Our Trip to Niagara Falls

The Zara Guard family podcast episode is recorded live from Niagara Falls, where they are attending a casino show and exploring the famous waterfall. The family drives six and a half hours from New York, with mixed opinions on the journey: some appreciate the scenic beauty, while others question whether the destination justifies the effort. Before the main activities, the family engages in a heated debate about the nature of fun, with Bridge criticizing constant phone use and business-focused thinking, while others argue that sharing experiences online is part of their work and value to their audience. Once they experience Maid of the Mist and Under the Falls, reactions vary. Some family members are awestruck by the power and beauty of the falls, while others focus on the commercialization, such as paying for photos and merchandise. Zoya opens up about feeling overwhelmed by family and business pressures, likening herself to a captive whale and fantasizing about escaping to Rome, which sparks both empathy and playful mockery from her siblings. The episode is marked by chaotic, unhinged banter, including arguments about Europe, colonization, and the quality of produce. It ends with a "good grades" segment where family members give playful critiques, and they acknowledge the episode’s messy, unpredictable nature. Ultimately, they invite listeners to join their "digital family" and enjoy the ride, embracing the chaos as part of their charm.

You're not like the villain of a movie. Did you guys hear that? Being in love is fun. No one is falling for these gimmicks. We're sitting in a nice hotel room in Niagara Falls that we can see. In the prime minister suite. In the prime minister suite looking over Niagara Falls. You are fine. I promise you, you are fine. Hello, namaste. Welcome to the Zara Guard Family Podcast. And we are today talking about Niagara Falls because all five guards are in Niagara Falls. We are here for a casino show, but we're also going to visit and we're going to show you what we're seeing behind the scenes. In front of the scenes, on top of the scenes, behind the scenes, under the falls, all over the place. Why are we here? How far was it from New York? How hard was it to get here? Who wants to talk about it? You drove. I drove from New York to Niagara Falls and I have to say six and a half hours door to door. And it's hardly a, like it's a very pleasant drive. The minute you get out of New York, you're driving upstate. The scenic beauty is amazing. I would say that it's a very pleasant six and a half hour. I mean, it's a little long, but not like, I would still do that. It's not like you're driving over a, you know, hour each way on the airport and then the, you know, flight that doesn't take off. This is a bigger conversation. True. That if the flight is just an hour, which is pretty much what it is from New York to Niagara Falls, but you have to go two hours before the airport, then you got to get, then you got to get your luggage. Let's just be honest. We're all thinking Niagara Falls is not that great. It's not worth it. It's not that big. But you haven't seen it yet. Niagara Falls is so much smaller than it, than people make it out to be. I'm saying a different point. I'm saying, let's just be honest. It's, it's not worth it. Niagara Falls is not worth the trip. It's not. You're spending hours coming here for a 30 minute ferry ride where you get splashed by the mist of the waterfall for 10 seconds. But Bray, it is the most powerful waterfall in the world. And then you walk away. Can we just take one second? Oh my God, you get wet? You get wet? Yes. One second. We are filming this segment of our episode before we have gone in the Maid of the Mist as well as Under the Falls, which we signed up for both. So I want to give that context. I will say, I saw, we can see. We can see the falls from our window. It is stunning. It looks like. Is it a wonder? Is it a seventh? Yeah, it is a seventh wonder. It looks like someone took a spoon and like spooned out the earth and then made this fall come into it. It's stunning. It's stunning. Come on, Bridge. You didn't think when you looked at it, it was stunning? When I'm looking at it and I'm looking at the perspective of somebody who's going to enjoy, I'm looking at the hours it took for me to get there. The hour, the, the, the food that's not that good surrounding it. But nature is like, what do you want nature? You want there to be like a dance show in the middle of the world? Exactly. I don't want to make this a dopamine thing, but like, even if you were to spend the same amount of hours going to an amusement park and spending so many hours waiting in line for the, for the, for the, the ride that's 10 times shorter, it's worth 10 times more. Yes. I mean, these guys just make a McDonald's out of everything. Like literally just go to McDonald's and eat a burger. I will say I'm excited. Instead of enjoying the process of getting the cow, killing her, getting the steak out of it and then cooking it fresh. I want to point out that both of you guys said you agreed with him. When he said go to McDonald's, remember when we used to buy the burgers, I would bring them from a special. Nobody has time for that. That's a different process. The process of curating meat, to be able to create a beautiful burger is different than the process of sitting in a car for six and a half hours. And enjoying the scenic beauty of upstate New York. You are not enjoying the scenic, you are not looking out that window thinking, wow, this is so beautiful. That's true. But I was insistently refreshing Instagram. Then what is the point of the scenic beauty? I'm excited. I think there's something very romantic about it. I think there's something very romantic about Niagara Falls, even though I'm spending it with my family. So tell us the boy you're going with. I would love to one day go on a date at Niagara Falls. Or just go on a date period? People get engaged and married at Niagara Falls all the time. They do? Yeah, they do. This is a big moment for a lot of Americans and Canadians. No, Indians. When Indian people come. You would never date a guy who is looking to go to Niagara Falls. I'm just going to say it. That's the truth of the matter. You are not into the guys who would be like, I think we should go to Niagara Falls. I got a question for you. We've been in New York for over 25 years. Yeah. How come we never came to Niagara Falls? Because you don't like these things. That's not true. No. You're such a liar. You're such a liar. If you were not getting paid to be in Niagara Falls, you would not be in Niagara Falls. And you've been in America even longer than that. This is the first time. I've been to Niagara Falls before. As a child. So have I. My family, Indian people, when we come to America, there are two places we want to go. Disney and Niagara Falls. These are the two places. I almost want to go to these two. No Indian is going to Grand Canyon. Why though? No one is going to Yosemite. Why not Grand Canyon? Because that's like a crater is on every road in Mumbai. You don't need that. But this is stunning. And I have been through Maid of the Mist and Behind the Fall. It's actually really fun. When these kids, when we're done, we're going to add the review. Can you give us a promise that you will not be on your phone this trip when we go to the Niagara Falls? I'm on the phone for my work. I'm trying to share with the audience. Okay. What can you do in life that allows you to not be on your phone for six hours? Use the bathroom. Or maybe not even that. No. What? Six hours? My point being, these trips now are so dead. Going to Niagara Falls is dying. Going to a nice national park is dying. I don't know if going to a national park is dying. You are literally on your phone. Think about yourself. Think about you who's watching this podcast right now using technology. When you're going to these trips, you're going to be photographing the whole thing. You're going to be photographing the ocean, the waterfall. You're going to take a video of yourself in a poncho getting splashed by a little bit of mist. Everyone is on their goddamn phones. And no one is enjoying the moment. No bad words. I will say that I am so excited because as someone who's thinking constantly about designing family-friendly experiences, which are stand-up comedy shows, are a full-blown family fun experience now. I really, really hope that you check it out. One element we added to our shows was actually after we went to a Knicks game. We went to a Knicks game, as you might have seen. It was so, so fun. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Yes. It was actually an amazing highlight of my year this year. And they throw out things into the crowd as a moment of the show, like a free T-shirt. And they made it a whole full-blown. They have the gun and everything. We started doing that as a part of our live shows. And we've seen that it's really made it an elevated experience. And one thing that's really important is when you're building interesting products, it's helpful to see what other products are in that category to see if there's anything you can learn from. Like I saw there's a brochure for Niagara Falls. I'm going to read that. I mean, maybe I'm a total nerd and I'm just overanalyzing the whole thing. But I'm excited to see how they put the whole thing together. Bridge noticed that the two boats that are, you know, driving in the Niagara Falls area are blue and red because of the colors of Canada, right? Well, that also doesn't make sense. It's also from a design perspective. It makes it look like you can tell. Like it looks cool when you're looking at it. It looks so pretty. Wait, who monopolized Niagara Falls? Like who owns it? No, nobody owns it. Who runs it? It's one side is a Canadian side. What kind of enjoyment is this? You're either on your phone or you're thinking, how can I use this for my business? Bridge, what about the social aspect? No, but DeeDee is literally saying I'm analyzing for business. Wait, I accept that I'm not a fun person. I'm not claiming you are. I'm not. But I'm telling the audience because the audience should at least have some fun in life. This is so insane. Like this is so insane. We are coming to this day. Okay, Bridge, define fun. Define fun. The idea of fun is enjoying a moment so much with no preoccupied expectations about it. So to basically just be on the phone all the time? No. How is that at all what he's saying? I'm not saying what. I'm saying enjoy an experience where you don't have to be on your phone, where you don't have to be thinking, how can I maximize the profits off of this? Give examples of such. Spend money and throw it in the trash. An example is going to a concert, enjoying the artist's life, not having your phone out, and literally just enjoying that moment. But Bridge, we don't live like that. Like even if the concerts that you're talking about, right? Coachella. What was Coachella? It was wall to wall social media coverage. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's how we enjoy things today. I don't think there's any- Not everybody enjoys that, though. It's what I'm saying. Most people who want to just have fun in life- Yeah. Bridge. Do not enjoy just seeing Justin Bieber on their Instagram Reels for five weeks straight. I love Justin Bieber. I actually love him. That moment of- What are we talking about? That moment that Billie Eilish was brought on stage by Justin Bieber and then he serenaded her with like the, like the- I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. Justin Bieber and then he serenaded her with like the, the lonely, the only girl in the world song. I actually don't think I've enjoyed social media more. She went to Coachella and hated it, by the way. I have been to Coachella. I mean, it's not for me. I'm just too boring and lame of a person. I just am. And I liked wearing some outfits. That was fun. But I do think Bridge, why don't you- And we're not even going with friends. We're going with family. Like every part of this is a cook trip. Bridge, why don't you set a precedent then? Why don't you tell us what you want to see out of this? What do you want to see out of the Gargs differently than what we do usually? Yeah. Okay. One thing- And you're not allowed to say gambling because I'm not allowed to. One thing that'd be fun for the Gargs is if we did an activity together with no social media coverage. So what if we, for this Niagara Falls, we're about to do an activity. What do you want? I'm going to record this. I can't. I'm gonna record this my people want to see what it feels like and I'm I'm working I like I'm out I understand I've I would like to go trekking in a national park like like this zip line wait hold on dad like the zip lining that we do we have a lot of fun that's true there's no social media we've never recorded it something like that is fun where you're just off the market in other words your mother's celebrity also comes at that and the benefits that it brings that celebrity that the benefits that the celebrity brings also brings costs with it support for today's episode comes from square the business tool that helps sellers become neighborhood favorites and our business uses it every single show when we sell merchandise square has made it so easy for us to collect point of sales information to process payments to manage even inventory it is such an intelligent system the hardware the little square that you may have seen your local coffee shop use is so easy to install so easy to use my kids use it to manage all our merch sales I cannot recommend it highly enough I'm so overjoyed to tell you about it if you are a small business owner you're a consultant or whatever it is that you do and you need to collect payments square should be the one system you check out immediately because we've had so much success with it square helps you run your business more smoothly bringing payments operations and insights together in one place so you're ready for whatever's next right now listeners can get up to $200 of square hardware when you sign up at square.com/go/zarna that's square s-q-u-a-r-e.com/go/zarna get started with square and build a setup that works the way you do this episode is sponsored by better help so now we're openly talking about mental health in the world that we're in but getting the help that you need is still a challenge and research confirms it better helps 2026 state of stigma report surveyed 2000 Americans and revealed that 85% of Americans believe getting support is wise yet 74% say society discourages people from doing so please people if you need help there is no more reason to delay there are so many tools available better help makes it so easy tens of thousands of licensed professionals with top reviews available don't let stigma stand in the way of support start therapy with better help.com sign up and get 10% off at better help.com/zarna that's better help help.com/zarna let me do a poll let me do a poll let me ask the audience do you enjoy it when do you enjoy it when we share our experiences with you do you enjoy do you enjoy it when we give ourselves completely to you do you if not you can feel free to tell us in comments right now that is so manipulative that's not what I'm not saying the audience doesn't enjoy it I'm not saying I like giving the audience value I like doing both of those things and I hope they do enjoy it I think the poll you really should be doing is asking the question do you agree or not agree that that her celebrity has made the life of the rest of the family near impossible to live okay just stop with the chaos let's just go to Niagara Falls and let's see it with our own eyes can you run shut up every day you're working out run quickly what is the point of this stupid workout classes just run quickly don't make in time people naturally miss it people work out all day long and cannot do anything in real life can you run shut up every day you're working out run quickly don't make in time people naturally miss it people work out all day long and cannot do anything in real life can you run shut up every day you're working out run quickly don't make in time people naturally miss it people work out all day long and cannot do anything in real life can you run shut up every day you're working out all day long and cannot do anything in real life I do not want. I like it the way I like it. I know that. Very happy family trip we are having in the Niagara Falls. Very happy family trip. We highly recommend to everybody. And if Niagara Falls needs a sponsor, then I'm available. Stop it! Stop it! We are in the world famous Niagara Falls, which is no relation to Viagra Falls. This Niagara Falls is doing a lot of falling as we speak. It is cold. It is wet. It is misty. It is mystical. It is magical. It is a lot of rhetorical also in terms of is it falling? Are we catching? Where are we going in life? So many questions you will ponder if you end up in the ride to Niagara Falls. See you there. Amazing. Actually, it's the wrong way. Bridge said that we weren't going to get wet. Why do we ever listen to Bridge? Why are you live streaming? You can't even stand straight. I don't care because I am committed to the job, people. Immigrants get the job done. What is this little, little waterfall over here? I've been dealing with waterfalls my whole life in Mumbai. This is what happens when you have no HRT. Zorna gets to go with me. Zorna gets to yell at me. And now? I don't even know if we are going to make it out of the boat alive. Can you see? Guys, is this boat waterproof or are we? It's not waterproof. Oh my God. Oh, man. This has to be one of the greatest experiences of my life. Like, seriously, what an experience. Oh, it's so cool. That's awesome. I couldn't even open my eyes. I guess I did it but now he's back. Oh. Where did you guys disappear? I was looking for you. Three little ducks with those two guys. Zoya, I don't think I care about the ducks. I love them. You know what I appreciate about this experience? It's not like America where everything is the Hunger Games. Like, even if you buy a ticket, you better get in there early and get this for it. It's like pretty mellow the way they run it. It's very family friendly. No matter when you get in, where you get in, you're going to get a great view. It's a very relaxing-- there's babies and people in wheelchairs here enjoying this experience. I really appreciate the fact that it's very inclusive. There's some McDonald's on the ship. Ignore him. It's a very, very good experience. A plus all the way. We did it! Zoya, you were so excited at the beginning. Did you end excited? It was awesome. The best part was seeing Bridge and Beer get completely show. Still didn't wear a poncho, by the way. Really? That was so fun. Hey, Zorna, do you think we can hit that rollercoaster for me? Never! Not in this lifetime, no. Aw. Of course they'll make you get out at a merch store, and then people accuse me of being too busy. Zorna, you make everybody exit your shows at the merch store. That's right. That's, I guess, where I learned that from. Even I'm like, "Should I get something?" Who do I give my A grade to now that it's done? I'm going to give my A grade to myself because I really took this experience and tried to learn as much as I possibly could from it. And I feel like I came out learning why people do things like this. And I'm really. No, he didn't. grateful and excited for how amazing this trip was. Before the thing, he literally said that this was going to be terrible and stuff. I never said that, actually. You don't deserve your own A grade. If you listen to me closely at the beginning of this episode, I say this is a learning opportunity for everyone who doesn't understand it. Just rewording his false words. And lastly, I will say also, like, at the end of the day, I did survive the entire trip without my poncho on, which is something that I hear has never been done before, so there you go. Has been done. Literally other people on the ship were not wearing their ponchos. The trip took it all out of me. I barely survived it. There were moments on that ship, I thought I would topple over and die. But I tried my best to fall asleep. Oh my God, stop it already. Nothing happened to you. You're fine. What are you looking at now? What are you trying to figure out? I'm trying to figure out if anybody watched my live stream because I was live streaming under the falls so people could see at home what I was seeing with my eyes in real time because that's what kind of business I run. Niagara Falls! You know what would be fun is if we could play a round of mini golf together and all we did was play that round together. I would do that. No technology. Yeah, I would do it. How would we win? It's not about winning. I disagree. I think it is about winning. Why can't there be competition? Because you don't play sports at all, obviously. Wait, we played pickleball. Me and mom played pickleball when we were in Orlando or wherever in Florida. And just tell everyone how much fun it was to play with your dad and your brothers. It was, you know what? Playing pickleball with dad, with mom, Bridge Veer, was probably the. was probably the most fun we've had as a family and it was because. Yeah, but it was more fun to play with your dad, was it or was it not? No, it's not a competition. Well, was it all a competition? I'm literally leading the podcast. Bridge, can you just tell them the truth? It doesn't matter. It was different styles of fun. Was it fun? But it was the right style of playing with your dad and your brothers. Dad, I'm actually so close to actually punching you in the face. Like, I can't even contain myself. But can you punch hard enough that I get hurt? Yes, I will. Like, look at my bicep. Like, it's been. Oh, shoot, it actually is like this. Yes, I've been grinding. Was it fun considering that you're not very good at pickleball? I actually wanted to leave. There's a chance. This is weird. No, I should just say it. There's a chance. I've been having what I think is a psychotic break. Like, you know, when there's a really sad tragedy where, like, whales are in captivity and they start doing crazy things. Are you comparing yourself to a captive whale? They start doing crazy things. This is the most insane comparison we've ever had in podcast. No, I actually am going to be honest. This might be offensive. It could be offensive, and I'm really sorry. But I am telling you guys how I feel. I feel a little bit like I've been in this cage for a long time because I'm trying to do everything right. I think eldest daughters will relate to this. I'm trying to be good to my mom. I'm trying to be a good older sister to my brother. I'm trying to make sure that my dad is involved in our family. Otherwise, he's literally like, what are we even doing? I literally feel like. That's true. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. If you click the shut up button on me. Oh, my gosh. I actually feel. Zoya, did you know that whales don't die of old age? They die because they get tired and drown themselves. I know. I feel. They just stop swimming. I literally have had this fantasy recently. You know nothing about marine biology. I've been having this fantasy. It's a fact. You can check. Whales don't die of age. They just get tired and stop swimming. I've literally been having this fantasy. I'm not even joking. I fantasize late at night about going to Rome and just never coming back. Dude. Go do it. I might. I might. I might. You are so. You're such a liar, bro. I'll bark at nobody. No one thinks you're going to do it. At least she had to pick Rome and not Ghaziabad in India. Oh, my God. What are you talking about? That's right. She has to pick the most exotic, expensive, amazing city. People think dream about going to Ghaziabad. Just saying that if you're going to imprison yourself, it's hardly Rome. No, I just wonder if I'm having this early 20s midlife crisis. Because I feel. Bro, you are fine, bro. You're fine. No, I'm not. I'm not. You're at your peak now. That makes sense. A peak of a book is the only. Just because you're bad at pickleball does not reflect anything else. No shit. She has her own issues. I haven't spent time with anyone I owe a day. Did you hear what mom just said? I literally have not done anything fun in years. I'm so. And you know what's fun for me? Define fun. Yeah. Honestly. I thought you just said we had so much fun playing pickleball. Define fun, Zoya, for yourself. Didn't you just say that? Oh, my God. I agree with you. Now we understand why you can't have fun. So when was the last time you were in love? Bro, you're clip-arming so hard that you're not in a movie right now. Why did you just repeat yourself? I'm not, like, the villain of a movie. Like, no one is falling for these gimmicks. You don't need to have a soft story. You're not a Captain Whale. I'm not giving a gimmick. You are fine. There are worse issues out there. Bridge, don't bring a mom out of you. Be less like your mom in this topic. What? Where did mommy go? Where did mommy even come from in this topic? Support your sister in moments of romance. Because that's who you are. There is, when she's dating a guy, she will have fun. Like, it's okay. She was recently, just a couple of months ago. Oh, my God. Okay. Anyway, coming back to Niagara Falls. We're very excited to be here. And one of the things that happens when we're all together is this. The utter chaos. Somebody's happy. Somebody's sad. Somebody's feeling locked in. Somebody's feeling boxed out. Sis, when are you okay with us going on a cruise ship, by the way, to the moon? Honestly, are you saying we're not going on a cruise ship? We are not going on a ship. How do you think this works? You'd go on a ship. No, this ship has been around for a hundred years. Probably getting over now. This ship, it's like a little 20-minute excursion around the falls. You'll see when we do it. Because I did it as a child, you'll see when we do it that it's actually super fun. If I get wet on this ship. You're going to get wet. I'm done. We're going to be in Niagara Falls. You're not going to be swimming in the falls. I don't know how to swim. You're not swimming. I'm jumping in the falls. Wait, you know, there's something very auspicious about being near Niagara Falls. Like, sometimes people have, like, mystical unlocks in their psychology. Oh, and I'm going to unlock, like, a pet dragon or something? Is that what's also going to happen? No, like, it's like you're just so astonished. Well, it's like in the Game of Thrones. Is that right? No. Game of Thrones has this beautiful falls in it. Is that where they created the Niagara Falls from? The idea from Game of Thrones? Niagara Falls is a replica of Game of Thrones. Oh, my God. Hold on. Wait, there's just so many. There's so many. Like, how does he know how to do this? I think we should title this episode the most unhinged episode we've ever done because we're just saying this. Oh, but Game of Thrones came out. after Niagara Falls. Oh, man. Sorry, that can't be. Niagara Falls. The story of Game of Thrones is older than Niagara Falls. I'm going to say something. Okay. When some people see astonishing natural moments, they feel epiphanies. It happens all the time. And I'm curious, I'm wondering. That is strictly white women. No other people who are like doing something in life feel epiphanies. Mama's a whole joke about how women, or not women, like white people go to India to find themselves. That is the equivalent of what you're talking about right now. If you're going to Niagara Falls to find yourself, you're a cook. Give it up. Go do something else in life. You're not finding anything. I'm sorry. I hate to be the one to say it. You're telling me you would go to Niagara Falls to find yourself? No, I found myself. I'm here. Where did you find yourself? I am here. I'm with me at all times. I'm not paying anybody to go anywhere to find myself. I'm already drowning in bills. If I find myself on my bed being left alone, I'd be very happy. That's where I find myself. I don't like all. I agree with you. This whole epiphany. She reads too many of these things. She listens to too many of these podcasts. I don't listen to podcasts. I have this experience. It's like not that deep. It's a fun thing. It's a beautiful, natural thing. We're doing it and we're working while we're doing it. That's all this is. But that's what happens when all five of us are together. Things just spiral. Everybody. First of all, nobody has slept enough so people are a little bit delirious. Oh my God. Dad, you actually. Dad, you don't understand what the type of sleep schedule we're on right now. Four of us have not slept enough. He has slept enough for a lifetime. And literally, that's why we're all a little delirious saying anything trying to keep this unhinged episode going. I'm not delirious at all. Yeah, Bridget's in control of his facilities. I'm actually pretty sad right now. Women and children can be that way, not men. I feel really calm when I see really old art. What? Why did you bring that? oh my god we're talking about epiphanies i felt so just go to rome bro like if you're gonna do it have some conviction and take your butt to rome like i don't understand like why you keep hold on hold on you want to talk about something you always say i bring up football so much how often does she bring up rome no hold on if she wants to see old art we live five minutes from the met no i'm also doing this new um diet so i'm eating a lot of green stuff and i feel like because we're also not eating sugar it's that's been problematic that is boring it's like how are we gonna go to europe and we're not gonna eat like the gelato and the cookies like they make it fresh with the real ingredients are you really gonna last in the no sugar challenge when we're there i think we should i think it'll be even harder because the fruits and vegetables in europe suck oh my god that's not true no it's just because they don't use any of like these spray chemicals natural yeah but this is ridiculous they don't taste like ridiculous oh my god natural tasting mr europe that you get in europe you're gonna you're gonna berate that you're gonna berate that natural produce because your stupid bodies are lined up with these chemicals do you know say sorry right now like literally ridiculous good question though what do you do in europe i'm actually curious for the people in the audience who are european or travel out to europe what are your favorite activities in europe what should we look to do a typical european person is so fit they can climb up a mountain there's Summary:
