Not My Best Week... (But I'll Take It!) | Mounjaro Update (EP35)

The podcast covers developments in GLP-1 weight loss medications, including their potential use for pets, with a trial called "Meow Pilots" exploring treatments for overweight cats. It highlights a severe disparity in access within the NHS, where only a small fraction of eligible Londoners receive these drugs. Additionally, new analysis indicates that such medications could be produced for approximately $3 monthly, which may improve affordability as patents expire in many countries. The host also shares personal updates about the podcast's format, inviting listener feedback on new elements like a couch setup and background music, and seeks advice from those experienced with maintenance after weight loss treatment. The episode concludes with shout-outs to international listeners and a discussion on future content focusing on maintenance strategies.

A ZMPIC for pets? Could GLP1 medication be made for just $3? A shocking example of the postcode lossy from an GIro and a FF? Plus we have a much needed catch up on maintenance. All this was coming to you and my weekly update and results. Welcome back to the Filderable L podcast and as we usually do let's dive straight on into the waffle section. Now I'm going to keep it the same as I did last week and add the news up front so I'm going to dive straight on into that first story I mentioned in the intro there and I was not joking. It is a ZMPIC or GLP1 medication for pets. Now I got onto this story thanks to Heidi over in New Jersey in America and she mentioned that her vet had just told her that GLP1 medication was on its way for pets and there was trials on going. So I actually did a little bit of research which led to me to a story in the Guardian this week. So basically she said that it's in pilot in the US right now the studying GLP1 included would go even in GIro and ZMPIC on cats. There's apparently 54 and a half thousand diabetic cats in the UK many more already in your own treatment anyway. So Meow Pilots which stands for management of overweight cats they use in the M and the E in management to make that Meow work. It's a really stretchy to that one but yeah to torture that for them I know they're really going for it there but it basically it's a GLP1 drug that mimics the hormone and slows digestion and as we know about this myself put the intestine in and try and not cat. It's going to be around a hundred dollars a month which is a lot of money but obviously people love the pets very much. Yeah it's just a new way of these drugs being used to reduce overweight cats and dogs and who knows what potential in the future. So once you keep an eye on there but yeah if you've got an overweight cat or dog potential in the future you might be able to help them. I think the story will try to aim towards would it make them more miserable because obviously the cat and dog doesn't know that you're telling it not to eat and you let it come from out of the dog or the cat eating and you're like we do. Yeah I'm not sure about what to make of that it helps the cat and the pets and the dogs and makes them happy and makes you happy and I'm all for it. So yeah that is good to know though that the more of us that lose weight we can also bring our pets along for this journey with us. Moving on now we're going to the post-code lottery that I've mentioned a few times recently with the NHS and the different areas and the different boards that come with different types of rules but we've got actual some real statistics here from London and the story is from the London Assembly Health Committee which is in London not surprisingly and in their report published on the 11th and 26th they warned that a two tier system for weight lost drugs like Mungioran with Govy is couldn't lead not working. The committee found that while roughly 500,000 Londoners so half a million Londoners are eligible for these treatments only around 3,000 receiving treatments as of November 2025. So I don't know what percentage on that I'm sure one of you clever people could leave that down below but that's a shock and figure when you consider that half a million people at L even just 3,000 would get in it as of November last year. And then obviously the story then goes on to point out that there's a huge need for this and it's grossly under service and then be gone for mention about the 18,000 illegal pens that were found late last year and the year before which got up to not until it was totally the only thing I wanted to click so and it worked because I've mentioned it and seen it in Reddit too and passed that on to you guys but yeah 3,000 out of half a million what do you think about that? I mean I know we've had this conversation before and I think it's absolutely shocking and you know my opinion is that I believe everyone needs it should be able to get the hands on it and they think it's a shock and figure like just 3,000 half a million have got actors to it in a particular part of London. So hope it gets moved up and speed it on and we get more and more people on it as soon as possible which leads me nicely into the next story now which is to do with could these medications be made for as little as $3 each. And this story comes from the Guardian again this week who are hot so they seem to be really quite a lot of stories actually what a lot of the story they seem to tell you seems to come from the Guardian so whether they've got a really good department on their cover or they just know it's a really hot topic and they're on top of things there. Much of this story in the Guardian said that basically weight loss jobs such as wagovie could be made for just as little as $3 per month. Now that's according to new analysis and obviously would make the treatment available to millions more around the world which would be fantastic and the blaming stuff like the rates in most countries rising really fast and people who are kind of forward are just turning to junk food and quick food as fast as possible and that is driving the beastie up. They're obviously a flip side that people can afford it that is driving the beastie as well. As you go the story goes on to mention that the who said that a beastie is now a faction, the z's and things like that but yeah they're saying that new research published in a pre-print suggests semi-glue type which is obviously wagovie could be mass to produce for just as little as $3 per month or $2.35 a month and that's in its injectable form as well. That's not in the tablet form which we know has been released recently and got quite a bit of rules now. But one of the authors of Dr Andrew Hill of the Liverpool University of Pharmacology Department said the low price that would open the doorways to well-wide access to the essential medicine. The research found that the core patterns on semi-glue type would do to expire in 10 countries including Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Turkey, Mexico, Canada and the 20 first of March as of recording just six days away which is going to open the floodgates to the generic phase which we mentioned a couple of videos now. They also said there's another 150 countries where patterns had not even been filed including most of Africa. Those 160 countries alone are home to 69% of people with two type 2 diabetes, 84% living in obesity. Now one thing in this story that I didn't really like was the fact that they don't explain how it could be made for those at those three days and one for me. I'm assuming they just took the what's in the medication and the manufacturing process and maybe look at similar medication as well and worked out how that could be produced for as little as $3 a month. If you get down to that even if it took like what 100% mark and that is $30 or whatever. $30 a month is still making a hell of a lot of profit on just $3 a month. You know they need to drive the price down as much as they can because the more people can get onto this the more better. I'm wondering if they're a little bit scared. I wonder if they think that we get rid of all the obese people on the market we need anymore when we got one cany-money. I can kind of understand if I'm business sense but there's always something new. There's different versions of this coming out. I genuinely believe the staff is something bigger potentially. I don't want to put a tim for a path on a book. As we mentioned before they look into things like gambling, alcoholism and things like that and reducing that. It's not going to be far off before we can start tweaking all little things in the brain. You take a pill for this and a pill for that and it does sound like some sci-fi movement not to this in the future. But this is I think the first pathway onto that. We're doing that little medication as it is anyway but yeah I think maybe hopefully we'll be able to take one to not drink alcohol you may be able to take one to make your sleep bang on eight hours. That kind of thing that sounds bit silly because it actually can build but you can't control that part. I think you know what I'm trying to get out there. This is the start of medication that will be able to alter people's brains in all sorts of fantastic ways. Let's hope that the prices continue to decrease and like I said no hard facts on how they do that but the research showed it could be done for as little as $3. Let's hope that is the shape of things that come with prices starting to drop drastically and you know $3 a month to manufacture you wouldn't care if you might have dropped the $30 a month you're quite happily paying that. You know that's a lot. She was in what we're currently paying now. I don't like the idea that we go. We pill where you know it's you've got to take out an empty stomach before me. I also want to be pill it's going to be a pill whenever I want to take it during the day. If not I'd be happy to stick with the injection once a week even get down to the 30-50 parmar. I'd be more than happy with that. But now that I want to move on to comments from you a lot and I want to try something a little bit different this week and I will see how it goes and if it doesn't work we'll revert back next week but yeah I want to try something a little bit different. Welcome to my couch. Not my couch, our couch. Our couch. Our couch I've put in here recently after we've decorated. Anyway, I thought this might be a little bit more comfy a little bit more cozy for me to sit back relax and there's something I've wanted to do for a while since I've tried the Phil Double Zero channel. It just feels much more natural just to sit here and chat away to your while sat on the couch as opposed to sat on the desk. I think the idea of what I'm planning on doing is doing the new section from there each week and then coming over here for the chat and the comments and my update from the couch just because it's much more easier. There's going to be an extra little bit as well that's going to be a second over there. Hello, the new camera but that will get to that later. It's something I've wanted to do for a while since I've done the Phil Double Zero channel and you didn't really have anything to do since you've got this couch here and there's a tele there and now I'm a desk over there and I've moved back down from there. Let me know what you think about this going forward. If you'd like me to sit on the couch and have a little chat and keep it here, I could do the whole thing for me if you want to but I like doing the news bit over there. It feels a bit more official. It feels a bit more professional. It just feels something anyway. What is here? Hopefully you'll feel a little bit more relaxed, a little bit more chilled. You know, I can be born myself and I'll just sat down and relax and that's what I've found with the Phil Double Zero channel which I just felt a bit more natural. I thought I could just sat down and be off this year where I spent five days a week just liking what I'm doing. And then another little thing, let me know what you think about the background music. Yep, the background music in here right now. Thought I'm just adding that in as well. It's another little tweak, another little change. It's something I've been meaning to do for a while again. I just want to try and improve these videos now as we go. I'm really enjoying making these. I want to try and get them a little bit better as you've seen from the show. I tried to do this week. It just went a little bit different. Like I said, the planet keeps the weekly updates like this which I like to go to tweaking but it's going to be at my desk and here. So background music, let me know what you think. You might be thinking what background music Phil or God's in and off is absolutely doing me headed. Let me know down in the comments below what you think about the changes and we'll see where we go from now the next few weeks. So let's get into the comments then. Now I'm over here no comfy and there's a slight issue because so many of you responded to the one year anniversary which I'll get back to in a bit. There was many comments to go through this week. So I thought what I'd do is I should pick out a few and I've not done it for a long time. If those have been following the channel since the early days you remember one of the biggest things I still love now is reading where you're commenting from which place you're listening to me in whether it be this country and somewhere else which blows my mind and there's the fact that people listen in different countries and different continents which is absolutely mind blowing. And to get into that I'm going to start with as far pretty much as you can be from where I am now in Liverpool England and that is to Carol who's listening all the way from Australia. Literally probably as far away as you can get from me right now. Carol just dropped the best you would give it weekly, not a weekly hair, losses to go in the one year anniversary video. She's lost a fantastic four stone and twelve pound carol so congratulations on that unbelievable loss. I have other that as a list and it's huge list for that one year anniversary video. Congratulations to you. Carol all the way in Australia. We've been on there next to somewhere a little bit close to home and we've got Michiko Portugal. I'm assuming Michiko is in Portugal. I didn't actually think about that. I just in the name but remember I did see he said I love from Portugal but Michiko has, she is far for ten and a hundred and thirty pounds now and that's after losing a stagger and fifty five pounds of four potential. Congratulations. Congratulations Michiko from Portugal. I'm finally all I've already mentioned you once this episode and don't need to look at my phone for this one because it is Heidi all the way over in New Jersey in America. Heidi you've been really active in the comments for a long time. You have some really good tips and advice. We have some good chats and I really thank you for your support. We've got Cadill over in Australia. We've got Michiko in Portugal and we've got Heidi over in America. That just is stagger into me. Thank you so much for everyone who does follow and put in the air. It wasn't meant to be turned into this but yeah it is just mind blowing when they look at who follows me and where exactly you follow me from. Just want more very quick on me for moving on now and it's based on the rain mentioning about my setup on my video recently. Not by everyone to go by any means of the rain. So you went having to go which in case anyone thought you were you just saying that you set up really annoyed you last week and it does meet to the rain points up the photos now after the side. It's not in the middle anymore. Reason being as I said I moved from that and the extension down to here and that photo will look the sign ever and get with the pictures of bulls and on. It's now slightly after the left because there's a fuse box there and I have to take the back of that off to get my photo on the wall full stop but to stop has been able to see the fuse box. It is now covering there. I annoyed me to the rain. It probably annoys so many of you. There's a few other things that lined up this week but that's yeah that's just the way it's going to be going forward. I'm afraid unless I bring the hole we could look a little bit over here and as was it Julia said last week my constant most regular thing is that I say I'm going to do something and then change it the next week and you know there could be somewhere else. I want to get out and about because as you've seen from if you saw my short this week I bought a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 which is over there. It's just that you can see exactly how this is all set up and exactly how I do these videos now by putting that over there and I'm going to be using that more in like the weekly update I might have the two angles so I can come back and this is a bit weird and I feel a bit like was it and deaf used to do this on Saturday take away. All the geez have been not in the UK you won't know exactly who or what that is but yeah I've got the two setups now and that DJI Osmo has been used to do some more like you know more in interesting videos not that the update's not interesting I love this section and I love doing these weekly updates but I have to do more up and about not just sitting at my desk. I really really really enjoy making these YouTube videos and it's not what I would love to go further into I'm not good enough by any means to make it into a career and like that's a lot of a 95 job but I yeah I'm not a fan of my 95 job these days shall we say so but it pays the bills and yeah I am looking at trying to improve the just for more fun for you guys laying with new skills for yourself and who knows what might happen five years down the line although I've been nearly 50 then and that's terrifying that's terrifying both of you that is terrifying. Let's move on to one final bit then I think it's for the waffle section this week and it is what I want to have a little chat about and it is maintenance maintenance is becoming really a big thing not on this channel but if it all of us and in general because we all didn't know what we were getting ourselves into what we knew it was that's the wrong thing. We all went to other journeys we're gonna go we were all bit dubious or at least I was the beginning whether it works so well for me and it has I'm not where I want to be just yet but I know maintenance is in the future and I know a lot of you have already reached it or you're coming up to and you're worried you've been asking me for advice and it's one thing I can't help on because I'm not there myself so what I'm gonna ask and I'm not gonna cover it anymore in this video and potentially my hope into the plan is next week's of the video mainly on maintenance and a week after will probably be the one year anniversary video for that update there's gonna be other videos I've got a supplement one in the pipeline as well which is gonna be done on you so you're gonna be doing that and we're gonna be up and about and who knows what's gonna go on that video and I'll go to bad that might be. If we're maintenance I need your help I need everyone who is in maintenance or has gone through it and you're even out of maintenance now can you give everyone some tips and advice and what you found was useful what you thought wasn't useful how you did it anything that you might think is useful and I put together a load of comments for next week and that'll be a really heavy comments video next week or I'll touch on a little bit of light news and we'll do a long section of comments and it'll be all from all you helping me and helping everyone else to understand what could benefit them and what might help them going forward in the future with maintenance and maybe because I'm gonna need that. It's not something to share with you yet and that's not something I'm definitely setting concrete as Judith's had a genuine all-time I think my original goal I've mentioned a few times last year was 14 stone I don't think I'm gonna get to that I'm getting comfy in my body at the moment's not where I want to be I'm gonna be I'd love me like to get thinner I don't think they ever will I've always had a tranquillaggy even understand but I'm thinking about that goal might be 14 stone and I'm thinking about coming off one gyro in the near future as opposed to the longer future because I'm getting happy I've had some lovely comments what you say and I'm looking slumber and slimmer and I do feel like the weight's not coming off it as much as anticipated to do this the second time around but I do feel like everyone's gonna have a new wardrobe again soon this used to be skin tight it's like a an underarm loose top and it's really bagging loose now and the same for most of my jeans again I have to get another set of jeans and things like that so things are getting loose and I know my own fault for not measuring inches and I should have put them to be and like that's all coming off as opposed to the weight so yeah waffling on there still no off-suction that is allowed isn't it but yeah I hope you can all get as many comments and tips in advice and for maintenance next week and I'll do a really heavy comment section on maintenance with all tips and advice and do's and don't some more use that be fantastic leaving the comments down below thank you very much and why you are there don't forget and I've mentioned a few times in this video keep leaving your loss your total overall loss join your journey any other you still on it or you've now finished you got to where you want your total loss and I've got I've been taught in that up you've already left it don't leave it again because you're gonna end up just inflating the figures even further yeah you've not already lost left your weight loss leave it in the comments below and I am doing a special section on the one year anniversary of this channel I'm gonna put all our weight together thanks to the rain suggestion and give us a grand total of what the community has lost altogether on one jar of so as well as your maintenance of your in that and if you've not already leave your weight total manjar or weight loss down in the comments below or gelp you on the nothing manjar or gelp you on weight loss in the comments down below thank you very much let's move on though now to my weekly update but as always if you haven't already please subscribe like and hype the video it really does help us just channel out to everyone else and also don't forget that if you want to listen to the podcast on Spotify Amazon music app on podcast or any other stream and so as we can get podcasts there's a link down in the description below to do that and let's move straight on into my diet for this week now it's not being absolutely fantastic it's been an okay week for the most part over the last week I've eaten out twice and take away what the soundbub but the food I ate wasn't too bad we ended up the pub of remember last week's update I mentioned I ended up in a pub for tea it was an impromptu made the missing the kids just went for a pub lunch that pub lunch a pub when did a pub for our tea that night I'm still struggling and I would just dip breakfast in and say that's what I have represented I'm still struggling with it but yeah on the Wednesday night the following ended up in the pub because we visited such we go for some sweets and we have no fridge the family so we did we went to the bootlamps which not too far away from me which is a normal standard pub and the the kids got a big fat ice cream and everything but I had a sheesh come up it was like it was like a kabab I came with rice and chips and on a on a on a wrap and I ate the meat and the wrap and I give the fries to the kids and I ate about half of the rice so it wasn't terribly even though we had out because that was the only time I was planning on eating out but almost I'm 14 it's not unfortunate or I we ended up with no kids on Saturday night which meant again my partner said should we just go out just to do is that had nothing for ages either so we decided to go out for something to eat ourselves and we ended up at a place called Duman which again is an entry not too far from me here and Duman is like a Turkish restaurant they've got big massive open grill with a koho la meat fresh and for none because it's huge restaurant but you know you see the smokes going everywhere and smells fantastic you walk in I will put a picture on the sharing kabab that we got which there's lots of protein there but I don't think the calories are great I'm not sure if it's cooked in any little way any sources or maybe the ribs did the ribs chicken wings and lamb chops and there's a lot of protein I didn't eat any either two wraps and I get to spoon full or two of the rice so just a lot of meat there, not sure if it was healthy or not sure if it wasn't but yeah I enjoyed that again on satinite then again we had a takeaway on another night and it's time I got a chicken kebab and I did eat the wrap off this one and it did have garlic mayo on so that was bad so yeah it's been a bad week food the rest is my usual I had a hew old shake two mornings I've had boiled eggs and built the built on I like built the built on the right and what's it called that for what's called for bj for dinner's the two times I was in work I didn't have any hew old so that was a lie I didn't have hew old I had that instead that's what I had two boiled eggs and and bj for dinner both days in work and even meals as being part of the three take away what take out has been two different salads chicken and rice was the another night yet so chicken and rice on the nights back to the old they were all three done in the air fryer really low calorie so yeah not a fantastic thing was the diet brought some tasty food there for the change exercise though has not helped exercise they have done absolutely not an all week apart from walked around the office twice and went on a couple of walks with the family ran apart and stuff on the sat day this week so three walking days you're a cleared I think a cleared about 13 15 and 15 thousand steps over three days and in the three four days I was at home very busy in work and creating a fun little youtube show for you all to watch we did so yeah not great food not great exercise drink and I've not covered this and I have stopped the fellow busier which I failed I had four cans of Guinness on the satinite as well so it is not being a good week for me I'm not gonna use the excuse that works being extremely stressful which it has but yeah I did fold but I felt like I was missing out I did nine months last time didn't feel like that really at all till towards the end I didn't even did it because I'm going to know it was a holiday but this time I felt like yeah I felt like I was missing out and I just wanted to drink so I did and then I woke up feeling tired and the third I just can sleep me and I looked at me whoop and you gum and then they told me that it's terrible night to sleep and I felt cramp all day and I generally sat there the whole day feeling miserable and why didn't I do that why didn't I have those drinks they made didn't make the night any better watching the film I watched I felt cramp all day to be completely honest that was satinite I didn't feel myself against it about Wednesday and I'll be honest again I think that's me done I genuinely do I didn't see that I said to my partner she'd never been a fan of me heavy binge drinking in the past the night I think that's done a genuinely thing I'm done with drinking the night was no better you know it made me feel cramp for several days after I know you'll always have 24 cans for you to get over the night of the day I just felt rubbish I didn't think I'd had two solid months of waking up great feeling great never feeling tired plenty of energy and then for the next couple of days I was like just total me for a couple of days me that's also my side as what's the point I hope that might be real last time I drink but anyway never say never and yeah drink a drink at S take away and I've had no exercise it's gonna be lots of people voting in the comments this week dose then and I'm still on 2.5 and there'll be five days that's going nice and easy as Julia said though I'm probably gonna change there has been a slight little focus and I'm wondering whether that's where the Guinness came in is at the first side of it I've never been chocolate or anything like that but you know I am starting to think I don't know if it's working as well as time round or lower I'm losing weight but I feel like I'm just using my own willpower more does that make sense am I or is it working I've been on it that long now partners also not keen on me staying on it much longer but yeah I've ended up not having a place planned for this video and there's a lot of thinking going on as I'm thinking out loud and talking to you and that's really good about these things come out to me that I'm not sure but yeah anyway 2.5 milligrams every five days I might go to five milligrams every five days and the next week or two or maybe three it's not desperate I don't feel I know how to do this it's my turn to bring thousand myself so much this time round but anyway yeah two per five milligrams every five days is working for now weekly results then and after three nights about food four kinds of Guinness no real exercise and a part rage in a pear tree what has that done to my weekly results then let's find out so last week I was 16 stone seven and I've had that really bad week so I was expecting the scales not to be fantastic but do you wear you wear in a sense that I am now 16 stone seven it's a maintenance week it's a good week especially after everything I've just said everything I don't eat drank not exercise you know I do think without the monjaro in my system I would have ate all this stuff I know that for a fact and I probably would have put on a couple of pounds this week so to have a maintenance week after all that I think is a fantastic result and I am really really really happy with that now I just want to say if you did fan as weeks update useful then please hit the like button and just a final reminder to subscribe like and hype and don't forget to leave your maintenance tips for everyone else if you're in there or you've been through it and don't forget to leave your one yeah and I've actually weight loss so whatever you've lost over your time so I can include that in a video in a few weeks that will be it for this week's update stay strong I hope you have a fantastic week keep going you will get to where you want to go and all that's left for me to say is if I can do this You can do this, we can do this, I'll see you next week, bye for now.

FAQs

ZMPIC or GLP-1 medication for pets is a drug that mimics hormones to slow digestion, helping reduce weight in overweight cats and dogs. It is currently in pilot studies in the US, with a cost of around $100 per month.

The postcode lottery refers to unequal access to weight loss drugs like Wegovy across different NHS areas. For example, in London, only about 3,000 out of 500,000 eligible people were receiving treatment as of November 2025, highlighting significant under-service.

According to new analysis, drugs like Wegovy could be manufactured for as little as $3 per month in injectable form. This low cost could make treatment accessible to millions more people worldwide, especially as patents expire in many countries.

GLP-1 medications may pave the way for treatments targeting other conditions like gambling or alcoholism by altering brain functions. This represents a broader potential for medications to adjust behaviors and improve health in various ways.

Meow Pilots is a study focused on managing overweight cats using GLP-1 drugs. It aims to help the approximately 54,500 diabetic cats in the UK by reducing their weight through hormone-mimicking medications.

The host plans to split the podcast into two sections: news delivered from a desk for a professional feel, and a casual chat from a couch for a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. They also introduced background music and seek listener feedback on these changes.
