from Inner Monologue with Olivia Neill
52m 43s
The podcast features a lively and personal conversation between the host and their close friend Ruby, who recently joined them after a series of shared experiences during fashion events in Paris and New York. The pair details how they met over a year ago at a fashion trip, bonding through frequent travel and emotional honesty. Both share a pattern of ending relationships and secretly re-engaging with former partners, which they describe as a form of emotional exploration. Their time together during Paris Fashion Week was filled with spontaneous, joyful moments—like a hummus party and late-night adventures—highlighting their relaxed, fun-loving dynamic. Despite online perceptions that they are not close friends, the hosts emphasize their deep, genuine connection, rooted in mutual comfort and emotional authenticity. They also reflect on personal growth, including Ruby’s experience with a love spell that led to a new connection and both of their views on body confidence and self-image. The conversation touches on personal habits, such as prank calling and drinking, and includes candid revelations about past mishaps, like getting stuck in a washing machine. Themes of independence, emotional detachment, and self-awareness run throughout, as both express a desire to build healthy, long-term relationships without dependency. The episode blends humor, vulnerability, and introspection, offering a heartfelt look into friendship, self-discovery, and the quirks of modern dating culture.
(upbeat music)
- Hey guys, welcome back to Inner Monologue with me,
a living meal, and a special guest today.
My bestie Ruby is joining us today.
I feel like this is quite rare.
We never have guests on today.
We are gonna be talking about boy,
some of the things we got up to a Paris Fashion Week.
And we're also gonna be playing "Never Have I Ever"
and revealing some tea, I fear.
Anyway, let's get into it.
- I'm so nervous.
- No, don't be nervous.
Have you done a podcast before?
- No, really.
- No, that's why I'm scared.
- This is your first podcast.
- Yes.
- I'm so honored that you've chosen me.
- I'm so surprised I'm even here.
I feel like you, like, not that you're shy,
maybe people have a misconception that you're shy.
- No, I am shy.
It's more just like that there's like four cameras
in front of us.
- I know.
- I'm like lights.
- But you're like you to you too.
- Yeah, but I like talking
from my camera to in my room by myself.
- You know what I mean?
- Like there's never anyone there.
- Yeah, it takes a bit of getting used to it.
- Getting used to it.
- I miss no, I feel like how it would feel
if I was just doing YouTube.
- Yeah.
- But anyway, but I'm happy to be here.
I'm so happy that you're here.
I never have guests on my podcast.
Like it's quite a rare occurrence for me to have guests,
but I always said if I have a guest,
like I wanted it to be like a really good friend of mine,
so it's not me sat there interviewing someone I don't know.
- Not that I'm gonna be a twin flame.
- Twin flame.
- Twin bitches on a jet ski.
- Is that what it is?
- Is that that sort of what?
- Yeah.
- Okay.
- Yeah, 'cause I don't think it's related to twin flame.
I wish it was the same.
- Yeah, but you win 'em.
- Anyway.
Before we get started, I'd like fully introduce you
to who Ruby is and who she is to me.
Do you wanna give them a bit of a backstory
as to how you got here today?
- We're gonna just get the elephant in the room out of the way.
I'm on zero hours of sleep.
Extremely hungover.
I've literally just gotten off my Eurostar from Paris.
She was in Paris last night.
Well, she was in Paris this morning.
- Yeah.
- And she essentially has come straight from the function.
- Yeah, I basically was out last night
and I was like, okay, I have to be up at like seven
to get my train.
And I was like, okay, well, I guess I'll just stay up the whole night.
I don't really know, I could've just not gone out.
I could've just, I know, and I say that.
Sometimes I think that is better to stay up
'cause if you've had fallen asleep, I'd like to say four AM.
- You're not waking up exactly.
- But I was still like, I could've done with like a couple hours.
- Yeah.
- You could've probably in hindsight.
And I cat-pexing her last night 'cause like,
we were like on-face, you were like facing me the whole time.
You were out because we just missed each other.
We were, what, you were over one day?
- I know, it was really hard, I know.
- We basically, okay, but before we get into all that,
let me tell you, right, so me and Ruby met what two years ago?
Has it been two years?
- Maybe a year and a half.
- Yeah, September New York Fashion Week.
- Yeah, like a year and a half ago.
- We met on an hug brand trip.
- Short, I hug.
- Love it. - Love it.
- We love it.
- Yeah, we really do.
Anyway, we met, but we just didn't really buy.
(laughs)
- No, it's not that we didn't buy, but I was just really quiet.
- Yeah.
- And like, for various reasons, I was just more of a,
I was more in my shell at that point in my life.
And also like, last night I was with like a big group of people.
And I was talking to people, the person who I was with,
like, I don't know any of these people,
so I feel really like awkward and anxious,
so I just won't speak.
And so like, in a situation like a brand trip,
I didn't know most of the people there.
I was close with like one person there.
- Yeah.
- And so in those kind of situations, I won't be outgoing.
And I won't really show my personality at all.
So like, that's probably why we didn't see each other.
- Yeah, to be honest, I feel like I was a different person,
but then I think we both were, like,
I was very much still in my shell as well.
- And now we're both out of our shell.
- I know, at the same point of our lives.
- Oh, I feel like we have. Okay, well, anyway, I keep trying.
- I know there's like so many things to talk about.
- I know, I get hired away sometimes.
- scatterbrains.
- So we then met again.
I mean, we've met several times since then.
We've got mutual friends.
We were like, go up for lunch and stuff.
We were never like, like, you know?
And I mean, never just like, really,
like we never had the time to like, connect and bond.
- Yeah.
- Until this fashion, this,
until this New York fashion week is September.
So exactly a year later,
we, I don't even know how we connected.
We had a mutual friend and she kind of like,
organized a lunch and then we decided, like,
oh, we were going to a lot of the same things.
- Yeah.
- And then we just went together.
- Yeah, anyway, we were pretty much forced
to spend a lot of time together in that, not forced,
but like, you know, like, we were in small groups.
We were going to the same places.
We were always together and joined this New York fashion week
and we just became so close,
kind of inseparable a little bit.
Like, fully inseparable.
- Yeah.
- Because like, fashion week isn't just a week.
It's like, you've got New York fashion week,
London fashion week, Milan, Paris, it's four weeks.
It's a month.
And so we spent that whole month together.
- Yeah.
- We spent every single day together.
We were like, check into hotels.
And we were not there with the same brands.
And like, basically, when you go to fashion with the brand,
like they'll book you into a hotel and a lot of the time,
you'll not know it.
Like, for example, I was with boss,
so all the boss talent would be in the same hotel.
And she was there with Gucci,
so you would think all the Gucci talent would be in the same hotel.
We wouldn't be in the same one, usually.
And then we go to Milan
and we're in the room opposite each other in this hotel.
Like literally same floor, like back-to-back, our doors.
- Which is like just like, it's quite bizarre.
- Yeah, it was just random hotels, random hotels.
Like, no one else was staying there.
- And I was like, I think the world is trying to tell us something.
And anyway, this month just brought us really close together.
And then I came to New York a couple times,
and then we went to St. Barrett.
And then we decided to go to Paris.
I know, basically, we haven't knocked each other's side.
- Well, you came back to New York,
stayed with me for a bit.
- Yeah.
- And then we just, we enable each other, I fear.
(upbeat music)
- I think, like, I don't think I've ever met someone
that is on, like, lately the same wavelength as me.
Don't cry.
(laughing)
- Okay, right, so let me explain.
We both had a breakup.
Yours was a bit more, like it does.
But you know what's actually really great to you?
I saw a TikTok last night and I said,
I need to talk about this.
It was like, you know, the, the swipes,
and it's like, for example.
- Speak your mind.
- And you.
(laughing)
- It'll be, like, two shit things.
And then the third one is, like, the thing that's better
than both of them.
- Yeah, you know what I'm trying to say?
- Yeah, yeah.
- And it was, like, situationships, relationships.
And then the third one, which was, like, the good one,
was having a secret relationship with your ex.
- Oh, no, hear me out.
I think we both broke up with our exes, whatever.
And then, after that, I don't know about you.
I think this is true.
And maybe you don't want me to say this,
but, and I, like, I'm just kind of a choice,
myself as well.
I would, like, break up with my boyfriend.
I would tell all my friends, I've broken up with them.
I hear them.
I would tell, like, like, basically, all my friends
hear to them, of course.
Like, I'm sure all his friends hate me as well.
But you know what it is.
And, but then I would, like, start secretly seeing him again.
And I wouldn't tell any of my friends,
'cause I wouldn't approve, obviously.
Like, no one would approve of that.
And then, I would, like, go through all this shit with him,
but I couldn't tell anyone, because I'd never told anyone
I was seeing him again.
- Oh.
- Did you have that?
- Well, when we broke up, I kind of, I, like, went to Europe.
I, like, fucked off.
And, like, can I just run here?
- Yeah.
(laughs)
- And, um, and then I came back and, like,
I don't want to see him as out of boredom,
'cause that's really horrible.
But, I definitely did revert back,
but I told my friends I was shameless about it.
- Oh, really?
- And they were, like, ruby.
- But anyway, you, it was, like, a very on and off.
- Yeah, both of us were very on and off.
- On and off.
- I think that they both fully ended
around the same time, in the same time,
which was, like, that was, like, a really, really difficult thing.
Like, ending, like, long-term relationship.
- Especially when, like, some folks get the end,
when it's, like, see, grin, are you seeing each other,
are you not ending that?
Like, doing the whole, like, no-contact thing
is the most difficult thing in the world, I think.
- Well, yeah.
- I mean, I've only recently stopped the absolute no-contact,
but unfortunately, we're gonna have to see him in three days, so.
- Oh, yeah, so, we're basically, those ops, ops.
- Wait, where are we going?
- We'll get into that in a second, but basically,
we both did that at the same time,
and then, no, we're just very much on our, like, single shit,
and, like, we're just, like,
but it's not even, like, we're being, like, horse.
We're not at all.
- No, I know.
It's, like, actually, like, a bit dry.
- Yeah, it's a bit dry.
- When I say single shit, I mean, like,
I'm just going to have fun, and I'm going to do it.
- Yeah, we're just having, like, the most fun.
We're just staying out late, like, making friends.
- Yeah.
- Like, pretty much, like, no, honestly, 10 out of 10 nights,
we are coming home together, and, like, we're, like, cuddling.
- Yeah.
I, we were just in Paris there for Paris Fashion Week,
and I told Ruby, my favorite part of every night
is when we come home together,
and we find something, like, so fucking weird to eat.
Like, I think the first night,
so we just went to Paris Fashion Week.
I'll give you a quick rundown of that.
Did you enjoy?
- I had so much fun.
- I had a lot of fun.
It was meant.
I think I gave you guys a rundown last week
on, like, why we went to men?
It was basically just a party.
We went to one show, which was really good,
but for the rest of the time, it was party, and yeah.
For the things we did, I can't really, like, tell you that.
Not that I can't tell you that much.
Oh, wait, we said, I said my first NDA.
- Oh, yeah.
- But I can't say anything, but I was like,
okay, basically.
- Unfortunately for you guys.
- Well, we were, well, we were at it.
Okay, all I can say was, I really shit,
like, not worth telling stories.
- Yeah, it was honestly so silly.
We really go.
When we got told we had to sign these, we were like, "What?"
- Yeah, like I'm so confused, there's nothing going on here.
- Anyway, we went to Oxford, we had to sign an NDA,
and that was a really fun moment for me,
'cause it was my first time.
But we signed it, and I was like,
I have no idea what I just signed.
I was like a three-page person.
- Yeah, it was pretty, it was like a decent amount of pages.
- Yeah, and I just signed my name, put my address on,
and I was like, I could literally just sign
for all my organs to be harvested right now.
I have no idea what I just signed.
I honestly, given that person, I was just surprised.
- I mean, that's move on.
Apart from that, it was just like, we were just,
we were like, "Well, yeah, that's what I was going to say."
We were literally waking up like 3 p.m. every day.
- Yeah, we were like getting out of the house.
- There was one day where we got out of the house
of like 5.30.
- Yeah. - I think it was, it was dark.
- Dark.
- And it was literally dark outside.
- Dark, basically, out of metaphorically.
- So there wasn't much, I mean, we did one day
where we did some shopping.
And I think we could give some recommendations.
- Yeah.
Nouveau vintage is definitely my favorite vintage store.
And then there was another one called Clédidixia,
which is like right on the same street.
- This is the thing about Ruby is, she is Canadian.
She grew up in Canada.
- And not American.
- She's not American, don't get it twisted.
But in Canada, it was colonized by the French, right?
Or England?
Both.
- Question mark.
- We're like under the same queen, dead, monarchy.
- King.
- King?
- Is it?
- Yeah, hard way, it's a king, no, it's just like not a vibe.
- Commonwealth.
- Commonwealth, yeah, okay, well anyway,
they speak French in Canada.
- It's mandatory to, or like to take, like in the US,
it's mandatory to take classes, Spanish.
We take one of French.
But I took French immersion, so like, I took science
and like geography in French.
That's why my French is like decent.
- That's really impressive.
- Anyway, so she can speak French
to what will be in Paris and like, I'll say something,
like what, what kind of things did I say?
Or like, if you watch my YouTube video,
like we were like going to this beach
and I was like, oh, we're going to the governor beach.
'Cause it's just like, that's how it's spelled governor.
But it's not, it's gubernare.
And like, in it like, really like fully correctment,
no, it's gubernare.
And I was like, I'm not gonna say that though.
Like that's just about, I was like,
do you think that's why people think of it?
- Oh my god, okay, so this is another thing.
I posted a YouTube video with Ruby.
And like, all the comment, not all the comment.
- Everyone's like, Ruby's not the vibe to her attitude.
- I know, basically I think because in the video,
like I'm the one talking, I guess my YouTube video,
like if you watch Ruby's YouTube video
when it comes to, I don't fucking speak
'cause it's not my YouTube video.
And so Ruby's often just like stood in the back,
like not really saying anything.
- I'm really looking at myself in the mirror.
I look like so like, you know what I mean?
But it's also just like, I don't think.
- Also, it's just like my personality.
- And like quite, she's a very chill person.
- Yeah, I'm just really chill and it's nothing personal.
- I think that's why I can spend so much time with you
because you're never like.
- I'm never too much.
- No, you know?
- And you have your funny half hours sometimes.
- Half hours.
- Yeah, but anyway, yeah, all the comments are being like,
you and Ruby are not friends.
This is the annoying thing.
A boy like, yeah, and when I show,
I rarely like really, not show friendships.
Of course I show friendships online.
But I hate when people like think,
like they make a bit, like a judgment base or something.
- It's so crazy 'cause it's just so far from the truth.
- Yeah.
- Like what did someone say, like Ruby definitely hates you?
- Right, I said, this is my fucking soul mate.
(laughing)
And like people have done that all my whole time.
I've been like, I used to have like,
really public friendships on YouTube.
And like people were always commenting
and being like, this dynamic is this.
And like, she hates her and she hates her.
And even like, no, everyone's like,
oh, she hops friend, grips so much.
Like she falls like, has a new best friend and falls
out with her other ones like every month.
I've literally like, I think because I don't even know,
I don't show my friendships all the time.
I have not fallen out with anyone.
- We're so young, like, you're allowed to have new friends.
- Yeah.
I love making, like I'm trying to defend myself.
I just get so pissed off when it will.
- But it's interesting and it makes you like,
rethink like what you want 'em.
It's sad because like you have to rethink
what you're putting online and shit like that.
'Cause like, those perceptions like,
affect your like opinions.
- Yeah.
- Because then when I start seeing people commenting
on my attitude, then I'm like, whoa, wait,
if everyone's seeing this, do I have a problem?
Like, is there something wrong with me?
But like, I know there's a lot.
- No.
- But like, you're literally just quiet.
- Yeah, I'm just quiet.
- And I also got loads of comments on that YouTube video
saying that I'm an S-court.
- What?
- I know.
- I was definitely going to put Zach be in the fucking video.
- I know.
But like, I was so embarrassed.
'Cause I was like, you know, like if I'm watching it again,
and if I'm looking at it from that perspective,
I think I look like an S-court.
- Honestly, yeah, the fact that we're in St. Bar,
it's private jet, on yachts, like it's giving.
- It's giving S-court.
- It's giving the only girls.
- Not an S-court and we don't hear each other.
Just clearing up the rumors.
As I was saying earlier,
honestly, the best part of our night tonight,
'cause I think at Fashion Week,
although like, it's super cold to be there,
and like, so grateful and everything,
but the parties are often just the same thing
over and over again, would you agree?
- Yeah, like, and the music wasn't that good most of the time.
- It's kind of like techno.
- Not that that's bad.
- Yeah, not that good.
- I love a techno, yeah.
- But over and over again, we kind of like,
I don't know, we know what kind of stuff we like,
but we kind of just follow where, you know,
the crowd wants to go.
I mean, there's also only so many things you can do.
You want to be where, you know, everyone's going.
- Yeah.
I think the best part of our night was honestly coming home.
So the first night we had a hummus party.
- Oh my god.
- We went to the shop and we bought a stiff hummus party.
The whole way home, we're going hummus party, hummus party.
- And this was not, this was home at like 6.30.
- Oh yeah, 6.30 AM.
Having a hummus party in our Airbnb.
Next day, and we ate cold steel French fries
from like 12 hours before.
- Yeah.
- The French fries.
- Horrible, but we have so much fun doing that.
- Well, and then we're left over French fries
from what did we order?
- We ordered five guys, which was,
you're first time having five guys.
- This is my first time, it's fucking amazing.
- Five guys is amazing.
- There's ever, she got, what did she do?
- I know, well, this is a thing.
I love five guys.
I think a lot of the time with those fast food restaurants
is more just like, like McDonald's was a distinct flavor.
It's not actually what you're eating.
It's just like that flavor.
And five guys is the same to me.
Like, I can like really like just taste five guys.
- But like, I was, I just remember
I was really enjoying my cheeseburger and then like,
I was so good and then I was like, how was yours?
And then I look at yours and I realized,
wait, you just had like a bun lettuce into me.
I was like, yeah, the one, the one downside of five guys
is their veggie burger is just a bun with vegetables in it.
And you get to pick the vegetables in it.
So like, obviously I'm picking like,
- Thank you, I'm solid, babe.
- Yeah, but I'm picking like disgusting ones like pickles
and pickled red onion and like,
all these disgusting vegetables.
I'm so much ketchup.
Yeah, so it's just soggy vegetables in a bun.
And I'm like, yeah, it's unreal Ruby, thanks for asking.
Like, I'm so easily blazed.
Like, I will actually eat anything.
- We're not picky.
- Yeah.
- Oh my God.
- I have some friends who are picky and it's just rough.
- I love that you try, like you will try anything.
Oh, Ruby loves avocado and baked beans on toast.
- Who wouldn't?
- A lot of people hate on me for that.
You would be so surprised.
When I post a story, everyone's applying like jail jail.
Like this is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.
- It's literally fucking delicious.
- Oh my God.
- I love baked beans.
- Me too.
- Yeah, so good.
- Should we go get baked beans off of this?
- My hands are clamping.
- Speaking of techno, like, and the clubs in Paris,
I really believe that we could open our own club
and it would be incredible.
What kind of music do you guys like to listen to?
'Cause like, for me,
I feel like this is gonna be a very controversial topic.
'Cause like, some people, like what we're talking about,
we're saying like, electronic techno, music with no lyrics,
people can show up and enjoy even if they don't know it.
Whereas like, rap and like, whatever, songs with lyrics.
Like, if someone shows up and they don't know the songs,
they're not gonna enjoy it.
You know what I mean?
Like, it's harder.
- It's like, people go to rap shows to listen to songs
they already know.
Whereas a lot of people will go to like, techno or host,
like, shows or whatever it's called
to find new songs.
But I just love, like, I love a song with words.
I like techno and host in Ibiza.
Like, there's a time and place for techno.
However, like a rap song is just. - It just hits different.
- It really does.
- I don't know all the words, like. - Old Lil Wayne Drake.
If I could make a club and just exclusively play them,
Ruby's a big Drake fan.
- Yeah, I feel I'm like his biggest fan.
- I think she might be.
And if you go on a TikTok, it's very apparent.
Because every single TikTok, let's do a Drake song.
- Yeah, by music, rap situation was literally,
I think 12,000 minutes of just Drake,
which is actually insane.
Like an unhealthy amount of Drake.
- I love that though,
'cause I feel like he doesn't have that many die hard fans.
- What?
- I think he has so many die hard fans.
- He has die hard fans, but it's more like,
like, everyone loves Drake.
But like, is anyone actually getting in the car
and playing Drake?
- I don't know, I just feel like he's not niche enough
for people to be like, "Oh, I die for him."
- I feel like he's so big that there's a need to be niche.
- For me, it's like, I put Drake on when I went
like an old banger.
- Really?
- Yeah.
- I literally listen to those straight Drake albums
all day in my house on Ruby.
- He is such a, like. - Did you see his?
He did a nighttime routine?
- Yes, I saw that.
That's what I was about to say.
[BLANK_AUDIO]
such an enigma to me, like-
- He's so unserious.
- If you listen to his music, it's so like,
like, hard, not hard, you know what I mean?
Like he seems like a really like, tough guy.
And then- - Not really.
In all these songs, he's like, heartbroken.
- Yeah, you might be right actually.
(laughs)
I like deep dive reddits and like,
figure out what each song is about though.
Like I'm like, yeah, I have problems.
(laughs)
- Is he like, you're so lovely that you kind of like,
I know everything about it.
- Hmm, no.
- Okay.
- But like, he's definitely my favorite celebrity.
- Try to think of my favorite celebrity movie.
- Can you think of the top of your head,
Robert Pattison probably.
I don't really know anything about him.
- I don't like Robert Pattison.
- I know, I kind of just said when I was younger,
like he's my like guy, like he's the one.
- Well like, you're celebrity crush?
- Yeah, like he would, like when I said that
when I was younger. - Oh, Drake is not my celebrity crush.
- Who he is?
I don't really like to ask people that anymore.
Like, who's your whole past?
Just think he is like, look, a boy, just think he is.
Like I don't want you to like talk
about existence because you never really know, actually.
- Yeah, like also anything is possible.
Like if you believe it, like manifestation, like as we know.
- She's a great manifesto.
- I also recently have done a love spell.
- She did a love spell and fucking work.
- Fucking work, guys.
If you guys need the link, I'll send it to you.
- Give a bit of backstory.
- Basically, I had interest in somebody.
But there was a lot of problems with the situation.
Like the stars weren't aligning.
It didn't look like it was happening.
And so, I was like, fuck it.
Let's do this love spell.
And so me and my friends sat on my couch
and you had to like chant it to the moon.
And it was like for real legit a love spell.
And the next day I wake up and he replied to my story.
It worked and now we talk every day.
So, it's insane.
- I need to do it.
I just, oh, this is another thing.
So not she's talking to a boy every day.
- I know, it's complicated.
- I hate it.
- I actually, I hate it too.
I mean, I love it, but I also hate it for us.
Because I know how it feels.
- I know.
I just think as well that you're quite a like,
I'm, we're quite different actually
when it comes to boys.
For me, I don't think I'm not a relationship person.
Like, I don't like who I become in a relationship.
I don't like, I just don't, I'm just not a relationship person.
- Well, I think the difference is more like,
you're able to be detached emotionally
and I'm not like, I'm a very picky person and with men.
And so if I find someone that I'm actually interested in,
it's really hard for me to like not like go full on.
Just because it is like, I'm so picky.
So it's like exciting when I do find somebody.
And I wouldn't, I just like don't,
I don't have the energy to entertain someone
who I wouldn't see like myself like, actually,
I don't know, it's spending time with.
- I just think that's like the fun thing for me.
Is it, I actually like like, like seeing someone
that I don't see myself in the future.
- Just for fun.
- Because then there's no pressure.
I'm not trying to make anything work.
Like, we're not working towards anything.
- But like, what, okay.
So in your situations like, would that be the same
if they lived here though?
- Well, this is my thing. I think my new thing
is in order to stay emotionally detached.
I'm only going to date people from America.
- Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Like, I think it would be harder if they lived here.
- Yeah.
- And I think I could probably do that if they lived somewhere else
'cause you have no choice.
Like, you don't even have the option to like see them all the time.
- Yeah.
- So you like have to kind of just like
- Do you think you could do like a long distance relationship?
- If I ever really trusted the person,
I think I, I don't know.
I wouldn't want it to be like forever long distance.
But if it was like a period in time,
like just because I'm so busy and like, I like doing my own thing.
- You're not like, and like, do you like just,
like, are you needy? Do you spend every day with the person?
- I typically am, but I don't want to be in my next relationship.
Like, I want to be independent,
like, not get co-dependent in my next relationship.
- Yeah.
- So like, that's why I wouldn't be opposed.
It probably would get annoying.
But I guess if you start like that,
like, you get used to it, I don't know.
I mean, everyone always shifts on it,
so I don't think it would work, but.
- Yeah, me and my friend were actually
having a discussion last night about this.
Because like, we're getting on, no.
I'm 22, you're 23.
- I know.
- That was ridiculous.
Okay, we're not getting on.
We're still very young.
However, in my head, I'm like.
- Yeah, we're still so young.
- I like want to be with my person.
I don't care really what being my right,
but like, I actually ideally would be with my person at 28.
And I know that sounds really young.
- It doesn't though.
Like, that sounds like idea.
I want kids like, I don't want to be old.
- Yeah, exactly, I agree.
And I think as well, like, we've been doing this.
No, I've been, well, I don't know what you've been doing.
It's just really 18.
Like, I've been living this, like,
I've basically been doing the same thing.
I've been doing since I was 18.
And I think a lot of people go to uni,
and then they get a job.
And they're only like starting to like really have fun
and be like, financially independent
from their family and do all the kind of things
that we've actually been able to do.
Like, like, very, very great places we were 18.
So there, I think that whole thing starts a bit later,
but I'm just like, by the time I'm 25,
I'm fucking done with this.
- You say that, but then, like,
the single person we hang out with is like, over 25.
- I know, but I don't want to be that.
I don't want to be 27 and still be like,
doing what I'm doing now.
- No, I don't want to be there, but I'm just.
- Not, like, career wise.
I just mean, like, I don't want to be like,
like, like, or partying, like, in London, you know?
- No.
- And so, like, I'm like, okay, I want to be married
by that stage.
So I think, honestly, like, my last relationship
taught me everything I don't want in a relationship.
And then I want my next relationship
to be like a good, like, two years or whatever.
And I want it to be really healthy
and I want it to teach me, like, how to love someone
and like, like, what it feels like
to actually be in a healthy, loving relationship.
And then I want to be married, like,
I can find another boyfriend,
but I don't want to be sitting here
and having loads of boyfriends.
- Well, that's what I'm saying, but you do.
- Bye.
- You have loads of boyfriends.
- I do not have loads of boyfriends.
What are you on about?
- The roster is literally, like, back on a zero.
- Okay.
- As of this week.
(laughing)
- Anyway.
- No, but they're like my pretend boyfriend.
- That's what I'm saying.
Like, I'm in the mindset of like,
I've learned so much from my last relationship
and like, that's what, like, even like,
with like, people I've recently spoken to,
like, I've like laid down the law, like, pretty early
and make sure I like, understood the intentions.
Like, what their last relationship was like,
like, what their, you know, like, goals are
in a relationship and stuff like that.
So I can just, like, write off the bat
and know whether it's worth putting my time and effort into it.
- Yeah, 'cause you're not just wasting time.
I'm waste, man.
- Oh, please.
- You did waste your time on one, I fear.
- I did waste my time on one.
- But we'll get into that in a second, because.
(upbeat music)
- Okay, for the next bit, I was like,
I kind of want to, not spill, yeah, I want to spill 17.
- I mean, why else am I here?
- Right, and, but I didn't want to just like,
directly ask you like questions and stuff.
I was like, how can I like, sort of, like,
get her to spill 17?
And I thought, "Let's do never have a ever.
We love a never have a ever."
Right?
- Literally, we played this last night too.
- Really, it's such a fun icebreaker,
especially when you're in a group of people
that you don't really know and like, maybe things
are a little bit awkward.
I'm telling you, next time you're in a group of people,
or you're up preys, you're having drinks,
I mean, you don't have to be drinking alcohol to do this.
It makes it a little bit more fun.
But also, you don't have to, please don't drink alcohol
if you're under it.
But, we love games.
We play games like every single function.
- It just makes the time a lot more fun.
Otherwise, like, it just is awkward.
Anyway, never have ever a great one.
And every time you've done the thing, you have to drink.
That's like, or, that's our go-to.
So I just thought we could like,
I mean, I think I know all the answers to this anyway,
because we play it so often, that you guys don't.
So let's do it.
Okay, so are we drinking if we do it, or coffee?
- Yeah.
- Okay.
Never have I ever joined the Mile High Club.
Really?
- Yeah, you didn't know that?
- I feel like I did.
No, please give me a bit of context to this.
Where on the plane was it?
In the bathroom?
Was this just like a, what type of flight are we talking?
What is it?
- Just a regular flight.
- Just a regular, like.
- It was a long ass flight.
- Okay.
Where are we going?
- I was going to Thailand, I think.
- Did you enjoy it?
- No.
- Because I think that sounds like my hell.
- Yeah, definitely.
- I'd be panicking the whole time.
- I mean, it's just like the tiniest room
we could ever think of.
Like, it's not, it's not it, it's fully for the mail.
- And imagine being caught.
I have been caught before.
- Oh my god, this has happened more than one time.
- Yes.
- Oh my god, that is, wow.
I like wanna do it.
I don't wanna do it at all.
I wanna do it just so that I can drink
when people say never have I ever joined the Mile High Club.
Okay, never have I ever been kicked out of a bar or club.
- No.
- I have so many times.
- We're being like way too drunk.
- Yeah.
- 100%.
- Really?
- Yeah.
- Yeah, I remember one time I was black or a tape.
- I've never been there.
- Just like a proper club type thing.
- Yeah, like, oh my god, wait.
I need to tell the story about the tape thingy.
- It's insane.
- Okay, so I once went to tape with,
- A boy.
- Well, a couple people, but there was a boy in it
that I was like, you know,
We were like kissing or whatever or whatever anyway, and we go to the photo booth and we take photos in the photo booth
It's like it's a photo booth like where the only ones that are ever gonna see this we're like kissing in the photos
It's very very bit like the photos are very bit, but I was like fuck it like I don't know
You went home forgot about it. Yeah, like I still got the little photo booth photos
There's a little memory. No one's ever gonna see these
Then I got tied in the TikTok and the caption was and a Libyanio at tape
Yeah, like a million other people listed and it was basically just
They had just basically exposed like every single like person of the internet who was at that club
Yeah, and that got in that photo booth, but obviously my my mom was the fucking worse
Yeah, everyone else is just like that with their friends like smiling and I'm literally like snogging a boy
And yours was the first one. Yeah, and the caption was a livenil uses the tape at photo booth
So we use it or something and I was like why me like there was people like who was in that in that like there was
Really famous people in that swipe and it put them first like they are way more famous
Like I'm not that I'm famous, but you know what I mean like why the fuck am I being the one being it out here?
Like it was literally a personal talk and I was also like this is not like shortly
This is not I mean obviously they can do whatever it was like a violation right and I just I just I texted them on Instagram
This is a violation please take this though. And yeah, they're like sorry
But anyway, yeah, this this club. I got way too drunk. It's because like they give you free shots
Well, why I've never heard of free shots at a club. Yeah, it's it's the promoter club scene in London
It's very odd to basically this like a lot of clubs here. I'm sure they have them in America promoter clubs like table clubs
Well, it's like quite a big culture in London for like girls. It's just we all like we all I don't go anymore
I used to when I was younger, but like no no shan if you do like get free drink go you but basically like girls
Just get in for free
They go with like a promoter they go to like a promoter dinner and then yeah that kind of thing
And then they just get like fed free alcohol all night. It's kind of dark and like the man just like sit like it's like really weird
Like I like I had a really dark time and I was like it's in used to go to them like every night anyway
And yeah, I got fed lots of alcohol and got carried out of that a bit
Yeah, that's something several times just because they feed you alcohol. So she really scary. I don't think I've ever been blackout drunk or like
Yeah, no, yes
Okay, moving on
And never have I ever got a tattoo
I was a boring one
Really?
Okay, well I got I got one once as well, but it fell off
It fell off. Yeah, one time me and my ex were on holiday. Oh, this is a story you want it to tell yeah
Well, no, I actually was interested to hear yours. Oh, I have a you can't see it. I'm my uncle
I have a lock what's the meaning behind it me and my best friend a free from home that we like grew up together
Right before we went on a big trip to Thailand on our gap year. We got matching locks. Oh, that's cute
I don't know if I would ever do that get a matching tattoo with someone
It's I mean like it's not that it's not like if it were like something else like I'd probably work
I don't like the placement. That's the only thing I don't mind the lock. I just hate it
It's just a little too high on my ankle, but no, I wouldn't I probably wouldn't do it now
But or I would get it like somewhere else. That's more like hidden. Mm-hmm
I also have this paper clip that I got an event and I really regret this one
I just cover it up with a ring. Oh, that's the thing that I was supposed to bring in a tattoo is because I know I would regret it
Yeah, never getting another tattoo. Yeah, but me and my ex once we were on holiday in Greece
And there was like a really like we have these places in Europe. I guess it's probably similar in America like to
Florida
Like okay, so is it like we call it like Brits abroad places like where like people will go when they're like 18 or 19 or whatever
It really and they just get really drunk. They go on holiday there. Yeah, like what what would your equipment be like Dominican Republic or like Cuba or
That feels like too nice. So like I'm talking like this is like like I'm people would go for like they're like March
They would play like a March break thing spring break
Okay, yeah, well, yeah, okay, basically like my army beach type vibe. Yeah, I guess my army to yeah
Okay, well, we have like we've got a few places in
in
Europe we've got like Megalo if we've got
Benadorn and there's one called Malia as well anyway, so I was on holiday in Greece and it was actually a really really beautiful island
But we were near Malia. So it's like 45 minute drive and I fucking let's just go and Malia for a night
We went out and we were having like buckets of cocktails, you know like like really tacky stuff and
Got really really drunk and got matching tattoos on the bottom more feet. We got each other's initials and they fell off
Yeah, they were real tattoos, but they don't recommend getting tattoos in the bottom of your feet because like you're constantly sweating
We went in the pool, but it was crazy. So we basically got the tattoos and we got in like well, he was really drunk and
Sort of screaming at me like we like we got in a big fight. No, no, yeah, we got an argument
I was like crying on the street. He was like shorting up me like people were like coming up to us
And I was like I can't believe I was going to tattoo with this guy. I'm gonna fell off and I was like
Thank you. Someone is up there. Never have I ever called someone on no-color ID
We literally do this like every other day when we're bored. Prank calling is the most fun thing
Not even yeah, we've become avid prank colors. Honestly, we we're not even prank colors
We just call them from our own phones. Yeah
We need to like bring that back as a society of prank calling like it is. I mean sometimes like my number will get late
And I'll get like random calls from people and I know it's like
Yeah, like I do does that ever happen to you
But I think I pick up random numbers. I never picked them up
I always do because I'm like what if it's like I don't know like I want the disappointment tomorrow
Like what if they're like a caught into cancel, you know, I just always answer I especially know color IDs
And I think it's because like I still take talking is like and when like
He maybe like he may forget you, but he'll think of you every time he gets a no-color ID call
Yeah, I think he did and
And like honestly anytime I get a no-color ID. I'm like, oh, it's Pax
So they go for him like I do think of him
Delusions
What do we get into that?
Oh, yeah, but like I will always answer like unknown unknown numbers just like or like even like I'll put other answer
Just put it on mute to see if anyone says anything really now. I get too anxious. I'm just like I'd rather
I don't like speaking on the phone in general to be honest. Yeah, I got that never have I ever ghosted someone
I've never ghosted anyone. I don't talk to people though. So I've been ghosted
basically that
We stayed up really really late. We're really really drunk
Yeah, if you watch our imports vlog
You know the bit where I'm dancing and I'm like talking where far so like I'm clearly like parallel to it
Literally, we're paralytic and like that was the night that we were sending voice notes to boys and that's the night that really got ghosted
I fear I fear we went a little too far and we sent some crazy voice notes and I was never spoken to again
And it was actually insane the audacity is like
It's such a I mean if you knew the context I was not interested in this person whatsoever
She was set up by a mutual friend
I was set up by a mutual friend and I was like really skeptical. I don't like meeting people. He's not my type whatsoever. He's ancient
He's like 30
Older than 30. No, he's like 35. Yeah
Sorry
No, he's a 35-year-olds. It's just she's too young for that. I'm also not until I'm not into older
It's not my not my cup of tea. It's some people's anyway
Wasn't my it wasn't my vibe off the bat, but I was like okay like
Apparently we'll get along. Let me go. So text them a little bit stand them up three times like I really was trying to avoid this
And then finally I'm like fuck it. Let me just go. It was me who was like you need to just do it
Because I also I had never been on a date before like a proper like meet someone and go on a date
I'd never done that so I was like okay a new experience. It's just got out of relationship
Let me just and you start somewhere. So I went we actually got along really well hung out for a couple like as consecutively a bunch and then
Text me all throughout winter break and then
Gets fussed over a little voice note and just ghost me how immature of a 35-year-old man to go someone is insane
Is insane right if I'm 35 years old and I'm ghosting 23-year-olds. Please have a word with me literally
Out of his mind, out of his mind, but you know, it's all good. I wish him well
We actually had a really bad run in the other day. So we were we were out for dinner
And we were basically getting like we were walking to the left to get the left on like what nine floors
Like it's like it's a good like live ride anyway as we're about to walk into the left
Another man walks into the left and it's someone that I ghosted
So awkward. This is the thing that when someone goes to my friend and like they are the most disgusting human in the world
And that's so immature and horrible and like they should be cancelled
But like I have I've done it before and it's literally I was young
I was like 20 and this guy was like 27 so
Sometimes like if you're gonna date a 20-year-old you just gonna accept that they're gonna be a little bit immature
And I'm really bad at confrontation
I'm like especially with situations like that when you're just like kind of you're not there's nothing to end
You're not gonna be like I want to break up because so you're not like actually dating
Yeah, so then it's like what like I'd rather just not say anything and just drift from you
But I fear I did go someone anyway the mom that walks into the left is the guy that I ghosted
And it was so I thought it was so awkward Ruby said she didn't think it was that awkward
I also didn't know the situation whatsoever. I knew this man was I was like hey
I just felt terrible. It wasn't awkward though. Like it was fine. Yeah, I was just confused because you were trying to run out
You you were like what'd you say? You're like oh, we're gonna go to the movies. I was like, what I know
I just oh I just from I just like I'm really bad in situations like that
And it's actually just because I feel really bad like I wouldn't do that anymore
Like if I was in the situation with someone you've learned your lesson. Yeah, where I wanted to end things
I would be like I would just communicate it. Yeah communication is key guys. Yeah, but I was young and dumb
Anyway, next never have I ever got with an ex's friend
Really
Really I
Mean not technically yeah, I mean met through him. I mean I guess I was yeah
The world is a small place
You know, I would never get with my ex is like best friend. That's fucked up. Yeah, let's clarify. We're not like I want to clarify
We're not like no talking about like
Specific I'm not talking about like I'm not talking what friend is in like you guys would meet up and hang on
I'm talking more like an an associate. Yeah, like someone's like part of their friend group. Yeah, not go this
I owe me over till I die sorry. I
I should probably say that. No, yeah, I'm not I'm really actually not like every guy you're with from now on
It's just me so pearly around
As I ever happened to you like have you ever got on like with not like yeah
Like been seeing a boy whatever and they bring you around different and you're like oh for fuck sake like I chose their own
No, but I've had friends who I've like paranoid to bring life
Yeah, really yeah, I have I've known a lot of girls actually like you can just tell they just like flirt with your boyfriend
Right in front of you and you're like what the fuck? Oh, yeah, it's not cute
Girl, we're not like that though. No, I'd bring your one anyone. Yeah, same
Okay, never ever hurt that was someone more than 10 years older than me
What does hook up me get kiss
No, I guess yeah, she has I haven't I did a full podcast of what this being like not a full podcast
But I was like I don't really love and
Like an older man. I don't either this I'm talking about the one who goes to me. Mm-hmm. Yeah
You've learned your last and you'll never do that again. I never have ever been in a physical fight
Me neither but also guys look at this look because you see this on the camera it looks like I've been in a physical fight
I basically the other day
My my washing machine was broken and there was like these like weird like signals flashing up
And I was trying to troubleshoot it and I ran my mom and dad never from the phone to me and they're like
You need like get like an out of Tristan or like a professional to help you like we can't like I don't have no idea what to do
And I was like, you know, I'm not fucking do this. Maybe it just left for Paris and her jeans were stuck inside the washing machine
And I want I need to get Ruby's jeans like for her like I need to do this because it wasn't opening because it was broken
So I literally get under the washing machine like I'm like DIY-ing like I'm a proper like I'm a tradesman. Yeah, I'm a handy man and
Trying to like get underneath it to fix it and my hand gets stuck in something sharp and I cannot move my hand
And I literally just have to like rip my hand though, and it was like blood everywhere. It was so bad
But at the end of the day, I fixed the washing machine. I
Can't wait to get my clothes. I know I folded them all up nicely for you put them in a little pile. Yeah
She's are coming off
Okay
Never have ever skinny dipped
I actually don't think I have I don't think I have either. I would have had the like it was like the right opportunity
But I don't it's never happened for me. I am just not really body confident enough. Yeah, to be fair
Like it would really depend on what like is there really a reason this can eat it
I mean like if you were with like a significant other
But also like why don't you have a bikini on like I just I've never been like I think of it more like at night
Oh, I would never go in the sea at night never or like maybe no, I said maybe like this because me and Ruby
I've told you guys but we've got like a lot of plans to travel this year
Yes, and I feel like it could be quite liberating for us to go to a nudist beach. I think we could do that in Thailand
Yeah, but like I don't really want to see your vagina
Yeah, like I don't know interesting going to a newbie. No
Like I don't really sat there like send me they like come to the high really nice vibe
And then there'd be like a ball suck at my face like that's disgusting
I'm just not into like I'm I'm not a huge like naked person. I'm saying I'm no interest. No, so yeah. No, it never skinny
Speaking of body confident. I think this is so funny. There's like full circle moment because it must have been what like
March last March last year so nearly a year ago
I came on my podcast and I was like guys are fucking decided that I'm gonna finally get a boot job
My main inspiration is Ruby Lynn everyone do look at Ruby Lynn's tits because that's what I'm gonna get
Like I fully I'm like we were not like I knew you at this stage when I was like after the hug trip
Yeah, okay, we met once but like not like close. It was more like Instagram mutual
And I remember I like got tagged in something like a clip or like someone tagged me and something
I think like came here from Olivia's podcast. I was like well
Yeah, like what did you think were you like oh that's so creepy this girl
I randomly know is showing my tits to like her like like around a man. It was a surgeon, but still
No, I didn't think anything of it. I was like flattered. Oh, yeah
Cuz I I think I get like I really not I don't flattered because it's not actually mine
It's silicone and maybe or but like people messaged me all the time
I mean like I want to get my boobs done and like you're like exactly what I want because it looks natural
Sometimes it doesn't are not sure. No, it does like quite natural. Oh, they do and they're always like
I'm flipping test. Thank you. They don't look like yours though. No, no, I'm natural actually there actually I mean
I had I had a breast production. Isn't that crazy?
I know when you told me that I was like what you know no one knows well, no, they don't I never actually
I feel like I have never said it were you like how big wear your boobs before you got a breast reduction
Fucking gigantic. I don't even know what they were. That's crazy. I cannot imagine my huge tits
That's also so interesting because most people would like died I have huge tits and you just like got rid of yours
I'm not I'm not like I hate I'm like a person who doesn't like attention and
Physically meant like it just in general like if I'm in a crowd. I don't want to be looked at and
That makes people look at you. So I would always just try and like
Make them as flat as possible and then it just got to what I was like
Okay, let me get rid of these they were just I was so self-conscious of them
There's the best decisions I ever made just like you feel like that for years, you know
Well, it's so interesting as well because we we when we were discussing this I
Think a breast reduction is a little bit more expensive than a boob job just because
A boob job is literally make a tiny slit insert the silicone close it
That's it. Where's the breast reduction? Like you're actually like removing a part of your body
It's kind of reshaping. Yeah, so it is a bit more intense. I think it's a little bit more expensive, but
Context I think a boob job in the UK is like three and a half to five K
I'm that's like going private. Well, you can only really go private I guess and so I was like how much is it in the
US to get a breast reduction? It was like 20k isn't that insane? I could not get over that the difference in price
Well, I guess it's like all of medicine. I'm curious to know what it would be like what it would be to get a breast reduction in the UK a lot cheaper than that
You should have talked to a lot of people a lot of people have said it's like whoa, that's a lot of I don't know
Maybe I just like went to some super private place, but it's like everywhere
I think everything in the US is way more expensive. Well, it's also like yeah, like I had to like every single time I got like a
a check-up
Yeah, like a scan or like an ultrasound or whatever the term is
Like you have to pay like a six hundred dollars every single time you see a doctor like even when I went from my initial
Like I had to go do a check-up just so she could like check me out
Six hundred dollars and then she tells me oh you have to come back in two weeks when you're not on your period
I'm like okay, another six hundred dollars like they just scam you. Yeah, that's crazy
And what it's so we just got a fat check it's six thousand five hundred points to get a breast reduction in the UK
You should have come to the UK. It's like the UK. Do you know what we're turkey?
Like that people in the UK go to like a lot of time going to turkey for surgery
Oh really because way cheaper over there. Oh, but like there's so many horror stories of the minute that are coming away
I boy like that's a thing like I would want to just go somewhere that I like feel really confident trust
Oh, yeah, because what's the equivalent to turkey that you guys have in America people go somewhere to get like BBLs and stuff where is it people go to
Um, where do they go? It's like someone saw the America or something
I have no way to have never heard of this. I'm not really versed on the BBL culture
Where do people go to get BBLs? Where do people go to get BBLs?
Oh, I think they go to Miami to get BBLs. Oh, yeah, that would make sense. I feel like Miami is a place to
Yeah, there's a TikTok song about that just to see Dr. Miami. No. Anyway, you guys might know what I'm talking about
Okay, guys anyway, I really hope you enjoyed the podcast today. I really enjoyed having you on Ruby. Sorry
I was quite like low energy guys keep like I'm she's running on zero or something my brain can't handle everything
That's going on. I think you're like really good energy today. I
Just like I feel like it's gonna I come across as like
Bad vibes because I'm just sat here. Like you're high energy like smile
Like I don't know I'm getting in my head. Don't over think you think I'm a horrible
You're no I can't I hate when they do that they meet me think all the time like well
That basically my accent has like definitely changed since I moved to London. Yeah, like you speak like obviously
I grew up in Northern Ireland proper like Northern Irish. I mean, it was always a little bit like on the posher side
I think and but since moving to like London. I would know it actually wasn't that posh
But when I and my school there were people who were really like they would speak really really posh
And I used to hate their accent like I used to think it was so horrible like they would say like wait
You can have posh Irish and Northern Irish. Yeah, there are definitely like like people will be like
I don't know how to explain it
But if you're listening to some Northern Irish on the one. I mean like really posh like
They'll say gate instead of gate
I say gate I know but okay, you're supposed to say you're supposed to say or like wait in Northern Ireland
We say sure okay, and if you're really posh you'd be like shower
Yeah, it's interesting, but anyway, I think I know speak like those posh accents that I hated and I
Already hated that about myself because I don't fucking do it on purpose, you know, you just like yeah
Sometimes your accent changes that's natural when you live somewhere else or like you're traveling all the time
Yeah, and it's not something that you should like to hate about that all the time
I get so many messages and hate comments being like like your accent's so grim nor like why do you change your accent?
Like why did you like and I'm like I fucking didn't do it if like Olivia is out here
I think studying asks like you know like what would be the point in that like sat in my hall is being like shower shower
I just can't believe some of the things that people think yeah, but like I really get on my own head aboard it
And I'm like you know what you shouldn't get in your head with these things. Yeah, so don't get your head now
Well, I love you guys. I just and I love Olivia and I hope you love us too
