Thomas Massey has truly had enough and I am enjoying every single second of it. It seems like the Republican Party is actively trying to lose the midterms right now, shutting down the Congress, running away as intra-party fights erupt in Donald Trump throws all of them under the bus, and Thomas Massey, vindictive as he should be, is seizing on that opportunity to mock Mike Johnson, Maga Mike Johnson, and try to end not just his speakership, but his career entirely. I am love watching this play out and we just can't enjoy it alone. We also have to think about what Republicans are doing in this moment as they're so fearful of losing the midterms. That is what I want to start with before we get to Massey. What Republicans are doing right now specifically in Texas to try and prevent you from delivering a historic midterm loss to them. We got to start here before we get to Massey and so much more. So yesterday, MSNOW's polling and data gurus officially changed their rating of the Senate race in Texas from leans Republican to toss up, which is pretty significant, because it means it's a race that James Telerico can win. As they put it, all signs are pointing to a neck and neck race, and a series of recent polls show that right now, Texas voters are evenly divided between the Democratic candidate James Telerico and the Republican candidate Ken Paxson. Telerico and Paxson actually tend to be within just a few points of each other in most of the public polls. And more often than not, Telerico has a small lead. A lead so small, it is within the margin of error. So that is how close this race is looking. A race, I should note, that could decide the balance of power on the Senate and with that, the direction of the country. Point as this, every vote in Texas is really, really going to matter. And that is why it is so important to shine a spotlight on what happened in Tarant County this week. When there are public and county commissioners of Tarant County, Texas voted to get rid of 92 polling sites across the county this November. You see, for years now, Tarant County, which is home to the city of Fort Worth and has more than 1.3 million registered voters, has been moving from solidly red to leaning red to purple, if not blue. In 2016, Trump won the county by nearly nine points in 2024, Trump's lead in the county shrank to just five points. And at the beginning of this year, a Democrat flipped a Republican-held state Senate seat in the county with a lead of 14 points. And Texas Republicans have been really freaking out about Tarant County ever since. Every vote in the county could be key to Telerico winning in November and Democrats controlling the Senate. And Republicans in the state know that. So yesterday, they did what they love to do. They made it harder to vote by getting rid of 92 of the county's polling places. They claim it's about saving money. But what this actually does is make it harder for the county's residents to participate in the process. And as much as this is a story about the ongoing attacks on our democracy and it is, the story of Tarant County is also a story about the importance of resisting the anti-democratic tactics Republicans are using right now. And to show you what I mean, I just want to rewind to this time last month when the Republicans in Tarant County first tried to pull off this scheme. Last night, the Tarant County commissioners took up eliminating 140 polling places, but tabled the issue until next month after receiving pushback from opponents. The chaotic Tarant County commissioners meeting Tuesday night when commissioners were set to decide whether to eliminate 140 polling places for this November's election. One man was carried out by his arms and legs. Okay, so what you were just watching and what you were described by local news last month, dozens of people showed up to the Tarant County commissioners meeting to protest against the removal of the polling places. And the Republican commissioners had local sheriff's deputies remove all of the protesters from the court. This is what Republicans are doing and it's because, as I've said, it seems like they're actively trying to lose the midterms, but that's because they want to steal the midterms. They want to dispute their loss. They want to try to go to court. Donald Trump wants a trial run in which he can see what it looks like to hunker down in his bunker with Natalie with his military hospital down there and try to end American democracy. This is not an exaggeration. This is not a hair on fire. This is just a fact, which is why we do have to deliver this devastating blow, but also why we need to be talking about this right now and be putting systems in place to make sure that Donald Trump cannot steal elections, then also not capitulating in advance by meeting with Jared Kushner, just a fucking stupid thing to do, but Thomas Massey seems to be helping out and making sure that Mike Johnson loses his majority and is humiliated in the process. Massey blasts Johnson for calling him stupid for correctly predicting Speaker would send House to recess. Thomas Massey fired back at Speaker Mike Johnson for calling him stupid for predicting something that did, in fact, happen. Massey lost his primary in May to Ed Galrain in Navy Seal who was endorsed by Donald Trump. It was a bitterly fought race in the most expensive House primary in U.S. history. Key among the issues where Massey broke with Trump was over the Epstein files with the Congressman pushing discharge petitions for their release, including a new one he filed this summer. The Kentucky Congressman is among those who lost his primary to Republican challengers, backed by the President, and now seemingly less willing to hold their tongues. A few days after losing to Galrain, Massey announced he had filed to run to retake his seat in the 2028 elections. On Tuesday, Massey posted on his truth social media that he and several other members had launched a discharge petition to force a vote on an updated second bill to release the files related to deceased predator Jeffrey Epstein. However, noted Massey, there were rumours that Johnson will soon recess the House until after midterm elections, which he speculated would be done to avoid the vote. Massey wrote on Twitter yesterday, Rokana and I launched a discharge petition to collect 218 signatures to force a vote on the release of the files. Now there are rumours Mike Johnson will soon recess the House until after the midterm elections to avoid a vote. Question mark. Johnson reacted to Massey's post with indignation when he was asked about it later that day, saying, "Let me tell you how stupid Thomas Massey's comment is." He said the comment was stupid because, of course, Republicans are absolutely not avoiding work or a vote on the files, but what turned out to actually happen? Massey fired back though today, tweeting a fire emoji in screenshots of his Tuesday tweet and the updated House calendar with the recess dates crossed out because, of course, the House is shutting down. So not only is Massey mocking Mike Johnson as he should for shutting down the House, but he's making the connection between the files and the shutting down of Congress because that's what's going on. They are shutting down Congress to protect Donald Trump from having to see another vote on the files, which is not a really great closing argument for the midterms. It's like, "Hey, you know that war that you really hate? Yeah, we're not doing anything to stop that. You know those prices that are really high? We're not doing anything to lower those. And you know those files that you want released and Donald Trump said he wanted released and he was lying about wanting them released? Yeah, we're not going to release them. And we're also going home early and we don't work anymore. So elect us again." Republicans don't want to do the job of governing and they're making it clear. And I love the smug ass-holy nature that Mike Johnson's like Thomas Massey's stupid and he's got no idea what he's talking about. We would never shut down the House except 24 hours later I'm shutting down the House. It's idiotic. It's ridiculous. Everybody knew that this is what Mike Johnson was going to do because everyone knows that Mike Johnson cannot effectively run the House, which is why there's been new reporting that we've covered that Mike Johnson, if, if, if, and I think this is going to be the case, obviously it's going to be the case. And he's no longer the Speaker of the House. He does not want to be the minority leader. So he would not stay in any sort of power position in the Republican conference. So when Republicans lose the House and they lose the majority, Mike Johnson will also lose his control over the Republican conference because Republicans do not like him. There are a lot of intraparty fights. They don't think that Mike Johnson's done a good job. They don't think that he has the ability to whip the vote, spring bills to the floor, actually get votes on them, get things passed. They don't think Mike Johnson would be obviously an effective opposition leader either. And so when Republicans lose the House, and it's going to happen, Mike Johnson will also lose all of his power, which is just fantastically delicious. And I love so much so Thomas Massey's is really driving that stake in. And it is also brilliant timing to bring forth this file's petition because it further connects the Republican party to Donald Trump's attempts to cover up the files, which of course they are connected, but they will tell you, oh no, I voted to release them. They didn't want to do it and they don't want to do it now. And Republicans, especially House Republicans, will Senate Republicans as well, are terrified of being tied to Donald Trump and Harriet and broke down why. Democrats are down on their knees. They're begging, please, please, please allow the selection to be about Donald Trump. Because if you can see this right now, Republicans are actually outperforming President Trump. Look at that. Choose Republicans for a House. You get 41 percent of the electorate who say that approval of President Trump. He's only at 37 percent. So right now Democrats are actually underperforming where they should be given where President Trump's popularity is. And Republicans are overperforming Democrats are begging please President Trump get involved in these midterm fights. We can do even better than we're doing right now and of course they are in fact leading right now on the generic congressional ballot by about six seven or eight points depending on high average. So if it is about Trump, you know what are some of the numbers tell us there? Yeah, okay. There's another reason that we know that Democrats want this election to be about President Trump and the way we can see this is break down your congressional vote, right? The choice for Congress if your vote is a message about Trump, either positive or negative. Look at this Democrats lead by 27 points among those voters, 27 points among all the other voters. The voters who say this is not in fact their vote is not in fact the message that they're trying to send about President Trump. Look at that. Republicans are leading by 19 points. So Democrats absolutely want this midterm to be about Trump because the voters who say that their vote is about sending a message to Trump, Democrats are crushing. The voters who say it isn't, Republicans are actually the ones leading. So if the President is trying to reach a higher number of voters with this message, hey make the election about me, are there voters out there who might be attracted to that message you weren't already with them? No, no. This is the whole thing, right? I think part of the reason he wants this to be about him is because maybe there's those Republican voters who would stay home, but if it's about me, hey those are the ones who come out in presidential years, right? Maybe they'll come out in the midterm. But take a look here. Republicans approval of President Trump. If you're already motivated to vote in 2026, right? Your approval rating of Trump is 81%. If you look at those who are not made motivated to vote, those who aren't either extremely are very motivated to vote at this point. Look at this. Republicans approval of President Trump, their approval of President Trump is just 58%. The Republicans who are depressed right now are the ones who actually are far more likely to dislike the President of the United States. The ones who are already motivated to turn on vote, they are the ones who like President Trump. So if you're going to motivate those Republicans on the sideline, the ones you're more likely to motivate are actually those who are more likely to dislike the President of the United States. Again, this is why Democrats are begging, please, please, please, let's make this a midterm about President Trump because the slew of data suggests that would be a very good midterm for them indeed. Well, a couple months to go. What are the prediction markets saying about the odds for the House? Yeah. If you take a look at the chance, take a look since June 1. You see that the Democratic chances are way up. They've been north of 80% versus south of it on June 1. You look back three months ago. So the bottom line is this, if this is a midterm about President Trump, Democrats are going to have a very happy election day election week indeed. Harry Ann, thank you. Thank you very much for that. And if we're making it about anything else, if idiots are talking about Hassan Piker because they work for Israel in corporations and not actually the Democratic voters, they need to be shut up and they need to be shut out and they need to be kicked out because you're not actually part of a coalition that wants to take on fascists, that wants to be the fascists, that wants to implement in affirmative agenda, you don't actually want to do that. Let's make that very clear. So those are my thoughts for what Democrats need to be doing. Just tie Republicans to Trump because he is the most unpopular thing in politics right now. And Mike Johnson is not doing a good job distancing himself from Trump, which is funny and just, again, shows why even Republicans are pissed at him. But we are going to call it all out.
