Pete Hegseth found ALONE and DESPERATE after THIS HAPPENS

- Maga is literally falling apart. It's falling apart before our very eyes. Just this morning, we had multiple people say that Pete Hexest should resign. We have Megan Kelly explaining why this is all falling apart and many prominent Republicans just acknowledging, hey, this things are a wrap. (electronic music) First, here's Megan Kelly explaining why so many people have turned on Trump. - They feel like they gave Trump a year and a half. He's done nothing other than make things worse. This is how they feel if you read the polls. And so, and they're pissed. They're not feeling pro GOP right now for a variety of reasons. They don't tend to like the tariffs. I still am up in mind to them, but I don't speak for the independence, even though I am one. They don't like the war. They don't like what's happening in their bank accounts. And they're starting to think the Democrats might be the better option on the economy. 52% say they prefer Democrats compared to 48% who say they like the Republicans when it comes to who should manage the economy. - And then someone wrote here, how bad is it for Maggie? Megan Kelly can't even put a spin on it. She has to admit it's time to turn to the Democrats to save him. It's actually pretty stunning. We also had just this morning, Pete Hegses, former spokesperson, saying that he should resign. - If I'm Pete Hegses, I would look at what's in the interest of the president and not think about yourself, but think about what is in the interest of the president. - I think Chrissy Nome hung on too long, and finally, he had President Trump had to move her out. I think she would have done him a solid, and so Pete Hegses can do the president a solid by just saying, hey, you don't need more distractions at this point with two years remaining, only two years remaining in your term. - So you believe that Pete Hegses should resign in the interest of the president? - I think that Pete Hegses needs to take a long hard look at what's happened under his tenure for the last year and a half, and conclude that, even though he's got the best of intentions, he's done real damage to the military by dragging the military into these culture wars, and treating the military like his own personal playground in those culture wars. That's something where if you really wanna get rid of, or restore standards and lethality, which I've been doing for 14 years, 15 years longer than Pete Hegses has done, then you wanna do that in a quiet, measured way that doesn't, that's not a polarizing atmosphere the way he's done now, and so, for example, like Bob Gates, who was named by President Bush after the disastrous tenure under Rumsfeld, and they lost the midterms there. Right after the midterms, they replaced him, Bush did with Bob Gates, Bob Gates stayed on with Obama, served for four years and was really low-key, just like Secretary Ratcliffe at CIA. We need somebody who lowers the drama and gets the job done because President Trump, if you're truly loyal to him, we know he deserves better from a defense secretary, just like he deserved better from a DHS secretary, and he's only got a short period of time to enact his reforms. And it's sad that we were at this point, but hey, let's pick it up, let's change it up and get something done along the president's important reforms for the next two years. Now, when John Kennedy was asked about this very same thing, he said that he would vote for him, but he did hedge, he did hedge, and here's that. - As you know, your Republican colleague, Senator Tom Tillis, is calling for Pete Hagueceth to be replaced. Do you still have confidence in Secretary Hagueceth? - Well, it's not my place to have confidence in him. Here's what I see. - Well, you're a secretary. - Doing it, correct. I mean, I mean, Mr. Fisherist, he's consolidating power. That's clear. He seems to be firing some pretty good people, whether they deserve it or not. I don't know. The president, I voted for him. I probably vote for him again until evidence is shown to me that he shouldn't have fired these guys, but I'm not worried about the personalities. I'm worried about two things. We need more bullets, not just for Iran, but for the world. And number two, we need to be partnering up with Ukraine to develop a new way to fight wars. And that begins with drones. And number three, we need to give the military some more money. We're gonna have to probably do it for reconciliation because the Democrats hate Trump so much that they don't want to spend money on the military. And that's the way I see it. You may disagree, but that's what makes life the world go around. - And now, Republicans who are still with Trump have to somehow make this shit sandwich look like gold. And here is Chris Wright trying to explain that gas prices, though they're the highest ever on a Labor Day weekend, it's no big deal. - It is Labor Day weekend. One of the heaviest travel times of the year, the average cost of a gallon of gas this weekend is the highest on record, $4.13. You said on the show five months ago that high gas prices had peaked. But between not just the Iran War, but the Russia-Ukraine War and the US's own dwindling reserves, isn't it possible gas prices could go up even more? - Well, if you look at, I don't wanna have an opinion on that, but if you look at the futures market right now, what can you buy gasoline for two months in advance from where we are today? It's down more than $0.30 a gallon from where it is today. So we are hitting the end of the summer driving season. The Trump administration has changed blending requirements for American refiners, which allows them to produce more gasoline, just as demand for gasoline is about to start heading down. I should point out that New York, Connecticut, California, and several other Democrat government states have decided not to adopt those standards. They apparently want to keep driving up prices on their residents, but that Trump administration is doing everything we can to drive energy prices down as we have since the day we arrived in office. - Respectfully as the energy secretary shouldn't you have an opinion on where gas prices are and where they're going? - Well, gasoline production is about to go up and demand is about to go down. So if I had to guess, they're more likely to go down than go up. - Now, meet the press, literally did a compilation of Chris White and Scott Bessent saying that gas prices would be $3 by now. - Here's what administration officials have been promising voters. Take a look. Are you confident that gas will be back under $3 a gallon by the busy summer travel season, Mr. Secretary? - There's a very good chance that'll be true. I think we can get back to $3, hopefully to maybe by Labor Day. - And Trump voters, they are feeling this. They're feeling this directly. And that's the reason why someone like Megan Kelly feels so emboldened that she could explain why this isn't working because it's not working. And Trump voters are realizing that. Here's this. - I mean, some of those renovations are good to do, but as far as being a top priority, do we really need to focus on a bull and alley in the ballroom, as there are number one priority right now? It could be a lot lower down in the priority list there. A lot of the things he seems like he's doing, he's focusing on trying to make him greater, himself greater instead of the American people, graders. He ran on make America great again, but he's trying to make Donald Trump great again, I think. - Does America feel great again? - I don't think so, not right now. - And let's not forget. Mitch McConnell is going, where's that bitch? It's been 90 days, it's been 90, and one Republican, one Republican, on Fox News of All Places, said that that mother effort needs to resign or step down if he's not coming back from the same state. - Well, from the same state, from the same state, yeah. - I'll say it, if he does not come back in September, he needs to step down, enough of this already. How many months has it been since we've even heard from him directly? I don't want to see proof of life photos from a hospital bed anymore. He needs to get in front of a microphone and prove that he can do this job. And if he can't, he needs to step aside, period. That's it, we got to go. - And just to show how bad it is, one poll says that Donald Trump's disapproval is at 64%. And approval is 36%. But one woman who is running for governor of Texas as a Democrat was asked, if Trump's midterm convention is going to energize the GOP base, and here's what she had to say. - You were running in a state for President Trump won by nearly 14 percentage points. He just announced, as I mentioned, that $10 million investment to boost Republican chances in the Texas Senate race, are you concerned that all of this will, in fact, energize GOP voters in Texas? - No, actually not at all. If you look at the polling, President Trump is underwater. Greg Abbott is underwater. And people are tired of this politics. As usual, people want change in Texas. They're galvanizing, organizing, we're building real momentum in this race. So I welcome the attention on Texas. Texas is battleground in 2026. If you don't believe it, look at what Republicans are doing. But that's what I hear. every day on the campaign trail. - Now what's very smart, and this is how you win, you build a broad coalition. And what I love is that AOC is showing that, hey, if Trump's voters are mad at him, why not reach out and try to see if we can flip some hearts and minds. And here's what she said about that. - I fully welcome Trump voters into our coalition. And I know that sounds crazy to some people, but just hear me out. I cannot tell you, it just happened to me like two weeks ago. I can't tell you how many times someone has pulled me aside and said either I was once a big Trump voter and a Trump supporter, and I watch Fox News every day, but then I started to kind of expand my world and where I got information. And now I've learned, and now I've changed, and I'm with you, and I learn from you. Or people who meet me, who are really big Republicans now, and they are shocked when they meet me, 'cause they're like, you are nothing like I was told you are. And you start to see the dog's turning that maybe everything that they had been told from this one channel or this one ecosystem isn't the whole truth. And it is enough to spark a curiosity that makes people want to go down a longer journey of learning. And you know, that doesn't mean that we sacrifice our values, that doesn't mean that we change who we are. You know, it's like when you welcome someone in, you say, hey, these are the house rules, right? We're not going to give up fighting for people's equal rights and civil rights, but we believe in those civil and economic rights for everybody. And working, fighting for the working class means uniting across difference. And so it starts something that's important. So Donald Trump's truly in disarray, the Republicans are failing before our very eyes. The midterm convention, as I said, we're live streaming. This Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday come hang out, but we're going to see, it's going to be disaster. There's nothing to have fun at. There's nothing for them to boast about at all. He is one of the most unpopular presidents in American history. I look forward to watching it with you and laughing at it, 'cause it's funny as hell. It's going to be funny as hell and stupid.
