Welcome in to a new edition of NFL Cover Zero. Drew Franklin sitting in the host chair today with Billy R. Sports joining me as the sidekick. We are without Matt Jones. It's a unique week here for Kentucky Sports Radio. That's what we do full-time. When we're not talking about the NFL. And Matt is on the road with Ryan Lemon and Mario Maitland, who many of you know well from KSR. They're on their way to Oklahoma, which really impacted scheduling this week. They're driving. They're in Evansville, Indiana today as we do this. Billy and I stayed back, and it was looking like we weren't going to be able to even have a midweek episode. But Billy and I said, you know what? This season's rolling. We can't be taking weeks off. We got to get together, make this happen. We miss Matt, but we're going to do our week six preview episode without him. And I feel like we can do that. I feel like we can do that. I feel like we can handle it just fine. Might be a little abbreviated because we have our own things going on today. But, Billy, we just couldn't leave the people without an episode with so much happening. Let's do it, man. Next Man Up mentality. We've done a show together before where we talked about how little time we'd be spending with our family around the holidays with all the great games in the NFL. So, ready to do it again with you. Absolutely. Where do you want to start here? You want to talk about that thriller on Monday night? You want to get some news? We'll obviously preview the games later. But I'm just going to toss to you as our news finder and everything you've dialed up. Billy, where do you want to start? Billy, where do you want to lead off with all that's happening as we head into week six? Well, first of all, I'm a little sad to start the show, Drew. I don't know if you noticed this with the vibes in the room. I did notice you were a little teary-eyed. But the Rams released their kicker, Harrison Mevis, after their loss to the Bills. And that's my kicker in fantasy. Oh, no. You had Mev? I had the thicker kicker. This is my guy. I live and die with the thicker kicker. And for Sean McVay to just throw him to the curb after that two missed field goals in the Monday night performance. First of all, what a great game that was. Why don't we start there? Yeah, let's talk about that. I mean, we said going into it, I thought Super Bowl preview, that's not a wild take. But I still believe we'll be a rematch there. You know, early it started off, everybody thought we'd get a shootout. Two years ago, these teams played, and it was just back and forth, back and forth. I think it almost got to the 50s, they were scoring so much. And then this one started a little slow. We wondered, where's our shootout? And then it kind of kicked into gear as the game went on. And, of course, we end up with a thriller going to overtime, Bills getting the win. A little back and forth where it looks like the Bills have it. You get a fumble, Mevis lines up for a kick. Neither side really wanted to win. Your boy Mevis now no longer with the Rams as he missed that field goal that set up Josh Allen having the long run and the Bills stealing the victory in L.A. To your point, 34 points scored in that fourth quarter of that game. A total of 890 yards, eight lead changes. So it did become a great game. You know, the Rams' defense celebrating after they got that fumble in overtime like they had already won the game. They had already won in their mind. And then just the disaster that unfolded after that. So it was. It was really entertaining. And then Sean McVay looks into the cameras in the postgame press conference and says, I'm going to hold myself accountable. We're going to look at everything and make some changes. And the changes was for the thicker kicker to leave. And I am just devastated by this news. Not only that I have to go find a new kicker the week that I play you in fantasy in our league, Drew. Oh, I didn't even realize that. We'll add that to our list of topics for later. We'll talk some smack. But the 245-pound kicker was perfect last year. He was awesome for the ramps. I know he struggled. It was five for nine. This year had two missed kicks in that game last night. But I thought it was a little reactionary to kick Mevis off the team after that game. Here's a stat for you, Drew. Since Sean McVay took over in 2017, the Rams have had 81 kicks, either missed or blocked since that time. That's the third most in the NFL. Put it on yourself and your failure as a special teams coordinators, not the thicker kicker who has been bringing fans together for years. I did think there was a slight overreaction. He had two misses. One was from 15. Plus, I mean, in the NFL, now they're kicking for 70. You're expected to make those, but it's not like he missed an extra point or a chip shot. And then the other, you get the blocked field goal at the end, also pushing 50 yards there. So I did think they threw him under the bus. I remember Harrison Mevis when he was at Missouri. Yeah. And then he was in like the XFL. And then he pops back up in the NFL, not just on any team, on the best team last year. Didn't eventually be the best, but we thought could be one of the best. And just when he takes his helmet off, he's kind of, he's balding a little bit, the belly. And it's, it's a guy you really want to root for. I don't like the Rams. I was rooting for the Bills, had a little money on it. And even I was like, all right, thicker kicker. I'm kind of happy for that. You get this moment and then it gets blocked. And now he's looking for a job. He's now looking for a job. So I did hate that, but the Rams got to start winning games. They can't afford to lose too many more. You know, with the 49ers playing so well, they may not get home field advantage in the playoffs. I do want to bring up Josh Allen for one other thing, because it's been between him and Purdy for the MVP. Do you know Josh Allen is on pace to break? Do you know Josh Allen is on pace to break LaDainian Tomlinson's rushing touchdown record? Josh Allen has eight rushing touchdowns. He's on pace to pass the 27 put up by LT in 2006. So not only throwing and leading the Bills, but might break the rushing touchdown record too. Clearly great rusher. Maybe one of the best rushing quarterbacks we'll ever see. I did not know he was chasing running back LT records. So now I'm hoping he scores, he breaks it. All the tush pushes, just every time James Cook gets to the one yard line, make sure Josh. Josh gets the touchdown because I'd love to see that record broken. Well, it wasn't a touchdown, but the running overtime was huge. That's that's what makes Josh Allen special. He said after the game that Matthew Stafford might be the best thrower of the football ever. Like any of them just throwing the football. But as he's saying, thinking, I'm like, yeah, but you have a whole nother dynamic that no one else has really had. But I thought that was very complimentary of him to Matthew Stafford, who brings me to my next point. Why did they stop throwing to Puka? Yeah, it felt like they could get 15 yards. Anytime they wanted. Matthew Stafford's numbers are insane. Puka's numbers are insane. How many times was he targeted? Like 25, 24. It's incredible. And he's on my fantasy team, by the way. So you have that to look forward to this week. It's a completely different offense when he was there. Devontae Adams got all the attention when Nakua was out. I don't know if he's a system receiver, if anybody would have that kind of success or if it's just him. But he was absolutely phenomenal. You're right. But then in overtime, it's like they just they went away from it. Yeah. And I mean, just kind of goes to the questionable coaching decisions we saw. We saw in week five. There'll be more on that in a bit when we come to the news. But Stafford and Josh Allen, you're two last MVPs in the league going at it on Monday night. Yeah. And we're trying to hurry through this show. And we don't want to spend too much time on a game that was a few days ago. But I have one more thing from this game. One more thing. OK. In overtime, Bills have the ball. They make the pass to Shakir. He gets like 25 yards. There's a shoestring tackle. It looked like Shakir was going to have a game when he touched down. He had just dirt in front of him to the end zone. Shoestring tackle. Guy makes it. He makes the play. Brings him down. Still, you think, well, Bills probably locked this up because that got him to field goal range. And then Cook fumbles on the next play. I say that because I don't even know who made that tackle. But the hustle plays, man. You never know what's next. He could have laid off a little bit. Game winning touchdown. You're going home. He gets that stop on Shakir. And then football happens. James Cook gives up the ball. And it completely, what we thought, turned the game. Rams get it back. Drive the field before the missed field goal. But that was just a moment where it looked like the Bills were going to win on that pass play. And then anything can happen. And Cook, you know, a great running back. Bills love them, putting the ball in the dirt. from the game that i thought that was pretty interesting there i always thought it was over and then the rams end up you know getting their kick blocks so it's it's amazing how it changes i also remember a rams shoestring tackle that ended the 99 super bowl at the one yard line oh thank you for bringing that up they can't hurt me anymore billy they're also on my list yeah it's been a rough week all right let's get to some news we'll look uh look a little more present than uh that past game but it was such a big game we had to spend a little time talking about it yeah well since we've already talked about the rams releasing their kicker right after the game let me bring you another rams note the rams left tackle alaric jackson was suspended two games for punching bradley chubb following the monday night game the players were shaking hands and exchanging jerseys when jackson struck chubb after a brief confrontation he will miss two games against arizona and las vegas over the next two weeks did you happen to see the video after i did you don't you don't see that often just a clean shot on a jaw with the helmet off i think of le garrett blunt but uh he got him pretty good i just i've still not heard what what sparked it i didn't see i didn't see uh this alaric jackson has quite the past if you look at some of the discipline that the nfl has given him um so you know probably fits with his personality a little bit i normally see nfl players punch other nfl players with their helmets still on so he did at least wait for the helmet to come off to get a clean shot that's the dumbest thing is fighting in the nfl when you have all that head gear on but uh he'll be out for the next two games do you think that'll matter the left tackle being out it will matter also really stupid on his part like so we don't know what started it but he like seems to track chubb down like he's looking for it wasn't like chubb's in his face and he's reacting he's the one that went out and sought him out and then kind of good on chubb to take it on the chin obviously he was yelling back at him but his players holding back and it didn't escalate but that's a guy who knows hey i want to play next week so uh i'll let you have that one yep and uh the bills defense has a much better pass rush this year with bradley chubb got to keep him on the field so smart decision by him not to to punch back and it's not panic time for the rams because they're good but it's also like okay don't lose enough look at your division you know yeah you're playing he's still got the niners and seahawks a couple times like you can't play with your food here much longer yeah to that point i think like this week is like a must win for them after um well i mean do they even play this week or are they on a buy here let's see no they play this week without the cardinals they've they've got to beat the arizona to keep up with sam yeah season's over yeah i would say more about the what's going on in the locker room if they lose that one right here's another news note jerry jones announced this week that first year defensive coordinator christian parker is moving to the booth instead of the sidelines to call plays the cowboys are two and three and they gave up 419 yards to the winless bucks on thursday night the cowboys also hired longtime nfl coach mike pettin to join the defensive staff as the packers defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2020 never a good sign when you hear coordinator moving from the sideline to the booth after the struggles of the first few weeks and dallas having a bad defense didn't just pop up this year they were awful last year it was the main priority this offseason fired uh math boy matt nagy if i'm not mistaken as coordinator a year ago they may be slightly better maybe but not i mean they're still like ranked 29th 30th and a lot of defensive stats that's gonna be what holds them back this year they're wasting a great offense and moving from the booth they're bringing in an old guy that hired you from the past this that i don't know they're so bad i don't think that fixes it no 30 31st and yards allowed you can get a better view of the carnage from up there compared to farther away from it but what do you what do you feel about bringing in an old mentor like that what's he gonna do like unlock something in the young defensive coordinator christian parker i just that seems like a panic move for a cowboys team that is in win now mode and especially with that division they still can right so i mean maybe jerry's still optimistic but yeah they got to get that fixed it's so bad i don't know what was the guy's name that they brought in uh mike pettin i don't i don't know what that's gonna do former coach of the browns yeah yeah but is he just christian parker just be like oh mike's here now now i can lock it or is mike just gonna be standing over him remember 2019 we did this this and this as a you should do this this and this as a casual dallas fan i hate that the defense is gonna ruin what what should be a good year and uh moving to the booth is not gonna change well it's sunday night football cowboys at packers this week so we'll see it in prime time well micah well micah had a reunion there who is not going to play in this game which is a big mystery right now as the packers wait for him to come back he's podcasting like us in military families service is more than a job it's a legacy at american military university that legacy can help strategy leadership it's all part of the game just look at today's players a quarterback has to do so much more than throw the ball they need to read defenses extend plays and make smart decisions under pressure running backs do so much more than run they're catching passes picking up blitzes and finding ways to create opportunities when the play breaks down the players who make the biggest impact are often the ones who can do more than what's expected of them whether it's on the field or off success often comes from being able to do more than one thing well take nationwide for example there's so much more than a great insurance company they're one of america's largest financial services companies too it's a reminder that sometimes the strongest organizations just like the strongest players are the ones built to offer so much more for your insurance and financial needs nationwide is on your side nationwide investment services corporation member finra columbus ohio here's another note the six episode espn doc titled saban was just released it was the most watched original debut since 2022 for espn but saban as well as his college success coached the dolphins for two years from 2005 to 2006 where he was 15 and 17 before that he was a defensive coordinator for the browns from 91 to 94 where he was with bill belichick and saban has said that was the worst four years of his life did you happen to catch that one catch the beginning of the saban doc um because people have been linking him to the titans as of the last week i've seen a lot of the social media clips and then i've watched most of episode one how is it it's good i haven't it was one of those things where i was also on my computer so there's like five minute windows where i look down writing something and i wasn't completely tuned in but i'm enjoying it and seeing some of the stuff that's ahead in future episodes i'm i'm pretty locked in i'm gonna make sure i finish it have you had a chance i haven't even started it yet but i have a chance i haven't even started it yet but i'm pretty locked in i haven't even started it yet if he's saying the worst years of his life and he's under bill belichick there's got to be some stories there uh also a db coach for the oilers back in the day as well so he's got a lot of nfl time under his belt but i think him famously going to the nfl failing and then going back to college is probably the more interesting though do you do you like when these documentaries i'm i'm a fan i used to be into every single one now there's a lot so i don't watch everyone like i used to track them all like when 30 for 30 first started it was appointment viewing like that miami Hurricanes one that broke the one about the NFL athletes losing all their money. money uh that was the one that they showed me in classes in college classes so yeah i'll i'll definitely subscribe to those docs me too the same one's been good so far i think like different sport but the last dance was so good 30 for 30s i i really get into the i don't like i'm not even big saving guy but you know one of the greatest coaches of all time i like seeing the behind the scenes and a football life does some really good ones on the nfl network if you want to see those of course yeah shout out the nfl i watch a lot of those too uh what's up next uh week five including a lot of odd coaching decisions i just wanted to run down all of them with you drew i got four of them for you todd bowles choosing not to go up three scores versus the cowboys on thursday night football i would have fired him after the win honestly for doing that i agree did he has he explained that that's one of the dumber things you can do i i haven't been locked in and seen his comments on it um so i can't answer there people often say like a kid playing madden when they've done that yeah this isn't even a kid playing madden this is like seven-year-old me on my super nintendo playing troy aikman football like on crappy graphic this is like tecmo bowl you you know not to do this you the basic level of football knowledge tells you not to do that so that started the week then you had nick sirianni not having his kicker kick the ball into the end zone in london and it ended up costing the game the jags ended up kicking a field goal and winning eight seconds left in that game on that one still dumb not defending it but you got to make a tackle you are on the team to make a special team stack the game is over if you do the bare minimum of your job is not let someone return the ball past the 50 so it's on the it's on all of them not just the kick not going out of bounds and nobody returns anymore for big gains there hasn't been one for a touchdown this year which is incredible that get that play has been completely neutered and for them to still get a big run back with eight seconds left that set the tone and the guy like made a hustle tackle to get him down with one second left i know in your mind you can't be like well i'm gonna let him run three more yards then tackle him but like he wasn't gonna take it for touchdown there were still guys in front of him and they may they tackle him from behind and leave a second and field goal range sirianni bad move then you had dan quinn at the end of the washington new york giants game i also blame jayden daniels on that too like i don't want him to be absolved from any criticism of this if you're a quarterback at the highest level you have to have a sense of urgency and not a single person on that team did during that moment i don't know his name but i love the offensive lineman did you see the video of him he's got long hair yeah he's screaming what are we doing somebody somebody held dan quinn out he is going to be synonymous with bad play clock management now and then sean mcveigh i got one for you here didn't go for two at the end of regulation they score with about a second left with kyron williams us here at kentucky love what will stein's doing going for two for back-to-back weeks he decides to go for one do you like the move to give the back to the josh allen's bills or do you like uh going for it there at the end i love that he kicked the extra point but only because i'm on my couch watching bill's ramps oh yeah like if that's if that's commander's giants i'm like come on dude go for two but i wanted more football in this case so as a fan on my couch i had my one up like i want more josh allen versus matthew stafford so i was rooting for it but not if it were me with the sticks i might have gone for two with stafford as your quarterback that often just throw the ball to puka yes i mean unless he's triple team which he might be at that point of the game bill's secondary has been kind of weak certainly in that game but i think he's that game too yeah you're playing the bills there's a good chance they're going to be able to score some points in overtime they eventually did i love that we got the classic by him not uh ending it there yes it was it was good for all of us and then one final note it's a it goes back to josh allen who's right up there in the mvp voting did you know with the win against the rams josh allen is now one in seven in overtime games i didn't know it in the moment but the way he celebrated it he was like i used to hate overtime now i finally got one on like seven that is crazy that is crazy quarterback in the nfl i mean i flash back to some some moments for sure especially against the chiefs in the playoffs but uh good for josh allen to finally get an overtime win and get that monkey office back hayley would look like a proud wife up there in the booth when he was making that overtime run well it looked like she was actually watching the game serious about it uh people are comparing her to taylor who's pointing at a ring when travis does something right i'm not comparing and contrasting i love all the uh the wives getting into it yeah but uh big for josh allen and are you is this a year for the bills who i mean yes i think they've definitely got the horses to do it it's just imagine it's about avoiding of overtime game in the playoffs if so the afc i i don't know it seems pretty wide open right now to me um you know the chiefs with kenneth walker on your fantasy team uh is obviously pretty good but you know i think if if it's not bills 49ers at this point i'd probably be surprised yeah i agree it looks like they might finally get over the hump but i also feel like we've said that a few times in the past well would you say the window's closing or i still feel like josh has got some time left it's not closing but it's like hey this this window we're at least gonna go ahead and you know we're gonna pull the blinds where we can start lowering it a little bit like we're not closing it yet but we should speed up because it's gonna start to pull that down yeah well i think they're glad they're in the afc too the chiefs are a big hurdle but the nfc man they just see you got that whole line west you'd have to deal with too heck yeah that's got to be like one of the best divisions of all time yeah yeah i think so at least and the nfc north who has all teams above 500 too so you got a lot of good teams in over there yep what's next uh that's it for the news so unless you want to talk keep talking trash about our fantasy teams we can let's just butt into that i didn't realize we played i lost for the first time or second time last week but my my roster was depleted i had no morale going into it kenneth walker was on a buy i got injured people i i kind of i kind of laid down on the mat for this one but now i got you kenneth walker's office by i'm trying to pull up our projections yeah so here's the thing i'm three and two okay but i have the third fewest points scored in the league this is this is what fantasy football does you can have some people that score a ton of points but lose their matchups and still be at the bottom of the standings or somebody like like me drew who's just squeaking by but still gets to be in the conversation with you and matt who have good teams this year whatever happens rest rest the way i'm just glad that covers zero and i get embarrassed that's right we're we're all near the top and in contention um this week clearly one of us is gonna have to take another l uh i now looking at my roster i have a lot of work to do between now and sunday maybe even between now and thursday uh do we have our do you know i'm trying to pull up who's projected are you are you projected i'm projected to win but you gotta fix your lineup yeah because i got jefferson in there still who's on a buy and you might want to put kenneth walker in for taja spears even though i know you're big time i got devante smith on the bench yeah i need to i need to get down with we need to get in the lab get our draft board out maybe make some moves heading into this or at least get my roster set but i'm looking forward to playing you you want to do a little wager you want to make it a little bit more interesting we'll think on it as the show goes on okay we'll come to some conclusion of uh embarrassment for the other person but don't you don't do i think it was week two i did this my roster had people that weren't playing and i wasn't going to change it and paul sent me a note talking trash saturday night and he reminded me to go in and update my roster and i did then i beat him so you could have just left this alone and i might not even notice kenneth walker was still on the bench that's not who i am drew i'm gonna i want to beat you at your best uh it's not like a quarterback getting injured it's like bo nicks and the broncos getting injured and then you've got a backup coming in to play i don't want it like that i want to beat you at full strength yeah you want your teams coming in you want to beat the best of the best to prove your worth yeah that's the biggest matchup this week billy verse drew but thursday night we got a pretty good game little seahawks broncos thursday night we got a pretty good game little seahawks broncos thursday night we got a pretty good three and two three and two seahawks coming off a tough loss to the 49ers last week that could have some big implications when we get to the postseason but you know sometimes these thursday night games are a little weak and uh we've got a good good matchup here a little afc nfc contender showdown uh billy i'll start with we know what seattle is i thought last week i was wishing they would have given cooper cup that first down so they could finish out that drive the game ended on a review for a first down which is tough way to lose a game that matters so much against the 49ers we we know they're good where what are your thoughts on the broncos are we believing offense no i'm out on the bro okay you're out you know they've only scored 23 points in the first half this year that's tied with the tennessee titans for the lowest in the league sean payton has taken over play calling duties but i don't know if that's been the issue with this team they barely beat the struggling chargers last week i don't like what i'm seeing this denver defense isn't as dominant as they were last year i think since denver doesn't score in the first half seattle will have that halftime lead and and their defense is probably good enough to hold on so i'm gonna go seattle in this one uh me too even though it's at mile high i'm a little surprised the spread's two and a half because seattle might have best defense in the nfl against a struggling offense and losing that game last week i think just gives them a little bit more juice to go out and get another win this week so i like the seahawks here and might even a little dabble on that point spread even though they're playing at denver in military families service is more than a job it's a legacy at american military university that legacy Got away with a steal last week as we just talked about with the Eagles blowing that game. Looked like they had it. I said this on the show on Sunday. When the Eagles made that field goal, I turned it off. I assumed I won. I had Eagles money line. I'm like in the midway through the first quarter of the afternoon games and I see like the score ticker and I'm like, what? What happened? The Jags won and I had to go back and figure that out. But the Jags are back in London playing the Texans. Yeah, I know. I know a little AFC South matchup. The AFC South goes international. I'm sure they're thanking us for that. But you know, Jags may have the home field advantage. They love playing over there in London. But you know, the Texans just just traded for a receiver and Marvin Harrison Jr. They got into the win column. They're slump buster. They're going to win. And the Tennessee Titans, I feel like they could really save their season if they were to go to London and beat Jacksonville. So I'm going to go with a little upset pick here. I'm going to take the Texans. Oh, I'm going to go with the Jags because they're they're doing the opposite of the Rams and the Eagles. And they're just embracing the culture. They're staying. They're just drinking tea right now. Y'all, they're doing it all. They're they're going to see Big Ben. They're having the time of their lives and they'll be ready to go on Sunday. So toast. Yeah. English breakfast. Get your beans, toast, your rice or not rice. Why did I say rice? Tomatoes. Why did I say rice? It's tomatoes. Well, I've never been. Have you been to London? I have not. I've been nearby and I tried to train to London for the day and it was like four hundred dollars. I was like, you know what, London, I'll see you another time. But I go to New York a lot and I go to Jack Dempsey's and they have English and Irish breakfasts and I usually get one to help put that hangover from the night before. So I've had the breakfast many times on this side of the pond, but never over there. Jaguars win this one, though, and Houston will go to one. And five with the one being against my Tennessee Titans. Well, Liam Cohen seems to have unlocked Trevor Lawrence, a better Trevor Lawrence. I think you probably put him in the conversation for maybe a top five quarterback in the league now. There you go. Stay in the FC South. Let's just get it over with. Titans at Colts. Tennessee's own five. Andy, three and two. Billy, we scored three points last week and we scored it right away. Had a lead, though. Little things. It's just I did the rant. Did you see that tweet where somebody listed all the problems that went super viral? Yes, since the A.J. Brown trade. It's just been a was crazy comedy of errors. Well, you know who I'm picking here. I showed you a video before we started doing this of the A.I. The Titans clubhouse. The Internet is just being so mean to them. They're bad enough, but we're getting like A.I. slop videos of the Titans just being clowns. It's just keeps spiraling and spiraling even farther. Dysfunction is a good word for it. Rebrand of the Titans like a week after it happened just seemed a little odd. I filled out a fan survey they put out. It's like six pages. It's one of those like one to ten. How angry are you about this one to ten? Do you think this can get fixed? I can't wait to see how that gets because they're going to put out the results. It's going to be ugly out there. Jonathan Taylor, who was who was bottled up in that game versus the Steelers last week, may go for 200 yards and three touchdowns. It may be a get right game for him. So I think especially Indy at home. Talk me out of the Colts. Not. Not being my survivor pick this week. You know my feelings. Okay. Well, then I'll go with the Colts as my survivor pick. They have no excuse to lose this game. Zero excuse to lose this game. But Jonathan Taylor doesn't play better. And the Colts kicker is outscoring like elite players in the NFL by himself. So keep on kicking Indy. I love him. I'll be tuned in. I'll watch every snap of this game. And that makes you a real fan. I mean, you got to go through the tough times to appreciate the good ones, right? Because I'm so open about how down they are right now. I've had a lot of people like just switch, man. No one's making you. No, that's not me. I loved them from the day they got to Tennessee. They didn't have a stadium. And I was like, that's my team. Look at that. Look at that logo. Look at those Titans. Well, even when they tried to break up with you when they missed your last year, you were like, no, these colors do not run. I'm two tone blue. I'm very upset. They know I'm upset, but I love them and I'll see him Sunday and I'll see him the next Sunday and I'll see him the next Sunday and it'll be that way until I'm dirt. And I just worry that I'll never see success. It was a good rant last week. It was a good rant. All right. Let's move on to, uh, you want to do a little bears Falcons? Let's do it. This is where we need Matt, his bears against the teams. He loves to rag on Chicago three and two Atlanta two and three bears look bad last week, five turnovers against the Packers. But then Atlanta had an opportunity to beat the Ravens playing Tyler Huntley and blew that game. Uh, what do you make of bears heading to Atlanta this week? Yeah. You know, is Michael panic's going to play? Is Caleb Williams going to play? That feels like the big question mark for both of these teams. The bears are minus seven in the turnover margin these last two weeks, even though Kayla has been out three, it's been a struggle for them. They got my nun guy got hurt. So there's, there's a lot going wrong for Chicago, but I don't think they dip to 500. They're sitting at three and two right now. If Atlanta doesn't have panics, I'm really worried about them even putting points on the board. Uh, you know, two is just that bad right now. And it's been a, it's been a big struggle. So even on the road, I think Chicago gets this one done. If Penix plays, I'm going upset. I don't even know if it'd be that big of an upset. If he plays, you want to go Atlanta. If Penix plays, is that, is that your pick? I guess go and put me down for the Falcons. It's not, it's not, we don't, we don't do the, if so-and-so plays game here, put me down for the Falcons, but that's my belief that if he plays, well, the bears are good. Stopping a run. Bijan Robinson is the leading rusher in the NFL right now. So that's good on good. We'll see how it goes. Yeah. I mean, Matt seems to not believe this was the bears year. He loves what they're building. I thought the bears were even going to take another step forward to be at 500, six games in, uh, if they were to lose this one, uh, they need to avoid that and get a win. And especially in that division they're in where everyone has a winning record. Don't let Matt have revisionist history after that week, one game where the bears scored 59 points, uh, Caleb Williams was winning the MVP and the bears were going to the Superbowl. So, you know, they need to get it done soon, or it's going to be the Hammond bears that eventually went to the Superbowl and not the Chicago. So brave, uh, Bravens Browns, Ravens, Bravens rounds. They're in Cleveland Ravens, four and one Browns, a surprise three and two, and we're almost four and one. This is not a game that I thought would have mattered in the division standings when we were talking about it in the preseason, but now this could have implications in that division. Uh, what do you make of this game, Billy? I think the Ravens are good. Even without Lamar Jackson. Now you get that four and a half, five and a half line and Lamar. Lamar plays. And I even like it even more. But, uh, even with Snoop Huntley leading that comeback last week, Derek Henry still looks, still looks great. Uh, the Browns are dysfunctional and they're only beaten teams like the bucks. And did they win that game versus the jets or did they lose that? That was, that was a week ago or so. I, I only think that they can beat mid the bad teams. The Ravens aren't one of those teams. So I think Baltimore does get it done. Yeah. I'm going to go with Baltimore here too. Um, I'm going to pick up the pace on these a little bit as I'm looking at the clocks. We still have a lot to get to. And I know we have time constraints. Let's just move on to Jets Patriots. All right. Oh, the Pats the last two weeks have seemed to turn things around. Yeah, I was worried about them there earlier in the year. Now Drake Mays says, hey, guys, you know what? I still am one of the better QBs in the league. New England, a legitimate playoff contender, having already beat the Bills. I know it was just the Ravens a week ago, but they destroyed them like 45 to 10 or something. So New England has life and they get to host the Jets here. I think this will, even though the Jets, I'm proud of you for having two wins already. I think this should be no problem for the Patriots. Two top 10 defenses in the league right now. So you should give Aaron Glenn a little bit of credit for turning things around. I would take the Jets to cover, but if we're picking just who's winning the game, I think New England, because I believe the line's at around seven and a half right now. I think that is high. I think Drake May can fumble the ball enough times to keep it close. So I'm going Pats, though, in the pick game. Yeah, I think the Pats kill them here. I think they found life. And this is one to keep that momentum going. You like looking at the Jets. This could be a fun, feel-good game for them. Saints-Giants. New Orleans. 0-5, but they've had potential. If there's such thing as potential in an 0-5 team, playing against the Jameis Winston experience. Jameis, 300 yards, three TDs last week. I love him. He's so fun to watch. He's so silly. We mentioned this Sunday with Pump faking down the field. His interviews are still great. Now he gets to host the Saints, a team he can go beat. Jameis, go get him. Well, you know, the Saints, they lost that game to the Lions week one by one point. They did beat Baltimore. And week two. So one and four. But I feel like everybody thinks they should be better than that, right? I think a lot of people saw Tyler Shuck and what he's been able to do and thought they could win a few more games. Meanwhile, it's been like the opposite with the Giants, right? 3-1-1. After they lose their quarterback, they're still winning games. So I think the NFL starts to correct itself a little bit. Give me New Orleans to be a road favorite and win this game. Yeah, they're one and a half point favorite. I'm going to believe in Jameis. Mainly because I just want to watch him. I just want to smile. Well, Scadaby will never fumble again after what happened at the end of that last game. So you can count on him at least. Well, now he's going to fumble twice. Let's go to a team that's just fumbling everything. The Philadelphia Eagles with a losing record. They're hosting the Panthers. Eagles, I almost said they're my biggest disappointment. It's still the Chargers, but I can't get over the Eagles being two and three. Especially like the loss we talked about losing last week. The offense can't do anything. They've lost three straight games. Can they beat Carolina at home? No. I think Carolina is the better team. Bryce Young has been on locked. Keep pounding. Go Panthers is Mike's new song. I don't know if you've listened to Carolina Mike's catalog. So I've been bumping that in the house every Sunday. Give me my NFC South brethren on the road. The Panthers here. I like your pick. Reluctantly, I'll say the Eagles. But Carolina is coming off a bye. And just. Beat the Lions before that. Bryce Young, as you said, looking pretty good this year. Would not shock me at all if this happened. Carolina is actually a one and a half point favorite. I thought I pulled that up thinking the Eagles would be like one or two points. Philadelphia, my God, figure it out. But who's running the ball for them right now? I mean, Saquon is out. Tank Bigsby is out. Their third string, Will Shipley, got hurt. They can't even push push anymore. And that's all the Panthers can't do is run defense. They're really bad at it. So, you know, if Philly's going to start running the ball, it's got to be in this game. Steelers, Bucks, Billy. Woohoo. You have the floor. Yay. You're home. This is a home game against the Steelers team. And Aaron Rodgers, who's been who's been winning a little bit more of late. I picked up that slot receiver from Pittsburgh and all my fantasy teams. He's been looking pretty good. Listen, I love Jalen Daniels. I do. I think he's a great backup. But Tampa's really struggling this year. I don't have a lot of hope for them to win this game. And great to get in the win column finally. But that was even a fluke against a bad or against a Dallas team that loves to let their fans down in prime time. I'm going to keep picking against him. Give me Pittsburgh. I like Pittsburgh here, too. And, you know, we talk about the NFC North as a division that's beating each other up. The AFC North is going to have a clump of teams. The Steelers win this one. Browns Ravens play each other. But, you know, if the Browns were to get the Ravens, you could have four and two, four and two, four and two, and four and two in that division. Really? Yeah. So, you know, we were thinking Bengals Ravens would be fighting for that spot before the year. But the Browns and Steelers said, hang on, we're in the mix heading into week six as well. But I will take the Steelers here to get your bucks. Yeah. DK Metcalf is eventually going to catch a pass. I think maybe he's had a couple, but he just hasn't been what he normally is. I think Pittsburgh wins this one. Let's go to the Rams. Sean McVay. I don't know if he's cooled off from that press conference when he was so upset. But you look up and you're hosting Arizona as a 12 and a half point favorite. I think this one. Well, do not do not bet that spread. The NFL spreads that high. Even my Titans, I don't touch. But no way the Cardinals win this game. Yeah. Jacoby Brissett's got a little bit more in him than that. Twelve and a half is disrespectful, honestly, for an Arizona team. This is a divisional matchup, right? So, I mean, these games are a little bit always a little closer than you think they might be. But Rams need to exercise some demons. I'm going to take them in our pick game here. Yeah. Rams should absolutely shred them. Cardinals just gave up a million points. To Detroit recently, although everyone gives up a million points to Detroit. That offense has been awesome, too. But Rams should have no problem here to the team. I cannot believe his own five. The Chargers are heading to Kansas City last season. The Chargers won this game in week one international game. Shocked everyone. And we're like, oh, look at the Chargers. And then now look at the Chargers undefeated against winless Chiefs or an eight and a half point favorite. Do you think this is like a Chargers? We're going to get right. Or are you in my camp of Chiefs? Easy. Yeah, I think it's Chiefs easy. I think the Chargers lead the NFL in turnovers with 13 this year, and that's going to continue to happen. And Kenneth Walker might score two touchdowns. Give me Kansas City. I hope he does. That would be bad for your team if that happens. Kansas City rolls here. Bills are a five and a half point favorite. Football-wise, Buffalo should handle business. Billy, let me tell you my concern. Uh-oh, what do you got? The Bills went from L.A. to Vegas. And Josh Allen said into a microphone, we just have to trust our guys to be professionals. Stay away from Vegas. Behave. I couldn't believe they stayed. We have flights. You could have gotten back to Vegas. buffalo and the wee hours well i guess it was a monday night game so tuesday you could have gotten back tuesday what do you fly back friday night saturday morning i mean we have airplanes billy i'm my my antennas are up on this vegas week i thought that's a great take i thought you were going to pick the raiders after all that i'm gonna go buffalo i like what joe brady's doing with buffalo we talked about their super bowl window earlier i think it's open when he's the coach and josh allen's the quarterback um you know the raiders start three and oh now what are they going to lose three in a row and be three and three i hate that though yeah i think we could have seen that coming even though it was a hot start if i wasn't already losing in our our race of picking games because i i try to work in a lot of upsets and it's it's hurting me i probably would go raiders here but i can't fall farther behind you guys oh you're only three behind matt and you're one ahead of me okay well i've made a little bit of climb back then i think i was struggling uh earlier you had a good week last week so you're you're back into it well the drew franklin watch out for vegas play of the week is raiders five and a half because the bills are they're rolling ice by staying in vegas this week if they've got uh circles bags underneath their eye then you're gonna know bad decision to stay in vegas watch it monday night 49ers commanders did you skip the sunday night game do you want to just not do cowboys backers oh my god well you want to get back to that you know what happened i'm on espn's uh scoreboard and they take your two favorite teams and put them at the top okay so i have the cowboys favorited so i'm going chronologically here and it completely skips it i have to scroll up there it is because it's under my favorites good catch though sunday night of course we play sunday night football games the scoreboard threw me off cowboys packers huge game one of the top two or three games this week i won't name it number one uh with seattle denver and a couple others but a huge game with maybe some nfc playoff implications here and of course the micah parsons uh drama even though he's podcasting like we are yeah it's a shame that micah's not on the field even though the packers even hasn't been bad i mean not awful but you got to look at some of the quarterbacks that they've played including my guy jalen daniels and carson wentz and agent so um we'll see dallas has had a long time to think about that loss to tampa so i think there definitely will be a sense of urgency there i think i'm inclined to actually take dallas on the road here i talk me out of it drew are you gonna take green bay at home in this one that feels like the natural pick but i'm gonna i think i'm going dallas if you'd asked me a week ago i would have gone dallas the way green bay's offense looked against the bears i know it's not you know christian watching it out they were throwing it yeah christian watching making the making those big catches taking that offense and you're hosting the cowboys defense when we just talked about how bad they are i'm gonna say this is actually a packers win and i wouldn't have said that a week ago the the results from both of these teams last sunday completely changed how i feel about them christian parker in the booth now though not on the sidelines so and the lambo booth it's way up there it's cold so like it gets a little steam on the glass a little fog maybe you'll see i can't see yeah these are things you got to consider billy jerry made him go up there yeah in the booth and now he can't see he's probably gonna take the steps fogged up yeah so that's for that reason because of fog i'm taking green bay all right you and lsu basketball i was about to say that too uh that's a good reference for people who follow the other sports now the sunday night game i tried to get to it too quickly commanders 49ers it's in san francisco san francisco is the best team in the nfc could be the best team in the nfl if they stay healthy do you want to be crazy and pick the team that couldn't even finish a game a week ago i'm out um you know i mentioned this last show but mike evans looks awesome for the 49ers he's going to need to be with debo samuel getting hurt and the electrical substation taking players one by one each week uh and i'm sure he'll pull a hamstring in a few weeks too but for now brock party looks great 49ers no doubt here yeah 49ers roll here all right that was the full slate and our picks uh we're doing good on time here billy we got a few more things before we wrap up uh you and i both have uh played a lot of games this week and we're going to be playing a lot of games this week and we're doing great here and we will uh move forward to you into our touchdown picks you want to do a little fantasy football trash talk well what's next in the timeline let's just get it out of the way i'm taking the colts and survivor okay i know i'm playing myself in survivor but yes i'm going for the entire year i will take the colts this week and then td parlay wise we all missed last week so we need to we need to like get a an easy win here well i hit a 20 to 1 td parlay the one i i made up at home with four uh players hit but i did not get the one on this show i feel like until last week we had done pretty good um matt it leads with three you have two and i have one okay five weeks so we we have struggled a little bit um i'm just gonna go ahead boy mike evans in my in my uh parlay my my parlay i did every game in the 430 window and i don't pick favorites because i like like lottery ticket parlays for that yeah all of them in the first quarter well you just start dancing around the room and then you see your eagles bet didn't cash and you're like what the heck that's true um i want to start it off here because i i like picking teams uh for of players that are on the fantasy team i'm playing against which is you this week drew thank you so give me the easy kenneth walker to score a touchdown this week i thought you were going to take uh anyone playing the titans well i tried that uh last week and it didn't work out so okay so you're going kenneth walker yep uh i have to go receiver what's our quarterback yeah what's our rule on tight ends we never clarified that is it receiver are they their own thing i think that's a pass catcher so you might okay because we've completely just eliminated them from this and i i lean on them a lot in my touchdown parlays well trey mcbride might be a good pick trey mcbride it's a great pick but i'm going dang you you kind of flipped me i was gonna say tyler warren but you did say trey no i'm going with colt tyler warren oh okay oh this is the playing the titans that's that's the move i thought you were gonna do it so then when you took when you took a running back that eliminated jonathan taylor so i'm just gonna go to the other team and i'm gonna go with the other colt that's gonna probably both have a formula here we'll see if it works out yeah and this terrible uh td parlay list this year with us having only two and one points i will say the titans defense isn't i mean they're not great but they're not the big problem so i'm when i say i'm picking against you know who's gonna score a touchdown on the titans my issues are more offensively but i'm still gonna roll with the cold here because i think it'll be titans fans they're not historically bad they're just bad okay so and you got to give them anything right now are you out on cam ward like should they draft another quarterback no we have to stop doing this i said this before cam ward i want i liked cam ward if we were going to get a quarterback here's my first pick but then on draft night a trade popped up that we could have taken we can't just keep drafting quarterbacks and put them in a terrible offense malik willis will levis cam ward who's next we can do this all day you gotta fix everything else yeah this is a long rebuild there is not a quarterback in college football who is just gonna show up and fix things that does not exist at least in nashville i'm yeah i'm just worried about you guys having a fan base stadium next the timing of this could not be worse yeah here i go again i gotta stop all right let's pick a quarterback for matt do you want to do it sure we gotta have him on record yeah we gotta have uh i feel like it's a matt stafford week it's a matt stafford week yeah what's the worst pick we can give him who's the stafford the most yeah i think he wants okay all right we'll give him we'll give him stafford and then i don't know i think he hold on he's calling oh you want to oh he's too no he's sticking with stafford all right matthew stafford okay that's officially just has a rushing touchdown in his nfl career because that'd be the perfect bet for matt oh let's i can pull that up on the fly okay i feel like that's a good pick did uh has your boy jalen daniels gotten one no i know you missed it two weeks ago very close he's a rushing quarterback so if you're looking for a quarterback to score a touchdown maybe later on this year i think he's definitely in the running but uh he has not scored yet it's it's been tough to score for us too drew not just you matthew stafford has 15 rushing tds come on but none since the year 2016 so it's been 10 years early on you know he's scrammed a little bit looks like but uh a bunch of zeros on this uh on this uh stat split on the ashton bay probably told him you're not running anymore you just throw it to puku nakua every single time and you'll be fine but all right so stafford warren walker as our uh touchdown parlay today was a fun
