Give us the background on how that nickname came about. So there's a couple of super fans who'd call them. And I remember getting a message on Twitter by this random guy one night. He said, "My sir, are you calling the racists tonight at May done?" Yes I am. He said, "You must watch the broadcast." So anyway, I've not figured out what's going on. But anyway, they come across. They do a segment on the night called. Essentially they go out and it's like a. If someone gets the camera man suggests someone, they win 500 dirum for the night. It's a segment they run every week. They do sort of a few through the night just to keep people entertained. And yeah, that the camera was panning through people. And he comes his random bloke. And he's got a t-shirt made up with some photo of me from calling in Singapore with voice of the heart, Pat Kymnerford written on the t-shirt. And that was when I knew I made it. That's so good. I also needed an escort back to my car or a reckon after May done. I was a bit concerned. But anyway, it's. I mean, racing at the UAE is a massive thing. There's no gambling. It's amazing when obviously there's such an emphasis on punting and that in Australia. And it is not the main drawing factor, but it is a big thing as to why a lot of people follow racing is because they can also have a bet. Whereas in the UAE, it's not as big of a thing. Whether it goes on behind closed doors, you're not really sure. But it's not the main reason why people go to the races. So a lot of these people go that they're every meeting. So they just love the racing. And they love all these big horses coming there and they're big supporters. So it's great to see. So obviously you were our first guest going back four years ago. Now if people want to go and listen to that episode, they can. It's still findable. I think it was episode nine we did together. Episode 10. What do we get now? Oh, very nice. We've stopped counting. I think a few of our episodes. Sorry, sorry to put you on the spot. A few of our episodes got deleted because you were using copyright music. This, that, and the rest. But tell us a bit about how you got over to the UAE because obviously you were calling pretty moderate horses at one stage here in Australia to go from that. And now you call on the likes of Ombudsman, Kaland again, Remantic Warrior. The best horses in the world. How did that opportunity arise? Yeah, look, I mean, it's amazing to think that it has eventuated the way that it has. I mean, I went to Alice Springs to work as a radio presenter and the commentator left there. So I picked up the job with sort of no practice and sort of learned on the job, which was lovely. But was able to pick up a job in New Zealand. I spent a couple of years there. And fortunately enough when Nick Child decided to make his way to Hong Kong, there was a vacancy in Singapore. So I was able to apply for that role and receive that. So that was my first opportunity to really call, I guess, on the international stage, group races as well, even though they are domestic group races only. I think the Crown G mile at that point was an international group three because they may have had one of the Hong Kong horses come over and raided at one point. So it was an international group three. But nevertheless, Singapore was nothing to, to slouch out. It's been an amazing jurisdiction for a long time. And obviously the job in Dubai came about because the Singapore turf club, they decided the government decided that they were going to close it down. So a very sad day. But there was a closure there and a date where my calling and my ability to be employed as a race caller was going to end. And when the job came up in Dubai, and I received that, I was able to go over and do that. So to go from Alice Springs to Dubai in seven years it's been quite a rapid incline. But I think a mix of luck and hard work has played a big factor in it. And I think it's very fortunate that I'm in Dubai. The fact that these great horses just come to you is an amazing thing. And you get to call some of the best horses in the world if not the best horses in the world. And I pinch myself every day that I've got the job. Before we get into a very funny story, what is probably your favourite call so far over there and maybe the best horse you've called? That's a tough one. I mean, I loved the race of calling romantic warrior to win. Unfortunately, with measured time going a mess, it was probably a race that was a bit tainted as a result of it. And then I think the Dubai turf, that following year, obviously. I think romantic getting to call romantic warrior has probably been the pinnacle for me. Every caller is different. I'm sure if you spoke to a European commentator that was in that same thing, they would tell you that Ombudsman and Klan again every day of the week would be there. Would be there bread and butter. If you spoke to an American commentator, they'd tell you that a calling a Dubai World Cup and the main dirt horses in the world would be there. They're cream of the crop. But I think being from this part of the world and the love and emphasis we have on Hong Kong horses and how good they are when a really good one comes to you. I think I've just had such a soft spot for romantic warrior for a long time. I've went to see him and he got beat in the Champions and chaed a cup by Roman Emperor. Russian Emperor. Russian Emperor. And then to think that two years later I'd be calling him and unfortunately calling him getting beat in a Dubai World Cup. Only just. I'd bring back some PTSD memories there for you. You fell as there. But yeah, look, I mean, at the end of the day, just a call a horse of his quality and to see, especially in that Jeboharder, to see his expertise and just the way he goes about business from the best seat in the house. It's crazy to think that you get that luxury to do that and be paid to do that job as well. But yeah, going back to my fourth season this year and a couple of months. And yeah, I thank myself every day. I thank my lucky stars every day that I've got this job and long that continue. That's so good. Yeah, that's so good. Jeboharder. Before we move on to the next segment, a funny story that you wanted to share for us. And Pona's posted an article about this event. It was bizarre scenes in UAE as race meeting called off and they sort of quite tweeted one of your tweets that night. Tell us about what happened, what led to this race meeting being abandoned and a certain horse that you had as your best bet not being able to race. Well, so we do our selections before prices come up because the bookmakers usually come up for most of the races about an hour before. So we don't really know what the races are going to be for people who are tuning in overseas, what those prices are going to be. I'm convinced that they've been able to do that. Mr. Zero on this, they miss, sorry, they added a zero. I reckon this horse, I tip this horse called Marjdy and it just, it was coming back to a maid and it just should have been, it just should have been an absolute no-brainer that this horse was going to win. It opens up 100 to one. Now this 100 to one got snapped up. We post our tips the morning of the, this tip got snaffled up, well the price got snaffled up I should say. By the time the jump came around, it was 100 to one into $3 or something along those lines. We get to the races, and as far as the stewards report reads as well, there was no medical staff on board to basically be able to go around with the jockeys to attend to any medical incidents if they occurred. As there was no doctor present, they had to postpone the meeting until they found a doctor. So we're an hour late to starting. We get to race one, a doctor has arrived after an hour. No idea where they've pulled this doctor from, but he's are there. We go two races in, mind you this horse is running in race three. So we get two races in. We are waiting for this, you know, this 100 to one shot that I've tipped up as a best bet of the day. And I remember the stewards saying to me, they were like, "Geez, you'll never hear the end of it from people overseas if this doesn't win 'cause it was just off the map." Anyway, eventually the doctor goes around for those two races and coming to the third race, the runners are sent out to the gates and the doctor goes missing. So whether they don't know what's happened, but look, maybe the medical staff didn't think that he was potentially qualified to be doing what he was doing or whatever, he's done the runner, he's done the Harry Holt and got out of our lane race course. So the runners are left at the gates and there's no medical staff can't find them. So the meeting is abandoned. - Runners go back and in the hall. - And all these people who have snuffled up the 101 and whatever was left of it have had their funds returned and I'm sure there was plenty of bookmakers in Australia who were very, very happy that that was the case because I'm sure the exposure for an lane meeting on a Thursday would have been a little bit worse for wear and I think there would have been a few emails Friday morning. - Make a boy. - There it is. It was 101. - Yeah, well. - And you know, out of the horses that are going the extra galactic. - I don't think it's going. - And it's not, well, what's going on in the moia? - No, it's not, what's, what's, what's, I'll find it on Monday when I speak to my mate as you can share it, but I believe it's not going. We just need horses to actually go to the race. It's a, so, you know, anyway. What else was good? But tell me about ratings quickly. A horse like Yuki, who runs second in that race to cavalry girl, even though cavalry girls come out and run that rating. You saw how unfortunately a Porsche went today here at Bendigo and I was a heavy track. But does that affect her rating at all? Are you only going off that last start? Or does that deteriorate the form a little bit in more fulfilled? The fact that she did go as Porsche did today, even with the favorite scratch at the gate? - No, I mean, like even if a horse comes out after the race and, you know, does, goes better or worse, that doesn't necessarily mean that. You know, you can measure these things with time and margins and we've got lots of historical data points to go off. So, you know, you can get a reasonably good idea. And whether it might not be perfect or not, I don't think Yuki, Yuki would be in four four lengths there at Moffaville. So, you know, the time was really, really fast. And, you know, cavalry girl came out there and one by one four lengths to get on Saturday. So, yeah, I mean, she's, I think she's going on to really, really good things, cavalry girl and she should be in the moire, but that's their decision. - Anything else to say? Or moving on to Ninja and quick chat about him? - What else, one? I don't know. - First chorus, just keeps winning. She's backing up again this week. - Yeah, she's won five races this preparation. She's run pretty much the exact same number to win five times. She comes back to a mile this time, but she does get a heavy track again. So, she's going to be hard to beat. You'd think, you know, she'll map positively and all those sorts of good things that have aided her to win five races this campaign, but, you know, I'm against this weekend, but we'll get to that race very shortly. And changing colors put down another good performance as well, rating wasn't quite as good as Flemington. - Well, that's all circumstantial though, because she's, she was in a very-- - What's her finding it? - Yeah. - I was going to say, "Cute-os" for that tweet that you put up about the irony of it changing colors and all of us are going to go. - That goes out very good. - Yep. - Impression. - She said all of 50 when we did the Puck-os. - The power was in the star of David. - So that was all-- - Who would've thought 60? - Let's not get involved in that. A horse he'd already beaten before, going back to last prep. The thing about Ninja at Niko is that he can put himself up on the speed and that's something we know that Angel Capital can't do. - You know what they say? Quick Victorian racing awards news. Craig Williams won a six scobly, breezly medal scoby breezly. So wild onto Willow. He won his first one in 2006, 20 years ago. So he's won his six one this year. Special shout out to Jamie Motte who finished second. A guy who walks around natural weight, probably mid 60 kilos, even 70 kilos, if he wasn't sort of wasting and he rides at 56, 57 kilos regularly. And it's a very hard gig to be keeping up with a guy like Willow. Nico, some other news that you wanna share. Bell Echo, the best three-year-old in the world is retiring. - Unfortunately. What do you reckon? Do you reckon he clipped his tone out and they said, "We've got to ship him off "to start very quickly?" - Probably a little bit more serious than that I would have thought, but anyway. - It's an interesting one as well, considering that he is, he's owned by the, you know, the essentially the estate of Shaker Bay. Who, as we know, has had many great horses, including DeBarrwy, but I think the big factor is, and whether it has anything to do with it or not, I'm not too aware, but those horses after a couple, I think they said they were gonna run for 12 months, 18 months, but eventually those horses are going to have to be, and that estate is gonna have to be liquidated accordingly. So whether or not that has had a effect in, you know, whether or not, where does Bell Echo go? Who does Bell Echo be bought by? Is it just easier to pull the trigger on a horse than they are like now, who has so much stud potential to go and basically just go to stud now? It might be the best course of action, but that estate, unfortunately, with Shaker Bay passing about six to seven months ago, is going to be liquidated in six to 12 months. So whether that had a bit to do with it or not, who knows, but that is definitely something that was on the horizon for all those horses. Well, it's good that it's gonna be happy to see the back of him, that's for sure. Well, Lisa, they got to see that without a fight, do the cap-stowler a couple of years ago before he passed, but I'm sure something has happened to Bell Echo, but you just get the feeling they would have been gone over him with a fine tooth comb. And organized crime, the horse, the thoroughbred has got through and it's running on Saturday. He's actually going really good at organized crime dog. And I just thought at five to one and potentially, you know, slightly better than, you know, as we said, $2 on a coffee, the place, it could be one that, you know, that's running around the top three. And second and third is a good one by Betfort. One by four bet here because the likelihood of him winning is, is very slim but you're getting a very good price and I suggest you use your 25% winnings bet boost on the place. On the place. It's an interesting one because you've got closer to free. He's drawn the outside in nine. He wants to go forward hard kick and him probably set up the speed. But the the win of Myro's Ruler although he is coming out of a maiden at a chukar. Gee, it was impressive and it was a very high rating race as well. Well, I don't know if I like the race. It's it follows the theme of the day where everything's a little bit confusing and I don't really have any solid thoughts at this point. Yeah, I don't know. I think that Myro's Ruler, you know, it was it was a short enough SP on day boo at Corefield. Well beaten. Shinsor put out for a spell and returns it at a chukar. Starts on a win by wins by six. Ran fast time. Bed race slowed down there as well. I think it could have won by a tan if they get pulled pull the pressure on through the eight to the four. Look, I you know, the the benchmark of the the standard set by the you know, the blue diamond Colts and Phillies is a particularly high. Closer to free I can see is certainly the favorite. You know, the one the the blue diamond pretty on day boo. Not many horses do that run second in the blue diamond itself and then yes for reminding me. Yeah, and then it was well supported in the the golden slipper. Two under the one. Fucking hell. Yeah, I look I think I think it deserves favorite, but I just I just think the gap between those it might my rose rule is a progressive one that I don't think the benchmarks very high. I don't know if Corfield is going to suit him. He's got a big extravagant action. He might be more of a flimmington sort of horse, but I do like the price. Close to free probably the other one I just want to say on he's very hard to knock. I've loved his jump out coming into this and he just looks to bomb proof one is going to sit on speed. Hard kick and no doubt improve a flash start, but he has to. He's a very keen going horse and Frost is going to have to be at his best to get him to to run somewhere near his best. I'd love to see closer to free in an Al cause sprint next year. Now I know that's a big call, but I mean a lot of Southern hemisphere horses. They have a great two year old season. He just got plagued by bad gates. That gate at Gold Coast unfortunately brought him undone. He can't go there this type of year this year because as a Southern hemisphere three year old he gets a horrible penalty as he's six months older, but as a four year old he could go there and go quite well. I reckon he's got the right I guess the right race shape to run a strong straight six at May dawn. He funnily enough obviously when when Ballastier in Darwin was being touted as you know a dirt horse that was going to make his way to Dubai and do that. Unfortunately got 54 kilos but he also got the way to the country as well when that got touted because you know he was you know all the all the expectations for there for him to just go out and blow them away in the palmest and sprint, but I was looking around or saying well if Buckley's going to send a horse to Dubai what's he going to take it with? This is the horse I think that probably fits the mold for you know we can't beat Europeans probably fair and square over the middle distances and staying races, but if you're going to take a turf horse you're going to get a horse that's fast and can run over a sprint trip. So I'd like to see him have a good preparation this year because he probably looks like that barricade, not barricade, the what was the Bennett racing horse that went there a couple of seasons ago running the other astrologist? He probably strikes me as that sort of that sort of racing style where he could he could go and run a pretty strong campaign there if they if they were to go, but yeah I want to I don't know about this race but I want to see him run I want to see him him have a good campaign and kick off well. Hopefully he comes back well Nick, how did you have any thoughts on this race? She's still got a lot to prove But I think that you know when they only come over unless they're really really confident this horse is gonna make its presence felt and The versatility on surfaces for a horse as young as she is is gonna see her run really well this spring So I just think at that price she if she comes out and bolts in you're not gonna get five to one ever again No this whole spring. It's me very different to the PBLIrants the private eye one last year, which was essentially just a sit and sprint Where the private eye just sort of went to the front and run off their fate of the last 400 meters. So completely different um And all the main chances will be sort of fall of midfield and then cosmic crusader the the favorite will be just sort of stalking off Themself. He's good enough. I think he gets every chance to beat them Is he a bet though is is is the is the question and I couldn't I couldn't You know, I don't think he's a 250 chance. I think he's you know, there's some very good horses here. We're talking evaporate for rocha Private eye who were you know Those horses like a stab list to group one level and you know, he's rising through the grades Had the run which is obviously a positive but I just I just couldn't force you I think you're forcing it if you're making him a bet at $2.50 But I do consider that he's going to get every single possible chance to do so um the bet that I've well, I mean uh It's a tricky race, but I was talking to Trent Kreben who works at racing and sport early today He pointed out to me which was a very good point that for rocha is Is at his absolute best when the the races are run in fast overall time, you know You look at the heaven and first up last time Outcore filled over this you know course and distance and the Rupert Clark where it was very good Those are races running fast time. We're expecting a good pace here And I think you know at his absolute best. He might be not as consistent as a vaporade, but at his absolute best, he's almost a match for him, I'd say. So he's a little bit inconsistent. Even the way he races, you can just see that he's a big stride in horse, that he's best in these fast races, high pressure, and this is what it's going to be. I bet a 650 chance, and I think he's a value at that whatever price he's with our best. No, I'm not all at 365. Yeah, that's a good price, I think, worth having. Yeah. I would have loved bet for Ocha. I think he was $15 all in or even $21 at one stage. I probably would have had something small in him at that price, but I'm with the favourite Cosmic Crusader. I think he is around a $2.50 chance. He was awesome winning first up over 1200 metres. Look, I didn't think he'd sprint that well, fresh in the bletchingly, but he was utterly dominant. I think the rating on forking probably under sales the performance slightly around the 98 range. I think he will easily go past the 100 mark on Saturday. I just don't think some of these horses are well equipped to deal with what could be a soft seven track, a good tempo first up, and he's just got all the ticks in his favour with that run under the belt. Rising to 1400 metres, I think he'll be a little bit too good for them. And Niko, I was happy to take $2.50. Yeah, I thought $2.50 was a very fair price. I thought he was probably going to open up near enough to that even money, sort of quote. So, yeah, I managed to snap up a little bit of $3 earlier. Boosted with our friends? Yeah, boosted with our friends. That was good. Just had a little slice of that with my coffee. And, yeah, I think that's a great price because I can sort of pick holes in private eye, evaporate. Yeah, for OJ, he's honest, but this is this a race that Cosmic Crusader should come and win. I thought that he would be overbett and sort of around that even money mark after his dominant display first up last time. But I think around that $2.50, quote, that he currently is. I think that's pretty fair. In a race like this. So, yeah, I'm more than happy to be with. It's only an adabonus that Paki is on. He's never ridden him. No. But. That's remarkable. Nothing, nothing against Stucky, but yeah, Paki is retained right for Peter's investments. So, it's not overly surprising to see him come over here. And, yeah, you know, yeah, I think it's just the race that he should win. So, $2.50 is a good price. That shocked me looking at the stats and seeing that Paki first time on the P. CJP is always the way he was retained right up. Yeah, I just thought he would have had at least one sitting on it. Paki and Bob made up again. Yeah. Pat, what are you reckon, mate? I think he's, I think he's a decent price, but, yeah, nothing strong enough for me to step in. I still think he'll be the best horse in the race. And I still think he's the horse that will come out and win it. But, I couldn't personally find any value there. So, it's a no bit race for me. Happy to move on. All right, let's go to race number eight. And this is $5.50 of the field. The listed reguarola stakes. He was the dubbed, the king of core field reguarola. Do you remember, is he still in your sort of time? Reguarola. Just maybe just before he's before. Yeah, probably just before, probably just before. I mean, I probably got into racing a little bit later than most. Yeah. I was definitely someone who went to the races, but I was never as, you know, a heavy follower of it. Yeah. The one that reminds me of a something reguarola, there was one back in the day. Obviously, a well before my time, but was holy roller. Have you ever heard of holy roller? So the hawks is had him. He used to wear the same colors as like, you know, the all pink colors. Lon Sirice. Yeah. The John Hawks colors. Yeah. The Hawks. John Hawks had him. Inham colors. He was the biggest horse of all time. Actually, had to put the old fans of racing who followed who listened to this podcast, wouldn't remember holy roller. I've only ever seen photos of him, but they actually had to extend the barriers widthwise and give him like a barrier and a half because he was so big. He was a group three winner or something, but he was, he weighed. He weighed 700. Yeah, there you go. He was he was 758 hundred kilos. Like, he was for my horse. Have a look at that. Jesus. Recon eight dollars 50 and Arkansas kid getting out to nine dollars. But I think you you like it. Top weight here. He always runs well. He doesn't win too often. I'll tell you this. I literally when I was doing the form today, I am usually just a staunch win punter. And I found free today where I'm like, you know, what that plays value is actually not too bad. Arkansas kid, I think top three, you know, nearly three dollars. That's that's a really really good value. If you were doing sort of same race multies or whatever it is, he'd be a great one to add in. I think at the weights, Asakura has got to be given respect whether whether Asakura performs just as well when he gets his toe into the ground. That's what I want to know. But I've got a few friends in the horse. They own a good chunk of him. So I hopefully runs well for them. And yeah, even though the horse has been off the boil a little bit, I think probably different targets later on in the preparation for it. But I just love seeing McGorwin. I think he's one of the great great horses and Emily and David Brown, great people as well. So, you know, always good to see them have success. So yeah, I sort of went in the way of Arkansas kid and Asakura being the value each way in these in these two races. That was the way I saw them. There's an ice horse, Niko. It is Asakura. He's probably aiming up at maybe a Rupert Clark to our candy cap. Yep. Yeah, I'm really keen to be in his corner on the weekend. I think the booking of William Park is phenomenal. I was really really happy to see that. Parkie kept out and very close to his chest. He didn't say anything when he was on radio with with Milo the other week. So yeah, the booking of him is significant in a race like this. I think I think he's a little bit disrespected in the market at double figures. It's turned to one at the moment. He's all he's form is absolutely impeccable. I think there was no issues with the ground being a son of Churchill. They usually love their toe in the ground and I think he'll he'll be no different. So yeah, he gets a good barrier and barrier too. He'll be in a good spot. Yeah, when you look back at his form, he's the progressive horse that's probably got a few years left in place where he's running against a few here that are only going to battle in this grade or are probably looking for something to touch easier. So yeah, I think he's a great bet. Whether he's completely screwed down to win first up, but he's a very exciting horse moving forward this preparation and it turned to one. You don't have to have much on and I think he'll give you a good shot. So yeah, one by three play for me on him and yeah, I like it. Yeah, he's probably still got to iron out a couple things and really build into his racing craft and he'll get that with maturity over time, but no doubt he's a group on horse of the future. Handy cap are at least. Will, what did you think? I was a terrible race. I hated Arkansas kids first up run, but what do you think he was just giving every chance up on speed? Every single chance. If he was good enough, he'd win it. The market didn't like him at all. He was so easy to back just very plain. Whoops, but that's just him. Yeah, no, that's not true. He's a good horse, but that's not it. That's not true. He has to be maybe even thought of a bet at the price of years and I recon as well was heavily held up in the good wood and won the the hurry. I don't know. Not a shot of R is equal favourite and I couldn't even tell you who it beat last time. Power bow. Who is power bow? I don't know, but it rated well. Sometimes these are these are laid figures though. Yeah, I mean, I don't see how it can be fair. I think it's it'll be a drifter on the day. Take away Persian spirits when we'll be next year. Where? Shadow of R was just way too good for Arkansas kid when they met in Adelaide, but I think Arkansas kid might have been coming to the end of it and he had had a very big weight there. He meets him slightly better, but this is probably not a race I want to get to involved in. It baffles me how some of these horses look like they're just going to progress through the grades. Keep on going and they get to this grade and then they stop. Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense. Yeah. Race 9, benchmark 116-hundred meters in first chorus. Well, it just seems like she just keeps running and running and running. She's here again, she's going for four straights. She's on the seven day backup, $3.80 from Dark Bonny, $4.60, Light Infantry Man $5.50. He's the class runner, he's on return. He's a jewel Australian cup winner if you don't mind. Electric Impulse, $8.50, and lovely cut. He's also on the backup at nine dollars. Pat, I'll give you the mic first here. You like two horses who really love getting their toe into the track. - Yeah, I mean, first chorus is the, the horses got the winning form on the board. So with the claim here from Luke Carrot, again, it's probably going to see her ride in the mix. I think she's probably right about her price. I don't know if you guys agree with me there, but I definitely thought the value in the race. As you said, you want horses. If it is one of those days a core field, where you want horses that are putting themselves into the race and are going to be up there and giving horses a bit of a challenge, you can't say that the just folk on his last two runs is not shown that he should be up in the mix at the turn and be kicking on and giving a kick late and be trying to fight them off. The fact that he's 11 to one or around abouts and you're getting better than two to one the place, he probably looks the value in the race. So I didn't like the race too much, but if I was going to do something and sort of play two horses small on a sort of Dutch basis, maybe they'd go just folk and first chorus is my two. But yeah, look at another sort of tough race to decipher. - There you go, bot somebody who still uses fractional odds as well. (laughing) I like first chorus here. $3.80, better than $4.00, the bet boost. I think he is a good enough price to just trust a mayor who is in career best form who just keeps putting down the same rating. She was awesome winning the Travis Harrison Cup last week. She probably was just running out of tickets late at 18-undermeters, detonator, Jack was starting to come at her, but she circled the field, she did it comfortably, she comes back to a mile here, which I think is even more upper alley. And her soft track form is just about some of the best soft track form in the country. So for 13 starts on soft or heavy tracks, she's had seven wins and two and three second placings. So her strike rate on soft or heavy ground, just far exceeds anything she's done on good ground and they almost exclusively only run her on the soft tracks now. So after getting through that foot abs, she had midway through the prep, she's just been brilliant in the last couple. I think there's actually some data out there that says rail two or three is actually a fairer, rail position than rail true. - It doesn't improve, you can sell the joint. - At Rosalind. Yeah, interesting one. We're gonna go to the feature. It is the Rosebud, and this is for our three-year-olds listed company, and it is not just the Colts, not just the fillys. It is the two combined, which is awesome to see. Blue Dory, our $4.20 favorite from Castillo King. This has been the big firm at today. We're not up $5.50 with bet 365. We're not as big as $8 with other green joints. It's into $4.40. - Not green friends. (laughing) - Not our green friends. - The green hop. Central Europe's $5.50 into $4.80. Chile girl is $5.50 out to $8, and under focus is $19. Interesting thing here, Chile girl maps out standingly from Barry of Files. - Was it drifted? - I'll get to that very soon. I think central Europe, he'll just be given a bit of a, I think he'll just be happy to go back. He's probably got targets over further, deeper in the campaign. Blue Dory maps nicely from Barry of Files. And Castillo King is an interesting one. He's drawn Barry of 14, but there are two or three emergencies to come out at least. So he'll come in a bit, and you can see why he's been hit with some good support. But Chile girl is my best value of the entire day. I can't believe she's getting out to $8 and nearly $3.00 the place. This is a filly by Trapese artist. In those lovely Trapese artist silks, who hopped on the bunny was straight to the lead in the wooden stakes. Beat Mrinal. You can line up that Mrinal form lines with big wigs here in Victoria. It was a good rating win. She has Tim Clark in the saddle who I think is the best front running jockey in Australia. And I just can't believe she's getting out to an each way price this big. So I also think she is one of the better suited horses to 1,100 meters in this race. And some of these other favorites might be better over further. So I'm Chile girl on top. I thought Blue Dore was some sort of danger. Castillo King, he's going to get back and run on in central Europe. Just looking at him, he doesn't strike me as a short course, 1100 meter sprinter. Well, 100 was two short last preparation. So how's 1100 going to-- I think he's a core field guinea source. So I think he's too short in this. He's back to Hort Puntas is what he's back to. What do you like? Anything? I don't really have a fair opinion in the race. I would love to have back cost Castillito King, but Barry for 1,100, I like. Yeah, you would have taken eight bucks. He's probably into it. Yeah, probably, but just-- He'll carry a 40. He'll come into 11 though. Does that sound a bit better? Not really. No, it doesn't. Because I just don't think he's going to end up in the same position where he was under Boo. And Boo was just a really smart win. Yeah. The only other-- I'm happy just to watch. Boys, do you have any thoughts in the race mode? And that's still a wheel who's been back into $1.65 and race number two. - The race of champions. - He looks like he should just go on bolt in there. - Second favorite play jurors. - It's a bit bad, accordingly. - Play jurors is probably well-known 'cause he's been a bit of a meh. (laughing) He has played your eyes so far. He comes as back gilded. I don't think it's enough to beat the favorite. - Still was pretty impressive. - He was. And that is race seven number five in Hawker Hall who got the job done first up last time around. He was too good for the likes of Istole and Merck, Zoo Ripper and who was your horse in the game last? - You guys. - Web. - Win. - Against Hawker Hall last time around? - I school. - I school. - I school pulled up with issues, but Hawker Hall he's gonna go straight to the front here. I think he's gonna be able to run at a more kinder tempo at 1200 meters. - Good form. - And really control this race. At the 1100 meters last time, he was sort of leading, but he was out three wide outside the lead out and just doing a stack of work. And he was very vulnerable late, but he was tough to keep on kicking on. Istole and Merck meets him two kilos better off at the weights. I don't think it'll be enough. I'm happy to back Hawker Hall. He's one of the best bets in Sydney on Saturday. - That Queensland preparations really brought the best out of Rosalind Star with Hawker Hall because they had a great stash at Magic Moon's Day and they've both come and put down big dominant figures first up for their preparations. So they're both bowling well for good runs. - Absolutely. - To come. - Park, give us your set around the grounds, mate. - Well, so yeah, Sydney and Brisbane, I just learned, I've got to a point in my life now where I just enjoy watching the racing for the quality that it is, especially Sydney. I just find it too hard to bet. So I've staying away from there. Catherine Cup, Venting, should win. It's really heavy going in Catherine, so it'll get back, it'll chew the dirt, but it'll, it's got to carry a big weight. - Well, we're going, we're going. - The last at Catherine on Saturday. - On Saturday? - Venting. Amazing, amazing winner, amazing winner in Darwin in the lead up to the cup. It'll be giving him a bit of a start, but she should be going. - No one's just shuffling. - Well, I think it's got to carry, it's got a glumper big weight. So I think it should be, if it's any better than sort of three bucks, it's probably a good play. - 64 kilos, you could almost ride it. - Nearly, not after tonight's pub session. (laughing) The other one is in the broom cup, which I'll be fortunately there on Saturday. There's a horse from Darwin, finally enough as well, who's going there, ran really good, ran fifth in the Darwin cup, settles midfield, they'll go, if they go hard, like they usually do, I'd say, shoot him a gruddy's book to ride Maxi Bond for Chris Nash, and I think there's three nice horses going over from Darwin, and I think can give a horse like Zadar Rock, who is coming through the roadborne cup, has done a fair bit of work, and that wasn't what they're going to do. - That was the tip we caught from the list though, really. - Zadar Rock, we backed him two years ago. I think, I just think these horses in the Kimberly, they obviously run him all the time, they run him through all those Kimberly cups, and they really, really worked them hard. So, come broom cup, 2200 meters, it's a bit of an extra distance. That's going to suit a horse like Maxi Bond, who sort of takes off at the 800 and starts winding into the race, he'll get every bit of 2200, and I think when they start to tie Maxi Bond's horse is flying over the top latent. He doesn't ride as much anymore, shoot him a gruddy, but even when he was in his prime in Perth, he was still going up the road. - I thought he had an Albany, didn't he? - Yeah, but he was still going up north, and riding a broom cups, and there's not many who ride broom better than shoot him a gruddy. So, I'm happy to stick with Maxi Bond there in the broom cup, and hopefully it opens on its last run. Hopefully we get sort of five, six bucks, that'll be nice. - X, Victor, I was thinking Maxi Bond, is that Wendy Kelly? - Yeah, Wendy Kelly. - Wendy Kelly went to South Australia for a bit, and then, no, that's why I have to die, and so, yeah. - That's what, so in the Bon Aurem colors. - Yep. - I'm sure I backed up to some point. - I'm going to green with the brown. - Yeah, yeah, it'll take the green purple. You won't. - Andy, win? - Yeah, we won our grand final, so I think anything after thought. - Anything beyond this is good, but he feels well, and they're happy to progress on, so Shane's done an amazing job. For a horse that they paid 200,000 for at a New Zealand to try and win races on the flat, Shane's turned a horse that-- - It's been a long hard day, but he's got in there. - But he's ended up getting a horse revamped. He's got a new lease on life, and he's got him going. And it's amazing, as I said, it's once again, shows the amazing thing that jumps racing can do for some of these horses just to give them a new lease on life in their racing careers. So it's great that it's done. Look, I'll be honest with you. I think that the handicap has been pretty stiff on him. I know C King did it a while ago, they gave him 69 and a half after he won the hurdle 12 years ago, and it was too much of a test. - It's not a good start for me. So the fact that our horse hasn't even run in a steeple race before, he's only passed in a trial to get his ticket. - That's what doesn't add up to that. - The fact that we're carrying on the a kilo and a half less than seeing for pieces is ridiculous to be fair. But anyway, the weights are against us, but he's going to go there and hopefully runs a good race, whether Tom Ryan sticks on seeing for piece, I'm sure he probably will, who rides us. I'm not too sure, but we'll see which way they go. - Good luck, he's been a revelation over the jumps this season. - That's hard to say. - Three times a winner, I believe this season. - One, three or four wins. - Four, I think four wins. - And he hasn't run out of the top three, so he's been a good money, so he's won the bigger one. - Yeah, no, he's been awesome. - Mr. Lincoln probably looks the set up horse in that race, so I don't know how to talk about the weights. - He's going to be down on the minimum, but. - Does he need a new jockey? Is he, is Old Mate still suspended? - Yeah, I think Chileans suspended. - But not riding him out. Jockey's please, ride your horses out to the lot. - It's going to be interesting. I haven't done the form yet. It got to about halfway through the season and I cracked the shits. I said, I'm not looking at nominations because I looked at these races and I thought these are going to be great races and then all of a sudden we don't even have the fields going around and none of these horses are accepting. So I'll have a good look once they drop and I'll post something up and we'll get something out there. But yeah, obviously this is the final day for jumps racing for the year. So it's been, it's been a good season. It's been, it's ebbed and flowed a little bit. But yeah, hopefully they all get around safely on Sunday and cap off what's been a pretty good season and before you know it will be getting ready to go to Waterville again next year. You only narrowly missed out who you go on this week. - Educated in race number one. Look, I think she came to hand really quickly. She's hit a very high sort of mark and I think she's more than capable of going on with it. I think the current price doesn't sort of suggest that I think she can, I think she's a two-way-dead chance and I think the market will push towards her until they open the gates on Saturday. - Yep, and I'm going to go race number six at Call for your number five in natural fling. Look, I've got great respect for Laura Antipoe. That is the unbeaten New Zealand Philly and also River Arena Lulu who can only improve off that first up win at Flunton. But I just think around Call Field 1100 meters, natural fling is just going to land right in the spot. And if the track is playing even a hint of on speed that she might be off and gone at the 200. And some of these horses, Laura Antipoe, River Arena Lulu, they might just be in the second half of the field. That's what I'm hoping anyway and they might just be. It might just be a little bit too little too late and hopefully natural fling is off and gone. So natural fling for me and you're gone educated. So that'll go pay around $12, $13 after we take the boost. So give it strength, punners. Right, let's get into a couple questions now before we wrap things up. Favorite track you've called out? Thoughts on calling races on a screen compared to calling from the booth and which one is your preferred option? Yeah, binoculars every day of the week. We have screens in our commentators' boxes. I struggle to use them. It's a personal preference thing. I've been doing a bit of online calling from my computer during the break for an overseas company and I'll tell you what it is. It's dice, dicey. It's dicey. But, Yeah, full respect to the guys who do it full time because you are entrusting yourself to do your job to a higher level and rely on the camera work of someone else and the camera quality of something else. So I take binoculars any day of the week. I think that you will see the quality of commentary drop. If you remove commentators from being able to take in the environment of the race and the environment of the race track subconsciously, I think for big horse racing, it's a massive thing to be there and in the mix. So yeah, that's my thing. Look, I mean, I would love to say made-on. Made-on's an amazing track. It's probably right up there. But it's so weird. I have such a soft spot for Singapore. I don't know if anyone ever got out. If many people got out to the Singapore turf club, but it is one of the unfortunate gems that has been let go. And yeah, I think we will be paying the price of losing a jurisdiction like Singapore for many, many years to come as a facility that can train and hold 2,000 horses. And just the environment that you're in as well up there, yeah, just truly, truly one of the great tracks lost. So hopefully, plenty of people got out to Khranji, but it will always have a soft spot in my heart. What's going to happen there now? Is this going to be something to come around? Yeah, hands over the government at the next year. But look, I mean, the old track that was there, Book of Team, they've only just knocked that down and that Khranji replaced that in 2000. So I don't think they're going to be in any race. They're in the cobras or be cobras or be slidin' around it for about 10, 15 years. It could have been, honestly, I was there two weeks ago, three weeks ago, you could literally, you could literally race there on the weekend. Tracks mode, perfect condition, rails are still up, everything's still there to hand over the government next year. It's such so sad. Yeah, that's a sad state of affairs. Journey of the pun is adequate the best bet of the year. Well, that's an interesting horse we haven't spoken about. Goes around racing on it, Roseyle. I've had a look, it's got a carry of the top weight, 59 kilos. He returns, golden, this preparation, out of the car. He's trialled very well. And this is Hippo's only ride of the meeting on Saturday. So a little system bet there. Look, he's got to give these rivals, up to seven kilos, but I couldn't turn you off off out of the car. He's a very nice horse. Just touching on that. It's funny that a few of these very good group one, Jockey's struggling to get a ride at the moment. Obviously that's happening here with a few of the boys that we're sort of tied up with with Zachis Mayn, and Benny Allen and Jordy Childs, and the like, they're all struggling to get rides at the moment and they're more than capable. So this shows you how strong the Jockey depth is in Australia at the moment, especially Melbourne and Sydney, because you could give these works a leg up on a horse, ask them to do a job, and they would do it as good as most. Yeah. Rollin' Gregor, what's the biggest racing upset in recent history that you can remember?
