Matthew Berry! Matthew Berry! Matthew Berry! | Hour 2

The transcript blends entertainment, sports commentary, and consumer promotions. It begins with the premiere of *Mob Land* Season 2 on Paramount Plus, a crime drama centered on betrayal and high-risk gambling. A central controversy arises over Raiders coach Clint Kubiak allegedly lying about player Brock Bowers’ injury, raising concerns about transparency, sports betting, and integrity in football. The discussion transitions to the emotional dynamics of game days, where pre-game confidence contrasts sharply with the unpredictability of actual outcomes. Miller Lite is heavily promoted as a cultural staple of football game days. The show also celebrates standout athletes like Ellie De La Cruz, with fans highlighting his performance and unique style. A lively fan debate follows on football aesthetics, player likenesses, and memorable figures. Additionally, a pointed critique emerges of a 9/11 remembrance segment, accused of exploiting memory misrepresentation and emotional manipulation. The final section delivers fantasy football advice, analyzing player health, matchups, and injury risks—particularly for key players like Drake May and Brock Bowers—while promoting consumer products like blinds and grooming tools. The overall tone blends entertainment, analysis, and advocacy across sports, personal memory, and consumer choices.

cruz lately i know you're not you should be i'm an ellie guy because this guy yeah i know you are you're an ellie guy i know you're an ellie guy you're an ellie de la cruz guy and yeah o'neal cruz ellie de la cruz but ellie de la cruz look he's playing in meaningless games at this point for the reds but in those games he's been playing against the brewers and the dodgers so two teams that could win the national league over the last five games he has nine hits in his 19 at bats he scored five times he's got two doubles five homers five straight games with a homer he hit one 460 feet off terry scoobel and in that same inning teoscar hernandez was going for an inside the park home run and ellie de la cruz got the cutoff from like mid-center field and threw it home got him by six feet why because he threw it 105 miles an hour on a cutoff and it was a great throw it was a perfect throw one hop to the catcher put it in a perfect spot he is one of the most electric players in all of sports he's been doing it against some of the best teams ellie de la cruz salute to you sir you are worth a toast and worth a toast is presented to you by ellie de la cruz presented by cuervo keep it fun keep it cuervo keep watching ellie de la cruz if we're talking about cruises and i think of o'neill cruz i love cruises i know you do going on another one i'm going on another one in a couple months i like that um does o'neill cruz look like the best baseball player ever made sure we got a balcony you know i'm talking it's o'neill cruz or ellie de la cruz these two guys in a uniform you know i'm talking about you put those two guys in a in a in a uniform if you line up o'neill cruz against any player in baseball i said that's the best well i know you saw sandy alcantara in a uniform as a pitcher and he is a beast as well like if i say that's the best pitcher because that guy can throw 100 miles an hour he's he's one of the guys built that way because he's like somehow built but also lanky and the way you need to be as a pitcher o'neill cruz is an absolute monster monster if you look at him i was on the uh i was in the infield kind of on the side by the dugouts when he came out for the dominican baseball warm-ups in practice and i was like who who's is that a tight end where'd that guy come from when they both had their dreads hanging out of the back ellie de la and o'neill were doppelgangers through and through i mean they look the exact same standing on the left side of the batter's box they play very similarly two stars let's go bucks is the point i didn't hear no bell yet the bucks are still chasing that wild card no you're right you're right they're still right there it's gonna take a lot it'll take uh less of a miracle than it would take for the marlins at this point thanks jeremy and jeremy who looks most like a football player to you like you don't know anything about them but you just like remove the deeds that you're aware of and just kind of in your brain like active guy looks the most anybody you want like jerome bettis jack lambert i think people jerome bettis yeah he doesn't look like a football player to you no it's a fat guy he looks like a d lineman yeah no but like when he was when he was in his prime with the rams and then the beginning of the steelers wasn't fat i'll play your game luke keekly gilbert brown no who'd you go right over brown since he's saying jerome brown i'm going gilbert brown david and joku yeah david and joku looks like a football player yeah i would like if i didn't know who david and joker was and i saw him walking i'd be like that guy plays football yeah joe alt i look at joe alt and i'm like that i don't know what he plays on the offensive line that guy plays football i somehow this is this tells me a lot about your worldview it's sort of like the ginger mary ann thing in a weird way um to me it's uh i'm gonna go with andre tippett olb hall of famer for the new england patriots when they still wore the good uh the good uniforms the the pat patriot uniforms look him up that's like yeah you got to tape up your wrists you got to take i think you got to run the tape from your wrist almost uh up to the elbow you know how say you drip driller mike ryan i like taping it up to the elbow uh how about you know who else looked good you know who had the ultimate football aesthetic maybe yeah jeremy shock he's good hanford dixon no jeremy shocky and i also don't know who hanford dixon is hanford dixon with the cleveland browns with frank minifield man oh frank minifield i don't know who either of those people are that was at the height of the bernie cosard cleveland browns hanford dixon number 29 had that bad a long towel hanging down almost to his ankles literally look him up it's a crazy thing yeah the long towel guy i don't i don't know who these people are sorry i know bernie but i don't remember really watching bernie when he was good look at that helmet there i feel like if if you take that that helmet looks like if you take it off it has no padding on the inside right you know it's a different time that's why everyone freaks out about the guardian caps like the football aesthetics change the pads were huge now the pads are small like we're gonna get used to this guardian look have you seen the guardian helmets this year a year over year improvement uh buddy last night for the rams one of the offensive linemen was where i'm like i look sure it's looking better wait till 4.0 comes out we're all gonna be used to this and guys will end up looking cool in them tony you had a big problem with uh vegas raiders coach clint kubiak a couple of days ago who i very much like by the way but the issue is he's a liar yeah what happened here so to everybody's complete shock uh adam schefter came out with a tweet a couple of days ago where it's like hey brock bowers knee scope meniscus he'll be out a couple games everybody's like right what like he was just practicing and clint kubiak had the unmitigated goal to come out the temerity and then they're and by the way you know from a local perspective you got the uh the raiders they are they are playing the dolphins this weekend so we are especially interested in that yep and brock bowers is what the best titan in football we can all agree bowers and trey mcbride but okay i feel like it's pretty close i'd probably get really good the edge to bowers but when you look at him he's been practicing there's been really no issues and it's like all right raiders are ready to go and he's been practicing and he's been practicing and he's been practicing dolphins are ready to go and clint kubiak gets on the microphone 90 minutes maybe a little bit more a little bit less of the adam schefter tweet coming out that brock bowers is going to miss maybe multiple games with a knee scope this is what he had to say when asked about his players you got a couple of players max crosby and rock bowers that were dealing with injuries last year coming off injuries we didn't see max during preseason just a little bit of uh rock bowers are both of those guys cleared to play and are they ready to go on sunday yeah we're expecting to have all our guys ready to go on sunday yeah we're expecting to have all our guys ready to go for sunday 90 minutes after yeah he's scheduled for knee scope on tuesday with a doctor in dallas excuse me did i miss something is he just flat out lying to everybody yes when he says yeah everybody's going to be ready to play knowing they're already scheduling his caveat was we're expecting we're expecting everyone to be ready to play which it's a lie though like yes it's a lie it's a lie like you as as a coach with all the things on the line you cannot be well what's a liar or is it that the nfl is in bed with you know gambling and the coach is lying to you about an important player is that the part that's it's huge there's millions billions of dollars on the line between sports betting between fantasy between all these different aspects of the trickle-down economics of football and we're looking at somebody and we're looking at somebody who is a pivotal point of a lot of those things uh overs on yards on catches like there was people prognosticating that brock bowers could break the target uh record and as a receiver right you'd have 200 targets they really have nobody else to throw to he's always hurt he is but the pcl and the knee takes a couple years to kind of like figure out he felt healthy and then all of a sudden now the meniscus scope but like how did we not know about this two weeks ago when he was kind of limping and now there's video of oh yeah look at him doing the drill he's kind of limping here the fact that it was two hours after hey no we expect all of our guys to play that you have a knee scope like somebody's got to look into that so you're using economics and prognosticator in the same sentence like you're trying to sound like a smart guy just talking like a normal guy words were said bookish yeah that's what that's what we're doing there i guess uh do you agree with me or what because because what they what they do there like you have to be out front being like yeah look we're looking at brock he's got a you know i think it's dicey obviously from the gambling perspective that you shouldn't be lied to about specific especially key players but at the same time this isn't anything new like coaches lie about player status all the time gambling has been around for a thousand years and you know it's wednesday when he said it yeah i think it was wednesday it was wednesday when he said it the game is on sunday you don't need a place a bet five days four days before the game yeah i hear you but also like if you know that he's gonna have a knee scope and a meniscus trim quote unquote like that's not scheduled well how else could he have said that two minutes before how else could he have said that hey you know what uh brock's going through something we may need to to take a look at his availability okay like that's all you have to say not he's gonna get his knee scope he's actually got a a surgery scheduled in dallas he may miss a couple games and now the chef to tweet came out saying well his camp brock bowers's camp said that he may miss a couple games but that may not be the reality of what his knee surgery is the raiders might hold him out longer so now we're looking at this being a four to six week injury out of this sunday my favorite part of the football season is the confidence everybody has before kickoff zazlo already knows how the game is going to end tony has studied every possible matchup and chris cody is convinced his fantasy team is unbeatable then the game starts everything immediately goes off the rails and suddenly nobody remembers making any of those predictions that's why a legendary game day starts with an ice cold miller light whether i'm at a tailgate up what i'm laying down this is the dan lebitar show jeremy hang tight we're gonna get to your question here but first let's bring aboard matthew barry hit it roy barry will agree with me matthew barry yeah matthew thank you right into it matthew this is a lame move by clint kubiak he's lying to us he's absolutely lying or evading the truth it's it's outrageous i heard i heard some of it the fact is is that candidly most sharp bettors will bet as soon as they win the game and they're going to win the game and they're going to win the game as soon as the line comes out before it starts moving so you do absolutely bet as soon as the line comes out often but regardless like in a world where there's so much um scrutiny on integrity like just to flat out lie with something that comes out two hours later like oh this is a surgery that happened the week before this is i mean it happened that according to the chapter tweet right this is something that happened the week before and clint kubiak was actor uh was asked directly about brock bowers and he said he evaded the question he did sort of like the the aaron rogers um you know uh a vaccine question right he just said i expect to have everyone available he did he didn't answer yes i expect bowers to be there but he just said i expect to have everyone available so but he he he played word games there yeah i mean and it's it's you know it's extremely sketchy and didn't they didn't they bang the uh didn't didn't the nfl uh punish the ravens for doing something very similar like that yeah i mean it's it's it's extremely sketchy and didn't they didn't last year i feel like hmm yeah maybe i think that sounds right yeah you you can't uh play at that murky but matthew berry is there a running back because we're talking dolphins raiders like every football fan is right now sure of course is ashton genti is there any running back that you would rather have in fantasy this weekend than genti yeah i mean sure like i'd rather have jameer gibbs i'd rather have bijan robinson but i think i think well would you though sincerely like i know you're going to start bijan robinson but against the steelers defense in that spot with cooper rush being the one presumably handing the ball off it feels like genti is in the sweetest spot of all right i think i think he's gonna be the one dumping the ball off uh to bijan robinson not necessarily handing it off um and and jameer gibbs like that game against the saints that's that should be a track meet that's one of the highest over-unders on the slate i think gibbs has a monster game against new orleans so but yes i think ashton genti i think both the raiders and dolphins uh offenses this year will struggle and so i do think that if ever there was a time it should be this week when they get to play each other so i think this is probably the best spot for devon achan this season and it's likely the best spot for uh ashton genti this weekend all right well no no for the for the year no need to wait matthew's got all the fantasy tips for us matthew let's get right into it founder of fantasylife.com host of fantasy football hour with matthew berry make us smarter this weekend matthew what do you got here are some of the facts you need to know before week number one last year justin herbert's fantasy points per pass attempt 52 percent higher when joe alt was on the field joe alt's gonna be healthy on sunday meanwhile last year the cardinals 27th in pressure rate their secondary uh going into this season were ranked 26 by pff their defensive line ranked 31st joe alt healthy ready to go uh justin herbert's gonna have a monster game on sunday since the start of 2022 when playing at home jared goff averages 20.6 fantasy points per game he's averaging almost 280 passing yards a game over two touchdown passes and again in week number one lions playing the saints at home as i mentioned to dave they have the second highest implied team total this week as well speaking of it other side of the ball in that particular game tyler shuck last year scored at least 17 fantasy points in seven of his nine starts once he took over as a starter tyler shuck was a top 12 fantasy quarterback on points per game on the week one slate again saints lions second highest over under chuck by the way still available in the waiver wire and over the top 12 fantasy quarterback on points per game on the week over 50 of pretty much anywhere you might play fantasy football more saints in games that chris olave played with tyler shuck last year he averaged a 29 target share scored almost 15 fantasy points per game in 75 of those games lines two starting safeties are out on ir to start the season last year in games in which parker washington ran at least 70 of the rounds he averaged a 24 target share for his career when he sees a target share of at least 15 he's averaging over 16 fantasy points per game jaguars play the browns and rogers play the browns and rogers play the browns and rogers play the browns and rogers play the browns and rogers play the browns and rogers play the browns week one and uh my expectation here is that denzel ward cleveland's top corner will be primarily matched up against brian thomas jr last year in the nine games marvin harrison jr played at least 50 of the snaps michael wilson averaged just 5.5 fantasy points per game when harrison was on the field michael wilson had just a 13 target share harrison expected to play on sunday uh since joining the eagles saquon barkley has played four different games against my beloved washington commanders including the playoffs in those games over 130 seconds he's averaged just 5.5 fantasy rushing yards a game six yards per carry he scored at least 21 fantasy points in all four four of those games. My expectation is the Commanders defensive front seven still is going to be a below average unit. Last one for you. Over the past three seasons, Isaiah Likely ranks fourth among qualified Titans in fantasy points per target. In fact, in eight of the nine career games that Isaiah Likely has played where he's gotten at least six targets, he's scored at least 12 and a half fantasy points per game. Malik Nabors, not 100%. The number two wide receiver is either going to be a rookie in Malachi Fields or Darnell Mooney. Give me all the Isaiah Likely this week. Great job, Matthew. Who should fantasy owners be worried about more after the last couple of nights, Matthew Stafford or Drake May? Oh, that's a great question. I'm going to say Drake May. I'm nervous about Drake May. Obviously, we have a much for two reasons, right? Number one is, you know, this A.J. Brown injury is significant. So he's just lost his best weapon. The offensive line did not look great last week. I mean, again, it's on the road at Seattle, but still the offensive line, the issues that were there last year, it's going to be a much tougher schedule for the Patriots. The other reason why I think you should worry more about Drake May than Matthew Stafford is you spent a lot more to acquire Drake May this year. Drake May was drafted as basically a top three or top four quarterback in pretty much every single league. Matthew Stafford went well outside the top 10. So in a world where you had to replace Matthew Stafford this year on your fantasy team, the replacement cost isn't nearly as much as it would be for Drake May because you used a much earlier pick on him than you did with Stafford. Matthew, are we worried about Drake London because you take him in the one-two turn of your drafts? You got Tua, you got Cooper Rush, you got hopefully Michael Penix coming back, you got Jack Strand somewhere in the fourth QB role there. Are we worried about Drake London? A little bit, a little bit. If you look traditionally, his numbers with Michael Penix last year are significantly better than with anyone else than with Kirk Cousins. You know, pick your Falcon starting quarterback. But Drake London's best numbers throughout his career have always been with Michael Penix under center. And so, yeah, for those of us, and I'm one of them that have Drake London on your team, we want Michael Penix back under center as soon as possible. So, yeah, especially you give a tough matchup against Damoshek Steelers. Yeah, a little bit nervous. I think if you have Drake London, you still have to start him. But should you be concerned, should be a little bit worried? Yeah, I think so. Michael Mayer or the field? If you've lost Brock Bowers? Depends on who's available in the field. I mean, like, Jawan Johnson's out there in a lot of leagues. I prefer him. I like Dalton Schultz, who's going to be like the number two pass catcher. You know, so I prefer those two guys. So there are guys that I prefer more than Michael Mayer. But I do think that if you're sort of stuck, he's somebody that's interesting, like that you can sort of, like he's been productive when Bowers has been out. And I do think that offense will be more competent this year under Cousins or Mendoza. Whenever he gets the start and just, you know, better offensive line. Kubiak's a real coach, despite him lying to us. You know, he's a good offensive mind. I think the Raiders offense will be a lot more competent this year than it was last. He's the founder of FantasyLife.com, host of Fantasy Football. Happy hour with Matthew Barry. Great job, Matthew. Enjoy the weekend. Thanks, guys. Good luck. We'll see you next week. Matthew Barry. Matthew Barry. Matthew Barry. Matthew Barry! So, Dave, we have not gotten your opinion yet this week on, because we've not spoken to you this week, on what took place with Michigan and Western Michigan. Western Michigan. See, that was a good game. Right? Yeah. Nothing controversial. That was, I guess, semi-compelling, right? It wasn't a good game. It was a crazy finish. It was a terrible game. I mean, the score was 12-7 with a second remaining in the game. Dave, you have a radical thought here. In regards to the fallout from the game at the Big House, right? I mean, I don't understand. We all saw the commercial with the high school kid playing basketball, and he goes to the coach. He's like, coach, I touched it. And then all his teammates are like, what are you doing, man? And he's like, hey, good call. Why doesn't Kyle Winningham demonstrate that same sort of class and dignity and go to the microphone? And it seems like I'm kidding around or like. Well, obviously, that would never happen. I'm talking in real terms. If you're Kyle Winningham, I think the best move you could make is to go up there and say, we're not waiting for the NCAA or Big Ten or anyone else. We all saw the same thing. We didn't win that game. We are going to void the win. Thank you, Big Ten, for trying to give it to us. We're going to stiff-arm that. We're going to move forward at 0-1 and get better in time for Week 2. Now, as it stands, and, you know, the Jim Harbaugh era, I know it includes the National League. I know it includes the National League. I know it includes the National Championship. But I think in total, if you are not an Ann Arbor faithful, you're kind of like, that was a crappy thing. Jim Harbaugh in college did some weird stuff. And then how last season ended. And it all adds up to now, Michigan, which was a powerhouse always, but I don't think they were villainous on the level of USC or Alabama or some other teams. Now, they are the nation's villain. Everybody is rooting for Oklahoma to hammer Michigan. Is that what you want to be? Winning him. Take the stink off yourself before anybody, before people can keep throwing it on you. Just void the win. I know Western Michigan is calling, Western Michigan and the MAAC are calling for the voters, the committee, to acknowledge that it was a win, even if they don't get credit for it. But I don't hear other people, like Dave is saying, that Michigan should come out and give up the game in the way. Yeah, that if you remember, well, it was like a dozen years ago, 15 years ago, when you had the Miami victory at Duke with the kickoff at the very end of the game. Yes. Jemele Hill. Jemele Hill was one of the national voices that said we should forfeit the victory. There were many voices. Mike Greenberg? Oh my God. They were so, they were so mad. They were adamant. They were so mad. Adamant that the Hurricanes. Were a meaningless game. That they should come. Come out and forfeit the game. I haven't heard anyone say that about Michigan. Why not? We all saw. We all know what happened. And now by not doing it legitimately, I think you make yourself, you put yourself in the crosshairs. The committee, it's worse than a regular loss by a ton, and not just because it was to Western Michigan, because of the way it happened now. I feel like the human factor. There are going to be voters, not just fans watching on TV, who are going to hold it against Michigan to a, to a radical degree when it comes time to, I don't think Michigan is going to ultimately be in a position to make the playoff even with that win, but they're definitely not going to make it now because people are going to prejudice, prejudice everything against them for that result, right? People wanted the Hurricanes legitimately wanted the Hurricanes to forfeit. It's earned persecution complex, forfeit the game. Now, Dave, I don't know if you've ever heard, but if you don't remember the, the miracle kickoff for the Hurricanes against Duke here, it was 27, 24 squib kick, just fall down on it or whatever. No, they're going to try the lateral, pass it to the other side of the field. This never works. Caught by Cornelder pitches it back to Jaquan Johnson at the Miami 30 delaying the inevitable looking for a block pitches it backwards as many laterals. Now it's BS passing. Interference penalties on that last drive Walton now pitches it back to Johnson. Guess we're going to keep going with this. Toss it back. Here comes another pitch. Cornelder has it. There was a back to the plumbers. Nine one, one goal line. Dallas Crawford looking for a block gets one. Definitely not a block in the back. He throws it across to the 30 to Cornelder. Big legal block. He's got it to the 40 Cornelder crossing El Palacio Delos, who goes midfield Cornelder speeding now to the 40 speeding ticket. Thank Howard.com. I don't know dashing down the dandy bear sideline. So what your kid has ringworm dandy bear elder inside the Gus Machado red zone. Cornelder. He's at the time. He's at the five. Lindy. Eric. Scotty. Mike. Miami. Sequoia. There are presently no flags on the field, and certainly no one will have a problem with how this game ended. For. We don't speak English. Oh, everyone hates us. For days. Legit people went on television and wanted the Hurricanes to forfeit the game. But that way, am I wrong? Of all the games, Texas and Ohio State is great. And Bill's Texans is great. And obviously you're excited about whatever your favorite pro football team is. But the game I definitely want to see objectively is Michigan, Oklahoma, because I want to see Michigan lose. That's not who you want to be, Michigan. That's not who you are, Kyle Whittingham, or so I thought. Don't you have the dignity to understand that in our shared reality, we all saw you lose that game? Acknowledge it. So this is the tipping point for you to root against Michigan? I know they've had a banner a couple of years here, but like this is the one that you're like, I don't think. I cannot support this program. Now they should lose. That's it. Tony, you know that moment at a party or a tailgate where everything just sort of clicks? I know it well. It's usually when I show up, everybody goes crazy. Yeah. you usually take all the credit for it, but it's because Tony usually walks in with Cuervo. I'm walking like this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cuervo is a thing that turns hanging out into this is the night. It has that effect on people. It does. You usually take the credit for it. But again, it's the Cuervo effect. It's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up, hooting and hollering. Keep it Cuervo. Keep it Cuervo, baby. Ah, folks, listen up. You wouldn't want an offensive lineman to play wide receiver, would you? No, you wouldn't. You need the right person. You need the right equipment for the job. That applies to football and it definitely applies below the waist. That's where the lawnmower lineup from Manscaped comes in. Trusted by over 14 million men worldwide, the Lawnmower Go is slim, sporty and straightforward. Why wait? We. Go. V. Dan Levitar. I don't like the word blue, but I do have at least one pal that I can think of who has, actually, he says he fell asleep in coitus. Dave Demachek. You may look at me and be surprised to hear this. I happen to be a vigorous lovemaker, so that would never happen to me. This is the Dan Levitar Show. If we may, I would like to remember our 9-11 remembrance segment. Yeah, we did a good job. Of all the 9-11 tribute segments done, this was certainly one of them. Oof. And so I was recounting them and if I seem distracted today, it's because I have not been able to shake how the show started. I just haven't. So it starts with Zazz going, I think the gambit was looking into the custodian container and he's like, nobody, everybody there is too young to remember. And he goes, well, Roy remembers and Chris remembers and Mike remembers. So like already just nuking what he said at the beginning. Most people actually do remember. Yeah, and then. Well, don't forget that was after he said the thing he remembers is Jay Fiedler. Yeah, and we'll get to you in a second. Okay, that's fine. We'll get to you in a second. Hang tight, stay ready. So he highlights, okay, maybe they, you know, there are three dads there. They remember. But instead of starting with them, he goes, Tony and Jeremy, you're too young to remember. What are your memories? Let's go to the long-winded guy. I don't remember that I said it like that. I don't think so. To which Jeremy's like, Tony, do you want to go or do I? Yeah, I don't think so. And then Jeremy starts with, I don't really remember it. Could have ended there. Doesn't. My mom panicked. Goes for four minutes. So Jeremy, added more words than needed. They've been giving me such a hard time that I went back and took the time of it. It was 43 seconds, which is too much for something I don't remember, but not so long that it should be made fun of this much. And then Tony says, God knows what. He didn't say anything. He said, gobbledygook. And then, I believe at one point he threw in there, why are they panicking? And then, Zaz turns to Dave Damoshek and goes, you remember? You remember? I think that was the low point. Yeah, Dave, you remember? All right, there's no way that I said, Jeremy and Tony, you guys are too young to remember. What do you remember? There's no way. That is exactly how it went. We started our 9-11 remembrance with Jeremy, who said he didn't remember. I'm not going to let you do this to me two days in a row. There's three people that I remember, two people that don't. Let's start with the people that don't. You know what? You're banned from 9-11 memorial shows. That's fine. You're banned. That's fine, because I already did a nice job at the start of this show, so I don't have anything else to add to that. At the very least, a year-long embargo. You're not entitled to do it. You can revisit Michael Jordan on retiring. That's what you can do on September 11th, henceforth. That's fine. There's no way I said you guys don't remember. There's no way. Yes! Yes! Yes! That's exactly how it happened. It's such a stupid thing to say. There's no way. That's exactly how it. You looked into a room, said nobody remembered because they were too young, highlighted the three guys that could remember because they were old-aged, and then you start with Jeremy, who goes, Tony, do you want to go? Do you want to. Hey, do you want to share your memories of not. Yeah, because he talked for four and a half minutes and he went second. Three seconds. And then, Zaz goes, Dave Damoshek, you remember 9-11? Okay, that is not at all the way it went down. That is exactly how it happened. It was bad. Just trying to do a little tribute, that's all. At least you tried. Just trying to handle things the right way. Fiedler came up. There you go. Fiedler. Yeah, that's right. Every couple years, I think about Jay, you know. Yeah. Yeah, I only have so much 9-11 bandwidth. And every few years. I think about how he made me feel good. I'm glad that we landed on one of the years where you think about it. Well, guess what? Next year is not one of those years. Embargoed. Damoshek, say something funny. Chris Cody. Wait, hold on. Tony told a story of carrying books to a Spanish class. I forgot about that part. I'm just scrolling through right now. That's when I saw it on the TV and it was still short. I told two stories that were shorter than your one story. Nobody asked for a story from the two guys who don't remember. You literally asked me. I don't like you. You were the one. No, you guys don't remember, do you? Hand up. That's it. Ball off me. I think we're going to have that's what I want from you. I will say this. I will say this. Mike Ryan has put himself in quite the seat here up on Mount Pius, raiding everybody else's remembrance. No kidding. If I remember correctly, he's sort of like the guy watching Jeopardy from home weighing in on what everybody else. You didn't say a GD word. Yeah, yeah. You know why? I didn't want to have anything to do with that segment. I was embarrassed. Because you're emotionally repressed and you don't want to talk about the way you felt. I'm emotionally repressed. I don't want to. I don't need to. People don't need to hear my thoughts on where I was. How old were you? I was in high school. They don't need to hear that story. You probably don't even remember. I was very far away from where it happened and I watched on TV and I was scared like everybody else was. Is that what you want from me? I was scared. I don't remember. If Zaz gives after he gives his poignant recall on Jay Fiedler scoring a touchdown. Great moment. I don't remember. I'll tell you what I wouldn't say in recapping my feelings. I would not say Jay Fiedler. My feelings are my feelings whenever I want to have my feelings. They're mine. We've come up with a new suey category for that. It's called Woof. Yes. Congratulations on your Woof nomination. You're on the bullshit putting words in my mouth not only with asking Jeremy and Tony to remember something I know they don't remember but then you're making me say I like cocks and everybody knows. Everybody knows. I just sent Roy exactly exactly how you led into asking me and Tony. You guys aren't old enough to remember where you were and what like Mike you'll certainly remember Chris you'll remember Roy you'll remember like Tony and Jeremy you guys are probably not old enough to have a great memory of that day right? Exactly the way that I thought you don't have a memory of it right? Let me lob it to you to talk about it. And then Jeremy's like well this is my time to talk for six minutes. You're right. No what happened? Jeremy that's right. I'm confirming that you don't remember anything and then Jeremy decided let me tell you an entire story. Oh you're not gonna blame this on me man. Roy you also have the question that he asked to Dave. The way that the way that he spoke and then he so eloquently tossed it over to Dave. I gave that to you as well here. Let's see if we got it. Hold on one second Roy. Roy I just wanna while you look at that Roy I'm gonna thank you real quick. I'm gonna thank you real quick for for for playing the sound that exonerates me. Thank you Roy. You think you're exonerated? Oh yeah. You're too young to remember right? Right here. Dave you remember? No edits. I remember Jay Fiedler laying in the end zone and raising a hand. Okay. And I knew then America was gonna be okay. Jeremy Jeremy let me explain something to you. You don't get to take two words out of entire thought and then say no edits. Dave you remember? That was your whole question. When I talk about something and lots of words come out of my mouth and then you take and play two words you remember Dave you remember? You don't then get to say okay three words. Three words. Dave you remember? You don't then get to say no edits. You told your story. You told your story of being at UCF and everything and watching it and then you ended it and then you went Dave you remember? That's right. When I tell an entire story like you just confirmed and then you take three words you don't then get to follow up those three words with no edits. Dave you remember? You said Dave you remember. The topic was 9-11. Maybe he doesn't remember. That's why we do hashtag never forget. Dave you remember? He's right about that. Dave you remember? Dave you remember? Dave you remember? You remember? - Well, I think we fixed it. - Dave, you remember? I really do have to say that Mike Ryan stinks in a perverse way here. Oh, you stop. Everybody else. You stop. Everybody else. I'm upset at you. I'm upset at you for, like, running with the you remember and not calling it out. How do we remember 25 years ago? Okay. Don't give us a shit about it. Jez talked about Jay Fiedler. It's a sports show, so be it. Mike Ryan said nothing. He said nothing about it, except what he did was put down judgments. I don't even remember your thoughts. When Jez asked you, Dave, do you remember, I know you talked for, like, seven minutes, and it ended with Cajun food. Jez, do you remember? That's all I know. Bottom line is Mike's emotionally repressed. You might need to see someone, Mike. I'm not emotionally repressed. I think I'm reading the audience. They don't care about us and how we viewed that. They don't. Dave, you remember? Somebody get Jay Fiedler on the line. Guys, I do have his number. Guys, you know what time it is. Tell you a year from now. Put it in the calendar. We'll have Jay Fiedler on. Okay. You got it. We'll be that. No, I'm adding it right now. I'm looking forward to talking to him. September 2nd? That's what he remembers. Just a little lead time. Remember raising that fist? You guys know what time it is. He healed America that day. What time is it, Dave? Do you remember? Oh, we're back. It's Friday. We had an action-packed weekend. Is it a big game? Or is it not a big game? Howdy, folks. Welcome to Big Game. Or not a big game. With Jonathan Zaslow. Oh, yes. Chris, you're up first. What do you got? You know where I'm starting. Biggest game of the weekend. Dolphins at Raiders. 425. The whole momentum of the Dolphins season rides with this game. Who you got? Some people have said the outcome of this game for the Dolphins is the difference between winning five games and winning one game. If you want to hear a full breakdown of this, this game on the call on NFL on Fox. Mark Schlereth was on Zaslow Show 2.0 yesterday. Go check that out everywhere you get your podcasts. Dolphins. Kyler Murray's first game in purple and gold against the division rival Packers. Minnesota at home hosting the Packers. Big game. Not a big game. Vikings. Packers. NFC North. Kyler Murray. Jordan Love. Oh. Not a big game. It's the first week of the season. It's not a big game. Dave what do you got for us? Well one of the successors to Kyler is John Mateer. Let's say Mateer and company are up 14 maybe through 14 but maybe they go up three touchdowns. What's that environment going to be like for Michigan. I cannot wait to watch. It is the game objectively to watch this week. Oklahoma. Michigan. Can Michigan get a legit win against a ranked Oklahoma team. Has a team's fans ever stormed the field after a win and then the result after that was you're unranked now. That was hilarious. That's what happened to Michigan. Oklahoma. Michigan. That's a big game. That's right. Jeremy hang tight. I'm a let you finish your question. All right. Stay ready over there. Every game day you show up for your game. Now it's your time.
