The podcast concludes a season with reflective honesty, acknowledging personal hardships such as the loss of a parent, a strained relationship, and a difficult flu season. Amid the chaos, the hosts celebrate their bond and highlight a standout moment at the Golden Globes, where Mary Beth’s interviews showcased her humor, authenticity, and emotional depth, resonating deeply with listeners. The episode also marks a pivotal pause in the show’s schedule—after one week off and a season filled with emotional and logistical challenges—the hosts announce a planned break to recharge, emphasizing the need for balance and care. To prepare for the future, they plan a "Heritage Collection" of beloved past episodes, rebranded and revisited, to honor the community’s favorite moments. This break is framed not as an end, but a necessary pause to return stronger, more grounded, and more present. The hosts express gratitude to sponsors like Article, Quince, Squarespace, and Senorita Drinks, which support their lifestyle and creative pursuits. They also touch on broader social issues, including political unrest and the importance of public voice, urging listeners to act with empathy, courage, and responsibility. The episode ends with warmth, humor, and a promise of return—emphasizing connection, resilience, and the enduring power of shared stories.

And the Sex and the City movie is the only thing from the library of Sex and the City that is not currently available on streaming, like, I would have to rent it, which it's worth four bucks to me to get this clip." "It must be about to be on Miss Sony for Delta One. It's like, it's eerily close." "The second one's on Max, the whole shut." "Yeah, yeah, yeah." "Oh, let the jammerson sink in." So, this sad dressing today is courtesy of Etsy, which we're going to get into later, but we actually have a lot of stuff to talk about seeing as this is our last episode for a while. Our last new episode. "It's just crazy how we started this season to how we are finishing it. That's ranged." "One week off. We had one week off this season. One week off." "One week off. "This should be a martini, my god." "My god, I'm going to throw him back." "You know, I said like, as far as how late I would be, this last time I'll do it." "I'm going to style out with some shoes." "Hey, if anyone can make being late look good, it's you, my love." "And thank you, I was like, I know, you're doing a brand act." "I'm doing a brand act, truly, it was so uptown, you can't even imagine." "And the city is both equipped and not equipped to survive a snowstorm." "So it's just like the roads were greasy." "I saw fire truck get stuck, because two cars were parked, snowbank, and it couldn't get thrown." "So it's affecting people in all walks of life, including firemen, podcasters, etc." "What have you?" "No, and I've always wanted someone to call me a podcaster." "I know." "Brah, yeah, and I will say, okay, I've just thought so many things this week." Your Benny Drama goes about shots and arms again." "You're slowly creeping in an anti-vax territory." "Oh, fully. I'm like, get the flu shot." "I'm telling people to get the flu shot, but I didn't get it. I got the worst flu. And now I'm still funny." "Well, it's so cold that the condensation in my nose from breathing was crystallized by the time I got to my workout this morning." "Oh." "It was fully looks like boogers, but it wasn't." And I don't mind that comparison at all." "Yes, chef." "I want to talk a little bit about the break that we're going on. So, something that's been proposed, just to keep people's palettes wet, wet, W-H-E-T, I think." "Age in there must be French." What we're thinking of doing is releasing the Heritage Collection, which would be episodes that are sort of, like, classics, that we will rename, like, the Bendy Eye episode, the Something Unbelievable's episode, the Love Corn episode. So, that it's the ones that people are constantly posting on the Reddit. Like, do you remember which episode they did, Ami Sista? "Criterion." "It's criterion adjacent." "Brave Little Toaster, I'm the blanket, so I just wanted to say that." "We're gonna do heritage episodes, and then we'll take a real break, and then we'll come back for season four." "Yeah." "So that's the plan, if that makes you angry, I'm so sorry, I guess, I'm sorry, that's all I can say." "We want to keep feeding you and bringing joy and laughter, but we do need a break, and we just don't want to, like, we feel like we need to wean you off the nipple a little bit." "Of course, and we said that exactly." "We'll need to come back." "We'll need to come back." "And we're coming back full force." "Yeah." "Stronger than ever." No one is wondering what you were doing. It's where I work. Wait. Oh my God. It's Z-A-A-I-N-A. Is it Zena? Zena? Oh my God. Zena's product philosophy is inspired by ancient beauty rituals from cultures worldwide. Okay. Fabulous. It's best bath bombs rooted in the tradition of longevity. When I put these in the bath and these sizzle around me and they go, oops, I'm going to start doing that in the lake. Just kidding. Yeah. Her going, she puts it in a water at dinner. And you go ice. I'm proud of it, babe. It smells so good. Oh, I'm happy. Thank you so much. Zena. Good work. Natural greens, clean beauty, mating USA, no animal testing, nontoxic. Come on now. Come on now. Benny and the big blue tub. Last one. This reminds me so much of PB teen. I got this. I actually can't remember where I got this wrapping paper. I love it. It's like, it's a boy side and a girl side. I know. What's she know? So this is good night, M.B. And this is good night, Benny. I'm going to start putting these on for when I'm on the phone with people so I won't text while I'm on the phone. Oh, wait. That's an amazing thing. And I can't stop texting when I'm on the phone and then I'm only half listening a lot of the time. That's, you know, not every call just see your eyes open right now or close. They were closed. But I took it off. Oh, well mine are open. That's beautiful. Thank you so much, Etsy. Thank you, Etsy. This is so cute. What's the brand? Letter party. Adorable. And we have a landing page for ride the pod. www.etsy.com/featured/ride. Good night, M.B. Right, Benny. I love that. That's so cute. Thank you, Etsy. And this is adorable. That's a real piñata. What do you put in it? Candy. What kind of candy? I was hoping you'd do that because we don't have a, you don't have a bat. We ride for you, Etsy. Thank you so much for all the swag and the cocktail picks and the banner with our faces. I'm going to, I am going to bring these home for a future party for sure. Okay. And obviously the presents. But yeah. That's fun to bring someone back to your apartment. And they're like, okay. They're like, huh? What are, what kind of, what's the personality type? We're working with you. Who press events? Yeah. Yes. That's you with the globes, right? We thrive. The earrings are beautiful, by the way. The earrings are completely fabulous. Mm-hmm. The lamb was gorgeous. Miss French. We never said, I think I know. I never said I was Alex French. I know what you're wearing in that photo. Wells Bonner. Yeah. The orange and blue stripes. I love that look. Ask me. And show me any Benny drama floating ahead and I'll tell you what he was wearing at the function. It's hot old. I'm 1993. Maybe 94. Maybe 94. Maybe 94, it just depends. It just depends. Source from Gabriel Haldvillant's vintage. Backly. Stalk by cat. Stalk by cat. Wow. Shop at sea to find items that make it easy to celebrate all types of love, including your BFF. Wait. Where are we going? Who cares? Ride. Before we get into what we ride for, I want to do a quick state of the union. Mm-hmm. I'm just-- Oh. What a state it is in. My god. It's hard. Take it away, darling. So where is it? Sometimes I don't speak on these things because I just don't want to clip of me talking about it on Fox News again. And like my brother to get texts asking if I have AIDS. That's why I'm not doing it. There you go. Mic drop. So I agree with lit to really everything this woman says. We have conversations about it all the time. I just got really freaked out when it was me on camera and my face was plaster on Fox News. And I was sent death threats for a long time. For the vaccines. You're protecting yourself and your peace. Yes. Also, I think enough male comedians jump in. I agree. Let's just hear you. Thank you. Let's just hear you, darling. You have the floor. I wrote this out. I'm reading off my phone because I don't want to mess it up. People all over the country and the world are scared and they are understandably on edge. Our government is sending an untrained, legally armed militia into our cities to terrorize, abduct, and murder people, period. They are going after anyone they deem a threat to the terror they are enacting. They are going after children, parents, citizens, and probably even some cousins. To all the beroenies and Minneapolis who are standing up to this fascist regime and the murderous army it is enabling, thank you. We love you so much. We see you and we love you. And this is just one of the countless horrors the American government is perpetuating in this current moment. We have many, many, many battles before us. To everyone else who has to move about the world under these conditions.
under extreme emotional dress, we see you and we love you as well. Do your best to lead with love and joy even when that feels like it's not possible. Take breaks, drink water, see friends, laugh when you can. Please stay safe, we don't know when this will end but we have to keep fighting. I thought about it a lot and what I realized is there's nothing scarier than a man who has failed. I used to think it was a man on Coke. A straight man on Coke was a scary thing in the world. Now I know there's nothing scarier than a man who has failed. The reality show got canceled so now a nurse gets shot dead in the street. You couldn't get a job so now you're kidnapping and detaining children. No one would have sex with you so now you film yourself saying that women shouldn't have the right to vote. I understand men are victims of this system too but it's time to wake the fuck up. We have to continue to challenge the system and change the system, lock in for the midterms, look up who's running in your area and find candidates you align with, donate money, get involved, have difficult conversations with people close to you who may not align with you. We have the army of love behind us and we will not fail. Thank you. A state of the union. And many Americans don't have that. And so that is why they're not able to do so. Like such as in the Iraq and the Africa and everywhere it like such as. I knew exactly what she meant and I think that was if these walls could talk during your state of the union. You're so brilliant. You're so genius. The world is fucked. But you know what? I'm so inspired by you. I'm so inspired by Natalie Portman right now. I think she's fabulous. She's on a press tour and she's like, I'm not talking about that. Yeah. I'm locking in. Yeah. But she said this thing of like she was like, I couldn't be more proud to be American because of the American people fighting against this and then also I couldn't be more devastated to be American because of the government. And I feel that so deeply in my core. I think that all the time too of like, I don't know, the way like young people speak out. I was thinking about this because, you know, obviously there's such a policing of like posting about it of like how how much people are posting and I thought it was amazing when Billy Eilish was like, why aren't more famous people posting about this? I think that was incredible. It is so easy for everyone to just be like more people should post about it and also make sure you are. And I think some people are like, but I don't have the reach. It's like, I don't know, there's still such like an intimate following that I think even like the people and like my family who don't do something public or, you know, like that, it's important for those people to see that as well. That is such a good point. And you have intimate relationships with all the people who are following you. And like that feels like conversations that need to be had. So I also really, I think it should go both ways. I really make sure that you yourself are expecting the most out of what you can do as much as you are people that you see on TV or on the internet. I don't know. It's like, I agree. I think we all should be doing it, but you're not off the hook just because you don't have a million followers. Yeah, I agree. And actually, my brother Tom posted something that like brought me to tears because he doesn't, we obviously all align politically, but he doesn't always post about politics. Yeah. And he mentioned that in this like story post that he did and it was just so beautifully written. And he was just thinking how he lives in Texas and I just think, yeah, maybe there are some people that like, I think for our followers, I would say a majority of them probably align with us politically. Yeah. So even though we have this big volume, it's like, you're so right. Like the impact it could make for someone who actually knows everyone that follows them and they might not agree, they might be seeing someone opening up that way for the first time and it might make them think about it differently. So I agree. And I, it's really hard to find the balance of you don't want to seem performative, but you want to get the information out there. Okay. So the worst case scenario is that someone is doing it and being performative. They're still posting it and it's still out there. It's still something that needs eyes getting eyes. I'm just kind of like, yeah, I mean, there's no winning in it, but that's not really the point. Yeah. So I just, yeah, if there's criticism, I just have to not listen to that because I did post about this economic blackout that will have already happened. Yeah. And some people said like it was tone deaf or insensitive and it's like me posting about no shopping, no school no work is not tone deaf. That's me spreading a message of activism, of collective action that I want people who are able to participate to participate. If you are not, then you don't. But like I'm spreading awareness, it's not, it's not a full strike. Like it, it would take a lot of planning and probably like a central organization to accomplish that in such a big country. But to try to make an impact and make a dent is still very worthy. It's like, so who should post about that? Only people that might lose their jobs if they take off work, like we're self employed. But like we still, you know, we're not going to shop tomorrow. It's like we're still doing what we can. And that's all I think you're asking people and it's like also, you know, with I think the plethora of things that are being posted. It's like you can see that you can do some things and that you can't do others. I remember it was during Black Lives Matter. So I had a friend who was like really terrified of like being out in groups of like protesting. And I'm like, there are other ways to contribute and I think that that's the conversation. It's like just, if that doesn't work for you or you can't feasibly do that, like, well, of course, but there are other ways. So you don't need to like feel so guilty or I think it comes from a place of like, well, fuck it. Like, I can't do that. So fuck you for saying it's like, no, no, no, no, no one's mad. It's just like, let's try to do this for the people that can. Right. Yeah. People who are on the correct side, we all want the same thing. Yeah. So we're going to have different access to help accomplish that and different ways of doing it based on our comfort level, our level of safety, you know, anxieties and stuff like that. So I just think like try not to be too critical. And if you are, maybe just screenshot and send it to a group chat instead of DMing the person or posting about it. Because I think I think it scares people away from saying anything. When saying something can be put under a microscope like that. Yeah. Of course, you want people to back up their posts with actions and we hope they're doing that. But it might not be publicly. It might be privately. You don't know what they're what they're doing privately. Yeah. And the private. Oh, God. It's so strange, I think, to share things out into the world. And that is something that I think every one of us does now, like via social media. So I feel like in doing that, it's just interesting how much people think they know about people or know every circumstance or also don't bring like, I think some of the like courtesy or kindness that they would bring to like a family member or a friend of like, I think there's probably a reason that they're not doing that or not saying, you know, or that they are saying X, Y, Z. Yeah. Just let's all be kind to each other. I know that it's really hard. I think everyone's so tense and on edge and I'm noticing it just being out in the world right now, like interactions that a pedestrian is crossing the street and the car stops a little bit close to the crosswalk and it's like the person explodes. It's like in a normal circumstance, we could probably move through that interaction. They could fall in love. They could become lovers and get married. Yeah. That's a meat cue. Sex that night. Meat cue. Sex that night. Happy Valentine's Day. Me love. Literally. So I think just deep breaths. It's so hard. I'm not judging anyone for how they're coping with it except if you're doing coke on a night out and you don't bring gum or drink a lot of water. That's a full judgment. So if you're trying coke breaths in my face, I don't care what's happening under fascism. Get some water. Thank you. Get some water. You've got dry mouth. And it smells like booty cheeks in there. It smells like booty cheeks. So should we get into what we ride for now we fix the country? Well we fix the country. Check. Check. Check. Check. Done. I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sick. Don't. What? Wait. I love when you did that. What? I just liked it. You liked that. Yeah. I can't believe you know what people. I've gotten so many messages about you saying that I got my sparkle back. And I bought you a pinata to celebrate. Someone said the sweetest thing to me they deemed and they're like the way that you two love each other is like so special to me. Someone said I think you guys are best friends in every lifetime. Oh my god. There was that thing that you sent me that was like this many people in the world and so we met. Yeah. So I ride for Mary Beth Brown at the Golden Gloves and I want to talk. Don't look at me. Well I say this. Okay. Okay. We met at that like stand up show or whatever and I remember the like moment is that I was watching you and I was just like that's she's just such a star like she's so magnetic. And I felt also that I like knew you and I had known you for so long. Something about it felt like we were old friends like I was just like there's history here. It's something that's happened a few times I think and I feel really lucky about that because I think that nothing makes someone happier than like I don't know seeing something in someone and then when everyone then sees it I just like and that's how I felt with Charlie during Brad where I'm like this person I just I'm like oh my god that's so amazing. And I was traveling when you did the globes and like each day people coming up to me because you're my wife and bringing it up to me. I had such insane reactions because I was just like it's incredible like did you see the latest one like I was quizzing them on it because I had watched them so much for anyone who doesn't know this would be insane if you don't but Mary Beth Brown interviewed full name, biological Mary Elizabeth Brown interviewed guests at the Golden Globes and the Golden Globes officially like posted the clips and the interviews were so genius and funny and dry and sexy and you had crazy chemistry with some people that we'll get into I maybe believe them but you got something.
- You're gonna say, boy, (laughs) - Check your shorts, boy. - We're gonna believe that. - Is that some (beep) in your pants or are you happy to see me? - But, but I started getting so overwhelmed 'cause I was just like, you don't even know how much this one has worked and also like how awful your year was. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I cannot stress enough like how bad of a year you had. - Yeah. And. - Court said it was the worst year of anyone he's ever known. - It's just so many else. - Yeah. - But your dad would have been so proud of you. And like it literally makes me so sad. - Yeah. - And I know he saw it because I believe in the universe and like he wherever his spirit is was howling. - He might be the ghost in my apartment. We don't know. - He's the ghost in my apartment. - And I have sex with your dad. - Yeah. - Grandpa Terry's gone. (both laughing) - God, what a year, kid. - It just, the way that you bodied it and you brought warmth to it, the questions were genius. - Thank you, George Severus. - George Severus, who's like one of the most fabulous. - He's just such a nice. - I need him to write with you forever. It was like a true master. And that's how I felt watching your standup in the past few months. It's like, it's masterful. And it's so, I, you're in flow state, kid. What do you want me to say? You're in fucking flow state. I had to fully write for it because if I didn't know you, I would have come on this podcast and that would have been whatever. - Wait, that's interesting. - And that's, I just, I watched them like candy. I still go back to them. I have like, you bringing up Komal's jaw. I'm gonna just shout out some of my favorites. You and Joe Keri's wicked chemistry. Come on. Give me that comedy. You, oh my God. You and Io was really fabulous. That was kind of like. - I was a fun reunion. - I'd piss those out. Come on, girls. Back and forth. - Joke to joke. - Two women can have a quick little chat. - I know it really was. And oh my God, I just, wow. There's, I speak for everyone on the internet when I say smash that out of the park, eight it down, Chanel is in the building boots, devoured, eight it up, spit it out again and should have been nominated for overcompensating. - Should have been nominated for my Golden Globes coverage. - No, but you should have been nominated for overcompensating. So it's just cool that you got to go and just be like the funniest person in the room. - Well, thank you. I felt, I felt I had to make not only you proud but the entire community of Boronis, most of you. It's a lot of pressure to be on the world stage like that. And so I was scared. I was, I had a-- - It's the most nervous I've ever seen you. - I had a healthy amount of nerves about the situation. I just really wanted to make everyone proud and just show up and do it my own way, which luckily the Golden Globes and Jeremy overt the Golden Globes. They gave George and I a lot of room and space to really make it fun. - Yeah. - And I talked to so many people, I did 50 interviews. Some of them will never see the light of day for various reasons. Nothing dramatic at all, no drama, no gossip. - You can't release all of this. - You can't release all of them. Everyone walked up to that little area with me and they were just like, I don't think any of them knew what was coming, but they all took it in stride and they kind of, you can see like wanted to have a little fun. - Well, the second you give them that permission, I think it was so fun watching them be like, oh my god, yeah, like this is so, like the, do you have anyone to apologize to? Like they're just the questions that I think, what was the one that? - Oh my god, you had one that was so, any nominees you find annoying? - Yeah, any actress. - Ah, that's so incredible. The whole thing was very human and that like, everyone did have answers for all those things. You can't obviously say all of it. - You can't be that out of pocket, but it was so fun to like watch them be able to play ball a little bit and just like, oh my god. - The response was so overwhelming that I was just waiting. I was like hiding under the covers, waiting for people to turn on me about something and just waiting for like some sort of blowback. - No. - Still waiting for it, hasn't happened yet, but still waiting. - Do you have a special coming in season two? - So it's a matter of time. And to that end, I just wanna say I'm not perfect. I've made, I've said this before. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and I am pretty upfront about the fact that I'm flawed. I'm not presenting as someone that's perfect. So like, I am. - And you are and that's what really would differ, but I had so much fun and I think it was a fun challenge to try to like match people's energy too, but I would say in general, like just thank you to everyone who watched, thank you to the Golden Globes, thank you to you for being my rock. - Thank you. - Just Golden Globes, Jeremy over there at Golden Globes. Thank you. And can I say thank you to Jeremy at the Golden Globes? - Thank you to Jeremy and I wanted to say also, I wasn't aware of this in the moment, but when I was watching them back, I just saw like so much of my dad in those interactions. And so it made me feel grateful and I miss him. I think you're right. I think he's seen them. - He's seen them. - They definitely have Instagram Reels wherever he is. - Of course, of course, antique talk. - Yeah. - So, I hope you enjoyed the comment section, but yeah, people, it was, it was truly like a highlight of my life, I would say. - It's a career best. - I mean, asking the rock to pick me up. Like, you just don't get opportunities like that. - You and the Alice wig in overcompensating, I know that was a really big career. - That was so fun. - That was one of those big career checks for you. It's everyone who brought up. I said, "Glorious morning." - Yeah, you did. - You know? - I heard you. - God, you just, and everyone just being like, "God, gee," and I love that. It was the first thing people kept bringing up to me. And I'm like, literally, my wife is back in the States laying it down on y'all. - Yeah, well, I was waiting for you. You were away. - Well, of course. - What was I going to do while you were away? - Oh, God, what should I do? The globes? - I guess I'll do the globes carpet. - Of course. - Yeah. - Can I go do the globes carpet? Did you guys get it? - I need out of town, so. - You know, it's funny. You're out of town next week. And so I said yes to something, 'cause I'm like, "Fuck it, the wife's gone." I'm going out on the town. - And the cats away, don't do any gay stuff. - It's actually deeply not gay, opposite of. - I can't wait to hear what it is. - You love it, boom, boom. - You fucking killed it. - I am speechless. You know, compliments are tough for me. I want to come back at you with things that I would have done differently. Also, it's really hard, 'cause sometimes when you're watching that stuff back, you're just like, "Oh, I wish I did that differently." But this was good for me to just release that, 'cause you can't. You can't and it's so scary and hard and you killed it. And what a great lead into you going to tape a perfect hour of comedy. - And then I get to hold you in Toronto. We get to just both BeeperNet and just have a good out time in the winter. - And look so much alike. - We look so much alike in the season. And we're in so many more scenes together. - I keep writing. - No spoilers. - No spoilers. - But I know all the spoilers. - I know, isn't that crazy? - You know everything. - I know. - Guess what? I always do. - Seniorita, it's been a drama. - So many of our listeners may know that-- - My friend has a [bleep] - I have, I feel like we probably can't say that. - Well, they'll tell us, bleep that word. My friend is [bleep] - I haven't knew a [bleep] bleep it with this Seniorita THC Marguerita non-alcoholic. So as many people may know, two cases of these arrived at my apartment right before Thanksgiving. And I thought to myself, well, while we're giving thanks, what better way to bond with the family and the cousins than to crack open one of these, do a little taste test and just do actually a focus group in many ways. So I brought home the two cases. They flew off the shelves. - It was, the reviews were in, 10 out of 10. It was a, it was a tower smash. - Oh my God, 10 out of 10 cousins agree that's Seniorita Marguerita. - So good. - Non-alcoholic THC. So what we love about, what we love about these drinks is the taste, of course. - Yes. - We love the taste. We love the, in the impact, this year's all about impact. - Well, what could be better than impact? And make, make art, make trouble. - Make trouble. - Make impact, Seniorita. - Drinks, Seniorita. - So, and also the flavors. So this is great fruit. It's a taste like a Paloma. It's non-alcoholic, THC. Real juice, organic agave, fast onset, and low calorie. So that's my bio. If you wanna know a little something about me.
There's also a ranch water flavor, and I believe there's like a lime jalapeno. - jalapeno. - jalapeno. - Yeah, of course. - So what's amazing about these drinks, non-alcoholic low calories still gives you a chill buzz. - Please. - And if these walls could talk. So they come in five and 10 milligram. - Yes. - And I just can't, you know, I'm not drinking till after I do my specials, I think. - Yes, yeah. - And so I think I'll be cracking open a few more of these. - You said to me after lunch yesterday, you go, "I want to send your Eater right now." - Okay, you drink. - No, I know it. Also it was like cold out. I'm like, that sounds really nice. Having that and watching Casablanca, which is what we did the other night. It was really fabulous, 'cause you don't always want to drink, and but you need like a little something after a long day. You just want to relax, and it's just really, it's like a non-guilty way, although I'm done with guilt. - No, but it's no hangover. - But it's no hangover, it's really fabulous. Senorita, I feel for you. - Senorita, you have our attention. For a better buzz without the booze, check out senoritadrinks.com. And yeah, I'm reading off my phone, 'cause I don't want to miss a beat. Find senorita and any of their four delicious flavors at senoritadrinks.com. Your cabana awaits. Visit senoritadrinks.com to get these delicious THC marries shipped right to your door. - Your cabana awaits. - Must be 21 plus. And then it goes without saying, please enjoy responsibly. - Yeah, don't be weird. 21 and over, please drink responsibly. We beg of you, my God. Have some respect for your life and for others. We love you so much. - If I may, well first of all, that is so kind. And I'm just, I'm just glad I made you proud and I hope to continue. - I'm fan first and I'm gay. So I'm still, I love also other gay guys like bringing you up to me. I'm just like, girl, you could never, like you're not bringing in money for her. - You could never, well you could never be your husband. - You could never. - You could handle it. - You could never be her husband. - An handle it. - Absolutely not. - Yeah. - And part of that means part of being my husband, it's answering the damn phone. An art that we have lost as a culture. Is the art of not texting someone and saying, "Hey, I'm gonna call you. Hey, are you free? Hey, what are you doing?" - Try to try to bang. - Get that yana out. I can't even talk anymore. - Snark, just keep snarking. - Let me get you out. - And yeah, and then he's, I'm just gonna style that out. I was, I'm fine. I was selling out with the shorts and everything. - What I've been doing lately is part of my taking the power back, 2026 and radical honesty. I am taking that phone out and I'm dialing. I am not texting first. I'm not setting time. And if you're free or free and if you're not, well, expect to never hear from me again. Something beautiful about our friendship. We talk on the phone multiple times per day. And it has not changed since you moved to New York. If anything, we're just the absolute amount of minutes we're talking is more because now I can just take a cab right to your apartment, which thank God. I've never experienced a long distance best friend moving back. - They use shut down. - And I mean, I could ride for that. - They're 45 minutes and I could ride for that. - They usually don't. They stay exactly. They blew more planet. - They blew more planet and you didn't. - Does it say blue more planet than any of this? - I don't know. - Let me check. - I don't think so. - Not yet. - I would say that our phone calls be them one minute or an hour plus. Here's what I will say. And this is actually not speaking as much to phone calls, but I don't have a question anyone right now. And I will say there's one person that can text me. That gives me the feeling of a crush. - And it's you. - That makes me so happy. - Do you know my favorite thing you do is if I send Mary Beth like a script or recently, I sent her this like song thing. It'll all make sense later. - Yeah. - I sent her a beat and I gotta call me right now. And I was just like, oh, this is gonna get the full. You covering your. - When you make me cry laughing, I call you immediately. - Exactly, you answered and you said, I think you should be put into prison. - But it's really funny. - Yeah. - Whenever you send me something and I cry laughing, that's just, I need to immediately let you know. 'Cause when I say LMAO, it's like, no, I need to show you right now that there are tears streaming down my face. And I think we could all benefit from a little more phone communication. I decided the next person I have a crush on if I get their number, if I wanna make them, if I wanna make them, if I wanna make plans with them, I'm just gonna call them. I'm sick of pussy-funny around. We're doing way too much pussy-footing in culture these days. - I agree, it's such a pussy-foot type of culture. - It is. - I think this could shock Gen Z. I think they're right now. Their blood is coming out of their eyeballs. - Because they're just snapscoring each other, whatever. - Yeah, you're all snapscoring and sending each other your old buttholes. But here's my thing. (laughs) I totally agree. I've been doing just lot facetimes too. Like, you're gonna see me. - You're gonna see me. And I'm gonna-- - She's kicking in. Look at me. - Look at me. I'm gonna see you in your red light therapy. You're gonna scare Pinkie. - Of course. - But we're gonna be happy to have you on the horn. - She seems to have learned it. - Really? - They never really bothered her. Yeah. - Yeah. - Here's me a little bit. - I know. It kind of scares everyone. But for some reason Pinkie's just kind of like, yeah, that's my good sis. - I just would say, like, I'll pose this question to you, the reader, dear reader. - Me? - Just to everyone in the culture. Like, what if you just, what if you just called them? - What if you just called them? I've had a few times recently where I was just like, maybe I'll just call or sometimes I'm like, oh, I get in my head because I'm like, oh, we haven't caught up in a while, like, and I don't have like a full hour to do a full catch up. But that's fine. You just say that to them. It's like, I just wanna say hi. We have so much more to talk about. - Oh my god. - I just wanted to say the art of ending a phone call. I actually, Jake gives me credit for teaching him this, which is I have to go. - I gotta go. - I gotta go. - Isn't that like that? - I gotta go. - Isn't that what this whole show is built on? I gotta go. - But then you just, you're like, oh, I have to go right now. But like, nice chatting. We'll chat again soon. God willing. - Yeah. - Oh, please. And I know we will. And maybe like, it'll be so big that we face time on our laptops. When you get us on a FaceTime on a laptop. - Honey, it might as well be an episode of Ride. - Honey. - The things that we say on the phone are so goddamn unholy. - I know. - Like the truths that we tell, and the truths that we seek on those calls. It could bring down entire, like, governments. - I know. Hell in Detroit. - And one day we will. - No, and one day we will. - I think that Quentin Tarantino saying that about Paul Dano is mean. - My thing is, like, it's an opinion. I don't agree with him. And I don't agree with that. - I don't agree with that. - Bad mouth actors, I guess. But like, I think the world could benefit from a little bit more, like, just radical honesty. I don't know why he brought up Paul Dano in that moment. He does seem a little kind of weird. But it's like a pocket of all the actors. - Yeah. - Of all the actors and all the town. - Yeah. - He had to come into mind. - He did bring up Paul Dano. - I loved us. I loved us watching Casa Blanca. - Yeah, we should do like more, well, one day we'll have a show that's just of us watching stuff. - And what's it called? - Gogglebox. - Gogglebox. - What do you think it was called? - Oh, I don't even know. - Moves box. - Gogglebox. - Gogglebox. - I'm, I love this. - Yeah. - I would love to do that with you. - I know. - What should we watch? - Or mystery science theater vibes. - Oh, that's so much fun. Yeah, we were, I had this thought because I watched Titanic on a plane and you had just watched it. - Talk about a movie that's like a movie that you see in the movies. I mean, holy shit, they don't make them like that anymore. - It's such a goddamn movie or literally like the amount of this that could have been cut for time and they're just like-- - It wasn't. - By the way, the next hour is gonna be the entire hour when the ship went down by the way. - Also the flirtation between the guy capturing the ship or whatever his job is like excavating and the granddaughter is just like such a fun little detail that they did not have to write in. - No. - It really landed for me. - There's kind of not one part of that that doesn't include in Billie Zayn's eyebrows. - And eyeliner, eyeliner. - Mama, she's got a smoke. - Yeah. - She's got the cold. - I know exactly what brush they use. - She said, Leo, after you draw my fiance, Nikki on the pillowcase, give me some of that cold. - I gotta smudge it. - Give me some of that charcoal. - Yes, he took the charcoal from the sketch and-- - I know. - He went like this. - Kate Winslin in it. Her beauty strikes me so much throughout. Like I obviously Leo's done, but hers, her beauty in that film is like, it's shocking. It's she is so magnetic and such a like full movie star in it. I can't even, but I wanted to Gogobox it with you. - Gogobox, yeah. - Gogobox it. So I wanted to Gogobox, that might be something I just never get. - And that's okay. - Gogobox, thinking of us watching Titanic. Maybe we'll do that. - He blight talks you on the phone, you. - Me. - Jake, my sister, Vicki, my mom. - Jake Samus said you called him recently. - Like I called him. - I don't know where. - Yeah, I'm gonna do that. - I love that. - One thing about me is if I fuck with you, I'm gonna call you on the phone. - Literally. - Why would I not? I wanna hear your voice. I wanna check in. - That's why sometimes I FaceTime, I'm like, I wanna know what you're doing right now and I wanna see you do it. - FaceTime is good. Calls are good if you have some stuff to do on the house or if you're driving. FaceTime is good if you can really lock in and pay attention. But what I'm gonna do now when I call people is I'm gonna put this little mask on because I wanna be fully present. And actually, I closed my eyes. I was on a phone call yesterday and I did this to myself and I was just really listening. - See, for me, then I would be so in my head of like it being, I don't know. - Try it. - I would start to like hear my voice too much. Oh, I'm yawning. - Uh-oh, it is late. - Go on. - Go on. (laughing) - Oh my God. - Oh my God. - And my God. - So we can't lose this season. - No. - So what do you ride for yourself at the Golden Globes? You narcissistic fucking witch. - I can't believe you dropped that on me and you didn't let me like prepare a bestie thing that we could do jointly. Like I would have said I ride for you moving back to New York. - Well, then just do that. It's I don't want you to feel forced. My God, this came from the dome. - You've been struggling to think of things to ride for recently. So I didn't know what the hell you're gonna bring today. - I know. Just lately, I think, and I think I said this on here. Just sometimes I do think the little breaks allow us to then,
have a little extra time to I know I we need to break new ground. I need to find new rides. I need to get out there and find new rides and one caveat and one caveat for what I said my state of the union like I don't know everything there is to know I mess up maybe there's more I could be doing but like I just want to say that because I just want to acknowledge what's going on. We're trying but I'm not saying I'm perfect. I don't think anyone's taking that but I do think they know that you're a skinny white bitch who thinks she knows so much about politics sits in her fucking high horse in her Connecticut house and thinks that she's some fucking do good fuck you. I said I want honey. I'm gonna sell it out with some shoes. Do you know what you are Marybeth? bisexual. Oh yeah but you're also my ride or die. Ride or die. So I do ride for myself with the golden globes. It's really hard for me to say that. Thank you for putting me in a position. Well finally a woman can give herself a fucking compliment. You guys should really think about it. Can I just say that? It was good for me in my anxieties. It was good exposure therapy. But I love hearing a woman go you know I have nice calves. I'm like oh couldn't be me. Come on. Yeah maybe we'll celebrate ourselves more. How about in the break we just we have more gratitude. We celebrate ourselves. We show up for each other. I think showing up maybe I'm gonna ride next season for showing up for each other. You've shown up for me this year in a huge way. You've shown up for me. It's been like I've never felt closer to a person. Ever ever. It's crazy. Your wins are my wins. Your elves are my elves. No the whole time I went. Can anyone bring up something else other than this fucking stupid golden globes thing? It's not even the Oscars. Does anyone care? I'm riding season two. All right you guys want to talk. Can you imagine? It's so funny when people are kind of weird like that. I know some people really are scary. I'm scared by so many people but I am endlessly proud of you. What a dog shit year you had and this year is going to be so fabulous and I know your dad would be so proud of you. He is so proud of you. We are also proud of you and this was such a sacred space for me throughout the whole year. We love you so much here at Ride. I'm happy you could come on the show. I'm happy to be here. Thanks for asking me. Yeah of course. You know when it's my big takeaway was I'm just going to keep being myself and hope that it reaches the right people. Totally because that was me saying I'm going to double down on who I am for these conversations and thank you to everyone that really played ball and had fun and yeah and I'm just grateful for the opportunity to show who I am and and hopefully have a little fun along the way. It's not all serious stuff guys we can have fun. No you inspire me because sometimes I think on those those things too you want to have such like polished answer and it's like this whole like PR training but it is just like I kept getting asked about like really personal things recently and now I just kind of like answer. Well when they ask you really tough questions that are thinkers that maybe they think are really quick answers because now we've been on the other side of it. I'm like oh I want to give people multiple choice questions. I want to give people more humorous questions or like would you rather things like that and I do want to shout out the ultimate legend who paved the way for all the girls on the red carpet that were to come and that's Miss Joan Rivers and she is the queen of I don't know that was the show. I don't know exactly what they were I know she made a lot of off-color jokes in her day but set the stage and made it okay for women to be a little a little. I don't agree fully with anyone I know on earth or that I ride for except you. Do you ride for calling people out of the blue? You know what I ride for calling people out of the blue because I want to do it more and I hope that I can you know actually sometimes I feel like I I do it a lot on sets sometimes because it's like oh I just want to have a little time you got yourself stuff. Yeah you got to resolve stuff I need to call my friends and family more I've been in such a whole I think writing and healing of sorts so I think I yeah and just feeling kind of like insecure and yeah I don't know I'm bad I don't necessarily always work through things with people sometimes I really like to be like I need to go into a cocoon and heal and fix all these things and get an apartment and just write the season like I'm kind of like let me hunker down and then when I re-emerge bloom more planet bloom more planet forget it bloom bloom more planet when you are feeling really sad about the current state of the world and you're feeling isolated when you feel helpless cold call a friend yeah I love this make a plan go out go trapeze go trapeze go go learn go take a stilts class you okay us picture this oh I've you guys after season two I'm gonna cut my hair really short diet blonde and I'm gonna trapeze you have to you have to change you've to what's this okay I just kind of I didn't know that was gonna be big enough for your head it's certainly not you have to do a corner to corner to corner corner to corner triangulate it oh yeah these are monogram by the way here oh I know they're really cute you struggling with this this everything I'm thinking of this one fashion program I forgot I think it was on prime oh my god you look I'm gonna sign it out with the shoes you look like you're in the workroom unrupped you're a little girl no one doesn't beat like me you going down I browse right now it's everything and this would be something where they liked it they're like does he think he's trade or something you know what I mean we will be back next week with an episode don't let that be my last word don't let that be my last word we back with an episode from the heritage collection we love you all so much we've loved this season if I'm like sad I know we need the break but I am sad I'm sad but when we come back oh my god we're gonna be so you're special eventapes seasons hell will bend and they can't that's so fun and we can't wait to oh my god there's so much more to give you we also might do live shows we're just figuring out if how that will work thanks for sticking with us even through the darkest of times this podcast is a shining light for us just as much as it is for you yes thank you guys oh I wrote for it called yeah I wrote for the calls last word yeah last word I'm gonna file it out listen she loves you can love your god yes I'm so much trouble what I'm fine just hearing so much back in trouble thank you on my perfect body which for you not okay at the end yeah okay great oh my exit any babe eyes on the road there you go ride ride please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services individuals on the show may have a direct or indirect financial interest in products or services referred to in this episode
