PMS 2.0 1629 - MNF Recap, Ian Rapoport, Rece Davis, Brewers Manager Pat Murphy, Davante Adams, Ole Miss Head Coach Pete Golding, Chris Gotterup, Darius Butler, & AJ Hawk

The Los Angeles Rams began their season with a dominant win, showcasing a physical and disciplined defense led by Aaron Donald, whose return was both timely and impactful—demonstrating improved stats and a strong physical presence. Devonta Adams delivered a standout performance, significantly elevating the offense with explosive catches and 195 yards. Meanwhile, the Giants’ game collapsed after quarterback Jackson Davis suffered a severe MCL sprain in a sandwich-style hit, prompting immediate medical action and raising concerns about his availability and future. Backup quarterback James Winston struggled visibly, underscoring the difficulties of being a backup in high-pressure situations. Across the league, multiple injuries—including Tyson Beijing’s hamstring and Alec Pierce’s re-aggravated heel—highlight the growing volatility in player health. The Rams remain focused on recovery and growth, maintaining a resilient mindset despite early setbacks. The analysis also notes the increasing challenges of backup quarterback roles and the unpredictability of injuries, with several teams facing significant disruptions. The season’s early moments reflect a mix of promise, resilience, and risk, with key players like Donald and Davis returning to shape the narrative. Overall, the Rams appear confident in their roster and trajectory, while the rest of the league grapples with injury challenges and the strain of high-pressure, high-risk football.

for people. And welcome to our humble abode. The Draft King's Thunderdome on this big sports Tuesday. September 22nd, 2026. This sports program begins now is the absolute greatest congratulations to the Los Angeles Rams who start their season with a win. Congrats to them. From everybody I talked to around the Los Angeles Rams. I think they all just said, you know what, Australia just didn't happen. Okay, let's just act like it didn't happen. Let's move along. We got a learning lesson from it. Coach McVeigh came out and called himself a dumbass with the plans in which he had for the Australia game. But if you chat around there, they're still very much in favor of their team being great this year. They still very much believe in their roster. They know that Miles Garrett, although he's not playing right now, whenever he gets back, he's only going to add to a defense that was able to stop the run last night pretty well against New York. Giants him that we were all talking about becoming maybe the most physical or maybe the most dominant team in the NFC as a whole. The Rams Matthew Stafford went back in time, did some shit that he did in the past and speaking of going back in time, the time capsule was not only just Matthew Stafford. It was also Devonta Adams, who was the number one wide receiver. The number one option as Pukin Nakua was ruled out with some hip tightness and Devonta Adams on crazy. He talked to Scott Fampelt afterwards and he said, you know, just like a shooter gets hot early, he started making some catches some high outside catches. All of a sudden, you know, things started rolling. 195 yards, couple of cuts, Devonta Adams on back on top of the world. And Matthew Stafford looked a lot better than he looked down there in Australia. Now, whenever you think about the Los Angeles Rams defense, Aaron Donald coming back, that's a huge deal, right? Certainly is. He had three tackles, tackles for loss. I believe he got in there. He chatted afterwards about, yeah, it was perfect, first game back. And then he even mentioned like, you go back and look at some of my other stats, first couple games. He was like, you know, we're trying to get into it at all. I like the way he was seemingly defending what happened. And also, I think he knows exactly where he wants to be when he wants to be. Him coming out of that tunnel, getting introduced last. Now, it wasn't filled up. And you got to remember five o'clock game. Yeah. Five 15 local, five 20 local game on Monday in Los Angeles. That's a tough place to travel, obviously with the traffic. So people were filing in, literally as the game was kicking off and a little bit after the game kicked off. But the pop rare in Donald was huge. When he came out for the early warm up period, there's people watching the cameras were absolutely insane. Chuck him and maybe one of the best players, maybe the best player to ever play defensive football when it's all said and done. I'm happy to see he didn't have his dober down, even though he didn't have like five sacks, six sacks, which I think we all potentially thought could happen. Afterwards, he said, I'm right where I want to be. Got a chance to see less need. I like that he's just stressed out through games evil and ever. They're doing well. That was fantastic to watch a witness in the Los Angeles Rams entire operation. So hospitable. Now, for the other side of the coin, man, Jackson dark getting hurt again. And I know this is something, especially this injury, because this seemed like a freak. Just incredibly unlucky, disgusting sandwich, hyper extensions, brain MCL on the knee. Now it was being reported last night that he wanted to go back into the game. Obviously, he walked off. They had to take his jersey and his helmet from him because it was scared. He was just going to go on there and sub himself him, whatever they didn't want him. Now there's obviously conversation about how many games will he miss, even though he wanted to go back on the field last night. I think he is constantly trying to prove to people that he is not an injury guy or a fragile body guy. I think this particular injury right here very unlucky. I don't know how that is something he could have avoided. Maybe step up in the pocket, maybe make a better decision earlier, but that hit happening where it happened, how it happened, disgusting stinks. And for the entire Giants, simply took the win out of his. Yeah, and James Winston came in. He's probably a lot football. He's probably a lot of football. And you know, when he was back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, okay, way back. Let's go way back in time. The reason why we liked him then, now we like him because the things he says are just electrifying. But back when he was playing for the Bucks, that's why we liked him. We liked him because he would have that type of throw. Then in next drive, he would come out and throw a 70 or 80 yard touchdown. Then in next drive, he would throw another interception. Then in next drive, it would be like an 80 yard touchdown. It was, James Winston football was kind of Carson Wentz football, but it was actually at a historic level. Most amount of interceptions, most amount of past touchdowns. It was something that we never seen before. Then we find out that James Winston was actually blind. He had no idea what was going on. Dunder made a lot of sense because he would see a group of people. I think he would just throw it in there. Had no idea if it was his team or the other team. It was ending up in somebody's hands at a historic record pace. Last night, some throw a pick didn't see much else. I mean, just it's not it wasn't a true lock situation when Drew lock comes in and seemingly just picks right up off his body guard and just kind of gets going. Obviously Marcus Mario does going to be playing for the Washington commanders and then Tyson Beijing is going to be playing maybe potentially for the Chicago Bears when Ben Johnson said he's going to miss some time. Then he said we don't know if he's going to practice, but he's still my play next Monday night. We're already seeing the backup quarterbacks in a pretty big way here. Don't like it. Don't love the trend that's happening. But last night, I don't think there was anything anybody could have done to avoid that. Neighbors gets a little bit banged up. And on defense aside, I think we should show our respects a little bit. Javon Holland is having an absurd start to the season. Last week against the Cowboys does a sliding cradle catch right off the ground. And then last night has interception and peanut punch out with the recovery on top of it. I think there's some good shit coming out of the Giants still. But boy, they looked a lot different than week one and so did the Los Angeles Rams. Good for them. I think they think they're having a 16 game season. You remember when Sugar Shaw and O'Malley lost that fight because his foot dropped. And he just didn't count it. That just doesn't count. Feels like there might be a mindset amongst Rams fans and potentially around the Rams are like, yeah, it happened, but not really. Let's get back on track. They lose that game. I think there would have been some worry. But the way they played last night, I think all Rams fans are like this, this is who we were. This is what we will be. And we're only going to get better as people get back on the field. Talk to the tables here at Boston Conor and at Ty Schmidt. Ty, I guess the expectation in Dishon Watson NFL winning quarterback in 2026. That's right. After week one, he came out. He wasn't fixing his earring with a $100,000 bracelet on and the watch while saying something that people didn't want hearing. Right. But he did say something like, yeah, media wants being 305 touchdowns of 400 yards or whatever. That's I don't think that's what media is warning. I don't think we just want to have some successful football. He does this entire thing. Whenever you think about James Winston back up quarterbacks and what's happening around the entirety of the NFL quarterback play going to be good quarterback play going to be bad quarterback play going to be the best quarterback play going to be the worst. What do you expect from the season this early already? I mean, it certainly stinks that we already have multiple guys going down because listen, you mentioned it. We love James. He was in the tunnel. They picked it up on the Monday night football cameras doing his goofy ass. He was doing it before the game. I don't think he had any idea. It was good. You know, the events we're going to transpire and he was going to be playing two series into it. But man, it really does like this game was unwatchable pretty much after the in terms of just it being competitive and being excited that we might get a good four quarters of football that you throw that out the window after the first two possessions and that part of it really stinks because we get more blowouts and it's just that's not what we want to see. You worry about that being on prime time games. But it's still the NFL and there's plenty of other. I mean, like the Rams look great. So you kind of take that with a grain of solace. Okay. So the expectations on James, we could have been comparing him to Drew Lock. The expectations on Aaron Donnell. What were they for us, Ty? You think you think out? I was thinking Aaron Donnell, especially when he came out. Okay, he came running out. He looked fast. Can't remember trying to run down with his entire that. I don't like as somebody who has only been able to run out of the tunnel twice in my career. I think once in college, once in the NFL, I don't like the social media camera people run out of the tunnel. Okay. I don't like one bit. You haven't earned it. I think you make a shot worse whenever we're all watching. I got to see some trying to catch up with Aaron Donnell running back there. And I know your social clip is going to be lit. But it's like, let's just let Aaron Donnell the moment that he is the guy played football his entire life became one of the best ever has done a two year retirement. This is him coming back home basically under the field. And it's not just him. We got somebody right behind him trying to run with an iPhone so they could get it's like get the fuck off the field. Okay. So sick. Yeah, I bet it's so sick and everybody sees it. Not everybody on Monday. I mean, just get off the field. Okay. Like that is I don't love that. I do like the access that we have in the concept that we have. But Aaron Donnell has committed his entire life to football to have that moment right there. And maybe we should just kind of let him have his entrance. And maybe others have earned it as well. Who are in the NFL are getting introduced to a crowd of people before they go run their faces into each other. But nonetheless, and then Tarty, I thought Aaron Donnell was going to have five maybe 10 sacks last night. I think that was a little bit uncalled for me. Maybe those expectations were a little uncalled for. Yeah, maybe. I mean, but like you said, he is arguably maybe the greatest defensive player of all time. I think I didn't think he was going to statistically dominate. I was just expecting like we'll feel his presence. And we certainly did. Even though we talked a lot about going in Harbaugh and bully ball and all this stuff. And the Giants offensive line being much better. So I didn't expect him to come in wrecked shop and have five sacks. But, you know, I mean, we felt his presence. It was evident that Aaron Donnell is back on the football field. Hembo stats, Connor. I don't know if you saw this. We got stats for everything. Oh, yeah. Aaron Donnell's average get off last night, 0.75 seconds. 13% quicker than his career average, 1.86 seconds. Yeah, shout the NFL next to him. That's nine year NFL that Deris J Butler. You see that? Aaron Donnell's better, faster than he was two years ago. Maybe it was just load management for two years for Aaron Donnell to start the second half of his entire career. I mean, my mind's blown right now. Just can't even imagine. Just just. Oh, I kind of get that last night. Yeah, I got it. I did see that. I don't know, I wonder what the time was with that. I'm sure him, Bo had a clock on that as well, but it was great. It was great to just see him out there. And honestly, for me, just for him to get through that game, healthy, obviously, we expect Aaron Donner to be great. Anytime he touches the football field, we all talked about it arguably the greatest defensive player to touch the field with what he's put on. But, you know, been away from the game for those years and then coming back, I just wanted to see, I'm glad that the Ram stuck to the script as far as, you know, whatever played, the snap count to half one. I think they said 30. I think he played a little bit more than that, but having that TFL and big third down against big nause, and just getting through that game, I'm sure for him, it was anxiety with some nerves getting through that healthy. He said, "Oh, I felt a little tired." But I feel like from here, it only goes up. So this game won TFL, next game is a couple TFLs of the sack. Next game is two sacks, two TFLs. And I expect to see the Aaron Donner that we've become accustomed to. And then, when Miles Garrett saw him walking around no crutches, he looks like, you know, he'll be healthy soon as well. So that's gonna be very, very ugly once those guys are healthy together. You mentioned Aaron Donner getting a big time stop against nausea on a goal-line package. Do they not have Scataboo? Scataboo in the paint was our super boots last night. And for some reason, they're close to the paint. They got a guy who runs through actual buses. Okay, in walls, that's what he does. He puts his massive head and puts it and runs goal. He does this football. This is all the time. Kickoff returner, he's running goal-line package. He's stat-backed goal-line package. It's first down, he's running goal-line package. Why the fuck do we not have Scataboo? Sorry for that, for, you know, the muting there of five seconds in the show. I know that's not great. I have people that do tell me they're sick of that. A lot of people say like, why is your audio drop on ESPN? It's like, that's not a try. It's us where it, it's only like two words, we're not gonna say it really. And we sometimes can't do it. But whenever a cam Scataboo is not getting the ball, down there, what the hell are we doing? It feels like we started out good with these super boosts, but now they're almost working against us. And that was very evident when they got nause out there, instead of Scataboo. We like nause. We've watched those with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is a big man. So I guess just if you look at him, big guy, he should do it. Scataboo is big back. That is literally, is this not what he was built for? Is this not what the entire thing is? We won't judge them entirely for seemingly attacking our super boost directly in this multiple case. But it was interesting that we didn't hit yet again. One half of the hammer, that Cowboys AP tone. I'm already starting to get, I assume you are as well. We got to find one here. And last night it feels like we should have, but yet again, we're on the wrong side. We're letting people die. I mean, soon as Jackson Dart went off, went out, that one was pretty much dead. Um, I mean, that was emotionally Scataboo was an absolute mess after that happened. His buddy went out, he does not have the capabilities to rein that back in and play football after that. So we were kind of done after that situation. But no, they tried that cool little under-center toss right back to the back to Scataboo. That was right behind him. That always works really well where they ran into each other. And then yeah, they gave it to Najee. It was, but once Jackson went out and they didn't have to respect what Jackson can do as a runner, that was absolutely dead in the water because James, he could complete and do nothing. Yeah, it was tough for the offense for the Giants. Obviously, Javon Holland was trying his absolute best. I loved the way he played. James Swinston in the game because Jackson Dart has sprained MCL. Joining us now is a man who might have a little bit more info. Junior. We need better out of James. I don't know how you like that, bro. James 32, we've seen him his highs. You mentioned it earlier, I know we got Junior on, but I mean, I didn't expect James to look that bad. He looked terrible. Terrible. We like James as a guy. We like James on the mic. I need to like James on the football field again. They're gonna need you. Just keep it a thought right now. It's a good team. It's a good brain trust when he off to the side when it comes to coaching. James, you got to figure it out. They don't have a third quarterback. Only two quarterbacks. Yeah. So James was to go down last night. Stadibu might be on the center and I'll tell you. Oh, my bear better. We have no idea. That's right. Every errands. Yeah. Then Donna's probably actually getting into work. Well, paracardic quarterback. He is gigantic. He wasn't in the game either. So that's weird. So me and there was a part of my night count down last night that an idea that was pitch, you know, because Steven A. Jones shows. Nice to see Steven. I was my first time seeing him in person and a long time. He has obviously residents out there in LA. It was good to see him. I could congratulate him on his political punditry. And I asked him how that world is. That has to be terrible. Every time I get thrown in there, it is the worst time of all time. So I appreciate that. And obviously, how many years he's been around. But that's going to have so many seats. There was an idea. Me and Jason Kelsey would just kind of walk around warmups and just kind of reporting what we're seeing. Okay. But I mean, you know, his field passes were part of the thing. I mean, we're just walking. I mean, Jackson Darcer and Patton going home just like sitting two feet away. Jason Kelsey, obviously, first bound Hall of Famer. A lot of people say a lot of stuff about Jason Kelsey on the internet. The guy might be the greatest center in the history of football. So I think he's probably allowed to talk about football. However, the only ones to do because he's one of the greatest to ever do it. It's his sport more than his yours. So I think that is something that's very fascinating, which is Kelsey. People forget. He is because he does do some of the gimmicks, so he likes to have a good time. So I think people forget this is greatest center of all time, super bowl champion and also electric to be around. I don't think anybody's ever been around him and say, hey, this isn't that good, but we're sitting right in the giants like warmups. Okay. We didn't know if you were going to come to us or not. Patrick Card walks up says, what's up? It's like, you just forget. The video walks by like Ray Buis, what up, dude, nice to see you, man. Holy shit, Arvel Reese, absolute monster, Scataboo is literally like a, like a commercial fridge, like a, a, a little like a meat, one of those meat free drinks, deep freeze, yeah. Yeah. Jackson Dart. He's thick. Like they are jagged. Little notch. They are a huge football team. Is that going to help them down the stretch? Yeah. Say healthy. Will that be something that'll later in the season be a benefit for them? Joining us now, Junior NFL insider, man who might want to see more of James, just like you. Yeah, yeah. Ian rapper. Yeah. Again. Let's go. Again. He's inside. He's going. Perfectly in the car. Yeah. You just try, you try to find a place that you could drive through that has no service. We appreciate you doing that for us, but just like, is that, is that what's going on here or what? Well, no, so I got to go into the city for Peter Shrager show, the big, big day, big day with Peter Shrager. And so this is my time to go into the season. Next week, I could leave an hour earlier if I get a good heads up and I could be in a studio doing that. I could be in Shrager studio doing your show. No, we would love you. Wow, you're very clear right now. I don't know what you're, where you're at. This is a beautiful picture of Ian Rapp report here. You're doing well by the way. I'm a moisturizer and it's certainly paying off. And we love big day with big straights breaking down all of the big place and certainly with you going. And their big play last night is Jackson Dart, just getting hit in a sandwich style in the worst possible part, potentially the outside of the knee, sprained MCL, there's reports coming out. I believe during the games, it was reported that Jackson Dart was trying to get back on the field. They had to take his jersey off him, had to hide his helmet from him. He was playing blues clues to try to find his helmet. They said, sir, we'll take your jersey too. If that's how this is going to be, now he's going to potentially miss him time. What do we know about Jackson? How much the last night was real what we were hearing? And how much is real about what we're hearing about the future for Jackson? No, I think that was real. I mean, he didn't take his jersey off until basically they told him like take your, take your clothes off. And they did have to hide his helmet. He did, you know, what do you have like ground to the field? I would probably not wear it. But the mentality is pretty clear. Wanted to be out there with his teammates, wanted to play smart of the giants to not even think about letting him play. I mean, obviously, you know, you want to protect him for this year, but the hope is this is a guy who's going to be your quarterback for like 15 years. So protecting him at all costs is important. Sprained MCL was the initial diagnosis, he's going to have an MRI probably a little bit later today. Remember, came in last night at like four in the morning or something like that because they were in L.A. So we're going to have an MRI later today. The hope is it is a few week injury, you know, is that three or four? That's what a lot of these MCLs are. I think that would be a great scenario. I would say it doesn't seem from the outset like it's a major significant injury, but you probably are going to see James for a couple weeks, which, you know, like you guys said, I was, I mean, God, it is hard to be a backup quarterback in the NFL. And I think that was a good example of that last night. Yeah, but he's been a backup quarterback in the NFL for a while now. So like he, the reason why he has this job is because he's a good backup quarterback. Backup quarterback is a very difficult position. We've talked about that ad nauseam. You don't get any reps during practice. You are expected to look like every other team's quarterback. You have to be able to run a bunch of different offenses. You have to be able to answer questions for the quarterback. You have to go speak for the quarterback to different position groups and to the coaches. You're a lot of different jobs when you're the backup quarterback. And oh, yeah, you're going to get dropped in with zero warm up. Boom. Right now it might be the biggest play of the entire game. So I'm not saying backup quarterback position is an easy one. They do get paid very well. And they're not always called upon. They're not always called upon. Great job. Yeah, it's a great job. If you can get it, James has had this particular job for a long time. So I think we all, like this guy, just like when we're watching preseason games and we have a veteran quarterback playing in a third or fourth quarter, it's like, oh, this person's going to be able to least operate in offense. That's what we think with veteran backup quarterbacks. We're seeing what drew lock right now. Just pivots to the next question, Marcus Marriota in Washington and also Tyson Beijing who just got a four year. $16 million deal, I believe, because they think he could be a good backup quarterback. In those two situations, what are we looking for long-term and have any of those answers come yet? Okay, so we'll talk about the Jayden Daniels first. He's still going through opinions to try to make sure he does the absolute 100% right thing. And, you know, the fact that he had a similar injury last year, they're going to be cautious anyway. Obviously, they're going to go through opinions anyway, but you should want to be absolutely sure. Marcus Mario is expected to start. I would expect him to start multiple games, I don't think that would be a surprise to anyone. I think the biggest decision for the commanders is does Jayden Daniels go on injury reserve hopefully not? Or does he have a chance to come back in that four-game window, hopefully. You know, that's sort of the, if he did, he'd probably come back with a brace on his left arm, which is like, not ideal, but your friend JJ Wad played with a brace on his arm for years and just going to Hall of Fame, so I think he'll be okay. Yeah, T.M. But yeah, I wouldn't expect to see Marcus Mario for at least a couple games. And, you know, Goodfit has acquitted himself well when he's been out there, so I think they will be okay. As far as the Tyson Pageant one, you know, similar situation, although you hope not as many games, it certainly seems like, you know, Caleb is unlikely to start this week. I don't think that's a surprise. This week, we'll see, two to four is generally the, you know, diagnosis for these kind of hamstring pulls. I gave a show on the video again, that's not nice, but I respect Tyson Pageant to go out there and play well as well. What do you mean we're showing the video? Yeah, this is him, whatever he's rehabbing in his hamstring. That was a good take, Debut. Yeah, smart. I didn't even think about him being so forward-thinking that he already knows that the road to recovery can start right now. And he might have been getting stim too. We don't know. Every second count. And maybe because the rain with the stim, he was going to real pain, which is why he had the towel over his head because the water was obviously, you know, it's kind of simulating through his whole thing. So, we appreciate that he was getting work on. And on that note, a ripped or pulled hamstring sucks. Oh, yeah. Very bad. There's a reason why they say like a sniper got him because when a hamstring goes, it is debilitating out there, you know, like, yeah, but I think like, I think him, you know, he's going off the war, you know, it's like he's going off the war. He just came back. I love that part. Make some good in and out. I'm like, great. There've been me to him, but that's like, like, there's been a lot of people these days. Yeah. Okay. And it just, you know, charges to the game, I guess. Only the best people. Thanks, rap. Thanks. I see what you're doing right now. Let's not do that. Let's just continue to talk about Caleb here. If Caleb comes back within the next couple of weeks, I would be very impressed because he was clearly very injured. I mean, that hamstring dragging, it obviously hurt. He was rolling around in pain on the ground. It clearly hurt. I don't think you get that type of pain unless there's some real damage done. Yeah. I don't think that happened. So I would assume that there's going to be some recovery to this, but that any time you're talking about the muscles, you know, you rush those back and you're an explosive athlete, then you're just dealing with that maybe for the rest of the season. So they're going to have to be very careful with that entire thing as well. Absolutely. I feel like since he's been in league, this, if he doesn't start this week, this will be his first missed start. So he's a guy that, you know, we always talk about how important it is to be available as a quarterback. He's been pretty available, I feel like as of late for sure, he's been running and using his legs more. He's, he looked faster coming in this year. So I hope, you know, he does let this hill, I hope Tyson obviously can keep them afloat. He is a good backup quarterback. You talked about how tough it is to be a backup quarterback, yeah. But, you know, you were pro and I think he'll be ready, especially in this offense. I think Ben Johnson having ready, but yeah, absolutely take your time. But speaking of quarterback, backup quarterback, starting quarterbacks, Drew Locke, he's been playing great. He's got the Seattle Seahawks, two and no JSN coming off a hat trick, but been some good news in the Sam Darnell camp. What's the latest update with him? Yeah, good, good news, I would say, you know, the question now is like, we'll, we'll Drew Locke start again. And I would say that is a maybe I would say somewhere between possible and likely, right? I mean, missing two starts was probably the good wheelhouse for Sam Darnell. But what's going to be interesting is does he practice this week? I was told there is a chance that he gets out there late in the week and if he practices this week, I would say sort of similar to the way, oh my God, why is it so bumpy? I would say similar is the way it was with Michael Penex last week. And right, about hours, if you're able to get out there on a Friday, generally, that means the next week you can go play. So I think Darnell's coming sooner rather than later, but yeah, it might be another week of Drew Locke who has played just awesome for these, for these Seattle sea ops. That's why you got to strap in, you know, in the car seat, you got to have really tight straps that's like, like for you, they should have both on you there for, you know, your size and stuff. I don't like the shoulder harness, but I respect it, I respect it. Could you imagine you coming over to the Thunderdale Monday and then we go to lunch and we pick you up, put you in my daughter's car seat. Alright, move your legs, you got it? Alright, deal, cool. When you come back to service, yeah, you've agreed to do that, so we'll put you in your car. Oh, no, ma'am, oh, that's what it sounded like. We'll get you a juice, dude, or milk, we'll get you some of that. We'll have an iPod on for you to be able to watch K-pop, you know, we'll get you really dialed in. What's that? No screens, just conversation, we can look at each other, be great. Oh, you're a dad of the year, huh? You're the one that's deciding. Well, my kids are also 11 and 13, so we're way past them. Yeah, of course. And they're around you, so we understand that we certainly appreciate that. Let's move along. Shall we hear an NFL conversation? Go ahead, Tyson, man. Rept, what's the latest on Alec Pierce? We heard he re-aggravated the heel that he already had surgery on. He's elected not to have surgery, he's just going to rehab it. Which? Yeah, not great. He said he might be back mid-season, but this just doesn't sound good at all for him or the Colts. What's the latest there? Yeah, I mean, the phrasing you used was right because elected not to have surgery and is going to try to rehab. That's basically where he is. And, you know, the hope is it goes well. The hope is he's back mid-season, but like, there's definitely no guarantee. It's not good. It's basically re-aggravated injury that he had surgery on. And a lot of times you have to have surgery again. He wants to play because he is a dog, as you know. And he wants to be out there, so he, quite, I've been watching. He wants to be out there with his teammates. We'll see if it works. It sucks. I mean, I would say this, like, for the Colts, it sucks. We'll see when he plays again. Yeah. If he plays again, I'm glad for him personally that he got paid because that is a very good thing. What'd you say if there, you met this season? Yeah, just, you know, when surgery is a possibility and you'll like to rehab, there is always a chance that it just doesn't go great. Yeah, have we ever heard a situation where it's like, yeah, right decision, not to have surgery? Nope. I don't think so. Right? Why don't you see for down the Saints? What happened? Who was it? Michael Thomas. Michael Thomas, that was an entire off-season, right? They came into the thing. Brian Jensen. Offense Alignment. There's been a lot of decisions. Okay, making this out of you here. We play with a torn AC. I do. That's a different type of cowboy though. True. I don't know. I'd like to hear that answer actually. So surgery was on table and he played through it. Yeah. But he didn't take time off to rehab to hopefully do what surgery would do. I think he played with the torn ACO for either a majority of season or the entire season. Yeah, but I thought it was 10 plus games where he had a torn ACO, but got surgery after season, right? So I don't want to, I don't want to do a whole like, I can counter that to make sure my point is still right. He was playing through it. Logan? Yeah. Alex Pierce is trying to rehab for something here to do something that a surgery would be able to do. Instead of playing through it, like that one's everything, he's taking time off to rehab. I have 100% faith in the Indianapolis Colts medical team. I'm a big fan of theirs, but anytime I hear a surgery is an option and then no, we can probably rehab it too. I am a huge proponent of, hey, we should do, if the surgery is the thing, we should know that that's the thing. That is the state of science that we're in for that particular department, orthopedic and sports and all this shit. It's like the advancements in that have come to a way. If that is, I don't know. I'm not talking for anybody else. I'm just saying, if I was Alex Pierce and surgery was an option, can I still get back? If you get surgery, is he out for the year? Yeah, that's the question. Out for the year. Yeah. Okay. I don't like that he doesn't want it. Okay. Okay, maybe he is a little bit of a dog. Okay, I like that. Maybe he is trying to fight through it. And maybe he isn't a bad walker, you know? Maybe what we saw with our eyes, whenever he couldn't get up the hill and he couldn't walk on a flat surface when he wasn't practicing just a few weeks ago and we go, what? And then we are told, he's a bad, he's got a bad gate, this guy's got a bad, he's a bad walker. Like that, that source says close to the, I mean, we saw him in a softball game, said, hey, what's up with the thing? Hey, watch out. It's okay with how I walk. Maybe not though, you know, maybe, maybe, maybe it is obvious and maybe I appreciate him playing through it and wanting to show up first team, but damn, did we do longer damage here than what we could have done. I'm in surgery. This sucks. It sucks. It sucks. And obviously it's part of the game and like you said, just I agree with you, you know, got full faith in that coach, a medical staff, we're definitely familiar with them. And it just sucks, you know, him having a year, he had, he goes out with injury. You get paid and when you come back, especially when you hurt, like you, you still have that pressure to go out there and prove yourself, hey, you made this decision to pay me. And I'm sure he checked every box to get up and to this point. And then to get out there on a prime time game, I think he had already had a catch. He's already obviously going to be a part of the game plan and then for him to go down like this, just a mental part of the injury that just sucks for a player to get to this point. Now you have to kind of start back at square one. So I do hope Alec figures it out. Obviously for him, first and foremost, and then obviously for the coach. Obviously, one of my squad, my squad. Yeah, we would like to have our number one. That'd be good, especially as we pay to Alec, good luck, dude. We know you've been working your ass off. Sucks, absolutely sucks, all of it. We hope he gets back healthy. You know what else sucks? A lot of Falcons question from Boston Conor. Yeah, Rapsheel, let's go down to Atlanta. They have the worst football team, but the best sect of the internet when it comes to football fans and memes. They're batting 1,000%. They've already made funny memes about panics over throwing Drake London, but being pumped that they have a quarterback that can throw a ball over 20 yards. What is the situation and plan with panics? Are is there hope in Atlanta that this is going to completely turn the season around that their offense is going to look better? I saw Cooper Rush has basically some of the worst percentages in the history of football through two games, but not all of that's on him. Without a doubt, that is a tough situation being the third string QB, not really expecting to start. What is the deal here and what should we expect from Atlanta Thursday night in Lambo? Yeah, I mean, you should expect it to be better. I mean, it should be better. Like Michael Panic, I don't know if Michael Panic is a franchise quarterback. I think the Falcons hope that he is. He has certainly talented enough if he could stay on the field. The tools are there for him to be the guy. And he was a first round draft pick. He was a top 10, was he ninth overall pick? I mean, he's a guy who should be a franchise quarterback. And he is fully healthy now. He has waited a couple weeks. They did right by him to say, we're not going to rush you onto the field, we're going to allow you to decide when you are ready. I think that is a good thing. And he's got to play. And he's going to hopefully play better. I mean, they haven't been in the red zone once. Yeah, it's not great. They've also been playing with a third string quarterback. So like, talk about how hard it is for backups. Cooper Usch was signed in July, you know? I expect them to be better. They got a lot of weapons. Like, this is a, it might not be the deepest team ever. They got some, like, skill guys who are really good. I think they should be hopefully a lot better on Thursday night. And I'm not just saying that because I hope we all get to watch a really good game. Yeah, we're all hoping for prime time games to be great. Falcons are on three of them. So let's go ahead and enjoy that. Stephansky or some stats coming out about him. Not good. That's not fair. Cooper Usch, Jack Strand, James Winston. Who wants to have a Cleveland? Dishon? Dishon. But he did, he did a baker and kind of, and one. But I think that's the fansky's just waiting for a time where he could have, he's praying to God, the penics. Oh my God. Have you thought about what Stephansky is saying to the Lord above about penics and how he plays? Oh, yeah. Oh my God. This guy's been calling plays with the quarterbacks that he's been calling from Cleveland into this situation at Atlanta. He puts Jack Strand out there. Here we go. He actually, I think he actually said from my understanding. Fuck it. Give me Jack Strand. It couldn't have been worse. Jack Strand goes out there, third down, got actually a pretty manageable situation, third and two. He's got a chest, pop up, pick six, cut it to the fansky, throws everything. What have I done wrong is what he's asked. He needs some sage. You need to get him some. They need some sage down there. And Stephansky, I'm hoping penics goes out there and is everything you're looking for. Because if not what, we got another right, Matt Ryan and he got a whole nother. Oh, yeah, Matt Ryan's shooting up. Oh, no, definitely drafting someone. How far away is two of them healthy? Forever. He's calling. He's a gentleman. That's junior NFL. We don't know if that's true. Obviously, we are just projecting our thoughts on what we have seen from him over the last three years, two years, three years, two and a half. But once again, we are two offense. That's been through a lot through ball, been through a lot, four ball, which we appreciate. And I just might not be the right time to have him as your quarterback. Ladies and gentlemen, ear out, boy, thanks. Good luck on big day with big strikes, breaking down all the big plays. Have they used that as the intro song yet? Not yet. I think they're mulling it up. Oh, yes, right, didn't they? Oh, did they? I thought so. I didn't get to hear it. I was kind of over there figuring out money. If you guys hear it, say so. I thought I did. I think they should think about it though, for real. What is their current open? Peter Shrakes. Peter Shrakes. Peter Shrakes. And down all the big play. Yeah, I think it is. I don't like it. I think it's a better man theme, yeah? All right. Let's pick it away from big day with big shrugs breaking down all the big plays. Shout out to Junior NFL Insider. Yeah. Let's go to the second largest sport in the United States of America. College football. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now. The host of College Game Day football and basketball. The epitome of professionalism, ladies and gentlemen, please stay there. [APPLAUSE] You look handsome, brother. How you doing? I'm doing great. How are you guys doing today? Good, thank you for making this happen from a car. It's been a nice little car Tuesday. It feels like we've got a chance to take a few rides with RAP. Now we're parked with you, but we're parked in a great place. Because this has become one of our favorite weekly segments, especially with how big this college football season is going to be. It's time for races, paces from the weekend. Race, college football was electrifying this weekend as it is every weekend. What are the big pieces that you think should be spotlighted a bit? I think the biggest piece, Pat, is I've decided that there's no stipulation. There's no caveat. Trinidad Champlain said the best player in college football. I've been saying maybe best quarterback. I still love Jeremiah Smith. This guy touches the ball every play. Ole Miss can win the national championship because of him. And as I was sitting here listening to Ian and you guys talk about the Falcons, they might have the first overall pick. I hope they lose their tape measure. Don't measure as high and just take this guy. He'll throw it down the middle of the field. We know he can move. And that hesitation move that you and I saw from the sideline when he just sort of stopped and deadlocked the guy and then continued rolling to the outside and completed the path to keep a drive going was there just aren't a lot of guys can do that. I think he's the best player in college football, certainly the highest been favorite. Ole Miss can win the championship. And I'm not sure they get out of the swamp on beating on Saturday night. I think they've got their hands full. And they have to realize so much on him that'll be a really, really big deal. Hold on, race. Hold on, race now. Let's dive into that a little bit more because Pete Golden has been in the fire since he's become a head coach. I mean, they're talking about the amount of top 10 opponents that he's had and the amount of top 10 wins that he's had to start his career more than anybody in the history of college football coaching. Have that huge win against LSU as Rosenhaus would say. Now you got to go into what a brand new swamp with summer all in there. This feels like a dangerous, dangerous game for Ole Miss in a huge statement game for Florida. And in college football, that seems to be more real than any other sport maybe that we have out here. I think so. And I think that's exactly why Ole Miss is a better team than Florida overall. But that doesn't mean they're going to win the game Saturday night. It's going to be a caulverine inside the swamp. They're feeling themselves because they made a bit of a statement by beating Auburn on the road the other night of the game that I'm sure some raw wanted badly because Auburn completely screwed up the hiring of some raw. They could have had him as the coach didn't handle it as well as they could have potentially got fortunate that they still have a really good coach and Alex Golisch. But you know, that was an emotional win for some raw and Florida too. But I think they can build on it coming back home. They can really run the ball. Jaden Baw is the best, best running back in the country. They run the ball in a variety of ways, offensive coordinators, a guy named Buster Falkner who has a background in the air raid. He's been with Todd Munkin at Georgia and then did his own thing at Georgia Tech before coming to Florida. Really creative run offense and I think it's going to give Ole Miss fits and perhaps put a little more fresher on Trinidad to be really productive every time he touches it. DC for Florida, Brown White, former Indianapolis coach, D-Line coach. Okay. Yeah, he was around me and D-Butt. Like five, six years with the coach, then he transitioned in ecology as I can tuck you. I think he's a couple of other spots now. He's DC for several, great football mind, great human to be around. I would say, great human to be around. It's not just Florida and Ole Miss though, conversation about the entire SEC Reese's pieces. We had this come up in the meeting the other day. The SEC's ten and two through so far in September against non-conference opponents in the power four and if the SEC is resurgent and I'm not quite saying that, yeah, you still have to win the championship. The big ten still owns the last three championships. Well said. There's still a lot of great teams in the big ten. But as far as September goes, if the SEC is ascending again, it's because they have got them young dudes at quarterback and I mean dudes. Keel and Russell at Alabama makes a handful of throws in every game that you say. Well, that'll play on Sunday and then he breaks off, you know, a 57 yard touchdown run against Florida State when they need it. It's not just him, Saturday when we get to Tennessee and this is the guy that's the least experience of any of them but phase on Brandon at Tennessee is a really talented guy. Probably didn't play as well against Georgia Tech in terms of completion percentage as he has against their lesser opponents. is going to be a gargantuan test, but this is a guy who can really make place both throwing the ball in on the move as well and then a guy that I know you love because of his off the field hobbies his toughness Jared Curtis from Vanderbilt man when he throws that thing it comes out hot now he did get rescued he made a real freshman type of error with a late intersection against NC State but this guy this guy has it he's going to be he's going to be really good and kind of keep Clark Lee's program going up with the one that I know you guys have talked about yeah truth in the light cavario to her I know Nick loves him but I think the thing that's most impressive about him aside from his physical skill set if you saw that game early against South Carolina through a pick on his first pass they didn't have anything going pretty much the whole first quarter and then it comes out and hits eleven of twelve or something like that winds up with four touchdown passes he's been he's strong he's got every two or a quarter back could want only question I have does he have enough around it but this guy man he is he they have a lot of guys in the SEC right now that can be the difference makers and when games much like Trinidad is doing I'm not saying they're as good but LSU was probably better at that position group personnel wise then Ole Miss yet they weren't a quarterback and it was enough to make the huge difference and I think you've got to come and crop in the C.C. that can do similar type things as they continue to grow a mature and improve Camario sophomore to so he's obviously has another year where he has to play and with the modern NIL era Ole Miss might give him twenty million dollars he couldn't do that he couldn't do that from my understanding he couldn't do that unless his name was Camario Kiffin hmm I don't think he could go he was from Mississippi state to Ole Miss I don't think from my understanding but he is certainly somebody I mean Sabin comes in after week one on our show you this guy is the truth and the light and we go wow that's a great name for somebody then he described him again he didn't say that and then he was like then he got him the third time he was like hey this guy I would like to truth in the light this Camario Taylor I think Sabin thinks he's I think Sabin's tagging him as NIL. He's unbelievable yeah this is the guy here he's huge he's fast he can spin it and obviously the mental toughness that you talk about throwing a pick on your first one then go in eleven of twelve after that and their environments are special I mean down there in Mississippi state they obviously got the cowbells everything down there is crazy you're going to have to be tested and obviously can you survive long enough to get to the playoff to take on the big bad boogeyman from the big ten you know that's the that's the big question right now about what the SEC is and then last thing from the Reese's pieces I think you saw something that all of us really didn't think we'd ever see in like actual football you know the what's that the under 39 tackle football league yeah oh yeah you know the 37 you see this maybe in the under 37 you tackle football mix playing in that might see this in like super XFL thing maybe something might not even a CFL definitely not D1 football race no I mean the way and might be the worst giveaway in the history of sports I mean I think teams like over a thousand and over something like this so this when you have to fall in the lead with ten seconds or less left on the clock CJ Baylor Minty State ball knocked away from him in the end zone I feel badly for him he's a good player who had a terrible moment but you know NC State sort of stuck in this never world for years and years of being pretty good but not great and not awful this is a kind of moment that can make you awful I mean this can be a program break right a friend of mine who played at NC State back in the day and was a long time coach texted me right after that now I said you might want to consider putting the rest of the season into permanent lightning delay and just start over next year I mean it's terrible and they've got app state it's undefeated this week goes in state schools love to beat the big brand schools I could see this getting really sideways for NC State it's unfortunate because they played really well they played better than Vanderbilt on Saturn day and then just had that terrible terrible moment at the end one thousand forty six and oh yeah one thousand forty six and one yeah that's that's right that you're right that might be the biggest giveaway in the history of sport okay last question for you Reese comes from Debut yeah Reese actually every week now the new AP poll is out and I believe it's Texas UGA Notre Dame Ole Miss and then Indiana in Texas got 58 of the 69 votes it's my third week I see it's been Notre Dame every time are they still the number one team on your poll howdy howdy Debut howdy good thick okay is that because Trinidad huh yeah it's because it's Trinidad Pat and I think we also get to a point where you've got to get credit for accomplishment and Ole Miss is one of the few teams in the country they had the big one against LSU and man I really like what I've seen from Louisville and they beat them too nobody else has two of those you put that together with the best player and that's why I ranked Ole Miss number one this week you're the man we appreciate you that's another week of Reese's pieces from the weekend with Reese David the man Reese outside of a grocery store potentially you know gonna gear up for another match of week maybe maybe outside of a mall to go get a sweet suit you know he he looks good everything he's on well grocery stores are down there publics publics public state Florida I think he's in Florida higher publics publics publics wagons that was what's in Milwaukee they probably got croggers up there yeah you know maybe some Johnny Eagles so you're telling me that Johnny Gore Kroger is potentially feeding the MLB team with the best record in baseball that's what I'm telling you ladies and gentlemen the skipper the manager of the best team in ball friend of the program ladies and gentlemen not coach uh you can't you can't coach I still don't get that shit but I'm manager you manager Murphy I'm trying you know you've coached your football team I would have just called you coach there but baseball you're not a coach so what is the if mr. Murphy how do I what do I dress you you can address me any way you want but you know in baseball they call him skip I don't you know I don't I don't really care which I think is a part of the lore of the way you operate and obviously massive conversation around baseball as a whole is what's the CBA what's allowed what's not allowed well feels like the Milwaukee Brewers best team in ball have always operated in your own fashion you know you're never going to be at the top of the salary cap because I think you have to be potentially allegedly committing fraud to to actually do that but you guys actually build your team it feels like whatever the farm system is talked about how guys can come in and maybe uh contribute and be great and kind of come up through the system why do you think you have success doing this do you think it's because of your college success that development is a masterpiece of the entire process and how do you describe what the brewer way would be if we were to chat about it yeah I'm uh yeah I'm reluctant to say I have as much to do with it as I get credit for but uh the truth is you know when you're operating the way we are are our ivory tower front office whatever you want to call them I call me ivory tower they they they they understand where we're operating from so we have to do more with less and development becomes a big piece of it and you have to have players that are willing to change and grow and um be critiqued and make adjustments have the awareness that how do I fit into this game to be a winning player you know how how do I fit and that awareness and that responsibility um you know if you have the right guys and then we just try to go out and win each night you know I'm gonna try not to predict or complain or explain and just you know get after it your leadership style is obviously working and spectacular we love that you're also a football guy Kirk Herbstreet has come out and said it's more in baseball shit I don't like it there's no there's no baseball IQ happening there's no athleticism there's analytics happening pictures are getting pulled uh we're not hitting for like to get on base we're not trying to do baseball we're just trying to hit home runs and we're trying to gas people out and then we're trying to bring in another picture do the same thing the way you guys play is not like that at all is that is your style considered old school for somebody maybe that didn't grow up in baseball and what what are you guys that much different than every other team in the league I don't think we are but I hear it all the time from from old buddies or you know guys in the game a long time hey I love the way you guys play hey love the way you guys play I don't you know like I look out there a lot of nights and I'm like ah that's ugly but hey they um you know we have standards of how we play and what our offense is about um but it's not too much different than anybody else we just we have to operate the way we got operate you know um we don't have an engine that that's built you know with the best talent or the best uh the best money can buy but we have to build an engine that that operates It's a certain way it can accelerate. the right times. Yeah, I mean, I think I don't think we're doing it any different, but people seem to think we are. Yeah, the stats say you are 73 more runs than anybody else in the league, not via a home run. Let's talk about the top of baseball's history, and you talk about talent, just a unicorn and alien. Tell me about the Miz, just on a day to day basis, what you've learned from him, the human, the competitor, and the pitcher this year versus maybe last year where he was just getting introduced to the world. Yeah, you know, it's beautiful. That's a beautiful story. He's a beautiful kid, first and foremost, if you, if you, if you watch his operation off the field, it's him as fiance, his mom and dad, and it's just, it's beautiful, you know, like they're just this little unit. He has no idea he's the Miz. It's kind of for us, Gump, like, you know, maybe like, he's just, he's just been who he's been. He can't change. His fiance is the same way. He doesn't understand. He's the Miz, you know, and he's, he takes it all and stride. The biggest difference is this year, he's a great teammate. He's not looking to fit in last year. He didn't kind of know how he fit, you know, and then seeing him respond the way he did at the end of last year, and then going in the off season and training the way he trained and got himself so much stronger. So therefore, his delivery is so much more consistent. He still has got no idea what he's doing, but it's, it's just fun dematuration. You know, he's taking that next step. But like I said, there's many more steps to take. He is kind of a freak a little bit in that, you know, his extension is so good, coupled with his VLO and, you know, he's a great teammate, a great person. Yeah, it's kind of fun. Going to win this guy young from my understanding. I don't have a vote. It sounds like you agree with that. And he showed up. What is he has the top 100 fastest pitches from whatever in the history of baseball? You've been, I don't want to age you, but you've been around the sport forever. You said he's somewhat of a freak. It's like when you start seeing what he's doing at the beginning of the season, the amount of 100 mile an hour pitches and then let them stay in games, setting the thinning. He's throwing 100 mile an hour pitch. Is it interesting having to deal with this? Like how do you deal with this? You just move his scale as if he was, well, yeah, this guy's fastball is just 103 as opposed to somebody who's 99. We're just going to deal with the same way. How do you manage that when you're in an era of stats, analytics and everybody worried about what the future holds? Yeah, I'm not worried about, you know, if a guy's going to break, he's going to break. That's just, that's how it happens. You're trying to do everything you can in his best interest to not do that. But we don't have a, we don't have a secret sauce of how to not break pitchers because pitchers are breaking all over the league. And since the history of time, people are breaking, you know, but they're out of year and they're back. We've really managed I think the best you can miss his innings. Yeah, it's, he doesn't get treated any different than any other pitcher on our staff. You know, we got another kid Henderson that's had an incredible year that nobody knows about, but he he's fantastic and just learning who he is. And yeah, I mean, Miss doesn't want special treatment. He isn't, he doesn't act like a superstar. He doesn't act like he's privileged. He's just one of the guys. This guy's a lesson beast. He is. He's an absolute beast just having fun from Kansas, right? From my understanding, he's from the hot baseball hotbed of Kansas. I think he's where he's throwing out of it. I believe he likes Pokemon cards. Maybe coach at the end for a Sy Young, get him a nice Pokemon. Ty has a question for you about when we're going to learn about Henderson and your entire team in prime time. Go ahead Ty. Yeah, skip. I know you kind of have to be where your feet are in baseball and you can't really start looking ahead, but you guys clinched so long ago. There's, I mean, it's very likely that you're going to be the top overall seed and have that by not have to worry about the wild card ground. At what point will you start kind of planning for your potential, you know, series in the playoffs, whenever that may be, and kind of start moving things around in terms of making sure, you know, guys are going to have your pictures are going to have full five days rest. I mean, obviously, you don't play that first series. You don't have to worry about it, but also, you know, moving the line up around different, you know, like, probable against pitchers, the team you play might throw up there. Like, when does all that stuff come into play knowing you still have what six games left in the season for the post season starts? Well, we've started that, you know, probably two, three weeks ago. We've started kind of, it's not coasting. You know, I always say you can't coast uphill, but we haven't started that in terms of backing off, but as far as strategy and putting guys in situations, we've been doing this for a couple weeks, knowing that we're in good position, knowing these guys do come to play every night. Nothing's guaranteed, but we should get a buy. And then, you know, dealing with that five days off, there's people that'll tell you, you know, it's the worst thing for your team, that type of thing. It doesn't matter if it is or it isn't, but that's what we're going to do. And we got to deal with it. The playoffs after 162 game seasons, kind of a crapshoot. If you look at the last 10 years, how many teams out of the wild card is in the World Series? So it's whoever's hot and whoever's playing right at the time, ball bounces their way, you know, they get the right call, you know, all that kind of stuff can happen. Anything can happen, you know, I'm proud of these guys, what they've done in the regular season. Once again, third year in a row, we're not predicted to win the league, third year in a row, you know, average wins were like 80 between 80 and 87 and third year in a row. They blew that away and they just, they set their own expectations, their own standards. The playoffs are, again, it's a different animal in that it's a crapshoot. It's baseball. The reason we play 162 is you probably can't figure out the winner unless you play that many games because anybody can look good for a month or whatever. So yeah, it's a little bit of a crapshoot, but we're really interested in doing well in it and going to one step further the last year. I'll tell you what, if I'm at the craft stable with you, I feel very good about it. So good luck in the playoffs. And yeah, we got hot knives coming with me is throwing that thing. And Henderson, good luck. We appreciate your time. Skip. I'm going to say coach there. Skip, I appreciate your time. Appreciate you guys having me on. Hey, you're the man. Notre Dame football pretty good this year. I love you. Fandy football pretty good this year. Oh my good buddy Clark. Yeah, many football very good. They got a six foot five K2 broke horses as a quarterback right now. Yeah, yeah, he gets a little more experience. Careful. I like your team's got a lot of experience. Careful. Ladies and gentlemen, Pat Murphy. Yeah. He's the man. Football guy. Yeah. Yeah. Who is a stud, huh? Skip. Oh yeah, he's going to win. I know, you know, skip of the year again. We're so incredibly lucky that we get a chance to chat about it every single day. Congrats to the Los Angeles Rams starting our season last night. I'm talking about what happened in Australia. Let's talk about a big win over the Giants and we'll be joined by Devonte Adams in nine minutes. Hell yeah. That'll be incredible to catch up with him. What a night as he goes for 195 and two tuts, which takes him to 119 touchdowns. Was his seventh all time in a reception touchdown list. Congrats to him on having a remarkable career. One that started in Green Bay and then it ended up in Las Vegas. Then he ends up with the loss of the New York Jets for a few games. Then he ends up with the Los Angeles Rams and he becomes one of Matthew Stafford's favorite targets in the red zone. Then Puka is out of the game and Devonte becomes the number one. And he goes for 195 and two touchdowns. This guy has a Hall of Fame career. Hall of Fame resume already. And who knows what's the come with him and staff in Sean McVey and L.A. is they know an exciting brand of football is good for ball. But also an exciting brand of football is exactly what they're built for. The talks table is here at Boston Corner and at Tyshman. Tyshman, Tyshman, you saw a lot of good times with Devonte. The creation of Devonte from early out of Fresno. Yep. Fresno State. Fourth round. Second. Okay. Second round pick is remember, water seevers Green Bay didn't select the first round water seever for like 100 years or whatever the case wasn't second round pick out of Fresno State. Everybody talked about his release and then just continue to get better and better and better and better and better and better. Now he's become one of the guys to talk about is maybe a greatest of all time. Yeah, certainly one of my favorite Packers of all time. He had a very rocky start to his career too. Kind of had an issue with drops early and a lot of people were like, "Hey, is this guy is he ever going to get on track?" And then really once Jordy Nelson left, he just blossomed and became unstoppable pretty much the connection he and Rodgers had and boy, I mean, just every single time I watch him, I just wish he was still a Packer. I really do. He was just, he was so good, so reliable and you know, when Rodgers left, hey, did seeing him go to the Raiders and have that little blip where you could tell just like, man, this sucks. I hate being here even though, you know, I got all this money and I'm, you know, still catching a lot of touchdowns and performing well, but just this guy deserves to be in the playoffs. He deserves to be on the biggest stage. He deserves to win a Super Bowl, at least play in a Super Bowl. So every time I watch him play, yeah, I just, what I would do for one more year of him as a Packer. And he's hilarious. Yeah, so I can't wait to catch up with him. and one half of the hammer down Cowboys AP tone. Maybe we should along with Devonte to Todd's last name. - Yeah, to Todd's would have been awesome. That would have paid out really well. But no, it was Scott and they didn't give him any carries on goal lines, so. - Why are they doing this to us? Detroit Lions, okay? - We need a bell cow. - At least the Lions scored on those plays. The Lions got stuffed and had to kick a fuel goal. - Yeah, but the Lions threw slants from the one yard line. Two different times. Now score two touchdowns, obviously. Congratulations, you did it. But what you did was disrespect football and ruin our super boost. And once again, we are gonna find it. We are gonna find it. But what the teams are making these types of decisions that we could never predict. And then obviously quarterback gets hurt early. Everything changes for the Giants offense. I guess we should have maybe known whenever Skataboo said he can't wait to meet Aaron Donald for the first time in the A-Gap or whatever it was. We should have maybe not bet on Skataboo, but I didn't know they weren't gonna give him the ball down near the goal line. That's why the guy is on your team. He's Skataboo. Now, I still have faith in the New York football Giants. I think they're a very large team. We'll see how long Jackson darted us out. James is gonna have to do a lot better, but on defense aside, nine year NFL event, Darius J. Butler. Javon Hollins having an incredible start to a season. Like historic start to a season, actually. - Absolutely. Giants fans are no excited about him. They broke the bank, bringing him over big time, free agent sign. It didn't have a great first year, but he started off hot. I believe now created three turnovers for his team, so as long as the offense can be manageable. And with that pass rush, if you're a safety and you have dogs, Burns got banged up, but you got dogs who are getting after the quarterback. That's gonna put you in position to make plays, but he's been great at punching the ball out. He made that unbelievable pick that we talked about in the show last week, and he was sliding along the sideline. I'm sure he's a great leader in that locker room as well, so I love what Javon Hollins been doing, so. - Yeah, the Giants, I'm not completely out on them. - No. - James needs to figure out how to play quarterback again. - Yeah. - Be eager to see who they try to bring in to get another quarterback, 'cause they only had two on the roster last night. From my understanding, Source says, tell me, Braxton Barrios would have been the quarterback if James would have won down. He was a mergersly quarterback. - He's a zero. - That's right, agent zero. I've been learning a lot about him and how he's operating life. Good luck to you, man. Just hope you, you just be happy. You worry about you. - What are you gonna bring in? You gotta bring somebody in. - I mean, Joe Flacco is currently what, two in Cincinnati? He's three in Cincinnati, and two. - Yeah, so they're not letting him go. - No way, no chance in Cincinnati, let's him. I just, you gotta go through the regular names. What's Phil Revers doing right now? - Yeah, it's fine. - What's okay? - Drew Ruiz. - I saw Will Evans just sign with the Jets, so he's off. - Okay. - Was he gonna practice quarter? He's up on the-- - Practice quarter. - Okay, so he can definitely sign him. - Jimmy G, see you out there. - Jimmy. - Mason Rudolph. - Mason Rudolph. - Mason Rudolph has an opportunity to sign right now? - He played. - He's on the Steelers, but you can trade for him, for sure. - You played on Sunday, Tony? - Hold on, though. - That's not good. Anthony Richardson. - Yeah, Tony Richardson. - Anthony Richardson could be perfect for that team right now. - Okay. - Especially without big ears, how fast he is, he runs, he could run the Jets, he'll dart. - Yeah, he would definitely have to, and that's already been conversated about. I'm not saying that Indianapolis needs a full rebuild, even though we've paid a lot of different pillars, 'cause now everything's going, but I do know that that conversation has been evolving. Anthony Richardson has been super professional, but allegedly there's been no teams that have had any interest. He might be, that might not be a bad idea. - Okay, nine, from Minnesota. - J.J. McCarthy, going over there. - He's gonna run around a little bit. - He is a Michigan man, too. There's a tie there. - Darball would love that. - Yes, he would. - Joining us now is a man who might have the answer. - Big old brain, huge dome. - Yeah. - College football national champions, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner, A.J. Hawker's here. - A.J. Hawker. - Hawker, what are you thinking for the Giants? Obviously, James Winston doesn't have his greatest performance, but maybe nobody would have against that Rams team. Congrats to McDuffy getting his first pick with the Los Angeles Rams. You're take away from the last night. More Rams are back in who we thought they were, or Giants, oh no, because Jackson, Dart, injury obviously sucks. - Yeah, I mean, they dodged your board, obviously. Jackson, Dart, hopefully, it's MCL situation, so he's not out too long. But I'm just thinking I cannot get that picture out of my head of Timmy, Teebo, sitting there with Peyton, the boys, how jacked he is. I don't know, Tim maybe too, his arms may be too big to actually throw the ball now, but maybe you give him a chance to go out there and swing a little bit. - Do you see what he did to that flag out there? The Broncos had him out here, the celebrate Mal high, and he's doing, yeah, you got it. And he's supposed to plant that flag. See, flag gone. Yeah, Tim Teebo, it's too strong for the flag. If he went up to the moon, wouldn't have been able to plant the flag 'cause he would have been too strong. The flag would have been floating off into whatever planet we had at that time to put it down. Tim Teebo said, what about the flag? Just not going, he's full sweat. He is a monster. I mean, an absolute monster. And he's, the winds, and he just beats the flag. And that's Tim Teebo football. So maybe you're right. Maybe you're right. - That's the picture I'm talking about right now. - That big his arms are. - Yeah, that's not AI and hands. That's Tim Teebo right now. That's Tim Teebo. You don't think John Harbock had dropped some place for that guy right there to gain a yard or two alongside Patrick Ricard and Scataboo. It leads me to this. It pulls Scataboo down in its goal line. Well, what's that about? Why do we think we're doing that? - I mean, I guess what do you, also the poor tight in here trying to block down on Aaron Dunnell. Picked off by his own offensive lineman too. That's kind of tough duty you're pulling right there. - Yeah, Maui Nala, likely on the block there. Chris Shula before the game. He joined us on Monday night countdown. Very thankful he joined us and talked so much. The way all of them were talking about Australia, AJ was very funny. All of them were just like very the ball. 16 game season, 16 game season. What do we even, let's not even, now if last night goes bad, I think there would have been like, what's going on here? I thought we weren't playing first game. I thought we weren't playing the first game, but literally from everybody we chatted with, it was like, we're not, come on. - So they want to shrink the game too? - Washington. - I don't know if they want to shrink the game. I think they would be pretty pumped if other teams were selected to go over there next time. Or maybe they go about doing it differently. Sean McVeigh very candid at the end of his post game presser. - We have the right people. - Yeah, I think sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. And sometimes you have a dumbass coach that makes travel plans that puts you in a bad spot. There you go, that's a draw. - Big pop out of the LA media after a huge win. I like that, but that is him. I'm sure he said that to the team. I'm sure he said that to ownership. I'm sure he has said that to the fans. Now he's saying it to the media, he's like, hey, listen. I've fudged up, guys. Okay, we should have won to the other side of earth. I won eight hours before the game. I thought we could all just be machines. Stay on the same time zone. We'll all go to bed at the exact same time. We'll wake up at the exact same time. We even serve you guys breakfast as if it's morning. Oh, on the plane. Everybody has those plans. But then you know, humans take over. You know, dice game start, maybe some cards start. Maybe there's some drinking. Hey, we're supposed to be asleep right now. Okay, yeah, all right, sweet. Then they get exhausted. That group, they fall asleep. Everybody up, we got breakfast on. Now those guys tired on plane because haven't been able to get a full sleep, even though they're still on plane, trying to stay on the time. So I think there is a human versus machine aspect in theory, versus reality aspect that potentially comes into play here. And I think Sean McVeigh learned that in real time. In every future team, we'll also know that if they have to go to, I don't know, China or. - Better not. - Japan. - Just a matter of time. - We fit. - We good feel. - It's audio review. Okay, China's got some good feels. - With rocks, all those are on the paper. - Outside the Great Wall. - Remember, there was a Super Flag football game that was coming to Saudi Arabia. - Whoever got the biggest check. - Whoa! - Tony! - Tony! - It's for the good of the sport. - Okay. - Sean McVeigh, very candid there. I think he was telling the truth. And also he told the players this. And I think all the players have the mindset of like, let's just not even. Let's start this thing. Actual 60 games. There's only been one team that's gone undefeated. - Yeah, I mean, regardless of what the result is a week one, obviously we know we gotta move on. But you look at that division. We got two undefeated teams, two one and one teams. Like, come week 18, you know, at one game could come and bite you and ask me, looking at a division like that and a conference like that. So, but you move on. It's a week to week league. And you're just trying to get healthy and play your best ball. And we talked about it, Sean. This has kind of been Sean McVeigh's mindset with the preseason. Let's get my guys to the season healthy. Let's start playing good football. They played good football last night. Obviously it was unfortunate for Jackson. Dark to go down, just kind of took the win. Out of that building for the Giants. But I feel like the Rams all around play the good football game offensively and defensively. So I love to see that. I love to see, you know, uh, charming, very cracking the guys up, taking some ownership and moving on. Yeah, I, um, I had a chance to be in a very cool suite last night. We saw. Yeah, we did see about that. And what you saw me doing in real time there was big announcement. Wayne Gretzky's gonna be on the show next Wednesday. Hey, that's a little me typing into account, as soon as he said, I got Philly Pitt next Wednesday or whatever. We start the season on TNT or whatever. I'd love to come on. She starts next next Wednesday filled out the flyers Pittsburgh pants like regular season. Yeah. Next one. Drop in the park boys. I took two weeks. Oh, I know. This is the hockey culture. That is the reality of it. Don't tell Albert Brewer. Dude, he was. We're doing. We're doing the, uh, that's a deep cut. Yeah. We were. I was very lucky. And then Russell Westbrook obviously in there got to celebrate him tomorrow, the Rosen. Uh, Jason obviously came up. It was cool. That's Wayne. He was, uh, wife right there and then her, their son is on the other side Trevor is on the other side. There was nice to meet everybody. Hang out with everybody in the cronkey suite up there. Got a chance to talk to the cronkey family about buying the angels. Congratulations. I'm in a big way. Right. But literally that exact shot is me typing in Wayne Gretzky into the calendar saying, yes. Literally in real time. I opened my phone and I just see that we're on there. Like great, great news, everybody gets to see it, but Wayne O, incredibly kind, saw us doing the money in that countdown show, sends me a text crazy that Wayne Gretzky texts me. I will say that forever. I will never get used to the great one, Texan. We haven't saved it in my phone as the great one. - As you should. - Just 'cause whenever that pops up, you have to have that happen. He texts me, I think, do I see you down there on the sideline? When do you take a day off question mark? And then I look down, I see the great one. Like, wow, this is awesome. Yeah, man, never. Trying to get him where I fit and brother that don't disappear. He goes, you need to come see me. I'm like, you got it. So I can invite it up there by Wayne Gretzky. Obviously get to do that third quarter. Go have a couple of weinos and diets. - Sure. - You know, a couple buffalo traces and diets up there. It was chicken parm sliders up there. - Mm-hmm. - Yeah, dude. - It's a good gimmick. I like this, sweet gimmick every week. - Yeah, it's pretty absurd how this whole NFL thing is kind of gone, yeah. Yeah, nobody deal. Did you get rust on the show? - I compliment him pretty. It was nice to see that he did not. Yeah, I think he knew of the existence of us. I think he did. Demar, I believe they knew of the existence of us. They were, they were certainly having their own combo. Wayne O was, we're talking one story after. I think that was his first time being around Jason, although he's a big fan of Jason, they know each other. And obviously our first time really being having a couple cocktails. Wayne O was batten a thousand last night. - Of course. - I mean, on fire, last night is how I would describe big pops out of everybody, you know? And then I ask him, I say, I say, so they bought the angels or whatever. He goes, yeah, man, they asked me if I wanted to run it. I said, no way, you know, you gotta have to pay me at least a hundred thousand tunis. (laughing) Big laugh. Huge laugh, man. Like he was just, it was one after another way. I was like, this guy is incredible. You can see why everybody loves him. And then obviously his wife and boy were just super, it was, it's been really cool. It's been really cool these Monday night countdowns. Now, you know, it's fun to work with a brand new group of people from ESPN. - Always. - You know, it's always fun for a brand new group of people to, you know, maybe them, them meet me, you know, the entirety of it all. The boys on set, love them. Absolutely love them. What an honor. What an honor it is to be alongside those guys. They are actually phenomenal. You know, and watching Scott Fanpelt, he's been a legend in the, I don't like what Swagu did there. I didn't like what Swagu did. - Good, he did. - Yeah, kind of welcome me up a little bit. You see this, AJ, huh? Should we turn it? - That's a pretty good swim. Watch exposing your ribs. You don't need to swim too high, you know. You know, Kels is good. He'll get you right in your ribs. That arm gets up too high. - Yeah, I said that immediately. Actually, I said, man, it's gonna get me in a ribs there. But you see me turn my cowboy boots sideways so I can dig into the turf. Okay, you got to turn that thing sideways. Get in there. And here, I didn't, I thought I had him. Honestly, when I left my feet, I thought maybe I'd be able to wiggle through there. But they were talking about how you need double air in Donald. Tell me what you saw from Aaron Donald last night, AJ. And what is realistic expectations? Because I think I, in my brain, have Aaron Donald as a superhuman. Like, I see, what's that thing from the Avengers? - The Hulk. - The one that can. - Thanos? - Thanos. That's what I see when I see Aaron Donald. I see Thanos. Like that, just strong, grinch, just every, you know, whatever he wants to do, he got trained with knives. And he's considered one of the greatest of all time. And for his size, he's been able to manhandle, grown ass men for a long time. So when I saw him come back and thought of him coming back, in my head, we got 10 sacks coming. We got pancakes take it place. And Jason Kelsey's like, well, that's never gonna happen. They're gonna double or triple him. And by the way, last night they were, there was a time where he was triple teamed at one point and a couple other guys got in there. The Giants understood who Aaron Donald was. What was a realistic expectation we should have had coming in? And how do you see his first night and how it went? - Now, I think Ty mentioned earlier, you definitely felt his presence. The New York Giants definitely knew where he was at every single time he was in the game. And I think it was, I think it was a great showing for him. Obviously, he gets through the first game without any kind of soft tissue injury or whatever. That was something that I would worry about coming off from the two-year layoff and then working his way back in. But can you imagine how dead his legs had to feel after like the first two drives? He is in no matter what you do no matter everything you're doing. Like, you didn't go through the camp with the team. I give him a ton of credit for playing as well as he did, honestly. - Yeah, I can't wait to see what he ends up doing for the rest of the season. The Rams back on track in their 16 game season this year. Okay, it's not a 17 game season, it is a 16 game season. And they got old ass dudes, ballin', old dudes. Senior citizens, absolutely going crazy. Last night we took a trip back in time. Devonte Adams goes for 195 and two tuts. This man has a Hall of Fame resume already and he's only piling on top of it. Ladies and gentlemen, the man, the myth, the OG no. Devonte Adams. - Yeah, Devonte! - How are you, man? - Well, good. I'm doing great, how you doing, man? - Good, when did you know? When did you know? So, as soon as you hear, I assume you guys knew about Puka before we did publicly or had expectations on what Puka was gonna do with the hip. When did you know it was gonna be a night? Like you walked over to us when we were doing the circle thing, a cipher-looking conversation. And you were obviously very calm, very cool. Did you know you were about to have a historic night or how does that kind of start happening for you? - I mean, I was in the mindset that it was getting ready to happen, but I mean, you never know you about to have a two-in-a-yard game. You never, you never quite just know that 'cause it takes so many things, so many different things, so many different people in order for something like that to happen, but I mean, I had the mindset that I was ready to go out there and play my assault. That's for sure. - Yeah, you had some ridiculous catches. Right before half, obviously we missed the kick, so I can't talk about it, but just an absolutely ridiculous catch. Your first touchdown absurd, 'cause you get blindsided as well, fight through that, and then your celebration absolutely filthy and smooth. Tell me about staff, tell me about the offense, and tell me about Australia, and how you guys view that. 'Cause a lot of people I was talking to, they were like, yeah, fuck that game, dude. We got a 16 game season, that was just a terrible showing by all of us in all departments. We are moving forward. This is what our season is from here on. Is that what it felt like to you guys in locker room, and tell me about how last night was compared to Australia? - Yeah, I think, I think, across the roster, it's a lot of fuck that game, and I'm sure, I don't think, I don't think too many people are trying to think about that when they remember anything that happened out there, other than the coffee, some good coffee. I'll tell you that I had some coffee out there. Not even a coffee, dude. But they got it going on as far as the coffee world. Now, the travel, getting out there, taking 24 hours to fly there and all of that, whatever it was. Not as big of a fan of that part of it, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. I think it was a blessing in disguise, 'cause it definitely fired us up, and got us ready to go from Monday night. We got quite a few prime time games this year, so we know we got a lock in and go out there and handle business on Monday night, and we went out there and did that. So, it's step one for us. - It looked awesome. Go ahead, AJ. - Yeah, I guess as far as your head coach, Sean McBae, we see like the guy seems to be, have endless energies, juice to all the time. He sounds like grudin' a lot of times when he's speaking. I guess what's it like day to day with him? Is he always the same, dude? And what has he done for you? I guess your game, like, schematically, and how has he helped you? - Well, he's helped me a lot, just 'cause, I don't think I've ever been able to connect with a coach the way that I can't with him. He's the ultimate player coach. He preaches, I mean, he leaves the hell out of the team, but he also preaches that player-led teams are the most successful ones. So, we do the best that we can, as leaders, as captains going out there, trying to just take as much ownership as we can, and then, obviously, you know what a brilliant football mind he has, and the way he can kind of, the illusion of complexity is what he calls it. How you can get out there and run similar plays, but dress it up different, and just giving guys different opportunities to go and make plays, and highlighting my skill set, which is what you saw last night in everybody. Just knowing how to use all the guys, they talk about the big game for me, because it seemed like it was a random one to go out and have 200 on a Monday night, when everybody thinking you're old man, like when you were calling me, as you introduced me here. - Well, well, well. But at the end of the day, you know, I do think, seeing the talk about the OG, seeing you dapping you up, some of the guys I got to hang out with pre-game, that fired me up too, man, I don't think it didn't, so. But yeah, it's good to get out there and have a game like that. Like I said, you never really know, you don't have a 200-yard game, but my mind is always set for that, and I prepare to go out and have those side-to-game. - Yeah, I mean, I've been retired for like a decade now, and anybody that was playing when I was still playing, and now, you know, at this stage, nothing but respect. I mean, I can barely get up off the toilet some mornings, and you're out there hanging still at this stage. So when I call you an old-ass, obviously, that's a compliment. You know, that-- - I appreciate it. - Yeah. - Thank you. Very kind words. - There's no old professional athletes that are actual ass. You're just old asses, you know? - Yeah, old as hell. - Yeah. - Old as hell, yeah, I got you. - No, old ass. - I'll thank you. - I'm saying ass too, but old as hell is also playing in there. You know, there's no hall of famer that, you know, played old. Like, no ass players are making it too. How old are you now? - 33. - Jesus, we-- - I'm doing young. - Yeah, I know. - 34, and a few months, 34. So you can go ahead and call me old if I can go out and play young. So I don't mind it. - Making 34, you beat Jesus. We'd also like to say happy birthday. - Yep. - Happy birthday. - Happy birthday to you. The D-Bud has a question about your old ass. You're still in your prize, it's going to be about the quarterback as well, but you're a game. You have the evolution, sorry, of your game. Obviously, the catches are great, but I think everything that happens before the catch is kind of what separation makes you one of all time, Chris releases the route running the timing. So about that, like, how did that evolve in your game? What did you do in the all season then? How long does it kind of take to get on the same page? You played with some of the best throws of the ball ever, air Rogers, obviously Matt Derrick Carter, Coliseum is good as well, but how long does it take to get on the same page for those guys? Well, I mean, you've seen with me and Aaron, it was, you know, it was different levels to our connection. It started off, you know, my rookie year where I was just trying to get in where I could fit in, you know, make as many places as I was able to make, and, you know, it wasn't, I wasn't really asked to do the things that I'm asked to do now, or, you know, at the height of things in Green Bay, so being in the position now where I come to a place where, you know, it's a brilliant mind, as I said, and Sean, who's trying to highlight all my, you know, my strengths, and obviously releasing up the ball and doing those things is one thing. But like you said, being able to get on the same page with a guy like last year, we didn't really have much time to get ready for the season. I think we literally our first time working together was, obviously we had a little bit of time in OTAs, but right before the season, the week of week one is when we were first got together, and it took us some time to kind of work through things mid-season, which obviously is not our deal, but just as time goes by, the more reps, the more live reps you get together, you just learn each other's body language picking up on, you know, small subtleties that, you know, we understand obviously the details it would allow for games like yesterday to happen, so they just took a little bit of time and understanding each other a little bit better, and you get products like what you saw last night, and he's been doing this for almost 20 years now. So it's nothing new to him, but like I say, just on the flip side, just like I got to learn him, he's got to learn, you know, my body movements understanding what it looks like when I'm getting ready to set an indicator and take it high, or am I going to sit it down and, you know, come underneath and, you know, try to beat him on a flatter on a bench row versus taking over the top, like the toe tap when you saw, and it's just so many different things you got to do, and I wish y'all could see all the work, honestly, it's one of my favorite things, would be if the world could tap into practice tape and see what we're doing and just watch, you know, that way you can really know who your favorite players are, just base off the way they work, the way they talk football, the way that they think, because I'm a very cerebral player as you guys know, so some of the stuff is the footwork, but I think most of what makes me me is what's between the ears, and, you know, I got like Matthews the same way, and I think having a guy like Aaron early in my career was one of the biggest blessings, because I don't know that I'd be as detailed oriented and locked into, you know, the small things that make the big picture is what I am now. So I say all that to say, I've been blessed to have some great quarterbacks and great people around me to put me in some good positions, and, you know, I'm just here trying to maximize as much as I can. You said, I'm pretty cerebral, believe it or not, and then you describe the nuance of what around could have been three different ways, and then also you saw this one as over top, and Matthew Stafford has to see that in real time, because this is how I'm going to get a wide ass open, if he just kind of rides with me here, because I'm reading the guy, incredible work by you and audibly in real time. But that is why you've been so dangerous. Now, Matthew Stafford, you talk about old as hell. He was drafted 221 picks ahead of me day in the same draft. He was number one. I was 22. He, he was given a guaranteed contract. He could have bought the entire city that he was drafted to, but he's been doing the, I was, I was able to get a Cadillac Escalade if you recall that, that almost got reposed, because that did not hit the bank account till about 30 days later. And that was certainly a fascinating time in my life. But Matthew Stafford has been Matthew Stafford to your point for three decades. Connor has a question about that. Yeah, Devonta, to that point, what makes Stafford Stafford? You know, it feels like, you know, Rogers, who you used to play with, he gets kind of put in that upper echelon, that pantheon of quarterbacks of all time, but Stafford over the last few years has started to become someone that people talk about as one of the greats in the history of the NFL, from what you've seen over the last 18 months since you've been with the Rams, what makes him one of the greats of all time when it comes to throwing the football? Well, to be honest, I think we'd be talking about him as maybe the greatest quarterback of all time, you know, the tough part about being a quarterback in his league is so much of, you know, your success and how good you are, how legendary you'll become is based off of winning. And obviously you start in a place like Detroit where, you know, they weren't winning at the rate that the Rams have been since he's been, you know, here's what 2021, you know, if his whole career had been here, what a guy like Sean, yeah, they'd be saying is this guy literally the best quarterback that's ever played. So, winning games obviously helps a lot of that and you look at, I'll just always respect the guys that can do it consistently for a really long time, you know, there's guys that flash and I think the NFL community, all the fans out there, they always want to crown a new king and find a new toy. But at the end of the day, the guys that can go out and do it continuously for years and years and years, you know, when, when guys have a whole bunch of tape on them and understand what they like to do, what they're, you know, small little nuances that make them good, but we could still go out there and manipulate defenses the way that he can, you know, the, the no look, the deal that he's got going is just like, he uses it, it's like a legitimate tool for him. It's not like it just something he brings out from time to time is something that, you know, I've never seen any quarterback play with their eyes the way that he can and I've talked about it a lot and I feel like people may be getting tired of that. But at the end of the day, you've got to understand how dangerous he really is and some of the small things that he can do, just like that playing with his eyes to hold that safety and, you know, put me in a position where I can, you know, toe tap that on the sideline like, that's something small and maybe would get lost, you know, where people aren't really realizing they just say, oh, great ball. They don't understand, you know, the reason why that play worked was because he held the safety for so long and then delivered a perfect ball to the sideline. So, you know, like Aaron Rogers, this guy is just so detailed and so cool too. It doesn't matter what happened before, he's going to find a way to lock in and be ready for the next play. So I got a lot of respect for that. Wadley tough to, you know, you old as hell guys have to be wildly tough. And I think since you, yeah, since you started playing with Aaron, obviously earlier than now, Matthew Stafford, I would trust you be it on my pick up hoops team because I'm no looking. Yeah, sure. You know, and guys that I play with sometimes, boom, right, I can't, you know what I mean? Got to be ready. Just put it up, just put it up out of rim. I'll go, I'll go. Don't worry about it. 33. You can still. Huh? Okay. All right. Hey, Pat, you're going to make me, you're going to make me get in a gym on one of these off days. But put some new footage up there for the world. Okay. Yeah, we need to see the video. Don't make me do it. They're going to say I'm not focused in on football because I'm out there. Just a little reminder to everybody what's happening. You know these get off. Everybody's like, yeah, what do you think that is? Yeah. What do we think that is from and that? Yeah. I'm fouling by the way. So is AJ. I think you knew that. I get you free throws. It's okay. No, not with us. Where you have come in your football life is absurd. Obviously, I assume if you were to go back and visit a younger you and tell you everything you've accomplished, you'd be pretty mind blown. Go ahead, Ty. Yeah. Devonte, after two more touchdowns last night, you are now just two behind Larry Fitzgerald for six all time as a Packers fan. I was blessed to see about a hundred of those. Have you had chance to like reflect on that at all? I know, obviously, you're still playing at such a high level and you want to go win a Super Bowl. But like when it's all said and done, if you thought about that at all, like you're going to be top five all time in touchdown catches in NFL history. It's just insane that you've been able to play at as high of a level as you have for your entire career. Yeah. You know, when things come up and you know, you take another step in the history books, I think sometimes things come up to where organically, you know, you think about it, but I try not to think about it too much because, you know, I just, I'm always thinking about what I can do better. And I know that's the, that's the boring answer, but the other answer is I feel like sometimes when you start thinking about certain things like last night, they told me I had one ninety five and it was like a quarter left. And then once you know, it's like it's the hardest thing in the world to get to that two hundred yard mark. Like, okay, well, we just had one forty five in the first half, like it's certainly should be easy to finish this game with two hundred yards. And then you find out you're at one ninety five and it's like, okay, now we stuck there forever. So I don't want to start thinking about, you know, I'm at one, you know, nineteen right now. I'll let me do this. So I just, you know, I tribute a lot of my success in my career to just being in a moment, staying, staying locked in and, and, you know, you look back when it's all said and done. And hopefully you like what you see. There'll be a lot of shit that you'll like what you see about your career and obviously it's only growing and growing. Speaking of growing and growing, there's a new trend with captains. Go ahead, Tom. Yeah. Devon, say, when earlier in the season, we kind of had our jokes when the Rams tweeted out the captains for this season. It seems like it's basically everyone on the team there, which is awesome to talk about that. But I also noticed last night that ninety nine didn't have a C on his jersey. What does he have to do? What does Aaron don't have to do to get a C on his jersey this year, too? I mean, we could just give him one behind us. I don't think I don't think there's really much. We don't need to overthink that. When I think it was just a timing issue, he came in like, I think literally the day we voted for captains and I'm not not exactly sure how to how the voting process went. But we obviously have 26 captains and he's not once in a half. We'll see we'll see come what we'll see come up come play up time. I mean, but look at that list. Who are you gonna take out? I know. Yeah, we to be honest as soon as it popped up We said all right the Rams have a starting 11 as their captains and we started to basically saying like the Rams Jersey now actually just comes With a C on it, but you look at the it is a list of stars. Yeah, I mean is a who of stars and leadership at some points It's like 30% of our offensive huddle has a star shot up shot up no I mean exactly exactly what it's like over there he stars everywhere talent everywhere old dudes young dudes and obviously a stadium That is beautiful that place is gorgeous and you know a lot of people talking about how early it wasn't completely failed It's like that's 5 30 local time. They got work tough to get there. That is a that's a different place But obviously it's beautiful and Shawn McVeigh loves your addition to the squad and Congrats on turning back the hands of time and maybe live in there for the rest of the year two touchdowns Every game going forward. That's the vautea. Okay, it's here. Go case jury to vautea We're trying baby. We try Thank you for joining us Compton Country Club. We're also huge supporters of that great hat there. How's golf game? It's solid man right now I wouldn't say it's the best in season. I just like once I'm in the all season like the season ends I just want to grab my golf club And I don't even want to touch a football and then once we get in football I'm I'm off it. I drop it and move on. So Once once I'm done once I'm retired I think that's when my game will really go to the next next level before right now like a 4-7 so so We got we got some work to do to to get up there with some of the real big dogs But but I like when my games that right now 0.7 handicap, what is your game? Are you a dude? All is good. Obviously for your 4.7 But we're hitting this thing very long or we're hands short short game short game is my my bread and butter I'm a really good putter and chipper and that's where I scored. That's what that's what helps me probably the most I just started hitting driver like two years ago. I was scared of it. It was it was not a friendly club to me So but now now hitting driver and I'm getting some good distance But I don't swing very hard. I like to keep it in play and and just trust my you know I'm a pretty good iron player, but my my wedges and my putters with what really gets hot in carries my game Are you hitting the two wood? What are you what are you using? I was now I was playing actually a hybrid for a couple years Where it it was bent to a to a three But it was I was getting like maybe like 250 260 out of it But it was like you might as well just go place it in the geometric center of the fairway Tsi - it was with my baby and and now I'm now playing a tailor-made driver and and it's going a little bit farther making a little bit easier Oh, yeah, it's a little a little taco action right here. It's the hybrid here No, that's the driver right right down the that was geometric center as well You're the best well they found you geometrically center in the paint last night twice and we can't wait to watch the rest of the year Thank you for joining us, ma'am Appreciate you, bro. Good to see you up. He's no messed up on day. I don't The geometric center about 250 yards right in the middle of the fairway every time you can find the hybrid yet take that that's Foxy That's go for that's Foxy golf right there Foxy's about 210 yard right in the middle of the fairway driver I think he uses a two wood yeah I've been using that mini driver mini driver saves lives straight down the middle and like Devonte said Half the game is chipping and putting so as long as that's dialed in you can shoot good scores Devonte's so smooth so cool. I mean just you watch him He's so confident because he's obviously been there done that and everybody on the field knows who he is Like obviously we are getting excited to see it for the first time defense is no Devonte's Devonte Oh, yeah, and then when you when he comes to a game and he's you know white receiver won because now you know The passing game is now built around you essentially a lot of time So you're gonna get more opportunities and when he does that like his game He has one of those games that can just age great continue to age great like the next you know four or five years He can still play at a high level because of the little things all the things that he talked about between the years Like we always get excited come come by and time when you know receivers running four two four three jumping 45 inches in the air But like when it comes to actually running routes and knowing when to get open how to get open understanding coverage That's what makes the difference and that's why you see a lot of these guys who maybe you know aren't track stars Be the best white receivers on Sundays because they know how to play the game And I think Devonte at them is a perfect example that I think Puka also right Puka is not running four three or whatever. I mean Jeffers Justin Jefferson I'm in raw like a lot of the Jackson Cooper Cup when he was you know when the triple count a lot of these guys none of these guys were like, you know Chorch and T-shirt you buy a hey, that's the best white receiver league But like Jamar Chase will be the guy that kind of breaks that moe was like hey Absolute athletic free also very very savvy when it comes to all the the other things as well so on but yeah Don't want to leave out jaxas with in juggle. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I do know Reigning all physical but yeah another I think perfect example of those things Yeah, and they showed it on hard knocks like hey, you don't necessarily have to run a four two you can run a four six Yeah, but if you can go from four seven two four six Okay, and you can kind of Shift down in a certain time, then you can create space separation then guess what you're open. Yeah, these guys are slow When you look at it the grand scheme of things you're looking at mad and speed ratings and they're not like you know in the upper 90s But like you know four four five four five one is still moving Especially if you know how to how to play and how to you know get in and out of break. That's why Travis Kelsey gets open Yep, why he's still getting a mostly hoopers. Hi, Jay. Mostly hoopers feels like he but probably know like deep But I know like especially tight ends covering the guys that like like Jason Witt and he's not running the four three But that dude like they know how to burst they kind of low you to sleep in the top of the route They burst either way like they're so savvy and good at working off your leverage I think those are some of the toughest guys to cover Travis Kelsey has the most yards after catching the history of the NFL crazy We're in the four eight right now legend, maybe it is It's awesome and he's a hooper though You can see it when he's running you can just it's like everything's so smooth knows exactly where to go Just like what Gronk was I mean, I assume Gronk's a hooper just because he's drunk Alas Tony Gonzalez Yeah, no statistically less receiving tight end and Tony O'Gaick's hooper Yeah, I think hooping is a big part of like the wiggle that comes from and reading bodies and Utilizing leverage and everything at the wide receiver position So maybe baby might as does get in the hoops a little bit, you know because Jackson Smith and Jig about tall 5-11 Oh, it might be Maybe six foot six foot maybe really I'll say six foot. I think he's Built I don't know if baby mice will make it. He was six foot and five eight inches at the combine Yes, and that's the smallest he's gonna be because remember at the NFL combine They're pushing your head down They want to see how small you can be in the NBA like let's put on a couple pairs of socks get the shoes on Mm-hmm. We want you to be as tall as possible in the NFL. They're like get your Can I can I just like maybe do this one here? No? No, get your stupid head down You guys make me look kind of fat right now with where you're having me stand This is not how I would normally stand and why am I in tights and shirtless in front all these people that I don't know kind of feels like I'm Yep, you are okay 5-11-7-8 that's not real I've been six foot since fucking high school What are we talking about it? Oh, yeah? No, you're 5-11-7 because I don't have confidence up here Well, I didn't know I was gonna be getting shoved around naked in front of people Okay, maybe I could work on that then go to pro day. That was it seniorable. Go to pro day six foot Bob, I was a little bit more confident I didn't know I was gonna get shoved out in front of a bunch of people with a spotlight on me with a guy batting my head as if he's Wreck it Ralph trying to get me down as small as possible. That was a senior bowl. I wasn't even invited to come by NFL feel like we've ever did pretty good. Mm-hmm college football. We had Reese's pieces. Yeah, feel like we covered it pretty good The only thing we haven't done AJ for college football He's make sure everybody understands right where tones above average pull is there we go Okay, so tone debuted last week his pull which would be his rankings of the top three teams in College football. He has an AP vote for the NFL not in college We call it an above average pull because he's doing some research, but he's not I mean, we're not boots on the ground It always and it's definitely not like 30,000 foot view with no research. It's not average It's not super elite because you're not in there. It's just an above average poll tone Who sits atop your above average poll this week? Yeah, and speaking of 30,000 feet I am trying to book a flight to Turkey to see if we can get that pull a little more above average and it is currently Right now they do that over there. It's a lot cheaper. Yeah, it's a lot cheaper. Wait, you get your hair done over there and Better college football polls. Yes bigger. Wow. I didn't know that you can even girthier So this is kind of turned into like a Combination of the season long mixed with what just happened this weekend like who won the weekend and obviously there Was only one team that you put at the top of this above average pull and that was the Ole Miss Rebs Relations are a minute wait a minute. Yeah, I'm seeing down there near the bottom number two and number three teams on this poll Yeah, that's right. It's a combination like because guess what second best win in the weekend could have been the West Virginia mountaineer's They got a ranked win 10 plus points ranked win, which you know surprise mountaineers aren't ranked this week as neutral site neutral site you're right to Down in Charlotte not Charlotte's bill And then you know Georgia. They've just been taking they had their first the opponent of actual, well, it's hard to say the Arkansas is an actual opponent. They didn't have anyone to show for the game or anything like that. But it is a power of 14 and Georgia's been, just been running amuck this season. But Ole Miss at the top fall by WVU and Georgia. - Okay, DeBot, first thoughts as you see this pole that is above average. - I am our first star. I can't believe Tony's pandering right now. That West Virginia low blow pick. What does Texas have to do to get on this pole? - I'm sorry. - They look like, they looked like dogs shit against UTSA and I'm not gonna reward that. I mean, how are they supposed to barge to his 12 of 50? Okay, it was up that week for the long horse. Tell you what they win in Knoxville this weekend. They're a good chance they're back at the top of the pool. - Okay, so there's a chance I can slide up the pole. The team at the top of your pole here has another massive one this weekend and congrats to them because we see where their positioning is on your pole. I don't think they even have to play another game. - They win this weekend already. - Yeah, they already won the game. - They should have favored them, right? - Nope, nope, Florida's favorite over the man. - They're not favorite. - And the team that sets the top tones average. - Wow, what? - It's crazy. - Joining us now though, guy that maybe can just call it a season. Big game on Saturday. Now he's the top tones pole. Head coach, the Ole Miss Red football team. Friend of the program, ladies and gentlemen. Pete Goldie. - Yeah. - There you go. - Congrats dude. - The fellas. - Hey, just shut it down. You're on top of the pole. No worries. - Yeah, shit, go home, man. - I'll go home early. - Congrats coach. - Reese Davis, you're good at wrong weight. Go to the other way please. If you could, to your right shoulder, as opposed to your left shoulder. I don't know if it's on a moving thing, whatever. The other way, yeah, you look great. Shut it down coach. You beat LSU. Obviously an awesome weekend. Tone rewarded you. Reese Davis in the first hour said, Ole Miss is the best team in ball. So I think it's good for you guys just to kind of, maybe don't do anything for the rest of the season. Now on that note, a lot of accolades come in your way. How are you handling it? It was a huge win. The world watched it. I was lucky to be down there. What an atmosphere. What a time. How are you viewing Saturday? And how are you viewing? How people are talking about your team at this point, as opposed to maybe a couple weeks ago? - I kind of love how Tone said it, man. He said it's like this was based on last weekend. Like what have you done for me lately? Like it was Saturday. And it was an unbelievable environment. Our fans were awesome. Studio section was awesome. Kids came out, played the butt off. What in perfect by any means? I think I had the job done for that week. And congratulations. You get to go play another top 25 team at Florida who's got an 80% win right in the last 10 years as a top 25 team with versus one of the best offenses in the country versus some are all coach football team. It's coming from the playoffs. I think Buster Faulkner's one of the best offense of coordinators in the country does a unbelievable job. On top of having Brad on the defense, which we lost a Kentucky in the 24 season with Brad as the DC at Kentucky. And then we go to Florida right number 14, playing a five and five football team in 2024 and getting embarrassed in the swamp. So if anybody in this building is not working their ass off to know that they're gonna play a really good football team that's really well coached, there's more wrong with them than I think there is. Okay, so what about the, you're on top of the pole though? Let's see, it was a great way. This is a good time, Pete. It's a good time. Yeah, so if we're having this conversation in January, bro, I'm all about it, man. It's September. Okay, last question for me before the boys have question for you. I don't know if you're seeing this, but obviously whenever you get dropped into a college football playoff run as your first head coaching experience, your top 10 opponents versus wins versus top 10 opponents. So obviously like greatest in the history of college football coaching. Does it feel like this is just normal for you? Because conversation around college ball is, we don't have these big games, we don't have these big games. And I assume you're thinking yourself, all we do is have big games. How do you treat that? How do you talk about that? And how do you feel now as a season coach for these types of massive games? Season, it's a good word. No, I think being under a coach saving at Alabama and being all those big games and the big environments and that's the norm, that's the expectation, that's what it should be. But I love just watching him. It didn't matter if we were playing Citadel or we were playing Georgia in the SEC Championship game. It didn't matter. Like your preparation's gotta be exactly the same. You gotta have really good game plans. You gotta hold your players accountable. And you gotta do things right Monday through Friday to how the results you won on Saturday. So I'm very grateful for being around that for five and a half years. I was very fortunate of the timing of this thing when it happened last year. There wasn't much to think about. The training was kinda hard on the track and let's get in and run with it. And then the schedule is what it is. You got nine SEC teams. And so every week, if you don't show up and prepare really well and pray really well, you're gonna get your butt beat. So it feels like a top 25 match every week, but we're our biggest opponent. And as day in and day out and we got so much things to clean up, we've yet to play four quarters of football. And so we got a lot to correct that we put on tape that they're gonna try to take advantage of. - I love that you're never happy, dude. You just got that miserableness that every head coach that is great at what they do has to have deep down in there. And that doesn't mean you don't have great energy. Which you do have great energy and great aura. But deep down there is just a misery that is always looming for every coach that's scared to death that it's around the corner. I respect and appreciate that you have that. - Well, I don't know if you've seen the stat, but they lead the country in force missed tackles. And we're second in the country in missed tackles. And so when you, the combination of those two things don't make you sleep well at night. On top of when you look at what really matters in the SEC right now, like teams that won the takeaway battle last week, undefeated, right, six and a half. Teams that won the explosive, nine and a half. So the football obviously is gonna be very, very important this week and protecting and taking advantage of it on defense. They're second in the SEC and call of turnovers. So they've done a really good job to play a couple of Merry Football. So it's gonna be a challenge. We're excited. This one's a really tough place to play. Like I said, we lost in 24 down there being ranked. And I remember going in there at number one at Alabama, and it's a one possession game late, you know, and you're sneaking out of there. So a lot of respect for Coach Sumeraw and that team and it's gonna have to be a battle. - I love it, just. - Hey, let me tell you boys, why we're completely fucked this week. That's what you just did, right? - Yeah, AJ has a question for you coach. - Yeah coach obviously you guys jumped out to an early lead against LSU and then it became close and you guys ultimately find a way to win. I guess at all levels, it seems very difficult to play with a lead. Like can you explain what it's like if you get up two scores, almost three scores at times? Like why, no matter what NFL college high school youth, like playing with a lead is difficult. Do you have any, is that something you guys can work on and you can play and try to work on through the week? - Well, I think it goes back to kind of their mindset where their focus is and when you start to become outcome oriented and start looking at the scoreboard and all that type of stuff. So you try to simulate it in practice from the standpoint of giving them more breaks and like all right, here's the second half 'cause it's really been the third quarter for us that's been an issue. It was in Charlotte, you sitting there 27-0.5 time, come out in the third quarter, don't play well on either side of the ball. So we addressed it a half time at LSU, we thought we worked on it that week. We came out, we got a three out on defense and then we turned the football over and then they go score 17 straight. So that's something the mindset wise and the focus and the attention to detail. Man, like you don't know what play it's gonna be, you don't know what quarter it's gonna be, but I think that's more of a mindset than an outlook than it really is based on it being the third quarter or anything like that. So, you know, and this league, man, you can't relax and you can't never settle and you can't become comfortable. So I think we gotta do a better job of coaches of staying on their ass and make sure they're focused on the right thing. I didn't feel like that we changed our mindset so on either side of the ball as far as, you know, not being aggressive and anything like that. So a lot of times you'll look back at the tape and like, okay, did we get soft? Did we play off? Did we give them free access? You know, did we try to run the ball more than take shots? Didn't feel like the game plan had all changed, but just thought we didn't execute the same level we needed to and hats off to them. They made a couple really good plays as well. - Yeah, and it's good to coach from. That's always good to have coming out of a massive win like that and you talk about that particular win. I mean, the energy was palpable from the morning. Thank you for coming by the game day set. That grove was alive so many tents. I mean, just do they, what is the number of humans that are out there? I mean, it just, no idea. Actually, I don't even know what could you, 'cause somebody asked me at the NFL, they were like, what was the grove like? I've heard it's an insane tailgate. It's like, I'd say, it's a whole city of tents that is just as far as you can see and every single tent is like somebody's house and then like they have neighbors and then like you go to this one and you walk through this one to get to this one. I'll go six tents this way, three tents that way. You'll run into Jim. Jim has the shit. It's like a whole world under there. It seems like, and boy, they love your team. But on that note, it can bring a lot of energy to a night that can maybe get KG. Go ahead, deep down. - Absolutely, so much energy, a lot of hoop log that's surrounding this game, game day. Everyone knows this one was circled, at least when he outside in. At what point did it just become a football game for you for the coaches and in the players? With all that on the outside and then going forward after the game, I know you're looking forward to Florida. How do you kind of avoid as a coach? I guess that emotional, emotional kind of dump or let down that players or teams could have going into their next football game. - Yeah, I mean, I think going into it, kind of what we had put on tape, versus Louisville and Charlotte wasn't good football for four quarters, and we had made a lot of mistakes in all three phases and we're vulnerable in certain things that, you know, the Charlotte game came in a really good time that we didn't play real well versus Louisville and busted a lot of stuff and then came back and Charlotte and didn't finish it the way that we were supposed to. So, you know, my message to those guys, I don't care if you're playing Charlotte, Delta State, if you roll a three cloud and you ain't got a high play, you're going to get your ass beat, like the mistakes that we were making had nothing to do with who we were playing. And so, you know, I felt like it was a good week to really focus on ourselves. That's easier said than done, as you guys know. I mean, we got LA Langley in town, you got game day and all that. [BLANK_AUDIO] So it was proud of the players, really proud of the building and our staff and our coaches. We're gonna keep the focus and make sure on the preparation and hold them accountable throughout the week. But we had some guys step up from a leadership standpoint and hold their teammates accountable as well 'cause we knew we're gonna have to play well in that game to win that game. And then going into this one, man, like this one's a harder one, right? It's easier to get there than stay there. Y'all, we all know that. And so, you know, putting the focus on the right shit. And, you know, we gotta buy a week next week. That's what I met with him Sunday night. I'm like, look, man, what do we have a week from now? I was like, Coach, I don't know. I was like, you gotta buy a week, right? Like, I need six days to go all in. And then I'll give you time. I'll have to work all that shit out. But like, for six days, we gotta go all in and we gotta do things the right way. So you got a good feeling in the buy week 'cause it's gonna take everything we got. So hopefully they can kind of see the light of the tunnel with this buy coming up next week to really be able to focus and really prepare the right way to play a good team. - I like the motivation. You know, it doesn't matter what the motivation is. If you can get everybody to rally, that's the only thing that matters. And I think you got the right guy to rally around. Everybody seemingly noticing and acknowledging at this point. Last question for you here from Tone. - Yeah, Coach, you're talking about Trinidad Channelist who, I mean, that man is, he, there is no thrill that scares him on the football field. There's no move, there's no play that scares him on the football field. He is willing to do anything and feels like every single time he makes the play, what kind of confidence does he give you and then just his teammates on offense? And then there was a lot of talk of injury reports last week on Wednesday or Thursday. Are we gonna find out what's going on with Juan Lacey and if he's gonna be available this week? - That question, actually. - Yeah, obviously Trinidad started with him. He's a fierce competitor, man. And obviously our entire team has all the confidence in the world in him, not based on what he's done, but based on how he comes in every day and prepares and works his butt off and how he practices and how he pulls the people around him with him. So a lot of confidence, our team has in him. Obviously, I have a lot of confidence in him. Veteran quarterback, back in the system. It's one everywhere he's been, one in that championship division too, had a good run last year. So, love in the balls in his hands. As far as Kiwan, Kiwan did bang the shoulder up in the game. MRI on Sunday wasn't as bad as we thought. So we're gonna manage it throughout the week and really evaluate it from a Saturday standpoint. Is he healthy enough to play winning football or not? That is why we went out and got three more backs in the off season. If a JT came in and played really well, my Kai would get healthy. So for some reason, he's not able to play. We'll have some other guys better rolling. - Well, congratulations. I don't even think you have to play the game. They already won the national championship. - Where'd he go, Pete? - They'll call it summer all going home, man. I appreciate you guys. (laughing) - How about the Pete chance, bro? - Pete, Pete, Pete. - That was pretty nice. I know, I don't know if you heard that. The whole stadium was Pete Channing. I loved it. - And lose the game and there'll be four sales signs of Pete's house. We understand how this port is. We appreciate all the support, man. We just gotta keep working hard and put a good product on tape. We'll be on it. - You're the man, good luck. Congrats, ladies and gentlemen. - Appreciate it. - You too, man. - Echo. - Yeah, for sale, Pete. He's what they'll be saying on the other side of that. He's got all the traits of just a head coach, even though he had a nice little life as a decordator. Yeah, a nice little life as a defensive coordinator. And then this all kind of happens and they go, hey, we think you're the only guy that could rally everybody. Congrats, you're the head coach of Ole Miss through the coach football playoffs. Oh, it went really well. Now you're head coach of the SEC. All right. Yeah, let's see. I guess I'm getting a haircut. That's kind of the only thing to change. He's the best. So are sports and football. We'll be back tomorrow. Big Shrugs is next. Oh, it's big day. - Yeah, but it's big. - Big Shrugs about big Shrugs. - Big Shrugs next. - Close it. - It's like saying McAfee's next. - Yeah. - McAfee. - Yeah. - Cuffage next. - Yeah, exactly. - Swagu's energy is hilarious. How about when Ram Page came up there? - Rammy, you mean? - I'll tell you, it's hard for me, you know. When their names are on their back. - Sure. - Yeah. - So if I'm staring at them and they can't talk, you know, so I can't just ask me, hi, my name's Pat, which would be a normal interaction. These things don't like the gossip. So they, they, they, they, they, they, they, well, you're right. - Exactly. - Yeah. - There are a couple mouthy ones. There are certainly a couple mouthy ones. - The worst ones. - There are a few that certainly break the gimmick that Connor doesn't love. - Nope. - And we've been down and through the mascot world a couple different times. And I think we show more respect for the mascots than maybe anybody else. But they're not known what their name is. Is tough. I mean, that's a tough thing. And Rami would be a great name. - Yeah. - You don't think Rami? - No, I do. I was just thinking, like, what's the problem with just saying it's the Rams mascot? Like who gives, who gives a fuck what his name is? Like even with blue, like, who gives a fuck? That is a cool mascot. I'm sorry, my football team doesn't have a fucking mascot. We don't, we don't, we don't do that. - You guys wear a cheesehands on all your fucking heads. - Exactly. That's not a fucking mascot. - We're kind of all mascots. - Well, the people can talk. We don't act, we don't have to act like this fucking guy in a costume needs to have the-- - Or a girl. - Or a girl. - What about hockey? Well, we're not talking about hockey right now. - Yeah, 'cause I saw you fucking banging the guy. - No, no, no, no, no. - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we're not talking about hockey. - You talking about hockey? - Okay. - What a disgusting thing. - That's different. College, I get it. In the NFL, I don't think we need to be referring to these goddamn mascots by name. I think you can just say this is the Rams mascot. It is a ramp. This is the Colts mascot. It's a fucking Colts. - Blue. - Sure, if you want-- now, and if you're a diehard mascot guy and you want to call him blue, you want to call him Ram Page. - Steeley. - Pat the Patriot. Steeley McBeam. - Thank God. - That's fine. - Jack's hem devil. - Yeah, exactly. That's fine, but oh, so Jaguar's mascot. That's what I'm gonna stick with. - Dude, fuck getting-- oh, no. Oh, no. They've already updated the Wikipedia. - For-- - Rammy, see? - Ram Page or Mr. Rammy? - There you go. - Is that for-- - Is that for-- - So, in college, there's a lot of mascots, and I try my best to acknowledge them. - And that's a big part of that, so I understand that, because people do get chute-pissed if-- like Mr. Mountaineer. I never get it right. I never get the name right. I'm always in the ballpark, but I have batted zero with guessing these things' names. That's the first time that Swagoo has been around me attempting it just right to the face. His reaction was fucking glorious. And then Ram Page's depression drop and then turning around and pointing out-- - Pat, he was a good guy. He balled that very well. - Yeah, that was a good time. We had-- we had some fun up there. Swagoo's first round pick, Jason Kelsey's best center of all time. I think people forget that, AJ. Like, actually-- - They definitely do. They definitely forget. - Yeah, and I think Jason is okay if they forget about that, because his media career is becoming whatever it is, but like, hey, this is certified. Like, I know he has fun, and he gets called the sexy-- he's the sexiest man on earth, and he's loud, because he likes football, and he's a bigger man, so he gets excited about it. But, like, I think a lot of people forget that this fucking guy is the guy. You know, like, on the internet, the way people are talking about it, it's like, hey, this guy still wants to do one-on-ones, by the way, in full pads. This guy still wants to do that. His body just what kind of won't let him. Tush bush, his thing. Literally moving other humans. Everything he has done is incredible. So, just being up there, J-Mac, he's phenomenal on television. - Yes, he is. - J-Mac is-- I watched him late night last night, late night last night. - Really? - Late night last night with SVP, where he was on the-- he was on like a little touchscreen, and then he was also on the thing. It's like, he's really talented. And then Scott Fampoats-- he's a Hall of Famer, right? I mean, he's not Fampo Hall of Famer, whenever he goes out, so lucky to be a part of that. Very lucky to be a part of that. We've had fun these first two weeks. Chicago Nets. Here we go. The bag man with the bag man. What's that? The bag man. The bag man. No, we don't know if that's it. No, maybe. Oh, it's the bag man. The big week. Yeah, Ben Johnson must have. And his dad's got huge form. So get ready. I'm just huge for him. So obviously a lot of heart. Yeah, you know, and world champion arm wrestling. Yeah, cool way to turn. I know that. Yeah, you're great tattoos. He goes over to top. You didn't hear that story? No. No, I was getting I've heard it about 100 billion times. I understand that his dad's a, you know, a champion arm wrestler. I get it. Oh, you've heard that story? Yeah, it's crazy. I know. Good news. I got some good news for you. We're gonna hear it a couple more times. I think. Yeah, I don't doubt it. I don't doubt it. Which I'm okay with because over the top is one of my favorites last the low movies of all time. That's, and I'm guessing it motivated the bag man's dad to go, you know, he probably has a Lincoln Hawk tattoo on like his shoulders, something I would get shepherd university at a West Virginia. The dad becomes world champion arm wrestler. Mm hmm. Hard knocks gets hold of this right? Yes. I think hard knocks gets hold of this information and goes who all the way in and dad's awesome. He's a fucking professional arm wrestler out of West Virginia. He's a wild man. He's gonna be fucking awesome. So just a little heads up. If he's starting a Monday night football game, I think we're gonna hear about. I think we are too. I think there's a chance it's coming. I do think that helps him being a backup quarterback though. Obviously great toughness, everything like that. The backup quarterback position and rap talked about it and we've talked about it. It's not easy. That's why you see a lot of the same names do it because they're trusted and that's like, hey, they could put up not every like starting quarterback from college or starting quarterback from high school. Who's the man, homie? Every place they were at. They were the best football player. The entire system is built up around them like, hey, this is how we want to do ball. So not only like ego wise and pride wise, you have to put that down and be like, no, I'm not going to play. You have to like just serve basically. You have to serve the defense. You have to serve the quarterback. You have to serve the coaches. You have to serve the locker room. You have to serve. It's like a lot of, you know, democratic work. A lot of mental stuff too. You got to prepare like you are the starter and you may go. seven years before getting in. I mean, Jim Sorge sat behind Peyton for how many years, like forever. - And then once he left Peyton, he went over to the Giants, it was behind Eli. And it's like, that's 'cause Eli knows that he's already got, so like the backup quarterback position, they do get it put into a carousel. It's 'cause it's not easy, which is once again why we expected a lot more from Jamis, because this is Jamis' role and has been for a while, it's just maybe tough night for Jamis. - Yeah, I think definitely, definitely a tough night. I think hopefully he will figure it out. We've seen ups, we've seen down some Jamis, but I think a lot of times we see it where the backup quarterback, like that first time they go in, it was kind of what Pete said, 'cause you don't have time to really think about it. - Yeah, they're good. - And they're gonna play like numbed. Teams haven't necessarily game playing for you, they don't know your strengths, your weaknesses, what you like, what you don't like. So you just go on there to play, you play against him, and you just run it almost like you've been doing the scout team all week. And then as the weeks go on, when you know you're gonna be the starter, and now you have more input in the game plan, that's when you see it get hard and it's like, turn it to a pumpkin. - That's why this guy is a backup quarterback. So if you have a backup, you have an injury that maybe your quarterback is out three, four, five weeks, you just have a guy that can keep you afloat, still have good vibes, still feel like an adult in a room, when you run out of that tunnel as a teammate, you feel like you actually have a chance, that's important. So I think hopefully Jamis can figure it out, we've seen him. You talked about the reason these guys have jobs, where if Jamis was high as a winner, the national champion, number one pick, was a starter league for a long time, got paid. So you would think he would have, you know, he would have it to figure it out. So we got to see you. - Super Bowl champion Sam Darnold out backup quarterback in. Caleb Williams, potentially gonna have record-breaking offense this year, out backup quarterback. Jane Daniels needed for the Washington commanders this year after your rookie season, then getting hurt in the other one, out Marcus Marriott is in there. Jackson Dart, the Giants, all the way back out, Jamis Winston's in there. So this might be one of those years that we don't, nobody really wants, obviously. Actually, universal, right now. - Injuries? - Injuries. - Okay. - The best guys in the year. Here we go. Money. Damn. Was that four more injuries or no injuries? - That was, that was for more injuries. - Okay. This one's for no injuries. - That's what I thought. - Yeah, that's a good idea. Way to work us out of that. - 'Cause we just said injuries. - Yeah, this is for no more injuries in football, especially to the quarterback position, which this is an alarming rate for starting quarterbacks that we're having here the first two weeks. Couple of years ago, it was 60 some quarterbacks at play. - 60 weeks, yeah. - And remember, some of those prime time games, some of those prime time games were just absolute slop. I mean, just, we were watching Carson Wentz take on Tyson Beijing in the middle of the downpour. And we thought the Chicago Bears were potentially gonna have a record breaking offense this season, not in the case. Carson, Tyson, week two, soldier field, downpour, nine-three game. It's like, we could be staring that down here. - Go ahead. - Need you. Need your first ball. Quarterback injuries, no more if this goes in. Fuck, missed it. - All right. Ladies and gentlemen, join us now. - Oh no. - How's my worst throw yet? - Pain. - It's not good. - It's not good. - Oh no. - What are you fucking close? - Maybe it's 'cause we haven't gotten an update, you know? Maybe it's 'cause we haven't gotten an update all last night. You know? - Oh man. - So maybe it wasn't, that was my worst throw yet. That was my by far, my worst throw yet. It's not, I don't know what's, I'm so sorry that that happened. That was supposed to go in. - Collar is coming back this week. - Boom, we're getting one back. - Okay. - That's right. Certainly doing it. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who's representing the United States of America. - Hell yeah. - And from the tweet that was seen 2.9 million times, whenever it was announced that he was gonna be representing the United States of America, he was pumped. We're talking bald eagles. We're talking military movies. We're talking US Olympic wins. I'll put together, I believe. I don't know, it's against the song. - He did it, he added it himself. - I ain't any saying this song. - Oh, it's off it. - Nice. - Man from New Jersey, who has five PGA tour wins. And he's a member of the president's cup, United States team, which is battling this weekend in Chicago against the rest of the world outside of Europe. - Yes. - Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Goddard. - Yes. - Thanks, fellas. - Hey, the time has come now, Chris. Okay, we saw your video, whenever it was announced, you're a part of America. Now it's time to beat the world's ass. How are we feeling? Just a couple of days removed here from the president's cup. We have won since 1984. In this particular one, I do believe. I don't know if they've ever beat the United States of America. How do you feel? How do the lads feel? And obviously, we need this, Chris, as a country. So good luck out there. - Yeah, thank you. It's been great so far, so good. Obviously, it's been a little cold and windy here, but it's been nice. Yeah, everyone's got good vibes this week. We had a little tradition night last night and we had to sing some karaoke and I put your dip, but I was expected, but yeah, it's been good. - What song? ♪ I am a real American ♪ - What was that? - I went and creed one last breath and I-- - Home. - And I-- - Wow. - What are you saying? - Was it just the rookies or everybody? - Yeah, who's saying? - Just the rookies, just the rookies. - Okay, so it'll never happen again, so-- - Can't put you there on Chris? - No one can sing it like Scott's. - Wait a minute. - Yeah, I mean, we were set up for failure to begin with, but yeah, it was funny. That's what they wanted, so we gave them what they wanted. - You don't do Mariah Carey and you don't do Scott's step. - Bingo. It was kind of rules to live by in karaoke. I think we'll all go forward. If you ever get a chance to do this again, actually I don't know the golf community, I don't know. We always talk about the rookies in the NFL. All you gotta do is, ain't no mountain pie. - And the whole place just starts singing with you and then all of a sudden now you're just like the conductor of a good time and everybody's like, yeah, and then you're out of there, 30, 45 seconds. - Yeah, yeah, something-- - Yeah, you gotta go for the, you gotta go for the sing along, get everybody ready quicks. - Yeah, so I don't like the decisions you're making here early. - So who decided that you're gonna do Scott's step was that the lads or was that you? - No, it's you, you pack, you pack, so my fault. - Scott's step! - You wipe with out there, okay. So whatever we talk about the team, you know, obviously you guys are an individual sport. We talk to the golfers about the rider cup and how good it feels to be a part of team sport, team sport. For you, did you grow up playing team sports? I think I read you were in La Crosse and how does that actually affect golfers being on a team together? Like are you guys trying to motivate each other or are you trying to pair one together? Like how does the team aspect for an individual sport work for you? - Yeah, I think, you know, I'm not too far removed from college golf, so I'm used to the team stuff a little bit, but it is different. I mean, you gotta be pretty selfish in golf, especially individually to make it. And it's a unique opportunity for us to kind of come together and spend a lot of time and really kind of lean on whatever another. But yeah, it's an interesting dynamic. We spend a lot of time together at home, a lot of us live together in Florida, so we spend a lot of time practicing and whatnot. So we're all pretty friendly to begin with. So it's not too difficult for us to kind of become friends and kind of come together for one week. - Well, you were a good La Crosse player, yeah? - I mean, you know, I'm not gonna say that, but I could shoot it and I'm slow though. - Okay, so you just gotta walk the golf course, that's all we did. - Yeah, yeah, I think the better sport for that. - Yeah, I think it worked out for all of us. Go ahead AJ. - Yeah, as far as the setup here at Medina, I know I'm not sure if the president's cup is like the rider cup, but we're the home team kind of gets to set it up. Are we setting this up for success for you guys? Make sure it's playing to your strength and not the international guys and really making sure we're, you know, making sure all the boxes are checked and we're gonna win this thing. - Yeah, that kind of sneds role leading up into it. You know, we came out for a practice trip and he was kind of asking us what we liked, what we wanted to change. You know, ideally we wanted to play as hard as possible and I think we have, you know, the guys like to handle that. And, but I think we kind of handed over to the PJ tour, they kind of manage it from here on out. Like we don't get the pick the keys, we don't get to do all this other stuff. The tour manages it from here on out, like a normal tournament. But we have input up until Friday. So I'm sure we're not, the players aren't really involved in any of the time, you know, the captain kind of talks to us and relays in the message to the tour. - Thursday, five four ball matches. Friday, five four some matches. Ooh. Saturday, around three and four, you got four four ball matches in the morning, four four some matches in the afternoon. Then Sunday is what all comes down. - Yeah, 12 points a lot. - We just gotta stay within 12, okay? Ryder Cup, we're close to not, you know, that was something that happened then. We almost had the biggest comeback in the history of sports. Inevitably, we didn't, 'cause that's not how golf works. Need that not to happen here in Presidents Cup. That's why we got Chris Gauder up over there. - Oh yeah. - That's why we got Chris Gauder up over there. Go ahead, Tash, man. - Yeah, Chris, how, I don't know how much you've played it so far this week. How is the course playing? You mentioned the wind a little bit of the rain. We saw the Bears game on Sunday against the Viking, it was essentially a month soon. How are the course conditions thus far? - I mean, the course is in pretty good shape. It's obviously what it based off what you saw. I think they said they got four or five inches of rain in like 72 hours, so it's wet and long. But I think it's supposed to get better as the week goes on here and hopefully some of those winds drives out like, of course, it makes it a little firmer. But yeah, you're gonna get a long, long soft golf course and yeah, I mean, it's gonna be a good test to either way. - Okay, let's talk about the style in these particular games. other types of events that we all like kind of looks like other sports. Go ahead, Khan, man. Yeah, Chris, it feels like match play is the best at times for people who aren't huge golf fans, just to watch it simpler, kind of easier to read and now match play is becoming a big thing on the tour after this next season, being the kind of tour playoff setup with the matches. Do you like that? Do you enjoy the match play more? What is kind of your read on the entire thing and what was your reaction to the tour playoff escape and change to that? Yeah, I think it's a, you know, for TV, I think it's a great product, you know, you're going to get, you know, a normal tournament, you get the best player over 72 holes wins in tournament where, you know, you see on Thursday, some guy goes out and shoots an under at a normal tournament like he could beat anyone that day. So I think match play gets exciting and a little more chaotic, you know, than a normal tournament where the best player is going to win the whole thing where you can kind of weasel your way through a bracket a little bit, which is, which is good for, you know, viewership. Yeah, and you can compete, you know, you can compete out there. I like that you're trying to beat somebody directly because you guys are always so good. Yeah. Yeah, and that is part of the game that I don't think I fully understand, especially on a Sunday. Like, what do we just see this Sunday? This guy, he had a par five, one stroke lead, this guy lays up, goes into the sand, hits a double brutal, brutal, but then afterwards he assesses go, JJ, good job man, you know, instead of like a full collapse, like we see in other sports, you guys have to be super like it feels like professional for the good of sport. I like a match play that there is a little bit of motion, yeah, there's a little direct, you know, like Scotty Schaffer was that cut the last president's cup maybe screaming after a long putt was made, it's like a little bit more set up for that type of stuff. And out of New Jersey, I assume that might be somewhere that might be in your ballpark. Now, speaking of turnpike town, go ahead or parkway town, go ahead, tone. Yeah, Chris, what the hell is going on in Piscataway? Okay. I mean, I know Sean was great, but what the hell is going on with Rutgers football? I mean, you're, I don't know, I mean, I had hope last Saturday for a day and just, you know, I got the life sucked out of me again, but I don't know. It's tough, man. I mean, hopefully everyone sticks in it. I know I'll be watching every Saturday that I can and try to try to, I mean, try to. Yeah, it's tough, tough break going on there, but I mean, hopefully, Shanna were turned around. I've had a rough, I've had a rough start here. I got, oh, you losing a Michigan Rutgers, oh and three and that Colts game on Sunday night was tough. Yeah, Oklahoma. I don't know, brother, that was supposed to be good this year. It just has. No, I know. It's, it's, it's been a rough, rough football, sorry for me. It's all right. Golf about to be incredible. Now, golf is an interesting thing because you are isolated individual, but you do have a tag team partner. Last question here from Debut for you. Yeah, Chris, and I don't know if you saw this video, I'm speaking of golf, I think leaving it from the last week with To see his caddy quit mid-round, then walking into the night though right before the turn. So I want to kind of ask, just kind of a zoomed out question. What goes into selecting your cad? I know your brother's on the back for one of your wins as well. I know that was special. What goes into actually selecting a caddy? Have you had any moments like this in your golf career? I've never seen this in my life, but props to that guy, that video is so good. To have the, you know, the balls to go out and do that and drop the bag and just walk in is something else, but, yeah, I mean, caddy, the caddy thing is something that I super underrated, you know, coming out of school, I didn't think it was a big deal and, you know, you, you spend more time with your caddy than your family. So you got to be really good friends. You spend so much time together and then you got to lean on him and trust him to either tell you when something's wrong or, you know, kind of double down on what you guys think is right. So it's something that's massively important and we rely heavily on these guys. All right. So what am I doing wrong here? It's a punter, so it's not wrong. Oh, the punter, a punter might be problem number one. Classic. Okay. I think you got the undefeatable underneath your desk, too. I look pretty nice, nothing wrong with that. I do. See? That was good tempo. That's the best tempo I've ever seen. Yeah, that's nice. Wait a minute. Maybe I'm in the president's office. Who would be so mad if I showed my face there? I will stay away, but I will watch the hell out of you guys this weekend. Thank you for representing our country. Thank you for taking the time and tell the boys we need it. Hey, we need it. We got you. We got you. Maybe karaoke last night, the national anthem, too. What the fuck? There's so many different answers. I thought that was a cop-out answer, though. I felt like that was too easy. Okay. So you want to Scott's staff? You said, give me the impossible one. I like it. Scotty Payne for dinners. Good question. Yeah. No, we have team dinner now. A PGA. A PGA. A PGA place? Yeah. A PGA card. Yeah. Oh, let's run that up. Yeah. Big tips, too. People working there, obviously. You know, they need that. So let's make sure the PGA is tipping it off. I think roll lap will be pumped about that. Take care of this. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. All right. Let's go get a win, Chris. Thank you for joining us, brother. All right. Thank you guys. Thanks for having me. He's coming in. Former lacrosse player. He's out of here. Yeah. Chris. Okay. I like our team. It's a good kid. Big time. We haven't lost this since 1984. No, it's been a long time. It is like the 90s. It was before 2000. That's for sure. I think our lowest. Our lowest ranked guy is ranked higher than their highest ranked guy. No, because they got, they got a couple guys from Korea. See who's ranked high? Yep. Min Woo, Ryan G. Fox. See who. They've got a couple. Yeah, they got like three guys that are up amongst that. But yeah, allegedly like the top eight ranked guys are all American. So they worry about that for you. Jump out to an earlier. What's that? They worry about that team. They need to be. Nah. We're fresh off. We've had a beat that ass. As beating, dude, rocker couples, maybe the most embarrassing performance for Team USA on US soil that they've had in a long, long time. And every time I see one of these golfers. Okay. Because everybody knows how I operate. I like to know a little bit about everything. So I can talk to anybody about anything. But when I'm talking to these people about things that I don't know a lot about and I'm in a little bit about part. I unload everything I got. Okay. So everything I got is coming out. I get to these golfers. First of all, I talk about the Coke, cola, swing thoughts. Obviously the majors and the history and everything. And then I always end it with a team USA golf. We need to fucking. We need to start winning it. Always. It's on the way out. You know. Way in. Hey, holy hell. Good to see you. Congrats on all the success. You know, we're talking about pop up. You're swing. You're win. Pop, pop, pop everything that I got. Unload, unload. You see me coming out of fucking pocket. Oh, all that. You know, I'm dropping it all. I'm doing it. I'm doing it. And at the very end, it's always. Can't be fucking losing. Whatever you represent in USA. And they always say, you're a preacher to choir. That's how they all say it. All right. Good luck. And I walk away. Same combo. I think they all do feel a bit embarrassed for what happened in the running of it. So I think this time we have a different mindset. Not that we should win. But I think the boys are very much like, hey, we can't be letting what happened at the running up ever happen again. So I think they're locked in from my understanding. Speaking of locked in. We thought for sure. Monday night, we'd be seeing the bag man and his dad man. Yeah. And the arm wrestling. Chicago. Because Caleb. Caleb is not back. We don't know yet. Actually, that has not been announced. But he is obviously dealing with a hamstring. Tyson Baygett in concussion protocol. Oh, what? Whoa, whoa, whoa. He is in concussion protocol. All right. Okay. From our understanding of concussion protocol. Probably going to miss a week. That's kind of been the norm with this entire thing in the modern era with the new concussion protocols. Case canum now playing quarterback. I don't think it's a bad thing. I'm all of a sudden thinking of myself. Case canum. Ben Johnson's offense. Yeah. We should be right home. With a week to prepare too. He knows all week. There's a good chance he's going to be playing. This is one of those older guys who's a backup quarterback. It's a pro. Yeah, it's a backup quarterback commercials. Isn't casepin' in those backup quarterbacks. Yeah, I said, yeah, yeah. Him and DeFito. Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, he's fucked that. I want the bag man. Okay. I want the back man. He's got concussion. He'll be fine. We've all had concussions. He's the bag man. Flux the game. I'm sick of the flux not being able to happen until week 30. Fuck this. I don't want to see Case canum. I'm Monday night fucking football. In 2026. This sucks. This week three man. Come on. You're right. It's early. Early days, isn't it? Oh. I think Case still might make it. Yeah. There's Case canum though. And a Ben Johnson offense. I would have done unspeakable things a month ago for Case canum and a Ben Johnson offense. And a Monday night. Yeah, exactly. Whenever we didn't have ball. That was a fucking month ago. You see the games we have Saturday. You see the cards football action. You see the games leading up to Monday night football. That sucks. Yeah. Well, it'll certainly be great to showcase Chicago. We'll see Ben Johnson. Caleb has not been ruled out. Good. And then on the other side coming in we've got stars galore. Eagles coming at time. So. - That'll be cool. - Cereani on Monday Night Football, no time. - They look like shit. Think about how we would've-- - Two and a half. - Think about how we would've-- - This is the same thing how they look when they want a Superboy or by said-- - Two and a half. - Exactly, and sometimes it works out, sometimes they go 10 and one and then finishes the season. Oh, and seven. Think about how we would've been talking about this Rams game in the Giants game while I signed if we knew James was the starter going into it. That's what we have on our hands. - No, we have that Ben Johnson. - Okay. - We're gonna give Faith and Ben Johnson. Case Kingdom, he could spin that thing. He has a little golf and I'm done. He Case Kingdom. Case Kingdom's got a little Jerry golf. - He was dealing in the preseason. - You guys need to watch your mouth. - Thank you. - Okay, Case Kingdom and Jerry golf, are we serious? Yes, Case Kingdom had one good season. Went to the-- - You didn't see him at Houston, brother. When he's at the University of Houston, brother. - No way. - 1995. - Oh, yeah, it was before the Minnesota miracle where Stefan Diggs, oh by the way, in the end zone. Okay, he's got three touchdowns in two weeks from the end, or Stefan Diggs is just in the end zone right now. That is where you can find him. But yeah, Case Kingdom had to sell the pressure. Perfect ball. - There's Stefan Diggs. - 20s have team hands almost a decade ago. - Exactly. The guy knows exactly. He knows everything he's been doing on that. - Jack Erts supposed to be coming back. - Oh. - Case hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since 2024. - See? - It's like Aaron Donald. - Sorry, sorry, sorry, the 2023 season. - That's the problem. - We can't have a long in the '20s-- - He did not throw a pass in the 2024 season, or the 2025 season. - They should just let the bag man pull. - But Aaron Donald did it too, so. - That's not, so-- - It's the protocol, huh? - Like Caleb Pluck. - Who gives a shit? His dad is a champion arm wrestler. You think that? You think he fucking cares? - Concussion. - He cuts me. - Cut his penis off. Cut his leg off and he go out there and-- - I understand that the bag man is tough. He got us from a tough family. - He's got an arm slit. - And he's a point maker. - You don't see that in the NFL. - Yeah, I agree. You see that in college. - Right. - Yeah, you don't see that in the NFL. - At all. - So let him play. - But we would like the best for Tyson agent. We'd like to go on the record saying that. - If it were up to him, he would play with a concussion on the play. - A bad one too. - We don't know that. - I know that. I think he'd be okay if he was coming off the field puke and after every possession, 'cause I had hurt so bad. And he could barely even see out there. The bag man wants to play. - And we would like the bag man to play. - Bad. - But it does appear as if he's probably not going to be playing in the NFL this upcoming Monday night. - Yeah, damn it. All right, let's get out of here. I want to ruin everybody's thoughts. - I'm Ben Johnson just play. He played quarterback in college. He can run his system. - We will announce the Shite Division tomorrow. - Okay. We got wholesale changes to the Shite Division. - And tattoo. - Okay. - What? - Whole. - Hold on there anymore. - Cold to move down. - To be doing. - We went to overtime with the chiefs man. - Yeah, I agree. - So that's the thing. We've actually started to develop promotion and relegation ways for the Shite Division. So we're already kind of developing systems. We don't want to give away what the systems are to pick the Shite Division, 'cause then you could start projecting it before us debuting it tomorrow. But just know. - That might be a good day. - Brand new Shite Division coming out tomorrow. What's that? - I'd like to see people just sending in submitting their Shite Division. - Oh, okay, yeah. Why don't you try to guess what our Shite Division is. - There you go. - It was #programshitedivision. - I like this. - And try to predict what four teams we will be announcing are in our official Shite Division tomorrow. - Question, how are we spelling Shite in this hashtag? - #PROGRUMSHITEDIVIS #ONNoding #PROGRUMSHITEDIVIS ION. If you get it right, you can win something from the ThunderDome. - There you go. - Four teams. - We will debut our brand new Shite Division tomorrow. If you were able to predict it first on X using the hashtag, #programshitedivision, you will win something autographed from the ThunderDome that we are going to be very bummed out about getting out here, very bummed out. Something in here. - Socks, I like that elephant. - Nope. - The elephant really ties the room together. - Elephant will not be given away. That thing's staying. Elephant will be here for a long time. Cuzzy to Buffalo will also remain in the ThunderDome, but I'm sure we could find something around here that we love mightily, that we will sign and give away. Yeah, we should just give away an NFL flag football that we sign. - Well, no, they're all awesome. That's not the same. Maybe one of the four of the brand ones, 'cause these things are kind of invoked right now. - No, there's a lot of other poopy stuff we can give away. - No, no, there's no poopy stuff. We like everything in the team. That's why this is such a big deal. - Yeah, like that subway golf bag. - We, that's the shite key. - We sign that. - We can't give it that away. - Good moment, huh? - We can't give that away. We're using it. - There's a piece of wood on the wall. We can give that away. - No! You know what, watch your mouth. - That's the first ever field goal post? - Yeah, that is the, that is from the first ever football game. That was the upright from the first ever football game, a piece of it at least. And the reason why we know that is company. Somebody sent that to us and wrote in a letter saying what it was. - Yeah, exactly. - That's full of shit. That's a piece of wood they found in the woods. They don't need it anymore. - It's not a piece of dirt. - They sent us in those floating at the lagoon all the time. - No, that is not it, the lagoon. - What are you going to do? - We can sign that if they win this contest. - No, we're keeping the upright from the first ever football game. - Making history. - In the Thunderdome. Now, if you have the first ever upright, we would like to know if this was from the lagoon. - The lagoon is that fit? - Yeah, we would like to know if this is from the lagoon or not. I'm sure there's something in here that we really, really love that we don't want to give up. - Got that sweet subway football. (laughing) - Yeah, the sandwich ball. - That's sweet subway football. - Okay. - Yeah, that'll probably be a part of it. - I think that might Joe Flock goes police. - No, we're not giving those up. - Those are a prototype. - The fuck? - We're not giving us a Wilson ball game. - Listen to him. - Maybe that Yukon Husky's helmet? - No, we're like the candle. - There's a couple of helmets back here. - Maybe this one? - Maybe this one? - I don't think he's helmet. - No, shoes nation helmet? No, that's my favorite helmet. - I didn't say anything from Kenny Chesney away. - I don't even know he had that. - That surfboard's cool. - Nope. - What is that? - Surfboards. - Do you drop it at all? - It's the surfboard stays. - There's a Kenny Wood thing as well. - No, all right, okay. Listen, hashtag. - Oh, no. - We're not doing it. - We're not doing the Hall of Fame helmet. We like that. - Cool. - We have some jam stuff. - Oh yeah, there you go. - Yeah. - A couple of jam balls. - Yeah, we have some jam stuff. We could certainly move from. Yeah, sign those. We're not giving up a plum helmet. Just so everybody knows. Whip you'll five A football. The plum mustangs are a problem. They're gonna run the run that video so I tried not to swear in the middle of that. The plum mustangs problematic. Little Johnny Nondenberg. - Cool. - Come on, I'm Johnny football. This guy, 700 yards or something like that. I think maybe. - He's doing it. - He's on top of the whip. I think he's number one quarterback in Whip you'll. - Touchdowns as well. - I believe he's number one quarterback in Whip you'll. I've literally known John since he was just. - Little Johnny Nonden? - Little Johnny Nonden is number one quarterback. I think in five A football right now, I think. Isn't that absurd to think about? - That's unbelievable. - Yeah, what pound in teams too? I'm very excited about that. I am very excited about the plum mustangs football team. Just being like very good at the football. And we have a quarter. I guess it's an exciting style of football. I think we're running air raid offense. - Hell yeah. - I love it. - The go-go offense? - Love high school footballs the best. - Yeah, it is. I'll say what, it's great in plumbering now. And I'm happy that is the case. We need to keep doing that. We need to get back to a plum mustangs high school football game. I'm sure that'll be feasible with the schedule that we currently have. - Yeah, for sure. - But I'm excited. - You probably watch the quick flight too. - They definitely dream of you guys. - Those are definitely streaming on YouTube. - They are. - Something. - Yeah, game day Saturday morning. They should be streaming them somewhere. - Yeah, I watch my brothers games on YouTube on Friday night. - How's he doing? - They're doing all right. - How do you think they would do against Johnny Nonden in the plum mustangs who have just been absolutely body-ing folks on the football field. - I don't know 'cause I haven't got eyes on Johnny Nonden. - Well, just know he's at the top of the class. He's up, never seen that before. Plum mustang quarterback. Right there at the top of touchdowns and yards. I think yards wise, he has like 30 less attempts than like the person who's above him or whatever, maybe 40 less attempts. - Lot of attempts. - You know the family? - Nondenberg. - Yeah, actually 60 less attempts. - 60 less attempts than the people above him whenever it comes to yards. So like I don't even think he's playing fourth quarters, maybe. And he's-- - God damn. - That doesn't happen for-- I mean, this is a brand new era of plum mustang football. It's really happy. But yeah, his dad was my gym coach, also my volleyball coach. He's also a part of the World of Mustangs here fund where he helps me fill any Edwards and Keith Nondenberg. Coach Nondenberg are the three that are basically voting on where the money goes for the World of Mustangs here fund where we're trying to help plum athletics as much as possible. - I think we're up over two and a half or three million donated back to the athletics department. It's certainly showing our soccer teams unbelievable. I think we have a flag football team that's like unbelievable right now. Football team, this is the best we've been long time. I mean, long, long time. So we are all trying to investing sports in Plum as much as possible. - Is that a football tournament, right? - Yeah, got in brand new judge from Daktronic to work in deals we've heard, but they do phenomenal stuff. Yeah, it's like we're trying to, trying our best to invest in the future athletes in Plum. And I think we're starting to kind of see the fruits of the entire investment and our football team, John Nonenberg, in particular, is at the top. It's crazy though, like, is dad will text me some stuff that's floating around on the internet about these high school quarterbacks, like the way teams, especially in Pittsburgh, like other schools with the way social media is now, like the things that they're doing, the John Nonenberg who's a high school quarterback. - These people need to stay off the internet. - That's what I'm saying. - Everyone needs to stay off. - Gotta love smarter games. - Yeah, but the amount of shit talk that memes now with what they're able to do, like-- - We need to show you that down. - Yeah, John Nonen, well, I don't know if they need to shut the entire internet down, 'cause we're actually pretty, we're on the internet. - Apparently. - Right now, we're currently on the internet, only on the internet, but we need John Nonenberg to not worry about any of that. - It's locking. - We don't need any of Mustang boys to worry about that. We just need to keep going, just keep rolling. And I'll tell you what, Senator Phil Elks wants some. Mustangs will come spin the rock all over that field too, if you'd like us to, AJ. - Where did Terrell prior to do that? I saw this stuff with him. - He had to be on Cleveland. - The greatest high school athlete that there's ever existed. - Jeanette or Jeanette? - Yeah, he was, yeah, Jeanette Jayhawk, yeah. He was, he was the number one quarterback in his class, and then he was also a five star basketball player too. - He was supposed to come to West Virginia, I thought, 'cause we were gonna let him play Hoops, and. - Well, he's gonna be a four year start of Ohio State, but he got a tattoo, so. - Yeah, I can't do that, especially nowadays, the way that's viewed, not good. - Yeah, he was able to just train, what's that, yeah, he was just able to transition right to Wild Receiver, which, yeah. Easy, I guess, that's just easy to do. No problem there. Somebody could add at least. John Nonenberg might be the next big quarterback. - Let's go. - Nice. - Out of Western Pennsylvania. - He's dad, high school pitcher. - Oh, yeah. Oh, Mr. Nonenberg. - Sound of blood. - Is he an underclassman? - Yeah, I think he's a junior. - So he's gonna be asking me for an Idle money to stay at Plum next year. - He's a Plum, he's a Plum, he's a Plum boy. - True and true. - That's why this social media stuff, I don't feel that bad, 'cause these kids are all making money now. - Boy, I don't know how much money John Nonenberg's making. He deserves all of it if he's getting it. Just know John Nonenberg's grandma, Mrs. Nonenberg. (laughing) - Is she like Florida? - South Florida? - Mrs. Nonenberg. - Oh, Mrs. Nonenberg. - No, Mrs. Nonenberg. She was teaching a plum for 30 years. The Nonenberg family has been literally inside of the Plum high school system for 50 years. You think Johnny Nonen after doing what he's doing for the Plum Mustangs is gonna get up and leave. To where's he gonna go, central castle? - I was just gonna say, what if they come calling and say, "So we think you might be the next Danny Moriel." That's the only place they could do it. - It'd be hard to turn that. - I was thinking AQ Shipply might give him some money, go to his high school. - Hey, go in the moon! - You think AQ's giving that? You think the moon comes? - AQ, by the way, AQ is not giving anything, but they do have a big donor over there in Moon. - Oh, beautiful. - You have a facility. - They really, they've built a bunch up over there in Moon. - De Nardo? - AQ's, no, it's not De Nardo or AQ. AQ's reaping the benefits of it though. Moons doing whatever. I don't know if AQ's giving any money at all, but they have full investment in there. So to your point about NIL, it's like, we are a mustangs here for, we're all mustangs here for, we are investing in sports in high school. Now, granted we're not paying the kids directly, we're getting them, you know, stuff. Whether it's new this, new that, brand new this, brand new that. Hey, whatever just entices people to stay with sports. Like, I am, I hope that whenever it's all said and done, is I am somebody who was very, very, very pro youth in sports. Like, very, however we keep people active, however we keep them engaged, however we keep them in sports, 'cause sports is the greatest thing. It's very easy to get lazy right now. E-bikes, these kids aren't even fucking pedaling bikes anymore. I mean, where are we built in leg muscles at? Where are we? Everything else, you can make so much money doing things just not moving literally. You can just sit there and make a bunch of money in these kids. I'll see this and all is so intelligent, and they're so ahead of their time than what we were at the time for what they're available to do. So I just want to keep athletics, fitness, sports, like a real thing for the next generation, really, really want that. I know that's not what's said about when I attend a youth fitness event, where there's a lot of money's happening, and maybe next generation can have their own agro-crag goal and keep that, but I genuinely believe that. I feel like I hate talking about this type of stuff, because it's like a paddle in my back, but I put my money where my mouth is with that entire thing, and I will continue to do that. And the plum mustangs are fucking bowling right now, and I like that a lot. But yeah, we had another year of Johnny Noni, a plum, each shit, Foxy. - Maybe. - It's a breaking news. Further testing today at Revealed Giant's Quarterback Jaxons, dark knee injuries, worse than initially. - Oh, no! - And the team in dark now are facing the possibility of season ending. - He sure is. - So he's been, no more news. - Of all the quarterback injuries suffered in week two, darts just turning out to easily be the most significant. Every time we have read an update on a lot of these guys injuries, it has been like sigh of relief, avoided whatever. This is the first one we've heard, where it's like, hey, this might be season. That knee bent was obviously so unnatural for your need to do. Hyper extension sideways. I think as we all saw it, we didn't think it was Jackson Dart's fault. We didn't think he was reckless. We just think this is something that can happen in football, and it's just terrible timing, as he's getting a knee right to the outside of his knee, as he's floating through air. Love that he walked off. I mean, I guess we'll find out what all the injuries were, the fact that he did walk off. We will say wildly tough, but this is a bummer. This is a bummer coming out of last night. When we thought, springed MCL couple weeks, obviously it sounds like it's a lot more. - Yeah, injuries, sir. We always talk about it. It's gonna happen in just because of the nature of the game, and like damn near all of us, we're on the Giants going into this game. We know how we were on the Rams coming in this season, so that let you know how impressive they were in Harball's debut as the head coach. So just how he came out and played against the Cowboys for this to be what happened so early in the game, and now potentially derailed in this season for Jackson Dart. Sucks for him, you could tell the work he put in this off season to be ready for this moment. Hopefully he bounces back sooner or later. I thought he would avoid the serious damage because it's foot wasn't planted in the ground when he took this shot, but that's absolutely sucks. Hey, Godspeed Jackson and Giants fans. I mean, that is especially with all the hype, and the amount of success you saw early there against Cowboys, like this is a sustainable winning style of football. And we actually had a big takeaway about Jackson Dart might be able to survive this style. Turns out standard dropback, it happens. Dangerous sport. Obviously injuries are inevitable seemingly, and now we lose another massive quarterback from the league. Damn. So now you gotta go trade for someone. Yeah, now it's like, hey, you can't roll with James Holt's season. So this might be an Anthony Richardson conversation. Now you can't, yeah, now it's actually legitimate. Patriots have taught me to veto. Who's been there, but not with hard, but not with hard by, yeah. So the car he should be a real option. Yeah, because Michigan, man, that is in Jim Harbaugh, said what best? Yeah, but he's not very good doing it like Snoop Huntly. Yeah, but he might be good if he's in this system. It's some picking story, right at this point. But I mean, he can't be good. He's not good in the KOC system, but he's gonna be good in this one. Well, I mean, he got record and scatterboot back there. You'd hope he's just, you gotta have a threat to be able to run right for this offense to be able to go, which is why Anthony Richardson feels like a very, very good option there. Maybe Riley Leonard, even if it's not, I mean, Anthony Richardson, I guess is the one who's been on the trade block here allegedly in Indianapolis. But what, we're just handing the ball off in threat of run, and then you gotta build on that as the season goes. Hopefully with Anthony Richardson now, there are some parts of games that are TBD of Anthony Richardson's game that we don't know. We thought he had potentially gotten over the corner of, 'cause he hasn't played a lot of football. He played a preseason game and had no idea blitz was coming right in his face. I mean, it was like maybe the most obvious blitz and he had no idea it was coming, but we had heard stories. Coming to the camp, he's acting perfectly. Bang, separates, finger gets hurt. I don't know where he's gone. It's like, man, he's so close to me. So close, so close, so close, doesn't get the reps. You put him in that offense. He's a big body. He's massively athletic. The upside is still very much there. I think we all became believe ours after we heard with the way he was operating. Since coming back since the freak injury that happened in warmups at the stadium, all he has said, I just wanna get better for the team. I just wanna do this, I wanna do this. I mean, maybe it is. I think Richardson who ends up getting traded out there, or maybe it's a veteran quarterback that John Hardbye has seen before. - Yeah, someone who was in Managhi's system last year, Gardner Minshu. He was, he's what, the back up in Arizona, but Carson Beck played really well. So he assumed they can kind of let go of Gardner, have Carson be that number one back up. And then Minshu already knows the naggy kind of offense and he has that threat where he can move a little. - Similar to A.R., where he can move it, Justin Fields is with the Chiefs right now. So he's kind of probably got the same terminologies that naggy's doing right now. - Has been a starter before. And if they're gonna, he's quite the threat to run. - Yeah, he's fastest guy in the field whenever he's running. And if he just buys into the fact that he is a running quarterback now. - Chiefs ain't letting leave, but my home's. - He was on that formation too. - Yeah, my home's coming, you know, obviously, my home's looking great, but you, you know. - Yeah. - Who's available in this game? - Let's love that more. - You're not gonna be excited about whoever it is. - I think if Anthony Richardson gets traded over there, I think that's-- They were like September, I mean September 26th. at this point so the the pickings are slim. I mean I'm not a Giants fan but I would think they would be more excited like a J.J. McArthur because and like they're they're on opposite ends of the spectrum that's why it's such a crap shooting a league like Anthony Richardson didn't have the experience in college we thought you know maybe he gets playing time to develop all those special traits. J.J. McArthur played a ton of reps in college, played a ton of big games and they still struggle early on in their career at least but maybe you know a fresh start, new system, new weapons, new expectations. Now obviously those lights are very very bright in New York so everybody's gonna talk about you every day so I mean. But expectations right now are hey you just got to the building. I mean that's actually like a when Baker got traded to LA on a Monday and he was playing on Thursday like the expectations where Baker's not gonna have a clue what he does comes out balls that could be a nice little jumpstart for both these games trying to find their way and you know we pointed out some obvious things on this show about Anthony Richardson whenever he was a starting quarterback for an NFL team after being picked four, five, four, pick number four overall. There were some situations where he was growing and developing and maturing right in front of our eyes and doing things that we had never seen before both in a good way and in a like that's not what we're doing around here. I do feel like he has matured mightily. It's like well he find a spot now to play some football and do his thing maybe J.J. though with the hardball connection. Maybe. What if they just fill rivers? I'm trying to get up there. Why not? What's Pavya doing? He's not. I don't know. No, let's not do a brainstorming idea. It's not to a brainstorming idea. Okay, let's get out of here. Remember on X hashtag PRO GRUM SHI T E DI VI S I O N tell us who you think the four teams are. They're going to be an artificial shite division. You can't get promoted. You can certainly get relegated. And if you continue to be shite, you can live in the shite division. Whole sale changes from week one to week two. That's the only tips we will give.
