Movies on a Plane + Not Overthinking

The podcast blends humor, personal storytelling, and cultural commentary to explore themes of authenticity, mental well-being, and spontaneity. Hosts Benito and Mary reflect on everyday experiences—like eating vegan food, watching movies on planes, or styling hair—to highlight how overthinking can stifle joy and connection. They advocate for embracing vulnerability, reducing performance, and prioritizing fun over perfection, especially in relationships and self-expression. The conversation touches on personal milestones, fashion, wellness products, and social dynamics, often using light-hearted anecdotes to underscore deeper messages. From recommending sleep and hair care brands to celebrating community-based moments like group hangouts or spontaneous parties, the show promotes a lifestyle rooted in presence and authenticity. A recurring theme is the power of simple, unfiltered human moments—like a text sent in nervousness or a party in Brooklyn—over curated, over-analyzed experiences. Ultimately, the podcast champions a mindset of letting go, trusting intuition, and finding joy in the unscripted, reminding listeners that life’s most meaningful moments often come from not overthinking.

The following podcast is a Deer Media production. I'm Benito Skinner. I'm Mary Vephrone. And this? Is? Right. Right. Never underestimate the power of a good fuck. I have shown up at your performance so many times and said that first thing. And I realize I've never said that on the podcast. What's that from? Nothing. That's. Sometimes you've got. It sounds like Samantha Jones. Yes, but she's never said that. Like, of course, that's the inspiration. But Mandela effect is she has. Probably. In the Fleet Week episode. I know, there are lifesaver in my mouth. We're back at Hof Studios. Do you know what? You asked me if gluten-free bread is still carbs. And I said, "Yes, I don't know how, but I do know that they are." I don't know what makes the carb a carb. Remember when we walked by that vegan restaurant in Williamsburg? And literally, like, I could feel my body start to make a fart. Yeah. Like, I could feel. That place is so good. But only if you want to, like, not see anyone for the rest of the day. Well, the witchcraft of vegan food. Vegan Mexican. I vegan nachos once. And, oh my god, it was like, have you heard of the term "Guff"? God, I can't even say that. No, but I'm scared. Guff is like, it's like a. It's. I think I wouldn't say British slang, but it's like a. The Brits will send us a "Guff" as a word. I love you not as a fart. And I'm like, there's something about it that's. I find nothing tickles me more except a water company being called basically. It's like, turn it more, turn it more. Basically. Well, it's basically water. Just like, squirt is basically pee. I love the thought that it's basically like, there might be something else in it. It's kind of what they're implying. It's basically water. Shop basically at Gopav. Just like, this is basically a podcast. This is basically a podcast. No, total. And over-compassioning is basically a comedy, but I don't know. There's other things. Right. The natural kind. I wanted to just say and come clean about the fact that this top is my last item of clothing that I own from Brandy Melville. After I watched the Brandy Melville documentary, which I highly encourage everyone to go do, there's a lot of. There's a lot of inconvenient truths in there. Yeah. Inconvenient truths. It's a spiritual sequel to inconvenient truths. It's a great title, by the way. Yeah, go or. I know you did a vote for him. I know we. What are we gonna burn this witch? Did he ever actually say that he invented the internet or was that just SNL? It's one of those things where I'm not sure. I agree, I don't know. But we should watch. Everyone should watch the Brandy Melville documentary. It's not just about how the company's destroying the planet. It's also about how the people at the top of the company are neo-nautsies. Okay, sorry. I went completely somewhere else during that and they agree with everything you say and all you take. I know. I tell people that. I tell people that. I literally do. I say, I know that I talk about politics more, but what's great about Benny is that if I tell him something as a certain way, he believes me and he will tell other people. And that's how it should be. And if I could find a straight guy like that. You might. with my mustache. Oh my god, that was. That was really scary. Also, every time I talk about dating guys, people are like, "Why don't you just date a girl?" And it's like, "I'm doing that too. Calm down." He's. Please calm down. Easy, Sally. I. Let's not talk in Sally into this. Cut it all. No, we're keeping it. Of course, the Brandy Melville, and you're talking about an incoming truth made me think of, of course, Michael Moore. The Michael Moore Fahrenheit 9/11. And in my head, I thought to myself, "Oh my god, that's who I want for your actors on actors." He's not an actor at all, but it's you and Michael Moore. Well, it's two of our great thinkers that we have. I literally. It's thinkers on thinkers. To people, you've done the same things for me in a lot of ways. And I think, like, those are those combinations. I literally, like, interview Mag. I want him to do the interview of you. I could, we could maybe overcompensate in press. I want to do a roundtable. It's me, Michael Moore, Brady Corbe. So good. And Don Sheetle. Oh, I was going to say Don Sheetle, but actually. Similar to you. Well, it's always tipped for tat with them. If you don't get one, you try to get the other. I think that's us lately. Yeah. Because, like, we be getting each other's scraps low-key. Well, also, people talk to me as if they talk to me. They continue conversations they've had with you with me. And I do know what they're talking about. But it's just, like, it's a good thing we talk as much as we do. All right, finish this mint. You don't have to apologize. I wonder how Chad from the "Sona's Day" went. I don't know, but I hope we hear. Does he understand you can be contacted on social media? No, I think we both knew that that was it for us. And it was perfect. And it was, and it was beautiful. And it was brutal. I'm thinking about, I'm thinking about, like, spas and their relationship to brutalist architecture. Yeah. And Millennial Cemetery, which we haven't talked about in a while. Oh, my God. Well, I've heard that's very brutalist. It's very brutalist. Yeah. Well, I didn't even realize that. Of course. You guys know that our Millennial Cemetery, which also has Froyo cremation or crematory. Crematory. Crematory. And it's all white slabs and it's all flat. There's, um, so Go Greek opened in New York City. And I mean, oh, my God, like, the pavement is hot. I mean, it's basically like, it's like the Whitney. Like, there's a line. Of course, there's a line. You know what, some, I think people get so mad about line culture. And I'm like, I think it's cool that people are excited about something. Well, good things come to those who wait. Exactly. It's very exact. And it's very this for some reason. Mm-hmm. It's fiction. It's, it's, it's, it's flirting like this. Uh-huh. Has it been working? Have you used the things I've tried? It hasn't worked, but I've, I've been trying. And it's, we're going to get into, when I talk about overthinking, I have a really good story to share. I can't believe it. Like, some people have been like, oh, God. The way some people have been mutilated. Like what? And their tongues have been cut out. Oh, like who? I don't know. There's a war and stuff. Yeah, like, prison and so forth. But it's like, if you want me to tell the secrets, like, I have to keep it. Totally. And also, it's like, you can cut out my tongue, but I'll probably still find a way to say it. Well, yeah, I know how you'd say it. Oh, and the old one we were in Venice was talking about how you wear blush. Wait, tell me everything. It literally went by too fast. How I wear blush. Well, we were talking about like beauty, uh, inspirations. And he said, you as one of them. And he's like, I've never seen someone wear blush like that. And I wanted to say it, but I didn't, because he's a Sorba was there. I was going to say, well, he puts it on his whole. And I've never seen that either. But I just, I made, I implied it. Yeah, you go. I didn't see you. You waited. And then you go, you head out the door. You put toasted Teddy on your, on your own toasted Teddy. You know what I mean? So if anyone wants to know how I'll do blush, I don't, am I wearing something today? I don't even know. It's just, it's also, it's your blonde. So how could you ever know? I don't have a stitch on. I mean, basically, you do like a little. And I, um, who taught me this? I think this is from Romney. Romney, nature. The most hunky, delicious, perfect makeup artist in the world. He was like, go really high because it's like, it looks sporty like you're sweating. So I go really high. I do a little nose. And then recently, a friend of mine was like, you do this bone because this on men kind of protrudes. Mm-hmm. So then he's like, this would get a little crispy too. Yeah. I'm gonna be the woman who lives in her shoe. I'm Carrie. You are Carrie. But I think I'm Carrie too in a way. I think we can all be Carrie if we want. And even if we don't want, sometimes you're Carrie. I've never been Miranda once. And I'm not saying that because I think, of course you have, sweetie. 'Cause I had a child out of wedlock with a bar tender. Do you think I, I just don't see Miranda from me? I mean, I know I'd love her. I am dating Army Hammer. I, she is with Army Hammer. I loved, okay, I, the tick.comments are so, I think like, it is where people come alive as it's, it's community. It's community and it's like zingers. It is true comedian's. Army Hammer was on some podcast and he said he was like, it's just crazy that I can't, like, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm change. And I'll always be known for this one thing. And one girl was like, um, cannibalism. She's like, is there anything worse than like when you're a cannibal once and then everyone gets mad? It's like, wait, they, no, this isn't like, you're not a victim here. You're a fucking crazy person. Cannibal. You're a cannibal. Yeah. There's, there is no coming back from cannibalism. I guess it's not relearning. I guess I'm like, I think I'll have empathy for you. That, that's like what you desire. I don't, that's like, also that you did it. It was someone that maybe didn't want to do it. So then it was like, not on. Yeah. And then came and spoke out. Yeah. I'm like, yeah, babe, I don't, this isn't really like a, hey, you miss my birthday party kind of situation. No, it's like, hey, you're like, yeah. So you're a cannibal. Oh, so yeah, that's your handbook. The handbook, the cannibal. You're a cannibal. But I am excited for you guys. I haven't followed him yet, but I might. You will. You will. I can't wait for our first pap walk, you know. I'm an arm and arm and arm and me. Arm and hammer. That's your, wait, that's your first, you, you have your arm around him. And you said that's your captain. Arm and hammer and you're looking at the camera. And he's looking forward. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That's going to be great. Yeah, I can't wait. I love that. I wonder where he is. Wasn't he selling real estate in like the Bahamas? Is that what I heard? He was selling time shares. But yet he still thinks he's smarter than us. But did he play the Vincolvus? Yeah. But he played both. He played the Vincolvus. He played the Vincolvai. Of course. To me, I'm just like, why not just for- Oh, I know. But they're a Republican. So if I could ask David Fincher anything, I'd ask why not just cast twins? That's so difficult. And same with hair and trots. Well, we know that sucks. Do they have to do double shit? Like obviously Lindsey Lohan was perfect, but my God. did you know that in in the social network another actor played the 20? and then they CGIed his face over the other actor. - Oh. - That's a tough blow. - It's like when I got cut from bros. - Well, it's like when you got cut from bros. - Have I told this story? - I don't know. - It's like my favorite thing ever. - Oh, and how when we found out, remember when we found out after the wedding show, which was our worst show we've ever done? - Our show we've ever done. We just did not, it was crazy. - Well, it was many, many things went wrong. It was Murphy's Law that night. Charlie Puth was there. And then we went to dinner after to try his salvage tonight and you got an email in that moment saying you'd been cut from bros. - Well, it was really beautiful. Billy emailed me personally. And was like the scene just like we, if we just had to cut a few of these scenes in this whole sequence. And it was like really lovely, it was so nice. It's kind of like both beautiful and just so like mortifying. The movie came out and I was like, I think it's important to go to theaters for all gay things. I will always buy a ticket for gay things. That's why I was at the Odyssey twice. - Serenade. - Of course. So I, I told my sister, I'm like, will you come with me to bros at the Century City Mall? Which I mean, it's like as far as malls go, you and I recently went there when we were in LA. And I mean, could you believe it? - Universal City Walk. - No, no, no, babe. The mall we were at, where we had Zincay. - Oh, oh. - We had Labo, which is very, just we'd say that. - Labo. - Labo. - I'll have Labo. - Labo. - Thank you. - With cauliflower rice. So I just tickled you. So I have my sister take me and so we go, and it's opening night and 'cause it's like butts and seats. And so I'm there and Billy shows up and to do an intro. - An intro kind of like popping my penis. - Surprise. - I don't know if he saw me, 'cause I was just like, oh my God, if he saw me, it would just, he probably feels so bad, but he was lovely and lovely about the whole thing. I think the clip exists on like a deleted scene somewhere, 'cause I saw it on TikTok. - Oh, I wanna see it. - But it was really fun. - I watched all your work. - Thanks for your spoke. - I was fully like in which drag. - Right. - I was like a makeup. - And Jay Jordan was there if I'm not mistaken. - He was, oh my God, I would have to see that. - And Vinnie. Vinnie Thomas. - Oh my God. - Yeah, it was, we were the three witches. - Right, well, I gotta see that. - Yeah, it's a good, we had really, I had so much fun doing that. I've never been more nervous. It was the first time in my life I haven't slept before something. - 'Cause you were nervous. - So, it was the first time I had done a movie, it was really-- - This was also like pandemic vibes. Like things were reopening sort of. - I think so, yeah, it was. It was like 20 years. - The pressure was on. - Yeah, maybe 2021, 2020? I don't know. - Oh, speaking of movies, should we get into what we ride for? - God, I'd really love that. - I'm gonna ride for not overthinking. - I'm gonna ride for movies on planes. - Hey you guys, guys being gender neutral, of course. Okay, just deal with that. So I've started thinking about my mattress as a part of my recovery routine. So since switching to my mattress from Brooklyn bedding, my spine feels supported. My body fully relaxes when I sleep and I'm not fighting to get comfortable at night. I fall asleep faster and I wake up feeling genuinely restored. This shit has been a real difference in how I feel every day. And sometimes I wake up and don't wanna bitch slap the first person I talk to. Brooklyn bedding designs and assembles every mattress in their Arizona factory. Zona girls rise. No middlemen, no gimmicks, just top tier quality, honest pricing, and real American craftsmanship for a better night's sleep. Brooklyn bedding is an all-American success story, just like Mary Beth Barone. A guy named John started a doll in Arizona. He learned the trade and betrayed and built his business from the ground up without a college degree, just like AMD. Fast forward to today and it's still family run right here in the USA. Brooklyn bedding, no sleep, isn't one size fits all. That's why they offer mattresses for everybody, every sleep style, even in hard-to-find sizes. Sleep hot, Brooklyn bedding uses glacial text, which is what I have. These are covers and they're copper-infused foams and temperature-regulating materials to help keep you cool and comfortable all night long. So daddy sweats and he wakes up in a pool of sweat and sometimes he thinks it's pee but it's not, it's sweat. So glacial text really helps me. I'm not sure you can take Benny drama's word for it. Well, Brooklyn bedding has been awarded the best hybrid mattress by WireCutter. Go to Brooklynbedding.com and use my promo code ride at checkout to get 30% off site-wide. - During the fall sale. - That's Brooklynbedding.com and promo code ride for 30% off site-wide, exclusive with my code. If you don't know Hill House, they're the brand behind the viral nap dress. One with the signature smocking that somehow makes everyone look good and feel amazing. It's been spotted on Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and half the way the list goes on. That's right, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, it has bridged that gap much like Gracie Abrams. What makes Hill House different is how wearable everything is. Same dress for a coffee run, dinner out, a wedding, the beach, you never have to overthink it. And it's not just the dresses, the swim styles and tunics are perfect for your next vacation or a day at the pool. I guess I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that my sheets and bedding are from Hill House home. So you can go to hillhousehome.com and see new arrivals or you can buy the literal same sheets that I have that I share with my dog Pinkie and every time I post, people are like, wait, where are those sheets from. So visit hillhousehome.com and use code reddit checkout for 20% off your first purchase of $150 or more. That's hillhousehome.com and use code reddit checkout for 20% off your first purchase of $150 or more. I'm actually going to hillhousehome right now. On.com 'cause I want to look at the viral nap dress. I just feel like that's something I might need for the summer. So let's look at dresses. Okay, visit hillhousehome.com and use code reddit checkout for 20% off your first purchase of $150 or more. You should, I think you should go first. - Bro, this is a great one. - Bro, this is a great movie to watch on a plane. I believe I rented it when it was out on demand and I watched it at home. - Hey. Outline. - Come on. That beam means a lot in LGBT. - Right, right. - Right. (laughing) So I've been loving movies on planes. I think it's something different and the choice is made. I don't think a line sometimes with what your regular choice for a movie would be in a way. So recently I did, I was on a plane and I watched cars and 300 and as I told you, it's the Costco, the double pack, the Jizm pack. - The Jizm pack. (laughing) Do you want to talk more about that? - There's something for all the boys. But I couldn't believe how long cars was. That was a takeaway. It's a really beautiful film. But I'm like, wow. I see why it kind of didn't appeal to me as a kid. Kind of nothing about it is our things I like. And that's no hate to rascal flats. That's just not- - We would never throw hate at rascal flats. Life is a highway. - Not once in my life and I'm going to ride it. - And I'm going to ride it. - All right, fucking long. - And that is a song and cheaper ride that doesn't as well. - Thank you. - Come on, it's always when they're kind of like getting their life together. So I watched that and then I watched your art butler in 300. I have a crazy take on this and I wonder, I would love to do an essay on it. - Mm-hmm. - I feel like it could really shake up the industry. So. - Oh, I know what you're going to say. - In 300, I remember when 300 came out, I was like, these are the biggest guys I've ever seen in my life. But in Royde culture and maybe the marvel of the occasion of masculinity and peptides, they're obviously ripped and look incredible. But like, I wouldn't say they're, I've seen bigger guys in marble things of course. - I've probably seen bigger guys in Fire Island. - Mama. - It's crazy. - Living in your apartment. - We have to literally. - No, I've seen, I have seen-- - We have to stop this. - I've seen much bigger guys in WeHo, in WeHo at a Shake Shack. - You had a Shake Shack. - It's like, they're not even eating healthy. - No. (laughing) - That is so you telling someone to dinner, they're singular. You're so singular. Hey, you're so fucking singular. So singular for a different day than your twin telling someone that with their birthday. They're singular That's your birthday by the way. These wins are born on different day. No, it's like so singular But I just was watching and I was like whoa, this is so interesting because at the time I was like these guys are yoked Was it true? I think there's a lot watching like entourage america's next top model like these programs that I have a different idea of how people actually looked obviously the bodies the the beauty standards We're still insane and unrealistic But yeah, I my brain was even worse back then. Yeah, I do remember jarred but they're just doing things to my brain that I couldn't even It was just like the crush I had on him. It was just sweet data mom. It was just sweet data moms It was it was all encompassing and but it was so cool because they'd made that movie and I made it. I don't know. Oh Zack Snyder. Yeah, Zack Zack Snyder made that movie and I know that in the back of his mind he thought Everyone's gonna come to this He made something for the whole family because it's like as a gay guy I could talk about that movie in the locker room and it wasn't really like that Yeah, yeah, because they'd be like yeah, I mean tonight we dine and hell he made the movie for closeted guys when I want to go to When I want to go to sugarfish with you and Williamsburg. I just text you tonight. We dine and hell God, I love it there. Me too. Do you remember the best thing that ever happened to us? Do we already talk about it on the phone? I don't remember if we're repeating stories at this point like I guess just enjoy the second way we tell it Heck is also like we've no way of talking. We don't know check our memories to like I wonder like how much I'm retaining in some of it But we were at um sugar fish and Williamsburg and you were trying to show me something. Well someone it's a beautiful Patron. Yes, and with someone dining in had come up to us a Barroni and said she loved the podcast Yeah, so then I was trying to show you someone's Instagram and my first thought was well go ask the Barroni for her phone quickly And I did she gave it to me. We looked at what we needed to look at and it was done deal. Yeah And it was a beautiful moment of sisterhood and community. She was like of course. Yeah, take my phone. It was like It wasn't even like oh, don't look at my search history. It's just like I'll see that. No, you saw the but we laughed at who she had looked up for. I know But I can't remember a season. Sorry. Oh, yeah Wow, this is the legends episode. Well, okay. So I did remember that. That's insane that you remember that I just remember her Going fuck I liked a disease and we don't know why and it's none of our business. No, it's not and it's probably whatever She had a good reason for it. Whatever. Of course she wanted to look him up. I'm like. She's just seeing what type of I don't even know what mine would be like I'm minor just be sorry mine would be like fashion archive accounts And then probably you and then like I do look you up a lot just to see what's happening. Yeah, you're muted So I have to look you up. You have to go and cover your tracks. Yeah, of course, you know I just want to share a movie that I watched on a plane. Please do tell me some of your favorites on my shout out Some that are kind of on planes right now. And they're on the circuit. Yeah. Well recently I watched obsession on a plane Such a yeah, I don't think they made it for that They didn't I watched how to lose a guy in 10 days on a plane recently. I've watched that on planes many times. Devours Prada You know, I have so much I have a hot take on how to lose a guy in 10 days But that we should save for another episode. I can't have something never had What you just lost him Babe, but that's incredible part where he goes. What you just That's incredible My thing with those two fuckers I think we should save this for another episode, but we'll just say it now. We'll say it again later It's just funny to me. I think the one The one thing with that film and it's a perfect film in every way except it does make me sick to my stomach because I'm like Fuck this is just it's it's it's just really good the game of it. Yeah, it's just she's unbelievable on it and he is Composure Composure magazine. It's not composure Why aren't women's magazines talking about how to solve the Israel Palestine conflict because if Andy Anderson was on the case She'd have written about it by now and it would be in calls mode and then she goes at that moment where she goes I meant like shoes or bags Like you know that being such a but she really did say you can write anything so that's kind of like what her? It's like watch your words, but right right right do I think that article was right for composure? No So I think like ultimately the editor is like in the right it's chicken or the egg I'm going totally are we gonna put are we gonna start attracting different readers by having those articles in exactly Or do we have to attract different readers first and then we can have those are you know what I mean I think they're making a sequel that could be huge talk about it's about Andy's career trajectory Them both finding out that they had both been playing games I'm like if that happened with me and someone I'd be like that's my husband right like we're meant for each other Like that's so hot that we were both doing like some little game and for a career is no less Yes, but what I love about Andy Anderson is that when she pulls up to his house She's like I'm not playing games here. I'm gonna make this family love me. She's like that's actually too far. That's the turn. Oh my god I really did oh Shit mama Oh, I love it. I love it. And I love um I love his duke shirt that and then when they take a shower It's very us after a long day and we shower together say water shower with your bestie And she's kind of like I'll say it not as a misogynistic egg guy, but she's kind of doing a lot for my small my smaller boob communities You know what else they're watching? I'm playing my smaller boob communities smaller be boob communities I watch sing song blue another kid Hudson be I haven't seen that it Hudson Hugh Jackman. It's fabulous My parents are obsessed and my mom loved it too. Not four times has my dad said she has a great voice great voice singing Dancing acting. I mean, it's just fabulous. I had nine can't recommend it highly enough I mean, there's not as much dancing, but she can dance. We know that That's another so where she stands. It's funny. You just watch that because I just watched that how it was a guy Well, it's on the planes right now Another thing that I watch on planes. Well, so I watch tar on a plane Because I needed three hours. Yeah, of course three uninterrupted hours That's why I've seen dune two on a plane like multiple times. It didn't detract anything from me. We straight guys just Killed they just killed somebody. It could have been themselves or other When have they ever done that? Well, I've let's say on that okay in my new hour That's 15 minutes right now. Yes. So it's a tight 15. It'll be an hour at some point. Of course It's what it's it's a grow or not a shower. I'll say something that I think is fine to say everyone has so much shame about sometimes not seeing movies It's like yeah, of course sometimes just things didn't land on your desk I just watched practical magic for the first time. I'd never seen it At what a gift I got to see it for the first time. I watched on a plane incredible I now want to watch it again. I'm gonna go see the sequel. We want to study it was Addicted. I don't know why this just didn't like It didn't find a 20 made because we were such a Sandra Bullock house. It's just a blind spot, you know while you were sleeping My goodness gracious. Oh, so while you were sleeping is a crazy flick. I'm fucking upset with that Peter Gallagher. Oh my god I mean miss congeniality Michael can as a gay man. It's like the only time I really love like Of course I'm talking to you. I'm looking at you. I'm looking at you. That's new that's new jersey right day representation on screen. Oh Yes, totally lesbian so good. Gracie. The first departure punishment for parole by later stand. It's the only time You know, we don't pro please. Yes, just that Anzotopia a little, but that's kind of it. Um, oh my god I did another combo recently. That was crazy. I've been doing combos to seven on long flights But I I can't sometimes I watch them and I instantly forget what I watched Mm-hmm, but I remember like I remember the experience of it down the road randomly I personally like watching animated more because it's like I want to think less Mm-hmm, but I want to think more But then I said that and then I was like exactly, but I watched elemental, which is a romcom. I think so much this I literally like was sobbing on the plane. So I did that I I had only seen Shakespeare in love once as a kid and I rewatched it recently I think I watched it on plane too. Oh god, I was really good. I would have loved to be with you Yeah, we started at the same time. We didn't date in the sky I know they were supposed to have one coming back from London recently, but you couldn't you couldn't get on my flight Couldn't get on your flight. It was the hot ticket in town It was the 1120 out of Heathrow. Oh god, there's just no room unless you want to sit in the bathroom You want to sit in the bathroom? Yeah. Because you know how the group chat goes. Someone throws out what's the move tonight. And it turns into 40 messages, three polls, a bunch of reactions. Maybe even, what's that, a doodle? Oh, a doodle. And then zero decisions. So with group hangouts, you and your friends pick an activity. It can be drinks, mini golf, karaoke, motherfucker, whatever sounds like the fun move for you and your friends. Then you can find another group who are looking for the same vibe. No blind date, no forced pairing. Just your people doing something you were already going to do, except now there's a possibility for new connections. And maybe romance. I'm learning about this feature for the first time as well. I know. For a while. You've been using it quite frequently. Of course. With a group chat, there's no pressure on any one person to carry the conversation. You're just planning a night out that happens to include some new faces. Tinder makes that easy to do. Here's what I love about this. Tinder said in the words of Catherine Hudson, "I'm not just one thing." Exactly. Tinder has always been where a connection's, wait, she'll do that. Wait, you missed part of it. Maybe you all become friends, maybe two people hit it off, maybe three people hit it off. Either way, I want to tell people to do that more during sex and dates going, "I'm not sure I could do that. People if I wanted to." Either way, you had a good night with your friends, which was never in question. Tinder has always been where a connection starts. Now it's where you bring your friends along for the ride. Okay. Come on! Try Tinder group hanging out to bring your friends, pick a plan, meet new people. I'm not Tinder today. Of course. I mean, hey. What could go wrong? I mean, it's not the craziest idea. Oh God, you know what? I recently had dinner with someone that he had butt breath and I love, I really, we weren't close enough where I could have told him and I was watching "Dune Part One" on a plane recently. And you weren't Oscar Isaac as that thing that he cracks his back tooth and lets the gas out. Who is that? Who was that? Wow. Yeah. You don't know that "Dune 2" is going to have real world application. This is actually "Dune 1." Oh, even better. "Dune Part One" Oscar Isaac. It really sticks with you. Yeah. Of course it does. Oscar Isaac, perfect man. Yeah. It's going to be tough for me. I couldn't even ride for him. It's like where to begin. Where to begin? Well, you could begin an annihilation. I wouldn't begin there. I'd begin at X-Mahina. Actually, and for that matter, we're going to probably actually start with Lauren Davis. Lauren Davis. That's Lauren Davis. Lauren Davis. I have such an affinity for him because it was a time when me and my godmother, who I never got to come out to, and we named Carmen in the show after her. I say we fully. We? I talked to you about it. I guess. You and your creator. You made my id. But we saw that movie and the last movie I saw with her. And it was a moment where we both agreed he was really handsome. So I almost kind of came out to her because she was like, he's really handsome. And I was like, he's really handsome. Maybe she knew in that moment. Yeah. And she just went. She liked this quietly. But down here, she didn't want to draw attention to it. Oh, yeah. You want to fucking watch your bubble butt. You little fucking homo. Lauren Davis. Thank you. Lauren Davis. Just to amplify or just at least acknowledge. Say thank you. I said, thank you. I said, thank you. Just say thank you. Lauren Davis, Tar, brutalist, to me, all fall in this category of faux biopics. Because to me, I did definitely look up after like, is this a real guy? Was that a real song? Was there anything for brutalist where like, there was an inspiration of one of an architect or a person or was just not from the interviews I've been listening to, which has been a lot. Yeah, of course. It's the movie is so good. But yeah, I think it was like, it was more about, well, I don't want to get, I'll ride for it. I'll ride for it in seven seasons from now. Yeah. For now, I'm just going to talk about it as much as possible. Someone recently brought up that we said we were going to talk about Saltburn in this season. So I wonder. And that's a great plain one too. But it's one of the ones where they go, make sure there's no kids around you because there's going to be some nasty stuff in here. You pervert. It's crazy. Some of the things I've seen on a plane. Yeah. Well, you know, I, I look so but ugly on a plane recently that a guy was next to me watching over compensating and he didn't know even, yeah, the whole time I'm saying you're in cognito. You're going to do this. I love that part. I'm like, he's like, we actually shot that twice. Yeah. Up on a plane is always like really magical. Yeah, I, what I love about the ones you're listening, I had the pleasure, the distinct pleasure of seeing anatomy of a fall for the first time on a plane. Me too. And I think about it all the time and I was eating like a little just chicken cutlet watching that and it was just one of those plane rides that sticks with you. That film blew my mind. I wish I could watch the end for the first time. I know. It's so good. And to get to do that on a plane, I also saw the menu on a plane one time on the Taylor Joy. And I was like, fuck yeah. And she goes, I want a cheeseburger. Yeah. Anything can be anything in Hollywood. Exactly. Let's talk about not overthinking. Oh, good luck with this. This is going to be tricky for me. Well, you know what? It's like, obviously I, I overthink things to, to a degree, right? I do feel that it's maybe holding us back as a culture and socially. Is this overthinking? Now, that's not to say I don't put my foot in my mouth. That's not to say I don't say things that are offensive accidentally that I then think of later. And I, and like, that's going to haunt me for the rest of my life. Of course. And you grab your nipples and twists. I twist them. And that's just part of my process. This is not mean we shouldn't be thoughtful and mindful all the time. I think that everybody over thinks so much because we're, we're just processing so much information all the time. Yeah. So it's hard not because we've almost like seen too much, read too much, heard too much. And it just, we're getting stimulated. Everyone's talking about cortisol. Well, and we're starting to survive. And I'm like, easy, easy Sally. What does that mean? It means I don't know. Apparently if your cortisol spikes from stress, like your face gets puffy, you like your bones hurt. And I'm like, yeah, check, check. I'm feeling all this. But it also could be allergies. So we'll figure it out. It could be a histamine intolerance. I don't know. I will get to the bottom of it. But to me, I, I sent you a tick talk that I really thought was amazing where this girl was talking about overthinking and rumination because I am like, king of that show. Yeah. It's so you potentially was steampunk. Totally. And ruminating, yeah. There was this tick talk where this girl was like, I've been playing this new game and it's really working where I think if I just spent 20 minutes thinking about all the worst possible scenarios, I'll have my mind think of, okay, what if this went like the, in the most perfect, best possible way? Like that was the outcome that happened. And I did it. And oh my god, it was incredible. Really? Really high? No, it wasn't high at all. No, I mean, you felt high. Well, of course. Yeah. Yes, of course, my love. Yeah. It totally rocked my world. I was like, oh my god. Wait. Yeah. That's such a sweet feeling. And like to be able, you can also overthinking a positive way. Totally. So like, I think there's something. You're harnessing it. You can harness it. But yeah, of not, I think of going with your gut. My, the thing I keep thinking if I was asked to have subway take, if I was sitting there on the, on the out training, got a subway take asked me, this is my, this is the mini mic. Of course. I would say, I would say, um, I think nobody believes in anything anymore. And they need like too much information to make decisions. Yes. And it's hurting art, it's hurting relationships. But again, it's hurting art because everyone needs like a full CV and all and 50 other people to co-sign someone. And it's like, or just like believe in somebody. I was saying this the other day to a friend where they were like, oh, you know, like the cast of overcompensating and like talking about it. And I was like, the joy would be that if, like I'm, if somebody's manager called me and they listed all the things they had done, I would just be like, I just genuinely like this is, this is going in one year out the other because I'm still holding this. You have to, and I would say 100% agree. And so agree. But I, I was like, I actually just really don't care. I want to see, um, I can read with them. I want to like meet them. None of that really should matter. And I think all of it matters too much to people. And I think it's limiting really great art being made because I do see a lot of things where I'm like, oh, that's so poorly casted. Like you just thought like this and this, of course, but you never had them meet each other. You never took a risk on somebody new who could have been even better. I just think everybody is overthinking everything and things have to be so undeniable. But in that, we've lost like so much practical magic to practical magic. It's a full circle. Not a full tangent, but sorry, I just think it's ruining things. No, I agree. And I think it, like what you said, we're getting bombarded with so much information and we're struggling to survive the government's like threatening us every turn. And then there's like a lot of, you know, literal wars happening. So I understand that it makes, it puts people in their heads more. I just think everyone's in a while. You should allow yourself to let your freak flag fly, have fun in safe spaces with friends and people you know and trust. And maybe just like let loose a little bit, I don't think we're letting loose. And this is not giving people permission to do things that hurt other people or like put anyone in unsafe situations. I'm not like, oh, don't over think it like drive drunk. That's not what I'm talking about. Well, that's kind of how I'm understanding it, but you and you do that all the time. Right. Like since they're like driving on zero, hey, life is a highway and I'm going to ride it on it long. We could like just have maybe a little more fun with it. Like we only get one shot at this, you know, let's have a little more fun. have a little bit more fun and like there's so much calculation and everything too and I think that's also like the dawn of the internet and just everything being so like curated and stuff too. I'm like, oh God, maybe you just want to do that because it's fun and you want to do it. And that's kind of it. Sometimes you just want to go and drag as your bestie, tuck your balls into your taint and hit it and bushwick. And maybe it's just like not that deep. You just wanted to do it and it's fun. And we didn't, I will say galaxy brain ball is a great example. We didn't overthink it. I said, I want to have a huge party in Brooklyn. Just do it. And I want to dance. Yeah. And we did that. We did that. And I wasn't thinking about like, how is it going to be perceived? Who's going to come? Who's not going to come? All this stuff. I was just like, I want to have fun. Just to it. It's going to be fun. I want to have fun. And in the winter, I think it's harder to motivate to do those fun things that's so cold. And we're nearing, we're approaching, winter is approaching. And so I just hope we're all making space to have fun and not overthink everything. And even goes back to when I did the show recently and that girl said she didn't know what text is on the sky that she always thought was cute. And it's like, obviously, it's a risk you're putting yourself out there. Being vulnerable is not always going to pay off. But it's good to practice it. And so I think just like sending that text that you're nervous about and being like, whatever happens, I have people that love me. I have friends. Everything's going to be okay. It's, it's literally going to be so fine. Everything's going to work out. Blume more planet. Blume more planet. More planets. This honestly, it's like, girl, my stash of cares. I can literally shave it off tomorrow. I'm not going to overthink it. I just, I think also I'm finding that was season two. I think season one felt so precious to me. But was season two. I'm like, fuck it. Little rip. This is so fun. Like, let's try it. I think you just, I think you can find more beautiful things, I think, and not have trying to have control over everything. It can be hard, but not overthinking it. Wow. You always bring some bullshit like that. So this fucking podcast. I'm just like, I'm gonna cerebral. I read, I read for not overthinking. I, I want to do it more. And so I'm going to write for it. And I'm going to put it out in the universe that I need to because I do think it's how great art is made. I think it's how great relationships are built. And it can just be so fun. You know what? Jake Samus said to me, famous twink the other day. Security at Rosalia. Of course. We were going by Chelsea Pearson. Someone was doing trapeze. And he goes, you know what? We should just book it on a day. It's like, he doesn't have to be a birthday or anything. Just do it. And I'm like, God, that's so fun. It's so true. It's so true. Like, I don't know if when that will happen. But I was like, we're going to an event. Like we actually early book tonight. But we know it's always an option. Of course. And just God don't over think it. Just do it. Who cares? Like, honestly, let her say the thing, ask the question, make the plans. Because you can't lose something you never had. And then also Kate Hudson has this thing where she leaves his apartment the first night, I think, and isn't a taxi cab. And she goes, see you later. See you later. See you later. I ride for watching movies on planes. Oh, good. Flying a lot recently. And you start at the exact same time. Exactly. Time. It's a viewing party. Trolls, world tour, three, two, one. Press. Yeah. It's one of the great joys that we have up in the sky. What's that? And then listening to Viola Davis say the Delta ad. The Delta ad. And lately I've been reading on planes, which is kind of a different thing. And it's a little more challenging when the cap is dark. You just sort of find your own way with it. Well, it feels like that's your own plane at that point when you put the little light on. Oh, yeah. You read Hoot. I'm reading Hoot. Why did Hoot come in my head? I don't know. Who wrote Hoot? Do you remember Hoot? I don't remember Hoot. I literally don't. What is that? Oh my god. I remember loving the cover of it. I love Hoot. There was a movie of it. It's a novel by, oh, Carl Hayson. I'm telling you, is that not so the cover of Hoot? And this is what I read on planes. Hoot. God. They can't judge me up there. Just tell us what movies you're up there watching. Actually Idiocas on planes. Someone told me that it was. They watched on a plane. So watch that. So cute. It erstellers on planes a lot. And it's really good. It's under the movies for a long flight. That might be too much. I was almost going to do Lord of the Rings. The two towers are the twin towers. Two towers. Yeah. Okay. Did they have to adjust that for 9/11? I don't think so. We'll look it up. I'm sure it's on. I'm not overthinking it. I'm just vibing out. These are just my thoughts. I'm just going for it. And if you don't like it, you can leave. Here's the thing. If you don't like it, you can leave. What this actually comes full circle with. What? Never underestimate the power of the good fuck. I said that to Owen before three takes and overcompensating. I want to tell a quick story. My friend has a child. She's a mom. She actually has two kids. And her daughter doesn't like her curly hair. So she asked me to send her pictures to me with curly hair. So she could shower. And it's really sweet. You said all these ones of you with perfectly straight hair. You should get it. You should do Carroton. Get a straight hair. Carroton treatment. Oh, that is so sweet. Is it so sweet? I love this family. They just left New York, which is really sad, but I'm going to miss them. Oh, I love them. I love their golden retriever. No, they're the sweetest and it's just beautiful people. It warms my heart. So I sent her a few more picks of me with curly hair. And then she just texted me this. She said, I love the thought that you just do all these glam ones. I sent her this and I said explain what drag is to her. Yeah, I think she's three. And she said, I showed these pictures. Start of me. And she said that Benny's dress is a little too small. Whoa, she kind of fucking spilled. But you know what, I just donated it. And I don't know when this will come out, but there's going to be a, it's for a project I did. I donated it. And the money will go to the Trevor project. But I left the body makeup on it. It was very Jackie Kennedy leaving the blood on the pink suit. It's exactly the same history. And you know what that just made me think of. Not a racing that. Miss a man to live in. Didn't I tell you not to play ball in that dress? Always this from it takes two. Oh, God, I need to rewatch. I'm on Diana. I ain't going to hurt it. That'd be great on the, I wish playing tight a little bit more in the style. It would say that's what the top would say. Wimsy in the style. Oh, the fuck. Say it with me. All of us in the room. Can we never underestimate the power of a good fuck? Let's say it. One, two, three, never underestimate the power of a good fuck. Oh, my accent. Anything buys my road. There you go. Ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride, ride.
