Mike Lawler | Congressman, New York District 17 | 03-26-26

The transcription is an emotional commentary from a political figure, Congressman Mike Lawler, reacting to the murder of an 18-year-old female college student from his district in Chicago. He asserts the alleged perpetrator is an illegal immigrant who entered the U.S. under President Biden's "catch and release" policy, was arrested for shoplifting in Chicago, but was released due to local sanctuary and criminal justice policies before committing the murder. The speaker vehemently blames Democratic leaders and policies for the tragedy, citing their support for sanctuary cities, opposition to strict immigration enforcement, and a government shutdown that has affected the Department of Homeland Security. He condemns statements from officials suggesting the victim was in the "wrong place at the wrong time" and a college newspaper's apology for using the term "illegal alien," arguing these responses dehumanize the victim. The commentary frames the incident as a direct consequence of failed immigration and criminal justice policies, advocating for stricter enforcement and cooperation between local and federal authorities.

might luller the king of rockland county president trump calls him mister salt mikey good morning buddy how are you i'm doing well said how are you i'm great this story in chicago though is really disturbing rewatching the mayor brand and johnson who may be every bit as bad as mom dine although i don't think he is but he's right there and the governor jb pritzker who's right there with hokal you know me between illinois new york in california we've got six real losers losers bans and newsroom as well but um. watching them speak after an eighteen year old girl was tragically murdered shot in the back in cold blood a college student has to scare the halladia and for you mikey gets even worse because she's got ties to your district yet uh. sharding warmen uh. the eighteen year old girl uh. born raised in yorktown uh. heights in my district same community that a_o_c_ is from uh. and here's the juxtaposition a_o_c_ uh. keeping the government shut down because she doesn't want our immigration laws in forced and this poor young girl eighteen years old brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant that a_o_c_ chuck shumer hakeem jeffries and every democrat is more than happy to keep in our country i can't stress this enough if you look at what is happening right now the democrats have effectively shut down the department of homeland security the department that is test with ensuring that illegal immigrants do not come into our country the department that is tasked with trying to deport criminal aliens out of our country they have shut them down because they do not want our immigration laws enforced and this criminal this illegal immigrant was a madina came into our country in twenty twenty three he was detained at the border he was released under joe biden's catch and release policy he was released into the united states went to chicago committed a crime he was arrested for shoplifting and under chicago and elin ways lacks criminal justice policies just like here in new york he was released back out onto the street and he brutally murdered this eighteen year old girl who had her entire life ahead of her it is absolutely shameful when you hear the way that politicians in chicago and elin way are talking about this a city council woman saying that this poor young girl was in the wrong place at the wrong time are you fucking kidding me the wrong place at the wrong time yes all the men uh. you know who is in the wrong place the illegal illegal immigrant was in the wrong place he shouldn't have been in this country and so to listen to these people jade jb pritzker can't even be bothered to talk about this this poor young girl the team jeffries was asked point blank should this illegal immigrant be deported and what was his response all i need to look into it more fuck you all look into it more you gotta be kidding me these people truck shumer truck shumer is the single biggest asshole in america he needs to leave elected office immediately this guy has been in elected office for over fifty years he has taken every position under the sun on every issue that is how broken he is how corrupt he is a complete political hack that has been allowed to stay in elected office for too long he shut down the government because he's so petrified of aoc in his far left base he did it in october he's done it again do you know in this fiscal year said think about this in this fiscal year which starts october first the department of homeland security has been shut down for more than half the time these folks are an embarrassment to our country to allow this to happen because they don't want to have an honest debate you want to have an honest debate about immigration enforcement you want to talk about federal judicial warrants then let's talk about the detainer request that the democrats refused to honor let's talk about sanctuary city policies wanted to negotiate and let's negotiate let's have a real honest negotiation the administration has offered them numerous concessions including the fact that christian home was fired and yet they still can't take the win if you even view it that way but they can't even take a yes for an answer they keep moving the goal post and they are putting innocent people in harm's way what happened in Minneapolis was entirely avoidable those protesters never should have been in contact with ice agents they never should have been anywhere near the immigration enforcement actions that were taking place why were they so close to them because the Minneapolis police department was prevented from doing their job by jacob fray and tim walls they were not allowed to cooperate on things like crowd control and traffic control that's why you have that situation in Minneapolis that's why it's spiral data control the reason ice needed to surge in Minneapolis and remove over 4,000 criminals off the street because feckless piece of shit politicians like tim walls refused to allow law enforcement to do their jobs and cooperate well a very emotional michael wall or here you're exactly right and you could have made the argument clearly very emotional and you're right you could have made the argument that when a good and Alex pretty when the wrong place at the wrong time that's why they're dead but not this young girl yesterday it's gonna get worse mike you're already very upset obviously and i love you for that but did you see the college newspaper she went to loyola the name of the paper is called the loyola phoenix in chicago they initially when she was murdered put up the headline that one of the very own was murdered by an illegal alien do you know that yesterday they retracted and apologized for that saying basically what mumbani said about me calling somebody illegal is dehumanizing they apologize to the murder that is where our country is and that's terrifying what what is dehumanizing is that an 18 year old girl was brutally executed when she was out with her friends trying to see the northern lights that's what's dehumanizing what's dehumanizing is that a family is left devastated because their daughter is never coming home that's what's dehumanizing and i think it is unconscionable that at at at at a moment in time where you have innocent americans being murdered in the streets this is why we passed the lake and riley act and you have democrats like angie craig apologizing that she voted for it apologizing that she voted for the lake and riley act why because it would actually enforce our immigration laws and it would say that you have to cooperate if you arrest somebody for an offense like shoplifting so this law had been in effect back in twenty twenty three the lake and riley act that we passed in twenty twenty five Jose Medina would have been turned over to ice as he should have been this is the fundamental problem there's no respect for the rule of law there's no respect for the laws that are on the books my wife is an immigrant i am for immigration in our country we need immigrants in our country but there has to be a legal process by which people come into this country and if you come into this country illegally and you break the laws while here the by the by you should be gone got the board stop and the story come on isn't that complicated no understand no and when we were and when you look at jurisdictions like new york that have the most disastrous criminal justice policies cashless bail raise the age do you understand what's happening here you have under raise the age sixteen and seventeen year old kids that are being treated in family court rather than criminal court and you know what the problem is the gangs understand that and they get these kids involved because they know they're going to get a slap on the wrist they give them guns they use guns in the commission of a crime you know i hear democrats always talk about how we need to have stricter gun laws they don't fucking enforce the gun laws we have on the criminals they go after lawful gun owners no problem criminals who use guns in the commission of a crime no no we got to release them back out onto the street give me a break well you're right again i know i know i said and yeah i'm not blagoi of it the former governor comes out and says and and this needs to be investigated he says that potentially this is tied to a gang initiation yeah right right that wouldn't shock me no not at all right right because this is precisely what is happening on our streets in New York city right again i would tell you go kill somebody some innocent bystander the guy did it and blagoi was a guy that went to federal prison ironically years ago, but he actually is a common sense guy in Illinois. And I believe it may have been just that a gang initiation. I could tell you know, I was at the airport in, I got about three minutes here, Mike and Fort Lauderdale Thursday, Kennedy Airport on Thursday, MacArthur Airport on Long Island on Tuesday. Thank God from my family, we experienced no delays, no big lines, none of it. I shook the hand of every TSA worker all over every airport. Thank them like a what a cop and a service member for doing what they're doing, which is basically working for free, but I haven't heard anything from anybody about this DHS shutdown ending anytime soon. You're in Congress. You guys about to go back on vacation for Easter. Can you tell me what the hell is going on? We're going to vote again today to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security in the house. And I guarantee you every single New York Democrat will vote now. I know that but explain this to me, okay? Because I know how hard you work and I love you. And I actually think you could be president one day. That's how much you impressed me. I swear to God, I'm not patronizing you, but you guys, not you, but you have a lot of nerve. You're taking off two weeks. Easter is one day. The country is shut down. You got this DHS strike. We're putting people in peril. Forget about the long lines. How are you guys taking off two weeks Easter is one day? We will absolutely come back, but here's the issue. We can pass it through the house. We're going to pass it through the house. Every Republican's going to vote for it. The issue is the Senate. And that falls squarely on Chuck Schumer, who continually moves the goalpost. There has been a deal on the table. The things that he's arguing about at this moment are federal warrants and masking. Well, the masking is tied specifically to the doxing and putting these ICE agents in jeopardy and every single damn Democrat has been calling for protests against ICE for months. Yep. So what do you think is going to happen when people start targeting ICE agents? Which by the way, so we saw some of that. These guys are trying to help the trying to help with the airports, these ICE agents. So of course, they're not wearing masks at the airports. And already we've seen love mouth New Yorkers hassle these people already. But again, it's encouraged by people like Chuck Schumer. And then you look at the federal warrants. As I said, the problem with only requiring federal warrants, that's only tied to federal crimes. Most of the crimes committed by illegal immigrants in this country are under state law. And states like New York with their sanctuary jurisdictions refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement when it comes to state crimes. They will not turn them over. They will not honor the detainer. So as I said, if Chuck Schumer wants to have an honest negotiation, if he wants to sincerely deal with this issue of immigration enforcement, then he would actually come out against sanctuary jurisdictions. And he would acknowledge the fact that local law enforcement should be allowed to cooperate with federal immigration officials and turn over criminals. This girl would still be alive. If in Illinois and Chicago, they cooperated and turned over the criminal illegal immigrant to federal authorities. But because of their sanctuary policies, because of their open border policies, because Joe Biden had a policy of catch and release, catch them at the border and release them into the country. Donald Trump has stopped that. We've had 10 straight months of net zero illegal border entry into the country, because we are no longer releasing illegal immigrants into the United States of America. That girl should still be alive. Her family should be able to see her. It is shameful. It is disgraceful. And I am pissed off because this never should have happened. >> Well, God bless you, my touch of heck, I'm an appearance that was interesting. Folks know that's authentic. Mike Lawler. He doesn't act. He didn't get angry because the girls from his district. That's Mike. Mike, I thought you were spectacular today. And my heart goes out to you guys in Rockland County. This girl, of course, and her family. Thank you so much for doing this today. That was about as good as anybody can be. Thank you so much. >> Thanks, sir. >> God bless you, Mikey. Mike Lawler right there, the King of Rockland County, Mr. Assault, a tremendous congressman, really tremendous, and as you can hear, an even better human being. >> See you next time for a new episode so you never have to wonder. >> What the heck is going on here?
