Midterm Exit Polls, JD Vance on Why Voters Flipped & DeSantis’ Warning to the GOP | PBD #885
1h 59m 2s
The post-election analysis reveals a significant Republican defeat, marked by losses in key states like Texas and Georgia, where Republicans lost control of multiple statewide offices. This shift has redefined the political landscape, highlighting the growing influence of "America First" and anti-war sentiment—especially regarding the Iran conflict—as central to voter discontent. JD Vance and Ron DeSantis rise as potential 2028 candidates, with Vance’s sharp critique of the administration and DeSantis’s decisive victory in Florida signaling a strategic realignment within the GOP. The stock market’s strong performance reflects confidence in political stability over uncertainty, as investors favor divided government and predictable policy. Critics argue that Trump’s inner circle failed to respond to public criticism, with figures like Pete Hegseth potentially facing removal to restore leadership credibility. Meanwhile, Democrats are seen as benefiting from demographic shifts, such as migration from California to more conservative states, which may reshape electoral outcomes. The narrative underscores how mass anxiety over foreign policy, inflation, and economic issues has fractured the right, while also emphasizing resilience. Despite setbacks, the overall tone remains hopeful—driven by the belief that leaders can adapt, learn from failure, and rebuild, reinforcing the central message that “the future looks bright.” This optimism is rooted in historical patterns: past leaders like Clinton and Obama faced similar midterms but recovered, suggesting that even in defeat, recovery and renewal are possible.
Did you ever think you would make it?
I feel I'm supposed to take sweet victory
I know this life meant for me
Adam, what's your point?
The future looks bright
My handshake is better than anything I ever signed, right here
You are a one-on-one?
My son's right there
I don't think I've ever said this before
So, I think I'm going to share this with you
It's a little bit vulnerable
But Tom, this morning, is doing something to us we don't like
And it was very uncomfortable
This entire time, he's trying to say
Do you guys want to play Ouija board tonight?
Who the hell wants to play the Ouija board?
Leave this alone
You know, everybody has a bad story with Ouija boards
I don't know, we should play
We should gather tonight at the Cigar Lounge
And play Ouija board
Who says something like that, Tom?
So, I'm just telling you right now
I'm not open to that idea, okay?
I know you like playing games like that
You've got to get serious, Tom
This is life
After the election, I have to try something
Nine on ten by Tom
Some of the stories that were shared this morning
Was very weird
But that's how this works, you know
And then we get into all the stories that we got
Scott Jennings
I don't know if you guys saw the video or not
Scott Jennings decides yesterday
Out of all the people to go after Viva
He decides to go bonkers on Vivek
What did Vivek do to you, Scott?
I mean, Scott, you could have been a little bit more
If you haven't seen this clip
We've got to show it to you with Scott Jennings
He went off
Then apparently there's stories about the fact that
Hexad may get fired
Some people are saying he's going to get fired
Trump's asking people around
Hey, what do you think?
What do you think?
What do you think?
What do you think?
Should we fire him?
Do you think he's doing a good job?
And those kinds of conversations are taking place
So he may have that
J.D. Vance has a tweet
You can tell immediately
Two people who jumped and saying
Ooh, this is my opportunity to get in for 2028
One is him
The other one is Ron DeSantis
Vance sends a tweet out
Calling out the president
On why the midterm was the way that it was
And the president was forced to react to it
And there's a video we're going to play to
Where the president kind of agrees a little bit
But he says
Nothing I can do
But I still got to do what I got to do
But we have to look at Vance's tweet
It's not one of those novel Bill Ackman type of tweets
But it's pretty long
I wouldn't say it's a Trump type of long tweet
But it's pretty long
The exit poll says why 88% of voters
What was the number one issue
For 88% of voters
On the exit polls
We have to talk about that
And then Musk
And Trump having a conversation
About Trump having to pardon Musk
Because they're worried that they're going to go
Preemptive pardon
And then Trump
You know some people sell those for $50 million
If you want one
I mean there's some people
That are selling those for $50 million
By the way
Let me tell you what's crazy
I get the craziest Manex all the time
Sometimes some weird Manex I get
I send them to Vinny
Like girls want to
I'll send them to Vinny
Because Vinny does a good job
15 minutes
But this guy Manexed me today
Saying hey
Is there any way you can put me in contact
With the people at the White House
To see if I can get a pardon
22 year old
That's a felon
A 22 year old
I'm like
Do you realize
What are you doing
You're not asking a question like that
But I say
Can I help you
You can
Talk to a lot of other people
This guy cannot help you
Although Alina Haba
Has a rate card for that
Yeah it was $50 million
Trump wasn't happy about that
But biggest winners and losers
We got to talk about that
Biggest winners and losers
There's Zelensky
That's celebrating a little bit
That they won
Because he knows
Democrats are going to be more pro him
Than Trump
Trump kind of pushes him a little bit
Democrats are blind loyalty to him
Which they would benefit
And you should see the celebration
Ilhan Omar
If you like to see her dance
She was showing
Remember when she was
When I was dancing
At the Vol Conference
I was doing Armenian
She's kind
But you got to see
Her crip walk was phenomenal
Seriously
I'll show you the video
Can't wait
It was actually very impressive
When she was celebrating
We're going to talk about
The biggest winners and losers
I'm going to show you something
That everybody is thinking
It's the end of the world
And it's not
I'm going to show you
A number
Two of them
For you to see
For some of the people
That are selling you
Fear porn
End of the world
All this other stuff
Then you'll kind of see
What adjustments
Some people are making
And what I think
Trump's going to be doing
In the next two years
I want to actually think
You know
Ask you guys
What you think
Trump's going to be doing
In the next two years
Scott Galloway
You know
Jennings
There's two Scots
We have to be careful with
Scott Jennings
Went after Vivek
But he went after Vivek
For the way he campaigned
Scott Galloway
Went after Musk
For his life
Like it was
I don't know if you guys
Saw the clip or not
You didn't see it
Crazy
So this
Like these Scots
Have a bad temper
Like we got to be careful
With these Scott Galloway
And Scott Jennings
Kalshi had a big day
Ilan I don't know
If you saw Kalshi
This morning
I think both Ilan and Vinny
Are going to put some money
On Kalshi
I am
Trading
They learned something
About Kalshi this morning
I love it
That if you put it in
You don't have to wait
Until the very end
You can take your money
Because it's like a stock
You don't have to wait
Until the company
I love it
Khamenei
Khamenei
You spit all over
You might get electrocuted
This mic is
You know
Khamenei comes out
And tweets something
Okay
As if he's alive
But allegedly
He's alive tweeting
In a bunker
You know
He's tweeting out there
About you know
Trump and US
Then stock market
People are asking
What happened to the stock market
Why did it go up?
Tom's got a very
Very good perspective
Of what's going there
And then inside of Texas
And Georgia
Having to do with data centers
We'll go into that
Tyler Rico
Sends a tweet
Allegedly
Saying
The white man
Is the problem
So to all the white people
That are watching this
I got some stats
I want to share with you
To all the white folks
In Texas
On what happened to you
From 1970
Till today
It's very important
Specifically for white people
You want to say white properly?
White
It's white
No it's white
That's the racist
That's the racist
People make fun of my accent
I do my best
I'm
Quiet
California got one thing right
The wealth tax
For California
Prop 40
And Prop 42
Prop 42
Looks like it's going to end up
Passing
Which means there won't be
A wealth tax
In California
Ro Khanna had a rough night
No one's talking about
That's a very good sign
It's a very good sign
For California
Although
Nithya Raman
The socialist
Left of Karen Bass
Like a Mamdani
Even left of Mamdani
Is allegedly going to be
Beating Karen Bass
So Karen Bass
Has to step away
And LA's got a beautiful
Socialist marriage
Don't you love that?
You know all the
Homelessness in campus
I love it
It's going to be phenomenal
So good
Maloney in Italy
Is worried about
Her millionaires leaving
So she's proposing
A wealth tax
Kind of like Canada
If you're going to leave
Vinny
You have to pay the wealth tax
Before you leave
And then Johnny Depp
Is whispering
That he may do
Pirates of the Caribbean
We have to talk about that
And on the ballot
Do you know
Idaho had
On the ballot
On what's going to be
The best gun
For the state
I love it
They voted for
Their favorite gun
For the state
And when I read this to you
This is Idaho
I don't know what the number is
But they have a high percentage
Of people that carry there
Like you literally
Will go there
While you're having dinner
At you know
Your restaurant
You put all the guns on there
And they'll excuse us
Can we move this
You got the AK-47 stuff
Let me move the M16
Here's your clam chowder
Viva
Enjoy the clam chowder
Bunch of rounds
On the table in Idaho
It doesn't look like that
But that's just the visual
I'm giving you
It's the only way I eat
Yeah
And then we got
A couple other things
We'll get into
I want to show you guys
A video
Of how it depicts
What happened to
Texas
And then what happens
With people going
From California
Because it became
Too blue
To Texas
To Florida
And then we'll get into that
So with that being said
You know what shirt
I'm wearing
I'm wearing a shirt
From Abraham Lincoln
That says
Future looks bright
With his nice shades
That he has
Because we firmly believe
There is nobody
If you want to
Upset your enemy
Your haters
People who look at you
As if you have to be defeated
Nothing irritates
Your enemy
Your enemies
And your critics more
Than you staying confident
About the future
Looking bright
And having hope
Do you know what pissed off
Hitler the most
In Germany
Christians
He hated Christians
Why
Because they believed
Everything was going to work out
And they were not afraid of him
They're like
God's in charge buddy
I don't care how powerful
You think you are
God's million times
Bigger than you
It's infinite times
Bigger than you
There's nothing you can do
If you want to
Piss off your enemies
If you want to
Piss off all the people
That are thinking
You're worried
Go out there and say
Buddy
Future looks bright
I got nothing to worry about
I'm going to do my part
A mentor of mine
Back in the day
It's a man named Greg
Said something very powerful
Stuck with me
Tilted
I was 23 years old
First time he said this
He said pray like it's up to God
But work like it's up to you
And as long as we do that
We're going to be scored away
Last time we had dinner
With Steve-O and his father
It was a three hour
We should have recorded that fight
We had a good time with Steve-O
But with that being said
Before we get into the podcast
I want you to turn your attentions
To possibly the most
Comfortable loafers
You will ever wear in the world
Go ahead
Handmade in Portugal
Where craftsmanship
Is a way of life
For those who move
Through life differently
From sunlit decks
To nights that never need an occasion

Every step effortless
Crafted from fine suede
And built with builder technology
Designed to move with you
Because true luxury
Isn't about being
Noticed
It's about how you feel
When you arrive
The FLB Icon Loafer

Go to FLB.com
Place your order
And if you don't have any gear
For Future Looks Bright
Go put it on
Go to work
Let people realize
You're very confident
And optimistic about the future
With that being said
Let's get right into it
Reaction
Number one reaction
So right after the election is done
Midterms
Numbers
Everybody is sitting there
And saying oh my god
This is the worst day ever
Cannot believe how many seats was flipped
What's going to happen here
Do you know Trump lost how many seats
Plus minus it's what
40, 41
Some are saying 40
But it's going to end up being 41
Do you know what Bill Clinton and Obama
Don't show it yet
What do you think is the most seats
They lost Tom
When they were president
Obama and Clinton
What do you think is the amount of seats
I have it in front of me
I'm not going to answer it
Okay so what do you think the number is
Elon I'll come to you guys
I know it's a lot
Something commensurate
I know it's a lot
- Oh, I would have not guessed that.
- You would have not guessed that.
think the number is i would have thought by the way in 2020 2018 trump lost i think 24 seats but
what do you think is the most clinton and obama lost when they were president on their second
term what do you think it is watch this you ready pull it up clinton and 94 lost 54 house seats
i would obama's record 63 house seats and trump's at 40 and 25 meaning even though you're seeing all
the stuff that's taking place the seventh senate what's the numbers let me read it to you
seven senates 40 house five governors five attorney generals eight state chambers by the
way texas not only lost governor they lost senate and they lost ag because ken paxton who was the
age he steps out to go out there and become the senator he lost the ag that went to the left
and the state and the governor but in the past this shellacking has happened before by the way
when obama lost 63 guess what he did he still went and got a lot of things done so for me when you
see a number like that you're going to see a lot of things done and you're going to see a lot of
this time i'll come to you first and by the way can you pull up the other tweet as well i want i
wanted to find out over the years how often has the house been controlled by democrats you think
it's more republican you think it's more democrat i mean you saw it right there so take a look
look at this right there 31 controlled democrats all the way through keep going republicans had
it for a couple times there but it's blue blue blue blue blue blue blue blue blue look at that
look how many years vinnie okay go go back up 60 look at it from 56 all the
way to 94 vinnie since eisenhower an incredibly popular wartime president that got it and then
look at them republicans then he got republicans from 96 to 2007 then obama comes them then
republicans eight then uh left four then republicans so now this thing that people see thinking it's
the end of the world but i'll come to you tom first with with everything that happened we're
going to get to the jd vance tweet here in a minute matter of fact let's just get into it so
one of the most important uh data analysts in our site observed uh um over was composition whether
the electorate looked close enough to 2024 republicans to win and despite polls that
showed a democrat blowout the data kept on telling us the same story in some states turnout was merely
okay in other states it was downright amazing and in no state was a catastrophic there was a genuine
self of optimism on our team our people were showing up so i asked the smartest data guy i know
does this mean we're going to shock the world no he told me we might do better than the polls suggest
this the right uh tweet go a little bit lower go a little bit lower go a little bit lower yeah
right i'm gonna go to this we lost there yeah so another pollster one of the smartest people i know
in politics told me yesterday we'd lose the generic ballot by 13 points i felt negative going
into tuesday but even i was shocked by this in his polling he saw that a lot of trump 2024 voters
were angry and planning to vote for democrats he asked those voters who had abandoned us would
cause them to come back on our team the top four answers accounting for nearly all of the responses
were end of the end of war number two focus on cost of living inflation number three put america first
number four change our relationship to israel our voters showed up and the above four reasons are why
many of them voted for democrats this is according to a pollster who nailed the results can you go to
trump reacting to the uh jd's uh tweet here here's what trump had to say to jd when he was asked what
do you think about what jd had to say on why we lost and here's what he had to say go for it i lost
last night was the war in iran well i think it's uh largely true because it drove the gasoline up a
little bit short term and probably that's uh probably it's true but at the same time if i had
it to do again i'd have to do it again because long term uh it's the only answer you can't let
iran have a nuclear war you feel like it was worth it i do yeah i mean well you have no choice i mean
plus minus the historic you know you know my god it's the end of the world jd's reaction to the fourth
what do you stand with this well i i hate that this happened but this is a midterm result um i i
took it in the chops thank you very much for um you know underwriting decision uh 2026 you crushed
it you were a star well but also it was vt analytics and you're an investor you invest in
things and we invested in our own numbers and when we came out and said look 85 chance it's going to
be 55 and one there's one independent out there but he votes with the democrats that's 56 44 so
we were right i had people calling me you know israel's bitch and worse
and stuff and i'm like why is your head in the sands this happens in a midterm and the people
are legitimately upset and they need a better product what i think is really interesting why
did clinton and obama i have a different take clinton and obama lost worse at the midterms
because they touched the third rail of health care costs both of them did remember clinton
tried to do a nationalized health care and remember lewinsky was second term and he got
slammed now she may have been working in the first term but
people found out about the yeah i don't i want to give her credit hard work well i once saw i once
saw her yeah he was grateful for her by the way it's tough with hillary but uh i once saw a very
inappropriate chart that showed the stock market versus the days that lewinsky was allegedly
visiting the president and there was a correlation so i was thinking wait a minute if this is
correlated maybe we should just keep the president happy and the economy will charge
inappropriate but they're inappropriate so it's well wasn't my joke it came off wall street uh
so
54 for clinton 63 for obama when americans really freaked out and so what it shows me
is when the dems think that they've got everything together and they start to push dem dem things
you know what happens the american people have historically in very recent history come back
and said no thank you and they were no thank you harder at those midterms but we have to look at it
straight um the product that we ended up showing uh that the conservatives ended up with with
all those things that jd vance said was not a product that people want and guess what they
called them the the um the defectors and there were the independent votes defected and the new
republicans remember all those republicans that registered uh 2024 and afterwards uh ron desantis
talked about the ones that registered in florida they defected too remember byron won but look at
the margin of victory it wasn't five six seven points as predicted it was tight until 10 o'clock
it was tight until 10 o'clock
is it the end of the world tom no the future looks bright because we fix some of those things
similar to what jd says and we get us going back where we should and let the voice of the people
be heard and i think things are going to go back is the road going to be easy no we have seven
senators that have a six-year um lifespan now uh political lifespan that are there that are not
going to get unseated you know so you know for six years viva so we got work to do well the future
looks bright first thing i think that pollster that smartest man that
jd vance knows is richard barris people's pundit if i had to guess and the issue is that people have
been warning about these things for a very long time and people had their either heads in the
sand or were demonizing the people sounding the alarm it's not i mean it's catastrophic but it's
not extinction level like like desantis is suggesting but the highlights the problem
where trump is saying okay i would do it again with iran but what is the it because the issue
was there were moving targets multiple goals with the intervention in iran it went from regime change
to freeing the iranians and then it went from regime change to freeing the iranians and then it
to no nuclear weapon which ought to have been or we were told was resolved after operation midnight
hammer where people like okay we don't like it but if it's a pinpoint strike and you know limited
fine then it became a moving target where you don't even know what the goal is you don't know
when you've achieved it and trump coming out now and saying i do it again when after eight months
of a non-war that's not a never-ending war but it's still a war and it's still ongoing
and we don't know if we've achieved the goal i mean that leaves a lot of uncertainty where people
are like i don't even know what the goal is anymore but we warned you against this it's had
the impact we predicted and now we're defecting and we're trying to show you you know teach you a
lot yeah i'm gonna great point it became viet ron well i'm gonna take an unpopular opinion i haven't
heard that actually that's not bad i've been heavily outspoken against the messaging around
the war regardless of how you feel whether it was justified or not the messaging has been
terrible and the goalposts has changed consistently we still don't know what the objective is even
right now as he says we might go back in we don't know what the objective is but i want to talk
about something else that i think is going on i opened up my and i've been screaming that this
is going to happen for a very long time just for a different cause i've been saying that israel will
be the trojan horse that ushers in the the dsa socialism islamism and i've i studied mass
psychosis i did a documentary on mass psychosis okay and what we see right now in society it's
very akin to covid very akin to the salem witch trials where you have a real grievance in society
you have a very real grievance the economy and every single if you look at every single thing
that that jd vance listed there can all be tied back to israel that's what every single person
does they take the iran war and they go trump is secretly working for israel i opened up my
taxes the reason you don't have universal health care we even saw the ad that came out for abdul
el-sayyed secretly because of israel and it's become a singular point to justify all the
grievances that you experience and this has been infiltrating the right for a very long time i've
been talking about it people are underestimating the america first movement they're underestimating
the impact it's having and the new euro witch is now your israel first and people don't realize how
powerful that actually is i turned on my instagram today i got video after video after video after
video i don't know if you're in my algorithm
of videos telling you i was happy i didn't vote because a vote for trump would have been a vote
for israel or they're both the same party and i get the same thing which is a war for israel
repeated over and over and over all over social media some of it organic some of it pushed by
foreign adversaries are now celebrating exactly what's happening and it has managed to fracture
the right and again i've been warning against this for a very long time if israel disappears today
our economy doesn't suddenly get better doesn't suddenly solve our problem but they're still
going to be able to use it because that's how mass
psychosis. But with all
that said. You cannot dismiss the obvious blatant influence that AIPAC and them,
and let's just be honest, even put Israel aside.
Lindsey Graham, the Wall Street Journal article, Pat, do you remember it?
It was called Lindsey's Quest to Sell Trump on Striking Iran.
It was a huge article where Lindsey's in there, and we know how Trump is.
Trump is an ego alpha, and he's probably, you know what he said to him?
He goes, when I say Roosevelt, what comes to your mind?
Everybody, bro, everybody was selling him on this war.
And when it comes to the J.D. Vance thing, Pat, I'm kind of like whatever with J.D. Vance
because you don't need four.
What were the four?
End the Iran war.
Focus on the cost of living and inflation.
What was the other one?
Put America first.
Change our relationship.
All of those are right there.
You only need one.
No, you only need one.
One.
Put America first.
I don't know why it's at number three.
They're all the same thing.
Exactly.
That alone covers everything.
End the war.
Bring down the cost of living, all that stuff.
But what about everything else?
Like, think about the corruption that's happened that we're seeing.
Even with, what's her name, Alina Haba and all these freaking people.
Lack of answers that you mentioned about the Epstein thing, which to me was huge.
And then we were basically told, shut up, it's old news, move on, which I didn't like about that.
And then going after all these political people.
Ilhan Omar, Pat, you were joking about she's crip-walking.
Are we just forgetting about the brother and this and the investigation and all that stuff?
Billions in fraud.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
And nothing's happening.
So, bro, putting America first was the entire reason this movement existed.
But I do want to say one thing, too, Pat.
Tuesday night, disaster.
Iran war, mistake.
Gas prices, okay.
But I want everybody to understand, don't forget, all you people that are talking at me and coming at me online, I can care less.
If you forget for one second what Donald Trump went through and what he did to get to where he was at, mistakes have been made, okay?
But from the beginning, remember, 99% Hillary's going to win.
He came in, he won, and the moment he won, what happened?
Cuomo, CNN, everybody in the room.
His mother, Russia, Putin, Assad, he fought.
I don't know how he did anything right in those four years, Pat.
Every day, investigation, he still did his job and still had to go against everybody, the whole swamp, all of them.
And despite that, besides COVID, which you guys know my take with China and everything, look at what he did.
Destroyed ISIS.
Unemployment 50-year low.
Appointed three Supreme Justices.
Historical tax cuts.
2020 came and they ruined him.
They impeached him.
They tried to shoot him.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes, he's not perfect.
Yes, we're in bad shape.
The midterms showed whatever.
But don't sleep on what he did and don't forget about what Donald Trump did for this freaking country while everybody was against him.
I want to share this with you.
Great insight, all of you guys going through this.
And all of that saying, hey, it comes down to putting America first.
I'm going to show you this.
Clinton's approval rating, right after the loss I showed you, dropped to 37%, okay?
When he was done on his second term, you know where he was at?
66%.
66%.
Okay.
66%.
66%.
Okay.
Then you go to Obama.
Obama dropped to 38%.
And then when he left office, 60%.
Okay.
So the profile of a guy like Donald Trump in life, how many times do you think he's had
a public humiliating loss?
Trump, many.
I would imagine he's had many and he's come back.
Do you think this ranks in the top 10?
Yes.
Okay.
Where do you put this in the most humiliating loss?
You don't need to qualify it as humiliating, but let's say.
It's devastating.
Yeah.
Where do you put that?
I mean, it's not a top three.
You think it's top three?
I say it's number one.
I don't think it is.
I think 2020 was number one.
Okay.
I think when he lost to Biden, that was the one that kind of, by the way, bankruptcy,
he's about to lose everything.
He's going to go broke.
$900 million he owes to the bank.
He has no clue what to do.
He goes, oh, there's been so many marriages.
First one, second one, all these things that came up, you know, issues, but this is going
to be a top three issue for him on what he went through.
The part that people.
Uh, uh, uh, underestimate when you go through the seven characteristics of somebody that
has what it takes to be a president, what's number four, fearlessness, how they, how they
step back from controversy and what they do with it.
What do you think he's doing?
You think he went to sleep and just relax and kick?
You don't think he has a strategy right now, what he's going to be doing.
You don't think he's going to go back and regroup and come back with different thoughts
and ideas.
He's going to be thinking that how much of this is going to be happening.
You know, what things he can change, what things he can change, who knows some, but,
but you.
You better believe his DNA and his wiring is he's going to come back today.
If you look at the stock market day after election, I think it was, I don't know the
exact number, but let me kind of, uh, uh, Tom, if you look at it yesterday, yesterday
was up, what?
1,400, 1,500, 1,500.
And then that was up again today.
And, and when you think stock market, Tom, why is the sentiment of the stock market up?
Why are people happy about the stock market being up?
So the stock people are happy about the stock market being up.
Cause that means your 401k is your personal investment, your little Robin hood account.
Everybody was in the stock market is okay.
Calamity didn't happen.
Now, what are the markets?
Markets hate uncertainty more than they hate any political party.
They hit uncertainty even more uncertainty is Satan.
The S and P that's the broadest measure of American business.
And it voted with its wallet.
You know what it did, Pat 2% move on day one.
Wasn't noise.
That was institutional money repositioning.
A divided government means less radical policy swings in either direction.
And the markets love it.
The NASDAQ rallied on Wednesday.
It was really, really incredible.
The, the futures were down a little bit today, but the AI chip trade is moving.
Why?
Because Texas and Georgia have Democrat governors that are going to change their position on a data centers, data centers that are getting built, create demand for chips.
So there's a little bit going on there, but the markets love the fact that they can predict gridlock on gridlock.
And by the way, I'm not going to say, I'm not going to say who it was.
Cause I'm not going to call out because I don't particularly like a couple of the reporters on this, but they correctly today is they opened.
Up the pre-market show on one of the business news channels, they were playing talking heads were on the road to know where come on inside.
It's a really old talking head song, but the underlying message was Washington's on the road to nowhere.
They're not going, they're not going to the right.
So guess what?
We can just ride.
And that's, that's what happens.
So, so JD jumps in about, you know, Hey, making sure upon how much of this tweet, you think it is to let the market know?
Yeah.
No, I'm slightly different than Trump.
How much do you think it is?
63 million views.
Huge.
How much do you think this is like lobby and positioning for 2028?
I was going to say more for 2028 than for the market.
No, no, for sure.
But, but for him to kind of identify that, Hey, I'm different than Trump.
I'm not like Trump.
And I was always sort of the back behind the doors opposing the first place.
And this was not my fault.
This was not despite my, but, but I tell you, there's also video clip.
I don't know if we have in a back or not where, you know, JD.
He came up and defended the war against Iran.
I don't know if you remember that clip or not when he was 25, I don't know what it was.
He was one of the first that came up.
Is this it?
Yeah.
Go for it.
Play this clip.
Watch this.
The most important part.
I think of the Trump doctrine and foreign policy is you don't commit America's troops unless you really have to, but when you do, you punch and you punch hard.
I think that's the way that you respect America's brave men and women who are serving.
Now, let me say something about when you say that, does that like, for example, how president Trump beat the caliphate?
Overwhelming force.
And it was done pretty fast.
How president Trump beat the caliphate beat ISIS, which people said literally couldn't be done.
And he did it in a matter of months, but also Iran, Sean, a lot of people recognize that we need to do something with Iran, but not these weak little bombing runs.
If you're going to punch the Iranians, you punch them hard.
And that's what he did.
So this is going to come back.
And what's the exact date on this one out now, JD is coming out saying, I'm not, I'm, you know, I'm different.
I'm this I'm that he has to, he's trying to distance himself, right?
Not distance himself, but just position himself.
In a different place.
DeSantis two days before midterms said what was going to happen on the Stephen, a Smith podcast, then he comes up.
And if you have the clip of what he said afterwards of how bad of a night it was, if he can pull up the Santas, there was a speech he gave.
I don't know the exact words he used, but he said something about it was one of the worst nights in the Republican, you know, party in a hundred years.
Go ahead.
This is the clip, but let's just be clear about what happened last night.
This is close to an extinction level event for Republicans in many parts of the country, as we have seen probably in the last hundred years in January, when everyone in office leaves, who were either term limited or got voted out of the 10 largest States in this union, only one state will have Republican control of their state.
The state of Florida.
If you look at our country.
Our chief rival in a, in a healthy sense, the state of Texas.
And I would say over the last, over my lifetime, Texas has been the crown jewel of Republican politics.
I think we've been the leader.
For Republicans and conservatives since I've been governor, but if you go over the whole generation, no one holds a candle on the Republican side to the lone star state.
And yet not only did they lose a very highly publicized us Senate race.
They lost everything.
The governor attorney general.
Uh, all the other statewide, they lost four Republican Supreme court justices on the Texas Supreme court.
They may even lose the Texas legislature or one house or even both.
Uh, let's just be clear that that is going to hurt, not just for the next two years, that's something that can reverberate for the next decade or more.
And if the Republican party doesn't have Texas as an anchor, uh, then we are not going to be viable nationally going forward.
got J.D. Jumson
immediately.
DeSantis.
You know, and by the way, while we were having a conversation at the wedding,
one of the main topics at the wedding,
can bring up names with people that I talked to, was Donald's can't lose.
And by the way, it got very close.
It was 100,000 votes.
It was a lot closer than it should have been.
Very, very scary.
The main reason why he won is because of Ron DeSantis.
The number one reason why Byron Donald's won is because of Ron DeSantis.
You can say whatever you want.
The main reason, number one reason was Ron DeSantis.
But when Ron is saying this, can you go to the Cal Shee numbers?
What is Cal Shee telling us?
So if you go to Cal Shee right there, pre-election, pre-election,
go to November 1st, November 2nd.
Look where Ron's at.
Vinny, look at this.
On November 2nd, he's at 3.9%.
JD's at 35.
Rubio's at 23.5.
Come to today.
Come to today.
Go all the way to today.
You got to get on it so I can see the numbers.
Ron goes to 18.
Rubio's at 21.
JD drops to 31.9.
He's 6x'd his chances of becoming a president, and he came up.
And a lot of people right now are saying he may even be above those two
because the way they're breaking it down, they're saying,
well, you know, Rubio is tied to Iran.
JD hasn't necessarily built a lot of coalitions.
You know, Ron DeSantis has had a track record as a governor,
executive, running a state for two terms, and he's done a pretty good job.
And guess what?
The guy that came after him also won because of him, which is who?
Byron Donald.
So who do you think, in regard to who now, you know, rises up as a potential 2028 candidate,
who do you see, Tom?
Well, 2028 candidate, I mean, Ron DeSantis just came up in the eyes of so many people.
Republicans everywhere are looking to Florida, and they're even though –
so you know how sometimes, Pat, everybody is like, you know, 140 characters is their news, right?
They don't really pay attention.
Even the most distracted Republican has got to look to Florida and go, wow, you know, governor and senator.
Wow, Florida pulled together.
Maybe the Florida stuff's real.
And what it does is elevates – now, why was this?
Everybody's talked about Ron DeSantis.
Hmm, interesting.
A guy I got to look at.
So that's what you're seeing right here.
You're seeing this big spike here.
I believe that the two guys that jumped up the day, the morning, the minute after this election was done,
and there's still things.
They're still being called, and I think the Dems are going to get to their 241 seats in the House,
is this, Ossoff and DeSantis.
You've got major PACs that are out there, and I've seen things out there.
Big PACs are moving money, and Ossoff and DeSantis were the benefactors.
But DeSantis has leaped in the Republicans, and Ossoff has gone into damn orbit on the Democrat side.
Yeah, if you look at this, go from where Ossoff was at.
No, no, go back a little bit.
Yeah, go back right there.
He's at second place.
He's at second place at 15%, Newsom 69, AOC 14, and then all of a sudden, go to today?
Yeah, he's gone up to 27.
He's suborbital now.
I'm betting on it today.
But these things shift so much in the span of two months, three months, never mind two years.
The thing with DeSantis is last time, he kind of lost steam.
I don't know what it was about his campaign.
Terrible marketing.
Yeah, and so he fixed that.
And by the way, nobody wanted DeSantis in 24.
There's only one person.
People want to try.
They want Trump for redemption.
DeSantis got in.
Well, that was my point.
What I'm saying to you, a lot of people wanted Trump to come in to redeem himself.
To redeem himself.
And DeSantis could have handled it in a different way, but things change.
People change.
Things change.
It's a different season right now.
Go ahead.
That's what I was going to say.
Like, back in the day when we moved down to Florida, everyone was like, you moved to Florida,
but you don't support DeSantis for president.
I'm like, no, it has to be Trump right now because of the history that led to this moment.
It's not DeSantis' time.
He's a great governor, and I think he will make a great potential presidential candidate.
But it wasn't his time then.
It needed to be Trump.
Trump needed to come in and carry out the transformational presidency that he had the opportunity to carry out.
What drives me nuts is that he didn't.
And to go back to what you said earlier about what it means to be a successful man,
you've got to not be afraid of loss, but you've got to learn from it.
And when people are sort of now blaming the people who were raising the criticism
or not learning the lessons, what Trump needs to do is fire the yes-men that were in his circle
that kept him siloed from what the criticism was of the people that handed him this defeat.
And if he doesn't do that, he's going to lose.
If you don't fire them, you might not—
Such as who should he fire?
I would say get rid of Susie Wiles, who seems to be the gatekeeper.
Fire Wiles.
Get rid of Wiles, and I would say get rid of the social media team
that instead of listening to what was going on from the people that elected him,
instead decided to call them all sorts of names and demonize them
and serve them what people knew was coming a year and a half in advance.
So fire Susie Wiles and fire the social media team?
That's your position?
Do you agree with them, Tom?
No, I don't think it's a comms issue.
I love you, dude, but this is not—
You're thinking of it that it's an internal and a communications issue.
It's not.
I think the guy, when the boss starts asking around about you, Hegseth,
and you were 64% approval and you started a war and gas is $4 a gallon,
I'm sorry, that's not communications.
That's a pink slip.
And I think Hegseth is the one that's going to be in the crosshairs,
and I'm not just following what's out here.
I've also seen—we like Pete.
He's been on the podcast.
He wrote a great book.
He wrote a great book, Spirit of the American Soldier and everything.
I like that, but there's things here I think this is the guy that's going to be first.
100%.
When is he going to follow Hegseth?
You think he's going to get fired in the next 30 days?
Can you run a poll real quick?
Do you believe Hegseth will be fired in the next 30 days?
Yes?
No.
And check the calcium markets on that.
I mean, guarantee there's a calcium market on the first two months, I think, Hegseth.
But I'm end of year.
But getting rid of Hegseth is the symptom.
It's the issue is who is making these picks?
Who is keeping Trump in a cycle?
Where he thought that a war with Iran would be popular.
You think that's Suzy Wilde?
I don't think he cared if it was popular.
You guys are misunderstanding.
Trump has been—I have a video from 1987 where Trump is talking about Iran.
And you see him talk about it every 10 years.
And by the way—
Mentioning Karg Island by name.
By name.
Talking about his whole plan.
Talking about taking the petrol and the oil.
This is not new for Trump.
That's what I don't understand why people keep talking about this.
Pulling up a video from 10, 20 years ago is different than the campaign from 2024.
I know where he said no new war.
But if he—Trump is the kind of guy where if he genuinely believed that the threat is there—
And again, as much as we try and say every two weeks, every two weeks, they were saying this every two weeks.
It was the U.N.'s own committee for watchdog for nuclear proliferation that came out with the report.
It was Tulsi Gabbard, who is by no means a war hawk, who came out and said they're getting close.
After—wait, wait.
After she—no, no.
She first said they didn't.
That's right.
And then they went to her and they said, hey, no, no.
Not them.
The U.N. watchdog—
No, I don't believe that.
They confirmed 60 percent proliferation of nuclear material.
They confirmed—
So who's responsible for effing it up, meaning everything that they told them would be easy?
I'm not even pro-Iran war.
I'm saying that—
No, I don't understand that.
But who was in his ear that said, hey, trust me, this is going to be easy, even though you're going to talk about it further?
I know you're going to bring it back.
No, no, no, no.
I'm not bringing it back.
It was—
Who?
Netanyahu.
No, no.
I'm not bringing—I'm not even talking about Netanyahu.
I'm saying who—was it Pete Hexeth that was like, bro?
We're going to bomb them, and it's going to be over quick.
Who—
Who do you think Hexeth said that?
No, I—
That's what I'm trying to say, Pat.
He thinks Netanyahu.
No, but first of all, I won't say who it was, although it's now sort of the leaked secret is that it was Netanyahu saying, yeah, this will be another Venezuela.
And apparently Rubio behind closed doors was saying it's not going to be another Venezuela, but he's surrounded by a bunch of yes-men who said, go ahead and do it.
What does that have to do with Susie Wiles?
Well, I'm saying—
That's the part that I'm questioning your—
No, chief of staff who picks what Trump hears and what gets to him, I mean, I think Susie Wiles is—
He is the gatekeeper, and if I'm wrong about that, the problem is Trump, and it's hard to hear that.
It's who he is and what he wanted to do.
Can I say one—
The part here, the part here is you can point fingers.
Look, in a sports team, if you look at what's going on with the Yankees right now, what is the problem with the Yankees right now?
Nobody's afraid for their jobs.
Yep.
If you're not afraid for your job, you come to work, there's no way I'm—
Every day as an entrepreneur, you have to be afraid of losing your customers.
Every day.
Every day you have to come in and say, what do we need to do?
What do we need to do to keep our clients?
Look what happened to Nike.
Nothing's going to happen.
Colin Kaepernick, $261 billion auto company down to a $50 billion auto company.
Nothing's going to happen with Netflix.
Nothing's going to happen with Disney from a $450 billion auto company to a $200 billion auto company.
I think at the end of the day, if he runs like a boss, the first thing he's going to do is he's going to fire a couple people.
I don't think Susie's going to be one to fire.
She may quit and resign because she had some health issues herself, but I think is Hexet one to put on?
I think it's him.
I think it's the leader.
Everything rises and falls on leadership.
I agree.
We can, you know, when things happen and people say, well, it's Pat's fault.
It's Pat's fault.
Partly I'll say, yeah, I think it is because I'm the leader.
So you got to take the onus as the leader that this is a decision I need to make.
Who that is, I don't know.
I know behind closed doors, he's got to adjust.
Sometimes I'll sit in a room and I'll talk to Tom, okay, and I'll go to our executive team and they'll give an idea to me.
I think we need to do this.
I remember one time we're at a—
I don't know where we are, and I had this executive who was just a pain in the ass for everybody.
For whatever reason, he was causing so much noise, so much pain for everybody, and it was so difficult to get shit done through him.
We're on a trip.
I call a meeting.
I bring everybody upstairs.
Everybody's panicking.
We're not ready to fire this person.
I said, we're firing the guy right now.
Nowhere nice.
He's been with me for 18 months.
We're firing him right now.
Tom, we're all tinkering like, Pat, we need 90 days.
Nope.
You're going to figure it out.
He's getting fired immediately.
ask him to fly back and he's not going to be here we made the decision we moved on and i took the
pressure of it's all going to work itself out and you know what happened tom how quickly did we get
over it really what was interesting is by the end it was a big meeting with a lot of field sales
people together it was a big company summit and by the afternoon of that meeting everybody felt
a lift yeah it was done by the way it took one day for this to happen it's like mentally there
was no drama by 5 p.m i think what needs to happen today i do agree that some people need to get
fired and i don't think there's anybody in the world that is more famous for firing people than
one guy so i do think he's going to readjust who that's going to be who knows in the topic of
israel a lot of times when you win or lose like you're saying well he didn't keep his promises
he didn't do this and he didn't do that and he didn't do this okay last night we're having dinner
me vinnie uh uh steve on his head and even dan was involved in some of the conversations
i said you know the number
one thing above all that we forget about is three years ago we were worried about illegal immigrants
what they were doing fyi you want to know what happened in texas how desantis says i never
thought texas he's taking shots at texas and why is he taking shots at texas he's he's eliminating
desantis is a strategic brilliant guy he knows what he's doing he's eliminating his competitors
one by one by one by one by one he's going through ted cruz is texas okay you got certain things that
he knows ted wants to run as well this guy knows what he's doing right now he's playing the games
of what's going to be taking place but you know one of the data points that you got to give credits
to the democrats this whole antonio gramsci what is it the slow walk through institutions i don't
know the exact phrase of what they use do you know in 1970 what was the white population in texas
in 1970 two percent what do you think that you the white population was in 1970
percent 1970
white population i know you know you can't say anything what do you think i i would guess
maybe 50 60 percent because for a long time texas had a lot of hispanics and legacy mexicans 70 was
89 i was on i was one point off i was one i said 90 by the way percent do you know what it was in
nine in 2000 in 2000 it hits 50 today it's 39 so what happened in texas one by one by you don't
think illegal immigrants are going to be taking shots at texas they're going to be taking shots at
helped them out absolutely let people in let people in let people in let people in and they
were fighting them to kick a hundred percent that's the plot so then i want to show you this
clip so part of what democrats did slowly is they moved people around can you do me if you ever
played that clip the funny clip about people um the guys that move from california so i'm sick
and tired of california we're gonna move to texas watch this clip here it's funny but it makes the
point of exactly what's going on in america today and how the democrats are winning watch this go
forward we voted for a better california it's okay he's just hungry
two hundred dollars i don't feel safe anymore that's it we're moving to texas
watch this
no crime cheap gas we love texas
yeah i mean it's uh not even satire it's a hundred percent accurate
hundred percent i don't feel safe anymore that's it we're moving to florida
where y'all from california we're here to fix florida
uh by the way as funny as that sounds it's true that's what's happening
they said
they got there and they say move all the california people to texas but they still voted on the left
gradually hey open the border let the people in 2.4 million people self-deported but the rest
stuck around what did those people do which side they're going to vote for what are they going to
be doing voting for conservatives no and you don't think when they get supreme court how quickly if
they control supreme court you think they're going to find a way to do amnesty and convert
all of those guys 100 percent how quickly they're going to do it well there's a lot of things by the
way you're talking about texas uh hinojosa who is uh governor-elect the first thing she's going to do
is they created a business court in texas in advance of all of the business policies that
they brought there and in advance of the texas stock exchange you're trying to build so now on
the business court she gets to a point i believe the number is four judges so now all of those pro
business policies that were brought to texas guess what she's going to do that second she's changing
data center regulations and she's rolling back some of the benefits they were given to put in
she's promised to do it i'm rolling back some of the data center favoritism so get ready that is
already what she said so when she says what she's going to do believer that's where she's going wait
wait i got i got a little pushback on the whole thing of like the immigration if you look these
people who are are coming in are historically very religious they're catholic they hold traditional
values they are very pro-left at the moment because they feel like that's their pathway
to citizenship but once they're here
over time they may eventually become red-leaning i know that's a weird take but i actually believe
there's a potential for that entire thing to backfire it's a potential but they'll never
forget who this is this is how it works in the interim if i get them for 20 years that's going
to vote for me i'm 40 years they flip to conservative in the interim for 20 years if i
can use them to control the supreme court then make puerto rico and and uh what is the other
place into a state where i can dc dc puerto rico into a state then i can flip i don't know
how last night you know what the guy was talking about i think we need to eliminate and you know
electoral college and we need to go first thing is yeah they always talk about going no what i'm
saying to you is they're going to do it they're going to do it they're going to do it so now
winners and losers biggest winners and losers of what happened what would you say i'll come to you
first i was gonna say humorously joe rogan might be one of the biggest losers now that he's seeing
basically california come to texas and turn texas into what he fled from california and i hope he
watched that i mean you know and i'm not not a dig but like you know he he changes sort of the
support for trump and doesn't appreciate that austin will become the next los angeles you know
in within less than a generation funny thing about florida have you been there recently i've been to
austin a couple during the alex jones trial i went to a walmart i saw someone taking a dump in the
stall i'm there with my kid i'm like we're not getting food here we're getting the hell out of
here we're going to go find a store out in the outskirts where people are i say armed and and
protecting us but no it was the other one
you know it was it was austin was terrible it was it was actually worse than i could have possibly
dreamed some beautiful spots and then we get into the boroughs and it's beautiful but jokes aside
and hope rogan you know is paying attention uh the biggest winner i think is desantis second
biggest winner is i think jd vance jd i've always liked jd and i've always liked desantis but i
supported trump over desantis and you know if it's jd versus desantis in 2028 for the primaries
it'll be a good choice uh but obviously when when when uh desantis comes out and reminds everybody
why he wants to be a president and why he wants to be a president and why he wants to be a president
was a viable candidate in 2024 because he was the best governor of florida uh that's that speech
that he gave is the slap in the face to the gop and the trump administration that they need to say
you can't ignore the devastating results and you have to winners and losers but um well
make your list be ready even though it was a win even though it was a win desantis to me that that
cockiness from a 48.7 to a 50 how like he's making it seem like like in horse racing like
10 horse lengths that was by a nose so to have that attitude you know you feel me like hey we did
it you almost lost but moody won by by 1.2 like what are you what's all this cockiness we almost
lost florida as well people were were panicking and i think one of the biggest that losers for
republicans was in alabama alabama the most conservative place they voted in a democrat
transgender who beat the president in the first place and they voted in a democrat transgender
who beat the president in the first place and they voted in a democrat transgender who beat the
incumbent republican and it was um democrat allison montgomery beat philip rigsby you want to
talk about a freaking loss embarrassing to me that was it that right there showed you how bad
the republicans lost the biggest winners i got a bunch of them elon musk is a big loser massive
he's a big big one i think oddly enough this is gonna re-vindicate the guys like tucker carlson
he's come out and been posting about i've seen some uh some videos of uh
uh people talking about how he was right all along this is going to empower his kind of branch
of the new right i do think the extremist leftist i think this is a death blow to any centrist leftist
and i've been seeing a lot of rhetoric again just anecdotally on instagram you're gonna see
uh so like guys like the abdul el saeed's this video i'm posting here uh that i sent this guy's
very very extreme but again i saw video after video after video like this these are getting
hundreds of thousands of likes uh if you want to watch it he just what does he say he's just a total
talking about you centrist uh liberals are done maga's dead now we're coming for you for the
democrats who just took power you're gonna meet our fucking demands or we're gonna ruin your
entire life we're going to ruin your fucking political careers maga no longer exists maga is
no longer a fucking threat what is a threat are you centrist corporate democrat shills with your
ironclad support of israel with your ironclad support of capitalism with your ironclad support
of imperialism and your belief that the u.s military can do no wrong
there's a couple of things you're gonna have to do otherwise all of the aggression you have seen
for the past fucking six years poured at maga it's all coming to you you're going to advocate
to decouple us from israel
entirely we shouldn't be sending them a single fucking dollar let that disgusting repugnant
genocidal nation collapse i don't give a fuck what happens to a single person there let them
deal with it their fucking problem you're going to stop sending our money over there you're going
to give us universal health care you're going to surrender to the iranians do you understand that
you're not doing we're going to give you congressional approval i think that's enough
but the whole point the whole point is you may find that extreme you'd be surprised how many
people on the left are within the spectrum of believing this rhetoric is okay that's the
yeah the problem i'm the guy the guy that was going after elon but i know we'll get into that
winners and losers tom because winners and losers so i'm going to go to business since
everybody's going there but um and that last clip why rachel maddow looks different
um so winners anything that's rate sensitive uh you've got like health care uh home builders
clean energy things like that i think are going to be winners in the near term losers is going
to be winners in the near term and i think that's going to be winners in the near term
it's going to be ai infrastructure and defense it's about you're going to see it on the stock
market it's going to move a little bit i think the consumer will be a near-term winner and i think
next year uh there will be a little bit of win because there's one there's one person that seems
to get it and i saw an interview with him and that's jeffries i'm not a fan of jeffries but
jeffries openly said if we go on a rampage these next two years and we don't truly move economic
things and take credit for it
we're in trouble so hakeem jeffries in that moment i was like dude you're absolutely right but i don't
think i think dude he's going to be fighting people like this guy that was just screaming
hundred percent to get there and i and i think that basically this guy would be screaming and
saying you're one of them hakeem so that that's where i think that so i think the consumer will
be a near-term winner we've already talked about musk and others that i think are losers at the
moment but i i also i'll tell you you know what it's going to sound weird but it's my take pat
i think
that ultimately we're going to look back and i'm not spinning here every time there's a moment like
this that happens the true believers there's that there's a gold gets purified in the fire
and i think ultimately this is going to rise up people who are true believers
true is that how you ended it no i think so i think i think it's going to bring up like that
we'll see so for me here's what i got biggest winners and losers musk even joked about he put
458 million dollars
and didn't move in nothing so that means pax the power of just going and winning elections with
money nothing it's not going to happen trump's endorsement big loser just because you're
endorsing doesn't mean it carries the weight that it did a few years ago yeah that's a big loser
next putting just any candidate like a you know paxton first time i spoke to him i'm like
i was waiting for me to sell issues zero issues sold whatsoever at all there was no issues being
sold like this is not a marketable guy so these these vanilla characters that came up to run
just because they're an ag or just because they've been around big losers the vanilla guys apac big
loser israel big loser this was not a election that was good for israel their big loser they got
their asses handed to them next winners desantis winner muslims big winners huge big winners record
breaking first senator ever as a muslim to go out there and win and by the way when they go in they
stick they have a high chance of winning they're going to win they're going to win they're going to
get a job they don't leave these are not people once they get in they leave they stay in their
positions for a while cal she big winner zelinski big winner irgc big winner hominy tweets this out
if you want to pull up the hominy tweet here's what hominy had to say in a tweet about america
if you guys want to pull it up i send it to you i know you have it uh right here says today the
declining power and hegemony of the united states has suffered an irreversible fall in both dimensions
of its power its hard military
power and its international soft power now whether he tweeted this or not nobody knows
some people are saying his handler tweeted it some people are saying other people tweet
no one's even seen him even the president of iran hasn't even seen he says he did
but he was taken to a place but you know irgc won this was a very big opportunity for them to kind
of be able to celebrate and say hey look at this so now what trump's going to do the next 60 day
nobody knows i can tell you what scott galloway said here's what scott galloway said about trump
no scott galloway said about elon musk and a lot of people are saying wait a minute this is a fairly a
reasonable guy successful made money got a good podcast we've had him on
look what he said about elon musk just yesterday we have begun believing through this ridiculous
unhealthy and dangerous idolatry of innovators that they get to live by an entirely different
standard elon musk is a traitor to the west we lined up the rosenbergs against a wall
this is a traitor to the west and he should be held to the same standards as every other
traitor getting a room full of applause this is the new rhetoric of the left so what did he just
say he he just said he's a traitor and we should do with him what we did to the rose whatever want
nuremberg put him against the wall phrasing he said pat let's not mince words he said innuendo
whatever you want to call it put them on the wall put him on the wall and basically treat him the
same way that he did julius and
ethel rosenberg and assess and shoot them dead can you can you appreciate the army that he talks
about idolatry of innovators while he's sitting on a white leather couch in front of a crowd
in a fancy setting like he is but he'll end up on the wall as well because the revolution devours
its own and he's no safer than the people he's calling for we're entering an age of extremism
by the way in terms of the rhetoric that's being acceptable they shot trump in the freaking head
they murdered charlie in front of everybody and this is i'm telling you guys this is the type of
people don't understand it takes one idiot viva one idiot to hear that and be like you know what
he's right and we have hundreds of millions of them here that well it's it's the bill burr like
you know the luigi bangioni not understanding yeah he will be the millionaire billionaire
that's the enemy of the people if i may just go back to the uh homini's uh tweet and not to
disagree with homini but there's there's a difference between a collapse and a contraction
and some people might say you know the roman empire might have done some good to contract
for it collapse because you spread yourself too thin and that's how you lead to the collapse of
the roman empire a contraction of the u.s put it in quotes empire might not be a bad thing it might
actually be describing in a different way what america first is saying don't waste this money
this time overseas in middle eastern countries with bases across the world contract a little
bit focus on home set up good defenses protect your own first and but you really think that's
what it all boils down to an isolationist argument because for me listen here i would love to have an
honest conversation if i could theoretically with every american person say what would it take
what would it take would it take us pulling out of iran completely would it take us giving no more
money at all to israel for some reason no one cares about the billions we give to jordan and
egypt because if that's what it takes hallelujah i think that's an easy fix let's decouple let's do
everything you're saying it's not going to solve the problems within the country i don't believe
it will i i well i think you could you could err on the side of trying it's like rfk jr said when
he ran when he initially ran you know a nation at war abroad will never be at peace at home and
it makes total sense the issue is what's the solution i mean what's the solution to this
what's your goal imagine okay so let's just say theoretically imagine we do that and imagine there
is a nuclear iran a nuclear saudi arabia there's a nuclear north there's a nuclear fundamentally
different as someone whose own family escaped iraq there is a fundamental difference between
a country that has self-preservation which has a desire for expansion versus one that is based on
religious extremist ideology they are fundamentally you have ayatollahs going up and praying to the
12th imam for the upcoming armageddon and this is how they want to achieve it it is a different i'm
not scared
of north korea as much as are you scared of pakistan and india having nuclear bombs
why haven't they done that because that's a stalemate wait wait wait pakistan and india
aren't doing things like in the rest of the world they have a stalemate together which is basically
kept it that way i mean that's the whole that's the whole foundation of of what nuclear proliferation
stopped was mutually assured destruction mutually assured destruction caused people to say i got
six you got seven but we're both dead and so all of a sudden everybody kind of
backs up a little bit and is calm that's india pakistan so viva on that one and i know you know
this you're more versed no no but he's asking why would that not happen between israel and iran well
what i'm saying is it would create a explosion of every country for that desire for self-preservation
to develop nuclear weapons do you want a nuclear saudi arabia with do you want the potential of
wahhabi sunni salafis having nuclear weapons no but i guess the first question is this was
not an argument for a nuclear iran this was an argument for gauging and reassessing foreign policy
to achieve certain results and then the question is going to be also is what was done now going to
deter iran and a future other country from having nuclear aspirations or enhance it um let me ask
this question from you let me ask this so we're giving 3.8 billion dollars to israel every year
that's the number that we keep hearing about right okay and and we spend i don't know a billion
dollars on snap a trillion dollars on snap on entitlement food entitlement all these other
things that we give away but let's just say we don't do anything with israel we leave them alone
okay and let's say we get iran to have a nuclear weapon let's leave them alone
what do you think long-term happens between iran and israel we don't get involved at all between
those two what do you think happens long term i mean it's it's impossible to project it's
impossible to nobody that's that's your job though you're supposed to do that you make the
decisions you make is based on what you think is going to happen long term you buy life insurance
because god forbid if something happens to you your family has to pay probate taxes and have
different issues that's going to come up and so you buy a life you can't say it's impossible for
me to say what age i'm going to die so i'm not going to buy life insurance policy no you're a
it looks like if it was you you're thinking if the
3.8 billion stops everything in america is going to be fixed yeah well no no first of all i mean
the 3.8 billion in israel and we're all concede that the point is there's an overemphasis on
israel is you had 400 billion to ukraine the issue is that you had people objecting to the
aid to ukraine as well the criticism israel ukraine gets is the same as the israel no i mean
there is no way we sit there and criticize ukraine at the same level that israel can well
no i might i might disagree with that just temporally two years ago the criticism of
the criticism of the aid to ukraine the criticism of neglecting domestic issues to fund a proxy war
against russia diamond all these guys were the ukraine and the u.s flag and they give money
gladly to that area left and the right no well but i think left and the right go back and ask
the question you're the president if you're the president funding to israel stops overnight yes
is that fair to say yes now because now the blowback is so severe because of what's been
done over the last argument that is a fair argument for me sorry now it's like the overreaction is
okay well had we gauged
things differently had marco rubio not come out and said yeah we struck iran because israel was
going to do it anyhow you don't put yourself in a position where you have to take a radical
redirection to say to appease the people have now had enough of this ostensible foreign nation
dictating domestic policy asking a very valid question he's asking everything you want if it
stops does it stop the problems in america well oddly enough i don't i think cutting four billion
in foreign in in military aid to israel i don't think it'll change a thing because they'll figure
out a way to either get the arms that they need from another nation or get the
aid from another nation or they'll do it themselves but so so then that doesn't solve the problem of
the frustration towards israel right there's certainly but that's because it's it's it's
different frustrations and it's ones that there's a difference between aid to a foreign country and
what is perceptibly that foreign country's influence in your national and international
policy it was actually the issue why do we not hear about qatar foreign influence i think we do
i don't think anybody you think they're on the first of all qatar outspends israel i agree
education i agree across the board and proportionally how much do you think they're going to spend on
how much do we hear about qatar versus israel well it depends who you listen to i mean i i hear a fair
bit of both and i do say you can go dollar for dollar you've got your ear down on that stuff i
think he makes a really good point we don't hear about qatar and if you to the chart up here about
where qatar is investing in american colleges and things think tanks and stuff it's significant but
it's not out there in the popular view you and i are down in the weeds of a lot of things we have
our fingers on a lot of pulses but to your point you don't hear about well okay perhaps playing
devil's advocate one of the reasons is you don't see qatari officials giving speeches
in front of congress you do see them buying the no but hold on you don't see qatari leaders in in
congress giving speeches to our government oh sure that's it that but that alone so whether or not
the dollar figure is 10 to 1 versus again they buy the brands might be 10 to 1 350 million dollar
new air force one plane they uh help fund uh military bases to train their pilots in the
united states they put billions of dollars we all agree with that but if you were to see if you were
a hundred percent agree with you and i'm at the point i really mean this where i think it is best
for the country to take a step away from israel i don't think it'll change anything but i think
there as i said earlier is a mass psychosis where every single grievance is now being blamed so
let's take it out of the out of the equation but you say mass psychosis to undermine the legitimate
criticism and not because but hold on bottom line if you were to ever see a qatari official
go in front of congress and basically give a speech to congress you would expect outrage
and it would come from everyone and it would be universal i
actually don't think so i think the fundamental relationship with israel and and if you look at
the the nature of the relationship it is not so controversial that they've done that uh and again
i think there is legitimate criticism of israel that can be made when that criticism becomes a
grievance point to be the solution to all our problems and we stop people from voting because
that's all they want to talk about and a vote becomes an israel first vote then that becomes
the doorway the trojan horse for what we see today so again i am okay with no
long i was very happy when i saw that trump put that out that said i'm not going to fund israel
anymore i think that rhetoric has to push back it's not going to even appease these people that's
my nothing will appease them i i think it's the consequence what do you think what do you think
i mean i'm just i said it on the midterms i'm just tired i'm sick and tired of every time our
politics comes up i have to hear israel and bb nanyal i'm not saying about just that's how much
there it's just influence and i'm just over it i'm tired of it are they in israel i'm just tired
of hearing israel and bb nanyal i'm just tired of hearing israel and bb nanyal i'm just tired of
hearing israel and bb nanyal i'm just tired of hearing it pat i want are they in israel talking
about us like that you know it's not you know why it's not going away because my opinion is i'm just
tired so let me ask you play the devil think think like the enemy go think like the enemy
if you were the enemy and you were thinking about how to fracture the republican party that
dominated 2024 everybody thought it was going to be a 20-year run oh my god trump this many years
then it's going to be jd then it's going to be rubio for 20 years remember that whole thing
and they saw that opera if you were going to find a way to destroy the republican party think like
the devil how would you do i mean that would be one of them what would be one that would be one
of them was the whole israel islamist qatar money how do you divide america how would you do it i
mean islamist and like that you you would just constantly bring up our relationship with them
and say look at what they're doing and look at what they're doing and then just harp on that
that's all all the all the el sayads and all them media campaigns when there's when there's
islamism in italy and in france
oh don't look at that it's secret charlie kirk assassinated by radical actors don't look at that
it's secretly israel you have uh abdul el saeed supporting the muslim family families oh yeah
and then what do they bring it up israel campaign comes up saying you can't pay for your groceries
because of israel it's a district but hold on hold on a second who did if to the extent somebody did
not look into the assassination of charlie kirk who didn't look into it what do you mean who did
what do you say don't look into it it's israel i mean there's only a small idiotic faction saying
it's israel and i don't place much value in their opinions millions of people will say it's israel
watch candace owens and you can see that that is that you may say they're inconsequential but
when they are psyop to that extent they do vote but but then i mean then there's going to be a
bit of blame here who then didn't go into a sufficient investigation into the charlie kirk
to satisfy or quell those conspiracy theories what are you talking about the the investigations
were not adequate in your opinion into charlie a thousand percent they were not adequate so we
fundamentally disagree well but this you go go back to patrick's question about you know what
would you do if you were the devil
to sabotage trump you'd trick him into going to war with iran period and now whether or not that's
democrats whether or not that's a deep state apparatus that trump didn't you know drain from
the swamp that duped him into going to war with iran knowing whether or not that's the singular
issue it's certainly the one that we agreed all the other ones broke the straw no but it leads
into everything else they couldn't say why'd you go to war with israel iran well it's for israel
it might not have been for israel it might have been a sincerely held belief but if you wanted to
end what would have been 20 years of republican fixing this country
uh trump into going to war with israel iran and everyone knows the conspiracy theories and
legitimate theories that are going to fall from do you think americans would be more forgiving
of trump if they truly believed he went into iran because he truly fundamentally believed that they
are a nuclear threat and a definitive threat to the united states or do you think the connection
to israel and do you think the the like i said previously you're a witch you're israel first
same it's the automatic solution and there is no no thing you can say back that can disprove it
there is no level it isn't it's
an unfalsifiable theory a lot of these things are and it's also the absence of the evidence is the
evidence which makes them unfalsifiable uh but if trump legitimately believed it i think a lot of us
did sincerely believe that with operation midnight hammer and then we're told it's obliterated and
then i agree fully six months later you have you six months later you're going back in and you have
marco rubio apparently saying the quiet part out loud and then you want to blame people for
thinking israel's involved i'm not it's not a witch hunt it's not a it's not psychosis anymore
obviously israel has its interests that's why i'm saying it's good if we do it's good if we do it's
it has its interest it has its influence as did zielinski and as did ukraine and people were saying
enough is enough 400 billion to a foreign country as does qatar as do numerous other countries
in a tremendous way on a much deeper level by the way if you look at the amount of but but
people are vocally critical of the activism the leftist marxist activism on campuses as well so
it's not like nobody's complaining about that either sure you see people actively i'm a good
again i can complain about five things at once it's all proportion you can and i yeah i agree
with you there nothing is mutually exclusive
a couple couple things to get into right now is scott scott uh jennings comes up after vivek
and you know we talk about scott galloway going after uh elon saying hey you know you gotta
uh uh do to him what we did with others here's what scott jennings had to say about vivek after
midterms watch this and there's a few candidates out there that should be singled out paxton was
a huge mistake vivek ramaswamy so twice now he seems to have misunderstood the object of politics
which is to make politics a problem and to make politics a problem and to make politics a problem
people to like you and not be a human repellent and that is what he has done in ohio and i think
it hurts everybody else over there i think it hurts john husted there's something to be said
for just trying to be basically nice and basically approachable and that ad that they ran is going to
go down as one of the dumbest strategic blunders at a time when you could ill afford it because of
the environment what do you think about that when i saw the ad it you know i rubbed me very much the
wrong way i uh i somewhat agree with you think it's just the ad no no he said a couple of stupid
things but the ad didn't help and then the doubling down doesn't help i mean it's an amazing
thing people in politics are afraid to apologize because they think it's going to be used against
them apologizing admitting everything all you would have had to say by the way is oh my goodness
i didn't know the extent of the of the abuse with mother i would never have done this otherwise that
would have been the easiest fix we screwed up it was a disgusting ad we didn't know what it
actually was tom what do you think it is better to be thought of as an elitist
technocrat
technologist open your mouth and remove all doubt um that's exactly what
But Vivek did. And I like Vivek. I'll tell people here, you know, I'm not I'm not a homer for Vivek, you know, in the sports side.
I respect him. I respect what he's accomplished. He's very gracious to my daughter when he was here, gave her a lot of encouragement.
But in terms of running a campaign that's different and whatever his advice was and whatever the decision, well, those were ill-advised statements that that caused people to frame you as a, hey, you're this elitist snob that came in here.
And then what happened was that's the framing they were throwing at him. Oh, you're a you're a left coast Republican technologist.
You don't understand the common man of manufacturing here in Ohio.
And that that framing.
That framing was not not correct and not fair. I think he was broader than that.
But then he makes two comments early, Pat, that gets the ball rolling and then another comment late.
And it's just like, wait a minute. Yeah, that was just and then I'm leaving out the ad.
I'm just talking about him responding to things. And then when you put the ad on top of it, it's like, wow, that's a poorly run campaign.
And if you have a poor quarter as a CEO, the stock is down and you get an article criticizing you in The Wall Street Journal and he's getting criticized.
And then you get a lot of criticism from people like Scott Jennings that understand the political arena. I hate the fact that this ended this way. I really hate the fact.
And because we had how many times you have on the podcast and we've been around. Awesome, awesome human being. I respect the hell out of him.
But it was December 26, the day after Christmas 2024, when he said, and I quote, our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long.
OK. And he also argued that American culture celebrates the prom queen over the math Olympia champion.
You know, the.
Jock over the valedictorian. And he made the comments and he defended tech companies hiring H1B foreign workers.
I'm sorry. That's taking a gun and shooting yourself right in the foot two years ago.
And we knew it. And we kind of called it's like you can't be.
But this is the United States of America. We're brown. We're brown. We're brown.
We're brown. You don't be. You can't be brown and say stuff like that to the Americans.
And you feel me, Tom? Because, you know, they're going to do that. I'm like, oh, that's the guy you want my vote.
Nope. And, you know, that's only that is only two inches away from the right statement.
For too long, we have been looking at other people and looking at ways and praising folks.
We should be praising our kids and giving them the educational opportunities.
These should be our kids that are starting up these tech companies.
We should be doing. It's just two inches away. And he didn't.
And I remember exactly where I was during that H1B debate over Christmas.
I was at my parents cottage. And I remember Elon Musk was getting thrown into.
And I was like, I'm going to do it as well. And you should learn from those mistakes, not repeat them and double down.
When it came to the ad, just one last thing. Having a basic sense of morality also doesn't hurt.
When Mary Trump came out and, you know, railed against Trump, it was wrong. It was disgusting.
When RFK Jr.'s family came out and disavowed him, it's disgusting.
You don't even in politics, you don't pit family against family.
And if you just err on the side of morality, you didn't need that ad to win.
And all it could do is hurt. And then you didn't apologize afterwards.
You think he could have won without the ad? Oh, yeah.
Because he got a lot closer. You think without the ad, he would have won?
Yes.
Look at the result. And we covered it on at the end of the night.
Remember, we went to it with all these big victories that were happening.
Ossoff, holy crap, look at the size of that victory.
We went to Ohio and I said, look how close this is.
This is closer than they thought it was going to be.
Look at this. 400,000, actually 370,000 votes as the end came in.
This should have been, by the tonality and everything you saw, a 12-point victory.
It wasn't.
He would have won this had it been run differently.
Without the ad.
I tell you, without the ad and with a message of, you know,
enable the American citizen, the American student with education and the things that are here,
enable them. And if he had done that and the ad.
Do you think he's going away?
I don't think he's going away, but he's got to pick his shot where he's going to go.
Yeah, and I think he has to work on his messaging.
I think the entire Republican Party has to work on their messaging.
They became complacent.
They thought a Trump endorsement would win.
How? How would they be that daft?
Because Trump thought that a Trump endorsement in a closed Republican primary would carry the same weight that it did in an open election.
I mean, it was bad strategy, again, by the people keeping him in a silo.
And all they had to do with Amy Acton?
Remind everyone what a COVID tyrant she was.
That she was a celebrity in her own mind.
Holy crap, I went back and pulled up clips from her during COVID.
That would have been the play.
She was a nut bag.
I saw that would have been the play.
Yeah, well, I think a part of the problem when you're very, very smart and intellectual.
This guy was a valedictorian.
He's a brilliant guy.
He's more smart than 99% of the opponents that he's going up against.
But sometimes your strength could be a double-edged sword if you don't know how to speak to people or you don't make them feel dumb.
Sometimes you can be extremely smart and talk down at people and you don't know you're doing that.
Or you think people are beneath you.
And at the beginning, he was able to hide that a little bit.
But eventually, it became too much like, listen, do you know how smart I am?
And it came a little too much like that.
You know who else has a little bit of that?
Newsom has a little bit.
Oh, yeah, big time.
Where it's a little bit condescending.
And the condescending score kept getting higher and higher and higher.
And you have to be able to hide that a little bit if it's natural.
For some people, you've got to hide it.
And you have to be able to. Drop the message in a way where the average person gets it, not above their heads.
A couple of guys don't know how to do that properly.
And last but not least, quite frankly, you know, likability is super important.
Jennings is right.
Likability is super, super important when you're running for office.
And he rubbed some people the wrong way.
I've got a couple of stories that just came out.
Tom, did you just see what the stock market just did, NASDAQ?
NASDAQ just dropped 3.5%.
I don't know if you saw that or not.
NASDAQ literally just dropped. I think it's now dropped maybe even 4.2%.
So that was down 1.5%.
NASDAQ is down 4.2%.
And it's tech driving everything down.
Tech driving.
There's tech driving a lot of it.
Neutral center market, tech way down.
Yeah, major sell-off.
You have, from the reports that came up last week,
with Intel plunge approximately 29% after disappointing investors with its outlook.
Reddit fell.
Reddit fell roughly 29.2%.
Following concerns about their search traffic and growth.
And Amazon also declined amid concerns about spending and free cash flow.
But as of right now, the Dow was down 4.25.
And NASDAQ. I'm sorry.
NASDAQ is down 4.25.
Dow was down 1.51.
And the S&P is down 2.71.
Why do you think?
I could not venture a guess into that.
I just got distracted because Russell Brand just got convicted of rape.
Wow.
Yes.
Russell Brand got convicted of rape?
Russell Brand was found guilty.
I'll read it.
He's been taken into custody.
Russell Brand was found guilty in London of one count of rape
and three counts of sexual assault involving four women.
The offenses occurred between 2004 and 2009.
He was acquitted of two other rape charges and one attempted indecent assault charge.
Brand denied all charges and maintained that he never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity.
He was taken into custody immediately after the verdict.
And the judge said this, Pat.
He faces a significant prison sentence and the sentencing scheduled for Monday. Monday, November 9th.
Like, it's not good.
Four counts?
Four counts.
That's. Wow.
It was just dropped right now?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't mean to distract.
I just saw it on the side banner when you were up looking at the market.
In the U.S., there's all these sentencing hearings and you can make a. You can make a. Appeal.
A motion regarding certain things as sentencing.
In the British courts here, you're taken into custody today.
He's effectively in prison now.
And then he'll be formally in, what, four days?
Yeah.
Sentenced.
So, he's. Russell Brand is incarcerated.
He's incarcerated.
They're sent. To the extent they're sentencing people to, like, 30 months in jail for social media posts.
Yeah, imagine what they're going to do where it's saying one. Yeah, this is not good.
This is not. It's. I mean. Boy.
Well, in the Muslim courts over there, normally he would have been granted the mayorship of
Shepenshire.
Also, just to change the subject back to. Pat, going back to this one thing.
IQ in life is very important.
I would be curious to know if EQ is just as important, if not more important.
Arguably more important.
Emotional quotient in terms of how you deal with people can dictate a lot.
Your intelligence is great, but if nobody likes you, nobody listens to you.
In politics, it's. I can't. By the way, was it. I didn't see if it was unanimous, because in the UK, you only need 10 of the 12 jury
members to the final.
What do you think is going to happen to him?
How long do you think he's going to be going away?
A long effing time.
You think so?
Yeah.
I mean, I made the joke he should have gotten on a plane and moved with his family to Russia
with a country with no extradition treaty to the UK, because it's bad.
And I was listening to this.
Like, the one. I presume it's the one with the anal. Rape side.
Sorry to get graphic.
That he was found guilty on.
I'll double check later, but the story sounds terrible.
I mean, and by his own admissions and his own memoir, my book he wrote back in the day,
like, I said they were going to read from it.
They read from it to him on the stand.
Oh, it's not. Why did he. I didn't follow up with. He said he basically considered orgasm his birthright, and that he, you know, he acknowledges
sexually exploiting people due to his stardom.
Now, that does not mean rape in most countries, but the UK is not most countries, and it's
not a normal country at this point.
Which book. It was called My Bookie Book.
It was basically his memoirs of how he was a sex addict, drug addict, and came to Jesus,
literally.
And, you know, then he wrote a book on 12 Steps, which I also. And you didn't mention. You saw the clip where he's on a. interviewer or a podcast, maybe Connor, you guys in the back can find it, where he was
saying he was in his 30s and he slept with someone that was 16, allegedly.
That was with Megyn Kelly.
Yeah, with Megyn Kelly, which he said, he's like, well, I didn't, you know, I thought
that that was normal.
It's like, bro, this is, I'm trying to figure out.
He's actually incriminating himself on camera.
His book was all you needed to read to him in cross-examination, which I said they do.
It was the legal age of consent where he did it at the time.
It's 16 in the UK, so it was not illegal, but it's not a good look.
He could say, face several years to more than 10 years in prison, rape carries a maximum
sentence of life in England.
And there's four counts, four counts.
One rape, three sexual assaults.
This is in UK?
Yeah.
So what happened to all the Pakistani Muslims?
You know exactly what I was going to ask you.
Hold on, because that's racist.
That's racist.
But that he's a white guy and he did it, he's going to be in there for life.
He should have known better.
The other one was, you know, part of the culture.
Hold on.
He should hide the Bible.
Convert to.
Islam and tell them, hey, you guys are racist for freaking saying that I raped him.
Change his name to Abdul Muhammad.
Yeah, Abdul.
Did you guys see that, by the way, when he changed?
I was going to say, well, there was a clip of him saying, I'm not running to be a Muslim
senator.
I'm running for senator.
It happened to be Muslim.
And then he gets up there.
Habibi, now he turned into a hole.
Now the mask is off.
My name is Abdul Muhammad.
There it is right here.
This is it.
This is called that when you let them in, this is it.
Well, I mean, the joke is it's the concept.
I think it's Takiyah.
You're allowed to be deceitful.
Well, this is the mask coming off.
Can you play it?
Like, look at this, guys.
Look at this.
Remember, I don't care about.
I'm just trying to be the senator.
Watch this.
Ready?
My name.
Yeah, there it is.
Is Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Sayyid.
Here we go.
There we go, baby.
We made it.
Go to the end because he goes insala with another.
Let it keep going.
To stand here as your senator elect from the great state of Michigan.
He's charming.
He's charismatic.
Oh, yeah, he's a very one Sharia law.
Let's go, baby style.
We say inshallah or God willing, whenever the outcome of this race was mentioned.
But today, tonight, we can turn that inshallah into a Muslim Obama.
You mean Obama?
You already know he's Muslim to highlight going back to some of your points earlier, like it's not a double standard.
But people, if someone had gotten up there with pay us in a keeper and gets up to say, my name is now Moshe Mordechai.
And by the time you would have, people would be outraged.
Yes, this is on both sides.
And understandably so.
I don't think I don't think this is America.
And you want to come to a country.
You abide by it and live by its own principles and morality.
And dual citizens should not be able to run for office.
I do think that foreigners who even get naturalized should not be allowed to run for elected office or government.
But like, no, this this is this is in your story.
Just drop right now.
Breaking news.
Marco Rubio is on the resignation watch.
Sources say he's preparing to quit as secretary of state to launch a 2028 presidential bid, wanting to distance himself from Trump and the Iran war.
He's perhaps the leading Republican candidate right now.
Head of J.D. Vance and Ron DeSantis.
Vance moved fast after the midterms publicly blaming the Iran war on the losses.
Rubio has him behind the scenes.
He's been notably quiet on Iran for months, up to five cabinet members.
Are reportedly preparing to exit the administration.
Oh, boy.
This is going to backfire.
This is from the independent source.
The independent Mario Nafal just tweeted this.
Just so you know that.
And so, well, I'm not a smart move.
No.
Why do you think it's not a smart move?
Because I think that on some fundamental level, Americans do appreciate some degree of like stick it out, have some loyalty and stay active.
Oh, flip side to that.
If he knew it was wrong and stayed silent.
Yeah, he's a coward.
What the hell?
It's a bad look that now that there's backlash, all of a sudden you're jumping ship.
Plus, he was, first of all, whether or not he objected behind closed doors and you have to stick with the administration.
No, no, no.
His cowardice and his silence led to this problem.
He doesn't come out and say, behind closed doors, I was totally against it.
And now.
It's a bad look.
You know why he can't say that?
Because, bro, they're going to play the tape that you just talked about where he goes, listen, the reason we struck first is because they were going to go.
So we did it to support our interests.
That's ridiculous.
But could we really quick go back to El Sayed and showing like his.
I'm not.
I'm being.
Genuine.
I swear to you, when they asked him about the ties about his family, I guarantee that if he came out and said, yeah, my family was in it.
And you know what?
I kind of like them, too.
They he still would have won.
A hundred percent.
I'm being dead serious.
And we talked about this before the podcast.
And I want your guys's opinion.
Sixty percent of Jewish people in Michigan voted for that guy.
Please.
And you explained to me that it was the older Jewish people, which I would think they would have more of a history or a mentality of what.
You're up against why.
Why would 60 percent of Jewish people vote for Abdul?
And it's the weirdest phenomenon in the world that Jews consistently voted because because those Jews have a much higher loyalty to secularism than they do to their religion or to their right.
Well, I mean, look, this will be mildly politically incorrect.
But one of the tropes and stereotypes and explanations as to why Jews were chased out of one hundred and thirty eight countries is their progressivism leads to the downfall of those countries.
This is progressive suicidal progressivism.
That's what I said.
I said I meant progressivism.
Yeah, it's a hundred percent a trend amongst especially Ashkenazi Jews.
Well, it's a Gadsad would call it suicidal empathy.
But speaking of things that are just come in, I saw Secretary Duffy, Transportation Secretary W.
Speaking today on walk on the street.
And this is all related to what we're talking about here in their term.
There have been multiple bomb threats this morning on at the commercial level with aircraft in Europe.
Now, individual bomb threats are not particular.
You know, you know, unusual.
And a lot of them get hunted down quickly and found to be baseless.
But there's flight diversion.
Here it is.
Flights have been diverting and things going on.
And this is what I feared.
I feared some sort of a movement to action from sleeper cells.
And so I am hoping this isn't happening.
But Duffy running to the microphone today.
He is the quiet cabinet member.
Secretary of Transportation.
What are you doing?
You're negotiating with the Union of Air Traffic Controllers.
And when it snows.
You make sure that the U.S.
You know, carriers do certain things to stay on time.
All this kind of stuff going on.
But he's, you know, running the squawk box this morning saying all is well.
We're working with our European partners to keep Americans safe in the sky.
And so I am.
Pat, you and I think in the same thing on stuff like this, saying we were hoping that ugliness doesn't happen.
But this is not just bomb threats now.
These are flights being diverted and a U.S.
Secretary of Cabinet member jumping on a microphone.
I'm first thing this morning.
Yeah.
I mean, look, tensions are high.
You know, it's a uncertain time.
People are emotions are high.
This is an opportunity for people who, you know, want to see U.S. be in shambles.
You know, U.S. is the most hated country in the world because U.S. has been winning for a very long time.
It's not it's not easy when that happens.
And for now, when they're seeing, hey, look at this opportunity, what just took place.
You got to keep your eyes on on a lot of different things.
And that's Duffy's job.
Duffy wakes up every morning.
Have to make sure this is.
That's what he has to do.
So I don't know about the story of Rubio, how much credibility is behind that one or not.
We'll find out what he's going to do, because most people would say the Iran war.
Rubio is more pro that than J.D.
Right.
He you know, one is the non interventionist and the other one is the hey, we got to get involved and get rid of Iran, you know, get rid of the threat that we have with our G.C.
So I don't know if this would be a good look if he did that.
I don't think at all would be a good look.
If he did that, because.
If it does, if there is a conclusion to Iran.
If you know what it's like, it's like when somebody you hire and they got hired to have a project to launch and let's just say it's a 24 month project to launch and they quit on month number 18.
You're not a finisher of your project.
I don't respect that.
So to me, it's like, wait, you're leaving on 18 months.
You got six months more to finish this.
Are you quitting now?
Yeah.
You will never get a positive reference from Iran.
I mean, on your next job when they call me for you.
So pretty much, I'll tell you, don't put us on your resume.
Right.
Because I'm going to tell him you quit six months before the completion of the job.
So if you have a project that you want to sign to this guy, he will quit the moment somebody offers a better salary to go.
There's it's a bad look if he leaves.
But let's just say the Iran story is done.
Good, bad, ugly.
I don't care what it is.
If it's done, then you're out.
Then to me, it's a smoother transition than doing it suddenly in the middle of it.
I would I would tend to take this particular story.
And independent with a grain of salt in any event, because strategically, like I say, it doesn't make sense.
No.
Trump could declare victory tomorrow.
And then what?
This rumor pops up early.
I say you leave when it's done or when it's, you know, an unfixable catastrophe.
Let's talk about California.
So California had a good thing that happened to them and a bad thing that happened to them.
Let's do both.
Good.
Prop 40 billionaire tax.
Three point four million people voted for it.
Yes.
Let's have a billionaire tax.
Four point two million people said no.
Fifty five percent.
Nice.
Prop 42.
Which is the anti new tax measure.
I was teaching Tom about this last week is yes.
Four point one three eight million.
Fifty four percent.
And a no was three point four eight one.
So the billionaire tax is not going to be happening in California.
But at the same time, when you think about California, what cities do you think about?
San Fran, L.A.
L.A. had Mayor Bass and they had Spencer Pratt that was running.
And Rahman was not even a person anybody thought was going to do anything.
Like there's no way this girl stands a chance.
Well, guess what, Demos so
Socialist candidate projected to win L.A.'s mayoral race,
defeating Karen Bass.
Tom, how bad of news is this to L.A.?
This is a double trick that turned into a double cross.
So the dirty trick that turned into a double cross.
That's what happened.
Number one, here comes Spencer Pratt, 200,000 people supporting him.
He is sounding rational.
He's out there running for mayor.
He's talking about the scandals and the lack of follow-up
and what was happening, people trying to rebuild their homes after the fires.
The fires that happened largely went farther than they should have
because of the ineptitude of the government,
and specifically Karen Bass, where you can't fight a fire from Guyana.
So remember that?
She was on that trip.
So he looks like he's there.
And so they did exactly what they did in Alaska,
but they didn't find another Sullivan.
They found another person to run
because here's what was going on in the primary.
They saw that were Dems that were,
no way, Jose, on Karen Bass.
No way.
And they're sitting there,
wow, we got to give these people a choice
because we have some anti-Bass people
that could actually cause Spencer Pratt to be one of the top two.
Because remember, California, specifically L.A.,
does not have a Democrat and a Republican primary.
Everybody can run, and the top three candidates will run in the runoff.
So they said, I know what we'll do.
Rubbing their hands together,
like the evil business owner on Simpsons.
Yeah.
We'll get Nithya Raman to run.
Burned.
She'll take the votes away from the people that are no Bass, no way,
because of the fire.
It'll take things away from Pratt,
and then we'll go into the fall.
Nithya will step aside, run an average campaign, and we'll win.
Nope.
Nithya Raman does better than people think in the primary,
gets people behind her.
Away she goes, and the dirty trick becomes the double cross.
She didn't back off.
She didn't give it to Karen Bass.
And Karen Bass,
got the pummeling that she should have got in the primary yesterday.
But what can she do to make L.A. now worse?
Does she have real direct impact to make the city worse?
And if yes, how?
Absolutely.
She's talking about sales tax.
She's talking about, hey,
we're not going to do these things with the homeless.
Homeless have the right to live somehow.
She's talking about tent cities.
She's talking about this.
You could go down the list of things,
and it's like, really?
So you want to turn,
L.A. into an even worse version of L.A.?
Are you telling me that?
And that's exactly what's about to happen.
Remember, she came from the city council,
and she's being replaced on city council by someone that's. She had the highest no-show ratio of city council meetings.
She would not show up, and she would say,
well, it's because I have a family,
and I have a kid, and I have this.
She says, you never show up.
You have the worst show ratio.
And she laughed about it.
She almost admitted to it that she's not somebody that shows up.
So in a way, Tom,
could some people be grateful that she doesn't show up?
Like, please take the check.
Don't show up, and don't get nothing done.
I would hope so, but we know that's not going to happen.
They think this is an opportunity here.
But let me tell you, this is going to backfire.
L.A. is going to get worse.
The reason Spencer got over 200,000 votes in the primary,
200,000 in L.A.,
the reason he got that is because people were upset.
Adam Carolla talks about it.
So many people talk about it.
I think this accelerates the shift,
because there's got to be a shift in L.A.
I think it accelerates the shift.
It's not going to be a big red city,
but I think it could be more lavender and purple.
And I think that what we're going to see here
is her thinking it's a mandate for her policies,
just like the Democrats.
The Democrats don't understand.
There was no mandate for Democrat policies on Election Day.
It was anger about affordability and getting,
even one million percent.
That's what it was.
And so when they think,
ha ha, we can do anything,
it's going to backfire.
And I think it's L.A.
is going to get worse, Pat.
And it's going to be much worse.
You know what it is, too.
And we've said this in the past.
Californians, like when you're so used to it,
you fall in love with your abuser.
Yeah, it's Stockholm.
Yeah, 100% rolling.
Even if you're wrong, boiled in a pot.
Yeah, they're like, hey, guys, I have my cousin.
My cousin's probably watching this right now.
My family, my brother, my cousin, Mike, they're like, bro,
they're going insane because they're like,
how are you guys not seeing like what they have done,
what they've promised, what's going on from from from Newsome
to all these people?
And they still still are that loyal.
Like, like, say what you want, bro.
Oh, my God.
Oh, yeah.
These people do not want change.
They want the abuse and they want it to keep going.
Or they want it to get worse.
They want, yeah, like torture.
Like she went from crying concession speech
during the jungle primaries to now the way my good.
It's it's funny how these things happen.
There she is.
Look at look at the wrinkles in her forehead.
It's really interesting how to play this played real course.
Botox and Beverly Hills for that head.
I hope you know that everything every person in this room
is fighting for in this campaign has been about building a city
that's worthy of you and every child in the audience.
And you can pause the way past the way she conceded and she lost.
She knows she she didn't really concede.
She said, you know, we fought a good campaign.
How much worse can it get?
Well, during the Palisades fire, you find out that the L.A.
Fire Department donated some of its surplus material to Ukraine in twenty twenty two.
Yes, that was so they were short when the despite all that.
There's still no account.
In fairness, however, I don't think the mayor had an active role in that, but I'll still
blame it on the mayor.
It could get worse.
Democrats can do anything, anything.
We don't play by the same rules.
We have rules.
They don't have rules.
They have win.
And I mean, you're going to see.
And I've said this before, bro, I'm not it's not the whole party.
When you're a godless, they don't throw pro abortion.
No name.
Can you honestly, because I've asked them before.
Name one Democrat leader that's openly like, hey, listen, I'm a Christian.
I believe in Christ.
Go.
No, I hear.
Oh, I thought of this before.
You can see this.
If you want to.
I'm sure this is the Democrats on when when Tallarico won in Texas.
Play it, ladies and gentlemen.
Murder.
Why?
Murder.
This is Texas, bro.
Tallarico hat.
They are.
I don't want to get faith.
Look, faith driven here.
But this does seem like it constantly talk about how it's a spiritual attack.
And if you look at everything, they represent their anti-truth positions.
In other words, like if you were to believe God is absolute truth, they don't take positions
that are like counter to.
They take the full opposition that the beauty of a baby is irrelevant.
Doesn't exist.
In fact, you should celebrate your abortion.
We've.
You should celebrate it completely with any type of respect for the idea of biology.
What really upsets me is that I've got three kids and one of whom is getting old now, like
and not like if they were ever do something like, oh, my God, and it's not and not not
that I would be angry.
It would be like that.
I'm just so disappointed.
Do these do these girls not have fathers who say even if even if you support abortion,
you understand it's an evil and that you should not celebrate it, let alone define your promise.
Are you ready for this?
Where?
Where do these like feel like they look like they probably come from?
I mean, I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Oh, my God.
I don't know.
constantly, right? So think about some of these Cliff Neckley and you know, these guys that are
very good at debating different religions and all this stuff, these guys, I think we need to
encourage some of these guys to go run. So imagine if things start opening up with prayer, there's so
many talented pastors who are debating their faith that need to consider running for office.
What happened with Tallarico? If you think about it, he looked like a pastorish type of a guy that
was running, but he was on the left. Yes. Well, why aren't more people on the right running?
Why aren't more Christian pastors running for office? I think the entire premise, like I would
go sit down with one pastor in Pasadena, we'd do Bible study from six to two o'clock. Every question
I would ask him, he already had a rebuttal. How does he have a rebuttal? Because he's answered
that thing 500 times to 500 other people. So the element of being prepared for debate is good. So
if you have a senior pastor recommendation for you, go send a message to him. Text him right now
if you have a relationship with them and say, Pastor Jones, Pastor John, Pastor Dudley Rutherford,
have you thought about?
Why not? Have you thought about bringing it back to a little bit of faith? Why not? Have you thought
about having a conversation with them? Why not? I'd like to see more of that taking place, but I
want to transition to this next story. Weird story. None of you guys are ready that I'm going to bring
up this story, but I want to see how you react to it. Ellen DeGeneres posted a video getting very
emotional. If you go to her Instagram account, you'll see which one it is. Got millions and
millions of views. I think I like 19, 20 million views. And she said, I don't know, I don't know,
she posted a tearful video tribute to Matthew Wright, a longtime EP, executive producer of her
talk show, who died suddenly in L.A. This is it. Who died suddenly in L.A. on October 30th at the
age of 52. And if you watch this video, play the first 20 seconds. I even like this post because
it was emotional. Go ahead. As I don't know if any. So Matt Wright, who was our executive producer,
um, and was featured on our show a lot, uh, died, um,
other day and he he was an amazing guy he was funny god he made me laugh he would surprise me
with things that he did all the time um he he was smart he was kind he was a part of our show that
that i mean everyone loved him everyone loved him i loved him right there okay so emotional sincere
you feel it the family sets up a fifty thousand dollar goal to bring him home to new york funeral
cost everything trust all that stuff and ellen donated five thousand dollars
there's a lady that's worth a half a billion dollars your ep dies that have been with you
for decades not just one your associate producer or something like that
what do you think about that tom does that say anything to you the the fans have lost their mind
they're like you're worth this much money you're only given five thousand dollars do you have any
position on this of her giving five thousand dollars to the ep's family so has the family
said anything because what i don't know is maybe behind the scenes that was my first reaction is
that maybe she doesn't want to take over the whole campaign if she goes and that draws attention away
unless people are less likely to donate so like before i comment and say something i don't know
if she went and gave them a million dollars
that nobody knows about uh i do know that there was a another death on her show by twitch he uh
had sadly committed suicide incredible incredible talent uh and i think there she did take care of
she was actively involved i don't know well i don't know if you guys remember the rumors of how
remember how happy she was on her show there was allegations where people couldn't even look they
were told if you look in her eyes you're going to get fired if you were sick they would fire you
racism humiliation bro like and this is all never all the all the dancing and everything after that
you found out how she was and this was from people that worked there yeah numerous people
by the way and it was horrible horrible i feel the emotion like i ended like i'm not i'm not
taking that away like i feel for her it gets me emotional thinking about that because that means
you know she loved him and i'm pretty sure you know it went both ways but and again we don't
know but if it's only five grand and you're putting out they get guess what then then don't
even donate the five grand for people to see it just send it to them that's the that's the problem
just send it to them the problem is what people are saying is you would have been better off not
giving anything yes and give an amount behind closed doors yes because if you gave publicly
i'll go for me five thousand dollars that's making people think you didn't give anything
else behind closed doors that's what people but also the fan i just wanted to double check that
it was the family that set up the go fund me or the the fundraiser first of all gives it up raising
ninety four thousand dollars tmz independent they paid six they looked at it there's been no other
public giving to the family that they know about i was the first thing is use give send go and not go
f me as i like to call it but set that aside um the fact that the family had to set one up means that
i would have imagined that a producer would have made a decent living on her show that the family
doesn't need to raise money to bury their their kid oh yeah it depends on the the produce like
well there's numerous tiers of what yeah but was he an ep was he was he an ep if you're an ep bro
you're getting checks well but not to like you're an ep whatever you are if your family if you don't
have money and your family doesn't have money to bury you in death i mean that's well they're
saying that they want to transfer him from somewhere to new york yeah but that's still vinnie
that's no i'm with you it is odd that's not uh oh no i'm with you i'm by the way i like like you
said and then what what here's the here's a flip side other people are going to say well she put
the 5 000 so people could see that her name is there so that they'll be like oh if ellen's doing
it all nice let me do it but this is a backfire this is bro it is weird they can't afford now that
yeah an ep on that big of a show makes minimum 250 000 minimum an episode is it a long-term ep
more no sure yeah an episode 250 but then you can be all the way up to half a million dollars
on a big show like that let's play like super devil's advocate maybe she knows that the family's
trying you know it's not a fraud maybe she is suspicious of the reasons for their for them
doing it who gives a sweet merciful goodness she could have afford to have someone you know
misappropriate steal a hundred thousand dollars from her you make a big uh a splashy deal with her
donation to set the mood a thousand dollars it's a weird a little weird when you see that
plus given the rumors about her behavior you know she she does look upset there uh but she does have
a reputation of not being the nicest person on earth someone could be very emotionally affected
by something and still have a character type to not like there are just certain people that are
like that it doesn't mean it doesn't emotionally hurt her she might just be the type which let me
read two other things for you we'll go to uh uh what do you call it we'll go to uh
johnny depp with some news came out could be good news for some people i'm happy about this if it
ends up happening do you remember when johnny depp was in court over amber heard and they said
what disney kind of distanced themselves because they believe that you know russell brand ended up
being guilty johnny depp didn't end up being guilty everybody hated this guy for many years
thinking how dare you treat amber heard that window like wait a minute she's the evil one
not johnny depp well story comes out saying i will never do pirates of the caribbean
what if they paid this much money i will never do pirates i don't know if you remember this or not
you don't remember this i will never do pirates of the caribbean if you guys can find that clip in
the back johnny depp now no longer rules out a pirates of the caribbean return after years away
from the franchise so johnny depp could make that comeback let me 50 million never 100 million never
150 maybe shutting the door down on pirates of the caribbean that previously said that wasn't
anything that could convince him to return after the fallout now it sounds like he's changing his
reprising his role as jack spear of the situation is right the film was released 2003 and ushered in
a new era of superstardom for depp for more films uh four more films were released from 06 17 and
depp always reprising his role the franchise never returned past 2017 uh following the follow between
depp and his ex-wife amber heard who was famously successfully sued for defamation over abuse
allegations published by the wapo the only involvement i really want to have truly is just
deb told entertainment tonight i'll go to work with producer jerry buckenheimer tomorrow for
anything he continued if it's jerry i trust him and we have deep friendship at his best the franchise
is great cinema at its finest depp is starring in ebbra ebensier set for release november 13 20 26
and date drinker scheduled for 27 so do you think it'll actually happen uh is this the interview of
him saying he'll never do it is this the one that he said he'll never do it or is this the one that
says he will do it okay play clip go for it
i don't know if you'll see us at sale we might do that privately guys if things are
um exactly where they need to be guys with regards to i hear it how how they're going to top off
the pirates thing the only involvement that i really want to have truly
is just to send them off on a better note
i'll go to work with brockheimer tomorrow for anything you know it doesn't matter do you think
he'll do it i well i think do you think he'll do i'm gonna say i i don't think so but by the just
just from his just by the way an acting pat you know they say take space take time like people
rush into acting he's how slow i thought he was going to do it he's going to do it he's going to
do it i thought the speed was on point five he's like and i'm thinking told him that and i'm by and
i'm like waiting but by the way there is no pirates of the caribbean without johnny doubt he would do
one of the most phenomenal the second one the third one it was just you always wanted to watch
him i hope for redemption and not necessarily revenge but we were in that era of time where
we're just like believe all women but wait a minute she there's no she's like believe all
women i don't care you know the whole thing i don't care i don't care i don't care i don't care
oh i'm with her bailory clint this is this doesn't make sense without him and i hope i mean
he's getting freaking older i don't know if you guys have been paying attention he's getting i
mean besides the slow talk but i am a huge huge johnny depp fan from when he was in uh bro freddie
krueger oh my god he's in the first one getting sucked he died and by the way that scarred me
the tv gets sucked in there the blood's on this by one of the uh it's
gonna be forever from you know no fear and loathing to all the atlas and wonderland this
guy is freaking amazing i hope i hope he does i'll say 75 he comes back but think about that story
you guys told me to go to hell i freaking lost everything everybody by the way because you know
people still see him you know what they say to him you're a scumbag and it's not gonna go away
but that that movie franchise does not exist without him nobody could replace him for my
selfish reasons i want him back
but i don't know 75 you know there's some crazy stories about johnny he spent so much time in
hospitals dressed as jack sparrow every time i share the children have you seen those pat
where he dresses up you can find the connor just really quick he goes into hospitals on his off
time when they're not shooting dressed up as freaking jack sparrow and hug bro i would doesn't
do it with any media no media he just comes in like parents are recording stuff he goes into
these hospitals and the faces of these kids that are in bad shape and dying bro look look at what
that's really him that's him he doesn't
do it again look oh i wish we had it without the people he's like he speaks with the accent and
everything pat and his and and the sidekicks come with him no media attention
around it he just does it because he loves awesome bro you know the actor who recently died of als
uh he allowed that guy to stay in his house to alleviate the burden of the cost of treating his
als oh there's so many stories that have come out about johnny depp he's amazing there's a
calci market it's at 67 that'll be in the next uh that'll be i think he will do it as a final
send-off i really really do i love johnny depp one of my favorite actors of all time just in
terms of the diversity of roles what do you think pat you think yay or nay he has to do it okay he
has and by the way i'll tell you from different angles why he has to do it one i think he has to
do it because he needs the money okay i think he hasn't done a big thing for a while and sometimes
you know with some of the habits that he had he was a big spender so i don't know how much of the
money he's like he's he's a fantastic beast wasn't he in that whole thing he he he's probably going
to need to make the money and number two is this is your art you were born to do this you know he's
one of the few people in the world that does what god put him here to do yep he's one of the greatest
actors of all time when this guy would you would see the child did he do the chocolate uh
willie wonka 100 he has done so much great work in my opinion he's he's in my top 10 of greatest
actors i can watch this guy oh yeah his work is just phenomenal on what he does i think i think
he's gonna do it i don't think it's gonna be a no and you're right and you know why you're right
he was reportedly spending 30 000 a month on wine which is 300 i'm being dead serious from a legacy
perspective this this is the apology this is the apology to him from yes from the movie industry
and also you imagine the jokes that they can put into this movie like oh my god make the villain
like a name the villain amber or something or put like the amber stone of doom and you ready for
this in 2018 rolling stone interview depp was at actually said the reporter amount was too low he
goes it's insulting to say that i spent thirty thousand dollars on wine because it's way far
more he's amazing it was far far more he's a gangster yeah let me wrap it up with this last
one here and then we'll finish it off so i saw the story the other day i was talking to tom
it's been uh it's been now year and a half that uh bailey's been in school is it year and a half
two years something like that that bailey's been in school and so i said tom i said hey tom have
you adjusted it sounds like it's interesting you ask that question you know you never fully adjust
but i'm kind of there you know where it's like you see and you know every every moment i get for
bailey to come here from school i want to have it but at first when it happened tom had a
hard time with it when we were at dinner one time i was asking him about it and every time i see
tico i'm like man dude i got four more years with you guy and i appreciate i read this the other
day i think some parents will relate to this and i and i think some kids who ever wonder why fathers
do what they do it's like dude why does he do that what's what's wrong with this guy so he says
my dad proved drove 40 minutes to pick me up at the airport i was furious i had already told them
i was taking the train don't come pick me up it was almost midnight
he was standing by the car in his slippers you shouldn't be driving this late nice to see you too
he picked up my suitcase back in the car i brought it up again dad the train drops me off particularly
at the front door i know and now you have to drive all the way back home with me i know that too
he didn't argue he just kept driving then i noticed a paper bag between us an egg sandwich
an apple the same lunch used to pack for me when i was
a kid you probably ate something on the plane he said i wasn't sure i ate the sandwich he asked me
about my trip our phone calls were usually short how's everything going good just busy with work
but this time we had 40 minutes so i told him about the presentation that had gone badly
then i told him about the co-worker who had helped me about the hotel window that wouldn't close
about the dinner i had eaten alone he missed our exit because he was too busy
asking what happened next neither of us mentioned it when we pulled up outside my apartment i tried
one last time you know you didn't have to do this he kept his hands on the steering wheel i know
you can get home on your own then he looked at me i just wanted to hear how your trip went
that's when i realized something i had spent the entire drive explaining why he didn't need to pick
me up and he had spent the entire drive asking me about my life we sat there a little longer
then i told him something about work that i'd never had the courage to tell anyone
he didn't give me any advice he didn't tell me what i should have done he just listened then he
said to me you'll figure it out it was such a simple thing to say but somehow i needed to hear
it from him the next morning i checked my return flight for the following month i started typing
don't worry about picking me up i deleted it then i typed are you free on the 18th my flight lands
at seven i started the message
then i hit send my text back 7 a.m or 7 p.m he said 7 p.m good we can have dinner a few seconds
later unless you already ate on the plane i smiled some people say i love you others drive 40 minutes
at midnight with an egg sandwich on the passenger seat isn't that amazing tom i read this and i
thought of you
here we go again that's it
that's it i uh i bring her a chipotle and a red bull
and i pick her up at four lauderdale
i bring her the chipotle bowl she likes and a red bull
isn't that great and every time she come we go to dinner as a family we enjoy each other's
company sometimes you get so caught up with all the stuff that's going on the you know politics
business career finance money all this stuff and you forget it's sometimes just
just enjoy the flipping convo with your kid yeah and sometimes i'm sitting there in my you know one
of my kids just wants to tell me for 45 minutes about something i have no interest in and i just
sit there i'm like dude flush it out tell me whatever you're thinking what do you got what
do you want to tell me tell me whatever you're thinking because this is not going to be around
forever yeah you know we're aging fast you know this thing goes very very fast i got a 14 year
old a 13 year old a 10 year old and a five year old and if i had it my way i would have done it
and if i had it my way i would have 20 more kids just to have kids in my house but uh for some of
us who you know are at certain ages where we're thinking why is my dad why is my mom why are they
doing this why do i just want man they just want to spend some time with you it's all they want
they just want your company i'm the happiest when my kids are around me happiest when my kids are
around me so i don't know who had to hear this message but i saw this i thought of tom um wanted
to share with you and it looks like yeah and i'm so sorry pat because i wanted to give the flip side
as the as the kid when it comes to you know looking at the parent like with with my mom and you know i
talk to her every day and like sometimes you don't get to see see them as much as you want and i tell
people i saw a video and a guy was sitting with another guy and they were talking about parents
and seeing them and like especially if they're in your life and you're involved like my dad died
when i was when i was young but my mom's still there and he looked at the guy and he goes oh he
goes wait a minute you don't see her he was how many times you see your mom uh a year and he goes
maybe once he goes how old is she he's like 70 he's like no i got i got 10 years he goes he goes
no you don't he goes no you don't you have 10 visits he goes and it hit me it got me emotional
he's like you only have 10 more times that you're going to see her and she could probably be gone
so i tell people if you're questioning if you're thinking about it go besides calling them go
surprise them me and my family pat we for years we always do this i would go and be in the trunk
my sister would be in the air force i'd show up in colorado they'd show up in the trunk and they'd
open it my they'd tell my mom we're shopping and there's something in there she'd open it and i'd
surprise the hell out of her and the happiness that you get from them and i love that you said

Summary:
” This optimism is rooted in historical patterns: past leaders like Clinton and Obama faced similar midterms but recovered, suggesting that even in defeat, recovery and renewal are possible.
