I'm, of course, your host, Jon Campion, joining me today all the way from the still very hot and sweltering Texas. We've got Sean Chandler here, ladies and gentlemen. Sean, how you doing? I'm doing good. Tomorrow I'm actually off to a film festival here in town where I'm going to have to stand outside in the 100-degree Texas heat waiting to watch movies with a bunch of other people who have been standing in the Texas heat. So it's going to be very sweaty, very gross, but very awesome. I remember this one time. So Dennis and I, we. Do you remember they put out that. Oh, what's the singer's name who sang. Katy Perry. That's her name. So Katy Perry had a documentary out a bunch. like a concert documentary out a few years ago. So they asked us. We were at AMC at the time. They asked us to come down. I don't know if we were at AMC or Collider at the time, but they asked us to come down and cover the red carpet for it because they're going to have all these people at it down in the middle of Hollywood. It was 102 degrees. Blistering sun. Like blistering sun. And they had us on the carpet with no shade. They didn't put up any covers or anything like that. No shade. No. And they were running. And shoulder to shoulder. 45 minutes late. So like I have darker hair so that I would touch the top of my head and I could hardly touch the top of my head because my hair was so hot. And I remember I got an earful because I think it was Paramount at the time. I got an earful because I was like, fuck this, we're out. We're gone. And me and Dennis packed up and left and like Paramount was over there. You know, that spot on the carpet could have gone to somebody else. I'm like, first of all, fuck you. We didn't need to be there. And second of all, you started and you were an hour late with a standing in the bright sun in 102 degrees. I'm sorry, but no. Anyway, so that I can just picture you now, Sean. I hope there's no delay on getting you inside tomorrow. Oh, it'll be interesting. They used to have a lobby at this theater and they got rid of it. So now at this festival, you just wait outside in the sun. Who needs a lobby with air conditioning? Come on. Who needs AC? Also joining us. Of course, the guy who was lucky to not be at that Katy Perry red carpet with me, Jonathan Boyko's here. Jonathan, how you doing? Was not there, but makes a lot of sense why Dennis handed all the red carpets off to me after that. Yeah, it's not a coincidence. I was very shortly after that that I gave up all red car. I didn't go to any more red carpets after that. I was like, Nope, I'm good. Thanks. Anyway, guys, most importantly, of course, you guys are here today. Thank you so much for being here and making our little show part of your day. And here's how today's show is going to go. We're going to start off by talking about a few predetermined topics we got lined up for you guys. Then in the second part of the show is when we take your live comments and questions. If you guys have a thought, theory, opinion, question, or an issue you'd like me to address, as long as I deem it appropriate to be addressed on the show, go ahead and use the super chat feature and fire it on in. Okay, guys, with that all down, let's get things kicked off here. Shall we? Let's start things off with this. You know, a question came in on the show yesterday about whether I thought toy story five or forgotten Island, which is fantastic guys, go see it. Uh, or forgotten Island was going to be the best animated film of the year. I said, well, if it's just between those two, I think forgotten Island, but I said, if we're going to be honest, even though I'm not sure. I'm going to be honest, even though I haven't seen the movie yet, I kind of think maybe that title might be going to Wildwood because I haven't seen it yet, but oh my God, it looks so good. Of course, Travis Knight, the director of Kubo and the two strings and the best live action transformers movie Bumblebee. I wasn't a big fan of his key man masters universe movie, but a lot of other people did and that's fine, but he's directing this thing that to me, again, I, I hate using this word, especially for a movie I haven't watched yet, but this masterpiece looking movie like this just looks incredible. And I thought, and I said in the show yesterday, I said, I haven't seen the film yet, but I have a feeling this might be end up being the best animated film of the year. Well, that was before I even saw the new trailer and the new trailer, which what they are calling the final trailer dropped today. And I got to tell you. I have now moved from thinking. This looks like it could be the best animated film of the year to, I think this could be one of the best films of the year period and stop. Like I'm not necessarily saying, oh, this is going to be better than odyssey, but I think just from the looks of it. And again, we've all seen great trailers to movies that ended up being poop. Okay. And that might happen here with Wildwood. A hundred percent. It could, but my own personal expectations as an individual fan have evolved just from the thought in my head. This might end up being one of the best, if not the best animated film of the year to, I have a feeling at the end of the year in December, and I'm talking about my 10 favorite films overall period. I have a feeling Wildwood might be a part of it again. This thing just expanded on the wonder of it. It got us a little bit more. It got us a little bit more with our lead character. I remember when they made the announcement the other day, guys that they made, they announced that the film was going to be PG 13 and some people were like, oh my gosh, this is going to be PG 13. I'm like, well guys, even in the original trailer, there were guns and explosions and violence, a child being kidnapped, a young kid falling to his death off a horse. I mean, yeah, it's a PG 13 film, but in this new trailer, just the whole wonder of it. The magic of it, the lead character, even the villain, which that first trailer did something to me. The first trailer made me feel real empathy immediately for what looks like is going to be the film's villain with the mom who lost her kid. Now she's trying to replace her kid. And this just looks, I don't know, Sean, this just to me looks like a special, special film. And you know, this new trailer just really cemented it for me. So anyway, you had a chance to check out this new trailer for Wildwood. What have you thought about the marketing up until this point? What do you think about the new trailer and where are your expectations right now? Yeah. I mean, the, the first trailers got me excited, just kind of showing me this big gigantic world. And I wasn't really sure what I was looking at, but that's also kind of made me curious watching this trailer. The thought that came to mind was how is this stop motion? Like, how is it possible to pull off this sort of scope scale spectacle with stop motion? And you think when you've seen as many movies as I've seen, as you've seen, you start to think like, have I seen everything that you can do? And you're always looking for something fresh and new. Like I've never seen that before. And you start watching this like, okay, it's stop motion. And then they start showing these battle sequences. And how big it is. And you're just like, I haven't seen this type of story ever portrayed like this in this medium before. This is actually something fresh and new. And like, immediately I went to the Wikipedia page and started trying to read like, this is stop motion, right? They're like, had 136 sets that they built, 231 practical puppets that they were adjusting. And you go, just something fresh. It's such a tremendous accomplishment and you get excited just because I want to see something different. Plus, it's this epic tale that just looks filled with creativity. Are you a big fan of some of those other films they reference in the trailer, like Coraline and things like that? Are you a fan of those ones? I haven't seen some of them. I haven't really gone all that far down the rabbit hole. That's one of the things I'm excited for. I actually have all the Laika films on Blu-ray and I've been waiting to watch through them in anticipation of their next release, which is this film. I only ask that because a lot of my friends love Coraline. I'm one of those people that I thought Coraline was good. I liked it, but I'm not as enamored with it, say like that or Paranorman, although I did quite like Paranorman. But I don't think of it on that level. Kubo and the Two Strings was different. Kubo and the Two Strings was something incredible, but I don't know that I've ever looked forward to one of their films more than I have with this one. All right, guys, question is for you. What did you think about the new, what they are calling the final trailer for Wildwood? Maybe it's not your cup of tea and it's not really doing it for you. That's totally fair. You know, when they first announced the movie, I Play Rocky, and the idea of it's kind of a very finite period of time of a biography in the life of Sylvester Stallone as he was trying to get the movie Rocky made so it could be a vehicle for him to star in it. I thought, well, that's stupid. That's stupid. That sounds like a really dumb idea. I don't think this is going to be good at all. And then at CinemaCon this year, they played us like a six minute thing, presentation of it. And holy crap, you want to talk about a 180. I did a 180 on this thing because I went from thinking this sounds dumb to holy crap. I cannot wait to see this. Well, at any rate, they have now debuted the film at the Toronto International Film Festival. And having done such, the reviews are now coming out. And they are exactly what I had hoped. As of this recording, and it may be different when you look, but as of this recording, I Play Rocky is holding an 86%. And let's go over right now and take a look at some of the reviews that are coming in on it. Brian Tallarico from RogerEbert.com wrote, As Stallone battles homelessness, finds love, and writes his way into a cultural phenomenon, Farley and his team land their punches in remarkably crowd-pleasing ways. Ty Burr liked it. He wrote, Ippolito recovers the human under the layers of waxy pop culture buildup and reminds you of why the country fell for the guy in the first place. IGN Movies, Eric Goldman really liked it. He wrote, I Play Rocky lets us look back at an earlier time, even if it's through the haze of nostalgia, and root for both the talented young sly himself and those around him who helped him achieve his considerable goals. Theresa LeCon liked it over at Collider. She wrote, Rocky's overwhelming success is justification enough for I Play Rocky to be made, but it's the soul and performance in the film that ultimately makes it a movie worth watching. The Hard Pass loved it. They said, I Play Rocky is the definition of a crowd-pleaser. I will watch I Play Rocky 40 or so times before I die. Hot Button liked it. They said, I had a great time watching this movie, a tribute to independent cinema. The Jam Report liked it, saying, As a piece of unapologetic popcorn entertainment, it works more often than ever. Then it probably should. Ippolito is simply too damn good to resist. Our friend Eric Douglas liked it. He wrote, Endlessly entertaining, regardless of your love or affection for the original Sly Stallone boxing movie and character. True Rocky Balboa diehards will thrill to watch this origin story told in such a super populist way. But not like all film is art. Not everybody loved it. Renny Reviews didn't like it. They said, A generic, self-important, over-serialized dreck. That coasts on your affection towards the original Rocky rather than give Stallone's origin story some real triumphant gravitas. The Playlist liked it, said, Farley is essentially shooting a goldfish in a fish tank with a nuke. I don't know exactly what it means by that, but I love that quote. And we'll just do one more here. Awards Radar liked it. They said, I Play Rocky is an incredible, satisfying crowd-pleaser that will have you cheering for the underdog. I'll just do one more because this guy's overcoming soon. And they wrote, If Rocky is the ultimate cinematic underdog story, I Play Rocky proves that the story behind it might be even more unbelievable. Rags-to-riches stories don't get much richer than this. All right. Now, look, I have to confess, guys, I am a sucker, and maybe it's a meta thing. I'm a sucker for movies about movies or movies, shows about movies. What was the name of the Godfather? The Offer. Oh, my God. Guys, if you still have not seen The Offer, you must watch The Offer. It is so good. It's about the story behind them getting The Godfather made, and it's amazing. So you have to go. I think it's on Paramount+. You should go check that out. But I've always kind of been a big fan, even like movies about trying to get a play made. One of my all-time favorite comedies, probably my number two all-time favorite comedy, Sean, is a little movie called, Noises Off, with, I almost called him Jack Tripper, John Ritter, Christopher Reeve, Michael Caine. It's just an incredible cast, and I love it. It's about this group of people trying to get a play made. And when they played us this stuff at CinemaCon, and just seeing this story, and again, I don't know how historically accurate it is. I'm sure they take some liberties. I'm going to watch a movie, not a documentary. I get that. But it's just so inspiring to see the story behind the story, right? And again, it was good enough that it completely took me from being a staunch doubter in the movie to now being one of the guys most excited to see it. And I love hearing these reviews coming out of the Toronto International Film Festival. It sounds like it's every bit as good as it kind of looks like it is. Anyway, Sean, you've seen the trailers for it. You've read all the stuff about it. What are you thinking about these reviews? Are they around what you thought? Where have your expectation levels been? And what's your overall excitement or lack thereof for the film right now? I cannot wait to see this movie. I love Stallone, Rocky. It is one of the great Hollywood stories of the guy that wrote the script that led him to be an A-lister for the last 50 years. And now they're making a movie about it. So that is just a movie designed for me. The trailers hit all the right notes for me. I didn't know what to expect from the critical reaction, though. So a couple of days ago when the tweets started to come out and they were overwhelmingly extraordinarily positive, everything I wanted to hear is what I was seeing. And there were a handful that were a little bit more mixed on it. But anecdotally speaking, it seemed like most of the people that were mixed on it were also people like 20 years younger than me with different tastes in movies than me. And so everyone that kind of has similar tastes all were saying everything I wanted. I believe Nadia Martinez, who you frequently have on the show, she saw me, girl. Yeah, she messaged me. Oh, dude, you're going to love this movie. It's like, yes, that's exactly what I want to hear. So just the specific way they're describing it, the experience, the crowd pleaser. That's what I want. So I cannot wait. And everything that I'm hearing from these reactions is only raising my excitement to dangerous levels. I mean, you know, it's interesting. Go ahead, Jonathan. I was kind of surprised, too, because the actor who played. He plays Sylvester Stallone in this. He was in the offer. Yeah, he played Al Pacino. Al Pacino. And it's a different range in voice because Al Pacino has a higher pitch, you know, that higher pitch voice, a little more nasally. And then and then you got Rocky down here, you know, it's like crazy. But, you know, what's funny about that is that when we saw him in the offer playing Al Pacino, we were like, holy crap, he looks just like Al Pacino. And then when we see when I saw him in the presentation, I'm like, oh, my God, he looks just like. Sylvester Stallone. How? How? Those are two very different. He's Clayface. Maybe it's the town thing. I don't know. But yeah, guys, I am very excited. Now, I have not seen the film yet myself. So this is all sight unseen. But I've been very excited for this ever since April. The trailers have done nothing but get me more excited. And I love hearing these reviews coming out about it. Anyway, guys, question is for you. It's one of the great cinematic experiences. You've got to watch the original Rocky. But are you looking forward to seeing this? You know, when you talk about Hunger Games, it's always a bit of a tricky thing for me because I'm not a big Hunger Games fan, right? Like, I really liked the second film. I can't remember what it was called. Like, Hunger Games, Chutes and Ladders. Catching Fire. That was it. it i thought catching fire was really quite good i did like it i thought the first one was okay i thought catching fire was great and then i thought it kind of dove after that then they put out that one last year or two years ago uh hunger games always hungry always forever yeah whatever it was called and i thought that one was interesting it was it was an interesting movie i didn't mind watching it i certainly didn't walk out hating it but you know not all that great so i i'm not what you would call a hunger games core fan per se so then obviously then you'd understand when they announced that they've got hunger games uh sunrise on the reaping is that what it's called yes anyway they got another one coming out but this time it's looking at it from young hamish woody harrelson's character and his exploits to the hunger games i'm like okay so hunger games is basically now a zombie movie franchise right all zombie movies essentially are the same there are some that are much better than others like train to busan and shauna the dead but generally speaking the formula the recipe is all basically the same hunger games movies are all basically the same right it's like oh look there's the the rich district they're sending the kids into the killing machine of the hunger games and we're gonna watch a lot of them die okay great but that being said the first trailer came out for it a while ago and i thought you know what i may not be a big hunger games fan but this actually looks pretty good like it take the hunger game ism out of it and i just think in gotta say as somebody who is not a defined hunger games fan like i said i like some of it but i'm not really a hunger games fan i gotta say listen just being honest judging it on its own merits and taking it for what it is i think this looks like a pretty good movie um i think the drama they build in it is really good and here's the key thing guys i remember after i watched the first time i said to myself okay go back and watch it again this time pretend i've never seen a hunger games film and just try to watch it through the eyes of maybe somebody who's never seen a film and i watched the trailer and i thought you know what i wouldn't be lost at all if i had never seen a hunger games film this trailer so clearly laid out the underpinning of what the story is that i would not have felt lost or confused and to me that's one of the hallmarks of a really good trailer and i thought the performances look great i mean the cast the cast is bar none like you have one of the guys no the guy i consider to be the single greatest actor in the world who doesn't have an oscar in ray fines who's playing snow now so he's like the best choice you could possibly get the supporting cast looks terrific the story seems good listen this is actually the first time in my life i might be actually be able to say i'm actually excited to see a hunger games film i mean look i i don't know if this is going to be great or not and it's not certainly not in the top 10 of my most anticipated but if i'm just being honest i think it actually looks pretty damn good anyway sean i don't know what your background is with hunger games or your feelings on it as a franchise as a whole but briefly what is your kind of position on hunger games and what do you think about the new trailers for this sunrise on the reaping yeah i'm not a jumbo fan or anything like that probably enjoy the franchise a bit more than you do a little bit more goodwill there but not dramatically more um like you catching fire was my favorite of the original films and like you with the one that came out a few years ago there's a bunch of things in it that were really interesting and then it was also like this is like two movies smashed into one kind of weird structure very peculiar it kind of killed what i liked about part of it but yeah i i one one of the things i really enjoy about the franchise is that while there is a formula to it there are things that are repeated each movie the window dressing the setting the look of it is always very different in particular when you're going through different decades they actually feel like you're in a movie and you're like oh my god i'm gonna be in a movie and i'm gonna be in a movie and you're like oh my god i'm gonna be in a movie and i'm gonna be in a movie and i'm gonna be in a movie and a different point in time in pan am this world and the nature of the events and so the spectacle the action feels different from the other movies and they also always find a different perspective in the way you look at the characters and the thematic work in it so there are repeated elements but they also bring something fresh so it always has something at least new in it and so while we are pretty deep into this franchise and we have seen the hunger games many times before i'm still like what are we going to do this time i'm still like what are we going to do this time what are we going to learn about snow how did he change from the last movie how i'm i'm curious about all of it so it looks really good to me and as you pointed out the cast is just incredible like that you're getting top-notch prestige actors in here but then you also have just a long list of up-and-comers and you got jess plemons in there like everywhere you look there's someone that's exciting to see you know one of my problems though is with this whole thing it's it's got a same problem to me that star wars has right now where everything has to be backwards right like so they did the last one had to be a prequel they're doing this one has to be a prequel and it's like i i gotta be honest with you if they had come out and announced that we're doing another hunger games movie and it takes place 10 years after the events of where we left off with katniss i would have been more interested in that because the story's going forward but as good as i think this movie looks and by the way just get it out of the way i think this movie looks good and i am looking forward to watching it that said i mean we don't have to wonder if hamish takes out president snow in the end we don't have to wonder if hamish gets defeated by the arena we don't have to wonder if by the end of this movie hamish rises up the people and they realize oh my gosh the people in the main district realize oh this hunger games thing we're doing is barbaric we need to stop it we know all of that like there's not a lot of mystery involved in it and i kind of wish hunger games if they wanted to do more that they would just move forward with the story as opposed to keep going back because like what's next like is the next hunger game movies i can't remember what's the name of elizabeth bank's character effy or something like that or flippy or whatever her name Like I, what are they going to do? We're going to get her young, like her from her past. Her perspective is one of the privileged in district one and all that kind of stuff. I mean, so there's that, but, but being fair, I think this does look good. And, uh, and I'm kind of looking forward to seeing it surprisingly. What do you think about this? Like maybe you're like me and you're not really a big hunger games person, but I kind of thought it looked pretty good. Maybe you are a big hunger games fan. Well, again, going back to cinema con April, one of the presentations they showed us that got a lot of people excited was Zach Krieger's newest film coming off of barbarians and weapons. His take on resident evil and it looked great. Now look, I'm not even a resident. Evil fan. I know a lot of people get upset when they hear me say that, but I'm just being honest. I'm not really. And this looked quite good. And I admit that probably half the reason I had any interest in it at all was simply because of who was directing it. Like with Zach Krieger directing it, the guy who just did weapons, that's going to get my attention. Well, the reviews are now out for resident evil and Holy crap. Are they ever good right now? On rotten tomatoes with 80 reviews in resident evil is holding a 96% a 96%. So let's take a couple of minutes here and go over and hear what some of the reviewers are saying about resident evil, uh, discussing films saying Zach Krieger changes the game for modern video game adaptations by capturing the monstrous spirit of resident evil in a darkly hilarious original story. He pulls no punches here. Zach Pope reviews loved it. They said a near perfect resident evil experience. Zach Krieger didn't just craft a great resident evil movie. He made an awesome video game adaptation that I can already see myself rewatching for years. Brutal, funny, gory, completely WTF inducing. The independent liked it. They said it feels thoroughly like a film by Zach Krieger, proving that subtle psychological work. Isn't always the superior horror when you have a film. The filmmaker who can deliver a jump scare shock with this much elegant with as much elegant panache. The San Francisco Chronicle liked it, gave it a perfect score for them, said it's a highly disciplined narrative visualized with visualized with exquisite care. All the more impressive considering the main business here is ever escalating chaos. The times liked it. They wrote at its core. It is a sweet and hyper kinetic children's cartoon that is wrapped up in a frantic, violent and grotesque. Gory zombie flick. How could you resist little white lies? Liked it. They said it's a massively impressive and effective film, but maybe one that appears so much better because the bar for this type of work is so low. Wait here. Will I go and watch it again? Just to check. Clyder liked it. They said clocking it at 90 minutes. I love that runtime. Krieger's resident evil puts a lean mean spin on an iconic horror franchise. That's only poised to keep getting bigger coming soon. Liked it. They said the result is a surprisingly effective horror thriller that understands that sometimes the simplest idea can be the most terrifying. Superb cinematography, a dynamite first act, legitimate scares, and a star making performance from Austin Abrams makes this reboot a must see. By the way, is Paul Walter Hauser also in this movie? I think he is. Anyway, and then Alonzo writes like Hannah Edinburgh in Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. I'm sure I mispronounced that hired to breathe life into a zombie IP. Krieger brings his trademark horror comedy combo to the goings on at the Umbrella Corporation. And guys, it just goes on and on people and critics who are not, you know, fans of the IP loving it. People who are fans of the IP. It just seems to be one that's a winner across the board. And one of my friends who saw it said, John, John, John, I know you're a big fan of balance. Like have the heavy with the light, have the horror with the fun. They said, this is one of the best balanced films I've seen because for every unbelievable gag reflex inducing gross gore thing, there's something that's going to happen 30 seconds later. That's going to make you laugh your ass off. And like, to me, that is music to my ears. And it sounds like a lot of the reviews we're hearing coming out of it right now kind of reflect that. Yeah, it's kind of got that sort of balance. And that's the thing too. When you look back at his other films, like whether it's barbarians and it just, it seems to strike that balance, right? He has a way of making an atmosphere feel heavy and heavy and heavy. And then all of a sudden break up the heaviness with something else. Something surprising, something funny, something, whatever. And he just keeps the audience coming along. And I wondered, I'm going to be honest. I wondered to myself if that's something you can do with a property like resident evil and doing it well. But according to everything I'm hearing guys, he's done it. So Sean, you know, what has been your experience with the IP? Like I've, again, I admit I'm not a big fan of the resident evil IP. I haven't been a big fan of the movies per se. This is obviously a different thing with a much different director involved now. What's your expectation level been like and what's standing out to you in the reviews we're hearing? So I've dabbled in the video games over the decades here and there. I played the remakes about five years ago, but primarily my experience with the franchise is the first two movies from 25 years ago. I used to watch those all the time on DVD. But even those. Those are just more guilty pleasure movies than movies. I'm like, man, these are awesome. So it's been a very spotty cinematic franchise to say the least. But Zach Krieger's last two movies were awesome. Like I loved Barbarian and Weapons and both of them were so refreshing in unpredictable movies that I just did not know where they were going. So when it was announced that a director that has such a fresh take in an unpredictable style. Is tackling a franchise with that doesn't have the best track record. I was ecstatic. This was one of my most anticipated movies of the year for his name, not for the Resident Evil name. But it made me excited for the Resident Evil franchise that finally they're getting a director with a great track record. But the question was then how are people going to respond to it? That are the purest like Resident Evil fans have been worried they're going to mess this up again. Yeah. And you look at that. That score and you go, he pulled it off. Like I get why you're nervous, but look at that score. This is a great movie. So I'm seeing it Thursday night. I just, I cannot wait to check out this movie and every single, if you look at those reviews, it's not just that they were positive. They were very positive. Yeah. Only one of them was a 3.5 out of five. There's four out of fours, four out of fives, like really good positive scores. So man, I can't wait. Yeah, because that's the thing about like Rotten Tomatoes ratings. Which I, I do really like their rating system, like just telling you, Hey, out of all the critics out there, what percentage of them liked it? I really do like that, but you can get a movie that everybody thought was like, yeah, that was pretty good. And it ends up having an 89, right? But this isn't just, yeah, this is pretty good. Like to your point, Sean, these reviews are like, oh no, my God, we love this movie. Like this movie is so good. Now I want to ask Jonathan this because Jonathan, I know you play. You probably don't. You probably play more video games than I have something. Have you ever gotten into the Resident Evil games at all? Is this only early on? It really wasn't quite my thing at the time when Resident Evil first came out. Because although I like first person shooters and whatever, I was never really into the horror theme for video games wise. And then, you know, in the first movie, like Sean was saying, back in 2002, Resident Evil came out. I saw that. And I mean, you look back and it's very odd feeling. You know what I mean? Like, I'm just looking. I'm perplexed by this franchise. I'm looking through the box box office mojo and Rotten Tomatoes for Resident Evil 2002 all the way through the litany of like six or seven of the like good for a meal for getting the, you know, all this work. Like, I'm cool with that. But like these movies were pretty much at best in the 60 percentile for audiences and basically panned by critics. And yet they would make like 150 and they'd still make another one and another one. I mean, I guess Afterlife ended up making like 300 or maybe that was retribution. But then it dipped back down again. I just don't know how these movies kept getting made. Like, how did they get to a point where they're like, we're going to make Afterlife in 2010 and it's actually going to make 300 mil, even though the other movies were like making 120. It's a very perplexing franchise, but I'm very glad to hear that that Zack Craig has knocked this thing out. And you know, another thing I don't really get is. the fans, which I don't know know how many there are because it's thing universally panned but everyone is talking online of course like oh he's he's taking this away from the the main storyline well this must be a good move because it's getting like it's it's getting lauded upon like so so positively yeah people get mad at me when i say it but it's true the number one responsibility to me of a storyteller is to tell the best story possible not to be as faithful as possible to the source material uh if you can do both at the same time great but like wasn't there also uh like a lasted one season wasn't there like a raccoon city or welcome to raccoon city yeah and uh stephen amell's cousin robbie amell wasn't he in that robbie amell yeah that got panned oh that got it was actually a movie and i thought it was a series and there so robbie amell was in the last movie but there also was that's what it was both of those things exist yeah yes and they both failed so like equal failure for everybody all right guys question is for you what do you think about this the reviews for resident evil are nothing short of spectacular uh this it was going to be all different kinds of movies doing all kinds of different things so it was really interesting when he announced that they were going to be doing a clay face film because you know well what's that going to be like and then he said it was going to be like a body horror kind of film it's like okay that's interesting then we found out mike flanagan was writing the script to it and like okay that's really interesting and then the first trailers came out and sure enough it looked completely different than what we had come to expect from a dc universe film which is by the way in the dc universe something i never thought they would actually do and yet they did it now we all knew that this movie was going to be an r-rated film but it had not become official now it's official and why it's gotten the r-rating is even more interesting as this comes to us from imdb that's writing clay face officially rated r for strong bloody violence gore and nudity as if there were any doubt left clay face is officially going to be a full-blown r-rated body horror movie the mpa handed the upcoming dc studio film an r-rating for as we quoted strong bloody violence gore language nudity and brief drug use uh that is one hell of a rating descriptor for a movie based on a batman villain and by the way uh they have also now confirmed that this clay face is the same clay face that we came across in creature commandos the animated series because you know james gunn said it's all the shared universe and then we had that clay face so well that can't possibly be the clay face that's going to be in the new oh yeah it is so that's really interesting too they also dropped a new teaser guys but it just kind of looked like recycled and reorganized footage that we've already seen i am expecting a new trailer to drop in the next week or so for it which is going to be really interesting look i i am fascinated by this movie for a couple of different reasons one is the screenwriter the other is the screenwriter the other is the screenwriter but the other big thing is how this is going to be our first real look at how can james gunn and peter saffron make the dc universe feel that diverse now they've already kind of done step one with lanterns lanterns feels quite different from superman or supergirl and yet we understand it all takes place in the same world and by the way lanterns has been so enjoyable i've loved that show so far but this is another level like this is a totally different step and to go from you know maybe kindness is the new punk rock to was gonna get an r rating like that was for sure but not all r's are created equal odyssey is rated r not a lot of bum stuff going on in the odyssey but i mean clayface bloody gore bloody violence like all that kind of stuff are you surprised to hear the descriptor uh and where's your anticipation level like right now for clayface going into this you know there's a point in time where i'm like oh my god i'm gonna get an r rating where i might have been surprised by that descriptor but when uh you know season two of peacemaker starts off with an orgy you just kind of go james guns dcu is wild it can go anywhere so it's like am i surprised by this description no because man he's committed to the we're we're going r and he committed to it from the beginning so um i've got a couple different feelings on all this as a grown man that loves comic book movies that loves horror movies that loves horror movies that loves mike flanagan's work this just sounds incredible like just sounds like yes we're actually doing it we're not havesy doing it it the way that you know the sony spider-man list spider-man villain movies they all have c did it and so then they all were just just terrible um this is like we're committing no no we're doing a villain movie and it's going to be nasty and mean and hard are that's what i want it to be i want to see a horror movie in the dc universe i do have this other feeling that's kind of two different thoughts to it but of if you're trying to launch your franchise and you're trying to go as broad as possible to build an audience is going niche and hard are the right direction similar feelings to that of like as a dad that has kids that want i want them to get into dc the way that i'm into dc and we're doing orgies in peacemaker uh we do a green lantern show but it's like strictly for adults and the language you're like okay this is pretty r and then this is like bloody violence for drugs and nudity and like okay not that everything needs to be for everybody not everything needs to do the marvel model but the ratio of supermans to bloody violence and nudity feels a little bit more towards the adult than i think might be wise but also as a grown-up i'm like i can't wait for it too so i'm torn between you know me and being a dad it's the same kind of conundrum that we talked about when it became understood that deadpool right was going to be coming into the mcu the question was well wait a minute the mcu has spelt spent decades creating this thing that this is a family friendly i mean it's got some heavy stuff it's got some hard stuff in it but it is generally family friendly and now we're gonna have a character in here who has a very creative way of celebrating uh women's day uh with deadpool like how how are you going to and you know like i i heard some complaints from some parents who brought their kids to see deadpool wolverine as like well they were pretty explicit about how this was an r-rated film but still you know hey it's it's it's being put out by disney and marvel and so it's it's that's interesting and so i've often wondered can a comic book cinematic universe actually do it and and i'll be honest with you i think the jury's still out i i really am i i think the jury's still out like you know blade was apparently going to end up being rated r how would that have worked out for marvel don't know how is this going to work out for dc not sure if are we going to have clayface show up again in a batman film if then is it going to be i mean they're not going to make batman rated r because you're going to want to have the kids come to that so it's going to be really interesting to see how they play it out but i'm with you sean to me everything about this clayface thing sounds so cool and to see something like this in a populist comic book cinematic there's a lot of possibilities here so we'll see how it all kind of turns out anyway guys question is for you what do you think about this we've known that clayface was going to be rated r but a lot of things can be rated r and not be all that bad this is like bloody violence gore nudity like whatever it is you can throw at it that's what this movie is going to be uh does that deter you at all does that turn you off at all does it excite you more whatever you guys think jump down to the comment section not long ago like i'm okay with a jurassic park 20th anniversary re-release or a star wars 30th anniversary re-release i'm kind of fine with that but like when marvel started shipping into hey infinity war was just in theaters two months ago we're gonna put it out again we're gonna give 15 extra seconds come give us more money i'm not really a big fan for that but for avengers endgame encore i've been okay with it and actually looking forward to it for a couple reasons one it's been like eight years since we've had endgame in theaters it's hard to believe that but it's been a long time since we've had the film in theaters or seven years whatever also i love the idea of being able to go back into the theaters and experience that whole experience again to have that experience again of being there when cap touches his ear and you hear on your left and the portal's open and being there with that audience and of course it's all leading into doomsday and having a little bit of a refresher going into doomsday is great so i'm like oh okay yeah let's let's do that and you know the they've been saying as a part of the idea of enticing the audience to come back to experience endgame again in encore it's like hey guys we're gonna be giving you they have they have said to us special sneak look at the upcoming avengers doomsday oh and we're gonna be including some extra footage in it not a ton but we're gonna be including some extra footage into it that creates more connective tissue between the events of endgame and the events of doomsday and you know what all that together creates an experience that we think you guys should spend your money on and give us more of your money and come see it again and then guys two dudes that i adore and i'm very biased towards joe and anthony russo came out and said something i thought was pretty dumb but they came out and said it's essential viewing remember that joe and anthony that was okay came out and said that if you're gonna go watch doomsday watch an avengers encore avengers endgame encore is essential viewing they said which is not true number one but secondly sounds pretty manipulative to try to lie and con people into buying tickets to go see encore be that they also said they also said there was big news big doomsday news coming today and it turned out to be a pop-up for a coffee shop but yeah i remember that yes i was like that's what everybody was waiting for it's like boom anyway so okay endgame's coming we're gonna get all that kind of stuff in a few years i'm down i'm down but then even though really they haven't been keeping it a secret it's really come to the forefront now and maybe we're all wrong but basically speaking endgame encore there's going to be two different versions of endgame encore like not just endgame encore with new footage including a sneak peek at doomsday coming out to the theater to see it but now there's two different versions of it and depending on how much money you're willing to give marvel you're going to get more doomsday looks than if you want of a steve martin once put it one of the po people and have to go see one of the cheaper versions of it then you don't get the full essential experience well what am i talking about the british film commission released the runtime of avengers endgame encore but unlike every other movie there was two different runtimes for two different versions of the film and i put this together here to give us a basically a better look so here's basically the gist of it the original avengers endgame is three hours and one minute long okay 181 minutes now if you go to see avengers endgame encore in a regular movie theater a regular 2d movie theater that on a saturday night on average will cost you in america somewhere between 12 and 16 dollars that version is going to be three hours and three minutes and three seconds you are getting two minutes and three to five seconds of extra footage including something that's going to be a little sneak peek at avengers doomsday right okay all so far all so good you said you're putting out avengers endgame encore and if we buy a ticket to come and watch it we're going to get a few minutes of extra stuff yay but here's where they'll get you they're not going to give everybody that same experience if you are somebody who can afford and wants to pay an average ticket of 18 to 24 dollars for one of the premium screens we're talking infinity vision 4dx amc xl a amc dolby prime any screen x you name it any one of the premium formats which the average ticket in america is going to be three hours and three minutes for one of those is up to 12 dollars more expensive for those of you who pay more money you're going to get a version of avengers endgame encore that is three hours and six minutes and 14 seconds you're going to get for that extra 12 dollars well and to be fair anywhere between like four to twelve more dollars you're going to get three minutes and a half of that extra money and 11 seconds more. you lucky little boy. And this pisses me off. This pisses me off. To me, this is Marvel insulting their fans. This is being disrespectful to their fans. And by the way, I'm telling you this right now, not everybody watches or makes shows like this one. There's going to be a lot of movie fans out there who are just going to buy a ticket to a regular movie theater thinking, hey, we've been told that we're going to get some extra stuff. Let's just go. And they're going to pay 12 bucks for their movie ticket. And they're going to go to see Avengers Endgame Encore and find out they didn't actually get the full Avengers Encore experience. No, no, no, says Marvel. You got to pay the ticket that's going to cost you between 18 and $24. Not the one that's going to get you, you cheapo bastards. They're just $12 and 16, 12 to $16. Go sit in the corner. How dare you come and sully us with your filth? And listen, guys, I get it. I get it. If there's a movie, because we've all seen a movies coming out and hey, if you go see it in IMAX, you get this four minute look at this other movie coming out. I get that. That's fine. But that's not the movie itself. That's not the experience I'm paying to go see. I want to spend a couple extra bucks to see something that involves a different movie being previewed or whatever. That's on me. That's my choice. But you are telling your audience, you are re-releasing this film that is essential. This is essential viewing guys. And yet you are creating a class system where if you only can afford to pay 12 to $16 for movie ticket, you get the lesser version of the movie. But if you pay more money, you get the real full extra three minutes. Guys, I understand that. Hey, if I'm going to go to a dual laser, super plush leather, reclining seats, high end movie theater experience, I might pay a few more bucks. I understand that. But if I go to that theater or I go to the 25 year old kind of broken down, but has a lot of charm theater with some, maybe a few rips, the screen, I know I'm getting the same movie. I know I'm getting the same experience. Like maybe my theatrical experience is different, but I know I'm getting the same movie for Marvel to do this. It's not the end of the world guys. I'm not, I don't want to make it sound like I'm saying this is the end of the world. It's not, but for Marvel to do this to me is blatantly disrespectful to the fans. It is blatantly disrespectful to the fans. And I don't want to be a pessimist, but there is a part of me that actually believes that Marvel is counting, counting on people, not realizing there are two different versions and that they spend their money on the regular theater and they get told, no, you got to buy another ticket to go and pay 22 bucks to go watch it at Regal super dope high five theater extreme plus to get that extra three minutes. And I don't want to be a pessimist, but there is a part of me that actually believes that Marvel is counting on people, not realizing there are two different versions and that extra three minutes. I think they're counting on that. If you get your audience to come to see your movie, they should get the same movie, whether it's in the less expensive theater or the more expensive theater. And to me, the fact that they're creating a class system here that, you know, the, the, the cheap people only get to see two extra minutes. The real fans get to who pay us extra money, get to see three extra minutes. And by the way, guys, it is not 12 extra minutes. We're talking about here. You're going to be paying that extra 10 bucks for three extra minutes, which by the way, is going to be on YouTube within 24 hours of this movie coming out by the way. And now I hope it is. I hope it is. And I'll tell you what, does this, does this turn me into somebody who's no longer a Marvel fan? Of course not. Of course not. I'll tell you what. I returned my, uh, Avengers end game encore tickets. I returned them. If Marvel is going to disrespect the fans that way, if they are going to be disrespectful to us, then I'm not going to respect them on this. This, this is a horrible, horrible decision on their part. I don't know if this was, it's probably not a Kevin Feige decision. This is probably above his pay grade. This is probably a larger scale thing, but yeah, I returned my encore tickets. I'm not going to go and reward them for treating the fans as badly. I think this is bullshit. Um, and again, don't want to oversell it. It's not turned me against Marvel. It's not like I'm not going to plan on going to see doomsday now, but I'll tell you what, if they suddenly tell us, oh yeah, you get a two hour and 30 minute version. If you go to the cheap theater, but a two hour and 45 minute version, if you go to the expensive theater, then you're damn right. I'm not going to go see it, but they won't do that. Of course. But yeah, anyway, I've ranted on this for a bit here, Sean, maybe a little bit over the top, but, uh, you know, it just doesn't sit right with me that if you're not going to give us enough money, we're not going to give you the full Avengers end game encore experience. You're only going to get part of it. And if you give us more money, then we'll give you the essentials that does not sit right with me. I think this is Bush league. And quite frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves. I think this is beneath them. Um, and it is, I think just a blatant money grab anyway. Uh, that's my overreaction to this whole situation. Sean, you saw this information. What's your takeaway from it? I've been defending them doing a re-release for months, a bunch of people like, Oh, it's just a cash grab. They're just trying to get more money to pass avatars. Like maybe they're doing that, but like from my perspective, I'm going to rewatch end game anyway. I'd rather watch it in the theater with the full crowd and have that experience again. So I've wanted to see it in the theater. So I was excited for that. And the fact that they were going to add footage to me was just like a nice bonus. I didn't need them to add five minutes, two minutes. That's just a nice bonus. So I didn't have any problems that it was a limited amount of added footage. But as soon as I realized there were two different versions and that people are going to pay money to only see two minutes versus five minutes, that to me struck me as so gross. And it's the kind of decision that feels like it's really going to backfire because you're going to have millions of people thinking they're getting one thing and getting something else and feeling overtly cheated because they were. I only bought my tickets this morning for it because I was trying to make sure I went to the right one that had all the right footage and everything. And I easily, as someone that's in this space that tracks this stuff, could have purchased just a few days ago tickets to the wrong showing because it's not immediately obvious that you have to buy tickets to a specific showing if you want the full experience. And that's just such a bad decision on so many different levels outside of being gross, just on an information level. You're setting yourselves up and your fans up for failure. Why would you do this other than blatant greed? Yeah. And again, I am in the position that you're in. I was fine with the idea of the re-release. I really am. I am fine with the idea of re-release. I haven't seen the movie in theater in seven years. Nice little thing to go into Endgame, thrown a little extra push for it. But this whole thing of creating a class system that if you pay for the cheap ticket, you don't get the full experience, only if you buy the expensive ticket. And it's like, okay, that might be fine for when you're buying your new MacBook. That's fine. But if we're going to the movies, that's supposed to be the great equality thing. We all go to the same movie. We're all going to the same thing. And to me, again, I love the word you use, Sean. Gross. It's just gross. And it's really putting a sour. Again, I don't want to overhype it. This is not the end of the world. Disney is not burning to the ground. But to me, this is a black eye on them. I think this is a terrible, terrible look. And there is still time for them to fix this. I hope they do. I really do. And by the way, somebody asked me in the live chat to bring it. Go ahead. I mean, yeah, again, to me, two different movie experiences, depending on how much money you give them. I just think that's gross. don't mind so much if they're trying to rip me off it just pisses me off that they're ripping off their fans that they're telling their fans you're only worth dollars to us and that to me is get over one line one bad cheesy line we can get over but that the second part of what you're suggesting kian changes and shifts the entire direction of the movie him for one second saying i hate you 3000 we could get over but that one the second one that changes the whole movie so i'm going to say that one would probably be worse all right thanos writes of these movies keep three lose the rest all right batman begins iron man one thor one uh the first avenger man of steel doctor strange one and or wonder woman one okay so two i can take off that list easy i like them very much but not as much as the other ones i take out doctor strange one and take out wonder woman one and i'll take out batman begins i like batman begins very much but i think the dark knight's the better movie um yeah season finale of alien earth um that being said i wasn't a big fan of the finale overall i really like the series i like it i like it more than most people i think because i know there are some people been really lucky the last ton of years i've always lived really close to an amc theater like obviously when ann and i lived in burbank we literally lived a 10 minute walk from the most popular movie theater the busiest movie theater in america which is the amc burbank 16 which is of course also where our amc offices were but it was just a walk up the street and then when we moved out here to riverside we are just a few minutes drive from amc burbank 16 which is a few minutes drive from the amc burbank 16 riverside tyler gallery is 16 which is a really nice theater so yeah i've been really lucky that we live pretty close to amc theaters so that which is great because i love using a list of course all right thanks for that kevin next up amin writes one of two my review from tiff the debut is one of the best and funniest films of the year a near perfect script and seller directing by jesse eisenberg paul giamatti who is like low-key one of the best actors in the world paul giamatti proves yet again to be one of the all-time greats and julianne moore gives a performance of a lifetime she's coming for oscar number two i don't know i can't remember if they've already put the trailers out for the debut i can't remember but i know they gave us a preview for it at cinema con and it looked phenomenal and it looked very much in the vein of giamatti's last big movie the the leftovers which was amazing and i think it got nominated for best picture and it got giamatti uh another oscar nomination as well but i remember the previews for the debut looked fantastic and i can't wait to see it and i'm glad i didn't know they were playing it at tiff i'm glad you had a chance to watch it man thank you for giving us your update on it all right tad boy writes can you believe it's been a year since the whole paramount wb merger talk started i cannot you should do a timeline video of the whole thing maybe we will now they might finally be getting close to settling it because megaforce um life is like a wheel it all comes around words or sorry deeds not words megaforce is a movie that was way ahead of its time and i think if you could do a i mean it's like a higher concept version of gi joe if you could do one where this international any uh like any terrorist strike force team was created that uses the highest of high technology i think that could be a lot of fun i think that would be a world of fun now who could direct it any director that's really good who could star in it any actors that are really good but i if you handed 150 million bucks to do a remake of something i'm remaking megaforce totally remaking megaforce if you don't know what megaforce is go look it up uh it's i i love megaforce it's so deliciously cheesy anyway gk beetle writes movie news Um, I mean, if it just comes to pure film criticism, like just pure straight up film reviews, I obviously I love, I think Jeremy Johns and, uh, Chris Stockman are probably, they're two polar opposite guys, but I think they're probably two of the best that's ever done it. Chris doesn't do as many anymore, obviously, but I think they're two of the best online that's ever done it. Oh yeah. So there's just a bunch of them. But again, I'm not saying any of those are my favorite. I'm not saying any of those are my number one. I'm just saying there's a lot of good stuff out there. Um, and then there's a lot of stuff out there. That is just, that is just hate, rage, bait, culture, war sites that pretend to be movie sites. And you, they're pretty easy to sniff out, but there's a lot of really good stuff out there. And I encourage you guys to check it out. All right. Next up, uh, Richard views also rights. Um, well, I did see the film buddy. I had a real, I had real mixed feelings about it. I think the first 20, 25 minutes are genius. The rest of it as individual moments of brilliance that are surrounded by wasteland. Yeah. I've, I've, I know Jonathan Voico saw it and he and I were talking and he said, you know, I liked, I liked it. I liked it, but it's not what I thought it was going to be. And I've heard that from a few people. I've never asked them to expand on that. Cause I, I still want to watch it and I don't want to know exactly, but what I've been told is that it's a movie that is either going to hit you the right way or it's not. Now I'm not totally a hundred percent sure about what that means. I, I've talked to a few people that it really did hit them the right way and they quite enjoyed it. So I'm looking forward still to seeing it myself. They said, because you didn't have a show last week. So I was scrambling around looking for other movie shows, but there are just none like ours. And I got a lot of very kind messages from people last week, but that, that was one that really struck me a lot. And that meant that one made me feel really good. I'm not gonna lie. That one gave me the fuzzy. So thank you so much for that, dude. I appreciate it very much. All right, next up, Ryland Holman writes curious about when the rescheduled movie meetups will be no idea looking forward to it and hoping it won't be out of town for my cities. Thanks again, John. If I can't get them scheduled, it's tricky because you gotta remember guys, this is tricky for me because doing these movie meetup tours means I'm away from home for two, three, four weeks at a time. Um, if I can't get them scheduled before December, they, they probably won't happen until like March because what I don't want to do is I don't want to be driving my van across, you know, the continent and trying to do it through snow storms or it's like rain is fine. Snow storms. I don't want to do that. So if I can get it scheduled prior to December, like maybe late October, early to mid November, uh, is what I'm trying to do. If I can get the schedule, the workout. Um, but if I can't get it done by then, it's probably going to have to wait till probably March. Um, when we're sure that the winter is behind us. uh everything movies writes finally saw by any means yesterday and i'm so glad i saw it to me it's the most uh topical and important film film release currently going to see the wait early access this evening uh i again i thought by any means that's got yay abdul-matin and and mark uh mark walberg uh funky bunch boy i thought honestly it looked like a throwaway movie i really did but i decided to run out to go see it because i heard some interesting things about it so i listen i look it's not going to end up being one of my top 10 favorite movies of the year by any means but i enjoyed it i i thought it was an entertaining film you know it's not really it's not it's definitely heavy thematically but they don't go into the drama that it's going to be like a best picture contender but it's uh it was a surprisingly entertaining film i i got a lot out of it i enjoyed it yeah again not gonna be one of my top 10 favorites but i enjoyed it too man all right next up raul writes hey what's your dream team up in secret wars don't care i i really team ups is not for if you know the story of secret wars that's not what really it is it's not about a team up but anytime we get to see a big marvel movie and see some of our favorite marvel characters interact is always a good time raul all right dom not tom cruise writes what movie cliche annoys you the most well you guys who have watched me for a long period of time you know what i'm going to say right you know what i'm going to say i i know there's like a 10 second delay but i'm going to see if anybody in the live chat knows what i'm going to say that is the the movie cliche that totally annoys me the most uh no nobody or maybe the uh the comments are just stuck but um all right here's what it is this is the thing that annoys me the most this is the trope this is the cliche the cliche there it is somebody's got it let me get it here g style meet me at death peak this is the most annoying and you know what i love that new show um uh paradise on hulu awesome show love it but they boy did they pull it so bad so here's what death meet me at death peak is we've seen it in a thousand movies in a thousand show and it never makes any sense the hero's trying to find the murderer and he gets a call from a professor he knows and the professor says to him on the phone i've just unraveled it all i've found the key to breaking this whole case wide open to which the hero says really by all means professor tell me what is this information that breaks the whole case wide open to which inevitably of course the professor says not on the phone which is why not on the phone why i've there's never been any reason in any movie or tv show why it couldn't be done on the phone but he says not on the phone meet me at death peak at midnight and as soon as he says that you and i as the audience know oh well that professor's dead like clearly that professor is not going to survive to meet the hero at death's peak never going to happen and sure enough he dies and again one of my favorite shows on tv right now paradise just did it where the hero is like oh i gotta i have to confess to you something tell you what meet me at midnight in the park and i'll tell you everything that's going on why don't you just tell me now no no not on the phone meet me in person and as soon as that happened i'm like well that guy's dead he's got that has been done a billion times hollywood keeps doing it and i hate it every time and not once has it ever made sense not once in the history of that trope has it ever made sense anyway all right next up dapper alligator writes uh not a fan of mcu adding dlc to a theater release and again i don't mind it in general if you're re-releasing a seven or eight year old movie to ramp us up for the new movie and you're throwing some extra content for us to see that's fine but don't start giving different content to different fans determined by how much money they give you that is garbage that is absolute garbage anyway brandon c writes isn't what they're doing with endgame the same thing they did only showing the odyssey and dune extended previews for specific imax audiences no i already i addressed that earlier brandon i talked about that at the beginning of the topic that's not the movie that's an advertisement for some other movie that's not even connected like like i said if you want to do a movie uh called uh one of our you know people who have sponsored our show mando mando the movie okay not mandalorian and grogu but rather mando the movie um and you say hey you know in the imax screenings we're going to be before the movie starts we're going to show a trailer for this other imax film that's coming out in three or four months that's fine that's not the movie that doesn't change my experience with the mando movie i'm buying a ticket to see the mando movie if one one if one movie theater wants to show different trailers than another movie i don't really care those are advertisements for other movies coming out at different times it has nothing to do with this but when you get your directors to tell the world oh this avengers endgame encore is essential oh it's essential it's mandatory you have to what you have to see it guys or you're just not going to fully understand what's going on in doomsday it's it's mandatory it's essential if you're going to do that then show the movie show the experience give the experience that you're telling people they need to see whether they buy a less expensive ticket at one movie theater or a more expensive ticket in another movie theater the fact that you're going to give them different experiences that is only differentiated by how much money they give you is garbage so no that is not the same thing as oh we're going to show you a completely unrelated trailer before the movie starts for something that's completely different that's coming down in six or eight months from now but it's just going to happen to be playing in an imax theater that is not the same thing man that is not the same thing even remotely which is why i started off the conversation by talking about that um oh
