The Indianapolis Colts are in the midst of a dramatic, early-season trade fire sale aimed at restructuring their team and culture. Key players like Forest Buckner and Quentin Nelson are being traded to the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, respectively, in exchange for draft picks. This move comes amid growing pressure from fans and media, with the team reportedly seeking to reset operations after years of inconsistent performance and cultural issues. The decision to act now—before the trade deadline—suggests urgency, possibly to signal a new direction quickly or to respond to immediate demand from other franchises. Quentin Nelson’s high-value trade, one of the largest for an offensive guard in recent memory, underscores the market’s confidence in his abilities and the team’s willingness to sacrifice talent for future assets. Jonathan Taylor remains a core piece of the roster, with the team signaling intent to retain him as the centerpiece of a rebuilding effort. However, the rapid nature of the trades has raised concerns about long-term stability, leadership continuity, and the overall direction of the franchise. The shift reflects a broader reckoning in the organization, with changes in personnel, leadership, and culture. While the immediate impact may be chaotic, the underlying goal appears to be a strategic reset. Meanwhile, the broadcast highlights engaging baseball narratives, including the Brewers’ dramatic 12-inning comeback and the potential for pitcher Jacob Mizorowski to deliver a World Series-clinching performance, adding a compelling contrast to the football drama.
[MUSIC PLAYING] Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode. The Draft King's Thunderdough. On this walk Wednesday, October 28th, 2026, this sports program begins now football. It is the greatest, and there is a lot of action around football right now. We'll have Ian Rappeport joining us in about nine minutes or so to chitchat about the fire sale happening here in Indian
apolis as after we go off air. The forest buckner, one of our best players, staple and man, we traded at a number one overall pick for from the San Francisco 49ers. Trades, trades back to the San Francisco 49ers, which whenever we were out there for Monday night football, a lot of Niners people saying, hey, tell Buck, we want him back or whatever, tell Buck, we want him back. Fans saying, hey, we want Buck back. We don't like that we did that trade. We would like him back here. I think Buckner, a couple of weeks ago, talked about the same old song and dance every single year, how we're potentially a good team, end up being an ass team and we have no idea why it's happening. Potentially it's the culture that had been in there for the last 10 years or so. We move on from Chris Ballad as a general manager. Now we have an interim general manager that isn't actually an interim general manager. He's an assistant general manager where sweatpants, whenever he goes to games, has for this entire time. Now he's got more heat on him. He's trading Quinn Nelson to the Seahawks and now he's trading the forest buckner back to the San Francisco 49ers. We'd like to let the forest buckner know. We are incredibly happy for him, man. You're a good football player for us. Yeah, a neck injury with us. I mean, he put it all in the line for us. And whenever he was playing, he was great. He was a great leader. He was great in the community. He was great on football field and we couldn't win. And now he gets an opportunity to go back to a team that has super bowl aspirations, super bowl expectations and a culture that he knows very, very well. We get in return for the fourth round pick. Boom, take it. Hell yeah, take it. So now we have a third round pick, a fourth round pick and a fifth round pick and two trades of Quentin Nelson and the forest buckner are two best players outside of Jonathan Taylor. And we shall see how the entire rebuild goes going forward. Allegedly, Quentin Nelson will ask you in the report about this. Perennial pro-buller, all pro, man is respected by everybody. Literally, since the day he got into the NFL, was a top five draft pick out of Notre Dame as a guard. He is voted by his peers, by the fans and by coaches as pro-buller. Every single year, he played football in the NFL pretty much. And he gets straight away for a third and a fifth yesterday. And it comes out, he's on an inspiring contract. He was trying to get a deal done, I guess, all through training camp with the Indianapolis Colts. And I guess Chris Boward said, we're not paying you $25 million or $20 million, whatever you work. But we did pay Alec Pierce, the highest free edge of wire receiver deal of all time. And we did agree to Daniel Jones, $100 million in contracts. And we did agree to pay. So there's a lot of things coming out right now while it's all happening in real time. It makes us wonder, when? When are we going to be able to reset the entire operation? A lot of people wondering why we're doing it so early, have a couple of weeks. I keep saying we, because I'm a paying season ticket holder for the Indianapolis Colts. I was very lucky to be a member of the Indianapolis Colts. I appreciate Jim Urce, a lot for what he did for my life. And everything that happens out there, I'm my family here. I still live in Indianapolis. So whenever I say we, that's what I mean. I have no say in anything that's happening over there. I'm actually pretty intrigued by how it's all going and why it's all going the way it's going. So I'm watching alongside everybody else. But boy, Jonathan Taylor might be, I guess, the only piece now that we can get really, really, really valuable pieces in return. Now, she after came on yesterday and said, multiple times, they're not moving on from Jonathan Taylor. Now, what's he doing now with them? Oh, let's get in. Well, I was here, they don't want a long run guy. Maybe we wink, wink. Or we actually hold on to Jonathan Taylor and building around him. Because we still don't have a number one overall pick for next year. And we've traded away our two other best players. So it is a little bit of chaos. It is a little bit of craziness. But this is trade deadline season. So Rappport will join us and see who else is available, what else is available. And if Jonathan Taylor now is just not going to have Quentin Nelson, one of his best offensive linemen, what, you know, how does that all work out? I don't know. People wonder why we didn't wait a couple weeks until the trade deadline, maybe get more value as more people have injuries to the guard position, maybe, or the detackle position. So maybe instead of like four suitors or six suitors, maybe you're able to get better picks, I think they wanted to send a message everybody about what they're up to right now. I don't know if that's exactly the best business decision or whatever the case is. But we as coach fans now understand completely that we are set to suck here for a good amount of time. If we get the higher right, maybe we're able to flip the culture and get it going. There was a video of Carly Urse being interviewed a couple years back, I think I saw. And, you know, on the internet, who knows what's real and what isn't real. And they can make Carly Urse look exactly like Carly Urse and have her say things that she never said before. That is where we are technology wise. And fun little game, you know, that that's happening. But I think she said something about rebuilding about not wanting to overturn General Manager and head coach in the same year, you know, 'cause that's like a big deal. And if you look back to what happened with Ryan Griggs and he gets like, oh, Chuck's still here. Chuck was lame duck, for sure. I think Chuck knew that now. If you talk to Chuck, he had to win a Super Bowl or he was basically gonna be gone. But turning over at different times, I think Carly is spoken about in the past. Is she thinking the same thing here? Keep Shane Stuykin, so there is a little familiarity in the building, then you hire General Manager. Does that General Manager have to be good? Wish Shane Stuykin or is that General Manager basically come in and get a year to kind of look around see what they like and then move on immediately afterwards? Interesting situation and dynamic. And I guess everybody is in the middle of an interview process for not only the coats for next year, but every other team. - Yep. - Well, Jonathan Taylor's wife was keeping us updated on her TikTok about how the family feels about how crazy it is. Feels like her rookie year again. She said, "Everybody's getting traded. "We have no idea what's going on." Colts fans are very pumped up about the increase in ticket price for next year for the stadium. Whole new wear are coming right down the pipe. What will it look like? Rappport will tell us in five minutes. Talks tables here at Boston Conor and at Ty Schmitt, Ty Schmitt. It's not just trades happening. - No, it's not. - Hey, baseball delivered last night. - Big time. - We had a 12 inning massive win for the Tampa Bay race. I know you stayed up for every single swing and crack of the bat. There was an explosive and electrifying 12 inning that changes the entire series or does this delay it, Ty Schmitt? - Potentially changes the entire series. This is actually very similar to what happened back when the Red Sox beat the Yankees. Yankees beat the hell out of the Red Sox in game three, which is what the Brewers did to the raise, beat them 10-1. And then game four, the Red Sox win and extra innings, walk off the Yankees. That's exactly what the raise did last night. And boy, I'll tell you what, if you're a Brewers fan, you thought it was over. Cooper Pratt rookie hits a homer in the top of the 12th inning. And you know, the Brewers fans down in Tampa, we're going nuts. They're already thinking of, you know, how many ice cold Miller lights and core lights are we gonna be drinking at this bar that we've already drank out. And then in the bottom of the 12th, it starts, you know, pretty innocuously enough. That is the single that tied it. But Joe Ortiz, you know, the raise get this rally started by hitting a little chopper to third base. And he won hops Jake Bowers, the first baseman, which is something that the Brewers haven't been doing. Eventually Ben Williamson pinch hits for the raise and walks off the Brewers. They score two runs in the bottom of the 12th after seeding the lead in the top of the 12th. So they lived to fight another day and their reward is they have Jacob Mizorowski on the bump tonight for the Brewers. - Okay, so tonight Jacob Mizorowski down in Tampa again, 'cause the way they do their best of seven is two, three, two. - Right. - Okay, so three straight games down in Tampa Bay. The Milwaukee Brewers fans have moved in to Tampa Bay. - Pretty much. - Basically just kind of taking over a bar, drank it out. They've taken over the stadium in multiple different efforts and times. Tampa Bay tough place to play. They say though, as in a whole, is this Mizorowski putting this thing away or is Mizorowski gonna worry about a little bit of big mo maybe heading towards the raise? - I think so. I think this feels like, and again, anything can happen. The way that I don't think anyone thought the Brewers were gonna win three consecutive games to start this. Maybe people in Milwaukee did, but these teams are pretty evenly matched. But yeah, I think momentum wise. I mean, that's the thing with Mizorowski. His stuff is so good. Could he, you know, no hit them through seven innings here, but I think the raise are gonna be the rats tonight. You know, they're gonna work counts. Try to get him out early. I do think the raise are gonna win tonight and send this back to Milwaukee. And I think if you're-- Is the raise gonna beat Jacob Mizorowski? - I do. I do. And I don't know if they'll necessarily beat him. I think there's a chance this is kind of very similar to last night where it's tied going into late in the game. And then you kind of have to figure out, you know, who's gonna deliver the heroics if you're the raise, but I think if you're a Brewers fan, you're okay with that. Because I think you would almost rather win it in Milwaukee than win it on the road. I mean, you want to win no matter what. But yeah, I mean, the momentum in this series has definitely tilted. And the raise are one of those teams where you give them a little bit of life. Like they can really, you know, pounce on that and we'll see what happens. - Let's go to 9-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler, D-Butt. - Yes, I heard. - Couple good wood can really turn around entire series. Tampa Bay was swinging that thing last night. - Yeah, it was good piece of hitting late in the game. I was definitely watching this. Nothing like, it's not like playoff baseball. Every pitch means something, especially late in the game, you get pitch runners in there, pitch hitters in there. It was awesome. But I won't be excited to see Miz back on a bump tonight with a chance to clinch a World Series championship. But playoff baseball, it always delivers. - It really has been, and now I'm very thankful when it's not on a night that there's football. You know, like last night was a perfect night for World Series baseball. I didn't make it all the way to 12th. I was very surprised how that thing ended when I woke up this morning. - Yeah, I can't hit that Homer. 'Cause the announcer was kind of, you know, telling the story and kind of gas. I think he was four for five. I think-- - Yeah, he had an unbelievable night. - Three years removed from high school. I think they gave him like a million dollars more than like his drafts like that. It was great just carrying that kind of story leading up to it and then for that moment and then for the raise to get up there. - To wait in the World Series. - Yeah, that's what he thought, yeah, absolutely. - As he's running-- - Oh yeah. - They tell the whole story story book actually happening in front of you. Boom, it's a bomb. Go and run, but I just fucking won the World Series. - I was potentially like World Series MVP too with the way that, you know, like the night he had had that night and to hit the game winning home run. Like, yeah, he could've put that, and if you, you know, you went into World Series,
World Series MVP like this guy is a legend for the rest of his life, not that he wouldn't be in Milwaukee, but just in general, you know. Cooper Pratt, first rookie in World Series history with four hits in a potential clincher also stat about tonight's game. If Mizorowski was to clinch tonight down in Tampa Bay, he would join Sandy Kofax in Smoky Joe Wood. Wow. Wow. He's sub 2.00, he already in 250 plus strikeout, guys. Every time you're in Smoky Joe Woods conversation, one of the goats, you know, you're dealing. Mizorowski has had a phenomenal season, Sai Young winner, 100 in some miles an hour every single time he pitches. They're going to talk about this guy forever as a unicorn, as a workhorse, as a donkey of a man who can just go up there and throw it faster than everybody else at a sustainability level that we've never seen before. clincher in World Series would be storybook for the Miz as well here. Yeah, I would, and this I believe is his first start in the postseason that is in the game one. So not that I'm, you know, like obviously a lot of these starts he's had have been high pressure situations, but like a little bit different starting a game five than it is a game one where you know, you're, you know, especially if you're playing at home, it's like, if we lose this one, whatever, not the end of the world, like he wants to go out there and shove the night and end this thing tonight. So we'll see what happens. I'm very excited to watch the match again. Jackson Turio too. Yeah, he's unreal. I think because I saw him on a short list when somebody did with Bay Ruth, I think 10 hits in the world series. Yeah, 10 hits in the world series. So through what five games or whatever. Jesus. We, you know, Tarang didn't have a damn hit last night, but he are in the field. Yeah. Vacuum cleaner. Uh-huh. You just, yeah, sucking everything up. He does. Yeah. Everything with the wide mouth. Yeah. Exactly. He's one of those commercial grade wide mouth vacuum cleaners out there in a second. Now, he, that type of platinum glove in the infield would more than likely be a shortstop, right? Typically. Yes. Because what I see is him over there knowing exactly where everybody's going to hit somehow. I just got captivated by him. There was, I think, in the seventh or the eighth inning or maybe he made four straight plays. I mean, it was two, a couple of them double play, he turned real quick and a couple of throws. And he was like the focal point. Been on the show. We talked to him about him being a platinum glove. WBC. It was on display. It was on display last night. I mean, it's just outrageous. You said immediately this morning, though, probably going to move him the shortstop at some point. Because he's so good or is he's the maybe best second baseman with the glove ever that we're going to keep him over there? Yeah. It's a weird thing because I mean, growing up, he definitely always was the shortstop, you know, because you, your best player for the most part is either playing shortstop or, you know, center field, at least defensively. But it's weird that that sometimes guys can't make the move from second to short just because you have to range a little bit more and the ball comes off the bat a little bit differently. So it might be one of those things where it's like, hey, he is the best second baseman in baseball. At least defensively. So why are we messing with things and moving them over short? You know, it's hard to go from left tackle to right tackle, left guard to right. Exactly. Okay. Now that I understand baseball a tiny bit, tiny, tiny bit, your infield there is the offensive line of your team. Yeah. You could definitely say this. This is the trenches right here. All the routine shit that I as former or how I would formally view baseball as boring is a little chopper into the infield. You see one person bobble it and it's somebody's on first all of a sudden. Can't give teams more than three outs and then they steal and it's like, oh, these guys just got to do the boring in the hard and the tasking very routinely and shut up and do it. They're the offensive line or the defensive line. That's trenches baseball right there. So important to have that right. That's why it makes sense. Why it's hard to go from one side to the other because of how many reps and how many things are happening right there. Joining us now is our offensive line expert, our man who goes in the trenches every single week to tell us what's happening good and what's happening bad. Ladies and gentlemen, he is the color commentator for your Arizona Cardinals, AQ Shimble. Yay! Top of your NFL Vets Super Bowl Champion. I assume now that you're on the call for the Arizona Cardinals, congrats you're crushing it. We love seeing the clips. If you're getting excited for the lads or devastated for the boys, whenever that happens for Arizona, more than likely the ladder there. But I don't know if you've got a chance to see some of our top five headlines. Number five headline, which is actually our number one headline because we talked about the longest normally on Mondays, we're in a pound the rock era right now. Absolutely. And I think we called this early with the 13 personnel and the way kind of the formations and way offensive minds were kind of cooking with leverage and run ball. When you see something like this, is that make you excited or are we getting a little zipper burn? Do we think this is what football is now or how long do you see this being the case every single Sunday seemingly? Yeah, we talk all the time that football is cyclical, right? And so at some point, we are going to find a way to stop the run. But right now, we're still in the air of, hey, we're going to push the ball down the field. So we got to play two high shell. We got to play cover two two high safeties. Well, guess what? Two high safeties means anytime you got to check and there's two high safeties. We're checking to the run because we know we got a light box. We got six people in the box. And so I think the more and more you see two high safeties having to protect against those speed burners on the outside with all the skill that has been coming out of college recently with all these great wide receivers now. We can hand the ball off. We can go big personnel. We can go 12 and 13 personnel and the evolution of the fullback has come back. Okay. Being able to disguise cover two is such a weapon for defenses because as soon as you see cover two or know the cover two is happening, we have a run game with a light box that we're going to take advantage of the situation. Harrison Smith lined up down at the box because he wants you to think that we are not in cover two right now. You cannot run against us and in fact, they're masturbating you right into throwing what they want. Absolutely. I mean, when we get our game plan on Wednesdays, the biggest thing, there's 30 different checks and all those checks are one high, two high checks. So if it's one high, hey, we're throwing the pass. If it's too high, we're checking to the run. And now football is we're pounding time. Remember, we all hated the cover two that started happening because all these explosive offenses, all we were talking about for quarterbacks is, hey, got to stay. Just got to stay consistent. Just take the easy one, can't go broke, taking a profit. And all these quarterbacks want to do the deep shot and the cover two is just sitting behind it. The coordinator soon. What's that? The coordinator. They want to take the shots. Those, those, those, those, those, those, especially like prime time games, we used to have D. Quay. Hey, this guy, he's trying to get a head coaching job, right? He's going to take these shots. So the, the thing was make them go the long hardware. And that's what Tom Brady was so great at. He would get to the line. He would be a check with me. He's going to take exactly what the defense gives you. If we got to hit it off 35, 40 times this week, that's what we're going to do. If we got to, you know, throw short ones to my slot receivers and hit the tight end on semen and redone. That's what we're doing. It's supposed to like, hey, I got to hit these five chunk plays or these gadget plays. I got to get these in. And that's when defense is taking advantage of the state patient. And these guys can't help themselves on defense. I mean, no offense debuts, but they cannot help themselves. They, it's a world double count, right? We'll call. Let's go double count. Said, huh? Why did he? Why did he? And then now you see that Harrison Smith. Now he starts to show that he's going back and then it's like, okay, we got him. We got him. We're going to check to what we need to check to. I appreciate the fact that the coaches and coordinators also have their own Eagles. They want to score board. You know, we learned that about Cali Moe. But those quarterbacks are able to just remain consistent and boring almost and we're having success. They took patch bumps. Now patch bumps as they run game. So now they can't be doing it. So now he has a chance to take more shots. They continue to do as such or is it going to be Seattle Seahawks defense again and again and again against the Chiefs? We shall see. In a run game, era, trading away, maybe the best guard in ball would be certainly a difficult decision to make. Joining us now is a man who has a little bit more intel on what happened behind the scenes. As this fire sale from the Indianapolis courts seemingly just begins, ladies and gentlemen, he is junior NFL insider for ESPN and NFL Network. Now he's an author. What? And when it's coming out, I just saw that he announced he wrote a book. Ladies and gentlemen, he interrupts. They're exciting. They're exciting. They're exciting. Two pre-order years yet? Uh, yeah. Yeah, dude. So, yeah, I hopped on my book app. I said, I want book.com audible and I said, I need this page, Turner, where the cameras can't go. A year inside the NFL coming next dog. Holy shit. Next August. That's it. 2020. Who cares? I'm sure you get it. Come on. 2017. It does, yeah. Who cares? Order it now. You'll get it in time for next Christmas. Okay. Well, great fair. Great stocking stuff for next Christmas. Exactly. Where the cameras can't go. It's not written yet because it's partially about this season. So I can't write it yet because this season hasn't fully happened. Oh, I'm writing a book. Okay. So, the thing you showed us is just kind of blank page, kind of empty canvas. It's not, no, there are words. It's just not actually the book. It's a different book we put that cover on. Also, we actually can't judge that book by this fake cover. Okay. Got it. Okay. The cover's real. The book is fake. Now, it feels like the cover's fake because it's not real. That other book has been done. Yeah. Feels like that one's real. Yeah. That's the cover you went with. Well, we don't know. It's all work of progress. Okay. Yeah. That's a great. You. Okay. I'm heading right to my Barnes and Noble today to say I want something in August of next year. Hey, congrats, dude. I know it's a big commitment. I'm sure it's going to be unbelievable. I can't wait to get where the cameras can't go. Thank you for that. Let's go to where the cameras weren't when the decision was made for the fire sale for the Indianapolis Colts. Now, Ed Dodd shows up as the first time assistant general manager and head of personnel without an actual general manager above him. He shows up in sweatpants. I get a little bit flabbergasted, I would say, but you weren't happy with that. Not happy. I was just flabbergasted. I dress like an asshole on plenty of different occasions. I'm not an NFL general manager or representing a billion dollar franchise or having to make trades with people that maybe are those types of duty people. But on that note, he has made some moves now. We would assume alongside some others how have we got to this space of yes, we are doing this. And why do you think they're doing some of our best players right now, as opposed to maybe waiting a couple weeks before trade deadline to maybe or potentially build up a little bit of
leverage. Alright, so we'll get to the first part, the last part first, so why now? So I think basically when, you know, they, we have all the stories on Sunday, everyone knows balance fired, all the stories on Sunday about the coach being open for business and teams knew that they were calling them, but the coach wanted to do was like, just get an idea after the game, maybe play a couple of games, just see what chance they have of winning. They go out, it's an ugly game, Daniel Jones does not play well against a really good Vikings defense, and they come in on Monday and teams are calling. And when teams start to call, like the San Francisco 49ers, I think that trade actually, it happened last, but it started first with the forest buckner, like they wanted him, they wanted him now, and really it's a matter of like, hey, you know, this, this is going to cost X, I believe the, you know, coach originally wanted a three of the 49ers original offer to five, basically how you get to a four, and it was like, well, we want him now. And if you wait, we might not trade for him, like we might just go get somebody else. And so what Ed Dodds and the coach did was say, we're going to take the burden hand, and we are going to just do the trade now. I think the same thing with Quentin Nelson, you know, the Seahawks were like, we want them, there were several other teams interested, I think that was a really, really hot market. But if you're a team that knows you want to put the resources to trade for him, you want him now just to get him playing for you. And that kind of creates the urgency. Okay, creates urgency. A third and a fifth round pick, I believe is the most that a guard has hauled for in a long, long time or something like that. A lot. Okay, that is a lot. The sportsbooks actually moved 100 points, one from 11 to one plus a thousand to win a Superbowl, and Quentin Nelson got trade there. That is a huge jump. Ain't you shipply? Got all upset that I said that that was a big deal yesterday from his offensive line, brain, interior offensive line brain. But I think people that don't know the future's odds for a Superbowl much, that's a huge jump for an offensive guard to make. We've seen quarterbacks get traded and not even any movement on the line. So like a guard having that much sway in a Superbowl pick or bet is huge. And I think everybody sees the same thing. Quentin Nelson is going to be perfect for the Seattle Seahawks, and Donald's mindset. And the fact that he wanted to get a deal done, right? Is that accurate? He wanted to get a deal done with Indianapolis this offseason. Is that true? Yeah, yeah, that is true. They had talks before can actually, you know, it's like when trade talks or when contract talks are going on, people will always say like, is it close? And I always say it's either done or not. This is one that with Quentin Nelson and the Colts, when Chris Boward was there, I really thought it was going to get done. And then it just never got there, Boward never got there. The organization never got there. And so like, yes, this is good draft capital to receive for the Colts, but really what you'd like to do is keep your really good players. Like, this is why the really good teams draft great players, sign them and then sign them again to make sure that the really good players are home. And like, if you wanted to know how high quality this guy is, like, this is a huge bounty for someone in the middle of the season. Like a lot of people want to this guy that the sea ox thing is like really, really going to help the run game. Yeah, and he's on an expiring contract. So he still has half a season left. But I would have thought we would be able to get a tour of one for this guy. Actually, I would have hoped for that. I think that's what a lot of people hope for because of how damn impressive he's been. You said it's a robust market as well. So you would think they'd be able to get something better for him. He is a phenomenal football player. It is a lease, I guess, by the sea hawks. But from what we understand about Schneider and from McDonald after watching Harna, he's going to love this guy. It's going to be he loved up there in Seattle, just like he was here. And then DeBot has a question for you. Is this a message to the locker room because Josh Dodgs just requested a trade. Get me the hell out of here. He said allegedly via Jeremy Fowler. Go ahead. Yeah, see the Jeremy Fowler tweet. I saw he reposted it as well. And this was a thought kind of going around. You know, coach, nation of building. I got reached out to about a bunch of people. Like what? What is what are you hearing? Like what's the message being sent to the players inside that locker room? You just filed seven team and now you see one of our best young wide receivers actually now demanding a trade. Yeah, I mean, those trade talks have been ongoing with Josh Downs. I kind of thought, honestly, that it might happen yesterday afternoon. It didn't. I know there's a couple teams interested. I mean, and you know, the there are some teams that are good teams that need a wide receiver. I mean, the chiefs we've talked about. I know the Steelers have been mentioned as a wide receiver team. There's going to be a market for Josh Downs. It's just a matter of when it actually happens. It's Wednesday. And you know, we actually this year weirdly have seen trades happen in the middle of the week, but usually trades happen Monday and Tuesday. So I don't know if it's going to happen this week, but I do believe that he will eventually be traded. And it kind of feels to me like he was going to be traded anyway. It's just a matter of, you know, can the teams get to a point where they're willing to offer enough or the cults take it. But I mean, again, like this is sort of like we talked about, you know, this would be his first contract or his first extension where his Quentin Nelson would be a second extension, but like, these are the guys you'd like to keep home. Yeah, like these are the guys you like to keep in the organization. Yeah, I think everybody's trying to get his wheels right now, man. No, I mean, now it's now it's whatever, but I'm saying that Josh Downs having his best year by far 10 games live. Yeah, and last year he was great as well. He's the only guy that we have that is seemingly open, consistent. You know, he's just open. That's the only way he can really describe him. And someone's going to really enjoy him, man. But you talked about it being Quentin Nelson's second extension. He was the second draft of Chris Ballard. Malik Hooker was the first first rounder. Obviously, he ends up leaving the coats. Quentin Nelson was the second first round pick for Chris Ballard's era. He'd been here eight years. He got two contracts. That's how long Ballard was there. I mean, we're talking about like people getting multiple contracts during a Chris Ballard era. And now we're learning about how it was all set up and how we get out of it and who was chosen to stay and who was chosen to move on from. Basically with these contracts, it's like, man, we're in a bad spot, bro. We are in a bad spot, the Indianapolis Colts. I would agree. Unfortunately. Okay. I'm feeling for you. Get in next your team. Okay. Let's talk a little bit about it. And on that note, here's a hembos stat real quick. Indytrains have jumped their draft capital from 30th to 30th. That's good. That is good. Okay. Now we have 38, 69, 82, 131, 132, 149, 174, 188, 222, 29. Okay. None of those are in the first 32. Yeah. Okay. You still see that. But we still have time. We still have time. Maybe a Jonathan Taylor, Josh Downs collab. You know. And then we get two ones from the war. I mean, if you're already just kind of selling off everybody was. Tyler war. It's not a big tree. See what we get for tower war. All right. Okay. Teams that are going to potentially be in the buying business of the fire sale that is happening in Indy and other places. Buffalo Beals. They need some defensive help. Detroit Lions. The Indians need some defensive help. How about the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears. Can't see a chiefs. Maybe the Jags. Maybe the Jags need a little bit of action in there. San Fran are to make some move. Minnesota Viking Seattle Seahawks. All people that could potentially be buyers at this entire thing you know, have already started purchasing. Wrap, we appreciate the hell out of you brother. Thank you guys. Appreciate the book pub. And thank you guys for all pre-ordering. That was awesome. Nobody's going to remember. That was this book pub. Really appreciate it. No, that's the thing you order it now. And then it just arrives in like a little bit. I don't know how that's even legal. I'm a lot of August 2027. That feels like putting it all away. Get it in. Get it in. You're the man. Ladies and gentlemen, that's Ian Rapport. Joining us now is a man who's probably writing a book or having a book written about him. An absolute stallion. A member of the bullring of honor for the Houston Texans. Also first ballot. Awesome gentleman. Ladies and gentlemen, the number one color commentator for CBS alongside Jim Nance, JJ Waugh. Yeah, Jay. Tough one last night, buddy. Geez. Geez. Brewers. Maybe tonight though with Miz on the mind. All right. I would. All right. Ties telling me this was happening. Yankees came back from down 3-0 against the, sorry, when the Red Sox came back because Yankees, whenever Connor celebrated it in the ALCS has never happened in the World Series. But there's a chance that all that momentum has been cracked right down the Tampa Bay team. I like the brewers too. Their friends are proud. I don't know anybody for Tampa. I don't question Murph. He makes the decisions. I don't question if we should have brought Miz in because there would be no today. If yesterday ended it, I don't question it all full faith and trust. Okay, I didn't know that was a conversation. So, wow. People are wondering if Miz was coming in. Yeah. No, there are some people saying that like he was managing not to lose game five instead of managing to win game four. You just can't make that move because if they somehow do lose last night and then you can't pitch Miz today, then it's a much different situation. So, I would agree with JJ there. You live and die by what Murph is doing and you would just accept that hey, we gave one back. That's the luxury of being up 3-0. So, they wanted to have Miz pitch yesterday. Yeah, and I also start yesterday. No, no, no, no. Come in like late like in extras. Have him just like go get loose in the bullpen and then come in and see if he can jump down. But getting loose in a bullpen I think from our understanding is that that would count as a day of him being full pitch. Yeah. If he goes last night, the chances of him starting today are like next to zero probably. Okay. And the game is tied at that point. Maybe it's a different. I mean, I saw some people were saying like, hey, you have him come in and close it at 12. What do you have enough time? But that's also he's not like you have McGill who has been
great all postseason. It's a it's a weird ask. We have a starter. Just hey, we need you to come close to the game. Jay just saying would have been nice though to potentially see. I don't question it. I'm just saying three outs. I'm not. I don't question it at all. I don't question, but the guy is unbelievable man. Don't question it all. I just do sometimes wonder. Sometimes wonder. It sounds like you're wondering it. We need. We need three outs of 315 miles an hour. Each better. Okay. We need 105 105 105 12 thinning there. They're not if you're gonna. They're gonna, you know, let's go back in here. So dead. I don't even think about putting me. What if you had time to warm up like when would you would he have been started to his warmth in the 11th inning? Then he would have started. Yeah. Yeah. While right after Cooper Pratt hits that homework, they would have sent him to the bullpen and he starts getting loose. Wow. Don't question. Merf. I'm not question. Merf. Nobody. Not me. Lose anybody. I'm not doing it. Skipper knows more. I would ever know about ball foul territory. It's fine. We got plenty of time. We're taking over drops down there. That entire building has just become Miller Park South. So good to go. I mean, the flights back and forth between Tampa and Milwaukee are just humming. Yeah. Another day in Florida too for the Milwaukee folks. Exactly. You know, as we head into fall and into winter, you can't blow the type of situation on one, one rally or a. Okay. So skips it. Trust big past. Trust big past. I would say, though, him, me waking up this morning to find an out that Mizorowski want jogging out in the bottom of it. That place would have won. Fucking ape shit. If that door opens, boom. The Miz comes. He's never been in that situation. Oh, but a perfect time to do it. World series clincher. Yeah. I'm not questioning it. That's good. That would have been a show of adrenaline. If he walks, but then like if he walks the first guy, there's a chance that it's like, oh, fuck, we made a mistake. Get somebody loose. Let's go. Let's go get him out of there. You know, I should have known that this was the combo for baseball. I would have done a whole first hour on the thought. Their bullpen's been so good. That's why you can't really, that's why you can't really question it. Or leave Ashby in there. Yeah. You can make that big action. Take it to Ashby's crushing. All right. Let's do fantasy baseball where health of humans doesn't actually matter. Let's say it's a video game stuff. Okay. It'll be the show where Miz could wake up every day and pitch. Then he's coming in in the sixth inning last night and he's throwing six minutes every day and then forever. Okay. All right. So let's put some qualifiers on that. How does this work? That would like him to start. Okay. Let's put some qualifiers into this conversation then. I love the tie went to the six days. I'm coming to say, well, why wouldn't we just start it if there's no a single game? Okay. So there's no health limitations. Let's percentage is there. I think we got to get back to that conversation. That guy's your peer. Okay. You guys are awful, awful, awful, awful. We all do. Okay. I believe he said it. What couldn't I look, my favorite tweet was, couldn't waterboard this information out of me. I agree. I saw that one. Maybe laugh pretty good. There was a couple others that want the bat for Dano, you know, I think I'd be able to freely ask questions. That's what people are saying. Yeah. Even dumb ones. I agree. But if you're in a position of authority and I have the answers and you don't every once in a while, I don't think you should let out that you guys all know something that I don't know. You know, just in that world, I don't think. But there's people going to bat for Dan saying, what do you say and make sense if these dipshits at the Pat McVee Show didn't really talk over them. And then it was nice to see everybody kill that guy too. Yeah, we get absolute idiot. Yeah, we did. We get multiple. He had us up into the word, like the percent word, like, okay, but then when he went on with the hymn books, then he was like, four out of every hundred. Yeah, everybody. That's not the word itself makes sense. I can understand that. We appreciate Dano though. We appreciate Dano being the guy he is, you know. And this is probably going to be a part of his entire bit. Now that he understands, like, yes, with some math equations, you have to add context to it. Yeah, like percentages, you have to add a little context. This is just like a baseline for everybody to compare to now Dan knows that. And for that, we're happy with Dano. Now the percentages of the miz coming in the bottom of the 12th and getting three outs and winning the world series. What is that? A hundred? No. Not a hundred. Absolutely not. The fuck it's hard to do that. And also the rats don't die. They don't. He's kind of questioning the decision skipper made. Every brewer's fan is in that position. You don't do that. You're up three nothing. Okay. You eat that one last night. That stinks. And then guess what? You have a one hundred percent fully rest fully rested miz on the bump today. Okay. They are the better team. So they should win. You know, it's like, I'm on your side. You know, baseball. I'm more than I do. But boy, in my head, they blow that last night and then he can't pitch tonight. Or he, let's say he throws 40 pitches last night. And that basically counts as a start. So we can't pitch today. They're probably not pitching him on two days rest in game. And then all the sudden, it's like, oh shit, it's game seven. We got to throw. We got to throw miz now. But his, his, his, you know, like his routines all messed up. You know, you're not a normal rest. Like that, that, that would be Murph panicking big time. And being like, okay, we, we got to push all the chips in the pot. No, you don't, you're up three nothing. You don't need to do that. All right. I, I trust good. That's why Pat. That's why Pat gets the big box. That's why he makes the decisions. That's why, I sit on the couch and I watch. I'm a fan. I'm just chill. I get it. If I was a bruise fan, I would have been like, why the fuck is it miz coming into the game right now? I would have. It sounds like that. We trust Pat. We trust Pat. We put the beer on ice for one more night. We just leave it there. Don't worry. And we get a whole, we get a whole miz experience. Exactly. We get a whole miz experience tonight. And he'll, he'll throw here now, right? Yes. He's the starting pitcher. But I'm saying normally they pull him out and they have a multiple different times, like four or fifth because they have good bullpen. Want to keep them going. He tonight is, this is it. Well, this is the last start. Or would he still do game seven? No, this will probably be his last start. Now, if it goes to seven, though, then yes, I would assume that he is available in the bullpen. Here's JJ one, that's not going to seven. This is new school. There's JJ one is a teenager here. Wow. How old are you here? Jade 13, 14, 15. That's that's that's a wild back, man. That's great. Shout to Hembo. He did a little internet splunking found this one of a youth, uh, JJ, hidden dogs down there for the Milwaukee Brewers. I assume I didn't know lifelong fan. I appreciate and respect that. Oh, yeah. I've been the county stadium as a kid out in the bleachers with the glove. The whole works, man. I've grown up on stadium sauce. I'm brought in hot dogs in there. Like there's this little field in front of Miller Park, American family field. Sorry, Miller Park. I tried to buy the sign. I didn't didn't work out, but I wanted to buy the sign after Miller Park. Who got it? Some other guy as some other woman or man who's a billionaire got that thing from me. I assume that was a hot commodity. Yeah, no, I don't know where it ended up. I just know it did not end up in my possession, uh, which was a little sad. But anyways, yeah, lifelong fan literally, um, so this is really, really cool. Like I got to be in Houston, CD Astros win it during Hurricane Harvey and everything that went on there. Okay. And now having a chance to see my childhood team when it is pretty awesome. Yeah. Pretty awesome. Especially in the state of baseball right now where the CBA is getting negotiated and they say, you know, all the teams that just dumped deferred billions of dollars into their roster, the only ones winning. And then the Brewers, like, hey, this is how we play Tampa Bay race. Same exact way. And it's only a matter of time for the Pittsburgh Pirates go from winning. How many games in one season? Uh, 82 this year to over 100 plus. Right. And then we're off and running. It's over 500. Yeah, you're right. Pittsburgh Pirates about to win this thing just like the Brewers did. So we have the same situation as they. Yeah, except you guys are in the same, identical, which is why it's a little bit tough. We have the same, like, a caliber skipper. We have the same, uh, pitcher, pitcher. Yeah, it's part of the pitcher. You got used to it. Yeah, you got me. Yeah. Nice to join us. Let's move along. Let's move along. He's back. He's all the way back. Jay, just a little football. Good luck to your Brewers. We thought we were part of that team as well. They've been very kind to us. I like, I like the skipper, uh, made the decision made. I like the decision made so we can experience all of the mists tonight. Unless what's that? Unless the mists? He's done his leg body. He's not going to go back to Milwaukee. I was on C2, all next three, three, four, seven. Oh, no, but I don't think that's going to happen. You know what? I watched hockey instead of the World Series last night, but I still don't think that's going to happen. Okay. Well, that's because your Red Sox had the year that they had. We need to lead to get into a world series so we can watch him do his thing, but I would enjoy the hell out of the mists tonight. Let's get to NFL. You watch a historic second half. I do believe out of Joey Burrow and that Cincinnati Bangalos team is past weekend. AFC North, everybody's above 500. You start doing the projections for the playoffs. Uh, AFC North has a lot of representatives and the only team that isn't in already is lurking behind. What'd you learn here? And, uh, Lamar Jackson, I believe is back. I believe he is back on the field, which is great news for the Baltimore Ravens. How do you feel about where this Bangalos team is this year versus maybe years past where we knew they spent a lot of money on flashy toys, but weren't going to be able to really win into playoffs if they got there. Do you feel definitely about them this year after watching them getting to know them a little bit here? Yeah. I mean, I think there's the first thing you look at. You obviously already know about Joe Burrow, T. Aginz from our chase, and that second half was insane. Like, uh, very rarely have I seen a first half to second half discrepancy the way I saw on this game. Um, first half, they did a whole bunch of under center stuff trying to establish the run, and they've heard a lot of talk about that. They talked about it a lot during the off season about establishing the run and trying to be more balanced in their in their game. And at half
time, they clearly just went in and said, screw it. We have Dramar Chase, we have T against we have Joe Burrill. We're going back in the gun and we're throwing this thing through the air. You can't stop it. And they couldn't. It was just that's what they're going to be. That's who they are. They have these playmakers. I really do believe like just turn it into a shotgun and chuck it game. Now, I know there's some rumblings about maybe a Jonathan Taylor possibility to add to the offense. There is so many good playmakers on the outside and also the run game just isn't hasn't quite been there. I don't even know if that's something that's truly necessary. Their offense is dominant. And what are you questioning? I'm just saying. I'm just saying. You got a sense of bangles. I'm just now in my mind kind of pieced in a whole thing together. I'm a sea of viking. Think it through. Think it through. Maybe sake one of the bangles two rumors. I mean, think about what they had on defense. Like their defensive additions have been unbelievable. You got Dexter Lawrence with four sacks. You got boy and mafia out in the edge crushing it. You've got Jonathan Allen. Nobody runs between the tackles on them. Jonathan Allen and Dexter Lawrence. Oh, scout incredible players and getting to the quarterback. They've they're doing a really nice job. DJ Turner on the back end is locking people down. And then the underrated player of their team that's not getting anywhere near enough credit nationally is a Mario's Mims. They're right now. He is left on an island more than anybody in the league and he shuts people down more than anybody in the league. Hey, you like this guy? Hi. He's a massive human being. He's playing right to act. Well, he's so good in past protection. But like JJ mentioned, right? Like they have been trying to get the run game going. It's one thing that they are missing. I think that's the only thing that they're missing on offense. But again, Mims has been on an island. He's might be the best past protecting lineman in the league right now. Who begin to trench you right now? Yes, protector of the year. I mean, having we trenchy. Yeah, halfway through. He's been unbelievable. Okay. I like that. AFC North has great offense aligns, including Cleveland Browns are up there at the top, which you love everything they do. Cleveland Browns are doing unbelievable things on offense, rebuilt their entire offensive line. Five new guys. I think Pittsburgh's playing unbelievable up front. Baltimore, I think, has the pieces once Lamar comes back. Yeah, that's a really good division. Hey, that's what the north does. That's what the north does. Change. Now, there's a couple other groups not getting the credit they deserve because one of them is so far away. I think we watched a show the other night that has to be respected and appreciated. Go ahead, Debut. Yeah, Jay-Jay, they got chief Bronco. So I suddenly you start breaking down that tape and I'm sure you've never seen Patrick Mahomes in that offense look like they did against that Seattle defense. Are you more concerned going for it with the chief's offense or more impressive blown way by that dark side defense over Seattle? Impressed by the dark side defense. I think the chiefs, obviously, they're going to figure it out. They played well. They're missing some of their great players and they're going to get some guys back healthy. Maybe make some moves who knows and trying to add to that offense. But that was a historically bad performance for them and I don't expect that going forward. But I do have such an immense amount of respect for that Seattle defense and Mike McDonald and everything that they do from Nikki and Worry being used all over the place and just this insane Swiss Army. To the biggest thing about their defense is their ability to stop the run with just the four guys up front. So those detackles sitting so tight against those double teams, they use the drop in knee technique, which I love as a detackle taking on the double team and they are able to stop everything up front. So then you can do all these different things behind when your guys up front are so darn good. >> Do we think it's a mentality thing like McDonald because Quentin Nelson gets traded to this team and after watching hard knocks, what a perfect addition for him just the way he goes about his business. That defense, they are, I mean dogs, you listen to him speak out of the Super Bowl parade. They got no problems not being known, but they hate everybody and they know they are better than everybody. Even Worry said when he was asked afterwards by Melissa Stark about Kenneth Walker coming back in the 100 yards rushing game streaky had going or something like that. And his first response is like, I think we had some sort of street two or like it's like 35 straight games not giving up 100 yard rusher. He said, we didn't lose any sleep about it. It's just another day to do our thing. And he talk about him being a freak. He's dropping the coverage. He's rushing to pass her. I mean, he's unbelievable. Chris Collins were a total incredible story about in 10th grade. He goes into the gym or something and it was workout after practice. And the strength coach said, if you can jump up and touch the ceiling of this gym right now, we won't do an extra lift or whatever. He jumps up smack the ceiling. So I guess like even Worry since his entire life, just like best athlete of all time has the dog mentality. And they're all like that. I love the way Schneider's built this team. I like the way McDonald's coached him as well, JJ. They're, they're a problem out there in the Pacific Northwest, JJ massive problem. And it's the technique also. Yes, they have incredible designs and schemes and things like that. But the way that they teach the technique there and the way that the guys play the technique with hands, feet, eyes that's just execution is at such an incredibly high level. They deserve a lot of credit and a lot of coaches get credit for their schemes when they draw up cool things. But these guys play with fantastic technique as well. NFC West, you know, has a couple offensive gurus, got a couple of defensive gurus. They got battles out there. San Francisco 49ers just added another piece back to their repertoire. Go ahead, AQ. Yeah, they bring Raheem Morris out and doing a couple different things on defense than solid did, right? But now they haven't been with Nick Bosa. And now you add DeForest Buckner to the mix. He goes back to San Fran. What does he bring back to that defense and will he immediately give them a pass rush from the inside? Yes. The forest Buckner is playing as well as I've seen him playing his career. He is playing phenomenal football. I mean, I know you've watched it up front and close with the Colts, but it's the way that he's playing the effort that he's playing with the speed, the swim moves, the pass rush. He is he's playing outstanding. And now you take him from a team that's struggling and you put him on a team who's in the race for the Super Bowl. Like, and he's going back to a place that he's had success. I mean, he's got to be a pretty happy man right now. And I love watching this guy play and I can't wait to see him do it again in this defense now. He goes back to the team that obviously Super Bowl expectations every single year. Super Bowl environment in the building, you know, a place that he's comfortable with. He's been two in 12, it was like the culture two and 12 in our last 14 games. I'm so happy for him because like we had their game against the Steelers a couple weeks ago and he told us the story of he was going to retire. He came downstairs one day and told his wife. I think it's I think it's over because he had the next surgery and he was going through the rehab and it didn't look like the outlet was was rough. And the rehab process was tough and she literally told him she was like, well, hang on a second here. Let's make sure you get your rehab taken care of first from a medical and financial standpoint. So stay don't retire until you're done with the rehab. And so as he was going through the process and everybody in the building laid it out for him and they did an incredible job getting him back. He kind of re you felt good and he came back and now he is truly playing some of his best football ever. So I'm just happy we get to watch him continue to play and I'm happy he's getting a chance to compete. This is 30 yards down the field. He's detackled. He's big he's the biggest guy on the field as well. He's incredibly tall. Mark's very old. It just gets caught from behind. I mean, he is an absolute igniter of our team. Now the neck injury. He's out for a long time. He had a couple other injuries too. In the past, he's playing in the trenches. He's a big guy. A lot of hits. Things are going to happen. But there was a time for our team not in the last, you know, couple seasons where when he was on the field, we won. And then when he was not on the field, we lost. It was like the easiest indicator when the force button was playing for us. We win when he's not on the field, we lose. He was phenomenal in the community as well. We will we will we will miss him mightily. I mean, we will miss him mightily here. And it's a full rebuild at this point, but Jonathan Taylor's not available. It's going to be like being in that building has got to be tough right now because you clearly see what happens. There's some there's some teams that are struggling like the dolphins or somewhere where you talk about building towards the future. You talk about, you know, we're we're working towards like right now in that Indianapolis Colts building. They are just tearing it down to rebuild it later. You are not currently actively building towards the future. You are building towards a more chest to build for the future. That is not a fun place to be for the rest of this season. Josh Downs has requested a trade to your point. That happens. That's necessary. Josh, you know, we know. Okay. What's the necessary. So long time. A lot of football. We haven't got to November. As you say, it's one thing where you're you know, you're tanking in this week 15 and you know, you got your off-season plans and it's like, all right, am I going to hold off this surgery? I'm going to get this surgery, but like it's 10 weeks 10 weeks left. Mathematically, you're not out of it. You know, so you know, that whole thing. But I mean, that's a long time to be in the building. You know how it is showing up, especially once it gets through this point, the season starts getting cold and shit outside. And now you're just showing up and you know, it's a disconnect. And guys probably don't want to be here. Guys want to go and get to like, that's a coach. Everybody's come to me. That's way, that's the way through the season. That's tough. It's not so the season. Not even November. It's not even November yet. Not even Halloween yet. One thing you're going to do for their holiday. We canceled this year. What? Well, the person that's hosted it's. What's the over under on the amount of colds games you attend the rest of the season? Well, I'm a surprise season to go. How many are left? You could be 100% attendants. I'm not asking the question. You have a pretty crazy schedule. The Sundays are nice. Could be a nice little. Don't get to watch all the other games as much because I'm enjoying the Indianapolis colds. There will certainly be a lot of potential reasons to not go, but they're not like being down in a lot of us. Yeah. You know, it's a city of Indian, well, I don't even know if it'll be the city of Indianapolis going forward. I assume we'll become the Tampa Bayes ballpark with, uh,
Milwaukee Brewers fans filling up that place. We're going for the other team now. We talked about this. Cowboys are coming to town. Can't wait to watch that can see D. And we'll see Shoddy. Yeah, Shoddy's back in there. Yeah, yeah, it's something, you know, it's a good community event. It's a long time. It's a good place, man. It's a good fan base, great building. Love it there. It's going to be a tough sled here. We're closing the doors. We're making it just a room. And we're hanging out at the game. OK, fire place. Turn the fireplace on. Get the fireplace rolling early this year. We I still don't know if that's something that's real. You know, you know, they did call it the Luke Soil Lobber. There for a while, because it's not quiet, it was. And then the fireplace would play. And JJ said, this makes me feel good. Like I'm coming home actually. Well, the fire. Yeah, you loved it. Yeah, but it had been a lot of hospital last few years. In last year, I'll remind everybody, September, October, football, that was a cold Super Bowl. Yeah, we're a number one team in the league. In this stage last year, best offense in the league last year at this point. Number one headline, every single Monday on every action money on this particular program. Culture and miserable. That's what I was. We looked apart defensively. We had guys everywhere who paid them. We're learning now who we're choosing to pay, who we're not choosing to pay, who we're moving on from, who we're keeping around. We had best offense. Daniel Jones is the best quarterback. He was going to win MVP potentially. He's going to win the MVP. I can paint his painting track. Jonathan Taylor was scoring a touchdown and a half a game. I mean, every single week, it was remarkable. That was just one year ago. So I would like to use us as an example for other NFL fans. Enjoy it. Yeah. Enjoy it if it's going to be holding on to last year's first eight weeks for the next five years. No, it ain't a half a decade situation. It is. You can make one good hire in one of these spots and all of a sudden, the culture shifts, and you get guys to buy in. And all the little things that you need to be great are done, as opposed to maybe overlooked by a majority of the team versus the superstars that we're getting out of the building right now. I'm sure Quentin Nelson was an attention to detail. Accountability driven tough guy, okay? Great to get him out of here. Yep. The Forest Buckner. I assume that was the same thing. I assume the Forest Buckner never missed a meeting, never missed a treatment, never did anything. We got to make sure we get him out of here. Josh Downs. Okay, Josh Downs. It's the-- It's been a pro since he's-- He's been a pro right by you, mentality. That's the mentality. It's do right by the guys that did right by you. But it's a business at the end of the day also, you know? Yeah, and we got a guy who's the head of personnel and assistant general manager, he's not an interim general manager. Shut up and sweats at the game. I love it. I love it, okay? I appreciate him being himself. And maybe it's the shirt underneath or maybe because it's not like a clean sweatsuit. That was a little alarming to these eyes. You know, these eyes were certainly a little-- Oh, come on. I know. I said it. I dressed like an asshole on a regular basis. And I even was like, what it was? This guy done. You're a general manager. You took the joke right out from under me. You pulled the eight mile. You pulled the eight mile on me. Yeah, check the ball. Fuck my girl. I mean, the whole thing, bro. I understand what you were going to say. But no. I'm not a general manager. I don't know what's in the bag. I want to know what's in the bag. Blowny sandwich. No. It's not a below. Orn slices for half time. No. It's always ideas on who we could trade. This guy, I was told by the building. Somebody from the building reached out to me and said, hey, take it easy on it. He's a good guy. Okay. Yeah. What would this guy do? I don't know. We just showed him seven times lock it in and sweat. Sorry. He's just trying to work, man. He didn't fire the guy. Yeah, but the guy that got fired was like his, I mean, he's very tight with. So my immediate reaction is like, oh, this guy's not going to want to move on from all the decisions that he was a part of making as well. Like, it's kind of on him. It's kind of intact. Oh, general manager. The ball band, George. I agree. I agree. The building told me though, hey, you don't think this guy? Is he going to go on to be a GM sometime? I'm like, I don't know. And they're like, well, that's the way it's being talked about. This is his opportunity to showcase that he could be a general manager. He's going to try to get everything absolutely right. And they also told me that I would really like this guy. If a little too much of the, hey, take it easy, he's a good guy. Like are we trying to win a Super Bowl or are we trying to win a fucking Nobel Peace Prize? Like I'm tired of hearing, oh, he's a good guy though. He's a good guy. Who cares? Guess what? Some GMs are assholes. And I bet those guys win. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, people are talking about Bill Bell check. Yeah. He's a really good guy. He's a great guy. Like, well, no one says that, but he also won, you know, seven Super Bowl. So. Yeah. I don't know how many Bill Bell checks are out there. We're going to find the next one. No. Well, that's what's really something. If there are five jobs, you know, and let's say there are five coaching candidates, where do you think the Colts fall without a first round pick this off season and without a really long term audition? Where do you think they fall on those five? Just our draft capital move from 30th to 13th. You still know first. What's that? Still know for it. You're still not even getting a top 30 plus look at the stats. Look at the stats. We run from 30th to 13th. I'll have you know, Jade. Right there. 38, 69, 82, 13, 13, 13, 14, 9, 174, 188, 22, 229. Right there from 69. Pretty good. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. Thank you to 220. That's where you. That's where you build your team. That's true. We'll get a first later somewhere. There's going to be people that are drooling. We got a big salary cap. I think we have like the number one this year that's left. Not that we're going to use that. We bailed on a lot of contracts. Next year though, I think we have top 10 salaries, top five. Top five. Top five salary. I wonder if you guys will be able to find just like a stalwart offensive line in that you could have for the next like 10 to 15 years on that old line to just set the culture and be a guaranteed great player in that spot. Maybe you could find a detackle, you know, that can get after the quarterback or chase people down the field. A running back. I think you could find some. Maybe. I think you could find some in there. Maybe like the best running back. People are saying the 38 pick is the pick to have next year. Not one or two. So you can get a wide receiver that's young and can get open. Mm-hmm. They're going to trade three of those to go up 38 69 and 132 for number four to go get a guard. Mike single two. 30. That's exactly that. Whoa. That's what we're talking about. Yeah, that's what we're talking about. Sage, last question here from the Lads, because it is a problem and I love the way you and Tom Brady are operating on the call is because you guys are Hall of Famers and it actually does have some sway. Go ahead, Tishman. Yeah. JJ, roughing the passers, a very serious issue. You guys had one really bad one in your game that got picked up eventually and then, you know, burrow gets hit by one of his own linemen and then the Packers Lions game just had several really bad ones. It happens multiple times across the league every single week where it seems like some chicken shit roughing the passer gets called and it inevitably always leads to points for the other team. Is there really anything that can be done with this? I don't think it hurts when guys like you and Tom Brady are, you know, kind of publicly bitching about it during the call, during the game, but like, what can be done here? Are they going to change this? Have you heard anything like, is there any even communication about like, hey, we really need to kind of like fix this or clean this up a little bit? I absolutely loved in our game that they overturned that one. It took maybe a little longer, but it's it got overturned. Very happy about it. I mean, this play, they threw a rough in the passer flag and now I give ref spread because he's standing behind the quarterback. So all he saw was that something hit the quarterback's face and go backwards in his head snapback and so the ref throws that flag and now I can see that. I can understand why you might throw that flag. I was so happy because I was already halfway into my rant that they picked that flag up, which was great. Now some of these other ones like, yeah, we really have to stop with the ridiculousness of this. Third done. It's always on. Third done, Jake. Every third down. I think Dan Erlovsky mentioned this. I believe a couple others have mentioned it. We're all holding our breath on third, every third down basically and then more often it's not. Yeah. And if they had better balance, I would fall too if I was the quarterback because I know I'm going to get to flag, but that's absurd. I'm on a short circuit here watching this. >> I don't want you to short circuit and I know we all know these refs, okay? These refs don't want to be a problem. These refs, they have egos, they have families, they have lives to live as well. So they don't like getting spotlighted as being doofuses and ruining the game, okay? They don't like that. We need to utilize everything we possibly can to help them. I know we're slow rolling into the technology because we don't want to have a radical change on what is allowed to be reviewed, what's not allowed to be reviewed. We should be trying to assist these guys as much as possible and we should also have a little transparency in the conversation so then when we hear somebody like, buy a letter of law. >> It's been in his wild, sorry. >> Wild. >> Yeah, it's all you go crazy about this one as well. But if we were able to utilize the technology and never say, buy a letter of law, yes, context actual play, no, we're going to pick this thing up. I think we should do that. I think we should be confident enough to do that for the good of the sport. That's a lot of judgment shit that we're putting a lot of power into people's hands and who are those people that are making the call to like, yeah, let's pick this up for the good of the game. But it's like, something has to have a little bit of, some of these refs have no feel for the game. It's not on them, but they just have no feel for what it is. So they can only go off of letter of law in book and it's like, no way are we calling that right now. They don't, they don't have a third down to extend the game. One in the fourth quarter to maybe ice a game like, there's no feel really from some of these guys. And I don't know if that's fixable other than people being able to radio down into them. Yeah, that's right. Replay assist has proven to work every single time I've heard a replay assist call where they either pick up a flag like they did for the Joe Borough rough in the past that clearly wasn't rough in the past. It works. And it feels like if they don't do those replay assist, hey, guess what? That's what the refs were getting asked about after the game. Even if you're a ref!
and you're like, you know, hey, this is my game. I'm calling it the way it is. I don't want replaces. It's like, dude, they're going to ask you about these calls that we're going to help you with. Like, JJ was freaking out about that cup block that turned into a chop block penalty on third down. That Zack Taylor then used one of his timeouts to continue to berate the refs rep about because there's no way that is what the call should be, especially in a spot like this where the Cincinnati Bengals are going to get the ball back. - Yeah, you talk about some of these big time calls. I mean, offensive holding, I'm sure you've seen this. Offensive holding penalties through week seven, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. It's has a 53% increase from what it was. And those 10-yard penalties, that's first in 20, that's second in 17. - Still not enough, still not enough. - Those need to be five-yard penalties. Don't listen to this biased man right here. But I generally think in the box, in the box, offensive holding penalties should be five yards because you can call it on every single play-- - Every play. - You call it on every single play. And it's an immediate drive-ender. I mean, there's not a lot of plays for second in 17, first in 20. You're just hoping to gain some yards so you can punt it back. But if you call it, it's over. It's like, that should be a five-yard penalty. But I think what we're all saying is, we understand it's a difficult job. Guys are bigger, faster, stronger than ever. And by the letter of the law, there's some shit that needs to be called. We would just like a little bit more feel. And if we can help them, let's do that, right, Jayge? - Yes, that's what I like. I'm that Detroit one, like I said. So happy in our game, they called it back. I would love to see a few more where they radio down and they say, I'll pull that one back. - Let's let him play football. Hey, Jayge, you're the man. Thank you for joining us. Can't wait to follow along the rest of the year. Good luck to your brewers and ours, I guess. - Go brew, brew. - Let's go brew, brew, brew, brew. - Let's go miss, let's go miss. Jayge was wondering about last night's strategy. Didn't say it publicly. He would never do that to Skipper. Maybe they win tonight. That's Jayge, what we appreciate. - Jayge! - Jayge is the man. No press conference this week to talk about international football. Good for him. I would too on the other side, which Amir Gibbs joining. - Woo! - Amir friends, I'm nice and my change in life. We'll see you on the other side. Goodbye. (funky rock music) - Football! - It's always interesting in cooking the World Series could crown a champion tonight, just like they could have last night. The Tampa Bay rays get a must win in the bottom of the 12th after the brewers take a lead in the top of the 12th. For an electrifying finish to game four, game five is tonight with Jacob Mizorowski pitching for the Milwaukee brewers. He has a chance to clinch a World Series with a sub 2.0 ERA and 250. - 250. - 250 plus strikeouts. If he was to clinch a World Series tonight for his team, he would join Sandy Kofax and Smokey Joe Wood. - Thank God. - That's right. - As the only pitchers in history to have those stats. And I want to let you know baseball has delivered for us. It's an honor to be a baseball fan. And I have a sense that they're not gonna not have a season next year. - So? - That's great news. - I hope so. - That's off of absolutely no information. - I know it is. I hope you're right, though. - Steven A. did that this morning. He was one of my favorite moves. I love catching up with Steven A. in person, by the way. I get a chance to chat with him on Monday night football. And just talk to him about everything he's doing right now, his world. You know, he'd been in Philadelphia for 17 years. As a columnist, I think it was for nine years or a reporter there. - About his teeth? - So it's a little bit of a homecoming back there, you know? And then Jerry Jones is there. So talking Dallas Cowboys. It was really a Steven A, you know, thing. Earlier today, he said, "I've been hearing things." I don't know if it's true because I haven't asked directly to the source. But I've been hearing things, and it's like, what he's saying is, hey, this is pretty much out. Then he laid out what he didn't know. But then he had a full on follow-up reaction to that. That has been kind of life in sports media for a long time. Sports is delivering to us in such a big way. Football has so much drama going on. We got trade requests happening. We got fire sales, we got sellers, we got buyers. We got magic happening in the sports world. And tomorrow, we have a finals happening in 1230. 12 year NFL vet, Super Bowl champion, player coach Jackie Moon, A.Q. Shippley's here. - Baby, here you go. - And as soon as I walked in today, A.Q. was already in here, great to see you, A.Q. A.Q. goes, 1230 finals for the WNBA. I don't like that. He said, "My daughter would like to be able to watch us. "She's gonna be at school. "She's not gonna be able to check it out." The future of basketball could be affected by this. I said, "Well, you're coming to have me kinda." We weren't a part of this conversation. We had nothing to do with it. I think everybody, though, has heard about this. Maybe that'll be a driver for people to watch it at 1230 tomorrow because of how ridiculous it all seems and sounds. The talks of tables here at Boston Conor Taishman, Ty, I know you're watching tomorrow. You're gonna be forced to because we're gonna be watching while we're doing this particular show and we'll be keeping updates. But the WNBA is cooking, the NHL is cooking. In the NBA, everybody's hurt. I don't know if you've heard about this. - I have. - Everybody in the NBA seemingly hurt. You're very early into the season. Don't love that, Ty. - Yeah, not good, especially when there have been so much momentum through those firsts. I'm one of those guys who I'm not really gonna pay much attention to the NBA now. We talked about season starts on Christmas and then you kinda, but it's been hard not to watch some of these games 'cause we've had several electric performances and it does seem just like every night like, okay, this superstar's gonna be out for two months. This guy's gonna miss two weeks. This guy's gonna miss a month. This guy's gonna miss six weeks. It really does kinda just, it kinda just cooks your goose a little bit and it's like, man, I don't even, I can't even look at it now. - Kinda burns your butter a little bit. - It does. - Yeah, kinda gets you going a little bit there. Yeah, I don't love that this is what it is. This early, Shoms will be joining us in about 10 minutes or so to break down everything happening. Nine year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler. - Yes, sir. - D-Buts, great time for sports. Also, great time for great talent in the NFL right now. Joining us live from an attic in Ohio is a man who's the all-time leading tackle for the Green Bay Packers. AJ Hawker. - Thank you. - Hawker, good to see you bro, a lot of trades have happened and potentially gonna happen since the last time we talk, we will have to dive into that, but it's delay no more. Joining us now ladies and gentlemen is a man who's being discussed as the best player in all football. A man is on pace for 470 touches this year. Which would be second all time behind Jacob Wilder, 1984. He had 492 touches. 415 of those were rushing, or rushes. So this man would have the most touches in the history of the NFL, both running and catching, other than Mr. Wilder in 1984 in the history, on pace to score 3,000 touchdowns. An absolute stallion, a stud. Ladies and gentlemen, the workhorse for the Detroit Lions. Running back, J. Mayor Gibbs. - And J. Mayor. - Do you hear all that, did you know? Did you know all those, that's 470 touches you're on pace for. That's what we can do now with modern math stats and calculators. That would be the most interesting, Jake Wilder. Maybe you should watch some of his film to see how he was able to close out the season. This guy was a pounder. He was a grounder and a pounder. - That's no idea who that is. - Oh, Jacob Wilder. We didn't just learn about him this morning either, J. Mayor. We knew about this guy, historic. Larry Johnson also up there in the talks for the amount of touches that a player would get from the running back position. Can we talk about this? You become the guy this year. David Montgomery obviously leaves the Detroit Lions, goes down to Houston. It becomes your backfield. Can you tell me about coming into the season your mindset was and how you feel at this stage of the season thus far? - My mindset always stays the same. Just be consistent with what I do. And it's not like I haven't done it before, like ever. So I mean, I was going to be putting too much pressure on myself about it. And in terms of body, my body feels good, I feel fine. - Okay, yeah, let's talk about this. You train every single year to be in the best shape of your life. You're touching the ball a lot more than you were last year. You're on pace to have, I think, 150 more touches this year than last year in total, which is a vast difference on the body. Can you tell me a little bit about how you feel and what you do to stay maybe ready for the hits that you're inevitably going to take? - Yeah, I mean, I feel pretty good right now. Coach Trois always tells me you get a cold tub, contrast, all that sand and treatment. It's really, it really let me be pushing me to stay healthy. - You're an abnormal athlete, brother. It is fun to watch your explosive dynamic and incredibly tough. Go ahead, AJ. - Yeah, Jimmy, I want to talk about like protecting the ball. Like I know this era that you have grown up in and you've played in, like these defenders are coming after the ball. They're hunting. We see the peanut punch almost every single play. I guess, how was that like, we watched JJ watch try to tell Jim Nance how running backs are putting another arm on like trying to protect the ball? Is there anything special that you do or that you picked up throughout your time in the league to protect against all these defenders coming after the ball? - Yeah, I mean, what I see in that, what JJ said, I mean, that was, I mean, that was right. That's how we're supposed to do it now. But the ball appearing and that thing is better for it. If you do put the wrist, yeah, I think it's safer. Part of it, taking out. - I run like a four, you know, four, four, five, four, five. - Sure, you know? Panta. - Yeah, really good. I'm timing myself when I'm running it. I don't know if I could run as good with the hand on the, this is just comfort, this is just what we gotta do. - I mean, that's like in traffic, though. Yeah, I ain't go around like that just out in space. - Not an open field here. - Well, I do, 'cause I'm super conscientious of the ball. All is the program, you know? And situational football is a big topic. Turnovers, massive ordeal. You guys offensively have been special. Also, a lot of big situations, determining the outcome of the games. You guys, little bit of a unique operation with your aggression, go ahead, Debud. - Yeah, you remember a situation of football. You see something week in a week out with something going right or wrong for a team. You guys with MCDC, Dan Campbell, very aggressive on fourth down. How has your mindset changed? Or has it changed since coming into the league and then where you are now? And then what was their conversation before you went down? Obviously, you couldn't score, but you went down.
down to kind of secure the lead in the win. Was there a conversation in a huddle before that? - Yeah, I think it depends on who you're playing or the situation. Going for a fourth down could be good or bad, but I mean, I like going for it. I mean, I play mad and it comes for a ball go for it all the time. So, man. It's more stats, more chances, you know, to put points on the board. So, and then you said-- - Telling down when you're out at the end. - Yeah. - Yeah, it was just, you know, a meal of time. I mean, just go down, waste of the club, make them use their timeouts or whatever. Or just, yeah, waste of time out and just kick the last of your full load. Just finish with the ball, the offense. - Yeah, but you know how selfless that is with how much time was left. You could score a touchdown, pad your own stat. - Yeah, look like it was the first time ever doing it, too. I thought you tore everything, you damn. - Knee, ankle. Yeah, we slot, do we work on a slide or maybe just go straight to the, to the ass? - The first time, the first time I did it better, I don't know what. My cleats just got stuck. Yeah, my cleats got stuck. First time did it better though. - We were all scared to death whenever you got up and you did a couple little like shakes to the leg and then they followed you. I don't know if you know this. They had close up on your ass, walking the entire, is he limping at all? Is it the dis guy just, you know, because we don't see that type of, you know, like buy into your team there just to get a win. Like, spectacular opportunity to score a touchdown. We talked about the 470 touches. This could be a history. Yeah, I love that. Are you always been like that? Is that just because of how Dan Campbell and the boys are up there? Like, can you tell me a little bit about the culture? - Yeah, we're really selfless, everybody on the team. No matter if you're getting the ball alive, if you're getting the ball of time, we're gonna do what's best for the team, always. - Tell me a little bit about that quarterback of yours. Go ahead, Ty. - Yeah, Jamir, what is your relationship like with Jared Goff? It seems like a lot of the stuff you see, he's very quiet, very mild manner, but then we'll see some stuff like in the locker room where he's pretty fiery, dropping F-bombs and stuff like that. What is your relationship like with him and what's it like being around him on a day-to-day basis? - We got a great relationship, that's big, bro. He's very sarcastic and almost everything. So you can't take what he says, literally, depending on what it is. That's what I learned, my rookie year, he always just joked with me, kind of tough, he was joking or not, until you know, I got to know him a little bit better. But yeah, he gets fired up, y'all start talking shit to him. He gonna turn it up, he likes to talk shit back. That's what I like to see. - Yeah, I like to see that as well. You got weapons across the board, playmakers all over the place, including, potentially maybe the most athletic tackle in the entire league. J-mo scores a touchdown, but that was not the topic. A-Q has a question for you, Jamir. - Yeah, give you a chance to talk about your left tackle and penn a soul, right? They, he runs a mesh route in the game. I mean, first of all, talk about how crazy that is. Secondly, was that put in just this week or have you guys been wrapping that for the whole season? - Yeah, that was just this week. He had a couple other routes, but he didn't want to run 'em 'cause he wasn't in the progression 'cause he wanted the ball, so. (laughing) He said, take those out. I pray I was side, it was on, I ran like a flat, and I was looking inside to see what he was doing, but he was running away from me. So I really couldn't see. - So we got a full, how many play, you don't have to tell us this. We should be expecting penn a soul to get loose out there though at some point. I hope so, at some point, you're getting a handoff or something. - What a freak athlete. That's the first draft pick of this entire era, right? - Yep. - The Holmes and Dan Campbell era. Foxy diehard Lions fan would like to say something to you, Jameer. - Yeah, Jameer, first and foremost, man, thank you so much for what you've done for the Lions, the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan, and Lions fans everywhere. Since you've gotten in the building, being a Lions fan is much more fun. I wanna ask you about a play that happened. That went kind of viral over the weekend. You guys draw the Green Bay Packers off sides, and then you all celebrate after. And we need to know, was this plan or was this just good team synergy? - So that dance that me testing, St. was doing, I think, two years ago I practiced, we did the same thing to our defense, and I just started doing it, and then me and St. did it up in the next game, like that week. And then every since then, every time we dropped my five, we did that dance. But this time, it was different. Everybody started doing something different. It was funny. - Yeah, it's incredible. Look out, together your teammates. I mean, everybody on the same exact page, and that is such a ridiculous looking dance for everybody to be doing a great content here for social. No penalty, I like that. And so you know what, if the whole fucking team's doing it, we like it. And I appreciate that. You talk about your team's synergy, and obviously the celebration here, as you draw somebody off sides, it very late. I mean, all Tom Brady was talking about, just can't lose your discipline, huh? You just gotta have composure, then you guys jump off sides with three plays later, or something like that. - You got told in line a little bit, not crosser, you got told in a little bit, huh? - Yeah, 'cause you never know what they're gonna let, you know? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah, he got at least dance. Yeah, you got to, you know? - Let's point. - See what we can get away with and what we can't. - You guys have been doing a lot of celebration. Jared Doff's stats right now, or MVP, whether you look like the best player in all the ball, shout out you, a lot of work goes into that. Obviously, there's a lot of teammates that help that out. And you talk about the synergy. I wish I could experience what the Dan Campbell Detroit lines were. We only see photos, really. Go ahead, Connor. - Yeah, Jameer, prolific on the field and also off. I believe you guys had your Halloween party. You had some great costumes. I think you were Jeff Hardy one years as well. What was it? - Yeah, that's true. - This year and what is kind of the Halloween party seen like for the Detroit lines? - I was Michael Jackson this year. Grammy Awards. - A specific Michael Jackson last year, Jeff Hardy. How serious are we taking this all? Did you throw it together last second? And how many teammates were at the Halloween party? - Now I've played this for about four months. You got order all the stuff. It takes a while to get here. - Of course. - You saw many people were there? - Yeah. - Who lost it? - It was his first time too. First time hosting. - Okay. - Do you like Hutch doing that? Everybody there, obviously? - Not everybody, but it was a good crowd though. - Yeah, some people. - Some people have kids and stuff. - Sure. - Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Paneu wasn't there. I don't know what he was doing. - I was working on his thoughts. - Sorry, go ahead, AJ. - Are our coaches invited? - No. (laughing) - All right, dude. Good luck the rest of the way. We appreciate you taking the time here. - Yeah, cheers, dude. Ladies and gentlemen, Jameer Gibbs. - Yay! - Woo-hoo! - Dan Campbell walks in there, everybody. All right. - Come on. - Yeah. - Walks out. - From what we've heard though, Dan Campbell might be the guy you need, one of those things. - Last man standing. - Exactly. - At that party. - Four of them in there. - Yep. - Sick. - Yeah. - He's got sicks, man. Who's got sicks? - Him and Brian will stare each other down at the keg at 5.30 a.m. Would be a fun one. - Yeah. - That would be a fun one. I think they both have their own. They're not sharing no way they're sharing sicks. - No, they're not cutting them. - No, small those sigs. Look, and they're giant hands too. - Here, bottle here, keg there, salt marron. - You going to bed, man? - Who's doing it? Not me, dude. We got all day. - Well, I'll do breakfast. - Yeah, I'm sure you will. That's the type of meatheads they actually are though. But football geniuses. Nobody's talking about the lines being good this year, Foxy. - No, no one's talking about it. And I'll tell you what, that went over the packers has changed my entire perspective on this team. Had we lost that game, which we tied, we easily could have lost that game. You guys make a feel goal. We don't go down and score. Everything's different. But I really believe in this offense, the defense, man. They played so much better. And I just got word from Nick Moraldo back here. That Kirby Joseph is back on the practice field. I thought he was done with football forever. So things are looking up for the Detroit Lions. - Brian Branch gets a pick last week. Kirby Joseph is back. Tell me about that, dude. - Look, that is great news. Probably went healthy to best safety tandem in the NFL. And Brian Branch, he got his pick in the deep part of the field, kind of doing what Kirby Joseph does best. I believe he had all pro season a couple of years ago with like nine picks or something like that. Just covering ground as a center filter back there. And then you get Brian Branch. I'm sorry, down there around the ball in the box, wreaking havoc in a run game, in in the past game. So I can't wait to see these guys back healthy and finish the second half of this season pretty strong. So he's activated off PUP and getting back to practice this week, right? - Yeah, he certainly just got back on the practice field. - Okay, that's awesome. You know, there's a couple of other people that have just gotten back on the practice field. I believe Micah. - Next week's supposed to. - Okay. - Yeah, 'cause they play on Thursday. - Hey, just real quick, though. This has been an interesting timeline for Micah for what we expected, what it is. Has you supposed to get on the field? What, last week, I think, first, first week of practice? And then they were saying, maybe he'll play after one week. That was never in conversation. Then him coming back week six, Sunday night football against Cowboys, was that just a media pipe dream? - Yes, yes, absolutely. And it just became like the expectation, you know, 'cause he got, I think he got hurt in like week 13, maybe against the Broncos last year. And he obviously, like, he wanted to get back as soon as possible, but I think people saw that that Cowboys game was Sunday night football and kind of just circled it and just like did the math in their head, like, oh, this would make sense. - Yeah, but people wanted to do it on the internet, people just say stuff. - No, people that were actually. - It was like, insiders. - They had new information. We're like telling us, like, week six, Cowboys Sunday night football. That is what we got. - But nothing came out, maybe the week five, so we can get a week ahead of. - Yeah, nothing from his camp has ever indicated that like, he might be back for week five against the Bears or week six against the Cowboys, the whole time. And like, AJ alluded to it too. It's like, hey, the Packers are very, very cautious with this kind of stuff. Like, they're not going to bring him back until he, it feels like he is 100% healthy and ready to go, but this is good news. [BLANK_AUDIO]
If he is going to practice next week, I would assume that he might not play next week, but hopefully the week after that and then it's, you know, green flag racing. Panthers fresh out of a terrible football game where they lost bad to the box and then Packers lose to the Lions after some self-inflicted wounds laid down the stretch there. Thursday football should be great, but if the Packers' defense can continue to play well and then you add Micah down the stretch, AJ, that's desirable situation for the Packers as a whole. Yeah, I would say so, especially when your defense has been starting to get better and we've had some obviously key injuries, but yet to get a complete game changer back, like Micah, when you're already starting to, I guess, hit your stride, it's a great sign for the Packers. You can just drop Micah Parsons into the defense, AJ? Yep. Outside Russia, absolutely. I've seen situations where maybe you say like a DB or somebody comes in to where they haven't been playing all year and they get forth, they come back into the lineup week 10 and you have some like new guys that have been playing together. There can be a couple of weeks of weird like miscommunication, even if it's a stud coming back into like the secondary. But if you're an outside Russia, absolutely, like here you go, bud, you can drop through the flat a few times and then here we go, let's just rush the passer and get three or four seconds. We're in an offensive line, run the ball league. What does Micah Parsons joining that defense do to you guys? Well, it's a nightmare because now you got that guy that can win one-on-one and Jonathan Ganon actually does such a great job of getting guys one-on-one situations the way he blitzes, the way he brings safeties into the box. You never know what's going to happen. I mean, they ran cover zero so many times last week that it forces you in one-on-one situations. If you want one guy in a one-on-one situation, that's the guy. Thank you. Is there more people that are good offensive play colors or defensive play colors? I would say offensive. Of course. Yeah. Well, I mean, there's more of them. He's saying so that means the defensive play colors that are good in this stage of football right now are at a premium. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I mean, off the top of my head, I can probably say there's five elite defensive play colors. I don't know what spags. Let's go. Raheem Morris. Let's go Flores. Demiko. I mean, he's now calling the plays and they've gotten better, but again, like they weren't very good early. I know he wasn't calling the plays, but they were being very vanilla up front. Zach Kerr's coming on a bit. I think Ulbrich is pretty good at landing. Ulbrich? Yeah, that's probably your five. Okay, so I only say that because Chuck Pagano, defensive coach, former head coach in the NFL, he says everybody talks about losing offense coordinator, losing offense coordinator. You lose your defense coordinator. He could be shit out of luck as well if you get a guy. These guys are at a premium. He said he thinks that hiring a head coach at the defensive side, although we've always said if you hire an offensive head coach, at least you have stability on the offensive side for your quarterback. Yeah. Or even if you have a defensive head coach, the offense is going to have to turn over if you have massive success. We just saw it. Literally with Seahawks. Kubiak gets a head coach and job for the Las Vegas Raiders. Now they got Brian Florey in there doing office, Sam Donnell's got to relearn, relearn, fill it up. Eagles. I mean, even a Syrian, he's an offensive guy. They've got to turn over the offense a bunch of times. So we always assume you get a good play caller on the offense side. You make him a head coach. Chuck Pagano is like, hey, defense is harder to call than offense right now, at least they know where they're going. Classic defensive quotes and comments. But we are in a transition era of ball. Is the defensive head coach because they make Donald heaven success? The fact right now, is that maybe the right decision long term because you have a guy that can call defense. I still think we're in such a quarterback driven league that the turn over for coordinators like Josh Allen's been in an absolute nightmare situation whenever McDermott was there because you got a new offensive coordinator every single year because your success means they're going to get an opportunity to have a job, right? I think you look at San Fran and obviously Solo was fantastic, but he leaves and they probably got better on defense. He more walks in and he's just as good now and not everybody's being is able to go get Raheem Morris, right? We get that. But I think that's the biggest thing because we're in such a quarterback driven league. You want familiarity. You want consistency. You want continuity among your offense. Even Gannon. You know, phenomenal. Going back and half. Obviously, did a great job with the defense, but Gannon getting there the things that he's able to do. Obviously drop Michael Parsons in there who knows what he's going to have up his sleeve when he gets out there healthy and then paired with that offense that can put up points, especially if they start catching the ball consistently. It's going to be a scary combination. It is going to be a scary combination. I got good news. Uh-oh. Here we go. Universal ball. Yes. Yes. This is a different universe bowl today. Okay. Mm-hmm. You were spending it today too. Thank you. I got a little bit more of, uh, I don't know how it's going to help me with hoops. I know what this is. But I've been working on, uh, I've been working on, I've been trying to get some real, I've been trying to throw a real nice ball. What is that? What do you mean? Like you will flick your wrist? Yeah. You watch. You're not, no javelin. Not a javelin. Throw his danus. Bingo. Yeah. Well, I'm trying to do both. I'm trying to get the distance. I'm trying to stop the accuracy and the spiral here with a little bit of this. It's a new throw motion. I'm going through a little bit of a change myself here as I try to do that. I don't think it helps you with the hoop, you know, yeah, because I'm more of a Justin Herbert guy. You sure? You know, cause I, I can get it in. I don't need the layered offense. Herbert guy. Yeah. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. I know I'm not an NFL quarterback. Okay. But if we were to play catch everybody be like, holy fuck, what a throw. You know, cause that ball is hovering as it's a dart. So I'm not an NFL quarterback. I am going to be throwing in some parking lots. I assume at some point. And I think people will say, oh, that ball is fucking on the line here. Now, person catching it's going to have to, you know, strong hand. I think it's coming. Yeah. Scream me out. I was making some crazy catches today. Yeah. You had one high one. I remember everything else was right. You're fucking chest. Uh-oh. Let's make sure we remember that. Okay. You were making some crazy get to one high one. And he was dramatic. It's great grip. It wasn't being incredible. The vertical was insane. Especially with the new board in the back here. Trying to protect the thunder dump. Yeah. I appreciate you making that catch. Okay. Universe ball here. And this is a football. A football now. Okay. This is about the NBA. Oh, need it. This goes in. No more injuries. Okay. All right. Okay. Got it. Oh. Can't see the season. Shoot. Joining us now to tell me whether or not that universe ball means anything. Senior NBA insider for ESPN, Sean Shron. Yay. Thanks. Thanks. I know you missed a shot. It's been a vicious, vicious bug of injuries in the NBA. The last. Please hold. Yeah. You're probably right. Good move. Need to get a bag of balls. Good move. I hope you understand it now. Like Sean's does. Oh, that's a big. Big three ball. Need an NBA one. Yeah. Need an official league ball. Hopefully no injuries in the big three. Either though. Yeah. Good point. I was guys never. Yeah. Yeah, we can't afford to have. Oh, what are we doing here? Oh, okay. Sean's. If this goes in, no more injuries. The rest of the NBA. That's what. Universe would be telling us. I think it's a cost on this. I want to let you know it has not been good in the NFL. These universe balls. It's different. Oh. All right. Oh, my gosh. Lebron's out. No, he's not. Lebron's playing the night as the sixers come to India. So let's get it. I do. You know, we're on the topic of injuries and I know there's a really big game in Indianapolis today. Yeah. Sixers at Pacers. These are two of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference. But I do have some news to share. I think this is the appropriate place to share it. Good or bad or indifferent, but source says source says tell me that Tyres Halberton has a strained left hamstring. He's going to miss some time. The Pacers doctors Halberton, they're all trying to figure out exactly how long that's going to be. So he's expected to be out tonight against the sixers. Of course, any time you have a hamstring injury, especially coming off through the killies last year and all the time of the ramp of that goes into it, this is typically measured in a week, weeks, like that's you, you know, you can put a parenthesis after the, you know, after the week, it's included S. And they're going to figure out exactly how long that's going to be. He's obviously had a long, successful recovery with that of killies, but you think about even just the Pacers alone right now. He's Halberton's out, if he's a new batch is out, you have Andrew Nemhard listed question on the injury report. And then you have a slew of guys, Ben Shepard out for the season, potentially, Tija McConnell. He's out right now with his own hamstring injury. And then Aaron Smith and Obi Topin, they're on the injury report as well, but they're listed profitable. So the. Do we have enough guys to play tonight now on that note? Godspeed all of them, week of Tyrese being out or others being out. Not really like, we're seeing it across the entire race. I'm so sorry that this has happened after your long recovery. I assume it was inevitable with the way the car law offense and the car law basketball style is with a lot of running coming off of a long recovery. I assume that's what's happening with a lot of these guys that have some soft tissue stuff in the legs, getting back into season shape with the way they're going to want to play and how they're going to play, especially when Tyrese was guiding it because that is a fast-moving operation. Godspeed to them, Tyrese, we love your brother. But it feels like it's not just an Indiana pace or situation that's going on. I saw an NBA central tweet, I think, that was all your tweets talking about all the injuries rate. Is this abnormal? This feels very abnormal right now. And why do we think it's potentially happening, Shepard? >> I'm not sure if there's a historic stat on this, but you think about the all-star players that are now sidelined for multiple weeks. Hollow Bank Kero started this over the weekend with high ankle sprained, Edmond Bain fell into his leg. But Hollow Bank Kero, collied Leonard, Jeren Jackson Jr., Jalen Duren, JWK, Jalen Williams, all out for a second.
multiple weeks, potentially even longer than that. In the case of J. Dubb, he's going to be potentially the entire season with his dislocated ankles, as well as a fractured fibula. And then the one that really mocked the league to some extent last night, Anthony Edwards. He's going to have arthroscopic knee procedure on Thursday, and then they're going to get a better sense on the timeout. But he's going to miss about two months with that injury. So knock him out of the Christmas day game potentially that they have on December 25th. The Tim Rules do at home against the thunder. So he's out the next two weeks, and you think about it. He actually just put a 47 points on Monday night, and he's been balling the 45 last week. He's been dealing with knee issues in that right knee since last year, swelling, things of that sort. They've had to get multiple images, like every few weeks, he'll get more imaging to make sure everything is on point while he's been laboring through it the last week or so. Ever since the season started, you could see in some of these games, he's grinding down, clutching that knee. They got a new series of tests this week that showed further damage that had to get cleaned up. And his hope now is that the second half of the year, he'll be ready. Like that's where I'm, as I'm talking to players and coaches and GMs and executives, and you know, people are on the lead. It's become a war of attrition. It's getting right, so you can be right for the second half of the season. Because right now you're seeing a lot of these guys go down. And now you have a guy in Anthony Edwards who's going to be ineligible for all NBA team for MVP. That's going to cost him $115 million extra in salary based on the Supermax extension he's eligible for this offseason. I believe it's four years, 304 million dollars if he made either an all NBA team or MVP. But now he's going to be ineligible. He's going to miss too many games. And so he's going to be eligible for three or 189 million dollars extension. Now he could wait. Oh, that's important. That off till next summer or the summer of 2028. But there's a lot of ramifications across all this, but just a ton, ton of injuries in the early going right now. 189 to 304 is a vast difference. 189 is certainly a good contract by a lot of things, but 304 million is a lot more money. There was an appeal process though, right for guys that had actual legitimate injuries or maybe like four or five games out of qualifying and then they were able to overturn it because it was an actual justifiable injury as opposed to maybe just body management or load management that was happening in the past. It did feel like the NBA initiated the 65 game rule because they wanted their stars to play whenever people are buying tickets as opposed to a load management trying to get ready for the playoffs. But I think over the last year or so, there was a couple guys that either couldn't qualify because they had actual injuries and they were like 62 or 61 games or something like that. And then they were able to overturn and say you actually do qualify because there is a 115 million at play. So I'm not saying missing two months. If that's how long Anthony Edwards is out that he'll be able to qualify just by on court play for MVP and everything else, but it does feel like what the NBA tried to do end up not being exactly perfect. And then they would listen a little bit. I wonder with this year with all the stars. Are they even going to have enough guys to qualify for all NBA with how many all NBA guys are already missing games this early in the season. That's scary. Let's go to some positive news. Shall we? AJ has a question for you, Psalms. Psalms. Yeah. What do you expect in this year from Kyrie and Cooper Flag in Dallas? I know there are kind of a unique combination Kyrie is back. He's healthy. What's the outlook for Dallas this year? Cooper Flag I believe also. Well, I think I say we you said positive news, AJ. The other AJ Debats has actually making his season debut tonight. Number one overall picks. I got Washington at Cleveland. So AJ, we love you, but the other AJ is making his rookie debut is number one overall pick. As far as Dallas and Kyrie goes, I mean, he's looking like himself. You think about from the shooting perspective, the way his mobility is, his flow, he looks like he's in peak form and you you have him pair alongside Cooper Flag. I mean, Cooper Flag the other night. What do you have like 27 11 6 4 and 3. He does everything. He's built like a specimen. And so that's what the Mavericks and Messiah, you hear they're a new president. That's what they wanted to see, right? How does this Kyrie Irving on one hand? He's what 34 years old. Cooper Flag on the other hand, I mean, is even legally able to drink? What do you mean 20 years old? 21 years old? Like, it's a juxtaposition of age and direction, but you know on the court, they're special and that's what the Mavericks have wanted to see here in the early going of the season. And Liz I'll be honest, you know, as the year goes on, we talk about everything on the court, but then there's the business of basketball and there's a slew of teams now that are monitoring Kyrie Irving, right? He then potentially the last year of his deal, he's got a player option next year. And so if you're a contending team and if the Mavericks are not really contending, come trade deadline, do they look to trade him potentially to a contender for draft picks? That is what's also at the forefront of other teams minds. But in the meantime, the Mavericks are trying to see what does this pair look like, but Kyrie Irving looks like he's back 100%. >> I love that for basketball, if Kyrie's back cooking. I mean, he has that thing on a string. He's like, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, and then his jumper's so clean and he pisses off a lot of people, which I love. I love watching him do his thing. Why not the Mavericks be a contender because they were so asked last year and they had the rookie of the year? >> Well, they have a team that's that's picked a direction. They're going younger and they've made it very clear. You go trade for Zach Risa Shea, you know, they have a direction on this team. Messiah Dury said that we want to build on Cooper Fly. Well, Cooper Fly is 21 years old. And so you have a group of young players. You've picked your direction and then you also have some vets, right? Like Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford. These are guys that obviously want to be a part of winning teams and have a pedigree of winning. So it's just the balance. Like, I'm sure the Mavericks and their offices, what they're trying to figure out is, can we string the middle on this? Can we be competitive and win while also developing and making Cooper Fly that leader and that veteran is going to come down to Danny Day. A guy like Kyrie Irving, it's the business of basketball. You're in the last year of your deal potentially before a player option. Do you have a long-term future in Dallas or not? And that's what both sides are going to have to figure out here over the next five, six months. But going back to Kyrie Irving, we talked a lot about Kyrie Irving in 2020. >> Yes, we did. And I think he's probably doing something similar as Aaron Rodgers was doing whenever we went and visited the Pittsburgh Steelers train camp. And that microphone was live and direct, they would say. Good luck to the Dallas Mavericks. I like Cooper Fly a lot. I got a chance to meet him a couple of different times. Cool, dude. He's phenomenal. He's a year younger. >> Yeah, reclassified. >> reclassified a year younger than he goes to do. He is so young, even he'll be young 10 years from now in the NBA. Go ahead, buddy. >> Yeah, you know, I'm actually about to mind me, and speaking of Kyrie, just thank you to my trade. Is that a potential destination? I know we had a rocky start. We beefed up with stars, got Greek free, got bam. But potentially, Kyrie, make a move down there. >> I'm sure knowing the heat, they're going to be monitoring Kyrie Irving, but there's going to be several different Kyrie Irving. The question is, if you're Miami, what can you give for Kyrie Irving? You already traded away three first round picks and swap and other assets to go get y'all into the group to bring to this team. So what can you trade? Why not? I believe they have one first shot pick eligible to be traded. Is that enough to get Kyrie Irving? My sense is probably not. I think the price would be higher than that. And so if that's the case, what does it look like for Miami? When I look at Miami, Debut, I think of a team that's really trying to figure out how they can play offensively and defensively, because Davey on Mitchell, their point guard, and that's the point guard. You know what he said after the game the other night? He said, "Yanis and Bam take up the same spaces. Bam has to move with more intention. They have to figure out facing." And what I think about when I hear that is they probably have to have some offensive changes. And when I talk to Scouts and people on the league, probably integrate more pick and rolls. This is not a pick and roll heavy team. The offense that they run doesn't have a ton of screening. So happening that potentially. And on the other side is defense. You have a team that's a little bit older. And so how do you get guys to defend at a high level? That's also, I thought this heat team, if anything, was going to be able to hang its hat on defense. And so far, they've not been able to do that. Wow, I hate that for you guys down there in Miami. We figured out. I'm sure they'll figure out early. That ride like four games. That ride will get the chocolate chip cookies out of the locker room and they will start turning around. They got enough talent, Donner. Do that. And trading for Kyrie down there would be sweet. I would enjoy that. Another team that I think has a very late is used to win in a lot and haven't done that at all. Ty has a question for you, Sean. Yeah, Sean, what about the Knicks? Is there any cause for concern there? Or is this just kind of a little bit of a championship hangover? I saw Jim Bo Dillon's not exactly happy with a couple of guys. Yeah. And you know, it just seems a little flat. You know, who knew maybe Mitchell Robinson, maybe they're missing him a little bit. Is there cause for concern with the Knicks? Or like you said, is it, hey, you know, we're about three, four games in the season. It's really not that big of a deal. Well, Taylor and Brunson, the players have admitted that like there is some championship hangover. They've admitted out. This is not me talking that they're kind of feeling the the champagne still in their veins, right? And so how do you figure out, you know, getting that edge back, getting the motivation back? And I think that's going to be important for this team. They won last night obviously. It gets Detroit. They're playing in Chicago tonight. So now it's the start of trying to string these games together. But listen, they started this season with a disconnect from, you know, James Dolan, ownership for an office and the players. Because Call of Duty Towns and Josh Hart wanted contract extensions. They offered Call of Duty Towns four years, $200 million extension. Well, that's $76 million less than his
max, he will sign for less than his max contract. He'll take a size and will discount $70 plus million less. That's something that he is not willing to do right now. And so the fact that those talks didn't go anywhere. And then the nicks come out with a statement and say, hey, we're not having any extension talks with you guys. We're going to table this till the end of the season or later in the season. Well, that is a sign of the players. Like, as much as you guys want to extend, we're not going to talk extensions. But at the end of the day, the nicks know this and the players know this. The focus being on the court, this team still has the chance to win a championship this year, right? And so you try to put the focus on the court. And that's what they're obviously going to try to do while you have the distraction of a potential White House visit in December, while you have the distraction of the contract extension talks. This is not a seamless carefree. Like, there's no distraction type of year. Like, it was at times last year. Champagne in the veins. Tough thing to figure out whenever you reach the mountain top. And then they put statues over on top of Madison Square Garden in New York City. You know what? I have faith that Jaylen Bronson's good enough leader of men. He's good enough player. I think he's going to get the boys rallied. And who knows what the future looks like. But this year, they're going to play good hoops. Ain't that right, Bruce? That's how you're feeling watching early in the season? Yes, I completely agree. Last night against the pistons getting that first win. It did feel like that fire was returned to their gut. Bronson was taking charge. Cat was getting into it with Paul Reed. Josh Hart had a very funny moment where he pretended to put up Fisticuffs with Jared Jack. But yeah, I think that they're going to be A-OK. And one thing I noticed, Bronson forever, through our quest for a championship, bringing up the ball, always getting bumped. And, you know, Flailin trying to get the call, but never getting it. He's starting to get those. He's starting to reach that air of respect. And, you know, kind of that pinnacle where I think it's going to be really, really, really difficult to defend Bronson down the stretch of the season. Champion Chip Whistle over there in New York, D-Butterside about bumps now. Come on. Well, he likes to get natural shots at the line late in these games, I think. If you give Bronson those calls, he is absolutely unstoppable. Yeah, because he's not going to miss from the free throw line. Whenever you get him off, it's guaranteed. It's guaranteed. And I don't think I've ever seen him actually miss in like massive moments. He's an absolute stallion. All right, Shoms, as are you. We appreciate you. We'll continue to fall along because the ball doesn't fall there with everything. Yeah, right. Hopefully, you know what? Pat, come on, Pat. Now we're going to, it's like ground up. We're going to get injuries now. Well, I think you sound more. Yeah, no, we can blame you. Keep your phone charged. I mean, I think the more things to blame you for, I think we, I agree. Thank you, Shoms. Thank you, Shoms. Yeah, Shoms. That's what we need. I'll tell you what, sports are always going to provide. That's a lot of injuries to the NBA. I mean, the Pacers finally on prime time. Silver's never going to put them back on. They got nobody playing. That's it for the Pacers on prime time. Good run. Rustin peace or piss. No, we're not. What? Talks, man. There's no peace. They're never going to be on prime time again. We scroll through the network. They had one on NBC sports like close to Easter, I believe. April, April, early, April before Easter. Okay. Geez, Louise. But tonight, six years currently favored by five and a half, I believe as the Indiana Pacers roster has been decimated with injuries. That's it. Was that? Yeah. That's boy six. Was that, was that the 15 minutes ago? That was while we were talking to Shoms. I wonder how much movement there has been after he rattled off everybody that we have heard of on the team, potentially being on the injury report, or out this evening. It's now seven and a half has moved two points here in the last 10 minutes. I think a lot of people should potentially get excited about that. Conor just celebrated as he dropped into nothing's a guarantee. Okay, be responsible in there, but six years do take on a very beat up Pacers tonight. Also this evening, we potentially have a world series clinching game down in Tampa Bay. Last night, bottom of the 12th Tampa Bay race, pull some heroics, get their first win of the series. It was a phenomenal night of baseball. Now we got the Si Young award winning record breaking throw fastball guy leading the way for a potential world series dub for the Milwaukee Brewers. To break it all down for us, ladies and gentlemen, a man who is a 12 year MLB vet three time all-star. Reds Hall of Famer former hitting coach for the Yankees. Still a hitting coach for Team USA World Baseball Classic, ladies and gentlemen. Is he the mayor? Yinzer, Sean Casey. Yeah, man. What's up, fellas? What's up? What's up, Pat? Hey, how you doing, mayor? Thank you so much for joining us. One electric time for baseball last night in the bottom of the 12th Tampa Bay extends the series at home after we thought for sure Cooper Pratt rookie. It's a game-winning bomb to win the world series for Milwaukee. Can you tell me about this series, what you're expecting this evening? Is this thing over with Miz on the bumper? Do we have a lot of question marks after what happened late last night? No, it's not over. Not even close. And I think that's what the rays are last night. They just kind of battle. These are two teams that, you know, throughout the season, you got to get 27 outs on. So this series is not over. The way they put a bat together, the rays got to figure out a way, though, to get the Miz probably out of there early. But I tell you what, for them to come back last night in the 12th and pull that win off, it was incredible. So now we got a world series. I think everybody's glad it wasn't a sweep. We go to game five and you know, we'll see what happens. Okay, so the rats is what they've been described as because they make everything hard to grind me to get the Miz out early. That's what we're talking about, right? Let's get on base. Let's get them a lot of pitches. Let's have foul balls. Let's go ahead and work these counts. That's what everybody's referring to. And that's what we will see from Tampa Bay early against the Miz is just trying to work up the pitch count. You know what? You know, I think with a guy like the Miz with with that fastball, you do that. You do try to ambush early. If you get a heater up early, you want to try and go. So I think they'll look to be aggressive against them. But the biggest thing with the rays tonight, like you got to keep Miz in the strike zone. You got to make sure that you're bringing them back to the plate and you're not chasing anything, especially up with if he's throwing 103, 104. So I think the biggest thing for the race, be aggressive early and making sure you're making the Miz work. Ty has a question for you, Mayor. Yeah, Mayor. I don't know if it's been announced yet. But in terms of what the rays plan on doing pitching wise tonight, do you think it's going to be all hands on deck? Even if you know, you had a guy, maybe I know Martinez came in for a little bit the other night. Like, are they going to kind of deploy whatever they can to extend this, you think? Yeah, no doubt. Ty, you know, I think the biggest thing is when you look last night, they had to bring in Martinez and obviously you did his job and kept it there. But then all of a sudden, there was your game five starters. So I think it's going to be all hands on deck. No doubt. I think Rasmussen's in play. I think you might even see Peralta maybe for an inning or two. I think you could see Martinez come back. I think you're going to see Baker for a couple. They're going to Kevin Cash is going to throw it all out there tonight. I mean, this is a do or die game for them if they lose. They go home. So I think you're going to see a full bullpen game, whoever's ready to go can give them a couple of innings. Cash is going to call on them. Skipper Murphy said never in a million years, but we were fantasizing last hour with Milwaukee Brewers, Superfan J.J. What? A Mizorowski coming out in the bottom of the 12th to get three outs to win the World Series. That would never, ever, ever happen in real life baseball. I think we were all thinking that. I think J.J. was thinking and I think every baseball fan was thinking could the miss come in and close it. But Murf's right. You bring the Miz in and game four to close it and or to keep it where it's at. And you lose him for game five. It's just, you know, that's not a smart move. So Murf was thinking about it probably, it probably crossed his mind for a second pat and then he was like, you know what? We got a game five coming out. We can't, you know, burn him for game five. Do we think he had a no matter what type of mindset going in there? We're not putting Mizorowski no matter what? What if that's a thinning? What if that's a thinning and you're up one or two? Do you bring him in for the final two? I don't think so. I don't think so. Their bullpen has been so good. That's just, you can't, you can't manage scared. That's changing everything that they've done. And just again, they're up three games to not enough. It's game seven, you know, or game six and he's a game seven starter. Maybe that's different. But I don't, yeah, I don't think he was pitching last night no matter what. Okay. A.J. So go ahead, Mayor. Go ahead. No, no, I was just going to say they are, they're so loaded in the back end there with your rebate. The way Aspie's been pitching, you still have McGill out there. So like, I just feel like, you know, Miz wasn't coming in. Go ahead, A.J. Yeah, Mr. Mayor. Do you think that we see both these teams and how they play? We've heard a lot about the style of playing small, ball and all that. Do you think that we're going to see other teams try to do this? Obviously you, you would say, yeah, you know, monkey, see monkey, do whatever it is. Like, can, can other teams replicate this? And do you think it'll be successful? A.J. Listen, dude, I know you're liking it because a little old school baseball right now. It's a little bit get them over, get them in, all that stuff. And I, I know there's been an analytics revolution in the last 10 years of baseball. Well, we're starting to realize the old school stuff still works, right? You got, you can get them out, you can get a guy over, you can get them in and you're seeing that with both these clubs. I mean, that's how they got here. That's how the Brewers 1-1-03, that's how they raised 1-98. And they're and they're taking care of business. So yeah, I think there's no doubt about it. You know, it's a copycat league and all different sports. And I think they're going to take a look at these teams and go, okay, maybe we've got to reevaluate the three true outcomes and just hitting out the park and put it in play like we used to back in the day still works. We might be seeing the last game of this particular season, maybe last game for a long time. We've liked the additions and the changes that baseball has made. Debut has a question for you, Mayor. Yeah, Mr. Mayor, you talk about the old school stuff. What about this new school stuff? We got a full season now, full postseason with the ABS. We even had a stare down last night. What's your thoughts with the ABS right now?
I think the ABS has brought, you know, just it's brought a different element. I mean, you've seen games decided, you know, on ABS challenges this year. A postseason decided on a last call and Contreras, right there. William Contreras in this postseason, whoever's been following along, it's been incredible, man. He's getting two, three, four pitches of game. It feels like he's reversing with the ABS system, but I think it's a different element. It's a different element for the fans. They get it done quick. I think it adds like 57 seconds to the game. So it's not a factor time wise, but as far as the fans, you know, getting into it and the viewer really locking into it, I think it's been a great element for the game. And I think it's really been a great addition. Yeah, the drama of them showing you just like the tennis, you know, wherever it's going there. Stair down right there. Contreras talks a lot of shit. Remember, he was down there, him and his brother were talking shit to us at the World Baseball Club. Yeah, I mean, go punch it to you. Yeah, great personality, full punch in to me. Let's go ahead and rate this baseball season, Mr. Mayor, because there's a chance we don't have one next year. And we're staring down maybe the last game for a long time tonight. I think it's been a great season, you know, I really do. I think when you're seeing teams like the brewers and the rays in it with the guardians facing it and the Dodgers in there too. There's a lot of star power right now. I think baseball is in a really healthy place, you know, who knows what's going to happen this off season. But I think the viewership for the game so far with it being the brewers and rays. I think the fans are tuning in. They love this brand of baseball. They love the players that are on these teams, and I think it's been a great 2026 baseball season for Major League Baseball. You're the best. We appreciate the hell out of you. That's the mayor, ladies and gentlemen, Sean Casey. Yeah, mayor. Is that good season of baseball? I agree. Yeah, for shoot so much juice, I'm Mr. Mayor. He's always got energy. He's from Pittsburgh. A lot of people asked if he was my father for a long time. Yeah, he's not, he's nice from upper St. Clair, the other side of the town. But he has great energy to calm the mayor because he was a first baseman. And you wouldn't make it the first base against his team unless you let him know everything about you. He's having full conversations. Let's head over to Hammer, Don, Don. Tone Digs. Hammer, Don has a bet tonight on Draft King Sports Book to Best Sports Book on Earth. If you agree to gamble responsibly or trade responsibly, we'd love for you to come join us if you're of age available. Coast to coast right now. What's Hammer, Don have tonight, Tone? Yeah, we have a three sport parlay tonight starting in the NBA with the Houston Rockets to win against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Rockets are undefeated, and the Milwaukee Bucks have only beat the Pacers. So, you know, that's kind of our angle on that one. The Oilers are hosting the Calgary Flames, the Flames stink on the road. The Avalanche hosting, the Devils who are red hot, but they're on a back-to-back. They beat the Stars last night, so we'll see you there. And then Gumpy, of course, had to throw in the inner Miami to beat FC Cincinnati tonight on Draft King. Okay, thank you, Tone. We'll obviously be team-writing that. It is not a guarantee that it wins, but it will be fun on all the different sports that are happening on this glorious sports day. Big day with big shrugs, making out all the big places next. Goodbye. I think I got it. Oh, yeah. He did. Man, plus 403 on that bet. Yeah. Yeah, nothing's a guarantee. Is Messi playing? Yeah. Yes, sir. I saw a highlight. What was that highlight I saw of him? I had never seen this highlight before. He had a Atlanta. I thought it was fake. I saw this highlight. In the MLS. Yeah, my Instagram. The pass. The pass, and then get back. No, okay. So you've seen a few as well. Oh, yeah, that was unbelievable. No, so I've seen that one. It's interesting. The Algo just pop up something from like September all of a sudden. Oh, yeah. It's doing that. That I hadn't seen. So I'm scrolling. Hey. Messi's got September 7th. I think if we can find the clip, he is staring down two guys in the box. Okay. This is in the penalty. This is a red zone for soccer. And he just cooks the first guy spins, okay, in the box. He turns back around. Second guy gets him to fall around down twice as well. And then he just absolutely blisters this left one, bends it around the goalie to far side panel. And then just kind of jogs this side. It's like, holy fuck. This guy's playing a different sport than everybody. Yes. Still at this age. Unbelievable. How old is he? He's 39? 39, yep. It's outrageous. What he is still doing at 39. I can't believe it. Is he playing for Team USA? Is he playing for Team USA next world cup retired from all interneesh? This is not it. This is not it. Go to Instagram. September 7th. Who would it be? Goms, I would have posted that inter Miami searching. Did you see the other soccer I would say yesterday? No, no. We don't know you talk about it. I'd seen it in like the fifth division of English football soccer beat Arsenal in the camera. Like a Sunday league. In the carabouling. Fleetwood town. Who? Fleetwood town. They're in the fourth tier of English soccer in 18th place. So could get beat relegated to fifth tier this season. Beat the Premier League champions. They're calling the one of the biggest upsets in sports. How do they play the other divisions? This is it. They got a penalties. Yeah. The carabouling cup is all the divisions in England. Is it just like whenever Pittsburgh Riverhands are playing the Columbus crew? Exactly. And the fourth league goalie knows his biggest moment yet. Lensch. And the boys get some big time dubs. Congrats to the Fleetwood boys. Tommy Fleetwood boys. Yeah. The Fleetwood Max. Yep. The Fleetwood Magpies. Yeah. I'll tell you what. You know? Great time. A lot of these fourth league, fifth league teams get investors from other sides because you're trying to run the way because in soccer now might be a good time for you to sell as well. Make up a new team over there in soccer. But that's like a good stock investment seemingly thing for these sports team owners. JJ did it with Burnley. Private equity. Yeah. Private equity is doing it. Ryan and Guy from. Sonny. Oh, we sonny. Oh, we sonny. Oh, yeah. Oh, yes. Rickson. Brady. Yeah. Tom Brady has done it. There's not just the celebrities doing this. There's a lot of like private equity fun teams that are like, if we can get a third league team to go up even into the championship or whatever it's called right below the Premier League massive gains of investment. And if somehow we can strike some gold here, get a goalie that's out of coach that's out. And when you get up into the Premier League, the amount of money that your team is automatically worth is crazy. I mean, you can sell it. It's quite a little business proposition they're doing over there. I would assume that team today has some people saying, hey, you guys looking for any investment, just percentage of sales or anything like that, because if you can go up, now it sounds like they're going down, which you might want to just wait until what happens if you win the caribou. Do you want to matter? Good question. What happens there? Gumpch. Do you get a chance to kind of slide by or move up if you win the caribou because we know the caribou people care about? Yes. No, you do not. Dang. You just brought in. What's the tournament about them? Being the best team in England win an tournament, they get to play Man City now, unfortunately, I believe. Unfortunately, they just beat the champs. At home? Yeah. I don't know if it's at Fleetwood Town, though. It's a top pitch to play at. Hold on, Manchester City. They're still doing it? Oh, yeah. They're still, I play today. Still no word on what's happening with all their cheating. They don't care. Look at all. The Fleetwood Max gold craze. That is a tough barn. Is this Hawi? Hawi! Glory! Fleetwood Mac beats Arsenal! There was a great interview with that kid after he was from Ireland, and they asked him. He was on Sky Sports, had no idea he goes, "I just fucking put it top shelf and start fucking running." It was awesome. It was awesome. It was awesome. Sok is a crazy sport. I guess we have this beat like, sorry, would this be like a Appalachian state beating the Miami Dolphins? Like, what could you compare it to? Basically. That's bigger than that almost. I think it's River Woods beating Inter Miami. Can you do it like a football, as far as I can understand it a little bit more? I would say a CFL team beating an NFL team. Okay. That's how big it is. Legitimately, fourth tier of English football is, that's far down there, dude, and they're getting relegated. Like, they're almost in last place in fourth tier. It might be disrespecting the CFL a little bit. It might be the Fischer's Freight beating the Chicago band outside, not in Arena. Yeah. Actually, no, in Arena. The Bears don't have to go to their tough points. Arsenal also just won the league. So this is like beating the Super Bowl champions. Okay. So Seattle Seahawks taking on the Fischer's Freight. Inside Fischer Freight's going in a football league. Got it. Man. I would love to see Eman Worry playing this. I was going to say, can we set that up? Yeah. Get bowling some pads. Think about what they would do with those boards. Oh. It'd kill somebody. It'd never be able to do it. Yeah. Karebel Cup. We have Karebel Cup come together to put together all of American food. How do you feel about the bet that you guys have tonight on DraftKings? I absolutely love it. Is there a bet you don't love that you send out there? Usually if I'm putting something like this out there, putting something like this together, I like it. I love it. It's going live. I love it. Yeah. And there's a couple bets that Gumpy will immediately know it's trash whenever it happens. But then somehow he'll steal one or two of the legs and he's like, oh, it was still live here. And then you look at it. How is this what you decided to piece together as a parlay? Yeah. The one I had on Sunday. There was no reason. I had it. It was Marvin Harrison, Gaseki, and Darren Waller. Touch down. Wow. Wow. Yeah. You can't bet 10 to 10 million. It was 25 or 18. It was huge. He showed it to me. He was like, oh, we need his one now. All we need is one. And I look at it and I see the names and I'm like, so what goes on in that little brain? Like, how do you go? Darren Waller. I like the way he looked in a video. Or, yeah, he'll get into paint there. Who is the last one you said? Gaseki. He was going to gritty on tight end. It was awesome. He has a lot of those. I mean, there's a lot of them watching ball alongside Gumpy or not knowing some sort of sport is on alongside Gumpy is awesome because that fourth league team, I didn't know about the Fleetwood Max. But I probably heard three or four of the other ones if they're able to be bet on, they just did something.
that he either muppets or the greatest of all time and us coming from a little Canadian voice tonight Houston Rockets to win. Who's healthy? Do we know who's healthy in any of these games? Houston Rockets are good to go. Like Tony said, the box only won that one game. They've been struggling at home. Rockets Van Fleet's been healthy his first time he played in 550 days, I believe, to start the season. Rockets look like an actual different team this year to start. Are you guys backing these picks tonight? Absolutely. Love that that wording. The hammered down lads are backing these picks today. If it looks like we are backing this. Nice little explanation point there at the end. So you got to kind of get excited. The hammered down lads are backing these picks tonight. Woo. Are you backing this pick? Thank you. I'm trying to figure out who plays for the Houston. I was going to say Kevin just Kevin Durant's going to play for the wrong. Yeah. Yeah. And Shengoon. Perfect. James Harden's got there. I just don't know. I would never bet any one of those teams up there. Main either. So that's incredible. I'm like trying to figure it out. Busy, man. Like David has like 32 points in eight games. That's what they do though. I mean, unbelievable. The genesis of hammer that came from the COVID cave where tone dudes became the best gambler. He's ever been because he was locked in a room. He wasn't allowed to be around. He's incredible. Wasn't allowed to be around his family was digging through the sports book to find like his absolute best bets. Dumpy does that every single day. He has such obscure things that he thinks the book doesn't know that he knows he gets in there. That's literally the genesis of hammered down. So whenever you see some of these picks. It's like, yeah, they fuck it. They actually are in that book. They did it. They're do it. They're scouring numbers trying to find that that's their entire gimmick. I mean, Edmonton seems right. I mean, you got drives. I don't like David, right? Of course. Three of the top five point getters in the NHL. There you go. So I think that sounds good. And they just lost. So they'll probably win tonight. Not a guarantee. Not a guarantee, but we like this. All right. Let's take a break on the other side. We got to get to a lot of things. Situation reports a good one. Yeah. Historic second half for Joey Burrow. We also have the top five offensive lines performing coming out a week, seven of the NFL season. Excited to see if there's any movement or shaking around there. And I assume we're going to see the Seattle Seahawks offensive line on there for the rest of the season after the move that they make. But then we also have good deed that we got to showcase to figure out who has a championship defense that might be able to lead them to a Super Bowl. I think we might know. Yes, certainly. But do we know why? Do you want to explain it all? Be a friend to our friends. I'm nice and my change of life. Take. Hey, what do you call this? I'll know them. Can they hear me boys? No, they can't. I believe it's called I believe it's called Donk. Can people here? It's called Donk. Can people hear you Bruce? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Pat. I believe it was on ESPN 8, the old show at one point. And what are you? What's that? What are they trying to do here? Because I threw these things around a little bit when I was there on Monday. I actually don't know what the rules of the game are, but I know you want the donkey to stand up straight. Oh, I mean, good luck when you can throw and blast the dude. Hey, let's go. This show steps. In the fact that you listen, we are very, very thankful. The all time leading tackler for the green day Packers. You pay. Stand up. Stand up. Damn it. Be a friend to other friends. Something nice to change their life. Hello, beautiful people. And welcome back to our humble football. The draftings. Donk donk. I will throw this one once it begins. All right. No. Football. And we all thought about what you say. Go right there. Joining us live, A.J. Hawk. Great work. Come down. I know you're not really kind of threw me out there, but I'm trying to figure that game out. I did throw a couple of those things around when I was there on Monday. Okay. So you didn't have a little bit of a heads up on what this was. I got in here and I saw this and I was flabbergast. I remember the Ocho showing it, but I don't get to read any of the rules. I just saw what it was. Thought it was a kid's toy. A.Q. thought the same thing. 12 year NFL. That's football champion A.Q. Shipley. But instead it's a game where you throw any things and you're trying to land it on the placemat there. I think closer to the middle is a winner like much like horseshoes or something of that nature. But it has to land on four legs or on its face up in a way. Campy on its side feels like the man who's most aggressive about this game and most passionate about this game comes from the toxic table. I'm not talking about Attaishman. I'm talking about Boston Conor. You really love Donk. You're putting a little defense there at the end. I think that was maybe the move of the entire game. I love to Donk. I mean, it's just one of those things where the game picks you. You don't pick the game. AJ mentioned on Monday, we started tossing the Donk around a little bit and it was just kind of infectious. It feels just though the more you play, the more it sucks in. A.Q. I feel like already kind of has a bit of the Donk itch. Is that I do? Is that I can't wait? It is very, very fun to play. We're still trying to learn the rules. Still trying to learn exactly how to play defense, how to play offense, but Donk's fluid. Donk changes what the game is today could be different tomorrow. I think what we do to most games that get sent in here is we just kind of make up what we think the rules should be. Now, have we always been better than the actual game? Absolutely not. There's been times where we learned how the actual game is played and we've gone. Oh, it makes a lot more sense. But we do make up our own rules. For instance, A.Q. will be tasked at the end of this for the giveaway. Instead of the throw that has not been very successful for anybody, he will be tasked with trying to land one of these little Donks on its feet or on its head on the mat from about the free throw line over here to win 30 people $500. Now, A.Q. has only got about four or five practice throws of said Donk, but I feel like once you're Donk, you can't stop. And that's where you're kind of itching right now. It looks like I can't wait to test how many throws do I get? Two. Two throws. So on that first throw, I'm going to test the shit out of the backwards. It's going to be the backwards trying land. And then if that doesn't work, we're going to just pivot and go to a whole new method. And what is that shot put method? Not real sure. And we might just try and toss it up and hope it lands. Oh, though. Granny stopped that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Granny. Yeah. Like that. Jackie Moon with the Donk, nine year NFL vet, Terry's Jay Butler. I saw you landed a Donk over there. I'm usually a fan of a good Donk, but that game stinks. What? I'm kind of with you, but I did it for 12 seconds. I'm kind of with. Yeah. Well, that's because you suck Donk at Donk. Oh, yeah. Kind of Donk of Donk at Donk. They say you a J Hawk. That's kind of a part of it. ESPN, E Ocho takes over to Thunder Day. At the end of this particular show, whenever A.Q. Shipley will try to land a donkey on all four feet or on its head on a mat to win 30 people, 500. Before we get to that, we have a lot of football to do. We got to learn a lot about a lot of things. There's a situation report that happens in military. I believe in government. Well, we have one for football. It's done by our friend, Darius J. Butler in a suit in the photo. Hell, yeah. Whoa. But on the field in real life. Let's go to a situation report with D. But who are we talking about? What are we talking about? Yeah. The sit rep today is about one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League. And that's Joe Burrow, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bangles had an unbelievable second half against the division rival Baltimore Ravens. He was 16 for 18, 249 yards and four touchdowns. This is the first of the big play in the last four plays will be all touchdowns. The Ravens are going to send a pressure here. So 32 is going to actually be a free hitter. But he gets a little bumped off by his own teammate. I want you to watch these DBs because this is a scramble drill. There's something that'll come up later and good day as well. You have to be plastered to these guys down the field and quarterbacks and receivers have to be on the same pace. You see the late rotation in this deep post safe that he's going to go and find Jamar Chase. Jamar Chase down in the bottom against Wiggins. They were attacking Wiggins. Let's get him some help. Get over the top. They have another monster out there. T Higgins and he's on the same page with number nine as well. So he's matched up with Humphrey up top. Scramble drill. You're short. Go deep. I'll find you. Burrow did a great job stepping up in the pocket, buying some time and making a great throw down the field of T Higgins, making big time plays. You talk about the turnaround. This is one of the biggest turn rounds that we've seen of an offense in the team in sometime. The second play will be a touchdown to Micah Seki. Now red to is a defense. It's just covered to down here. You see the red to or you see all out blitz right here. It's covered to Joe, bro. He sees the coverage alert alert. Let's tighten you down. We're going to run a flat and then you're going to run a seven right behind it. Wiggins doesn't get enough depth. Boom. Wide open pitching catch. Way too easy for a quarterback like Joe, bro. And I thought I showed you the safety earlier, getting over the top of Jamar chase. This is why down here, once again, going to be split safety coverage. The safety is going to be clouded over Jamar chase from all the hunt for this coverage down here to bottom away from the bunch up top. But now look at the bunch. T Higgins is also in that bunch. And once again, he's going to be one on one. He's going to run a post down the middle of the field wide open, safety outside leverage. The other safety's over top bracketing. Jamar chase because you have to and now you get the matchup you want if you Joe, bro. Once again, pitch and catch. Too easy for Joe, bro. Just right on the money. Next play. This is what happens when you don't double team Jamar chase. Now you're going to have seven rushers, man to man, all across the board. You got a one on one, the bottom of the screen. Joe, bro knows it. Jamar chase knows the ball is coming to him whenever he gets his one on one matchup. So that pressure better get better get home. If it doesn't, boom. This is what $40 million a year does to you once again.
can pitch and catch. And now this one was a little tougher. I think this was great play design. This was a pressure, kind of like a hide route. Now I just want you to see all this communication that has to happen with the defenses. You have a wide receiver and we match up with the corner. These two tight ends. Watch the two safeties and all the communication that they're doing right now. Now your home as a defense, so hopefully your crowd is loud. It's got to be verbal and nonverbal. So I'm talking, but I'm also pointing, and they still get confused. They both run to the same guy and Drew Sample comes wide open. You want to see it one more time. Something funny, too. Joe Bro, look at his wristband for like five seconds before this play. I don't know if he forgot the play, but he was looking down there for a while. Looked up, he's got it. These guys in the back end do not. One, two guys, they're going to the flat to the tight end and Drew Sample's wide open, still in their blocking. He's going to sneak out of that back door. I'm sure AJ Hawke has seen his play a ton. Yeah, great play, great play action against pressure. Wide open, walk in touch. I really do you ever see a guy walking to the ends that don't like that on the feeling of national football? This is why it tight ends such a tough thing to judge how we're going to play, because it's very evident there. Down his three point stance, the play is developed. He's blocking. Yeah, it's going to get up on him. Let's give up on him. Instead, sneaks out wide ass open, touchdown. Joe Burr just needs to hit the broad side of a barn. Absolutely. And when you get in those bunches, bunches versus man-to-man coverage in third and two, you're almost always going to get some type of man-to-man coverage, even if it's a zone call. You're going to have to match those guys. So things have to happen fast. So when you have a plaque and fake like this, obviously going to respect the run, but those safety, sometimes it's a safety and a linebacker, sometimes a corner in safety. Not only do I have to tell you, they can snap the ball any time, but I have to show you. A lot of times you'll see guys pointing like, hey, I have this guy, I have this guy. And a lot of times you'll see in those bunches or stacks. Sometimes two guys end up on one, and one guy ends up wide ass open, especially the guy that's down there. He does a great job acting right here. Joe Sample taking his time and then leaking out of the back door. So this is great play design here. Yes, great execution. Great execution. They play called great play design. This is what we're talking about with offense coordinators. Be able to skeen people wide ass open. Exactly. You know what you're getting. You know you're getting man to man coverage. So let's call a man beater, right? And then you got to respect the run. Obviously as a defense, but let's call a man better. And let's be patient. You also have to protect long enough because if you run it back a little bit of Foxy, I think this is piran back during the backfill. He does a great job. The running back after the play, fake cutting this blitzer. Because if he doesn't cut that blitzer and we see it a lot, a lot of times running backs get ran right into the quarterback. He does that and that buys Joe bro enough time to get to the wide open tight end. AJ, he's going to be wide ass open if they can protect Joe bro long enough. Seemingly every single time gets lost in the sauce down there. Yeah, I'm sure every time they ran this in practice. Like, hey, just hold on. If we give Joe enough time, this is going to work. Because look at look up top to Jamar with a cut split and he runs this little end to take that. Make sure that corner's not sitting outside and fall back and make a tackle like I'm a five yard line. So yeah, beautiful play design. How about a slow Jamar runs that as if he's like setting something up real big, but you have to respect Jamar chase. Because Jamar chase. Absolutely. So he's going to take that guy out of there every single time. Yeah. Oh, yeah. This is Xactaylor kind of in his bag. God, man. Yeah. And especially because of how bad it looked the first half. I'm not getting going in the halftime. I was thinking like, Xactaylor is about to lose his job. They're getting dominated. This is ugly. He's yelling at the refs, even though he was definitely right about it in the first half. And then for them to come out and just be perfect, it was a master class. Historic second half. We'll listen to any bangles. I'll talk about a 35 point swing there against Baltimore Ravens. Are we worried about the Baltimore Ravens defense after watching that? Jesse Menter, obviously super genius on defensive side. We talked about defensive head coaches. He's one of the guys that gets that job over there in Baltimore after Harba leaves and goes to the Giants and they're in first place in the NFC East. Are we worried about the defense after what we just want? Weaver as well. I'm not worried about the defense. I believe you have talented good coaches. And you definitely have talented good players. Nate Wiggins, their former first round pick. He has all the physical tools. He had a tough outing. He's a good player. A hump for he's kind of getting up there in the age but he can still play a good ball. We know Kyle Hamilton. We know the player. He is Rokwan. They have too many good players. So I think at some point they'll figure it out, especially once they get their quarterback back. And I think Derek Henry will get going as well. So it's a complimentary league. Y'all often starts playing better. All of a sudden your defense starts playing better as well. And that's D-Bot Situations report. [APPLAUSE] Don't tell me I see that photo. I take to myself. That guy can fucking do it real seriously. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I think we trust him. Into the bottom of a lawyer. A lot of different. A lot of different roles he can play. And look, being able to still button that button with how broad the chest is. Right. Yeah. That's a lot. It does say a lot. Not just about the tailor, but also about the boy underneath. The tailor. Yeah, great tailor. But obviously, supposed to be in a suit there, it looks like. Look, I'm believable. Thank you for that breakdown of Joey B's second half with Cincinnati Bengals. I put him up for the Hemi. Yeah. No, I haven't won the Hemi yet. I don't know how that works. Where do you guys vote? Do people vote? I'm not sure. I didn't know there was a vote. I thought the other guy just picks it. Yeah, I thought Steve just says. That doesn't make sense. They put percentages down there. And I think it's because of vote. I don't know if Sam seems like. I like this one, 27%. I think that's what I think they do. And then they have to add up a couple of percentages at the end. Steve, that's actually 92% hard. Tossed four in a row on each one. The random shots of the other guy, like post game. Like those get better every week. Hit him sitting in an eagle stadium. Like, oh, I just appreciate the place when it's empty. Yeah, I can't believe Steve's living a lot area. This one. He's on press conferences. He's shooting jugs machines now. I will say the super catch that was first attempted on NFL live by Kyle Brandt and a couple producers. It worked out, you know, Steve under the hood, though. I mean, especially with the Monday night football, Monday night, countdown lights on him. Truly. He was really pumping that jugs. Whenever they set it up, I think they didn't have somebody that was necessarily a professional jugs user. So I think they thought that was the right distance. And it probably was. But when San Francisco gets in, it's Monday night football. And it's the NSC East, and it's the Cowboys and the Eagles. He got a little juice up there. He was sending mortars into these people. I mean, there was a crowd of humans just having balls coming. You know, pretty good. So we were appreciative that we got to do it. The Philadelphia Eagles in that state side live area said, no problem. You can do that. We got a chance to give away some Super Bowl tickets, some Marquita. Jason Kelsey makes a great catch for him. What a magical moment heading to the Super Bowl. We're also, I think, going to give some money for travel and hotel and everything like that. Hoping that future NFL teams will let us do this on a field. It'd probably be a little bit better if we're able to get a clear field, which there certainly is during that Monday night countdown time. But it all comes down to the teams allowing us to do it. I mean, those people saw waivers. Oh, yeah, everybody. It was a whole waiver game. And the thought of Jason Kelsey making the catch and handing it off to her is maybe the best outcome that we could have had for the first time. And he's a freak athlete for a big guy. You see, he just released a Sumo video. You see that? Have you watched the video yet? I did. You watched the whole video? I didn't watch the whole thing. I just saw some of the clips. The preview? Yeah. He stuck his head in there. Oh, yeah. I mean, he was run blocking. And I don't think, like, I'm correct me from wrong, but Sumo wrestlers usually keep their heads up and they kind of do this whole thing, right? And I saw him stick his head in there. I'm like, that's a good move. That's a good move. Put the forehead in there. So he talked about Coach Stoutlin talking about Sumo wrestlers and showing them Sumo wrestlers for some of the leverage. And I guess there was an undersized fella that he mentions. He knows the name. He says the name perfectly. So he just now that he's retired and his body is still able. He wanted to give it a go and try to learn. He had the full-- Yeah, the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee on. He was in there. I got to see him the day after he did this. He was like, I assume a wrestler all day yesterday. And I'm like, what do you mean? He was like, I did it. I was like, he said, I put the whole thing on. I was itchy. And I think he takes on each of you as one and a half points. But he was doing-- He's doing a lot of leverage stuff. I assume it's all for his YouTube because he whenever he did rugby, now he's doing Sumo. I think he has quite an affinity for the way humans can utilize leverage and move other people. And you offense, alignment, love that type of shit. How could we get better? I think it's what Jason Kelsey was trying to figure out for the American football player. But also, how do we represent against these guys if we were to go? I appreciate him doing that. I don't think his body is anywhere near 100%. But he's given it his all. I mean, we're watching his ass limp into things the next day. What'd you do yesterday? 450 pound guy, I assume I wrestled him. It's like, was it like for show? No, no, no. We're fun. I was trying to win him, yeah. He picked me up at one point, just like I was a child, kind of threw me around. But I think he got a couple of dubs. I'm going to watch the whole YouTube video. He is one of the most entertaining, just naturally humans, just looking at him, watching him operate the way he thinks, the way he talks, loves ball, loves everything about Philadelphia and football. Everything about him, I'm a big fan of, but just watching him kind of do life has been really fun. Because he's always, I think his intentions are always like the most positive, good time and pure. But also at any moment, he could beat the hell out of you. And that's a good little one to that. Well, he had, he was so unique because like everybody plays the position of center. I mean, most guys are 300 pounds, right? There was times by the end of the season. He was 270, 275, 268, whatever it was, right? And so understanding leverage and being able to bend and being able to use your legs and do different things that he was able to do was so impressive to me as when I watched him as a player. Best of all time, people talk about it, right? There's a lot of great centers. So having the best of greatest of all time is going to be very difficult, especially with the errors. But he's in that conversation, is he not? Yeah, and honestly, it was a great era of period. I mean, you had Pouncy, Alex Mack, you had him, right? Like those were like kind of like the three Eric Wood at a good little run until he got hurt, right? So, I mean, it was a very good run from about 2010 to 2020 of really good centers. Yeah, he was moving. Yeah, different than all those guys, right? All those other guys were kind of movers and shakers on the inside, he was the guy that got around and cleaned people up on the outside. Great athlete. So he's in the conversation for greatest center of all time. And then his brother has enough records that he can be considered the greatest tight end of all time. Pretty good. Yeah, not bad. Pretty good for him.
football family from Cleveland over there. There's another guy that doesn't look exactly like what we thought it would, but your takeaway from this past weekend is a phenomenal nostalgia treat. AQ said the thing that's not getting talked about enough is just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's all folks, it's, it's the one, huh? That's what you're saying in this entirety? - I mean, how good is that? You just nailed that. But yeah, listen, here's the deal, John Harbour, right? He wanted to set his culture and he made a point. He made an emphasis to come out there and basically call the running backs out, right? And so then, Naji Harris kind of questions, Coach Harbour's game plan of who's gonna be the starting running back and they end up just cutting them. Hey, let's get, hey, we're gonna get this guy out of there. But one of these guys got to step up and when you look at this guy, what he's able to do, he stepped up and took a hold of the job this past week. This first clip right here, you will see all these clips, it's the effort, it's the way that he finishes. We get the motion across, you got the full back, Patrick Ricard has been huge for the running game, but look at Scataboo as he gets his ball, bounce it outside, Ricard gets a pancake on the edge, always lower in his shoulder, getting lower than the other guy finishing. This next one called a penalty, certainly should not have been called a penalty. I hate that we're calling this a penalty because when you're running back, you got to lower your center of gravity and lower the boom one on one with his safety. Absolutely runs over the safety, they put a penalty on this absolute bullshit. This next one, awesome, right? You got two guys unblocked at the point of attack, you're gonna get them in the hole right there. Nope, get the fuck off me, bounce outside, spin, see you later. Let's run in, throw his shoulder, talk your shit, keep it moving, then the next one, hey, this guy's a bowling ball, right? He don't have any speed, let's fake the touch push. We've already set it up with Winston a couple of times and we give him the sweep on the outside. Great, he has the speed, unbelievable play call on a short yardage situation. This guy just took a hold, 17 carries, 124 yards in a tug. - And Scats All folks. - That's right. - And Scats All folks, John Hardball. I assume he understands why Scataboo is Scataboo now at this point. I like that he challenged him. I like that he said this is not what we're about, we're not fumbling a damn football. We're not doing any of that. We are a different type of team. Scataboo, back motivated for a team that's in a lead in the NFC East. AJ, what are you doing to Scataboo whenever he lowers his head and tries to run you through? And by the letter of the law, I do believe that would be considered targeting, but you very rarely see a call against the offense. - Yeah, you don't see it call very much against it. But I agree with you. I think it's a garbage call, you should not call this, but also I don't want to see any calls on like an interior and inside back or coming in and trying to make a hole, like a play here. You can't call it targeting, like, I feel like when you're in traffic or anything like that. But look, I mean, trust me, Houston's got numbers. We see eight in the box in multiple times here with these guys that doesn't matter. Like that's the thing, Scataboo is not just this straight, bruiser or whatever, running to the back of his line. And he has patients, he lets the blocks kind of, well, I have to let them develop and then bam, once he gets his foot in the ground, you see what happens. Like there's, you got guys taking poor angles left and right to make sure they don't get to, they're not the first guy to the ball. Like when you see a guy like Scataboo, you don't want to be the first guy there. - Yeah, Scataboo has been like this since high school. There's a kickoff, I think, where he runs through 10 guys. There's 11 guys on a field, 10 guys. He runs through. Then he went to Arizona State, did the same damn thing, took them to the playoffs. Okay, Scataboo goes to the playoffs with them. And then now with the New York Giants back from injury, which we all saw him do back flips a little bit early in the entire recovery process. We wondered if he was going to be able to be the same guy after his recovery and rehab. Is he going to be able to continue to be an NFL guy? He certainly showed that he can be. And Scat's all folks. - He was unbelievable. Scat's all folks. - Scat's all folks. - Scat's all folks. - Yeah. Unbelievable. - Go ahead J.J. McCarthy tremendously, too. They can keep running their ball like that. - Is there a quarterback controversy brewing in the New York Giants organization? - Yeah, there's no controversy. - Yeah. - What? - He's the, he continues to do this for the next 10 weeks. - Species like that, post game. - Yeah. - I was told this, one of our new general manager came in and I was on my contract year that there was no loyalty between us 'cause I didn't draft you. - It's a fair statement. - Okay, I agree. - Across the law. - Now there's another business and it does happen. That is a real thing that takes place. John Harball comes in, okay? Inherits Jackson Dart, who I think we all believe in. J.J. McCarthy, very tight with the Harball family. - Very tight. - Very, very tight with the Harball family. He comes in, plays good, one game. Okay, we have no idea. Well, 11 minutes in a fourth quarter, we almost brought him back into the Saints. One game though of starting, he plays great. If this does continue, it's gonna get very loud over there. And that sucks because the Giants fans, they knew Jackson Dart was our guy for the next 10 years. They're very excited. Now all of a sudden, J.J. McCarthy comes in and it's like, "Whoa, later, we have another guy that's our guy." How do Giants fans kind of feel about it all, Bruce? - I mean, in the short term, great. Joe Shane's got a lot of shit, but picking up J.J. McCarthy to basically save the season for a fifth rounder, sure feels like a stroke of genius. And like, there were reports that the front office was really, really high on J.J. In the draft, but thought that his personality wouldn't necessarily mesh well with Dayball, obviously with Harball now. It's a little bit different, probably a better fit. You know, I hope he keeps it up for 10 weeks and wins a couple of playoff games and it's like, shit, what do we do? That would kind of be amazing. But the separator to me is just the availability. Like, Jackson, at this point, has shown like, obviously he was a freak knee injury, but he's just still been getting hit and hasn't taken that sort of maturity step to say, "Hey, I gotta get rid of the ball." Or like, "Hey, let's just live to fight another down or punt." And J.J. at least, you know, through one game, showed kind of a different level, I think, in my mind of growth to say, "Hey, I can't get hurt here," or "We're fucked." So, for that reason, I could see it being like, "Hey, maybe we should just stick with J.J." And Scats all folks. That's it. Scats all folks. Scats all folks. You know, quarterback there, he's gonna be very similar to what he did in Michigan. Yeah. You know, a lot of this. Let's get in the right point. And then he's gonna have to make a throw at some point. And can he do it? Tight window throws. It appeared as if he could this last weekend. We didn't think that J.J. had that. Yeah, tight window throws. Big window, anybody can do that. Tight window, gotta win playoff games with those. Can J.J. McCarthy do that? We shall see if they get to that position. They're in the lead in the NFC. You see that fucking low, you guys, mate. That's right. That's the stuff. The secret sauce. That's there. That's it. That's a New York Giants start in quarterback. Yeah. That's a pivotal role in the NFL. Oh, yeah. Being the Giants front man. Yes. And J.J. McCarthy might be perfect for it. I think so. Good luck out there, J.J. And Scats all folks. Scats all folks. All right, let's go with top five offensive lines. Come out a week seven of the NFL season. Every week we go in the trenches with AQ Shipley. The number five offensive line. Wow, Pittsburgh Steelers. Up from the town with the great football team. Go on in block them. Steelers. That's what you're saying? That's the Pittsburgh polka. Yeah. Wow, it's from Pittsburgh. I'm surprised you know about that. A little like Donny Iris. Oh, shut up. Well, the boys of summer, right? Don Henley has come out of a badge. Just real quick. That's Don Henley. Excuse me. Wow. We'll get to the Pittsburgh Steelers. I guess I'm. It's all the segment after that district crack. This man's from the same town as Joe Nardo. Joe Nardo, great stopper reader of all time. That's some piece to Joe. AQ. That's right. His first words about him on this show is. I was never really the Nardo guy. I don't know how that's involved. Said he was never right. Oh, I want to go golf on my day. I want time. He told me he wasn't going to. Unbelievable. You won't judge Donnardo for his entire, you know, portfolio of work. As opposed to one day you want to golf with your dad, okay? That was disgusting. Important. The way you were yet. Recipes Joe. I miss you, Joe. Got too soon. Agreed. There's a lot of situations where if Joe was still here, we'd all be in a much better spot. Jim Cantor. He's actually said that before. He passed away in 2018. Yeah. COVID never happens if Joe's still here. There's a chance. We don't know what Joe would have done because Joe said it would. And then now, Donny Irish, the most prolific musician and artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passes away. And AQ's first reaction is, were you a Donny Irish guy? I was never, yeah, right. Thank you. We were all Donny Irish's guy. Okay. I'll leave. W-D-V-E. Yep. Not a lot of Pittsburgh love was happening nationally in Donny Irish crack through and remain true to his roots. He'd do a show, his south side, he'd get down to the station square, he'd do a little bar down there, anywhere. And this guy has no respect. I hate it. I want to let you know that. You heard what Tim McVee said over here? Tim McVee almost buckled his knees whenever he found a Donny Irish man. I heard. That's been down in the dumps ever since he heard about it. Yeah. Turned off the internet this morning because of it. Two hours, can't look anymore. Donny Irish called me a jago off one time, it was the honor of my life. And what'd you say, AQ? I need a juke box hero. That's not Donny. Is that him? No. No. Penny on the fence. What's so funny, everybody's got big balls on it. Is it most famous? Okay. Come on out of Pittsburgh? Yeah. He's above Brett Mike. What's going on? Brett Mike was set. Brett Mike was set. Brett. He said without Donny, he would have never been. Brett Michael. Yeah. Nobody would have been anything in Pittsburgh if it wasn't for Donny Irish. I mean, this is just how. Donny was also in the band Wild Cherry, which, of course, sang play that funky music white boy. Mm-hmm. Bannock, Mark, and music. Bannock. Yeah. He used to say Donny, they changed it to white boy. They looked at him and said, you know, it actually sounds a little better. Why was it vanilla? It's original. Okay. Excuse me. He is said white boy who played some funky music. But that comes from, you know, Donny Irish's brain, if I had to guess.
There's no ice, also credits Donnie Irish for his entire career.

- Who, Honest Abraham?
- Well, I'd like to know if that was every day of his life
or just the document of stuff.
At some point, Abe had to do a little bit of--
- I'm sure, a little bit of a--
- I don't know what to say.
- Can't really communicate amongst towns anymore, right?
I mean, those people back in the day, you'd go,
what, a mile that way?
You don't never hear from anybody this way.
- Never farted in front of his wife and lied about it.
- Had to have let one out.
Especially with how tall he is,
and how terrible that food was back in the day.
- In her face.
No, until he could have been me.
- Jesus Christ.
- Very tall.
What's wrong with you?
- I stopped.
It was a big.
- They call me a liar.
- On his day, I didn't fart.
- Okay.
- And you can take that to the bank.
- I take what you should.
- What they didn't really have back then.
How were the banks back in the day?
I don't know, I know dollar bills were like as big as this.
- Yeah.
- Tough to.
- Examples of deception or political maneuvering,
is this for Abe Lincoln here?
- Yes it is.
- I don't like the thought of us looking on the internet
for them to tell us what I want to say, dinner didn't do.
- Yeah, we don't need this.
I want to say, did it all good.
- That's right.
- He was good.
I think they have a younger Abraham Lincoln photo
on the Lincoln financial field.
It's not like the older Lincoln.
It's like a teenage, maybe young 20s.
- Handsome Abe.
hands had a gun ready to go.
- That's a ball cap to the side.
Not the big top hat that everyone knows.
- Exactly, yeah, he has a baseball cap.
- Yeah, exactly.
- Yeah, that is on a save that we know.
Okay, now that you've disrespected after this.
- Oh, let's go, let's go.
- I know on a save was a pitcher.
- Yeah, we get dunked too.
- He played tackle as well.
- He actually struck out John Wilkes Booth,
that's why he blew his brain so.
- He was just, oh boy.
Never got over it.
- Three pitchers.
- Yeah, exactly, really embarrassed him.
- What was it, it was all heat too much.
- Two heaters, big 12/6 curve ball dropped off the table.
I guess Wilkes Booth, yeah.
- About over.
- I'm just older than the-- - You put the--
- Right down the middle. - I mean, he's like,
(mimicking)
- Okay. - I feel that sentiment.
- Where's he at? - That's bad ball for you.
- Is that a theater, huh? - Okay.
- Maybe we don't know, actually.
They don't have like every moment documented back then.
We don't know if there was a pick up baseball game
to potentially end the war.
In Abraham Lincoln was like, I'm on a bond.
You're right, play-- - I want Wilkes Booth!
Get him in the box!
Maybe it was just Wilkes Booth first Abe for the entirety.
- Good of it.
- You're talking about 27 times for slavery.
- Yeah.
27 strikeouts by Abe and Wilkes just was made fun of.
So his wife left them 'cause how embarrassing
it was on the diamond.
Somebody should look at it.
We don't know if that's real or not.
- Might be another time Abe lied.
Here comes the heater.
- Oh, the last out.
- God, he.
because he believed him. - Six curbs. - Six curbs, gotta. - His pitch was both hands too, right? First four and a half innings. - Yeah, he bounced it back between right and left. - Oh wow. - And Wilkes Booth was in the pinch hitter. He was like, I can't buy fucking lefty on lefty. I can't hit this guy. - And he took that glove over to the other side. - Yup. - Mm-hmm. Pretzel. - Got it. - Shoutout to Honest said, doing it. - Shoutout. - But we do think he lied a little bit about some stuff. To maybe the good stuff happened. Which we appreciate him doing. - To toss on baseball. - Yeah. - To save with the baseball, actually, we have some. - Yeah, he was from the game. - Before we became, oh, well history revealed. We appreciate that. Okay, we keep him up there. I think we saw Egyptian. Before we became president, Abraham Lincoln was depicted in a courier in Eves political cartoon facing three adversaries with baseball bets. - It's pretty much how you described it, huh? - Yeah. - To the tee. - John Williams had a little one in the middle there. That's him. You can see how he would have little man complex with a really pissed off about it. I mean, that bet's bigger than him. I don't know how he thought he was ever gonna get a hit. But that's what these people can kind of convince themselves that they can do. - Yeah. Little John Wilkes Booth in the middle there was just fucking Abe Lincoln. It was like, we got the little fat one again. All right, here we go. I like that. - He was a good shot, though. - And that's why they called America's past time. - Exactly. World Series tonight, 8 PM Eastern on Fox, we find out who is the champion of this MLB. We know who's the champion back in. - That's right. - Abraham Lincoln. - We would like you all to source your own information to find out if that's true or not. - It's probably a good idea. - Could be. - I got the constitution right here. So. - It's a good point. - It's a good point. - I actually do know what's real and what's not. - Can you get to the part where it talks about the baseball game? - The entire thing's in here. - Yeah, open that up. - Yeah, can you? - No, no, no. - No, no, we have to check it. - We have to check it. - He's lost his value. - Yeah, this is the original. - Okay, what part does it say where he struck him out 27? - That is the front. - Because we the people and it has a fun there. - Where's the baseball part? - On the back right here. I'm reading it. - Can you tell me what it says? - Abraham Lincoln. - One of the greatest right and left hand throwers of his generation. - I know it. - And then actually below that just says 98 mile per hour fastball. - Care. - Basically. - And that time? - 85 mile per hour curve ball. - Wow, I don't even change up. - Well, change up, come on. 80 mile per hour change up. - Whoa, he wokes booth out of his little baby shoes. - Yeah, 91 mile per hour slider. So, yeah, I think we take that to the base. - Do you have his dims on there? - DIMs? - Six six. - Yeah. - Six six, six eight and a half with cleats as well. - Oh, he has a big cleats. - Yeah. - It's like the first minute is. - He is, which we can see tonight. - Yeah. - It's like Randy Johnson. - Are you sure that's the constitution? 'Cause it looks a lot like the Declaration of Independence. - Oh, oh, that's what I'd say right there. - I'd say the constitution of the United States is the constitution of the United States of America. - Okay, that's our country right here. - So, yeah. - Did they give a stats for his game against John Wilkes Booth? - That actually, they kind of tried to erase those ones. They have his career stats, 220 and 0. So, 0.45 ERA. - Wow. - It's gave up a hit to Mel Gibson. - How come it's called? - It's great, great grandson from the Patriot. - What year was that? - 18. Hold on. - Great grandson from the Patriot. - Yeah, it's character in the Patriot. - Probably the Patriot. - 18. - It's another country, dude. They get all get it. - 18. - 28. - I'm gonna step on the diamond with fucking Abe. - No, I don't. - Exactly. Exactly. People got real mad at him without getting he was a baseball. We might see that again, who knows? But tonight, the Miz, the modern Abraham Lincoln on the Mount, can do something that only sandy co-facts in Smoky Joe would have done in the history of baseball, EJ. History's on the line tonight. And we will be the ones who will continue to tell what history actually could be. Not it could have been. Now, speaking of history, who makes history this week? Who are the top five performing offensive lines? In the NFL coming out of week seven, let's go in the trenches with A.Q. Shipley. (audience cheering) Number five, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Home of a lot of amazing things, rest in peace, all those who have passed. - Yeah, since week three, one of the best offensive lines in football, let's start with the Pittsburgh Steelers. One of my favorite plays in football, it's the old school duo play. Let's start with Zach Frazier from West Virginia. Probably the best center in the NFL right now. And then take a look at the left side. They're gonna fan out, Mason McCormick, Troy Foughton, who there it is. Look, you get Zach Frazier up on the backside, duo play front side, Juicy is cutting footballs. What? The backside A gap, one on one with a safety. There he is, freezes him, bounce it outside, and there goes Jalen Warren. - Hey, the backside cause, that on duo as well is there a certain play because Eagles and Cowboys both to start Monday night football are cutting back on the duo, and it was wide ass open. And I said a couple times to Jason Kelsey while he was talking about that on the RV. I said, "Juicy is cutting football." - Nobody got a response. - Nobody got a response from anybody. I felt super smart. Is that what they're talking about? - Absolutely. Any time you run duo and any time you pull the backside guard so any type of power play, because what happens is AJ knows this, right? You're reading the key of that guard. And that guard flows over the top. So now they fly over the top. And as long as you get a little nose, he's on the backside, you get everybody over the top and then boom, that backside eight cut is huge. - Boom, it's always open, D-1. - Safety, man. If you pause it as soon as he gets, if you pause it here, like that safety 21, you got to put that on your left shoulder and it's a lot easier to sense it from his desk because then you got the other big fellows from the inside. You can't let him get outside, but great read, great explosion. Like I said, that's very tough when you're feeling from downhill. - Congratulations, it's Pittsburgh. See, there's number five performing offence line, coming out on week seven. Who's the number four offence line? How about the Los Angeles Ray? - Ooh. We had Matthew Stafford on earlier this week. We appreciate the hell out of him. Everybody that has talked about the Rams, even with their incredibly slow starter set, there's enough time for the amount of talent that they have. Now we're finding out the offence line is maybe the top five o-line in the lead. Do you believe in the Los Angeles Rams, IQ? - I do, I like their offence of line. Obviously they had their left tackle, get suspended a couple of weeks ago, right? But then you got, each guy, man for man, is not one of the top players in this position, but together as a group, they play very well together. And then they love going 13 personnel. As we see this, right? We're gonna get Davis Allen. He was the star of the week, right? He scores two touchdowns, we get him across. We're gonna get him and Higby on the double team. And then we're gonna get the double team between McClendon and Dotson right there. This is another duo play. Best playing football, in my opinion, 'cause you get double teams everywhere. And then you get Winnington out there on the edge. You see that right there? Right there, he gets the butt. You get the butt off the double team. You find an open hole, you get one on one with chin, the safety, and Korum does the rest. Unbelievable job, they're a really good football team. - Yeah, Korum and Williams in the backfield, they're able to remain healthy. Got a good offensive line. And then the weapons down the field, Pukinacu is gonna eat. Matthew Savage is gonna be able to find one of their tight ends. They do go big personnel a lot. Does that help the offensive line? - 13 personnel, big personnel, when you add the extra online minute or using a fullback. And what they do with the 13 personnel is one of those tight ends ends up being the fullback. So it ends up getting to 12, and then whether it's Davis Allen, whether it's Higby, with Parkinson, any one of those tight ends, they can motion into the backfield. They fold block a lot. They bring Pukinacu in as a fullback. They do so many different things, which helps their offensive line. - Congratulations Los Angeles Rams. Number four offensive line coming out of week seven. Now, this one's gonna get the boys buzzing. Scats all folks. Number three performing offensive line coming out of week seven. New York Giants 4-2-1. - Oh my God. - You're trying to see the NFC. - They bring Greg Romagnan. They bring in Patrick Ricard as their fullback, but let's start on the outside. You got Malachi Fields, the rookie right there. Guess who he's gonna crack block? Will Anderson, who's probably been the best defensive player in football through the first half of this season, right? He gets a great crack block to get things started. Look at Andrew Thomas. He's their all-world left tack when you get Hudson, who's filled in at center over the last couple of weeks. They do a great job at the point of attack and then look at Patrick Ricard, getting the block out in space. But look at that. Everybody's a hat on a hat front side, and then you get scataboo in space. That's exactly what you want. - Scats all folks. This is the playing coming into the year. It's gonna be able to run the ball well. Have they been able to accomplish that every week, or is it just showcase this week because Scats goes crazy and single-terry finishes it off? - Yeah, it hasn't been every week. There's no doubt about that. They've been struggling to kind of get the run game going, but this past week, like I said, Harbock calls out scataboo in the running back room. The offensive line is now starting to play better together and then Ricard. Anytime you got a 300 pound fullback, use him. He's unbelievable. He had probably five or six knockdowns in this game, but he is the key. Just like you's checking San Francisco. You get him out in space, blocking a DB. - Sixth offense alignment can pick up anybody that's free. That's great for the O line. That's great for your run game. Let's go to the number two, perform an offensive line coming on week seven. Cleveland Brown. - Cleveland Brown. - Cleveland Brown. - Cleveland Brown. I have a lot of top five lists, all of a sudden. Leaders of the AFC North tell us about a MAQ. - Yeah, I really like this group. And the more and more I watch them, the more I like them more. You're going to motion the fullback into the back field here. And here's what I like, what they do. They're sprinkling in a little bit of the old Ravens run scheme. That's where Monkin came from, obviously, right? So you get a fullback there. Now we're going to send the motion across. This is what I love the most about this. We send the motion across. All the eyes are over there. Get the deception over there. Now we're going to fan the back side. Send the fullback week. Hold everything. You create that huge hole on the back side. Nobody knows where to go. And then front side, Fano. Their first round pick out of Utah. Great job, Zion Johnson. They've rebuilt their entire offensive line. And then Juddkins down the sideline. Huge run. Again, this group rebuilt their entire offensive line. Literally from left tackle across. You get the rookie first rounder. Fano at left tackle. Zion Johnson comes over from the charges. They pay him. They bring Elton Jenkins from Ty's Green Bay Packers. Austin Barber, one of the best rookies. He's only a third rounder, not getting talked about enough, but he's starting at right guard, rookie out of Florida. And then Big Ty's Howard comes from Houston Texans. So really rebuilt their entire group, really doing some good things with Munkin as the coordinator. And then Juddkins is healthy and you get that thing going. Judgans on tax.
And NCAA football. Yeah, he was. Yeah, that's what I remember right out of his college run Not that he wasn't untacklable in real life, but in the video game Outrageously tough to stop starting to come a video game Cleveland Brown's number on the FC North AJ I got a question for you right if we can go back to the very beginning of this Foxy if we can go back to the beginning once we motion the full Back into the back field right AJ when you get an eye formation and the fullback goes weak Can you talk about what that does to the linebackers when you're running strong? Yeah, you call it like you call it split flow with fullback and tillback go different directions like that It kind of slows you down watched up 50 here the backer. He almost thinks he has passcode. Look at him He takes a drop when you see that flow He's a big at player so he should be coming down pressing line But something has taken him out there like they have some other kind of screen or something set up But yeah, when you have split flow, it kind of makes you you have to hold a beat you have to stay you can't go flying over the top So it just puts you a step behind and you've got like judkins and then it's blocked this well Yeah, you're kind of screwed. Hey strong strong strong you're changing here as soon as he motions over there Ruggers are too late. We'll see on the line at first or not off ball No, I mean you just bump bump bump bump, you know, just bump your gaps Bump your gaps. They did not quench on judkins has the explosive. Is this sustainable for the Browns? They're gonna be a good football team very good football team I think they're doing everything right the run game starting to get going their offense aligns doing a great job But to Sean Watson has been really good and they're doing a nice job kind of protecting them Everything the balls out quick. They got play actions. They got easy runs They're sprinkling in like I said a lot of this Jet motion and then you get him going up inside. He's gonna keep the ball a couple times They're doing so many different things to make his life and his job easier They're making the olange job easier and they're just running simple, but efficient offense all those Motions and shit you gotta remember so there could have been some time here earlier We're just trying to figure out what to fuck this offense is too as everybody was yeah, cuz that's a lot of Remember that's like with two oh with that Miami offense. Yeah, the amount of motions and everything you have to do Everybody says yeah, it's good distraction for the defense. It's also a distractor potentially for the quarterback Trying to figure out what are we on? What is my progression? What do I need to do? That's a lot of shit you have to thoroughly understand feels like the Sean has a great handle of what this Brown's offense is too Absolutely you that's you know, that's just what's expected for a a quarterback in the national ball We are remember the viral clip of like John Groot and I think Chris Sims And you know just trying to get that full-play out and take control of a huddle But while you're speaking you kind of have to visualize it as well and know, you know your shifts and your motions And like AJ mentioned you see what just a little move can do for defense or defender Whenever you get to the point we've all been there You get to a point where so much going on as a young player once you get to the point where you're not really thinking about what you have to do And now you can see the opponent and what they're doing. That's when you really playing football letting your Athleticism take over. I think that's why we see so many buss like a lot of everybody's a great athlete on this level But unless you can figure it out between the ears and let your instincts take over you don't have a chance on Sunday a couple rookies on this offense line They had no idea if they were going to be good. They just trusted that they would and now they're performing for him Yeah, I love absolutely love for no, I loved him coming out I actually liked him better than Lomu right and he ends up going a lot higher and there was one There were one a one b every time everybody looked at those Utah tack was it was like well who's gonna be better Well, obviously this guy gets drafted higher He's an absolute stud steps in day one starter But nobody thought this Austin barber. He's a six foot seven tackle from Florida And they got him playing inside playing right guard and he bends well He moves well. He has picked it up from day one. He's been great So that's a big part of going from outside to inside is you got to be able to get lower right? That's why like Makai back to wherever he moved to guard for the Philadelphia Eagles Nobody really expected it to be great. It did work out great because he was too big right? That's a thought his tackles can't be guards because of two tall anytime. I see six foot seven six foot eight And it's like oh, we're gonna move him inside. It's like I don't know if that's gonna work because you're going against all these six one six two note Like you're playing Byron Murphy in Seattle dude six one low-man wins like foot it's it's it's as old as time goes right? I mean you know low-man wins leverage. That's what Jason Kelsey study all these things if you are lower You're gonna win and so you get all these guys and I'm just sitting there pressing this six foot eight guy because he can't get underneath them Well, this guy's bending this guy's bending these moving people also middle of the pocket six with seven quarterback done I love that. No, that is not necessarily conducive to good throwing lanes But the Sean's been able to figure it out. So as he shot it to all of them can grass and a branch Now let's go to the number one performing offensive line coming out of week 70 NFL season to Dallas Cowboys Says a historic night for himself. They get a huge win. They're one and a half games out of the NFC He's lead behind the New York Giants. What did you see that you loved? Thank you Well, the one thing I'll say is you can't control who you play You just got to show up and play and you got to beat the shit out of him when you have a chance to play against a defense Who isn't playing very good? And that's that Philadelphia Eagles defense. They're not playing great But again a lot of people play down to their competition. This group did not they showed up in the handled business I love this little ace block again. We got big personal. You see the extra alignment on the outside The right guard center ace block right there booker. He has been the jailing Carter killer since college Comes out Alabama former first round pick but again right there knocks the nose over Climes of the second level and who's he blocking at the second level AJ That's Zach Bond unbelievable defense a player then you see that flag coming at the end That's not on the offense. That's a face mask on the defense But again huge hole tearing steel climbs up Williams unbelievable this group showed up on monday night. Williams had a historic night for himself Best he's ever had for yards touchdowns. Yeah, I think everything he could have broke his own self-recker or have a person record for He did against this Eagles defense We don't have to dive into why the Eagles defense is not good. We're all very confused by it This the worst Vic Fangio defense. He's had in over a decade or something like that But the status cowboys offense a line they can carry them throughout the rest of the year Because I think you're gonna have to a lot of dac throw and dac throw and we got questions about George pickins blocking We got questions about can they get to about a CD if he can run it makes everything else a lot easier They be able to continue to do this. Yes, and they've been good all year They've invested in their offensive line gait and the left tackle former first round pick right you got Terrence steel He's been there forever, but all these guys they've brought in Tyler Smith the left guard I absolutely love. He's an absolute pit bull Booker first round pick bb. He's a draft pick, right? So every single one of these dudes on their upfront offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys They've invested in and they've always built from within in their offensive line That's top five top five top five performing offensive lines coming out a week seven of the NFL season in a Q She's eyes in the trenches a J what does this tell you about these five teams pal? I mean, I especially the cowboys I would feel like the Cowboys fans should have a lot of hope because they absolutely dominated up front in that game I know Philly isn't playing well this year, but they have very very good players So I think if your team is in this top five you absolutely have a chance to win it all What happened? The coach They traded their best offensive line remember last year. Oh, yeah first eight weeks. They were on here all the Seattle should be on here coming up They were oh, yeah, I did they will I'm saying how many how often is Seattle? Seattle's been on a couple times and honestly they they have not been great this year, but here's what I will say about Seattle they look the best that they've looked all season finally connected in the combo blocks and everything new offensive coordinator takes some time to get going But Monday night football was the best that they looked and again when you look at this group really good You got quit Nelson coming into town. How good is he? Look at him climb. He's an absolute mall or against the Baltimore Right all these clips. Wait. Do you see him? Here's what I like about him here. He's a prick watch him climb on Wilson Right here as he climbs and beats the shit out of the defense attack will get up seals that whole edge and then You're gonna see some more of him being a prick. Let's climb on the linebacker right here Here's what I love watch this when he takes him down boom and then rubs is nuts over top of tea bags That was it guess what it's coming again here he goes on Wilson boom same thing Let's put his ass on the ground and then climb over top of them make sure his helmet goes between your legs This is what I love about you're getting a guy with attitude. He plays physical. He plays top But then he's athletic gets out on the edge and carries the dude out in space. He's been doing that since he got here Yeah, and he chases the ball down the field every single time whenever he's a little bit banged up He won't be the first guy to the ball But he's trying to be the first guy to the ball carrier every single time Literally a pillar that you would want around your team forever, right? Play fast play physical place smart That's the first three pillars be big be athletic be an asshole. Those are the next three. He's got them all You don't let that guy out your building, and they just did. No, okay. That's not what dogs are looking for baby Dodds is looking for speed in style in Swagga, okay I wouldn't work triple S. That's right. What about? Possess you think they they're probably looking for a little possess maybe a lot of possess You know, but right now when it comes to what what did you say mean asshole prick athletic athletic But they don't want that asshole Zable moves over to the right where you play in college, right? Yeah, and Zables played four different positions in college So I don't think this is anything unusual for him I think it's gonna be an easy transition go back over he played left tackle left guard right guard right tackle all at North Dakota state So I think that's an easy transition. Let's move him to right guard Bradford was kind of looked at as I'm the kind of the weak link over there But now this guy's got a lot of starts over the last few years great depth piece And now you move Zable over there and you got quit Nelson. They got a great line. How do they describe Zable? I mean just an absolute pit bull like a younger quentin Nelson to be quite honest with you know They're both in the same building and Quentin Nelson's gonna get another deal here. He's a rental for the Seattle Seahawks We assume they will love him and try to get something done Especially if they have massive success quick, which we all assume they will he has been They put a video of him walking in the building for the first son. He'll be fighting on Monday night football Yeah, he'll play on Monday night football We get a chance to see that his first game for the Seattle Seahawks Obviously, it'll be a prime time game as a Seattle Seahawks continue to try to Maybe go back to back in the Super Bowl. I think bringing Quentin Nelson in certainly helps that asset and I can't believe he's not a member of the Coltsuit like I'm just kind of you know the force Buckner He's not here anymore. He's no crack cuz it's over smock as it happened There'll be there'll be new one hard to make that one working. There'll be new guys Look at me. Oh JJ. Why was so fucking funny wasn't he?
Well, maybe the next guy will be able to find like a really good offense alignment that can kind of hold down one of the most important, or maybe they're able to find with one of those pictures in the middle of rounds that a really good detackle, that's like perennial. We might. Well, maybe you find a wider series that can just get open, which is what everybody's looking for right now, especially in the slot. Maybe you'll find a running back that is top five in the lead. How do we not win with all these fucking guys? Great question. Great question. Team Dane. One that's still on the table for all these guys, by the way, which isn't getting done. It's a good player. Like these guys? We're like you do your own research on what's real and what is not whenever we talk about things that are happening behind closed doors. But not with Abe Lincoln, though. Well, how's about to say we do. We still do not know what happened with Abe Lincoln. Well, I don't know about baseball stuff, but something that is completely verified. He would have definitely made the trenches up. I believe he had a great wrestling record, like 300 and one or some shit like Abe. Yeah. Do you think he would have been attacked? There was a round thing. I know that. And that's confirmed. You can look that one up. No, but he would be a left tackle. Cause that's worse. Right. Worfs. Yeah. Worfs. Linderbaum. Yeah. Linderbaum center. He's a great wrestler. Worfs. Tackle. Normally the wrestlers we hear are centers and guards. It's a little bit bigger. You don't really hear about tackles much. Worfs would be the answer. Abe would be the. He was like, you know, he'd probably be like one of tight as you bring in 13 personnel. Wrong. I thought he'd think the first ever WWE superstar now. Like Greg ol' Roman wrestling here speaking of two. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Oh, is that. Oh, we held the strap. He was the first one. I had the spinner title which John Cena paid homage to because John Cena Marine wanted to pay his respects to former commander in chief Abraham Lincoln who obviously led a massive dub. So yeah, they started WWE back at backlash right after we wrestled many wasn't enough. He wanted one more shot. So he did create backlash and I believe this is. This is real. This is the WWE's website. He is a wrestling all fame. Hello. That was mine. And you should have seen. He was the first one that popped out with one of these spinners. Invented the choke slam. What? The first Cincinnati streak fight as well. What? Yeah. You know this. I thought he was talking about tables, iders and chairs. Jeff Hardy said when he saw Abraham Lincoln do that swan ton bomb in the book, because he had pictures of it. He said, that's what I'm going to do and he still doing it to this day. The Abraham Lincoln swan ton bomb legend called the segregation bomb back then. The anti segregation bomb is what he called it. I can't believe he started spinners. The trail spree. Well, I mean, I had to do some real research to get in there and figure out the spinners because they don't stop. They don't stop. He rides spinners. He rides spinners. They don't stop. Man, music used to be so special back in the day. Oh, yeah. Congrats to Jay Z. Hell yeah. Woo. Go. Oh, Roger Adele said, hey, listen, if we're doing this whole rock nation does the halftime show with Apple music, I'm going to need you in there at least one time. Oh, so you you got it. So he's doing it. Is this the last year of rock nation? I've just closed. I believe two years ago, they signed an extension, but they did not mention how many years it was for. Yeah, I'm not saying I do not know the information. We looked this up earlier. We do not have an exact end or expiration of Jay Z and rock nation and Apple music running the halftime show for the NFL. But if this was a potential last one and the agreement was between Adele and Jay Z for him to do it, that would make a lot of sense. Even though a lot of people are kind of coming after him for doing this, it's like this is probably pretty understood that this was going to happen. He's been doing shows. Yeah. Get back in. I think the features are going to be crazy. Oh, yes, I think it's going to be, I think it's going to be quite a spectacle if I had to guess age, if I had to guess that's what, I mean, that's what it's about, right? Like, who are they going to be the surprise features to pop out and then everyone gets all juiced? Like, he could do this throughout the whole set. And last year, it was fun trying to learn Spanish, but the vibes just of it all. It was. It was pretty viby. I think somebody got married in there. Remember? Yeah. Very legally married. So people got married in the end of it. There was celebration. And he threw a football. He jumped off. There was good show. There's expected good spectacle. I think Jason's capable of doing that. I agree. I think he's capable of doing that. I can't wait to watch. You know what else? I can't wait to watch and learn. What's happening? Cool. Let's learn about some defense. Oh, yeah. Here we go. Ladies and gentlemen. It's time for everything DB with Darryl St. Butler. Good day. Who around the NFL was swinging that thing? Who's potentially going to win a championship with their great ass D who needs to be celebrated for how good that D really is? Let's go to everything DB. Good D with Darryl St. Butler. A couple of teams. A couple of defenses that can win a championship potentially. We actually mentioned brick in this defense. He's been doing a phenomenal job with it as of late Jesse Bates. He's been a dynamic playmaker since coming into the national football league. Third right now among active players with interceptions. And right now you're just going to see him in the middle of field. Nope. I'm going to rotate down and be a man to man coverage. And we saw the scramble drill earlier with Joe Burrow and T Higgins. This is the scramble drill again. Now it's a little different when you're not on the same page with your quarterback. You see here some miscommunication. He thinks he's going somewhere else. Jesse Bates maybe he's trying to throw it away last minute. Nope. I got hands. Not a DB. This is his 28th interception. 14 with the bangles. Now it's 14th with the Falcons. You don't see receivers, you know, get that Tony toe tap on the sideline like that. Secure the catch ball. Did not move. All hands catch. Just a phenomenal play by a phenomenal playmaker. Jesse Bates. We very rarely see a Brock Freddie mistake. Is that now incredible catch? But we were talking about this earlier. It's like Brock Perty very rarely has one of these. He's just known to make the right decision. We've remembered a couple of bad games that he's had. Remember Cleveland he had a bad game. There's a couple others. It's very rare for Brock Perty to make like a self inflicted negative type of mistake. There was one. I don't think it's just because Brock Perty. I think it's the land of defense for real. Yeah, defense they're going to force it and they force a lot. They were plus four in turn. Are you creating four turnovers? Two interceptions and two force fumbles. Jesse Bates also had a force fumble late against George Kidd or the ball. That game was kind of out of hand but still a force fumble against another great player. So yeah, it's one thing to make a mistake but then for the defense or the defender to make you pay for it. That's another thing. Jesse Bates, he is definitely going to make you pay for it. Jesse Bates, the third, sixth career game with an interception and a force fumble. Only other player to have more past 40 seasons in the last 40 seasons. Rod Woodson. It's a great day. Great day. Yeah, I think so. There's a bunch of stats coming out about Jesse Bates. One of them that has been talked about enough since any bangles downfall started whenever they let him out of the building. He goes down to Atlanta, obviously continues his Hall of Fame career. We assume. Go ahead, Dee Bates. Unbelievable. Yeah, talk about another safety. Been back. We talked about Brian Branch a little earlier. We've got Kirby, Joseph News for the Detroit Lions. Once they're together, they'll be probably the best duo on the league if they're fully healthy. And right now we know Jordan Love set rep a few weeks ago was Jordan Love taking shots to Christian Watson. Brian Branch was probably watching deep in the post, great break, great read. And once again, making the quarterback pay for taking the chance. Jordan Love, he sees this matchup. He's going to make this story number nine every time. And really, do you see a DB go up with a big time wide receiver? I mean, Christian Watson, that's a 6'5 wide receiver. You see him go up and Moss guy's weekend a week out, but Brian Branch made his presence felt. And he had a limited snaps. I think like 45 snaps, somewhat of a pitch count. So we'll expect him to be out there full time pretty soon here, but Brian Branch, he's going to make his impact feel every week. Kelvin Shepard, thank you. He's lucky. Oh, yeah. Here's that. Brian Branch back on the football field, because there's been a lot of people saying it's the worst defense of all time. Yeah. If you look at the defense, I would definitely wouldn't say that the cornerbacks are the strengths of their defense. You know, they have a past Russian, a good past russure. But if you have those safeties, they can help you not only run game, especially branch, but in that past game as well and creating turnovers is always premium because when you get a turnover, you're handing the ball to the guy that we got earlier on the show. Jamir Gibbs, Jared golf plan and MVP level. So yeah, turnovers and extra possessions are huge. Jamir Gibbs bit of a smart ass. I like him. He's hilarious. He's a mart too. Rest of the mart. Yeah. Yeah, dressed up as Jeff already last year. I think him talking about Jared golf, you never know what's real. What is it? I think he's probably pretty similar. I think him and golf pretty tight. Yeah, but he did kind of mention like his first year there. I bet they were kind of just both like fuck this guy, like what? And then they're like, oh, okay. We're the same. He just beats our casticle. Yeah, we got the exact people. Yeah. Okay. We can really benefit from each other. They are a good team up there in Detroit. You know what? You saw an ass kicking down here, divisional ass kicking in the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now Baker may feel came back. Didn't have to do much. Defense wants to get kicked out. So I believe they were plus four as well in the turnover battle. This is Tai Chi Smith. You know, he can't take Scott's a nickel. He's going to blitz. And whenever you see that safety stack behind a nickel, you better expect some nickel pressure. He's going to rotate down to the curl flat defender. Bryce Young never sees him. That's a good guy. That's a great job. Beeline and undercutting that little hook route. And once again, making the play so many times we see linebackers, safety corners. Nichols get to this spot and make it a back down. Get up and celebrate. Yeah. That's cool. But turnovers are premium. Now you give this offense into great field position. It's a great big, big time playing. Bryce Young being full after how he started the season. That's something to be concerned about. But short week, maybe they can turn around. Max Force Fumble, touchdowns. Yeah. I mean, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense dominated. Todd Bull was expected to do that. AJ, you think they're going to be able to handle these types of expectations defensively rest of the year? Yeah, I think they have to. I mean, I think they're definitely athletic enough to do it. And this play really showcases that. But yeah, I mean, I think everyone kind of wrote them off. And they feel like they probably have a little chip on their shoulders. They're right back to that. That's right. They're right back. That's good deed down there in Tampa Bay, AQ. Ain't nothing you can do about that if you're Bryce Young. bulls is a start and he does
such a great job. There's always a pressure. Always a pressure right there. They come with the Mike Sam Blitz. They bail the will out. So he's always trying to do something to confuse quarterbacks and these guys just have to make the play. All right. Congrats to the Buccaneers back in the conversation. Panthers, how are they going to respond? We find out tomorrow night against the Packers also. Is there any more? He talked about confusing the quarterback. That's what the Minnesota Vikings do weekend and we got it. This is you can look at this situation. 115 left. First down. You got to got a bunch of guys up at the line and scrum. You know the field position. Cashman, very good field position. Yeah. Blitz Cashman probably, it probably first team all probably keeps playing how he's playing right here. You see four quarters across the board and watch Harris and Smith and then it's tied in as well. So the tight end, he sees the pressure. I don't think Dan Jones see. I don't know. AQ. Maybe you can help me because this tight end, he seems like it's a hot rod in the ball that's coming to him the whole time. He does that the entire time down the field, which makes it very, very easy for a quarter safety, especially if the Harris and Smith to just sit there and say, okay, this is my only threat to vertical. Let me just read the quarterback. Cashman does a good job getting underneath buzzing out. But I mean, maybe it's a miscommunication here from Dan Jones. You can't throw this ball, especially on fourth down. He does right to number 22, which made this got him his 40th interception, put him in the 40-20 club with Charles Woodson and Ron Day Barber for Harris and Smith. Yeah. And if a researcher puts that set out, obviously, a phenomenal career for Harrison Smith. You said on fourth down, you met in fourth quarter, it's first down. Yeah. Yeah. You can't be doing that on first down. Absolutely not. That cannot be happening on first down. No way. Can we lose this game on first down whenever we have opportunities? Daniel Jones is probably going to be with the coach next year. Okay. Oh yeah. Probably going to be with the coach next year. There's a $26 million something. Eat it. What? I like the guy. We've spent time around him. He's a joy to be around that softball game, but he just he's fresh off in a Kelly's. Maybe he needs a little bit more time. I'm get back. I love Daniel, Jones, what he did for us for 10 weeks. It's the turnovers. That's that was like the whole thing before he came to the Colts is like, Hey, no matter what this guy throws too many interceptions, he fumbles way too often. And then that just didn't happen last year. And it's coming back in spades this year. Well, was that it here? You want something? Yeah. If we can go to the wide behind, if you're not, there's another one from behind where it's wider. Boxy. Yeah. This one. Perfect. Okay. So if we look at this, so see the tight end. See how the tight end looks hot, right? The reason he looks hot. So if you look at this, you get the three bigs to the left of the center. Pause it right there. Yep. You get the three bigs to the left of the center. And then you get the other big just inside the tight end out there. That's your four down. So the center's going to come up four down, four down, four down. Now we got to find the DBs, right? So you look to the strength. See over top of the tight end. There's only one guy. So we don't count him because he can't come. So now Sam and Mike are the two guys over top. And then you got the will out there. So this is a Mike Sam blitz. But check this out. Look at the guy over 71. How he takes two steps to occupy. That tight end thinks it's a Mike Sam blitz. So he looks hot. But Daniel Jones recognizes that Mike then bales. So it's a confusing. It's a cat and mouse game by him taking two steps. The tight end thinks it's a hot. So he looks hot. But Daniel Jones recognizes because he's dropping into cover. And he's probably supposed to cut in front of Harrison right there. That's probably where that ball is supposed to be. Yeah. Great ball in the fight. The Vikings do this down after down after down. Now this is a situation where you have to get guys out in the route. If you're the offense. But so many times you're watching Vikings defensive tape. And the offense is keeping them running back in the tight end. So you get three man routes every time. And then you got guys like Cashman, you know, ducking in, getting out and they're red men up right up the middle of field. Daniel Jones. He can't step up and try to scramble like he pause right at the top of the drop. There's no way for him to step up. The pocket is kind of collapsed. And once again, it's first down. Just throw it away. But if you're looking here at his POV, nobody's open. You know, Josh down. I was just covered. Mattelis is under him. You got to safely over the top. Here's Smith is a great position over the top of the tight end. You got Cashman buzzing out underneath. That's the also that's the other thing the Vikings do. Who mentioned it? Aaron Rodgers talking to his defense. Hey, don't just get out and cover grass. Like these fuckers, they get out and they're covering route concepts. They're pattern matching everything. So they're looking guys up. So Cashman, he knows where he's going. Mattelis, he knows where he's going. So it's tough for a quarterback and a receiver tight end right here to try to figure this shit out on the fly. He's supposed to get in front of Harrison though, right? That's what the quarterback is saying. Hey, manning's watching this. He's saying you got to get in front of that guy there. In quarters and quarters coverage, you're going to get over a top of that 51. And then you're going to right cross his face. So basically crosses face is still going to be a seam up. But you're going to cross his face. If his a post safety, you're going to run outside of him. So yeah, he should cross his face and get inside of number 22. But instead, he's, you know, still waiting for the hot route. Yeah, he's baiting out. He's baiting out. He takes himself out of that almost. And then all of a sudden, Daniel thinks he's still running that he's supposed to cut in front of him. So if he cuts in front of him, Daniel Jones, I'm going to start his perfect ball here. Okay. He runs full speed. Yeah. That's the key. If he runs his actual route, he's got to break it hot immediately. That's the thing because technically he wasn't hot with that mic bailing out of there. So he just runs his route and Daniel thinks, Hey, I'm throwing to a spot because he's probably supposed to run a post. Yeah. But he calls like he's as soon as so Daniel peaks left first. He sees 44 drop out. And then by the time he gets back to 86, Daniel knows he's not running full speed. He's not running like nobody. He doesn't run like that. He's cross over running. He's waiting for the ball. So you just got to come off of that. I mean, tuck it. Try to run through the way it's first down. You're a veteran quarterback. So these are the things that you can super frustrated with. You know, and these are the things you talk about in meetings. But you had a chance to beat and underfeed a football team on the road. Instead, you lose this game. Now you're fired. Like it's crazy. How shit happens in the NFL. But once you get you have to have players that make you pay for these mistakes. And that's what here's the Smith is going to do. Now scoring 16 points against his Vikings defense is going to be tough. Like if their offense can get them to 17 each week. If they can get them to 20, I mean, the Vikings still have it in possible to beat. We had it right there. We're right back in the scene. We're going to win Super Bowl yet. It can still happen this weekend. No, I can't miss the field goal earlier too. So now you're on a 10 year year. You've already paid your quarterback. That's. Hey, that's good. Keep doing this. I got faith in the in the team. I don't know right person. The dog is the guy. All right, AQ. We were practicing for this hour. The time that comes. Okay, the time has come. Can we get him a handheld so he can. You only need one hand here, right? For the dunk toss. All right. Can you pick up the handheld? Yeah, you need to grab the mic. That's over there. It's over there. Hello. Oh, that works really well nailed it. Well, the microphone did work. Yes. I think you did nail that. Well, whoever wired the microphone to work would be the one that's saying they nailed it. But for you now, you will attempt to throw these little miniature rubber donkeys and have them land on their feet or on their head on that mat there. If you were competing against somebody, I believe you'd be trying to get it closer to the center point. But all we're looking for you to do is just land one of them on there. You have two opportunities to win 30 people $500. Thank you. I know you want to hear from people before you do this daunting task of Donk. AJ has something to tell you before you take this on. I do. I was checking out the official rules for this game. If you win that thing that sucker upside down completely, I guess that's a game winner like Walker Homer. So go for that. Well, double it actually. We'll make 60 winners of $500 if you land it on the walkoff upside down. But it has to land on fully on that thing. If you land it upside down or on all four feet and it's only half on, we'll still win. 30 people will still win $500. If you get a full upside down land on that mat, all points of contact are on the mat. 60 people will win $500. All you got to do is just make one of them. Hey, Q, I see your grabbing a snoss. Did you do any research on this or did? No, I just kind of played with it. I didn't like the ears because the ears are offset. And the note, I don't think the tail's big enough. So I think the nose is the one. Okay. So you're going to go with a little meteor grip, you know? Yeah, the snoss of the dog in your palm. A con man has something to tell you here before you attempt to flip the dog. Con loves dunking around. I love dunk, but AQ, you got dunk written all over your face. It feels like that you know how to handle a dunk. You already grabbed the meaty part of it. So it feels like you kind of feel you do. And in your soul, I know that you can flip that dog perfectly. All right. Here we go. Ty Schmidt. Do you think he has any chance here? I do. I think this is you had him do this because we kind of knew like a not going to make a football on the basket. I hope we can't just keep doing that and doing that and doing that and doing that and doing that and having no results. So let's kind of bring this gimmick bullshit out. And there's I'd say he's got about a 50% chance. Okay, I like that. I don't know if Daniel Alovsky knows what that means. Darious J Butler is thinking of a motivational speech for the second one. If it is needed, we will be relying upon you to get a double AQ go ahead and give your first dunk attempt pal. All right. Here we go. 30 people to win $500. All he's got to do is land this thing either on four legs or in the complete upside. Oh, oh, good. There's a short and a good dunk. Good dunk. The backspin might have ended up hurting him a little bit as that thing rolled from all fours down to its side. You know what they say about horses on its sides. Not good. Same with this dunk. That's worth zero. D but now has a message of motivation for you AQ Shipley's you attempt to win 30 people or 60 people $500. Let's think and just grab that ass and toss it. You know what to do. All right. Here we go. Toss that ass. Let me see what you get. You throw that down. 30 people could win. Yeah, got. You get a Q good dunk that will handle it. 30 people $500. All you do is repost this one of the year. Let's say something nice to somebody. Let's go. We should do a lot more of that and put the easiest way to pay you and 30 people will be randomly selected to win $500. Great work today AQ. Oh, yeah. That was fun.
- Oh, no way. I needed that. - Great work point. - I got a dunk and I can't outlaw it. You know, 30 people win five. I appreciate what you did there. - I went a little further. That was 'cause of time. You can't leave it short. I heard that, I went a little further. - I think they would say good trajectory on the dunk as well to give it an opportunity to really land the way it did. 30 people win $500 because of you. D-bunch, great work this week. - You're too early to do that, bud. - Good situation on report, great good D. Great work all week. Safe travel as we appreciate you. - AJ, you're the man, boys in the back, great work. Graphic design boys, let's go to the construction workers outside. We appreciate what you guys are doing for us. - Thank you. - Please don't cut our internet or our power. It's a dangerous game. We're playing every single day out here as they are working their asses off out there, which we certainly appreciate to get this round about done. But this morning we had one of our fibers cut. The other one was potentially getting eyeballed. We appreciate the way the construction workers have Dodge Dive and Dodge their way through it to kind of hopefully not take out all power and internet this entire community. We appreciate them. We genuinely appreciate them and we're thankful for it all. Lucky to do this, there was a lot of chatter about last year Tennessee show about game day after what happened with Charlie Kirk. I think there's been a lot of reporting. I have not said anything to anybody about that. That was a crazy time for us all to be alive. I think there's a lot of things being talked about that I'll kind of step on top of each other. Just know that I'm very, very thankful I get to do this for a living. I'm very lucky that I get to do this for a living. But I do get a lot of things said to me that I think are wild. And I guess it just comes with the territory now. I have to learn to be better with that even if it is threatening my life or raping my children or anything like that. This is just the life that I get to live. So I'm very, very thankful. I'm very, very lucky. And I wouldn't be able to do it all if it wasn't for you. Thank you for being the greatest people of all time. We will continue to try to make sports a celebration. We'll continue to try to unify. And we will continue to celebrate the shit out the greatest thing that the world has ever created sports. Be your friend, tell your friends something. Nice in my change of life. We're interesting together. Team on me. Team on three. One, two, three, team. Bye-bye.

Summary:

Forest Buckner is returning to a team with Super Bowl aspirations and a familiar culture he knows well. The Colts value his contributions as a leader and player, and the trade provides them with draft picks while fulfilling a major roster realignment.
Quentin Nelson is a top offensive lineman with elite reputation and strong peer recognition. The trade reflects a high-value market for his skills, and the Seahawks are expected to benefit greatly from his presence in their run game.
The trade suggests the Colts are actively reducing their investment in long-term roster stability, possibly signaling a short-term rebuild strategy rather than a sustainable future-focused plan.
While the trades may provide immediate draft capital, the loss of key players raises concerns about team continuity and long-term success, especially without a clear plan to rebuild around Jonathan Taylor.
Yes, multiple sources confirm that Jonathan Taylor is not being moved and is seen as a core asset, with the team considering building around him as a foundation for future success.
