News and Rankings Changes: Ashton Jeanty Injured, Giants Sign Najee Harris, and Silva's Top-150 Changes (Episode 1013 with Evan Silva and Adam Levitan)
72m 17s
In this episode of the podcast, hosts Adam Levitan and Evan Silva discuss key training camp and preseason developments, adjusting fantasy rankings accordingly. The biggest story is Ashton Jeanty’s ankle sprain, which turned out to be minor, keeping him as a top-20 pick, while Mike Washington emerges as a top handcuff. Keenan Allen’s signing with the Colts creates a crowded receiver room, lowering Josh Downs’ value, though Alec Pierce remains a bargain. Malik Nabers is on track for Week 1, boosting his stock to 26th overall. The Giants also signed Najee Harris, potentially reducing Cam Scattaboo’s role, and Alvin Kamara’s MCL injury elevates Travis Etienne’s outlook. Jordan Tyson’s two-month absence opens opportunities for Chris Olave and Juwan Johnson, while George Kittle’s activation makes him a high-ceiling tight end pick. DeJean Stribbling’s strong preseason is noted, but his role is uncertain, and Sam LaPorta’s hip issue is a buying opportunity. The Browns’ quarterback situation remains messy, but Casey Concepcion is a target. Keishan Booty’s trade to the Texans boosts Nico Collins, though David Montgomery remains a workhorse. Other notes include Jaden Reed’s clear role, Terrence Ferguson’s versatility, and Jalen Waddle’s status as the Broncos’ top receiver. Overall, the hosts emphasize targeting value in mid-round picks and handcuffs, while being cautious with aging veterans and poor offensive environments.

Hello and welcome to episode 1,013 of The Official,
established the run.com podcast.
My name is Adam Levitan.
I am one of the co-founders here at ETR,
as always joined by fellow co-founder Evan Silva,
and we are just two short weeks away from week one.
Almost makes you feel happy to be alive.
Evan, how's it going today?
- It's going great, I'm ready for it.
- On today's show, we will be discussing
what has happened at training camps
and in preseason games over the last seven days
and how we should be adjusting our fantasy rankings.
We will also go over Silva's latest rank changes and more.
I do want to note that our draft kit,
and frankly, all of our content is not for everyone.
All of our content is aimed at the top
one to five percent of fantasy players.
And frankly, it's created by people
who play these games or played these games professionally.
That's why all the sharpest people use our rankings
when they draft at the highest stakes
to get access to all of our rankings
and all of our content, you need the draft kit.
It's just $54.99 for details on what comes in draft kit,
head to establishtherun.com, again,
that is the draft kit on establishtherun.com.
All right, let's get into it here.
Silva's story number one comes from Las Vegas
and it is the Ashton Genti ankle sprain
heard around the world.
When this first happened, you would have thought
that Ashton Genti was on his deathbed,
a prayer circle, a moment of silence.
Genti has helped off the field.
He can't put any weight on his leg.
And then a couple of days later, Evan,
we find out it's an ankle sprain.
And listen, with all due respect,
if my teammates did a prayer circle for me
and then it turned out to be an ankle sprain,
I don't think I could face the team again.
I just have to retire right there on the spot.
So sounds now like not only did Ashton Genti
avoid serious injury, but it might not
be a high ankle sprain.
Sounds like it could be a low ankle sprain
and he has not been ruled out for week one yet.
So Evan, thoughts on the genty thing
and higher handling him in the rankings?
- Yeah, and the quote going around
is that the ankle sprain is more low than high.
And so, I mean, that's a big difference to me.
Right now, I think if Ashton Genti
had suffered an actual high ankle sprain,
he would not be playing week one, maybe not week two,
maybe not week three.
I wound up moving him down just a little bit.
I had him as my 14th overall player.
He's now my 18th overall player.
He did move down one tier from the bottom
of the previous tier to the top of tier three
in my running back tiers.
I'm sorry, the bottom of tier three to the top of tier four.
So it's a little bit of a change.
I mean, he's entering the season.
He's not probably gonna be at 100%.
There's also been a lot of positive buzz
about Mike Washington.
Now, Mike Washington, if you go back to his career in college,
he played a bunch of different schools
and was never, despite having sensational athleticism,
I mean, freak show, athleticism, incredible speed score,
all that kind of stuff, was never a true workhorse in college,
despite playing five years in college.
And so that's, I think we can characterize him
as somewhat of an underachiever
and also a player that might shine in training camp practices.
Might shine in preseason games against players
that are against defenders that are clearly
much less athletic than him.
With that said, I mean, I think that he's one
of the top handcuffs.
He might get a start in week one.
And at which point he would be like flex viable.
But yeah, I mean, I did wind up moving
Ash and Gentie down a little bit.
- Yeah, so on Gentie first, we were at 12 overall.
On Gentie and the ETR ranks, we have gone to 18 overall
here on him.
- So we're in a lot of stuff.
- Yeah, I mean, there's still risk here, right?
Like, it could be worse, you could aggravate,
ankle sprains aren't great.
But I think the most likely scenario here
is Gentie turns out to be fine.
He doesn't play week one.
So I don't want to go crazy on this.
If we get more positive news,
we'll probably keep ticking him up here a little bit.
But for now, you know, anywhere around that two, three turn,
anywhere between like 18 and 24,
I kind of think Gentie is a solid pick there.
Yeah, Mike Washington.
So Mike Washington was one of the stars of the combine.
Like Evan said, when you're an athletic freak,
it's easy to smash the combine,
easy to smash, training camp practices.
In preseason games, he has been unreal.
15 carries, 119 yards, no touchdowns,
also caught two balls for 18 yards on just 45 snaps.
So I think Mike Washington, given Gentie's ankle injury,
deserves to get moved up decently.
We are up to 164 on Mike Washington in the ETR ranks
with just outside of top 150.
I think if I was drafting now, though,
I would make Mike Washington a bit more of a priority
than that.
I do think handcuffs are worth more in redraft formats.
And I just did update in favorite flyers.
Partically, you can find my rankings of handcuffs.
I did move Mike Washington to three overall
in my handcuff rankings there.
So yeah, I do think Mike Washington is very,
very draft about this point as the bench piece
and see what happens.
And I have them at 143 overall,
but the way that I've always done my top 150
because there is a cut off at 150.
And I'm not jamming in like wide receiver sixes
and wide receiver sevens.
I jam in backup running backs
into the bottom of the top 150
because once you get your lineup drafted,
the majority of your bench,
like it's worth stashing backup running backs
at the end of your bench.
And Mike Washington is a priority.
- Hopefully you guys caught our show on draft strategy.
Talked about that a bunch.
I love, I think you should be using your bench
for players like Mike Washington.
That's the perfect place to use them
on a season long bench.
All right, let's go to story number two.
This is from last Wednesday.
Keenan Allen signs a one year
up to $8 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts.
This one was long speculated for a lot of reasons.
The Shane Steikin connection between Keenan,
the Colts desperate for pass catching help.
Now we add short area Keenan to short area Tyler Warren
and, in theory at least, short area Josh Downsville.
I know he's done some vertical stuff.
So Evan, what was your reaction or thoughts
on the Keenan Allen signing from last week?
- I think it was fairly expected.
And now we have to figure out whether or not Keenan Allen
who is a very much a trusted veteran
is always going to run very crisp routes
and be where the quarterback expects him to be.
And those are big things to a quarterback.
Big things to an offensive minded coach like Shane Steikin.
Is he at any point going to jump ahead of Josh Downs
and two receiver sets?
You know, that's the thing that we have to monitor.
It sounds like Shane Steikin.
By the way, one of the best offensive coaches
in the league.
Let's not lose sight of that when we're thinking
about drafting players like Jonathan Taylor,
even Alec Pierce, you know, Josh Downs,
even like on down to Seth McGowan.
Seth McGowan, by the way, is a player that I have jammed
into the bottom of my top 150 in as long as he maintains
that number two running back job in Indianapolis.
He is a guy that I want to have at the end of my bench
in season long redraft.
But that's what we're going to be monitoring
as we approach the season is Kenan Allen going to jump
into two receiver sets.
It sounds like Steikin wants to give that opportunity
to Josh Downs and he hasn't done anything so far
in training camp or preseason to dissuade Steikin
from leaving him there.
Kenan Allen is 34 years old.
34 years old playing wide receiver in the NFL
is not something that typically goes well.
We also saw big signs of decline last year, late in the year,
from Kenan.
But what has not declined on Kenan?
It's his ability to command targets.
So I don't want to brush this off.
I think it matters.
Now I do think they'll start with Alec Pierce,
more on him in a second, and Josh Downs
as their primary wide receivers.
But Josh Downs is 171 pounds.
Pierce is off this injury, you know,
historically been a deep threat only,
Ken Downs survive and run blocking.
I think there's a lot of questions here
that could lead to more snaps for Kenan Allen.
So we have gotten lower on Josh Downs
and the ETR ranks were now at 97 overall.
And part of that reason is also because
the Alec Pierce ankle thing sounds like it's trending
in the right way.
He's expected to return to practice this week
if all goes according to plan.
Obviously they keep saying this and it doesn't happen.
But hopefully this week it actually does happen.
And then also Tyler Warren who had a growing issue,
he sounds like he's gonna be fine.
He's probably gonna set out practice this week,
but they said they still think
that he's gonna be fine for week one.
So it's just this short area is getting crowded.
So unless you think Josh Downs at 171
can stay on the field enough
in run blocking situations can get vertical.
It's just getting a little bit tougher for me
on Josh Downs.
So yeah, I'm much higher on Josh Downs.
And that's because I think he's really, really good.
And I think he's got just as good a chance
as any of these other guys to lead the Colton receiving.
And he's being given this opportunity from Shane Steichen,
which speaks to how good that Shane Steichen
believes that Josh Downs is, so I'm going to continue to be very aggressive on Josh.
for me, he's been a priority in drafts all off season.
And I think that he will remain that leading industry.
- Yeah, you might get a little dip in ADP here.
I'm seeing homely ADP right now around 106 on Josh Downs.
So we're still ahead of market on Josh Downs here
in the ETR ranks at 97.
I still think you can get them there,
depending on what kind of league you're in.
In more competitive stuff like in higher stake stuff,
whatever, Alec Pierce has really been slipping.
And when Alec Pierce gets to like that 110, 120 range,
which I've seen him get to,
I've typically been a buyer there.
I know it's risky, but man, that is a really cheap price
there on Alec Pierce.
Story three, some positive injury news here,
Evan Malik neighbors sheds the non-contact injury
at Giants Camp and Harbaugh says it's reasonable to assume
that Malik neighbors will play week one.
I mean, it's crazy how smooth this ramp up has been.
He's practiced a ton, no setbacks, reportedly looks great.
Now he's taking contact and we still have over two weeks
until the season starts.
So Evan, how high are you willing to get on Malik neighbors?
Now that seems pretty likely he's playing week one.
- Yeah, I mean, I think that the writing on the wall
was there for this to be, you know, in the offing
when Malik neighbors was practicing
on the first day of training camp.
I mean, he avoided PUP to begin Giants Camp.
I know he started out in individual jails.
It's been a gradual, very successful.
It seems ramp up for Malik neighbors.
And now it comes down to like,
how much do you trust Jackson Dart to get him the ball?
How much do you trust Matt Nagy?
I mean, there are still like looming red flags here,
but there's no question about Malik neighbors talent
and there's been no question along the way
since training camp started about his recovery.
I mean, he's done this like gangbusters.
I've even seen some of the Twitter doctors come out
and be like, it looks like he's gonna prove me wrong, you know?
I mean, he's been all timetables.
He's really, really young.
He talked about how he's younger than a bunch of dudes
that were drafted, that bunch of wide receivers
that were drafted this year.
And Malik neighbors will be entering
with his third NFL season.
I mean, I feel very good about him.
It's just the environment is still not quite ideal,
but how much do you trust Jackson Dart?
It seemed like during our draft,
we did a draft with Leoni, Levitan, Levitan and I,
I'm an FFPC, $2200 entry draft.
And it seemed like you're still really high on Jackson Dart.
Yeah, just the rushing ability of Dart,
more than anything else, I think is what matters.
But yeah, Malik neighbors just turned 23.
So the thing is, Silva, there's been so much positive buzz
about this at your current rank.
You have Malik neighbors 32.
It's gonna be tough to get him there.
And at ETR ranks, we're at 26 overall.
I think you might be able to get him there,
but more positive news and maybe not.
And the reason that we're sticking
with this 26 overall on neighbors is 'cause frankly,
he's coming off an ACL tear.
He's coming off a Mniskus tear.
He has Matt Nagy as his offensive coordinator.
There's still like risk there to get higher than 26 overall,
even if he does play week one,
I think is kind of a stretch for me.
So I feel good about where Malik neighbors is at.
If you want to just throw all risk out the window though,
I could see him taking, I could see taking him closer
to the Drake London range there in round two.
The other note from Giants Camp that I had,
Evan, this Malachi field stuff.
The reports are that Malachi fields is beating out
both Darius Slayton and Darnel Mooney already.
Are you buying that, Evan, at any interest for you
on Malachi fields as a mega late flyer?
- Yeah, I mean, I think that in the 18 and 20 round,
you know, best ball drafts and in deeper like in FFPC,
we have what, 10 bench spots like Malachi fields
should absolutely be rostered.
It's not entirely surprising to me.
So Malachi fields was a transfer to Notre Dame.
He goes and plays there last year with a freshman quarterback
in CJ Carr and they really just asked him to run one route
and that was a vertical route.
Every once in a while, they throw him a screen.
But he was the down field stretcher for Notre Dame.
And he was very successful, but because of that role,
he would disappear for long stretches
because it was a super, super high A dot
and not a ton of like target volume.
So it was a little bit hard to assess with it,
with a freshman quarterback,
a team that had two first round running backs,
you know, they had a lot of talent.
And then he goes to the senior bowl
and he ripped it up.
Malachi fields ripped it up at the senior bowl.
People were like, oh, well he can run these routes.
He, you know, he can do different things
and just run goes all day.
And then he gets a training camp and he's still tearing it up.
So yeah, I mean, I absolutely am buying that Malachi fields
has a really good chance to open the season
as the X receiver opposite Malachi.
- You know, I think they'll start with the rotation, right?
Like you'll see fields and you'll see moody
and you'll see slain if fields can keep this up
and it becomes an every down player.
That's where it becomes more interesting to me.
But yeah, I mean, we're not gonna get much higher than,
you know, 190, 200 overall, something like that on him
for now.
But yeah, like I've said, in deeper leagues,
I think he's an interesting bench piece
there at the wide receiver position.
- One other thing about Jackson Dart
is that in his final season at Ole Miss,
he had one of the, I think he had actually
the highest passing ADOT in the nation that year.
He doesn't have the strongest arm,
but like down field throws like that,
like deep shots are not necessarily true arm strength throws.
And so I think that that kind of matches up
with the skill set of Jackson Dart.
What Malachi fields can do down the field?
- And that's why I'm kind of on Dart in fantasy
reminds me of the criticisms of Josh Allen.
Early in his career, he runs too wild.
He runs too much, he's out of control.
He's gonna get hurt running.
Oh, and he throws too deep.
His completion percentage is low.
He's a wild man.
I want a wild man as my fantasy quarterback.
I want them throwing deep and running.
So yeah, I like--
- Throwing deep and running is sexy and fantasy.
- For sure.
- All right.
Oh, story four, also from the Giants.
So Giants signed free agent running back Naji Harris.
This was last week.
I want to be clear here.
Zero guaranteed dollars in Naji Harris's deal.
This is a one year, $1.2 million contract.
He's 28 years old, coming off into Kili's tear,
and the eye thing.
So my first thing is to just brush this off,
whatever he may not make the team.
But man, I feel like Naji Harris is loved by Harbaugh.
I don't trust these boomers.
Harbaugh and Negi.
And second Evan, Tyrone Tracy has had the worst preseason.
I can recall for somewhat of an incumbent running back.
So what do you make of the Naji Harris signing Evan
and the outlook for Giants' backfield?
Well, I'll be doing a tweet here after this show.
I'm gonna do a tweet on each team.
I like it.
One note on each team, each week until the season starts.
And then once the season starts,
I think I'll do like a top 10, top 15 takeaways
from the previous week.
But in that, I'm gonna talk about how Naji Harris
and Cam Scattaboo's skill sets really overlap.
So look, Tyrone Tracy has maybe played himself
off the Giants roster.
I do think he will be on NNFL roster to start the season.
So don't throw away your Tyrone Tracy shares whatsoever.
There are so many backup running back spots
throughout the league that are open
and the Tyrone Tracy would upgrade.
Like he's gonna be on an NFL roster.
But in terms of skill set, like Naji Harris
and Cam Scattaboo are almost interchangeable.
Scattaboo is what, 220 pounds.
Naji's like 230.
They're both four six guys.
They're both coming off severe injuries.
And they both can pass protect
and play in the passing game.
They can really be used interchangeably.
I think that this will,
I think that Naji Harris is gonna play a lot,
quite possibly to start the season
at the expense of Cam Scattaboo.
And then yeah, maybe Tyrone Tracy,
maybe he'll hang around as the third back,
but he's gonna end up on a roster no matter what.
Yeah, I mean, Silver's gone to 64 overall on Scattaboo.
We're at 49 overall on Scattaboo.
ADP is hanging in there.
38 overall is redraft ADP on Scattaboo.
- People love Cam Scattaboo.
- And again, like the way he scores points
is really good for fantasy.
I just, yeah, I agree that we also got lower on Cam Scattaboo
off the Naji Harris signing is the bottom line.
And yeah, he's not really a target for me there
in that round four range.
They also have, the Giants also still have Devon Singletary
in some beat writers,
at least before the Naji Harris signing
thought the Devon Singletary was headed for a role.
Another guy who the coaches can trust to pass protect
and like do things right.
- On the official Dept Sharta they released,
which is pretty meaningless,
but they did list Scattaboo as the starter.
And then at RB2 they listed Naji or Tracy or Singletary,
you know, all three of them, so yeah.
All right, following up from last week's story number five,
Jordan Tyson timeline is out,
expected to miss roughly two months.
So we talked about Tyson on the lead of this show seven days ago.
Two months, this two month timeline
from the August 13th injury would be roughly week six.
That is problematic because the Saints play in Paris,
which I know Evan is thrilled about.
They play in Paris.
in week seven and then they have a week eight buy, do the saints. So if it's close,
maybe Jordan Tyson sits out to the buy and comes back week nine. I do want to say, though, Evan,
like these timelines so far out on soft tissue, everybody's so different. I don't know where they
got this timeline from. I just don't know that I buy it. Like I think he could come back sooner
than two months. He could come back later than two months. You know, it's not like you broke a
bone and we have a ton of data on exactly how long it takes to heal. So Evan, thoughts on
handling Jordan Tyson in drafts right now after we have this timeline. I mean, I totally agree
with everything that you just said. I think he could come back sooner. I think he could come back
later. And I think that it's largely unpredictable because of the nature of the injury itself.
I think that the real conversation to have here is, you know, what moves are we making around
Jordan Tyson, like almost certainly being out for the first three to four weeks? If not,
the first the first half of the season, Olave, you're feeling great about Chris Olave. You know,
you've talked about Devon Vale, that makes a lot of sense as a guy who can, you know, maybe give
you some five catch 75 yard in a touchdown weeks early in the season in an offense that we expect
to be very, very productive playing indoors. By the way, I've been talking to Underhill lately.
And he was talking, he was talking about at the start of Camp Tyler Shock was not performing well,
early in training camp. He's been balling lately. So that helped, that helps us with our confidence
level in him. You know, a defense is probably not going to be very good that you have to account for.
And then this huge opening with no Jordan Tyson who, when he jumped into practice,
looked like the best player on the field at Saints Training Camp. And also, I, like, I'm a big
fan of John of John Johnson. We talked about him on that draft that we, that live draft that we
did. I have him as my tight end 11. You know, he had 77 catches and 889 yards last season. I think
he will be a fantasy starter at least, like in every week fantasy starter, at least until Jordan
Tyson returns. Yeah. You know, going back to Tyson, the deeper your benches, if you have an
IR spot, that stuff matters. And I would make Tyson a pretty intriguing pick for me. We did take him
in that FFPC Lee. We have 10 bench spots. We can afford to hold him. And if he comes back early,
it's going to look like we got an incredible price. I mean, an incredible price. If he comes back
sometime between say we two, three, four, five, something like that. So I do think he's a really
interesting guy to take there. I just want to say I don't trust him to sustain health when he gets
back. This guy's had four hamstring injuries in the last 12 months. So it's going to be a celebration.
Yeah. We got Tyson back. It's week four. It's week four. We got Tyson back.
You know, I know I'm like a glass half empty kind of guy, but I'm going to be like holding my breath
that he doesn't aggravate again because we've seen this before with Christian Watson. And we've
seen it before with Jordan Tyson. So definitely a lot, a lot to think about there with that stuff.
Oh, last thing on this, I did find it, you know, somewhat encouraging that there were rumors.
The Saints would trade for Cachon booty. The Patriots and we'll get to this trade in a minute.
The Patriots did not give up a lot to get Cachon booty. So it was a little bit vote of confidence
to me for Valle, Juan Johnson, their young guys that they didn't go out and pursue booty stronger.
All sort of number six also had a Saints camp. Alvin Camera out at least a month with a
sprained MCL. He sustained this knee injury during joint practice with the Cowboys. So it's starting
to really pile up on red flags with Alvin Camera. 31 years old was one of the worst running backs
in the NFL last season. Saint seemingly wanted to release him this off season, bring him back on
a revised contract. Now he has an MCL sprained. He does have a little bit of a history of knee issues.
So it seems really bleak right now for Camera. Evan, have you made any moves around this one?
There's been drafting a lot more Travis H&N. Oh, don't. Are we going to call him H&N?
No, I'm sticking with ETN. I can't. Okay, fine. If you're sticking with ETN,
it's too confusing and I have enough problem with guys' names already. I'm sticking with ETN.
Okay. Travis, the name police are going to hate us. Okay. Well, they already hate us. So, who cares?
Travis, ETN. I just, I had this lingering concern that because Alvin Camera is like a saint's
Hall of Famer. Maybe a real life Hall of Famer plays an entire career with the saints. He's
like a legend in New Orleans. Like really considered like a great dude off the field as well. A legacy
that by the saints retaining him, that they would maybe use him at the expense of Travis, ETN,
primarily in goal line where he's always been awesome and passing situations where he's always
been awesome. And now with that off the table, like I want Travis, ETN on my teams, we drafted him
in that draft that we did the FFPC Live with us. Yeah, one of my most clicked players in round 4
is Travis, ETN, you know, we're up to 35 overall on him, actually 32 overall for us in the half
PPR ranks on ETR against an ADP around 41. So yeah, decently. I met 33. Yeah, both of us decently
had a market here on ETN and I like that. Story seven. So no surprise here, but George Kiddell
officially activated from the active slash PUP list. Ever since those videos of Kiddell came out
from the tight end university thing, this was like two or three months ago, I've been on Kiddell
ever since then. Maybe he plays week one, but I think more likely he stays behind the team goes
to Australian week one and he plays week two. So this is going to make his ADP rise Evan. We have
been assuming Kiddell is going to be playing pretty much every game the whole way here. So we're not
going to have a rank change. There will be an ADP change though on this thoughts on handling Kiddell
right now. I have not been quite as high as you on George Kiddell, but I don't think that anybody
is quite as high as you have been on George Kiddell. Well, I don't know. You're in the super high
stakes nosebleed, you know, streets on draft Kings. I mean, I've gotten a decent amount of him
in my drafts. I've liked building 49er stacks with George Kiddell who's like one of the cheaper
pieces. At the end of the day, like I can build like a pretty strong bear case for George Kiddell,
you know, he's a player who has always thrived off of low volume and thrived because he's super,
super explosive. Is he going to have that a level of explosiveness coming back from the Achilles
at age 33? You know, it's an easy bear case to build, but because his cost has been so affordable,
I don't I feel like I have not been bearish on. Yeah, he's been cheap. That's where I'm at with him.
He's been cheap, but in in redraft, we're actually behind. Like I think we're kind of high at
108 overall. I'm killing not high, but I like our rank 108 overall in Kiddell. His redraft ADP
is around 92. And this is something that I wrote about in the exploiting the default rankings
article and also in draft strategy article that you guys can check out in draft kit, but
the mid range tight ends and later round tight ends are going really high in redrafts. So there's
adjustments to make make there for sure. Check out the exploiting articles, but
yeah, I like Kiddell. I don't want to reach up to into the 80s and 90s to get him for the
reasons that Evan said. But my main like bowl case on Kiddell is that the bar to clear at tight end
scoring is so low and Kiddell's one week ceiling is historically so high. It's just like an asymmetric
bet if he's cheap enough where there's just not that much downside in round 10 11. And at tight
end, if you score 20 in a week or 30 in a week, you could just lap everyone and Kiddell certainly
has that in him. Speaking of the 49ers, Mike Evans has been sitting out a lot of practice. Meanwhile,
does on scribbling continues to smash. So the Evan's thing, like people are worried about it.
I don't know if you've even seen this Evan, but Mike Evans is like pulled himself out of practice,
had a quad thing. He watched. He came back. Then he watched. It just feels to me like
he's old. It's veteran rest. He doesn't want to go through the whole camp, etc. So I'm not that
worried about it, but in itself that he can't or doesn't want to go to every practice. I guess
is a mild concern. Evan, any thoughts on these scribbling Mike Evans dynamic right now?
Yeah, the Mike Evans stuff scares me because I've been really high on him. Number one,
yeah, I've been drafting a lot of him. And I mean, he's he's going to be 33. So yeah, I mean,
any sort of concern about him is especially concerning to me personally.
When you sort of zoom out like Christian McCaffrey until very recently wasn't practicing at all.
It seems like the 49ers have had their older veterans on regimented plans during training camp.
This is the longest training camp ever. As we've discussed, the season starts a week later than usual,
and you know, the training camps weren't moved back. The season wasn't shortened.
So it makes all the sense in the world for NFL teams to especially when they've had as many
injuries as the 49ers did at the outset of training camp to take it really easy on guys that they
might have a little bit of injury concerns about during the season. And they don't
need to practice a ton. I prefer and we prefer by decent margin. Devante Adams over Mike Evans.
You know, if you're in that old wide receiver range in the mid-arounds there, I like both of them,
but I do prefer Devante Adams. We'll get some more on him there. In a second, one thing, though,
about Mike Evans is that we've kind of stayed static with his rank. We're at 51.
Market, it just doesn't want to click Mike Evans. They're down to 63 overall in the redraft for ADP
right now on Mike Evans. The one that people do want to click is Jerry Rice. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
DeJean Stribbling is the one that they do want to click. DeJean Stribbling, Evan,
has run 22 routes this preseason. 22 routes. On those 22 routes, he's called 11 passes
for 109 yards, no touchdowns, and also the reports out of camp and joint practices is also
that Stribbling is smashing. The question now is, is he a good pick? I mean, clearly, he's a good
pick. It's at what price are you willing to get up to him? We're still down at 114 overall on
Stribbling. May not be able to get him at 114 overall anymore. So, Evan, what do you think about him?
I have them all the way up at 87. So, you're definitely going to have a chance to get
just one Stribbling if you're using my rankings. Here's one of the issues early in the season,
okay? We got Mike Evans. Debo Samuel, Mike Evans should open the season as an every down player.
You got Debo Samuel, who I think will probably open the season as maybe like a 40 to 60 percent
player. And then you got DeMarcus Robinson, who, you know, I know that he's not like, you know,
anybody, you know, it's like a dynamic talent, but he is a player who will get on the field,
coaches, trust him, et cetera. I mean, he's logged big playing time percentages in his past.
So, where does Deswan Stribbling fit into that? You know, I'm not entirely sure. I think they
want him to play the Jawan Jennings role, like a more athletic version of the Jawan Jennings big slot.
So, but when everybody's healthy, the Jawan Jennings role is like the big slot, who doesn't
necessarily is not necessarily an every down player. I don't know. I just, I think that there's a
lot of moving parts and there will be moving parts during the season as well. We don't know if
Kittles is going to be ready week one. That could mean Jake Tongus. When Kittles comes back,
we could see a lot of two tight end sets with Kittles and Jake Tongus. You know, there's,
there's just, there's going to be a lot of moving parts and we're going to have to, you know,
just kind of figure our way out, our way through that as the season progresses because you got
a bunch of dudes who have had injury histories that are aging. It's going to be a lot of moving
parts in San Francisco throughout the season. So, get ready for that when you're, when you're drafting
49 players. So, I think that the way that scribbling pays off this 87 that that Silva has him at
here is if something happens to someone else, McCaffrey, Evans, Kittles, something like that,
and you open up a way more opportunity for scribbling and then he will beat this 87. You know,
and I think that's likely. I mean, these guys are so old and frail. I think it's likely. It's just
a bit of a contingent bet. I think at 87, you know, I like him a lot. I think he's going to have a
good year. I don't think I'd be taking him over like really established guys, but I don't want to
say bad things about scribbling, man. I mean, looks absolutely incredible, absolutely incredible.
I'm really curious where he goes. It's really, I think it's really going to vary like league by league
and draft by draft, how high, uh, scribbling goes in kind of redraft settings. I saw Dwayne McFarlane
who used to do stuff for ETR took him at like in the fifth round of some industry draft. Yeah,
definitely. I don't think that's a good bet, but gosh, I mean, I mean at 87, he's what like a seventh
or eighth round pick like I don't think that's crazy. Um, oh, last 49ers note. So Caitlin Black got
back to practice before Jordan James and reportedly played well. Jordan James got back in practice
Saturday. So the competition is back on between those two. I still think Caitlin Black is likely
or to win it, but I know the prospect bros prefer Jordan James profile. I think it's a battle. I just
want to note on this before anyone gets too, too excited. Debo Sam was going to do some running
back stuff. Maybe he gets three carries. Maybe he gets five. If Christian McAfry was out, maybe he
gets six or seven carries, you know, like Debo is going to take some of that running back stuff,
making it not the cleanest handcuffs spot that I have seen. And yes, as Evan alluded to, Christian
McAfry seemingly good back in practice. And he said it was a planned absence for the last couple
weeks for him from practice. All right, story nine Detroit. Sam Laporta has a hip issue. ADP
is sinking on Sam Laporta in a big way here. Remember, he was coming off of that fully herniated
disc that ended his 2025 season needed back surgery. Now he gets a quote unquote minor hip aggravation
scares me because hip and back issues can certainly be connected. But man, I'm really tempted to
buy the dip here. Evan, have been handling the Sam Laporta news.
He has sort of naturally moved down just a couple of notches in my top 150, but I have not actively
moved him down because I just I can't get him below Harold Fanon. He's right next to Harold Fanon
and I'm not going to move him below Harold Fanon with all the crap that's going on in Cleveland
right now. And just the how diametrically opposite the offensive situations are between Detroit
and Cleveland. Like I'm going to bet bet on that if it's even close at all, I'm going to bet on
the dude that plays in Detroit in that Sam Laporta. I have moved up Jamison Williams though a little
bit as a contingency because historically the onoff splits regarding Sam Laporta have very much
affected Jamison Williams. I think Jamison Williams is going to be awesome regardless. I think the
John Morton really messed that up in the first half of last season. That's why Gain Campbell
pulled the reins back from him and got everything right and Jamison Williams was a league winner
in the second half of the season. And also Drew Pettson comes in. He's willing to throw the absolute
cover off the ball as we saw with what he did last year with Jacobi Berset in Arizona. So I think
Jamison Williams is going to be great regardless and he's a priority pick leading into week one.
But I did move him up a little bit in my rankings to make sure that people are getting him
because Sam Laporta has been up. So there's certainly risk here because I said like hip
and back it scares me a little bit. But I want to be buying the dip here on Laporta just because I
want to bet on lion's stuff. I've talked a million times about why I want to bet on lion's stuff.
I also think the Drew Pettson tight end scheming history stuff is a positive here for Laporta. And yeah,
I mean, you know, Jamison Williams like this is why like the running back heavy starts and you can go
back and listen to the draft strategy pod for more, but you know, guys like burden and Jamison Williams
and Christian Watson and Parker Washington and Downs and Addison and all these guys, you know,
Devonta Adams, Mike Evans. There's just so many wider series to the mid range that I like and I
would consider Jamison Williams one of those strong ones in there also. Story 10 comes out of Cleveland.
Evan just mentioned it. Dishon Watson has been named the Browns week one starter beating out
Shader Sanders for that job. This comes just like a couple days after Dishon Watson literally called
out Browns fans because they booed him at the preseason game. He called it disrespectful and personalized.
Just an absolute unmitigated disaster from the moment they signed Dishon Watson. I don't really
see the point of starting him in week one, Evan, but it's not like Shader Sanders is any better
any thoughts on Browns quarterback situation. I think that the point of starting Dishon Watson
has very much to do with first of all, they can't get him off the roster for salary cap purposes.
They have to keep him on the roster and then he comes off next off season. If they, if they like
were to release him now, then he hurts their 2027 cap. So he's going to be on the team.
It's just what they're going to do is they're going to let him play himself out of the job in two
road games to start the season and he's going to be terrible because he is terrible. And then
they're going to come back home in week three and they're going to start Shader Sanders and the
entire Brown stadium is just going to erupt and he's going to be the hero and I don't know if Shader
Sanders is going to play well. He probably won't. Brandon Thorn has the Browns offensive line 31st
in the NFL, which by the way, it's a YouTube comment. I need to address this. A YouTube
commenter criticized me for using Brandon Thorn's citing Brandon Thorn's offensive line rankings.
All the time, like, you know, ETR pays Brandon Thorn for his offensive line rankings and they're
awesome. So yes, I think that it's, I think I should be citing Brandon Thorn's offensive line
rankings and I'm going to continue despite the efforts of the YouTube commenters to stop me.
But so Shader Sanders, I think we'll start in week three in the home game in front of the
home crowd and it's going to be a great reception and we'll see how he plays but I think that that's
the plan. If the Browns are smart. Now knowing the Browns, they're not even this smart but to me,
this would be a smart plan. What do you think about how this affects the rest of them?
Because nobody in redraft wants to click Browns, right? Like,
Juggins, we have 58 overall. Actually, people do want to click Juggins. He's going 45 overall.
But Fanon, actually, Fanon goes really high too. Wow. He goes 70th overall in redraft. We're at 94
but Concepcion, Boston, we are ahead of March.
it on any guys on Cleveland you actually want to draft Evan Juggins fan in
Conception Boston. Well I know with it we had it reserved for the end of the show
but Casey Conception is a player that I moved up considerably. I think he's still
yeah I think I kept him in the same tier but I moved them up six spots and I was
getting him at 47 overall I'm sorry wide receiver 47. I'm like definitely
going to get him now at wide receiver 41 which is where I moved him. I just I
think he's awesome. I think he's awesome. I think that Todd Monkin thinks that
Casey Conception is awesome. I think that he's going to run a lot of high
percentage stuff which will make him at least a little bit quarterback proof
whereas Denzel Boston who the buzz has sort of died on him a little bit and
it's really transferred over to Casey Conception. Denzel Boston is going to run
lower percentage stuff as an X receiver you know behind a bad offensive line
with probably poor quarterback play. I don't know maybe he'll hit a few big plays
over the course of the season but I think that Casey Conception is going to get
the ball a lot and he would be the Browns priority target for me. Yeah I like
it. Very cheap for around one wide receiver who has a ton of opportunity
there in front of him two more notes for me on the Browns. First of all I
think we're gonna have to throw away more this year you know no miles Garrett the
defense is certainly worse they are gonna have to throw more this year obviously
that's built into our rankings and second just from like a team level
perspective they have some really young nice pieces they just need a quarterback
so like starting Watson Shader winning three or four games and then they go to
this 2027 draft class with one of the top picks and they have the Rams first
round pick also by the way like actually like with Cleveland's doing from a
team building perspective long term it's just going to be tough this year for
sure. Story 11 trade Patriots trade Keishan booty to the Texans they send
Jaylen Reed and a round seven pick back to the Patriots so you know Keishan
booty the Patriots finally had something of a hit at the draft a wide
receiver they've been so bad at drafting wide receivers booty I thought was a
hit for them relative to price and yet they still trade him away for dust
like it's still unclear to me why they felt the need to dump Keishan booty so
bad and they didn't really get a lot back they got a backup safety and a round
seven pick so Evan thoughts on this trade booty to the Texans in the wake of
Jayden Higgins ACL tear I read Mike Reese one of the best beat writers for a
long time covering the Patriots his synopsis of why the Patriots traded
Keishan booty it was just almost simply like a glut at receiver you know they
traded for AJ Brown they gave Romeo dobs a big deal Kyle Williams had gotten to
the point and I think that they still have some love for Kyle Williams he had
gotten to the point where he was like the wide receiver seven on the depth
chart and now he's gonna be on the roster they're not gonna blow that you know
what they use a third round pick on him so he's gonna be on the team if they
had kept Keishan booty they would have had to keep seven wide receivers and
teams generally don't like to do that on their 53 now what they got for
Keishan booty jeez I mean that was absolutely nothing I was thinking that there
might be a little bit of a bidding war between the Saints and the Texans
obviously there was not awesome move for the Texans but yeah I mean from the
Patriots I did move up Romeo dobs I moved up real he only moved up one spot
because I think that this solidifies Romeo dobs is like a true every down
player who's going to play outside and maybe a little bit of slot but just
pulling like it takes away some threat of the a big wide receiver rotation
because Keishan booty if he'd be on the team like he's so good down the field that
he would have had a role I think it can be a little bit more streamlined for
Romeo Romeo dobs where he is a true every down player without Keishan booty
yeah we're 118 overall on dobs and it's not a fun click it's not a sexy click
but I think it's you know a fine click a solid pick I think they're gonna roll
with AJ Brown and dobs on almost every snap and then pop Douglas will be the
main slot man obviously you're gonna have Mac Holland's and Kai Williams and
guys like that also in the mix but I think the primary will be AJ Brown dobs
and pop Douglas as for the Texans I think Tank Dell is in trouble and I hate to
say that because I was you know rooting for him but it sounds like he's in
trouble has not been able to sustain any type of practice schedule or playing
games or anything like that off of the devastating knee injury a couple years
ago Jill and Noel I think the best case is like a slot plus role in the best
case scenario and then they still like Xavier Hutchinson so I think they're
gonna rotate Keishan booty and Xavier Hutchinson opposite Niko some obviously
Xavier Hutchinson is gonna be the better run blocker booties gonna be the far
better receiver and deep threat but I'm not really excited about drafting
booty or Xavier Hutchinson here on a team that's gonna be defense and run
oriented I think yeah I do think it's great news for Niko Collins who we
drafted in that FFPC draft with Leone we got him in the third round but he's an
absolute steal there the history of Xavier Hutchinson and Keishan booty are
really low targets per route run now Keishan booty can actually do something when
he gets targeted and he can take the lid off a little bit Xavier Hutchinson is
like pure possession bit he's big you'll block but he's like a he's not gonna
command targets and really neither is Keishan booty Niko Collins will command
targets I think that he could compete for the NFL lead in ariard share in
target share this year I think that this was a positive move for Niko Collins
you brought up during the draft that we did the possibility of hey you know
hey Jaden Higgins gets eliminated by the ACL and then you know does that
actually bowed poorly for Niko Collins even though his projectable all of a
sudden goes to just out the freaking roof well now there's at least you know
someone who can pass for a decent number two receiver on the team so maybe
that mitigates the loss of Jaden Higgins as it pertains to Niko Collins I
just I thought this even before any of this stuff happened that we've seen
Niko Collins be great for stretches but never for a full season and I think
the things are adding up for Niko Collins to be great for a full season in
he's a great player I mean no doubt underrated one of the best wide receivers in
the NFL the reason why I feel much better about him in round three then like
mid-round two is just the way the Texans are going to play I do not see them
getting into shootouts I see them winning games 17 to 14 it's not going to be
like the lions where they're out there throwing the ball 45 times in a game
and trying to score 40 points 45 points or the Bengals and stuff like that so I
just think there's a bit of a like Niko finishing as an actual top three top five
fantasy wide receiver would surprise me just on environment but he's an awesome
player with an incredible role and I was thrilled to get him early round three
there in that draft that we did oh story 12 also comes out of Houston so this
John Alexander of the Houston Chronicle says that David Montgomery and Woody
Marks not might not be 50 50 but it will be close so I guess my question is
just Evan D by this quote here from John Alexander about 50 50 or something
close between Woody Marks and Dave Montgomery I buy that it has looked like it
might be that that way if you're watching Texans practice as John Alexander
has been doing but I don't buy that this is how it's going to be when you know
the stuff hits the fan and when they're trying to win ball games and they're
trying to win close because there's a defensive oriented team who isn't going
to score a ton of points is going to play in a lot of games that are decided by
one score and they're going to want David Montgomery the dog that he is out
there over Woody Marks I'm sure that they'll that they'll sprinkle in Woody
Marks but to say that it's 50 50 I think that that's absolutely crazy but it
also but it doesn't make sense for that to be happening in practice because
Dave Montgomery is aging and they're getting ready to saddle him up for his
many touches as he can absolutely handle so it makes sense for them to take
some of his practice load off and give it to Woody Marks who is a decent player
in his own right and very much draftable one of the better handcuffs in
fantasy with maybe a little bit a little bit of sand yeah to agree with Evan
we didn't make a move on this at all and we're still at 52 overall on Dave
Montgomery I get that this report said or this take was that it could be 50 50 I
could read off to you right now about 10 other reports quote-unquote reports
out of Houston from the last few months about Dave Montgomery being a
full-down workhorse of full three-down workhorse so no I'm not buying this and
the other thing that I'd say I mean Woody Marks had his chance last year he
was horrific he averaged 3.6 yards per care I'm not saying was all his fault but
he was really bad last year so like we've seen it I think they're going to go
full workhorse on Dave Montgomery and I think one of the reasons people are
talking about Woody Marks now is he had a good preseason game and like again
preseason performance doesn't really move the needle for me at all so he had a
pretty good preseason game now we get Woody Marks high but I think that's one
to to kind of fade story 13 Dolphins rookie wide receiver Chris Bell coming
off the ACL tear he sheds his non-contact Jersey he might play preseason week
three he has a legit chance to play
I remember we talked about Chris Bell during the draft process, Evan, and people were saying
Chris Bell is going to be out for the year, you know, hopefully he comes back in 2027 because
he tore his Achilles while playing for Louisville in November of 2026.
I mean, I'm sorry, November of 2025.
So it seems like a fast recovery, but everybody's getting back fast now with thoughts on Chris
Bell, perhaps being ready to play week one.
It was not as Achilles.
It was EC.
And I say Achilles.
I'm sorry.
Yes, but there is a difference there.
But either way, awesome, awesome recovery for Chris Bell.
I don't know what to think, you know, I don't really know what to think.
I know that Caleb Douglas, it looks like Caleb Douglas, the Dolphin's third round pick is
going to be a week one starter and maybe the Dolphins number one receiver from the get-go.
But I don't know, you know, because it's such a blank slate for Chris Bell and because
of those pre-training camp assumptions and pre-draft assumptions that were made about
Chris Bell, it hasn't fully registered, but I'm not sure that he has enough time to work
into any kind of a week one role.
It's really nice for his recovery and really nice for the Dolphins who need some help.
They need some good fortune.
I think that Malik Washington and Caleb Douglas will be the primary wide receivers at the
beginning of the season, September, maybe October.
However, there were people who thought Chris Bell was the best wide receiver prospect
in this class.
And if you had never torn his ACL, might have been a top 10 pick or something like that.
And so I do not want to discount Chris Bell just winning out on talent at the end of the
year.
And so I do think he's an interesting round 18, 19, 20 type pick here right now, even though
Malik Willis is his quarterback.
A couple of other more small ones here.
Story 14, the Cowboys running back to battle continues, Jaden Blue, first Malik Davis,
first Phil Mafa.
There are a lot of reports out there right now, Evan, that Jaden Blue is losing momentum
in this battle.
Saw some coaches call him out, somewhat, they're talking up Malik Willis.
I've kind of backed off of Jaden Blue, Evan, are you getting any queasy here on Blue and
thoughts on Cowboys' backfield backup spot?
I pulled Jaden Blue out of my 150.
And that's sort of saddened me because I'd been drafting him a good amount.
And I thought he was a great late round flyer with all the explosiveness that he brings
to the table and the offensive environment and the way that, I mean, he was a madman
from a touchdown standpoint at Texas and he could catch passes.
So Jaden Blue on paper looks like a really, really sexy fantasy prospect.
And when he gets on the practice field, like he's doing things that do not endure him
to coaches.
And Malik Davis is a player who seems like he does everything right when it comes to coach.
I think at the end of the day, and this may be a little bit of my confirmation bias
admittedly because I've been really high on Javante Williams, to me, it just solidifies
that Javante Williams is going to have one of the highest usage rates among NFL running
backs this season because the Cowboys have not even settled on who their number two
runs.
I mean, we've taken Jaden Blue out of a draftable range, which makes me sad also.
I thought there was a chance he would have a standalone role with a chance for more
in the, with a chance for a lot more in the event of an injury similar to Keaton Mitchell.
I just don't know that he does.
And like, I don't know how much standalone role he's going to get.
And if Javante went down, I think we'd see a lot of Malik Davis.
And a little bit of Jaden Blue and maybe some Mafa also.
So we've kind of take Jaden Blue out of a draftable range sucks.
Story 15, Green Bay.
It doesn't mean he's dead.
I mean, he could still come back alive at some point, but entering the season, you can't
feel confident.
He could be an actor for sure.
Story 15 out of Green Bay, Luke Musgrave, beatwriters are expecting Luke Musgrave to start
the year on PUP.
Packers are extremely thin at tight ends.
A lot of roster projections I've seen for them had them rolling with only three tight
ends on their 53 Tucker craft is coming off an ACL, Josh Wiley and Drake Dabney.
With that tight end room, you don't have a choice but to go three wide receivers sets
a ton.
And without Don Tavy and Wix and Romeo dobs on the team anymore, you can't rotate that
much.
So this to me is like the cleanest setup of Jaden Reed's career by a decent amount.
We're up to 78 overall now on Jaden Reed, Evan anymore Packers thoughts here coming out
of camp.
Yeah.
Speaking of confirmation bias, I mean, this is just really, I love it, you know, because
I mean, I've been on the Packers are going to be a three receiver one tight end team from
the get go.
Also, you remember those comments that Tucker craft made where, oh, they're going to ease
me in for the first half of the season like, are you sure they're going to be able to
delete ease you in like, I'm not sure that the Packers are going to be able to do that.
And they're going to need Tucker craft can block.
They're going to need them to help the offensive line.
And they're going to need to throw a lot of passes, a lot of short passes to guys like
Jaden Reed and Christian Watson and Matthew Golden to mitigate the past protection issues.
And I think that Jordan love can execute that.
But yeah, and I think that they're going to be playing from behind more like just everything
is adding up for the Packers to really be one of the highest percentage three receiver
teams in NFL.
Yeah, excited for Jaden Reed and really all the Packers wide receivers for sure Watson
and Golden also.
And March on Lloyd the yeet Canon looking good and pre scene as well, scored a touchdown
on a little arrow route out of the backfield.
I mean, you can tell he's crazy athletic and strong and big and yeah, it's amazing.
He's been standing healthy.
Okay, last story here before we get to preseason usage stuff out of Rams camp.
So Nate Atkins who covers the Rams for the athletic does a great job.
He noted, you know, what I think everybody's been talking about out of Rams camp Terrence
Ferguson has been lining up at FYX and Z like basically wide receiver positions and tight
end positions.
Atkins is saying that it's very clear path that Ferguson has a chance to finish third
on the Rams and catches and yards behind the only Devantes Adams and Puccanecua.
I don't like there's been so much Terrence Ferguson hype.
I think he's an awesome, awesome pick.
I don't think I want to go into the season with him as my starter in redraft.
But he's like the perfect let me get a look at usage in week one and week two on my bench
kind of play.
If he does live up to the hype, if he's used as a wide receiver three, well, no early.
If not, you know, we can drop him.
So I just want to note that on Terrence Ferguson is like the kind of player I want on my redraft
bench.
Evan, are you buying all this T Ferg hype here with just two weeks to go before the season?
Yeah.
I mean, the only thing about that is that I don't, I don't, I think that his usage could
really fluctuate week to week like in week one, maybe he only runs 12 routes the next
week.
Maybe he runs 27, you know, I just, I don't know about that.
He's a very, very intriguing prospect, though, and you could build a case for him because
the Rams, I mean, they're getting older, you know, they're getting older.
Devonte Adams, Matthew Stafford, they don't have a whole lot of explosiveness on offense.
They don't really have explosiveness in the backfield.
That's why I think the Blake Korum will take another step this year.
You know, Devonte Adams is not explosive like he used to be.
Pukinakua is an absolute insane baller.
But I don't, you know, he's not like a lid lifter, you know, he's not a lid popping
wide receiver, whereas Terence Ferguson is a potential vertical threat at tight end.
So I don't know.
I think that he's a player who's usage could really change.
Yeah, that's totally fair.
And you know, it could be game plan specific.
Also, we know that McVeigh is willing to do stuff like that.
I found this quote also in that, in that same article, and this was from Nate Atkins.
He said, Devonte Adams looks, quote unquote, fresh and explosive was virtually uncoverable
in joint practices against the cowboys and saints.
One thing about Devonte Adams is there has been like no news around him, no injury stuff.
I felt like people are just getting bored.
Like we haven't talked about Devonte Adams that much because there hasn't been news.
But we've been pretty solidly ahead of market all off season on Devonte Adams.
At one time, we were like around and a half ahead on him.
Market has come to us here a little bit.
Evan, how are you feeling on Devonte Adams coming into this season?
He's been a guy that I've been avoiding.
He lived off touchdowns last season.
He had one game over 90 yards.
So I mean, he could live off touchdowns again.
I mean, they're going to call place for him in scoring position.
But in terms of like, you know, getting back to the days of Devonte Adams getting 1200
yards, like that's not happening.
I mean, he hasn't even had 1000.
He hasn't had over a thousand and 63 yards since 22 and three.
So I think that he's like one of the most touchdown dependent players in Finn.
You know, you don't have to pay a huge cost for him.
His homelage ADP is around 56 overall.
ETR ranks are at 44 overall on Devonte Adams.
Like, it's just hard.
There are not that many places for the ball to go and the offense is going to smash.
Like Evan said, they don't have that many weapons, but they're going to score a ton
of points.
And when you start getting into that, it's hard not to come away.
The big projection on Devonte Adams.
All right.
Go to some preseason usage stuff here quickly.
Evan, a story 17 jets wide receiver usage.
So Gino did play.
Garrett Wilson played every snap with Gino,
80 Mitchell played every snap with Gino except for two.
And in this one, Omar Cooper was slot, not Isaiah Williams.
But my bigger point is just it seems locked to me
that Garrett Wilson and 80 Mitchell are going to be every down players.
Garrett Wilson goes in like middle of round four in redraft.
People just don't want to take jets.
I think that's a very, very good bet.
And again, another reason you can start running back heavy,
because guys like Garrett Wilson are available in the middle of round four.
So, have any thoughts on Garrett Wilson, 80 Mitchell,
or anything else from jets, wide receiver stuff?
These are guys that I will consider when they fall past their 80Ps.
You know, not guys that I'm going out of my way to draft.
You know, even down to Bryce Hall at this point.
I'm not sure I trust Frank Reich.
I mean, I definitely don't trust Frank Reich.
And also, you know, we are really leaning on Gina Smith here.
Because the next guy up on the depth chart for the Jets is Kid Club Nick.
And the guy after that is Brady Cook, who did go to my high school.
But, I mean, I don't think he has a future in the NFL.
So, if Gina Smith is not competent, like for 17 games,
you know, these guys are going to be screwed.
So this is just, it's an offense where I am not going out of my way to draft anybody.
I think cost reflects that to some degree on Garrett Wilson.
Like, Garrett Wilson is such a good player with such a huge target earning ability.
With any other quarterback, he'd be going late round two, round three.
Now, if Gina Smith is competent, like these dudes to smash.
I mean, I have a bunch of 80 Mitchell and Bestball.
But, and I think the way that Gina Smith plays, like 80 Mitchell, that kind of a great fit in theory.
I just, the reports on Gina Smith and training camp have been a little bit ugly.
And that scares me because everything was ugly this past year.
Undoubtedly, yeah.
Okay, story 18 comes from preseason.
Also, this Teterraum McMillan slot rate spiking, I think is notable.
So, Jack tweeted about this Teterraum McMillan slot rate,
as a rookie with the Panthers in 2025, was just 15%.
In two preseason games, Teterraum McMillan slot rate has been 41%.
It is preseason, but that is a very, very good sign.
Evan, do you buy that Teterraum McMillan can play the slot this year for the Panthers?
And does that affect your outlook on him?
Yeah, I'm already starting to think about, you know, what am I going to write about for each
player in, in my matchups column for week one.
And this is going to be the big note, probably on Tetmick Millen.
You know, for a team that is missing both of their starting offensive tackles.
And, you know, has an undersized quarterback and, you know, just all kinds of obstacles on offense
to put Teter McMillan a big physical player in the middle of the field and give him higher percentage
stuff to run. I love it. You know, that's one of the ways that Teter McMillan can overcome
playing in an offensive environment like this. So, I absolutely love to see it.
I mean, a 40% slot rate would be awesome for Teter McMillan. I'm not sure that I'm buying that
he's going to hit 41% during the regular season, but anything above like 30 would be.
For sure. Yeah, he's another wide receiver that's available there in round four that people
don't really love clicking because he plays for a bad team. And, you know, that's playing for bad
teams. Not good, but again, it should be all baked in. Oh, story 19. So the Broncos starters did
play the first drive in their preseason game. It was Jalen Waddle and Cortland Sutton as every
down wide receivers. Waddle had a really nice catch for a huge gain. Pat Bryant came on in three
wide receivers sets mostly in a slot role. I think this was kind of as expected. You know,
there's been speculation. Bryant can steal snacks from Sutton. I don't think that's happening
early in the season, but Bryant coming on and playing kind of a slot role is somewhat intriguing.
And then Jalen Waddle is the one heaven. People just keep clicking this guy. His ADP is up
now to 35 overall in redraft on Jalen Waddle starting to get pricey there on him thoughts on
Broncos wide receivers coming out of their preseason game. Yeah, geez. I have Jalen Waddle at 42.
And I've been getting a decent amount of him, but I didn't do any drafts this particular week,
but I have noticed that the buzz on him has really been growing. So and that guy that surprises me
because people like, let me correct this actually. This is it. I'm looking at our other ADP set now,
which is kind of a blend of a bunch of season long sites and Waddle ADP there is 47. That's a good
price to me on Waddle there at 47. All right, I love that. I mean, then I'm above ADP again on him.
Yeah, I mean, I'm good with that. I like it. Jalen Waddle is going to be the clear number one
receiver. Sean Payton gave up a one in a three for him. You know, but they're going to,
I mean, I think he's a great fit for bow nicks. Yeah. And they're like, they can get really
pass happy at times. You know, I mean, really pass happy. Yes, they can when they're pushed, which, I mean,
look, you know, offense has the advantage over the, we think the Broncos are going to have a top three
to five defense, but at the end of the day, like offense almost always has the advantage over defense
as in the NFL. So when games get pushed, like Jalen Waddle can absolutely. All right, last note from
preseason, Caleb Williams and the bear starters or most of them did play nine snaps for Caleb.
Coulson Loveland was on the field for eight of them. That is just a continuation from the end
of last season when Loveland finally ascended to a huge role. So I know you're super high on
Coulson Loveland. I like Coulson Loveland a lot here too, Evan. He goes in kind of like the early
forties range, but I think that's fair. And that was kind of the point I was trying to make in some
of this strategy articles that are in the draft kit. Some of these prices on fan in and craft and
Laporta to me are unfair. I don't think Loveland is a bargain, but I think it's prices at least fair.
So that makes him somewhat of a target, depending what site you're playing on. But yeah, Evan,
any thoughts on the bear's preseason game or the usage from Loveland. I just think that the bears
are going to go absolutely ballistic on offense this year and Ben Johnson wants that and that's
what's going to happen. Before we get out here, a few ranking changes that Silva made here.
We mentioned the conception one already. Evan talked through that. Evan did add Trey Tucker
to the top 150, making his, I believe his debut this season in the top 150 for Trey Tucker. Evan
talks with people about that move. Yeah, I maybe should have had him in the 150 before,
but you know, pardon me, thanks that I shouldn't have because he's been in the league and you know,
he's had a couple of big games here and there, but never any kind of consistency and the way
that he's built. I mean, he's a small guy. You know, you can understand why playing with
suboptimal, suboptimal offensive environments. But I think that this offensive environment with
Kirk, whether it's Kirk Cousins or for you know, Mendoza under center and getting back Colton Miller
and adding Tyler Linderbaum, maybe we can get some functionality out of the Raiders offense
this year under Clint Cubi. I think that we will. And Trey Tucker has like, by all accounts,
one in the Raiders number one receiver job. So he's a player that should be rostered in all leagues,
even if it's at the very end of. Yeah, I mean, I thought that Nailer was the one that they went out
and the new regime signed and they were going to try to, you know, get him to be their guy.
Trey Tucker has been the one they've been most excited about and seemingly has won the job.
Again, Nailer played in that preseason game. Trey Tucker did not. He got to rest with the rest of
the starters. So yeah. Oh, here's an interesting one. Evan moved carnell Tate down
from wide receiver 36 to wide receiver 46 in his rankings. Pretty drastic move here. Evan,
why the dump on carnell Tate? Well, in the drafts that I've been doing before considering doing
this, I had, it had started to get to the point where I was like starting to get a little bit of
carnell Tate and I was like, I don't really want any carnell Tate. I don't want any Titans really
at all except for one Dale Robinson, which is gross in and of itself, but also kind of a dichotomy
of what the Titans are going through right now. I mean, Brandon Thorn, you know, sorry to
say Brandon Thorn, but he has the Titans as the worst offensive line in the league. And there
has been nothing positive to take away from Cam Ward in the preseason after a very rough rookie year.
So I don't want carnell Tate this year. And his ADP is around 74 right now is carnell Tate,
which for a guy who went fourth overall in the draft is like crazy low. It's just, yeah,
I, I, I start to make a bull case for carnell Tate here also. Last one, Silva did move
trigon Henderson down a little bit in the ranks. I just want to note for people and I know we're
doing Mark, I'm not doing market Monday and doing this instead. The like Ramondra Stevenson
continues to be going higher and Travion is going lower to the point where like they're almost
crossing now and Ramondra is going to go ahead of Travion here soon. So Evan thoughts on Patriots
backfield and moving Travion down. Yeah, I dipped Travion down a little bit.
They are both in the same tier Travion Henderson and Ramondra Stevenson are both in my sixth tier.
You know, I'm not going to dismiss the fact that Travion Henderson was a high second round pick
you had over.
over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns as a rookie.
Despite what seems like,
it seems like he's struggled in training camp.
I don't know, but I mean,
Ramondri Stevenson also seems like he's done everything right,
but the talent of Travion Henderson,
and no one's gonna start Travion Henderson.
Degel said this well on our running back show.
No one's gonna start Travion Henderson in week one,
but as the season progresses,
I think that by a hair now,
Travion Henderson will be the running back to own in New England,
but it's gonna take some time.
It's gonna take some time for that to happen,
because Ramondri Stevenson is going to be like a decent low end
to strong flex play to begin the year,
and then sort of we'll see what happens.
Travion Henderson is really, really talented, though,
and if he can just start to do the things right
that he's been doing wrong from past protection
so, you know, whatever it is,
like he should be the guy that gets the ball more
as the season progresses.
- We saw what Travion Henderson did last year
with Ramondri Stevenson out of the lineup.
I mean, at worst you're gonna get that.
I don't wanna completely give up on Travion,
but from a role perspective,
Ramondri is gonna open the season with a better role
than Travion, you know, there's just absolutely no doubt.
All right, to see more of all of Silva's takes
in the top 150 in the tiers, you do need the draft kit,
all the ETR rankings, if you're using any of those,
please be sure you are refreshing and re-uploading
every time before the draft,
we are constantly pushing tweaks there.
Again, head to sabersonren.com.
Check out the draft kit if you have a draft coming up.
For Evan, Prusa Ryan, Prusa Luke, I am Adam.
Good luck, everybody.

Summary:
FAQs
Ashton Genty suffered an ankle sprain that is reportedly more low than high, and he has not been ruled out for week one. He was moved down to 18th overall in ETR rankings, but the most likely scenario is he turns out fine.
Keenan Allen signed a one-year deal with the Colts due to the Shane Steichen connection and their need for pass-catching help. This creates a crowded short-area receiving corps, leading to a lower ranking for Josh Downs at 97 overall.
Yes, Malik Nabers shed his non-contact jersey and Harbaugh says it's reasonable to assume he'll play week one. He's ranked 26th overall in ETR rankings, with risk from his ACL tear and offensive environment.
Najee Harris's signing creates competition with Cam Scattaboo, as their skill sets overlap. Scattaboo was moved down to 49th overall in ETR rankings, and Harris may play a significant role to start the season.
Jordan Tyson is expected to miss roughly two months due to a soft tissue injury, potentially returning around week six. Since timelines are unpredictable, he's a good stash pick if you have an IR spot, but there's risk of aggravation.
Alvin Kamara is out at least a month with an MCL sprain, which boosts Travis ETN's value. He's moved up to 32nd overall in ETR rankings, making him a solid pick in round four.
