Pacers-Thunder Finals Matchup and the Oilers Take Game 1
49m 26s
The podcast begins with the hosts reacting to an Edmonton vs. Florida hockey game going into overtime, which they see as an exciting start to the rematch series. They then transition to major NBA news: the firing of Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau. Opinions are mixed; some argue he was unfairly scapegoated despite leading the team to success, while others point to his heavy player minutes and limited coaching adaptability as reasons for the decision. The discussion suggests the front office may have acted proactively to avoid future stagnation.
The focus then shifts to the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers. Betting analysis dominates, with one host picking the Pacers to win the series at +530 odds, citing their depth, road performance, and coach Rick Carlisle’s experience. Another favors the Thunder to win in five games, highlighting their dominant home record and ability to cover large spreads. Player props are debated, with Chet Holmgren favored for most rebounds over Isaiah Hartenstein due to expected playing time differences. For Game 1, predictions include the Thunder covering a 14.5-point spread and the Pacers winning the race to 10 points, given their fast starts and the Thunder’s potential rust after eight days off. The hosts also expect a high-scoring game, leaning toward the over on the total points line.
[MUSIC] Well, we try to do this after all the major action has transpired. But this Edmonton Florida game has gone to overtime and we took a vote and we're like, you know what? We got too many guys on the East Coast. We have Harry, who knows what coast he's on and we got to do it. We got to power through wallets on in the background, three, three, overtime looking at game one. This is a kind of game we needed, Parley Kent, right? This is what we talked about. We need a few of these from the rematch. It's an electric hockey game. This is what we've been waiting for and hockey. Hopefully the NBA can deliver as well, at least early in the series. But yeah, this has been some game physical skilled. Everything you want to see in a game for sure. Everything we want to see and now we don't care if we don't see it because we're going to podcast. 45 minutes. I got it. We'll take a look. We got it on here. There'll be drifters here as far as attention. Well, I'll get your attention back right now, Parley Kent, because we have to start with the big news that came down Monday, Tuesday, actually, right? Tibs is fired. Yes. Your coach, tibs, thibs. I think that was part of the problem. We can never stop what it was and they were like, that's it. We got to get rid of them. Obviously you, everyone in your family, most nicks fans, I know are bummed out about the decision. So let's hear your initial thoughts. Well, that's, that's interesting because I, I feel like, yeah, I was surprised that so many people supported tibs because I feel like people have been crappin' on them all year long. You know, I don't. So, disappointing to say the least, I do think that now it's, you got to go to the championship game without tibs. If you do, we got to sit and wait now, right? Anything less than going to winning 10 playoff games next year. That's a step backwards now. So whoever comes in has a lot of pressure on them. So I'm sad to see the guy go. He's a basketball lifer. He's dedicated his life to the game. He's bought the nicks back from really low depths. And I feel like you could, you know, some people can question his minutes, maybe too many. But guys seem to have career years under tibs. A lot of guys have their best years under him. I thought he was a very good coach. Well, Brian, what do you think? Like, why did they do this then? I mean, the parlor kids write about all that stuff. They definitely the next one with him where they hadn't before. They got it further than they did. The players seem to like him. I think maybe is that, yeah, maybe we got that wrong. I don't know. Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I mean, I do think they like them. I do think they respect them. I mean, who knows what they're saying after the season? Maybe they are saying like, look, we're a little burnt out where, you know, maybe this other stuff. I mean, it does. The one thing I would say is, you know, I shit on them sometimes. I think he is maybe a little limited compared to like the top couple of coaches. So it sucks to have this success. And then, you know, you beat the Celtics and then you still get fired here. But what I was saying, sounds like on our text is like, I think the front office Leon Rose probably looked at it. And just basically said like the odds are next year we're in like the sit with with Tibito. They probably figured, look, we're in the same exact boat. And then, you know, if the season ends and we get to the same spot or even if we lose around before, now we, you know, we've gone a year, the guys who got a year older, the guys have played like a lot of minutes under tibs again. And, you know, now we have to make a move now. Like, and then it's like we're restarting and they're like, we might as well get a jump on it now. So yeah, I think that and the fact that I mean along the same lines like, all right, so it's one thing if the next don't make the playoffs and he's playing everybody every minute, right? If they're now playing an extra 15 games, Leon Rose, Dolan, they're losing the last year of everybody's contract. These guys are going to be, you know what I mean? They're going to be so spent. And so it was the coaching style, I think. I'm trying to think, I'm trying to figure out where it came from. I think it's a combination of what we're all saying. What are you? What did you think about this? What are they saying in Europe about that? I'm back home with Phoenix. But from what I take from it, I think you got host. I mean, I just think you did. I mean, first he's for Eastern Conference champion championship, game of series in 25 years for the next 25 years ago back to back 51 seasons. And Darren mentioned, yeah, a lot of people complained about the minutes for the starters, but they had no bench. They have no bench. And it wasn't his fault that they went after and got bridges and made five and gave away five draft picks to get bridges who by the way, it's never made any all-star game in his career. I think you got screwed. And I don't see how you don't run this team back one more time with tips in it, especially on it, especially since Boston is going to be without tandem for probably the whole season. So I think you got totally host, but I did say a month ago, though, if you just get fired, they're going to hire Mike Malone and that's who I still say they're going to go after. Well, I don't think you could be probably get too upset if they get Mike Malone there, right? And I don't see that. I mean, it's probably not going to happen if you look at who they're going after. It's Brian, you know, whatever. I think, yeah, I know what Harry's saying. I mean, when Malone was fired, I think, look, you talk about getting host. I mean, if I'm going to complain about tips getting host, I'm alone certainly got host as well. And he's a great coach, but I think they would and my guess is they would think Malone would be more similar to tips. So they would look for more of a maybe a fresher younger voice. You know, right now, the championship, it's got to rig down. Oh, I know there's not many guys out there that do and he would be one of them. And you know, he was he was part of a next staff at one time. I believe somewhere along the line. Maybe his dad was maybe Brent is down along. I mean, you guys beat you guys beat Boston six and pretty much handled him pretty easily, even though he, you know, you know, it's that's like crazy. They didn't handle it. Yeah. They were they were they were beat most of the time. Couple times. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I agree with Darren. No, I don't think Malone is the guy to bring in because if Malone's the guy to bring in, then you might as well stay with tips, right? Yeah. Yeah. Especially the most polarizing next team, I think ever. I mean, between their head coach and people have to figure out if they like towns, if they don't like towns or towns, possibly was the impetus behind tips, leaving, you know, even Brunson as great as he is. There are some next fans of problems with him or whatever. Like he needs to play a little less. So it is this might be the most polarizing team period. Let alone next team, but it is also just about being in New York too. But it's going to be interesting. What goes on there now, the Pacers did move on. Sorry to say, Paul, they're playing OKC tonight. If you're listening to this on Thursday, the Thunder of minus 750 favorite to hoist the championship trophy plus 530. If the Pacers do it, this went down a little bit and I'm hearing some love from the Pacers and I'm about to hear it on this very podcast. Harry, well, you're not fully pulling the trigger on the Pacers, but what kind of cutesy bet they have for us for the series? I'm going to take the Pacers plus two and a half games at plus money at plus 108. For the Pacers, have not lost a spread of plus two and a half games in a in five straight series now. Seems like everybody is just given the heavy favorite Thunder game one of the series. But Indiana still very tough at on the road in the playoffs. There's six and two in the postseason on the road. And Indiana's second in the playoffs and points per game. And first and field goal percentage plus, we all know that these numbers will be hard to continue considering OKC's defense. But the Pacers have a solid bench and a head coach and Rick Carlisle who figured how to beat Miami's big 3rd in James way and Bosch in the finals when he was a coach Dallas. I'm going to give Pacers some credit here. I'm going to take him plus two and a half. So it goes at least six. All right. So Pacers win two games at least. That's what that means there. All right, partly kid. You are pulling the trigger fully on the Pacers, which I know you want to do maybe literally too. But Pacers win the series. My goodness. Plus 530. Wow. It's I know it's a little bit of a wonky pick here. You want to say the next with a second best team. Nine year old me would have said that. Let me root 39 39. Maybe 39. But no, that doesn't have anything to do with that. I think, you know, maybe people are rushing to
quickly to anoint OKC as the champs already. I think the Pacers, you know, we talked just talked about coaching. I think they have one of the games best in Carlisle. I think he'll definitely have his team prepared for OKC. We saw Denver take OKC pretty far, to a full seven games. And as Harry already mentioned, we all know the Pacers are deep. They got a deep bench. They have several different guys, you know, one one game, Siacum's the leading score, another game, Hallebert is the leading score. Sometimes you get good performances from Nice Smith, Nemhard can surprise you with 15 plus points. >> Yeah, Master and Her. >> Mathering's got 20 points, Joyce and Alastairing games. >> I just don't think this is a walkover. I mean, we also have to realize that the one team I thought that could beat OKC was Cleveland. And Cleveland was dismantled by the Pacers. I know Cleveland started off that series hurt, but we can't use injuries as excuses at this time of the year. And they handled them as well as anybody who could handle them. And I'm not saying they're going to handle OKC like that, but in my book, if they could go with Cleveland like that, I'm going to just take this money here and think that they got another good series. And they play like loose and free basketball. They don't seem to be a tense team. They just ball. And there's something about that that I think that might match up pretty well with this OKC team. They make OK sheet tournament to some shooters, make them shoot the three, keep SGA off the free throw line. And maybe I just think it's worth the money here. >> Well probably is because now I'm fully on board with OKC after I don't know how many months everybody else is. And so that's when it'll turn around and the Pacers will give it a series. But I do like OKC and five. And I'm going to do it this way. I normally hate doing it this way, but I like this way though. >> Well, I'm going to pick the game. So Thunder, Thunder, Pacers, Thunder, Thunder, plus 680. And now I looked at this number plus 680. And so how the hell is OKC and five plus 210? But home, home, home, road, home. This is highest plus 680. And then I did some research. I mean, I was like, it's only a couple of ways to get to five, right? One team wouldn't have five. I did some research since 2012. There have been five, four to one results in the finals. And none of them ended up the way I have it. >> Really? >> Isn't that weird? >> I would have thought that would have been the most common way. >> Yeah, right. That's what, the gentleman suite where it's 3-0. And then you get the last just not to lose at home. So they do it and then they went on the road. And I know that Pacers have been excellent on the road. I mean, Magic Johnson laid it out in one of his tweets today. And I was like, you know what, Magic really makes sense. But OKC has been a terror at home. They had the hiccup against Denver, but other than that, flawless in the playoffs, more on that in a minute. And they even get off to slow starts at home during the games, which is right. So I think they hold serve in Oklahoma. And then they split in the Pacers of Split games three and four every playoffs series this year. And this ends up OKC in five SEMVP, which I have a plus two tennis now minus five fifty. So my exact result Thunder, Thunder Pacers, Thunder, Thunder, Pace plus 680. Brie, you're going with. They have player props for the entire series. It's pretty good. Did this just happen? The Panthers? >> No. >> They showing highlights. >> What happened? >> No, I don't think it's over. >> No, no, no. >> No, I'm not. >> I don't know. >> No waylers, I like that. >> No way. >> I'm not. >> I'm not. >> I'm not. >> I'm not. >> I like that. >> I'm not. >> Just to highlight, sir. >> All right. >> Chat most rebounds. >> Yeah. >> I like these. I don't like this one specifically. >> Well, well, we'll talk about it. And I think I know where you would lean towards this one. And I kind of, you know, at first I was like in that too. So I'm going to take chat most rebounds for the series of minus one forty five. It's funny. I wanted to take Hardenstein at plus five hundred. But it's possible, like, you know, you looked at that Timberwell series. And that was a series, you know, they dressed, drastically cut his minutes down and they played much better without him on the floor. So he was only getting like 15 to 20 minutes per game in that series. And I just don't know. The problem is I just don't know in this series if with the pace, the pace, the play, if not that Hardenstein can't play it a faster pace. But I just don't know how much he'll be on the floor. This could be another series where it only gets 15 to 20 minutes. And you know, chat, chat though. He does lead the thunder and rebounding this postseason with 8.6 per game. I think you have to go with one or the other. It's going to be a cheddar Hardenstein because there's really nobody from the Pacers in this conversation in terms of rebound. And those guys on that team get everybody gets like five or six on the Pacers. And then, you know, we saw with the Knicks, right, Towns and Mitchell with their size had some big rebound in game. So I think, you know, again, cheddar Hardenstein would be the place here. Hardenstein certainly is going to get some offensive rebounds. But I just think, you know, in this series, there's a good chance that Chets on the floor for 10 more minutes per game. And on the floor, you mean falling down on the floor? Yeah. And not being the case. Yeah, I think I think you take him here and even even paying the minus one 45. All right. Well, I'll get to what I have in a second, but I did. Maybe that'll be a little bit of a hedge there. But let's get to the game itself. Then we'll do player props. Oh, KC. I haven't checked this in a minute. Is it nine and a half and 231? Is that what it still is? I think that's what it is. I'm saying. All right. Yeah. I'm going to hit the adjusted 14 and a half at plus 162. And I'm focusing on game one and game ones in general. Like I said, they got tripped up the Thunder by Denver at home, but they beat Memphis by 51. They beat Minnesota by 26 in game one. And I think this Indiana team is close to Minnesota than Denver in a lot of regards. And in games, they've won at home in the playoffs. They've outscored their opponent by 223 points. That's an eight game. So that's 28 of games. So I feel confident this one getting out of hand eventually. Like I said, they can start off slow. They have done that. I'm taking adjusted to touchdowns, Thunder by 14 to half plus 162. My minus nine half, you know, rarely yields a win, but I'm going to take a few buckets more. I'll say 122, 104. Paulie Kid, you have the Pacers to win the series. You're going to take them, but the giant, giant number. Yeah. I got to roll with them. And you just talked about the nine and a half, right? That's what this line is said at. Well, you also mentioned a fact that I was going to mention is that we've seen, even though those are some really lopsided score sell, it's been interesting because we've seen games with it. Okay, see has gotten off the slow starts, right? So I think that's an advantage to the Pacers because they seem to get off to fast starts a lot. So maybe, maybe all of a sudden a surprising first quarter lead. And now I'm like, well, now I'm playing with 12 points here. Or, or even more at some point. And we know the Pacers can get hot hit about three or four three pointers in a row. Plus on the same side. So we know Indiana is good on the road. There's no fear of this team playing on the road. They seem to enjoy it. They seem to embrace it. I think Haliburton, and I'll get to him in a moment as well, is going to play against SGA with a chip on his shoulder. And I think he plays better when he plays with a chip on his shoulder, Haliburton. I think in special game one, I think he wants to kind of quiet the critics and show that he's at, you know, almost an equal to the MVP here. So I'll take these points. I think it's a lot of points for a team that I think is going to be hungry to prove the world wrong here. So. All right. How are you going over? I'm staying away from overs in this series. I think for the most part, what are I? I just, some of these games you look up in O.K.C.'s opponent has like nine points in the first quarter. So that's then it's tough to get to 230. But you like the over 230. True. I'm going to go over to 31 though. I think SGA and it's thunder. I have scored 117 points for more than nine times in this postseason. 124, 128 last two games. These two squads are second and third in points per game in the playoffs. Both regular season meetings were high scoring at 234 and 243. And O.K.C scored 120 or more in both. We mentioned Pacers have a solid starting five and a great bench. I just mentioned two a little bit of Benedict hat, Mathering. He could start for a lot of teams. He comes off the bench. He's at 20 points or more to the last three games. A lot of times the game won these series. The favorite wins in a blowout and covers a sprint. But I still think this is going to be entertaining. I think D might be right with the points here. I think this game lasts between 236 and 240. I'm going over. All right. Brie, race to 10. Remember that? You used to be a best friend. You're going with the Pacers to get there first at plus 142. Yes. Race to 10, maybe it's back. Looking, I do, I mean, I like the thunder in this series. But I do think the Pacers just get out of the gate pretty fast in this one. I like, I think race to 10 for the Pacers is plus 142. And this one's pretty good. The Thunder team has been offered for eight days now. You'd have to think they're going to be a little rusty. Indiana, though, has won the race to 10 in all three game ones. They're 5-1 and game ones and twos. And the Thunder lost the race to 10 and game one against Minnesota. They lost it against Denver. Even though they came back and beat the crap at Minnesota and that game one, they still lost the race to 10. So I just think this is a quarter.
where you know again the pay I mean Pacer still had five days off I guess technically too but I think the way the Pacer's play it's gonna take a little bit of time for the Thunder to kind of adjust to their speed probably a first quarter and I'd probably play the Pacer's in the first quarter getting three and a half here but I just think they come out of the gate quickly Pacer's and then you know who knows Thunder might still be the crap at him so have they made it into just a nice number to the to the over on the first quarter over on there with all the team one team had five days off one had eight seven whatever it was yeah I don't know how to change much they must have let's say what would it be what should it be let's see first quarter over on there it's what like 50 way why are they doing this why is it way down here total points 56 and a half yeah that's a lot if one team just puts up a dud like 18 or something yeah it's a lot all right take a look at that as if we don't have enough bets now we're doing game one props here's what Brian and I are talking about I took heart and Stein for the series to lead and rebound to plus 4 it ended up being plus 480 this category is a little weird because out of the remaining players no one is in the top 10 and read but playoff rebounding so like you said homegrown averages 8.4 in the playoffs heart and Stein's second with 7.9 you're right they cut his minutes that's going to be the you know the telltale sign right there sock him down down the list of fewer than six boards again but I'm for game one going heart and Stein eight plus rebounds plus one thirty six he did it against the T wolves he had eight or more against Denver four times he had eight or more against Memphis three times maybe we can roam like Josh Hartle little I know he plays a little more hard at 40 rebounds in six games versus in the end so that's my pick again a nice plus number there heart and Stein eight or more rebounds parley kid you like Halliburton out of a big game yeah I just talked about Halliburton maybe coming out in this game and playing with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder here trying to show the world that he is equal to SGA look he's gone over this in five out of his last seven games here in the playoffs three of those over 30 at 20 plus points at plus one forty eight kind of like the odds there he's a high volume shooter most of the time getting up anywhere from about 15 to 20 shots and if obviously if his three ball is falling he's even much more dangerous and usually when he connects with about three of those he easily goes over to the 20 point mark so let's take Halliburton at plus one forty eight to get 20 or more points there you go all right Harry you have a Caruso player proper yeah I'm gonna go under 11 and a half point and assist combined salad minus one thirty six okay so he really doesn't need much offense out of Caruso they need him to lock down Halliburton and Siacama defense more than anything in this game he hasn't had more than three assists and six games and only had one game versus Minnesota where he scored double digit points when go under 11 and a half points on the cests for at minus one thirty six out all right probably magic numbers 11 and a half you have Ness myth there too yeah I'm gonna take them under under 11 and a half of minus one thirty two you know knee sports had really nice playoffs you know he started out hot too offensively especially in that game one going into that game one against the next there but he's only average nine points for game over his last four and some of that may have to do right he injured himself his ankle midway through that series but also you know the toll it takes on his body right defensively what he has to do in every game right the fact that you know just guarding Brunson how much he has to do there and he's gonna have even a harder assignment in this one guarding SGA especially because the SGA size so I you know and then when you look at the thunder they'll be able to match up with him on the perimeter I think better than the next we're able to I'm giving him some open threes that the next it's all going to say nice and especially in this game one goes under 11 and a half which is pretty high for him all right there you go it's a lot of basketball a lot of basketball talk we will take a break maybe we'll have a hockey update which what you'll already know about because you're listening to this Thursday but take right back we got hockey baseball and French Open Talk Barrett back all right we are back try to sneak in maybe a goal there in that Edmonton Florida game but now it's only four minutes left in the first overtime still tied at three our bets are in though I think from game one Sammy Bennett scored a point actually a goal and then another goal just like I said I would I didn't text you guys and do like Harry like in the first period text you guys like all winner already first period and we don't need for that yeah growing up so they did yeah we're not nine years old as a parlay kid said so that's that brother Brian you won with Edmonton scoring the first goal first minute to you know that first minute yep Brian bragged about that right off the bat all right he's he's nine years old so that's it oh I just said did I did that was quick that's what yeah I just said that was quick I didn't say I don't know I thought you're talking about the Rockies so for media team posting three days over Scott and Shafton Paul like it I thought I saw a shot on goal from McDavid every period I thought I saw one the second but maybe I'm losing my mind yeah that was a tough one I needed a shot on goal in each period for McDavid and had one midway through the first and somehow gets shut out in the second even though the you know the crucial moment for me I thought was with two minutes left they went on a power play and that actually was less than two minutes but in the final minute of that period they put four or five shots on net none of which were McDavid and he was on the ice at the time during the power play and then came right out in the third to like to very quickly and I said to my I texted you guys it how does he go a period without a shot on net it almost seems impossible he's now minus 105 to win the cons might there an overtime I love it I love fandal updating these odds so good. So they wanted to have a score like looking so I told you the other day Bennett Bennett scores here and overtime he gets three tonight. Yeah he's going to from that 30 to one that he was sitting out the other day he's going to jump out big time. He's already 13 so yeah so all right there you go so you guys know the result of this already we will pick game two on cousin south winning weekend as well as game two for the NBA finals let's talk baseball we're also in the middle of this met Stodgers games and meds are holding on three nothing in game three game four tomorrow or Thursday at chives ravine what happened to Yankees parley kid that they they did get shut out. Wow. I don't know I mean they really haven't been hitting the ball. But you know they they they they obviously on Sunday they took care of the Dodgers but just feel like their bats now are haven't been producing this way. Coming up I don't know. Well we'll say they will be okay though so they'll be okay jazz is back in the lineup and helps so he pitching the judge keep pitching to judge. Harry's changing things. He's got yeah yeah. What's going on? I know he did sing a little two first two for four. Four tonight. I mean he does guys pretty incredible. I did I did have a great time Monday took the family to to Dodger stadium to see the meds play they won there in an hour and a half back in an hour only 10 minutes and the lot leaving. Really? Yeah it was great. Well here's what happens here's what happened it was an extra inning game. Yeah and so I get so excited. I mean this is what I think about the whole game. I give the traffic going home and being in the lots of when people are leaving after the eighth inning which they do at Chavez ravine. I'm like counting the cars. I'm like okay there's another all right there's another 500 cars I don't have to deal with that's great. And then at the ninth inning when it's tied people leave and I go all right there's another two people on their way up on the 250 cars. I asked people did you guys drive together or separate because I want to get an accurate count for maniac. Bring the maniacs Harry your best man Jack is a lunatic after these games first of all he's dressed head to toe and met stuff. He's loud the whole game and then also you know it's weird like when you're you're the visiting team you know and you win you look to high five you'll be able to see the fans that are there and you're high five and you look to high five. But when you're when you're there if I'm at like city field in the Met's when everyone's just walking out together whatever it's not like you're not like looking for people. He's high five and Met's fans like yeah that's the way you do it that's how we doing. I'm like all right come on we got a group of people like singing east side west side and Jack is singing with them really loud and it was a man right. My man your man I was thinking I was like I had no one's been killed in like eight months in the parking lot there. So but I was like hey go this is fine walking out but what please once we get to the parking lot we have this 20 minute walk and there's like three lights and we got these drunk guys who want to take a free shot at you but please don't and so he listened for the most part so that was not of your kids become Dodger fans though. I know I know right is just with almost today. I guess it's a six year old. Yeah remember Jackie said some Dodger stuff I think but like how is
I feel like Harrison's at the perfect age. All his friends are talking and all that stuff. Like how you know, they make it hard. They make it hard. This is the one thing. This is why I gave them so many points because this is the one you guys have. Dad, you're all your kids are on you're on four different text chains because they're all your favorite teams. Yeah, I want there's Cowboys Yankees. I don't know how you kept it together like that. I don't. I only have these met. So that's, but yeah, it's a good point. But all right. So yeah, there are three nothing in game three here. I just ever run around the fifth. Edmond to win a power play here. All right. This could be over before the first overtime. Play of the day. Harry, why don't you start us off? You had you do the other day. I want. Okay. You have the Mariners here, right? Yeah. I think the mayor is minus the one and a half at plus one twenty five. I am eight and three in my last 11. So let's go. Mayor is minus one and half Seattle scored the most runs in the American league. Wes and Baltimore has given up the most runs in the A L East. Brian Brian Wu, not found for the Mariners and he's one less run better at home than on the road. ZRA at home is one point seven three. Now Seattle has lost Wu's last two starts. But I'm banking on a blow out of Baltimore considering the Mariners have not lost three straight starts by Wu since July 21st, 2024. That's a span. So of 27 starts. Mariners minus four. All right. Braves, Paulie kid, last minute edition. You had to wait for that to go final ones in. Yeah. And you know, I'm actually also been trying to pay attention to my tigers here. Right. To see if they were to lose back to back games against the white socks. And then I would pound them big tomorrow. But it looks like they might pull this one out at least there. Well, it's coming down now. Looks like the minus one eighty four here to pull this one out in the eighth. But yeah, and I'm looking at the Cubs as well to get shut out by the nationals. But I'll stick with the Braves here. Grand Homes on the Mount for the Braves has been spectacular, but has been solid in almost every single start this year. Gives the Braves a good six solid innings usually to the tune of three or less runs as he's done in four straight games. Less to he's been real good six settings nine strikeout type of performances. He's facing off against a branded fat who Harry is very familiar with out there in Arizona. No, because he's just pitching in Arizona. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was off the night. No, no, no. Yeah. You know, I'm sorry about that again. Yeah, but you know what in his last start, he's coming off an all time staker zero innings eight runs from him in his last start. He's actually been very poor in his last two or three starts. Maybe something's bothering him seems to have lost his groove here. So I'm just betting on the Braves who's waiting to break out. I maybe they're just not going to this year, but I think they get a solid start from homes. They rebound from this poor offensive performance on Wednesday night and they better around fat and they win this game. There you go. Edmonton Oilers win and overtime there. Boy, how much say that must be the day? Boy, second. Yeah. I'm seeing. Your wife is getting so slow. I don't know. I just have the regular. The 30. I don't know who scored who's the one who ruined it dry. So let's go. Harry. Let's do. He was going to I like to see what his odds are right now. 100. Wait. Harry yours was what though? Very close now from four to one. You're just going to follow on tickets for the. Sir. Point. Harry had points in the series, but then he jumped on the MVP too. That's right. He had him forever. This well. Let's go. Harry. Wow. Nice day. Nice big. You know what? Don't Harry for Hagi. No shots on goal tonight. And that was a seven block shot. I look every time. It was the one seven. It wasn't. Well, I think the shots on goal was probably in regulation too. Right? So you probably. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. And came at zero regulation. All right. There you go. So game two. That's good. And this is good. It's all good game. Good Stanley Cup game. All right. Brian, give us a baseball pick. Padres. Jazz. All right. Well, yeah. McDavid got an assist there too. Right? So he has two points. Yeah. What's this? I'm going to do it. I'm going to podcast. Game time. Look, I'm going to take the Padres. Giants under seven. I saw it's funny. So you had sent out the you sent out a tweet to us yesterday, right? With those Giants games, which I had no idea about where they had gone under in 14 or their Giants games had gone under in 14 of the last 15 games. And it actually was 15 of the last 16. And then it's like, I was looking at it. I was like, my God, the Giants just cannot score at all. And this line of it, when I started looking to, I was like, how awful was it? And then actually, it's funny. Tonight, they're down five. Nothing going into like the fifth or sixth. And then they score six run. Then all of a sudden, they score six runs. So scoring six run, actually, this might be a good, a good thing. They're getting some of their runs out here. But yeah, they just have not been all the score. They're the last 16 games prior to this. And Robby raised on the mouth for the Giants. And and raise actually been really good for them. He's kind of back to his like, say young stuff in terms of if you look as numbers, his numbers are really good. His games have been really low scoring. So I would take the under seven runs here. So all right. I'm going an over, not in the same game, but I am going to go Yankees over five and a half runs, Pollock. And that seems like a big number, right? For a team that just got shut out plus one away. But that was not Yankee baseball, what we saw Wednesday night. And I'm not even screwing with the max freed on the mound and taking the Yankees to win or on the run line. I think they're going to hit a slay to Tony. Yeah. On the mound for the Guardians. This is his fourth start coming off of bad one against Angels five earned and four and in the Yankees know how to bounce back. They scored more and versus the Angels. Remember last week and then put up eight the next game against the Dodger. So that's kind of team. They are. They get it together five and a half. Seems like a lot. I think they steal a few early versus Tony and then they get it done at plus money. All right. Let's take a quick break and we'll get you out here. We'll grab back. All right. French open down to the final four women Thursday men on Friday. Sinner a huge favorite over Yokeovich. Well minus four sixty five. Harry, do you think that was going to be that high? I kind of did. Really? The way Sinner has been winning. He's just steamrolling everybody. Yeah. Do you think you're a guy? Sinner? That's my guy. Yeah. Yeah. I just thought it was going to be him and Alker as a final. So your three of yours are all left here. That's pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, Harry's will be gone in a second. But. No. Somebody's will be gone. We want to go. And so let's not what happened. You know, it's funny. We talked about for years right. The women stuff in the upsets. Now it's like nothing. Right. They got it together. I mean, there might be upsets, you know, some of those, some of the women might have upsets. But you know, Saviaka, feel like she's in the most-- You know what? I think they were young every time. Maybe. And now they're just good. Right, right, right. Right. You know, between Coco's, Scott, Scott, and Saviaka. Yeah. Yeah. So, all right. So Sinner's a big fair. By the way, that Yokeovich, that rally there with the serve there. 41, 41 shots. That's amazing. That's awesome. I would have given up. Yeah. I'm like, all right. I don't-- well, I'm going to-- even if I lose this point, I'm going to-- is it worth it to the volume of the point? That's what I think, I guess at some point, you're like, I can't lose this point now because I've put so much effort in. Right. I can't lose it. I can't separate them and us, I guess. Yeah. But that's the only difference. They are the most. That's it. Look, by the huge tennis fan. But I always say this. They are amongst the best conditioned athletes in the world. That's amazing. How they go out and play at this level with the-- And with the sun beating down on them too. The sun, the mental part of it, the physical part of it. Right. Right. And they just grind through it. It's amazing. It's amazing. You think like there'd be a lot more leg injuries with the stop and go for three hours at a time. That's a good point. Everybody gets breaks. Running backs get breaks, right? Baseball players certainly get a ton of breaks. But the baseball-- Yeah, it's constant moving. And also, soccer, especially, Jokovic, set 38 years old. Third, the way he's still can track down balls and rip them cross courts. It's amazing. Very hard. Yeah. How much did you lose on the women's side since you texted everybody and told them to take that one? Whatever, whatever big deep. So I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He kept texting everybody individually to text to take-- Zwang. Zwang. Yeah, why didn't text me? That's good. All right. Yeah. He was up to nothing in the tie-perfect in the first set and then blew him and then they lost it. But Musetti, me and Darren got money on Musetti, right? All right. So you have Musetti now. This was a big guy. No, we parlate. You told me to parlate them, Harry. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you did. Did I? Pretty sure. We didn't bet it straight. We bet it straight. Oh, it's a fit. I said the money each. You guys figured this out. I'm like, maybe on a text or something. But right now, let's figure out, Harry, what do you have? 44-to-1 on Musetti. He's a minus. Yes.
30. He's still 20. He's still 20. He's 25 to 1 right now. He's bragging about this guy. We got texted like five in the morning about it. Well, this was it. There's, I mean, you can't hedge, right? This was it. You needed for this bet to make sense. Yeah. For it to make sense, he had to either beat Alcarez or Alcarez had to get picked off before this round. Okay. So otherwise, this is just like what this is where he's been. He's been on want. I think it's five times he's beaten him once. I'll I'll recheck that because I think I know four to one Alcarez. I gave this out on a on a tape show to the ringer. Yeah. Double check. Anyway, minus 720. You'll be should be able to hedge if it's if it's good enough. Bad Cocoa Golf minus 480 to advance to the ladies finals in Sabel like a slight favorite over last year's winner. It's via tech. So that's good. So you have Sabel like a plus one 45 in the women's side Alcarez minus 125 on the men's. It's getting good. I usually remail cousin sal against all odds of Gmail dot com at this point, but I we got a good text. I'm sorry, a tweet reply here. What did I do? I posted, okay, this eagle scoring special and there was a had us all talking and harries in the frame and everything. And somebody's guy named Subir right when did the Rock Dude from Fantastic Four join the show. My goodness, he writes, which is something you would say. And do you are you familiar with this character rock from Fantastic Four Harry? Girl. It's the thing, right? The thing is it the thing. I was going to call the thing. Yeah, okay. But he's made his own head. He's all made out of rocks. I mean, yeah, that's not a handsome comparison. You understand? No, no. The head, the head, Michael Chick is quite a man. One of the people is right. One of the Fantastic Four movies. People have told me I look like Michael Chickens. People told me, yeah, that's fine. But the thing, the thing is got a lot going on Harry and none of it. Good. We might be the Fantastic Four, but we're not the thing. The Fantastic Four is nothing. Michael Chickens. All right. Michael Chickens. Michael Chickens. I won't say what I would say. Go and hang out with this one guy. I don't hang out with any more. We're going out trying to meet women. We were, he would introduce women to, in me to women. So Michael Chickens is stunt double. Wow. Never. Never. Never. It didn't. I don't know. Like a stunt triple. Yeah. Yeah. That's relax. The double part works, but all right. Part 20 just sitting on another girl's ever known who Michael Chickens was. Anyway, yeah, it's part of the parts in the show when you're just sitting around. I'm looking at this video. You look especially like the thing here in this one that really comes out. I'm like, God damn it. What are you going to do? Can you grow a new hand or something? I don't know. No, I don't know. I don't know what you could do. All right. There you go. Thank you, severe. This is what we could do about severe, but good observation. Good. All right. What do we have? We're cutting sales a wedding weekend with sugar. Sean O'Malley. That's Friday morning on Fandall TV and right here on the Ringer podcast network. We're going to pick the UFC card. It's a good one. It's a good one. I think we're all over the place with these fights. It's like three or four good ones, Parley Kid, right? Stop at it. So this is solid card. Solid card. Looking forward to it. Is it a new Newark or something? Yeah. New York. It is. Okay. All right. That'll be a foam of bride. Did you catch what Edmonton was down three one? I didn't. I didn't. I mean, my guess. That's all looking for these. Well, yeah. I mean, my guess is, I mean, that was still second. That was probably, it was probably what nah, probably was only plus two. Two eight years on. All right. And that's all right. Well, we'll do a game two Stanley Cup game two NBA finals. That's all cousin sales. One weekend Friday morning. Like I said, that does it for another episode of against all odds for Mikey Meepalls and the D3. I'm sourcing so long and handy hat. Happy handycapping. Oh.
FAQs
The Knicks fired Thibodeau after a successful season because the front office likely felt the team had reached its ceiling under him and wanted to get a jump on finding a new coach before next season.
Opinions are mixed; some feel he was unfairly scapegoated despite improving the team, while others think his coaching style limited the team and that a fresh voice was needed.
Mike Malone is mentioned as a possible candidate, though some argue he is too similar to Thibodeau and the team might prefer a younger, fresher voice.
One panelist picks the Pacers to win the series at plus money, citing their deep bench and strong road play, while another favors the Thunder to win in five games.
Harry suggests taking the Pacers plus 2.5 games at plus 108, noting they have covered that spread in five straight series and are strong on the road.
The panel leans toward Chet Holmgren for most rebounds, as he plays more minutes and leads the Thunder in postseason rebounding, despite Hartenstein's potential.
