PMS 2.0 1638 - OVERREACTION MONDAY, NFL Week 4 Recap, MNF Preview/Picks, Adam Schefter, Dan Orlovsky, Darius Butler, & AJ Hawk

The weekend of football delivered high-stakes drama, with multiple one-possession games and dramatic comebacks that underscored the sport’s thrilling unpredictability. The Kansas City Chiefs' loss to the Raiders revealed critical special teams weaknesses, while the New Orleans Superdome stood as a powerful symbol of resilience after Hurricane Katrina, hosting a celebratory and emotionally charged game. Travis Hunter’s standout defensive performance, including a key red-zone interception, marked a breakout moment in his career. The Chargers mounted a gritty, penalty-laden comeback against the Seahawks, a pivotal moment in their season despite being outpaced by the defense. The Patriots secured a dramatic win over Buffalo, fueled by Efton Chisholm’s late-game heroics and team resilience. Meanwhile, Ben Johnson’s bold, innovative offensive strategy—starting multiple players at once—demonstrated a new coaching philosophy that reshaped team dynamics. The weekend also highlighted the growing role of special teams, the rising impact of younger players like James Winston and Travis Hunter, and the persistent issue of player injuries. Across college and professional football, the energy, unpredictability, and human stories made for an unforgettable, emotionally charged weekend.

hello beautiful people and welcome to a glorious over-reaction Monday I'm live in New Orleans the boys are at the Thunderdome and now what the hell happens what the hell is my is my feed wrong Bruce what happened there did you cut to the two shot while we were still do did you see that I actually have something wrong with the board here oh no a jay hawk right there in the Thunderdome alongside Bruce Brown who's behind a glass having a full panic and anxiety attack as we speak on this glorious overreaction Monday October 5th 2026 it's not just us that are going to have a chance to chat about a Sunday that saw eight final one possession games nine if you count the giants pick six late to walk off that thing and make it a two-score game but whenever you talk about an NFL Sunday slate delivering from beginning talking about the Indian apolis Colts in London England yeah yeah is that good on all the way through Sunday football and beyond you're talking about football really hitting its prime and then college football Saturday absolutely absurd did you know that Mizzou was a real football team well they pounded a Florida Gators team Congrats the Eli Drinkwoods who gets his first win that would be considered a great win at the end of the season and maybe this is a sign of things to come and what the hell's going on with Florida let alone Florida we got another college football slate this upcoming weekend that's going to be great and NFL is going to deliver tonight as the Falcons from Atlanta travel here to New Orleans in the Superdome as we pay tribute to the 20-year anniversary of the Superdome reopening back up after the 13-month Katrina devastation catastrophe took place to this region now tonight is going to be a little bit of an interesting battle here in the NFC South we might be seeing the future of this incredible rivalry down here Michael Pennick's junior looked unbelievable last week in that offense absurd Beijon Robinson outrageous and in prime time he's even better than he is at one o'clock so whenever the lights are the brightest Austin Hooper score in touchdown in 2026 whenever the lights are the brightest and whenever magic is in store Beijon Robinson plays his absolute best but with a magic of this New Orleans city in the revival of this entire region 20 years ago become the storyline as Tyler Schuck and Kelly Moe are one and a half point favorites at home so football will wrap up its weekend beautifully here at the Superdome and I got a chance chat with an officer down here named James as I was walking up here to this particular location and it's beautiful up here it's great view air conditioning is working shout out to that James was working here at the Superdome back in 2006 and 2005 when Katrina took place and just asking him the questions about how this place became last resort home for 12 days for like 25 30,000 people as at the beginning they had no idea what the devastation would be become in this place that not only obviously harbors incredible atmosphere and energy and one of the best environments in all of sports it also became an actual home for people who needed it most so I think this Superdome is such a good symbol of the region that has come together and had to rally and beat something that tried to attack them over oh damn your 1400 deaths great Katrina damn your 1400 deaths obviously they say like 125 billion dollars in damages to the area and to the region and it's like how did well the golf just happened in weather so it's like what is so an incredible place you can feel the energy obviously a place of celebration and hosting because everybody comes down here to have a blast and tonight we should do the exact same as we celebrate ball being incredible it's not just me and AJ let's go to the toxic table at Boston Conor and at Thai Schmidt and then one half can you cut bruiser okay all right if you are you all right is everything okay back there Bruce or are we alive or no mm-hmm bruiser Bruce but yeah we are back we are back hey way to go Bruce and Nick we're all to in the back way to battle I am happy for you but just let me know what's not possible because I am pretty far removed as AJ is there in the Thunderdome and then one half of the hammer dad oh boys AP tone is here can't wait to hear the trends coming out of this particular weekend of what we need to gamble good double gun that would be a penalty in the NFL there's a lot this particular weekend nine year NFL Vett Derry's Jay Butler also in the Thunderdome debuts what a weekend a ball what a Sunday actually debug that was observed from beginning to end but I know we have our top five and the coats aren't going to make it on the top five do we have a dano Jones problem what what's going on and we obviously get a huge win in London over the commanders and remember we took the chiefs almost the overtime or two overtime almost got a win and over time we elected to kick a few goal patch problems comes down and beat us so we could be three and one right now shit should I be as in on the coats as I am right now debug after what you saw in London and also shot to David Pash Jason Kelsey a Kurt Warner moly McGrath thought it was an incredible game I enjoyed the entire experience but at the beginning I was having a heart attack in pooping because Daniel Jones looked like poopy Daniel Jones from the past and not what we saw last year debug yeah it was tough it's been tough I don't know if it's protection I don't know what it is but it's got to take care of football as a quarterback you know that and that was Daniel Jones biggest issue coming too indeed that's what most people worried about we all talked about the poll you know how the optimism level for coach fans and we saw kind of rearing its ugly head once again I don't know how that game would have panned out if Mary other than go down early they were up I think six points get already lost two turnovers you got to take care of the football but like you said in his league it's about to win you know Fiji T I think that needs to be our game plan going forward feeding JT feeding Josh Downs but you got to take care to football for it if you're Daniel Jones the ball is the program I know Carly's getting a lot of I guess heat for her role on the sideline what she's been doing for years what you been doing take it out what do you mean what she been doing you know just out in you know taking notes asking questions doing all the things that I think you know people should want their owner to be doing I don't mind what she's been doing but once the team isn't looking in certain way the expectations have been high here as far as GM the head coach the roster that we put together is gonna be more and more questions but I don't mind it but we got the win we got it overseas big time win big time day for Jonathan Taylor once again but yeah there are a lot of questions about our quarterback right now yeah Jonathan Taylor I think has six or seven international touchdowns which is the most out of anybody that's played internationally so how's that for being worldwide sensation Indianapolis coach Daniel Jones not looking great early we get a huge win AJ we win ugly I like that okay I like that we're winning games ugly don't love that we look so bad and don't love that we're not a part of the top five AJ I think there's a top five headlines of the weekend that we need to discuss don't you think that yeah I think we should probably get it get to those don't you yeah I think so and I don't know which camera to use here I'm be honest because like one of them is you know that one I think I'm too far and also you know how many small you get a lot of cameras a lot of cameras this incredible set up here is incredible set up here barcode and the team did a phenomenal job it's almost too big you know it's like you know what I mean like it feels like it's a bit much for just one person standing here in this beautiful Superdome but there's legends literally everywhere around here and you know it was nice to have this pop up whenever I got here look look up there yeah who's that who's who's that Jari Evans obviously hell yeah legend love that Archie Manning being right over my shoulder I absolutely love especially after the weekend we had in Knoxville just last weekend you forget about how many legends are in this place you forget about how special this Superdome is the football until you walk in here and then you just kind of think about to whenever Drew breeze beat your team by 70 I don't know if it was actually 70 it could have been a hundred I don't know what the final score was feels like well you that were you on the team that you know oh no I had my own shell acting in New England and was the you play big band Brady Peyton Manning but if you were ever in the middle one of those Drew Bruce Drew breeze Sean Peyton Blenders in that stadium it was ugly it was it felt like an avalanche and I'm sure I'm sure the experience was much much the same for you and the ball 62 seven by the way oh yeah one one that bet okay 62 to 7 it felt like that I'm to be honest I think first play we had a fumble we got the ball obviously we like to elect to receive what's not like Drew breeze on a field early we get well I think first play was either a pick six or a fumble six or something like that and then I think it was three and out and then I believe it was 14 quick before like maybe a minute into the game I it may be it might have been like a minute in the game and I'm told this story before so obviously people have heard it but it's legit and I think it's real it's my only memory really about this place I played quarterback during practice against the back end what's that seven set whatever the hell it is seven on seven card okay hey card boom bang boom boom you're doing this I was quarterback for first second year in my career that's what I literally did that I ran running back for the linebackers to give them a look actually took some hits in practice I think looking back on it wow you know probably kind of an interesting thing happening there as I was doing cut drills and then I would throw to the back half or whatever for cards I had so much fun doing it made made me feel pretty active and there are some weeks where I really cooked no week was as hot in the kitchen for me as the Northern Saints taking on that Indianapolis Goldstein now I don't know if it was our Tampa to I don't know if it was our personnel I don't know if it was the calls but what I do know is I threw at me I threw for 10,000 yards a week and maybe maybe 60 touchdowns I mean maybe we look this way boom then we look this way in Jimmy Graham's wide open right down to see boom take it We look this way and then boom. We had tied in on the backside down and they did just that I mean they did just that never seen something more obvious before getting on a plane what was gonna happen and We didn't have a stop for it a lot of people didn't AJ Have you ever played down here? Have you won down in this place? This place is like notoriously impossible to win Yeah, it's a super loud. I have not gotten a victory there I believe I know we got smoked in a Sunday night game there at one point and all I can remember yes is Drew Breeze seeing like he was unconscious and whatever they would ever Sean Peyton called into him seem to work like whatever Defense we tried to show him however you tried to confuse him pre snap post snap doesn't matter It was like he's reading your mail as coaches used to say and new But we're going to do and it felt like whatever you choose whatever we try to do they had an answer for it And they were just rolling in that crowd it is truly special once that crowd gets behind them Which they are the whole time especially when they get in lead in that offense is rolling It's it's damn near possible to win down there Yeah, they got all these characters right there's like a whistle and there's There's a trombone I believe and there's a sign and there's other I mean it's there's costumes. It's a party in here And they know ball they know when to be loud and when not to be loud and I think tonight Michael Penix welcome back, you know like hey This is life now in the NFC South for you Especially if Shuck and Kelly Moe are gonna have the boys being a good football team for the foreseeable future Okay, a lot of good football a lot of questionable football. There's top five headlines that we need to get to from the weekend Let's go top by top by top top Number five football is the greatest to one possession league I mean this when I say this and I tweeted this out yesterday It's like football is just awesome Honestly if you're any of these teams that ended up in one of these one-score games and we can throw the giants into this as well Because they had a pick six literally as a walkoff. Okay, they literally had to pick six as a walkoff Would have been a one-score game as well. It's just how can you not be excited for literally all four quarters of ball? There is fourth quarter come back seemingly every single time slot every single week and every single Football experience has something where you can hold on hope that your team won't be asked Ran available red zone channel yesterday Scott Hansen there was a time where there's four different things happening within a span of 11 minutes Yeah, 11 minutes. There was a third and 14. There was a this there was a this there was a and it's like how is football? So awesome all the time so I just kind of wanted to give a thank you to that But then there's a couple games that I think we need to talk about if there's gonna be this many one possession games And this many chances for massive comebacks. It's like your special teams has to be good You know what special team was special yesterday Jay hawk? Who's that? Can't say chiefs coach Todd. So obviously we talked about spagnolo on the defensive side He's a Hall of Famer and you read on the offensive side. He's a Hall of Famer Tobe special teams coordinator. He's a Hall of Famer as well if they put special teamers coordinators into the Hall of Famer He's been around forever a rise that has a fake point yesterday Okay, so Las Vegas says we don't do a re kick everyone's gonna be tired a rise it says Let's go ahead and collapse down the right side I'm a better athlete than people think I am. I'm fast get the edge take a big shot pop up how you doing? Remember in college, he was doing shit like they wanted him to win the Heisman in college Yeah, this guy he was kicking field goals He was kicking off. He was punting. He was running. He was throwing. He was catching. He was tackling this guy's freak show athlete I think people forget that because how low on the totem pole of athleticism a punters position is But the Raiders just collapse their entire side no edge no chance first done Can't let that happen in the game. It's gonna be a one possession game camp give up fake puns Okay, well how about a punch out on another pun can see chiefs had a punch out I'm sorry on a kickoff here a punch out and they create another turn over get on the ball It's like they can't see chiefs is absolutely swaddled the Raiders and special teams. This is a fourth quarter 3/4 team four point game It's like all these one possession games are gonna spotlight the little things on your team even more if you can What a punch One jump in here now, you know, it's good to run to the ball Great things happen when you run to the ball I took this like everybody's piling in there when something like that does happen you got to be able to capital Oh, yeah, and then last but not least before we reiterate the finer things being literally a winner A loss a super bowl or a fired from job a rise up on some down on one in the foot I mean this is one twenty six left into fourth up three Hey, you already got a fake punt and your special teams has a punch out already. What else are you gonna do? Let me just hit a perfect pun and and have the gunners do this. It's like okay, Kirk you got 50 yards you got a drive here okay to get in the field go arrange a tie this thing up good luck in your play sheets like this big So I think if there's gonna be this many one possession games a J I think you're gonna have to be able to play incredible special teams I think it's gonna be a real thing especially with how many more kicks are being covered and everything like that Agent absolutely. I think as the season moves on and I I'm a I'm a broken record talking about the elements We got to play outside when things like this happen if you're the Kansas City Chiefs You do you do need to rely on your special teams to help you win one or two games And this is one right here that we know like if their special teams doesn't come up huge and make multiple big plays Like there's a good chance that Raiders walk away with the win here and this is a rare situation where the chiefs got that ball in That situation they they stopped the clock a couple times with some incomplete passes Then it was a bad snap on third down something you almost never see from Andy Reed my home's operation and the special teams comes in Pins the Raiders back not essentially basically sells the game for him So I mean great great complimentary football rd. You want to talk about complimentary football? How about the Los Angeles Rams D-Butt? What a comeback win that was magical over there And he got a lot of people wondering if Cereonie should be the damn coach now and Philly yet again a lot of questions over their Shomic va actually had to get a monkey off his back. This is the one team He didn't have a victory against the cuz one is so maybe one victory against always getting their shit kicked in And there's something interesting that I saw from this game before we get to the players the coach rarely do you see a head coach Kind of rally the boys rally the squad on the sideline sometimes that's a coordinator Sometimes even a veteran player, but this paid off well for them. They kicked their ass out gained them by damn 300 yards 415 to 170 yards. Let's get to the actual tape Just see if some of these clips puking the cool made his presence felt he coming back got nine catches 125 obviously Matt Stafford doing his thing Kyron Williams got going just in all around team effort by a young strip Sack on the last I'll play the game on the flipside you talked about those questions for Cereonie those questions are coming from the offense Once again defense actually stepped up for him got a couple turnovers set the offense up to get some scores But the offense did not show up Jalen hurts 10 passing yards in the second half 93 Passing yards 37 dropbacks just absolutely cannot have it but on the flipside the Rams found a way to rally from 10 down and get a big big win on a Roce. Yeah, this is an unbelievable game from start to finish Unbelievable game. There's an unbelievable team down and do vol con man. Yeah, fantastic I mean the bangles we talked about after the first week being one of those teams like hey, they could go on a run the jacks for me I mean after yesterday going into sincerity getting a victory their offense and Trevor Lawrence and Liam Cohen get a lot of attention But their defense is unbelievable. They were down in the red zone a couple of times in the second half where you know Alluha Khan made a massive interception right on the red zone here Trevor Lawrence D But I said this before about certain quarterbacks when guys are throwing it in the ball leaves the screen sometimes you're not sure Is this going to be an interception is this going to be an absolute rope Trevor Lawrence has just been throwing ropes all over the Feel he was 18 to 23 basically every single ball he had seemingly was going right where it needed to be but their defense showed up You know, I mean, I know Joe borough had 400 plus past yards and T against in Jamar, you know, they unfortunately got hurt But alluha Khan here, you know right at the start of the fourth quarter with a red zone interception That was huge and then to end the game you know the bangles are driving down It looks like they're going to make you know the place that they need to win the game and then boom that hit right there to keep them out fourth down turn over jacks when the game jacks are super bull contenders. Whoa look out for them Yeah, they certainly aren't Travis Hunter is a certified number one DB it looks like DB this guy and then he shook the shit out of him I mean that is that's got to be one of the stiffest that I've seen in some time I mean just a full-on backpedal Explosion juke out of one of the most athletic guys in the league D But this Travis Hunter defense feels like the right spot for him Did we know this all along? This was gonna be the case and do we think there still be some packages for money off it You know there was a lot of questions about their idea of trying to make him play both ways and it's just tough It's a reason I think what we haven't seen anyone do it I think if he focused on either offense or Defense primarily he could be an all-pro either position. He's been doing it in a corner They've actually been rotating at corner everybody into that back imps and playing great But I think this is kind of the beginning of Travis Hunter got his first pick last week against the Patres this when I believe got caught back with just unbelievable athleticism and we always say it picks coming bunches So I think we may just see 12 making play and play and play in every week now But yeah, I'm excited about his future at cornerback right now in the fill Okay, D. Buck, quick question from me Travis Hunter He put on some weight. Would that be to play DB? Do you think he knew coming in? He's probably gonna be playing a little bit more DB than wide receiver or that be for both positions I think both positions. I think it's just about durability You know, you want to put on low extra sheath and low extra layer of muscle. Typically you see a god of guys I guess hit their peak in college You know physically you probably put on you know 15 20 pounds if you're a cornerback wide receiver He waited. I guess until he got into the league So I'm loving what he's doing in the weight room and you love to see that with guys show up from in all season You can just look at them and say okay. I can see the work you've been putting in I love to see that but health health is everything with Travis Hunter's long He stays on the field continue gets reps. He will continue to get better He looked phenomenal whenever he showed up to the Jags camp CJ Stroud looked the way that everybody judged. We don't get into that right now. Was that his early sign? Oh and for only one other team in the history has been able to go from Owen Ford to the playoffs Maybe the Houston Texans are next there's four teams currently looking to potentially do that that there's also a Super Bowl champion returning team that had a chance to play against a team that is going to complete opposite direction that we thought, whenever you talk about 0 and 4, AJ, what the hell is up with the chargers? Or is this more, hey, good for the Seahawks? >> I don't, I think this was kind of a weird game. The chargers come into town, Pat, I don't know if you know this. The first play of the game, Justin Herbert throws a pick. Next play, Sam Donor comes in, boom, throws a pick. The game was kind of up and down back and forth. I mean, Seattle jumps out to an early lead. They were playing very well. The chargers were actually down 27-6 in the third quarter here. They find a way to fight back. Justin Herbert, at one point, I thought was done for the day. He took a nasty shot to the ribs, his buddy and his alignment helps him up. I'm thinking, all right, what are you going to do here? You're going to have to get your backup going. I believe Trey Lance is out there. They're showing him a little bit and Herbert comes back to the very next play. Had a chance to throw the ball away, had a chance to use Scramble and he went and took another shot. The guy, it was a real gritty, gutty performance. I think Jim Hartwell even said that afterwards. I was thinking, honestly, watching this. I thought, if the chargers pull this game out, this is one of those games you point to and you say, hey, this is one of our season turned around. This is when we finally figured it out and we did all the things that we needed to do and come from behind win on the road against defending Super Bowl champs. But the Super Bowl champs and the Super Bowl champs for a reason. They found a way to buckle down. Also, there was 30 penalties in this game. 16 on the chargers, 14 on the Seattle Seahawks, which is just unheard of. I'd love to go through with a fine tooth comb and see which ones are garbage, which ones are not. I'm not exactly sure. But the chargers had a chance, a minute 30, a minute 40 left and Seattle comes back. They were only down one score, Seattle sat cause fumble game over. Here we go. The champs are the champs. But yeah, kind of a messy game, a dirty game. I know both coaches are not super happy, but Seattle gets a win. So yeah, I mean, Seahawks 3 and 1, Chargers 0 and 4, Jim Harbaugh being asked about McDaniel's future, saying we got a lot of skill players and I'm excited for their growing coaches. I'm excited for their growth. Awkward silence. So are you firing a guy or no, no, no, no, I think he's talented. I think he needs to continue to build. But on that note, with what we expected him to be like with Herbert versus what it has been, I don't like it one bit. I don't like it one bit tie. And we saw Herbert. We think he's happy. He's definitely happy. He's happy. Of the field. Herbert. It's a kind of 31, 1931, 189 yards. This is that line. TD 200ceptions plus 40 rush yards. It's like, I was expecting him to go for four, now Seahawks defense, obviously. Let's have some respect. Sure. Yeah, please. We will. Let's please have some respect for the Seahawks defense. I am trying to do that in real time while also saying, what the hell? It's a tie. I thought Herbert and McDonnell were about the change of McDonnell were about to change the entire NFL in the way off. And so look, remember, McDonnell told us he's got to, you know, do the next chess move. Got to do the next chess move. What is it? Is this Herbert tie? Is this McDonnell, your thoughts on what we expected versus what has come to fruition? And they got 13 more games left. Can they still save it tie? No, I do not think they can save it. We've talked about how tough their schedule is moving forward. You have the chief sitin at 4-0 and the Raiders at 3-1 in their division. The Broncos aren't exactly a bunch of slouches either. I don't know if you can blame it on either one of them. Obviously, you know, McDonnell's, he did what he did with two. And I think everyone just assumed, hey, wait until he gets his hands on Herbert. But Herbert, this has kind of just always been, you know, the thing we, we know how talented he is. We've always wanted to see him kind of do it in the big spots. But this year, it's been weird. A lot of people have been saying, hey, he's uncomfortable in this offense. He doesn't really know where he's supposed to go with the ball yet. And he's never like been, he's never been a raw, raw guy. He's never really been like, hey, I need to find the camera. But I tell you what, his body language has been terrible this year. Like, it's almost like he's going out there saying, like, I don't trust what we're trying to do, but I'm going to go do it anyway. And it clearly isn't working. They always have the injury issues, you know, I, I don't think anyone thought that, you know, losing their center early in the year would be this big of a death sentence. We saw how much it affected coach our ball. Maybe that was just kind of a storm cloud that rolled over the entire, you know, Charger's facility and hasn't left. But I don't, I mean, at this point, any, any type of kind of positive movement forward would maybe be a win, but you start own forward with that division with that schedule. Unfortunately, I think the Charger's may be dead already at the start, I told her here. Oh, no, I don't like that. I had such high hopes, actually, I had such high hopes for them, for us as a daily sports show, for Herbert, for everything we know he could be, for McDain, who everything we know he could be, for Jim Harball, but his daughter being gone that day was potentially a indicator of everything that was to come. Remember one team has been able to go from home for the playoff. So we think these teams can still do it. Hey, come on. Come on. Wow. Oh, no. Yeah. Maybe luck. Come on, guys. Let's do a little bit of that. All right. Let's talk about a team that started out. Absolute shite that we had high hopes for. How about the Patskin, a huge win over to Bill's con, man? Good for you. That was another close one in high mark. I'm happy that you're finding some happiness, hopefully out of this because boy, your dober was way done. I mean, Red Sox lose to the Yankees, who knows what the hell is going on with the Bruins. You know, there was a big storm, I think, like everything was kind of down a bar in Boston for a bit. But, shit, I think con man had his dober way done. How do we feel now? Do we feel good after the way we've responded after the first couple of weeks? Yeah. My dober's bricked up. I got dunk in this morning just to kind of feel the entire New England region kind of coursing through my veins once again. It was a massive win. You know, AJ talked about how the Chargers could have had a season defining win in Seattle. This is a season defining win for the Patriots in Buffalo's back to back years now where they go in there, come back late drive from Drake May, this one to Efton Chisholm, who we all know and love. He's the next West Welker Julian element, a hard hat, lunch, pale guy and amons all out. What do you mean? Amondola? You could throw in there. He didn't really start with New England kind of. Yeah, I guess he, you know what? Yeah. We'll throw Amondola in there as well, but Chisholm might be damn near the best one out of all of them. This one. Wow. Unbelievable from Efton Chisholm. The third. All respect to Julian Edelman. I won't go that far. The central Hall of Famer. It's just a Hall of Famer. Super Bowl MVP. Fantastic player. But Efton Chisholm showing up in a big spot and that's what's so big about this one. You know, Matt Collins. He got hurt mid game. He stepped up. Krishan Gonzalez, Krishan Barmore, both of those guys, they were out for the entire game. We had guys stepping up all across the field. Here's one of the most, oh no, Mr. Sack. What are we doing to? Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Pick, baby. This game's over. It was remarkable. It didn't or lost my voice because I was screaming so loud for Chisholm and then for Craig Woodson who missed last week's game to come back and make this play. It's just fantastic today to be a Patriots fan and this will turn around the season in the Patrick Back, baby. Let's go. Good for you. Good for ball. I'm sure everybody's excited that Patriots fans are going to be back in our lives being confident about their team, not be an absolute shite. Debut, are you buying the Patriots after a win yesterday? Oh. Yeah, I'm buying them. I'm buying them. I mean the win was huge. There was a lot of questions. Everybody was talking about Drake, man, his regressions, but I trust the players in that building. I trust the coach. They got a good coaching staff as well. So yeah, if I'm buying stock, like you guys doing game down, buying stock and the Patriots for sure. Hey, we did that this past weekend. That's the first time we've had to do that. You know, if you buy it, you're going to sell it then. And I don't, I already have to do enough that puts me in quite a situation with a lot of different people. So I just want to pick. That just felt like the easiest one. Yeah. Sure. The players has a couple of sick gifts out there, you know, a couple of great quotes. Everybody loves them. I'll go ahead and sell that. Buying the stock of the Patriots though, fun to think about, you know, especially with the teams that we have around the league. And how about buying stock in James Winston, AJ at this stage of his life? Malik neighbors going into yesterday, not great. Malik neighbors now career day, how we doing, keeping moving, James and him got to figure it out. Then you have James Winston giving post games interview, saying Philippians 413. Is that what he said? You would know better. Do we know which Philippians it was? Exactly. Do you want things? Yeah, I believe. Yeah. 413 would be, yeah, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Nice. No, so that wasn't that one. It was another Philippians because I think what James was thinking, there was Philippians doesn't get enough credit. Everybody thinks he only has one bar. He's got it. Oh, yeah. Sure. Okay. I can see that. It's several. He said something about looking forward moving on and then he tied it all back together. And it was a classic James Winston. I mean, but I think he was getting interviewed by a deity. He said the James Winston experience happened today. I think you had three touchdowns, two picks. I mean, this is what it is. And then he drops a bar in the post game interview. Is this perfect for New York and New Jersey? Do we hate this? I think I love it, AJ. I think this is the perfect outcome with what happened to Jackson Dart. Obviously, we wish he was healthy. But an entire season, potentially, of James Winston football, just back to what he was with the box, maybe, with the giants, electrifying in my eyes. And they get a huge win over a good Arizona Cardinals team, AJ. Yes. And this throw right here down the seam going into halftime was a huge play for this team. And that's the thing. Like, James, yeah, I love it because at least it's going to be fun. Like, at least we're going to have a good time watching New York football giants team. I know Bruce has got a lot going on behind the glass. I am sure Bruce was rocked up seeing this game happen because I still believe the Arizona Cardinals are solid football team. I know some people are starting to write them off. I think there's still a very good team. I know there's stuff going on. Tremac, Brian, the ref, all that. We'll get into it. But for James, like, we know there's always going to be something. Like, either it's going to be awesome, or it's going to be really, really bad, most likely. And James is going to be the heart of it and he's going to be leading them to some victories. I don't know how many that may be, but we're going to have fun watching. So, volatile. - I'll stop. I'll take them. - I'll stop. - Yes it is. - You're right. - You're all out of the house. - He also went to the top of this. You mentioned it Pat. The multiple touchdowns, multiple interceptions. He's at the top of that list all the time. - Oh no. - When it comes to all the quarter. - No, hey congrats and thank you. - Thank you. - Congrats and thank you for that. Picture exciting, touchdowns are exciting. James says I got you on all front. Just like Jesus. Always, always here for you, which we appreciate. And then game of the weekend down in Texas. I mean congrats to CD Lamb going absolutely crazy. - Yup. - And also George Pickens going absolutely absurd. Dak Prescott going insane. Houston Texans put up a great fight. Now they're another own four team. You know that is, I don't love that, but obviously maybe they become that. But Dak Prescott, CD Lamb, George Pickens in his offense and an absolute dog fight. Historic day actually for CD Lamb D, but what did you see from this Dallas Cowboys? That made you say, yeah, I'm a believer long term. Or what did you see that say? They're gonna score 60 points to beat everybody maybe. I mean, I'm always a believer in a quarterback. I can play like Dak is playing and operating right now. You talk about CD Lamb, he's in the conversation. I think right now with J.S.M. for the best wide receiver in ball. I know he got his money a few years ago, but he's been playing unbelievable. George Pickens on the other side of the offense, that helps with that. But he got open. I think 17 catches, 189 yards in the touchdown. Just unbelievable. It was a go-to guy all throughout this game. They were down 10. Fall had a game winning drive. I believe 11 plays, 75 yards. CD Lamb was a big, big part of that. So yeah, I have all the faith in the world in that offense. Now, defense still some things to figure out. 'Cause C.J. Strider, I think he had a decent day. Nico Collins, two touchdowns. C.J. Strider's playing better than the record. The defense for the Texas is the question. And we'll get into that a little bit later. But yeah, the Cowboys ruined the celebration. And Houston had celebrated their 25 years and all the legends there. Just a big, big time game by the Dallas Cowboys. C.D. Lamb and Dak press got. C.D. said he's unguarded, but what's he supposed to say? Yeah, that's like when they asked Joe Flacco if he thinks he's elite. It's like, yeah, I don't know. I didn't pay me $100 million. I want a Super Bowl. I think it's pretty fucking elite compared to who. Like a high school quarterback or like, how do you want me to look at that? CD, are you guardable? Nah. And I don't think there's a single wide receiver that's ever played in the NFL. The things they're guardable, but CD might not be. Especially with George Pickens on the other side. The fact that they can both eat great news. George Pickens obviously playing on a franchise tag. In town, I don't know if you saw 24 snaps, one par get zero reception, zero yards or something like that for Joey Porter Jr. for the Dallas Cowboys. Tony, how do you feel about that whole outcome? Yeah, he's a very, very good quarterback. I'm very happy for him that he's down there playing on the same contract that he could have been playing on with Pittsburgh Steelers. So I'm pretty pumped to see what he did yesterday. Yeah, I'm sure you are. A lot of Pittsburgh Steelers fans have very relaxed reactions to Joey Porter, senior, put on a video support and he's son, you know, I follow him yesterday. We done boys. Do you have follow Joey Porter? Just son. Yeah, I don't need to be seeing that. I don't need all my time. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care that he's doing it. It's fine. I don't need to be seeing it. Don't need to be rubbing it in my face. He's not rubbing it in your face. He's just putting his support in his voice. It's over in his voice. Listen, I don't leave the track them away. I don't follow any of my exes on Instagram. OK? Smart. What about their dads? That means it. All right. OK. They came from his bullseye. All right. Yeah. Gums have a good time over here. Look at his guy. Oh, wait. That's not gums. Shit. I had to put you back on the side. I had Archie Manning there. I'll fit to get that figured out. OK. Let's go to the next headline. Shall we? Number four. Hey. Rest. An injuries. Enough. OK. Like this is. We're done with it. Mm-hmm. How many penalties? 233 or something? 13 accepted penalties in the Bangle's Jags first half. Yes, they are. Now, remember the big conversation is that Jets had 32 total plays. 16 accepted penalties in the first half of Jaguars' bangle's. That's unwatchable. That is actually unwatchable. You know what I would watch, though? I might watch the NFL a little bit more if the reps are just going to walk around town everybody. I might actually do that. I know there's been quite a reaction from JC Treter in the NFL PA because they are sticking up for their player. And the players are obviously getting stuff a lot of time. But this ref telling Tramik Bride the best tight end in ball. George Kidd will certainly have a conversation with that, obviously, immediately soon. Very quick. And Travis, obviously, still there. But this ref telling Tramik Bride number 99 rating on Madden. One of the stars of our game just fuck you multiple times. I know people don't like it maybe. I love it. I am a huge advocate of this because you got to the complete opposite end in spectrum. Vabel gets a personal file for saying like something that is said by coaches and players to refs all the time. All the time. Now, refs and coaches and players are all on the field together. They're all in the same mindset. Obviously, respect has to be shown to the refs. And the refs have the ability to kind of handle the sword at any given time that they want. Obviously on the field knows that. But we're all adults here. We're all professionals here. We all understand that sometimes there's going to be some mistakes in heady moments. And I think a lot of refs deal with it on a very regular basis, which is why I don't mind an FU or two coming back, you know, just like how NHL refs operate because there's players and coaches talking to refs like this all the time. But Mike Vabel getting boxed out by the sticks guy and then also reaching around to make sure you can hear that. Hey, just to make sure you can hear what he's saying, I think what he said, I mean, I don't think this should be a flag. And if we're going to throw a flag on this type of stuff, just like when Jonathan Taylor's doing tea, like, you're going to find a lot of things they're throwing a flag at. So I'm okay with the ref talent training pride that because I don't know what those two are going through at that particular time. But I'm not okay with the ref throwing the flag at what Vabel did. I think we just need to understand, like, hey, this is the communication process that is going to probably happen in professional sports with billions of dollars on the line with humans trying to make decisions in real time. So that's where I'm at, AJ, I don't know where you are in this entire thing. That's where I'm at on those two particular cases. You can also hit how many flags there were yesterday. It was pretty disgusting to watch some of these games. 16 in the first half. Come on. Get some of those Cincinnati. Yeah, that's just way too many. But also if you're going to start flagging people for language, where do you draw the line? What cuss word is bad enough to draw a flag? Is there a thing I have to write this up in the rulebook now, like, that's what I would like to read. Or if you get fined for this stuff, okay, type it up in my fine letter and let me know why this crossed the line. I understand you don't want to show anybody up. That's the thing. You don't want to show anybody up in front of all, like, ref to player to ref. But I just don't know what, is it your mood, is it the how, like, how much energy is in the stadium at the time? Like, what makes this a flag? I just don't, I don't, 100% get it. I don't know if we will. Have we gotten any kind of, you know, clarification on this? I know if Raible has said this is something I've said 87 times before to other refs. And it's never been a flag. But for some reason, this time it was. But D-Bot kind of leads to my point. I'm okay with that ref saying that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, because the players and coaches are saying this a lot. But I do wish there was a more of an understanding like the NHL has. Yeah. D-Bot. Yeah. Like the NHL, the ref's chirp, the players, players chirp ref, we're all on this ice together. I just think there should be a little bit more, I think we, I hate both of these things happening the way that they kind of unfolded D-Bot. You always say as a fan, especially, you don't want refs to be a part of the conversation really when you're watching the game. Now this is back-to-back. On our top five of the refs has been in the conversation. Yeah. Even as players, we have those meetings with coaches. They'll kind of give us the lead or the land of whichever ref crew we were going to have that week. And I know you was a specialist in like quarterbacks coaches. You guys really have a closer relationship with the different referees. I know it's a D-B. I was always trying to find that back, judges, you know, dap him up, love him up, he'll behave. You're going to let the boys play the day, right? And then you try to butter him up that way. You rarely see the opposite side of that like with trademark bride. It's going to be interesting to see how this unfolds as the season goes on because you know the legal price and out in the memo or something to the teams. But I'm interested yet. But I'm like you, I don't have a problem with these refs showing personalities. Yeah. At all. I'll tell you, I didn't expect any of these refs to ever say that because they're all the type of personality that seemingly becomes a ref is just really scolding like, you know. Like I think that's the type of personality most of these people have are out there. And we're not saying they're not important and we don't like them or respect them. But it's like, come on, consistency is all we're asking for, we win the best for them. I will continue to ask for these rest because they're very important, especially whenever that negotiation was happening, it's like, hey, we can't, these are, we know they mess up a lot and sometimes they get a little flag happy and who knows what they're being told by the league about what type of league we want to have, you know, which certainly has happened in the past. But it's like that, that whole variable saying, I've said that 87 times to somebody just makes me think like, I'm okay with refs responded. And JZ Trader has to say that is the NFLPA executive director, but I think there'd be a lot better game maybe if that happened more often, where everybody was kind of on the same page. Now, let's talk about the injuries, man, man, Broodikes, I thought you that Thornton thing was disgusting. Anytime there's a dislocation, obviously it's disgusting. We will not show it here. I did not talk to Bruce about that. We will not be running that here because I don't want to see it. If you want to see it, it's somewhere it's all over the internet. I don't like any type of dislocation. And the fact that he was such a clean kind of pool there that EDM knows happened and tried to stand up disgusting, obviously pooling for him, sorry about that and all these guys. Lamar Jackson, he's quoted, I think, to play a couple of different times now with a couple of different emojis. I don't know what that means, but he left the game, say, Quan Barkley leaves games, Lamar Chase has a concussion, he leaves game T Higgins has an ad doctor, he leaves the game, all the usage. Gleeves game Joe on leaves game Naylor leaves game Edger and Cooper. Yeah, Rishi everybody everybody leaves the game These are some star studded injury reports all of a sudden happening and we're only after week four You know, and all this leads back to another game being added to the season another game being added a schedule I don't know if Guys are gonna be able to survive. AJ. Why do you think is there more injuries now than we've ever seen before is it for bigger star players Which is why we're recognizing like has it always been this way? And why do you think it is because there's obviously the old head Thought where it's like well these guys aren't cows because they're not hitting enough What do you think AJ cuz some of these things obviously like a dislocated ankle? You can't really control that yeah Some of them are just like unlucky. We know there's some things you can't really avoid their unlucky But I've been trying to come up with a theory as to why there are these so many injuries like is it are we just aware of it now Because the internet because we pay attention to everything and there's so many I guess there's more star players now Than before in our mind. Yeah, I honestly, I'm not sure. I don't want to be the old guy says oh these guys don't hit and trying to camp You know back in the day turning camps eight weeks long and they're killing each other sure like I don't think that's the answer That's not what we should go back to but I don't know if the surface is I don't know if people are specialized too much And you're not you know, I think sometimes that is a thing and young kids where you get specialized in a certain vein a certain Sport and movements and then I think sometimes you can open yourself up to different injuries like that But honestly, I really don't know and I don't I haven't heard anyone else's theory that I am like okay Yeah, that makes sense cuz I just don't know deep about it. It's like he may have something No, I definitely don't have and I'll be interested the numbers I guess the data from like a him boy or Pagan Eddie or somebody like that who has the numbers But it's a violent game. It's a violent game injuries going to happen. I was talking to it I was talking about this with the boys earlier like it seems like every like every weekend now college in pro You see like some disgusting injury like every every weekend is like four or five or a stretcher coming out It's like damn. It's a violent game. That's the bad part of it when you see names like that I think the overall awareness the overall clicks tweets, you know the best the fantasy teams all these things that are Impacted we just more aware of it. So I'll be interested to see what the data says through four weeks over the last I say 10 or 15 years But it's a violent game and it's a hundred percent injury rate. It just goes on how bad the injury is gonna be and sometimes that's just a quarter of an Venture of fall or weight or something like that. It sucks man, especially when it's the stars Yeah, certainly don't like seeing the stars out. Hopefully everybody gets healthy and we see them back as soon as possible Let's go to number three headline here. Hey, there's a level of being a menace that we haven't seen from the head coaching ranks at the NFL Happening right in front of her eyes up there and the monster of the mid midway. Hey, Ben Johnson is hilarious Absolutely hilarious. Obviously I thought And I'm saying I'm saying that because I said it pretty loudly if a guy goes for three touchdowns and in his first start after a thousand some days I assume you're gonna continue to play that guy But then Ben Johnson comes out and says like well Tyson Beijing lost his position because of injury like that's on how I do things like if you get healthy You go back to who your spot is and then everybody was projecting on who he was starting I guess and he said okay, that's cool. I'm gonna start both guys He has case canem and Tyson Beijing out on the field at the same exact time for the first play of the game Obviously one lined up at wide receiver Case canem lined up at a quarterback. He doesn't inside pitch gets off the field They both have a start now under their belts for this particular game Tyson Beijing gets a huge win goes absolutely crazy. They dominate Absolutely Dominate the New York Jets They're talking time of possession things that we haven't seen or heard from before I mean double the amount of for or same amount of first downs as plays for the New York Jets I mean that's insane to just kind of think about and Swift doesn't do what Monongai is the guy So my takeaway from this particular routing even though the score wasn't completely absurd It's like the reason why Ben Johnson was the bell of the ball is because his system if you have great players Obviously all these guys are great players, but we assume you should make it to the unfair your great player His system is going to score no matter who's in there. It's almost like the position as opposed to the player and I'm a big-time Players make plays and that's why teams are good thing Ben Johnson I genuinely believe us no disrespect to Monongai no disrespect to case canem and certainly no disrespect to Tyson Beijing who certainly showcased that he was an NFL caliber quarterback out of West Virginia Absolute stud of a man, but it's like this Ben Johnson guy if he had to if he had gumpy as his quarterback Okay, if he had that guy right there is his quarterback. I think he would figure out somehow How to win a game? I mean it's it's unbelievable what he's able to do Deep but I know that when I say that it sounds I don't mean it to be disrespectful at all But this is just like when a quarterback has a bunch of weapons outside and he'll never get enough credit because the weapons are so good Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like it's hard for me to fully comprehend how Ben Johnson can just get any team seemingly to win And you know, we got a super genius and Indy we just our quarterback didn't play a great game We still win and beef commanders buy a lot, but Ben is special man I don't understand how he is like this and how everybody else is it what is it debug? I mean a lot a lot and you know when it comes to professional athletes like you said everybody out there is good all the coaches are good Like confidence is so huge when it comes to any level of sports But especially professional sports you see the best player in the world But these quarterbacks why receivers tight in offensive linemen running backs. They know when their number is called my coach is going to put me in the right position So I just have to show up and make that play I'm a big believer in good players make great coaches because all the great coaches of all time They all had great players whether it's billwashed billbelly check Andy re you know whoever it is You're going to need some great players to get you over the top and actually win championships and this right now We're talking about the Bears winning games and I love how petty Ben Johnson is with him taking notes of what everyone's saying in the media But come you know the third quarter of the season week 10 week 12 on you're not going to have a book on these guys Because Caleb is going to be back healthy and it's going to be a completely different place going into that playoff push Get ready to play the game So I mean it's tremendous what they're doing winning games now But I'm interested to see how much even more it will help them down the stretch But you know I've been a big fan of Ben Johnson big fan of Caleb. What he's doing with Baygent and Case Kingdom as I'm believing here Yeah, shout out to Chicago Bears being great potentially for the next 30 years because I assume Ben will be able to evolve Through it all it's got the number two headline shall we there is absolute studs in the NFL right now that aren't quarterbacks that could potentially be In the MVP conversation team at goes insane last night. Okay. Absolutely insane. Didn't start out great goes crazy last night K9 this guy's changed the entire Kansas City Chiefs offense Change the entire seemingly aura of the team Patrick Mahomes doesn't have his best night Kansas Walker says don't worry. I got you and then CD lamb breaks records on the offense side 17 catches 16 catches I forget what the final number was 17. Maybe that's an absolutely insane stat T-Mac not only big-time touchdown But there was a third and 14 catch on the sideline in the fourth quarter. That was just Outrageous. I mean Bryce Young puts it on a line. That guy's playing it crazy as well. Shout out to Bryce Young Finding his way. He gets benched within the last two years has to watch somebody else play his position gets back in Leads them to a home playoff game places packed out and now there's real energy and hope that the Panthers might be a great football team Not just a good football team and it could be great if T-Mac continues to cook like that Kenneth Walker K9. What a great nickname. Okay, first of all great nickname And what a style to join alongside Patrick Mahomes Travis Kelsey and then also Eric B enemy who said he want to run through somebody's face It's what he said. I won't run through a mother was face. It's what well Kenneth Walker will do that for you Radio said to eat some of that and then CD lamb. We already hit on this a J He's absurd and that's what George Pickens have in a monster day as well There's some talent around this league right now a J that aren't just quarterbacks that could be an MVP discussion first time long time I think all three of these guys could absolutely you'll work their way into the MVP discussion But as far as watching Kenneth Walker the third run the ball D But he reminds me sometimes when you see like say you're watching a seventh grade football game And there's one kid who has a mustache and his legs are hairy He's gone through puberty and he's just dominating people and he cannot be tackled like that's what times what he feels like They just watch how cops you have to beat like make all these moves stop and starting and it takes nine dudes to bring you down Like I think that energizes the whole team And I just I put myself in their shoes as a defender. Yeah, I'm like, I don't know what to do on this guy You go low. He's gonna you try to take him out low He's gonna his knees going right through your temple and you're gonna be out for four weeks with a concussion and possible brain damage for the rest of your life So I just don't know it's it's gonna take all 11 to get this guy down and when he is healthy And he's running like this and you compliment him with patch of my homes and everything else they have like things are looking up I shouldn't be legal for patch my homes and the chiefs get a Super Bowl MVP fresh in his prime And he's unbelievable. He's already set a record I believe through four games now with rush yards and then the thing we always talk about the ball is program God never fumbles So you talk about a guy never fumbles guys as explosive he can hit the home run plays and the past game in the run game And then he's forced 43 missed tackles to your point the next closest person to Jameer gives a 28 So just think about that. So guys are in position you block it up Maybe you leave one or two guys on block nine is gonna take care of him Just get down feeling blocked somebody else. So he's been unbelievable and the pair that with my homes now There are some injuries on the outsides. We'll see who they'll sign or how they'll adjust But I just been unbelievable for any reading Eric being in me and then my homes and K now what he's brought to that building Yeah, Drew Rosenhouse is snooping around Rosenhouse is saying Tyree kill might be coming back soon He's been looking good be a good time for the Kansas chiefs to pick up another Explosive weapon as they continue to try to build upon the dynasty if they have and then the number one headline out of the weekend is the best or out west. Just talked about the chiefs in K9 and then the San Francisco 49ers. What is the deal? They had to go to Australia, everybody said, myself included. What a tough distraction to start this entire season. They go out a week ahead of time, become Australia's team almost. Do some tours, get in their lifestyle, eat some Vegemite, have a Faustas Australian Faberus 10 and I don't know if Australians actually drink that. Then they come back and they get better. And this dude Brock Purdy is in the MVP conversation since week one. I feel like he is finally getting some credit as opposed to everybody trying to pick apart his game. Debo Samuel looks like he took a trip back in time and George Kittle fresh off in the killies. Yeah, right. He was on, he wasn't, it goes for 59 yards right here as a 100 year old man coming off of here to killies and then he mentions afterwards, it's nice to run away from a former teammate like that who was obviously chasing him down. This Niners team, and we have respect for the Broncos, is Niners team special. And if they can remain healthy, which is obviously always the problem with the Niners, they are a problem for everybody. Joining us now is Senior NFL Insider for ESPN. A man who has more information on all these topics than we do, ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schaefter. Yes, FFD. What's going on, guys? FFD. Hey, great to see you. Thank you for joining us here. As we wrap up our top five, top five, top five. We just ended it there with Niners being the team that is obviously unbeatable at this particular moment, and then also the Kansas City Chiefs, who are also four-no. Now, we left the Vikings out, because I think they have the least amount of touchdowns of undefeated team in the history of ball or something like that. Kevin O'Connell needs to figure that out. Shout the B-flow. I mean-- Shout out B-flow. What a start to the season. They're on defense aside. Let's start with the Chiefs, though. Their son and Tyree Kill, is now over here and right now, and what about Thornton's injury that kind of either makes us feel happier optimistic or devastated about what happened? Well, it was a gruesome injury. You feel terrible when that happens. His foot was totally turned sideways. He dislocated his ankle. They're going to go in today to determine exactly how long he'll be out. We'll see if he can make it back this season. I think that's very much up in the air, but Tyree Kill is somebody that had been out there. They had been talking to him anyway. He's getting back in shape. It may be a little bit here before he's ready to play. I'm told it's weak to weak. Could be right at any point. People have to remember he's coming off a devastating injury himself, and he's going to need some time to ramp up, which he's been doing. But the Chiefs have always made the most sense. His agent, Drew Rosenau, said today that he's going to start negotiating with multiple teams today, this is what he said, and that he expects to have a deal here in the next few days. It sounds like Tyree Kill will have a new home this week. Nobody would be surprised if it was in Kansas City. That's the one that makes the most sense. Players would love to have him back there. He's been there before. It will be a fitting way to kind of bring closure to your career, make it full circle experience. I think to me they are probably the favorite, but Drew says he's talking to a few different teams here. Okay. Agent has a question for you, Chefty. Chefty, I don't want to say like anyone's on the hot seat or anything, but like when it comes to the ASTM heartball about Mike McDaniel, it says OC, and it's kind of, you know, a weird answer, I guess. Are we going to see any coordinators, you think, you know, get moved on during the season? We've seen some in-game college coordinators, you know, kick rocks. Yeah. Yeah, well, listen, now that we've entered October, I think you always have the possibility that you're going to start to see some changes. It hasn't happened yet, but every, there, there always are a few of those in season. We see, you know, a head coaching job or two changes. You know, you look at the Charger staff, Jim Harboss acts again. He wasn't doing anything with Mike McDaniel. He had no plans to fire him. This is what he said on October 4th. We'll see whether he stands by that or not. But you look at the staff. It's like, well, who's going to take over? Like Adam Gace is the passing in coordinator. You want Adam Gace? To passing at the offense. Yeah, you have to say, okay, we're going to fire this guy. Who are you going to hire? Right? That's Adam Gace, right? Adam Gace is this guy? Yeah. Yeah. At that Jets. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he's jacked up. He's got those big wide eyes. You know, he's, he's, don't shoot until you see the wide sea eyes. Adam Gace will be shot from two miles away. Let's move along. A lot of conversation about him being a failure at the Jets. Him being a new offense coordinator over McDaniel will certainly be something. That has been a problem, though, with Justin Herbert in them. Like, we had such high expectations. Yeah. We had such high expectations for this team. And they're just absolutely crappin' now. And obviously Seahawks are Super Bowl champions, so I don't want to put that down at all. Incredible win by them. Defense is phenomenal at what they do. I just, I'm bummed out about the Chargers. Now, there is some things that could be electrifying the breaking our timelines here momentarily. We already saw Joey Porter Jr. get traded. Yesterday, before Sunday, countdown, you put a list out of potential trade people. Digs has a question for you about that. Yes, you have to, especially like with the surprise, own four teams that we talked about, like the Chargers and the Texans and others and the teams that are already potentially out of the playoff race. Are there any teams or any players right now that you're kind of checking in on that you think potentially could get traded here, you know, before the trade deadline? Well, I think what you have to do is you have to look at the teams that haven't been winning. And, you know, the teams that are going for like the Chargers, Khalil Mac, last year of his contract. Now, I'm not telling you, they're not looking to trade Khalil Mac. But as we get closer to the November 10th trade deadline, about a month from now, if those losses are piling up, and there's a team that needs a pass rusher and calls the Chargers on Khalil Mac, who deals up after the year, why would you not go send him somewhere if you can get something back for him, Marvin Harrison, in a situation where I know there are teams checking him out because they've asked me about him. So, they're doing their due diligence on Marvin Harrison, Tony Pollard, similar situation to Khalil Mac, where he's in the last year of his contract. So, if there's a team in the next month, whoever that is, all of a sudden needs a running back on a winning team. A contender loses a running back. To me, the first team they're going to call is Tennessee. Okay, what do you want for Tony Pollard? Jerry Judy. The Browns have Denzel Boston case, the conception, these young receivers. If there's a contender, let's say Kansas City. They don't get Tyree Kill. He goes somewhere else or another team doesn't get Tyree Kill. You call Cleveland, you offer some kind of pick. Get Jerry Judy, and Josh Sweat, like, that's been going on with him for a while now. The idea that he could be dealt, and you know, if Arizona loses some games here, maybe they could get an attractive enough pick that they would be willing to deal him. A big time pass rusher, where 12 sacks last year. These are some names. Now, again, you watch the teams like Tampa. The Bucks have them one. Okay, so if I'm an opposing GM, I'm scouring the Buccaneers roster. I'm saying, who's in the last year of their deal? Who's a veteran guy that costs a lot of money that I would like to add to my roster? Let's go give Tampa some draft compensation. You know, it, it land to look different with Michael Penex. They, they look terrible up until last week. So let's see if they keep it up tonight on Monday night football. If they can't, maybe you look at their Falcons roster for some players. But you're looking at these teams that have underachieved so far that are going to fall out of the playoff picture here in the next month that have guys in the last year of their deal. That are paying or making a lot of money. And those are guys to watch here over the next month. This is, this is a group of names that make sense logical, not saying that any of these guys will be traded, although I think in the end by the time the trade deadline works around some of them will. Who, who's calling on Marvin Harrison junior? Hmm. I'll look at you a few feet about that. Colts, Colts are calling get him back. Wouldn't that be, wouldn't that make a lot of sense? Let me see that. Okay, so that's a yes. Anybody else? Who else? New England. New England. New England's calling them. Kenzie Chiefs. They don't get to read these guys calling you Buffalo Beels. Oh, the Buffalo deals. Maybe Joe Brady gets another weapon. They call you. Chef to you. They call you texting you. Face time. Bruce has been. Bruce has been texting calling me. Namely Bruce Brown. Bruce Brown. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Also, he played. Who's, who's Bruce Brown? Who's he played for now? Is he back on the nuggets? Yeah. New York is on his training camp contract. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I didn't know. I didn't know you had basketball stuff, too. That's crazy. Chefty. Love that. Love that. We talked earlier that you'll get you the last night. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We saw him. It's outrageous. And it does feel like. People say his off seasons. He doesn't care. He just goes and watches. Oh, that's crazy. Three guys. Three guys just said, yeah, right. He's trying that. And then it just gets over there. Obviously. Joker is a weapon. But I liked that the combo is darning off season. This guy doesn't pay attention to basketball at all. It's like, okay, that's not real. This guy's got to be working all the time on everything. How can he be that big, that athletic, that clean, that confident without just working your ass off? And I think that's a part of the story that we'll find out later whenever he's done about his work ethic. Because I don't know how somebody can just that obliviously confident unless you work your ass off. That is absurd. I've spoken to my sources about him. And he's come into training camp in the best shape of his career. I know they love to say that. know they love to say that but apparently he's lost like over the last however many months 40 pounds You look at him, his weight's down quite a bit. His conditioning is up and he's up in the eligible for a contract extension after this year and I think Yokeich is going to be a smash, smash player this year. He's going to be so good at the Pacers. He won't check out the Colorado Buffaloes who have an interesting season happening in front of them. I like the, they played in Colorado. Joker goes to the game. I believe Tyree, Salaburt and Pacers are playing at Iowa State. I like this initiative. This is going to continue with the MBA, kind of getting the colleges and universities involved in that. Now, we talked earlier, a little bit different than I think a lot of people thought our reaction would be as former players, speaking from a player's perspective. We personally think that the NHL reps are the best because they chirp back to the players. They're like a part of the game. Connor has a question for you actually, Chefty. Chefty, obviously, a big conversation with the Tramik Bride situation and there was the situation in Minnesota. Miami, when it came to just interactions with refs of rabble, gutting the sportsman like, is there going to be some sort of fallout here? Is this just, hey, come on, let the boys play, let the boys ref type situation. I think there's going to be some fallout here. I mean, I don't think that you could have the officials captured on camera the way they were yesterday and not have there be some sort of ramifications from that. But beyond that, I mean, that the officials should never become this story and as Teddy Bursky was saying this morning and get up, like the officials had to be held to a higher standard than the players because it's their job to kind of keep everything in line and in order and peaceful out there and not let tensions escalate. So when the official is letting the tensions escalate, that's not a good thing and you've got JC Treter, the executive director of the NFL PA yesterday, calling out the behavior of the line judge Jeff Seaman there saying that it's unacceptable. And the league saying it's looking into both those things. But beyond just those interactions, honestly, yesterday there were more penalties called yesterday than any day in the NFL since week two of the 2015 season, like that's crazy day. And as I said this morning, I know the NFL is making a big push for Flag Football and there's a Flag Football initiative. But I don't think they meant this with Flag Football. Oh! Oh! You nailed it. That's right, Jeff. Two. My known. Are we all agree? Are we all agree with what you're saying? Sixteen except the penalties in the first half of the Jags Bangles, just insane stat for one particular game. Not much. Not much. Nobody wants to see that. The last question here comes from Tosh, made about tonight here in a super dome. Yeah, Chefty, we had about 10,000 injuries this weekend, just absolutely brutal. What does the injury report look like for tonight's Monday night game? Do both of these teams have a fairly clean bill of health? Well, the Saints put their running back Travis H&N on IR last week, so he's had a minimum of four games. So, now, tonight, they have to turn to Alan Camara and Kendrick Miller, Donald Sin in the backfield, the Falcons have finally got their quarterback back. Everybody's waiting on the Saints wide receiver, Jordan Tyson, the first round pick. He's been on IR, the hamstring injury, and he's really coming along and making great progress. But they're not going to rush him, and they're going to be patient with him. My understanding is it'll still be some weeks here before we see him again. If you look at the schedule, the way it lays out, they play in Paris in week seven against I think the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have a buy in week eight. And I think it's the Cleveland Browns of top, my head in week nine. So to me, that's where you're looking at a potential Jordan Tyson return like week nine, maybe after the buy. If they're going to continue to be as patient as they've been all along. How do you see tonight going down here? You see the night going, Chefty, quickly, as you're emotional loud, emotional loud like that you're going to be, oh, that's going to be an electric spot pad to be in tonight. And the Saints are coming up a loss at home against the Raiders. So I think that they're going to play a great game in an emotional setting. And they're tough to beat in the dome, even though the Raiders are able to do it, Falcons are coming off their best game of the year, different team with Michael Benick's quarterback. I expect them to play well again as well. She'll be a great game. NMC South Battle in clash year for maybe the next 20 years, if these lads can stay healthy. That's senior NFL insider Adam Shepter, Michigan. That's AJ Hawke, he's live in the Thunder Dome as his head's getting chopped off because he's so tall. He grew actually over the last week as I'm much working out and healthy eating. He's doing debuts there, the lads are there. And we have a second hour with Dan Orlovsky joining us live here at the Super Dome. Cannot wait to hear who he's putting his Dan Wagon and carrying water for today. Be a friend to our friends. Because I'm nice, it might change your life, see on the other side. Hello beautiful people, and welcome back to the Pat Mackity Show, here live on this overreaction Monday. October 5th, 2026. I was two of the program begins, no football. Nailed it, Dan Orlovsky, good to see you, pal, obviously, ESPN, NFL, Pundin, and quarterback Guru, joining us as he has every single overreaction Monday of this particular season. Cannot wait to see who you're latching at Dan Wagon too. It's not just us chatting about ball here on this glorious day, back in the Thunder Dome. You have a man who's a college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner, AJ Hawke, Hawke, Hawke, Hawke, Hawke, how excited are you for this guy today? Just to see what outrageous things come out of his mouth. I'm pumped, because we know yesterday there was a bunch of great action, a bunch of one-score games. So I am curious to see how Dan is feeling on some of these teams compared to what the public narrative may be. Yeah, you're right. Yesterday, there was a lot that happened, eight one-score final outcomes, nine total one-score games. If you don't count the walkoff, nine-year NFL, Darius J. Butler's back here in the Thunder Dome. Yes, everybody. D-bots, what's your big takeaway coming out of the football weekend that maybe Dan 'll put his Dan wagon behind? Oh, I mean, trying to think what Dan's going to come out with, no clue. I think I have a good grip on what happened yesterday, but I'm sure I will get it. There's a notebook there. I got a pretty good idea. What are you thinking? Okay. It's up to the notebook. I can't wait to get smarter. My quarterback does the work, man. I can't wait for what Dan blesses up with today. I'm going to rattle off my big thoughts. Yeah. Oh man. What are your big thoughts? Yeah, let's go. Let's do a 30,000-foot view. So, actually, before we do that, you know who's really excited to hear it, I can tell. Gumpy, Gumpy. What do you think? Great to see you. Big thoughts. Yeah. Bad quarterback play yesterday. Can't wait to hear. Oh, no. I'm really good quarterback. That's what I've been saying. Yeah. You've been saying that. Yeah. What are your big thoughts there? What are your thought? Raters are good. Raters are legit. Yeah. Big thoughts of yesterday. The concerns for Josh Allen and Joe. Like AJ said it. AJ said it. But when it's right here, I feel like I can feel it. Not only say it. What day did it happen? Yesterday. No, no, no. Why can't I speak today? I speak terribly, too. Yeah, yesterday. I don't know why I say it like that. I do not know if it's a northeast thing. It's yesterday. No, it is not a northeast thing. You jackass. You know what it is. It's a boss snack. But you only use it for one word. And it just grinds everybody's gears there. Just don't get it. I'm not. I'm going to say it the way I say it. You like you like you telling me to stop saying it is going to make me stop saying it. I don't stop saying it. Okay, let's go to the talks of table. That's at Boston. Right. It's upset about it and at Tiesh mid and then one half of the hammer. Bad. Cowboys, AP tone. I love it. But as you were saying it, like I knew Connor was shaking back there in a ThunderDome. But yesterday, some of the things that happened, you're overarching viewpoints on yesterday's NFL Sunday. Okay, so my big thoughts after watching most of the games. I haven't seen it. I think there's three or four. Concerned for Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hertz, and Bonix, and their play right now is legit. DeForest Buckner and Indy looks great. Daniel Jones does not. Kyron Williams could be the most underrated player in the NFL. CJ Stroud has no business being owned for. Jacksonville and Kansas City are the two best teams in the AFC. Baltimore is right there, I think, as well as the Las Vegas Raiders. Minnesota has to find some rhythm on offense. It'll be the Texans of 2025. Okay, so those are your big takeaways. I appreciate you rattling them off. I would like to chitchat about some more direct things that we, if we could dive in. Sure. Daniel Jones thinks that football, what the hell happened? So I obviously very happy about Daniel Jones being our quarterback. We end up paying him about a hundred million dollars to come back and be our quarterback. There were times for the New York Giants where I think Daniel Jones showcased some spectacular football play. For me, the only times I've known with Daniel Jones are quarterback for the Colts. Number one in the NFL. He was spectacular last year. Breaks his leg, then tears his Achilles. He comes back on a deal. We bring the lads back here, but he but Pittman. We miss Pittman. Obviously Pierce is hurt right now. Josh Downs had to do a lot. Hopefully that'll continue to grow. We get a win, but he did not look good at football at all. Is this is this old Dan Jones? Or is this just something that maybe the commanders were able to do to him? And the last couple weeks haven't been great. Why is this happening? And should we expect him to snap out of it? Like you did whenever he came to the Colts originally. The biggest issue is the problem is the old Daniel Jones stuff rearing its head. Daniel has always struggled kind of in the pocket with people, bodies around him, and the decision making under pressure. Last year it was mitigated a ton. He was actually exceptional. and that was like the probably eye-opening experience of Daniel last year. And this season, and certainly yesterday, it reared its ugly head. The decision-making, the movement, it felt like he was stuck and cemented often within the pocket, and that led to some really bad decisions and turnovers, and it's a concern right now because the lack of perimeter players with the lack of feel in the pocket and decision-making that you want in those kind of tight-quarter situations is concerning. - Okay, so I'll continue to believe that he's gonna be able to snap out of this and play good ball. Hopefully we get a wide receiver in there. Shepard basically said Marvin Harrison Jr. the culture looking into to see if he's available. I assume maybe there's some other wide receivers. Let's talk about two wide receivers on the same team that absolutely won crazy yesterday. Can you tell me why DAC, CD, and DP are unstoppable? - Okay, so CD goes for 17. And they moved them around a little bit, like he played at the numbers two slot. The game winner is a beautiful design. They waste, they put stingly outside, they waste stingly outside. He gets to run outside leverage on Peter. Here's my thing, that's like three or four blown coverages out of Houston. My biggest takeaway from the game, two biggest takeaways, D-Butt, AJ, you probably have a thought on it, but two biggest takeaways are one, I think the simplicity and the beauty of the simplicity of Houston's defense last year, where they would just line up, rush four, and kind of play cover four. It's become unpredictable, unbelievably predictable. For offenses as well, and I think offenses are like, hey, if we'd chip and try to secure protection against those ed rushers, we know what coverage we're gonna get. We just attack that coverage all the time. My second thing is, CD's amazing, DAC was great. 17 catches, they didn't put hands on them at the line of scrimmage one time. I mean, there's eight clips I have, where it's just the corner is like eight or nine yards off. He's catching the ball and the corner is still six or seven yards off. So, I mean, offensively, we would just call that constant free access. And so, for me, it's like Houston's defensive plan, philosophy, the way that they covered CD was just as much of a question mark as CD's just going out there and just absolutely wearing out press coverage. I thought it was way too generous from Houston's defense. - Okay, so we CCD go and crazy alongside GP, but maybe it's a Houston Texans issue. They're O and four. Obviously not a good start. Stats say you're probably not gonna make it if you start O and for only one team. Since the merger, I believe, has started O and four and then made it to the playoffs. Good luck to Houston and congrats the Dallas, seemingly cracking the code on what they can do offensively. Now, cracking the code is something that they had to do down in Carolina with a guy who was being described as the Steph Curry of football D, but has a question. - Yeah, and one overall pick, got benched. Ty, I believe it was the first person in this building to call him, hey, that's a good football team. What is about Bryce Young that's got him playing so hot right now? - Right now, his ownership of the pocket and how fast his eyes are to windows are as good as anybody's. You know, we're talking Brock Purdy, who's playing MVP, Best Quarterback in football right now, for a guy that is not the big stature guy. His ability to have the subtle team movement wise within the pocket and then be able to pull the trigger at any moment when that pocket or window, the pocket clears, the window opens up is amazing. - Team Ack and I wanna get the name right, Team Ack is outstanding. I think Bryce has such a good feel right now for just the subtlety within the pocket debut and the matchups that they're creating with Team Ack, they're moving them around, he's in the three spot, he's in the one spot, I know that Bryce said after the game the trust he has in him, I mean, there are multiple examples of him just being like, my guy's better than your guy. I knew you guys talked about this throw is insane. If any other quarterback in the leagues making this throw, it's all over social media, all over the television. That is third and 14 with game on the line in many ways and niche is like, I'm gonna float this over corner in between safety on the move while getting bumped. I mean, that throw is as good a throw as you will see. If Patrick threw it, Josh threw it, if Lamar threw it, it would be all over the place. It is an unbelievable throw. Dude, that's an unbelievable throw, oh my gosh, dude. - Yeah, that's one of those throws that like whenever you were in film with Stafford. - How are you throwing this, dude? - Yeah, that's a throw, you can make this a throw, I can make it. - Yeah, that's special. - That's special. - And you also talk about his pocket awareness, they said that he had that feel 'cause he was a little bit under size. Remember, he had that big backpack that made us wonder if he was ever gonna survive in the NFL, but his pocket presence was one of the traits that they said he had, is he has this ability to feel where he needs to see, he doesn't take big shots. And on that particular play, third and 14, two in game, feels it gets out of the pocket on the move. This is not the third and 14 you play, but it's similar play of him moving in there. He is a weapon, he really is, and his arm talents have served. - So the two things that stand out to me too, like when we're talking the pocket movement, it's not only the pocket movement, it's move pocket and the ability to like then quickly get the ball out. I think the other thing that's really interesting about him is his arm is unquestionably stronger than it was. And we don't see that a lot in the league where guys come in and somehow the arm gets stronger, there is no doubt that Bryce Young's arm has gotten stronger, and he's playing crazy fast right now, and they're pretty good, man, like they are pretty darn, the offensive line's really good, like really good, but I think it's the combination, again, it's very San Francisco-like of really good old line, quarterback has such a good feel for timing, and when they get the ball out, that you're mitigating some of like what might be a pass rush win. - Congrats to Canalis and Day of Morgan and Tepper. - And Izick, for a new offensive coordinate play cause, they're a nice job. - Yeah, we don't love whenever somebody gets hired because they're play calling abilities and then just gives it up. - Same here? - But it worked. - Yeah, it's working so far for sure. - Denver, not working. - Man. - Well, how long we doing this for? Okay, hey, hey, hey. - There's a stat about first quarter points, it's our first quarter yards or something like that, it's like 3.5 or something. The lowest obviously that it's been for Sean Payton. What, how long we doing this for Dano? - Yeah. - Cause I'll tell you what, I love Davis Wood. - I love him. - Good guy. - I never met him. - Is it? - Cool name. - Yeah, we don't know, I never met him. He's committed a ball for a long time and I appreciate that he's done that. But I like Sean Payton calling him football play. I've seen Sean Payton, we just talked about him. 62 to 7, Saints beat. The coach team I was on down here. - I want a team. - Oh, that's why. - He didn't play Curse Payton, I think, first play. - I think I did play late in the game. - Well, thanks for whatever you added on to that. I'll speak for Drew Brees, Sean Payton, and the New Orleans Saints. Or did you score a touchdown late? Where we shut out? - I don't know, I just remember Greg Williams. I remember Greg Williams, he, they were up 900 to nothing. I went in, he zero blitzed me four straight snaps. And I'm like, "Toot, are you serious?" Just all out pressure, it's like. - He'd hit him up. - Yep. - He'll have to have a bottle tie. And also, this whole place was buzzing at an entire time. Make it up 49 nothing, it was zero, zero still in this place. They were just celebrating everything. Zero blitz with this place buzzing down 50. - Thanks for coming. - It feels, thanks for coming. I was like, "You kind of, can you tell me a little bit "about Bo next day at Davis Weapon? "How long should we expect Sean Payton?" One of the greatest play callers of our entire sports history, just kind of continuing to look along for the sidelines. - I think great play callers just have a rare ability to figure out ways to get quarterbacks in rhythm. I'll say this about yesterday's game. There are five clips in the first half. Three of them, big plays, where I'm sitting there saying, "Bow, throw the ball." That are, they're open, the design gets them open, their big plays down the field, and he just does not throw the football. And I don't know the why between, how come the play design and play call is there, early on in the game, and the route in design wins, and Bo next just doesn't throw the football. And that's what I'm talking about like with the, hey, why aren't we like getting this quarterback and rhythm early on? There's a disconnect right now, early on in games with why we're calling to play, where are I should be, why we're getting into it in that moment? And I think that's the biggest issue right now to start the game. We know Bo next crazy talented, very athletic, clutching games, but I can't put yesterday all on Davis Web. Yesterday is way more Bo next and not, for some reason not pulling the trigger on routes that are there. - What day? - Yesterday. - Sunday. - I'm gonna start thinking of, yeah, Sunday. - Nah, there's a lot of words I say a lot. - I just go with the devil. - Do you think I care? This is how I say the word, dude. No, I'm not saying that. - Dude, welcome back. - John goes, dude. - Yeah, dude, we respect that everything about it, but since we brought it up early, which was kind of my fault, 'cause I was thinking about Connor thinking about it the entire time, I just heard a lot because we all have him on Monday, and a lot happens yesterday. - Yes, it does. And that's what we have here on the other side of the field there instead of Bo next. Brock Purdy, yeah. So, are they unslappable? So, how should we be viewing what they're, go ahead? - You know what's the craziest thing about San Francisco to me right now? Outside of Brock playing unbelievable. Debo looks like he did five years ago. Kittle looks like he did five years ago. I mean, the way that they're using Debo is insane. They're handing it off to him. They're throwing it to him out of the back field. They're running RPOs, they're running reverses to him. Kittle scores on the late screen and he runs away from everybody. It's wild, how different those two players look just from a youth perspective. They're planning to get some really good Denver defense. They were stymied early on 'cause they didn't run it great. Kyle got to some runs that were really good, but just the way that those two marquee veterans look right now is fascinating. - Who's number 75 for the Niners? They're offence alignment. You see him, he's almost catching Huffunga. - Legend. there. Is that a speed across the board and Conor Colby is his name? Is that the fastest offense alignment? The D. Bo looks crazy fast on tape right now. Crazy fast. Okay. D. Bo looks fast, George. Kiddo obviously coming off in a kill. He's that guy six five Rio. Now look at number 75 right now. Can we go back a little bit here just Bruce to watch that again? Why is he running that fat? Do we know if is that even a loud for a guy six five three. Oh, he's pumping. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, good for you, dude. I'm happy you got the showcase that. And Kiddo obviously looks incredibly fast and healthy. The Niners might be the team. You know, they might be that's so good. You know, another undefeated team. The Minnesota Vikings. Diggs has a question about what the hell's going on over there. Yeah, Dan, they are four and oh, with six touchdowns. They set a record for a four no team since the 1932 Cardinals, I believe, or 23. One of those situations. Brian floors and defense have been unbelievable. The offense has been absolute shite. Is that a, obviously was Kyle Murray missed some time with the concussion? Is that, is that a him thing? Is it a KOC thing? What's going on with the Vikings offense, which, you know, is probably not sustainable for being undefeated? There feels a disconnect. Minnesota offensively with who they want to be, who they are, and who they can be. I think they've always been this zone run offense. I do not think they're a good zone run team. I think a lot of their better runs are what we would call gap where you're pulling people or maybe double teaming rather than the zone. Everything is built off of their zone, not everything. A lot of the stuff that they do in their play action game is built off of their zone stuff. And so their play action game is hurt a little bit from the lack of their ability to runs their zone offense. I think there is a significant lack of rhythm in their passing game. That is a little bit of tribute to trying to figure out exactly what Kyle is good in. Kyle are trying to get a little bit more accustomed to what they want to do. Time away and running this offense. How much can they be in gun? How much can they be underneath the center? And so right now, I just feel like it feels like they're searching and they're certainly as a disconnect. Now, I thought Kyle made some nice throws yesterday, but they're still, it still doesn't look like the married up offense that was, you know, the early years of a Kirk Cousins and certainly a Sam Darnold where everything was kind of matched together. It seems like they're having some success with plays rather than a system. We could start talking about a system having success, no matter whose play in quarterback or whatever position whenever we go to the Chicago Bears. We thought the same for KOC. We thought KOC, you could put anybody in there and they're going to do great. Obviously, we have not seen that over the last couple. Minnesota Vikings will record though. He's got their back. Quick stat from Jason Harmon total points this season. Vikings offense, 36. Will Rikard, 42. They're going to be the Texans of last year. We're like, you, you've got this historically great defense. And you're like, if you can just get good quarterback play, you can be anybody. And then all of a sudden that the defense is dominant, but the offense isn't good enough when it matters the most. And that's the danger for Minnesota right now because the defense is sensational, but the offense is not going to beat teams when it matters the most. Shout out to Will Rikard getting 15 by himself when in the game. I think Vinny Terry had one of those in a playoffs against Baltimore way back in the day. Very rare. Do you see the kicker just taking the entire dub and score and all the points, congrats to him. Might see him tonight spotlighted on Monday night countdown. Now let's go to who we're talking about with like system and plays and everything like that. Can you tell me a little bit about Chicago and why Ben Johnson's awesome. And he has two starting quarterbacks yesterday, even though only one quarterback position is available yesterday. And he's petty. And he's seemingly of an actual madman, a mastermind, a brilliant coach who can win with maybe Gumpi at quarterback if he had to not saying that Baygent is not a great quarterback. Small hands will I need a little Gumpi. You see his nose. No, he does. Did you not see me fucking with the football in my hand right there? No hand on him. See who's a bigger. That's what he does. You see that me Paul, he Gumpi just put up his jacket date. Tucked date. I'm not playing there. You got to get down lower. You're going to get down lower, Dan. Put your hand down lower. Not doing this. Oh, no. You got it. You got to go. Are you not his papa? I saw. I saw him go back. He backed up. I didn't flinch. Yeah, you did. No, you're flying, man. Gumpi, good play. Gumpi. Oh, yeah. Gumpi. Wait a punk team right there. Yeah, definitely. Wait a punk. Dan oh, right there, dude. That's sweet. I'm going to measure hands. Okay. This isn't a hand measuring contest. Dan oh, okay. We're talking ball real quick. Ball talk, though. Ben Johnson. I love Tyson, Baygent West Virginia kid. He's really good at football. Proved to be an NFL quarterback yesterday, I believe, especially in Ben Johnson system. Case keen him first time playing in over a thousand days. Those crazy Caleb Williams doesn't even really do anything near what they did in that office wins game. Is Ben Johnson capable of winning with anybody? Is that a fair question asked? Yes, they have the best offensive line in football. And so you talk about the ability to control the game. That's all Chicago does methodically control basically every game that they play in the second thing is they get four downs to play with more often than not. Second and eight is like first and 10 for him. Third and six is like second and seven. So like the way that he has the much bigger playbook because he knows, okay, fourth and one fourth and two, we're going to go for it. We'll convert a ton of it like he did in Detroit. When Detroit at the dominant offensive line in 2000, like 2324, it was always having those four downs because you just knew the offensive line would give every single play a chance to have success. So that's what's happening in Chicago again. I think the second big takeaway that is really starting to show itself that is outstanding for Chicago is the young perimeter players are really starting to play well on the ball down the field. And I'm guys really good, really good second back. But Romo Dunesay and Luther Burton both making plays in the past game down the field, whether they're in breaking routes, contested outbreakers, some of the chunk throws. I think that's the biggest takeaway since Caleb went down is the, those two receivers really starting to kind of put their fingerprint on this offense. He can win with Gumpy, a quarterback if you had to. I think Gumpy would see if he looks like a playmaker. Thank you, Daniel. That's how happy you guys came back around. You're a good guy. It was mad at me. You are a good guy. Dan, I think you'd put the Dan wagon right behind Gumpy if he got a couple of wins. Well, I believe he seems like a guy that figured out. What makes sense why Ben Johnson was wanted by everybody though? Oh, for sure. I mean, schematically he, the way that he ties things together, attacks, leverages, creates easy windows. I don't want to say easy windows, but viable windows for quarterbacks. Yeah, he's in rhythm. Like I remember last week, the Billy Chicago game. How is he going to start the game? Case key to me hasn't started in over a thousand days. Ron Runtnope, he's going to get the ball out of his hands. He's going to get him completions all sent to quarterbacks in rhythm games over. Yeah, he, he's petty to both quarterbacks, a giant ego and the best way. Giant ego. No, no, no, petty, petty, petty. I think he's got a giant ego in the best way. I think all that great play. I think that when he, when they walk out on the field, those certain coaches, Kyle Shanahan is like that. I think McVeigh is like that. Sean Peyton like that. They just have such a self belief of their process of studying during the week, how they want to attack that coverage, who they want to attack on that defense, the way that they see the game operating. They don't think that there's anything that that defensive coordinator can do to them that they're not ready for. And the way that they want to attack, I just think that he's got such a good vision and understanding for that. I love watching his teams. Another team that might not have the fanfare as the Chicago Bears, but certainly should he's down there and do all. AJ has a question for you about offensive play in Jacksonville. Dano, is this sustainable for Trevor Lawrence in this Jacksonville Jaguar's team? I mean, Trevor's playing at a very high level. Seems to be very consistent. Like what do you think of the Jags chance to actually make a run? I think that Jags are as good as anybody in the AFC. Whoa. I think Kansas City is right there. I think those are the two best teams in the AFC. Is it sustainable? Yes. Quarterback has insane timing right now. Insane. He is cutting the ball so loose to everybody. Parker Washington, Brian Thomas Jr. This throw, if you guys have the back angle and you can freeze it, Bruce somehow when he throws that bet. It's the guys five yards from turning around. I think he pairs plays so well week to week to week. You know, AJ, you guys as defenses, you study game plans from the previous week and or weeks or tendencies from an offense. He's got such tendency breakers. He knows, okay, I presented this formation. Like they have a keeper in the third quarter where they ran the same exact formation, the same exact look against New England last week and they toss it. This time they come out fake toss it. The receiver runs out the backside and it's a 50 yard gain on a five yard throw. So he pairs things so well. They're really talented. From the perimeter perspective, I think they could run the football no matter what. out of the personnel that they have on the field. Sometimes it's too tight and sometimes it's one tight end. They're legit, I will say this AJ, and you can speak through a bit of it. I think the best and most underspoke unit in football right now is Jacksonville. My notes for Jacksonville's defense, excuse me. They give you nothing. You can't fool them on offense. They're so sound, it's almost like they know the play that you're trying to run. And they tackle incredibly well, incredibly well. And I just think those are things from a defensive perspective that are so-- Oh! Paul, can you move to a side so I don't have to see that? This is his notebook, though, just so we can kind of see this stuff. He has 1,000 pages. Do you see whenever we brought up the Jacksonville Jaguars? How excited he was? He flipped through 14 different pages. Why don't you taking these notes? It's my quarter. The Jacksonville Jaguars eating up the most paper. They're born in the 18-4/4 quarter, 14-2. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, I don't know. I started watching it at like 5 o'clock on Sundays. And I just watched and sent videos and notes and probably go to lay-- Oh, no. Oh, no. In a shut the whole thing down. There's a little bit of a spotlight. I think in this entire conversation about ball and how we've started, because to Liam Cohen's point, nobody has talked about the Jacksonville Jaguars. I think Trevor Lawrence had his best year last year with Liam Cohen. Nobody has talked about the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's only getting better with Liam Cohen. And then Trevor's honor, did you see him shake the absolute? Get out of T. Higgins, did you see him going backwards? They got a complete team down there. Yeah, they're awesome. The complete team's a good-- we get caught up in the offense, because Trevor and the skill position group and Trevor is-- I think there's three, four quarterbacks that are playing, just at a different level through the first month in the NFL, more than anybody else in the league. He is one of those three or four. But I'm telling you, the defense is just as impressive, and it's just as good, and it's a well-coached football team. Yeah, good for the Jacksonville Jaguars, finally. Look at that. Three or four tackles, like they guessed today, we're like, it's a yard short of conversion, and the tackle is everything. Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence, obviously, a great fit together. It is evident every time they step on the field, they get better and better and better. There's some quarterback coaches, Tandum, that aren't good. Deepot has a question for you, though. Yeah, two of them that you were talking about got kind of loud a couple of weeks ago. Justin Herbert on L.A. with Mike McDaniel, and then Jaylen Hurts with Sean Mayon, just not looking good for either one of those guys right now. What are your takeaways or whatever notes you've taken on these guys? And what's specifically are they struggling with? Start with Herbert. Everything's a mess. But I can't take the interceptions off of Justin Herbert, the decision making. Those two interceptions, he throws. Me, ball-sups. He's throwing, if one guy doesn't get it, two or three other guys are gonna get it. And that's a relatively simple concept to be reading. It's not an exuberant coverage or a confusing coverage. And I just, it's the decision making was indefensible. But again, there's multiple plays on their offense where I go, what are we doing? I have no idea what the point of this play is. What are we doing? This is just bad offense. How is he getting hit on a three-step drop before he hits his back foot? So I will reiterate, it's a very broken offense and everybody has their hand in it. But Herbert and the decision making for a guy that has been a good decision maker is probably as big of an issue as anything. I'd say this about Philly. So Philly right now, Jalen does not look comfortable consistently operating the past concepts. There are three or four times where you sit there and say, I know why this concept looks this way. The throw is there, throw it. They're in third, oh, in 12 on third down. One, they're awful insured yarders right now, offensively, awful, awful. Two, they're only in third and 10 plus, like I think three of those times, not expected to convert those. Three, three, third and four, like five or six times. No one gets open, they miss a block. They, the ball, they're a yard short on the depth of the route and this is an offense right now that just lacks consistency and kind of figure out who they are. No, Devante, no, Sequan, no Lane, like that's an issue. Sequan, I said that weird. That's an issue. - No, you don't say anything weird. - That's an issue, but right now, this, it's an offense that doesn't have a true, I can go to these type of plays. - Don't like Sequan, no return. There was some chatter by braining Graham about potential Lane Johnson's stuff. I don't know. - That was late, was that? - Yeah. - I don't know, it gets really dark and filly. - Dude, that play, woo, that play. That play, that play right there, there's two things that Bruce go back to that third down, 'cause there's two things that stand out about the play. One, Cam Jurgens pulls, who's the left guard so fast and I don't know how or why that he almost knocks the ball out of Hertz getting the snap. Like, Hertz almost, 'cause it's a touchdown, if Hertz gets the snap. - Alright, so I'll be right back, you, you. - So watch, pause it, like one more clip, Bruce. Okay, so look at Jurgens, he's already pulling. He almost takes the ball from Jalen. And if Jalen doesn't bobble that fumble, there's a downhill, there's a seam right there. So, that's like, look how quickly Jurgens pulls and almost takes the handoff. That's why the fumble happens. So you hear us quarterbacks often say, like, when you're the quarterback, you gotta belly the ball off the snap. Okay, that's a big thing. The second thing, D-butt, you'll know it better than me. Bruce, go back to the third down. Watch McDuffie, when Jalen starts to scramble, he doesn't remarkable job of just keeping leverage to force Jalen back inside. We see defensive backs all the time, try to dip underneath the block and somebody gets outside of him. All he does is just stay square, stay square, stay square at the bottom of the screen. And I think it's awesome play by McDuffie. - We're back, we're back. - We're watching the bottom of the screen. - Looking too. - Yeah. - Dude, that's so good by him at my opinion. It's so good by him. - We always talk about no edge, no chance as a defense. And that was a big time player by big time play by big time player. - Yeah, good edge there. - Oh yeah. - You see it trained for him. Sean McVeigh rallies up the entire team. Do you see that? - Yeah. - How'd you feel about it? I liked it, especially because of how they responded. But I liked that Sean McVeigh rallied the lads on the sideline and they responded. They get a huge one in Philadelphia. Obviously, a lot of convo about Philadelphia being in the dump center by Matt. - Sean McVeigh still has his fast plots. What I saw from the Rams yesterday. - Yeah, McVeigh, when everyone, you know, they acquire all the talent and, oh, this team's gonna go undefeated and subo favorites. This was the reason why I truly felt that way. Because I just, I've been around Sean. I know the leader that he is. I know in the moment the way that he can handle things. They're not playing well. Matthew Stafford's not playing well. They can get nothing going their way. It feels like in all of a sudden they just hang and hang and then one run leads to a completion, leads to Puka catching, five straight balls in the fourth quarter. And then Kyron Williams just finishing it off. And I think just the perspective of not getting too high, not getting too low, not trying to panic, not trying to go chase 10 points in one play was enormous. I'm not saying season saving win, but fudge, it feels like that, man. - What? - It was one in three with Buffalo. - Yeah. - Dude, this run is so good, man. It's so good by Kyron. The blocking on the perimeter, to not hold, watch the two guys, the tight end and Puka, not the clip by there, right there by Puka. And then if you see, there's a Philly defender that comes in and punches at Kyron. And he does that Kenneth Walker, almost like, double cross, right? Right there, unbelievable. - And also, he took one of the biggest hits we've ever seen in a football stadium. - Whoa, that was what he heard. - He was really nice. - I tell you, they say you leave your feet, bad things can happen. They certainly did something different time. - You think it was a good call? - What's that? - That late hit. I think the helmet is certainly hitting him square in the chest as he's out of bounds. - It's a flag on it. - Pretty good. But it's, are you talking about the one on like third down when he like jumps in Cuperdigine, like, I think Jones is the guy who hit him out of bounds. - Yeah, that one went through the chest. - Yeah. - They threw flag on that? - Yeah, that was an automatic first down. That was a huge penalty. - And I think the reason why is 'cause he was in paint when he hit some. - Yeah, this one. - He, he, but if he's jumping, that can't be on the defender, he's jumping and got farther. - I don't, I don't want to. - Father out the jail last week. - Well, I think that's why Dano said, do you like the collar knot? - Yeah, 'cause I think Kyron jumps from in bounds and guy starts lunging in bounds, but then body gets contorted. It's at a different time. These refs, how do you feel about them? What did you think of the Tremac right there? 'Cause Chefty came on and told us, before we get to the night, which Kyron wants to ask you about, Chefty came on and said, you know, he kinda made me soften my stance a little bit 'cause I like the way the NHL refs. I like the way the NHL refs. And the NHL players talk to each other. They chirp each other. Hey, I had to get you for one pile. Hey, keep it moving, you know, like to hell with you. Hey, stalls a year a bump, like they actually have that type of interaction, that type of relationship. They're all X players clearly in the hockey world. They understand it. In this particular case, I didn't mind the ref going back at trade. We don't know what trade said to him. But refs and coaches say this to refs all the time. Or say these types of things all the time. So when Vrable gets a penalty for it, and then it's like that. What did he get a penalty for? Well, he was getting boxed out by a, like a sticks guy. So that could have been a part of it, which I think is a local guy. So that was a new Englander. That was Box and Out of Vrable. And then he was reaching around and he dropped two F-bombs on him. What's telling me was a blanking, terrible blanking call. And then he gets a flag for that. And then that guy says, "That's the Tremac bride. I don't like that. I wish it was all acceptable to say to each other." Shepter said, though, "Refs are representing the sport and the league. So their actions are obviously different than how the players just must meet." Where do you kind of land on this? And Jay-C Treader did what he had to do for the NFLPA saying, "Hey, they say now this is going to be refs talking to us like this." Which I respect, he has to take that stance. But I don't mind the refs and players having a better relationship than what we currently have. Yeah, I mean, obviously there's a level of respect that has to go two ways. Both players to official, player to coach, coach to official, all that stuff. Highly emotional game. I don't know what was said by either party in regards to it. I agree with Shepter's point like they're representing the league. And the sport but so are the players, right? So, and so are the coaches. This one's pretty awesome here. He didn't mean to hit him clearly. Hey, welcome to football, you know, this type of thing. In his reaction though, I mean, that's a big bump. That's a big-- Yeah, but I don't think the guy from Minnesota does anything wrong there. Yeah, I understand what you're saying. That's not saying they're the refs. But you didn't get a penalty there, did he or something? No, but I think the refs certainly had a moment where I don't like what? You know, one of those things. Hey, refs, we still appreciate you. You don't need to throw a thousand flags or getting a place face. My big complaint with the refs right now is we're throwing way too many flags on third downs that are like swinging the flow of a game or big moments, taking points off the board, putting points on the board. Yeah. The Philly Rams game, they throw PI on McDuffee at the end of the first half when he's getting attacked by the release receivers taking the back of his helmet and they throw it on McDuffee. And it's like all of a sudden Philly gets points off of it. So, way too much of that. I guess the coach got one pretty good on Commanders yesterday too. Yeah, they had a lot of Commanders fans saying, "Hey pal, coming out talking about this cheating." It's like, "Well, it's nice being on the right side of it." But it feels like with the way they're referring now, there's going to be a lot of options for that. Hopefully tonight we have a perfectly officiated game. Conman has a question for you about who we'll see and how we'll see him. Yeah, hoping for that doubt on that though, Dana. What are you expecting tonight with the Shock Man and Penics going up against each other? We just saw Penics in the Falcons offense. Look, unbelievable against the Packers. Are you expecting that tonight? And then what should we kind of look for in New Orleans? A lot of Olave, what's kind of the game? What are you seeing and looking for? Yeah, so the Penics and Atlanta offense. One, can you stop their outside zone run game? If you can't, they're going to have their way with you. You got to stop B-john. I think the way that he threw the ball specifically to Drake London was very impressive. And the confidence that he had with Drake London in those one-on-one situations, does Atlanta, without Terrell, kind of single him up and coverage a lot of times? Excuse me, New Orleans. Do they single him up and coverage a lot of times? And so it's really about, can you stop the outside zone against Atlanta's offense? If you don't, it opens up everything. I think for New Orleans two things. It's not just Olave, Olave is great. They lay their number two receivers outstanding as well. And then Johnson the tight end. So it's a three-headed monster in their past game that you got to pay attention to. Atlanta's pass-ross was so good against Scream Bay. And that's one of the things because they don't have Walker and they don't have Pierce. It's a little bit of, well, how good is it? Or at least that was the thought. They're still dialing it up. And the pass rush has been really good. New Orleans has played from such a deficit this year. I just think that's a slippery slope. If you get, if you fall behind too much against Atlanta with the way that Obrich can dial up their pressures, it's a dangerous world. And so I think it's whatever defense gets the play to their type of identity goes a long way tonight. How do you feel the crowd is going to be? Have you played in here when we lost 62-7? Had you or you a starter in here, ever? I don't think I'd ever started a game here. I started in Detroit against them. It feels like an equalizer. This place is amazing. Yeah, actually. There are one and a half point favorites. And if you look at what happened last week, that would make no sense. But I do think it's because of the spirit of this place. Yeah, it was going to be. And it's 20 years since it reopened. And Gleason and the blocked plot and everything. Yeah, Steve Leason's releasing an album I believe today as well. Think about that. Just his brain being full. I think the first song that I saw that they released, the title of the song is called "The Soul is Invincible." Really? Yeah. That has to be pretty powerful, entire therapeutic for Steve. I think they're celebrating him pretty big today as they should as they celebrate the city and this building as a whole. I'm pumped to be down there. I'm excited to be down there. Can't wait to see how the game goes. Cool to be a part of, for sure. Absolutely. Dano. Thanks, buddy. Really good stuff. Great to see you. Thanks. Maybe Dano. Yeah, good job. What's up, Dano? Hey, I think you should walk out of here. Head held high. Yeah, agreed. Always down. Right back down there. Good job, Don. Right back here. And also, yeah, that's a good call. Let's get a, let's get a good high five with Gump server here. Cool. Yes. High five and make up. Wow. Good firm. Yeah, good. That thing. We're going to get small. Gump's in golf in his hand. Yeah, Gump, he better go. You just really nailed it today, Dan. Hey, you just out for him. Thanks, Doppin' Butt. You just out for him. Pretty good, Gump. You should feel pretty good about what you did to that guy. Doppin' twice today already. Did you do that, Dano? You gave him the, this earlier. And flying, dude, almost fell off the rail here. Whoa. Okay, a lot of NFL talk. Haven't talked enough, college. Congratulations, Ohio State. You're in a big time. Win out there. I will. A-J, that one felt, you know. And that's the first time this year I've picked against a home crowd, because I do think in college football, having a home field advantage in a marquee matchup matters. Like I do think it absolutely matters. In Iowa and Kinnick, certainly has been a place that has made differences and impacts in games since it has been around. You talked about it. Others have talked about it. It is a special place. I was thankful that I got to experience it all, including the children's hospital across the streets. So, I loved what we got to experience in Iowa for 48 hours. I appreciate everything that the Iowa people are and the Hawkeyes fans are, getting a chance to experience a season alongside Ty for the last seven, eight years alongside the Hawkeyes has been fun. I mean, fun. It's been enlightening, experiencing. It is, and I sent a tape, I just remembered this whenever I was out there. I sent a tape in high school to Iowa. I like the Hawkeyes, I think, when I was in high school. I didn't get to ask Kirk if he ever watched it. I don't think he did, but I love it. It just felt like there was no way Ohio State was going to lose two games in the first five weeks, ain't it? But if there wasn't game day there, if they hadn't already lost, I think it is a place that can certainly beat you. And I think his Iowa team is talented enough to do that. Just felt like Ohio State had too many wake-up calls already. Is that how you were seeing it going in? How you thought it was maybe 42 to 7, was your prediction on Friday for the Ohio State Iowa game, ain't it? Yeah, I felt pretty confident in what Ohio State was able to do, but honestly, like you never know, going into Kinnick, it is a very, very difficult place to play. So I think this, I was a very good team. They're going to be fine the rest of the season, but I think for a Ohio State, this is a big stepping stone. People may not give them credit for being a huge win, but this was a huge win for a Ohio State, I think. And I, I like it. It was, they were pretty much in control the whole time. And obviously, like we talked about before the game, Jeremiah Smith, he's an absolute alien. What do you do to cover him? I don't know. I am not sure what you are supposed to do defensively to try to stop this guy, but I am glad he is on a Ohio State. Debut, he's inevitable. And Julian St knows that. And then on defense aside, they're only getting better and better after losing, what, four, five NFL guys, I forget what, Ohio State looked like Ohio State this weekend, Debut. I mean, it looked like a well-oiled machine, but like everyone has said, Jeremiah Smith, like he is just unbelievable. And it was certain times where I can tell, you know, going into it, the Hawkeyes felt great about the coverage. You got two or three guys on him in position, and this mutant just makes it unbelievable play. But going back to something you said earlier, I know this game was huge. What was that visit like in the children's hospital? I spent some time in the children's hospital in NICU. I had a newborn and went through heart surgery when he spent like a month in there and just the things that you see in there that I don't believe. What was that experience like for you? Yeah, and, you know, Debut, it was, it was emotional. I did not expect it to be as empowering and emotional as it was. With the cults, and I assume every NFL team is like this, have a lot of really good opportunities to get out into the community and try your best to make your society a better. I took up Tuesdays on a very regular basis to go visit and see I had been to Riley's Children's Hospital and Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital, and my entire like give back world started in Morgantown in West Virginia when Bill Stewart forced me to go to the Children's Hospital across the street from the stadium and say, Hey, go see what life actually is. So it had been a while, you know, and my baby boy was just born four weeks early, not crazy, but still had to spend some time in the NICU. So watching the NICU nurses and the doctors and everything take care of my baby boy was certainly something that made me a bit emotional and maybe it's changed me a bit and how I view everything alongside my daughter is Ilyana here, was named as the kickoff captain and gets to pick the song and then her taking a mic from Jen and saying, Hey, this is mine. It's just, it's very perspective putting about what life is, what it can be, what it should be. And I thought Stanford Steve did such a great job on the SVP pod talking about there's an effort right there in the yellow and then you and the red and then there's Harlow. She was a kickoff kid. She actually had a card. She signed for us. There's Atlas. He's most of the he's from Illinois, I believe most of these kids are from Iowa. There's Jace right there. Got a chance to meet him. the question. there was also Nicole and Steele who was 18 months old. He was born at 22 weeks, 22 weeks, he was born 40 weeks, his full term, and he was born at 22 weeks. And now he's 18 months old because of the work that they're doing at that hospital. And I think it's all started with like a simple question of like, can we go visit that children's hospital? 'Cause it was obviously gonna be a part of the storyline. And they were so welcoming, we were so thankful to be there. And yeah, we all cried. Man, I was crying my eyes out on Saturday and the work that they're doing is really, really cool. That wave, you know, getting a chance and Stanford Steve summed it up very well about the level 12, floor 12, where the people that don't or the patients that don't have a window on the Kinnick Stadium side, they all go up there for the game in the wave and when you're looking at it, it's like them, and Jordan is one of the lads that was in there, his brother Aiden was in there. It's like just them experiencing the game through that moment. And then everybody at the game acknowledging them, I think it's just like it's such a morale boost, a confidence boost for all parties. So it's special what they're doing. Caitlin Clark was awesome with everybody that I saw her interact with, her heading to the hospital. Special, it was just special. It was very emotional, D. But I would like to say this, we had Finley the kicker, she won the raffle, one of the first 300 people and she opted to kick the rules this year and we've given away four million, I think already this year 'cause we were seeing like kids just pick other kids. It was if you're not physically able to kick, you can pick but it has to be within a minute. She said I can kick, I'm gonna do it, she does it. And I offer up money for the hospital and for her if she ends up winning. And at first I said a million dollar donation and then she doesn't kick, she doesn't make it. And then she missed it and Dallas Clark does it for 150,000. And a lot of people are like coming after me a little bit for not doing the donation. And I think those people were pretty right. It didn't feel right after I was kind of thinking about it. We'll donate a million to that children's hospital. I would like to be a part of a help for them. And we have also, I think we're gonna be doing some work together in the future here. So it was 150,000 because Dallas Clark was able to throw it. After the million was kind of rescinded after a miskick. So I would just like let everybody know. I will be donating. We will be donating a million dollars to that hospital. We would like to thank that hospital for their hospitality and for what they do. And they need to know how much they empower and help everybody else that comes in contact with them. And keep kicking ass, which was really the only messaging that I kept saying everybody as I was losing in Tic Tac Toe and Cornhole and coloring. And finger football, they were playing out there. It was cool to get in there, D-Butt. And thank you for asking. I, that's something that we should all do more often. And that's all I could think of the entire time. You know what I mean, D-Butt? Hell yeah. We'll see. Yeah, it was special. And those kids are awesome. And I can't wait to see them again. I'll see them soon. Will we continue big day with big shrugs on the other side? Goodbye. Jeez. Hell yeah. I was crying my eyes out on the set, like whenever they ran the video during game day. And I think it's because of my kids, D-Butt, you just talked about a month in there. I think that's actual, right? I think it's because I think I would have cried anyways in the past about very sentimental cool things. But nowadays, I'm water works, especially when it comes to kids, man, that was a powerful trip over there to Iowa, D-Butt. Yeah, that happened not to me, but to my family, to my daughter, things my third year in the league. I was the first time, at least as a beyond adolescent, where football or sports wasn't the most important thing. And then you just realized, a lot of us have kids in here, so you realize, oh, this can be you. And you just wish you could just change and jump in their body and take whatever they're going through. So yeah, man, it was, it's incredible. Yeah, it was powerful stuff. Very, very grateful for the opportunity to go over there. Shout to Ryan Day, too. You wrote, I guess, letter to everybody because there was nothing, he knows, everybody does, AJ. That's why it's like one of the greatest traditions in all of sport, let alone just college football, all of sport that happening, because I think everybody's on the same page there where it's like, hey, we'd like to give you a couple moments of hell, yeah, because we know what you've been going through is not fair at all. Obviously, patients, but also families, AJ. Get a chance to talk to the parents. That's a change of life, just like this. Everything dropped, changes now for this entire situation. So it was crazy over there. By crazy, I mean, like a whirlwind of an experience and emotions. Well, yeah, it affects everyone in the family, too. That's the thing. It's not just obviously the person going through it, but there's usually have brothers and sisters and family members. And yeah, it's a wild situation. It's awesome that that much publicity gets to it. Like the kids, that's the thing you think about. Like kids, that's unbelievable for them. The whole wave and thing, like, yeah, it's awesome. The adults get to do it and feel like they're doing so. But I think for the kids and their families, it's truly special every single time they get to do it. They love being a part of it. They got a new NICU opening in three weeks, state of the art, whole floor. It's like, I said it about steel, the one kid I got to meet there. And his parents, Eric and Naomi, I believe, like 22 weeks is very early, very, very early to give birth. And who knows what the percentages are that you're told throughout history, what the percentages are of survival. So it was like, seeing steel is 18 month old, little lad. With all his personality, you know, he, like, move his mouth, but he's very moved body and his parents just, like, love and so hard, that, hey, so thankful that they have their boy, you know? And it's like, it's hard not to cry, actually, whenever you think about it, especially if you're lucky enough to have kids. So thank you to Iowa. Thank you to Iowa, Thai, special statement, special place, special experience. - Yeah, without a doubt. I mean, I don't know if I can add much more than, you know, you hit the nail on the head. You know, pretty good right there. My nephew, they saved his life there that would have been like three, three years ago now. So, yeah, I'm glad it gets the publicity that it deserves 'cause I think a lot of people like to be cynical and talk about the wave and say, like, oh, this is, you know, kind of bullshit that's for the media, but it really isn't, you know, you hear every one of those families talk about how, you know, if that's all it takes is, you know, five minutes to maybe brighten their day when they don't have a whole lot to look forward to. And it's just kind of constant misery and all that kind of stuff. So, yeah, I said it in my Instagram post, like there's a few things I have more pride in than being an island and being a hawk. So, yeah, I mean, I'm glad you guys got to experience it. I was certainly, you know, very special for me to be able to go back and experience everything on Friday. It was awesome. - Awesome time in Iowa. First time in 20 years, happy game day. Got back there to celebrate ball. And we appreciate everybody that came out and celebrated alongside of us. You know, there was four or five different chance for me to take my shirt off throughout that entire show age, you know? - Yeah, yeah, what is that? - I know, the first time this season that that has happened, you know, across the South, maybe earlier in the year would have been nicer, but I genuinely don't know what I'm supposed to do whenever it's just, you know, I don't know what I'm supposed to do. The first four times I'm standing out there and they start chanting it. You know, why is we're standing in that, I forget what the stage is called. It's basically a circle when it was Meet Des and Reese out there. And I was talking about special teams. And we have this plate. We're seeing people standing in the windows on buildings over here, just fucking crazy scene. Couple of lads starts with two to three, then it picks up to like 10 to 20, then 30, then about 100 people as we're standing off camera, chanting for me to take it off, you know? And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Later, later, later, later, they go, okay. So then that wraps up. And as I'm walking back, I get back up on set, people up in the front, take it off. I'm like, whoa, whoa, later, later, later. So at the very end, they start chanting it as I'm in the middle of my pick. And my brain actually doesn't have enough power to be able to think, oh, gotta take the sleeve button. (laughing) - Good buttons. - Yeah. - The sleeve, I wasn't even expecting it, but I genuinely don't know what I'm supposed to do. If anybody has any ideas or tips I want I'm supposed to do, whenever there's hundreds of people yelling at you to take your shirt off. And now, granted, I have been working out a little bit. I do feel pretty good about where I'm at. Didn't love it. It was very nice to take my Clark for the first time of the season, but the reaction was obviously very calm. And kind of casual to this situation. So I appreciate everybody doing that. But me picking Ohio State in Iowa shirtless, he's certainly a moment I'll remember. And we can retire the shirtless taking out. No more take it off chance anywhere we go. (laughing) You know what you should be very happy. Like when you were trying to get your hand out of that out of the buttons, I thought for a second, you're gonna all of a sudden pop open, you're gonna elbow kick back in the face, right in the head or punch her in the mouth. Something like that, I was worried. - Worst case scenario. And she just got what elbowed in the mouth. - Oh yeah. - So yeah, you dodged your boat there. It was good. - Oh good. - Yeah, and then Sabin was really tight in it. - You saw it. - And I'm like, what about his arms? What if his arms get ripped off? - Yeah, he ain't come off. - That's too deep to come out. - Quick thinkin' there too, just. - I've phone handcuffed, yeah. I gotta put it all in the mouth. - Oh no. - Oh no. - I'm trying to hold it, it's amazing. - Lost the bracelet. The bracelet goes shootin' across the stage. Shout out to my daughter. She's created one of the greatest bracelets of all time here. These things still. - Stay together. - Stayin' together. - Still bringing it, still together. Still together, unbelievable. Shout out to Mackenzie. She might be a designer and this entire thing. I would say that was a special weekend though, or a special couple of days in Iowa. and very thankful for it. very thankful for it. And I think I still only have one game that I've gotten wrong that we've visited to tonight. What will it be? We'll make our official picks. We'll also do our overreactions on the other side. We got to hit all the headlines from the weekend. Baseball bringing it. Baseball bringing it big time. Got to talk about that and obviously got to talk about every other thing that happened around the sports world including WMBA playoffs. Yeah. Of course. He was locked in. What was he? Oh yeah. I thought the Aces beat the fever in the championship though. No. No. The Aces lost the first game. New figures with the boundaries. Page pockets kind of didn't have a great game to close it out. It's a playoff basketball. Playoff hoops. I ain't like Kelsey Mitchell says that I don't feel comfortable being a fever player. She's one of best players. I like that one bit. Fucking with Kelsey. We love you. I love you. Kelsey. It's a tough time. It's a tough time for that organization. I know. Yeah. Feels like there might be a little bit of an overhaul huh? Hey? A bit. A bit. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe everybody comes back and just says, oh this is what it is. I guess whenever the eyes of the world are honest. You know. Yeah. This is kind of out of the pressure. This is the pressure that happened. Kelsey Mitchell's. We can't lose. Kelsey Mitchell. No. Hey. We can all lose. He's gone. He's out here. No. No. No. Kelsey. Kelsey. Kelsey. We cannot have the disease. He's gone. Yeah. No. No. No. No. We need her. We need Kelsey. The book. She just scored another 20 points. Fever her out. She scored 20 still. So that is what is going on there. Okay. Let's get to a break on the other side. We wrap everything up. Be a friend to a friend. Something nice. My change of life. Take. Bye. Bye. Hello beautiful people and welcome back to this glorious overreaction Monday. October 5th, 2026. Our three in this program begins. All right. Now. Football. It is the absolute greatest. We're so incredibly lucky that we get a chance to chat about it every single day. That's AJ Hawk. The toxic table is also over there in the Thunderdome at Boston Conor and at Thai Schmidt. One half of the hammer died. Cowboys. AP tone is over their tone. Tell me a little bit about the trends of the gambling this weekend for the NFL and even college if you'd like to devil. Sir. Yeah. So a big thing last week for us was home dogs. They were six and two last week. They were three and three this week. So still not bad for home dogs as far as winning the football game. And then the one thing we were talking about we've been keeping track of all season was teams coming off a 20 point loss. They were two in one this weekend. The Packers got a win to England got a win coming off a 20 point loss. The only team to lose coming off a 20 point loss was Philadelphia Eagles because they look like absolute garbage in that situation as far as just, you know, totals and stuff like that. The dogs were 10 and five so far this week. And then the over was overs are eight and seven. So a little close on that but it's been a bit of the dogs as of late. I love that the dogs are continuing to hunt and I also appreciate the fact that with these one score games a J the difference between being one and three and oh and four and three and one and four and oh are just like what three plays but definitely for some of these things. That is that is the greatness of the NFL. Nine year NFL vet Derrius J. Butler is here. Yes, everybody much, a lot of people mad about the refs and the amount of flags. I do don't I don't think it's sustainable but maybe they're just trying to set precedent early that they're still in charge now that they got their new CBA deal done. Maybe I don't like it though. I don't want the rest to be the part of the conversation. We've got all these great players, great quarterbacks, great coaches. We want them to be the conversations, not the refs. So hopefully they figured out it's funny this weekend. I saw this post of like all the refs and they're like side jobs or what they actually do. So it's interesting that there comes out the same weekend that they you know, however many flags in the last 11 years which is crazy. So hopefully this is kind of the end of them been in our top five at least. Today we have a lot of really good skill position players D-Butt. We highlighted them earlier. C.D. K9 and T-Mac obviously a three would like to talk about this weekend but we got some non quarterback MVP conversations abruing a D-Butt. We certainly do. I love when guys heard feature offensive play callers getting them feature and then the quarterbacks getting the ball to them. So yeah K9, C.D. and T-Mac they definitely led the way but every week we see somebody. Even somebody we don't expect Parker watched they had to run. He kind of fell off there. So somebody week to week that shows up. That's what this league is about. You just mentioned the 20 point stat. That's a week to week thing. Look we got the Browns and the fucking Giants and the top good decisions right now. So I mean this league man that's why this league is the best. Yeah certainly is ratings are through the roof we assume that will only continue. There are fans around the league that have given up hope. There are fans around the league who have smoked on the pipe of we might win the damn Super Bowl this year. There's nothing in between. You're either all the way in or all the way out. This morning I put out a bird call saying hey listen we have arrived at another magical overreaction Monday. I want to hear from you. All you have to put in your tweet is hashtag #I don't want to overreact. But, damn it Bruce I appreciate that. It became a number one trend in the United States of America. We appreciate everybody participating. We know it's not about us. It's about ball but we are lucky that we can be the conduit of these conversations. Our first one here is from Derrius J. Butlery. Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But the Texans defense doesn't scare us all. They surprisingly are the main reason the Texans are completely defeated and almost certainly heading towards the shite division big surprise. But especially with the Miko Rines as your head coach. Huge surprise. All the question all the talk was about CJ Stroud coming into this year. You had the contract issues. Is he going to get paid then then don't mention earlier. CJ Stroud is no business being owned for so he's kind of doing his part but this defense. The past Russia is there unbelievable. The secondary have been getting absolutely slaughtered. Camari Lacer is one of my favorite corners in the league last year. He's had a rough go at it so far. So I'm shocked that this defense is kind of the reason. Now as a coach fan I kind of love it. I kind of love that it will be in the shite division. You can almost guarantee that being completely defeated at this point in the season. But I am a fan of the Miko Rines. I like JJ Watt. I do like CJ Stroud and the boy. So I hope they turn around and get it figured out. But for right now it's ugly right now and he's. Yeah that's why you don't want to ever react. But completely defeated not great stats for the playoffs. Let's go to the next one. This one's from Storm Duffy. Storm Duffy says hashtag. I don't want to react. But the bongos are back. Zach Taylor needs to give a play calling or give up on coaching the bangles. He is the definition of coaching mile practice. Every fucking week also Joey burrow needs to get his head out of his ass and play better. Fuck everything. Ty was there a lot of this from bangles fans around the internet. Yeah and this is a couple years in a row now. You know, basically every time they lose it is. Hey, Zach Taylor is basically just ruining these guys potential. Not just Joe burrow, but you know, Jamar T Higgins, you name it. It was the defense for a little bit. But yeah, I mean, it sounds like outside of the bangles winning a Super Bowl. I think people pretty much unanimously want Zach Taylor to be fired. And that's unfortunate, but that's kind of the situation they find ourselves. They threw the ball 54 times with 12 called rushes as well. So that's I think that's a big part of it here is why they're they're upset with the situation there right now. Same story new year. AJ even picked against the bangles this weekend. If I do recall, AJ, you're grown up outside of Cincinnati and Dayton in centerville as a bangles fan. You played for the bangles. You've turned on them. You don't even think to have a chance now. No, I have not turned on them. I just can't stand with the Jags. You know, as far as the spread goes and I obviously I picked right I guess on this week, but I didn't know they're going to throw the ball 54 times. I mean, you have to have some kind of balance. I would think I think what chase brown nine rushes for 10 yards. Yes. Yeah, you can have to do a 54 10. I think Joe even said afterwards he wants to throw it more. I saw in a post game presser. So who knows what's going to happen there. I think they could still turn around. That's who they paid though. You know, they paid two ones as wide receiver and they got a quarter bag of pay. It's like we know they're going to throw the ball. That's what they are. So I guess acting surprised that they don't have a lot of balance is something we've been doing for like two years now, three years. But we just hope that it would be different this year for the bangles fans. Sounds like if you listen old Duffy, there he is. Same old year, same old trash, same old shite, same old bungles. I don't love that for them. It's way too early in the season to give up hope with Joey Burrows, your quarterback. But maybe it is time to hang it up as a bangles fan. Come over to Colts. Come over to Colts. How close Cincinnati Indianapolis agent? That's not too far. That's quite hard. Two hours. I want to have. I want to have two hours. Come on over. We're playing terrible and winning. Yeah, that's at least a little bit more fun. Let's go to the next one here. It's from Sleeper Chiefs hashtag. I don't want to overreact. But the NFL thought there was a light at the end of the tunnel with the Chiefs dynasty. Well, sometimes the light is a freight train named Kenneth motherfuckin walker. Rangers lost their Super Bowl in week four. The chargers will be selecting a first overall and the Broncos are frauds. All Wildcands City is the only undefeated team left in the AFC. Dread it, run from it. The Chiefs arrive all the same. The Chiefs are still the Chiefs they're saying AJ Hawking, I believe him. It's actually a little bit different now that they had a K9. I actually feel better about this chief's team than I have in the past because of Kenneth Walker and what he is able to do like what we talk about the time if he's able to stay healthy with how Travis Kelsey has looked as well man like they might retiree Hill to this roster the chiefs are an absolutely scary team to think of especially like right now like I think they're even going to be a much better team in two months from now than they are right now. Deba they thought the window was closed on his dynasty I think they were wrong. Yeah I don't know who thought that long as 15 is suiting up they got a chance he's been superman he's kind of been the Michael Jordan of this generation it might just be ready for that all the next three people like MJ did at the end but yeah AJ just mentioned you mentioned it having K9 you do have questions at the receiver position but receive been banged up obviously the ugly injury with Thornton but defensively I like what they do as well they have a lot of pieces need came back he's playing well Delane he's been unbelievable as a rookie I like how they match him up and some downs with Brock Bowers we talked about Brock Bowers a bunch last week so I like what they have defensively as well so yeah the chiefs they're a scary scary team to face right now. Connor how many times had the Patriots dynasty been deemed dead for every they were on their run. Oh after 2004 I'd say day near every single year and definitely after the undefeated season where they kind of blew it in the end of the Giants but I mean that's part of the thing you know you kind of need that in order to motivate those types of people you say at all the time you know my homes there's a lead level competitors they almost want to be ruled dead so that they can use that to fuel the fire. We talked about it all off season first time we seen Patrick my home is like dotted you know not talked about kind of overlooked he didn't even have his best game and I I think he would probably say hasn't played as best that he could be yet but they're still getting wins in a big way shot to Travis Kelsey looking fast as well you talking about Debo Sammy looking fast to George kiddo looking fast Travis Kelsey looks young as well good to see let's go to Philadelphia yes this is from MG underscore a lot of hashtag I don't want to react but this ego theme is fucking off especially cam jerk off in the office of mine. Jalen's running for his life in sorry ony couldn't care less and no one or J love sucked he had man in his coach I'm sick of this shit with that set London here we come hashtag fire everyone tone how do you feel about the Philadelphia John's reacting normally to another loss for the Eagles I've been noticing this on the on the internet it's crazy because this you know exemplifies that there's one guy in there that gets the Eagles fans give zero shit to Jalen hurts why does he get no shit he looks like absolute ass out there but it's Syrian he's fallen it's the old lines fault it's the O C's fault but it's never the guy under centers for and tell you what these two eyes how it looks like it's his fault of it as well so it's confused by that you weren't serious don't even know if they're on the ball or off the ball at this stage and did you hear this John this John doesn't think it's Jalen hurts he's only got one eye at the end of the target and kick a field gold bad coaching again Siriani blew the game again for the onsmos times yeah wait cabolis and Eagles yeah the most time the ball was out there he said that's John caboli WN caboli I think you're saying the utmost amount of times is what are you trying to say but utmost and months come together there he had it if the Eagles win he don't have that fuck up what you saying even more so I'm talking about this guy's ruining my life now I can't speak English he's ruining the Eagles let's go the next one here this is from mini 93 hashtag I don't want to react but give price the MVP already the Carolina Reaper will hoist the Lombardi don't ever come to the bank and think you can dab on him dab that ass back to Detroit lions your window has closed and Campbell without Ben Johnson is just a can of soup deep bonding I like where Caroline is that with this confidence the but as a former Carolina Panther you'll love it as well I love where that love of the bank is rocking I love Bryce showing up on prime time yeah he's just look unbelievable watching the tape don't mention it when you're watching these games live especially from the wide shot I'm looking at coverage I'm like okay you can almost assume where the read is where you're going to try to go to and it seems like Bryce is doing it even faster than I am from my couch which is unbelievable impressive we see these clips from the pocket or the POVs from training camp or something we know how difficult it is to play quarterback but he's been playing unbelievable he did this obviously T-Mac had a huge huge night but he was down a couple of his top targets as well on the outsides this is and I'm ready yeah and yeah what it would like three or four in and out just crazy so what he's doing with the play call is doing it's unbelievable it's damn Morgan and David can Alice have done a great job David Tepper has let them do their thing because he has confidence in him and on the flip side the lions tie are they dead tie I know you love that in the NFC North but geez Louise what the hell is going on they got Gibbs gives his unstoppable Jared golf is proven to be great they've seemingly not been able to stop anybody and we love big ship what the hell is going on time yeah I'm not going to say they're dead and that would be you know very callous of me because the packers are still kind of hammer dog shit just kind of you know hanging on by a thread week by week but boy I tell you what this does not look like the lion's teams we have been accustomed to the last couple years and it certainly doesn't feel like a team that could go win even the division at this point I don't know I mean it's just never a good thing when and they don't even really feel like the bills who it kind of feels like have to score you know 42 points every week to win because they're they're off their defense just can't stop anybody it can't and eventually you put that much pressure on golf and all the all those guys like even last night they had an opportunity to drive down late and before you know it's like you get three incomplete passes then it's fourth and 12 backed up like it never it never actually felt like they were going to drive the length of field and score and with lion's teams in the past it has so I won't say they're dead yet but boy they need to get their shit figured out very quickly because it feels like the bears even with the the Vikings being undefeated are the best team in that division by a wide wide margin big win for the pack yeah you find a way that's right find a way survive in advance you know that and they tried they tried every and they tried to give that game away every way they could you know couple red zone turnovers you know couple third and 15s and longer let Jalen Daniels you know kind of scramble pick up a first down shitload of penalties again but that's weekend week out we're not worried about that yeah dropping you exactly dropping touchdowns offensive line looked a little bit better so it's something to that's something to hang your hat on and then you're the best player on the defense towards the killies so that's not great but hey two and two you know you just got to tread water until you get mica back and then everything changes and sudden you know you're one of the best teams in the NFC again when they had mica last year they were when they didn't have mica they're one of the worst teams so I could see how the hope to stay around be in it until mica gets back to be a real one we'll see how it pans out for the old packers let's go to the next one this is from Fudgems 52 I think it's Dana Lovsky's burner hashtag I don't ever react but Justin Herbert has never looked this bad McDaniel is clearly the problem but it's too early to fire him if we do who has the most experience call plays on the team if you haven't looked it's Adam Gase oh and four burn it all down maybe Jim Harbock always but maybe this is a long con you know because there was the McDaniel Miami to a situation and two at Herbert will be judged next to each other forever he's McDaniel trying to cook up a two is better than her thing and he's post Miami Dolphins let's go to a Dolphins fan gumpy is that potential if he was still with the dolphins I'd be on board with this but turns out they both might just stink cheese he won't make Daniel after all we won't go to bat for two I did I did my part for that man for far too long as far as I feel that's how Dolphins fans feel that's how Dolphins fans being in Chuck McDaniel what's your fans are very worried go ahead what do you mean debug I mean I'm putting let's say 80% of the blame 80 because Dan came on here a couple weeks ago and he said hey look is everybody but Herbert and to Tony's point the same thing hey Jalen hers yeah Jalen hers you stink look he let 10 different coordinates 11 years whatever it is you're stink you right now you got to figure out some reason why quarterbacks get paid 50 and $60 million is because they make their coordinators look better they make the backups look better they make their offensive line look better but when you're watching these interceptions it's not like D.V.s or linebackers are making incredible plays and tight coverage he's throwing meatballs up we had to see J.J. one where it's like pre snap he's sitting in the post you throwing the post in Seattle everybody knows they run these type of coverages he's throwing the ball and Dan mentioning it if one guy doesn't pick it it's a guy right behind him five feet ready to pick it off so yeah as a quarterback you got to see it you're obviously getting the calls you got a new play caller whatever that's what you got practice training camp for figure it out the guys is making the most money you got to figure this shit out so Justin Herbert Jalen hers everybody else figure this shit out all right yeah a lot of season left but not really if you look at the stats if you already asked there's a change you gonna end up ask AJ Justin Herbert dead no I can't I can't call him dead right now but I mean two more weeks you start out oh and six and you continue to turn the ball or not play great I have a hard time then come back to schedule oh and six it'd be worse yeah it'd be worse never thought that and training camp you know that that's where that's where this team would be big day you'll be tough first yeah there was a hint that it could is something's going to happen like this from training kit. Yeah, what's up just a solution. Yeah, I use motion button. Oh, yeah. Oh God. There was questions. I mean you got to think about it No, we don't have to think about it guys in love. I'm happy for him playing like ass people not happy about it It's got the next overreaction. It's from Sacramento, wore as hashtag. I don't want to react Ben Johnson is the football gods a ball Putting on a clinic no matter the quarterback more first on than the Jets head place pack week coming up And worried about the comp hey Pat can you put us in contact with Indy for a Richardson one week loner hashtag bear God I do like to see him waking up in his bag feels like Ben Johnson does that on a regular basis AJ This guy's outrageous. Is he the football gods apostle? I hadn't thought about that him. He just might be Yeah, he is I think I talked about it last week He does seem to be the perfect mixture of that football offensive genius. He's a crazy man But he also is able to lead the team and be the guy to stand in front of him And he is far and away He's clearly the leader and they follow what he does going back to that picture. I like that I see they off to but that pictures like with the used to what's the movie where they say you're marrying someone's daughter They sew the dude up in a bag the night before their wedding. I think so they don't form a cake. I think that was the white True what? Yeah, the Patriot they do it. Yeah, Nick, you know, they sew the guy up in a bag So he doesn't sneak into his daughter's room and fornicate before they get married. Take a shit a piss Yeah, good question What about all the days before what about all the days before that? Yeah, I didn't really check out when you think about it It doesn't completely check out but I guess it does it's the dad saying hey if you're gonna be at my house Your dog is gonna stay in your pants I like that. I mean put your dog in your pants But if you're Ben Johnson, I think you showcase that every time you get a chance call place and It's big and it's good He's so good at calling plays. He's a great leader too good better best A.J Never let her rest her goods better and your better is best. That's what we're striving for every day last one here on every Action Monday. This is from young Leo at Sawyer 1551. Hashtag. I don't want to react It's gonna be another winning season wasted in Josh Allen's talent Joe Brady is a glorified pillow fluffer for Josh and has no control over the team Are we ever gonna figure it out? Probably not it's a damn shame. Hmm. He feels bummed out Dober down for young Leo con man huge win over the bills. You got young Leo feeling like this pal Yeah huge win I don't know what this is about really cuz I don't think Joe Brady told Josh Allen to throw that interception at the end of the game But there's also a couple other plays that Josh Allen got pretty lucky I don't know if you saw the one on the goal line where he just decided to throw it into the year Which probably could have been ruled grounding in a safety since using the end zone But yeah, it's behind the back could have been a five yard pick six, but no it is tough I mean they are in that line's category like they can't play defense. I go and into it I was saying if there was any team that you want to go up against get your offense back on that right track It's Detroit or it's Buffalo. They really just aren't good defensively I don't know if they'll ever have the guys to get it done on defense I don't go in into the year that was a question first-time play car at DC Jim Leonard and it just hasn't looked good at Any point during the season, but yeah, it is tough But if I mean if you have Josh Allen as your quarterback going into every single game You have a chance and they still have a chance when the Super Bowl. That play was absurd Yeah, that wasn't a crazy play in a it wasn't in central ground It wasn't a safety keep it moving Josh Allen football Yeah, when it matters though, you got to have a defense. Yeah, yeah I think was a Sabin who said the corners put the limitation on your defense their corners have been getting Roasted so you you got to you got to figure not the reason that is because if you don't have good corners You got to keep the safeties back that expose your linebackers in the run game So you got to have guys that can at least hold their own on the outside and they absolutely do not Thank you to all the people that responded to hashtag. I don't want to overreact But that was fun. What was to do it again? It's not just football before we make our picks We have to talk about a sport that's in the middle of its playoffs and cooking Thai baseball is really doing it I I didn't get to see a lot of it, you know because football is happening But every single time I scroll my feed I see some magical moment coming out of baseball. What happened and what do we need to know? Yeah, it's been incredible for most of these playoff games have basically been one run games Decided in late late in the game Starting with the Padres and the Brewers, which has kind of been the craziest series so far in game one You can go all the you can just fast forward to the top of the ninth Thai France Hit a deep fly ball off our guy Trevor McGill it caromed off the top of the stadium and Got caught by Jackson Cheerio for an out there's a guy on first base. They're down one run a lot of people saying like this ball is still carrying It's still going if it doesn't hit the top of the stadium This is a two run homer and the Padres are for certain taking four three lead into the bottom of the night But that's that's baseball, baby That's what happens when you play inside dome stadiums the rules say if it hits the the top of the stadium And then is it comes down in you know fair territory and the guy catches it It's an out so that's it is what it is the Brewers won the first game three two and then in game two That sounds like a base kid ball to me. Yeah, that's the real rules. That is the real rules It's also in those dome stadiums when it's late is late at night and or you know I guess in the day for that matter to you have all those lights up there It is so hard trying to track down a ball that gets hit off the top of the you know the stadium It's him now he got lucky it ended up hitting the top of the stadium and kind of just dropped right down to him Like a can of corn, but a lot of time you'll see those guys, you know having to run in every which way because it takes some weird Carams off there, but yeah, these are the rules always have been so no one could really even bitch about it It's just kind of one of those things where it's like wow the baseball gods might not be on the Padres side and then that was kind of exemplified in game two mason Miller who is maybe the the best closer since Mariana Rivera comes in in the bottom of the ninth basis loaded the Brewers are down by one and Jackson Cheerio rips One up the middle to run RBI and they walk off the Padres He also threw I believe like 30 or 40 pitches in this game so that calls into question will they be able to To have this guy later in the series, but the Brewers as it stands right now only need to win one more game to advance and kind of everything We've talked about with the Brewers thus far, you know, not a bunch of home runs. They just they just play ball the right way You know bullpen's good they they're not intimidated by anyone they get on base singles doubles steel bases work counts and They beat the the Padres and they're sitting good as they they head back to San Diego, but that wasn't the only Top flight action of the weekend. Yeah, the Dodgers and Braves the Dodgers are hosting the Braves It's currently one to one the Dodgers took game one and then in game two the Braves took game two to even up that series there So we go back to Atlanta for game three in that one So that was a huge series out there to that's the second NL series and then You know the Yanks and Yanks and Tampa had their first game as well. Didn't they? Yeah, they did and that was absolutely terrible We have one highlight, and it is a Jonathan or and a home run in the bottom of the third inning off Garrett Cole And that's all they would need because Drew Rasmussen through seven and two thirds No hit ball for the raise they win one nothing and Boy, I tell you what just silence the Yankees bats really embarrass them game two is tonight Cam Schletler the potential ALSI young is on the bump So kind of a do or die game here for the Yankees as the raise continue to Potentially be the the best team in baseball and then the last series is our guy Yes, Moon shot at Taka Murkami and the white socks are taken on the guards and in game one moon shot I hit a moon shot to the moon Just absolutely launched an absolute nuke the game one was in Cleveland game two tonight in Cleveland with the white socks Up one oh in that series and just an absolutely electric situation going on there a little bit of a run there for moon shot Taka Murkami, so if we go back from what I've learned is Coming out of Japan. He was a guy just like a lot of these Japanese guys who end up in MLB Highly sought after highly suck. They didn't think he could hit a curveball right an off-speed MLB pitch So he ends up with a Chicago white socks as opposed to the normal Japanese player pipeline that comes to America is that accurate tie like they didn't think this guy was gonna be who he is But everybody in Japan thinks he's like one of the greatest players of all time one of the biggest hitters of all time Is that an accurate depiction? Yeah, pretty much they no one was really very excited about like his glove didn't know where he'd fit Defensively and then the idea was hey this guy's unbelievable He's got crazy power numbers in Japan, but this isn't show hey, you know, so we we he might hit a lot of home runs But yeah, we don't know the curve balls, but also they didn't know if he could catch up to the velocity in the majors So yeah, he didn't get a massive contract from the Yankees or the Red Sox or the Dodgers or the Cubs or one of these teams It spends a bunch of money and kind of just fell to the white socks who had really no expect I mean they're young they've sucked for a long time So they have a lot of high draft picks and good young players, but there were next to no expectations for them this year And he's been a cornerstone piece in a massive reason why they are back in the playoffs and potentially gonna go to the ALCS Tonight white socks at guardians 5 p.m. On TBS Yankees at raise 8 p.m. On TBS white socks plus 129 Guardians minus 156 Yankees minus 123. He raised plus 102 Schlytler pitching down air that one feels good for the air I don't know, ball that well. I don't know who Tampa's pitching. I assume they got a great pitcher as well. And in Moonshot of Taka and the boys on their miraculous run, does that continue against the Guardian to best team in baseball? Is that right? - The, I mean, they have the lowest payroll in baseball. And like they just, they consistently year in, year out. Everyone looks at them in the start of the year. It's like, hey, you know exactly what you're getting and then we get to this point in the season. They're always there. They're always competitive. And it's kind of like, hey, how the hell does this team keep doing this, it makes no sense. - Also, tonight you got Falcons coming here to New Orleans. Let's make our picks and get the hell out of here. AJ, you did a fantastic job. You have to make congratulations. - Thank you very much. (clapping) - Congratulations. You are 8-5-1, I was 6-7-1. I'm looking to become 500 on the weekend. You have another dub under your belt. How do you see tonight's game going? AJ was D-Butt, first D-Butt. Saints favored by a point and a half at home. How do you feel? - I feel like this is a pretty evenly matched team. I mean, it's right to see how Michael Penning's junior looks. Again, now it's his second starter of the season. We know what Shuck is. I'm gonna go with the home field advantage. And then I'm going with the Saints. - Okay, you got the Saints minus one and a half. - Yep. - Shuck in the Lads. Let's go to the Toxic Table. Boys, how do you see it going? - Yeah, I mean, I'm a corn shucker as well. I think it's just gonna be New Orleans. You mentioned it inside that stadium. You guys talked about it at length. It's Marty Graw every single Sunday. Or in this case Monday night when it comes to that place. So I am also gonna go Saints minus one and a half and the Shuck man gets it done. - And it could just be a recency bias, but I really liked what I saw from the Falcons last week when their offense is on at least last week. It was and it was incredibly dangerous and incredibly explosive. So I will take the Falcons and the points. - Ty having a little bit of a Carolina Panther situation this season, where Ty and the Packers lost to the Panthers. And Ty started saying, that's good football team. As we dance back and forth with the tail of the tape, which we'll dive into here in a second now. The Falcons blow out the Packers on Thursday night. Ty goes, that's a good football team. Let's get to the tail of the tape. I like where your head's at Bruce. The tail of the tape tonight tells you that the rushing offense for the Falcons really good Saints middle of the pack. The passing attack though. Panics back last week, is that change your stats? Does that mean anything? Point scored, does that mean anything? Rush defense, how you doing? We run the ball and we stop the run for the Falcons. On the other side, Kelly Moe, in shock, great pass and attack. Everything else kind of mid-range. Falcons might have found their new identity with Panics's or quarterback. AJ, who do you like? How do you like? Is your seeing the board pretty well right now? - Yeah, I don't, when you put the tail of the tape up there, if you want to go on the road and win the hostile environment, what do you do? You run the ball and you stop the run. That is the formula. But with that being said, I know that's a special place. That's a tough place to play. And I like what this New Orleans Saints team is doing. Chase Young, I think has three and a half sacks already. This year seems to be playing very well early on. Give me the Saints minus one and a half at home. - I like it. The Saints might, one and two, that could be one, one and one though. You know, they chose at the end of overtime to go for a win for a two-planky version as opposed to a tie. Didn't love the play call, but they could have just kicked the extra point and tied that thing. They chose not to, all right, I'll get my pick tonight. I'll get my pick tonight. Not in the matters, 'cause you're already one. - But I think you guys know which way I'm in it, I think. - It matters. - Yo, I don't know. - Really? - No. - No, no, no, no, cool. - I love how much she's fans hate each other too. That's me. - Yeah, see me. - It's good internet. - Great night on the internet. - I mean, pretty mean, but yeah, ruthless. - Yeah, but I mean. - A lot of mean in and of. - That's all this fair. - How's about saying the internet? The X in particular has become pretty mean. It's like some pretty mean, it's hard for me to get in there. Am I retiring for that place? Well, I'll be tough life changed for me, if I just decide not to look at anymore. I think I'm gonna have to though, age. - You get some dog with down. - Pick and choose, right, couldn't you? Maybe. - I don't think so. - Oh or not. - Maybe do a little test run. Maybe a little test run for a couple days. - These people are pretty talented. - Three thousand people, some of them aren't even people though. - It's higher social media manager. - A lot of bots. That seems to work. - I hate that. I hate that. Everything about that. - How about that bartender from Ohio? Did you see some of the stuff you say to me? You said some rude stuff there. I sometimes I like to just let people know like the actual messages that I get, you know. 'Cause a lot of people go, "This guy saw things. "Fuck him." But it's like, am I ever allowed to defend myself and say like, "Hey, this is fucking fucked up." - That this stuff's happening? No, shut up you. Okay. That's what that guy was calling me too. He's the least. - That was everybody so mean for. We're doing ball. We're enjoying the hell out of it. Tonight will be special. Can't wait for it all. Appreciate you, AJ. You're the man. - Yes sir. Good to be here. - Safe travels back to Ohio. Boys, I'll see you guys tomorrow. I can't wait to see you. What a time in Iowa. - Oh, great times. - Yeah. Awesome. - Look crazy. - What a time in Iowa. Hey, Gumpy. Good work, Paul. - Good job, buddy. - We got a ball. - Good work. - Hey, Gump. - Hey, buddy. - Everybody that set us up here, we appreciate you so much.
