The sports analysis highlights a dynamic and intense period in both NFL and MLB, with major storylines emerging across multiple fronts. The Georgia-Alabama SEC showdown faces potential disruption from weather, while the Los Angeles Dodgers' dominance—driven by Shohei Otani and Yu Darvish—has intensified scrutiny over MLB’s lack of a salary cap. The absence of financial safeguards has led to concerns about unfair advantages, with teams like the Guardians and Brewers struggling financially, raising questions about long-term league stability. In the NFL, Lane Johnson's unexpected retirement underscores the physical and mental toll of offensive line play, with analysts emphasizing mental health, aging, and competitive pressure as key factors. The Raiders’ explosive run game, fueled by Kenneth Walker and Patrick Mahomes, has shifted defensive strategies, while controversial onside kick rules and officiating decisions add complexity. The broadcast team celebrates the emotional depth and evolving narratives of the games, from player decisions to team dynamics. Ultimately, both leagues face pressing questions about sustainability: MLB’s potential CBA negotiations and the NFL’s need for structural reform, including salary caps and player protections, are critical for future health. With high-level action, emotional stakes, and growing fan engagement, the season is not only competitive but also a pivotal moment in professional sports’ evolution.

- Hello beautiful people, and welcome to our Humber the Vote. - The draft cadence Thunderdon, on this walk Wednesday, October 7th, 2020, since this sports program begins now. (upbeat music) - Football. - Kicked off another week last night as Troy had it. - Yeah. - Phenomenal Tuesday. - Wow. - Phenomenal Tuesday, but tomorrow obviously Thursday night football kicks off another week of NFL action and obviously college football action that is gonna see us potentially down there in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. There is some weather appearing on the map and on the Doppler that could potentially be going through there for the Georgia Alabama game. Will that throw an entire wrench into the entire SEC as we try to find out who are the young kings of the SEC in this fresh season in Georgia? Wasn't really played anybody. Alabama has had to play a couple different good teams. Had had a couple bad quarters, couple great quarters. Have they been able to get through the lumps of having to face tougher competition already? Is that a massive benefit as they take on a George Bulldog team that was doing all one on one during commercial breaks of games 'cause they didn't think their opponent was giving them enough of a challenge. Interesting dynamic, especially when you throw on the weather and the fact that the Sabin doc is being released tomorrow. Congrats to Coach Sabin on being an absolute legend greatest of all time and his doc kind of getting showcase to the world tomorrow, one episode at a time. I don't think we ever nailed that one down. That's the toxic table at Boss Conor and Attachment. It's a great time to be a part of sports MLB also popping off last night, another phenomenal night of action as we're seeing. Do the Los Angeles Dodgers have the greatest, potentially, Japanese header in the history of MLB right now? Certainly. And then do they have the greatest Japanese pitcher in the history of MLB right now in Yamamoto who slices and dices in his record as only growing to become that of like a fairytale type pitching operation good time? Yeah, well on their way and this is kind of why everyone is so scared of the Dodgers because A, he's unbelievable and it's not just him, you know, he is the ace of the staff but they have three more aces behind him. But everyone remembers last year, he pitched, you know, what was it? Game six in the Dodgers Blue Jays World Series and absolutely shut down the Blue Jays and then on no days rest came back and threw 2.2 innings of scoreless ball. He is what he does. He just carves everybody up. It doesn't matter if you've faced him before and anytime you have a starting pitcher who really doesn't need any run support or one run and it feels like you're gonna win, that's why everyone is so scared of the Dodgers and then that's not even accounting what they can do offensively because everyone talks about Shohei but they don't talk about Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betz or Kike Hernandez who not a lot of people have heard of but has 19 career postseason home runs and it's tied with guys like Aaron Judge and David Ortiz, so that series is great and then the Padres, they extend against the Brewers. So again, we have four baseball games today and that could be the last time we'll have four baseball games in a day for who knows how long. So it's kind of like-- - Oh, actually. - Yeah, legit. So it's like these games are unbelievable. So if you are gonna watch baseball today like really soak it in because who knows this could be the last time we get four very high level games in one day for maybe the next year plus. So yeah, the MLB playoffs are killing it right now. - CBA negotiations staring us all right in the face as maybe new coming baseball fans or lifelong baseball fans. We've seen the song and dance in the past. There's a, you know what? I'm not gonna give it a, I'm gonna say there's a 50% chance. - Okay. - I was gonna go to 100% chance. - Sure. - Just because it feels like that is the avenue in which this particular negotiation is happening between the players and MLB as a whole with the state of the game, what's going on with the Dodgers? Well, what's going on with the Mets? What about how everybody in ratings are up for baseball? So do we need massive change right now? Well, every other league that is operating in the current moment because we've kind of learned what a professional league needs has a salary cap and a floor. That kind of is what makes it a healthy league and that can kind of determine where they're headed. Yeah, but we haven't had that. Never had that and look where our sport is right now. And there's teams that have no money. The Guardians. - Bunch of teams. - Yeah, the Raids, the Brewers. There's the way things are going right now, white socks. The way things are going right now, it's still good. So both sides have very valid arguments on why they feel the way they feel. And it feels like both sides are gonna wanna win this. The players aren't gonna be the generation in their eyes. Don't wanna be the generation that gave up the no salary cap for MLB because this has been something that every other league, every other players have looked at MLB and said, "Damn, these guys are doing it over here." Bobby Benina is still getting paid. - Yeah. - That's brilliant. Long-term investment plan if we're able to do that with the NFL or not. There's a bunch of different rules on when you can do things. The deferred payments that have, I just mentioned with Bobby Benina, had become a weapon for the Los Angeles Dodgers to build a potential super team. And there's obviously owners around MLB that would never be able to do that or never would do that. So is there an unfair advantage that's happening? - Rod and Wolf. - And who's money is that? Is that money even exists? Or is that money-- - That's not yours. - Who's money is actually in there? They're selling off a lot of assets. Are those assets gonna get sold off too in the entire process? Can they even exist where they're at? So do you need massive change if there isn't federal fraud happening at a level? So there's just, there's so many. - Yeah. - I mean, it's just this. So to your point, let's enjoy this. - Crank it in, soak it up. - Let's enjoy this. It's especially enjoyed. Moonshot Ataka is gonna be playing at four o'clock on TBS. Shout out to Japan. - Big time. - Yeah. - Hey. Shout out to Moonshot Ataka is electrifying. - Oh yeah. - And with the lads learning English. Not-- - Kind of. - Yeah, like-- - Not right now, but trying is best to buy in. Then he got Yamamoto and Shohei Otani. I mean, the Japanese culture in baseball right now is absolutely crushing it. Guardians at White Socks, Dodgers at Braves, Reyes at Yankees, Brewer's at Padres. We can't wait to continue to dial in as we wait for NFL Week 5 Eve on this glorious day. Nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butters. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - D-Butts, big storyline coming out of last night. Lane Johnson Retires. - Uh-huh. - And I guess I should bring in 13-year NFL vet, Super Bowl Champion, Offensive Lime and AQ Shipley. - AQ, AQ. - Okay, we'll go in the trenches to see which offensive line is ranked in the top five after coming out of week four. I doubt it'll be the Eagles, but maybe it will be, this will be the first time somebody retired from in the trenches, top five offensive line in the middle of this season. AQ Shipley, I'll ask you first. The offensive line position is one where it's very combative. There is a lot of fist fighting. There's a lot of probably, in between the year's conversation that happened. Whenever you get alphard, punked, punch in the face, lose a fight, there's a potential moment of like, oh, I'm kind of soft. There you have to get back up. And by the way, there's another fight coming. Another fight coming. I think that is a part of an offensive lineman's kind of mentality. It has to be because you're literally in 50 fist fights on national television to try to win billions of dollars for a team and for your teammates and for your city and everything like that. A lot of pressure on a position, it doesn't get a lot of spotlight, but usually there is some negativity that comes from being an offensive lineman. I think you kind of live in that world, the trenches world as much as possible. Lane Johnson basically came out and said like, for me, my mental health and my family, right now I've best time for me to walk away. There's been so many different reactions to this, from so many different people. From your perspective, as Lane Johnson was gonna be Canton Bant, Hall of Famer. He's two times Super Bowl Champion. He is this year playing well by everybody that rates offensive lineman. How do you kind of feel about this situation? And what do you think the thoughts are in that offensive lineman that's losing a grade of all time in the middle of the season? Obviously they know him a lot better than we do. We haven't talked to him, we haven't seen it. But this is a very dynamic situation that has not really been seen too often. Vante Davis, friend of ours, former teammate of ours. He retired notoriously at half time of a game. And he said, this a young man's game, man. I ain't doing it. And at that corner, you're kind of out on an island out there. And that can certainly have a very similar to tackle as well. Can you just kind of tell me your thoughts outside looking in as former offense lineman and when you retired, everything that kind of went through your mind? Yeah, it's tough. I mean, whenever you think about Lane Johnson, first of all, he might go down as the best right tackle to ever play the game. Let's be very clear about that. And this is gonna be a vastly different Eagles offense of line without him. But whenever you talk about the position and it's very similar just so happened, you got a corner in here and you got an offensive lineman in here. It is two of the positions where you have to have the quickest memory of all time because you're gonna get beat. The guys on the other side, the defensive ends, they're very good. They're paid a lot of money. They're gonna beat you. You just want to try and win more than you get got, right? And that's the biggest thing when it comes to it. Now, as you get older and you're used to seeing who you are, Lane Johnson, one of the greatest of all time, lived in his prime for a bunch of years. Now the body starts to break down. Maybe it can't do what it used to do at times, right? Now you start to see that on film and it starts to kind of creep into your head. I don't know if that's what went into it. He's obviously had some mental health stuff, you know, over the last couple of years that he's batted a little bit. But, you know, whenever it comes to him, at the end of the day, you got to do it's best for you. Yeah, I agree. And it's the NFL, so, you know, people get hurt. You have to put in another tackle. And there's a lot of people out of like, "Finish with your team here." It's like, well, he might be thinking the best thing for the team is for him to not be out there. I mean, if that is what he's thinking at that exact time, I don't think the team would like him to be out there. Indeed, but I mentioned him friend of ours, former team of ours, Rest in Peace, absolute legend. Vante, whenever he retired at halftime, I think the way he was thinking, if you listen to him tell the story, it's like, I am, the team is going to lose because I'm out there and I'm going to be on a spotlight. I'm about to get cooked out there. That kind of one-in-one. into his mind, I think, and in his eyes, he wasn't gonna be able to get it over that. That's a massive decision for people to move on, but also, whenever you start to feel that, I think it is, might be time to kind of walk away. - Yeah, it's a tough time. - And I'm not once again, we don't know if this is what Lane is thinking. - Yeah, we don't know, you saw the statement, you saw what he put out, you never know what, everything or what guys are dealing with. I remember calling Vante, after seeing it, because obviously it was very alarming, like half-time, it's something that never happened, so I called him, and after the game, in typical Vante fashion, he was in great spirits, like, "Hey, man, it was time, when it's time, it's time." Like, "Bro, I don't know if that was the time." Like, "Yeah, I'm good, I'm great." But it was just, you know, whenever you're not all in, all in, like fully all in, like we watch the games, we watch games, we see the injuries, we see the good, the bad, and you can't be out there half-stepping. That's the best way to set at any position, but especially the positions we're talking about, where you get beat once or twice, and that almost changed your legacy as a tackle or a corner. So this guy sucks, cut on me, he ruined the season, ruined the game for us. Andrew Luck, Andrew Luck, another one of our former teammates who dealt with injuries and then retired at a time, which wasn't, you know, it was very unique. It was like pre-season then, you know, going to the seizure, coming off one of your best seasons, we booked this team around, we paid you this money, all these different things, but like you said, you have to do as best for you as a teammate, you know, you're playing this team sport for your whole life. You, I'm sure Lane thought about it, not wanting to let his teammates down, not wanting to let his quarterback, his coach, you know, "God, you want championships down." All this stuff, but he made a decision, he, I mean, he served the game well, he left the game better and he found that Eagles organization, he talked about all those seasons, two times football champ, great teammate, great guy for NFL, so look at him in his future. - Yeah, and not just his future, his past showed up for him as well. Coach Stoutland, obviously everybody talks about as the offensive line coach for the Eagles. His tweet immediately upon hearing it was it extremely rare to come across a player like Lane Johnson, extremely rare. He coached for how long? How long Jeff Stoutland coaching you? - I mean, I think since like 2012, and then before that, he was Michigan State Alabama, he's been everywhere. - Yeah, everywhere, great, greatest? - Yeah, I mean, he can go down as that, yeah, I mean, I think, I think when you look at what he's done in the body of work that he had and the players that he had, I mean, he can go down as an escaradir cue too. - Yeah, up there, up there. - Up there, pantheon, yeah. - Yeah, he's in the conversation. - Different schemes to different eras, so how you judge that particular position is gonna be difficult as well. But in the Mount Rushmore-ish of offensive line coaches. - That's right. - Okay, so his words are obviously very heavy, in the spring of 2013, I found myself on a field in East Texas, working out a young Lane Johnson. I believe he was 22 years old. All these years later, to say, I am proud of the career you built and the man you become would be an understatement. All the fame career. It's been a privilege and honor to have coached you. I am so proud of you, Lane. We all are, buddy. Congrats on helping career. - Oh, yeah, Lane. - Definitely sucks for the Eagles that they lose Lane Johnson, but I guess it was inevitable at some point. We'll talk to Jason Kelsey in about an hour or so. I believe he's still overseas. Obviously, teammate of Lane and friend of Lane Johnson. Okay, so joining us now as a man who probably has, I think a great take on this, 'cause he was kind of lingering still for a while after he retired, remember? Staying in shape, if the perfect opportunity comes. - That's right. - It's hard to hang it up. The decision that Lane just made is a very difficult, especially if you're a goat, especially if you're still playing well, which by all accounts, Lane was still playing well. - Oh, yeah. - I don't know how he was feeling about it or why he was potentially thinking he wasn't or what he saw to your point on film, where he's like, I don't know, if that is what he's thinking. - But even if it's completely off the field, we don't know, we'll try to learn more. - Even a 70% Lane Johnson's atop 10 tack on this league period. Even if he dropped even a just a step, he still would have been very good. - Joining us now as a man that could probably still be atop 10, the end in the league. He's a bull ring of honor, remember, down in Houston Texans organization. Are they all right? - No, no. - No, no. Poor back's good, though. Social media team might stink, too, now, I mean, she-- - Oh my God, with that Nuggie in his hand. - He just celebrated 25 years. - You can't do that Nuggie in the hand like that when everybody's saying he's throwing tasty, you know? - They came back with Nuggie in what they said. - He said him, but then it's after it lost, so now it's like, damn. - Damn, he's with him to lose, like what he is. - Ain't a tough spot right now. - I need JJ Pat. - Ladies and gentlemen, JJ Ward. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Stop laying Johnson. Let's talk laying Johnson. Let's get this conversation back on the rails here. - Sorry, man. - Let's get this conversation back on the rails. - Sorry, just to get a proper intro of you, I need people to know that you're a part of the bull ring of honor, don't you say? And they don't just-- - No, just a phenomenal career for Lane. It has been a great career. - What's his tweet about before we get that at? Why do we got him with a Nuggie? - I got no clue, that's, that is just not a good idea. - But, lot of Numbies. - They're good photo shots. - I mean, playing good ball. - I know, I know. - We'll get back to that later. We'll get back to that later. Just had to kind of talk about the Houston relationship who the Houston Texas have been very nice to us as well. And I have massive respect for them. I do worry, though, that Owen Fourteams don't make it to the place, which I'm thankful that the cold time-- - They have? - They have one time before, and they might twice. They might, we don't know, but it could. - We don't know. - I don't know, but it could, Wendy, why would they do that? - They're Owen Fourte, I don't know. Coach should be three in one. We should have beat the chiefs. And then we obviously get hot. And Jacksonville's crazy right now. But Houston has the team we think to be great. Let's get back to Lane Johnson speaking of great. - Good. - And you retired. You knew was your last year whenever you're going into it. How difficult of a decision was it for you? And then hearing about Lane, your first thoughts about him stepping away from the game? - My first thoughts were that there is obviously a very serious reason behind this. I mean, for the competitor that he is, and for who he is, what he's meant to that organization, that team, and how thoughtful that he is with everything, I would be very quick to be judging anything. And I've seen some people saying some things and speculating some things and criticizing. I would just, I would be very careful. For somebody who has played at this level, for this long, and who has done it in the way that he has, I would be very careful coming at him and saying this is selfish or he's quitting on his team or anything, it certainly seems like the type of situation where if you haven't spoken to him and understand the real true reasons behind it, I would couch my criticisms. Now in terms of Lane, as a player, that absolutely has an argument for best right tackle of all time. The guy's unbelievable, phenomenal player, incredible player, somehow still almost underrated. And I know that he uses that as a personal chip on his shoulder, but he's incredible. There's a funny story, somebody sent me yesterday that I hadn't seen before. Amongst all this stuff is from this guy, Shiel Kapadia, I think he's a Philly writer. And it's a story from 2018, and it's from the day after Lane played against us in the Texans. And he said, the pro bowl votes came out the last week and I wasn't a pro bowler. So I drove to the facility at 2.30 AM, slept there, and then worked out and went to practice. And I was gonna make a point that week against JJ Watts and not let anything happen. And all I had to say about that is, can we just release him a week later? Why did I have to be that week? - Yeah, I understand, yeah, the week of the full. - That's not fun. - Yeah, did he cook through, he cooked through, yeah, pretty good. - It played very well, he was getting to the spot. He wasn't giving up a single bowl rush. He had one on one, he didn't want any chip help, no tight end help. I wasn't having my best day by any standards, and he wasn't helping me. I can tell you that. So he made his point, he made his point. I would have given him my pro bowl before the game, if that would have made him go a little easier. - Yeah, but you didn't, you know, 'cause you kept it and wanted to win the MVP of the pro bowl. So you could get that truck. - You truck. - Yeah, right, new truck. - That's what I mean, yeah. I needed that. I needed that. - One of people was like, great truck. We still have the game. - What's that? - We still have the pro bowl game that they played like that. - Yeah, exactly. JJ was trying to save the pro bowl. And Lane Johnson sounded like he wanted to as well. Sounds like he wanted to be in there, because obviously he respected the grades of the game, and what the pro bowl was, what the pro bowl is. Everybody's talking about how great he is though. Everybody. He was wet, number four overall pick. So coming in, you gotta be great. And then the live up to the height in Philadelphia, I appreciate what he's done. And to your point, we have no idea what it is. We, Vante, we only know Vante, whenever he retired at halftime, and his conversation was like, yeah, right. That second half, I was gonna get absolutely crushed. And that is just not what I wanna do. And to Debut just said it, he talks to him half of the game. Vante was completely okay with it too. - Yeah, yeah. - This is how it had to be, man. This is just how it is. And I've been thinking about it for a bit. I know Lane had been thinking about it anytime you get towards the end of your career and you're a little bit older, especially in those fist fighting positions. There's always a conversation is, do I wanna sign up for this again? Do I wanna sign up for this again? Is that something? - And say a cues point. Yeah, say a cues point, like where he's saying, a 70% Lane Johnson is better than 100% of everybody else. I do not disagree at all. But I think you also have to look inside Lane's head and know how maniacal you are as a competitor and know how crazy you are about your own play. And you know what at this level, when you have one little thing that doesn't feel like you're playing at your best. And when you know what it feels like to be the greatest in the entire world at what you do, when you slip down to just slightly less than that standard, even if it's still above everybody else. In your head, it's like, you just slipped a mile and everybody's passing you. But sometimes you just get inside your own head because of the standard you hold yourself to and you don't even realize you're still playing better than everybody else. - And also to follow, 'cause I've seen others do it, the amount of work it takes for you to be that person. So when you start to see it slip, it's like, do I wanna sign up for everything that it's gonna take for me to be that person still at this stage. All those conversations start happening for everybody, especially at the offensive line position, hell of a career lane. Proud of you, buddy. Proud of you, Lane. Okay, let's talk about the game that you had this past weekend, Chiefs Raiders. Chiefs appear to be best team in ball game and with K9 at running back in the way they utilize him. I don't, that travels, obviously, clearly. But you can win in playoffs like this, you can win in Super Bowl like this. Defense has enough, do we think defense has enough across the board to get them back? Are the Chiefs all the way back after watching them play up close in person and learn about them? - I mean, it was a f***ing game, first of all. Raiders absolutely held there and went right down to the wire, pretty crazy ending, obviously. But when you look at the Chiefs and you look at the addition of Kalker like it's incredible. And you talk to the players and the coaches all week and what he's done open up the offense to open up the play action game to allow Travis Kelsey some more one-on-ones. Pat talked about seeing defenses that he hasn't seen in years because last year he was practicing his play fakes to try and get linebackers to bite on the run fake so he could get play action over the top. And he was like, even with the best play fakes ever, they weren't biting because we just didn't have the run game so they didn't have to respect it. Now these guys are biting on the run fakes because they know they have to stop Kalker which they still can't do. The broke tackles is absurd. How many tackles he's breaking. And then the linebackers are sucking up. So you've got patches dropping dimes over the top, behind him the play action. They're running all sorts of screens left and right. They have a lot of weapons on that offense. It's very impressive. - The Thornton injury, you. Yeah, that is brutal. We don't know the diagnosis. - Career day too, who's having a career day. - Huge, huge day for him, back to Kenneth Walker. That's where Travis Kelsey come over here on your side. And they're potentially adding a cheetah to that offense who I don't know how that's all going to go with new information, there's a lot coming out in that whole world. But that offense with Andy Reed, always better whenever Patrick Mahomes has the capability to run the rock because everything, there's a ball that they posted last night on social that I sent in. He's fading backwards and literally just flip of the wrist. - Did you follow through? No follow through, just incredible. - Guy, always has been, always will be, he can be showcased a little bit more whenever they have a run game, right? We should be expecting Showtime Mahomes all the way back for the rest of season, JJ. - I mean, you would imagine he's only going to continue to get stronger, obviously still coming off of the injury and still building up that part of his game and hasn't had to run a ton, hasn't had to use his Mahomes magic and legs and everything. So, you would imagine that whenever those situations do arise that it's required, that he's only going to continue to get stronger there. Yeah, they're a very, very good football team, but I think on the flip side, you also have to give a ton of credit to the Raiders. People were wondering, you know, three, you know, is it real, is it not? This is the first, you know, true test, the teams they'd faced up until that point were one and eight. So, three and over, three and all, it was a battle. It was a really, really, really good battle all the way to the end, a lot of fun. They had the third down or that they had the three points that they took off the board with the field goal that they decided to go for it. So, it was a great football game, man. I thought you did a great job calling it, living in the moment with you is fun. Yeah. I think a lot of people are getting introduced to you having actual energy and emotion towards the sport in the game. I think you're finding your groove in there. I really enjoy listening to you call a game, not only because you're a friend, but because I like the way you go about your business. You're obviously, resume is ridiculous, the way you've played throughout the history is respectful by everybody that's ever been on the field. So, obviously, coaches and players are going to give you stuff. But then your perspective, great. And you guys are having, like, record-setting here. Congratulations. Go, Jay. Nice to meet you. Have a lot of fun. Have a lot of fun. I mean, to have the most watched ever game in week four is really cool to have the most watched game of the season. So far, it's really cool. It's been great, very proud to be part of the CBS squad. Having some fun with Jim and Tracy. And everybody, man, it's, when you get games like this, I mean, Rio was crazy. This week was crazy. It was a blast, man. And if you're a football fan, like I am, you get to sit on the 50-yard line every single week and have the best seat in the house for these games. It's awesome. Yeah, you're doing a great job. And you understand that the sport in the game is the show. I'm here to set the tone for everybody that's watching alongside. You and Nancy, I can't wait to see you guys grow together. I'm excited for that. Now, you get conversations with people that we don't because you are a part of the A-booth. That's right. Yes. Conman has a question for you. Yeah, James, to a past point, you reacting to Kubiak at halftime saying like, hey, we're going to go win this game in the second half was sweet. What was he like in the entire kind of pregame interviews leading up to the game? Is this a guy that you think is going to be around for a long, long time? He kind of seems like he has that nice guy persona, but then has the fiery Ben Johnson on that son of a bitch type persona as well with his team. Should we all be buying stock in the Raiders now and Kubiak behind the scenes, is he just a mad scientist genius? So here's, it was great. That moment was great. And what I said afterwards is like that being, I think, a slip of the real personality. I think this is what he is. And it's really cool. His dad was kind of a similar way, but he is very straightforward to the point not going to give you much at all, whether it's in our production meetings or on his interviews or his press conferences or anything. It's going to be very reserved to keep everything close to the vest, but I do believe that when he is in the locker room or he is on the practice field with his guys and with his group and you're inside that little circle of trust, I do believe there is that personality that you saw at the end of the halftime interview where we're going to go win this game. And it's not an arrogance or a cockiness reason. It's because of the belief in what he knows and his preparedness. And I really do believe that that is his strength is his offensive game planning and you see the way that he's using bowers now in a similar way that they use JSN and Seattle and his ability to break down defense is that first touchdown to the number three tight end that hasn't caught a touchdown in a couple of years. He swings him out the back or out the front side of a run and gets him wide open in the corner. Like, he has some really good stuff and I think the players buy into it. And I do think that there's that that underlying confidence that he doesn't really let out it often. But he lets he lets his guys see it. They have a good roster. Number one overall pick hasn't had to play yet because Kirk cousins been doing his thing. Yeah. Feels like they're well on their way to put whatever this next Raiders iteration is going to be. Happy Max Crosby's getting to enjoy. Yeah. Good for him. I'm happy he's getting to join. Yeah. Mad Maxman going crazy man over there for the Raiders since the beginning. He said, I don't know if you got to hear this from there. He said to sound that some quarterbacks make whenever you tackle him is a little different than others. Saw that. I don't know if you saw that or not. I didn't see it, but I mean, I know that I've experienced it. Yeah. Okay, let's get into that a little bit. So is there been some reaction? Yeah, is there some reactions that are like a tennis, you know, or is there some people grit and bear it because I know Andrew Luxby thing was like, hey, thank you man. Good hit. That was how he wanted to respond every single time, whether or not he was hurting or not. Some of the times we find out, I think he had punctured lung one of those times and he was getting upset and great, man, really good football and then just go into it because that's literally what Andrew Luxby is. There's a variety of responses and in the moment when you realize them, what is your immediate? Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, there's all sorts of them. You can tell by the sound if he knew you were coming, if he was completely blindsided, if he was ready for the hit. If he likes it, doesn't like it. There's some guys that will laugh right afterwards or you do have the guys that say good hit. There's other guys that it was completely and entirely not even in their mind that they might be getting sacked right here and you just wiped them out out of nowhere and it's like a pure exasperation like every ounce of oxygen just left their body and it's not even sound. It's like, oh, dude, there's just nothing better. This guy is a maniac, an absolute maniac. This is the mindset though. In Lane Johnson has to take this guy on, you know, Lane Johnson has to take on another freak on the other side who's seemingly getting pretty worked up here about the sound of a blind side shot on a quarter powered by them. To empower you. Yeah. I need it. I wish I could bottle that sound, man, every day. That's it. Everybody's always like, oh, the booth is like it's got to be awesome job, like it's the best job. It's awesome. You know, right? Like you got him, it's playing. I'm like, wow Monday morning, I don't really miss it. Like put the sacks and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like every now and then you just gotta, when you are allowed to legally, completely, legally, just go out and another grown man who's right in the fair hit like to the forest, Buckner hit this weekend, for spare hit in the chest, put your shoulder into him, head off to the side, arms off, roll off the, but you completely empty a man's rib cage and lungs of all oxygen for one second. Yeah. Yeah. if you buck if you want, you know, knock if you, but yeah, no, it'll be in here so we'll get to it. Oh, no. That's his year. It was. Yeah, it was. Hit of the year. It will. And it went back. Hey, it's our Bruce Bruce went for. Hey, you're our proof. I was pretty confident that it was going to be in that buckner beer old package. I'm not going to lie. Somewhere somewhere. It's not in that package, but deserves to be him chasing the ball down the field the way that he and that entire D line runs down the field. There's another one later. I think it was Grover who chased a guy like 60 yards down the field. Those guys, I, that, I respect the hell out of that. Our team with buck and our team without buck to very different football team. Take Lane Johnson numbers. Yeah, actually very much. And he had a neck, I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah, very unlucky. Yeah. I saw him in the post game. Press conference. He had no shoes on. He was, uh, he had his sleeveless undershirt on. And he was just talking. I have a lot of respect for this man right here. I respect for this man right here. But I liked that we got a win whenever Daniel Jones did not play great football. And I liked that the forest buckner is to your point reminiscent of what he was like two, three years ago before he got like badly. He had him. Oh, yeah, he was out for a long time. And obviously he changes our entire team. We should be three and one. Should be. We took the chiefs over top. I would say that too if I was near shoes, but you're not season. So let's, uh, let's have this. This is a big one here. Two and two and two and two. Yeah. Uh-oh. Who's gonna? Who's going where? Hey, kind of talk about these big fellas, though, the forest that chased down Max Crosby. I remember listening to you on that game, Max. The thing was a long run that happened. You like damn, I know Max is pissed off because that was a play. He was off the field. I ran to a side. I know you did some rotate TJ's been rotating more of Pittsburgh. Like how tough is it to handle that? Obviously, you want to be fresher throughout the end of the season, but how tough is it to kind of manage your handle that as a as a as a defensive line? Is it whatever past Russia? How is it handling throughout the season? It's, it's really tough because you know in your heart that it's most likely the best thing for the longevity of the season, for the longevity of a career. And for giving yourself, you know, the best snaps as the fourth quarter rolls are wrong. What happens when you like in the radar game, when Max Crosby is off the field and Ken Walker rips off a 79 yard run right at the side that you're normally occupying and you would think like, you know, if I was on the football field, that would not have happened. And so then that's in your head, not only the rest of the game, but the next game when it comes time to take the break. And all you can picture in your head is, all right, if I take this play off, there's a 79 yard run possibility coming here. And that's the danger that you start getting into. And then the other side of you also has that extreme confidence that every time I'm on the field is an opportunity for a sack. And every time I'm off the field is not an opportunity for a sack. And so you truly believe that you are going to make every single play on every single play of the entire game. And that's the mine F that gets you. So I do think it's good so far. It's been really good for TJ this year. He's been able to success. Max has taken those plays off as we saw, but it's those little ones like that on Sunday where you wonder this coming game, what that percentage might be. All right, so else, I know other conversations. I know you get to have with these refs throughout the game pregame. I'm sure. And they are right square in the middle of the conversation right now. What's your thoughts on these suspensions and what we saw in the Trey McBride, what we saw in the Vikings game. What's your thoughts on that? I mean, out of pocket. Like what what's going on out here? Like, like, do you talk to the rest and you have a little back and forth and you always have some refs, you know, that are you like better than others. You have some refs that call things differently and you kind of know how they go over the years. But I mean, just to straight up, if you like yelling at it loud in the way it was so like flippant and just like that was that was wow. And like, I know I know Trey pretty well. Obviously, play with him and know him pretty well. Like, I he's a very nice kid. And so I'm so curious. Like, they'll hold build up and everything to it. And then the other one, I still don't have the full explanation of the other one because I just caught it on the plane right home where the guy knocked him over and then the ref got like just a wildly furious. Yeah, he wanted to attack. We don't know if he was, you know, because he did take the delay bump with the head. You know, he didn't talk to Joel. He didn't talk to China. I don't know if he would have expected that. If he doesn't bop his head off the ground there, is he getting back up wanting to fight a guy on a football field? I'm 100% sure, James. That's the only excuse we made up for him. I mean, I'm glad the league did something because like, you know, obviously, there's a lot of times where you protect and you tried to, but I'm glad that they did something. And hopefully it continues in the future. It's, uh, I'm hopefully get strained out rough seven. Like, like, like, it's easy for all of us to rip on the rest. They have like the shittiest job. Oh, man. Like, you got, you just, you just absolutely have to be 100% perfect all the time. And no matter how perfect it is, the other side's going to hate you. Even if it is the correct call. And even when you're perfect, you're having the worst day ever. So at that, no, I don't, I sit up in the booth and I, I say they're wrong times because they are wrong. It's, it's not fun. Not fun. That's what we sign up for. We all know how much we know how much importance they have to the game in the outcome, which is why we were so on their side to get a deal done with the NFL whenever their CBA was up this past off season. Uh, the NFL also, hey, they've taken back to find the juice. Yeah. Yep. We've taken back to find the juice. And all right. There we go. Valid argument. You were having juice. They also, uh, rescinded, uh, the Jake Ferguson, Jake Ferguson tight end shotgun situation because I was, he had done that for a gatorade in the past. That's right. So I think if you were able to push a meaningful argument that said it wasn't, you guys are saying it's beer. I didn't say. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Why are you thinking that? Why? I wasn't thinking that at all until you said it. I don't like that. The NFL booze everything that goes into some of his mouth is, is booze. You guys need to lay off. Well, you guys need to lay off the booze a little bit. I'll say hydrated. Come on. Exactly. You could really do, you could grandstand to the NFL. You guys are disgusting. Who made this decision? You need to get them checked. Their liver is probably starting to fail right now with how much I think every single liquid that goes into somebody's mouth is booze. That's crazy. Now, if a guy does bring out a beer ball, you know, like somebody else is holding it. Maybe he cracks open two of them. Poor is it. It could be anything. It could be an energy drink. Toss it up. He could just say, I'm going to toss up that. But what if the other guy is holding one up there and then he's actually, and he opens the thing, energy drink, dual trombone, IV, dual tuba, IV, just straight to the mouth to get hydrated. I mean, I guess they could actually, what if they do, do an IV? What else? That's hard. It's hard drugs. That's what we're talking about. You're kind of throwing a line. Well, I just got just getting an IV here trying to be hydrated. Someone's acting like a nurse next to him. I like that we backed off of that. Now, there are stats coming. I like that we've backed off of that. Like let people just have fun. We got blood like commercial coming in literally 15 seconds. Literally 15 seconds. There's one around the corner. So if the young kids are doing the beer trucking, have their parents and say, it's juice. You're doing that with Gatorade. You're doing that with milk. Yeah. That's like whenever they're chanting F somebody in there and I say it's truck something. I'm trying to help the parents saying like, yeah, that is what they're saying. You know, so if you just kind of let them say that that's what they're saying. Yeah, you definitely don't stoke that fire at all. Ever. Not this year. Never. Not this year. I believe I have not. Maybe a little bit down on Ole Miss, but we knew that was coming. Lane Kiffon was coming at time. That was happening all morning. But those you know, the job in Iowa, guys, also a really good job this weekend. It's really cool. Really, really good job. Really enjoyed the broadcast, everything from the hospital, all the all the stuff you guys did was really good. You played there, right? I did. I did. We didn't have they didn't have the wave when I played there. Really your old is hell. I didn't start talking after I was I had graduated. I was never seen when I was in school there. It's become a really cool tradition there and going in the hospital getting a chance to look down where it at with the people over there. The kid that was sitting next to Caitlin in the hospital whenever they did the wave. His name is Everett. Love soccer. Huge soccer fan. Messy's his favorite player. Did you watch Messy last night last time playing for Argentina? Did you think about maybe? I saw some of the clips. Yeah. So some of the clips. I thought we watched these types of events. Bubble Gumpino is currently have any chance to sign Messy. Now that he's retired, is that why JJ's not watching the greatest of all time? Last time, dawning his Argentinian stripes. Couldn't hurt JJ's boys kind of got a rally. The troops here, but I think they'll figure it out. How was Messy? Thank you, Gump. Thank you, Gump. Yeah, I got you. Thank you, Gump. That's a tough, that's a tough league. Championship's no joke. What's that? What's that was? I know. People don't say that usually. What is the championship league? That's the league below primarily. It's very physical, tough league. It's one of the top leagues in the world. I'm gonna slip it, lock it, put it in my pocket. - Hey, I appreciate you doing that for the kids out there. He's been walking the board door, I'll have you know. - Yeah, me and the board. - He's in shape right now. Treadmill, walk in the board. - Let's see, give me a shot. Give me a shot of him. Stand up, stand up. - Game day, take it. - I'm like a puppet, JJ, it's already going through his head. You can hear it, you're telling him to stand up. - He's feeling good. His patch, you know, it's week to week right now and he's feeling good. It's a good week. - Exactly, exactly. Just like with Burnley, it's a good week. They're winning right now. - They're coming back. - They're coming out of their national break. - That's a really important international break. - So they're not losing right now. - Come out strong. - Let's go Burnley. - Here we go. - Here we go, that's fair. - That's fair. - You always play well though, good squad there. - Congrats Espanier. We're in the middle of football season, American football season, the football season. And there's a simulation happening with the big guys in the run game in Goodball. AQ has a question for you, JJ. - Yeah, JJ, I'm excited to get your take on this. Obviously with a strong run game, usually correlates with strong quarterback play, right? Can you talk from a defensive perspective of how that affects the safeties and having to drop a guy in the box and how it affects the different run defenses you have to play against it? - Yeah, I mean, it affects not only bringing a safety down into the box that you have to try and defend the run or just changing up the entire structure of how you want to attack it, but it really affects the guys up front as well. We already talked earlier about how it affects the linebackers and what they have to do in respecting the run game while also trying to make sure they're protecting against play-action pass and things behind them. But up front, you have to stop and be stout against the run and play your gap first while checking to see if it's a pass or a play-action before you can rush the passer. So when you have a truly strong run game, and it's also part of the reason that everybody's going to more under center stuff too because of the balance and the unpredictability of is it a run, is it a pass? But the more that you can make the defense, not a lot of themselves to be one-dimensional and just tee off on the pass rush, the better you're going to be. Because not only are you going to have an extra quarter-second, half-second to drop back and read the defense, you're also on the back end going to have possibly a little bit of extra time or open space because of everything back there. So that's why, again, to go back to what Patrick Mahomes was saying about adding Ken Walker and what he's done is he literally said. Now teams are bringing that other safety down into the box. We're getting a little more single-high or in those instances where they've been doubling up for bracketing guys, keeping a guy over the top of Travis. Now there's a little bit less of that. There's a little more one-on-ones. It's just, it's a pure numbers and math game and it's pure bodies. And so when you bring all the bodies up close to the line, all of a sudden, now you're opening up things behind. - One of the highlights we've shown there to showcase the run game is Bigeon Robinson. And Monday it was his show yet again. Go ahead, Ty. - Yeah, JJ, to that point, through the first two weeks of the season, the Falcons looked like arguably the worst team in the NFL and since Michael Penex has come back, you could argue they look like one of the best teams in the NFL. And obviously a big part of that is Bigeon not facing as many heavy boxes and things like that. But who are, are there any teams that you're looking at right now that you guys maybe have on the schedule coming up that you think could be on that same trajectory where like right now, no one's really talking about them and it's kind of like, hey, this team might stink. But in a couple weeks, that notion might change and it might be like, okay, this team's about to make a run here. - It's a good question. It's a really good question. The first thing I thought of when you talked about first two weeks and next two weeks and it's obviously partially because I'm studying the game for this week, but the Cole's defense. The Cole's defense the first two weeks was really, really bad. And now obviously they played against a couple very good quarterbacks and they had MVPs on their schedule. But they completely turned it around in the last couple weeks and so that is a great development. They can stop turning it over a little bit on offense and they get a little bit of what they had last year at the beginning of the year, like you start to see. All right, maybe this thing starts to turn around this way. Who knows? - Jonathan Taylor, two thoughts sounds internationally this way. I mean, you're talking about the Cole's maybe being the Falcons in this particular season. Yeah, I'm thinking, yeah, that is gonna happen. That was T, everybody knows that was T. Now that they were sending fines, he can clearly state that he was drinking with not the queen recipes, the king probably. You think he can hold teacups? - No. - No, they're costos fingers? - No. - They had to customize them. - I don't know if he, fatten or eat those balls. - The king is a burnley fan. So there's that. - Has he been to a match? - Yeah, it's been a while, but he has been. He has been. - Have you, like since you've been owner? - No, absolutely. - Inviting him. We need to have a, we need to have a special burnley football showcase show from over there. - Yeah. - Yeah, and the king. - That may not be great. - Who's your biggest fan? The king. We have to have him on as a guest. - Of course you're, yeah. - There's the McAfee machine working. I see it. I see the wheels, love it. Love the wheels. - Well, try to figure out how we can get to one of these games for you. 'Cause we would like the supporter. But there's no way we can just take three days off to go watch a soccer match. There's no way that can happen in the reality of things. - Second night. - How do you, did you ever play an international game? - Hmm. I mean, I played overseas a couple of times, a couple of different tournaments. Yeah, I got to play a little bit. I'm bigger, you know? - 'Cause I'm thinking, like, 'cause it's interesting to me. It used to be when the international program started. It was an automatic by-week after the international games. Now, we had Rio last week with the Cowboys come back from Rio and it's a very short road trip, but they immediately go on the road to Houston, one. Now, the Coles this week come back from London and immediately go on a road trip, another short one, but still a road trip to Pittsburgh. I'm curious what your thoughts are on. That handling it and everything. - I think Chuck chose not to take the buy after we came back from London. - How was that game? - Yeah, do we? - I don't remember. 'Cause it was a decision. I think what teams are asked, would you like to take the buy after your international game? It might be week four though. It might be, I think it's a little different. I don't know if they let them even make a decision now on whether they get a buy, 'cause it's just so normal. Like, hey, yeah, you got to play. That's how this goes. - I mean, after opening the season in Australia and then making teams play, you can't give them a buy there. So I think, I wonder if it's just, hey, the schedule is what the schedule is. - That was on Wednesday, Thursday? - Thursday, yeah. - That was on Thursday, so they had the 10-day trial in the backside is how the NFL can sell that. But it used to be an option, I think, for teams. And we chose, I think not to do it. I don't have a thought in this thing. - Ah, well, I mean, yeah, you're all, this guy kicked the ball, you know? - Bingo, yeah, I got back, you know? Just fine. - I actually, I have a question for you. In our game, Raiders, Gay takes the on-side kick, and I think these are the officials were confused by it. Matt Gay, he holds it in his hands and goes for the drop kick, which I do believe happened in the Tennessee College game recently. - Yes. - I'm out of spin he got on the ball was insane. Now, I think he kicked it a little bit too far, but is this something that we are gonna see moving forward? - I like the idea and no stone left unturned type situation happening here, 'cause if you're a good drop kicker, which it appears Matt Gay is and the Tennessee kid, he did it incredible as well. They chose to go to a side with it. The issue became, the ball has to be kicked from the 35-yard line. So that ball was at like the 34. You know, it was like a yard behind, 'cause you didn't wanna go past the line, I think. And everybody was like, well, it has to be ground against it, has to be grounded on the 35-yard line. That is the kickoff line. - Exactly the 35. - The ball has to be on the 35. So I think if guys are able to do it directly from the kickoff line, which guys have enough control to do that, and the ball has to be grounded. You know, this was like after safety, the ball can't be grounded, so you have to punt it. So that's like that, there's like little intricacies of the entirety of the rules. So for this, I think the ball has to be grounded at 35 to be kicked. So in theory, this has been here the whole time. And then now they're starting to do it. And guys have really good, I was watching CJ Carr with the ball when we were talking to him a game day, and just his ball was just so clean. Guys been with a ball. These punters and kickers now, they're around footballs a lot. I mean, they're very comfortable kicking very. This could be a thing. And yeah, it helps with the spin whenever you can drop that and spin with the outside of your foot. Now, the question would be laying sideways on the ground versus drop kick. What is difference? 'Cause you're hitting it at the same time. I don't feel-- - Can you show that close up again? There's like a close up one of them. Did he spin the ball back in before he dropped it? - Yeah, backwards, which, you know, 'cause then you're potentially landed on the laces, which gives you an awkward bounce. I like his amount of, he's done this a thousand times. - Yeah. - It looks, maybe 10,000 times, he's done that. I was a pretty good drop kicker. I could drop kick the ball pretty well. So I'm actually kind of pissed that this wasn't thought of at the time, 'cause back whenever you could actually do onside kicks, me coming out and getting one of those would be a nice one to have on the resume. But I like the fact that they're doing it, and there's a lot of talented guys that should be able to pull it off. But you remember, you hit on the inside here, that thing actually, banana bend for you on the back end. So you could potentially take that thing this way. Boom, get runners in front, hopefully, and that thing bends behind you. I think that would be an iteration that you could potentially-- - That would be insane. - With a lot of spin. - You think you would have the opportunity to get guys in front of it, and it still have enough to get behind them into the 10. - So I think the first couple guys are too close, but if you, there's some talented ball kickers that have nothing else to do. I mean, you kick like 20, 25 balls of practice, and then you do some drills on shit. and then you're just bored out there, just games. There's been a lot of kick in the ball on its side, so it gets up to a fuel goal, so then you can kick a fuel goal with it. All those types of things come with all this. So I think if kickers and punters start, punters mostly, kickers as well, but punters are the ones that are using hands and dropping. If they start working on this, I think we could get some good shit out of it. I think we get some good shit out. I don't know if it's gonna be successful 'cause getting an on-site kick these days is-- - I much rather feel as a former designated hands guy, to catch the ball, it's a lot of anxiety with that position. I much rather feel one of those than the ones that take a skip and that high bounce, that's the worst one. - High on this one. - Yeah, I was much more exposed. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've been in that position and that was actually my last, that's when I retired from that. - I got a question for you 'cause I haven't talked to Earths about this the other day 'cause he's been a designated hands guy forever. So what's D-butt for you? What's more stressful? - One-on-one on the outside with a number one receiver or having to get the on-site kick. - Oh, high bouncer. - On-site kick for sure, 'cause that only happens once, maybe twice in the season and everybody knows, and you gotta trust the guys to block for you and it's guys, you know it's guys over there that their only mission is to run through that guy and run through you. So yeah, if you have an opportunity for that thing, just pop over here and go out of bounds. That's best case scenario. But yeah, and you can't let your team down. So you have to go all out and whatever it takes, a tough, tough spot, I had to actually miss that 'cause Reggie was the guy here and Reggie went down with the injury, so then I was the guy that I just went to, like, coach him, be honest, this is not what's best for the team. You gotta get somebody else 'cause I had a situation before. Full explode, flip, landed on my neck, blacked out, and I was like, all right, that's it. And I never thought I was gonna have the opportunity again. Back up, Reggie ain't Reggie, never miss his game. Paul the famed boom, hurt. Oh yeah, sorry, Mitch, I can't do it. - That's awesome. - Thank you for saying that for the good of the day. - Yeah, I had to, yeah, I'm gonna say it then on Sunday. - Smart. - Thank you for saying that, honestly. - This ain't me. - No, this ain't me. - I see why you think it's me. Really good hands, great athlete. - I appreciate it, I respect that. - You're wrong. - I got some PTSD from something. I got it, and then, yeah, can't be doing that. - I don't know. - Yeah, so all I'm thinking on the other side is I need to get this guy. - Expose. - Yeah, I need him giving absolutely demolished. It's a Bashan Janakowski best high hopper, I think, in the history, 'cause they played on that baseball field. - Yeah. - So he hit that thing off the dirt with his left foot and that big Sunday hop. - Yeah, sounded like, exactly. It sounded like a shotgun was going boom. - Immediate hop. - Yeah. - Yeah, immediate hop. Bang, he could do it just in a full sprint too, 'cause he didn't take steps. He's the most interesting one of all time. Kicker of all time. Didn't take steps, just kind of casually looked at it. He had a can, attempted what, a 75-yarder when Lane Kiffin went out there for a 75-yarder and said, "Yeah, I think I can do it." Yeah, he was the best, but he could secret that thing. It looked like he was just kicking off and they were in a lot of games where, who cares? - Yeah, they're trying. - So he was the best. Mason was really good at it, Crosby. He had a great one. The people that could kinda just blend it in where he couldn't tell if it was coming or not was great. But I'm happy to hear that from a catcher that that was the worst one. 'Cause that's really the only one I could do. The one where they asked-- - Yeah, I've seen another one. - Oh, yeah, the middle dribble. Yeah, that's a fun one. That's a really fun one. Could die there, but instead of nobody's there, you just kind of get tagged and everybody's like, "Hey, good job." This is amazing. And then you go to a special team's coordinator on the sideline going, "Fuck me!" with a full face rub Thursday night in Houston, Texas. Oh, man, we just score on side to yourself, back on the field, zoom in on JJ's face, on the big jumbo tron. Whoa, what was that? The best. I love that moment. That's a good moment for me in the history of my life. Thank you for bringing me back. - Yeah, yeah, it's great. It's great, it's great. I'm like a psycho, right? I like going back on defense. So I'm like, all right, cool, like stupid. There's just a dumb, that's not how you should think. - Oh, he wants me back on the field. - Poor Stance. - That is the coach. Hey, more TV time, let's go. Let's go, boys, grab up. Put out the fire, more TV time. All right, James, we appreciate you, man. - Hey, you're the best. - I appreciate you guys. I'm looking forward to anything. Any last thoughts on your coach for this weekend? Well, I've called before, I call the game against the Steelers. - Well, I would just like you to not be clearly biased, which it feels like you might have the instinct to be, you know, like subconsciously. - I mean, it's not like it's my own brother's birthday or anything, and we're calling the Steelers game on his birthday and the program. It's going to be the most biased broadcast of all time. - I'm just going to be talking up his brother the whole time. - Perfect story. - Everybody prepare, get the tweets ready. Can you believe they let him call this game? What's wrong with this? - Okay, I'll get the draft. I will head to the drafts. I will start loading the drafts up for what you're doing out there in X. What was, did you teach TJ that? Hey, sometimes you've got to get on a headset and talk to the booth yourself. What do you think he was saying here? - Ah, okay, we know that. Now, this is not unusual. Maybe the aggressiveness of the conversation is, but like speaking to the defensive coordinator on the headset is not unusual at all. That's a very standard normal thing. They just happen to catch a quite fiery one. - Okay, we have some breaking news here. As TJ's birthday game with his brother on the call against the Indianapolis Colts, very fun. He's Houston Texans, Bull Ring of Honor. I'm sure this won't be biased at all. We have breaking news on the way out here, JJ. Eagles are sending two-time Pro Bowl center, Cam Jurgens in a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick in a 2028 second-round pick. So Lane Johnson retires. - Wow. - Now Cam Jurgens is a member of the Ravens. - Could see, some fifth-round in a second-round pick. - But yeah, the Ravens have lost three centers this year. So the Ravens definitely need a center. But this is an interesting move. I mean, you just lost two offensive linemen in one day. - We'll get to a break here. We'll digest this. That's JJ Watlaise, Jim. (clapping) - Yeah, JJ! - It's going on over there in Philadelphia. - It's all she wrote. - They're pointing on the season. - Dan O'Dee said they are in a rebuild yesterday. - Yeah, Dan O'Also guaranteed that Devonta Smith would have 1200 yards, 10 touchdowns and 75 to 85 catches. Not that I wrote it down. - He's the last time. - A lot of time. - Unless he gets traded. - Geez. - Is it full sail and eagle? - I don't know. - Sure sounds like a lot of deadcap. - We're back on the other side. Digest this new is a little bit more. We'll also be joined by Jason Kelsey. Wow, perfect time. - Yeah. - Be a friend tolle friend something nice in my change of life. We'll see you on the other side. (whooshing) (whooshing) - Nah. (upbeat music) Football! - There's the best on the field and off the field. Two massive trades have been made from the Philadelphia Eagles to their offensive line. Two household names as offensive linemen have been traded away from the city of brotherly love. Now one retired, one traded away from the city of brotherly love. And now are the Philadelphia Eagles facing a full rebuild for a season in which they have a lot of paid guys that could potentially be finding brand new homes. What does the next iteration of Nick Ciriani's Philadelphia Eagles look like? Are we gonna find out in real time? Are there more moves to be made from guys that have high contracts? And if those guys are available, what teams are gonna get very good quick from the addition of probably some super bowl champs to talk to tables here at Boston Conor and at Tyshmit. Nine year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler. It's crazy to think like this, but Lane Johnson retires. - Uh-huh. - Now Cam Jergens, who had been playing guard, I believe, for the Philadelphia Eagles, gets traded to the Ravens who need a center. Two offensive linemen, two great offensive linemen and less than 24 hours get traded away. Is this a flag of punting? Is everybody saying, are they in a full rebuild or is this just something that happened in real time and they're trying to make a move? - Absolutely not. Not a full rebuild, not waving the white flag, still way too many talented players on that team. And you have a quarterback, which I know everybody thinks just sucks, he's the worst quarterback of the league. He's paid like a franchise quarterback. He is a franchise quarterback. He got a super winning head coach. No, you're not in a full rebuild. It's a lot, look, you lose some big plan players. I think they'll turn around. They'll start winning some games and they'll be in it when it comes to that division at the end of the season. They'll find a way too many good coaches and good players on that team. - AJ Bryan, gone. - Mm-hmm. - Cam Jurgens, gone. Lane Johnson, retired. His Eagles team started to look brand new, but they're also starting to maybe open up some money. I don't know how we view the entire salary cap combo. We'll be talking to Jason Kelsey in about seven minutes or so. 12 year, 13 year, 12 year, 13 year, 12. 12 year NFL vet. Let me get away with 13 in the first hour. I appreciate you doing that. - Sound about it. - 12 year NFL vet Super Bowl champion, AQ Shipley is here. - I do. - AQ, we go in the trenches with you every single week to talk about offensive line play. Losing two offensive linemen out of a five group starting in like 24 hours. What does that do going forward? What shall we expect from them going forward? - Well, first off, let's talk Cam Jurgens, right? I remember when he first got drafted. I remember seeing his film out in Nebraska and it was a Jason Kelsey clone. I was like, oh, they're just gonna replace one guy with the same guy for the next 15 years. He has turned in a pretty solid career. He's been a really good center. Injuries happen. He gets moved to guard, not as good at guard. It's tough being a center and going to play guard. Your arms on his long, you're in space. You're not used to having space. It's a completely different world. He's been out there. This is a wild trade for me. really. is now they've lost land in Dickerson. So you got to take your next best player, Kim Jergens, then move him over to guard, right? That's the reason why they did it. But you lose Dickerson. He's been dealing with injuries the last couple of years. You lose Lane Johnson due to retirement. And now you lose this. This is three out of your five. And you thought you're going to have a great offensive line going in this year. And now you're playing with basically all backups. You got Mark Helbell now starting at one of the tackles. It's good. You got steam who got banged up early in the year on a pretty dirty play by defensive player. I'm just going to throw that out there. But anyways, you know, whenever you talk about Jergens, this guy's a really good football player. And they just let him walk. And I mean, it's a confusing move for me for Philadelphia, but Baltimore got a lot better. Yeah. So Baltimore now came Jergens back to center. I think where he's most comfortable with the Baltimore Ravens who have enough talent and have shown on the field that they can be one of the best teams in all of ball. They get better here at a position they needed, right? Well, listen, when they lost lender bomb, I think they were kind of caught with their pants down. I don't think they were expecting that one. Then he signs with the Raiders. They lose lender bomb and they're kind of scrambling. They end up trying to, you know, do it, fill that position by committee. And then they bring in Ethan poachage. He gets hurt. I mean, they've had injury after injury after injury where they're now starting. Venga, you ain't you want to, uh, the rookie out of Penn State, 15 pick overall who they want to play at guard. They've been starting him at center. Well, now he gets to move back to guard and you bring in a stud at center. He said he where did he go to school? Penn State. Don't let's keep it moving. How's that going? I mean, and we aren't. What? Really? Yeah. Oh, oh, we are. I always say. Oh, I always say that's what they're saying. A lot of people are saying that. Oh, we aren't Iowa State. I thought they were saying we aren't Penn State. Like this is not what we are. Is that what they gave up 400 yards of rushing to Northwest. It's a good football. Now they are. They were ponies. Let's talk about Northwestern stadium. I mean, that was that was special. That was special. They're invested fully. They're not paying off. Oh, we're talking about the stadium. We're talking about the football. That's right. The hell's going on in the stadium. I mean, I, I literally read on it. I saw the score. I saw 400 yards of rushing. I think I put out that, that tweet has to 400 rushing. I'm going to bed. Well, good night. Hopefully Penn State comes back at some point. We thought it was going to be this year. Joining us now is a man who is Ohio State Buckeyes had quite a weekend. His Ohio State Buckeyes found themselves a top of tones above average pole. His Ohio State Buckeyes might win a natty this year. And he's not just a college legend. No, no. This guy's an all-time leading tackle for the Green Bay Packers. I assume he's going to have some thoughts on the change happening in Philadelphia right now. Well, he's your German father of 10. That's right. Ten kids. Best friend of Aaron Rogers. Fresh haircut yesterday. Should still look good. Grilled chicken and rice. No salt, please. AJ Hawk. Yeah, I'm not scared of salt. I mean, I'm not Dan Oolowski when it comes to nutrition and how I eat. So I understand you do put me in that same category. That's fine. But there's no way. There's no, you don't rebuild when you have your franchise quarterback on the roster. And he is healthy. Have we ever seen a rebuild when you have your franchise guy? And he doesn't get hurt. No, and maybe this cam jargons deal was just too good to be true. They get a second rounder in 2028. They get a fifth rounder in 2027. So maybe a little delay for the 2028 second round pick, but he can use that this year to trade to potentially make another play for whatever they end up doing. But yeah, Devonte Smith's out there. He's supposed to be there number one. Zach Hertz comes back at tight end because they had some injuries there. Jalen Hertz is there. Seikwam Barkley's still there. You would think the defense still has some studs across the board and maybe be able to figure it out. They've been horrendous, I guess, on third downs. There's been certain situations where they haven't been good. But losing now, I could believe, I forgot about Landon. That was a couple weeks ago. Now losing three of your starting five offensive linemen in a very quick period start to season. That's tough to come back from. I think everybody that knows ball. That's why everybody who. Stoutten and two before the season. Yeah, Stoutten's not their offensive linke coach anymore. So it is very much like this feels like a tough obstacle for the Philadelphia Eagles to continue on a journey to a Super Bowl. It feels like they're putting themselves into, which I think why everybody's saying is this a rebuild? That's happening because this is a tough feat to get past. If you want to win a Super Bowl this year, we think. Oh, very much so. I mean, we talk about offensive linemen play like continuity is the biggest thing. Like those guys getting reps together, especially reps in games. I think you've learned so much about how each other plays and how you have to work together. But they, you know, the Eagles have to have a plan, right? They've shown that they can win. Like there's some kind of plan that we don't see that we don't understand behind the scenes, whatever they're doing. Maybe we'll maybe they'll open up and let us know at some point. Yeah, I guess we're going to have to watch it all unfold. Jalen Hertz has his 10th play collar in 11 years of football. So obviously there's been a lot of change for him. Now the whole offensive line is changing. We thought Lane Johnson would be the huge story of the day. It still is now also ad cam jerkins to that list. The Buffalo Bills, heading into Monday night are three point underdogs in Los Angeles. This would be the biggest underdog that Josh Allen would have been since December 12, 2021 on the road, whenever he traveled to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So a lot of people really like the Rams over to Buffalo Bills on Monday night football. Is that because the Rams are all the way back? Is that what people are thinking? Or are they worried about the Bill's defense in what Matthew Stafford with Pukin Shua being back in Kyron Williams kind of in his own zone is going to be able to do the bill. Yeah, you talk about that Rams offense at the top of the league. You talk about production yards per game. It's still not playing their best ball, but not going to the second game with Pukin Devonte. And that Bill's secondary, those corners have been getting the expose, you know, all year long. So I would assume that's the reason why in it, the Rams secondary, the Rams defense, I think is pretty good not playing their best ball yet. Interest C of Aaron Donnell will be out there in the field as well. But that, that, that, that is alarming. I mean, I know Josh Allen is a very, very, very good quarterback, but since 2021, a lot of people say Josh Allen gets taken and treated differently air by else on TV or sports books feel the same way. Here's Ben Fox with the information. Buffalo Bills currently three point dog. That'll be the biggest underdog Josh Allen has been in the game nearly five years. They like Josh Allen. Joe Brady and Josh Allen, we think are going to be good to fresh off a dub over the bills. Are the bills dead? The con man is out everybody saying, no, they'll never be dead as long as Josh Allen's playing quarterback and they got James Cook. And I think one of the things is they're kind of banged up. Like DJ Moore, he left the game last week. He didn't return. I'm assuming he might be out this week as well. That's a big reason for it. But I mean, they've won 12 to 13 games every year since, you know, 2021. So it's not that shocking. But yeah, it's hard to imagine the Rams don't put up 40 points just because it seems as though every single team has had a lot of success against their defense. AJ, have you seen the weather this weekend for down there in the South, more specifically Alabama for the Georgia Bama game? It looks like there might be some first three weeks of college football or two weeks. We had weather delays first three weeks, I think. I want to say first three weeks weather delays. Long ones big ones. Yeah, some really long ones and there was a lot of conversation about like ratings and stuff. It's like you get two and a half, three hour delay in one of the main games that's going to back everything else up and every it is. It's been a little bit of a slow start because of weather. They're talking about it this weekend in a huge way down there for Georgia Bama and obviously game days down there. And there's a lot of other festivities. But is it, are we in this time now? Is this hurricane season out, Debut? Have we been in it? And when is the meat of it? I don't really know hurricanes that well. It's been in it. I want to say it ends in November, but I'm not absolutely sure. I want to say November ends. But yeah, we're football season. We're in it for sure. Let's head over to hammer dot, dot, AP tone. Obviously, we know you're a weather enthusiast. How should we view what's going on? And is this what the next few weeks look like down in the South or what is your take on it as a man who hosts hammer, dot, a sports gambling podcast that happens every day after our show? Yeah, to add on a debuts point there. We are smack dab in the middle of hurricane season. But this is actually, this would actually be the first hurricane of the seasons, which was the latest hurricane in a long, long time as far as hurricane season is concerned. It's been a quiet hurricane season so far. And then yes, it ends in end of November. So, yeah, we're smack dab in the middle of it. You know, they they talk about the projections and the forecast, but it feels like it's kind of doubting right now that this is going to make landfall late Friday night Saturday into the golf coast, the panhandle of Florida. So yeah, maybe we'll get an expert on, but yeah, that's kind of my read on it so far. Yeah, that expert, we know who that expert potentially on the Mr. Cain Thorne have to have him stop by and break it all down for us. Alabama says continue to monitor the situation as we are. This is the type of stuff that happens during football season as weather continues to, you know, cook down in the South, coming out of hurricane season, we hope everybody be all right. And we will continue to keep people informed because our lives also very much invested in this situation happening in Tuscaloosa. Speaking of lives being invested in situations, current Philadelphia situation, Lane Johnson retires last night. And now Cam Jergens has been traded to the Baltimore Ravens. You've pieced that with landed Dickerson earlier in the season, a lot of new faces at offensive line. Let's go to the most famous Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman, a man who'll be a first ball at Hall of Famer, Super Bowl champion, member of Monday Night Countdown and also calling the International Games in London this year on NFL Network, which he did a flawless job. Next to Kurt Warner, David Pash and Molly McGrath on the field. The big man, Jason Kelsey. Hey, first of all, you guys would like to celebrate you and everything that you're doing, but obviously Cam Jergens He's getting traded today, Lane Johnson retiring last night. Let's start with the Cam Jergens trade before we dive into Lane Johnson. Cam Jergens was there to, I believe, be your heir apparent at center. I think you were even a part of the scouting process to bring him to the Philadelphia Eagles whenever we were on the Monday night. Football call, you and Cam had great conversations. Learning of this, I assume very recently, because I know you've been doing stuff overseas there. Just thoughts on what's happening in Philly. Yeah. Yeah, I just found out about this 10 minutes ago, you know, obviously Cam has been playing guard and playing out of position the last few games in Philadelphia. I'm excited for him to be able to go back to the center position, right? He's playing out of position, not playing the best football and up to his standard. He goes down with the concussions or he gets to kind of get a fresh start in Baltimore. You know, there's a guy that met a lot of the Philadelphia Eagles, won a Super Bowl, played through injury, played with the back last year. This guy's been very tough and very durable in terms of like what he's played through for the Philadelphia Eagles. So I look forward to seeing him, what he can do in Baltimore and everything they have going on this year as well. Yeah, so Baltimore gets an upgraded center. They need it and sounds like Cam is going to be back to the position that he's supposed to play at center. Philadelphia Eagles though now, within 24 hour period, glues to pillar offensive linemen. Lane Johnson's retirement yesterday. I think surprised all of us, Brandon Graham mentioned something on his show immediately after the Eagles game about what he had heard and what's possible. I know you're very tight with Lane Johnson. When you see he does retire as your overseas, what is your messaging to him and how do you kind of feel as this all is unfolding in real time? Yeah, I mean, my thing is I just, my messaging to him is just, you know, hey, I love your brother. You had an amazing career. You know, couldn't be more proud to be involved in it and have been by your side for as long as I was and how long I got to watch a play. I think he's the epitome of what the right tackle position is. His past blocking. I don't care about it. I mean, there's nobody that was a better past blocker in my opinion than Lane Johnson. You know, in my opinion, he's a Hall of Famer, not just in a Hall of Famer, he's one of the best to do it over this stretch. I don't think he ever got the credit he deserved on a national level. He was starting to get it later in his career, but just a great person, a great teammate to me. We were way closer than just being on the field. So I really am trying to look at all of these great things that he's accomplished throughout his career. The timing is not ideal, you know, you're in the middle of a season, all that. And sometimes circumstances happen, life doesn't unfold the way it always, you know, you want it to, but it happens. And I think he should be able to look back and I certainly look back at his career with just, you know, could not be prouder for what he put on the field and to be able to play next to him. A lot of commitment and contributions to sport. He should be wildly proud of what he did on the field. We talked to JJ, walked a little bit, we talked about it. The decision to retire is very difficult, very, very difficult, especially if you're good. Okay. A lot of times the game will tell you when you're done. That happens. For the first time for a lot of guys, they are told by the game, by a team, you don't have it anymore. Get very jaded. For the guys that still have it, which it appears Lane Johnson does by all accounts, everybody saying he's still playing great football in AQ said if it was a 60% Lane Johnson, I mean, he still a starter in the NFL, probably a top 10 guy in the NFL. So the decision to retire for you, I know is very difficult, right? For you is a very difficult one and for Lane, I think, I think that's something that Lane has probably been cooking on for. This didn't just come overnight, I don't think, right? He's what I'm trying to say. I think this is something that has been in the back of the game. Yeah. He's going into your, this is his 14 season, right? You know, I think whenever you get older in your career, it's something to think about. I certainly thought about it for the last four years before I ended up making the decision. It's, you know, it becomes really hard to play football, you know, when you get to be on the north side of 35 years old, especially up front in the offense, a lot of position. You're playing through things and, you know, your life has changed. There's a lot that's going on. And yeah, I don't, I remember talking to Lane for many years about what was right for me to stop playing. And we've certainly had those discussions with Lane before. So everybody goes on that road and arrives at that destination on their own. Well, not as there, like you just said, most people don't get the opportunity to make the decision. It's forced on him. He's one of the few players that was so good that, you know, everybody still is chomping a bit to get him to play and, you know, but the reality is, you're not 100% in, if you're not all in, this is a sport that's very hard to do. And, you know, I trust that, you know, he felt like it was the time to stop and that's where it goes. AJ has a question for you, Jason? Yeah, sure. Where's Lane on the field, Jason? Like, how do you, I know you can't replace him, like you said, he's going into 14 years playing forever, such a stalwart out there. I guess, what's this ego's offensive mind to do with all this, everything moving around during the season? Like, how difficult is that to come together and actually put a good product out there? It's extremely difficult, I mean, AJ, you know, so much of one guy doing their job on the offensive line is relying on the guy next to him. And the years that we have really struggled offensively in some of the years, like Andy Rees last year in Philadelphia, Jason Peters goes on IR, I went on IR, Todd Harriman's went on IR at one point, when you have injuries, especially to three guys, two guys, it really starts to be difficult. Looking at it, look what Green Bay's been going through to start the season, it's, it wears on you, it makes everybody else's job harder. You need continuity up front to really excel. So obviously, Lane retiring, Lane of Dickerson going down, how can, Jurgens is getting traded, you know, Chris Cooper has his hands full to try and get this thing going, the offensive line coach for Philadelphia Eagles, you know, it's not the easiest situation for circumstances to be a part of for sure. And that city is really patient, go ahead, Ty. Yeah, Jason, I think, yeah, I think you said in your retirement press conference, I can't remember what player you were talking about, but you basically said like, hey, early on in my career, I figured out that like if you're not playing hard or like you loaf on a player or something, like the Philadelphia fans will see that and they will let you hear it until, you know, things change. Now every game they lose, you hear all the stuff on social media and in the media about coach Seriani and hey, they got to fire this guy and you guys have done a great job blocking out that noise and understanding what it's like and Philly, but how difficult do you think it is for him when it's like, hey, I've won a Super Bowl. I've been to another like at what point does that know that noise almost like you can't block it anymore, you can't block it out anymore and it becomes a detriment like how do you think he's dealing with that right now? Yeah, I'm not. There's a lot of people that say to block out the noise. I don't, I've never been one that's taken that mindset. I think it is what it is. I think when you're a player and you're comfortable with who you are and you're confident, you understand what's real and what's not and when somebody's spouting off about things that they don't know what they're talking about, usually that never offended me by too much. And it's truthful and there's things that are listen, the fans ain't always wrong. Sometimes the fans do know what they're talking about and sometimes it's apparent and sometimes you as a player or a coach or, you know, a media whatever it is, you need to look at things objectively and like, how can I be better? What can I do to improve all that stuff? Maybe there's truth to certain things. Maybe there's other times where it's like, hey, I'm happy with what I did. And I think that was the right thing where I'm happy with how I'm playing. I went through it in 2016, the whole city wanted to trade me. I wasn't playing well. I can look at that retroactively and be like, okay, you know, I wasn't getting a job done. Now is that suck? That sucked that come to that realization that you're not playing well enough. You're not being a good enough play, you know, play for your teammates. Yeah, that sucks. But all you can do then is just move forward and try and improve. I moved forward 2017 was the best year of my career, I ended up winning a shoe bowl and, you know, not a lot of people talking about trading me after that. So as a player, as a coach in any city, but even in Philadelphia, you write the narrative, man, that's just the reality of it. What happens out on the field, if you go out there and dominate, they're going to have to write that story. So save me the sob story sometimes about what WIP saying on the radio and all this other stuff. At the end of the day, go out there and do it. You're in the controlling seat. Now, they do have some injuries, which makes it a little bit harder. But yeah, the Eagles fans, that's the way I overall think about it. The Eagles fans certainly take into account the injuries in a current situation and everything that's happening, especially with a guy who, I think gets a lot of heat, I guess, nationally. I don't know how it is in Philly, Super Bowl MVP. Go ahead, D-Bug. Yeah, he talked about being in that control to see franchise quarterback, Jaylin Hurts. Now, he literally made me a fan of the Eagles going back about five years when he became the starter. What does he kind of like behind the scenes? How does he handle, I guess, the noise, because he's dealing with being the two Super Bowls. And now, even some people are saying, some people, oh, they're rebuilding right now. They still got their franchise quarterback in the building. So tell me about Jaylin, I guess, behind the scenes of the leader in the quarterback. Yeah, Jaylin does a great job of not giving a crap with anybody. everybody says he's one of the best at it. I think, I don't know what his strategy is as far as like dealing with it, but coming into the building, that guy just wants to give a better region every day. He works his tail off. I have a tremendous amount of respect for how Jaylin goes about trying to be the best football player he can be. Offensively, they need to fix some things, right? No question. I mean, they're over 12 on third down this past week. In a lot of it, the last two weeks, you know, these third down all mugged up positions where sometimes it's going to be a blood zero, sometimes it's going to be a bailout, sometimes it's free safety and will week. They need to be handling these situations better and that's partly on Jaylin, part of it's on the offensive line, part of it's on having answers to all that stuff. But as far as Jaylin and how he is in the building behind the scenes, he's one of the most dedicated people to his craft that I've been around. His temperament is here and at times when things aren't going well, you want some of that fire to come up. But I think that's also been one of the reasons when we are winning. He's got one of the best two minute drill percentages in the lead. He's won in big games and that's because he doesn't let stuff get to him. That guy's as cool as the underside of a pillow, man, he is, he don't get rattle over anything. The underside, not the other side, the more accurate the surface, the underside, you know, yeah, the other side, whenever we middle of the night, you got a sweat on that side. This bad boy around fluff this up a little bit and these hotel pillows, man, they quit. They quit on you. They quit on you. The thing that really gets me going, I cannot stand when the thermostat is a regulator. I want that room, like an ice box and I paid for that ice box. This is ridiculous. Are you traveling with a fan? I have been knowing a fan of the fan, but I wish I'd do it. That's the best thing. Have you seen somebody walking into a hotel room with like a big ass college dorm like fan? It's like that as whole runs so hot right there. They don't have AC and London, right? Yeah. Well, let's talk about that. AQ has a question for you now over in London Town. What's up, Kels? Hey. So, you get your first kind of moment in the booth, right? You get my Arizona guys. You got Dave Pash. You got Kurt Warner first. Can you talk about your time in the booth this weekend and also what it's like being in a three-man booth? Well, it's awesome, man. I didn't know what to expect. It's so different than anything else I've ever done. And I am so, dude, I'm so lucky that I had Dave and Kurt in here to guide me through this whole process and especially in the booth this last week. You know, it's a nerve wrecking thing. You're going in there. You've got to offer something in a short window. It's got to be concise. It's got to be informative. It's got to be something that you're giving the viewer. And man, Kurt and Dave both, like, even just like, I'd be in there, I could tell I'm getting robotic and I could tell that Kurt knows I'm getting robotic. And he would just do something like, say my name, like, "Hey, Jason, what do you think of it?" And I'm like, right away, bringing it back to just talking ball. And, you know, those guys, it was awesome to work with both of them. I thought the game was so much fun to do. I was so nervous in that first quarter now, like, all right, don't mess this up, Jason, don't touch it. We're live on air, boys. Bullets are flying. Families are watching. But it was a good time, for sure. Who do you have this week now? We have the Philadelphia Eagles. We have the Philadelphia Eagles as well as the Jaguars. Oh. Next plan. Really good ball. Really good ball right now. Yeah. Eagles. Eagles are, defense got a little bit better this last week than Chicago. Missing a few guys, missing more guys now and offense. So, yeah, it'll be a fun game to watch. Well, maybe you guys bring this guy into the booth for Eagles' Jags to start our Sunday. Coach doesn't kick a field goal, bad coaching again. Sireani blew the game again for the, for the, uh, on-smosh. On-smosh. On-smosh. I love this man. It is. I love this man. On-smosh. Yeah. I'm thinking about the Eagles overseas. You got to think about the Johns in London. Go ahead, Conman. Yeah, it should be pretty dangerous. Hopefully everyone kind of keeps their cool. Uh, I don't see that happening, but hopefully what are you kind of looking for in this upcoming game though, Jason? Is it kind of one of those things where like, hey, everything's going wrong for Philly? So because of that, we're all thinking they're going to get killed. So because of that, they're going to end up winning the game or the Jags have been rolling so well. They're in there for two weeks now in, uh, London. What are you kind of you looking for in this game? Yeah. I mean, the big thing I'm looking for from Philadelphia's perspective is I want to see what their answers are in third down, right? They struggled last week really bad. Even the week before, uh, in the Saints game, you know, they've, they've struggled with this all mugged up pressure, look and dropping out and they need to figure that out. I'm looking to see how they answered this would, uh, as far as, uh, the Jags, man, they're, they're rolling. I'm really enjoying watching their offense Trevor Lawrence has had quite the career resurgence with Liam Cohn, uh, and then their defense, man, they're the best Russian defense in the NFL right now. Uh, it's, I'm looking forward to watching the matchup, uh, the Eagles, I really want to see how they respond offensively, defensively big test for, you know, big fan Joe and these guys. How do they rebound? Had a great first half last week against the Rams didn't finish the game off. So, you know, it'll be a good one to watch for sure. And London. Are you in London right now? Are you still over there? Yeah. I'm in London. I'm at, uh, a, a bar called woodpecker, uh, the nice, uh, one of the nice women downstairs, I mean, to use the flat so I could come on and talk to you guys because, uh, it's, it's noisy down there. So shout out to the woodpecker and, um, this lady for letting you be, what are you doing over there all week? Are you doing London or how long are you staying and all that type of shit? Well, we were there. We got in last week. Obviously to call last week's game on playing rugby tonight. I'm going to go and play a rugby match. Where, where, where under the lights with the real team, what level of contact? Well, I, I think it's a community kind of community leagues, beer leagues type thing. Yes. You know, that's, you know, it'll be a good little match. I've always heard that rugby players are tougher than football players. So figuring out, put it to the test. You what it's like. I don't like that you're saying that publicly. It feels like there's going to be a lot more of them than there is you. We should've talked about this after the game, maybe that you were talking about. All right. It's good. Yeah, 92% of the greatest scrummer in the history of our sport get liquored up first. Yeah. You need to be boozing with them as well. Let them know. We also have that in our bag if we need it as well. Absolutely. No, we know how to do both of these things. Yeah. We can get it. Do you know the sport? Well, do you know rugby well? I do. I just got a crash course from Joe Marler, legendary prop for the English play 17 years. It's taught me everything in a span of an hour and a half. We'll see how it goes. How's the body? How's the body? It feels terrible. I did take it. I'm sorry. I'm flammatory or heavy. We're running through the veins. Let's see how they go. That's why I got I got my buddy Bo Allen with me. He's going to be out there too. Oh. Oh. I'm out there by myself. Alone tomorrow. Actually I got to give alone a shot. She gave me some pointers as well. So yeah, it would be a. I don't know what to expect. That really does. It's kind of like going in the booth. I don't want to get Kurt Warner to go and buy and do some play by play or something. This is the guy that was teaching you earlier today, Joe Marler. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know. What? What was that? Did you see on your team? I hope you're not playing against this dude. No. He's not playing. He's not playing. Okay. All right. You said he's a prop. I'm playing the eight, which I forget the name of that. But essentially I'm a big guy that's just going to kind of run through the line and then tackle the other team. Essentially, it's the only job I'm going to be doing. So you're staying in the middle or you're going to be because the middle feels like where it gets a little bit heavy and then you try to get that thing outside, right? Which is where all this powerhouse back row forward. Yeah. That sounds like a great position. I'm excited about it. I don't want to give away too much, but you've been doing a lot of contact sport here this year. Yeah. Can I give away what you're doing in San Diego? Well, that was in Houston. Oh, sorry. But yeah, why not? Sure. Go for it. I think you did some sumo and wrestling. Oh, hell, what? I think, right? I was mature guys. E.T. That's right. How was it? How was it out there? It was awesome. And these guys taught me, first of all, how to put them a washy on, which I had no idea how to do that. That's an experience very intrusive. Then we got after it. It's very similar. Thank you. You'd be interested. I feel like we should have been doing some of these sumo drills for O line play, brother. It trains like some good train. Some of it. That much for past blocking, but run blocking. Yeah. There's some translation. That's what I was literally talking to Pat before the show, because I was like, listen, like run block. It's like flat back. But I feel like they're always belly to belly, like belt buckle to belt buckles. So like, I'm curious how this translates. I was very curious. And is that what you're trying to do is figure out how to become a better offense? Rugby is a lot of scrumming what you did. Sumo is this. Are you just doing all body to body sports to figure out leverage? Well, these are just all sports I've always wanted to do. high school I played in. any sport they put a helmet on, right, lacrosse, yes, hockey, yes, football, yes. So now I get to do all the other contact sports I never got to try. Sumo I've always been interested in like what the heck is this, how do you do that? Rugby my dad played, so I still remember going to, you know, a field when I was a little kid and watching him go out there and do it. So, I'm just having fun doing things that I've always wanted to try. Sumo, AQ, some of the guys go flat back. But usually the bigger you are, you just want to get belly to belly and grab them. Yeah. So, I'm the bigger guys. I eat you. My man Zorig told me you got to work half a man, you got to kind of get on half of the surface. You're working an ace block, you're working an ace block. Exactly. Exactly brother. I love this talk. Yeah. America. I needed this in my life. Yes, we did. Sumo, ace block strategy. That's right. No problem. You see it in a hole. We're half in that guy. We're moving up to the next one. Jason, good luck out there. You did great in the booth. We miss you on Monday night countdown. We'll see you down the road. I miss you guys too. Can't wait to be back. Thanks for having me, Pat. Thanks everybody. Nice to meet you. Jason Kelsey. Hey, Kelsey. Yeah, he showed up in Monday night countdown and I was like, how's it been, man? Because I just got done sumo wrestling. You're guy, you cheat. And I was like, how's that happened? And I'm going to play rugby next week on a man over there and I'm like, so are you trying to like create the greatest leverage athlete of all time right now, like trying to take from all the different techniques of that would be a good, I assume that's a good TV show. I assume that we, I hope he's filming. He is. That's me, so I liked that his dad played when he was young. So at least has a little knowledge of the sport because I gave him a full text message about him represent America because he is potentially our best scrummer of all time. 92%. He's a great size, too, because he can move like he absolutely can move too, but how being like, yeah, I think he's going to be very good at rugby. Okay. So his dad being a rugby player makes sense for the push push. Yes, sense. Yeah. Like, why is the push maybe not as successful without Jason Kelsey? Well, he's been scrumming since he's a little lad and he also has football goat type technique. Yeah. It's unbelievable. The technique that he had and getting in like that four point stance, having his head underneath. It's all about leverage. It's all about low man wins. Time is a lot of these centers, right? Like they, they're a little higher and then they try and go low. Well, if you, if you don't start low, he started low. I think that was like a big piece to the puzzle. Yeah. His face was just hovering over the football and it as he was, and they've really cracked down on that. I've seen more off sides on offensive line in this year than I have in the past 10 years combined. Like, it does feel as though the push push style is kind of gone and now it's like, hey, the tight end is going to take the quarterback by the hips and plant them in one of the gaps and we're just going to fall for it. Ladies and gentlemen, let's pivot away from Marugaby and football to the sweet science. Woo hoo. What an honor right now, actually joining us, one of the biggest names in the history of boxing. He's quick. He's fast. He's an icon. He's wealthy because how great he is. He's been a pro since he was 15 years old. Has a flight on October 31st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Making on Christian embelly, embelly, embelly, ladies and gentlemen, 63 wins, former four title champion of the world, ladies and gentlemen, canelo operas. Hey, glad to be with you guys. Thank you. Hey, thank you for the presentation. Thank you. Not bad right. Good introduction there. I was trying to paint all off because the history obviously matters. The future matters. And then also I was spinning them things. You know, just a showcase that I got. That's very good. Thank you. Thank you. You the teach me how to golf and box someday and make me a better man. But let's talk about you in your boxing career. Obviously your name is synonymous with the sport at this stage. Your 36 have a massive fight here against a knockout artist who's younger than you by a bit and has less fights than you. How do you prepare for this coming into October 31st and how do you feel at 36 first maybe when ever you were 21, 22, 30 even? I feel like I'm 26 but with experience, more experience, I feel great. I feel great. I've been training healing and the explain and with all this technology and my body is great. My body is in a great position and, you know, I've been training very hard for this fight because McBeele is the kind of fighters go forward, throw a lot of punches, strong and I'm going to need a lot of stamina for this fight and to be prepared for whatever he brings. Let's talk about the stamina. That's your thing. In Boxer's outrageous cardio, anytime somebody that is in a boxer gets into boxing, then you say, well, this person's going to peter out basically at some point and not be able to make it cardio wise. I think I read, you've been boxing since you were 13 professionally since you were 15 and you've been with Eddie Renoso through the entirety of it. Has your conditioning in cardio been this way since you're a kid? Is this a main focal point still at 36? How do you kind of separate your training with Eddie who's been around your whole life? No, Eddie and I, we together in my whole life. I started with him since I was 13 and yeah, I turned from a 15. So it's been a long time, it's been a long boxing career, but you know, I've been in fighting for World Champion since I was 20. So it's 16 years already and you know, we know how to prepare, we know how to try and get ready for these kind of fights and when you know your body, you know your body. So, but these times, we change a little bit with the technology, you know, right now the technology is great and we adapt ourselves to that and we feel great. We feel great and we're almost ready to get in my 100% October 31st is the fight, go ahead, AJ. So you mentioned that technology, how is that changed and what is it training, is it how you're watching film of your opponent, what's the technology? Yeah, obviously we watch our opponent, we have the experience with the same style and you know, they have all the technology, how you're going to get better and better than every training and every week is better. So, we test our body, my body, we test my body and my body is 100%. My muscles, my brain, my condition, everything to put it in a good training. So all that technology has me for, because before you train like everybody, you know, right now with that technology, you train a specific for your body because every single body is different and you need to train just especially for your body. And that's what I'm doing right now. Everybody's max is different at different times. So if you can find out what a max is for this particular day and then we're going to push the max the next day and then obviously we're just trying to see that go up and to the right no matter where we start out. And what is the best training condition and everything for my body? So that you know, when that thing gets in 10th round, 11th round, we've got put it in here. Yeah, yeah. Well, my hands will drop down there. You know, I start doing that. I do virtual. You have a box in the Oculus, you ever go in the Oculus and box? And what? Oh, no. Ugly Joe. Never heard of him. The virtual reality boxing. You put the glasses on. Oh, I did once and the guy knocked me out. Oh. Oh, no. It's not realistic. So. There's only time. I think Joe. He's a problem. He's got ideas for you, hey, I've knocked out every guy in there. But I do want to do it in real life, real life just come to my training comments. We can do it. I help you. Sure. I'm sure you would. Yeah. I'm sure you would. How do you get tattooed? You match my whole body. Oh. One liver shot. Just crumbling in there. This is much different than virtual reality. Happen to hear you're going well without the super modern technology. You know, I would box you in virtual reality though. No problem. Don't need to be touched by those hands. Maybe you. You read me that. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe. He said it. Yeah. Let's go ahead and clip that for the rest of the time. I wouldn't. And you'd beat me on a golf course, too. And anything else you want to compete against me. And you would win, which I don't love. Debut has a question for you. Can I know? Yeah, champ. So many fights under your belt. So many training camps. Has there been any talk about different with technology? Has there been any major changes with this fight camp in particular? And then secondly, with so many fights in your belt. Do you still kind of get nervous or butterflies before stepping into that ring? Oh, the butterflies, yes. You know, I love boxing. And the butterflies still there, you know, something like that. can explain, uh, as an athlete, you can, you, you know. Oh, yeah. But yeah, but still there, the butterflies are still there. I love boxing. I love being in there and, and, and, and, and the changes is that your strain, uh, for, um, what my body, uh, need, and, and those are changes, then I feel, I feel bad. Tell me when you're walking in, the whole world is watching you walk. What is happening in between the ears as we're about to fight? What, what is the, uh, nothing, nothing, focus on the fight, focus on win, focus on the win because if you focus on people, focus on what is happening outside, then you fuck. Yeah, I'd say. Yeah. Hey man, Connor has a question for you. Yeah, you know, obviously very difficult going through camps and everything. So after your, you know, last fight with Crawford, how long do you take off? You take a couple months where you're just golfing, hanging out and joy in life, like what is kind of the downtime like for you in between camps? You know, boxing is my life. I always try to be in shape and I train. I have shared it in my elbow, uh, so I need to take a little bit off of, of training. But yes, just thinking and, and, and think what mistakes I made and go forward and, and, and, and, and, keep improving, improve and, and, and try to be in shape. I, is, my lifestyle is that in his boxing and take care of my body, eat healthy, breast, and train. That's all about. Unbelievable commitment to sport at this age of 36 starting whenever you're 15. That's 21 years of commitment to body to sport. We appreciate that. And at this stage, your name is like Fight of Century, Fight of Century, Fight of Century. We're learning about imbillionaire. Every, exactly, tie has a question about that. Yeah. Canelo, how is that evolved over the course of your career? Because for someone who's watched you back, you know, like I remember when you fought Floyd Mayweather and then you had the trilogy with Triple G and then Bud Crawford. It always is, anytime your name is associated with a fight, it's, hey, this is a canelo super fight. How has that evolved in terms of like you kind of maybe having some say and who you're going to select to fight next? Cause it does seem like anytime you box, they're using you to be like, hey, we need to create this other guy into a superstar. I just tried to fight champions. That's all about my career, fight champions and make the best fights out there. And that's it. Because I like challenge. That's why I have so many fights called Fight of Century or the biggest fight or something like that, because I always think about to make the best fights out there. Your fans love it. We appreciate it. We, whenever we learn that you're making or doing this fight, which was definitely whenever it was announced, it wasn't over the last couple of days. No, no, no. It was a long time canelo. We've known about this fight with Embelly and who Embelly was for a long time. We didn't just find out about this in the last couple of days. As soon as we find out that you're fighting, we all get excited. That's like the whole world gets excited to know that you're fighting. So I would say job well done, sir, for your sport. Oh, thank you. I appreciate that because you know, I just do what I love. I just found out that canelo means cinnamon, too. I feel like that's a bit stupid. I feel like I shouldn't know now in a long time ago. I feel like that's something I should have known. That's on me. It's very easy. I mean, now it makes sense. Yeah, it makes sense. Once I read that, I was like, of course, sure. And also Mexican folks great with nicknames, um, little cinnamon ass over it. Yeah, it canelo. They figured out they they see you said and they figured out the name right away. What do you think they call me? Good and go. Got it. Okay, let's talk, uh, let's talk about your family. Uh, I read eight, eight in total kids. Is that accurate? And your brother's box, your brother introduced it. So whenever it comes the box, my older brother was the priest guy to get into boxing. We didn't know in the family. He just invited us to see him to get into a pro. And that's why when we, we, we, we know, we knew he's in boxing. And when I, when I saw him fighting, I said, I said to myself, this is, this is what I want for my, for my, for me. This is when I want, I want to be a fighter. I'm happy is how your older brother did that for the good of all of us, but also, uh, for the good of sport as a whole. And now you're 63 wins. You're going to have many more fights. It sounds like you're in still an incredible shape. I assume there is a routine of sorts. A Q has a question for you. Yeah. On the day of the fight, long day, long fight, card. Can you take us through your day? What you do, you know, basically from the time you wake up to the time you fight also, how you hydrate and how you handle food on the day of the fight? Yeah, it's very important. Uh, it's very important. The food and everything you drink because you can lose the fight there. No, you, you can lose the fight there. And it's very important, carbs and good, uh, good fat and, and the day of the fight, I wake up and, I need, I need really good carbs and then a little bit rest that will walk a little bit and, and then like 3 to 4 p.m. I, I, I ate more carbs because, uh, you're going to need it for that day. How's the weighing process? Oh, it's a hard, the hardest part is a hardest part. It's very difficult to explain, but the last four kilos, the last eight pounds, 10 pounds is just water. It's just water and, and it's the most difficult thing. Four kilos, you know, 10 pounds, four kilos, 10 pounds. Four kilos is like eight. Eight pounds. Okay. It's the, the last four kilos for the last week is the most difficult thing. What are you doing? We're, uh, we're jumping rope with sweatsuits on. We're sitting inside the sweatsuit, uh, everything. And you, and every drop, and you, and you eat very, very little and drink very little. As I got an easier over time, but I got harder. Cutting weight. You know, when you, when you know you're about, already like me, being in this situation for a long time, I already know my body and I, I know how to go little by little. No, some of the fighters right now they, they lose, I don't know, 15 pounds in one day. And that's, that's very hard. That's, that's, that's not healthy. So I don't do that. I don't do that because it's not healthy for you by, you talk little by little. You talk about day of car bloating and how you go about waking up and on a walk and a run. We thought maybe you'd do one of your hobbies. AJ has a question for you. Yeah. I know, boxing is your life, but I know you've been a very, very good golfer. You've jumped in that. I know you're into horses as well. Or you can you, how do you ride this? It looks like from the internet, you ride pretty well. No, I ride since I was five years old. I, I used to work in, in a farm in Mexico. So and I ride since I was five years old. So I love horses. I love being around them because it's a good energy for me. Pure energy. And golf, golf, I, I used to find out both in 2019 in that COVID. So, and I love golf so much. Yeah, what are you scratch? I miss, I miss, I miss golf because right now, I can no golf, but I miss golf right now. I can't know golf. I miss golf. What a line golf is going to love that line as a whole. And you're scratch now, right? Aren't you? No. I can, I cannot be scratch because every time I go into training camp, I, I, I don't grab a club. So it's then to get back is difficult. It's getting away this all. All right, listen, let's win this thing, and then let's get back to scratch this time in between fights. We appreciate that. But I, without, without, without without practice and without grabbing a club and everything. I'm, I'm candy cup 10. Keys. See, beat me in that. I play with it with 80 82 something around. That's pretty good. I don't work. Damn. Hey, when we're riding this horse, do you, are we standing on this thing? Hey, do you, do you want to do that? Do you ride backwards? Yeah. Do you ride backwards side? You sit and side saddle. Side saddle. And I think you're flipping over top underneath, over underneath underneath underneath. You're not doing that. I invite courses like a man. You're the best. Good luck, brother. Here's a picture of you on a horse. Like a man. Okay. Yeah. Roll it in. You look so cool right there. If I could look like that, I would obviously choose it every single time. And congratulations, dude, on everything. And good luck, October 31st. We can't wait to watch on the zone. Thank you so much, guys. Thank you so much. I appreciate your time. Hey, Oculus Boxing, you and me. Yeah. Okay. - Not prepared for that too. - Not real life. Actually, maybe if we could get blindfolds on some of these guys in the real life gym, I would have a chance. Even though your guys is so narrow, I don't really understand. Your guys are so-- - You can, you can pick a hand. - And you're gonna-- - Just one hand. - Yeah. - Okay. - You can pick one hand. - Okay, both hands gone. - Yeah. - I want both hands, that's Canelo Alvarez, thank you. - Thank you, Canelo. - Sentiment. It was so easy. It was just sitting right there the entire time. Soon, he's back, he's back, he's back. Hold on, I think he's still there. Is he talking? - When you know, it's so easy. But it's easy. - It's easy. - No, it's so easy, because you know, but before, it's come to the game. - Yeah, you're 21 years into this thing. You know, Muto's glassy, it's me and Mico. Okay, good luck out there. Canelo Alvarez. - Yeah, Canelo. - I mean, great nickname. - Oh yeah. - Unbelievable. - Oh yeah. - We all knew that that meant sentiment? - Yeah. - No. - Okay, thank you. - No. - I thought it was something with red. I didn't know sentiment. I thought it was something red. - Okay, sweet. I don't feel like such an asshole. I mean, I definitely feel like an asshole. Let's not get it twisted all the time. But for this particular case, did feel like it. But it makes sense whenever you see it. And yeah, he's one of eight kids. And-- - Shout out his brother. - Boxing, yeah, becomes-- - Yeah, he's not scared to stand and bang. That's why he's been around. He's awesome to watch. There he is in the entire order of the kids. But if he's the youngest and the oldest is boxing, yeah, I assume that extends outside the gym. They're also working on the little guy as he's getting there. - All right, more. - Not, yeah. I wonder what age that was. - 15, he turned pro. So 13 is the first documented time he gets taken to the gym. It's kind of talked about. 15, he turns pro. I wonder what happened in those two years in that gym. - Like this? - Oh yeah, one guy wants and just fucking dropped him like a sack of potatoes and they're like, all right. - Sentiment needs to get sassy. Yeah. We need to get his ass going. Congrats to him on all the success. Good luck to Embelly, Embelly, Embelly, Christian, who, um, Cameroon born based out of Montreal. He, 29, 0 and 1, with 24 knockouts. - Not bad. - So, we don't know the name and in boxing, there's a lot of like, ah, fighting some scrub, there is some money grab. It's like, I don't know. I think this guy's a really good boxer, the people don't know about 24 knockouts, 29 wins. That's, uh, electrifying. - You got a posture chance. - That'll showcase Cameroon's. - Yeah. - Everything. - Yeah. He's, he's fun to watch. I watch all the fights. I don't know enough about it, but I do watch all the bar key fights. It's so much fun just thinking the mindset of going into a real gladiator in the modern day. And then he's a 10 handicap, any rides horses or a legend. We'll continue. - We'll be back with big shrugs, big plays next. - Boom. - Yeah, perfectly did. - Nailed it. - Mm-hmm. - Nailed it. People are gonna love that. - Yeah. - Working on a song for him. - I did make a song for him yesterday. I don't know. - Oh, he did. - What's that? - Did you send it to shrugs? - I'm trying to figure out whether or not he would think that's disrespectful or not. - I don't know. - He would love that. - Definitely not. - That would be the theme song of Big Day with big shrugs tomorrow. - Breaking down the big place. - Yeah. - He's a song for it because I do love the name Big Day with big shrugs. I don't think they call it that. - They don't. - But it should be called Big Day with big shrugs. - Yeah. - That too will be. - 'Cause whenever you see Peter Schreiger, you think yourself, that's big shrugs. He's bigger than I thought. - Yeah. - Kind of a lumbering fellow. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah, he is. - So he is big shrugs. All right. This goes in. It's a big day with big shrugs. - All right. - Oh, you were right online. - I was in. - It's gonna take some work. - Let's take a break. - Let's go, Todd. We got the top five offensive lines. We got good D. We got situational report. We got so much to cover. We got so much to learn and so much to celebrate. Be a friend, telephone, something nice in my change in life. Take five. - Five. - Five. (whooshing) (whooshing) (whooshing) (upbeat music) - Football. - It is the absolute greatest. And it's not just me here. There's obviously a man as a college football national champion. It's your both champion rider cup winner, AJ Hawk right here. It is October 7th, 2026 right here. Awesome work. The toxic tables here at Boston Conor and at Thai Schmidt. He made it play in the NFL for nine years at every position in the secondary. Darius Jay Butler is here. 12 year NFL vet. Super Bowl champion, AQ Shipley is here. - You're here, you're here. - And live from hammer. - Todd, Todd. - Is Ton Diggs. Ton, okay. As we look ahead to another weekend of incredible football, what should we be thinking about how the gambling trends have been going? Because I and Monday night football, I think, over under 54 and a half I do believe. - Sheesh. - Josh Allen Matthew Stafford, two defenses that maybe haven't played the absolute best. Feels like that's gonna fly over. What are some trends we should have in a back of our mind as we try to put out a good super boost tomorrow. - Yeah, when you look at the trend so far, it's been slightly towards the dogs this season as far as sides that are covering more versus favorites and dogs have a slight advantage. And then home dogs, we've talked about it. They were six and two last week and three and three this week and so they've been performing really, really well. Overs and honors have basically been 50, 50 so far this year. 54 for that Monday night game. You know, the bill's defense has not been very, very good. So that's why that one is really higher. Or if you're playing, if you're going, if you're betting a Lions game, just take the over in that one because it's got the worst defense of all time. This will be the first weekend that we really need to watch weather. We talked about the hurricane potential for Tuscaloosa, for Bama in Georgia. But if you look at the big poll, if you look at the big poll that the hurricane path looks like, it's traveling up into the Midwest area into over to Pittsburgh, the Mid-Atlantic area. So that'll affect games on Sunday for the NFL as well. - Okay, so it does look like a genie coming out. - A bit. - Yeah, yeah. - But if it goes, it could also look like a curved penis. - Bingo, sure. That's what a lot of people say. - I was thinking of the thing with the skull for the-- - Oh, Tuscaloosa, oh, the former. - Yeah, okay. - Hey, have you guys seen the commercial? There's a commercial with a medication for curved dogs. I just saw it the first time. - What? - It works. - It works. - Oh, okay. - Time straight to arrow. - It's something. - What, so what happened, age? - Oh, I don't know. It was a commercial. It was running, I think during the Ohio State game and the people I watched it with, they had seen before, but it was medication for curved dogs, like extremely curved dogs, I guess. - Okay, so, if yours goes west and want to, maybe take it a little bit northwest, we got the thing for you. I'm happy people are getting a chance to experience some real length as opposed to a slice, you know, or a super slice or a super-- - Pick the fade. - Super fade, yeah. Get it from a slice to a fade. This medicine that AJ saw this weekend, while he was sitting with a crowd of people who had seen it before. So, I liked just the thought of how we got that information from the people. AJ immediately goes, "Was that medicine about curved dogs and then forced others to chime in in Ohio?" - Bobby immediately. - Oh, I'm saying before. (laughing) - I already got an order and I can double it for you. You can split my order if you want. I think we're about the same. I've seen you in the shower. It was a long time ago. - Let's try it, let's try it. - So, I'm happy that's what's happening in Ohio. Shout out to you guys. Shout out to the state of Ohio. Oh, age, I, oh, shout out to you guys. Thank you. - No problem. We will keep our eye on whether, though, 'cause that has a massive importance for the success. - So, what's the best case? Sorry, best case scenario for the, for game day game. It's gonna be rainy, windy, most likely no matter what. We just hope it doesn't dump on them Saturday. - I think I've seen two different time frames and that's strictly coming from my text messages from people that are paying close attention to it. I guess there's a chance that game day in the morning wasn't gonna get it and then the game was gonna hit. Now there's a chance that game day in the morning gets hit and it peters off by the time the game is there. Maybe it moves on. I think that has become the more recent read of the situation, Conman. - Yeah, I saw a landfall at like Saturday 1am. So it would affect the morning, but by the time the game is 'cause in the 730, it should be past, but even if you're in the path, like I still believe that there are gonna be, you know, rain/wind. - Implication. - The entire time, no matter what. - Teasing pees to everybody that's in the path of anything that's happening around the world. Hope you're okay. Certainly with the weather here in the United States. AJ, when the weather's bad, you're gonna have to do something with it. That's probably run the ball. To run the ball, you're gonna have to have a great group of big men in front of you. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to learn. It's time to go on the trenches. It's time for the top five, top five. Top five, performing off into lines. Coming out a week for the NFL. That's the number five. With AQ Shipley is the Dallas Cowboys, AJ. AQ, how did the Dallas Cowboys find themselves at the top five, number five off into line this week? - Yeah, I loved their film this week. They were physical. Their double teams were great. Their offensive lines plan at a high level. They had a fantastic pass plan against Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson. They were chipping the whole game, keeping those guys off the quarterback. But listen, the run game is where it starts and they're physical up front. When you look at this group, you go from left to right. Gaiton is the man at left tackle. But listen, TJ Bass at left guard and then the center Cooper BB right here. This is one of my favorite plays in football. One by three, tight ends left right there. Three receivers to the right. It puts the defense in a predicament, run it into the boundary. Now we get this pin and pull scheme. Nice job pin in the outside. Now watch the center in the guard pull around. There's Cooper BB, there's TJ Bass. Oh boy, you get them out on a DB and a linebacker. You do not want that walk into the end zone. - We let old buddy there just kind of run free. We expect the running back to miss him. Is that the plan? - So listen, whenever you get that pin and pull scheme, if we let this thing run a little bit, the pin and pull scheme, that tight end is gonna go and he's gonna steal the edge. the hardest block, the hardest block is gonna be on that tackle right on that down block. What happens is is he gets picked off. You see the down block by the tight end? That's what happens. That's not meant to happen. But again, you know that that's a possibility. Anytime you get that pin block by the tight end and that guy starts to play with the left tackle gate and actually had a really good block on that play. But he got picked off and guy goes over the top, running back out. Runs him. Okay, so that was Cowboys number five. Congratulations to him. Let's go to the number four offensive line coming out of week four in the trenches with AQ Shipley. He got some San Francisco 49ers. 49ers have been awesome. Listen, this group, first of all, first time in 21 years, an offensive line is given up zero sacks through the first four weeks of the season. You go back to the 2005 Colts with Peyton Manning. Obviously Peyton got the ball out of his hand quickly, helps the offensive line. They are not getting the ball out of quickly. It's a lot of play actions, a lot of other things, but they're running the football. And it always starts with the run when you talk Kyle Shanahan, right? When you look at this group, really good. It always starts with Trent Williams. But again, an extension of the offensive line is who Kyle use check juice and then Luke Farrell, the tight end. There's big Trent Williams highlight right there. He is going to seal the entire left side of this line. Everybody from left tackle over is going to seal everybody down. You're going to send juice and epinand emotion and then leave to see the defensive end in the linebacker off the ball. Frontside linebacker. Juice gets to kick out. Luke Farrell coming around as a second puller. There it is. Trent Williams sealed it. Conor Colby at the second level. Boom. Look at Debo running through Huffonga. Now watch this. Boom. Debo Samu's been unbelievable all year long. I love that Debo is getting back to who Debo has. He's a dog. Shanahan is a psycho when it comes to drawing these things up. Always been a tag team partner of the run game across the league. People jack his stuff. I like the young offensive coordinators keeping the old school football. And let's go to the number three offensive line from week four of the NFL season. Sodom Monday night. Congrats. The Atlanta Falcons are awesome. You saw them firsthand. I mean, they were unbelievable. And it starts with their offensive line. We set it a couple of weeks ago. Once Pentex got back in there, it's going to start with their offensive line. We're going to send the keyest in motion, right? The keyest is going to go across in motion. What that does is it creates leverage. Watch the line backers, bump back in. See that? That's helping the offensive line. Then on the snap, we're going to send the tight end, Charlie Werner back across, which is going to hold. You get the kick out by Jake Matthews. Look at the double team between Newsom, Berger on right there. Newsom climbs up and it always starts at number 63. Chris Lynch from on the backside. Look at him. Work his head front sides. Get the seal and then be Jean out to gate. See you later. phenomenal vision. A lot of trust in that O line. And then the pull the way break away speed all at the same time. You're saying be Jean. Certainly great Brian Robinson. Certainly great offensive line. No Jake Matthews going forward. No problem. Is Jake Matthews back? I don't think we know the update. I know he got pulled from the game. Yeah, I know he left for the game and they kept showing them on the sidelines. I don't know how bad it is or how long he's been out of if that's come out yet. But listen, the rest of that group is fantastic. Ryan Newsom coming in at Center, right? They lost Dolman a couple years ago to the Bears and then he retired. Newsom is filled in. He's been fantastic. Berger on high draft pick out of Syracuse. He's been great. Chris Lynch from one of the best in the game. If not the best right guard in the game. Atlanta Falcons. Kevin Stephansky seemingly has a team. You know, well says a team who's that the monsters in midway. Number two offense line coming out of week four. The Chicago Bay. Yeah. Chicago. Congratulations to Chicago. Happy for them that they got a good offensive line. Ben Johnson needs it and he's going to have it. Yeah, they're unbelievable. And listen, it starts with Darnell. Right. We talked about him a couple years ago. And he gets drafted. He was a game changer when they got him and then they go get Joe Tuni. They rebuild this entire offensive line and they have a brand new team. The emotion co-comment right there. Love him. Motion him into fullback. Now you're going to get this receiver going in jet motion. When you see that, watch the guy come into the screen debuts. There's the DB, right? So now that's the fullback responsibility bump bump bump bump bump bump, right, AJ? So you know, it's obviously zone coverage, not man, but anyways, then we get the run. They're going to go commit right through. He's going to fill on that safety. You get everybody else climbing up and look at the backside. Theo Benedict filling in a left tackle for Braxton. Jones been unbelievable. Joe Tuni at the second level. Phenomenal job. That's how you get the crease. The backside blocks are huge. Manungai just runs over Will McDonald at the second level. Unbelievable. Manungai, the second head to the two horse, two headed horse stable that the Chicago Bears have with Swift and Manungai. Manungai eats this week. We did not have a bump. AJ, what the hell? I gave you the bump. I gave you the nonverbal communication. Why didn't you bump? That's a good question here, D. But this is one where we got you get the nonverbal end of verbal. They just both stone faces. It looks straight ahead and never even acknowledge. He's coming in the box here. Yeah, watch the backers. Yes, it really dialed in. Coal commit shifts in. Get you guys know. And now we got emotion, DB trying to pass them off at zone coverage. I don't need to be on man going on the bump bump, pause right there. We thought about it. We thought about bump. Yeah. So both of these backers should bump this way. The best part about this right? Jonah Jackson's client on Demario Davis, the linebacker, and then Komet's supposed to get the DB watch Komet just take this. He takes over Jonah Jackson's guys. He comes over the top and just puts him on his back. Watch him take out Demario Davis as this thing runs. Watch this. Watch him fall down here. Look at 85. See his head right there on the right. Yeah, watch Demario Davis go down. Look at that. Geez, Louise. We're just putting people on their back. The jet, the jets that get realized. I don't know how much of it was called. Komet says AJ Hawk, but he certainly ended up on the ground. And ladies and gentlemen, the number one offensive line coming out of week four, the NFL season in the trenches with AQ Shipley is the Kansas City Chiefs. What? So not only is it K9 Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reed in the stars, the offensive lines the best in the league right now. Well, they were the best in the league this week. No question about it. They were awesome. And and and Khalil Benson, right? We talked about him. He was a tryout player playing left tackle. Comes out of IU. He was named the AFC Rookie of the Month. I mean, when have you seen an offensive line and get praise like that? But again, right here, Jalen Moore playing right tackle. We talked about it earlier. J.J was so pissed off. Whenever he got pulled out of the game, Max Crosby's out of the game on this look right here. But we get a great reach block by Jalen Moore and then look at that single between Tray Smith and Creed Humphrey, unbelievable job creating that crease and then know a great this second level. And then look, that's Jeremy Chen coming down. You don't know where to fit. So you take a bad angle and then K9, see you later, just outruns them to the to the corner and ends up having a huge run, huge run. Kenneth Walker watching the jump boat run. Realize he's going to get caught, turns, tries to put away. Okay, going down. He's become a real weapon. The offensive line benefiting from K9 or K9 benefiting from the offensive line or all of the above. It's all of the above. And listen, it starts with K9. I mean, I loved them when he was in Seattle, thought he was under utilized out there. He's now getting his opportunity there, giving him the carries. He's averaging 10, 10 yards of carry this past week, basically. And he's breaking a ton of tackles. Congratulations to the top five offensive lines here from the week four. Slate of NFL games. Five, Dallas Cowboys, Niners, Falcons, Bears and Chiefs. And from our understanding, if your team's on here throughout the season, you have a good chance of winning the Super Bowl. Cowboys supposed to give it their one of. I won't say their best offensive line in back, a booker who's been out for the entire year. So they're about to get even better. And if you're not on this list the entire season, you're probably not going to be long term in the playoffs. If you make the playoffs, that's what we've kind of learned through their into trenches. Top five throughout the last couple seasons. Yeah, I want to quick question for A.K. When you have a guy like Kenneth, like Kenneth Walker, when he's running and you can consistently run the ball, I guess how much better does it make your job as an other line, but not only to run blocking, but pass blocking as well. It's incredible. First of all, if you got if you got a good running game, it helps you in the past game because especially down there with the with the play action pass, I talk about it all the time. Listen, nobody wants to be in dropback pass protection for 40 plays in a game, right? So if you're running the ball and then you got the play action game going and then they're running screens too, you may only be in dropback pass protection less than 10 times a game, which is an absolute dream for an offensive lineman. That makes your job so much easier. And then also with his ability to break tack was your goal is, hey, let's just cover guys up. Just cover guys up. Get him one-on-one with the DB. Get him one-on-one with the safety. He's going to break the tack one. Have a chance to take it to the distance. Now, be John. They're comparing him to Barry Sanders. He has some vision stuff that I don't know if we've seen since maybe Leveon. Maybe Leveon's patience in reading that. Shady. Shady. In a name we don't hear enough, but A.J. I'm sure would agree, Arian Foster. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Where you could be on the back side is like nine was and he was still, boom, cut back and put a foot in ground and getting nine yards and get outside like those. Probably those two I would say from our era. Now you have Gibbs and Bajan who are like that. But for you offensive lineman, you know that if you just cover somebody up or just give us some space, he'll find it. Is the expectation? Absolutely. Just get a hat on a hat. And I think one of the other things, right? I always talk about tight ends and fullbacks being an extension of the offensive line. One of the biggest pieces that's probably never talked about it all, Charlie Werner. Their tight end makes that run game go a lot of times. He came over from San Francisco, right? He comes over from the Kyle Shanahan world where he was great in that world. They couldn't afford to keep him. He ends up going there and becomes that guy now for Atlanta where now he's the guy going back across. He's playing the juice role for that tight end for the for the Falcon. So Hooper's getting touchdowns. Yeah. And receptions. This guy's on the field to block for B. John. I think so pits. They just paint him. He really is like almost trying to find his window dressing with the Atlanta Falcons right now. They got to use him. They have to like any will. I'm sure they will. But like like he's a freak, I think for whatever reason, he hasn't had the production, but he's a walk and miss man. I assume at some point in the season, he'll have a stretch of like four or five games where it's like, Oh, okay, that's the Kyle Pissby waiting on, but kind of similar to what you're with the jikknack.com. I've been stuck in that dropback game is the same with Atlanta. Like, having that run, you're not gonna have pinnings in that situation, but I think at some point, it's has to become a part of the offense. - I mean, Austin Hooper in 2026, being a focal point, Michael Penix is awesome for Austin Hooper, and we obviously love that. Did not expect that going into the year at all. Thought Pits would be that guy, and then sounds like this guy's very vital to what their offense is or just be John. So Kyle Pits is really gonna have to find what his role is gonna be there. That's funny to think of your Stephanski. We've been so dominant, and we have yet to even activate a guy who could take over games if you really wanted to, or could. So I make sure a little bit scared about the Atlanta Falcons can be going forward. - I've always been, you, listen, I've been a fan of them ever since they built this offense a line for five years now. Now having said that, they got a quarterback now, and now this running game is unbelievable, and what it's able to do is now bring an extra safety into the box as we talked about earlier, right? The butts, and now all of a sudden, now you're getting pinnocks with single high safety, and now he can start picking people apart. And you almost think, if you're Stephanski and the Falcons, like, hey, maybe we look at what the Raiders are doing with Brock Bowers, and we stop bringing this guy inside. Let's just put him on one side, London on the other, you got Hooper and Warner, and then you got Bijan or Brian in the back field, like screw it. We're not using him as a tight end anymore. - So Fanski will figure it out. We have faith. Congratulations, thank you. - Thank you. - Another great week at top five. Now there is two things that D-Butt does for us every single Wednesday that makes us better, makes us smarter. And sometimes he's got to put a suit on. Well, a little bit of sauce and give us a situational report, D-Butt. What's the situational report this week, and what are we going to learn about here? - The situational report this week, and it's usually an offensive guy that goes off for a week when I believe it was Caleb Williams, then we had JSN last week, it was Brock Bowers. This week is going to be CD Lamb down there in Dallas. Now, I mean, actually Houston, now usually you look at his stat line, 17 catches, 189 in touch, and you're like, while he had to be beaten double coverage, he had to be making phenomenal catches, it had to be crazy. We throw it up on the, yeah, boom, perfect. Play one, now this is third quarter. So beginning of third quarter, this is a post cross route, something you see all the time. They're going to rotate down right now that's showing split safety. They're going to end up in single high. It's going to be a five man rush, so three deep defenders, one, two, three. You got your outside corners in your post defenders. You have three underneath defenders. CD Lamb, one of the best wide receivers is going to run across the route. And I want you to just see that's Stingley Jr. and he passes them off. And I used to hate this pep people mine for corners. Like, you're not passing them off to anybody. There's nothing but green grass. Stingley's continuing to face. So you're talking about the Houston Texas defense. So obviously we're going to highlight CD Lamb and making these catches, but it's baffling what is going on with this Houston Texas defense. Let's go to the next play. So now we're into the fourth quarter. CD Lamb, once again, I don't care what the coverage is called as a pro, as a defender, it's the fourth quarter close ball game. I want to know where 88 is regardless of what coverage you're playing. And right now, once again, it's going to be a three deep and three low. Now, this is the flat defender to CD Lamb side. This is second and 18. So this is a kind of get back on track down. Look at the coverage on 88. Like this is why this is pitching catch. You talk about free access. Three deep, three underneath again, wide ass open. So second and 18, CD Lamb gets in easy. And once again, one of the best wide receivers in football doesn't need your help to get wide open. Wide ass open for a 21 yard game. So now you're first to 10 just outside of the red area. Once again, deep into the fourth quarter. CD Lamb, once again, second and 10, second and long. Now we have another coverage. We're going to blitz here. So Jalen Petry, this slot defender, he's going to blitz. And it's going to be a screen. So it's a perfect call for the offense. But at some point, you have to have awareness of where the best wide receiving the football field. He catches his ball. And I mean, look what's in front of this. It's like your scripture for success on a Friday. You're never you're not seeing this in an NFL, the national football. We had a couple years ago, we had the Dallas Cowboys on the four box. And it's getting that bad in Houston right now. So I don't know what it is. If it's Matt Burke, if it's the players, if it's the Miko Rines, whatever it is, they got to figure it out and figure it out fast. Now this is a game winner. At this point in the game, he already has 16 catches for 172 yards. And we're going to leave him one on one with Jalen Petry right now. So there he is in the slot. And now we have our slot defender. Petry is a damn good football player. I don't want him one on one in CD Laminus situation. The safety's on the complete other side of the field. Ferguson's kind of going to eat him up. It's kind of dinner out double post something. You see every week in the NFL, that's where the safety is. So that press got knows once 88 wins this leverage, which he is. He's going to widen him and he's going to be wide as open once again for a post, which essentially becomes a game winner. You see the bottom, the score at the bottom is 33, uh, 30. This was obviously before. So after this touchdown was scored, that was the score with 43 seconds left. So I mean, just unbelievable. It's obviously you're highlighting what deck press guy at CD Laminus doing, which is great. But I mean, this was, this was pitching catch. I was gobb smack when I'm watching these clips and going back and seeing how Houston, Texas are playing. We mentioned earlier. Maybe the Houston Texans can find it after going 0 and 4 and debuts and nope. I didn't know that. This is the reason why because what the, because the Houston Texans notoriously good defense AJ Demiko Ryan's defensive coach, that's why he's the head coach. We've talked about them being historic, maybe. And they got these types of what is that? AJ just checking out not paying attention. One mental that's exposes. I don't know. It's, it's weird because like when things start going bad, like it's usually one guy out of the 10, you know, we've talked about it for okay, then we gave it a touchdown. We've been giving up some yards and plays. So you got to press. Okay, maybe I'm going to jump outside here where I should stay inside leverage like little things like that. And then all of a sudden, you're dropping like basic things that are day one install and you're in the middle of a game and you're trying to figure out inside my, it's like a, it's a bad deal when it starts going downhill like that because it's tough to get it back on track. That can see. He found it every time though. It seems like they did not miss. I mean, yeah. Me and you would have found it. How hell do you let him have like 17 catches? I just don't understand. And then one on one there for the game. Yeah, no one within 15 yards of him on that. The hell's going on. He's a coach. AJ Wapack. It's unbelievable. And as a defensive coordinator, so you know, I always start with the players. But, you know, obviously, coaching matters, especially on this level, but the defensive coordinator, what you have available is you got to down to this. You got to clock. You have a personnel. So now you look at your sheet and you say what you're going to play now. As a pro as a defender, it's your job to say, okay, we got quarters caught. We got covered, whatever the coverage is, but okay, 88 has been killing us today. Hey, you know, you lock up back here. We're going to double 88. I'm going to show you here whatever it is, whatever adjustments you have to make within whatever coverage you got to do it. That was, that was insane to see that. Joining us now, JJ Watt in the Houston, Texans, bowl ring, no, we just watched four clips to CD, Liam being wide ass open pre snap, post snap after the game before the game, fourth quarter, second quarter, third quarter, 16 catches, 17 catches. What the hell's going on down? I don't know. We're a great defensive team. I'm watching cold Steelers film. It's just four plays to be breaking down other games. I don't know. I respect. But a lot. I don't know what he's showing or talking about bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. Can I fix it? You tell me, I don't think so. He said no. Yeah, I don't think so. I think everybody's saying can't be fixed what we just saw right there. It's not a week to week league. At all. It's something that's forever. It can be fixed. It can be fixed. I'm just sitting here enjoying watching the fourth buckler play. That's all I'm doing right now. I got it on the screen. I got the film rolling. We can ruin your day. We can send you these tape, these, these plays. I mean, act like the first two weeks of yours were ruined. Okay. Here's a little biased already. It's got a long time ago. This guy's already a little biased going in there. Okay. Hey, just remember. Knock if you buck in there. Okay, please. Cheers. Cheers. Just ruin his day real quick. You know what's interesting is for years, they have rushed for and gotten away with it, right? Because the two edge guys wreak havoc. They push the pocket. They do all the things. Well now every team's coming out and they're chipping the edges. And they have not made any adjustments. That's the crazy part. They're chipping the edges. Like, I'd like to see them come out and some double barrel stuff. Hey, let's, instead of putting the defensive ends on the outside, hey, let's flip it. Let's put the detacles outside. Let's put the ends inside on the guards, right? Let's get into an overload thing. So now we don't know how to chip or where to chip, right? Like, just do something different. But to sit here and keep lining up in the same thing and let your best pass rushers get chipped is crazy to watch. Oh and four stats are terrible to make the playoffs. Oh, yeah. Oh and five. That deal can't be done. Can't be done. Cannot be done. Call it. We're trading for what Anderson. I mean, Joey Burrill and them tried right where they one and four or one and five maybe. When they went and grabbed Flacco. Yeah, and then they went on a hot run, but they weren't able to catch it. Yeah. 98 they missed it by one. Yeah. They do have a get right game this week. Oh, they go to Tennessee. Okay. So if you lose that one though, it's basically like a fire so cancel the season. Yeah. And there were case scenario, too, where CJ Strauss playing for a contract and he's playing unbelievable and they're still out and forth. That was the entire conversation with the Texas. Yeah. Oh, it's just the plan. CJ can just play in a good ball. He's wasting his Super Bowl defense and all this shit. And he's playing damn good football and they just, I mean, like you said, the lack of adjustments and usually when you don't adjust like that or you just say, Hey, this is how we're going to play. I said it yesterday talking about offenses like Tom Brady or Peyton, man, like they did a lot of the same shit every year, but they just executed so well, such a high level for Peyton. Some of it was like personnel. Like, yeah, you can know it. Running Indie routes. We run it this, but I got Marvin Harrison fucking Reggie Wayne. So I'm going to do it anyway. Houston was last year. We're gonna line up. Camari's last year's great. Stingley's great, safety's great. Pass, which is great. We're just gonna line up and play it. But now I guess they got the number figuring out, but that shit right there. That's, that's, that's just egregious. So being egregious, all pro corner Derek Stingley, Jr. Aaron Wilson was reporting on defensive issues and lost the Cowboys emphasize it's not on the coaches. Gameplay was great. Just having a little communication issues right now. Yeah, it might be too loud in there. Maybe the Houston Texans stands stadium is too loud. Maybe that's part of the problem. Too loud for these defenses. That's been something that's been said, right by a couple players now? Yeah, I believe Buffalo said that. I'm not sure if high mark stadium is too loud for their defense. Do you hear the say good? No, I didn't. Yeah, say it's, I don't. We were told this by a bill's super negative fan. And the quote itself makes it more so seemed like the timing of the calls getting in. And then there's a bigger part of the communication. Yeah, that is that. But did say very loud hard to communicate in the new high mark stadium, which is a compliment. But also the bill's mafia says, hey, you shut up. Literally every place is supposed to be the loudest. I think what he was trying to say is the timing of a getting in late with how loud it is. It's hard to get it to everybody. So communication is a big deal on the defensive side, especially at home whenever we're trying to make it as impossible to communicate as possible for the other side. Huge. And you love that as a defense because obviously that's tough for for the offense. But as he always talk about, you know, verbal and nonverbal communication. That's what you we saw on an accused clip with the bumping like, yeah, AJ can you'll be surprised at how much you actually can here, even in loud stadiums, but or you're expecting to hear somebody talking to you. Like me and AJ are constantly working in coverage that we're going to have some hey, if he comes on and you take 23, whatever it is. So you have to have that number verbal and nonverbal communication only for excuse, but even in film, you can be like, hey, you can see the guy, you can see I pointed and we pointed back like you can see that we were on the same page. So you know exactly who fucked it up, but getting the calls in is a big deal. The AJ helped with this much more than I did. Probably having the green dot and getting that call and probably hearing the corner like me. But hey, what is it? Hey, let me get it one more time and you trying to get a close call to get out the shit. So AJ could probably talk to those mechanics more. I can. No, I think it's a real thing. It is a true thing. Like when you're when you're your home stadium is very loud. Like yeah, it affects the offensive community communication. It affects the defense too. Like we can't hear either, but it's a good thing. You're always prepared for that. And there's so much, there's so much pre-snap talk. I think that people don't realize that is going on like every single snap, like especially between linebacker, safety, whoever's around you, D line, like all that matters. But you got to have hand signals for everything. Like every if I got a question, what my coverage is, whatever, like I got hand signal, close fist, open fist, whatever it is with the corners and safes, we can all communicate without even speaking your green dot. Yeah, good morning. You loved it, huh? You absolutely loved it, I bet. Yeah, I like it. I enjoyed it. But I mean, it's a thing. Two people have to adjust to where like as the calls coming in, I have to start yelling the call to the defense. Why the coach is still yelling it in my ear. So I can't hear what I'm saying. But you got to do that. I've watched I've seen some guys get the green dot and I had a buddy got a nice custom mouthpiece made for him that had fangs on it and some sweet fangs. And he tried to call the first defense and kept fun when it couldn't speak with it, couldn't speak with it in the D line. And take that stupid mouthpiece out man. And then I think the mouthpiece was done for the rest of the day. Sweet fangs, I do appreciate you complimenting how it looked. It did look cool, man. It looks awesome. First, I started, I mean a lot of guys started laughing and then got pissed because you know all fences run to the line and we don't have a call yet. It's the worst. Yeah, I could imagine being behind the April if you can't get the wording out. And to Debuts Point, we've heard many positions go, what's that? Because they weren't paying attention in real time. They were looking at something. Every position, every player will ask you, you'll say it 11 times, 10 times. Yeah. I love that you were out there doing that. The communicator. This guy's a big time communicator. Listen up, guys. I'm the freaking green dog. Not that, not that part. Don't point at it when it was on the back of your dog, bitch. Listen. I speak one more voice. Debut like about, you know, that we're watching that tape, that clip of, of CD's going from the slot three by one. I'm like, hey, bud, I'm talking that middle feeds deal safety. You know which way you're leaning pal. This, the guy, the guy guarding the ex back there. He's on his own. He's taking care of the slant on his own. We're leaning to CD four short. That guy has 16 catches already. Yeah. That guy has 16 catches today. Let's, let's get him. Let's have a couple extra. It's easier said than done. You guys have done it. I respect for that. Quite defense is a dead defense. Loud defense is a confident defense. And I know there were some of that. Let's go. Everything DB. Good. D from NFL week four season. D, but there had to be some good defense. We have to show this. There was some good defense sprinkled throughout. Now, usually it's almost like a rule. I don't put losers on good. D, but now we can't. No, listen, listen. Okay, thank you, AJ. It's been 637 days since the New York Jets got an interception and make a fist Patrick finally got one off the bag, man. So it has to be shown here because of the DB. It's got it. It's got it. It's an interception. It's about 20 week, 20 games, not get one. That is acidized. So starting here is showing. How many days could you go back to the top? 637 days. A lot has happened. 637. What a fly. 20 weeks. So right now, we've been running back a little bit to the beginning. They're showing single high safety right now. You got a cut split. You actually not a cut split. It's a coast in love in the end here at Titan. But I'm going to treat them like a cut split, like an X Y receiver because that's kind of what the rock concept is going to be. You saw it with the CD, the first CD catch, the post over. That's basically what you're getting here. They rotate to split safety here. So now, Mika Fist Patrick is a deep half safety, but he only has one vertical threat. That's coast in love. And so his key is the quarterback. You're just reading the quarterback. They max protected up. He gets it. Does a great job breaking off undercutting his play, picking it off. This was a phenomenal interception. Then we get their first one in 637 days. Mika had to make. He had to. I said it weeks ago when it just get their first pick. They're going to be on care if they lose by 40 points. They're going to be on here. So I'm glad they finally got that monkey off their back way to go. Jets happy for you getting a pick. That is astounding that you haven't done it in 637 days. You get a loss, but you get on good day. Congratulations. I hope you guys see that as a successful week for of the NFL season. Any other good D maybe some from some winners only winners from here. Now speaking of a winner, he got paid this off season, Denzel Ward. Now Denzel Ward, when he's, when it's all said and done and you put his highlight tape together, he will have like a text book like this is how you played the position from a technical standpoint. We always the cut split. He's outside leverage. He's going to hold his leverage, Michael Pittman Jr. And once again, this is like drill tape. He's square. He's under control. He's never panicking. He's all I think he's actually looking at Aaron already before this throw. Now Tom made the hey, make sure you say the Aaron's arm was hit. But regardless of his arm or hand was hit, he was making his play on the ball, just tremendous leverage, confidence, and just him being a supreme technician out there on the edge. Michael Pittman is trying to send him up so he can get back outside. Denzel Ward does not bite, remains perfectly leveraged and it gets thrown right to him. Aaron thought for sure he was going to get shook inside or the Pittman was going to at that point. That's why you got those big guys out there. That's why you got the big wide receivers of Michael Pittman Jr. is the DK Metcalfs of the world, because if you go back prestand, if you go back to that clip, Aaron and all the quarterbacks, no. Once you have this postfield safety, we always talk about it. You're going to have one on one on the outside. So you have press coverage, Denzel Ward, Michael Pittman Jr. Now, is that a matchup? I'm going to go to if I'm the quarterback. No, that's just the reason why he's one of the highest paid corners in the league. But he trust his guy. I'm sure this is why the great quarterbacks are the great quarterbacks. They felt they can fit it in. You had DK coming across the middle of the field, but this is Monday morning quarterback, but a great job with the leverage, great job at the past rush. He knew exactly what was coming, but you got to finish it. We always talk about catching ones. They throw to you. This is on first and 10. So you get a first down interception. Offense coming right back on the field. Big time play that obviously helped get their victory. Answer, Tony's point is armed. They get hit. So who knows where he was trying to throw that. Let's head over to Hammer Don. Don. Don. I appreciate you sticking up for Aaron there with D button. Yeah, I had to I had to say that. I mean, it was still a sprouts and avocado and tofu sub that Aaron threw there. Okay. And I will say this. I've we're no longer trained for colts players ever. Again, I'll say that too. Oh, big revenge. He ain't coming up for pitman. Yeah, expect expect fireworks five for 30 a ton. Don't you start for 30 30. Guy wins one game. He goes long. Okay, he's not going five for these. Not doing six yards of pop. I don't know. We we watched it on Thursday. It was a lot of that. I would give my left leg for five for 30. That'd be sick. And the Todd and the Todd you're right. Tony was pitching maybe just being able to say take backsy. Yeah. On trades for the first three months after they happen. That's what Tony was trying to pitch. And I I'd like to let you know, we would take that. The Indianapolis Colts would take that in an absolute heartbeat. We need him all the time. He was I think you'll find his way with you guys. So I'm got hit. He would have made that play right there if that ball would have been anywhere near where he, you know, pitman could have got it. Oh, dude. But then why was big Mike saying, pull some mustard on you. Fuck an asshole because I'm pretty sure that's what he said to him. He came to the sideline. Oh, he said, put some mustard on it to Aaron Rogers. Yeah. In Pittsburgh mustard. Yeah, exactly. I know I get the hinds thing, but you know, they weren't that's what he said. I mean, he's not talking about. behind's mustard. He's metaphorically talking about puts some fucking mustard on a football. - Yeah, and Aaron was obviously disgusted and he said mustard instead of ketchup. Maybe that is what all, call the fucking, maybe that's what it was. - Yeah, go to bed kind of the start of it. - That's good deed though. - Yeah, great. - Good deed of Denzel Ward. - Started the entire 21-nothing second quarter. - Right on time. - How about Munkin, dude? - How about Munkin, rally backwards hat? Got the boys ready. Got to get comfortable betting on him again. - Yeah, got to get comfortable saying, I like Cleveland. - Yeah, exactly. - That's tough. - The Spucks, too, their dogs, to the Jets this week. - Oh, I love that. - Love it. - I like Cleveland. I just said it. Pretty good. Let's see what the end of the picks end up being for all of us. Any other good deed around the NFL? - Absolutely, I talk about Denzel Ward and how easy he makes that cornerback position. Look, it's some guys out there in Jacksonville that are playing some great, great defense. Travis Hunter being one of them. He didn't make a pick in his game that counted. But some man-to-man coverage down here, even if it's zone, you get man-to-man matches in the red area and something I used to love as a defender is having a spot, having a AJ Hulk down in there being a low-hole defender. The Jacksonville Jaguars right now, following up last year with the turnovers, leading the league with six interceptions along with two other teams. But this is one of them. You see the man-to-man coverage. I highlight it, Travis Hunter just to show that coverage here, but watch Jordan Lewis in the slot. And then the underneath defender, the linebacker, a little con. Cut, cut, cut, the communication. Once again, Joe Broke, don't know if he saw him. Don't know if he didn't see him. But he just threw the ball to a spot. Great job being there, having awareness, passing the other shit off, and keeping your vision back on that quarterback and making a big time in theception here at the top of the fourth quarter. And so one possession ball game, 16-10. The bangles were going in with the chance to score. Jamar Chase is already out of the game at this point. This will be 4-T Higgins left. But this is a big, I think, turning point and momentum. Now you're getting Liam Cohn in his offense. Another opportunity, great job communicating, communicating, great job making a play. - Jags are for real, huh? - Jags are for real. They are a complete football team. They're a well coach. They're executing on both sides of a football. And they're playing with fire, with a sense of urgency. So you love to see that. I love that for Jaxville and Liam Cohn. Hate it for the AFC South if they're going to be a real team for the rest of the time, it feels like. Outside of Aubrey too, they might have the best weapon, kicking weapon in the NFL. Cam Little's, he's unbelievable. Huge leg, right before it at any moment. He had a 70-yard field goal against New England. That would have been good. You just like miss it by this much to the right. Missing 70-yard is wide right. Exactly, yeah. Certainly a thing to have. Liam Cohn will send his ass out there too, which I respect. I like that they, the family down there, the cons. They've tried their best since taking over the Jags. They're going to build an entire city down there. Just, yeah, we'll build a city. Don't worry about it, wherever you need. However, we can win, let's do it. Now it seems like they have actual sustainable success around the corner. And they're representing London for the next two weeks. Yeah. So they're an international team that started to dominate, could be good for the league as a whole. Yeah, they're late season. What was that stack coming? What, they was a 10 straight against the spread, right? Or 10-0 in their last 10 regular season games or whatever it was. It's insane. That's a good way to become a darling quick. It's a good football team. Another good football team, good defense. As I said, the Jaxville Jaguars were tied at the top of the league with interceptions. The New York football giants tied as well. And once again, top right, you see the score at 36-24. This was before the touchdown here. You got Deontay Banks, former first round pick. I think a lot with his success has to do with him changing to this number two jersey, because it is sweep. We'll just watch him, Michael Wilson. We always talk about his DBs. You do not give up slants in the low rear area. A lot of DB rooms will have a no slant sign. And you also have the treat, that goal line, almost like a cliff that you don't want to fall off of. So you maintain your inside leverage, right? Wilson's just trying to set them up. McBride's running the slant as well. And then you never get taken into the end zone. Because it doesn't matter if he scores at the goal line or the back line, he did a great job cutting them off, reading the route, being aggressive, doing exactly what you want your corner back to do, picking it off, and then taking it to the house. You can see the shaking. It was rocking in there. He's a game winner, no better feeling in the world for a defensive player. - Aki, we're in the building. How'd this one feel happening? - Yeah, not good. My headset was off right about there. Right about there. It was off. Listen, I was confused. They got the ball back, or they get the Marvin Harrison Jr. gets a PI call at the four. So they get first and go from the four, 35 seconds left, one time out left, and they call it zero runs. I was like, give me one run. Just give me one run. - And I'm sure you were saying that in the microphone. - Right. - Why are we running the football? - God, run the ball here. At some point, got a time out still. We got another time. - They're only on the four, everybody can get back in time for if we have to quick snap something. Deonte Banks. - He's a guy. - NFC defensive player of the week. - That's good. - Congratulations to him. Will Ryker, Teterra McMillan in the NFC side as players of the week, O'Riza for the Kansas City Chiefs. He pinned him on the one. He had a fake punt, and also one of special teams for Kansas City punched out a kickoff return as well. Congrats to Chiefs representing Drake May. Quarterback for the NFC player of the week. Congrats to him. We weren't talking about that a few weeks ago, seemingly out of his situation that started the season that maybe lingered a little bit from last year. And then Foyasata-Lewiken. Congrats to him for the Jackseville Jaguars. Obviously celebrating Jackseville their defense to those guys or players of the week. Drake, Foyasad, Matariza, Teterra McMillan, Deonte Banks. Will Ryker. [APPLAUSE] AJ, anything to say about the lads who in the player of the week, honor? I'll tell you what, Olukoon, we showed his pick right there. That guy is, like, for some reason under the radar. I think he led the league in tackle. He comes in years in a row. 2022, 2023, I believe. Like, he is quietly a stud. And I think, hopefully, he's getting more attention now because I actually do, like, number 23, too, at the backer position. But this guy has been attacking a machine since he came in the league. I like number 23. I like the number two. I like O'Riza, and what he has become with everything. Yeah, and how he is an absolute weapon in Drake May. This has to feel good to see him getting celebrated, as opposed to pooped on to on May. Yeah, it was Drake May of subs for a while. And it felt like those three weeks were never going to end. So having that kind of bounce back, he had an interception, but anyone who saw it, like, it was not his fault whatsoever. It kind of was one of those freak plays. Offer Romeo adopts his hands. He turns over ball pops in the air. But yeah, he played fantastic. I saw McDaniels. There was a step. They used 70% motion on the every single play for New England, which is the most since, like, 2015. So maybe some development here from Josh. I like what we've done, by the way. We've celebrated all these guys this year, or this week already thus far. Yeah. Bryce Young and T-Mac. Willie Rikard was my hymn nominee for Monday Night Football. Deontay Banks. They're on Good D, same with Olokun. And then Drake May has been celebrated every day since he got the New England by Conman, and then matterizing, he can't say a chief special teams. Talked about Tobe being a Hall of Famer. Look at us doing a little bit of ball. That was good, Deontay. Oh, yeah. Deontay Banks. Thank you. Great work today, Bob. Great stuff, boys. Thank you. Great work, AQ. Deontay Banks, great work this week. Way to go. Talk to the table. See you guys tomorrow. Thank you. Good luck, Deontay Banks. Good work, boys. I believe it's going to look a little different tomorrow. I believe behind the glass going to look a little different. Oh, right. Congratulations to Bruce and Mick getting us through the time, which Foxy was not here. I believe we have a celebration coming tomorrow back with a lad. Bruce and Mick, tall task doing something that you've never done before. Nobody else has ever really done what Foxy does on a daily basis. Either we're learning through the entire industry or the business. So way to step up, way to get it done for the lads. You weren't perfect, OK? Nobody who's expecting you has to do that. But you carried the ball well, gentlemen. You should be very proud of yourself, Bruce, and to mitt. I'm proud of you guys. Thank you probably the most challenging thing I've done in my entire career. But it was a really cool experience. It had its ups and downs, but like doing it live in Iowa. Like that's just something that I'll remember for my entire life. So I greatly appreciate the opportunity and sticking with me as I fucked it up pretty much every day. Yeah, you definitely fucked up at least once every single day. But Foxy has something that isn't perfect every single day either. It's you telling the story. It's Foxy telling the story. It's our communication back and forth. And that's why I like to talk to Mitt. Mitt, way to go, bro. Way to go, because Mitt has to deal with Bruce is all right. Open his mic up, please. All right, when do we meet him yesterday? We meet him? We said no more. Mitt, great work, way to step up, brother. Nobody could have expected you to be able to handle this role. I think whenever I said, I'm probably going to put Mitt there. A lot of people said, is that right? Is that right? That's what we're doing? Good job, Mitt. You should be proud of yourself. Thank you. I feel like that's a lot of things that you do with me. You put me in a good role, and I probably don't deserve it. But I try my best to just at least make it work and do my best. That's my best foot forward. Put my best foot forward. Yeah, nailed it. That's what I meant. There we go. Thank you, Mitt. I love you, Mitt. Love you, Mitt. Bruce will move back to Mitt's role, which I think he might now have a little bit of a better understanding of what is happening from Foxy's perspective. I think their relationship will continue to grow. And then Foxy being back. I'm excited to see him back in the saddle. He's going to be all over his shit. Bruce, fuck this up. Fuck, Bruce, I'm going to have to be moving some stuff, getting back into the house. I think you guys did a good job. You should be very proud of yourselves. Very difficult stuff. Graphic design boys obviously helped. And over there in Hammer, down, down, down, down. Turned away. You pulled clips for these lads. You're incredibly kind to them in the program. So I'm proud of you guys. And I'm proud of this error that we just had. Now Foxy's back tomorrow. AQ Shipley's back in Arizona. Debuts flying over to Philadelphia to shoot some stuff with NFL films, which obviously we love. And football kicks off another week tomorrow. - Hell yeah. - Yes. - Before we get out of here, AQ. - Come on, AQ Ship. - Like to make a football, makes the fire. - Fire. - 20 people, when $500 if you're able to put that football into this hoop right over here. Now, Jabba is right in your face. - He got a hand in your face. - You got the pressure of the past in which you've made none. Certainly weighing on those shoulders of yours. And you got AJ Hawk right over your shoulder, telling you this, just moments before you attempt the impossible for you. - Well, I just, I have a question. AQ, do you have you always had both forearms fully done? - No, it looks like the top is getting done in real time. - I haven't seen, I didn't know if you got more ink. - No, this one. - This one's new, this year. I got this one done, so. - Okay. - Yeah. - Okay, good. Well, if you miss it, you can blame it on that. Say, it's still scabbing up in the stores. - Oh, so that might be why you haven't made one yet. Looking for excuses, my eyes. That doesn't really feel like an Ohio or an AQ thing, but certainly something to think about. Deep, but anything to say to the new tattoo having AQ shifted. - Just fire pig skin. I don't even think about it, just let it rip. - 20 people, $500, you make it into that hoop right over there. Fire that pig skin. - Boy. - Oh, best throw of the year. - Yeah, best one yet. - I even have a touch on that. I thought he was trying to make it into him. - Mm-hmm. - It's got a Western Pennsylvania Inner Scholastic Athletic League basketball hall. - It's a good famer, so whenever he has a little bit of touch there, it does look natural. One more time, AQ, the people, $20, $500, all you do is put that ball into the hoop. Uh-oh. - Oh my God. - Yeah, you can do it. - You can do it. - He's our doctor. - Nope. - I was taking him back. - Thanks for that. All right, we thank all of you for allowing us to do this for a living. If it wasn't for all of you, we wouldn't get to live the greatest lives of all time. - I love you. - And the absolute best. Thank you all so much. Be a friend tolle friend something nice and much change your life when you're sitting together. Team on me, team on three. One, two, three, team. - Bye-bye.

FAQs

The weather could impact gameplay significantly, potentially affecting field conditions and team strategies, especially in a high-stakes SEC matchup where physical conditions may influence performance.

The Dodgers have a dominant duo of Shohei Otani and Yu Darvish, with Otani excelling as both a hitter and pitcher, and Darvish providing consistent, high-impact pitching, making them a formidable team.

Negotiations are ongoing, with a 50% chance of major change, as the league faces pressure to implement a salary cap to ensure financial sustainability and fairness across teams.

The lack of a salary cap creates disparities between teams, with wealthier franchises able to outspend others, potentially leading to an uneven competitive landscape and financial instability.

Lane Johnson's departure marks a major shift for the Eagles, as he is widely considered one of the greatest right tackles in NFL history, significantly weakening the offensive line and altering team dynamics.

His decision was likely influenced by mental health concerns, declining performance, and a personal assessment that stepping away would be best for his family and his teammates.
