In this episode, David Dobrik welcomes his younger brother Toby, a 17-year-old high school senior, along with John, to the podcast. The conversation opens with playful teasing about Toby’s height (6’2”) and David’s jealousy, before diving into Toby’s life. Toby discusses his focus on soccer, his disinterest in drinking or partying, and his reluctance to date during senior year, citing the uncertainty of the future. He reveals a past five-year relationship that ended due to a move, and he’s open to reconnecting if they end up at the same college.
David shifts to a serious topic, reading a news article about Penn State fraternity brothers charged with drug trafficking, which leads to a discussion about hazing and college life. The conversation then turns to family dynamics, with Toby admitting he’s closest to his sister Sarah and sharing that his siblings have criticized John, which David defends against. David also recounts a harrowing illness he suffered after returning from Africa, describing severe diarrhea and constipation in graphic detail, which he attributes to contaminated water.
The episode includes a debate about cheating in school, where David argues for helping others, while Toby disagrees. David encourages Toby to start a YouTube channel, but Toby is hesitant. The podcast wraps up with lighthearted banter about family hugging habits and Toby’s Instagram handle, followed by a sponsor segment for Sea Geek. Overall, the episode blends humor, family insights, and candid conversations about growing up and health challenges.
what's up guys welcome back to views we are back with another episode this time we have
toby dobrik my younger brother 17 years old so we say what's up what's up what's up we got him
joining us on the podcast hey toby what's good what are you doing man how tall are you now i'm
six two whoa that's real that actually sounds like a 17 year old making a joke but uh he's
actually six two i'm five ten which is fucking should be illegal by the way yeah what happened
what did toby eat his vegetables and you didn't i don't know i don't know what the difference is
between me and toby i mean it's obvious can i also say that i feel like i would have utilized
the height way better than he's utilizing it interesting because he plays you play soccer
you don't need height it actually probably hurts you no a lot of people
are
really well i do social media where i would fucking crush i date girls so i get laid
motherfucker coming really handy for me when i was at the club i'm trying to get back at him
no it's all jokes now but in like five years i'm actually gonna start to get jealous yeah well you
could get height surgery i don't i don't think i'm really there really um but he's going into
senior year which is very exciting yep and also john is here um we brought him in so he can match
toby's iq
so toby's not nervous he has another peer around him all right two high schoolers
toby whenever whenever you feel nervous try to have a conversation with john
um way to make toby feel comfortable yeah thank you that's awesome no no john's actually a really
smart guy toby what's the what's the toughest challenges you face as a 17 year old going into
senior year um oh that's a good question that's that's a pretty good question i actually don't
have you been offered drugs yet
uh in like eighth grade seventh grade what did you say oh i said uh sure no i'm just kidding
because i didn't want it to mess with like soccer or anything so i just kind of yeah but sometimes
it can enhance sometimes if you take the right things it's not going to mess with it's going to
help you yeah i wasn't taking that risk okay well the right steroids will get you really far
i actually wanted to read you this article toby just because you're going to be in
you're going to be in college soon this just happened jay this is two hours ago
third uh 13 penn state fraternity brothers charged with running a major cocaine trafficking ring
penn state's a good school yeah with some pledges allegedly forced to cut and package cocaine
as part of their indoctrination indoctrination into the frat what yeah they were being hazed
by cutting cocaine no yeah which is kind of crazy wow that's a terrible way to like not have the
cops come what would not have the cops well yeah you're telling a bunch having a bunch of freshmen
do it someone's gonna squeak a squeal yeah but you're making like good money for the frat
but i feel i maybe that's actually how they got busted they probably had like zed and diplo
and djing every weekend yo how y'all how y'all affording this shit
um you wouldn't do that right if you got into a frat no would you be in a frat i don't think so
not a frat guy i'm not a party guy toby doesn't drink nice doesn't smoke nice uh is very good at
it though far as you know love no no no he is this is no i well actually no i hear from my sisters too
yeah who like would give like the real tea oh yeah um like he really reminds me of like wyatt
like like good guy yeah yeah i've only i've only read it on wyatt except for my brothers here
i'm like i love wyatt why it's six three by the way is he really i don't think toby's done growing
yeah no no definitely not what position you played soccer i play left wing
really yeah i don't know do you have a girlfriend no i do not do you want one right up with the mic
toby go john john dude john i already know what john's gonna say did you hear him stutter
no he's he's gonna ask you if you have a boyfriend right no i was gonna i was actually gonna ask if
you have friends that are under six foot oh oh yeah yeah because usually when you have one six
foot you surround yourself with other tall trees it's something about it i thought you were gonna
ask him if he had a boyfriend because john has been wanting my little brother to be gay
so bad because because his brother's gay okay that's a crazy statement you're putting out there
toby all this time yeah so toby if there's any time if there's any person to say that to first
it's john because john will be stoked dude i'd be so stoked i mean not not you're gay but like
i'm just saying i'd be so stoked for you i mean for for for for somebody i don't know me
um okay so no you're not even looking at girls at this moment no because it's kind of awkward
because it's like senior year so like you know like where is it gonna go yeah yeah wait but
this is like literally the time to have like a high school crush and like i mean i have crushes
but i'm not you don't do you do any of them know that you have a crush on them probably i'm pretty
obvious but i don't think so wait wait wait what does that mean you're pretty obvious like i'm
obviously gonna like talk to them over like my friends in the class or something or i don't
know i just don't want to like do anything like any relationships right now because it's like
senior year so like what do you mean like yeah dude but you're also like even if it wasn't senior
year if it was freshman year of college like you just have to date people just so you like
because then when you start dating people in the real world you want to be ready and you want to
know like what you hate and what you don't like yeah yeah so you don't want to just like date
someone for like a month or two no i have done that oh oh so you have had a girlfriend yeah
oh i didn't know that how long it lasts for um oh wait is this the one
still from fucking over and out no no uh my longest was that one which was like five years
five years whoa okay more than david yeah why are you giving him advice yeah how did you do that
five years we're in like seventh grade he's probably already five foot fucking 11
in the fourth grade that helps yeah wait what happened with her i just moved
oh right wait that's it you guys didn't want to go
long distance no do you still do you still talk to her or no uh yeah i have her snapchat and stuff
but is there is there a chance that that would ever i don't want to put you on the spot
like uh if we ever like go to the same college or something yeah i think so
because we left on a good note i hope so i don't think he's got your romance steve that's sick
wait are you ever well let's see if he has my jealousy are you ever seeing if uh
she's dating anyone currently yeah who doesn't do that okay okay and anything any signs
i mean i don't i don't care if she's dating i just it's not my problem okay but is she do you know
i don't think so okay okay okay wow that's fucking that's good it's good news but also
even if she is it doesn't matter yeah you know because it is high school yeah so i do i do suggest
well what do you want to focus on this year that's like that's not allowing you to date someone
like focus do some drugs i mean oh like hobby wise yeah uh just soccer for now is it because
you're too locked into soccer that you're not allowing yourself to like see someone
no again i just don't want to like you know it's like he's a politician being pressed
no again it's like i stated with cnn like i just don't feel like this is not no more questions
yeah yeah it's just um are you gonna play soccer in college uh hopefully yeah i'll see how far it
goes where you want to go to school i was thinking overseas oh yeah to academy but you never know
what's going on this is how we're going to do it
we're very different yeah it's like toby yeah i i think it's because he's from here yeah i think
i'd be the same way yeah he like he is uh he like romanticizes yeah okay that's good john nice john
holy fuck damn good stuff i take back what i said earlier you said a lot of things already
and you even said you started off this podcast by saying i'm not gonna make fun of john
i said that you said it yeah i said it it's not me uh yeah like he like
romanticizes like slovakia yeah i didn't say slovakia yeah like europe yeah yeah yeah yeah
because you you were born here i was born in illinois yeah yeah so i could see why i could
see why that would yeah do you know what i mean because it's backwards um you could see yourself
living in europe yeah yeah for sure like when you visit europe what feeling did you have when you
when you touched down because you're one of the first times that you visited as like a conscious
human was a couple months or years ago that wasn't my first time yeah but that
was yeah that was like when you were like oh yeah when you could actually process living somewhere
um i i i liked it i liked how like everyone was calm and stuff i went to budapest and i thought
it was like really nice okay so you could like but when you were leaving like when i left la
i had like this like soup like the first time i visited la i had this like super lame like out
of a disney movie i looked outside the window and i was like i'm leaving i lose internally i said
i'm leaving my home and like i knew that i was leaving my home did you feel that when you were
in hungary and i don't think i was
that like uh what is it like john what's the word he's looking for oh sorry
well now's not a good time
john quick i have 30 seconds okay i don't know yeah no i don't think i was like that aware of
like oh this could be my life or something because there's like a lot of different other
options and like opportunities so like i wasn't really would you ever be a youtuber
i was thinking that like with sarah as like a gamer or something dude sarah hates to be on camera
do you know there's this big argument
i have with my siblings yeah you explain toby um i don't really i wasn't there so you can't
toby hates to be in the middle of this shit it's so funny yeah you can't really you can't really
put me here i wasn't i wasn't there i don't know the beef or anything what happened well i filmed
the house tour yeah of my sister's apartment yeah and it's really fun yeah like it was it was on my
tiktok it was just a vertical video yeah and it's like it's like hey what do you guys where do you
how much you guys pay for rent in new york like i did that outside on the street with them and it's
like really fun you get to see my sisters and then we go inside and i find out my sister has
like a tongue piercing yeah so then it's like this then it turns into this whole argument about like
you can't post this because our mom will know yeah blah blah blah or whatever and it was just
like a really real sibling moment and like i've never ever captured anything like that like a
real argument like that because i don't live with them yeah so it felt like i was like living with
them for like five ten years and i was like really in the middle of it it was like the first time i've
ever actually experienced yeah like something of that level and i think that's why it means so much
to me and my siblings don't understand why i like it so much at my and sarah won't let me post it
because she doesn't like the way she looks in it right which esther and i don't understand because
she looks completely fine in it yeah um it's just such a funny video damn and i see it yeah i'll
show you in fact it's a banger but like every every anytime my sister's ever asked me for
anything or or anything i'm always like will you let me post that it's from it's three years old
now yeah um but like i always bring it up and they go what the fuck is wrong with you and i understand
i'm coming at it like a complete psycho like i should totally drop it yeah but like i just i
tend to latch on to things yeah quite a bit no for sure i'm like no i get that if i had a good
piece of footage with wyatt and charlie and they wouldn't let me post it i'd be so upset i also
yeah but three years you'd still remind them but like john john the reason is because like
like i i truly truly like when i capture things it like is like
i get to check this off in my in my head of like when i capture things i genuinely feel like i'm
capturing it in my soul like i don't like i like when i record a video like i feel like i'm like
completing part of my soul yeah and like and like i've gotten to do all the car surprises i've gotten
to do surprising my parents i've gotten to and like that feels like a like a piece of thing i've
never gotten to capture all right yeah like it feels like it's so i don't know i forget sometimes
i gotta put in like david's hat but when he holds a camera yeah but when you're like oh my god i'm
also too like family stuff is the best stuff it's so yeah even if you're just hanging out like you
never laugh harder with family yeah it's just the best stuff and that was that was the first time
where i was like in the middle of it i was like oh this is really like i could see how you guys live
with each other yeah like full time it's how you process stuff it's how i and like yeah i process
things through video and i totally understand that nobody understands that but like that's
right baked into me unfortunately or fortunately um tell me what do you think of your brother
uh like what do you mean what do you think of him
oh he's cool do you like look up to him um in some parts yeah but
okay which part back up there buddy are you close with him do you if you had a problem would you go
to david um like depends on the problem but i like how like he's like dedicated to like whatever he's
doing nice that's that's pretty cool yeah me too yeah like you you like you appreciate how dedicated
he is yeah yeah
job and stuff and how far he's come of course of course yeah that's nice of course of course
next question all right yeah uh what else what else do you think about him what don't you like
about him oh god here it goes the classic i'll just keep it short and i'm just kidding
i really don't know i mean i assume it's i should probably come by more
yeah of course like that too of course of course isn't it funny when they get older and then
they're like a threat
it's terrifying and when they're on your podcast yeah and i could say anything yeah
yeah no it's really scary it's funny when they get older and they're like remember when you did
that to me and i'm like oh yeah you're bigger than me now that's really funny yeah i'll go
through that with the kids i talked to toby about this this one fucking time i was trying to film a
vine with him yeah you were like what i don't know two i was filming a vine with you where i was
on your head it was 2015 probably 2014 no 2000 2012 or 13 oh okay this is like you're in high
school three four yeah okay so like and there was like a time we were filming a vine he started
crying yeah he was undoubtedly the cutest like kid alive yeah like fucking out of a movie sure
and we were filming this thing and he like just started crying and i was like i was so mad at him
i was like you have no idea how fucking like i i always look at puppies too right right like i'm
like if you guys can channel your cuteness yeah and i tried to explain that to him when he was
three i was like if you could just lock the fuck in here you don't realize how cute you are yeah
go far with this so now now i've gotten to take that up with him i'm like yeah you really i don't
remember the bb one i poured a bunch of i think bbs are like a really weird way of describing what
i did it was a bunch of airsoft bullets and i poured it on your head there were green bullets
these green little pellets and they made a mess and you like tried catching them with your tiny
paws paws you don't remember
no i remember doing a handstand in front of a bunch of animals it's like the craziest things
i've asked him to do and then like the spider-man one or superman i remember you had me try to
swallow knives then you have me jump off a roof or something that's really funny guys if you're
looking to do something this summer there's a good chance it involves getting tickets which
is why i want to give the sponsor of today's video sea geek a huge shout out with over 35 million
downloads sea geek is the number one rated ticketing app there are more than 70 000 events
listed on sea geek including concerts sports festivals and more all you got to do download

good red means bad plus every ticket is backed by the buyer guarantee guys listen jason's kids
they have a band it's no longer called the great big cow yeah what is called it's called nudie nudie
so if you want to go see them
yeah there's a good chance to get tickets yeah you can get them on sea the best place to get
them would be sea geek literally for any kind of event we're talking about sporting events
concerts um even sermons anything it's the best uh to make it even better you can use code views
10 for 10 off your tickets that's 10 off tickets with promo code views 10 on sea geek thank you
who do you think in our family i don't know it's really hard to ask
questions without like starting fucking beef okay like you're within the family do you know i mean
yeah because this is like this is going to be the most listened to episode from my family
who's the best person in your family who do you yeah who are you closest to i'm closest to sarah
because like yeah we used to share a room uh it's only three years apart so yeah oh you guys are
like really on the same wavelength i guess so same brain cell damn i guess sarah flipped me
off at the party oh yeah oh yeah yeah how about that what tell us how your siblings
feel about jason um they they're just talking about how your editing skills are not the best
i don't know i think you're a cool guy i don't know thanks toby who do your siblings not like
the most in the friend group of your friend group yeah john what i don't agree with at all john's so
cool what wait you don't agree with that yeah john's cool all your what's wrong with your
sisters man it's really weird they said this i've never brought this up to john yeah i'm surprised
he even said it wow wait i want to hear this i'm surprised he just read it yeah it's you wow
isn't that weird yeah that's crazy i know what that i don't even i don't even know what i've
done to him what is that i know what that is why because like you hold john in such high regard
and john ostensibly really doesn't do anything special but like he's just john just has it he
just has it everyone thinks that way about john so i think in some way maybe they're feeling like
a little jealous like they're not closer with you the way you right they don't hate john
they don't like i don't know you answer that pretty quick you said my name pretty quick there
because i thought i thought everyone knew that i'm sorry damn no wait not like that what could
they possibly what did i do i just want to know i'm curious i remember in the car on christmas i
think oh dude we're getting a fucking real we're getting the real story here i think you already
said this like um uh what was that i'm terrible at explaining stories but you tell it yeah no he's
just saying there's
talk shit about john yeah and and then she needed to borrow a credit card and i was like we'll give
you one if you take back what you said about alex uh and she's like i didn't say that about alex i
said that about john okay yeah yeah what did she say about i don't know i don't know yeah i'm still
i'm still lost i'm not saying like they hate you i'm saying they talk shit about you most
a lot of people talk shit about me honestly so
add it to the list why did sarah why did sarah flip me off at the party i don't know i didn't
even know she flipped you off i was just waving to you and then you yeah you were you were you
were upstairs on the deck yeah i said toby and then i looked over and i in my eyes aren't so
good i go esther oh yeah that's but it was sarah and then she flipped me off yeah yeah because you
guys mixed her oh you got the wrong one i mean you got the wrong name yeah but i mean whatever
enough about you jake what did i do
yeah all right why don't we let sarah edit the podcast hey we gotta stop this john
just john slander here hey yeah okay all right i'm going to stop this john slander here hey yeah
i'm curious about this one um i don't know what i did toby generally doesn't know but i'm just
saying like in general we just gotta we gotta we gotta put a cap in it it's enough
Every time John comes here, he's berated.
I know that's kind of the joy of John, but I don't like it in a public setting.
I don't like people, because we only give them the part that we're mad at.
Yes.
So they don't get the rest.
So it really paints the wrong perception, so it's not fair.
I played Catan with John Saturday night, and he was like-
Fuck that story.
Tell me how dumb he was.
All right, what do you do?
And he was the man.
You should have seen the tables turned.
It'd be like if you're on the tennis court with you.
Yeah, actually.
So we were playing Catan.
Naveen and I have no idea what's going on.
John's like, shouldn't have gone that way, Jay.
You know I don't play chess because of John?
Oh, because he's good?
Yeah.
Really?
Because he beats me.
You beat David in chess?
Easily.
I mean, I don't understand chess.
Dude, that is a sign of high IQ.
I don't care what you say.
He just doesn't play chess.
I don't want to get into what it is, but I won't even start playing chess.
Really?
Because he's already ahead of me in it.
How many hours does it take him to beat you?
I'm sure he could beat me in-
15 minutes.
In the least amount of moves possible.
Really?
I mean, it just depends.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
There's no chance in which I'd beat him.
Damn.
How could you challenge him for money?
We did, and then we ended it.
That's why we play pool now, and then he has to give me handicaps.
Yeah, I'd rather play a sport that I'm going to beat him at, but give him a serious handicap.
Right.
My favorite in pool is what we do.
Sometimes I'll be beating him by a lot, and then at the end, I'll allow him to switch the balls.
So I take over his balls, so I'll have one left, but he'll have five balls left, and then he'll be like, switch.
Same bet, but now I have to put in additional five balls, which honestly is easy, because he has to put in one, and it's usually in a tough spot.
So I could work the balls around it, too, and really fuck him, so I usually still win.
Yeah.
I like that.
It's double fun.
Alex hates when I play with John, because Alex. Because John loves handicaps.
I love handicaps.
There's something about it.
And Alex is just like, that's so fucking lame.
Like, you're not actually playing. I don't know.
Yeah, I played John in pool today, and I was giving him so much free advice, because I knew he wasn't going to hit it anyway.
Yeah.
It's just like, yeah.
I mean, I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know what it is.
I just like it when it's 50-50.
Yeah.
I try and make it as much as 50-50, because I know I'm not better.
Through handicaps, you're making it 50-50.
Through handicaps, yeah.
Jay, do you know what happened?
You don't have no idea what happened to me the last three days.
I just found out.
From my mom?
No.
The girls told me when I came in, when Naveen and I came in.
What did they say?
Well, Naveen came in and said, Jason lost eight pounds.
And then they all laughed, and I went, so did David.
I actually lost exactly eight pounds.
Did you really?
Yeah.
Isn't that crazy?
That's why I was making the joke.
From the D?
Yeah.
Well, I guess I got to say it.
I got to fucking say it like a man.
Yeah.
We got back from South Africa, filmed that, or recorded that podcast with you.
Yeah.
And then I went to bed, and I woke up like, could not move my body, body aches.
Ooh.
And I had diarrhea like no other.
Wow.
I mean, like, like.
I'm glad we're talking about this this deep in the podcast, so only the true listeners
can hear this part.
Oh, God.
True pervert.
Because I'm always really scared that a girl that has a crush on me in that moment will
be like, what's he talking about?
Like, there's no way she's sitting through all this this far.
So now I can open up, as I did the last three days, open up.
If anyone likes David, just turn it off.
If anyone has a crush on me.
Yeah.
If you have a crush on David, turn this part off or skip ahead.
Okay.
So here we go.
So, yeah, it was really bad.
It was like, I've never, and I'm going to be, I'm being dead ass right now, okay?
Okay.
From 8 p.m. to 8 in the morning, I slept for like about 20 minutes, but I had diarrhea,
every 20 minutes, and I went through four rolls of toilet paper.
Damn.
Which is in-fucking-sane.
Can I even, I'll even take it one step further.
I shit myself.
It was so bad.
No way.
I had no idea.
I couldn't control it, and I was-
Did you get to the point where there was nothing coming out, but you were still on the toilet?
Well, it wasn't just diarrhea.
Yeah.
I was constipated.
Oh.
Yeah.
You ever fucking, you ever been hit with that shit?
I don't understand.
No, I've never had that.
Okay, so let me explain it to you.
Imagine-
Constipation.
I sent this to Natalie.
Now, I was keeping Natalie updated all about my diarrhea.
I was like, imagine this-
Good.
Imagine your buttholes there, right?
It's really tiny, right?
So small.
Yeah, we know.
We know you've got the smallest butthole.
And then you have, Toby, you listening?
Yep.
And then you have like a platform, almost like-
A platform, just a wall of shit, right?
Yeah.
And it's like not allowing to go through, but the liquid goes around it.
Oh my God.
So every time you diarrhea, you're not ever actually done.
And it feels like you still need to go really bad.
Yeah.
Because that, like, there's still a wall of whatever that is just there.
The diarrhea is kind of coming around.
This is so descriptive.
It's like seeping out.
Yes.
But not coming out.
But not coming out.
Wow.
So you're never like, ugh, cleared it out.
You're always on like, there's another bad.
And are you ever like so fucking sick or miserable where like in your brain it starts to feel like a video game?
Do you know what I'm saying?
I will see-
Again, I'm being completely honest.
It's like obviously the world evaporates.
It's just you and the diarrhea or the problem you have.
Diarrhea of the video game.
Yeah.
So, you know, like when you have a sore throat and you're looking at people and you're like,
these people have no idea that I have a sore throat.
Whatever.
Same thing.
But on a much bigger scale.
Every time I would lay down in bed, there'd be like a percentage bar of the amount of
diarrhea I've gotten rid of that would like, I'm not even kidding, would be projected into
my brain.
God.
And it wouldn't project until I had my battle on the toilet.
So I'd be on the toilet and it was a fucking battle because I was trying to push through
the constipation.
So I was like, not screaming, screeching.
It was really bad.
It's like DMT.
And then I would be done.
It was like DMT.
And I would lie back down and I'd see the bar and it'd be like 7%.
6%.
And Jay, I mean, I could describe this forever.
You got to call Rockstar Games.
It was crazy.
I don't get, I told you I could have brought you to the hospital and you were like, nah,
just get me some Air One vitamin C.
I have a doctor that is on call and this doctor, my leg could be chopped off and he'd be like,
sleep it off.
And I called him and.
What did he say?
Well, I'm not in the, I was not in the condition to go to a hospital.
Yeah.
You were that sick.
Like I was like, I'm not.
Did you wake John up in the middle?
Scan, our filmer.
Yeah.
He's got the same thing.
We don't know what happened.
Was it the Jersey Mike's or was it the.
So yeah.
So it's either malaria.
Yeah.
Which I don't think it is anymore because I feel like I would have to get a shot for
it.
So it's either E. coli from when we landed in Jersey, we got Jersey Mike's and me and
Scan got it.
Natalie got it also.
Natalie didn't get it.
But Scan, Scan got the exact same thing as me.
Like is in his, like, I can't believe I sound this good right now, but Scan right now is
like doing horrible.
Oh, really?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's like on his deathbed.
Same shit as me.
So that's not Jersey Mike's.
Yeah, I think Jersey Mike's was too soon, too.
I think it was something we ate in Africa.
But it's crazy because in Africa, in Botswana, South Africa, all I ate was toast and butter.
And I know what it was, I think.
What?
I think it was the last night we were at the campsite.
I was like drinking their water.
Yeah.
That wasn't their water, but it was their purified water.
Yeah.
But if it's not bottled, I probably shouldn't be doing it.
But yeah, Jay, it was like-
Did Scan have the water?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's probably what it was.
But it was horrible.
I watched all of the four.
I watched four Men in Black movies yesterday back to back.
Well, something good came out of it.
Yeah, really sick.
I mean, you sound a lot better today.
No, it's like night and day.
I wish you guys could see what was going on.
So that was Friday, and then all Friday you were sick?
You know, I prayed to God.
And I was like, no.
No, I said this.
I was like, I'll do anything.
I'll give up my Avengers tickets on December 14th.
So please just make it go away.
No, not at all.
Not at all.
Because I told, like I was praying to God before, and I was like, please, I want to
be healthy for the South Africa trip.
Yes.
And I was.
And then when I came back, I was like, I was praying every night, and I was like, as long
as you need me to stay sick, I'll stay sick.
This was our deal.
And like, go ahead and punish me, because like, if we can continuously make these deals
in the future, where I can buy myself some time of health, and then you just stack it
on me when I come back, I'd love to do that.
But like, just let me get my work done, and then punish, like, yeah.
God's upstairs, like, showing you to all his friends.
He's like smoking a joint.
He's like, look at this motherfucker.
He's fucking nuts.
Look at this motherfucker.
I'm not going to stay sick.
What do I need you to be sick for?
I don't give a fuck.
This guy's crazy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So yeah, no, it was, and I was also, I was also like, if you need to take my life, like,
right now, Jay, it was, it was really bad.
If you need to take my life, what?
I was like, just do it.
Yeah.
Really?
I was just, take it right now.
Damn.
Take it right now.
Because I was on the toilet, and I was thinking about Elvis, because Elvis died on the shitter,
apparently.
Yeah.
Because he was so backed up.
And I was like, oh, this is totally a way.
To die.
To die.
Wow.
And also, there's like a peak level of pain that a person experiences, I feel like, right?
Like, you get shot.
Yeah.
It can only hurt that much with like adrenaline.
Yeah.
Or everything.
Sure.
having diarrhea with no adrenaline
running through your body
is equivalent of getting shot
with adrenaline. No way you're making this comparison
right now. That's insane.
You're actually insane.
If I got shot out on the street
in the leg,
and I was like, oh my god,
and I was shocked,
in that moment,
it would not hurt.
I would be able to call you.
I'd be able to call you and be like, John, I just got shot.
Bring the camera and take me
to the hospital.
When I'm on the toilet,
the wrong decibel will piss me off.
It is like,
my shirt's coming off, I'm taking my socks
off. I got undressed
six or seven different times
in the toilet.
Diarrhea six, seven.
Sorry, guys.
Yeah, it was a lot.
And then how did you feel on Saturday? Just better?
I didn't feel better till
last night.
And then tonight, I walked,
today I walked downstairs for the first time.
Wow. I didn't think you were going to step downstairs, honestly.
I was like, I don't think he's going to be.
I'm shocked. I did. What did you do, John? Did you peek your head in
and see if you needed anything? Yeah, I checked out on
Friday, and then Saturday I got him
stuff. And then you left.
Yeah, we've had this video.
I was trying to be funny, too. I was just like,
I wore socks on my hands,
and I had this beeping sound
from the hospital.
He was just not having it.
He had like a mask on,
and he was shirtless.
And he came in
like a sexy
giant nurse. I couldn't find a white robe, so I just took
my shirt off.
But like,
my mom's here.
And she would come into the room, and she'd start
doing my mom things,
like stressing me out.
What? That would make me feel so good.
No, no, no, no, no. When she was helping me, it was great.
But then she'd start
talking about other shit.
And then the second
there was any kind of communication that was a little bit
stressful. Diarrhea.
I've never had a battle like that
in my life.
So I'm really, really
grateful to be on the other side.
Unfortunately, who's our friend
in Kenya?
Paul? I forget his name, but
we have a friend in Kenya. We owe you
a
computer.
I don't think I'll be going
to Africa anytime soon.
It was. It may have. I put the nail in the coffin for the
content, just for a little bit.
And I know there's a lot of countries,
and I get it.
I can't.
I can't. You're done.
Yeah, I'm done. But I had
the. I'm telling you, one of the best trips.
Yeah. One of the best trips.
It was worth it.
I wouldn't say that. I think it was
actually, honestly, perfectly even.
Perfectly even. Right down the middle.
Even the film we were scanning, he was like,
dude, 10 out of 10. I was like, what?
Yeah, yeah.
I said that on the last podcast. I was like, so surprised.
Skin never fucking talks or gets excited about anything.
And this was like, this was the trip.
Would you ever
pass the YouTube gauntlet down to Toby?
Like the channel?
Not the channel, but, you know, teach him
your ways. Bring him into your. Well, I had him edit my video.
Which one? What? He edited
Croatia. I sent him
all the files, or like half of them,
right? No, all of them.
And Esther and Sarah, too.
And Esther and Sarah. Oh, you edit, Toby?
I tried. I didn't really
do too good. It opened
like, really bad.
Yeah, because I couldn't find that one clip
that you guys used. I don't know how you guys found that.
Oh, okay. So he didn't get the intro. So it opened
like, really bad. But then,
it got really good. Yeah? Yeah.
Wow. And I'm saying for like,
for a first edit, it was a 10 out
of 10. Wow. But even from like, me
looking at it as someone who's edited many of these,
I was like, this is not bad at all.
Yeah. And actually, like, part of his edit
put in something
that we didn't know. Oh, nice.
That was in the vlog.
Well, he watches your videos, right? So you kind of know.
Yeah, so we stole something from his
edit. Yeah. And it's funny,
Zane called me about that moment. So
remember you put in the part where Zane was drunk
in the movie room? Yeah, and he was. And he was like, trying to fuck John? Yeah.
Zane called me about that the next day. He's like, dude,
I wish you fucking showed me that part.
I didn't want that in.
And I was like, damn,
that's so funny.
I usually have a pretty good
radar of what Zane wants in or not.
Yeah, I don't think it was bad. Yeah, I think he missed
the spot on that one. Really? I didn't think
it was that bad at all. No, I didn't think so either.
No, I thought it was really, really funny.
But, yeah.
I don't think Zane likes when he doesn't
remember how drunk he was.
Sometimes he's drunk, and he knows
what he's doing, and it looks
the same to us, but I think his
perception of the night is different, I guess.
Like, depending on how drunk he gets.
Right, right.
Yeah, Tobes, if you ever want to take over the channel,
or even David Dobrik 2, that'd be perfect,
because it'd be Toby.
Wow, Toby, and then he just gets, like, that little
ending scene, and it's just edited by
David. Like, Toby Dobrik.
And I don't even really use the second channel, so you could just kind of
start posting on there. No, I'm good.
Make, like,
work on one video for the whole year.
Like, senior year. Dude.
Oh, that's good.
Dude, you're about to start senior year.
Too shy to have a camera and flash in everyone's face.
Bring your phone.
No, no, you don't bring a camera. You're going to look like a nerd.
Do it on your phone.
What about audio?
Oh, dude, Toby, this would be so
cool. Audio, who cares?
I think it'll look cooler
in a couple years than if it was shot on
an iPhone. Hey, Toby, would your friends
be weird if you started filming stuff?
No, I remember I filmed
with them once, like, in 7th
or 8th grade, and it was just kind of
it was boring,
but, like, they were really chill about it.
They were bringing the energy.
They had vibe. Damn, okay, so maybe
you gotta, or maybe you could rekindle with your
old girlfriend. That'll be, like, the first video.
You going to propose to her.
Move with me to Croatia.
Give me one word to describe David.
Shoot, that's
a good question. Probably
family-oriented.
I'm sorry, that's two. I guess you can't
use that one. We can take that.
Supportive.
Can he do three?
No, no, probably, um. I mean, if he could do three, do best big brother,
but I guess he can't do three.
That's two words, but. Brother?
Yeah, I guess that's one of the three.
Better than best and big. Related?
Do you guys, like, hug each other
and stuff? No, we don't do that stuff.
Yeah, we hug. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Why you gotta be fucking weird about it?
When do you guys hug?
We. Like, when he leaves and when he comes, we kiss each other.
You give him a hug? Well, I kiss him on the lips.
Damn.
Tom Brady?
Tom Brady?
No, Tom's a little soft. We, like, fully lip-lock.
I kiss him like he's, like,
I'll never see him again.
Okay.
I didn't need to know that, but okay.
Damn. Who do you like better, your mom or dad?
Um. Can I say both?
No, you gotta pick one, dude.
You're playing shit safe.
David asks me all the time, which kid do you like better?
Come on.
They're both fun. I don't know.
Yeah.
All right, who would you rather be picked up from,
like, if you're really drunk and you can't drive?
Who do you call?
Like, out of the parents?
I don't know.
I guess you could just call your siblings.
Yeah. No, they don't live there.
Oh, they're here, right.
Probably just walk.
They're probably sleeping or something.
Probably my dad, because he's probably awake.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Dude, that's what I'm most excited about having kids.
What?
Is, like, giving them that talk about alcohol.
Be like, if you get plastered, I'm gonna get ya.
I'm, like, so excited for that.
Yeah.
Because I think that's, like, the stupidest rookie mistake ever parents make
is, like, making their kids scared that they can't drink underage.
Like, they shouldn't, but, like, if you do, I know what happens.
That's how you gotta say it.
I know what happens.
I was a kid once, too, you know?
Yeah.
Don't be afraid to call me.
I'd rather pick you up than you get into some accident.
Yeah.
And it ruins the rest of your life.
Seriously, I'm gonna get you, okay?
I don't care what time it is.
I don't care it's 4 a.m.
I will not get mad.
I promise, dud-ass, I will not get mad at you, okay?
Yeah.
I can't wait to see that in my kids.
You should see some of these California parents, David.
Really?
They're like, if you want us to bring you tequila and some weed,
any time, when the party's dying, we'll bring you blow.
Yes!
You should see some of them.
Don't let the party end before 2 a.m.
Don't want to be a nerd.
You'll look like a pussy.
And we are the Travolta family.
The last thing we want is to look like losers.
You just go like, you have my credit card.
Open up the Uber app.
Don't wake me up.
I guess, right, I guess there is Uber now.
I'd still rather have my kids.
I want to pick my kids up drunk.
I feel like that's kind of funny.
So, I don't know.
How are you gonna be with your kids drinking, Toby?
Because I feel like you're like, you're really anti-alcohol.
I think I'll be chill.
I want to be that chill dad.
I want like, I want to be the good cop.
Really?
Yeah.
What's our biggest similarity, you think?
Ooh.
And what's our biggest differentiation?
I feel like similarity is,
I don't know, because when I'm talking to our parents,
they're always like, oh, you sound like David.
That's probably when you piss them off.
Yeah, when I'm being really sassy.
nice job
way to go
that's my
guy just like me chip off the old block you give them hell tope carry on the tradition
difference i mean there's a bunch of like little differences but i don't know

like i'm not doing the whole project by myself or like whatever i mean i probably will because
i'm like really like no no no that's not even what i'm referring to i don't know someone's
sitting next to you you see that they're peeking over
you helping them out or you fucking moving your piece of paper over a little to the left
toby depends who it is toby if it's a friend who is always asking i'm i'm not showing him

yes it is no yes it is no yes it is i don't believe in cheating at all i fucking took my lumps i didn't
have your cheating skills so i got bad grades it doesn't matter how you get through school as long
as you get through school whether you're a cheater or not you're gonna figure it out in life okay

gonna hire you okay so one day i might have a huge youtube channel it's just like i don't want
to get caught by the teachers a hundred percent but you're the victim in that you play victim the

different yeah
david thank you so much for meeting with us

junior year of high school and i didn't know i needed glasses like right
because everyone didn't wear glasses around me so i thought we all saw the same thing
