The podcast features a lively, self-deprecating conversation between Benito Skinner and Mary Beffarone as they dive into personal stories, creative projects, and cultural observations. Central themes include the joy of classic romantic comedies like *Notting Hill*, which they praise for its authentic chemistry and emotional depth, and the importance of embracing human flaws and regrets. The hosts explore how societal expectations—especially around single life and dating—can feel suffocating, advocating instead for personal freedom and self-acceptance. They highlight product endorsements for brands promoting comfort, confidence, and body positivity, such as Third Love bras, K18 hair masks, and Hill House Home loungewear. A humorous anecdote about a spilled smoothie and intrusive thoughts leads into a heartfelt discussion about mental health, referencing therapy and the concept of "NoCD" to validate emotional struggles. The episode also introduces a new creative project—a short film about a political assassin—blending satire with deeper commentary on power, identity, and autonomy. Throughout, the tone remains playful, candid, and rooted in vulnerability, celebrating imperfection and the courage to live authentically. The hosts conclude by affirming that growth comes from embracing mistakes, and that the journey of self-discovery is both messy and deeply human.
The following podcast is a "Dier Media Production". I'm Benito Skinner. I'm Mary Beffarone. And this is. Right, right. Beautiful, lie, hot, and sexy. Beautiful. They were playing Zara Larson in "Jo and the Juice". Last time I went 20 minutes ago. Yeah. We dropped your sandwiches for lunch. And dinner. And dinner. And dinner. And just to walk in and you're. I think coming back from COVID, I'd say. I came here and got the last play. I'm. First of all, I love when people say they had COVID when they didn't take a COVID test. Have you ever known your body? Have you ever in your life known your body? Then they tell people I had COVID last week. So then everyone they interact with goes, "Well, I guess I have COVID." So now you're saying you have COVID. Sorry, I just flea-bagged at the camera. Yeah, you broke the fourth law. It's neck. But here's the thing. I just think like. They haven't acknowledged us. They never will. Don't the juice. Yeah, they're playing cat and mouse. No, because it's. Yeah. But just walking in it beautiful. Fly, hot, and sexy. What's this song pretty ugly that you put? Have you ever seen a pretty girl get ugly like this? Which is pretty much every time we're on camera for this podcast, I'd say. Well, it's okay. So just to talk a little bit about the current space we're inhabiting. And I mean space in the larger sense. Like. Yeah, sweetheart. When you attend events and things like that, you're getting glam a lot. So then when you don't have to have glam, it just feels better to not wear makeup and have just like bare skin. But that does definitely have its consequences, like looking terrible on this podcast. I've decided if you want to fuck us, you want to fuck us, regardless. Well, you should. Like, you can't just have us with our glam. Can you finish the shot? She's been drinking an immunity shot. We're about 10 minutes. Well, we are teaching the brits how to drink a drink. You can drink slow. Your time, my life. Yeah. Let it simmer, nurse it. Everyone in this country is baffled by the fact that it takes me six hours to drink a nice coffee. It's all people that brought up to me. They're like, you're still with that coffee. I'm like, having this coffee is as good as my day gets. I'm nursing it. I'm nursing it because I don't want it to end. Just once it's gone, honey, it's gone. You can't get it back. It's gone and then you have your second one and it never hits the same as that first one. It doesn't hit the same. Well, the firm does tickle you quite a bit. You are understanding. We're in the Great British Library. We're in London, I guess we should say about two. London. I love it here. I'm London, so happy to have you back, baby girl. And I finally get to do a ride that I've been waiting to do for. Since I was six. It's really fun. Six. And that case. And that case. Delaney Jane, she's like entered her new era. So there's AI and then there's Delaney Jane. She is like, she's adding her own special effects to her videos. The production value has increased 10 fold. She's killing it. She's absolutely eating down. I need to meet her. I need to give her a hug. She's so. I'm just trying to think where we could do that. The daughter. We have to go to Australia. I really want to go to Australia. I really do. It's just so far. I have to jump. My sister lives there. I need to go. I need to visit her at some point. I think I love this down there. I think I will be a little film down there. I think I will be a little film that we're in at some point. Yeah, definitely. They love filming in Australia. We're going to get there. We're going to London. We'll stop by. We're about New York City. Well, I would love to film something in New York. Should we talk about "G Humanity" or "Party"? No, I made you think of it. It's a party, yes. Should we read some of our jokes? So we're actually going to save those for. We have a very special guest next week. Oh, yeah, we have a guest. We have a guest next week. It is so not who you think it is. Can I just say? I think it's going to totally completely. I couldn't, when you said it to me, I couldn't believe it. Yeah, well, we're turning to the sacred text in a way. I can't wait. Or I could just latch you to right here. No, you were being so funny. I was the funniest I've ever been yesterday. I know. So for anyone who wasn't there, I'm sorry, but. Well, it was hardly anyone. So it was just two people. It was two people. For some reason, I could have toured it. It was like as good as. You were cracking me up. Do you want to talk about your dream day as a woman? You went. You went, you riffed last night. You were riffing solo. I didn't have to say anything. I was so tired. I wanted to be a woman for one. Why I'd COVID? Well, I have COVID. It's the black plague. They got all kinds of stuff over here. I'm not used to it. And are you laughing? I love our producer. Jimmy's here. We didn't have Jimmy last time because we booked two last minute. But so we were left for our devices of clicking the record button. And I just said, "I got too scared last time." We, you know, I didn't click that record. So I like, like, it's a, you know, I want to include you together. Mutant. Mutant and proud. Wicked. We're good. We were riffing yesterday. We had fun. We were so hung over after the cheek. I've never, it's the worst hangover I've had in years. It was so bad. I really was upset with myself. I was, I was sad. I keep taking down cheeseburgers in a way that is, it's seeming clinical. It's clinical. But it's so mean. It's like a cheeseburger. Let's talk about daddy. If you think I forgot one thing you said last night, her name is daddy. I think, okay, so I just was like so delirious and I just thought, I want to have a day as a woman. And I want to see such a level of out of pocket that, like, so I said, I would start the day. What did I say? I said, I'd meet a guy and be like, take me to dinner. I don't shit. Like the second I read him, he feels so uncomfortable. He'd say, yes. I show up at the dinner. And of course, it would paste these on. Crotchless panties. And hug boots to my thigh. No, but then he takes you to dinner in the hole that you're saying, I want to have your babies. And then you end up with my figure and I go, I want to have your babies. And then he tries to touch you and you, and then you go, you have to take me to Disney first. You forgot what I ordered for dinner. Dog. Strawberry banana smoothie. Did I take two shots? And oysters. Then you go ride the rides at Magic Kingdom. And the whole time I'm going, like, and then you say your boss. I grab his crotch at one point. I say, your boss was so good. And then I don't sleep with him. No. No. And then I kill him. Throw him in the river. Well, it's a political assassination. Of course. It's a political day was spent with the governor. I want this for you so bad. Oh, I know. Come on, Jeannie. It's all I want. Jeannie gives you one magic. Don't you don't end homelessness. Enduring dinner. It's not world peace. What do you put in my fist in my mouth? It's steady. It's one day is steady. One day is steady. Yeah. And she's so like, I don't know. I know exactly what she looks like for some reason. Oh, and I would have gotten filler earlier in the day of my lips, so I'd have bruised lips. And anytime someone brings it up, I go, it's ketchup. I love her. Fuck. It's all I want. Now, this is a great idea for a short film. You asked me because the twist that she's a political assassin, I think we really catch people. Of course she has a gun. Right. A couple of guns. I thought I was going to be a woman for a day and wouldn't have a gun. Come on now. You'd have to. I have to make it through the day. You'd have to. Yeah. Your balls feel so good. Jeannie, Jeannie's side in the corner. His heart's about to stop. Well, no, Jeannie's thinking. He said, if only I could meet a woman like such as that. He goes dream date and he knows that. Yeah. Oh my god. Okay. So the world ain't ready. So girls that you're listening. Just a few little pointers. I think my pasties would be either X's or hearts. Well, you know, they make sham rocks. And you know, they make sham rock pasties. So they're sham rocks. And in the middle of dinner, they'd keep peeling off. And I keep going, oh my goodness. My bosoms. And then I have to press them back into my nipples. I have huge areolas, by the way. I know. I assume that they don't cover them. No, um, yeah. And then in the middle of dinner she goes, I have to pull it. Do you have a naryola? I'm sorry, because this might be out there. But yeah, one that's so big that. A pastie couldn't even try. A pastie cycle. And XL pasties. There is still that outline of it. Like it doesn't quite cover it. Well, it's in fact, it kind of just makes like a, like a, um, like a symbol. Yeah, it's a whole, it's totally new thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's where we're at creatively. So kind of like I've never been more, I'm in creative flow. That you're in flow state. I'm in flow state. Yeah. Wow. I mean, to see that live last night. And again, today, obviously, I mean, you could see I was like actually crying, but. Thank you. The idea of that.
- Yeah, I almost just revealed who was listening. We can believe it, but he was. - As if they're not gonna figure that out. - Okay, the other person who was there. - It was, of course, Edward Blumel. - It was good to catch up with old friends when you're in town. - Yes, and he missed being in hotel rooms with me, doing vids for you. - What's the deal? - Something that I see the two of you in a room, and I'm like, I'm gonna launch into, I'm it, the clown. - Yeah, we love that. - Dream role. - I did extend my stay at the hotel one night, and they kind of honeydicked me because they told me how much it was gonna be without VAT service charge, et cetera, et cetera. - Oh. - So when I went down this morning to tap that credit card, I was hit with a number that I was simply not expecting. And I just said, you know what, say lovey. - Loveeta Bonita. - Loveeta Bonita, Carpe Diem. - Of course, well that one too. - Okay, another modernization I wanna do. Carpe Diem is Latin for C's today, but I think Carpe Diem shoot your shot. You should be dieming more people. - Oh, sounds like someone's got a new T-shirt T-shirt. (laughs) - Me putting that on a T-shirt. - I want you to come out with a T-shirt brand. - I sell three units of the Carpe Diem T-shirt. - You think that's a three unit purchase? That's got a number, honey. - You think that has that seller potential? - Numbers, Jimmy by one. - Jimmy would bully would gift one gratis, need by three. - I want Jimmy to wear whiteie tighties with that on it. - On the back of this Carpe Diem. Some girl taking those off. - He's married, fully. - His wife taking those off, the fuck? See, I can adapt. - She goes, "Who have you been hanging out with?" - Oh, wait, this is daddy in the middle of the day. - So, what's your wife's name? - She leans from southern to Nina drama to different accent per oyster. - Different accent, per course. - Yeah, yeah. - We're having a smoothie after dinner and then just a belching. - And then for dessert. - Take me to Disney. - For dessert, it's Disney, but she also goes, "I love tiramisu." And they don't have it on the menu, so they have to go somewhere else. Proved to me, you love me. - See, if we lived in a world where women could behave, that way, the world would be such a better place. - No, that's what I mean. Like, it's just this one day. - We have to hold back so much. - I know. - And even still guys won't date us. Like, we can be the perfect woman and still. - You were the perfect woman the other night at GQ, men of the year, and all about men. You made it all about women. - Women's is. - My goodness, gross. - Oh, yes. I mean, it was fun. I wore the dress in my dreams. I decided I'm gonna wear that dress again to something else, 'cause I want to re-wear. - It's your Tiffany Haddish, Alexander McQueen dress. - Exactly. I think you're for saying that. - Oh no, it's back. - Oh my God, when you rubbed your nose. - God, it's just like-- - That was so-- - It's crushed. - Well, you look good. You look like this. - You know what? - Our friend said it was cutie. - If you haven't seen the episode of Ride From Last Week, the way Benny, someone in the comments goes, the way Benny rubbed his nose like a toddler, and it has the timestamps so you can just-- - Sorry, I just like, sometimes it just-- - You were doing things. - You were doing hand puppets or whatever, shadow puppets. - Well, I have SARS COVID-19. - All right, let's get into what we ride for. - Oh, sometimes I think about you saying, thank you, my friends, about the bat at the Wuhan market. - Do you remember? - I remember, but here's the problem where we're at. - Because if COVID hadn't happened, your friend wouldn't have gotten cheated on. - Oh, yeah, of course, and she would have still got married. - And she would have still gotten married to someone who cheated on her. - That was my cousin. - Your cousin, yeah, your cousin-- - That's Lafamilia. - Yeah, Lafamilia. - Lafamilia. - Family runs deep. What did I write? - We made it for good. - Scanlon Family Strong in a script for Overcompetiting. - Yeah. - That made you laugh. It's fun to write, drafts, and know that Mary Beth will read them, and then I'm going to get a text about something that I've added. - Oh, yeah. - I have little wings from my girl. - Today, I will be writing for Notting Hill. - Oh. - The film, not the place, but the place is great too, but it's the film. - Well, the film is everything. I'm going to write for having regrets. - Pinkie. - Pinkie is attacking my ear right now. She is slavering down the holes. - A sister. - The Barones and Hill House Home are back. - But this time, their entire website is 25% off their annual suit. - In case you don't know, let us introduce you to Hill House Home. - Hill House Home invented the viral nap dress. - Oh, I love taking naps in my nap dress. - Celebs like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hathaway, Kathy Hilton and Mary Beth Burrone, have been spotted in Hill House. - And their latest customer, Daddy. - Daddy girl, she would love a Hill House nap dress. - They make me go take a nap and you'll cause it. Is that the perfect woman? - It's smiling. - She, I wonder why she's single. - Yeah, if you can't handle me burpee. - That was very dirty. Dutty would have done that after every blister. And then she goes, "These always manage to make me sick as a dog." Take me to Disney's stupid. She'd say stupid the whole time. - She only wants to ride rides on a full stomach. - Oh no, when they do it in a dispatch mountain. - She does splash down. She has a first soul there. - She buys, but she buys a mini costume as well. - Well, of course not to wear, just to buy. - Just to have. - Just to have. - Because I love this piece, buy it for me. - Buy it for me. I want to go to the Biblity Bapari Bhutik. That's what she says. And every time she meets a princess, she goes, "I'm one, two, I love her." She is the one.
God, she's me, it's all my dreams. - You would make this character come to life, but I understand why you can't. - Too tired, no, too tired. So there's this film, Notting Hill. Clip that, British Library Clip that. I'm back in London, so I think it's-- - I think it's about fucking time I talked about this film. I think it's the best where I'm coming of all time, and I said it. So my mom is a Hugh Grant head. She is addicted to that sour puss. - Can I just say one thing about my history with Hugh Grant? - Can you tell me what year it came out? - I will. - And then you're allowed to go. - And then I can speak on that. - Then you're allowed to talk. - Notting Hill, you know that my family, 1999. So actually a little later than I even thought. - Yeah, so I was six in the movie theater. My parents really just didn't give a-- - No, Hugh Grant, I always had a sort of negative connotation with because he cheated on Elizabeth Hurley with a prostitute, which obviously I think prostitution, like let's get it, ladies. You know, I support it as a job. - First. - Well, you support Dutty's. - And I support Dutty as a person, as an individual, and as a singular voice in entertainment. But I felt like to be such a public person, I don't know, maybe you should just be a little more careful. Go to a hotel. I mean, you shouldn't cheat, but if you're going to, I think he got caught in the back of a car, cheating on Elizabeth Hurley with a prostitute. - My mom really left that out of any narrative about him. I think she just chose to. - She wanted to protect him for you guys. - Amen. - Amen, mom. - Thank you. - Thank you. - I had that with Jude Law and Santa Miller. That really hurt me because they meant the world to me. - With the nanny. - I know, you know, Taylor's all this time. - If I was a celebrity, let's just say, if I was a celebrity, and I was married with a family, I'm going to hire the gayest gay male nanny, money can buy. - You can imagine. - I ain't hiring a young hot thing. I want him walking in, going beautiful, fly, hot, and sexy, fresh from the berries. - I don't care how insane they are. I don't care. I'm like, I trust you with my children. I'm not bringing another woman into the house. In an ideal world, you wouldn't even need to worry about it, but I think I'll end up with a cheater. - So that is kind of just a perfect clip. I think I'll end up with a cheater, takes a sit. That's my girl. I hope not because then I've got another op. I'll use it for the art. - You always use it for the art, and thank you. So Hugh Grant had a very clear name in my house. He was beloved. It was him and Patrick Dempsey. My mom was horny at scenes for these guys. And we were Julia Roberts household. Runaway bride was huge for me. - We love Aaron Brockovich in my house. - Aaron Brockovich. - Ben's wedding. - Yeah, I mean, sorry. I spent so much of my childhood saying, you're never gonna be jealous. - You're never gonna be jealous. - Which is like, I can't believe I had seen all those, but oh, my exit is in reference to. - Huge. - I mean, that is Cameron Diaz, but it's the Julia Roberts multi-versa. - Permitive honor broker. What shattered her hip, line dancing and Abelene? - Yeah. - Anyway. - So there's this perfect rom-com, and they don't exist anymore. I'm sorry, I love that every rom-com that comes out, people are like, rom-coms are back, and then you watch it, and it's kind of the worst thing you've ever seen in your life. - It's bad, but I'm gonna say it was honored, you know that. - No, I know, and I think we could do it together if you'd only let me. - That's my plan. - And there's this one that exists that is so, it's just a perfect movie in every way. I assume every single person who's listening to this podcast loves this song. - He's seeing it. - Come on. But Hugh Grant works in a bookstore. They sell travel books, which I'm kind of like, Hugh Grant makes up to a hundred pounds a year. - A hundred pounds a year. - But hey, it doesn't matter. Love his flat with spike. I will just flag incredible ensemble cast. Just like fab everyone. I mean, the bits don't have to act, let's be real. - I mean, they invented Shakespeare. - Oh my God, such a good point. I mean, look where we are. - Yep. - They're learning. So, Julia Roberts stumbles in, and what's her name? - Anna Scott. - Anna Scott comes in, beret on. - Chanel beret. - Chanel, it's Chanel. - You were in Chanel beret. - Well, of course, she's a movie star. Chanel beret, little black sunnies. She walks into this travel bookshop. - Ooh, that's my drag name. Chanel beret. - Oh, perfect. - But it's still different. Sorry, I just thought that. - Daddy's tipping you. - It's with Yen. (laughing) So, everything she does, it's a political statement. Subversive. So, Anna Scott walks in, and she's like, I'm looking for a book, and Hugh Grant's like, we got more than that, I'm gagged for you, Anna Scott. - Yeah. - And she's just a movie star who just wants to be seen. She gets seen by this guy, and then she buys a book, and that's it, and you think, okay, that's it. Yeah, right. I also have to add, there's this actor who works in the bookshop with him, who has some of the best line delivery, and he's phenomenal. Every single person is firing on all cylinders. So, then Hugh Grant goes and gets an orange juice. He runs into Anna Scott again, in Notting Hill, and he spills it all over her top. Her tiny little white top. And he's like, I live nearby, if you want me to try it off for you. They go back, sparks fly. Okay, like, come on, she's falling for Hugh Grant. He's adorable. Also, she got paid so much for this, because it was a huge hit. Like, this was, this was a huge hit. - 20 million or something. - Yeah, it was like unbelievable. I think it was the most someone had ever been- - At the time. - Yeah. - Which it was just incredible. Okay, so, you know, I'm not gonna give too much away, but essentially, these two kind of fall for each other, and it's a, will they won't they? - It's a will they won't they? - From different worlds. She's like a Hollywood movie star. He runs a bookshop. Every single scene is sweet, thoughtful. The choice is made. There's one where she leaves for a while, and he doesn't hear from her, and they do like a season's passing as he goes through a market. - Ain't no such thing when Mary Beth goes. - I remember the scene where she has braids at the dinner. - A French braid at the dinner. - So you're gonna talk about the French braid and the kind of silk top, floral top that she wears when they go to the private part, and they hook up. - Yeah. - She wears that to a friend's dinner. - Yeah, because it's just lo-fi. - It's lo-fi, and she pulls up, and they go. - You're in a scot. - You're fucking in a scot. And he just brings her, and it's like what? - Yeah, it's just the girl I know. - Yeah, and oh my God, his sister in it is so fabulous. I love her. I got in trouble as a kid, 'cause after I saw it, I kept going, oh holy fuck. - Yeah, so my mom was like, that's funny, but you got to cut that, and I'm like, all right, well, I'm just giving you a perfect line read. You fucking bitch. - Sorry. - Yeah, don't take me to the movies then. - It's hard to even know where to start with this, but I'm seeing a lot of the places where they shot it throughout the gorgeous city. I think it just makes me miss those rom-coms, 'cause they such big budgets and the scripts were so sharp, and the movie stars were phenomenal, and it just felt you could feel the chemistry, the chemistry of the whole cast. It just didn't feel like, I don't know, everything feels like it's shot on some weird HD camera, and it looks like it feels like it was, yeah, it's just gone through too many notes or something. I don't know what's going on. - Yeah, well, the cast nowadays, too, are all just like algorithms spitting out like who would people most watch, I guess, instead of focusing on like, is the story good? Is the script good? Do they have chemistry? Is this something people can like latch on to? - And Julian Hugh, you're literally like, I believe that these two people, like, and if they don't end up together, and I'm not gonna give it away, but I would have burnt this city to the ground. - Yeah, the blitzkrieg. - The blitzkrieg again. This movie functions also as like a wish fulfillment thing, 'cause she is a huge celebrity, and it's like escapism in a way I was raised on rom-coms. - In a lot of ways, you were doing non-ahill, I mean, you were both actors. - But yeah, we did a little non-ahill from time to time. - Hey, sweetie, of course. - I know. I think back then they wrote these characters as real people with like emotional depth, and I think that's what I miss it, but that's what I'm missing in rom-coms today. It's like, the choices people make in rom-coms today, I'm just like, no person would ever do that, no person would ever behave that way, no person would ever talk like that, even the supporting characters. - Oh, the gay guys I've auditioned for in these movies are their monkeys. It's like actually, I'm like, no. - They set the gay rights movement back a lot of years. - I messaged back and I'm like, oh, I forgot to tell you I'm not an animal, but I know some animal trainers that would have great, great answers for this. - Yeah. - That aren't you gonna fuck him? Like that's literally the gay guys, and then I have to wear a tight shirt for it. - And a butt plug. - And I don't butt plug. - And you have to wear a butt plug. - Well, you have to wear a butt plug. - With a tail on it. And that's a big comedic reveal when the character turns. - Yeah, of course. - That he has a butt plug with a tail sticking out of his pants. - A fox tail. - It's a fox tail. - Yeah. - And he goes, oh, this. And then he goes, Yas mama. (laughs) - Oh, the parents aren't gag free yet? - Well, just like, I don't know, suck him again. (laughs) Sorry, I'm gonna circuit party. Like that's literally it. And it's like, okay, yeah, no, I love the, this is a really dynamic character. Every lead in them is always like, I'm just like so busy. - Right. - And that's like the main thing about them. They're just busy, they're busy for love. - But the issue is also budget. It's like something about people not going to the movie theater to see them, which I wonder what the shift is there? - But I don't think you need to have a huge budget to make an amazing rom-com. - I don't think so either. But I feel like this one has it 'cause you can feel how like, that's what I was saying about the choices, like where they shoot it, where the sets, everything is so grand in this. The movie stars of it all. Oh my God, there's this scene. Let me tell you, okay, so, oh, and Julie Roberts laugh. But they go to this private park after she slays at this dinner with his friends. It's such a powerful scene. - It's really awful. - I mean, watching someone slay at a dinner with friends. I mean, come on. in their lives.
like, you know, they're falling for her. They go to this private park, it's locked, they like climb up the. - 'Cause Anna scots down for whatever. - Well, she doesn't give a fuck. She's a movie star, but she's also like wearing Gap jeans. - It's just having fun. - She doesn't care. And so then she jumps the fence, and then he goes, and she gives him shit 'cause she's just like whatever. Yeah, and then he says, "Whoops, he daisies." And it's just, it's just wow. What a perfect film. I watched it again on a plane recently, and 'cause I hadn't seen it probably. Well, I watched it with my mom every week for a while, and my mom can see a movie 50 times. - Oh, there's movies I've seen hundreds times. - Yeah. - I actually don't think I saw Notting Hill until I was dating a British person. I watched it here in London for the first time. Yeah, it just was one that wasn't on my radar, and then once it was, no, I think I've seen it 10 times. - Blue you away. - Blue me away. Guess how much money you made at the box office? - How much? - 364 million. - God, that's incredible. - And that's like in 1999, too. - I remember going to the theater with my family, six years old, watching Fricking Hugh Grant, to take Julia Roberts to task. - Fine Notting Hill on streaming wherever. - Wherever. - Wherever. - I mean, it has like one of the most iconic scenes in film history. - Which one? - I'm just a girl standing for a little boy. - Yeah, oh my God, stop. It really hard. - I'm asking him to, that's just give me chills. - No, I know, she looks so cute. She's in the little blue sweater. - What's that meme that's like, I wanna be adored by millions perceived by nine and loved by one special boy. - Is that too much to ask? - It is for some of us. - I know, I know. Oh my God. - So Ron, comms I love. - If you love love actually, this is like, you're gonna get it. - Oh my God. - It feels like they all exist in the same universe. All those people are still, yeah. - Love actually Notting Hill. Serendipity is a really underappreciated one that I'm obsessed with on my God the holiday. And we're almost upon the season where I get to watch all of them. I have a crazy take on the holiday. I really like it wins that with the old guy. - Yeah, I know, I agree. - People don't really know that, but I'm like, that to me is chemistry. She's friends with Jack Black. - Right, but she's dating older guy. - Well, yes, she's an honor. - She's sex with the older guy. - Yeah, she's getting bent over. - Well, yeah, she's helping him get his legs bent. - She's grew fat. - Yeah. - I got a little exercise we could do. - Literally. - In the pool. I mean, they're literally in the pool together. - Yeah, I mean, come on. And she's like, she's such a baddie. Like, I just, those two have such good chemistry. They don't want them together. - She lost spray tan. - Oh my God. - Oh, wait, that moment, sorry not to bring up another perfect rom-com, but the moment where you think, Cameron Diaz is gonna leave, she doesn't, she's in that bar. But there's this moment and then someone passes and she's in the pub and she waves, she's in her little friggin' room. - The little moment of confusion when she shows up at the house and he has two daughters. - Hey, we've all been there. - The B-I-D-O-W-E-A. (laughing) Yeah, anyway. They love that napkin head thing. - Oh my God. - I'm like, as a kid, that wouldn't have made me laugh. (laughing) - Try again. - But what if it was you love it? - Yeah. I mean, him and Talenton Mr. Ripley is a shocking piece. - It's a shocking piece. - It's a shocking piece, angueness. - I know. - Jesus Christ. But yeah, Notting Hill, Julie Roberts, you're on notice. I think you've got it, sis. You've got that star power. - You see a lot for her, a bright future. - Oh, it's bonza, my love. - This is better for you versions of comfort foods. Pasta, pizza, mac and cheese, and waffles made from chick cheese, and you're gluten free. - They are really freaking delicious. I ate some from my knees, my knees was eating it, and you know when kids kind of like eat two bites, and you're like, "Give me that spoon. Let me take this to task." That's what I did. - Wait, they wrote a whole script for us. - Okay, should we do it? - Okay, holiday season is here, which means loved ones. So much food, you can't unzip your pants or zip them. - And everyone processing a lot. Seriously, I'm not looking forward to all the questions. - Wait, I love this script, you know what I mean? - For anyone falling through it right now, we see you. - Which is why a comforting plate of mac and cheese is basically emotional support of this big trucker. - Pass the pasta, please. - Ah, please. - And listen, for all my gluten free baddies out there, trying to survive Thanksgiving without getting interrogated, and without getting served as a sad machine noodle, we need to talk. - Let's face it, gluten free pasta has a problem. Trust me, I know it goes off too soon, it falls apart under pressure, and it can maybe be feeling unsatisfied. - Like, get out of here, Kate. - And you know where to stick it. - Get ruined, dude, cast a rule. - Wait, I don't have that many lines. I wanna talk to Bonza about this. I did a word count, and Mary Beth has more. - All right, well guess what? This pasta holds up in hot and steamy situations, and then you have a line right there. - Oh, curplunk, straight into the pot, like a confident king. - And honestly, with Thanksgiving leftovers blasting approximately seven businesses, you need a noodle that stays strong. They might ask you about your dating life, but at least they won't complain about the pasta. Because the only thing going limp and Thanksgiving should be the decorative inflatable turkey on the lawn. - Life's too short for limp noodles. (blows raspberry) (laughs) - Why become shots? Visit Bonza. - Visit eatbonza. B-A-N-Z-A.com, and use code ride. I check out for 50% off your first order of pasta or mac and cheese. That's eatbonza.com, and use code ride for 50% off your first order of pasta or mac and cheese. - Well, I know you're excited to talk about this episode being brought to by NoCD. - I wanna talk about NoCD. - Make sure this you're going about your day when suddenly a horrifying thought flashes through your mind. You know, actually, I've been working a lot lately and kind of stressed and traveling. So I find that I get more intrusive thoughts during that time, and I'm not like checking it with myself. - So I just want all of you to know that if you're experiencing them, hey, Benning drama's right here with you. If you're thinking to yourself, "I wanna kill Benning drama." No, you don't. I know that's ego-destonic, and it has nothing to do with what you actually wanna do. NoCD can be there to help, especially during the holidays. It can just be a lot. There's a lot of social interaction. There's a lot of pressure. So using exposure and response prevention therapy or ERP, the most proven NoCD treatment, your NoCD therapist can help you take the power away from NoCD and distressing thoughts and live face-to-face video therapy sessions. NoCD, we love working with you, and you truly helped me so much. And I think you're gonna help a lot of the bronies when my voice dip just notes, because Piki actually jumped directly on my Nut sack. So her intrusive thought was, I'm gonna jump on his Nut sack and she actually went through with it, but I know you've actually got that. - Don't cut it. I think everyone knows it's just a little joke. - So this week I'm writing for having regrets. And it's not that I ride for doing things in life that I regret. It's more that I just hear people say all the time, like, I have no regrets. And I'm like, that literally cannot be true. We've all done stuff that we wish we didn't do. And I know that like everything that's happened to me and every choice I've made has like gotten me here today to the Great British Library with Sydney and Benny. And just having been introduced to this amazing new character named Duddy. But I think that there's a few things I've done that I could have not done and I would still be right here. You know what I mean? - I completely agree. And I think also like, I think just knowing that you can have them, because everyone kind of forcing the having no regrets thing. I'm like, oh, well now I feel bad 'cause like I do have a few. - Oh, so my God, the conversations again, to talk about how weird people are towards single women and men too, but just my experience women. - Oh, oh, lately it's, I have this guy for you. - Can we, can we stop with the platitudes? I need to, I just need to be free of them for a while. - More catitudes less platitudes. - Because I got in kind of like a heated discussion with a friend of mine, 'cause I was saying like, I'm getting really comfortable with the idea of just being on my own. And maybe I won't meet the right person for me. And I need to like, I want to build a lifestyle that I want by myself, which is something I didn't think I would do. - And a Scott thought that too, and then she walked into a travel book shop. - Well, I'm in London, I'm going into every single bookstore that I'm passing by. - Oh, I keep going in. - And I'm asking, does Hugh Grant work here? - I keep going in with the beret and they go, we don't have what you want. - They said, yeah, we don't really see it. - Like, excuse me. - We don't serve you. We don't serve your kind here. You knocked that, you did knock that. - Fuck. - Oh my God, I knocked a full fucking smoothie. - Shit. - We'll get, we'll get to that later. So that's a regret you might have. So I actually fully regret that, Jimmy, I'm so sorry. I actually like that it's there. Just to anyone who saw that, I didn't mean it. - Maybe I did it. I don't think I did. - I didn't, there's absolutely no way. - So yeah, I just think when I'm presenting something about my life or my approach to being single or whatever it is, it's just like, I don't need you to come back to me with a different opinion, unless I'm actively seeking advice. So if I'm just saying, yeah, I need to get comfortable being on my own and if I meet someone great, and that's a bonus. But I don't want people to be like, well, you need to stop dating actors. You're not meeting the right people. It just annoys me because I'm like, no, I'm smart. I know that, and I'm totally open to dating a person that's not in the industry, but I just think it's like, it makes me feel like people don't think I can make good choices. And I'm like, no, I've literally made a lot of good choices. I've made some bad ones too. - Yeah. - But I'm just like, stop. - I think it's something of, I don't know if it's like strictly millennial, but there's something where people think they have to, like you have to have a take on something. The culture of like you need to have, I'm like, there are lots of things I just literally have not thought about and I do not care about. So I don't have a take. - Yeah. - And also I don't think I always need to be giving advice on something, especially when I know nothing about it or the context of what you've been with or what your experience is where I just think everyone feels like they need to.
and I felt that too in the past month or so where people are kind of like forcing something on me or telling me what I should be doing right now. - Or what the rules are. - Fuck your rules. I'm like, I don't want that. - I mean, I feel like in the gay community, it feels like there's a lot of these rules. - Oh my God, they're like, you must be freaking done. Crazy, yeah, yeah, yeah. - You need your whole face. Well, you better be right back. Well, we don't do it. It's just like, stop. - Meanwhile, I've got kids in my DM saying, get your ass back to that computer on Final Draft and finish season two. And I'm like, I'm trying. - You're on your way. - I'm trying. - We have to take-- - I'm trying, but your cousin's trying to set me up with this random fucking guy. I don't want to do that. - No. - So less advice, unless asked for. - You know, on my eighth grade yearbook quote was, - Oh, I can't wait. - It was the seal ball and she said, I'd rather regret the things I have done than the things I haven't. - That's beautiful. - So, yeah, I'm making choices and sometimes they're wrong. And I can admit when I have her, right? - It just came late, you know, COVID. - Yeah, what is it called, time release? You had time release, goosebumps. I just-- - Jimmy laughing is key. - No, I'm so glad he's here. - He's so, I love him. He's so cute. - 'Cause when Jackson's on with us, he is behind a huge computer screens. We can't even see when he's laughing or anything like that. - Well, he's only laughing at me saying, but I know, but I just think that idea of like, yeah, you shouldn't have regrets. It's like, no, I do. I have some recent ones too. I'm just like, oh, I wish I didn't do that. Sometimes you have to make the same mistakes so many times to just learn from it. - I so hear that. I just sit on my cheek and it really wasn't as it, just at it. - Yeah, and it's gone, which your skin looks really good today. - Thank you so much. I think I have found the culprit, but I will say, I want to shout out this one company because it really has helped me so much. So it's called Saving Face Company. I just ordered five bottles. So if you even tried a fucking sell this out, good luck. - No, they're all at my apartment waiting for you. - They're all at your apartment. But Saving Face Co. It's by this nurse practitioner. She's an incredible job. She has type two rosacea and peri-oral dermatitis. And it's this sulfur face wash and this amazing moisturizer and they have helped so much and it lasts. Every single thing in my life is like, do less, except write the show. - I can't even like, shop. - You know. - I can barely shop and run it. - I know. - And like, that's how Julia looked like. I don't get it. She was just mosey around nodding hell. - I need to be going into more bookshops. - Fuck, I do too. - You like my shirt? - So we are wearing our merch. We're excited. We think it's better quality than the last run. Merch is tricky. We always spend too long on it. I will say also, we were already in production when come on curplunk happens. So there will be a come on curplunk. - That's going to be a limited edition. - That's going to be a limited edition later. - Later. - And we're going to find something fun to do with that one. - Yeah. - We're going to have like a donation. - We're going to invent a new product. - Yeah, it's, oh my god. - And it's going to be a fundraiser. - Exactly. - We can't make it. - We can't make it. - Come on. - Fuck. - That's genius. Alright, we actually have to get to work on that. - Yeah. - Come on, curplug. - See how quick I'm firing right now. It's Duddy. - Shuddy's brought me back. - So you didn't ride or die? - Of course. - You know what you are, Benny? - Hmm. - A fuck. - Your word's not mine. Babe, you're my rider, die. - Ride or die? - So I ride for Notting Hill, of course. - Thank you. - I think it's a fabulous romcom. I think. - Hey, can I say something to you? - Yes. - And definitely. - And definitely. - That's just a little easter egg. - Should we watch it tonight? I guess it's the only question. - Yeah, I could watch it any day. And then I skipped through some of the parts that make me sad. But oh my God. I'm such a great scene about press. - Mm-hmm. - You know what I'm talking about? It just as all the writing is so good. - Well, I feel like back then, the way they did scripts was like every line is an opportunity. And now it feels like not that so much anymore. Except for, of course, our show that we're in color, we're compensating. - Really love season two. It's like really like. - It's pulling up my heartstrings. - I will say I'm feeling a lot. - I'm feeling a lot too. - Feel everything. Should I tell them the slogan for season two or no? - No, don't spoil. This is how I know how much you love this season. You keep wanting to tell everyone. - Everyone at every dinner. I'm like, do you want to know? - Marketing, character, everything. I'm like, let's just wait. - Did I show you the marketing? You already showed you what I want to do. It's all in my love. - It's all happening. - It is all happening. God, I have so many calluses though. - From all your lifting. - I am, yeah. Beast mode activated. That's like one of the lines I say is the gay best friend in a rom-com. I actually have to say I thought I was gonna die for having regrets because I'm like, you know what, bloom more planet. - Totally. - But I think it's fine. I think to have them is fine and to understand that you don't need to feel terrible about them, but that you learn from them, I think is kind of beautiful. I'm being like, I probably wouldn't do that again. - Yeah. - And I have a regret of that. I think minor always like maybe a miscommunication or saying something that I should have said. And those I feel fine to have regrets and it's, I've learned to feel less terrified of being honest or saying the thing that I really wanted to. So I'm right there with you. And I just, God, what a great girl. I mean, you're just a total sweetie pie. - Sweet. Yeah, I think. - So sorry about the smoothie, but. - No, it's okay. - It's a part of the carpet now, Jimmy. - Actually, what's interesting is it's not seeping in, but what I was gonna say that I forgot and then I just remembered, it's not seeping in, is that if you wanna embrace this idea of having regret and learning from it, I would say, and I've talked about this before, Jessica Simpson's book. One of the things I loved about it was how open she was about like, she took some else that were like self-inflicted. And I think I found that to be so like, it was just so human, but like also foreign for a celebrity to human. For a celebrity to acknowledge their else, I think I just hadn't seen that as much. It's like they all wanna paint this perfect picture, but we are all so flawed and I just thought it was really refreshing to read that. - And sometimes you have to work through those feelings to know like how you ultimately wanna think about something and categorize it, but I've had things I've regretted and then later down the line, I realized I didn't regret them. - I regret making Britney videos. - Yeah. - I wish I had never had. I had no idea what she was going through and I would have never made them. So I feel like that's also something too of like, yeah, I literally, I wish I had never made those videos. And I'm glad I took them down, but I'm like. Sometimes you do stuff that you, yeah, at first you don't regret and then down the line you're like, oh, I shouldn't have done that. Or I wish I didn't do that. - When you have context, I wish I never rode for the woman on the plane. I didn't know she would mag on my ass. - You never could ever predict something like that. - Of course I regret that. - Of course. - I think about that episode every day in my life. - So Baronees, let us know your biggest regrets on the Reddit if you feel comfortable or just curious what you're regretting these. And one day, yeah. - All of them go having kids. - Having kids for sure. I will definitely, when I write a memoir, there will be a few chapters on my regrets for sure. - One being, I walked into this bar. - Our wicked lady. - I met this gay guy in New York. - He proceeded to make the full of me's on TV. Made me wear wig. - How cute is my hat? - I love it. - It's got a little leather strap in the back. - Jimmy asked for it and I said, Jimmy, it's mine. - Jimmy, you can't have it, I'm sorry. - Beautiful, fly, hot and sexy. - We're gonna clean up this smoothie. - Whoopsie daisies. (upbeat music) - Oh, my accent. - Any babe, eyes on the road. (screaming) - There you go! (upbeat music) - Rye, rye! - Please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services.
