Mock Draft MAYHEM! - Fantasy Football Podcast for 8/21

In this episode of the Fantasy Footballers, hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Tagliere prepare for the upcoming season with a mix of news, analysis, and a unique "mayhem mock draft." They begin by promoting their live Megalash show in Phoenix and the Megalo Bowl, offering fans a chance to engage with the community. The news segment covers preseason performances, including Woody Marks' solid play for the Lions, which raises questions about David Montgomery's workload, and Ricky Pearsall's standout usage with the 49ers. Injury updates include concerns over Sam LaPorta's hip, though Kenneth Walker III's return to practice is a positive sign. The centerpiece is a 12-team half-PPR mock draft where Jason and Mike face three mayhem disruptions each: Andy forces a pick, a "reach" for a player 20 spots above ADP, and an opponent-selected pick. Jason suffers an early forced reach on Malik Nabers but recovers with AJ Brown, Javonte Williams, Breece Hall, Tyler Warren, and Bo Nix. Mike deals with a forced DK Metcalf pick and a reach on Bucky Irving, finishing with Kenneth Walker, Rashee Rice, George Kittle, and Jackson Dart. The draft highlights adaptability, with both hosts defending their rosters and finding silver linings. The episode wraps with previews of upcoming content, including more preseason coverage and the UDK-for-life giveaway, emphasizing the excitement and unpredictability of fantasy football draft season.

For the second time in my life, I am guilty of committing a crime, being horrifically ill-prepared for my fantasy football draft. Because I doubt my legmaids mined in my team finishing three in ten, hurting the ridicule of not just my friends and family, but of every man, woman, and child I've ever encountered. At this season, I find I'm so excited I can barely see still no other thought in my head. I think it's the excitement, only a future hashtag for Clan Champion can feel, a future champ at the start of a long journey, whose conclusion is dispersing a wide range of insults upon my legmaids. Things like your bond pathetic loser, or you must be a major disappointment to your parents, or my personal favorite, you suck, but face. You know it's going to be the toilet ball champion this year, not me, not me. To join me on this journey, hit the www.hotemetraftkit.com. I hope to see you there. Well, yeah, that's like from the megalo show to the megalo bowl. Yeah. If you want to compete with us and with 20,000 plus fantasy football freaks, is that like complimentary? I think it is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Megalo bowl.com. Yeah. That's what you used to see at the circus. The megalo bowl? All the freaks. Oh, well, see now. But now it's I don't think now it's not complicated. Yeah. That's no, no. You're like, Hey, I'm a fantasy football freak. That's fine. You're like, Hey, you're a nerd. That's fine. I mean, that was a weird thing because they like opted. They got paid to be the free. I do believe you would call it exploited, but, but I mean work was also hard to come by. Yeah. I mean, unless they were like, not like they did they have to do it no matter what? Some of them probably. I don't know enough circus lore. And I really wish I hadn't gone down that rabbit hole in particular. Well, I mean, if you trust the greatest showman, everything's super cool. Don't even worry about it. We cannot start that conversation because nobody hates that more than you. We do have a winner for our beach on Robinson giveaway, the sign Jersey Sean Jackson will be in touch sending out that autographed Jersey. That's heading your way. I think that's, that's where I'll cut it off for the start of the show. We got so much to get to. I mean, I don't want to just talk about every, I mean, there's just so much going on. We also had preseason, by the way, but we'll talk about that in the news, I guess. Our quick question of the day. Let's jump in here. Matt writing in. Do you have time limits per pic when you do a live draft? I prefer to take my time and enjoy the day says, Matt, what say you? We and our league of record do not have time limits. There's live, you know, we get together and there's always trading happening nonstop. And so when people are working trades and doing deals, sometimes it gets annoying. I mean, there's certainly moments where it's like, okay, already go. And I know back in the day, I remember when we were doing a, a dynasty start up draft again, no time limit. What we did do is once you hit about two minutes, everyone would just start booing whoever was on the clock until they made their pick, it kind of worked pretty well. But yeah, I mean, you want, these are to have fun. And I think if everybody that's in the league is like cool and trying to do their best, you know, it's, and you're there and you're live like, you're not going to just, yeah, take forever. Yeah, I mean, I think we get a small window every year where we get to draft and we love it. And we might as well savor it. Yep. Sometimes it goes a little long and then, then you look, public pressure, you just start applying it. That's it. News and notes from around the league. All right, did you guys have some takeaways real quick, maybe a thought or two from the two preseason games yesterday? I mean, I had a couple of things that stood out. It's hard to really know, but it's like Woody Marx looked all right, which he looked better than all right. Well, number one, he changed up the number and I was like, what, who's number four Woody? Oh, and then didn't make it seem like he lost weight. Of course, to not be double this is the aesthetics of the, the number. But is he looked good so that maybe that's a like another like red flag for the Dave and Montgomery pick if Woody marks actually gets on the field more than you're anticipating. It's like Mike Washington had another like miraculous run where he was just completely bottled up, but he kept the feet chugging really good at football. Oh, oh, oh, yeah, I don't. Here's what I don't think Clint Kubiak can do. I don't think he can keep Mike Washington running, but Ricky running back for the Raiders. Yeah. I mean, you should know him by now because you got two weeks where the highlights, but Clint Kubiak's not going to keep an electric player off the field just because of some stupid loyal. He doesn't keep an electric player on the field sometimes. So I mean, to me, it's like Mike Washington's probably not a humongous threat to genty, but you should put that guy on the field if he has the potential for those kind of big plays. It's kind of a, you know, a bit of a thunder lightning aspect to it where I think Mike Washington in select plays can go out there and try to give them a, you know, a Travion ask a long run. It's been impressive in the preseason. Real quick on the Woody marks point. We want to make David Montgomery a three down back and some of the logic behind that. Well, some of the logic behind it for son is that while these guys that have success, but aren't high draft capital picks like Woody marks, they just fade away. Well, they don't like the other side of it is this guy performed well for them when he was on the field last year, the coaching staff is the same. Why would they pull them off the field if the, if they think he can be a good compliment, not to mention you bring in Montgomery, but Montgomery's been a committee back for the last several years. [BLANK_AUDIO] you in the pro woody mark side, it's like, well, Montgomery functions very well as a committee back. Let woody marks have some snaps. They do have a different skill set. You know, it could be a threat to kind of like a like the value of David Montgomery. Yeah. How did David Montgomery do in that preseason game? He was zero for zero. Yes. That is to me. It's like, it's good that that woody marks did well. And obviously that in order for it to be a committee and to have anyone encroach on Montgomery, they've got to be playing well. And so a little yellow flag there, but the fact that they didn't play David Montgomery to me says, oh, yeah, that's our dude. Oh, it needs to clear starter. Go out and, but you know, you have to have people play the games. Yeah, but I mean, people rest more than one player as well. You know, you've got teams out there where, you know, all the starting wide receivers are whatever are rested and we, we see the backup. So that's my only counter argument. I would say some things that stuck out to me. Oh, a strip club. Well, I mean, the strip club is, is it's open early, open way, John Stribley. He's rookie wider sear for San Francisco. I mean, so far through two games, he is targeted a whole lot, really, really, the highest like target share and use of a rookie wider sear through two preseason games, like of all time. Yeah. I mean, like any of the greats that we've seen didn't get this much work with the ones. It's really, really nice to see confirmation of buzz in camp. You know, when you hear and you hear and you hear, oh, this guy is showing out, oh, this guy's been the best in camp this, and then, and then you get the chance to see it. And it's like, okay, well, he doesn't show up. It's hard to know was this just fluff because beat reporters have to write about something. But when you hear that drum beat and then all of a sudden the game starts and it's just like, he's highly targeted. He looks great. He's making tough catches. You don't know what the problem is though. Yeah. Before these preseason games, there was like no cover charge to go to the strip club. But now the prices are going. I don't think the price of his ADP is going to be able to rise fast enough late enough. I mean, in some sharp leagues, you'll have someone that will draft him. You're going to have crazy people. Yeah. Yeah. You'll have people that'll grab them, you know, four or five rounds ahead of ADP because that's probably where he's going to be. I think it's going to be a trouble. I especially have to next week. Yeah. I mean, if he has a, like next Wednesday, Kyle would like to remind people of, do you remember Marquets Callaway of the New Orleans Saints? Yes. Who was getting buzzed? A couple big plays in preseason and then bang. This dude's like a seventh round pick. That did definitely happen. And then he was not very good. No. Aronde Gadsden. Oh, no. He's dead. He is dead. I thought you were going to play taps. Yeah. He is. He is a backup. Man, I mean, he is playing late in the preseason. He's the back of do the backup. Aronde Gadsden went from sexy new thing to all busty real quick. It's crazy. I mean, I would take him off your boards. Yeah. And then off the backup board as well. I thought it was interesting for the chargers. Keaton Mitchell played the, like full series. Because I've had the opinion that should Hampton go down to injury that Keaton Mitchell will stay in his Keaton Mitchell wall. And then the Dow would, the Dow would you serve him on the earth. So silky smooth. Yeah. I'm with Mike. I still believe that's how it would go. I don't doubt that. But it was just interesting to see it. It's something I'm paying attention to because I do think that the, the backup there is important. And I've been pretty out on Mitchell, not from a talent or offense with offense of perspective. But just simply, I figure he's going to touch the ball seven or eight times a game. And you're just not going to be a fantasy relevant player if you're doing that. So if they are willing to use him in more than just a gadgety role, I'm, I'm, I'm just paying attention to it. Sam, and they're saying then the, and then the trail ants run. Man, nobody else is paying attention to that. Mike, but you, I bet there's some DFSers out there were paying attention. It was just like a, oh, yeah. Yeah. You're saying when he ran against the 49ers, his old team for, I've saying that he was just like a, oh, it could have been fun, but he wasn't good enough. Sam Laporta dealing with a hip injury. Dan Campbell won't commit to him being available for week one. That sucks. I mean, I, I don't know, like Jason, what does that do to Dan Campbell or Sam Laporta the draft? Oh, it's, it's, it's horrific. Oh, I care very much. I mean, this could be something they talked about how he got hit. And so this could be simply like he got, you know, a stinger, a bone bruise or whatever. But there's also, this is a common complication off of the surgery he had last year. And so it's like, there is a little bit of reason to worry that this is more serious than the head. Don't worry about it. He took a hit. And I'm not saying it is that. But you mean, is he off your draft board? If you do have tomorrow, he is, I'm, I would just Laura Miranda. He's not off my draft board, but he, I would probably, if I'm taking Laporta, there are those late round guys that I like taking a shot on. I might just draft to, um, to make sure I've got some on week one. I'd probably just wait it out. Yeah, I mean, you could wait and then draw an IR and Carl Tate and uniform for Friday's practice with the Seahawks in uniform is great. I mean, he's missed three practices. Is that, is that good news? Yeah, that's like back at practice. Did we finally get some good news in the news section? Oh, was it been pretty bad? Have you been, have you been here? I don't know, man. I'm just reporting it. I'm just cronkying it over here. This is, this is great. We finally get something good. Uh, okay, let's go backwards. Rashad White's hamstring injury. It's keeping them off the field. No, there's positive. Not serious or long term positive, negative. Yeah, I don't know when you get those reports of it's not too bad. It's like, yeah, but he's injured. It's like Jason will be available to golf tomorrow. Is that good? Yeah, no, it's not. Um, that's bad. I mean, I'm happy. Yeah, people behind us won't be there. Clint Sean Jenkins didn't practice wins there. Thursday undisclosed injury, but Todd Monkin said not worried. Something nagging. Nothing big. And then Parker Washington who missed practice this week. Yes, expected to return to practice. Yeah, more goodness. We like it. The Parker Washington hype has reached a fever pitch. I saw somebody yesterday. Their bold prediction was he was the wide receiver one on the year. Okay. Okay, buddy. We're getting, come on now. We're getting a pretty violent. Why do we got to do that? Like, let's, we could be excited for Parker Washington too much. Like too much. You could be really excited for Parker. We're not allowed to be that excited. That's because Jamar chase Puka there. We got JSN. We got Jamar. We got Puka. We got Parker Washington. It's just okay. I mean, that's, that's the spicy. No, listen, Al. Al points out that my, he thought my spot. If first of all, it's a bold prediction show. Second of all, Aaron Rodgers was active when I said the Jets would win the Super Bowl. All right. The one last thing we didn't touch on it, I think, at all right now, but enough on that year. Cool hat. There's a, it is a cool head. That's a pretty cool hat. It's very sick. No, on the Laporta news, the way that I'm pushing Laporta back, a little bit more hesitant to draft him due to the injury. Jameson Williams right now, I just feel like is a screaming value where he's going in draft. I'm pulling the trigger on. I think you're right on Jameson Williams. Did I ever think we'd, oh, I'd have to stop that. Did I ever think we'd get to the point that the three of us would simultaneously be on team Jamo? No, I didn't want a world. No, I didn't. And here we are. And Ken Walker. You're up. You're there. I am there. The argument for Ken Walker. If you're not there, you need to go back to bed and try again, that it's just too compelling to ignore. We'll take a break and then we're going to mock draft. The fantasy footballers mock draft. All right. Let me explain what we're doing today. We've done this a couple of times, handful of times in the past few years. It is a mayhem mock draft. Jason and Mike are going head to head in a 12 team, half PPR mock draft, one quarterback, two running back, two wide receiver, one tight and one flex four bench. But the way this works is I will be not only explaining the picks and telling you what's happening in our mock draft as they make these decisions and think through them. But I'm using your hosting powers. I've got some power over here. I have the ability at a moment's notice. By the way, Jason in the seventh spot, Mike in the 12 spot to inflict a little mayhem on the draft. Each of you will be the victim of three mayhem's over the course of the next. What is it? 12 rounds, 11 rounds. One of the mayhem's, it will be my choice. I will get to make the selection for you. You will think you're going to make a choice and you won't get to. I'll make that selection. Whatever you do don't mayhem my last round pick. Please. Yeah. I might not save it till then. Well, good. Because I mean, that would ruin it. It would ruin all of my plans. I'm unconvincing my kids. The other we have a reach for a player mayhem, which is brand new. It's going to force you to draft a player 20 spots lower in ADP. So you're going to have to reach for a player and make the best of it. And then the last mayhem, I'm going to give the power. I'm going to transfer it from myself into your hands. And you will get to make the pick for your opponent. So you will get to sub. Yeah. Is that subterfews ruin their ruin their roster? Yeah. And you can decide how generous kind or unkind you want to be. Yeah. And we also do give me a cap. Where you are? He'll work a trade to be able to give you maycap. But we also have a bunch of our writers and our the doosters in the draft as well. So all the picks will be made by real people as you guys try to assemble a team in the face of some mayhem. So let's start it off. All right. Gibbs goes number one. Beijan chase Taylor, Pukinakua and J. S. N. Jason, you are on the clock. For me, you will have to palm. Yeah. Before you make us tell you what I'm going to do. And then you will have permission to lock it in. So for me, this is a pretty easy choice. I think at this point, it is a difficult choice between two pretty obvious options. So you could say maybe man. Word there already. I was going to hear. Let me explain. Okay. I thought, listen, I didn't even hear who he was going to pick. I haven't even mentioned to my options. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because I was like, I'm going to let you both make your first pick is what I thought. Okay. So that I can then know what you're trying to do. Then I realized if I use my reach, reach for a player mayhem. Right off the job. I feel I know. I mean, why not do that right now? But my beautiful almond russing brown. You're at the one. This is nasty. What is the, what is the opinion of the dozers? I'm getting a lot getting some nods. I'm getting a lot of nods. I didn't want to be that impatient. That's fine. That's nice. No, this is fine. Okay. So how far do I have to pick twenty fix? This is the. I'm at the seven. So I got to get the 27. So eight or eight is Rishi rice. Okay. All right. I got it. I'm going to take a guy who would be at this. No, it's it's a pretty. He would be at this pick. I know where you're going. If he wasn't coming off of an injury in an ACL and it's not a great pick. I wouldn't take him here. But I'll take Malik neighbors and say, Hey, turns out he's healthy from week one. He's going to be a superstar. Malik neighbors at the 107. I know. That is mayhem. That is. Wow. Right. You have a lot of confidence in neighbors to take him there. Yeah. Who needs Christian McCaffrey or on russing brown. Oh, man. I always look forward to these drafts, mostly so that maybe a screenshot of the draft board can hit socials with no. It will with no context. It will and people are going to freak out. You took neighbors in the first. That's the kids call that engagement for me. It's super smart. Um, Christian McCaffrey goes at the 108. I'll tweet it by saying, you won't believe who I took it. That's right. Um, CMC and James Cook off the board. I'm on russing brown. Does go at 110. I don't know why you didn't take him at 107. And then CD LAM at 111 putting the hitman on the clock. Now Mike has back to back pick. He will be at the turn every single time in this draft. So uh, Mike first round pick. So wide receiver wise, you know, my rankings. It's like Niko. Crystal lobby, Aja Brown. So I'm pretty confident. Uh, how do you feel about Niko right now with the, the Jaden Higgins news with the rumors that Stroud want $70 million a year? Oh, man. I saw, I, when I saw that news that he's looking for $70 million a year. I, I almost had a spit taking. I hadn't drank anything. I mean, it was like, what are you talking about? Because that would be the going. That's not the going rate. That's the best quarterback in the league, right? Which way at this point, that would be the going rate. He is not. Oh, I agree. He's just not in the tier. Like if he was, if he was not the best, but he's like a top five, top six guy. He is no one, including him can possibly think you're in the league. This is a Dubai chocolate. This is the, the Hershey bar. Yeah. You can't pay the same price. Uh, the Texans are in a really bad spot. So are the Panthers because it's like, okay, let's say Stroud hits free agency. He does make that money. He makes that money. Yeah. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. Yeah. I think we got to remember. He does. You got to remember the big picture with Stroud. Like, I mean, Herbert had a horrific playoff. I mean, Stroud had a horrific, so did Herbert. Like Strouds had about two years in a row. So what? I mean, it's been up and down. There have been games. I don't think I don't think he's worth the money. I'm just saying he will get it. But you're just you're with this is with Baker to your hamstrong. Like you, I think he would, but anyways, so Wow. My home's a 63 a year. He wants 70 Stroud. So you're all, man. Just. He's negotiating so he's starting point. Yeah. Okay. So this is, you know, 80 P wise, it actually, I'm at the turn. So if there's guys I want, I have to take them. So the truth is at this first pick, even with everybody who's on the board, I would be selecting Ken Bone Walker. I knew you were going to say, I'm go for it. Excellent. Ken Walker locked in for Mike. So it 80 P wise, early, but I prefer him over Barkley, Gentie, HN Hampton. So it just kind of it, it is what it is at this point. I could see this happening when push comes to shove towards real drafts, people making that same decision that they, they see that there's a lot more security there. Then there is on some of these other, you know, like the HN and Gentie picks where you know you're on a bad team, right? You know, you're on a good team here and he's going to get all the work. And then I would, if the pick is mine, I will be following that up with I like the, at the turn here, I want to try and get the two elite running backs. So I would be drafting. Yeah. Who would you be drafting? Who would you be drafting, Chase Brown? So Mike, you would think I would want to may him. You know, I have no idea what you want to do. But in fact, I am a man. Well, I feel like you said one thing and you did a different thing. Yeah, I mean, that's all I can do here. I'm not even drafting. This is my entire experience. I'm going to give Jason the power here. Oh, I'm going to let Jason select your really early for Matt cap. My goodness. I, and so we'll, we'll decide what Jason wants to do. Met cap. No, I'm not going pick up here. No, that's, that's, that's the joke. No, I, I think it's an easy pick to give you here. It's slightly above ADP. But I've, I've been saying I have no problem taking this player slightly above anything. Okay. Cool. You know, that's it. It sounds like a lower case may him. Yeah. Well, I'm, I mean, it's my choice. I'm going to be good. It is your choice. Best friend. No, I feel like I got to be good. I was going, I was going to give him Brock Bowers here. Oh my gosh. Force him into seeing what it's like to have no wide receiver going into the third round. I think Brock Bowers deserves to go here. Oh, that's a great reason to make him the pick. Yeah. So I, I will, I will give you DK Meccaf. Final answer. Oh, so. Oh, this is really what we're doing. Oh, man, I can't even find him. Hold on. There's a search bar. You just type DK calf. Ah, you really tricked me, Jay. Oh, honestly, I'm going to give you 76 and a half. You're making me take this guy and blame Andy. I was going to give you Brock. Fine. He thought it was a lower case may him. Yeah. I'll be honest. I thought I was going, I was maybe going to use my choice here and give him Jacobs. Because I know he's like out on Jacobs. It would be. There were plenty of guys that I would have been like, dude, that sucks. This is it is still makes sense for a draft looking at your team with Ken Walker and DK Meccaf is, is the first two picks is really a delight. Because I think, you know, one guy you love more than life itself and the other guy is DK Meccaf. All right, whatever. Well, listen, we're ready to draft a kicker in the league. You can't even use him. Just remember, you have an opponent's choice left to use. You'll get. I know, I know, and I guess we're going, we're going low. We, we, uh, we'll just see how you recover. Chase Brown, say, Quan Barclay, action, Gentie and Devon H and off the board, Jason with Malik neighbors in the first round. You are up next. So sitting here is a crazy value on Justin Jefferson. Um, you know, when you're at that like nine spot in the first round, you start going, man, this is where you should be taking Justin Jefferson. I just realized he wasn't drafted. Yeah, but it's all because Meccaf. went in the second. You took him over Jefferson. Anyways, Justin Jefferson, honestly, it might be that might be the right. Well, I'm not taking Justin Jefferson here either. If it is my choice, I would actually be going. So I'm between two players here, Amari and Hampton. I absolutely Brown would have been so awesome. I absolutely love Amari and Hampton pairing him with Malik neighbors. I'd be happy with that. And then if I go wide receiver, I'm actually taking AJ Brown, who I think is, you know, you've got the the sandwich of AJ Brown and Justin Jefferson and Drake London. Those three kind of always go real near each other. And I just look at like, do you want a good quarterback or a bad boy? You want to take it off or a bad offence? And they're all three great players. So here I'm going to, I'm going to take AJ Brown if the choice is mine and start wide receiver, wide receiver. Yeah. Yeah. That's always smart to do on him, a him when you might not get to draft a running back for a while, uh, AJ Brown and Malik neighbors back to back with state. Hampton at the 207, uh, Brock Bowers, Justin Jefferson. And by the way, the mayhem mock draft among many things. It's entertaining. But it's also a lesson in, you know, we've all been there in the draft and there's a panic pick or a mistake or you don't realize something that you're doing. Or guy gets injured in preseason and you lose an entire, you know, DK McAfee, your second round pick, whoever you grabbed, you don't get them this year. So this is a training exercise. This is an opportunity for these guys to try to rebuild the rosters from the mayhem because it happens in your draft. Hampton goes at 207 Bowers. I thought you might take him, Jay. Jefferson Henry London and Josh Jacobs goes at the 212 Colson Lovelland starting off the third round. Above. Tramick bride. I don't mind it at all. I actually, I don't. I'm actually I'm, I'm more on the side now. We're like, I realized that Colson Lovelland there's a vulnerability to drafting them there. Like he is, he is far from a guarantee as much as I love him and think he'll do well. He's far from a guarantee. He has to do so much and he can't. I'm not saying he can't, but he has to do so much to get to what Tramick bride has. I just don't see all right. Tramick bride broke the record for receptions. He didn't. And he had what three or four games worth of extra routes that won't happen again. I mean, but did you see the year before? He was really good too. Oh, yeah, he will be really good. But I'm, I'm saying like I, I think it's, I think Loveland and and McBride are going to be very close at the end of the year. Um, Loveland Allen Jeremiah Love goes in the third Nico Collins. Tyron Williams and Tramick bride Jason. You are back on the clock. Lots of good players here in the middle of the third round. Uh, George Pickens, another great wide receiver. If I wanted to go start my draft with three wide receivers, which is, that can work if this is, you know, a full PPR three wide receiver league. This is not. So I probably want to look at the running back position. You've got guys. Um, I like like Cam Skataboo. Then I'm afraid of very afraid of right now, um, with the new coaching staff and bringing in Naji. Uh, players, I don't like at ADP like Travis H and junior talked about him yesterday. I would be between Breeze Hall and Javonte Williams. Um, I think both players are exciting for opposite reasons. Do you want the great offense or do you want the electric player? I'm going to take the great offense. If it's my pick, I would take Javonte Williams. Yeah, running back. Yeah, go for it. All right. Javonte Williams off the board at 307 neighbors, AJ Brown, Javonte. That brings, uh, what I think is a deal on Crystal Lavay or close to it major deal. Yeah. And then Devonte Smith and George Pickens three straight wide receivers here, man in the third round. And a book goes off the board. Is that who you were targeting, Mike? I just, I, I, I just flipped over to look at my rankings. And it was like holy crap, George in the third. Yeah, but you know, you almost almost almost got there, even with, uh, Metcalf kicking him back to spot. I wasn't out there. Well, they're super stacked. Mike, you are on the clock here. You got the back-to-back picks. Where do you want to go with your third round selection here at 312? So the top of the ADP for running backs, you got Breeze Hall, Skataboo. It's, so those guys are still there, I guess, because it was a full wide receiver run wide receiver receiver. Receiver ice still sitting there. Oh, man. Is it, let me ask the question. At a point, like at the back of the third or even the top of the fourth, receive rice feels like a, a very strong pick. But so then it's Tederough, McMillan, T Higgins, Ladmakonkeys, a flowers. So I guess with this first pick, man, I mean, double check. I'll give you a thought process here. You can do it. If I'm picking, I would, I would take rice. Go ahead and grab him. All right. Rice is a real, he may be the most facts versus feeling situation going on in fantasy football, where, where like Cyrus Allen's getting all the like publicity for being the. Oh, rice is getting publicity for being slow and yeah, looking bad. Yeah. So it's just like the strapped in practice. It's, yeah, it's just not great. Walker, Metcalf, Rajeev, Rice Mike, to start your draft. Yeah. And going in like, I have Walker. So I mean, I'm loaded on the chiefs now with two of my first three picks. But I won't waste your time. Okay. I won't waste your time. But it was going to save that stack with that value. Assuming I didn't have DK Metcalf with my second round pick, it would feel, I feel perfectly fine with it. Well, in this case, I'm going to let you, I'm going to let you reach for a pick. Reach for a pick at the 401. You're, you're just in a tough spot. I, it's like, if I don't make him you now, I got to wait until a long time. Yeah. So you need to pick somebody ADP 57 or later. 57 or 37 later, darn it. Oh my goodness. Yeah. So you have, you have some choices. Yeah, you got some good choices there. Yeah. Oh, so Lutherburne narrowly does not make the cut. But they shall toot. So James and Williams, Adams, Mike Evans are kind of the no toot. Well, I've seen those are the wide receivers. Oh, I got you. No, basal toot is 100% going to be the pick. I was yeah, basal toot is the pick. Okay. Yeah, the the basal toot and sentiment this offseason has been mostly positive with a little bit of curiosity around the committee situation. I think toot himself will be a great player when he's on the field. It is just a matter of does he get the high value touches? Does he catch enough passes? You do have. He has high upside. I don't know if we mentioned it next that liquid Allen got hurt. Uh, yeah, I did. Who like liquid Allen, you know, in the what we've been reported, he got, uh, he's been taking third down, which we've talked about third down is not everything, but I would rather have my running back on the field for three downs for for three opportunities. Is he missing the rest of the training campers? That's what let's let's double check that I just I remembered off the time I had that he did. He got hurt. Uh, but also the reports on toot and just remain. Glory. Very strong about the talent of the player. You know, big and very fast. So I'm just I'm I'm still in on toot and accepting the risk that he does come with. He's not a surefire bet by any means, but he, if he hits, it's going to be incredible. All right. So Mike, you have two chiefs Walker and Rice and then Matt Caffin Tutan through four rounds. Jason, you have neighbors, AJ Brown, Javante Williams, after the Tutan pick, it was Waddle, HN Junior, McConkey, I like that. And then Garrett Wilson, goodness gracious. Yeah, McConkey and Wilson. How are McConkey and Wilson going at four or four or five? Well, the, the running backs were really taken those first couple of rounds. I, but since all these wider receivers just went on my turn, I was between Javante Williams and Breeze Hall. Obviously here having one running back to wider receivers, if the pick was mine, I would select Breeze Hall. What do you think, Mike? Yeah, I'm not. What do you think? I'm just an innocent bystander. Yeah. You know what? I just realized, I just feel like what, what you did to Mike was so disrespectful. Mike's not an innocent bystander anymore. I mean the Matt Caff situation. Look, I'll give the pick to Mike. I'll let Mike make the choice. Okay. I will, I will weigh in. You will weigh in. I will weigh in. It's your choice, Mike. I'm just saying, if there's one player I know from our previous weeks discussion, and I'd call your discussion at the end of the show, I just think Ramondra, he looks like a value here. Ramondra is an excellent, I mean, there's a lot of value running backs. But it's your pick. You find your, you find your executive. You were going to take Breeze Hall, Jay. I was. Yeah. Taken. Okay. That's it. I'll just go ahead. Take him. All right. I took him. I took Breeze Hall. I'm so confused. I feel like you confused because I feel like I was just cursed somehow. I feel like something just happened where I feel like you just injured Breeze Hall that with your mind, what just happened? What just happened, Mike? He took the high road, I guess. I got it. No, he wanted. He's playing my games. No, he's playing my games up until you wanted Breeze Hall. I let you have Breeze Hall. I don't know what's happening. I am confused as well. He's winning. is winning by giving me what I want. I don't like it. - Breeze Hall is off the board. - Okay. - Sort of to me on the outside looking in. Feels like maybe a wasted opportunity. - I think what it was is he was saying, we're not playing these crazy shenanigans. I'm gonna rise above that. - Is it Gil? You want him to sit in the guilt of Metcalf? - No, he wanted Breeze Hall. - All right. We continue. Hey, nice, nice, my hand might. - Probably a good time for an outbreak. - It's a good pick. - Probably a good time for a break. (upbeat music) - Breeze Hall went to Jason before the break, which I mean, really threw you for a loop. - It sure did. - 'Cause you wanted Breeze Hall. Zave Flowers, Quinchon, Judkins, Cam Scout, Abu Temmigmillan, T Higgins, and Jamison Williams round out the fourth. Carnail Tate at the 501 Travion at 502, DJ Moore, 503, Montgomery at 504. And we've got Bucky at 505. There's some names that are just dropping in this draft. - Yes. - Yeah, I mean, interesting. They're, I don't know if you'll let me have this pick. This is the most absurd pick I can remember in any of our mocks. Tyler Warren being in the fifth round is incredible. I've got two running backs, two wide receivers. There's no chance I would ever pass up on Tyler Warren in the fifth. So if I'm allowed to take it, that would be my pick. - All right. Jason, you, yeah, go ahead. - Oh, all right. - Fantastic. Things are working out for me. - I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing with that anyways. Luther Burton goes next, Ramandre Stevenson still on the board but did not go burden, swift, McLaren, Mike Evans and Mike, you are back on the clock. There are two mayams left, one for each of you. - And both are your users choice. - All right. - So let me, let me take a look at what's going on here. ADP, you know, quarterbacks are, it's just the two. So, I mean, I could have Joe Burrow who I think I'm very, I'm very interested in on his upside this year. I, he's sitting here at the turn, running back wise, it's not inspiring and wide receiver wise, there's some guys who I really like. And yeah, at this point, this is where I would be taking Christian Watson. - Yeah, I mean, I would have let you. - Oh, man. - He's mad at you for a beat. - He pulled some weird stuff with that whole let him take the player and waste the mayhem thing. So you get Woody Marx. (laughs) - Okay. - My team's gonna be good in the end. Yours is, we're taking you to the shed, putting you down. - So, you liked what you saw last night. Woody Marx is the pick, Mike, I'm out of mayhem's, you get to make your six o'clock. - Okay, Christian Watson. - Christian Watson is the pick. - Yeah, that's the fun thing about being at the turn of their, you know, I'm not gonna use them back to back and you're out of them. So Christian Watson, you still get him. Jadarian Price is 602. Jalen Warren at the 603. Parker Washington back in action at the 604 and Drake May. - Ooh, had 605. - I would have been very tempted to grab Drake May there. I don't like taking two onesies in the first six rounds, but with AJ Brown and having Drake May fall past his ADP, it would have been tempting. So, I'm actually kind of happy that Drake May was selected. - So, you're not tempted? - Because I am not tempted. Instead, I'm gonna take a player that I feel like I end up with in almost every mock draft because I still believe, I still believe that Roma Dunce is a very good player. And I'm-- - I think of that range, that's a-- - I am alone on planet Earth. - I guess, I guess you're lucky that I let you have that pick. - Oh. - Well, I forgot you still had one. - Yeah, that's okay. - That's okay. - That's a premature selection. - Holy quarterback run. - A Dunce to Jason, and then Jakari Kraskemer, and then three quarterbacks in a row. Daniels, Hertz, Burrow, Devonte Adams, and then Julia takes Ramondra. Oh, he's gone, Jay, darn. Dayjohn's tripling. - Jay, there you go. - Yeah, that's gonna happen. - It is, it is gonna happen. - All right, that is, we're into the seventh round of the draft right now, Jason with neighbors, AJ Brown, Medunze, with Javonte and Bresol as his running backs. Tyler Warren, as his tight end. Mike's got Ken Walker, Basel Tutin, and Woody Marks at running backs. He came back to have Russia Rice and Watson at-- - Okay. - Wide receiver. I'm still trying to figure out what his master plan was, but Pits, Kraft, Harrison, Tyson, and Dobbins off the board in the seventh round, putting Jason on the clock. So I've got only two running backs right now. I would have easily taken JK Dobbins had he gotten to me. He did not-- - Yeah, just be careful when you-- - Yes, I will not select without asking you first. Here we're in a situation where the running backs that are on the board, and I need a running back, John of them Brooks, or Tuba Hubbard, whichever one you prefer there. If you wanna take a shot at Rico Dowdell being the starter, there's Tony Pollard, who is a starter. I really like Jordan Mason, but he's usually able to be had much later. I just don't think the value is there. This is what I was talking about recently of these rounds, running backs, they're just-- They're pushed way higher than they should be. There are still good shots at wide receiver. I would prefer taking, like, take the shot that Parker Washington isn't better than Jamar Chase, and it's actually Brian Thomas Jr. Or McCye Limon. I know he's gonna, you know, he's dealing with Indrick and off to a slow start, similar with Alec Pierce. I just like the upside of some of those guys, so if I were to get the pick, I would take Alec Pierce. He didn't want Alec Pierce, man. You fell right into that. I mean, it didn't matter what he said there, right? I feel like this is the-- Give him Alec Pierce. This is the point in the draft. Don't you freaking dare do that. I can't do that again. That's such a good idea. Yeah, why not? Oh, come on! Mike didn't even get the like-- He didn't even make the pick last time, so I'm gonna have to make it this time, Alec Pierce. All right, okay. That's a great deal, actually. I'm just giving it the guy who worked. That's what I was hoping you do. You just want all the quotes? You're Alec Pierce over BTJ? Yeah. You're Alec Pierce over Josh Downs, which is important. Yeah, I mean, no, I'm really-- I wouldn't have wanted Alec Pierce there. I was trying to get you to-- I probably would have given you Josh Downs about three rounds ahead of schedule. That probably would have been my pick. And Mike's idea was better. He's kind of redeemed himself. So Mike, I'm not gonna use any more Mayhem's on you. That was really nice. That was a really good job. You did. Alec Pierce off the board at 707, BTJ, Michael Wilson, Jonathan Brooks, Rico Dowdell. And Mike, you get to-- You got five picks to kind of piece things back together. There will be no piecing together. Out domestic way. Rico would have been a-- Oh, I thought you would have thought about that. I would have. That would have been an instant-- move him to the top of the list. But going with DK Metcalfe and Rico Dowdell, I'm not sure I would build my team that way. Building a team with two completely broken picks is not the easiest thing in the world. Metcalfe could be OK. I guess you will have to take a-- What are you talking about? You have to take a tight end in a quarter. What are you talking about? It is about where Metcalfe probably went last year, right? Yeah. And he's not gonna be OK. It's not-- You're not wrong just early. I mean, something like that is that there-- I saw the DK Metcalfe new press pictures. Right, the new-- Oh, with the new-- He's going with the Death Star with the really big eyes. Is that what that is? That was a Death Star. How many put Adam Gaseon? Some, somewhere. [LAUGHS] That's so tense. That's just what it looked like. I don't like Adam Gaseon. Adam Gaseon, yeah, I remember that. I understand. All right, a tight end wise-- I'm picking up what you're putting down. Tight end wise. Oh, man. Anybody you love at tight end right now? George is there. I wondered. I don't even know what to do with this build here of it's just disgusting. It's not realistic that you run into a Metcalfe situation and then-- No, well, maybe-- But not with not comboing that with Woody Marks. I'm going to take Jordan Mason just so I know that I have at least one more running back. And then-- I mean, this team has to hit on a onesie position, so we're just going to take George. That's a good point. If you have something go a little sideways from your skill position players-- Yeah. --getting an advantage at tight end makes sense. La Porta goes next. Dac in the eighth here. Jason's almost back on the clock, but Harold Fanon does go. And R.J. Harvey, who-- Look, the sentiment might not be great for R.J. Harvey, but we need to be realistic with the fact he's going to be utilized. He's on an offense that we like Sean Payton's potential. And Harvey late is fine. Yeah, I'm not fine. I just have a little faith that it's going to actually work out. He seems like if we had to do a. quick question of like players that have like an RB one week, I don't know where or like it like Oh, yeah, number one overall in week one. It's like RG Harvey's at the top of the end of it and on like eight touches. Yeah, it's like two receiving touchdowns and a long play and all of a sudden everyone's talking about RG Harvey and week one. Yeah, so I'm here on the clock. I've still only got two running backs. I'm in the eighth round. I need to look at that position. I'm between. Oh my god. Two. Yeah. Yeah. At least you got your guy and Breeze Hall. Yeah. I mean, Javonte and Breeze aren't a bad one, two punch, but I have very little depth. And so who I want to take here is Blake Corm. I think he is a league winning upside type of pick. I know I've been Mr. Kyron Williams. I still am. I think Kyron is a great pick. He's going to be fine for fantasy. That does not mean that does not mean that that Blake Corm is a bad pick. He's a good player. If he does get the opportunity, I'm wrong. Then he's a flex with benefits, but should something happen injury wise to Kyron. Corm will be a league winner. But I feel like as my running back three, I have to have someone more guaranteed for touches. So I'm wondering about Kenny Gainwell. But after all that talk, I'm going to I'm going to pull the trigger trigger on Corm. All right. Corm. Godwin, Sutton, lemon, three white outs in a row. How's we circle back around to the ninth? I thought about Godwin, but then my team is I'm just scraping. You went for the one. Yeah, you're your team. I don't it's not good. I don't really know what you're thinking. To be honest, through most of this draft, Mike, I don't feel like this is what your teams normally look like. No, there was two two picks in particular that you just kind of brainwin. Not so much here. Not so much here, but right right there. Here, I just about the second fourth. Tony Pollard, Jubel, Hubbard, Caleb Williams, Quentin, Johnston and Concepcion off the board. As we circle back around, we're heading towards the end of the draft. Jacobi Myers and Cybers Allen going in the ninth. Nice to see that next to Keenan Allen. Jason, you're back on the clock. We few picks left here. The last time that I was between two running backs, I got both. And I'm going to do it again. I'm going to grab Gainwell to go with Corum. So now with Javante Williams, Breeze Hall, Blake Corum and Kenny Gainwell, I feel a better feel fine with my running backs. There was a part of this draft. I almost gave you Justin Herbert, Jason, as your quarterback. I probably that was a thought there with the Pierce Pick. I don't feel like Herbert has been drafted by any of us in any draft at all. You know, it's funny. I am a Herbert Apologist. I love him. I love the offense. I find that I'm putting my chips more on Hampton and the running game and the defense versus Herbert. But he's a good quarterback that is I think going to be playing for a good offense. Well, I mean, they're close to one of the highest, you know, ABC title favorite teams right now. So if things go right, if that season does come together, I mean, I know a lot of Mike, his thoughts this year is about Cincinnati doing special things because it comes together. You stay healthy. It feels like a similar narrative for Los Angeles. Tyler Algier and Trevor Lawrence, Mike, you got three picks left. One's got to be a quarterback. Kitto was your last pick. So I'm going to take I guess it's not for sure volume, but it feels like it of a player of this caliber who over a thousand yards off of a torn ACL goes to what should be a strong wide offensive situation. I'm going to go with Stefan digs. And then I am. So I got two picks left. I do need a quarterback. I am scanning through the draft. It appears that you can stack your chiefs. I could. But so Jason's the only team without a quarterback. And I know how Jason feels about Jackson Dart. And I'm sure you would have taken him. So I'm going to take him and I have neighbors. That is praying for the neighbors. Darts like I said to to recover anything from this team. I need an upside player. And you made the the bear case for Jackson Dart. I don't you can take 10th round Jackson. I don't disagree that there's a rip that there is a bear case, but there is a true bull case to be made for him. So I'm going to take him there. Well, that's those are two good picks, actually, not that a Stefan digs and Metcalf combo counts as a second rounder, but it's better than nothing. Chris Rodriguez, Caleb Black, Aaron Jones, my non guy off the board. Jason has a quarterback that he needs to take either here in the 10th or in the 11th. And he's back on the clock after the gain well, quorum selections. Do we remember? Do you remember? Do we remember a time Kyle maybe look this up? Where are you songs? Where a non injured NFL draft first round wide receiver was undrafted in every single like ADP just completely undrafted. I wouldn't even consider thinking about drafting on my Cooper junior like ever. And it's like for good reason. Yeah, first round pick. That's it. Well, I mean, you might be tempted. I will with Gino. I will take a first round wide receiver from the previous year. I'll draft Matthew Golden here. Yes. That's that's the right spot. Yep. That's and then a guy I'm just in love with right now. Isaiah likely at 1007 Travis Hunter at 1008 getting drafted, even though no defensive players in this draft. But Papa Josh did take him. Don't you know something we don't Papa Josh? No. Okay. He is a talented wide receiver. But I did see some stuff about him. Him and Brian Thomas junior like like going back and forth on the reps. And that was like I bet for BTJ. Good for Travis Hunter. Kin Kay Mitchell. That would be key. It's good for wide receiver number one overall park or Washington. Michael Pittman tank bigs, B Pat Bryant, Dylan Samson, Malik Washington or rather Mike Washington. That was not Malik. Don Tavy and Wicks sneaky great pick by the Eagles fan there. And then Jonah Coleman and Marsh on Lloyd Jason, your final pick is a quarterback. It is a quarterback. I just brought him up as a value. It's insane that he's basically undrafted and single quarterback leagues the quarterback six last year. The quarterback seven is rookie. Your ads, Jalen Waddle. I'll take bow nicks. Boone first round wide receiver Omar Cooper junior is with the second team offense confirming what we've seen in camp that Isaiah Williams has leapfrog to him as the wide receiver three. That was about a week ago. Yeah. Scott had Boston strange Malik Washington this time. Oh, no, it isn't. Oh, yes, it is. It is. And honestly, tank bigs being Malik Washington were kind of at the top of my Q of so I'll just go the other direction of let's paint the picture. Funny, we were just talking about this wide receiver at lunch guys of like he's good. He's just he's a good player. But things haven't worked out for Jordan Addison and maybe maybe Kyler Murray. He's a he's a really good player. Yeah, he's a really good work. We're going to take talent. We're going to take situation and hope that the quarterback. All right, your last task is to read back your roster, but the I will not be the requirement is that you don't you're not allowed to mention any of the mayhem. You got to you got to make the case for your full roster and you got to do it right now, Jason. Sure. I took a healthy Malik neighbors in round one to go with AJ Brown, Roma Dunes, a Alec Pierce, and Matthew Golden, my running backs, Javante Williams, Breeze Hall, Blake Corm and Kenny Gainwell. I've got my onesies of bow nicks and Tyler Warren. And I'm pretty happy with my team. Yeah, because you want to break you want to brace and then you got brace. Yeah, and I wanted to Alec Pierce. And I got Mike, uh, what were your? What's your story? We, uh, we got Ken anyway. We got cable walker at the top with the second round pick. I of course took DK Metcalf. Look, it's one last ride with Aaron Rogers. Right. Last time we saw Mike McCarthy in charge of an offense. We saw some pretty good stuff. Oh, yeah, from from CD Liam. One last one last ride. Uh, Rishi Rice, Bayshal Tutan, Woody Marks. Look, I'm, I'm pretty much OUT on on David Montgomery's and Woody Marks looks good in preseason. So why not? Why not? Why not get the, uh, the young explosive, the arbitrage pick that will certainly use Serp David Montgomery in his new contract. Yes. Uh, Christian Watson. I love that pick in the six round A. And by the way, if you didn't take marks in the fifth Watson, wouldn't have been such a deal in the six. That is a good point. You made it even better for me. Now you can feel better about. I went up to the register and I just marked it down a couple of sessions. I hope, uh, Jordan Mason, George Kittle, which, hey, all signs point to him having a real shot playing in week one. Uh, but it would, which that's good enough for me to be a difference maker for you're talking for the season Stefan Diggs gets some volume Jackson, Dart, maybe a top five potential quarterback and then Jordan Addison, because everyone needs a player that they can drop after week one to go pick up the new waiver wire hotness or another tight end maybe for your, yeah, or that. Well, Kittle would just go into my IR. That's true. If you go ton, just make basketball or something like that or juanson, juanson himself. Um, there you go. I would say that that fit the mayhem bill. Yeah. For one of us. You were about to give them Brock Mowers. I don't know. I was. You talked to me out of it. That would have been the ultimate mayhem on me. It's just you guys just give each other great picks on the draft and the show. But we got a lot going on. We got some more preseason football tonight and through the weekend. So I'm sure there will be simultaneously more excitement for certain players and more injuries for certain players. So we're going to recap all of that stuff on Monday. We're also doing the Udk for Life giveaway on Monday. I am correct about that. That is the date. That is correct. Yeah, that's coming up. So it's worth saying like right now anybody that has the Udk before Monday's live stream which will be I think at four Pacific, maybe three Pacific. It's four Pacific. It's three Pacific. It is three Pacific yeah. We will be giving at the end of that live stream will give away a Udk for life. If you've bought the Udk anytime between February when we pre-ordered or let pre-orders happen all the way through now, you'll be able to pick that up and be entered to win. And there you go. Big shows next week. My guys are coming next week. And by the way, the mock draft tool is now available on the web for the Udk as well. That's all right. Have a good week everyone. Summary:

" They begin by promoting their live Megalash show in Phoenix and the Megalo Bowl, offering fans a chance to engage with the community.

FAQs

It's a mock draft where Jason and Mike draft against each other, and host Andy inflicts 'mayhem' rules, like forcing them to reach for players or making picks for them, to test their adaptability.

There are three types: Andy makes a selection for the drafter, a reach for a player 20 spots lower in ADP, and the drafter gets to pick a player for their opponent.

He was forced to reach for a player due to a mayhem rule, and he chose Nabers, betting on his health and potential to be a superstar from week one.

Despite early mayhem picks like DK Metcalf and Woody Marks, Mike built a team with Ken Walker, Rishi Rice, and Christian Watson, but he noted it wasn't his typical roster.

Jason expressed concern, noting it could be a complication from his previous surgery, and suggested drafting a late-round tight end as insurance if taking LaPorta.

It's a live bonus episode of the Fantasy Footballers Podcast in Phoenix, featuring bold predictions and giveaways, with tickets available at ballerslive.com.
