Match Simulations AFL Fantasy Wrap

The AFL Fantasy podcast, hosted by The Traders, reviews recent preseason games, noting that elite players typically don't play at full intensity, which complicates fantasy evaluations. Key takeaways include Connor McDonald's impressive midfield performance for Hawthorn, suggesting a prominent role, and Sam Walsh's return to form for Carlton, indicating strong fantasy value. Isaac Heeney's high-scoring display for Sydney is also highlighted. Discussions cover positional changes, such as Zach Williams moving to half-back, and rookie prospects like Colby McKercher and Ryley Sanders, who showed potential. The hosts humorously explain "pecking order" using chicken behavior, emphasizing team hierarchies. Overall, the episode expresses enthusiasm for football's return, offering insights for fantasy team adjustments while cautioning against overreacting to preseason results.

[Cheering] Welcome to the official AFL Fantasy podcast with The Traders. G'day with The Traders, I'm Roy, I coached destroyer, I'm here with warnings. Coach of the Wondon! And. -Gathered. -Coach of. -Calvinator! -Boy! -We hit another milestone. -What? -What? -We finished. We finished the first little glimpse at what we'd like to call almost proper games. -Almost proper games? -Well, we've had some fun at games. -Someone. It wasn't dancing with your sister and intro. -Mob game, it was always something to do. -It was close to. -It was close to. -For some, I guess. For some. Now, just a word of warning. -So, just in case you had never heard this before. But good players. -Yes. If they do play in this, they definitely do not try it. They don't try it. -The really good ones won't even try it next week. -The worse, the really good ones that did well, though. -And the feelings they still didn't try it. -They did a massive effort. -They did a huge effort. -Yeah. I guess this is what it was all about. I don't think you're changing too much from your team in the players that you're already pretty comfortable and confident at all. But it's all about probably seeing a bit of pecking order I reckon this weekend. There might be those rookies that will go, "I know, yep, think they're going to play." If they didn't play until that second half, then maybe that's not necessarily them going to be. -Certainly unwarrant. Something extra for us to think about, isn't it? You got a factor in players that. -Planes of me and the world. Because we're coming off Origins, so there's a lot of Origin guys that didn't play, but then. -Someone indeed. -I know, right. -And they really surprised me. -They played a lot of Tom and Greg on the stage. -They did. -No, it was incredible. I know you'd be up to date with this sort of thing, but the term pecking order. Where does that come from? The origin of the pecking order. -The words pecking order. -It's like. -It's just doing chucks out the back. -How bad can it be? -Yeah, because I'll make gets in there first. -Yep. -I'm the first. Chook on at the top of the pecking order. -That's exactly what it's going to do with chickens, isn't it? -Yeah, 100%. -Yeah. -So we talk bananas. -Yeah. We should be referring to him as chickens. He's the number one chicken. It's allowed to go and get that ball first. -Because he's at the top of the pecking order. -We've got cows, pigs. We've got a whole farm with chickens. -Now they're having fun. -We've had our eyes across all of these games, and it's been. well, it's been nice to have footy back. You sort of realise how much you do love football, I reckon, when you watch these games. We love football. It is my favourite sport. Boy, far. And plenty of other people have been watching. And some have gone to the next level. -Oh, yeah. -It's shout out to Hef. -Yes. -For example, who has been collecting fancy points. He's doing what champion data couldn't this way. Now, last thing, this takes me back. I've got a flashback. Right, what's that? Hef? I appreciate this. -Yep. -And I think your accuracy has been second to none. Oh, because last year you called him out. This is terrible. You're calling him into the interview. He said it wasn't at Hef, but just clarifying. -Okay. -Outstanding everyone who's done it. Much appreciate it. So what percentage are they rolling at, Roy, as far as accuracy goes? 98.3. And last year, what were they? 95.2. Okay, so they stepped it up in a half. They've done a very good job. So well done, people taking notes as well. Observations have been great to read through as well, to see if they confirm what you were thinking some went against how I saw it. Oh, well, they're wrong. Well, they're wrong. That's right. From going hang on. Well, they'll learn the hard way. They'll learn the hard way. It was a long day at work and that's game late. And there was a lot of grainy vision and a few wobbly camera angles. And sometimes I think some of the commentators checked out at times. Yeah. We're doing that. -And some of the charm of it. -It does. It does. That's one of these. That is good. But anyway, it's a match-seam review time. Let's go all the way back to Monday and get cracking. Donal now in number nine. Starts that left. Squeezes it through. Hawthorne and Jolong is where we start on Monday afternoon. Who were watching it? It was Connor McDonald. Well, he was the number one man we were going to watch. He was a midfielder. So he's a prime example of someone that was really relevant to be honest. We've been looking at him because obviously Hawks are down on midfielders. Who was going to step up? He has been the one that we've all assumed is stepping into that role. He got plenty of CBAs, but more importantly, he actually did something with him. Well, he did. So he had the most kicks out of the team. Yeah. The most marks out of the team. Andy kicked one goal too. I put it in his 90% accuracy. Well, that's it. All right, and I'm willing just to say every time with 100% confidence, whatever score we see, that we'll do. That is what we're rolling. Yes. He has scores. He can mark. That is one thing I like. Yeah, that game he scored really well at the end of last year. He bracked up sort of in that vicinity. That many possessions and those sort of eight mark areas. He was impressive. Yeah. Kick the snake. Yeah. Everything about it. I think that was the eye test tick there. It was. As you sort of saw through that. Ward was probably the main man. He was kind of like that. I think that's going to be a significant role there between him and you. Yeah. Like it's going to be a mix. McDonald may not even start there. No. He's probably the first one in. You would think so. He's the fourth chicken. Yes. I like that. I think so. Yeah. That's probably the thing for those guys. I reckon we'll see a little bit more when they play the next game. Obviously both of these sides. Hawthorne and Jolong do have an opening round game. So we'll be able to see what happens there. The cats take away their sand conning. He was there. Ruck. So they shall go back to this. We're going to see. We're going to see. We're going to see. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think that's going to be an option for us. I don't think we're going to go there and do that. And obviously. But Oli Dempsey. He was like a center bounce boy or center ball up. Sorry. Yeah. He was in the center ball. I mean, enough. Yeah. Smith wasn't there. Holmesy there. Danger. Not the danger really. No. There has been talk. Dempsey's going to be in there a little bit more. A little bit more. Yeah. I think he's a good one for your draft. I think so. He's got mid status. Probably stops him from getting forward status if that's going to be part of what he's. Yeah. He's well. He's kind of much. I guess Rookie's Lennox Hoffman. Don't I? And we saw what's his name. The is it Mitch? What's his name? Who? Never. Never. Mitch Edwards. He spent a bit of time in the Rucks. So, maybe he's nice and cheap. That's there. But I don't know. Probably not a massive amount that we really stickly got out of this game. I did love the fact that Jalong swang a late change though. Oh, they did. They did. And they started very well. The cats in this game too. And then Hawke's got on top. That change was actually the most relevant cat. Well, we didn't want to see a cat of ruin. No, exactly. The illness. So, not a massive issue for not playing. But it would have been good to have seen in there. Because he should be on our rate hours at mid price. Now, without being Roy, actually, here, Roy. And I know this is your kind of hitting zone. Yeah. Did you make any changes based on this game? I played it very cool. Did you really? Until the next day. And then, I think, Connor McDonald came in. He's just for a look. I wanted to have a look at my forward line without a Rookie. OK. And he was the plug that made that happen. I don't know if I had a look at it. I've had a look. It's Jagger Smith. Well, he ever pinged for the goals. It is open. And he nails it. You didn't have Jagger Smithy. 40, do you know what I'm saying? 40, do you put him in? Well, this was a Colton beating Brisbane. A rotten sign. Roy? Flaggers. What did you get? Did you get him? Tell me how excited you got about this. Well, no. I kept a lid on it. But we do at work. I've got a lion supporter. He has his most head wobble. And he's very sensitive. And I knew even though it was a nothing game, I could get a bite. Yeah, good. So I was up and about for a minute, but no, dog, I'm realistic. So Jagger, he had managed minutes throughout the game. So as to be expected, but looked really good. He didn't even like it. He's really good. That goal that he kicked that we heard that highlight from was nice. Just everything about him. Yeah. Just means he's going to be fine. Yeah. So he's the second most owned player in the game at the moment, right? He will overtake. He has to overtake. He will overtake. He has to overtake. Has some stuff this week, or reckon? Has to happen. He'll get it done with things. Sam Walsh Roy in the middle. You would have been pretty stoked just that he looked good and got through. Oh, well, I had to say it was a headband. Yes. Yeah. Just looked good. He looked good. Loaded. So you could look at his score of 38 and go, oh, Walsh, give that a miss. Yep. No. That ain't it. He looks really fit moving well. Walsh, he huge tick. Oh, yeah. He played through the guts. We saw-- Yeah, I think we saw enough of that from him. And he's set about 41% according to Pete. I feel right in there saying that. But you saw all of that from the start as well. Look, his numbers were there, kind of from the beginning. Like his first half is where he basically played. Plied a little bit of the third. But that's where that all came from. And he should be in there, shouldn't he? So that one means he's pretty far. Yeah. But Cher is straight out of there. Yeah, so that was a big bit of news, I guess. Up to eight weeks ahead. So he's missing through the start of the season. Yeah, so I don't like honestly seeing his low CBA count. Because they can do silly things with him sometimes. They can. Out on wings and off, you know, flanks and stuff like that. I want to see his CBA count through the roof next week. Like I'm confident with it. But I would like to see him up there as the big dog midfielders get. And pit net was the number one rock, right? With, yeah, so reading. Reading was a little pinch hip, which is probably what they're going to do. Yeah, don't know. I don't know. Yeah, they can't play too. I don't think they can be played. I don't think reading was awesome. And I don't think reading is going to, if that's the case, if they did play too, he's not going to score enough to. No, I don't think he's worth it. Viable as that. No. Another one for the Blues Roy, we confirmed that Zach Williams has gone half. Yes. My eyes did light up, I must admit, but I have to behave myself with that. Maybe bumping up your draft order a little bit. Maybe. Kitty Coleman. This was a watch for. This is huge watch. So we were looking at him because we did hear in that intra club game that he basically played half forward and guess what? That's what he did in that game. It was pretty much lead now for a water time. It was. He started in the square a couple of times. I tell you what though. Like eye test looked lame. Okay. Moving well. He had great hands. Took a lot of marks actually. He got eight for his 13 touches. Yeah. So scored a 70 which would be enough. That's enough. That's okay. For his 50 odd. You know what? That is probably spot on the enough number. It is. For him. But the role was a no. The role is a no. A couple of them scored all right in that role last year. Okay. Others didn't. Like a Zach Barley went at 84. Yeah. Say he can score in the role. He does it. Yeah. Now the one we need another look at it. What about the top score? I know. And we always go. He does. The only turns up when it matters. And this just shows that Matt Simmatters. It matters Roy. It shows that he is a freak of nature. Nine marks. 26 touches. Like he's amazing. Incredible. And he like I said the other day. Like he rides shotgun out of all those guys back there. Like it's his. Now we didn't mention this off the top. So it could have been a little talking point in there about the match. That I think some clubs they'll be working out over this week. And then the next week coming for the Amy games where their minutes are going to be in some players, especially the opening round teams. So are they lighter on next week in the Aby when we're calling that more the real thing? Yeah. Like does it does a Zorco play less time next next week? Potentially just likes playing. I think it does. And I was football. The only other player. The other player that mentioned was Nick Newman who didn't play but he did play in the VFL. Positive reports out of that. OK. He's going to tear that to shreds. Well of course he will. You would, Roy. I guess we should see him in Amy this week then. I believe so. And then it's all tracking way thicker than I thought it was. He could put it to bed in the Amy forest. He could. Yeah, he really could. Anyway. He's Gordon on the run the way he likes it. You know what? I'm going to say this. What? Right. I am a good and lover. Yes. I love Gordon. This fast pace game suits him more than anyone else in the entire list. The fact that it's a fast pace but also for him he's just going to be in the field. Like he's actually an inside midfielder that has his outside run. He's just the prototype. He goes where they want this 17 kilometres in a game. He suits him perfectly and if you do not start with Gordon in your team you're playing the game wrong. Oh yeah, you have to be working out when and how. Yes. So he and that with some 27% CBAs through that. So that was pretty much what he looked like across the game and basically played out the game as well which was a part of it. Kick the couple of snags in what would have been 111 according to heff rounded off 98% probably down to 109. Right. That's great. So if you have him in your team like I did, I looked at that and went, oh God, now everyone's going to get him right, you know, like you do. Who's my boy Roy? Look, I haven't reacted to it. I have you. But I feel a little sick. You can't have him. You can't have him. He's going to go bananas this year as well your boy Roy with four goals. Charlie Kerno. Because he's getting it on a silver platter from the likes of Gordon. 93, priced at I think 66 from memory, meat. They don't just fire it in his general direction. It's fired at his chest. He's never paying. He was very, he was awesome. He was great. He was so good. Everything about him looked absolutely brilliant and he racked up 131. This is a hand back. He's well. I was like, I was there that really helped seven tackles. He did absolutely everything. That was the thing about him and just the eye test on that. I don't think he's ever failed an eye test. No, no, no, he hasn't. It's a good point, Roy. What about also for the swans and Riley Bice? The Bice? The Bice. He's a bit of a talk out of a lot of people watching that one. What are you reckon? Well, it was kick-ins, wasn't it? He was getting a bit of it back there. Yeah. The Bice is right again, Roy. So it's going to be interesting to see where he sits. It sounds like well, he might be above Roberts, for example. He could be where that is. So Bicey there under 600K, you can be getting that. So priced at 57. Yeah. There's 20 plus points there. Yeah, well, as long as he's playing. Well, that's doing that. And we saw that last year. Last year, he got a bit of a free, you know, the licence back there. Top score of 125 last year. And then it all started. It's just like taking away. Yeah. No, interesting to see where he sits in there. Keep it on it. That's it. Keep it on, Roy. Now, I don't know. What about the Bulldogs? We saw-- so we were missing a few there. Yes. Bond, obviously. I mean, they had-- do they have the most players in origin? I reckon they do. They seem to have a few out there. They have half a dozen or so. But Royley got plenty of midfield time. He was actually the highest midfield one. CBA guy with Frazier. But I think Frazier's probably the more real guy. All that talk has been added. It's been a bit about it. That's all that sort of stuff. Certainly. Like mini-bond stuff. Yeah. And well, both of them got forward status. But Frazier there priced at 71. Flying a midfield role in the Bulldogs scene that can score. Can score, right? And we know he can score as well. Yeah. So, the thing with him, goodness me, is one that I'm certainly-- I haven't even invited him to training. Yeah, fair. But he could turn my head in opening round. Oh, easy. He could have a one week training session. So his score was a 58. Royley had a 94. Pretty good. But this is the game where these guys-- They're all a turn up. They need to turn up here. We saw a couple of things out of this too. Sort of the defenders as such and how that worked. Dale. Bit of a knee. Yeah. Don't know how serious or anything that is or what that's going to be. But that changed how things scored. Like we saw Boudrewick have a pretty decent game there. OK. He racked up 22 touches. Eight marks. Let's talk about old Boudre's here for a second. He's an option. This is a forward status. He could be-- was that last year? Last year. All the year before when we went with-- I'll make the St. Kielder guy bonner. Oh, yeah. Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've got a feeling right. This is a bonner pick. Well, it's even better because it's got the forwards. Forward stats. 500 K. Price at an average of 48. Now, if the role is there, these guys chip it around under the roof of Marvel like Craig. He will be fine if the role is there. Now, Jaxi-- Yeah. He's probably the one because he was there to start with. Yes. Maybe a little bit questionable on some disposal and stuff like that. He was there. He was not that nice one, so. Yeah, exactly. So I think he's there. Had a little birdie tell me like a month ago that he's there and it'll be in. So I think-- So I'm just-- I think we're picking him. Yeah. Obviously, basement price there, Defender. Bench one, but could potentially score because he showed that. So we ended up with a solid enough score. Exactly. You are talking about-- What are you two? Yep. Woo! 17 K. 17 K. The thing is, like, those marks were there in that game. Yes, of course. Yeah, like a little bit in that. But yeah, he would be one to watch from that. But Bulldogs a bit depleted because of-- Tough to see that again. And, well, again, both of these sides. He-- dogs and swans are opening round teams, so. Yeah. Well, he's chucked his hat in the ring, yeah. His hat is definitely in the ring. That couldn't have gone to a required distance. He gets the all-one through there from Winthegre. Maybe he did that on purpose. Their plan is to get extra touch. [LAUGHTER] That was good. Did you see it? This game was amazing. Yeah. Flanches everywhere. And he played it right out to the end just quietly as well. But-- Because he knows. That little bit of play. I loved it the commentator said that, too. Yeah. The fact that he knows. He knows what he's doing. He kicked it about eight meters. And got it back. It was only a week or so ago. Someone questioned the old revenge game. He had that-- No, my question was interesting. What about that? Well, he said 31 touches, eight marks, and 129 points. So, he had a lot of rules. He had a lot of rules. 129 for him. Yep. He was fantastic. Everything about it was really nice. You don't mind. If you don't mind, that's impressive. So he ended up-- Yeah, plenty of midfield time. But what I liked about it-- and this is the ITES stuff as well-- he was behind the ball. Well, he's everywhere. But behind the ball and getting-- Like all those nice little marks. And just getting the ball. That's where he became the man he is today. Yes, behind the ball stuff and then into the middle. Oh, it looks good. I might have to rethink a bit of row on the 22 with him. Ooh! Well, yeah. OK, let's just go. The guy that's next to him is this. And that's Petraca. He was excellent. He passed the ITES. He was definitely an ITES. So I guess that's the bit of news throughout this week as well with Matt Rao. He's going to miss a bit of time at the start of the season. Yes. That just puts him as the second banana. It does. Second what, sorry to? I'm like, "Alvin, you're not letting this one." This is sticking on to-- That's not-- So yeah, he's going to be-- like I thought he was always going to be good. He was always going to be in my team. And now it's-- well, I'm truly-- Oh, now everyone's going to get him wrong. Locton, they'll be silly not to. Well, so obviously, Anderson, he didn't play. Yeah. Because he was an origin guy. But yeah, everything about it. He looked good. They were using him a lot. He was just patrall him in. And look big and strong. I think that's the other thing about him. He just actually-- Yeah, looked excellent and now little rookie there in the Fordon Leo Leonardo Martin, he was great. Yeah, yeah, so he's enough to he's sitting in my team. Oh, he has to be yeah They keep using the terms though like you know, he's down enough. He's doing enough to put his hand up for round one I think he's there. I think he's there. Next week will be the big the big seller. So they were down a few. Yeah, obviously But yeah, I think we saw enough from the suns in that I guess the St. Coolder side There were a lot of players were looking at Nassaya, okay He's got him care Well, if I had him, I don't think I wasn't convinced Do you think he tried in this? He did think about what don't you just say dog? I don't want to quote it again Do you honestly think Nassaya tried in this match? No, Roy come on. You know, I know he didn't dog Yeah, the most TV is don't mean anything. He's not trying what worried you about it though because you know he's I just think He's gonna cops some attention and did he cop it in this game? No, right, but I don't know you were a worry what Yeah, yeah, you're spending a lot of money for him care. What about you can do it? What did their racks look like dog? So the racks were looking at TVK was obviously the the starting rack and I think we've sort of read that fairly Well with how that'll work yeah marshal Well, marshal played forward. I think we're gonna see that a bit But he was still he's still rocked. Yeah, so he ended up with 13 hitouts. Yeah 61 TDK He had eight hitouts probably a bit disappointing really 49 So we're a 30-bit dog. I know you've got the numbers in front of you there But banana wise for St. Kilda How did that look because Mattias Phillipo? Well, the poo was excellent. So he was he passed the I test for me just as a midfielder Yes, and then sort of backed it up when we looked at Pete's CBA numbers there he ended up with basically 58% Yeah, which is enough. Yeah, definitely enough 27 of what planned as was to yeah, so yeah, they're not playing they had a lot of guys run through there So yeah, no, well, that's that's an easy pick at the mind. Well, it is yeah, but yeah, go back to that rock though to conning 63 Marshall 37 So just a no goes. That's just how it's gonna look isn't it sort of that well the 60 40 essentially isn't it Which probably thought a bit and in draft they're just sliders I know we need to keep an eye on here over the next couple of weeks is Jack Carroll. Oh, yeah, so he did play off halfback. He did It's good to 78 so at that price in the in the rookie price 11 marks Yeah, so the marks is something out of this game. You were a lot. Yeah Like you could see across the board. They did try to control that affair bit. Yep. Yeah, that probably goes against what we keep hearing about This year and how it's gonna work to do that. Yeah, and the thing is you think about Ross Lion He's been told to quick and up and speed the game What's the first thing he will find a way to do? He's doing the opposite slow it down exactly So he'd be all over that so Jack Carroll he will pop into contention at some point. Yep The simple thing out of that though Flanders. Oh, yeah, oh absolute lock Darcy Parrish has kicked a second goal Calvary not you haven't you haven't been a Fan you better have him if you don't have parish you are not playing this game properly And I can understand why people have got issues and girls in his body if you watch that there is nothing wrong with his body Oh, he was outstanding as soon as they've seen him for like five years. They record okay Absolutely outstanding he's been in my team since day dot right right and I know he has Have I been pretty cool you try to challenge him? Yes, I do you need to do this dog to keep him on there do you get the best out of it? That's the moment because he looked amazing. You're welcome everybody. I don't care Listen to you anyway, so he was good Yeah, well, I'd already done the paperwork to get him officially off the never again list that I had him firmly placed on but this did nothing but Yeah, make my Just signing worthwhile. So a couple of girls. Yeah, it's just very good in the banana Makeup. Yep. Yep. Just where it is him. Just back to all the main guys in there. We had no Zach Merritt in this game, but um, yeah, so called well still pretty popular What can you tell me about called well? He was good luck. He was just fine. So good fine He's still a premium price. Yeah, is it did he do enough to justify people leaving him there at the moment that already have him? Yeah, because again, you've probably not taken heaps out of these stores. We don't know time on ground All of that sort of stuff, but you only had three tackles for a guy like him That's a eight to nine again if you were looking at for the role where the role is what you want him to be doing Yeah, that's you speaking of role actually robots. So he's in the draft. Yeah, what 100% as that defender like I don't think he's value as such for the Lycicas who are looking but um He's just good. It's gonna be used there. Yeah, it's just probably one of the more skillful bombers now just quietly This first quarter here we go. It was a trotious. No, well, after the first quarter What they won by 50 odd. Yeah, bombers are good. So actually I have been bigger on him this preseason I think there might be a tiniest bit of meat on the bone now I'm not saying to go there, but I actually think he's taking his game to the next level this year He scored 96 and according to hefe gave away five free kicks. That's super impressive. He's very hard on free kicks Watch the umpago Yeah, you imagine cow taking said oh, I wasn't a free kick Paying that yeah, so I guess to take away from the big dogs there parish and his price at 72 We just you just have to do it. Yeah, if you were thinking twice about it. Don't He's right. Uh also in the bombers midfield. Yeah, that's the big man and that is black. Oh, that's what I'm gonna be honest He's a lock as well. He's a really 100% a lock. Well, even the um who's a damn it first and he was on there talking about that He's got his he's in front um it'd be nice to know a little bit more about when when his Brian is back, but He's the number one ruck. He leaps. He got the better of nanking the ruck as well. Yeah, can't didn't play a full game sort of thing But oh, there's not a lot of hitouts by the tigers. No, they have a 21 or something all up Big black. He had 20 because he did share it with Vego. Yeah But he's just ahead of him. Vego's not playing. No in the uh when it comes to real do one. So yeah, I think that was a massive um It's just a lock like you just put it there. It's gonna come down to where you have him Yeah, like whether it is a d4 even d5 because who else could we have let's switch over to the tig's oh yes, so real Just excellent. Yeah, wasn't he great. He was fantastic So everything we've heard yeah about comes as Yeah, advertise advertise isn't it? Yeah, at the moment we've got Ulanders out d6. We've won rookie in the backline. Is there an argument where we can have two? Oh, yeah Well, there is now and we didn't mention Uland there either Um in that other game he was solid. Yeah, I'd have grill on him ahead of you. He was on a weird. Yeah, he was on a wing Yeah, yeah, didn't start there. I think you start on the point but yeah So grew the man. Yeah, exactly Just looked really good the other one too he's farrow. He was excellent Yeah, he was um he was talked up a fair bit um by everyone. I saw commentating. Oh, we look commenting on it across socials um But as a bomber supporter like it just was nice seeing that yeah the other one too. Oh con dog Who the con dog have a look at him Gives a second. Oh, you just actually search up con dog. Don't probably do it. Who knows what would come no You're worrying me that's con dog Giannis. Oh, yeah, yeah So he's a 230k defender of the game was even taken kick in just doing okay doing some stuff But he actually looked alright. I don't know whether he uh plays not straight away or anything anyway, but he might uh Have an opportunity now Over like with these tigers. Okay, there's a lot that we've Been highly interested in probably even sitting on our um it within our teams. So coming yes He looked good. He looks great. He's a excellent footballer. He is so there's no way he doesn't make that team and walk and lock himself into the team Um what about warndogs boy. Yeah, Retchgo. Is that all you're talking about? Oh, oh hot hot hot was good Um does he spend a little bit too much time forward? I'm interested in seeing what that looks like in this sort of next It's gonna be hard to say no to him though like 15 touches five marks. Yeah Like he even kicked a goal like I feel like he did enough. So him and Lawler for the game had um 20% CBAs, but they didn't play full games. Yeah, because Lawler's he's numbers look pretty average here on paper Just four touches and yes, so that's that's one way first goal Oh no did he kick I can't remember the kid to go. I know he took that mark. Yeah, it was great But like that's one that that's a guy sitting in my team agree And that's one where I look down and just go Oh, that is actually a little bit of a I don't love that um, yeah, so that's a slight worry Yeah, but obviously not much of a game. So it'd be interesting But the fact is in the middle is a massive not so much not heaps and that's not a movie So you had Ross in there and you've got Hopper and Toronto like if you are going the the tried and true guys Hmm, they're the ones aren't they? Yeah, so they're there then you actually had coming next on the list Wow um, Sansi, we're seeing Lawler. Okay, the call of was playing a wing, um, went in there. I think they're really, they have talked up a couple of weeks, the last couple of weeks that Lawler has had such a brilliant preseason that they are backing him off. Okay, so for the first quarter, this could be part of it. Lawler had 75% CBAs in the first quarter. Whoa, whoa, whoa! And then, in a quarter of the second, he had, yeah, a third of them. Okay, and then we didn't see him, which I reckon that was, I reckon he didn't play the second half, to be honest, when I was, yeah, okay. Seeing that. So you might then, Doug, Rhett, let's go, I can't even say that. Yeah, so Rhett's going to start. Rhett, so I reckon we've got it. This is one of those issues, the pecking order that you are talking about, is where he is for that side, because if you're thinking you've got a guy that hasn't debuted, hasn't played, that you would be there from the get-go. Yeah. If you're not, we do obviously have Amy, and then look, because the Richmond play the first game of the Fernesy season, they might have held him back just for the Amy. Maybe. Roy, come on, I'm looking for something here. I got nothing for you. So it's not like that it'd be having players come back from origin either. Well, that though, he might actually be all right. So, yeah, it's a concern. If you're not making the, he's all right when he was on though. So if you're going to play the second half. I don't think it's a concern. Okay. I think if they've played him a half, it's purely management. Okay. But I think he's okay. I like it. I'll give Chris, we might be looking if we need to, but he's not going to score. Do you know what I think we might not have to worry about that? No, that's yeah. Because he was always going to be there as my just slowest of slow burns. Try it. At the end, like I always do. Yeah. Pretty stupid thing to do. Real ways to. I've never learned, but I think there might be guys capable of hitting some numbers that we can have there this year. I think so. Do you want to talk more about the bombers? No. If you've got those, I'll allow you to watch that. There's no score players. This needs to be said. The bombers work. No. Their numbers are inflated. Yes. Because they played against three. Scala hardness, right? So don't look into their numbers too much. No. No. So that's all I say. All I'm saying, though. All right. You're locking in, Parish. Yes, for sure. All right. Now, Briggs finishes it off. It was methodical in the buildup. Briggs has got four. Yes, he got four. If you were to look in. If they had live stats or live scores, not the stats even, you'd become Briggsie. Yeah. Briggsie. He could have three goals in the first quarter. The issue here. I know. I can see the issue. The issue is what they went with. Ricardo. Riccardi in the rock. I know. But then in Briggsie's favor, no one else could get a hit out for him, except you. No. And he did rock a lot more after that first quarter as well. Yeah. No, he got off the ground late. The could be an injury there. I'll let the boys talk. It was. Yeah, the poisoning. It's certainly one to watch. But Briggsie, you can't deny it. No, Dassy can't deny it. He wants the top score in the game. He wants the top score. That's the thing. The dude is so cheap. Yes, he is. Like he's not going backwards. Yeah. If you want to invest in the rucksack, could go anywhere. He's so cheap, really, that he can't really get a hit. He can't go back to that. He's not getting any worse than that. Hey, is he in your tone? No. Is he in yours? Of course he is. Look at it. 98 points, brother. Oh, wow. I would be feeling uncomfortable having him in my side. I had him now. You obviously don't like winning. Based off that. No. That's a weird sentence. So based off the big fella, go on forward and kicking four goals, you've turned off. And also, the thing is not rucking dog. But Riccardi attributes wise. That's the new ruckerel. You're jumping. People have gone a bit too silly for that. And some clubs included. People have paid good money to be on the coaching staff. Yeah, I know. Lost the plot. Chavras. Has he for a Cardi party is not going to be forward? So I might madden play it a bit too. Yeah. Justin. Yes. I don't know. Hogan wasn't there. So the Ford make up was a little bit different. Right. Not going to get a game with bigger up there. No chance. We'll be something to look at. Like the midfield is for GWS. Tom Green, that happened in the last week. His knee. So that opened that up as well as. So he was out for the season. But Finn Cowahead. Yeah. We're missing for a bit possible. Yeah. No, he might still play. I don't know. I don't know. They're not going to rush him back. No, no, no. So we'll see what that looks like. But what it did look like when you want to go on throw the midfield numbers out there and just look exactly who they were. Oh, Halorin was big. Rauston was big. Yeah. So he's the man, I think. I think he had any of this. I think I've all looked good and quick. And there's a lot of stuff about him that looked really good. 544K. Price at an average of 50. And massive vest. Yeah. He did. Yeah. Ridiculous. So he had been a bit of talk about him before they all started dropping like flyers like the dude was having a good preseason. He probably liked that next one in any way. He was, wasn't he? And then they've just gone drop-drop and all of a sudden he looks to be embracing the opportunity. Uh, Clary Rack. Yeah. You're not going to, um, like he's just now the most important player for them. That's a good little trade thing that they could have done. I think he's going to convert that many possessions into better scores than that. Yeah. So he 30 touches for his 79 points. But you'll look at that there. There is no tackles. No. And four marks. I see that many possessions from Clary and I start to. Yeah. I'm going to be some of the lips a little bit. So those three. So a haller and a raston and all of the were the three big guys. What did please me though? Jack off. He was next one on the list. Oh, he was. What an outstanding. Um, but those three. And what it means for fantasy points, I don't know. Like are they going to be able to rack? But Raston's probably the value. I think he is. And like I mean, cheap, cheap code round. Yeah. Of course we have a look at it all anyway in the real deal. Uh, a couple of injuries there. I'll make Brent Daniels cow. Your mom. I'm a boy. Hammy with Angover's world. I can't round him off with a foot. We just have to look at what happens. If Briggs, that could be an issue. Which to set make Riccati Pat. No, I don't think so. I think he's brought 70. He's got the rock forward status. People who got have gone early with drafts. Brent. Yeah. Wouldn't they just be like, well, yeah, he. Heating me. Um, for the pies, Jordan DeGoi was the one that caught my most. He's in the midfield. He actually wore piggy mitchels jumper. Oh, he's got it. Oh, okay. He's in the number two. Yeah. Is he changing it? I don't think so. I think he just wore a lot of stuff. Probably goes to the little tribute to the tribute. I like it. So he was excellent. I was just impressed with how he looked in that game. Yeah. That role. How long does he last? Because that's his thing. Because, gosh, he can. It could be a 90-gine. It can. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. Great. The one that I did like. He's a rookie-priced player. 22-year-old though. Uh, Angus Anderson. Oh, yeah. Bound for glory. He caught us. He caught us. Seriously, he was excellent. So I, he tackles. Yeah. And he actually hurt Brigger. In one of them. Like he. Well, that's a good answer. Brigger there. Brigger there. In the middle of the ground. Briggs, he took a long time to get up. And started going off the ground. I think he stayed on though because he's tough. But. Sounds like him. So, yeah, what did Angus and have tackle was? He must have had a few there. Five. Yeah. That's a good effort. It's what he looks like. He might get a game at some point. Now, we've got to remember, we're out of this game. Yeah. So that's, uh, they're probably the main things to, to understand out of that as well. But Pies, it was probably a hard read on what they'll be. I think so. They got about 12 injuries at the moment. Yes, they do. And. And keep missing. Ruckwise, like, um, you had Cameron out because he played. Yeah. But steam. Steam. They need him. He's a basement prize. He is as a Ruck Ford. So. On your throw away one. If you were doing that, steamy, do you know what he's doing? Well, he's in a lot of teams at the moment. He's quite a popular pick. Hmm. But obviously he has of that prize. He did it for, um, the whole game. Like he wrapped the whole game. Yeah. And when you compare that to the other three with what they were doing, like, they full on share it. So you saw a Riccardi 43% Briggs 36% and Madden had 21%. So. So. CBAs, that is. I don't think Riccardi and his athleticism and one hit out. No, he's getting time. He's going to get the jump. I'm not going to cut it, right? I see. Oh, but he jumps so high. Yeah. Yeah, we got one hit out. Sorry, mate. Have Rucks overrated? Well, the way you're putting them all down. No, yes. Anyway, so we'll see a little bit more from these guys. Again, both of them guess what? They're playing cheat code rounds. Yep. Yep. Yeah. Right. And again, straight out the middle. He's picking again. I'm loads. Oh, yes. I'm out of this. That's not what I'm talking about. Can't him up. He kicked five. This is what he does. Because he's a machine. He is. So what was his CBAs looking like? I'm so down. Not good. No. Not good. What do you got, V8? 34%. Which was down from his 69%. That he had last year. Yeah, it's pretty interesting, isn't it? Because there's holes in their midfield. They need people in there. Yeah. Like I just assumed he'd take. Well, that's going to be a watch. That's the last. There's a meme. See what happens there then, isn't it? Like do you see that he played origin? Yeah. Do they give him a little bit of a rest? Well, you think so, actually. Of course. Yeah, it worked. But if we do look at the CBAs and get up to the top there, Jack Steal, of course, he was there. But we just say, oh, he Caleb Windsor. Yeah. He's an option. Look, he's in for me. He's intimate. to any role would do nothing to turn you off. I'll tell you what, the game plan as well. So they looked to the eye to be playing pretty fast. I don't have any statistical data to back that up. But to the eye, they look like they're playing fast, which would play into someone like his hands, I think. - You thought he was playing dodgeball when you were watching him, though? - Oh, he did, but role-tick. - Yeah, role-tick. - So someone like Windsor, who is, you know, he's a defender, he's probably basically exactly the same as Kitty Coleman. - Yeah. - The guy with right now. - And plays an extra game, and we talked about Coleman playing forward. - Exactly, and the guy gets wins the guy getting CBAs. - And the guy whose body is your injury prone. - Yeah, yeah, now he ticks more boxes. - He does. - At the moment. But that game plan, I think it's gonna leave him a bit susceptible to get flogged, but they're also gonna be able to potentially rack up some points when they are playing that quick. - So you saw Rivers get a fair bit of mid-clock as well. So he was next and likes 50% he ended up with. But if you're looking through that sort of quite first quarter, then he went in and had 57% 'cause he had a pretty busy game in there then, and then he had his bigger game with 71, bigger quarter was 71%, 44 in the last, so. He'll be in there. - Yeah. - Well, it doesn't mean that we're looking at him as an option, because I know what it really means for him, but he's gonna be a banana. - I would drive him away with a little bit of high hope. - But we always say. - We prove, but we always score as better as a back. We don't want him in the middle. - I don't know what we want within, but I'll tell you who I did like, Jack's deal. - Yeah, so they're at 72% for the game. He's just, that's his role, isn't it? - Yeah, and so it's just enough, like he's getting a free ride for me, but he's welcome to stay. - Keep riding. - Yeah, definitely, ride away. - Yeah, so Melbourne, they were without Max, so I'll Max Heath, he was the one rucking their name, he played. - Oh boy, yeah. (laughing) - He's a little edged. - That is good news to him. - But yeah, we'll see what Melbourne look like in the Amy. North Melbourne, all right. What are we gonna out of this one? Harry Sheezel. - Well, we have to talk about him. We're all paying up for him. - Well, we are. - I test. - I test. - Well, he got it. - Well, that wasn't good. - That worried me. - I didn't worry about you too. - The thing with the Sheeze, I just need to know, does he class himself as an Uber Elite player now? - He does. - I've seen video. He was just cruising. - I've seen video's of his preparation. - Yeah, that's a lead. - A lead preparation. He's pushing the elite areas of your swanies that you don't really need to turn up. - Because he wasn't. - He wasn't doing a lot of things. - What are we gonna need to see from him next week though? 'Cause I think next week's a little bit more important. - Well, it is. - The CBA wise. - A little bit of interest. - Yeah, because is 47% enough? So last year was 30. - I wanted to see more than that. - Last year was 38 and we thought he'd get a bump on that. - I thought it would be six. - So did I. I thought it'd be more than that. - Yeah. - So their bananas look like L-D-U. - Yep. - Or B-A option as well. - 81% there. Then Finno Sullivan. This is now, - Look how you were. - Look how you were. - This is what he's doing. - Well, he didn't score last year, but he has to be a player of interest if he's legit in there now. - So Defender mid, 564K. Price that around the Kitty and the Winds of Price. - Obviously got the Defender status. - They're all around that little bracket. - It's dangerous here. - How the big deal. - It's just the fact that he didn't score last year. - It was bizarre. - Hard watch. - Because he had the best rolling football half back at the kangaroo. - Yeah. - But he's actually like in the intro club game watching some of these two. Like he's actually busy. - Yeah, okay. - So. (sniffing) The safest thing to say is bump him up a couple of times. - Yeah, you do. That's the easiest thing to say. - Because he was exploiting this game. - Yeah, I know. - He can't hold him back. - So this guy is an applied origin. - Yeah. - I know, he played AlphaGaion already. - Well, that's how it works for the big rocks. - But does that not give him a little tick next to his eye? - He still just rolls out and just keeps playing. - Oh, he just wants. - I just want to play coach. - Yeah. - But you played last, I already played AlphaGaion, put me on. - Yeah, he wouldn't argue there. - I want to murder someone. - So he wouldn't sit. - Well, that's what he does. Crunch, see. But he looked fine out there. - Look at what he was doing. - And this interests me a little bit. He was still taking it out of the rock. - Was he? - And getting positioned. - So he's doing that against Heethe? - Yeah, so obviously not like the best opponent. The rocks out there aren't the best. There's a lot of weak ones rocking at the moment. - And he's got that early draw. The easy one. - He does, so he was bullying. - Like he was pushing that up. - The attack taken. - I like the intent right. - Yeah, that's how I liked word it. - Yeah, we'll call it that. - The intent. - It's a great. - So Melbourne and North Melbourne are going to be sort of relevant sides for us to say, where they end up. And I reckon we've got a bit to watch the next game to see exactly who might be knocking on the door. I'm really looking. I think the big one for me is probably Windsor. - Yeah. - But I'm looking at. - That stills a lock. - And stills a lock. - Yeah. - I don't think we saw anything that would say anything otherwise. - No, I didn't see excessive strapping. And I saw him moving pretty well to be honest. - Great. - So that's enough ticks for still. - Oh, isn't he right in the midriff? - Oh, it's had a lot to. - McAndrew rolling around on the ground. - Oh no. - Now I saw your team of ready to go. - All of us were on McAndrew because. - No. - He's a structure. - Tell him right. - Well, he's only what you've done. - Well, he's a. (laughing) - So, McAndrew, he's a story. - Like basically, go dog. Rob was named in the squad. - Yeah. - But played sand full team. - It's eight. - You bought your tongue, Mr. Roy. - There's no coming back from that. - Gone past thinking this is a rocket now. - I don't think it's a rocket. - I think this is where we're going. - When teams are thinking you need to be athletic and that in the right place. - Like he's up against it. Let's face it. I think it's happening. And I don't know how long it will work for. And it's a disaster waiting to happen. - This is a concern. - And you have to be prepared to be a week behind everyone else because when this file is after one week and big Rob comes back in, you actually have to color premium down to rookie and et cetera. - I did get a tweet from Ait Thomas said, with rounds two, three and four being best at a team. - I was thinking that he's actually a rookie. - Yes. - Maybe you could get away with it. - You're not missing anything. - Buy that round five. - Yeah. - Fixin. - Because you'll be gone by then. So I'll tell you who he's got. So in round one he'll be up against Darcy Cameron at the MCG. - He's not scoring. - But he's big, like he's two-ten. - He's gonna get a few hit out of that. - That's 55. - Right. - Then he's got Tim English. - Yeah. - Right. - Not scoring. - Well Tim probably got dropped off. - Six to two. - Gets dropped off. - And then he goes to the rookie wood. - Then he goes gelong. - Yep, should be okay. - For free. - Yeah. - Should be okay. - 63. - And then into the blues, which is you round five. - Hundred. - So you could do it. - Thank you. - You're onto something. I'm saying people do it. - I know there'd be other Cicadas doing it and looking at it because the rest of you feel delicious. - And especially in this time of the Rucks, we don't know what they're doing. - Look, on record very early, we probably started talking about this stuff six months ago. - Feel like it. - But I am hellbent on not wanting to spend invest in the Ruck when I don't 100% know what it looks like. That's just the blindest investment ever. There's question marks about it. I'll just throw all our money in there. - So it's like buying a property, Roy. - On a hill. (laughing) - We very much. - Exactly. - And it hasn't been for a while. - It's a lot of things. - Exactly right. - Yeah. - You have spot on. - It would still, you know, $6 million house. On a hill of sand, you invest into it and all of a sudden boom. It's on the ground. - Most scale of hardness on the rocks. - So what you're saying is, what you're saying is, we should be looking at combinations of brigs and again through it. - Not brigs. Why not? - The Cardi Party. Oh my god, stop it. - Look, I'm, no, no, that's taking it too far. - Okay. - However, it takes up to one part. - It takes one part of the stress out of it or like, well, no, you had another stress to it part. - He listened for one second. - I went okay. - So there is going to be L, M, eight, right? Is not going to be a walk up 60. - No. - They are going to have question marks. - Okay. - Okay. So if we just have that position, but in the rock, where he's going to, you know, shuffle along to 50 or whatever, but the midfielder we have there is going to be far more reliable than the rock we would have had for that price. - Look, I'm nodding Roy. - I'm nodding. - I hear you. - But I know we have been, we've mucked around in the rocks before us. - Yes. - Only four week process to get out of it. - And we'll muck around there again. - I just think it's more in play than you thought you walked in the door. - Yep, you're probably spot on. - I've had a lot of thought when I walked into the door. So yes, you probably, I'm not recommending it to anyone. However, - Have a look at your team if you do it. - I reckon. - It looks good. - I reckon. - What else was there from that game? - Okay, well, let's start to, well, let's keep going with the crow's that we were looking at. - Did we see enough from Rich Shelley? - He was in the guts, wouldn't he? - Yeah, a bit of time there. - So, for me, not yet. - He's someone, you'd have to see something really good next week, I think, to just launch into it. - So you're looking here man, to say, - Quarter, - Quarter break down for him. - 50%. That's enough. 80%. What? Then he ended up with 50%. And then 16. Okay. So you just sat out the last, that's fine. Thanks, Blake. It's there, like, statistically when he has a reasonable amount of CBAs, enough to call him a mid. Right. His numbers have been great. So this is rank and mist, this one didn't he? Yeah. Oh, yes he did. He did that hand. Not a little hammer, yeah. He should be back for the round two after his. You would think so. Yeah. You would think so. Look, I haven't crossed him off yet. Yeah. He's. He's ticket to get into training, he's starting to fail. Yeah. Yeah, whose name isn't sitting there in the CBAs that high? Dorsan. Jordan Dorsan. Oh, boy, you reckon that he's dog. 50. What is the. I constantly live in fear about Dorsan though. No, don't. Don't. Seriously. Oh, you sat out, obviously. Obviously. I think he's forward as well. Remember, well. He's a lazy flexibility. He's a lazy, mate. Last year, 75% CBAs. Yeah, he's a top dog of it. Dorsan's a guy that's on track for 115 and gets his flat 100s because he sits up. He is a flat 100 guy. Yep. And it's with a very late, grubby kid. He got him with something here. Of course I've got him. And he won't leave by 10. He's a walk up 110 in a game this year. Yes. So you've got Gordon and Dorsan. I've got everyone. And you've paid up in the round. And you don't have McGatter. Yeah, you won that. I once again, you've got a good team. I fell slip me a few extra thousand. Oh, that's tough. So. So he did have midfield time for Richelle in all of that now. Let's flick two. Who else have we got there? We've got. Well, poor later, they played against Bergman, midfielder. I think that's just a tick. Yeah. I reckon he's pretty solid in there too. So it's like last year when he had 50% or more CBAs, he went out one-on-three. Yeah. So it can be a ton. So when it mattered, he's there. Like that's the thing. Like he was starting there. Now they were missing. Borders. Borders. Okay. And Hornbag started in there. Hornbag went off with a bit of a foot. He looked a bit ginger, to be honest. Yeah, it's not a surprise from bag. He'll do that for a while. He's had a very limited pricey. He has. I'm surprised. He's like, my thinking on him's been a little bit like you see. He's going to be eased in, like my play. Yeah. He's been a little bit playing his more forward role. I would have loved to see Bergman just come out and go 70% CBAs. Okay. Something massive. Yeah. Didn't see that. Hmm. He's a worry-willing person. It's impressive though. He was impressive last year when he was in there and they still didn't hesitate to throw him back, but I mean, it's a different coach. Well, that's true. So that helps. Hmm. Oh, I just, I'm going to need to see it next week. It's one that worries me. Yeah. It needs to be predominantly midfield. Now, Warnigy, you need to apologize to everybody. What for? You're awesome Todd Marshall Cole. You said that. No, I repeated. Hang on. Hang on. What have you got? How did he go, dog? I don't think he played until the second half, did he? Oh! He's easing back. Could Cole dog? Yeah, no, Marshall. You're not doing that. No. We can't win. It was content. It was pre-sacr content. I'll try some for once. Have George Yada CBAs. George Yada CBAs. Yeah. I was, I think I saw it. I think he was in there. Because I'd say. He didn't even even apply, would he? That same conversation was more mid-time. Now he wouldn't even. No, that's the other one. On that, though, the rest. Oh, wow. Well, okay. Let's fire one back at you. How sweet he go. Well, how did he go? Because I'm very interested in this. He didn't. Is in what way? Play or. I don't think so. Get it touch. He'd be resting up after. He'd be resting. Origin. So if he's in Taney, he was the main rack there. So. Oh, can we just stop all these? I tell you. It's all about Australia. South Australia. What are they doing? Like, they've actually gone. Look, you think we've overreacted to the rock for all? South Australia. I've gone. Oh, actually something in the water over there. Malcolm Blight would have been on radio. I think we would have. They've listened. They've had full panic about it. Sean Greuk. Yeah, yes, yes. Yes, yes. Oh, well, Malcolm. Yeah, anyway, so there we go. I'm looking forward to that. Yeah. We saw plenty of CBAs there for Willam Drew as we do. All right. So that's his thing. I thought he was going to be more of a wing, but we'll see. Yeah, no batters. So I'm saying you want to see it. And I'll make Ollie Wines play a sad and fool. Right. So. Will Brody? Will Brody. He was in there. See, we can't cross this off yet. No, we can't. With all these guys too, they draw the ease of it. The ease of it. The fact that there's no buy. If you're taking a punt on someone, man, you can hide behind those two things. So, here. I'll write by saying that Ollie Wines is missing the first two games of the season. Yeah. So we will see Will Brody in the first couple. You would think so. Whether that's a trap or a treat, Roy. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But we'll have to wait. Yeah. So, yeah, it's an interesting one because he can score. He can. He can. Yeah, you're trying to hide some of your gun rookies for the, um, for the Crow's cow. Which one? Yeah, we've told us anything about Charlie Edwards. He's a big fan of mid 230k. Oh, Charlie Ed. Yeah, he's a late. Why would see the second banana for the Adelaide Crow's midfield? Because he's a guy we're just experimenting through. So, it went Pete Ling. Actually, not even seconded that. Equal first with Pete Ling for the game. See, that just shows you how seriously we take Matt Sims. He's pushed your endorsement. He pushed your endorsement. Yeah, he did go. That's exactly what I'm saying. The head on. Pete Ling last year was 50% CVAs. Yeah. So, he will pop his head in. I can't. What about that? That's how it goes. Charlie Foules. Exactly. It's a chatter at least. Well, defend to me. How about that? Don't just hide these plays, Cow. Well, you got to get a little secret. You kept Todd Marshall a secret. Look at that. Yeah. Anyway, we'll be watching both. Well, the Crow's and Port Adelaide, because they're not playing opening round. And we're going to have some options, especially Cow. You went through this whole bit talk about Port Adelaide without talking about. The Green Mile. Well, no Roy boarded up. I thought that was enough. Yeah, that was enough. That was enough. A coffee cleverly done with the spin open forward line. Chases on. As it rolls and on in. Can it go all the way? It rolls. It tumbles. And it clears the line from the center square if you don't mind. Put some of the coffee. Frio and West case. And the boys have just left me. They've gone. But good thing I've got someone who is there at the game. And this is Nathan Schmuck. season. It's probably been looking like a wing for him, but I know that when Andrew McWalter sold him on the move to West Coast last year, it was to be part of that inside midfield rotation, use his size, use his strengths. And yeah, once it came to playing against opposition, that's what he was doing. He was in there for plenty of centibans. I know the exact number, but yeah, he was right in there in the gut, and I thought he was really impressed. He's one of their better midfielders on the day. Definitely had plenty. Well, over the first three quarters really, that was his sort of main role, but probably from the eye as well. I was watching the midfield pretty tightly. They did have a couple of guys that stayed in there, and that was as you probably expect Harley Reed, and then all the talk this preseason McCarthy, they did throw plenty of other guys through there. Did you see the midfield mix going? Are they going to have maybe those two Reed and McCarthy as your two main bananas, and then is it going to be a few different guys that can run through? Well, as we've spoken about with Dev Roberts, and I'm expecting to be a big part of it. I was thinking how Sean Berg would be as well, but more of a forward today in this match, him and Elliott Yull as well. He rotated through there, but I'm expecting that it's going to be a lot of forward time to him. He played almost as the deepest forward at different stages, but if we're talking about number one and two, it's going to be Reed and McCarthy because the summer that McCarthy's had he been described as an athletic beast by the new high performance manager, and Andrew Recolter has been amazed as it incootes some of the stuff that he's seen from him. This preseason, just the composure with the footies, a good size, you can win it inside, but then he's just got the running power as well to get out on the outside and take those uncontested marks and link up so, yeah, I think there's a one and two combo. That's what we're looking at. It'll be, I mean, they'll be really keen as well to get Elijah Shewitt involved in the midfield as well. He's involved in the second game here with some of the, I guess, the backup players, the top-up players from the waffle clubs as well. So I expect it as he builds into his summer and into the season that he'll be involved as well. Are you all in on McCarthy because he was the top score last year with that average of 83.5? Do you reckon there's a little meat on the bone there as Kale might like to say of him increasing that with this midfield responsibility. And second year in the system considering that he only joined the club halfway through the season. It's a big risk isn't it? It's price that 876. So you're paying up almost for a guy that's played half a season and he's coming off his first preseason. So I mean, I'm all in on him being a very good player and having a very good season, but when it comes to spending your money in fantasy, I think I'll probably be steering clear of him. Just sort of fact that I'd love to see a bit more of him in the midfield to know how what type of score he's going to be. Yeah, also joining the club. Jacob Newton, do you think he might be a chance to pull on a Guernsey early on? Well, it's one of the things that I was looking out for. Who was going to take that small forward role? And now there's quite a few on the list, but no one's really been grabbing at this preseason. Jacob Newton, I think, spent the standout as someone who can do that. And yeah, I think the form that he showed today, he looked really good. He looked comfortable. He rotated a little bit through the midfield and they slipped up as forward. So yeah, I think he would be the one at the moment that they're looking at for that small four role and injury. Obviously, today's for no along as well. Looks like a less knee or less leg, something has happened there that they're going to be looking into and send him to scan. So we're probably going to be ruling him out for the start of the season in one of those small four spots. Yeah, now we probably looked at this team, these two teams and they've probably gone in relatively full strength. There's a few names missing that would likely see them around one, but that's probably been the nice thing about watching this hit out. So let's head over to Frio. That midfield, I guess my look at that was just going there. You've been on as there. It's so wrong. It's racial and Hayden Young. They're the three guys that we're going to probably see in there most of the time. And you reckon they'll have fairly tight rotations? I think it's going to be a little bit deeper this year. You bang on that that's year, year one, two and three. But the the amount that Hayden Young rotated forward today would suggest to me that that's going to be something they call on a fair bit. We know they've done that with Caleb Sarong and to a lesser extent Andrew Grascher in the past. But I know I think they've got a lot of numbers now that I want to get through there. They're mercy reads almost their best kick in the front half. So they want to get him for the kicking in for 50 and playing a little bit more in the midsuit. He's just so creative and was one of their better players. I think today against West Coast. And then the season that Neil, the preseason, sorry, that Neil Rasmus has had, he got some inside me two times as well. And I know I just reckon it's been a really strong summer for him. He's put on only going to play on a wing. But yeah, it wouldn't surprise me that they're going to sort of look to get more numbers through there and he'll be one of their guys. And it would have been nice to see if the the Luke Jackson sort of midfielder experiment was working. But he just had to rack didn't he? And he just it was him and Cox. And how do you see that going? And even where's Darcy at at the moment? We've got any intel on that? Well, I think Darcy's going to be back to their next preseason game for some minutes. But all surprises, they didn't sort of stick with that midsuit role for Jackson and play Mason Cox as the number one rock. But he was just in there. It wasn't he basically. He was just the rock whenever he was in the guts. He wasn't and he was outstanding. When we know how good a rockman he is, we know what top of score he can be when he plays as the number one rock. But yeah, today just speaking to Justin Longmuir after the game, it was a little bit more about sort of having to have him prepared to play in the rock if they need it. And yeah, if they go into the season, he's had a whole preseason in midfield. He hasn't got a lot of rock minutes. Then he's going to find himself a little bit short if they have to call on him in that role. So that was the explanation. So not putting him into the midfield role today. And we'll wait and see. We'll see how they go in the next preseason. He'd had a Sean Darcy is playing and if that runs at Luke Jackson can move into the midfield role because he looked awesome when he's playing in that role and also rotated forward. But he did well today. Took some nice marks. And yeah, I'm just excited. I don't need any secreties. My other players are on most excited to watch this season at Friant Annel. And probably the last thing on Friant there because I guess these guys are, we know what they're like there at the Friant Annel's team and all that sort of stuff. There's probably not the kids that are coming through as much as what we might have seen with the Eagles. But what does that halfback look like now? We didn't have Luke Ryan there. But with the addition of Judd McVeigh and Jordan Clark, which we know both of those guys can do their thing. Obviously Clark isn't a elite fantasy scorer. But the way McVeigh's been talking it up too. I think he wants to be that rebound and go on, racking up the peel. Yeah, well, they just ticked over today. Those two guys are I reckon the the standout at halfback was Brandon Walker. And I know he's not a big fantasy name. He's probably not someone that's going to be in all too many teams because he finds himself in those deeper roles and playing as a lockdown, small defender, but he's dashed and he's side step today was awesome or I reckon he was. Yeah, you could argue, apart from maybe the tall forwards. He was probably their best player in this match. So I think there's the strength of his preseason now. There's probably a role for him come round one. And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he's getting involved in some of that ball movement. Off halfback and he's Chapman is another one who did some nice things. He kicked it really well, used the corridor. So maybe it's not just going to be about Clark and McVeigh. Maybe there's going to be a few different guys that get involved in that. And yeah, I mean Jordan Clark, I think if anyone's looking at him as part of their team, I think he's a really safe pick coming off an all Australian season. But the key focus that Framian or has been to move it quickly and to use those runners at halfback for the handle receives. And yeah, some of the uncontested marking the sideway kicking that has seen those three-o defenders rack up big numbers. I think off the evidence of preseason training and even a bit of today, that's going to be less what they're about this year. Well, that might be a little bit of just your ranks and maybe just some expectations there as well. That would be the thing. We're a couple weeks away from it all starting. Schmucki has your fantasy team looking to have you spent some time on there. You know, I'm very like to put my fantasy things together. Warning, I wait until I see all the good coaches put theirs together and then seem like I can pick and choose from. But I mean, I'm going to look at one guy out of today. I mean, I'm big on Harley-Rate. I'm big on the season that that he's going to have in the fitness and maturity. Yeah, I'll be going to be one guy though. I'm going to put him there straight away. And he's still had his spunk there. I think he was chirping off a couple of times during the game as well. He was. It's just the Freaky. I think as soon as he stopped worrying about the umpison and where the Freaky keeps it going and just put these head down and and worries 100% about the footy. He's just going to go to another level again. Schmucki, you're a legend. Thanks mate. Roy and Cow have missed out on this. But I'll I'm sure they'll be listening back to this to get some of this Intel. Appreciate you to on. You're the captain of always known. You're the captain. Morning. Good to chat mate. Thanks mate.
