Midwestern Dirtbag w/ Prof!

In this episode of "Are You Garbage?", hosts Kevin Ryan and H. Foley welcome rapper Prof for a candid conversation about his life, from a chaotic Minneapolis childhood to his current success. Prof grew up in Powderhorn, a tough neighborhood, in a blended family of 12 people living in a triplex. His father, a preacher with undiagnosed bipolar disorder, was violent and eventually burned down his own house during a mental health episode, disappearing for a long time. Prof recounts his wild youth, including briefly joining the Crips, carrying a butterfly knife, witnessing a drive-by at age 8 (which led to a news interview), and throwing a freshman over a fence during a school pep rally, resulting in a lawsuit threat. He started working as a janitor at 15 and later sold drugs while building his music career, which began with low-paying shows and free CD giveaways. Prof's breakthrough came around COVID, leading to a top-selling independent album, "Good Time Boy," and major performances like Red Rocks. Despite his success, he remains financially cautious, owning a cabin, boat, and Rivian, but avoiding flashy purchases. The hosts appreciate his dirtbag stories and responsible come-up, ultimately declaring him "100% garbage" in a celebratory, affectionate manner.

Look at you. He just sees us up real quick. Hey, everybody. Hi. Thanks for coming, bro. Hello. Start with the gold chain. What are we looking at? 14 karat? Goddamn, there's a bug on the table. That's an AYG first. Let's check it out. Let's check it out. I lost all my chains. How do you do that? On a road. Remember that? They were in a bag or something? Yeah. What city was that? Somewhere in Canada. Do you think they were stolen? You got robbed in Canada? No. No, I left them somewhere, man. I'm talking like every single one. This is- That's a modest chain. Like, you know, it's not a- Yeah, it's chill. It's chill. I don't know. 18, maybe? Yeah, I can't really read. Woo-wee. It's nicer than anything I got. Now, do you have a guy that does those for you? Like all the guys do? No, no. I ain't got one. Okay. I- Oh, vast majority of this, I'm so lucky. Like, this is like my only real chain I've ever had. Really? Yeah, yeah. All the other stuff was fake? Yeah. Nice. Really? This guy built for the show. The only real shit I ever had was like given to me by fans and drug dealer fans and shit like that. There you go. So like, that's- Man, I looked into it like, oh, yeah, man, you know what? I should buy a chain. And that shit's a thousand, you know- Yeah, it's true. 5,000. This would be like 5,000, $10,000 or some shit, right? I don't know. That's what they call- Just giving it to you by drug dealer. But so- The first time I looked into a gold chain, I was like, oh, shit, yeah, I'm just going to do fake shit forever. There you go. Yeah. I respect that. I respect that, yeah. I think T-Pain said the same thing. He's like, I'm not- If you see me around, I'm not wearing- I'm not walking around with like a $70,000 necklace on. That's stupid. Even my boy, Anthony Edwards, was like, yeah, this is fake, you know, whatever. Go fake. I'm in. Well, I would get my chain snatched if I would jump into the crowd and shit. I've lost a couple. And sometimes when they don't snatch, it's like even worse. It hurts even worse. Choking the shit out of you. You know, you're like, yeah, so when I'm crowd surfing, so I was like, all right, so I'm never going to wear like real shit on stage again. And then even when I do jump in, I'm taking off my fake chain. Taking out your hoops and jumping in? That's fucked up. Your own fans steal your fucking shit. You never know who's out there, man. It could be haters out there. It could be the ops, dog. Yeah. Bastards. Damn. Give us the backstory. Minneapolis. The origin story. Is that right? Yeah, Minneapolis. Born and raised. Yeah, born and raised on the south side of Minneapolis in Powderhorn. What's that like? What neighborhood-wise? Oh, shit. Powderhorn was in the 80s and 90s. It's got a tough name. I'll give you that. Powderhorn, Minneapolis. Yeah. Powderhorn was murder capital. Minneapolis was like murder capital of the country in the 90s. Really? Yeah, the highest per capita murder rate in the 90s. And I was on that block. Jesus Christ. What'd your mom and dad do? My mom was a teacher. Okay. My dad was like. Welcome to the show, kid. I don't know what's coming out. My dad was. But I'm interested. My dad was crazy. You know, he's dead now, but he was. Yeah, I don't know. This could be like a four-hour podcast. He divorced my mom at two. Or my mom divorced him. Okay, right. When you were two. Yeah, when I was two. Yeah, when they were two. Did I say that? Guy moves quick. Yeah, no. Looking back, he was definitely undiagnosed, bipolar, extremely violent, high, low, everything. But he was like a preacher. Oh, okay. Wow. And then he was also like a nurse. Strange. Yeah. Yeah, so that's what they did. She was a teacher, and he was kind of skipping around doing all types of weird shit. Any brothers or sisters, or just you? Yeah, we got a lot of. So my mom married this other guy. Said they were pets. Yeah. We had a lot of them. When people ask me, like, how many brothers and sisters do you have? I'm like, I don't know, man. Like six or seven or eight. Jesus. That's what I say. Six or seven or eight. Because she married another family, so we were a blended family. Gotcha. So at two, you know, I call them like my stepsisters and brothers, but like, motherfucker, like, I've known them since your whole life. I don't remember meeting them or anything like that. Yeah. Yeah, so big blended family over there, and that was fucking crazy. What did you guys live in? A house? Apartment? Well, when they first met, my mom had one house. We were right on Lindale. My mom had one house, and he had another. We were right next door. No way. They had a good thing going like that. I don't know how they made that happen, but. Really? Yeah. They were neighbors? No. Were they. They, like, bought houses together. And this was crazy, because my mom was in poverty. You know what I'm saying? Like, this was some early 90s shit. Ain't no way a motherfucker would do that now. Like, she was going to community college. She had four. Single mother, four kids. Uh-huh. Going to community college, working odd jobs to become a teacher. And, like, she got a mortgage on a house or something. I'm like, I got to ask her that. Yeah, that shit doesn't. There ain't no way you could do that now. No. That would never happen. Damn. So when they started dating, he moved his family in next door. That's going to go. There you go. Yeah. No, I think they moved in together. I think they both, like. They ended up there. Yeah. Okay. Okay, so they were dating, living kind of cohabiting, but separate houses. And then we all moved in together. Uh-huh. Which house? His or hers? I think he bought it. Nice. And it wasn't a house. It was a triplex. And it was in a good neighborhood. So a lot of motherfuckers, like, when I'm going to school, if I say I had a. He was raised in. What neighborhood was that? Linden Hill. Linden Hills. And I'm like, yeah, that was a really good neighborhood. But we were, like, we were in a triplex with, like, one level with, like, 12 people. What's a triplex exactly? Like a three. A duplex, triplex. Three units in a building. Ah, gotcha. In a house. So it was a big house with three floors. And, you know, it was cool. I lived with my stepbrother, my brother, and, you know, it wasn't. It was a nice neighborhood, but it was fucking. Yeah. I lived in a room with him, and then he was four years older than me, and they, you know, so they wanted to put a wall up between our room. Because, you know, he's old. I was the youngest of the whole family. I was wildin'. Sure. It's four-year-old wild. You're doing my thing. Yeah, so, of course, you know, but they put up the wall, and the fucking heat was only on his side. What? So I live in Minnesota in the wintertime. In the wintertime, I have a memory, a verifiable memory. I'm sleeping, and I had a 40-ounce bottle that was filled up with oil and water as a. We couldn't afford a. Lava lamp? A lava lamp. That's awesome. So I'll just shake that shit and put it down. You're getting a salad dressing next to the bed. Yeah, and that shit shattered and broke in the middle of the night because it was below 32 degrees. Jesus Christ. He's over there all cozy. I'm over there sleeping below 30. This is fucking. That's crazy. I'm camping. So there was 12 of yous in there? No, I don't. I mean, should I. I'll go through. Rod, my stepdad, my mom, Jenny. Stepdad Rod's great. Yeah, Rodney. It's a great stepdad. It's a great name. Stepdad Rodney. Jenny. Um, Christy, Charity, Sarah, Michaela, Joey, me, and then I have a half-sister too, so. Man, yeah. Yeah, and so, um, that was, uh, all, you know, living on top of each other and shit. What'd Rod do? What'd Rod do? Yeah. Shit, uh, he was a. You heard me, motherfucker. He was a preacher. What'd Rod do? Rodney was a, uh. No, he doesn't like Rodney. I call him that just to fuck with him. But, uh, he was a behavior specialist in the hood in a school. So, like, he dealt with the, you know. So, he saw me a couple times. Really? Yeah. Come across the radar. He's like, ah, shit, here, you know. That's fantastic. You get sent to your stepdad's. What did, uh, if any, what did a vacation look like with that family? Nothing. No. Okay. No vacation. They got married. They were with each other for a long time. Um, they got married in Florida. So, that was, like, our first vacation together. Whole family went. Yeah, everybody went down there, and it was, like, a destination thing. That was, like, one of the first times I was on an airplane. I was like, wow, this is crazy. And that was the first time I got drunk. I was 15, and it was a big table. Everyone was drinking. We were at the wedding. My sisters and brothers were like, hey, finish all these leftover wines. I was like, fuck it. Yeah, bah, bah, ha, ha. They're looking. I'm, like, you know, trying to get attention. Yeah. And then it caught up to me. That's funny. I love that. That's the worst kind of drunk. Young, just going, don't know that it hits you, and then there's no, you can't get it back in there. You're done. The anxiety the next day is brutal. So, I would have. I guess you guys all drove down there. You flew down there. I think we flew. Yeah. I think so. I have a really fucked up memory. I've toured. i've toured for like 20 years right and i've been everywhere and i do meet and greets and i've seen hundreds of thousands of people in different cities and different venues and shit like that i don't have a memory anymore yeah we'll do that too i mean that we haven't been doing it for 20 years but i see somebody i go i go i'll i don't know where i was but i've met you before at a meet and greet somewhere and we've said we've we've had this exchange before especially when they they show up in a different city like it's me again what's my name i'm like were you in texas or what you're doing here yeah i'm like it's funny how you can put that together that's funny what was the connection to florida was anybody from down there i think that was the fanciest tropical that's fucking that's location probably that's awesome okay uh growing up did you drink milk with dinner yeah yep really yeah what dinner looked like with all you guys oh man um especially in powderhorn i remember um what's that shit where you add the beef in there and it's just hamburger hamburger helper that was like that was that's how you that's how you feed 10 people that was hamburger helper oh yes stroganoff let's go beef stroganoff who was cooking your mom or rod uh both well actually my memories of most my mom didn't cook for me very well these are memories of my dad's when they were split at my dad's place in powderhorn hamburger helper and then uh i mean i remember fucking uh one dinner we've had we were so broke we had popcorn for dinner i mean like locale i look back at it now like damn like my mom was like alone like you know i'm saying four kids here's popcorn for dinner and i'm like i'm sitting around the table yeah trying to make it work how long till your when your dad left to she got together with rod like that yeah i think i think you know i mean i think my dad and my mom divorced probably when i was two and i think she was with rod at you know four five yeah so your dad was still in the picture a little bit did he get remarried he did get remarried okay yeah and then uh two uh yeah he got remarried and then had a baby with my that's a new youngest that was like eight years younger than me so wow yeah i got that yeah i got one 16 i got my brother's 16 years younger than me damn damn 21 years younger than my sister so it's a little talk about a blended family as well dude my grandma delivered baby she would they she delivered she went to the hospital to have a baby they're like the grandma's coming to have a baby my grandma was having she was having babies when she was a grandma what yeah that baby would be your aunt uncle and her uncle yeah which is younger than which is it would be younger than you yes that's not great that's not great on the ayg richter scale my grandma had some yeah longevity in that pussy that's one way to put it i thought he was gonna go all professional something sentimental well you're batting a thousand so far my friend i'll tell you that right now uh what was the first car you remember having you like you personally for sure uh cutlass sierra there you go that you remember i like my uh i wasn't talking to my dad at the time because he burned my house down so uh he was trying as you do he was trying to like you know um when he's standing the olive branch yeah sorts and i was fucking i needed that shit i was angry so i was like man no i'm putting it off i was like damn i need this car so he showed up uh you know one cold winter night and just like had it warm and shit you know no heat in the house brand new car or no no no uh i was shit 20 my first car you know i'm saying so and it was a it was must have been 15 20 years old it was old as fuck there you go yeah so i mean it was cool though like it fit my i was trying to you know i was already kind of like rapper you know trying to prove myself shit and i was riding up with a cutlass sierra with the like tiny little thin steering wheel and shit it was cool wire wheels sorry yeah uh white walls wire wheels the yeah a hundred spokes yeah no i don't think it was that faint like it was old it was beat up did you do anything to it you know what i mean did you put a radio in it or anything like nothing you're subwoofer no okay do you have a club i was never at the club yeah my dad had the club yeah one of his cars he bought a 250 car and it was like it had a hole in it but it lasted for like 10 years he had a club on that thing like anybody wanted to steal it like now you had mentioned that your dad burned your house down yeah that's true that's such a trashy move i've never heard that i've been doing this shit we've done a thousand episodes class was it an accident no no really yeah the house that your mom and rod lived in no his own fucking house well if you're gonna burn your house down you burn your house insurance or mental health episode we had an art we were i was getting older i was 15 when it happened right and uh i just he was very controlling very charismatic extremely funny very smart he was a preacher he could win over a room ah and then we'd come home and he'd be fucking whooping me up you know i'm saying crazy shit so um at that time for 13 14 i'm like what the fuck is going on with this guy like now i'm starting to think like this is he's different you know and so i started coming into my own opinions and started slowly becoming i'm not a man i don't think i was a man physically until i was like 36 sure but uh you know uh started having arguments and standing up for myself right when i was 15 we had an argument and uh shit i ended up leaving the house and i went to someone else down the block you know some a girlfriend of mine and kicked it and then just to cool off and then i called back like i'm gonna get a ride back and it was just a busy signal you know because ain't no cell phones you know i'm saying and so busy signal busy signal like all you know i might as well go i gotta go back home you know whatever and uh as i'm going back home my my my my friend's mom was like driving me off and there's just fucking ambulances all over the place and i'm like oh you know at the time i'm like oh this is cool like people will get shot on my block and i'll be like damn what's up like sweet a house fire yeah yeah so i'm like your place yeah i'm like just drop me off down the block like everything was shut down i'm like drop me off down the block all right you know tomorrow and i'm like walking and i'm like you know i'm like now i start running and shit oh shit well i show up there there's fire coming out the windows and everything and like i'm like ah and and there's firemen not they're not kicking me out they're not like stay back i went to the my front lawn and i'm like like fucking screaming and like i see the flames coming out the basement windows and shit like that and like you know like i had like a fucking i'm like who's gonna i kind of walked in the middle i don't know why what i was doing there but when did you see your dad after that on that scene like where was did you look over and see your dad standing watching the fire no well then it was my sister came which that's really sad when she came it was like the most visceral nasty terrible scream ever and she was older they were all older and i'm i'm still kind of reacting to like okay dead animals and who's where's what and she's like where's dad where's papa you know and i'm like and she's like he did it you know she fucking knew right away and i'm like i'm like yeah and then he was he ran he was gone for a long time so he did it in split yeah he was disappeared he was he was he was missing for a long time and then they found him in a fucking uh hotel room in duluth like with after a suicide attempt yeah shit super trashy super trashy suicide attempt yeah i respect the move burning down a house and then disappearing that's like that's that's like that's some shit you see in a movie it was like yeah so i got i got some emo tracks sure i was processing some stuff for a few years after that obviously so you were living there or you would split cut i was living there at that time i was doing uh joint custody one week on one week off okay um how close were the houses like to your mom and my mom's was in a good neighborhood in uh linden hills and my dad was in the hood still in potterhorn so uh i don't know probably i mean in this on the south side there like neighborhoods can change really quickly and um it's probably only like 15 minutes away 20 minutes away okay lose all your shit in the fire i assume yeah yeah yeah damn speaking of stuff i mean like you know uh met guys like you you were you like a were you like a butterfly knife guy a switchblade guy throwing stuff like i have a song something i have a song called butterfly knife okay yeah yeah uh it was a it was it was uh that is every dirtbag's first wet like cool weapon is a butterfly knife yeah i had one yeah um but then i was like i don't want to i i was like i have to stab someone with this i don't think you have to i don't think so but with when if if the threat the situations that i was getting in yeah if i took it out it wasn't like i see what you're saying there was there was i couldn't show my butterfly knife in potterhorn i could go maybe i could go maybe to another neighborhood with some like white kids it was a predominantly black neighborhood very poor people and i was at the time like eight ten years old like i thought i was jumped in i thought it was a there was a couple weeks there in the summer where i thought it was a crib this was a this was a ten that's an insane little sentence there was a couple of weeks there one summer i thought it was a crib well i got some bad information well i mean just probably young kids young brothers of real gangsters just trying to emulate what their older siblings were doing. I got jumped in and everything. And I'm like, oh, yeah. I remember my dad had me in Boy Scouts to try and do something positive or whatever. I remember going down to Boy Scouts like, man, fuck that. I'm a white crip now. Like, I got to be the craziest boy in here. Shut up and set your tent up, bro. Yeah. No way. Yeah, so they gave me a knife, and we were running around trying to take bikes and shit, and I'm like, damn, I don't want to stab nobody. Yeah, it's like if you do pull a knife trying to steal something, there's a chance your problem, the conflict is going to escalate. It was just so active that, you know, it wasn't like I was going to the suburbs like, hey, check it out. I'm a cool guy with a knife. That's what I was doing. Just to set the record clear, I was a kid in the suburbs. What a butterfly knife. Yeah, so I don't know. Basically what I was saying, I've had to make like a philosophical decision. I've had to make a decision to be like funny, like sharp-witted, like battle rapper. I make the jokes instead. That was your defense mechanism. I was capping on people, too. Like, I did have that knife for, you know, a while. Where'd you keep it? You know, in my pocket and in the house, you know, in my room. It was like I didn't have to hide it. We were wild, man. Like, everyone had it. I wasn't like, oh, no, I'm going to sneak this. You know, it was just wherever it was. I kept it wherever it was. Wherever it was. It's a great answer. It's a great answer. We're going to have to re-judge the game here. What was your first job? I was a janitor. What? Jesus Christ. I mean, just taking the garbage out at age 15. Whenever I turned 15, my mom was like, you're fucking out of here. For the summer, I want, don't come back to the house until there's five applications. Just run around on your bike, go wherever you want, I need five, or don't come back in the house. And so, I mean, turn 15 that summer, man, I was taking out, you know, I was being like a janitor at a foyer. I was doing Photoshop, like in, you know, people developing films. Yeah, yeah, sweeping up, cleaning up. Yeah, and just throwing shit away, and then doing slides. I worked my way up to, like, making slides, or what are the things you put in, projector slides, yeah. Yeah, slides, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and they did OSHA. You know what OSHA is? Yeah, the. Yeah, so there was, like, I did all that work stuff, safety stuff, so, like, I worked my way up to that, so at 15, I was doing, like, looking at accidents with people's heads chopped off, and, like, trying to, like, line it up. Trying to, like, line it up in the slides, okay, like, that's perfect, click, click, like. Oh, you were doing, like, the documentation for, like, the cases? Making faces of death. Yeah, yeah, basically. That's pretty good, though. You worked your way up. You're cutting film, baby. Look at you. Holy shit. Yeah, and then, you know, I worked a coffee shop and all types of wild shit. I mean, not wild shit, but just normal. But just, yeah, random, normal, normal shit. Yeah. I got one. What was your first concert? Oh, um. It's gotta be good. No, it was, um, Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest. Oh, Jesus Christ. That's a really good one. That's pretty good. Yeah. That's up there with answers we've got. At the Target Center. A friend of mine, like, you know, picked me, you know, to be his guest or whatever, and that was a crazy experience, yeah. How old were you? I don't know. 12, 13. I never really went to a lot of shows. Yeah. So, like, when I started doing shows, like, I didn't know what the fuck was going on. What do people usually do up here? I don't know. Yeah. I respect that. I don't know much about comedy, to be honest with you. I really try to stay away from it. That was also, like, when you start doing comedy, no, like, maybe guys, like, really went to a lot of comedy shows and then started, but it was this thing that, like, I was, I had to go to my, the first comedy show I went to, I actually, I went on. You know what I mean? I just didn't, I didn't know how, you don't know how it works. Yeah, you talk to your friends, and you got jokes, and you're like, are we funny? Like, let's go up. Yeah, let's go figure it out. I remember we had to sit in the audience at Helium one time for a show, and I was like, this has never happened. Oh, they were like, you gotta sit, yeah, that's a tough look. Just a guy sitting there with a Diet Coke. A guy can also be funny. That's funny. Jesus. Huh, okay, how were the grades in school? I can't assume fantastic, or were you one of those guys that, like, I was good enough to get the C's and B's and move on? That's what it was, C's and B's, move on. But I was doing, I was doing, I was really brutal in high school. I was class clown behaviorally, like, this, it's me and my best friend, Daryush Akbari, What a name that is. Irish kid? Yeah, yeah, Irish. Irish Catholic, yeah. And everyone knew us, man, and the news would get out, if we were in the same class, everyone would try and transfer the class to get in our class to see us do our thing together, man. We were funny as fuck. Damn. And we did a lot of bad things in school, and yeah, I threw a fucking kid over a fence once during a pep rally. Jesus. That's not funny. And he broke his arm, and it was in front of, like, the whole class. This guy, that's a different kind of comedy than I like. Yeah. What'd he do? Well, looking back, like, in high school, pep rally, did you have, like, pep rallies? Yeah, we had pep rallies, bonfires. Yeah, and so we were on- It's usually a positive thing, you know what I mean? Supporting the school, not really throwing people over the fence. All right, so this is what we did on the south side, south high, bitch, south high, right on Lake Street, pep rally. We skipped class all day, we made a huge roller sign of graffiti. Okay. Of graph, like, boom, like, so it would be sophomore, juniors, seniors, they'd spend all this time making their sign to put it up, and we'd put up our signs, and we were on the track and field, and we were in the bleachers, and on the other side is this group of juniors, seniors, freshmen, whatever, I was a sophomore at the time, we had our sign, we put our signs up, it was, like, such a tribal fucking event, dude, where- You run through it. Now it was, you had to go to the- Territory and tear their shit up. And I don't know, no one, no teachers were around or anything, I swear to God, they just set this shit up and just let us fucking war each other. That's crazy. And so, it's been, we had our sophomore shit up, and you keep the sign low, you don't put it in the back of the bleachers, you put it right in the front, and then you got your soldiers out here, like, trying to protect your sign. It's like Braveheart. I know, what the fuck, you're all in the same school. Yeah, yeah. You do that to the crosstown rival. Bro, I haven't told this story on a podcast yet, so this is great. So we'd be protecting our sign, and- I wasn't going out to nobody else's shit, but they were just coming out to us, and we just start fighting people just to try and get them off our sign. It's a great school event you got going on. So then, there was a lot of people up there, and then the first person, I think it was like a really big, heavy set Native girl, like, we all- What's a Native girl? Like Native American? Yeah, yeah. Okay, I just never- Yeah, so we all converged on her, and we threw her over the fence to the- we guided her, she landed on her feet. It was a girl. You really backpedaled with it, guided her. Yeah, no, no, it was- We gently placed her on the other side of the fence. Yes, that's- bro, that's exactly what happened. uh that was the first time that happened we were like oh so if there's 10 of us like we can get we can all get gang up and do this and so they kept coming and then we were like yo and and we had a everyone was watching bro the whole sophomore class was watching so every yeah and i'm like i'll live for this shit you know and um and everyone had their different colors and stuff so seniors were um black then here comes a dude oh we threw a couple more people over a couple more people every time it gets a little bit worse and so this is the last time we thunderdome yeah the last time we threw someone over uh he came out and we were boom we were fit there was some fist fights and everything get let's get this motherfucker he comes over he's smaller but he's dressed in black and he's got like a beard so we're like so we think he's a senior he turns out he's a freshman you're gonna say he was a teacher that's mr cheminski you just broke his arm but so uh now everybody's starting to get involved like this is really fun like we've seen it happen before you know i was probably me and my homie dan were one of the first people to really like get him off the ground but at one point once he's up to about shoulder width there was i don't know 10 15 20 and it was so easy yes all of a sudden it was everyone was excited about it a lot of new hands on this boy and then it was like oh it was a hive mentality we saw him go up he did not come down oh he started swimming like this for so long i swear it was so long in the air no exaggeration at least 15 feet in the air like some gymnast shit yeah yeah yeah hoof like god damn freshman he probably weighed 100 pounds and then he he landed like and then everything went silent like the whole and then all you hear is one person it's him and then sounds about right yeah that was my story about throwing a kid that's all that's always like the worst thing when you do something and like you have time before it happens this is bad i shouldn't this is this is not we got carried away that was the hive he got carried away yeah he got carried away that is a wild event though yeah oh they they didn't do that anymore after that there was a i i ruined that for about i think like six or seven years so well you're one of those kids yeah you are one yeah we couldn't do it since black you know five years ago prof killed a guy yeah right right yeah sorry little timmy little timmy jenkins never walked the same he had a full beard he was a freshman i thought he was a senior so but i mean if he was a freshman i would have done the same anyway yeah i love how you're going i thought he was a senior well that was i remember that was like my main excuse when i was getting interrogated he was a big bad senior you know like he's got a beard he's dressed in black oh they brought you in you guys got in trouble for it oh yeah i mean you saw me i was like i was very outgoing i was spoken like trying to be pop i was wow i was crazy people liked me and so everyone they interviewed the whole class and they're like would you see i saw you know jake he was smiling and he ran up everyone saw me go i didn't run away you know so i got yeah he sued me for like 16 grand or something really yeah i think so did you have to pay that like personally off or no no i mean there was no it's like dude like i didn't do that to you like it was right what are you gonna do i can't i can't do that you can't do the whole school the whole sophomore class that's great what's up um he sued you i think he was going to or you know i was told yeah he got it started but i don't think it ever like ever went through with anything jesus huh uh one thing we do who was the most famous person growing up that you met it could have been like a local radio dj or a local celebrity a sports player could have been a news anchor it doesn't have to be like you know that that's the biggest celebrity kent herbeck kent herbeck do you know who that is could be a relief picture or something first baseman on the world championship twins in 1984 kent herbeck there you go i saw him at the mall of america there you go look him up kent herbeck herbie uh he was he's like everyone in minnesota knows him i don't think he's in the hall of fame but he was great he says kent herbeck hall of fame is not in the national baseball hall of fame sorry kent he was he's on the he was on the verge he was a great two world series uh-huh was he nice to you no not really no i didn't have to be back then yeah and it was a great time for him he was a great guy he was a great guy celebrity could just get the fuck out of my face kid his wife his wife was nice i was like are you kent herbeck and he was like no i'm joe small and i remember like i was young and dumb i was like oh shit i thought you were that's a crazy name i thought you were kent herbeck i'm sorry i thought you were not hall of fame fucking first baseman kent herbeck yeah and then his wife was like stop it can't sign this or something you know what a dick yeah what a dick but i respect it how is that mall of america did you grow into a lot growing up was that like the hand because to from the east coast i saw it in like mighty ducks and we just we would hear tales that there was a roller coaster in a mall y'all have never been there all that traveling no you gotta go to the mall what are we doing that was close what do we do in minneapolis the varsity theater yeah right that's a beautiful little venue yeah yeah you'd have to throw a little in there i appreciate that it's a 500 cap you know what i mean do that on a goddamn tuesday so no that's a very very beautiful very small intimate venue you guys congratulations you guys should get new agents that's great was that our mostly friends and family at the show was that a papered room it's not that small it's like no it's a seven or eight hundred cap seated five i'm doing it on tuesday yeah we don't got people on the floor moshing and crowd surfing and shit like that we can't all be throwing people over fences i didn't can't all do red rocks i didn't mean it i didn't mean i just went to red rocks for the first time and you did it and that was that was the thing i was sitting there and i went because you were on the books to do the show i went god damn he fucking that's that was wild i said no wonka what'd you say no i called like this is the best thing i've ever seen in my life i'm like this is the best thing i've ever seen in my life this these dumbass motherfuckers these agents sure i knew who you were talking about namely adam stroll he goes yeah i'm gonna book you for red rocks i'm like absolutely not no absolutely not what the fuck are you talking about you can do it dude i was like no i there's no way i think i thought that i would have been able to do that i don't know how i don't know how i did that looks sick how long did you hold out for that say yes oh i think like four hours start getting that potential walkout no it was it was it was like a week or two they love that when you say they kept convincing me to like try it and i don't i didn't if i do red rocks i want to like pack that shit it's huge i don't want to do red rocks and have like the first three rows like what did that look like like you can't look at one of our shows at the varsity you can't you can't no that's that's a venue you start getting to venues where you go if we're doing it you gotta be able to you've never seen red rocks halfway through yeah you got it's only it's always full you gotta do what a good point i can't i can't i can't be the only one here and have it like a quarter full i thought and they don't necessarily care but you're like you i'm the guy who's gonna walk out to the half full fucking red rocks after i've been promoting it for six months and look like a dickhead i don't know i don't think i've ever seen a picture of red rocks like a third full no it doesn't exist they probably won't book i know yeah they won't book you until they're in and you know that he's right he was right i can't believe that shit that's What a fucking interesting tale. Okay. At what point? All right. I mean, 40 something minutes in and we have only gotten to 15 at this point to sophomore year, but let's switch to more now. And when you started doing well, at what point? When did you start doing well? When was the cash coming in? Because there's a, when were you like a professional musician where you're like, I'm- I'm making, obviously you're like not laughing all the way to the bank, but you're like, okay, I'm making a living doing music. I set myself up to have like, fuck you money when I was really, when I was broke. Okay. Like I was able to get a foreclosed house for like 60 grand, small ass house, was flipping that shit myself. Really? Yeah. And so with my brother-in-law and we were working, doing that shit on the side and then obviously selling drugs and all that. I didn't want to ask, but I for sure knew you had a period where you sold your- Well, yeah, it wasn't just me. It was everyone. I was, it was him. Wait, this is your boys from growing up? Yeah. Well, not growing up, but- Not this year. Selling drugs. Selling drugs. Yeah. 50, 20 year. These are 20 year guys. Great. Love that. Love a 20 year guy. 20 year guy's the best. It's tough to make a 20. You got a guy who makes it 20 years. It's a good fucking guy. Yeah. So, uh, um, I guess I was, I was a pro when, when I was really broke still, um, I was able to stop. I was on like Medicare, Medicaid, medical, medical assistance, and I was living good, man. That was, those were like some of my happiest years. Like I was getting about 20 to $30,000 for how many years straight do you think? I was, I was earning that five, six, seven years, just earning 30,000, about 30 grand a year. And he wasn't getting shit. We were just fucking hustling. And then, uh, it started to pop like right before COVID. Um, And what's that look like? Is that, is that like a single that goes not viable? I don't know. It was, I think squad goals were kind of changed. It's my interest. It's my, I walk out to that and catch out at the varsity theater. Yeah. Yeah. Shut up, man. You are, you were, we're in the middle of fucking Manhattan in the biggest fucking space in Manhattan. We're squatting in here. Don't tell nobody. Did I just, uh, you're doing all right. I think people top 10 on Patreon. What does the, what, where does the revenue come from on that? Like if you have a start doing shows. Yeah. Like what's the, I was doing shows. I was a whole time. I was doing, I was opening up. I mean, when I was still broken, I was starting to get this money and I was a professional. I was doing shows. I was opening up for people for $50. I was losing money. I was just, we handed out a quarter million free CDs and shit. We just pressed, we were just grow, grow, grow, fuck money. We just want to, you know, get it in as hard as we can. And then, uh, around COVID that single came out and it was all, people started to show up to the shows again. We did 30 people, 35 people, 30 people. 60 people, 120 people, a hundred, a hundred people, 400 one time. Then it was, then it was, then it was, you know, uh, 500, you know, 1000, you know, how quickly is this happening? Very slowly. I wanted to get a grind very slowly. Even when it goes quick, even when it goes fast, it's still such a fucking grind. I was on the road. Mike, I don't know, man. How can we even explain? Explain that, uh, really small shows at dive bars, getting into fist fights within the crowd, you know, no backstages shitting in fucking bags. Cause there's no, ain't no, you know, uh, plastic bag, you know what I'm saying? Like pissing in bottles, uh, in my own 15 passenger van. Cause I don't want to get out. Cause I'm in the front of this dive bar, you know, I did that for 12 to 15 years. No, like the night of the show, you know, that's the green room. There ain't no green room or, you know, you know, showman right there. I respect. So yeah, man, there was keep the allure. Yeah. They can't be like, is that prof pissing right there? Yeah. I mean, it barely, almost every time we progressed, like right before we did it, I was like, Mike, I'm about to quit, man. And then, then he was like, here's a bandwagon, you know what I'm saying? I was like, so have a private, you know, uh, urine on it or a bathroom that got toilet in there. She had a couple of bags. Yeah. So it happened really slowly, but, uh, started, uh, getting like livable money around right before COVID and it happened and it scared all of us. We were like, what the fuck? Yeah. We're going to tour like, and luckily we got some government money that helped us through all that shit. We really got the government. Shout out. Shit. Shout out. Uh, so fucking Obama, Obama. I didn't get dick. Yeah. Brett Favre got it all. Oh yeah. He's jammed up, right? He's jammed up. It's fucked up. Damn. Okay. So what was, you know, given that, you know, that wave of it, uh, was there any dumb purchase where you were like, obviously not jewelry or anything, but was there anything where you're like, I didn't need the fucking wave runner. I shouldn't have done that. Are you like, are you, you're pretty good with the cash, man? I still don't even want to pay for like wifi on the flights. Really? I'm like, oh shit. Fucking $8. Damn. Like I'm about to just sit here and just raw dog this shit for five hours. Fuck that. We are different. And Mike's like, bro, buy their shit. I'm like, oh yeah. Wow. But I mean, I got, I, uh, I bought a fucking cabin that really kind of locked me up. Let's go cabin. Yeah. It's an, it's really nice. And, uh, and it's on a fucking lake. It's on a peninsula. And I'm like, that's to get away. Like that was my like, it was a huge decision and it, and it tied me up financially. Probably maybe one of the worst decisions, but currently trying to, you know, pay that off. And I'm trying to get all the homies to go over there and like use it. Cause I get fucking anxiety when I'm just like out here working on it. And I haven't been up there in like three months. I'm like, can someone go up there please? Yeah. Now listen, when you bought it, was it the idea of like, oh, I could be out here every week, not every week, but like this and that. And then like you went like the rubber hits the road. You're like, it's fucking tough to get off. How far away is it? Three hours. Fuck. It's out there. It's out there. Damn. That's a long time to get there for a fucking, after you've been traveling all week. If you like land on Thursday on a Friday, Friday, I got to fucking pack the car up. No hours. There's no grocery. No, you could just go up there, you know? So, um, but it's, I am okay with it. It's, that's good. I need, I need to have that shit. Yeah, of course. Even the mentally that all I can go there. If I want, I have some sort of escape type thing. No, that's being in nature now is like, this is like some classy shit or I don't know if this is not like, I need to get out there and quiet down after all this stuff. So I respect it. Yeah. Where are you living now? Minneapolis still house. Mm-hmm. Nice. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's the nicest house I've ever. That's great. It's not like a huge mansion or whatever, but I remember after I bought it, like having all my friends in there, I'm like, kind of feel bad. I'm like, look, man, look at this. You know, um, you bozos take your shoes off. Don't get on my carpet. Yeah. Yeah. But, uh, yeah, that's good. I live in a nice house. That's great. It's not an, it's not, it's not. Yeah. For me, it's really nice. That's it's yeah. It seems like you've always been responsible with your money and the investment and all that kind of stuff. Very, very. Yeah. Yeah. I don't, I'm scared of money. I don't gamble. You know, I don't do any of that shit. I'm very, I want to be fuck you first. I, there's a couple of times I think in my life where I felt like I was obliged to like, Oh my God, I got, I have to work for this right now. And so being creative or something like I, you know, all those day jobs and stuff, especially when I quit, I was like, I don't want to have to go back, purchase something that I'm just a slave to something now. And that's pretty decent. Yeah. That's my manager, Mike Campbell. His name is Mike Campbell. He's a professional manager in the music industry. Your boy uses a weed with probably most managers in the, um, all right, let's, I mean, okay. We get to this party. He's pretty, pretty spotless. He's, he's, you know, he's, he's pretty, but are you currently any beefs with any neighbors? Is there anybody, you know, any neighbors around that you're like this guy that complains about your trash can? It sounds like they need to, I got people stop calling me and stop calling me and complaining if I'm going through your garbage, because that's public. If I'm going up and down the alley, if I'm going up and down the alley, that's public domain. So I can look at something out in there, their stuff. He's going, I think he's saying he's going through their stuff. Yeah. That's public. Why are you going through their trash? Why not? It's hanging out. You never know. No, it's funny though. My neighbors are some like crotchety old bitches. No, they're not. They're not. They're not. They're not. They're not so I love them. They're all cool. Like I got their backs. They're all women. And they're all like old and mad and shit. And I'm like, what's up? You know, like we like each other. So do they like, uh, do they like that? They're their neighbors, a rapper. Does that, does that, you know, if that makes them feel cool, they don't give a shit. They're old and angry. So I love it. I love it. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. No way. K 47 is anything like that? No way. K 47. No jet skis. No Hummers. I got a boat, man. - You got a boat? - Okay. - I'm on a cabin. I ain't got a boat. I got a 2023. uh fucking lund okay 17.5 fucking you know whatever i don't know is that a good boat i don't know yeah it's it's good it's and i'm new to that shit so i'm out there on this cat on the cabin and i'm like some city kid way out there and i'm like trying to back this shit up and i don't know clue what i'm doing i'm like oh my god this thing is so expensive now i got an expensive car too and i'm backing it up i'm like oh it's it's a source of stress what's the car what's the day-to-day car you're whipping around i'm whipping around uh gen first generation um rivian rs1 okay four four motor fucking fucking rivian yeah you hook the boat up to that and bring it out there yeah yeah i got well i like to when i go to the cabin i like to bring a trash car up there gotcha what's the lives out there you got your own dock got my own dock on the lake you gotta have a boat you gotta have a boat you gotta have a boat you gotta have a boat pretty good you can't be on it you can't be on the lake without a slip do you launch the boat yourself and un and pull it i do all that shit now now i know i'm doing like the trailer hitches and shit like i'm getting dirty like i'm i'm i feel like i'm getting uh country or something you know should you take a course on how to boat or anything no no so no i'm telling you the first couple times i took it out bro i was terrified will you get on the boat with them no that's exactly why we asked that sir first question can you swim you believe in this shit what the fuck is this no we were talking on mic the whole time i figured i get where you get on the boat because you trust me yeah not because of the color of your skin i don't be like no i'm black i don't think that was right on you that's crazy cut that that's he's got that right in his gun i respect that hell no i don't go on the boat no bro it's a it's very it was very scary uh all that shit you know i'm uh trees fall down i'm buying chips i'm buying chips i'm buying chips i'm chainsaws and shit like i'm so you know trees are i'm kind of at that point there's a tornado right up there by my crib and um you're maintaining the yard and all that kind of stuff i thought you meant in the boat knocking over trees or something like that no i don't i've never seen a boat knock over a tree but yeah probably don't you have to have your license or something like that to drive a boat that's what i was thinking i'm like is anybody gonna fucking stop i'm pretty sure you do no i i think each state's different i remember you need them for like wave runners and stuff you're basically more dangerous than dog when i bought this boat i was like i i didn't even know how to hook it up to the thing the guy the boat dealer's like here you go point he hooked it up for me and i'm like i'm just gonna drive away like that would give me so how the fuck do i do this and and then i'm trying to like put it you know pull over and do all this shit like it was i can't believe it's legal just for me them to let me do this type of shit it's wild west out there it's freedom real freedom inboard motors outboard motors outboard motor but it's on you know it's a steering wheel it's not one of them motherfuckers center console or to the left or to the right that all right that all right pretty good very nice what do you got yamahas i got a fucking mercury uh mercury fucking one 135 excess probe baby very nice are you married you are yeah all right how long have you been with your girl long time no shit yeah man this guy's fucking rock solid well there's a uh been i've learned a lot of lessons along the way like i feel like i have wisdom now because i was i was wiling bro like i'll come back on the show again and talk about my 20s you know i'm saying i'm in my 30s probably need to do an anthology so i learned a lot of lessons so you know like uh i gotta keep it zipped up tight let's say uh all right first couple questions uh do you know how to tie a tie yes how many suits do you own oh shit i mean we buy suits for music videos right i picked the uh but like personally just the one i bought for the like i think one we got fit you know like i haven't worn it i haven't worn it since i probably say one maybe one jacob's anything like that i don't know i think it's no it's like a hundred dollar suit maybe 115 dollars look he's 100 115 like maybe 100 that's gonna sway it to a different class uh is it men's warehouse or gucci at 115 i can't i can't it was definitely we went to men's warehouse shoes off in the house i don't really give a fuck you're cool with it well me you know but like at a party okay i like that say uh if you're let's say you were going to a wedding right what would you give as a gift cash wise to the to the recipient or what would you would you do something from the registry as well you could do that i don't know you let your your wife maybe take care of that i don't know you know i'll probably forget a gift right i'll go there and then there's gonna be a huge table of shit and i'll be like oh fuck so that's that's more realistic okay interesting answer nothing at all yeah yeah the dirtbag answer is you have up to a year to dropping dropping us off not looking back like the bus driver was like he still he still dropped us off peels out of there yeah so we saw a couple people die there and then no shit we were yeah it was like like right now as an adult I'd be like I would be traumatized I would be like We've got to figure something out. I know the value of life. Back then, I was like, this makes me more tough. Well, you were in the crypts for this couple of days. It's just like the movies. Oh, I got some stories to tell. I didn't know, like, those were real people. Those were sons, you know, fathers, you know, whatever. You got your butterfly knife out on the news. Like, yeah. I said it took me to, I used to watch, I used to love watching, like, murder shows. And now that I have a kid, it's like this, I'm like, I can't. I look at it. They were, like, just, like, nameless, faceless people to me. Now they're like, I'm like, no, that's somebody's father's son. Yes, yes. They're not just some asshole that got murdered. Well, it ties you into, like, the fabric of history and society. And, like, you're more connected with people. You're like, damn. Yeah, no, for sure. Yeah. Third grade on the news for a drive-by. Jesus Christ. You're traveling a lot. Do you have a go-to airline that you like? We like Delta. We're Delta men, too. Shout out. I saw a couple of gentlemen when I saw you. Although Wonka just flew United, and he's like, hey, United got this, this, this, and that now. Get out. That's crazy. United. Starlink. They do have Starlink. They have Bluetooth for the movies, so you can wear your own shits instead of all them dumb ass. They do. Where did I fly? I just flew United. Yeah. I mean, while we were flying during that layover, we just got here, canceled flight and everything, but he was riding for United. What level medallion are you? I don't know, but he's diamond, so he just- I'm a diamond man. How are you? I think he keeps booking our shit and the company shit under his personal shit. I respect the move. So- That's how you do it. Racking up the miles, baby. Yeah. I love it. Where do you take your shoes off on a plane? Oh, I'd like to, but I almost did it yesterday. I was so hot, bro. I was like, goddamn. Man, it was so hot. I almost took my shoes off yesterday. But yes, I've done it a lot, but now I'm like, I don't know. I see. I see like TikToks, but look at it. Obviously, I'm not- You're aware of it. I'm a foot over somewhere. Sometimes I might take them off and just let them suck it. Breathe. You got it. You got me. You bring any food on the plane? Yeah, I brought blueberries. Respectable. Never like a tuna sandwich or anything like that? Pork rinds, menthols. Okay. Are you a pork rinds man? No. Okay. That's like a lot of people are doing that for like health snacks, right? Because it's like the good fat. Yeah, low-cal, good fat. Never got into that. Oh, shit. What do you like to snack on? Pussy. Pussy. Pussy, Foley. Pussy. Look me in the eyes, Foley. Now you sound like a goddamn musician. I don't know, man. I'm trying to get healthy. I get heartburn and shit. You know? So it's just that the ages just get me. So like I'm honestly just like trying to- When I was like in the 20s and 30s, I thought eating healthy was like for bitches and pussies. Yeah. Like I didn't want to get caught eating nice. I'm like, looking back, like that is such a dumb thing. I know. That's crazy. But that's conditioned. And some weird American shit, like, nah, you got to eat these big-ass company fast food shit. Like, nah, you're eating an apple, pussy. I still kind of think that. Do you take anything for the acid reflux? Apple cider vinegar. Is that right? That's pretty buttoned up. No, but I do take omeprazole and the other one, too, if it gets bad. Zantac, I got you. Yeah. You like aqua seltzer? You do an aqua seltzer? Never had that. If you get into a pinch, a little baking soda and water knocks it out in two seconds. Comes back in about 15 minutes. Yeah, even more angry. All right. Do you have name brand luggage? Hell no. No, you're just like, whatever you got at Marshall's. I don't give a fuck about any name brand anything. Gotcha. I feel like a sucker wearing that shit. The only thing I will say with luggage, the name, the good, I'm not saying like a fucking Louis carry-on, but like, you know. The name means something. It does. The quality is better because that shit's getting thrown around. I've never even looked into it. I bought, like, when we started traveling 15 years ago, I bought some shit. And it was fucking, you know, I think after we got robbed on tour. All musicians, band, everybody ends up getting robbed. What'd you get robbed? Santa Cruz. A bunch of criddlers. Man, they're out there. Remember? Santa Cruz. They got everything, bro. They took, they fucking took us. And we got out, too. It was, we were so dumb. We got out and we were just, like, so tired. I don't know what we did, but we were like, we traveled for so long. We're like, it's the beach. It's surfing. We didn't know. We got out. We're like, these motherfuckers. Shady is fucking ahead of us. Like, look at these fucking crackhead ass, like, you know, mean mugging us and shit. And then we're like, all right, see you later. We're going to go over here. Here's our tour van with fucking. And we just left them there. The van. They always get the van and the hitch or whatever. They always get the van. 15 passenger van. You look inside and it's stacked to the top. Yeah. Of course. That was so dumb. Insurance? Nah. She. We did. We did a. We did. We did a go fund me and they fucking. Let's go. Dude. I have. How are the people? I have like the best fans in the industry. I think. Well, it's funny. Our van just got broken into. Send it right. Venmo. Eight. Forty five million dollars. They took no shout out. I legit have the best fans in the industry. I think they they they bought that last record that I have. Good time, boy. They bought over 30,000 copies. So let's go. What was the beef? I was trying to track it. I couldn't track it with the whole with the charts. We. We had. The number one rap selling rap record in the entire world. Like I. Let's go independent. It's still. I mean, NBA Youngboy came out at the time. And so he he TI came out at the same. We dropped at the same day. NBA Youngboy is a global superstar and he streams really high. But my fans bought a dumb amount. And they don't want independent people doing that. So we knew it. Major labels. They heard they were they were talking in the rooms and shit. And the workers who like who we have connections with, what do we call them? Rats on little snitches, informants, informants that we love. They're in there. Hey, so and so they're they're getting lawyers in the shorts. They're getting lawyers on you. They're all going to come on you because they see they're come on you. Pause all these all these record execs. They're talking about you. They're going to come on you and they're going to come after you. And then they can then they're going to come after me. And they did. Yeah. We sold so many records. So we'll never really know exactly. It's so complex. So we'll never really know. But like, man, fuck that. You know, we're we're we also agree. I mean, it's like, you know, we're built by, you know, by the audience. Right. Like there was no we don't get any. You know, we do our ad reads, but that's all based on who consumes it. Right. You know, for the people by the people, the tickets. There's no like we don't have a big ad deal where we're like with whoever that cuts us a check. It's all all the money comes from. It's the fans support for the product that we create. And they can that is the best. That is the I think that's what in an entertainment industry. That's the best. That's fuck you. Money. Fuck you. Time. Fuck you. Everything. The system's built to go. Hey, do you want to do this? We go. I don't want to do that. Yeah. We're just going to stay. That's what we can do. We like doing. I just want to say thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Shout out to them. It's the fucking best. I'll push back. I do want to do it. Whatever it is. I'll take that big check. Shout out to any pharmaceutical company. Yeah. I would do big tobacco because we were a heavy heater. Really? They're not allowed. Y'all still like a heater. You still smoke. I'm still smoking. I'm off. You're still smoking. Yeah. I'm still smoking. Damn. We were. I mean, like all of our merch has heater. Like it's like we're a big smoking. Yeah. I kind of came up like that. Like, let's drink. Let's drink. And I'm trying to drink less. And I don't really smoke anymore. So what did you smoke? Menthol 100s, bitch. What brand? Fucking. What brand? Marbs. No. Newport. You were doing Newport. You really had a search for that? Newpy 100s. That's wild. You had a search for Newport? No, I can't recall things anymore. I have Alzheimer's. Do you really? I don't know. I don't know what the fuck is going on, but I can't recall things no more. But, you know, Newport's one of my go-to, but honestly, like Marlboro, Menthol 100s, we're good too. Man, I respect it. I love a Newport. Ugh. I can't. I used to. I cut back and back and back. And then it was like. I finished a tour my last day after like the last show. I'd have however money I wanted. A couple heaters. And then I would be sick as fuck because I'd be drunk as hell. And then I would cut it back to just two. And then one day I had, you know, one. And then one, I was like, let's give me my cigarettes. My tour manager presents me with my two cigarettes. And then I'd be like. It doesn't hit. Ah, shit. I was like, I'll just smoke a vape. Yeah, it doesn't hit. I respect it. I mean, you know. Now, listen. You're going to. I don't know how you're going to react to this. Me? I think I'm right there. I think I'm in lockstep with you. Hmm. Maybe not. Humble beginnings. Very. Right? Checkered past. Dad burning down a house. Throwing the kid over the fence. Mm-hmm. Getting, uh, talking on the news about a drive-by at third grade. Being on the Crips for a little bit. Being on the Crips. The butterfly knife. Going to Iceland with your stepdad and your mom at 20. That's wild. That's just weird. Have you ever saved a Crown Royal? Little bag. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you have. You put your change anywhere at the house? Currently? Yeah. Yeah. What's that? What is that container? Coffee can? Bowl? It's a, it's a, it's like a mirror with an edge around it. Okay. And I got, I got my glasses changed in, um, Canadian money from the last Canadian tour. Yeah, it's always, there's always something like a loony or toonies. Loonies and toonies, baby. You wear glasses? No. Sunglasses. Yeah. Didn't you say glasses? Summary:

", hosts Kevin Ryan and H.
