NFL Week 2 News: Major Injuries, Backfield Changes & Fantasy Fallout (Ep. 2197)
38m 2s
The tailgate podcast highlights major NFL injury updates affecting team strategies and fantasy projections. Lad McConkey’s rib injury and absence from practice for the Chargers signal a significant offensive vulnerability, especially as he was a cornerstone of their early-season plan. Similarly, RJ Harvey’s hamstring injury and Flowers’ non-practice status raise concerns about the Raiders’ wide receiver depth. Aaron Jones is poised to take on more touches with Jordan Mason sidelined, boosting his fantasy value despite concerns about workload sustainability. The Raiders’ new offensive approach under Kubiak, featuring creative running back usage and a strong passing game, is seen as promising but remains to be tested against tougher defenses. Key developments include the Chargers’ offensive instability, the 49ers’ devastating loss of Deshawn Stribling (out for 10 weeks), and the ongoing Josh Jacobs situation, where a sealed video has delayed resolution, potentially leading to a six- to eight-game suspension. The podcast also emphasizes fantasy implications, urging listeners to monitor these injuries and team adjustments. A special giveaway is promoted for subscribers, offering a chance to win a Todd Gurley-signed Rams jersey. The hosts stress the importance of staying engaged through the tailgate YouTube channel for real-time updates, fantasy insights, and game reactions, with a focus on the upcoming Week 2 matchups and injury narratives.
This is an "I Heart" podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hi, this is Kylie Breakman, Angel Jaritana. Jeremy Colhane, Patrick McDonald. And we're the hosts of the artist on artist on artist on artist podcast. The improvised character comedy podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? Hi, he winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you get the almost here. The eyelashes hate each other. You never seen Italy so quiet. As when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artist on artist on artist every Thursday on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up tailgates on? Well, it's Andrew Erickson. We were just vibing because this is the tailgate live where we take a little 30 minute break out in the middle of the week. Potentially react with some of our people and go through the top five stories. It's a pickup because we've got breakdowns early in the week here on tailgate. We've got previews later in the week on tailgate. And this is a chance for me and Erickson. We were vibing out if there was only a behind the scenes video. We were just sitting back there with the live stream pre music. We were just straight vibing and we're ready to get into some big topic. So Erickson, what's up, brother? Piling away at the week two ranks. Articles bedding side just wrapped up the bedding pros primer for lions in bills. Which should be a absolute barn burner of a match up, although I'm probably going to skimp out on picking sides and just bet the bills team total. I think that's kind of the maneuver I'm looking at because lines have some offensive line issues. Two more guys are injured. One of their starting tackles is going to be out. One of their guards that got hurt last week is going to be out on the road short week. And this is a trend that I always think about when it comes to the bedding side of things is teams playing on a short week off overtime. It's not good. It is very, very bad on those specific teams. So I think that I do pick the side of probably like the bills. They're unveiling their brand new stadium, which to the stage. See, the thing is we were robbed of what we could see from Josh Allen last week every week. Buffalo, why did you build the dome? If you built the dome, you could have got the Josh Allen dome experience every single week instead. We got to deal with the snow, not really not in week one, but or week two. But, you know, can't have nice things all the time. Well, I love that. My favorite version of Erickson, because I just point out here in the tailgate, we're going to have fun with it. We can talk fantasy. We can talk bedding. We're talking real NFL. We're picking up stories and I'm a tangent guy. I like me some Erickson tandem. I want us to go into places and we got to be careful about that. When we're on fantasy pros and we got to get people the nuts and bolts and we got to get ranks and stuff like that. But I'm a minutia guy. I want to get into it and we are going to get into it. We've got some stories that we're going to be locking in that some really fresh ones that have happened into today. Feel free. We've got some of our boys in here. Metal James is in here. We got people hanging out. You can interact with us. Let's talk some football. We've obviously going to probably want to talk about fantasy stuff. But you're welcome to talk wherever you want. That's what we're here for. Make sure you guys are subscribed on YouTube. Go and find it YouTube comm slash tailgate NFL. Make sure you guys are locked in with us on the YouTube side. I don't want you to miss anything and make sure you're on the podcast. Be around, subscribe, win some stuff. Oh, by the way, how about we just talk about that before we get into our first topic. Would you like to win a Todd Gurley signed Rams Jersey? Yeah, I think you would. So here is your chance. All you've got to do is subscribe to the tailgate YouTube channel. Do it right now. Drop a comment on any of the videos on the tailgate. And that is it. And guess what? We've got almost 300,000 followers on fantasy pros and we do giveaways. We ain't there here on the tailgate. Incredible opportunity. So come and hang out. Subscribe to the channel. Do it. Do it. Do it. Make a comment and subscribe. And you could potentially win this Todd Gurley autograph jersey. Because I want you guys to win some cool stuff. What's up, boys? I see some good questions in here. We got boom, boom, boom, boom. Beautiful. We're going to get into all the nuts and bolts and the stuff and things. But remember, we got Sal behind the ones and twos. That's going to be hanging out with us. So Erickson, let's jump into some topics here. And then we are going to be waiting for to interact with you guys in the chat. So keep dropping your questions and we'll be starring them. But the biggest pickup news for today. There's actually a couple three big injury pieces. One of them is Lad McConkey. Lad McConkey was bonked out of like the graphic was bonked out of the game a little bit on Sunday came back. Well, we're finding out that the injuries a lot more serious that he's got this rib injury. And he wasn't practicing today. And it was serious enough that the chargers went out and made some moves. And they brought in Marcus Valdez scantling. So usually picking up a player. I know they got some other injuries as well. But like picking up, you know, some new receivers is a sign that this is going to be a problem. We talked about this on the ranked show as far as Quinn Johnson. But where do you think we lie here? No practice for Lad McConkey here on Wednesday, rib injuries, kind of tricky, especially with the shifty guy like Lad that's going to be running down the middle. Separation is the big key. That is a problem for me for Lad. But what do you think about Lad in this injury? Yeah, it definitely is not good because it seemed like they built the entire ship. To start the year out of Lad McConkey. And then the ship went down. And way before they were supposed to land the plane. So that was really a big unfortunate event to occur for the Los Angeles chargers. And I do want to wait one more thing because I remember seeing this across the feed or one of the chargers coaches was talking about the Marcus Valdez scantling signing might not be as indicative for Lad McConkey as it is for some of their other. So I noticed that they also put can't Kyandre Lambert Smith on injured reserve as well. So that was that was a lot of people were associating that. That might actually be for but we also can't like let's not just associate it with that one thing, but it does from a perspective, you're not going to mark as well this can't like jumping into like Lad's role in the offense. Yeah. And that's not the case. This team is hurting at wide receiver in terms of their overall depth. So Lad to me as an undersized receiver who has dealt with injuries in the past. I just want him to get healthy before they put him back out there. And the thing with the rib injury, it seems like from some of the Twitter docs that it will probably be a pain tolerance thing. So again, Lad is a warrior. All these guys are absolute warriors playing in the NFL, but I am concerned that if he goes out there to quickly takes another big hit over the middle defenders also know when guys play banged up and not to say that they're going to target lad for those reasons. But I mean be physical with this guy. That's one thing that I thought that just to make another example again going out of the tangent here, the Dallas Cowboys, I don't think that they were nearly as aggressive as I should have been when it came to a guy like Malik neighbors where it's like this is the first time that this guy has seen live action. He has not been playing at full speed in terms of. You want some wrestling stuff? You want some poke? I mean, he just made a kick. Pick up a flag. Man, like be physical. Be a heal. Again, not I'm not saying like Patriots 2001 Super Bowl gets martial fork where they were just like below in this team, but he's just like standing somewhere because obviously you can't do that anymore. But I mean, we're off these guys up a little bit. I think that works from a defensive perspective to getting this head, I mean, the best cornerback swells are always the defensive, but defensive backs that just get into the minds of these wide receivers. Most famously, Cortland Finnegan against Andre Johnson, who could forget that type of, I mean, famous wars and battles. That's got to be top 10, at least top five. So again, long tangent here, but I'm a conky, heal up, get back into our blindness because we want this charges offense to be good, man. I got the over on their win total and I thought I had a gimme and we go on, yeah, you know, look great right now. Believe me. Well, I mean, the dumbest thing said on this channel is me like, I'm like, okay, look at it again. And then it's like the first game that you watch is hanging on by a thread. Thank God we got the Falcons. We all knew that was going to happen. Right. Like we all knew as soon as I said that like we were done for, I'm a little bit worried about that. And actually just real quick in moving past this and anyone has any, we actually have some charger-ish questions. They're not really about lad fantasy related, but like I'm worried with lad out or in a limited role that this is still just stunting this charges offense. Like I'm just not so, it's only week one, but I'm just not so sure the charges are ready to turn the corner and just be like, all right, let's put week one past us and move on. Are they? You know, like what was Hampton's uses every question? Oh my God. Every question we've been seeing has been about Hampton. And guess what? Two of the first questions on here about Hampton. Everyone's worried about Hampton. They couldn't get the ball to Johnston. Lad Maconkey is now banged up. Where was that innovative offense for the chargers? It's all not there. I'm worried about what this offense is going to look like moving forward, especially Lad was the big bright spot. If he is going to be out or limited in some capacity, this is bad news. Well, I don't think that the Raiders and the Raiders are one of these teams that can cure all ailments, unless you're the Miami Dolphins. So again, my upset special of the week did not come through the Miami Dolphins are probably the worst team in the NFL confirmed after losing to the Raiders who again, don't have a good team. Like, you shouldn't be afraid of the Raiders or their defense in any capacity. So they're expecting the chargers to bounce back. I'm expecting them to bounce back, get things going, but it's going to be obviously a lot tougher if Lad is not 100% in line up. These aren't about Lad, but just chargers here for a second. Stay live in Hampton, get CMC and Jayden Daniels. You do that? No. Don't want CMC.
Okay, you don't want to do that. You don't want to do that. All right, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. Okay, of course Daniels might be, might be buns. I, Caleb and Hampton is probably safer upside as the CMC Daniels one. You imagine that in the preseason. I'm worried about Hampton and London and a keeper. Should anyone be worried about Hampton? I'm not worried about him. They, again, if they get zero, if he gets zero targets again for two straight weeks, then it's sound the alarms where I don't understand what might be Daniels doing if he's not going to target his, especially if Latt is not playing, you've got to find other ways to get players the ball underneath to create yards. He was selling us this whole yards out to the catch thing, right? And then he gets, and then that's like all running backs do is create yards at the catch unless they're running wheel rots down the field, which I know I like to use Keaton Mitchell sometimes in that role. So yeah, expecting a better output from the chargers after at least one week. Part three, I think there's three big main things. We got a couple of pickups. We're gonna talk about the Josh Jacob situation. That's going on here a little bit. But the other one, another wide receiver with an injury is a flowers. If we move to that, say flowers, not practicing on Wednesday. There were, I think a little bit like rosier conversation. I feel like around flowers, then lad McConkey, but I'll be honest to the, I think we're leaning to both not playing at this point. I could be wrong about that. They could be out, but if they plays, do you think there's confidence that it's going to be a full route tree that they're going to feel comfortable with the normal snaps? I mean, big explosive plays we saw it this week. This is why he was so amazing early on. I'm just, I'm a little bit timid about it. Maybe it's going to be nothing if he gets in some limited practice on Thursday. But where are you leaning on this a flowers front for week two? - Just don't plan. Be as cautious as humanly possible. You don't need safe flowers. At least in my opinion, you don't need safe flowers to be tower truck at home, okay? Like if you can't beat the Saints team without safe flowers, that's saying you have to cover, 'cause I mean, I think they're pretty big home favorites. But I mean, this Ravens defense look legit against the Indianapolis Colts. I know that was Daniel Jones first game coming back from his Achilles, but it's not like Tyler Schuck was amazing in his first game this year. I could say really bad Detroit Lions defense. He did nothing for three and a half quarters of that game. It finally turned it on and got us some points. Shout out. - Thank God for you, by the way. In the prop show, you were going to be sitting in mud for John Johnson. I mean, is this guy alive? Like what is happening in this game? - Well, and I was at a funny point too, where like I was just bad. And I was like, do I want Erickson to be bad with me? Or do I want to root for him to have a really good week? And then I got to the point. I'm like, I think I need to root for him. And John Johnson had to be at the score. - I didn't realize it was his 30th birthday. I can't believe I didn't even realize that. - That is like my stick of like knowing this. - Oh yeah, birthday, birthday touchdowns. Time, Tuddies, birthday, first time Tuddies. Like, I can't believe I didn't have that. So can you please get on birthday watch for us for the coming weeks? Or do we have any birthday, for the prop show? - For the prop show. - For the fantasy pros. - Birthday touchdown watch? So happy touchdown. We'll call it. Happy touchdown day. - Happy touchdown. - That's the tool. - That's the touchdown dance. So yeah, the Ravens, they got to take care of business. They got to protect their flowers from themselves because he's so explosive. Hamstrings are notorious for being re-injured, re-aggravated, and when guys come back soon, too soon, this happens all the time. So I think they need to be very, very cautious with flowers. They can beat the Saints without him. They have Lamar, they have Derrick Henry. They got Rashad Bayman. I know they're gonna have Jacobi Lane because he's also injured, but play defense, run the football, win. That's my analysis. - All right, that's a good analysis. One more of the big topics. And then I want to get to some questions before we have our last two on the main pickup topics here on tailgate. Is this actually might be seen from a fantasy perspective? I think this holds a lot more weight for people than maybe the real life. Lad going out's big, Z flowers going out big. It seemed like we might have a question about Jordan Mason, but that was answered a couple hours ago because Jordan Mason, with this thumb issue, had some thumb stuff going on IR. They placed him on the IR. So he is out, yeah, big thumbs down here. I think I can actually get my Mac to do like a little animation. No, did I do it? No, I didn't do it. But with this IR scent, it leaves Aaron Jones as the top dog. They did sign DJ Dallas. I think they had worked out Jerome Ford but they ended up signing DJ Dallas. But Jordan Mason, now, are Jordan, and Aaron Jones looks to kind of be the guy and by the way, the Bears, the Bears defense, and buns, huge, huge potential. But my question would be, do you think this could be a situation where Aaron Jones takes on the workload or they say, we don't want him. We don't want to put more pressure on him and then I got the clayborn would end up getting something. He's like, or DJ Dallas, to be honest with you, they could piece mail clayborn and Dallas to getting some of those touches and then they don't have Aaron Jones get more. Or do you think the usage they clearly need to lean on Aaron Jones during this? I think they're going to clearly lean on Aaron Jones, especially considering they're going to have Carson Wentz under center as well. So the team loves Aaron Jones. Remember, he took less money to come back to Minnesota and it was very apparent that this year was going to be a bigger year for Jordan Mason and not so much for Aaron Jones. But he took less money to come back to Minnesota. He wanted to be here. They're big fans of him. And I think that they realized the fact that it's a thumb injury, I would assume that Mason will come back at some point and be fully functional and thumbs up ready to go after a month when he can kind of get this going. Because obviously, if he, there it is. If he was like a linebacker, right? They wouldn't they just do the club thing where they're just like, they would just wrap it up and take it out and get out there and do it. But just slam people. It's not great when they have those linebackers. They just have like a cast. It's just a lot of money. It's obviously more Friday when they just have clubs instead of like hands. It's like, okay, well, I'm just going to close line this guy and tackle him. Obviously, it doesn't work the same way running back where you have to hold on to the football. Like a baby, you can't drop it. So I do think that Jones is going to get the majority of the work. I think this happened last year to when Mason missed some time. They did lean on Jones in the second half of the season because when Aaron Jones is like fresh and not having a ton of volume or a ton of touches on him as the season progresses, like he can be pretty good and pretty effective. So I think the fact that it's week two, I think they were probably lean on him a decent amount and knowing that they'll have Jordan Mason later in the season. I think Jones will probably be more open to. Yeah, like feed me now. Feature me now when you need me to. But then things will kind of tail off in the second half of the year. Demon Clayborn, interesting prospect. Rookie that they drafted really explosive. But I still think that he has some time in terms of what his role would technically be. I think DJ Dallas is probably in for pass protection, et cetera, things like that to just give Aaron Jones a break. I am, I'm trying to pull this up right now, but I have a bajillion things going on. I am pulling up the wither without tool that we have on fantasy pros, which you guys can check out. It the full URL, fantasy pros dot com slash NFL slash with dash or the way, but what I do is I type in fantasy pros wither without split, and it'll take you there. And what it looks like, Aaron Jones without Jordan Mason sees, I mean, from a fantasy perspective, he doubles his fantasy points. His Russia temps go from 10 points set. This is over the last two. This is like essentially from last year, from week two, so it's like the last 12 months. It is 10 carries to 18 carries 46 rushing yards, but to only 53 rushing yards, he does average a full touchdown per game when Jordan Mason is out. He sees about one more target. So what's really interesting is his yards don't go up a ton, but his usage does. He gets, it's essentially 11 and nine more touches roughly per game that he's seeing. I mean, that's not insignificant for sure. And obviously from a fantasy perspective, it goes up a little bit. So that kind of speaks a little bit to what you're saying, that he would get more, like seven more touches, you know, that's that's again, not insignificant, man. Yeah, I was looking at I was looking at something that I wrote last year. It seemed like weeks 14 through 17 when he was kind of like the main guy in the backfield, touch totals, 14, 15, 23 and 21. So. Hi, this is highly breakman, Angel Jaretana. And we're the hosts of the artists on artists on artists on artists podcast. The improvised character comedy podcast were each week. A new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of wellness influencers. What I try to do is foe journal. I don't know. I think I sort of foe journaling. Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading. So you're so we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class? No, I've been dying too. I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako in the thousand paper cranes by Audrement Donald at the Wonderland bookstore 14. That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland bookstore yesterday. And I heard Nora Jones do a reading of zero, dark 30. No way. Patrick of the last bookstore though, Kim control is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants and we do a little Halloween sometimes. He, he winks on Halloween. It's right up next to the microphone. You can, I hear you get the elbows here. You've never seen Italy so quiet as when the pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to NFL Daily on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Aaron Jones in that one, I thought I saw a good comment I wanted to bring up. Also, I've got Jordan Mason and every league. This was like on an H&N conversation, pretty brutal in there. So we want to answer some questions, hang with you guys here, but those are the big three ones. Aaron Jones takes a big boost. By the way, an ECR. What did you say this last thing? I just thought of this. Didn't you move Aaron Jones as a top 20 pack this week against the Bears? Was that what I saw? I saw DeBro and I all have him in that general range. I think I put him at RB18 just because I was, you know, I had to be the highest on Aaron Jones because I think that it's because it's the Bears because it's the Bears. I think that Aaron Jones is going to be bringing the Simbrero. He's going to be the Simbrero. Okay. All right. It could be a multi touchdown game. Look, he scored last week against the Green Bay Packers. Dude, this guy loves scoring against these NFC North defenses who, again, fits pointed out, dude. This is the division of shoot outs. All these things. I put him in my touchdown survivor. My touchdown survivor, maybe I should put Aaron Jones. I have three, we have three strikes and I already got a strike from week one. Who'd you put? Did you use, you didn't use, can you wait in Johnson? Did you? No. I did. No, my, I had two guys because you got to pick two in week one. Jamison Williams. Well, I think, you know, he's going to score this meeting right. 100%. 100%. And then I had Devane. I thought a champ was like a lock and a Malik Willis, kind of the touch and when Malik will, I was like, Malik Willis right before the line hit him and they did, they didn't, it was a bad news. All right. Answer for your questions here in a second, but first, friends, let's talk about our friends over at Polymarket. How would you like to do that? I don't know how this guy did somebody sneakily have a super chat in here, Don. Malachi fields worth a stash this year. Yeah. Nice one. Go stash him. Drop Addison for Douglas in dynasty. Caleb. No. What is that? What was that? Stash. Oh, stash. I was like, I'm like, what are you stashing? But we are on the next fashion. Okay. So you do not drop that as a first round pick, very productive. I get that his situation has kind of been weird. I know he said mafia stuff too, but scale Douglas thing may not. I don't know if it's long term, necessarily, but I can be at it. Okay. Oh, this is this is what I this is the question. I forgot I started. I wanted to bring up because there was one more piece of news that we don't have on here. It's like a big graphic or anything like that. But it was noted today, RJ Harvey did not practice and he's dealing with a hamstring injury. All right. That's significant. I mean, it's not significant enough in that it was Monday. So this could be like their Tuesday. But it's significant enough to monitor because Jonah Coleman got a nothing burger. And if RJ Harvey were to miss time, I think we've said this in a, well, this is interesting because we actually thought that Jonah Coleman would be more of the replacement to JK Dobbins and that RJ Harvey's role doesn't change. But what happens if Harvey is out, if they put Jonah Coleman into that spot, when people are saying, Hey, are we concerned, whether you're concerned or not, I wouldn't make no moves. We'll be in on Jonah Coleman. The idea of getting Jonah Coleman was never about week one, two, three or four, five. It was about week six, seven, eight. That arranged where JK Dobbins is probably hurt. So if you have Jonah Coleman and you started freaking out, you're doing it wrong. You can't freak out. Now with Harvey being banged up, this might create an opportunity for Jonah Coleman this week. I don't know if you've seen too much on it. But hamster, we've talked about hamstrings hamstring injury and not practicing, not great for RJ Harvey. You get ready to learn Tyler Badeh again, because that's probably what's going to end up happening is Jonah Coleman will probably stay on the bench doing nothing and Tyler Badeh will slide into the RJ Harvey role and they'll keep rolling with JK Dobbins. So this is pretty typical of the Sean Z. He's always a baddie to me. He's always a Tyler Badeh, not a baddie. That's his name. It looks like baddie. No, he looks like a baddie. So. Our internet's not connected here. It's HN. HN. I'm going to get by the way, too, with a hamstring injury. So the hamster monster is out. He's just snatching souls. All right, let's do, let's snatch my soul if they get enough of these teams. Let's do a few more questions and then I want to get through the other news and there's a couple of questions that line up to where we're going with this. What do you think about this one? It's a good one. Better call Bob. You kind of think we're alluding to it, but are the Raiders for real in the Kubiak offense and the new defensive additions? So Miami, I think made them look better and getting powers is going to be back, but yeah, I don't think you can change any of your expectations or for the Raiders based on a game against the Dolphins. Again, I was wrong about them. I thought that the Dolphins could pull up the upset, but clearly they are just so bad that they're not going to even beat a team that the Raiders, I don't think are the best team, but I think Kubiak, it's a good thing that he's in there and he did a lot of things that we're excited about, especially with the way they use ash and gente, the passing game that is so awesome across all the fasts. It's just using running backs in the passing and makes so much sense. Just get these guys in space, explosive playmakers, makes so much sense in the world. So I think we'll find more, we'll find out more about this Raiders offense and what they can do when they face a more legitimate defense in the Los Angeles Chargers in week two. A couple of those week two, goff for my homes, goff. Texan's defense or Ravens, and then Sedeeker pits. Come on, buddy, I mean, you got to say that's sorry. So I mean, Sedeeker, I mean, he had the cool red zone touchdown where he somehow hit 20 miles per hour, which is super, actually insane basically because there's like not that much time for him to build up speed, but just a credit to how much of a freak this guy is and the fact he missed all of training, he can't even matter because he's just an absolute freak. But in terms of like run route volume targets, I think he's still a little bit behind the eight ball, but hey, man, it is another NFC North defense. So check the ranks. Yeah, we'll see that should do one more and then we'll finish up our two stories here. Walker manager, would you rather stash Emma Johnson or Blake Choram? Blake Choram, I would rather have so I get you want Emma Johnson because you have Ken Walker, but Emma Johnson could sit there for 12 weeks and do nothing if Walker's healthy. If there was no Ken Walker and no Kyron Williams, and you had Emma Johnson running that chief's offense or Blake Choram running that Rams off into, would you rather have her? Horm such a piece. Yeah. I mean, look, Emma Johnson.
He looked good, but it was one game like by corn as two season or one really good season and then one game where he looked shot of a cannon. Dude, he could have ran. If the Fram's offense just wasn't buns, he'd tie her game against the 49ers, but corn was going to rush for like 150 yards in that game. The 49ers could not stop him when he was getting the ball. So they don't. All right. Two other pickup stories. When we do our top five storylines here, going to number four, I admit there's some other like fun stuff that's it's floating out there, you know, injuries and IRs and stuff, but these are two a little bit more speculative ones and one of them not really fun from being honest, but we were talking about this Bill Croskey marit with the fumble. You want to break this down because there's some concern. I don't remember if it was you or Pat and firstly, no one watching this right now if you're watching live has seen it because we recorded earlier today, but we were talking about the discussions of merit losing the having that fumble and then not coming back in and what that means moving forward, I think Pat was super pessimistic about Bill Croskey marit just because that because K-Tron Allen got usage obviously reshawred white, bad matchups because this offensive line is so bad, should we be worried about Jekori Croskey marit with that early fumble and maybe how the team is going to approach him? Yes, I think so because it's clearly something that the coaches noticed because the minute that he fumbled late in the game, that's from K-Tron Allen got the three next carries and we did not see Bill for the rest of the game and this was in the fourth quarter crunch time the commanders had a chance to win and beat the Eagles and Bill was not out there on the field despite the fact that he was the best running back that they had and like he played well against the Philadelphia Eagles was a tough matchup on the road and he looked good he scored a touchdown but he put them all on the ground and even though it was recovered by the commanders, clearly the coaches were upset about their second year running back putting the ball on the ground so that makes him super fringe and we've seen this before with running backs that these can sometimes compound which is unfortunate like I mean the worst example so far this year has been Tyron Tracy that guy just can't get out of his own way like every time he touches every time he touches the ball it makes some stake which I feel bad because I really like Tracy as a player but it would not are you going to be surprised if Naji Harris is active and Tyron Tracy is inactive the next time the Giants know like that's not going to surprise me whatsoever not one but so cross came Eric not just saying he's going to be inactive but based on game script against the Dallas Cowboys who I know the run defense has gotten a little bit better since they got Quinn Williams last year if he makes another mistake messes up in pass pro like you could see his snaps kind of dwindle so he feels like a very fringe player that playing time maybe a little bit out of the thin ice and I think they asked Quinn about it and he said when he put Kate Tron Allen they said was this design to be the plan or did the fumble influence you and Quinn was like both so clearly it's like we wanted to get out and it's like oh well now let's definitely get him in because our guy just fumble the ball that quote was the born damning one I think that they acknowledge that they're like both you're like oh okay the final story in here of that we were going to talk about was just an update on the josh shakeup situation it is not a fun story of course but the newest piece in it was and I don't remember if it's if it was his girlfriend but the woman that was involved in this incident filed to have the evidence sealed for the video so if you've been following the case Josh Jacobs you know he was put on the exemplis they moved the court date up that was on the 10th it was misdemeanor felony and a misdemeanor like a public destruction of he was the phone that he broke we found out but then everybody's kind of been holding their breath that you know when this video comes out the I think the standard is six weeks on like domestic violence issues but the video if if it's bad we just don't know you know what more could that hold well this piece came out and that she is requested a ceiling of that document and if you have both parties doing it unless it's just I mean for all intensive purposes that thing is not going to come out so what that ends up mean it means it's like the NFL will have to work off of its standards and that probably means a six game so a lot of people are speculating it's a weird topic of discussion I mean right here was you know looking to buy Jacobs for someone's looking in fantasy it's again it's like a weird transitional topic but uh just your take on this situation and what this is potentially going to mean for Josh Jacobs you think we're gonna see him this year do you advocate for people buying on him obviously taking like a moral clause out of all of that type of stuff which which are take on this new development yeah I think it just kind of means that we're going to get to a resolution soon or rather later in resolution not in the legal standards but in terms of we're gonna figure out how many games he's gonna get suspended whether he's gonna play this year at all and I think it's probably gonna be anywhere between six to eight games is probably one thing that has also been thrown out I mean are empty but there's talk also that they are saying that part of the there might be a time serve situation so something you might have is if this let's say the NFL decides to act on this in week three they might say well he has because the exempless he has been served those three games so it might only be three more games so there is a world where he could be back in week seven if they hold to that and they could hold to that maybe a little bit more because if there's no video evidence like yeah I don't know if they need public outcry or anything like that that's just speculative type of stuff but like if this is if this is it it might not get messier and there there's a world now where week seven Josh Jacobs could be back legitimately so the NFL has definitely not seen the video that is like 100% confirmed right because of this reporting I believe so I believe that's what they said is that they were trying to obtain it and this I think led to again it was noted as she wants to maintain her privacy for it for whatever the reason if that is the only reason but yeah the NFL has not seen it because this is from his private security camera as well and it is for it is sealed you know like he doesn't want it out she doesn't now want it out like the only way it can get out is if it's illegally taken out and then there's going to be a whole another argument you know like it's going to be a rough situation if the NFL I mean this is just speculative but the NFL reacts off of that video when it was illegally obtained then there might be more more lawsuits and it's just like the last thing you want to do yeah no for sure yeah and then clearly the fact that the woman doesn't want this like that clear that doesn't suggest that anything on this thing is good like it's it I don't even want to like necessarily dive into that by like bad bad of course or else I feel like she wouldn't feel nearly like I'm not trying to speak for her or whatever but if it was oh like this is fine like nothing like okay whatever but like clearly it's it's something that's bad on that tape so I so I can't I guess I can't advocate for doing any of that like if you're asking you want to buy a lot you need to do it you can go do it I think there's too much questions I think your best case scenario if you purely look it from a fantasy perspective he could be back by week seven if it is two and it's six things like she could always like change her because she changed her mind and be like well you know what I decided to do this instead and probably like how do I just feel like the NFL like always like they just always like find a way to get what like yeah the NFL always gets what they want you know what I mean so like again obviously want to respect this this woman and what's going on in this situation here but like I mean the NFL just like there's such a power hungry source they can just feathers do wherever they want so I don't know I mean we'll see what ended up happening but for now it's like yep he'll probably get suspended for six games and then if for some reason there is a situation where the video does come out then it's like dude I would get rid of Josh Jacobs and Dynasty like like I don't know if they're going to double jeopardy it though that might be why they're waiting to see if there's because it's like you're not going to suspend them and then like resuspend him because of a public and that's why I mean they did that I mean again going back to the Ray Rice thing they suspended him for two games then the video came out and they're like oh well actually you're gone like yeah well I knew a little more to that too where it was like at that time what was like what Josh Gordon was getting suspended for like six games for marijuana usage and then they're just like wait Ray so get to like that was the ultimate fumble that's also that's that's kind of where we are at right now is because of like the massive fumbling of all of those situations so you know if you're asking from like a fantasy question I would probably stay away from it for the most part I would say two of this packer's offensive line doesn't necessarily look like it's going to be a great run blocking unit for whenever Josh Jacobs does come back so I think that is definitely worth noting but clearly Lloyd Brooks at least in week one haven't really taken the job and run with it so yeah exactly all right you can take that off and go back to the two box because the one thing I was going to say is obviously a big piece of news we didn't talk about us we're leaving here is that the 49ers announced that Desjana Stribling's injury is way worse it is 10 weeks came a little bit later for us to react to the graphic and also Tonjas Tongues Tonjas is out for the season brutal brutal blow so a big blow to our sleeper rankings because I think you kept Stribling in there we both our sleeper we were top 10 in sleeper rankings and now that Stribling is out for 10 weeks we are not going to get accredited for that and that's another blow to the 49ers offense though I will say you want to be sneaky about it Christian Kirk Christian Kirk should be back room for week five and that might be someone to take a look at for that 49ers offense because Stribling is going to be out for a significant amount of time you can have all the Christian Kirk you want yeah that's a good now but he's out for four weeks like I see all the locations Welsh has added Christian Kirk is it the Welsh has added Christian Kirk adding Debo Debo gets the push he gets the the push up for sure all right it's going to be it's going to be crazy to see what this four hours offense looks like in week 14 she's going to be hit like what the receiver room would look like make one way we should make a bet right now
now. Week 14. I don't even know how they're playing. Okay. Who was the leading receiver? I don't know. The set versus go 49. I'll still say of the for that week or like overall 14 just that game. Summary:

Lad McConkey is recovering from a rib injury and is not practicing. Experts believe he may be limited or out, and his absence could significantly impact the Chargers' offense.
RJ Harvey did not practice due to a hamstring injury. This could create a potential opportunity for Jonah Coleman to take on a larger role, though the team may still rely on Tyler Badeh as a backup.
With multiple receivers injured—including Lad McConkey and possibly Marcus Valdez—there is a significant concern about the Chargers' offensive depth and ability to run efficient plays in the coming weeks.
