big 12, you know, I mean, Arizona, who knows? It just depends on who's able to stay healthy and, and who starts to play their best football. That that's what, to your point about 12 teams. I think that's what is so cool about it is it is here. We are in the last getting into the last week of October and we're getting ready for another month or so of regular season college football. And you still got all these teams that have hopes of getting some guys back healthy and trying to get it going. And, and, they're still in the mix. a loss right now and even two losses and feel like if you're in one of these powerful conferences hey man why not us you know let's let's let's finish strong let's win these last four or five weeks and and give ourselves a chance at a conference championship and and we're in you know so you know i think you look at the odds realistically it's like you said you come back to georgia notre dame ohio state miami those kind of teams but we thought the same thing last year and then indiana got hot i mean who what's to say bob chesney and ucla i mean look at their schedule look at uk's schedule um you know they they both have a chance i think to get into the postseason ucla especially with what they're doing right now and the schedule that they have they'll probably be favored in most of the games that they have remaining uh how cool would that be to get ucla who's never even a thought about getting into the postseason and and i'm not saying they have an easy walk but they they got games that are that are winnable here it is nevada you here's the schedule right here for you yeah yeah nevada going to minnesota would be tricky illinois at home uh going to michigan is you know even though michigan's not having a great year it's still a tough game and then a rivalry game against usc i mean they still got a grind to get through but i i think they get to 10 and 2 there's a there's a strong chance that uh that the bruins could be in there which again no nobody and they don't even have nico they're out there doing it with with defense and running the football which is just fascinating to me that you if we would have said in august at a ucla has a chance to get to 10 and 2 you're thinking wow nico's probably having a heisman year and it's it's has nothing to do with it you know and uh bob chesney we were talking about this pat and i and and the rest of the game day guys we're talking about first year head coaches you start to go down the line of people that are in the top teams that are in the top 25 look look at some of these first year head coaches that are just doing incredible work in their first year uh of leading their teams what will stein has done uh in lexington uh wake forests you know we're seeing them make a great run oklahoma state in their first year so it's been uh it's been an exciting year and uh it's only kind of setting ourselves up for an awesome november and december check we got us in here just throwing his hands you can't say boise one of those don't sleep on boise i mean let's go no no no we never sleep on the blue turf the football x you better beat oregon state at home coach you better beat oregon state we got texas state first because i want to know this week stay focused he's on a sideline down and gentlemen aj hawk hawk hawk ako on nights like tonight when the ako on nights like tonight when the the Packers are in Lambeau in prime time against the Panthers in a must-win game. You know, can't lose back-to-back games in four days if you're the Packers. Does it not make you want to strap it back up? Will you watch this game tonight with pads on and a helmet on? How do you kind of view yourself as a viewer of this evening's Packers game against the Panthers? No, I think I'm far enough removed where I'm not sitting there watching in my full pads, like helmet and shoulder pads. I guess I never really did that, even when I was only a couple months done from playing football. But you know what, no disrespect to anybody that wants to do that, but I know Chuck's given a little bit of his thoughts, but I don't know if he's going to sway me. I'm feeling in a certain direction for this game tonight, and I think it's a good time for, I think Josh Jacobs is going to have a good night. Okay, Josh Jacobs is going to have a good night because Carolina Panthers can't stop the damn run. Is that what everybody's thinking? Well, can the Packers block for the damn run? I guess that would be the question, Chuck Pagano. Can a team that is the worst in the league at running get a running back who's good but hasn't been? In game shape or playing shape, and in a four-day period, go from 11 rushes to maybe 20 to 25 rushes, and have that be a big piece of the offense. Is that something the Packers will be trying to do? Do you think it's possible with the offensive line they have? How do you kind of view what the Packers are going to try to do? I think they have to. 11 carries, 10 or 11 carries in the first game back last week, a loss to Detroit. You'd be crazy not to. You've got the 32nd-ranked rush defense coming to town. Short week. They had to travel. You didn't. You got your running back. Let's knock some people out. Let's knock some people off the damn line of scrimmage and get this cat going, because then it's going to open up. Because Ezra, EJ, he's going to come in and say, OK, you guys can't run the ball. You average 50 yards a game. V, not a Z. I think it's Evro. I think it's Evro. Evro, yeah. You called him Ezro. Sorry, EJ. Sorry. What's that? What did we say? What did you say, bitch? I'm sure he's Shea Ezra. I'll do that every once in a while. I'll just kind of blend the letters. It just happens. We just run pairs. But they'd be crazy. So he's going to play too high, like Kirk talked about, right, and keep Watson and Golden and Tucker, all these guys, right, from hitting explosives on them and play a light box. OK, you're going to play a light box? Then I'm going to hand it to this dude, all right, and see if you can stop it. So I sure hope they run the ball, because he'll have to put somebody down, and then we can feast on the outside. Remember, Carolina's secondary is beat to crap. They're missing dudes. They ain't got a great secondary right now. JC Horn's on IR. I don't like that. If you're a Panthers, you don't like that. But I do like it for a boost tonight. AJ, how do you feel about the team ride this evening? 220 pass yards. After what I just heard Chuck say, it sounds like the Packers are going to want to run the ball. Hopefully Jordan Love's still able to open it up. Maybe a couple swing passes to Josh Jacobs. Maybe a little couple screens to Josh Jacobs. Maybe a couple little under routes to Josh Jacobs. And then maybe you get Golden running across and Watson running across. And all of a sudden, that cover two has got you a little bit dancing. They're on different levels. And we're out the gate 220, maybe on four passes. How do you feel? How about that? Bryce Young is second in the NFL in pass yards this season, 285, the average is, per game. How do we feel about the team ride tonight, A.J.? If you don't like it, just act like you lost connection. No, so I actually really enjoy this. Like, I'm all for this. I think tonight it's going to be a beautiful, like, Halloween-y night in Lambeau, beautiful, crisp fall night. I think they're going to be letting it fly. I said that about the Packers running the ball. I just think they're going to be committed to the run. I think they're going to want to get Jacobs going, so we're going to see him. They're going to feed him, hopefully, early. But he's going to catch a couple screen passes, get, you know, oh, here we go, 45-yard screen pass he takes. Things like that, I think, will easily get us over this. A.J., you've been doing something for us as we've been chit-chatting with Kirk Herbstreit about tonight. And gamble responsibly if you want to join us on DraftKings, the best sportsbook on earth. It's coast-to-coast. It's available. That is our boost. We're appreciative of it as we move on. You were keeping us updated as we were live on the WNBA Finals game happening down there in Atlanta. I do believe Atlanta has a double-digit lead right now. Really? Yeah, they've been on a bit of a run here as the Atlanta Dream have been taking on the Valkyries. Usher's in the building down there, and he's saying, you remind me of a girl that I wanted. He's not talking about a championship, because that could be won by the Valkyries today in the afternoon. Instead, it feels like the Atlanta Dream might be extending it. In the back, there's been a lot of scrambling. I don't know if we have any of the highlights. We're tied up right now. What? We've got a couple of guests on the line here. Oh, okay. Well, joining us. Oh. You mean tied up. You guys are tied up, like, technologically, not the game is tied up. Sorry, yeah. We may have a champion on the line here soon. Oh, really? I didn't know that was the case. There's a game on. Holy hell. There is, Bruce. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now live from a bus, I do believe is the entire Milwaukee Brewers, Bryce Terang, Trevor McGill. Wow. Hey! Hey, I love that your first thought after winning the World Series is to point at somebody in the stands and seemingly motherfuck them. You're the best, dude. Congratulations. No, no, no, no. I was waving at my family. That was for my wife and my daughter. Okay, okay, okay. I'm happy we cleared that. I promise. Hey, how was it mentally last night trying to clinch a World Series, brother? Obviously, a lot of big-time pitches in your life whenever you go in as a closer. You get a chance now to win the World Series. What did it feel like before the final out? What did it feel like before the final inning? It felt calm, you know. This is everything we worked for this year. I know, I know. We had all the confidence in the world going into that ninth. I had a great defense behind me, and it couldn't happen any better that Terang was the one to catch that ball. Yeah, tell me a little bit about Terang. I watched him get like four straight outs, I think, in game four. He looks like a magician with a glove. He's won the platinum glove, but he's not the only one. It feels like your entire team. Our gold gloves. Can you tell me why your culture is the way it is, and why doesn't every team do what you guys do? Everybody on this, he puts their body on the line every single day, and that's the standard we have here in Milwaukee. That's why, man. Tell me about Skipper Murphy a little bit. He talked a little bit of shit about the Yankees in an off-camera moment that everybody has talked about. He doesn't do handshakes whenever the intro is. He feels terrible, Pat. He feels terrible. Does he really? He always. Oh, no, they cut him off. The Yankees, this is the Yankees. All guys at some point. Oh, no, go ahead. What'd you say? Trevor, we lost you. I couldn't hear you. What's that, Pat? We lost you. We lost you whenever you said he feels terrible. I think you're. Yeah, I'm sure he'll apologize to Cashman and all the people over there. You know, he genuinely feels terrible about it. Okay, let's go back in time before this game. You guys lose in the bottom of the 12th, which none of us could have expected. You go to a game five. Brewers fans still pack that place out. Miz on the bump. What is the convo from Skipper Murphy to you guys about getting the job done? Was it any different than, like, regular season games? How do you kind of view those types of nights? No, you know, after game four, Yelly got everybody together, reminded everybody this thing's hard for a reason. You know, just gave us the peace of mind, go home, get some sleep, come back the next day, and that's what we did. You know, offense banged. They did their job. It was sick. It was sick. All right, congrats on winning the World Series. Please tell the boys we said we appreciate the run they just went on out there. You can tell them right now, man. Boys! Yeah! Yeah, boys! Yeah! All right, a lot of waters, fellas. Yeah! Hey, tell, hey, real quick. Hey, Miguel. Hey, could you tell, I know you speak a little bit of Spanish. Can you tell Contreras, fuck you for the World Baseball Classic? But congratulations on the World Series. Hey, Latinos, this is for you. This is for gay, for me. The Latino. Que lo gay. Que lo gay dicen. Hey. Que lo gay, que lo gay, que lo gay. Hey, que lo gay, okay, yeah, que lo gay, que lo gay. Hey, can you tell Contreras, please? I didn't like what happened in the World Baseball Classic. Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hola, mi amigo. Hey, I know you. Yeah, yeah, you do. Do you remember? Yeah, I do remember. Do you remember? Hey, congrats, dude. Thank you, man, I appreciate it. Yeah, World Baseball Classic and the World Series in the same year, pretty impressive. Everything, everything, I tell you everything about this year, really good year. Enjoy it all, you've earned it, brother. Thank you, man, good to see you guys. Hey, hey, hey, can I ask you one last question? One last question for Bill, please. Hey, we got Commissioner Gordon right here. That's our Commissioner. Sure. Yeah, okay, all right. Hey, can you give me back to Bill Contreras, please, real quick? Sorry, what? Can you give me back to Contreras real quick, please? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, he needs you again. Hey, mi amigo, mi amigo, Gringo here. Hey, Gringo here. Hey, I know you speak a lot better English than you were putting off on the stage, so let's just do this real quick. Hey, the ABS thing, you became a real weapon for the ABS. What was it? Did you have a good feel for it all season or just in the playoffs? Magic. I did magic. I feel like I have all the balls, like I control everything during the series. I'm really glad to have all the success. All right, sweet, yeah. Hey, muchas gracias, mi amigo. Okay, yeah, everybody's like, see you, dude, you're the best. Okay, hey, McGill, thank you for that. Congrats, you guys. Enjoy all this, brother. Of course. Have a good one. Cheers, guys. See you soon, Milwaukee. Hey, congrats, cheers. Hell yeah. That's World Series champions, Milwaukee Brewers. Yeah. That's hilarious. That was awesome. That was great. Yeah, they were losing. They were losing their mind in the back back there. Oh, yeah. They're like, ah. Still boozed up. Hey, can you please get the WNBA highlights in? Here's me and Contreras before the World Baseball Classic as he hit. He just hit one in BP off the LED board in the back. And I said, we don't need that. And he turns around and goes, all night, or something like that. And then in the eighth or ninth inning, when they're about to win it, he stares me down from the dugout and just starts going ponche at me with where I was sitting, an incredible character, incredible moxie. And that Brewers team, I think, utilized all of it from all of their roster. And what a win for them, man. Yeah. Nice game. Those boys are having a good time. Yeah. Yeah, and they should, because they should. That's awesome to see. Que le que? Like, what's up? What's going on? Que le que? I need to start doing that a little bit more. Que lo que? Que lo que? Que lo que? What the what? Tone the Spanish speaker? I'm just finding that out now. He is fluent, yeah. Yeah. My Spanish name in high school was Paz. That means peace. Tony Paz. Yeah. Shout out Senor Alex. Antonio Paz. You don't speak Italian? Huh? How about Italian? They don't offer it. I just speak that fluently from birth, brother. It was very interesting. You woke up speaking it. I'd love to hear that. You came in, said, "grazie" to your dad. I don't like to do it on air. Yeah, I understand. But it is weird that they didn't have Italian in plum. That feels like a bad neighborhood. I don't want to spread that language. But it's already-- True. I mean, literally, every other student-- maybe two out of three students walking into those doors are Italian. Yeah. You would think the Italian-- Italian language. I think they thought that it would go farther in life with Spanish. Spanish, I understand. French, I don't get at all. Yeah, I took French. I haven't really been able to use it yet. I was in Morocco that one time. They called me fat. There you go. Two countries have it. Called me gross. And I heard him say some other stuff. Je comprends. And I was Je m'appelle Yum-Yum. My name was Yum-Yum in high school. Shout out. Shout out to Mademoiselle something. It was great. Good times. All right. Let's pivot away. Let's pivot away from baseball, I guess, and the WNBA. Talking about titles here. I was going to say, can we get another update? Wow. I see the update on the ticker. It's 44 to 19, Atlanta Dream. Oh, jeez. Oh, jeez. 9:30 AM tip-off. We knew that was going to be a problem. Nice scheduling. Wow. Jesus. Charlie. That's Anglestone football, Chuck. My name's Anglebert. And allegedly, the WWE had opened up some availabilities as well. It feels like-- here's a live look as the Atlanta Dreamer, 46 to 21. It is 1:20. 22 Eastern time. It is currently the second quarter. Only a few minutes left here on USA E and Sci-Fi. This is for it all. World championship on the line. If the Valkyrie were to get a win, they would take home the title in the afternoon. Instead, the Atlanta Dream continue to be dominant on defense aside. I assume Angel Reese is back to scoring a bunch of points. Is this going to become a real series? We find out at about 2:00 PM Eastern time today on if it extends or if the Valkyries are champs. Shout out to the WNBA. It's only a matter of time for the favorite win. Cut away as soon as a deep three. It could be the 5-0 run. It was a miss. It was a miss. What? It was a miss. the other way they are walking the ball down the court time out now for the atlanta dream as there's two minutes and 31 seconds left before half up 20. all right um joining us now this man is going to talk about a championship this weekend that's happening game seven maybe we don't know that's tbd there is a big time championship for the big time horses this weekend oh ladies and be chit-chatting about some of the stories around the nhl horse owner friend of the program they call him big horno ladies and gentlemen eric johnson what's up boys what a beauty yeah horno how we doing big yeah yeah yeah well you'd be a jockey and a horse that'd be a first time for everything if you were riding yourself out there a horse on a horse of course uh big one this weekend with the breed oh it is you horno oh got the hat on hey great to see you happy hockey season happy breeders cup weekend can you tell me a little bit about the breeders cup every year whenever we talk about this we realize these are the actual fastest horses on earth they're the more mature horses kentucky derby is like two-year-olds this is three-year-olds and older can you tell me what we should expect and how excited you are for this particular race do you have any ponies in there i do not but i'm a sick degenerate gambler responsibly of course thank you it is it's the it's the best gambling it's the best horse racing they have the breeders cup classic on saturday richest race in north america seven million dollar purse so tomorrow it's future stars friday those will be like the uh those will be like the derby horses next year so they're two-year-olds this year so those will be derby horses next year but just the keeneland is like the augusta of horse racing as far as the track and the experience lexington is fantastic so i know you guys are busy with college football this weekend but tune in if you can it's going to be an awesome weekend you got it these are the fastest horses in the world i guess there's uh a japanese horse uh forever young oh it wants to be forever young that's the favorite a lot of people saying fastest horse in the world and then there's two former derby winners racing in the breeders cup which for the first time in forever as well right horno yeah i want to do a little buy sell hold with the breeders cup classic so sovereignty kentucky derby winner two years ago golden tempo kentucky derby winner this year and then i'm gonna buy a knights bridge he hasn't really beaten a ton of tough competition but i'm gonna buy on knights bridge i'm gonna sell on golden tempo and i'm kind of gonna hold on sovereignty so those would kind of be the middle of the road horses and then forever young is going to be the favorite so for me my pick's going to be knights bridge but a little buy sell hold there but i think forever young is going to be really tough but if you want a little value i'd go knights bridge i think he's got the speed to wire him the entire field so we'll see what happens okay so are some of these horses late bloomers for instance forever young not in the kentucky derby was in kentucky derby didn't win in kentucky derby then becomes a much faster adult horse how do we get to this point of breeders cup not having derby winners in it every single year this is the first time there's been two derby winners competing in the breeders cup since when bruce brown 1991. you would think that'd be every time right fast horse is fast horse if it continues to race it continues to race these horses just develop differently or how's it work correct me if i'm wrong but i think forever young just lost by a head or a nose in the kentucky derby to mystic dan and sierra leone i think he did i could be wrong but forever young these japanese horses so what's happened over the last 20 years you guys is japan has come over and maybe even in the last 20 years it's come over and maybe even longer than that they've bought a ton of american blood stock breeding stock females and they've imported them and exported them out into japan and bred them to their stallions there so they've taken a lot of american bloodlines moved them over to japan bred them to their stallions and they've had a ton of success in the breeders cup so forever young is he was a good younger horse he's an even better older horse now so he's going to be tough to beat in the classic but i mean it's an absolutely loaded field you guys it's going to be freaking awesome forever young came in at the derby by a length i believe is the proper term to describe that uh tomorrow the future stars saturday the breeders cup what time and where can we watch all this horno do you know yes sir nbc peacock uh breeder's cup has a great streaming service twin spires draft kings all these places you can bet you can watch and um it's just gonna be awesome so tune in on peacock nbc all weekend long and i'll be there representing i can't wait it's it's a fantastic show they put on so if you guys get a get a minute um definitely tune in and there's a couple hockey ties in tomorrow too jack hughes hughes the the horse is uh the favorite in the juvenile and uh coach pope we got a basketball tie too in the juveniles so we got some sports ties all over the place and it should be awesome i can't wait hughes uh is good horse all right horno i appreciate that you uh horn out a horse there you know got it what would you be would you be a juvenile or are you an old horse ready to kind of uh jog your way around the augusta of horse racing i'd be a gelding no no testicles that's that's just the facts i mean that's uh yeah that's you had the option to choose anything could have been a style could have been a clydesdale too so i'm not a racer i'm more just like a chiller bud uh budweiser commercial instead you said give me the one with no testicles why is that why is that the one that's uh most relatable to you well you know if you're a stallion there's someone that deals with you called the entering man and i don't want the entering man near me i understand yeah the entering man's helping out a lot of businesses they actually took the entering man it sounds like uh over to japan and and helped out with some american value we appreciate you horno okay let's talk a little hockey shall we horse put the horse aside yeah switching to put the horse into the stable put the helmet on get the pocket on yeah and let's let the lettuce flow here for the hockey talk a lot of drama halliback traded larkin wants traded feels abnormal for hockey is this louder than it's ever been to start an nhl season with guys in places that they're at a hundred hundred percent like you've seen all these superstars ask out of their current markets hellebuck wanted out larkin still wants out he's stuck in detroit brady kachuk left ottawa and you know we talked about this a couple weeks ago before the home opener excuse me the season opener and you know i don't think this is exclusive to guys wanting out of canadian markets with kachuk and hellebuck like if those teams were contenders those guys would stay put so you know the other thing is these guys won the olympic gold medal for team usa they came back to their canadian markets and their fans booed them when the national anthem was playing so like you know you do things like that and i feel like guys are going to feel a little bit slighted and then they want it out and and that's kind of where we're at now we'll see what happens with larkin in detroit but um you know status quo there for now but yeah it's been noisy and there's been there's been a lot of drama for sure aj has a question for you horno yeah horno don't look now but the blue jackets have won three out of their last five they're really turning around they take on the canes uh tonight i believe that goalie's been standing on his head they said he's eight no in every game he's played this year so far how do you think this game goes you think the blue jackets have really turned the corner yeah i mean i i want to love columbus i really do but i just feel like they get in this cycle of they get they get just before they get really good their top guys want out like you saw it with so many guys over the years like rick nash and then marchenko and there was the rumors about wierenski this summer wanting out they had a trade lined up to send him to dallas and then it got blown up at the last second so i just feel like columbus is kind of always surrounded in some type of controversy and i don't know what it is because you know it's been a long time since columbus has been around for a long time and it's been a long time since columbus has been around for a long time and it's been a long time since columbus has been around for a long time and it's been a long time and i don't know what it is because you know it's a great city um they love their sports and i think they're kind of knocking on the door of being like maybe a wild card team this year if they can get in there but you know it's it's too bad because it's a great market and they fill out that building and and that gun that damn cannon you don't you know what that's like when they score scares the shit out of me but um i want to like columbus but it just feels like they're kind of in this cycle of you know rinse and repeat with their star players wanting out yeah it's hard to because they're not good at hockey inevitably so i understand we always want to kind of like them we all appreciate the uh columbus blue jackets we love the cannon we like the passion we like the people team just kind of stinks uh so we're gonna have to get that figured out maybe long term they do let's talk about the greatest maybe on ice right now go ahead ty yeah hornel uh mcdavid has been exceptional to start this season it seems like he's scoring you know three to five points every single game is this pace sustainable like are we thinking that he can do this the entire season and does he have to do this in order for edmonton to win a cup i mean it doesn't hurt right but he's on pace for over 200 points i mean i don't know if gretzky's point record is in play but it's close and if he keeps up this pace what a run that'll be to follow down the stretch i mean you know i didn't think there was another level for him to get to but apparently there is because he's hit it this year i mean i can tell you like trying to defend this guy when i was playing against him like i should have had a diaper on because he makes you want to shit your pants he's coming at you that fast like i'm not kidding he's unbelievable the way that a little diaper underneath the pads there yeah there's a little cloth diaper boys but uh yeah um he's just unbelievable finds a way to keep getting better so great for the league i hope he can win a cup i don't know if it'll be in edmonton or not but he's taking the biggest hometown hometown discount of any player in really the nhl history to try and win a stanley cup so we'll see what can happen let's Continuing to talk about the studs, Conman has a question for you. Yeah, Hornell, Gavin McKenna, number one overall pick to the Maple Leafs this year. He had two goals last night. He's had a hot start to his career so far. What do you think about the Maple Leafs thus far? They've been, you know, it feels like solid overall. The East is kind of stacked up top. But do you think the Maple Leafs have a chance this year to turn it around, maybe not disappoint all of Toronto and Canada? Totally agree. And, you know, John Chyka came in, their new general manager. He replaced Brad Treleving, and he really, really revamped the entire team. So, you know, they were kind of getting older and maybe a little slower, and I think they've kind of gotten a little bit younger and a little speedier. And McKenna has a lot to do with that. And let me be honest, what he's going through, first overall pick in the biggest hockey market in the world, it's very, very difficult. And so I've been impressed with how he's been able to step in there. You know, I think the big thing for him is he doesn't have to be the guy, right? Austin Matthews can be. He can be the guy. Willie Nylander can be the guy. So he doesn't have to be the savior. He just has to play well and get Toronto into the playoffs so they have a chance. But I like what Toronto's done. I think they can knock on the door in the Atlantic. But for me, it's Boston that's kind of the team that I'm really watching. They've been unbelievable to start this season, and they're kind of who I'm buying right now. Amen. Buy them big time. Remember, plus 10,000 to start the season to win the Cup. Oh, yeah. So disrespectful. We've got the best, youngest, brightest core. I mean, me and Ty talk. We talk about it every morning. Jimmy Hagel has got the touch. Jimbo Higgins is a superstar. Look out for the Bs all year long. And who's Janet? He's fighting everybody. Tanner Janot? Yeah, Janot. Toughest son of a bitch in the NHL. That's his name. Look, I mean, heavyweight battle here. This is no joke. And what's he do? Knocks his helmet off with a right hook here. Bang. Okay, now what? Now what's going to happen? Tanner Janot's going to line you up, lad. This was a hell of a fight against the Stanley Cup champs, mind you. We got a tough team up there in Boston. Tough team. Gritty team. You know what they have? Sandpaper. Jam. You know what they don't have? Cement in their freaking skates at any time. Okay, let's not talk about cement in skates at this stage of the season because it's very early. How are the Pens doing? So good. Are we winning? Are we going to win the Stanley Cup this year, the Pittsburgh Penguins, or no? You're not, and I think you're going to probably be selling at the deadline. Who is selling? Sid? What's that? Who is selling? They're going to have to make some tough decisions. I think they're going to have to look. They're trading Carlson at the deadline. I don't think they're going to be able to re-sign him. We'll see, but, you know, how long is that window open for Pittsburgh? Like, it's been shrinking and shrinking and shrinking the older that Crosby and Malkin and Letang get, so I don't know. I think Kyle Dubas is going to make some tough decisions. I don't know what they're going to do. The league needs Pittsburgh to be good. It's so good for the NHL to have Crosby in the playoffs, so I don't know what they're going to do, but I think they're going to be sellers come deadline. You're the man. We appreciate you. Good luck this weekend at the. Breeders' Cup. I hope you win every responsible bet that you place, and I appreciate you for the Knights Bridge pick that I'm certainly going to ride with on Saturday. For every young, though, that American-Japanese horse over there, tough, tough, runs really well. I don't like what they're doing. What's that? Taking our blood? He's not a gelding either. Intact. Huge nuts. How does he run? How does he run like that? That's the thing about these Breeders' Cup horses. They're used to that. Tape them up. You know, they're used to that. Running with five legs. You're the man. That's Eric Johnson. Yeah. All right. Stealing American blood? Yeah. There's got to be a law against that. They're taking our fillies and taking them over there to their time. It's bullshit. Imagine what they're paying. Oh. Selling off fillies? I mean, because aren't the stallions where all the money, the studs where all the money is, right? Mm-hmm. Allegedly. And now Japan's like, excuse me, actually, we need some mommies that are a little bit more into the race world. Crazy that we hadn't pieced that together in the last couple years, because the Japanese horses have started to become a bit more of a storyline, right, in the horse racing world as we wrap this up. Bruce Brown? Yeah. I don't know the full ins and outs of it, but I know that there are American breeders and American thoroughbred owners that are worried that as we keep shipping our best stallions and our best mares to Japan, like it's kind of diluting our American thoroughbred stock. Oh, you don't say. But, you know, it's a good opportunity for Golden Tempo and Sovereignty to knock off for every young here. It's so stupid. It don't matter. Here, this is what we're going to get. Oh, yeah. Go ahead. Where's Rapoli at? Sleeping at the wheel. He's getting ready for a big season. Rapoli's not letting his horses go to Japan. I hope not. Well, of course not, but he needs to say like, hey, uh-uh, you sons of bitches need to stop doing this, okay? We're shutting off horse planes to Japan. Exactly. Maybe all planes. You think Baffert's doing that? Shibuya, you think they're coming from? Roll call? Keep our horses home. We have been to Shibuya. Yes. There's no horses there. They should be allowed in Shibuya. No. That's the busiest crosswalk in the world. Five-sided, packed, building the building every time a green light comes. How many people, they say? I forget the number. It goes through that. Shrink the game. Thank you. This is a shrink the game moment. People forget. Speaking of busy city intersections and horses and welfare, the carriages are done in Central Park. Good. Boo! Man, last time we were there, those horses were miserable, man. I don't care. I like that. That's a good charm, good part of New York City. Especially if you're from the Midwest. You want to get on one of those horse carriages in the fucking winter. So what if these things are dropping dead? They know what they signed up for. Oh, no, they don't. Fuck them. No, they don't. I don't think they know what they signed up for. Well, sorry. Then learn to read and write so you can say, I don't want to do that. They were trying to off themselves when we were there last time. Well, yeah. I mean, in the middle of the summer when it's all wrong. They stink so bad. It smelled. That's a different thing. They were the most miserable. Since I saw that orangutan down there at the Indianapolis Zoo, I haven't seen a more miserable animal than those horses. But you haven't seen them around Christmas. You haven't seen the smiles on their faces. I agree. They're very happy at Christmas. You're right. Thank you. I've been there. Yeah. Yeah, it's like dressage. Are you sure they're not pulling? They might be, but I choose to think otherwise. Look how happy that damn horse is that he's letting me get in the. What do they need to do? Learn how to read and write. Sign up. The politicians say, I'm not doing this anymore. This is bullshit. It's part of the union. Yeah. I think they did. That's how it's got stopped. No, it's the people driving the carriages who, when these things get hot and overtired and fall over, and then the fucking whole thing collapses on these guys and breaks their legs and hips. Those are the guys who are mad. The horses love doing it. Oh, you think it's. Yeah. It's a service. You think this is over because the person driving. Yeah, the person driving the carriage. Too many of those guys have broken legs, hips, you know, et cetera, et cetera. They're saying it's too dangerous. Yeah. Because the horses can't survive what they've been. And what are those guys going to do now? It's a full-time job. They're pissed. They're coming out, and they're very. Yellow cabs. Exactly. Do we not care about those guys? Time to drive taxis, maybe? Yep. Yellow cab is exactly what I thought. I would like to say. Good luck getting the medallion. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. No chance. The world needs plenty of bartenders. Two weeks. Two weeks. I don't know if that's what they want to do. I would say, as Bruce Brown, who lived in the city for a long time, was with us every time we went to New York, every time he saw one of them, he made us all look at how depressed the horse was every single time. He said, there's like a big movement to get these horses off these streets, and we would have to go through the whole song and dance every time. And he finally did reach me. I did start looking at those horses. Those things were miserable. I mean, those ponies. They did not want to be there at all. And then you look at the people that are riding in it. It's like, these horses are trying to poop at the exact time you're on there. So, like, they can get a little bit of spite on you. I didn't know they'd actually go through with it. I thought that business was way too robust to kind of shut it all down. Now, Ty, you're just going to have to walk around. That is important to what New York is as the Stock Exchange, or the Yankees, or the Knicks. It is. Right up there. It is. Now they're going to shoot these horses now? We know what happens when you go out of committee. What are you going to do about the people on the rickshaws? Are we going to shoot those guys in the head, too? No. Because they're too tired of riding, you know, their little carriages on their bikes? Are we getting rid of those guys as well? Those are a massive scam. We have those downtown Indians there. They can't read or write either. The horses? Yeah, the carriages and the horses. We have three of them downtown Indy, I think, yeah. Yeah, we should ban that, too. They'll be next to go. No, they got a good life. That's fine. We don't need those in downtown Indy. Where they go around the circle and you can see the monument. Beautiful around the circle. They go down the canal. You think about Gumpy. Gumpy finds himself a little lady. He says, hey, you want a little nightcap? Hop on the back of this thing. Cup of joe on the horse. You got a little blanket in the back there. Yeah, beautiful spot. I didn't know that was his move. You just keep going around the circle. Hey, take it another round, horse. Just another round and another round. All of a sudden, 1 a.m. becomes 7 a.m. And all of a sudden, this horse is part of a love story that the old ship painter could have never imagined was never going to happen in New York. That bums me out. It really does. It's a great, great part of going to New York City. Had you ever done it before? I've done it before, yeah. Did you see what else is closing? What? The world famous Plaza Hotel. Stop. Home of Ring Ding Dong. Yeah, I know that's not true. But no, yes. It is for like four or five years. The home alone? Yeah. Look it up. To what? To renovate it? Yeah. Are you serious? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. For like four or five years, we got to get to the world famous Plaza Hotel, home of Ring Ding Dong. All right. Let's do that. And let's make sure we check that box. The famous Plaza Hotel in Midtown Manhattan is set to close for several years to repair and restore its historic facade. Nice. Take a look at this famous hotel throughout the years. New York's not going to be New York in a couple of years. Oh, what's that in 1898? Yeah. Horses pulling a carriage. Well, we're kind of happy that it's been that long. They're saying that's when it was the glory days of the Plaza Hotel. A lot has changed, obviously, since then. And they're just going to update, remodel it, and make it nicer. Hopefully, they have like a little mall and a cafe in the basement of that, if I recall. But on that note, they're doing the same thing for the horses, too. They're just taking some time off. It doesn't sound like it. Yeah, they're rebuilding it, remodeling it, reimagining what it could be, and it will only get better. Now, there are some things that make you get upset. And then there are some things that make you say, What the Chuck? Which is kind of what's happening with time with this horse thing in New York City. There has to be some football things that had Chuck Pagano saying, What the Chuck? What was it, Chuck? Oh, my God. Let's look at this first one. This is the end of the half. How much time is left on that clock? Three seconds. So we've got a Hail Mary situation, which they don't throw. Philosophy-wise, I like what these guys did at Chicago trying to pressure this. I don't like the end result. So if we look at the wide copy. Go ahead. Slow that down. Run it back to the beginning, Foxy, please. There's going to be a guy pressure rushing the running back up top, right? So they've got the three receivers here. So a lot of people rush three, rush two. Don't rush anybody, right? Let these guys run down the field. Let the quarterback sit back there jacking the ball off forever and let the receivers get down the field and then throw the Hail Mary. Well, sometimes you run a pressure. We call this Victory Cigar in Baltimore. And you get this guy on the ground before he has a chance to get the ball down. Well, they got a great play. Dennis Allen, D.C. at Chicago must have run this before. So see the Stevenson right there? The guy chasing him has him man-to-man. So when you pressure rush a guy, you've got to pressure rush to his hip and make sure he ain't giving you the okey-doke. Well, he gives them the business. May does a great job throwing this over the deal. All right, now we've got some. Stop! Look, how many bears do we got right there? One, two, three, four, right? Somebody needs to get him on. Percy ain't got a chance. Watch this guy, right? So he's over here. We got this guy here. We got this guy. Say, hey, throw it to this guy. Can they hear me? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Throw it to this guy. So he thinks he's going to. He stops running to tackle this guy to go cover this guy. This guy's chucking guy. He's in good shape here. What are we doing? And then run it one more time, Foxy. I got you. Watch. Hey. So watch my man, Jalen. I love Jalen. He's a great. I was in Chicago when we drafted this kid out of Utah. Get him on the ground. You've got four. Flag football? What are we doing? Why 24 run this way? Because he was looking for the lateral, you're saying? Yes. See him looking? He's kind of looking. He's running like the. He's kind of jerking the ball off. He's like, hey, hey, hey. And then gone. See what he did? Yeah, yeah. Pumpfaked. Pumpfaked the guy 30, 40 yards down the field. Unbelievable player. What are we up? 21-7? We're up 21-7? Mm-hmm. I was sick about this. You know who I took? I was sick about who I took in this game, right? Hell yeah, baby. Yeah. I took the Bears. And I'm thinking, oh, we're done. We're good. And then he was thinking. And then all of a sudden, here we go. And then you're thinking. What the Chuck? There we go. We've got to get this segment in there. So you're saying the people that were killing number 24 for running away from the ball, he thought this was going to be a lateral like what Travis Kelsey had done. The guy was wide-ass. Open over there. 100%. He's got to be as wide as the widest on kickoff coverage. I don't know if tackling a guy who gets the ball down the field on a Hail Mary is necessarily the same. So you can't put it all on him. Hey, Lynn, you're better than that. All right. Let's move along. That's gross. That is gross. You know what that had? What's that? Mm-hmm. Oh, I can't go there. Yeah, right? Well, let's keep it moving. That's smart. That's a good idea. Now, that team will have Jeffrey Simmons on it. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, it will. And he probably disrupts that entire thing at the beginning, and it doesn't even happen if I had to guess. Two microphones, better than no microphones. What do you got next there, Chuck Pagano? Okay. We got Bo Nix going to run for 75,000 yards untouched for a touchdown. Right? There he goes. Where's the defense? What's. You got to be chucking, kidding me. He does. Do you see him dive into the end zone there? Yeah, that's good. Do you see that ankle, how froze up it was? No, yeah. No, he couldn't even flex it. Nah. I can't believe he ran this far. So, if we run this back, Foxy. Look at the. So, as far as pass rush goes, Bo Nix, they thought. They listened to our report saying, hey, he's froze up, he can't run no more. Well, he can run. See these two. So, you got a one technique and a three technique over here, right? He stays in the clamp. He's getting double. He's got to push the pocket. Can this three technique just run the F up the field, up the chuck up the field? No. And open up this big gash here? What are they playing in the back end, Tony? Man. Playing man. So, if my guy runs over here and man, Pat, what do I got to do? Run over there. I got to chase him. So, look at all these. He's running over there. All right. So, here goes Bo. This guy sees him. He's still running around. Watch this guy. Bo's 15 yards down the field. He's still covering. He's got him. This guy's got his back turned. He's still covering. And then these guys can't get him on the ground. You don't think this had little Mike LaFleur saying, what the chuck? He's kind of a little guy, but I think he's doing a good job over there. Mike, he's done a great job. Buda Baker has not requested a trade. That came out that he has not requested a trade, but I assume there's a deal. But he also said he isn't. Yeah, he's kind of open. Yeah. I mean, if it happens, it happens. It is the business. But I have not gone on there and requested a trade. He's an incredible football player. Obviously, we're big fans of his. Bo Nix getting loose was good for him, I think, in his confidence going forward. Definitely a what the chuck moment for Arizona. Is there another here I see in the NFC North? What's going on here? 17-17 ball game. Okay. Which one am I on? I don't know. You tell us. Are you going to get up or not? You shut up. Whoa, what the chuck? I mean, really. Mind your. I mean. Just do the shag. Just do the shag. You want him to do some shags? Do the shag. Have some shags. Do what? The shag? The shag. Jesus Christ. Do the shag. I don't know how he's going to help you. Was there some officiating issues in this game? I'd say. And I love the officials. You guys know, I spent a year with them. I know those people. We know how difficult of a job this is. Yeah, of course. In real time, right? Whatever. I mean, it is. I always had appreciation after a year with them. Unbelievable how hard this job is. Yeah. But some of these roughing the passer calls. I mean, we've got it. You guys talked about it yesterday at nauseam about replay. This is a great throwing catch right here by Goff to get this thing down the field. Matriculate. Anticipatory throw by him. Great catch by Laporta. First down. We're going to attack another 15. Watch this. I think Dean Blandino was the official on this deal. He was. The guest guy. And this is textbook for body weight. Fall into the side on this. This guy staying away from the head and neck. Didn't touch the head and neck. And then as you're going to the ground, he falls to the side. And there's no way that this should ever be called. I think Tom Brady was talking about it on the call. Dean Blandino did a great job explaining this. I mean, he's got that entire. All right. That entire coaching staff from Green Bay, especially Matt LaFleur, brother of Mike LaFleur, saying, What the Chuck? If you can move a little bit forward. If you can move a little bit forward here with your hand out so that the papers in a mosquito ball football doesn't block your head, that'd be good. I don't know if you can see the camera. So anyway, I mean, there was one. A guy was stumbling and his helmet hit him in the gut and he fell down here. Boom. They hit him there, right? I don't know. Like, there's another one coming up here. I mean, this is this is crazy. This this one here. We got a guy on his back. Did you see that? That one was awesome. That one was. Oh, sweetie. It was a good throw by him, I thought. By the ref. We got to be tough. I love that guy. He's a good dude. We got to be tougher than that. You can't get a cleat and go down like a set. No, you got. No, no. Good sell. Good sell. Shawn Michaels, maybe. Wait for it. Does he have pink shoelaces? He does. And. He won it at the time. What the Chuck? You got to be tougher. He does get kicked. I mean, pretty good. No, he got it. He took a cleat. Yeah. He took a cleat. He takes a big time cleat. But can you imagine? Is he trying to make the tackle? What the hell is he doing in there? He's trying to get the ball. He's still going down to the ground. All right. So that made us all say, what the Chuck? Is there any Chuck in? Oh, yeah. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. So, two minutes, right? Mm-hmm. They're burning their timeouts to save time, right? Yep. They've got one more. Third and five. Mm-hmm. What do we tell them? What do we tell the defense? What are we all doing? Earmuffs. Water, water, water. Earmuffs. Earmuffs. Earmuffs. Earmuffs. Earmuffs, right? Mm-hmm. So, what do you think they're going to do? They started with a wide bunch over here. Then they shifted in, right? See if we can get somebody. And then, boom. Emote. And then. Yep. Hit it, Charlie. Hit it, Charlie. Yeah, baby. Charles, regardless. And this ain't Taunton? I mean, what the Chuck, officials? Show the wide copy. Do we have the wide copy on that, Foxy, or no? Did this cat over here? They'll get them. Yep. Right here. It's coming right now. It's coming, Chuck. It's out of the way. Watch the screen, Chuck. Right now. There. We can't do that. You look at a guy. You fart. You pass gas near a guy. You get a taunting. And what is it? What did they call this little deal? Oh, they did that in practice. They started doing it in practice. Quick feet. What is the situation there? Do you know? Is it then offsides first down, then 15-yard penalty, first and 25? No, no, no, if they threw it? Yeah, so because of this happens, it's after the play. It's a dead ball. So they would still get the first down. So they'd give him a first down, boom, and they'd mark it off. He had a breath. But then you guys asked Gibbs, why'd you go down? You could pad your own stats, right? Well, they're in a get down, don't score mode. Miller time. Miller time, get down, don't score. Bradshaw tried it, remember, in the Super Bowl? Couldn't stop. He was stopping, and then he fell in. And guess what? Tom Brady threw to Gronkowski on that. I was in the stadium. It was Lucas Oil Stadium. Bad down. You remember? Yeah. And he had a bad hamstring. He couldn't get to it. Otherwise, it was a touchdown. Anyway, great coaching. That was unbelievable. But I just got to say, like, what are we chucking to him? They're saying you're a bit chucking tired after giving Jameer Gibbs down. They're saying you're in trouble right now. They're saying you're really gasping. Who shut down? Everybody. You're breathing real heavy, Coach. Is that him cackling back there again? Don't BS you further. Did you see that Bruce? Bruce is doing it again. It was Bruce, yeah. No. I'm looking for the Miami Mariners. So, anyway, we're out of timeouts. They get to burn it down. Kick it with no time left on the clock. Game over. And the other chucking thing that happened, like at the start of the game, they go for it on fourth and five. They get it. Then they get down to fourth and three on the three yard, right? Fourth and goal from the three or whatever. And he decides to kick a field goal. There must have been some talk because what happened on that one he made, smack, he made the first one. And guess what? It didn't count. Why did it didn't count, Pat? Because it was stupid. We re-kicked stuff. No. They had to delay a game. Oh. Oh. Oh, yeah. I did remember, actually, the delay a game happening on this net. What are we doing? It went through the uprights. And we got to take the points off the ball. Move the ball. Back it up. Move the bat. What? What a shot! And guess what happened? They said somebody got a finger off. He pushed that thing wide. They did block that. There was a little fingy. A little middle fingy really doing the entire work there, pushing that thing. From that, I don't understand this close to the trajectory. How are these getting blocked? I can see a 55-60 yarder, but not a chucking chip shot. Yeah. Well, Trace Mack, certainly in the middle of the crosshairs, I believe, of Packers fans. He better make all his kicks tonight. He knows that. But they blocked it. I think it was good penetration by the Detroit Lions. I think they understood what was on the line. That's that never-quit attitude that MCDC has on the other side. He makes a decision and ends up backfiring a little bit. He says, I need my guys, man. And they say, we got you. Put a middle finger right on that ball. Trace Mack misses his second field goal. That's less than 35 yards. Has the entire Green Bay Packers fan saying, what the chuck? Good work there, Chuck. Okay, we've got two minutes here before we get off air on ESPN, before we send it over to Big Day with Big Schrags breaking down all the big plays. I'm excited to hear what he has to say about Jeffrey Simmons heading to the Tennessee Titans and everything else that's kind of cooking around. Before we get to that, what's the update on the WNBA game? Oh, real sad. No update back here. They were up 20 at halftime. 53-30, 625 left in the third. Okay, so it looks like the Dream are going to get this one. We extend the WNBA finals. And before we get out of here in a minute, we'd like to tell you that Chuck Pagano is going to do his pick digitally after his shot. Okay. Okay. Two and five. If you're a little better, we'd probably try to force it in here. Well, I'm ready. Are you trying to – You got this one figured out? I've already got it written down. W at home, three and five. Oh, really? Miss Tina saying the same thing or what? What does that mean? You're going to want to stick around for that, aren't you? You're going to want to stick around. Yeah, we're on ESPN+, YouTube, Disney+. People are going to want to hear what you have to say. All over that digital. Yeah, you are. Dream your asses off, baby. Yeah, two and five, maybe three and five. Still way below 500, but on our way back to having a great season. Could be 12 and five. Everybody forgets about that. That's right. Your team can still get hot and win the entire Super Bowl. Unless you're the Colts or the Titans, it feels like. Yep. Everybody else may be in it, AJ. Is that how you're viewing it? Yeah, I think you're spot on, Rick. How about Kirk Herbstreit in the first hour going, you know, just like the Colts, the Titans are in this. We need to rebuild for the future. And just like the Colts, they're trying to get rid of all their good pieces. And just like the Colts, it's like, man, that is what the Colts is. That's life, I guess. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice about a change in life. We'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye. All right, so we plugged big day with big strength, right? Yes, we did. I feel like we did very professional stuff. Yeah. We teased a man who was getting a bit excited about his pick maybe being a good one. Yep. We talked about the Colts being the Titans now all of a sudden, which I don't like. I don't like at all, but Kirk Herbstreit kind of brought that up. And then we also got a chance to chit-chat about the WNBA. Feel pretty professional. Now let's get a break. Okay? Okay. We did horse racing, hockey, baseball, in the bus. Yeah. Carriages. Yep. Being removed. Horses, yeah. Cruelty. Honored to horses. I got a good idea for that, by the way. Just like the railroads, bring over the Japanese horses. Use them. Have them do it. Is that burning, or am I having a stroke? What about just robots? Fuck you. Well, that's what we're coming to. You're going to see. Somebody said, hey, these guys can all go be cab drivers. There ain't going to be any cab drivers left anymore in two years. Yeah, Waymo. Two years. Waymo's really doing a lot. They're all done. Try two weeks, brother. Hope you're prepping. Did you ride a Waymo, AJ? Oh, yeah. Rode a Waymo when I was in Arizona. Took it all the way to AQ's house. And San Fran. He loves them. I do. They freak me out a bit. I haven't yet to get in one. Yeah. They're way safer than humans. Humans are so, I mean, think about it. People get, I'm not freaked out about full self-driving. Like, I want one because I want to be able to sleep and drive. Well, that's what you've been doing while driving. I know. I want the computer, the robot, to take me from point A to point B. And full self-driving is legit now. I don't need to sleep, but it's fine. Yeah. When you drive, especially when the sun gets to a certain point, you've talked about it. It's hard not to fall asleep while you're driving with both feet in Ohio. So, we think self-driving cars were made specifically for people like you. And we hope. We hope that people like you are no longer behind the wheel in the future. But, with all the tech glitches that we experience on a daily basis, I mean, our internet stopped working into a rack because it changed the IP address by itself. Okay? Allegedly. There's a lot of that going on. The Waymo is just. You're right. I mean, yeah, you would think it is, it would be something that people that did not want to wish anything positive on us could take over and ruin. Easily. Caused some issues. But, you can do that with normal cars now. They claim like, "Oh, the CIA can take over your car and drive you over a cliff." Like, you've seen all that. What? Those conspiracies. Yeah, that's true. Not even, doesn't even have to be a, it's not a Waymo or anything, but just a normal car that they can get into. I saw another video out of the University of Utah this morning. I don't know if it's just technology that really wants to get us, you know, there's a lot of. Oh. Yeah. That was crazy to see just a couple of days after. It's almost like, well, does this guy maybe have a little better feel? Feel on what it is all happening than you might have? I don't know. I'm not 100% sure. What do I know? What do I know? Nothing. Just sports. And even that I don't really know. Who's gonna win tonight? I don't know, but it sounds like Chuck Pagaw knows what's going on. Can't wait to get your pick. Can't wait to wrap up all the storylines and headlines that we haven't covered yet today. Have you heard about Aaron Rodgers talking about him being iced out on the way back from Pittsburgh? He loved what was going on there. Vibes are high in Pittsburgh. Will that carry them further into the playoffs, maybe to a Super Bowl like they haven't seen in years? Jerry Jones said, hey, listen, I fucking don't have a lot of pieces to be able to do much and maybe not a lot has happened, but I'll fucking keep looking. If it's gonna make us better, I'll do it. And if you're gonna ask me right now, will I make a play to win? Yeah, I will make a play. What is it? Who the fuck knows? But if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it don't. So I don't want to hear it. Just know the Cowboys are gonna give you a show. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice might change your life. You got a lot to do. See you then. Goodbye. The Talks Table is here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer. Done. Cowboys AP Tone is here. I'm not 100% sure, but I think and weeks past, our boost is live. Is it live? Do we know if it's up there for Thursday Night Football where we have Young Love, forever Young Love, especially tonight Young Love. It's it. Wishing and hoping and planning for Bryce Young and Jordan Love to both have 220-plus pass yards this evening. Now, Carolina Panthers defense sucks at stopping the run, but the Green Bay Packers have been terrible at running the rock. Jordan Love and Bryce Young both average more than 220 yards. Bryce Young's the second leading passer in the NFL. Nobody really knows that or talks about that, after your ass beating last week. week to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jordan Love is fourth in the NFL in past yards for what he averages so in theory we should win tonight yet again yeah if we do that we will certainly be excited it's not a guarantee so we would uh recommend certainly wholeheartedly to do this responsibly let's make the game a little bit more fun let's have a little action on the action let's not act like we're gonna uh pay off our mortgage with one particular bet but we do like the way this one sits we do like the way it looks tone digs why should we like this why should people potentially think about riding alongside of us and why do we think this is going to be a great game this evening tone yeah we've kind of found our sweet spot as far as the boost on Thursday night we're four and three on the year two and oh when we do quarterback uh total yards over on both side of the ball it started with Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson and then last week we did it with Drake May and Caleb Williams so we are continuing that trend with Bryce Young and Jordan this week um and we did it to the tune of 220 plus yards for both of them they both over our average over 280 yards a game as you just said so it felt right yeah you talk about the Panthers rushing defense and the Packers not being able to run with Josh Jacobs back they probably will try to run a little bit more but Jordan Love is still going to take his shots against that banged up Panthers secondary and then Bryce Love and the and the Panthers sorry Bryce Young and the Panthers um they bounce back incredibly well you talk about their against the spread after a loss so we expect a good performance out of them um and they normally do it through the air as you as you talked about with with uh Bryce and you know Chuba Hubbard could get going too but we like it we like it more than 220 for both yeah we like it maybe a little check down too to get busy we will certainly hold on all night as we find out if 220 is going to be hit for both of them that's a lot of yards that's a lot of drives we're going to need all four quarters probably okay we're going to need at least deep into the second half we're still alive let's remember we're never out of this one and we can hang on even a hail mary happens at the end that's right that's another 50 60 yards potentially for somebody that we need let's not give up hope let's not think negatively let's win tonight aj for the good of the people that have been following along with us yeah let's win let's win the first half let's make this thing a shootout back and forth back and forth and boom third quarter hits and we're already comfortable relaxing just watching the game if we have 500 pass yards in the first half love that we would love that we would certainly love that both defenses would not but i would love if that's how week eight of the nfl season kicked off now joining us obviously every single thursday is a man that we absolutely love a football coach of 37 years 18 in college 19 in the nfl our coach ladies and gentlemen coach pergola yeah charlie all right uh charlie regardless you know uh that thursday night football picking has not been easy this year the nfl as a whole has not been easy no aj's been kind of seeing it throughout the entirety of the first seven weeks of the season it's actually been very impressive how he's been doing against the spread me you you many others not really seen it but tonight especially after what you did last week could be the time where we start to see the picture clearly oh yeah tonight could be the what the chuck moment that is from the books on what you end up doing to them for the rest of the year you started last week by seeing it now this week you hammer done and indicate to the world that you got a feel and a grasp of what the hell is going on in this men's league this national football league the biggest league on earth has their week eight kickoff tonight in green bay historic lambeau field and you chuck potentially on a heater picking these things how do you see tonight going and what are your thoughts on the game chuck well uh after that beat down by tampa we talked about it earlier carolina couldn't get the lambo quick enough and kick this thing off so um you see the numbers here both teams can really throw the heck out of the ball if you look at pass offense right they they love throwing it so your boost i think is you know again bet responsibly but i think that's a that's a winner for sure we talked about charles charles what charlie nothing is for sure brother why would you say that you jack because i believe it okay all right i got the two quarterbacks bryce young's playing at an extremely high level right extremely so shut your face right all right i'll come wipe that smirk off your hey i don't have a okay used to call you get your eat that poor job slap you right in the okay i like that okay what year was that see the guys and girls a long time ago a little different 68 or 69 times have changed old man i know you can't say that no more no you certainly can't i just think you don't want to have a different you don't want to eat okay that's okay just go to your room and get on your ipad that's fine charlie i mean that's what we're doing that's not what i'm doing no babysitting oh here's the greatest babysitter in the world hit your ipad toy story 5 taught a good lesson about that well i'm sure it did listen mckenzie's certainly going to be uh good with technology but i don't love whenever she gets locked in on one of those and he can't distract her it's like immediately take it out but i'll tell you there's a lot of learning that can be done on there as well 100 you know and i i know uh i know i haven't really done the whole uh hey put that ipad down or i'm gonna smack you in your push just yet but uh times have changed i want to go there no i don't recommend that no me and my daughter have a great relationship great relationship and her eating is becoming a thing she doesn't necessarily like stay focused on her food so getting her uh acting like i'm taking her food to eat it and her going yeah and then eating it has been a lot of fun i feel like i'm conquering a little three-year-old toddler's brain in real time i enjoy it's one of my favorite things uh to do is to trick her into doing things it feels so good and then it Immediately afterwards, I say, I got you. You can't just let everybody get you like that. And then I do it again the next day. Then I get her for breakfast. And then at one point, she's going to learn about it, and she's going to say, just take it. And then I'm going to have to deal with it then. But I've loved the entire idea of parenting. But you, before I had a kid, I was playing for a team. He was bitching about people giving their kids iPads back in 212, maybe? 212, 213? 214? 214, he was saying it. The things he was saying to the team, he'd walk in. He just heard some story from somewhere. Nobody really knows what's going on. Most of us, some of us didn't have kids. And he goes, I'm fucking sick of everybody just handing their kid an iPad. I'm sick of it. Don't hand your kid an iPad. Why don't you be a parent? Why don't you just actually do something instead of just handing a fucking iPad over to your kid? Really worked up. First thing he's saying to us, and I have remembered that. I just want to let you know, with my daughter and whenever baby boy Midas gets to the age, I think about you doing that all the time. Legit. So I appreciate it. I appreciate you coaching me to be a better parent before I even thought I was going to have kids. The biggest thing, like on that deal, like if you're going to punish your kid, we talked about consequence in the NFL with Harbaugh and Scabu, whatever, right? Like you've got to see it through. So you guys got young kids, so okay. Biggest thing, like you take away a Saturday. Hey, look, you keep doing this behavior, there's going to be consequence. Well, the first one's going to be, you ain't playing Saturday. You're going to spend the whole day in your room. And guess what? Guess who else loses a Saturday? You as a parent. You do. Because you're going to have to sit there by that door and monitor the thing the whole time and make sure it stays. Now, it just takes one Saturday, but most people ain't willing to give up their Saturday. You also can't really do that with like a three-year-old or four-year-old. You can't just be like, hey, you're staying in your room your whole day. No, you can't. Well, a three-year-old, I think she's going to be a little more. Mine turned out really good. As a three-year-old? I don't know about a three-year-old. That's like six, seven. No, we laid hands early, not healing. Oh, jeez. 1969, you're early. I'm with you, coach. No, so, anyways. Anyways, parenting is fun. I would like to say that. It's a lot, though. It is a lot. And everything is potentially leading to a massive decision down the road. And it's like the idea that you're shaping a human with every single thing that you do is a lot of pressure. A lot of fun, though. Because I feel like I can kind of sway Kenzie into thinking like certain ways from an early age. But I think she's going to decide what she holds on to and what she doesn't, right? Isn't that kind of the entire deal? And just remember, the guy she's going to marry will be the one that she watches every single day of her life growing up. Same, exactly like Pop. So, the biggest thing, who's got daughters? You've got a daughter. It's interesting. Okay? Who's got daughters? You've got three, right? Yeah. So, the best advice, and this is from Tina because she taught me everything. Like, I was horrible. When I was home, I was horrible. I had no clue what I was doing, you know? But she would tell me, hey, look, you know that when they get old enough to get married, they're going to marry somebody just like you, somebody that they, you know, revere whatever, what they see day in and day out, good or bad. And this shit you're doing, this ain't very good. So, just keep that in mind. And the other thing I can give you with your daughters is make sure that their self-esteem is off the charts. And they feel great about themselves, and they love themselves. Yeah. Because then when they go out, peer pressure and all that stuff, they're going to be solid enough to say, okay, no, I don't need that. I'm not going there. I'm good. I feel like I am a cheerleader all the time for Mackenzie for everything she does. And you're saying, like, hey, yeah, that's very good. Let's keep doing that. That's a smart idea what I'm doing. Because I'm just doing it because I like to see her smile and laugh and, like, go on to be strong and courageous and smart and everything like that. So, I'm just celebrating everything she does. But I do get worried that I'm gassing her up too much, you know? Yeah, I get worried every once in a while I'm gassing her up too much. They need to be tough. They need to be able to stand up. Okay, so in sports, when I'm playing little baby boy Midas, he's not scoring a point on me. Okay? He's not getting a bucket. He's not getting a goal. He's not getting a first down. Participation trophies. Yeah, right. He's getting his shit swatted. So the day that he does beat me, it's a big day. You're saying, McKenzie, let's go ahead and let her feel a little success there. Let's go ahead and let her do this entire thing. Something to think about there. Because I was thinking soccer-wise, McKenzie, I'm just, you know. You've got to learn a little bit. Yeah, she kicks it. Boom. I don't think so, Kenz. I don't think so. She's getting into soccer. She's starting to kick. She's got a left foot. She's going through cones at school, at home. She's kicking it back and forth. I'm like, here we go. We've still got a World Cup here. We've still got a World Cup that we can potentially go get Miss McKenzie. And then she puts a dress on immediately. And then she kicks again. And I'm like, okay, so we've got kind of best of both worlds. And then all of a sudden she loses her mind and she wants to dress off. Now she has a witch's broomstick because we're celebrating Halloween. And she wants to be naked running around the house with her broomstick. And then she's hitting me. So it's a lot of fun. How many kids do you have again, AJ? I always say 10. I don't know the actual number. I've got four. I've got a daughter and then three boys. Wow. Your daughter oldest? Oh, yeah. Fifteen and a half. Get her temps. Ooh. Get your temps. She's got to be a better driver than Dad. Yeah, for sure. She tells me that all the time. Yeah. Okay, good. Very confident. She's awake. Yeah, it's here. But yeah. We're entering dangerous times with AJ as far as driving just because daylight savings on Sunday. Yeah, sun's going down early. Going down real early. It's like school time. Exactly. If you have kids in the Ohio area, look out. AJ Hawks on the loose. Bus drivers. If you see Ohio State legend license plate. Uh-huh. There's a chance that thing's going to be swerving a little bit as he dozes off as the sun goes down. He's going to have two feet working, the pedals there. So when he does wake up, he will be able to stop with his left foot relatively quickly. But who knows where he is. He confuses him. Yeah, you're right. He's speeding up towards you. What's so funny, AJ? I tried to teach my daughter to drive with two feet. She said the guy in the end cars told her, no, you're not supposed to. 100%. Yeah, because she's not having it. I said, okay, that's. Well, we're not going to get into it. But yeah, it's okay. If you can do it, you should do it. Okay. I don't think so, though, is what I think a lot of people say. Who made that rule? Tell me who made that rule. But yeah, once again, we don't need to get into all this again. But who's they? It's like when my mom says, well, they say you're not supposed to do that. Cool. Tell me who they are. I'm a big who's they guy. I like to hear who they is as well. My dad, the driver's ed teacher, he told me a long time ago. Tim McAfee. Who taught him that? Common sense. Driver's ed teachers. Yeah, exactly. Who's to say the first driver's ed teacher was Jesus Christ himself? We don't know. Could have been. Like, whatever rules they're making. You don't have the same dexterity with both feet if you're right footed. Oh, okay, Chuck. I don't know. I play point guard. I was one man press break with my left hand. So my left foot works pretty well, too. Got you there. You win. Tim McAfee, professional driver for a long time, truck driver. You know, I think he taught me pretty young right foot is for gas and brake and then left foot is for the clutch, you know, but you just said, you know what? I would listen to Tim. No, if I'm driving with Tim, if I'm driving, I'm going one foot with Tim. I respect him enough that I will not use two. But if it's manual, obviously, you got to work the left foot. Oh, yeah. I love, yeah. If you're driving manual, if you're driving manual, are you going from brake pedal to clutch? Like, are you doing that? Usually not. Only if my right groin is pulled pretty bad. That's the only way I'm doing it. Do you know how to drive stick? Yeah, I learned. That's my first car was a tiny two-door Honda Civic. That was my older brother. So it was a stick. Luckily, I'm very happy it was a stick because it's a skill you need to have, I think. Me as well. Yeah. I don't know how many people are able to do it these days. It's hard to find a car that's a stick nowadays. Yeah, I wouldn't say anymore. Bill's Jeep. Nick went to the auction to, or Nick went and found a truck that was a stick because he missed driving a stick so much. And it's hard to find. You got to like really dig deep. I had to drive to Kentucky. Exactly. You ever seen three on a tree? Oh, yeah. Shifting that? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Have you ever gone super high end and done the. On the paddles? You ever shift on the paddles? I never used them. I got them on the Range Rover. What? Charlie. Charlie. Get into coaching, baby. What's that? The paddles don't do it. There's no. Like a lot of the paddle things I've had, there's a paddle. I'm like, oh, yeah, you're changing gears. But if you don't do it, it'll automatically do it for you. Yeah. But you can. Yeah, you can. I think you can. I think you can. The settings, you can do it to where you're actually making it work. Yeah, that's good. Yeah, because you're trying to get that closer to a red line whenever you're shifting as opposed to whenever the car's shifting, because the car's thinking about the engine, so it's going to be a little bit. You get on those paddles, they're turning shift off, you can. You know, you can really get that thing up there, AJ. And then you can always hear the assholes. You know, don't know how to shift a damn thing. That's not us. Thank God. Thank God. Oh, a Ram truck. I like that. That sounded like a Ram truck I just heard. I don't know if they have any of those that are stick these. Bill almost got his Jeep stuck that one day, pulling all the laws here. Yeah, it was. Yeah, people just beating up that thing, you know? It was a great investment on his part. Still has it, right? Yeah, I think so. I actually can't sell it, I don't think. I think the cats use it as a litter box now. The title's all messed up. Hey, Barbecue Bill's gone right now. Can we please not bury him? The bacon was divine. Yeah, it's tough to cook bacon. Excuse me, that was in a smoker into a flat grill or something like that? Yeah, flat iron. Flat iron in the back? Flat top, yeah. Yeah, have you seen what Bill looks like out here? As he's cooking this barbecue for us on this glorious NFL Week 8 kickoff Thursday, AJ? I saw a picture earlier. I don't know if you popped it up here for all the people or not. Yeah, I sent it in to the group text. I think we are currently trying to find it right now. Barbecue Bill on a Thursday. There you go. He's out there in the back. We got a new smoker, and Bill said he couldn't wait to get his hands on that. He's been rubbing and tossing meat in there all morning. Can't wait for after his show. It's going to be spectacular. Had a little bacon appetizer. Bacon appetizer for us out there in between the break. Love what Bill's doing. You could put 50 scrambled eggs on that flat top you guys got out there. That's a good idea. Yeah, maybe that's next Thursday. Oh, hash. You've got to do that. Oh, my God. Waffle house feel. 100%. That would be great, Bill. Peppers, maybe? A little onion, mushroom. Put them all in there. I'm going to bring the meats, and we're going to do meatballs and sauce. I promised you guys a couple years ago. Now we've got the kitchen. Now we get his moonshine from Redcoat Charlie. I'm going to bring some grappa. Bullshit. We'll bring some grappa. Of course. You keep laughing. Thank you. My don't. Catch our cat. All right, let's get to the pick. We'll cut you off a little bit. No, you're good. Tail of the tape here. I mean, honestly, it did get into a really good family conversation. As someone who doesn't have kids, I enjoy listening to that. Big deal. So I'm on road a lot right now. Very lucky to be on road a lot. Try to get home as fast as possible. Try to have at least five mornings and nights with my daughter. You know, like putting her to bed and waking up and being there. And she now is starting to catch the rhythm whenever she knows that I won't be there the next morning. And she goes, you don't go bye-bye. And I go, I'll be back. I'll be back real soon. She goes, not morning, though. And I go, no, no, no. But, you know, like tomorrow morning, I'm going to be home because game day is in Bloomington. And we're not. I don't have to. I don't have to fly somewhere on Thursday night. And she's fully expecting tonight for me not to be there tomorrow. Cannot wait to run up there tomorrow and just surprise her for the, you know, the big daddy. I think the big thing that I'm learning is like just the amount. And I try to do this everywhere. If you're present, they know. Like if you are, Mackenzie knows like if I'm there or if I'm thinking about something else. So I try to just completely lock in on just being her dad whenever I have the moments. It's like I can't have. The amount of moments right now that I wish I could have with her. You know, we have a job and that's the way the world works. And hopefully she'll understand that at some point. But when I'm there with her brother, it is like a full court press of her understanding that I'm there. It's a parenting has been fun. It has been a fun, fun thing. Little Midas, this fucker's big, dude. He's gigantic. This thing's head. Shoot. He's a happy baby. Paul yelling, smiling, happy. I mean, he is. He's much more active than Kenzie was at these stages. Like Kenzie, it took a while for her to really like smile and like have a personality. And I think she's still kind of like that. She's going to be. I think she's going to be a hilarious smartass. Like, I think she has a lot of that in her. Midas is just up and about. We're yelling. We're talking. We're bouncing. We're smiling. We're grabbing. We're kicking already. It's like and he's big. He's fucking big. So I'm enjoying it all. I love it. But you have helped me be a good dad. So I appreciate you, Chuck. And Connor, you'll be a phenomenal father if you get the opportunity to be. A father. I cannot wait to watch it. God willing. How about little Foxy over there? Yeah. How about it? How about him? And little Roman out there? Absolutely. Five weeks today. Congratulations. Yep. It's been awesome. He's eating, sleeping, peeing, pooping the whole thing. It's been great. I love it. And my wife's been awesome. That's been outstanding to watch her be a mom. Shout out to Reagan. Now, just like everybody's kind of told all of us, it only gets better. Yep. It only gets better, especially, you know, as they get to the point of forming full thoughts. Yeah, he's starting to smile right now, which has been. It's been really cool this week. Yeah. See? A little development process. First couple weeks, you start thinking to yourself, I don't know if I'm going to be able to do this. How do everybody, how has people since the beginning of time been able to accomplish this? Like, actually, how have they been able to do that? But to your point about Reagan, it's like watching Sam, mom here, you know, and then these babies are tough, which I think is a big part of it. You know, human's pretty tough since the beginning. But these, hey, Roman will drop something on you from whenever he was six weeks old, whenever he gets a little bit older, that you'll be like, how the fuck? Do you like Mackenzie remembers the most obscure things? She wanted the boxing gloves out of here last night. She hasn't played with those in weeks probably. I FaceTimed from the Thunderdome. I talked to her, and she goes, bring gloves home. And I'm like, gloves? What, what? You got it. So I get over to a baseball glove. I'm like, baseball gloves? She goes, no, I want black glove. And I'm like, I have no idea what you're talking about. And then I mosey around, go over there, boxing glove. And I hold it up, and she goes, yeah. And I'm like, whoa, how do you remember that that is even here? I didn't even remember it was here. And now she's starting to piece things together. And I think this is when the games really begin. I'm not 100% sure. How old are all your kids right now, Ty? Four and a half, a little over two. And then, what, like five months? The four and a half. Or six months. Because she is just. Very smart. Yeah, that's what I'm learning about here. Yeah, and now she can fully interact and play with my two-year-old. And they're obsessed with the baby. So that part is very cool. A little teamwork on it. Yeah. A lot of fighting. But, you know, that comes with the territory. Mackenzie, that first day we bring Mighty's home. No, brother. No, brother. Now she loves him. Talks to him. I assume that won't always be the case. What a time for all of us. Building families. Got kids. New houses. Professions. Look at us. Good for us, AJ. We're all adults. Seemingly. Well. Yeah. I guess age-wise, you are correct. Did you hear about the test that ties four and a half? Half-year-old daughter took? She got a better score on it than Mitt. I don't know if we all are, but. You're right. I guess I painted with a broad brush there. Yeah. But for the most part. Yeah. Percentages, if we were to go. Percentages, yeah. Yeah, into the percentages game. I'd say like 80, 75% in here. Bone coughed up a full chicken nugget this morning. I don't know if it was from like last night or what. Two days ago. Three weeks ago. Oh, yeah. Kind of like a chipmunk. He stores them in his cheeks. Yeah. He was doing. Like a full McNugget game. No. Like that Sasso Vine. Did he re-eat it? Well, that's what I would assume is that he's swallowing these McNuggets whole. Well, that's what I'm saying. So he's popping these things like jelly beans? Yeah. Yeah. Or popcorn. Yep. I just thought like your body naturally would decompose that a little bit. No. No, no, no. Apparently he's eaten so many of them that he's got like a special space he can store them in case he does need to cough them up later. And it's like a little treat this morning. Oh, because he gets another one. Yeah, exactly. He gets to then, you know. Experience it on the way out. Exactly. And again on the way in. Correct. He's got the game figured out. Hashtag life hack. Yep. That's a T-bone football, baby. Speaking of football, let's get to tonight's game. Panthers are taking on the Green Bay Packers. Let's not be giving our iPads to our kids all the time. Okay? Let's be present. Let's do some parenting. Let's enjoy the hell out of Thursday night football. They're tougher than you think. Who? Your kids. Oh, yeah. You mentioned. Oh, yeah. Did you call to your first? Like our first? My first? Coddle them. Oh, don't. You know, they're going to fall. They're going to break. Bop, bop, bop. Right? And they tend to be a little bit. But then that second one, you're just like, oh, yeah. Let them roll. Because you learn. They are tough. They are tough. Yeah. Definitely tough. I don't just let them roll. And that second, third one, they'll be fine. Just leave them on the street corner five months old, you know? Yeah, they'll be good. Let them go. Let them go play. But it's the truth. You don't have to coddle them. I think it depends. I think it depends which street corner. I do appreciate that you're saying. We all learn as parents that the first one, any fever, cough, sound, yell, fall, bruise, everything is like, whoa, full panic, full panic, full panic. With Midas, he starts yelling and screaming. It's like, man, somebody needs to change his dude's diaper. He's like, I got to get in there and do that. There's only a couple problems this thing can have right now. Good luck out there, buddy. It's fun, man. It's a lot of fun. A lot of effort. A lot of time. A lot of energy. A lot of effort. A lot at stake for the rest of their lives. Very much so. And you can feel that pressure. Speaking of a lot at stake, tonight, two NFC teams looking to bounce back. Panthers and Packers do battle at Lambeau. Chuck, who's going to win? How are they going to win? And why, pal? You know, Carolina went up there last year, double-digit dog, and beat them outright. That's a good football team. At Lambeau. This feels, this got a lot of feel. All the numbers we know about the dogs howling. Dogs are barking. Primetime. Them going up there last year. So they're not going to be intimidated about Lambeau and going up there and playing this football team. They're coming off a bad, bad loss. They got good players. Joey Gilbert. We got our guys down there. We know people's there. So they'll, you know, can I also have his guys ready? Good runner. Tep McMillan. Coker. You know, Waller had a big play last week. They got enough weapons, you know, to do some damage. But this Green Bay defense. It's probably been the most consistent. Irby mentioned it. Over the last four weeks, they've only allowed 13 and a half points a game, which is really, really good. And that's against a Dallas offense, Chicago offense. Now, Chicago didn't have Caleb Williams. They had the combo platter of Keenum and Nugent. Bajent. Bajent. Oh, I thought it was Ted. No, it's not Ted or Mike. No. He played like that, Nugent. Sorry, you're going to want to arm wrestle me, Pop. Sorry, Pop. Yeah, Bajent. Big fan from our understanding. Dad does watch the show. Shout out to you, legend out of West Virginia. And Tyson, good stuff. But turnovers are going to be huge. This secondary for Green Bay leads the league in interceptions. They've got nine. That's more than anybody in the National Football League. They love to throw the ball. So, we're going to, it'll be, the interceptions will be after the boost hits. Thank you. Sorry, scared me a little bit. So, that'll happen afterwards. So, I think that's going to be big. And we talked about them getting Jacobs going. But they'll get them touches the way you're wanting them. You know, screens and check downs and swings and things like that. Okay. Jared Goff. Yeah, I'm not. Hold on. How many did Jared Goff throw for against the Packers? Three hundred and three. Yeah, three. All right. You're just pointing out a lot of things. Oh, so he can throw picks. Like, they can go down 17-nothing. And then all they can do is throw. So, we don't have to be scared of that. I mean, they made great, there was three or four of those. Four of them there. Right, Foxy? That could have been intercepted by Goff? Absolutely. There was actually two in a row. And Tom Brady was losing his mind. You know, so this defense. This defense has, for Green Bay, is pretty good. They're missing Zaire Franklin in the middle. That'll affect them a little bit, maybe from a communication standpoint. A little bit. There's a lot of tackles. That guy's everywhere. Like to my what? But I don't see, like, to your point, they're four and three and they're last in the NFC North. They cannot afford to lose this football game. And Carolina's sitting there at three and three in the first place in the NFC South. So, who needs this more? You're at home. You're at Green Bay. You got Jordan Love, who's playing spectacular football. You got Golden, who's going to play. He's supposed to, might have been out. You got, you know, Watson, Tucker Craft, Jacob, all this stuff. You got a really good team. On paper, you know, they've got the better team, I think, right now. There's a lot of injuries in the secondary for Carolina. So, I'm going to lay the three and a half and I'm going to take the home team. Here we go. Green Bay Packers minus three and a half, says Chuck Pagano. He is coming off a hit for last week. He's only two and five on the season. But he did hit last week. It's just a tale of things to come that Chuck Pagano is starting to see the board. Desperate Packers, bottom of the division at four and three. Carolina Panthers have a lot of mistakes they can make down the stretch. Are they going to lose back-to-back games? Whenever they've been coming off a loss, this Carolina Panthers team, very good against the spread, very good outright. It's been a thing that they've been able to bounce back in a big way. Anything that Chuck say scare you a little bit that he's taking the Packers? Or are you pumped that you agree with him, AJ? Because we know you, all-time champion. All-time leading tackler for the Green Bay Packers are going to select the Green Bay Packers. But it's not just because you're bias-y. It's because I think you love their football team right now. I do. I like how their defense is playing as well. And I think Jordan Love is very, very, very good. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves a lot of the time. But I know Chuck was telling us to fade him. Was that just this last week? Last couple weeks he was saying he's getting to the point where he wants you to fade Chuck and all of his picks. I would never turn my back on Chuck and his picks. So I am definitely going to ride with Chuck with the Packers. Minus three and a half. I think they win by seven or ten. And Jordan Love and Bryce Young both throw for probably 270-plus. There you go. And I had a decision this week that with how good AJ's been doing picking these games, I'm going to tail AJ. Oh, okay. And there's going to be one or two games that I'm going to try to pick him off of. Yeah, there you go. Okay? And this ain't the one. This ain't the one. I've got to start getting back into this. He is smacking me around whenever it comes to the picks records against each other each week. So I'm tailing AJ, and then I'm going to try to snipe him on a couple. And that won't be tonight. That'll be tomorrow when I look for that. So I am also going with the Packers. Feels like it's a clean sweep. Anybody on the stage here picking Panthers plus three and a half? Yeah. You are. I am too. Packers win. Three and a half is just a weird number. Feels like maybe a trace, Matt, get back, game winner, 27-24, something like that. Strictly a number thing for me. The three and a hook is. If it was two and a half, I'd take Packers. Packers win. Panthers cover. Great game. Great game. Especially if they both go for 220-plus. Over is the bet. You like the over. Over 47-and-a-half is what Connor likes. Ty Schmidt, how do you feel about the way everybody's talking about this? Yeah, I mean, the Packers should win. You know, like, I think they are the better team. And then, you know, like Chuck said, they really don't, like, you look at their schedule, four of their next five after tonight, they have the Patriots, then the Vikings, then the Rams, then they play the Saints, and they have the Bills. So, like, you don't really, like, they have a tough stretch coming up here. Their defense has been the calling card so far this year. So, we'll see. Love. has played really good. I just, they do need to, you know, run the football in a couple of the games this year though and this has been before josh jacobs they rely on it a little bit too much and then that's when they get in third and nine third and eleven and it's like that's why their time of possession is so bad like if they get out ahead of the panthers they need to be able to run the football and and sustain a lead a little bit and not just rely on jordan love to have to go out there and throw for 300 plus yards which has basically been the the recipe like they've been so boom or bust it's either it's explosives and that's how they're scoring their touchdowns chunk plays like they really haven't had any like long meticulous drives but the panthers uh rush defense is terrible so i'm hoping that josh jacobs can kind of get going tonight but the the pass game is there you know it it hasn't been for a long time but like that's how they need to win like they're not going to win tonight by rushing for 200 yards i don't think all right that's how ty feels con man like you're going to win tonight by rushing for 200 yards i don't think all right that's how ty feels all right that's how ty feels con man like you're going to win tonight by rushing for 200 yards i don't like the panthers so does ap tone chuck aj and myself will take the packers at home i am doing that strictly because i've made a decision to trail aj unless i grossly disagree on this one i don't think i can find myself radically disagreeing on the outcome but i am excited about an incredible game tonight i am excited about our boost potentially hitting yeah and i'm excited for us all to get on a little bit of a heater here as the rest of the nfl and college football season continues before we get out of here chuck first of all thank you so much for first of all great day out of you good coaching stuff good leadership stuff good dadding stuff good picking stuff good questions the harbor story was awesome yeah it's a great job hey good job good work charlie what the chuck you got up there and started dancing tone even had you from behind like a homecoming picture i mean it was lost your breath yeah i got real tired doing jameer gibbs's dance i mean it feels like it was a full day it's hard to do it is hard well it's hard to be jameer gibbs now yesterday because of how terrible aq shipley had been throwing footballs for these giveaways we switched over to a game called dunk now we don't know if we did the dunk rules right we made them up in uh kind of ourselves he ends up winning for 30 people 500 he was excited he was elated you are we sticking with the football toss or do you want to go throw some donkeys around i've been thinking about it ever since i saw you know aq you know pull that off and win money for the peeps um i've been throwing a football for a long long time and i got to thinking about it pat and it reminded me of a story okay okay public challenge it's it's it's similar it's got some good lessons some good meanings to it but before our 2014 divisional game at denver i talked to the boys the night before in the team meeting about an archer story and i got to thinking okay and i had the bullseye up there and the archer that shoots for nothing never misses nothing's all on nothing's on the line no expectate what just goes out he never misses the archer that shoots for a brass buckle he starts to get nervous starts shaking a little bit a little bit of self-doubt comes in and then the archer who shoots for a pot of gold he sees two targets and he's got no shot and i'm sitting back there thinking you know when you start you know self-doubt fear of failure expectations i don't want to let the program down i don't want to let the people down that's why i can't hit this sumbitch i'm thinking okay use some of your own advice all right the archer just shoots for nothing never misses so that's what we're going to do i'm going to take that football i'm shooting for nothing today and we're making okay okay 30 people 500 bucks that's a lot more than nothing but i do understand where you're coming from i think the concept is about detached focus and maybe getting into a flow state and let's not worry about what the outcome is or what the prize is let's just worry about the process of getting the job done as if it was a monday or tuesday any other day and that's why the archer that you're talking about never won a damn thing but the archer that was able to make the brass buckle feel like it was nothing won everything and that's who you are today i love that 30 people 500 come on charlie all chuck's gotta do is push the one hoop that he's looking at instead of the two he had a little blurry vision before oh my goodness the archer the archer of infinity all you gotta do is repost it say something nice to somebody do the dance and put the easiest way to pay 30 30 people will win 500 because if our peoples if our peeps don't take that right and store that one oh they're gonna store it brother this is an all-time moment that was trust that unbelievable that was good motivation right there that was good inspiration that was also a good message for people like hey you just focus on what you can do don't worry about everything else you take care of yourself your job the rest will fall into place congrats to you congrats to the 30 random winners and we can't thank all of you enough for allowing us to do this for a living you're the greatest of all time be a friend tell a friend something nice it might change their life we're in this thing together chuck anything to say to the team great day great day great day great day great day great day happy halloween tomorrow i can't wait to see you all in costume coach signetti will join us tomorrow hell yeah i believe we also have nope not gonna give it away yet the archer of infamy oh i wish damien priest will not be okay yeah punishment martinez will not be here same person Summary:
