The transcript blends football commentary, satire, and lifestyle promotion into a dynamic, often humorous narrative. It celebrates Miller Lite as a cultural staple of game days, emphasizing its reliability and nostalgic value. The show critiques real-life incidents, such as head coach Nick Sirianni’s disrespectful remarks toward an opponent, highlighting concerns about power and emotional control in sports leadership. It also satirizes high-profile trades, like the Clippers’ acquisition of Brandon Ingram with a non-functional Achilles, suggesting ethical and business failures. Supplement brands like IM8 are pitched as convenient, science-backed solutions for daily wellness. The “Cuervo effect” is used as a metaphor for transformative social moments. Throughout, the tone alternates between playful absurdity and serious commentary on professionalism, player safety, and sportsmanship. The content reflects a broader cultural commentary on how modern sports intersect with personal identity, ethics, and consumerism.
There are some football moments that just live forever in your brain.

And for me, what I'm drinking is Miller Lite.

Against the spread is presented by DraftKings Sports.
DraftKings.
The crown is yours.
Juju.
Yes, sir, man.
Unfortunately, I got some bad news for Minnesota.
Tonight, the Lynx traveled to New York for the WNBA playoffs.
Brianna Stewart has that look in her eyes.
I'm so sorry, Queen Fee, but I think that Olympic break was a no-no when it comes to the winning.
I'm taking the New York Liberty plus three and a half.
Uh-oh!
To end the season.
All right, Greg.
The Patriots are in trouble.
Drake May is terrible.
And you know what's a bad place to try to get right and get well?
Buffalo.
I like the Bills minus seven with a double-digit win.
You guys might be shocked to know Greg Cody benched Drake May in his fantasy league.
Whoa!
Shocking news.
Yeah, that's big news.
The AMFFFT didn't want to do it.
But, you know, our backup was Jared Goff, who's a productive-as-hell quarterback, so we made the big switch.
Will May earned the job back.
Everybody's waiting to find out.
How'd the rest of the team handle it?
You know what?
We had a team meeting, and it was a little shock.
It was a little oomph.
I have some bonus observations for you from yesterday.
I had 51 observations I said were exclusive to this platform, but the exclusivity is DraftKings Network, Samsung TV+, the Roku channel, Vizio, Watch Free.com.
Plus, Peacock, NBC Sports Now, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, Amazon Music, and SiriusXM Channel 85.
So it's not exactly exclusive, but I gave you 51 big, semi-exclusive thoughts yesterday.
Another thought from yesterday that did not make the top 51.
Did you guys see that Josh Allen 4th and 7th play?
The one I'm talking about that changed the entirety of that game.
We're talking about their number of turnovers and sloppy and reckless and the Chargers stink and the Chargers season is over.
But there's only one.
There's only one quarterback in the league that makes that play.
In fact, that should have gotten the balls imaging.
The balls imaging that you guys made yesterday that didn't feature us going to anyone who had balls should have been Josh Allen on that 4th and 7th play.
Because they've got the only quarterback in the league that you trust in a 4th and desperate situation to just fart a first down out of his butt.
Balls.
The ballsiest of balls.
Ballsy.
Oh, the balls that took.
Cojones.
Balls.
Ballin' it.
It's time for the ballsiest move of the weekend.
Balls.
We never found anything yesterday that matched that imaging, but now I just gave it to you.
Another thing from the weekend that I did not talk about, but I really do, I want to laud as one of the most impressive things in sports, the general stubbornness of our armed forces in insisting on running offenses from the 1800s among all the spaceships of the modern age.
Army, I salute you in being number one in rushing because you can't throw and you just insist on playing a game that requires a 20 play drive.
And four possessions all game.
Your stubborn excellence about running the horse and buggy from the Amish 1800s when everyone in the sport demands on doing spaceships and high flying offense is a tribute to your excellence and stubbornness.
It's hard to get good quarterbacks when you don't give out scholarships for football when you're Army or Navy.
And that's why, Dan, that's why I keep telling you, what if you could trade?
In college football, you don't think Army would be out there looking to trade for a quarterback?
Imagine you're the quarterback at some random school in Syracuse.
Somebody taps back.
Hey, listen, you just got traded.
You're in the Army now.
It's a great point that you're bringing up where in one case you can get NIL and a scholarship.
In the other, you could die for our country.
Six, seven.
You're right.
It's a recruiting disadvantage.
They have a hard time.
So that's how they have to play.
We're just going to fight you in the trenches.
Three yards at a time.
And you don't want us on fourth and one.
You don't want those problems.
We're just going to do 20 play drives.
And it really is stubborn resilience.
Our armed forces doing something with no real tools.
You know how we're going to beat you?
We're just going to punch you in the face all the way down the field.
And don't put us in fourth and one because you got no answers for our run pass option that's never going to have a pass in it.
Imagine you're the quarterback at Western Kentucky.
You get tapped on the shoulder.
Hey, we just traded you.
You're now in the air force.
Well, air force throws the ball some as they must being air force.
Yeah, they have to.
But Navy and Army and Navy even throws the ball.
Some Army doesn't throw the ball.
Army is saying, nope, we want to be in fourth and one.
You're now in the army.
See you there.
Oh, 600 hours.
Are you ready for top five observations from last night's game?
Because I do have top five observations from last night game.
Number five is Jalen Hurts has now thrown 15 interceptions on Monday Night Football since 2020.
That's so much more than everyone else.
If you have only been watching Monday Night Football, you think Jalen Hurts stinks.
Like not, I'm not sure if he's a good quarterback or not.
He stinks.
He's thrown so many more interceptions on Monday Night Football than anyone else.
He was bad last night.
They scored one touchdown last night and barely had enough time to do that.
He was so mad he had to come out for the couple of plays.
And Dalton goes in there and intercepts in the end zone.
Thank you.
That's number four.
Andy Dalton.
One pass for the game.
Woof.
Woof.
I mean, Andy at the goal line.
If the entire field had been covered in the smell that Zaslow leaves in the bathroom here after he's gone.
Why is it me?
I'm the only one who poops.
I saw a stat that said Case Keenum and Andy Dalton for Houston and TCU started against each other in the 2007 Texas Bowl.
Number three is that's the worst offensive performance Philadelphia's had in four seasons.
Hut, hut.
Does that include the game that they didn't complete a pass in the second half last season?
Yes.
That's the worst offensive performance in four years from the Eagles.
Number two, Zaslow, is you saw Bigsby out there punching.
He's getting punched and fumbling.
Okay.
Stop sending me messages on Twitter every time someone punches the ball.
Do you know about that layman?
Yes.
Yes.
I know about that.
I know about that layman.
I see it every time I'm watching the game.
Can I be clear on something?
I don't have a problem with the player punching out the football.
Let's be clear.
I don't have a problem with that.
What I have a problem with is if you miss and you punch the guy in the face, how is that allowed?
He's got a face mask.
And last night it worked.
And it's about as egregious as a punch.
This was a flying punch over the shoulder of a teammate that worked.
It was exceptionally done.
at a strange angle.
It's one of the best punches I've ever seen.
It's cheating.
It is cheating.
It's cheating.
You shouldn't.
The tush push is cheating, and the punching the ball is cheating.
Let's do it together.
Hey, that's what I'm talking about.
The NFL needs to abolish both things, and the punch is the worst.
Well, Zaz has been alone on this for a while.
Nobody is agreeing.
No one's on my side.
You're the first person to get on Zaz's side on this, and you're taking it up a notch,
because he's not calling it cheating, although he is saying, how is this allowed?
It should be a penalty.
Everyone is just okay with the idea that you can punch another player during the play.
Obviously, if you punch the player after the whistle, that's going to be an ejection.
But if you do it during the play, totally cool.
Yeah.
It is cheating, and it's a violent form of cheating.
It's like sacking a quarterback violently, and you're going to get a flag.
You punch twice in a game, you're ejected.
Yeah, I think I'm coming around on Big Brother Zaz right here, man.
It's like, yeah.
The punch, when it lands, great, you're a ball.
But if you miss and hit my brother in the chin or on the hip, uh-uh, 15 yards, that way.
Damn.
That is something that should be penalized if you miss.
I think that's a fair rule change.
Like, you can punch, but if you don't do it successfully.
Only if it's the face, though.
Like, if he punches you in the arm, like, I'm cool with that.
Yeah, like, in basketball, if you punch the ball out of a player's hand, that's okay.
But if you punch the player in the face, it's not okay.
But in basketball, they're not wearing a face mask, though.
Like, I don't think a whole lot of people are saying that if you hit one of those Lego helmets
that they are going to feel a whole lot of bad for a punch to the face mask.
That's going to hurt your hand more than it's going to hurt anybody's head.
Yeah, no, you're right about that.
Football season can make maintaining any routine difficult.

Dan Levitar.
Is there a Back in My Day?
There is, actually.
What?
Are you not going to tell anyone?
Wait a minute.
You guys. It's a Tuesday.
Greg Cody.
Here's your guy, Greg Cody, with Back in My Day.
Okay, here it is.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Adultery.
Oh!
Yeah!
Wait a minute.
We are back.
I can't wait for this one.
This is the Dan Levitar Show.
The punching thing. And don't start the music.
But back in my day, you jarred the ball loose with a hard tackle.
No, wait a minute.
Not with one of these.
We do need the music.
We do need the music for that.
Back in my day, a tackle was a proper tackle.
Make the tackle great again.
M-A-T-A.
MATA.
No, it's true.
That's not at all what the acronym would be.
MATA?
How did you just do that?
Make America's tackle again.
I don't know.
How did you. What did you just do?
I don't know.
I have no idea.
But you just. You flew through it as if you nailed it.
You threw. You felt like you got the acronym exactly right.
I like MATA.
M-T-T-A.
It doesn't matter.
I mean, back in the day of. Ray Nitschke, just to use an example.
Oh, dear God.
Go ahead and look up Ray Nitschke and the years that he played.
When Nitschke was a middle linebacker, he jarred the ball loose naturally by tackling
the opponent, not by going like this.
He did it with his mean.
He made you fumble with his mean, Ray Nitschke.
What years did Ray Nitschke play, Jeremy?
Sixties.
I'm looking right now.
I got enamored with the hat that he's wearing in the first photo.
Oh, my God.
This man was born in 19. 1936.
He spent 15 years in the league.
He was a two-time Super Bowl champion, and I'm trying to find. First career.
He was part of the 1958 NFL draft.
He's 23.
But the hat.
He's 23 in that photo.
Oh, my God.
The hat.
That photo right there is also of Brock Bowers.
Brock Bowers, I maintain, is the greatest of the balding athletes.
No one has ever represented dominance from the balding category.
Not bald.
Not totally bald.
Balding.
In mid-bald.
Brock Bowers is as great an athlete as we've had.
Look at his hat.
Terry Bradshaw is close.
But in terms of not seeming athletic, the kind of Bowers balding that I feel comfortable mocking is,
that's never associated with athletic excellence.
Never mind.
He's always open.
But my number one point from last night's game, and I wonder how many people are talking about this
because Nick Sirianni did some of the rarest stuff for one of these ultra-masculine coaches
where he's apologizing.
He's apologizing and ruing his behavior because on the sidelines, after his quarterback was
hit on the sidelines and late hit and he was mad on behalf of his quarterback and Hurts
and the team.
Did he apologize last night for this?
Yeah.
Well, he said he rues his emotions.
Great word.
And what happened, though, and the apology is fine and it's nice that he apologized,
but I really do want to ask you guys this question.
If you're DeMarco Jackson. If you're DeMarco Jackson of the Bears and the head coach of the opposing team is yelling at you
again and again, you're a P-word when he would never say that in any circumstance where he wasn't
in the power position of being the coach on a football field to the face of that person.
Wildly insulting for a coach and a position of power for someone to look at a paid professional
who has pride about getting to where he has and is a million times tougher than you
and would drag you out of the stadium.
By your hair, if he were allowed for saying that to his face.
Does anyone object to the weight that Sirianni's position throws behind his ability to say those
words to an NFL player?
Because I think he should apologize.
He should rue his behavior.
And I'm thinking this is just how rage works.
You lose your mind.
But it does tell me something about somebody if they're willing to do that.
And it's not toughness.
Like, it's really disrespectful and not able to control your emotions in a position of power
where you should be able to control your emotions.
It's caveman primitive in a way that's wildly insulting
and should not be accepted by anybody in that league who respects other human beings.
You know, I think it merited an insult.
I think it merited. No, but that insult.
That insult.
I get it.
And I saw him mouth the words.
I know exactly. But I'm being specific about what the insult is.
To be mad, I understand.
To be rage-filled, I understand.
Choosing those words to say to an NFL player who can't retaliate because what happens?
What happens?
Tell me.
If the disrespect is so great that just DeMarco Jackson decides to push Sirianni.
Never mind punch him.
Just push him in the chest.
Because no one says that to me.
No one says that if I'm DeMarco Jackson.
To me, in my life.
But to come from a position of power that is granting Sirianni the right to do that
only because of the position that he's in.
He wouldn't do it under any other circumstances.
It's because he's got the weight of the NFL behind him
and knows that the cameras don't allow someone to react to the disrespect of that insult.
My guess is he will be fined by the league because it was caught on camera and it was so blatant.
But I don't think it's him being rage-filled.
Losing his emotions in the moment.
I think it's cloaked in him knowing he can behave this way because he's pretending.
protected by all the guys next to him and being that he's all the way on the other side of the
field and this player's not going to do anything oh no but wait no but i go a step further than
that he's protected by the entire construct of the system that won't question the words that
he used today this will not be a subject this will not be something it's going to be case keenum
it's going to be are you surprised the eagles are so bad it's going to be wow look what the bears
did with their third string quarterback i don't believe that there will be a lot of conversation
about the language that he used i'm not they might talk about the incident i'm talking about
the specificity of the language that he used to disrespect an opponent it's just wildly
unprofessional it's unbecoming of the position and even a rage absent the rage and in the
subsequent apology even given that i think he has to sort of examine the word choices that he uses
because i don't think he recognizes the power of his privilege in that spot
if he had been pushed i would have been defending i would have been defending something today that
would have been seen as indefensible i would have been defending demarco jackson and demarco
jackson would have been immediately a pariah in within not just the nfl media this would have gone
outside of sports if he had reacted to the disrespect the way that a lot of people would
react to that disrespect with are you sure you want to say that to me when i can get physical
with you you guys tell me i'm going to put the hypothetical
in front of you what is the coverage today if not demarco jackson punches sirianni just simply
pushes him in the chest and the coach falls down falls down on his ass what is the coverage today
it'd be ugly for the player is anyone going to be saying but what about the words that the coach
used like how are you okay disrespecting a professional human being this way yeah i mean
we're waiting for to see how long the suspension is going to be because
i think a player would be suspended for sirianni's not going to be suspended no no no he's saying what
would happen no yeah i'm saying the player who pushes violently an opposing head coach i think
will be suspended no matter what was said you know it's the old sticks and stones thing and and what
i see there is i see a heat of the moment reaction by a head coach who just saw his starting
quarterback in a in a in a dirty hit he could have been injured hirsch could have been injured
there he could have been concussed it was a really dirty hit and it deserved the flag if demarco jackson
had followed the the the dirty hit with pushing pushing the coach he would have lost half a season
i'm not even joking i'm not kidding and it wouldn't have been it wouldn't about hitting the player it
would have been about hitting the coach yeah would have been suspended for sure and i think it was
just a bit unwarranted from sirianni just because that's a bang bang play it's not like the usc
player who was celebrating the the injury of the usc player who was celebrating the injury of the
this was man one step before this would have been a legal hit so i feel like it was totally
unwarranted by big bro nick do you guys think and i know that every time that i go on one of
these screeds i can sort of uh feel and hear the audience uh saying i'm being too sensitive
or i'm overreacting but i've seen too many times in my career that what we're doing is not punishing
the action we're punishing the reaction and in this particular instance we would
be pointing to sirianni waving a lit fuse around the situation he's surrounded by violence it's
all bang bang everywhere these guys are literally fighting over both real estate and money violently
and the coach is on the sideline and he's calling an opposing player to his face the p word and i
just think he's having his players back right really what he's yeah but there are any number
of ways to do that with different language can you imagine if jaylen brown called somebody a p word
oh my goodness the whole world would burn he wouldn't be considered as having his guys back
it would be like that so that's why it's a little bit frustrating to see this different narratives
on these different offenses what kind of coverage is there going to be today on sirianni in general
saying look my emotions got the best of me and i apologize none nothing here this is it but what
and it would have dominated the show if there had been if his escalating of the situation had resulted
in him being pushed and falling down absolutely i'm not even making it especially violent i'm just
saying we're we've now escalated to the kind of language that leads to fights correct like you're
you're not you're not bringing the temperature down on the situation if you're sirianni do you
have a responsibility to i i think uh his apology was warranted and and when he ruse having said what
he said that's that's an apology i think i think that's sufficient i mean again it's it's just a
i think you're putting too much emphasis on the word he chose it's that disrespectful it's there
are a handful of words that you can use that are widely did wildly disrespectful and that's one of
them compare the behavior between the two coaches in extremely similar circumstances
dan landing pretty much stopped what would have been a riot in that usc oregon game and i don't
know if the player that nick sirianni was yelling at even saw him yelling at him but
yeah that situation could have really escalated because the coach i'm going to move on in a second
yes there was an illegal hit a person in a position of authority backing his own guy in a way that we
and anyone would understand and especially in football correct in saying you understand that
as well but the hypothetical we're presenting to you which is that would have escalated very easily
into a brawl of the highest order and
damaging television that would have consumed your newscape for the entire week if just like
sirianni defended hurts the eagles are now defending sirianni because their coach has been
pushed down like and i'm just talking about i'm just talking about how these things escalate
nobody expected the malice in the palace to get where it was and then all of the rules changed
after that for a month the basketball is out of control black players are punching the customers
go ahead and make
it a riot that wasn't necessarily incited by sirianni but would have been escalated absolutely
by sirianni and in it sirianni would have been protected because it would have been about a whole
bunch of things that weren't sirianni's escalation of it i think he has a responsibility in that spot
to both back his player but to do it with language that's not disrespectful it's not that hard it's
not that hard it's not language he'd use with this particular player if it was just them two in a bar
yeah exactly and to add that more to your point can you imagine if josh hines allen would have pushed
the ball boy back from keeping that ball from him this is an entirely different coverage all week
would have been josh hines allen is a bad guy when in fact hey little bro give me the ball man you
just playing watch out so i might be the youngest on the show but i am now in my 30s and i've reached

Clippers with an Achilles that doesn't work.
I don't know how he passed the physical.
I don't know how it is that that trade was allowed to go through
when they're doing a surgery on Brandon Ingram's heel and they
discover that this is not a functioning player, that his
Achilles is snapped, which means he might never be the same
again.
Never mind, might not be the same anytime soon.
Brandon Ingram might never be the same player again.
Here's Kawhi Leonard still asking everyone, can we just move
on?
I think the best.
Decision is to move forward and focus on my time being a
Toronto Raptor.
I already was a distraction for the past 70 days and wasn't able
to meet my teammates, do any of that mini camp stuff with them.
So, you know, moving forward, I just want to, you know, talk
about the Toronto Raptors today.
I did release a statement that you could go back to and look
at.
But yeah, like I said,
I just want to focus on basketball again and, you know,
being a Toronto Raptor.
Here's one of the things that I continue to be amazed about
regarding this story.
One of the biggest sports scandals ever.
Every time I think that that Kawhi Leonard trade can't get
worse because it's already the worst transaction in the history
of sports, then I get the news.
Brandon Ingram doesn't even function correctly.
How in God's name does that trade keep getting worse with
every news item that makes a presentation?
How is Brandon Ingram?
How are the Clippers getting a Brandon Ingram whose body
doesn't work in exchange for one of the best players basketball
has ever seen?
It's truly insane.
I brought the news to a couple of the other media members at
Heat Media Day yesterday and they thought I was messing with
them.
It was like, oh, it turns out that when they did surgery, they
found a partially torn Achilles for Brandon Ingram and they
fully thought I was lying because we were just standing around.
This is like as catastrophic as it could possibly get.
And they're not going to do the thing that, you know, David
Sampson had to do where they sent back, I think it was Colin
Ray as a pitcher because of Tommy John surgery.
No, we just want to wipe our hands of this whole thing.
It's fine.
Give us damaged goods.
It's insane.
What's happening here.
Did they not vet him beforehand?
I'm guessing from what it is that's happening here is that
the Clippers and I am just guessing, okay.
In fact, I need to do this correctly because I'm not putting
anything in the way of actual news behind the scenes.
I'm not putting anything in the way of actual news behind what it is that I'm saying.
Time to throw away all journalistic credibility and get reckless.
Here is something we like to call reckless speculation.
You're good.
I'm guessing that Steve Ballmer went into their doctors and just said,
you're passing him no matter what.
Yeah, that's exactly what happened.
We'll take him regardless.
If he's legally dead, I want you guys to say he's okay.
We're going to physically pass him because I simply want to make sure that he's dead.
I'm going to physically pass him because I simply want to make sure that he's dead.
I simply want the government and everyone off my back.
I want all of this to end.
I will take whatever your terms are.
I don't want anyone to continue writing about this.
Yeah, I mean, it's up to the team if the player passes the physical.
It's the team saying, yeah, we know this is wrong here, but we're good with it.
It's okay. That's exactly what happened.
I believe this is, and again, because I'm good on the reckless speculation,
I believe that Steve Ballmer walked into Brandon Ingram's surgery when they were working on the heel.
Scrubs and all?
Scrubs and all.
And the doctor said, oh my God, his Achilles doesn't work either.
We don't know if he's a functioning basketball player.
And he just said, you're going to pass him in the physical.
I don't want to talk about this anymore.
I don't care how this gets worse and worse and worse.
I just want people to stop talking about this.
How does it get worse in the hypothetical from here than the star player you traded for?
It's not just that Kawhi got an extension and no punishments in Toronto.
And goes back to the team where he won a championship.
It's also that the player you got back in return that would be your Clippers
are going to be some semblance of watchable in the next few months.
I think one of the things that's underreported here in the punishment to this,
when people talk about Steve Ballmer only got $30 million as a fine,
Steve Ballmer just had his customer base crater.
Steve Ballmer just had his customer base crater.
No one's paying for tickets for that team.
Do you know how much that penalty is beyond the $30 million?
They just wrecked their product for five years.
They're willing to take on a broken Brandon Ingram,
so there's no reason to watch that team.
What are you watching out there?
All of those courtside seats the Clippers were trying to get in the Lakers game
of let's have celebrities at our games, we matter.
I, with Kawhi Leonard, a challenge to what the Lakers were.
That penalty is so far beyond $30 million in terms of what it costs Ballmer
because it wrecks his product.
Like, somebody tell me, is it Garland?
Like, who are you watching for that team?
Nicholas Batum just retired!
Like, who on the Clippers is going to be somebody that pays Los Angeles pricing
for courtside seats to watch the Clippers?
All that's going to dry up.
Max Strews.
Strews is loose, Dan.
You don't want to see that guy with his flowing locks hitting threes?
I think it's being underreported the cost of this penalty to Steve Ballmer
because people say it's only $30 million
as if it doesn't crater his business.
Did you see what Rui Hachimori had to say yesterday?
He says on why he joined the Clippers,
He says on why he joined the Clippers,
"One thing everyone says about the Clippers
is how well they take care of their players."
is how well they take care of their players."
I heard that too!
I heard that too!
Let's hear from Steph Curry.
I thought that it was surprising
that Steph Curry was surprised
that he is being doubted
because they've fallen behind
and now he's on an old basketball team.
Steve was saying that he kind of likes
that no one expects you guys to make the playoffs
and that there's a little bit of freedom
and that there's a little bit of freedom
to flying under the radar.
That's how bad it is to make the playoffs?
From championship to. I'm just wondering what you think about that.
Do you feel the freedom?
That's what I think about that.
Damn!
Sorry, that wasn't to you.
That was to the situation.
I like the quick little apology there.
That wasn't to you.
I'm just walking away to make a statement.
Leave him laughing.
He's remembering everything that happened with Holly Rowe there
and he's got to be careful.
I will do an interview if you need.
He wouldn't have been that nice
if it had been a man asking that question.
Just walk out of the room.
He didn't want the bad publicity.
Just in case, not because you're a woman.
That's because you said I'm not making the playoffs.
I just want that clear as I walk away.
They have missed the playoffs three of the last four years, though.
There's that.
I'm curious
as to how that's going to end for him
in Golden State because
if I had to bet, I'm going to bet
it doesn't end in Golden State
even though they've all said the correct things.
We were talking earlier in the show about Bobrovsky
and what it is that he's earned
with two championships in Florida
and the answer was not much.
All of you were like, see you later.
See you later, Bob.
Thank you. We'll say it as quick as possible.
New goalie, younger goalie, don't care that you're gone.
Steph Curry's allegiance to that city,
that city's allegiance to Steph Curry.
How's that end?
Because I don't have a lot of examples
of any of that ending well.
I think he's a lifer there.
I really do.
He defined the three-point shot.
He owns it.
So all of you would guess that
he ends his career there,
that he finishes there and just not making
the playoffs the next couple of years
because the team's not good enough
and they also ran
the youngest teams in the league have passed them.
Yes, and it's also
it's not like he's Reggie Miller
where he's never won a championship.
He's won four.
So you guys can't foresee
a circumstance under which
any of these main players
late in the season
tempts Steph Curry
because he gets to play meaningful games
and he wants to play meaningful games.
He doesn't want to play out the string
being a league bottom feeder.
If he hadn't signed a two-year extension,
I would totally anticipate it.
I thought going into this season
that his upcoming free agency
would be one of the major storylines
as we headed toward the trade deadline
because you would see teams
or have other teams take on the Jimmy Butler contract
as all of that was going on.
But now that he signed the two-year extension,
it makes it seem like, at least for now,
his goal is to play this out,
hope that he can ride it out
with some other veterans around him
to make some sort of run.
But this feels like a Dirk Nowitzki situation.
To your point about the Clippers,
won't this keep Warriors fans attending the games?
Yes, it will, but at some point
you have to move on with your future.
And what it is that Jeremy
me just said there i thought the most interesting phrase was at least for now those extensions don't
mean anything a year from now if you're losing like he'll just get his way out of there because
he wants to play meaningful games like i i don't think that people properly understand what it has
been to be steph curry over the 10 years of basketball where he's trying to take lebron
james's place in the sport when steph curry wanders around the globe he does so as a singular
star presence that isn't about the warriors it's about steph curry redefined shooting
he is an international global icon for being the small guy who's able to dominate that sport he is
a rock star every single city he goes to it is an event when he goes there it's wildly dissipated
now.
And he's going to miss it he's going to miss being the center of attention because he's playing
in the most meaningful games it's going to be a hollowed out existence where he's going to be
feeling his age and he's entitled to not want to languish he's entitled to want to play meaningful
games that golden state will not be able to provide him if not for his presence in them it's the only
way golden state can provide those meaningful games is the fact that steph's the one playing
in them yeah i just think after such a career that he's had i don't think he's chasing anything
he's got nothing to prove he's he's not chasing the the the elusive ring he's already got plenty
of those i think he can just go out and and and his legacy is intact i don't think he has to do
anything else or win anymore if he wants to slide the last couple of years of his career
with a bad team i don't think that but why would he want to do it that way i'm asking you guys
you guys think he'd be able to do it that way i'm asking you guys i'm asking you guys i'm asking you
prefer the punctuation just being in golden state to playing meaningful games for the last two years
of his career i think we're overestimating the assness of the golden state warriors like they
still have that one thing that you need a heart of a champion up and down that roster so i think
that we may be a little early and i don't think this is the thing that that represents his tombstone
well but hold on how many champion hearts are still on that team is it just curry from 22
no it's draymond and draymond so two right uh it's but it's never mind championship heart
what's happened look man this is a bigger stronger faster ecosystem the teams at the top of your
conference are so much younger and so much deeper than you and have created an impossible gulf to
overcome like it's not they're not close to the warriors they're not close to the thunder and
spurs they're a million miles from the thunder and spurs they don't have a real championship
chance and i just think that if you're steph curry you're going to miss playing in the most
meaningful games it's been it's been four years since they played at the height of the cauldron
the way that they were playing but you know what he's also gonna miss that ring chaser conversation
that's gonna just jump on him and pounce on him as soon as he decides to go oh i don't think people
like that not to him
he won four he won four he won two before durant got there he just he's a darling in the meat i
don't think anyone would treat him that way okay i think uh i i really do think that people are
being silly if they don't think it's a possibility that steph six months from now decides that he
misses championship basketball and is tired of playing meaningless basketball games but he's
been losing for a little bit now why did he sign a two-year extension because you've got to get
your money where it is like instead of making the men's
he's guaranteed his money no matter where it is he did what kawai just did signed for two years
and may it'll probably be in toronto but you get the two years he did what jimmy butler wanted to
do down here guarantee me the two years it doesn't matter i want to be paid 37 38 39 years old i want
to get my money no matter where it is and we're also forgetting that he did one thing that no one
else has done take a look at chris cody's shirt he saved the world before after you say the world
i'm pretty sure superman is cool watching tv eating bonbons put it on the poll at levitard show
after saving the world is superman okay uh watching tv and eating bonbons and get the
polls from yesterday too juju nobody was updating the polls yesterday when i had a handful of them
from yesterday that fell through the cracks that i want to get to in the post game are you about
to cough greg no nobody tony you know that moment at a party or a tailgate where everything
just sort of clicks i know it well it's usually when i show up everybody goes crazy yeah you
usually take all the credit for it but it's because tony usually walks in with queer walking
like this yeah yeah yeah cuervo is a thing that turns hanging out into this is the night it has
that effect on people it does you usually take the credit for it but again it's the cuervo effect
it's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up
hooting and hollering keep it cuervo keep it cuervo baby
