48m 50s
In this heartfelt episode of "Inner Childish," the hosts dive into personal, emotionally rich conversations about friendship, identity, and self-empowerment. They share stories of emotional growth, from the joy of a rekindled bond over a gender reveal to the grief of missing a spouse during travel. A powerful moment occurs when one guest is deeply moved by a documentary on Noah Cajon, which inspires her to advocate for others overcoming binge eating. The discussion expands to explore complex relationship dynamics—such as the struggle of being single versus married, the emotional toll of frequent absences, and the difficulty of self-advocacy in fitness or intimate partnerships. They also address real-life dilemmas: a bridesmaid’s anxiety about changing her hair, a maid of honor’s failure to plan a Bachelorette trip, and a brand’s misuse of a user’s personal pregnancy experience, which raises ethical concerns about consent and representation. Throughout, the conversation emphasizes emotional authenticity, personal boundaries, and the importance of self-care and mutual support in both friendships and family. The hosts celebrate the value of vulnerability, humor, and shared memory, reinforcing the podcast’s mission of encouraging emotional honesty and growth.
(upbeat music) Lemonado. (upbeat music) - Welcome to "Inner Childish." Side effects include laughing too hard and unexpected emotional growth. - Wait, is this just like we're just doing it? We're just doing the thing. - How should we start? (laughing) - I have been dying to talk to you. Have you, I called you this morning that immediately hung up? Because I was like, wait, we have recording today. I'm excited to just like shoot the shit because we've had like topics for the first episodes because we had like important things to update everyone on. And now, I feel like this is our first episode where we like the worlds are wasting. - No, we can literally yap about literally anything now. Do I need to remove Hank from the studios? Speaking of, no, he's good. - No, he's good. - He's fine. He'll be, if you're watching this on YouTube, (laughing) if you're watching this on YouTube, there's a dog roaming around. Okay, where should we start? How's your day? - My day's good. I'm solo, which doesn't happen often for someone who spends 24/7 with their husband. And then he leaves. I'm like, I have so much freedom now. I can do whatever I want. AK, sit at home. (laughing) Aubrey, I have so much freedom now. Calls me lonely. Literally, I've called everyone on my contact list, I've eaten my whole pantry, and then, I'm actually going to a Noah Cajon concert tonight, which I'm so excited for. - That is so exciting. Who are you going with? - Juby, my one other friend in the city. - Hi, Juby. You know it's actually Cajon. I just watched the documentary, and I also said Noah Cajon, but it's Noah Cajon. When I set it out loud, just now I was like, that doesn't feel right. That was wrong. To the documentary, I was scream crying. Like, in it, laughing? No, scream crying in a sad, oh my God, the scene with the make-a-wish girl. Oh, I know that was so sweet. That was so sweet. - Oh my God, I was inconsolable. It was so good. - Oh my God, really? I didn't cry during the whole documentary. - Wow, I didn't know you didn't have a soul. That's crazy. - Well, but you know what I did cry for? Don't say good luck. I told you you have to watch that, Adam. - I know, I need to watch that. - Movie, but I will say I did watch that documentary and think I would love to work with him on binge eating. Oh my God, that's so true. I forgot. - I'm like, how do I get to know his people? Like, I've been there. - He's such a real person. He's so amazing. - He's so real. I'm like, how hard is it to track down like that house and like the snow? Like, can I knock on the door? - No, I know. When he calls me on stage tonight and we become best friends, I'll make sure to send him to your account. I just get so like, I just get so worked up about that in like a wanting to help way because I feel like I know exactly what it was like to struggle and like restrict in binge and feel like that was a cycle I had to be in forever. And now that I'm not, I want people to know like, no, you can like get out of it. You can, like, and then you'll be free. And so I just like want to help people. Anyways, it was a good documentary, but I was going to say you actually made me think about the fact, well, Max is gone for me every weekend with a fall season, but just would being away from you for it's been like two days. - I've actually been like-- - No, it's been one day. - It's been unbearable. - Okay, it's been a day. And I've, as your best friend, really felt that from you. And it's made me think if you're married and your partner leaves like frequently, it's okay to, I guess, adjust or struggle with the adjustment because I feel like I've had to train myself to be like, I need to stack my social life. I need to like being alone. I need to have plans like if I'm not super happy and content with life while Max is gone, I view it as like I'm doing something wrong. And I'm like, no, it's okay to be like, I miss my husband and I don't like to be alone. I, I mean, I feel like I'm so the wrong, I'm like so on the opposite end of the spectrum. I think about all the time, like when I was single, like I couldn't imagine like tying my whole life to another person. Like I was always like preaching like, oh, I have to have my independence. No, like I wouldn't even care if they're long distance because I have such my own life going on now, like my whole brand and identity is my husband, which feels like the antithesis of who I was six years ago. But like, I feel like it's healthy to miss your husband. No, it is healthy and that's my, that's my homie. I feel like I'm not gone, yeah. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. And it's so fun to like reunite and everything. But no, I know what you mean. I do think though we just like do a good job as humans to adapt to like our circumstances. So like if someone single, they lean into the like, I'm single, I get to make my apartment in my space exactly what I want. I get to do what I want to do like, you know, and there's like that empowerment piece of it. And then of course when you're in a relationship, you would lean into that really hard. Totally. I know I always feel like I love the idea of being alone in theory. Like I'm like, oh, what's gone this weekend? I get to do whatever and then it's like 8 p.m. And I'm like, who can I talk to now? No, literally, literally. I feel like sometimes all I do is sit around and call people and I'm like Victoria, you have to show. No, I feel like that's an appropriate use of time. We're social beings. I had got yours today. Do you remember our 8th grade trip to DC? Aubrey, how could I forget? Guys, we room together for the 8th grade DC trip. If there's any 8th graders listening, stop listening. But also don't listen to this podcast to where your very parents. But we roomed together on that trip and there was one night, we were starving. And we went to a very strict camp, like so hungry. Yeah, strict camp, like school, we would ask. They weren't feeding us. And then it was like, you know, if you go to the vending machine, actually, you're going to be expelled and you're not going to get into college anywhere. Like we were just raised and we were constantly. We weren't terrified to go to the vending machine because it would mean we were out of our hotel room. It would mean we were out of our hotel room after like 5.30 PM, which we'd be like, we're not going to do. We fed you at 3 o'clock, you should be fine now. Yeah, and so Aubrey and I were like starving. God, that was honestly one of our best nights together is in that DC hotel room. So we're so hungry. We literally are like, do we run to the vending machine and kind of risk our whole future? What do we do? And then I was trying to be an athlete, like, you know, we had big dreams. It went on for like, I think it was at least one hour of like, of really being hungry and being like, we're effed until the morning, I guess. We need food. And then I don't remember, was it me that remembered? I think so because I packed it. I think so. And I packed together because we were inseparable. And for whatever reason, our parents let us have sleepovers on school nights all the time. Like I just lived at Victoria's house. Yeah, yeah, that's true. I mean, you know, Vic right now, she's giving the, oh, well, she was gonna say it was 'cause your dad passed away and you know, your mom had some likes, it had been two years since then. We were just, we were milking that. We were milking that. So true. So true. Aubrey, you're just sad about, yep, I'm going to Vic's. Yes. Yes, I would feel most comfortable with my best friend at this point. Did you guys like how I like went to say that and did a slow fade? Like, you never know with your friend. I'm like, how can I bring it up? Can I bring it up in this way? Like, you never know where there are days, two years. Oh, speaking of, it is my dad. It, I think it's been 19 years today, actually. It was 21st. I know. That was such a natural segue. Wait, anyways, back to the question. I haven't texted you about it yet today. I know you're a huge bitch. You don't care about me at all. Oh my God. Oh my God. I'm kidding. Wait, oh my God, Vic, we have the podcast to yeah. Okay, okay. Well, come here. And you're alone, what's not there? And you're not getting princess cake. Fuck. No, don't worry. Would already sent me a whole princess cake. Don't even worry. Oh my God, he's so cute. He's so sweet. I, to the gushers. Do we finish the gushers story? So, okay. It's cool. I'll just kind of be sitting here freaking out in my head the whole time, but yeah, let's keep going. So the gushers, basically, I don't know, we, we ended up remembering. I was like, oh my God, the gushers. And I open my backpack. I think it's like a Jansport backpack. And you guys, we had stuffed this backpack with like 10 boxes of gushers to the brim. It was just a backpack full of gushers. Was gushers. And we literally, it was like, we freaked out. We're crying laughing. We have all these gushers. I don't know how we even forgot up in this before. Clearly, I had too many eating issues that I forgot. I had food in my backpack. And we found the gushers and it was like, it was the best thing ever. Like, imagine you're so hungry. You're so convinced there's no food around. And then you have a backpack full of gushers. Like it was-- That might have been where the binge eating started, actually. Like, do you think we ate the whole backpack full of gushers? Slowly. No, literally. So yeah, I did have a gusher today and it made me think of you. I was just leaving my workout. I went to the grocery store. I was just getting my power bars for a trip I'm going on. And I walked past the gushers and I was like, you're coming home with me. You're coming home with me. We're the fruit roll-ups that we'd wrap around our fingers and just kind of-- Oh, love that. I owe you an appropriately. I always did that. Because you know where I got that from. Jenna Rink in 13, going on 30. - She sucks the fruit roll up off her finger. - That's. - Right. - That's right. - Yeah. So that's where I stole that from. But anyways, big fan of gothers and furlops. But I went to the grocery store after my workout. And I feel like with this pregnancy, I'm learning as I go. Like each week with different symptoms, I'm like, oh, can't do that, can do that. This makes me feel good, this makes me feel bad. Like you're constantly learning, so you have to be kind to yourself. But I really pushed myself on my workout on Tuesday. Like I was gobbled squatting 70 pounds. I was like, it was tough. Like so much that like my trainer was handing me the weight 'cause like I wasn't able to just like, keep picking it up from the floor. And at that point, it's like, if I can't pick up my own weight from the floor, like maybe I shouldn't be lifting it. - We should go down and wait. - Yeah, you're creating a life, you know? I feel like five pounds we could give ourselves a little grace with the gobbled fully. But in my head, as like an athlete and stuff, I'm like, well, I feel like I know I can do it. Like, and then it's like, it does feel uncomfortable. Why is it so hard to like advocate for yourself? But I don't know if it's just like me and I don't want to generalize all women, but like it is hard for me to sometimes advocate for myself, especially with like male trainers or male athletes 'cause like I want to be tough. I want to be strong. I want to be as good as the boys. So like it's hard for me to like look at them and be like, no, I can't do this today. And so I did the whole workout, including med ball slams, which I swear to you. Like I remember looking at that as my last thing and being like, it is not in my highest invest to be like this aggressive today slamming this med ball up and down like six reps of 20 side twists. Like I didn't want to do it, but I was like, let's finish the workout. We're not gonna quit. I'm not a quitter. It actually, I was couch ridden for two days. Dude, we, I feel like that crunching motion, that can't be good. The baby's just like, I will say I was swooshing around in there. I did tell them I don't like to fully extend my hands over, like I don't like the stretch of my torso because as you know, I'm tender. That's my number. We're not so. Vic has used the word tender. I think 4,200 times in the last. How far along are you? Every day, Aubrey's like, how are you? I'm like tender. No, I'm like, don't even sit. Don't even tell me. I know already. It's like all the ligaments, everything's pulling and expanding. So I did say I didn't want to do the overhead, but I just stayed locked in and I just did like the arm slams. Anyways, it took it out of me for two days. I had to cancel my workout the every other day. I go, I canceled the one on Thursday because of this Tuesday workout. And then I went in today and I was like, you're a new bitch. We've learned and we're not doing what we don't want to do. And so I had Mad Ball Sam's at the end and I said, yeah, I don't think I have this today. And he didn't care at all. Like obviously I'm paying on the client. They're not going to like force me to do anything. So we learned and we did better. That's what I'm trying to say. We learned and we did better. I feel like you're right at that sweet spot. Where like you can still technically do everything that you could do beforehand, like at 13 weeks. You're not massive. You're starting to feel a little better. And then I feel like for me at least after that when I started like getting a belly and I feel like I've slowed down significantly. Like I went on a 40 minute walk this morning and I was like, that was so much. That was a lot today. Well, I feel like when people can see the bump, they give you like a little more sympathy or like they don't question it as much. Whereas I do think I could maybe look normal. Like I actually thought I've been showing. But then today the trainer I was with 'cause they rotate through like didn't know until like you know 20 minutes and he said, what's new? And I was like, did they tell you I was like, I'm pregnant? And he was like, oh no, congrats. And I was like, so you couldn't tell. Okay. Okay, perfect. I will say also having the bump though. Like I feel like I'm milking the shit out. I'm standing there at the boarding gate and I Google, can I board early if I'm pregnant? Like there's not anything I'm not milking with this. Put the hand on the stomach. I'm like, I will be sitting in priority seating actually. Thank you. You looking around to see who will get up to give you a seat on the bus. There's 40 seats open. I want someone to stand up for me. Wait, we have to tell them about the inverse girl conversation we were having while you were getting ready to go to dinner and Wood was like, imagine if you're like high school selves, I heard you guys have this conversation. We literally, we were talking about, I was going to an event with my team and I was like, they'd be honest with me. Like, does it look like I'm pregnant? She was like, yes, you clearly have a huge belly. Like, and I was like, okay, but like really? Like, is it like round and like you can like really tell? And she's like, yes, it's like popping out of you. Like you look huge. And I'm just like, okay, good, thank you. Like just, I just want to make sure. Like, it looks like I'm pregnant. I go, no, you look so pregnant. The belly is belly-ing. And Wood's like, imagine like you're younger selves hearing just this conversation without knowing the context. - Thank you. - You look huge. - Oh my god. - Thank you. Okay, I thought so. I thought so. And I love that. I think that's like such a great part of pregnancy is like embracing like you're changing, growing body. And that was just so funny to think about. So good, so good. I know I got an impromptu day with you this week. I don't ever do day trips. I felt very, I don't know, business woman to do day trips. - I know, it's so important. You came to go to get no boo dinner with your team. Who are you? - When I was packing for the trip, I had this epiphany that Vic and I as much as we like to think we're sisters, we're not actually sisters because Vic, when she was here, like, I don't know, a month ago left this cheap white scrunchy that is so adorable here. And I was like, great, that's mine now. And I knew she was so sad she left this scrunchy. I literally texted her like, oh did I leave my scrunchy and she was like, you did and I'm wearing it now. You did and now it's mine. And as I was packing for the trip, like over the hour of me packing, I debated for the full hour if I should pack this scrunchy for her. And I ended up putting it in my bag and in that moment, I was like, you know what, we're not sisters because sisters wouldn't have brought the scrunchy back to the other one. And I was like, oh, now I feel guilty that I've thought about it so much. So if I don't pack it, then I'm intentionally withholding the scrunchy and thank God I did pack it because when I was at the airport, Vic texted me, wait, can you bring my scrunchy? And I was like, you bitch, I already did, but I'm not happy about it. I know, I feel like a bitch checks me back 'cause I was like, oh, I can just order myself anyone on Amazon. But then I was like, oh, just see if she's gonna pack it. Um, I will say the other day I was twirling to myself 'cause I'm like, we are sisters. I'm like, the literal only thing that doesn't make us sisters is that we don't share blood. But that's also the literal only thing that makes to people's sisters. (laughing) Literally. I'm so scared 'cause I'm having a girl. I'm like, oh my God, like, I don't know sister dynamics. Like, I'm so comfortable with boys. I'm like, if the second one is a girl, like, that's gonna throw me. Like, I don't know how to operate with that. It is weird to think about like, having in order or a number or a gender that like, you didn't grow up with because you're not like, you're not familiar. I did see this tick-tock, though, that was speaking of Noah Kahn, speaking of sisters, brothers, literally, this is ding, ding, ding. But this girl did a video to the like, um, oh my God, what's that really sad Noah Kahn song? Or bitter. I'm gonna ask to not know the other one that they're having a tick-tock. It's like, it's like, I can keep singing. How does Willing and Abel go? Willing and Abel. Yeah, and it's like, oh, I wish you could know me. And I could know you, that part. And it was this girl doing her makeup and she was like, this, but you have two older brothers. And all the comments were like, I completely understand. Like, I never had a girl like, who understood me or like a sister and I wish I had a sister and I mourn that. And I just like, don't really do that experience because you were that for me. I did not feel like I missed having a sister at all. Obviously, I'm speaking from not having a sister, but I can't imagine not being the princess in my house. You know what I mean? I loved being the only girl in the center of attention. Me too, that's like, I'm the oldest and I'm a girl. Like, that comes with the responsibilities and they get the best presence at Christmas. I can't imagine having to like, not compete, but my mom have to love me and another daughter equally. Like, I couldn't share a lady's love like that. I will say my mom has a sister and I can appreciate the relationship of like older sisters, but like when I was younger and like seeing sisters and the way they fought, it's obviously not speaking for all sisters. I don't want any sisters listening to be like, that wasn't me and my sister because like, I fully know that we're just saying the sisters I knew, they were fucking to each other. And I feel like we were never mean to each other. No, we weren't, but I also think we wouldn't have been this close if one of us had had a sister because you'd, at least in our family dynamics, we would have been raised to like, you know, that sister to be like everything. So I think it worked out that we both didn't have sisters, but that's the unique thing about a sibling and it obviously depends on like, how you're raised and your family values and obviously at some point unconditional love runs out, but like when you have a sibling, you can really say whatever you want to them, like, but when you have a friend, like we are choosing to be in this relationship, like and that's actually crazy, like no one's forcing you to stay here. I feel like I thought about it when, if we go back to the whole like wedding debacle, I don't know if you guys remember this,
at the end of a real part of episode where Aubrey and I talked about how her and would plan their wedding for a fall D a Saturday and Max and I knew automatically that like he would have work and it would just be something to navigate and I remember in that moment feeling like why can I just say no you can't have a fall wedding like if you were my sister I could have maybe like blown up or just said that and I was like I 100% cannot say that because if I were to like ever betray the trust of royally pissed her off across the line there might be no going back because we're not blood totally and like and on the opposite side I think moving on paper moving your wedding date for someone who's not family yeah like isn't crazy so it's like you know like there's two sides to every token but yeah it's totally it's funny yeah that is so funny uh family dynamics sibling dynamics you know what's also interesting is wood and max we're both the oldest girls obviously you have an older brother so it's like slightly different but wooden max are also the youngest boys and I think that is a dynamic too like older girl younger boy I think wood and I wouldn't I really have the like older daughter youngest son relationship like my whole TikTok feed feeds me that all the time and like what is these what do they say about that I'm also the oldest daughter and max is youngest son I guess I'm not the oldest child yeah I just like oldest daughter is like bossy has a plan if you're not if you're not gonna do something in two seconds get out of her way because like she'll just do it herself like I think you do have some oldest daughter tendency like you're the one with the plan like you know what I mean which I think a lot of women end up having the plan and then wood just kind of like wood is so comfortable relaxing like he's so comfortable which max is not but wood is so comfortable like knowing when is time to relax and then like getting a lot of work done whereas like I need to be like on my feet all day if we're not doing something productive like what the point anyways like yeah it's like I just feel like I'm I'm the bossy older sister in our house yeah I'm that's so interesting I've never thought about like their experience like their age and like their attachment styles and how that would affect them I'm like they're just kind of here to serve really like max had an upbringing like they had a crazy no there was a there was a point in our relationship where max actually like I took him as such a like your you're just always gonna be a star that like he actually this is sad he didn't have a lot of space to like not be that and then I'm glad that you know years ago now we made like those realizations and we both played into it because I was maybe not giving him the space to step into and he also wasn't trying to make that space or step into it when the opportunity arose so it was like you know it's so interesting how two people are feeding like a subconscious narrative at the same time what what what particularly was it I feel like I'm super forthcoming with my emotions my mental health my anxiety if I'm stressed like I will seek it out and say do you have time to talk tonight I'm struggling or I will call him like I will initiate for my feelings to have space he won't do that so I've learned to be like how are you that sounded like an anxious phone call like how are you doing with it or like seasons coming up soon and I know that's a big strife how are you feeling and like really giving him runway and like letting him talk and encourage him to to come to me and to say things and if I do things that bother him because otherwise it's feeding that cycle oh I should do that more my house this household is filled with my emotions filled to the brim with my emotions especially now that I'm pregnant I'm gonna I'm gonna ask wood how he's doing I mean it's sadly with guys like they are not typically they are not encouraged to like show their emotions and display them and we are and they like both of us for certain reasons you know it's stereotypically in like a heterosexual relationship play into that and so I think it's so important especially for like the men in your life nothing makes me happier than when I'm sitting across like a lunch table or dinner table with a man in my life I care about whether it's a brother knacks a guy friend my dad and they start opening up and I just think oh my god it's happening is it happening I'm like I'm a muscle don't make any sudden movements don't blink I'm like don't speak don't grab your water just listen I remember that happens with my older brother like a year or two ago and I was just like what did I do to get the pleasure of like look inside your brain and heart you guys nothing gets victory going more than when someone starts to get deep it's mostly just unprompted I had it's like oh my god it's happening I exactly right wanted man no I had a friend over the other night who I haven't seen in a long time and within like 40 minutes they were opening up about something they're struggling with and they were crying and I was thinking this is exactly my dream night like we're on the couch we're being super real like I don't want to be at a bar like I want to be here hearing your problems like let me light a candle like a box of tissues and we're just gonna have a cozy little night in where you solve about your deepest traumas no literally I mean it's just like everything else is boring tomato tomato like I want to do that I want to get to it and it's like that thing about you nights of solace human beings like you know I know suffering I think I think also with the guys like I just how we were saying at the beginning of this like we have a moment alone I'm calling everyone it's not like I'm just updating you on this one problem I'm having it's I'm updating wood and then I'm calling my mom to talk about it a little more and then you know I didn't really love my mom's take on it so I'm gonna go to you and then I have to update you know the group chat on what Vic said and now I'm gonna take that advice to kind of like move forward you know what I mean yeah I have 12 people to update and then all of the listeners here you guys are gonna be getting lots updates yeah no fully there's a lot of chatting going on to process these big feelings never heard max be like I'm gonna call he's never called two people about the same thing he's never called anyone about anything because they marry us and then like where are their people wait I've never called one person about one thing I have a roster of 12 people that I need to call to update so many people talking about this because max had like a situation come up recently and he like was waiting to get some answer about it and he got it and then and he was nervous about it and then this morning he texted me like you know just got the answer and I and I remember responding like great like I can't wait to hear more about it tonight and I'm thinking like who does he text if it's not me like are guys just more solitary I would love to hear like in the comments your guys guys to our one male listener oh I do our one male listener yeah or I was more talking about the girl's husbands like you're the girl's boyfriend I didn't know there were any guys here if there are high although if you're a gay queen we love you too and you don't have a man in your house yes that's true too I was gonna say I will say I think when guys are having a problem they call wood like I've never heard wood reach out to someone but wood takes a lot of calls where he's like I'm gonna go in the other room and you know because XYZ wants to call me and you know what they love it they feel so chosen like when someone reached out to max to like pick his brain or talk through something he is lit up like he is the chosen one why don't they do it to each other more just call call to just chat you guys wait that's my that trend went so viral of people calling their guy friends to just say just saying good night just say good night oh my god I wanted wood to do that to my stepdad oh my god why didn't you do that to Rich why can I still do it I just feel like it's not even too late oh my god no it's rich of course hasn't seen the trend or like seen Instagram since its inception so Rich hasn't read our group our family group chat for 10 years don't don't even worry you know what he was going on that's so funny um what else should I should I talk about the drama I had I think you should talk about the drama you have I mean why did we start the pod why did we start the pod I'm like scared about him fuel to the fire because I've just decided to let it lay me the devil and the shoulder I was like like maybe not let it lay just for the pod I think okay keep this here you guys yeah keep this here you guys this is the circle of trust basically I had posted this video for the prenatals that I'm taking which I think are wonderful shout out parallel and all I said in my video was that the supplements that I had been taking beforehand did not contain iron when I went to the doctor they told me I was ironed efficient and a lot of you guys had messaged me telling me that I should be taking a prenatal with iron in it which my doctor agreed with so then the brand of the prenatal you used to be taking so
saw that you were now using a different one that had iron and decided to make a video where they pulled Aubrey's video and they put it as the opening of their video with the caption, something like, we are only interested in facts and then, quote, like, not spreading misinformation. Which to me, I think that it read, like, Aubrey is spreading misinformation. And you just felt like it kind of attacked because you're like, I'm just sharing my experience of I took a prenatal without iron. It didn't work for me. My doctor told me to take a prenatal with iron and now they're like, subtly like adding you and then did they message you? They messaged me, sent me this whole paragraph about like, oh my God, we wanted to reach out like about the post we made. We wanted to ensure that you knew the post wasn't directed at you in any way. What do you mean? You used my video. In any way is crazy. Any way is crazy. So they were super nice in their first message, like, you know, explaining that their goal is to educate women and I was like, you know, totally understand. I felt like the caption that you used and I quoted back to them, I'm a big fan of science not spreading misinformation really through me and made it feel personal and like, you branded me as someone who spreads misinformation when I was just sharing my experience. Can you take it down? They respond, totally understand. You know, we're coming from, no, we can't take it down. I messaged them again. I'm like, appreciate the additional context. You made me feel singled out, which they said, we hope we didn't single you out. And then they responded very curtly. No, we can't take it down basically. And I'm just like, what a weird marketing tactic. It is weird to use another pregnant woman's experience to like promote your, I don't know. And then when you reach out to them and say, can you take it down and they don't like, I think that's so, that's just so bad. Like if I use someone in my video and they personally requested, they didn't like the piece of content the way I made it. Like 100% I would take it down. And because they don't want to take it down, great. Then let's talk about it and we're talking about it here. Totally. I'm like, okay, like you won't let me say my piece. So like it's not to me, the other thing that like, and look, I'm not a doctor, I'm not a scientist. But clearly there are prenatals with iron in them being sold, working for women to deliver healthy babies and have healthy pregnancies. And that OBGYNs are recommending to their patients. My OBGYN who I love recommended a prenatal settlement with me with iron in it. So it's like, they keep leaning on this like, it's the science, it's the science, it's the facts, but then like don't actually give you the study or the data. I'm the next clip. I'm the next clip and they're going to stick to it. You're the next clip. Oh my god. Oh god. Do you not give anyone permission to use this? You can't use this. I won't. You'll hear from a lawyer. The doctor or an OBGYN, like I'm confused. I mean, yeah, it's just, it's interesting. It wasn't our favorite and because it didn't take it down, we wanted to talk about it. I feel like it hurt my feelings. And it's like, don't misprame me. I'm very particular about the people that I work with. And like, yeah, it's a good, good supplement. And you don't spread misinformation. I make funny videos online. That's what I'm here to do. I'm here to spread joy. You're innocent. OK, should we do star six seven? Yes. I love star six seven. Hi, I'm going to be using this as event session. So I have a friend from college. She's getting married later this year, which very exciting. And she has her Bachelorette trip coming up in about a month. And we've started planning this in April. And I'm submitting this around the fall. So her maid of honor is her child of best friend. And she tasked her maid of honor to plan the said Bachelorette trip. It is an international trip. And we've been trying to plan this since April. And her maid of honor kept putting it off, saying, I will plan it during my summer vacation-- sorry, not summer vacation-- her summer break from work. Made of honor is back at work. She has planned nothing. Absolutely nothing. No reservations. It's a group of over 10 girls. We have no restaurant reservations. We don't have anything. We don't have activities planned. Nothing. We have an idea. That is it. We have an Airbnb because someone else booked it. It is absolutely stressful, especially being an international trip with over 10 ladies. And yeah, it's very upsetting. We're trying to see what we can do. But the maid of honor can be kind of a bully, too. So we also don't want to step on our toes because we know we're not going to be faced with very kind words. That was it. Just need an event. Thanks, y'all. For the sake of this bride, someone step in. Someone take over, someone just booked the whole thing. I don't care. Oh my god, that is horrid. Like, if I was set to go abroad, which is the biggest ask, like, can we level set that for a second? Like, bachelor's and weddings abroad are huge asks. Like, huge asks. So I think if you're going to make an ask like that, you have to be so generous. It has to be so meticulously planned, so fun. Like, it just-- that sounds-- I can't-- like, that sounds like actually you're worst-fucking-nighter worlds. That's what I'm trying to respectfully get at. Like, abroad with 10 girls, and there's no plan. And you have to pay for your flights and your hotels. Like, I would find an excuse not to go. I'm just like-- I mean, these girls must love the bride that 10 girls accepted this invitation. And they're like, down to go and do the thing. I think for the sake of the bride, if the bride-- Like, I don't know, I think the bride-- I think the bride of the dark-- Do she know there's no plan, you know? I was going to say, is she in the dark? Has anyone told the bride? I think tell the bride, or if you don't want to tell the bride, someone just-- I think you guys have to band together and take down the bully and plan the trip. Because it doesn't sound like anything's happening. Also, if it's like majority, if the majority of you are like, this frickin' maid of honors not planning it, she's not doing it, we're all adults here. Like, I would maybe give a phone call, send a text, and be like, hey, I'd love to be helpful where I can. I have time, extra time right now, or my best friend just went to this location, and has a great itinerary. I called the round, like, I don't know. It would be hard for me not to take initiative. Did I miss, do we have a wedding date and a bachelorette date? Do we have dates on the calendar? The bachelorette has a date, but they didn't mention the wedding. I'm like, are we approaching? I'm like, this feels all very tight. You know what's really exciting is kids being a forever excuse to not go to things you don't want to go to. I'd like to clarify everyone listening. Vic is not being a bad friend here. Vic just can't fathom going abroad or on any trip without a plan like this with 10 girls. Like, this is truly your worst nightmare. But also, it's like for who? Like, that's the thing too. For who? Because I would do anything for you. I do anything for some of my friends. But then you wouldn't allow this to happen to your good friends though. You would step in and be like, sorry, this maid of honor is useless. I'm going to be taking over from here. I feel for this. And you would stand up to the bully. I know. I feel for this sweet listener though, because that is definitely not cool. You're so valid in your feelings. And I don't blame you if you want to stand up to the bully and try to get this thing planned. Banned together girls. We're stronger in numbers. Banned together. For the bride's sake. OK. And then I have one more that is wedding themed. OK, so I'm a bridesmaid and a wedding coming up. And she was actually bridesmaid in my wedding a few months ago. But she was kind of like my last ad like I needed a fifth person because my husband has so many brothers. And so I feel like she only asked me because I asked her. And I don't want to be in this wedding. However, I have jumped through all the hoops and done all the things. And I have to travel very far to get to this wedding. And she is like being very controlling. And I understand how difficult it is to be a bride. I was just a bride. However, she's taken it to a new level. But I want to color my hair back to my natural color. I'm a blonde and I want to go back to being like a brunette with highlights. And I know she's going to freak out about it because that's just like the type of thing she would freak out about. So I'm trying to decide if I want to do it before her wedding or not. But like my hair looks horrible. So I really want it to not look horrible by the time of her wedding, which is like in a month. So I'm not really sure what to do. And it would make me feel really good if I colored my hair. And I'm like, it's my head. It's my hair, who cares? And I'm not even really sure if we're going to talk very much after this wedding, which is like sad. But it's just kind of one of those friendships that I've grown out of. And we live our way. And we just don't stay connected as much as my other friends. So help me decide what to do. - Dye your hair and get kicked out of the wedding. It's two birds one stone. - Perfect. - Get exactly what you want. I mean, 100% dye your hair. You have freaking body autonomy. That would be ridiculous.
That's actually playing that out. You dye your hair a natural color. At first, I thought you were gonna say, I'm feeling really called to be in my purple era. And I was gonna be like, maybe that can wait. If it's a fake. - Vic, you can relate. - You've been called to be in a pink era, once or twice before. - I have. - I have. - I dyed my hair pink once, we've all been there. But because you said a natural color, dye your hair, that would be absurd. Let's actually think about it. She messages you and says, hey, I can't believe you dyed your hair brown like as if you were chosen because you're a blonde and just certain amount of blondes. Like, although I'm sensing that those brides of Bernat, because only a Bernat would be upside, I think of someone. Why would you, I mean, right? Yeah, I mean, it's silly in general. But my assumption is maybe like she has dark brown hair with blonde highlights and so she doesn't want, I don't know. You were selected because your hair fit the color palette. - Also, like, I do think it is a little bit of karma that you put someone in your wedding, you didn't really feel like you genuinely had this deep friendship with. And now it's like karma's coming around and you're being taxed with some responsibilities you don't want. Like, why do weddings do that to people? - Weddings do that to people, I feel for you. I feel like it's so hard. I feel like so many people have, oh, that cousin or that friend, and they feel obligated to, you know, I, that's tough. I say, do what you want to do. I say, live your damn life, because I think we talked about on one of the other episodes. Like, I was going to delay literally getting pregnant with a child because I was like, no, I don't know if I want to be pregnant at those weddings. But it's crazy, live your damn life. And if the brides are going to kick you out. - Yeah, I don't kick you out. - Die your hair. - And one other thing I'll say, and I literally sound like Mac talking to me, because I totally understand. Like, I will like calculate and be like, "Mah, we won't be friends after this." Like, I get you on that. I will say though, you're going to travel to her wedding. You're going to be a bridesmaid. Like, it would actually probably make your experience better. If you try to lean in and lift the veil of like, I'm in this position because we've had these memories. And we might not be as close now, but we once were. And like, maybe you can create some really special moments with this bride, who was your bridesmaid too. And like, re-kind of get the spark back. I just think if you're going to be a bridesmaid and you're going to do it all, like, open the heart a little bit, right? I think so, yeah. Like, instead of deciding beforehand, I mean, it can only help. And then if she shows you who she is a million times and you're like, "I can confirm I have outgrown her," then, you know. - That's true. Don't force me. - Call it after the wedding. - But, you know, the verdict is die your hair. (laughing) - Die your damn hair, girl. - Die your hair. - Okay. - Okay. - It's your something beautiful. - Why something beautiful was blocking Hank to the vet this morning, which if you map it, it's a 15-minute walk. I'm not kidding. It took me 45 minutes to get there. Because we'd walk two steps and someone would wanna say hi. We would have two steps. Someone else would wanna say hi. I met so many people on the way. I left myself so much time. And I don't know why. I thought I was gonna grab a coffee or something and like chill, but it was so wonderful this morning. And I'm also like, I'm a little more recognizable with Hank. Like people are like, oh my God, Hank. Wait, I know you. Like, you know what I mean? - That's so funny. So I met so many sweet people this morning. - I mean, he's so hard to ignore. He's like the cutest frickin' thing ever. - I think it's more psycho if people walk by and they ignore him. I'm like, who hurt you? - Yeah. - No, fully, fully. - Who hurt you and let him fix it, you know? - Literally. - What we use to be is something beautiful is that I did a little family gender reveal last night. So that was really cute and special. And even today, my mom's like, you know, texting me still excited to know and start planning. So that was my something beautiful. And I mean, actually there's something beautiful within the something beautiful. It was at my brother and cubby showed up with both a boy and a girl gift. Like went to the store, picked out two items. I don't even need a gift. First of all, two items, kept the receipt. And we're like, whichever it is, you get that gift and I'll return the other. And I was like, that's the sweetest thing ever. - So sweet. - I feel like you lucked out on the sister in law category. - I know. - Covey to the ass. - I do love that you're giving your brother credit for that though. - He actually, he's the one that did go pick out the items. - No way. - Oh my God. - The men doing the bad men. - I'm sorry, I doubted you. - Yes. - So sorry. - I think I'd work or was that a town or something in Jonathan? Jonathan loves that stuff. Him picking out clothes for a baby, both genders. He probably spent two hours in there. - Oh, for sure. He had all the options laid out. He had all the sales associates. - For the gender, it wasn't. He was like, but I gotta show you the outfit I chose because you just gotta see this one. - Oh my God. - Okay, well, so cute. - We love you guys. Thanks for listening. Thanks for listening to us.
