Midseason Review + Bounce Backs, Miscellany! - Fantasy Football Podcast for 11/4

The Fantasy Footballers podcast delivers a mid-season fantasy football review focusing on player performance, injury risks, and trade speculation. Key insights include the high risk of Zay Flowers due to injury, with several analysts recommending benching him in favor of safer options like Stefan Diggs or Caleb Douglas. Trevor Lawrence is expected to be pulled early in games, prompting debate over whether to risk him or use backups like Malik Willis or Sam Darnell. Quarterbacks like Josh Allen and Joe Burrow remain top contenders, while Kirk Cousins’ recent touchdown surge raises questions about his sustainability. Running backs are highlighted by Kenneth Walker’s dominance and Christian McCaffrey’s consistency, though Brian Robinson Jr. struggles with consistency. Wide receiver rankings show Mike Gesicki and Chris Olave as top performers, while Jamar Chase and Devonte Smith face injury concerns. The hosts critique speculative trade rumors as exaggerated, stressing that fantasy decisions should rely on real data and injury reports. They also question the relevance of divisions in fantasy leagues, citing unfair advantages and lack of competition. The episode concludes with a call to action for listeners to join foot.com for premium tools and community engagement, while maintaining a lighthearted tone through gaming references and comedic moments.

Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. His football! No, it's not! Oh, my God! Oh, my God! I thought it was Thursday! Oh, my gosh! Penalty. Throw the flag. Yeah, do you have any of those flags back there? Throw the flag. Oh, my gosh! Yeah, Josh got me. Wait, Josh told you you're not there? No, because Josh screamed "It's Warcraft time." Oh, my goodness. And so I was like, "Oh, crap, is it Thursday?" 2000 shows you've never done that. No. And now you've got a penalty flag. Yeah, 15 yards. 15 yards? I'll do it again tomorrow. Oh, my God. Or will I? Roughing the intro? Yeah. That's not good. That's my fault, everybody. I just. I'm very happy that somebody else can screw up the beginning of a show. I feel like that's been me 99% of the time. You know who didn't screw it up? Yeah. I mean, the Bears here. I know. Is this orienting? We're talking about video games and Josh. We're talking about video games, Josh. Josh got you. Man, it's. It's not football time. We'll talk about a game that's coming tomorrow. Yeah, there will be a Thursday night football game. It's time to break down football games. Previewing games. Look, it's not a normal three-man show. Mike and I, Mike caved under the pressure of being 50% of this podcast. And I don't know if you knew this, Mike, but we've made the executive decision, you and I, to also take 50% of all revenue the company generates during Jason's absence. Oh, that's great news. Yeah. It's only fair. It's only fair. Although he is with his family on a little trip, but I'm pretty sure all he's doing is ripping packs of cards, which he has never done, never cared about sports cards in his life in the last three days, has decided it's fun. Yeah, he just, he gets good cards. We have a mid-season review episode today, which is like one of my favorite episodes. We just kind of allay the land where guys are currently slotted in, who we think will emerge over the second half, who will drop out of the top 10 things like that. Thursday night break down NFL news, or as Mike calls it, no news, oh, no, there's so much news. I mean the out the off the trades, but I can't wait to get into it. The internet is not good. The rumors. People just, they just blab the appers out there. No actual trades have happened. Just let me know when it's time to talk about it. And then we, we'll get into some mail back to the community is, join the foot.com. That's where all the premium in season tools are, bonus weekly episode and, you know, the best people on earth. They hang out over there, join the foot.com. Let's just jump right. Well, Brooks wanted us to give like a little league of record update. We don't do that very often, but people I've asked for that type of thing. Right now, whoo, Jason, Jason's not here because, I mean, that's also his current state in the league of record. Not here. It's from very early in the season, was intimidated by my roster, yeah. And got insecure about himself and then decided I'm going to play for next year. So we're a keeper league. Sometimes you have to navigate the picks and trades and keepers and he wanted to go all in for next year and he made that decision way too early. Mike and I both project to be in the playoffs. It's not a guarantee for Mike. You are, yeah, you there's two teams that we know will definitely be in and I'm hanging on by just like a butt here. Yeah. It's by one pedal of Zay's flowers. Yes. I am barely in an end have taken a neutering last week. Yeah. We have, we've often had the question on the show about like divisions or not having divisions in fantasy. And I've always been a defender of divisions because to me, because it has not beat you in the butt yet. Correct. And and I've always been under the that's your problem. I've been like, I've been like, you want to build rivalries like Jason and I were division mates for years and he hated playing me twice a year and I hate to play in him, but he hated playing me more. And we have divisions. So we have to, but the problem is is that our league only the division winners get the buy. Yeah. There's a buy week on the best two teams in the league are currently in my division. And I currently, I'm like 12 and four, we play with the median, but there's a 14 and two team. Yeah. In my division. So right now, I am slotted to not get a buy despite having the second best record. And as I've always said, divisions are stupid. I think they're great. Yeah. Because you're fighting for one with the worst record. Well, Jeremy has it right now. Oh gosh. Does he really? Yes. I do. Damn it. Per the divisions. 11 and five. So trade deadlines coming up soon. Look, the good news is your rivalry with this other team. It's really building. I mean, that is true. We do play each other on the last game of the year. And if I'm close enough, that could be for the buy. So that'll be fun. But there you go. There's the the legal record. Al Borlin is in the mix. Mike's in the mix. I'm in the mix. And then three other kind of pretty good teams on the top half of the league. And look, there's a couple goals goal number one. I win the championship goal number two. One B goal number one B Mike doesn't win the championship. It's very very people have to understand how important it is to the future of this podcast existing. I understand. You out there. You're subscribed. You watch the show. You enjoy yourself. I hope it will not be the same. No. If Mike, if Mike goes back to back and leave a record, Mike and I have always been fighting for the most titles situation. If Mike goes two titles above me, the show gets worse and I hope Mike, you realize that. No, I do because I realize that the health of you, Jason, your, your hearts, your weak bones will crumble. I will, I will ascend. You will grow. I will. I will. I will. You will be levitating for years. I won't be around this levitation. So maybe I don't want to win. One other update. Al Borlin. What? What else happened in the legal record? Josh and Matt just acquired a wide receiver three in Ashton, Genty, oh, a wide receiver three. Yeah. How's the bar? Oh, that's a low blow. Let's be close. Keep it above the flags coming to you. Make it fun of a guy who got hurt, but he's making fun of you. He's making fun of you because you straight for a guy who sucks. Now if you wanted to make fun of out, you would not bring up Lamar because that's like kind of a low blow. You'd bring up the fact he dropped Drake May out in two weeks. That's fine. And look at his face. That's appropriate. If you look at his face right now, you get, you understand how much that more that hurts. Yeah, that would hurt. How'd that Tucker craft trade turn out to the one where you got insulted? Yeah. Where Jamie really, really hated that. That one's still fine. Yeah. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. No, no, no, no. He was, he was so insulted by that trade. And the trade is fine. The trade is fine. No, Josh. He wasn't. I got it too much. We got to do this again. He wasn't insulted by the trade, Josh. He was insulted because you went to him one to one, man to man, and said, we don't trade with Andy. We're not doing it. You're not doing it. We're not. Hey, hey, Jeremy, we're not going to do it. You're not going to do it, right? And then you trade it to him. Yeah, you might have a point. That's what the problem was. That is 100% with the problem. It is the big and trading with me. People didn't want to do that. You guys want to talk some news? Actual news. Oh, dude, I told you. I'm ready. Let's do it. News and notes from Around the League. Brandon IU, his applied for reinstatement and is prepared to report to the 49ers facility on Friday. I love that he's like, I'll be there. He just figured this out. Well, he hired Drew Rosenhaus just now. And then that was. That was their plan. Yeah, Rosenhaus was in it. Yes, that's real. And Rosenhaus is like, here's what you do because there was one thing you do want to get out of town. Hey, into the facility. Go to the bathrooms. Don't flush. Cause havoc throughout the locker room. Don't do it on social media where everyone can see it because then they don't like you. He'll probably get released now. I mean, if he is, I don't know if the team can suspend him for like, detrimental, detrimental further. Maybe. But I mean, you're just doing a dancer creating press conference questions. This may be the end of the IU situation in San Francisco. We'll see Browns have placed the Sean Watson in a late concussion protocol. It was late symptoms. There's almost a zero percent chance he can play this week now. Shoulder standards is expected to start. It's against the Saints. Shoulder gets an opportunity fire up Harold Fanon. That's how it feels, right? Would you make a like I have Kraft and Fanon? Would you make the shift because of that probably not craft. I know. Not that level. It feels like maybe though. I, if you weren't with fantasy football last year, shoulder standards was the starter for the majority of the season for the Cleveland brand, Kraft is against New England. And Shadour Sanders doing his favorite thing to do was throw the ball to Harold Fanon, which worked out really well last week for the Sean Watson as well. And so I mean, that's, it's all just speculation and assumption that that's what will happen. Maybe Shadour loves conception. We don't know. If I have Fanon and I have other like mid-level tight ends, Fanon is moving up. place here. I'm I love on injured reserve with this high ankle sprain. New today is waiver day. I am very curious in our League of record. How much you Algier went for that will go in an hour. Oh, it's delayed. The time changed. Yeah, we didn't change it, but they the world did. Yeah, Arizona stays the same. Mike Vrayble, no update on Hunter Henry's foot, said it will depend on how he responds. He wasn't able to finish the game. And just so people know, we don't change the time. Sun still comes up. Oh, you're saying everybody doesn't change the time. Well, yeah, like the world is they don't delay something. Nothing bad happens in to our in our state. Right. When we don't change the time, it's just never. Oh, you're just saying we're a good example. Yeah, it'll be okay. It nothing. Yeah, we can get rid of this. Yeah, I mean, we just we never change our clocks. People are blown away by. Yeah, we just keep on living. And then everybody on the east coast, anybody east of us just gets the show an hour earlier. Yeah. And I guess it does. It helps. It benefits them. Yeah. Um, we are previewing the Thursday night game. Baseball Tutin didn't practice Monday or Tuesday. I can't believe you said that. I can't believe it's something. Thank you. Um, I know. Your mind's in Azeroth. Um, all right. Liam Cohen said, Tutin will be a game time decision for tomorrow's game. That's not great. And then, uh, guys, I, we got it all figured out Ravens head coach Jesse mentor confirmed that Joe Fignano will start. That is how you pronounce that. Joe Fignano Tyler Huntley is out for the year with his turf toe injury. So Fignano will get the start. There are Daniel Jones rumors. Oh, we just got another hot piece. We did get some breaking news. Breaking news. The Saints have designated rookie wide receiver Jordan Tyson to return. The window has opened. Stay healthy, my friend. Yes, please. We'll see. We'll see how soon he comes back in the window. If he starts practicing this week, it seems like that would be the reason why he should be back out on the practice field. They did say that this hamstring injury was a different one than the, the first one. So or the one he had called him. Hamstrings. Does he have 16? He has 16 hamstrings. The mole. Mm-hmm. Yep. You who? I'm 16. So the the rumors now coming out from the eight out of the insiders. Oh, yes. That don't be to keep a half eye open. Right. That if the Ravens lose Derek Henry might get traded. Yes. Because their season might be over. Oh, well, you're they have you have automatically said we lose on Thursday. There's no logical argument anyone on earth can make for the Ravens beating the Steelers or the Bengals right now. I understand you had a like the situation wasn't possible. I mean, you would have had to get a deal done get that quarterback into your locker room by Monday. Like they got to be practicing on Monday learning the playbook. So I understand the situations are possible. Maybe they still make a move. But if you're moving forward with Joe as your quarterback, you're not so done. So this would be in your playing Jacksonville. So you're almost certainly going to lose. It was it was already going to be a tough game to win with Lamar Jack. If they lose, they will have lost four games in a row. They will be four and five. They will be below the Browns by multiple games below the Bengals below the Steelers. So you look at the longevity of Henry, the long term, the fact that you're a year away from. I mean, it makes sense. Yes. But the problem is we are us, the fantasy football nerds, we are the ones who are supposed to stir the pot and say, you know what makes sense. Right. If this situation plays out, then this player getting traded to make a team better for next. We're the ones who do that. If you're an inside reporter, you don't do that. You get actual things. You wait to say it. You don't report and say breaking. This makes sense. Yes. You don't get to do that. That's not your job. And that's our job. It also makes sense for the Eagles to do this. It was sacred, but Dave said they're not going to do it. So not every team is going to, I mean, who knows with Jonathan Taylor. Right now, there's maybe this is when a trade happens, but it's dying down. Like the Jonathan Taylor talk is dying down a little bit. There was a report this morning about the Vikings not necessarily having the money to make a move. And so we'll see what happens and the enjoy pick whatever mid 20s. I know. I know. Good enough to get to the playoffs. It's not good enough to make a run. They won't hold the division. So yeah, no, no pending trades. Now we might get news any minute, but nothing right now. Talk some Thursday. Thursday night break down. Because we were already talking about it. Jacksonville at five and two, traveling to Baltimore to take on Joe Fignano and the Ravens who are four and four, 10 point favorites on the road. Yeah. Jacksonville has 10 point road favorites as wild. The implied point total for the Ravens is 15 points. That is the fewest at home for the Ravens in 10 years. The overrunner is just 40, but that gives Jacksonville 25 with that low implied for Baltimore. I mean, there are some good teams in the NFL that you could be like, oh, they might come in here and lay an egg and not take it seriously or you've seen them vacillate between good performances and bad. Honestly, Jacksonville's been one of the more consistent teams on both sides of the ball all year long. Their offense is number two in EPA per play. Their defense is number one and turnovers forced. I bet they turn Joe Fignano over. I mean, this is kind of devastating for the person with Derek Henry, certainly for the Z-flowers manager. Yeah. And the question, what do we do with Z-flowers? We try to give advice and we try to be honest of like, if I don't really have a strong piece of advice to give, I will say that too because that's just sometimes what it is. I can tell you what I am doing personally though. As of right now, and I can't imagine this changes, Stefan Diggs of the Washington commanders is in my lineup over Z-flowers, in my dynasty league, where I'm, my roster is good. This is not the humble brag. It's like, but I'll be playing McCaffery and Walker. And then like, I'm going to be finding the different wide bench level wide receiver to play over Derek Henry. I mean, I don't want to play anyone on this ball. It's a more team. I play, I play Waddle over Z-flowers. Yeah. I would play Caleb Douglas. That would be the line. I think because they, they with the ball on his hands, manufactured targets, he could do something of his own accord. He can. So it's not to say you bury him under all circumstances. Like, I'm not going to play conception over him. Right. This is why I'm saying, but yeah, the digs decision is a good one. Like CJ Moore is your, you'll have to, whatever level of risk you're willing to accept. And, and what do you, I mean, rest of seasons, a flower situation seems, which we dig. We somewhat dire in the news. We didn't say it. Tyler Huntly's on high R now too. Yeah. We mentioned he's, he's the turf. Do we say that? We just said season ending. But yeah, okay, okay. He's like, Z-flowers, rest of the season. Is he a low end wide receiver two? Is he a high end wide receiver two? I mean, I, I wouldn't even call him if, if it's Fignano, then no, it won't, if they go out and make a move for Jacobi is, I mean, the, the, the, the pie in the sky want to me is, is, Mario, but I don't think Washington's going to let him go. No, no, no, say amount of injuries. Jayden's had. And like, like, Daniel Jones, Jacobi Bursat, those makes sense. Tyson Baygent, you would keep Baygent is better than Fignano, but Jacobi could keep flowers afloat as a wide receiver two. We've, we've seen enough of him force feeding targets to, to players to know that, but I, he was the emergency quarterback for a reason. It's, he's in a impossible situation here, but for fantasy purposes, it's really, I don't, it's dire straits. Like, remember, um, where this is a situation very similar now, actually, remember when burrow got hurt was that last year or two years ago, was it last year? You're talking about the weeks with, uh, with Browning. Yes. Where, and you were, like, you have Jamar Chase. Yeah, Chase was unplayable. There was a point where chase was so unplayable. And it would, like, we're getting these trade questions. It's like, dude, there's no path. And then, and, and then we got a mystery, the clouds parted. And somehow the Cleveland Brown's indivision decided that they would trade Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati bangles. And he came in and fixed it. It feels like Flacco would be an answer. Yeah, but that's also in division. Yeah. There's no way the bangles, the bagels saw what they wouldn't do that doing that. No, we need Joe Flacco. So other than a, a Hail Mary miracle that none of us see happening, it looks like flowers is like a double flex type of play. Gross. Yeah. That's like getting an injury to flowers. Yes. It is. It is very much. It only works because you have to decide if you're going to play him. Henry will, I think Henry will be okayish. Just not this week. Yeah. I agree with that. And then baseball, too, and you know, who's been cooking. Unfortunately, you've got a game time decision. There are two possible outcomes. He sits. And then all of a sudden, Chris Rodriguez is actually a great star. Yes. see us. I think Rodriguez is startable. No man. That's what I was the other thing I was going to say is if students in with the likelihood of this being a blowout, they would get to it now to this game as fast as possible. They might look at this game and just say, Hey, we just don't need baseball to win this game if we can give them because you get 10 days rest right after this week. So if you're dealing with an ankle that's, you know, touch and go. And if you want to talk a see a ridiculous condom for fantasy football, no, I can't wait. Trevor Lawrence has been pulled early in eight of the Jacksonville Jaguars last 15 games. Over half the time, Trevor Lawrence has been pulled because they don't need him anymore. And who is playing sound from the dooser alley? That I think that was outside. That was outside. Keep it down. It's our crowd. Good Lord. They thought it was football time. You guys are safe. You guys are safe. It's about to drop the hammer. Yeah. I was trying to give it more than a second. You were really loud. It was loud. But so Trevor Lawrence is like, I think I'm still playing him. I think you have to. I think go, you know, three quarters of this game. But yeah, you risk a defensive score and a rushing touchdown. And then things just disappearing. Maybe two defensive scores or short fields. Not a lot of yardage accumulation, right? You could have a game where it's, you know, 150 and one. I mean, it's like for Trevor Lawrence. The the streaming options of the week. That's well compared to that. So it's like, do you risk Trevor Lawrence? Or do you say, I want a full game of Malik Willis against the Detroit Lions? I want a full game of Sam Darnal against the Arizona card. Lawrence. Okay. I would. And it's, you know, it's more than just the kind of the numbers behind this game. It's also the prime time. You know what I mean? Like Liam Collin, Jacksonville, statement game, Thursday night in front of everybody. I think I'd play Trevor Lawrence. And they've got a high implied point total still. Yeah. Maybe it all comes in the first half. But Trevor Lawrence. I couldn't live with myself throwing Malik out there and having him have in a disaster game or Darnal after last week. Trevor Lawrence will almost certainly be pulled by the fourth quarter. That's true. You just have to hope it's only the fourth. Yeah. That's funny. Parker Washington, one top 24 finish in six weeks. You playing him tonight. Yeah, I'll still play him. And then you've got the Ravens have given up points. They are the right now, the 20 third in an adjusted points to the position. Is there anybody else in this game that you're even thinking about besides the running backs for Jacksonville Lawrence and then Parker? I mean, I'm fine with strange. I'm fine with Brent Strange has a low end tight end one. Yeah, okay. Well, let's take a break and we'll get into the mid season review. Review a Sora's rags. Oh, there was no finish to that drop because they used to go. Yeah, this one's coming in from right. Yeah. No. Yeah. We didn't want to. We couldn't toss one on there. That's okay. That's an old school drop. Yes. I love that very old. I love it. All right, mid season review time, Mike. What are we thinking is going to change? Top 10 quarterbacks right now. Fantasy points for game. You ready? Joshua Allen at number one. Okay. 26 points of game. Almost 27. That is the second highest of his career through eight weeks. I think that one's pretty good. I think that one's staying. I think that one's good. That one's staying because, Mr. Joe Brady's an offensive mind and the defense is not good enough. Joe Burrow though at 24.2. Wow. Last week, last week must have jumped him up. He's had some huge weeks. And then those guys are kind of in a tear of their own. Really? Brock Purdy at 20 points. Jared Goff at 20 points. Both of those are a little surprising to be that high. Jayden Daniels Drake May right behind there. And then Kirk Cousins. Like you have five guys at 20 points. Kirk with a top schedule coming up. But he's number seven. Caleb Trevor Lawrence Jordan love rounding out the top 10. Speaking of Cousins, like they play San Francisco Seattle Denver Cleveland by week. Chargers. All negative matchups. Denver after that. That's going to be. That's going to be tough. That's going to be really. They're very fortunate to have won this last game because this streak of losses could have gone on for a while. If you look at all of the other quarterbacks, and you can talk about any of those top 10, but you look at the, you know, DAC, shock, my homes. Those might be the biggest names outside the top 10. So it seems like Kirk is one of the biggest candidates to drop out of that list. Kirk Cousins is his touchdown percent is sitting at a cool 6.7. Okay. So 6.7% of his attempts are turning into touchdown passes. That's because 100% of his attempts to rock bars turning to catches. And just for, and he has different weapons, but for context, last year was 3.7. What's the league average? League average is usually like four and a half is 4.4. And Kirk has run hot before. Like he's overall like career wise, he's 5.1. So this he is a a touchdown throwing quarterback like more than than others. But it's been really, really good for him right now. And that's I think it will not do that. Yeah, I mean, I think the players that I'll be interested to see if they have sustained success. I don't, you know, Purdy Cousins. Those are some questions. I mean, I think Drake May and Jay Daniels are there to stay. I think off for the most part is there to stay. Lawrence has the easiest rest of season schedule for quarterback. So yeah, you know, that's a big deal. And then Jordan Love, it's been pretty good. You know, Dac, I'd love to come on here and be like, Dax, the obvious candidate to move into that range. And I, I have watched enough games where I am personally confused and frustrated. Same. And I feel like the year started pretty good for Dac. Like the first couple of weeks, I was like, Oh, that's the same old dude. Like, you know, he's got these weapons. And you've got Jerry Jones coming out saying I got to get the ball to pick and some more. I mean, the way Dax throwing it, like the accuracy issues that I'm seeing, I don't know if chucking it down the field is going to pay off. I mean, Dac is somebody that should be able to move into that echelon. Yes. I think CJ Stroud is somebody that should be able to stay in that echelon with the weapons he has in the running game. But while do you realize in their loss to Arizona, what Javante did? I don't think he had a good game. No, he did not. I believe he had a 24 24 twice. Yeah. 24 times my price because I figured they'd do that against Arizona. He wasn't only like 50 something yards. He ran for 56 yards on 24 carries with a long of six. Like that is I, I would expect a key. And there was good. Good sim was in there too. I mean, it was like, I would expect that this game against Indy that they're going to open it up. But watching Dac, yes, he 100% with his schedule and everything he should. He should easily make in the top 10. But he doesn't, he doesn't look like Dac. Seven of the next eight next eight games are indoors, which at this, you know, as the air progresses, that's a good thing. A lot of them are plus matchups. Like you said, Indy San Francisco, Tennessee, Philly, the next four, you know, the Tyler shut conversations a tough one for me because I feel like Shuck is playing pretty much as well as he can play. Yeah. But you've had outside the top 15, three or four weeks, he gets Tyson back, but the offensive line doesn't get fixed. Tyson, you know, does he boost the offense? I think probably a little bit, but I don't, I don't look at it as like some revolutionary change. Maybe, you know, maybe Tyson comes back in in two weeks. He looks like a million percent. And this is the top 10 player you, you were expecting. Maybe I'm too, I think it has a 10. Well, I think it is perfectly fine to be hesitant of a player who has injured all 16 of his hamstrings. Right. Was he's an awesome talent. But he's been very hurt. And guys coming off of this injury, reactivation is definitely a risk. It's more of a, okay, we're in the middle of the season. Who has something changing that could really elevate or or destroy what's going on for fantasy football, like with Kirk, you're like, okay, he's running hot. He's got the number one pick behind him. They've been losing. It would, the R speculation would be Fernando Mendoza will eventually get, get some starts here toward the end of the year. So if you're counting on Kirk, is like a QB two, that probably doesn't work. And Tyler Shuck, though, has somebody coming in who is to the positive side. Yeah. So he, which I do feel about my home as well with Russia Rises return. Yeah. Well, like my home is probably not going to be why there's your 15. He might not be top five. And he won't. But I think that that's something you can pay attention to. Maybe another weapon in him at Johnson. I would also mention like not that you're a streamer rest of season. I do think Malik will be. Malik Willis will be a streamer. We'll see. He's been better. The last two games. And then he's got Detroit this week. So if he has, you know, a third straight game. Right. You know, Sam Donald, you've mentioned as a second half sleeper. Yeah. His schedule is so good. Arizona Las Vegas by week. San Francisco is about average, but the Dallas Giants Philly. Maybe he's got a really strong stretch coming up. All right. Running backs. Here we go. Top 10 running backs right now points per game. Again, half PPR scoring to mere gives it number one 25.5. That's good. good in this creation. - You know how he's averaging 29 opportunities again? If you give a player that electric 29 opportunities, you're never gonna be let down. Number two still, Kenneth Walker at 21.3. - We'll be back. - We'll be back everybody. - He's got a couple off week. - Couple down games. - The next two, Christian McCaffrey. - McCaffrey is there at points per game at 18.1. So it didn't feel that way, mate. - No. - 'Cause he hasn't had those like week-winning weeks. He's just been consistent. And then James Cook at 18. - Cook is so funny because I watched these games. I've got Josh Allen. We love Buffalo. Allen is the 100% option inside the one. So it's Allen, Allen, Allen. Maybe even inside the two, the way they could push that thing forward. There is a specific cook zone. That's about five yards away from the in zone. - Two to five or three to five. - You're like, cook will get a chance. And he almost always scores on those. So he manages to get into the in zone. He's on pace for 17, resting touchdowns again. - It is funny to have an elite level running back. - Yeah. - Get inside the five and you're like, you just start rubbing hands like, oh baby, free, touchdown for me. Gets a carry. Gets to the one. Normally you go, oh baby. We're gonna get another carry. We're gonna punch it in. - Go, you're rooting for a fall start. - If you get to the one, you're rooting for a fall start on Allen. B-john is number five right now at 17.6. I feel like that's when we could linger on for a second. He does lead the league in rushing yards, but Michael Panic Jr. from time to time. - Nice. - From week to week. - B-john, let it die. - Yes, it is. Yeah, I did say we'd stay here for a minute. I guess my question to you is, is that a disappointing outcome? Right now, B-john is basically producing at the same level of four or five other guys. Chuba, Swift, Taylor, Kyron. It's really the last three weeks. The game against Chicago was a massive disappointment where they gave B-john Robinson nine carries. Remove head from butt, that's so weird. - It's funny 'cause these last few weeks are the weeks where Brian Robinson Jr. - I know, has been out. And so you're like, this is gonna be cooking time. - Yeah, and then San Francisco, that's the tough one when we get it. The Tampa Bay one though, 19 for 76, that's fine. That's a solid game. But no receptions and no touchdowns. Meanwhile, in the exact same game, two other running backs on the opposing teams are just running for like 12 yards of carry. - So do you feel like, like would you trade B-john for McCaffrey or Walker? - No, no, not for Walker. - Walker maybe. - Yeah, but McCaffrey, no. B-john will be back. It's one target for zero receptions for B-john Robinson is. - That game means it's not a higher. - What about Chuba and maintaining this space? He's averaging 21 opportunities of game, man. He is sitting above, you know, Jonathan Taylor, above Derek Henry, above Kyron Williams. You know, it doesn't feel like there's a path for him to go away. - That's probably the best way. - What's the argument for Chuba? Like, he's catching passes now. Like, Jonathan Brooks is not a part of this season. He said, top 10 finishes, or sorry, top 12 finishes, five weeks and the other two were like, not that bad. - Yeah. - Like Chuba is the least sexy, totally legit elite running back. - Yeah, and he gets the Saints twice coming up. - Oh, my gosh. - And he's on my mortal enemy's team, so he's gonna be fine. - I think you just ride it out. - Don Ray Swift is on pace for 21 rushing touchdowns, despite running for 3.8 a carry. Don Ray Taylor needs to be traded, or you're gonna be probably bummed out about the rest of the season. - Yeah, you're gonna need them to target him. He's gonna have to get like 30 opportunities to game. Deandre Swift, I think it's worth the conversation. I, like, this is kind of what I thought was gonna happen for Deandre Swift. I thought he would be an excellent fantasy football running back. The 21 rushing touchdowns, though. The question, will, will Monongay be back? - No, it will. - And change when he comes back. - 'Cause Monongay was, Roshan is getting a couple touches here or there. Kyle, Monongay was a timeshare with Deandre Swift. - Because he produced at such a high level. - Yeah. - No, it's an important question, especially for the like, you know, touchdown opportunity. - Yeah, but Monongay's on this list. He's tied for 15th and points per game. - Yeah, I guess if we're looking points per game, I'll just read the other name so we can make a determination on who you think would fall out if you're watching. You can see him on the back wall. But Swift, Taylor, Kyron, Henry, Warren, Javonte, Beishalt, Tutton, Bucky Irving, who is emerging. By the way, Bucky Irving, I didn't know this, but I'm pleased. Fourth most rushing yards in the league and the easiest rest of season schedule for running backs. - Oh boy. - On a team that I think, I genuinely think they have discovered a new plan for the offense. With the loss of Mike Evans, the lack of emergence from Abouca to that level, right? - Abouca is not good enough to be. It doesn't seem like he's good enough to be a dominant one. You have a bunch of other miscellany in the receiver room with Tess. - Don't call me that, yeah. - Tess, John, what are you laughing at over there? You never heard that word? - No, what was the word? - Miscellany. - No, I definitely have never heard that word. - Yeah, like, you know, a plural of miscellaneous? - Someone talks about this. - It's gotta be a real word. - I don't know. - It sounds a lot like a name that probably shouldn't be mentioned. That's why I gave you the look. (laughing) - Evolving T? - No, you're fine. - Okay, I don't know. - It's on him. - I'm a fool. - Is it a real word, though? - That's what we need to know. - If it's not, I'm high. - Miles, we gotta go, okay. - Of course. - Kyle says yes. - I'm an idiot. - Well, we knew that before, this situation. But your laughter got me. Buckierving, easiest rest of season scheduled. Identity of this team seems to be running the football. You know, Al, I sent and removed a trade offer to you. Did you see it popped through for a split second? - I did not. - I had offered you, Jared Goff, or Kenny Gainwell, as the Buckierving manager. - Oh, I did see that. - And then I pulled it back 'cause I wasn't necessarily feeling it. But it was like, Kenny Gainwell to me is a really high priority ad for a team who's developing a running, like, a running philosophy in case Buckier, who has been hurt, goes down. And you don't have Lamar. - Right. - So, but it's a high priority for me to not give you guys that are a high priority for you. - Okay, Jordan Love, rest of season. All right, Ashen Gentie at 15 and Menongai at 15. Out of that giant list of 15 players, who's the most likely to fall out of that for the second half? I think Gentie's on that list. I think, I hate to say this 'cause it feels so disrespectful. But there's a chance Jalen Warren drops a little bit. - I think, I think Rico Doubles look good. - He has. - Is there anybody else on that top 15 that you're like, "Man, I don't have confidence in them." And, you know, the names outside the top 15 right now, Pollard, Briece Hall, Braylon Allen, Ramandre, Juddkins, Chase Brown at 22. - Yeah, that's what happens when you score no touchdowns. - Right, as they count for points. - Chase Brown has actually been okay-ish. But, when you don't score touchdowns, man, you can't compete. Javante, I would say he carries concern just because Javante is, he goes as the Dallas Cowboys offense goes. And. - He. - Dude, I think the team would be better if they didn't play Javante. What are you, what are you, what are you, what's going on, cackles? - It was Mussolini. - Yes. - I didn't get- - Oh, you're just getting the joke. - I'm just getting the joke. - Ah! - I'm so mad I got the joke, because I used that word. And now I won't be able to without thinking about you thinking that. - Cali! - So you thought I was saying there's a bunch of Mussolini. - I thought you just misspoke. - Okay, yeah, I just worked Mussolini in the conversation. - You make sense. - I misspoke. - Cali, it took me way too long. - Oh my goodness, all right. - For the record, we don't like that guy. - No, not at all. - Let's go on formal record here. - Sometimes here, when you're in the public, guys, you gotta like publicly state just so- - No, we disavow all just so we're on the clear. - Missolini, you're laughing at me. - Mussolini, no. - Thumbs down. - Two thumbs. - Two thumbs down for Mussolini. - Wish I had more thumbs. - J. Gris also opposed. But guys that can move up into that, make a run. Let's put it that way. It obviously seems like Chase Brown is still in that conversation, you can get in the end zone. Jonah Coleman, which Chase Brown did score last week, but it was called back. - I am sweatier now than when that joke was first brought up. What about Jonah Coleman? What about Ollie Gordon? Are those guys that you think could be in the top 15? - I don't, neither one. - No, because you don't think Coleman will be given the keys. - Correct. - And Harvey will be back. Jakey Dobbins will get goal line touchdowns every once in a while. And Ollie Gordon, there's the team is, for how wrong I was about Ollie Gordon being a pick up, he has really helped teams that did, but the team is just not good enough to sustain top 15 numbers. For a player who doesn't catch passes. - Does that mean you don't have somebody in the top 15, you think is on the way out? - I'd be concerned about Javonte. - Ashton Jentie just from a point of what is going on here, really hurt is he just not capable of being a Russia at the NFL level. Uh, that it's not a, this is not a, like, I think Mike Washington is so much better than Jenty not at all. Now, but you've seen enough a year and a half of Jenty not being efficient running the ball. Correct. And there can only one guy's getting a carry at a time. And if the team, if the coaches decide we're going to move forward with Mike Washington running the ball, we're just going to keep throwing the ball to Jenty. You got to catch a lot of passes and have a lot of broken place to maintain your numbers at this level. It does seem like. Uh, Kubiak has come in and said, like, performance is going to be the dictator of, uh, well, not the dictator. Don't use that. Don't use that word, right? I'm sorry. It's going to be the determiner. Yes. There we go. Of the goodness gracious. How is this? I blame out completely much. It was for the record. Also, two thumbs down for all dictators. One, two, two thumbs down. It doesn't matter if it's, you know, no, it was just. There's a miscellany of dictators out there. There we go. And we thumbs down for all of them publicly, not afraid to say. Well, you know, it's afraid to say, Jason's afraid to sing. Oh, it's why he's not here. Yeah. Um, and that's has something, right? Frey to say it. We got a ad break. We're taking a break for ads. We're coming back to wide receivers. Two thumbs down. All right. Wide receivers points per game. Mike, you ready? Happy. Yeah. Jason. Uh, I think he's, I think he's going to stay. He is, uh, he's got seven of eight weeks above 19 points. Do you know how awesome that is for fantasy managers? I, I'm tempted to make out more than a trade offer for him that he couldn't refuse just so he has to give them up. You know, like if I said, you're interesting. Oh, you wouldn't be able to turn that down. Would you? Or would you? Would you turn one for one? Are we talking in legal record? Yeah. Yeah. One because I haven't been both leagues. I was just, uh, no, I'm a wager. Uh, that it'd be a lot harder to turn that down in legal record. It's the most ever to start a season seven out of eight weeks. He is accounting currently. Uh, the numbers I'm seeing 68% of the wide receiver yards. That's crazy. Six, they're going to need to find their form for with this season. So you're going to need to figure some stuff out beyond him points for game. Pukin of Kua is sitting at number two. He is, uh, the only real option right now. You do worry about Stafford in the injury reports, no Devonte Adams, whatever. Pukin's there. It's fine. CD Lam at three, 17.3 points per game. Number one in targets, two in receptions, three in receiving yards. All right, Mike, it's your time to shine. T Higgins and T Higgins at number four. It's my guy that I have nowhere this year. I know because you finally were like, you know what? I'm going to just take a year off of T Higgins. And he's healthy and producing. He whenever he's been healthy, he's been a superstar for the Bengals and for fantasy football. I mean, he's T Higgins. So even I'm like, yeah, I mean, if a guy's going to get hurt, it's probably T Higgins. But he's just, he's running so nuclear hot right now. Three games. So 157, 148, 155. I mean, yeah, I'll hit it like that. Three of his seven games. He's been basically at 150 yards and the two other ones. He's at 90 or or a higher. He's just, he's running really high. Would he be, would he be a trade away candidate? No. Okay. No, no, no, no, no, no. Just let me ask you, let me bring up names later on this list and find out because there's a couple that I think you, you might entertain. I'm on our same brown comes in at five. He's at 16.4, fantasy points per game. He's always there and he always will be Christian Watson is number six. From the ambulance back to the field on pace for 89, 1513. Jamar Chase is at seven. I mean, do you, do you find yourself disappointed with the season so far for Chase? Have you? Yes. You haven't had the dominating kind of game weak winning weeks yet? Yeah. You, you have, I mean, the last week was pretty weak winning for you. And it like week two is 23 points. Week three was over 20. So he does have three games over 20, which is, I mean, that's pretty hard to lose when you get that from that output from one player. He's, he's had a couple of duds. Meanwhile, T Higgins is, is elevated his game. So that, I think that's just, it's just the comparison. It's the thief of joy. Like when you're looking over at, well, why isn't Jamar doing with T Higgins? Mike, just in case you want to track along with the breaking news that's coming out about John, the Taylor. Oh, oh, Colts. Who's interested? This is a report. And the Broncos interest is not bringing it straight to you, Mike. I don't want you to miss it. Colts head coach Shane Stuykin on the question. Why play John, the Taylor with trade speculation. Quote, he's on our football team. Yeah, but why not actually play him then? No, I'm just giving you the news. Why would you give your foundational piece of the rebuild because you have, you're rebuilding now because you stole other guys and you suck and you're not good. So you're getting ready for the future and you're like, this is the foundation. We're going to give him eight carries. That's right. Make it make sense. Uh, Jamar chase it seven, Zay flowers. Oh, man, Zay flowers at eight and he's going to be the, do we have any? Do you want some sad music? I don't, I don't know what we can legally play anymore in the sad music, but I'm going to push this button. Mike, is this your, do you need to say kind of like your final goodbye to this guy? Because it does feel like it. Zay, you, uh, man, you, you got that money. You showed everyone that it was worth the investment. It's time to let you go. I mean, it sucks. He's going to make some plays the rest of the year. He will, but it won't be. He'll give you a tiny bit of hope and we're just, I'm putting them on my bench. Just crossing my fingers that some some team is like, Hey, we got to back up. You want them? And they're like, are you sure? And then then Zay flowers, you know, if you went there, it would be awesome for Zay flower. Yeah. Uh, Devonte Adams is sitting there at 14.5 just not for the Ravens, but for Zay flowers for Zay flowers. Chris Olave at 14.3 Devonte Smith at 14 Malignavers at 13.8 Matthew Golden, Nico Collins, Mike Evans, Ted McMillan, I feel like the biggest discussions are here at wide receiver. The question I was going to ask you is whether you would flip T Higgins for like Chris Olave and it seems interesting. Maybe no. No, uh, with, with the offensive environment, I'd rather have T Higgins. I mean, if you're going to trade him for like almond raw, for whatever reason, if someone has almond raw, they're like, man, look, what T Higgins is doing. I'm open to that. Yeah, I would do that in a heartbeat. Uh, but one guy's, one guy's a dog. Yeah, other than that, I mean, may, if you, uh, want to take the shot, would you say, would you say it in firm? Yeah, I was saying Malignavers. Malignavers, it's, it's difficult, though, because it's, you have one full gain, you know, five quarters of J.J. McCarthy. And even, I, I feel like the most diehard of J.J. McCarthy truth is you can't look at that. Be like, yep, we're good to go. It's for sure going to happen. It might. Yeah. But it's, we'll see. We need, we need some more. But Malig has been pretty great. Uh, you have Nico down at 14. I think he's somebody that can move up. I agree. I, I see Devonte Smith as somebody that, you know, unfortunately, has a bit of a flower situation. Yeah, it doesn't seem as bad, but he's also, I mean, Ben Hurt, he's been hurt. He's missed four games here with a hamstring injury, two separate stints of it. So it was a re-aggravation. That he is, he's a scary proposition of we haven't received. I don't think we're getting full news on how bad the injury is. And they got, so they have the giants this week. Then it's the buy week. So like, do you play Smith this week when you get a freebie the next week? I don't know. I'm, I'm concerned about him. I'm going to read some names that are outside the top 15. He tell me if they're going to be bounced back candidates for the second half of the year or you don't believe. Okay. Justin Javerson at 18. No, uh, Garrett Wilson at 21. No, Drake London at 23. Yes. Uh, let's go George Pickens at 28. Uh, he'll bounce back from 28. He won't finish that low. Omega Buka 34. I don't think so. DJ more at 37. Yes. And uh, Rashi Rice at 35. Yeah. He'll be, he'll be okay. If I look at that, those top names, flowers in Devante Smith, those guys are going to drop out of the list. I think Mike Evans dealing with the injuries at 50. Well, the thing about Mike Evans is his points for game can't move. That is true. That's true. So I actually think points for game wise. He might stay there. He's pretty safe there because he either it doesn't go down or he plays and he's awesome when he plays football. Tight ends, Mike. Let's, uh, let's close out our mid season review here at the tight end position. And number one in points for game Brock Bowers at 17.2. Yeah, I feel good about that one. Tremac bride 14.7. Think so. And then there's the rest. is how it feels, and maybe not, but Isaiah likely is third right now at 13.1. Second most Targon's target's among all tight ends. He's the same thing as Malik. If you want to believe I, you're okay for it. Would you rather have Kittle who's at four or likely? Yes. I'd rather have George Kittle. Would you rather have Laporta at five or likely? Oh, I mean basically what happens is it's a port of scores of touchdown. You're happy if he doesn't. I think I'd rather have, I'll take, I'll take the target. I'll take likely. Mike is sick. What? That's six. Michael got sick. He's tied with Tyler Warren and Travis Kelsey basically and then don't concade. Fanon at 10 is emerging. He could. Tucker crashed at 12. Holston lovelins at 19. Kyle pits at 21. So, you know, when, when you think about dropping out of the top 10, I think Kelsey is in that consideration. I think Warren is going to be, it's going to be tough. I agree. Because I don't know how good this offense like without a touchdown. Tyler Warren is not a 45 yard play guy. Correct. I'm guessing I don't give a, I don't think you're staying around. So guys that can emerge out of there, Mike, Tucker craft. All the same questions as the previous one. Okay. Yes or no bounce back or bouncing to relevance for the rest of season every week. Start Tucker craft. Yes. Lovelin. Yes. Hawkinson. Man. Probably. He's, he's so difficult because of how, I mean, if you're just, I did, I unfortunately have to admit, I watched some rounds. Okay. And I thought he looked good. You thought he looked all right. I did. Yeah. Maybe, maybe he's fully back. It's just how many weeks in a row, can you have fellas working together in a tight knit family community during the locker room? Yeah. And you have Justin Jefferson who's looking over it like, why does TJ Hawkinson keep getting the ball? Like if I'm Jefferson. Yeah. I'm in Tyler Murray's face. That out a little bit. And I'm saying, why is TJ Hawkinson getting the ball? I am open on every play. And if Kyle's like, no, you were covered. You are, sir, you're mistaken. You saw it. There is no covering me. If I am on the field, I am open. Yeah. I'm Justin Jefferson. Yes. Yes. Throw me the ball. Nice to meet you. Kyle Pits. Last one for you. I, yeah, probably. I mean, Kyle Pits was, was doing, I mean, if you had to lock in for a rest of season, get sickier Kyle Pits. You'd, I would take Kyle Pits. Okay. Pits was heating up and then ran into that the, the rain storm game. Yeah. Which that game, that game ruined. I was thinking about that for this whole, for this whole show. But like Drake London's points for game and Kyle Pits points for game were really nullified by a rain storm to a larger degree. Yes. We're kind of doing well with Michael Pinnix before that. So we do have the report, not only is Jordan Tyson designated to return. He is participating in practice via Nick Andre Hill. I got to remove Jason from our slack channel here. Hold on a second. Let me do that. Godly, dude. This is a thing now. This is a thing now. We had almost escaped an entire episode without hearing from him. And he just shows up in this slack channel and post the most exceptional, exceptional things. So he's doing great. There you go. Any other news? Any trades going down? Dude, so many rumors. Let's spread some of our own. Yeah. No, I'm, I'm hearing the, the Arizona Cardinals could be open to moving. Jeremiah love. Let's see. What else do we got? Who are some really? Justin Herbert. They're listening. They're they're they're willing to listen. I got a quarter of an eye open. We'll keep my eye on the Justin Herbert situation. Let's see. The Rams crazy. Oh, really? You're hearing stuff. It's crazy here and stuff about stuff. Who come? Really? They're open. Because he doesn't have a long term. Not publicly. Not publicly. No, no, just back. Everything is back channeled. I mean, Ken Walker. I heard that Kansas City. They're they might be open to interest to getting some something back for for Kenneth Walker. Interesting. Tony Pollard. Tony Pollard should go to a team. He's actually. He should. He should help somebody. He does not deserve this. He is doing so well. Running uphill with that offensive line. Like Calvin Ridley. Deserved what happened on the Titans, just because of how bad he was. Peat plate. Tony Pollard doesn't deserve to be on a bad team. Our league of record. Our waivers are about to go through. But 30 minutes ago, you guys, the doosters while you're supposed to be doosing, you guys are just making a trade. Is that accurate? Yeah. I needed to get somebody off my roster before waivers with. And so you got rid of RJ Harvey. Yeah. Who didn't you buy? RJ Harvey with like 15 from from the same people. Yeah. And you sold them back. So you bought them for how much? I think 14 fab. And this is a couple weeks ago. 13 fab. And you sold it back to Papa Josh for four. Yep. Well, that's a bad investment. I was going to have to drop them. So that's called what buying high selling low. Yeah. I mean, that got hurt. It's kind of the opposite of buying low selling high. Yeah. Of the of the like the tool. I'm number one. I'm not getting my money back on Lamar Jackson. I'm just you know, no, you want a dollar offer you a dollar of fab. I'm kind of delaying here because I would love to at least you're going to have to delay like five minutes. So we got a deal. I guess we got a. I can hold on. Hold on. You got rumors. Tell me some more. Traveey on Henderson. Maybe. Maybe. The Miami dolphins. I know they just signed Devon Hian. Right. To that huge contract. But they're open. They're open. Yeah. You know, that that brings to mind. I'm actually open to training any of my players in my fantasy league. I'm open to. Okay. Have a conversation. I will say this. Like this would be a good time, you know, like to join the foot claim while we're waiting for this to go certainly. And you can come hang out with us for those of you out there that are the super dorks. Not Mike and I. No, not nerd dorks. We just play video games. Oh my god. We're so cool. But we're like the cool. Yeah. But then there's the dorks out there. And if the dorks want to come play some World of Warcraft. I wear a cut off denim vest. Right. Wow. I play because you're cool. Uh huh. Yeah. I don't know. And you pull up to your house in a firebird. I know. Yeah. It's sunglasses. Yes. You think I play wow without sunglasses. We do. It's this is worth saying with the brand and I you stuff. The commanders are said they're not expected to be in the market. Which is crazy because they were rumored to be in the market when there was Terry McClaude. And brand and I you destroyed any semblance of a career that he had saying I got to get to the commanders. All right. Well, we will shut it down. This is never going to go through. So we'll catch you on tomorrow's show. We got tons of matchups to get into. Mike will actually know what time it is on tomorrow's show. Could be some all time. Could be football time. And uh two thumbs down for dictators. That's right. Goodbye. Thank you for listening to another episode of the fantasy footballers podcast. Mike Evans and Devonte Adams are top performers, but injuries and inconsistent performance are concerns. Mike is projecting T Higgins and Chris Olave as key players, while Jamar Chase and Zay Flowers face uncertainty.
