Magic Mike Road Trip, Meg 'Cheat Code' Lanning & Please Stop Adding Alex On Facebook

In this episode of No Vols, hosts Alex Hartley and K-Cross podcast from Taunton before the final T20 between England and India. Hartley has lost her voice after a busy few days that included attending a Magic Mike show, which she found disappointing due to a lack of nudity, and playing in a golf tournament. They discuss England women's cricket ahead of the World Cup, noting that the team seems unsettled with constant changes in lineup, especially with injuries to key players like Nat Sciver-Brunt. They argue England should stick with a consistent XI to build confidence. New Zealand's team is also struggling, with confusion over roles for players like Suzie Bates and the dropping of Georgia Plimmer after two golden ducks, which they feel could harm her confidence. The hosts also critique the new kit launch video for The 100 tournament, which was created using AI. They point out numerous errors, such as Jos Buttler wicketkeeping in batting gloves and Sophie Eccleston celebrating a century. They call the video lazy and damaging to the tournament's brand, arguing that with the money invested, teams should produce better content. The episode ends with a discussion of domestic cricket's relentless schedule and a call for podcast sponsors.

Hello and welcome back to No Vols, the Griggy podcast with me, Alex Hartley, and it does not sound like K-Cross, but I promise you all it is K-Cross. It is me. Hartley? What's happened? Oh, I lost my voice. Oh, well, I'm very, very aware of that. Um, how why when and who? It was the, it wasn't Sunday night. It was the lead into Sunday night. I had a sore throat playing cricket and then we went and had a fun time didn't we? And then I woke up the next day and had no voice and now it's podcast day, commentary day, no voice day. Yeah, it's not really ideal. No, I do. But should we set the sea? Yeah, go on. You have no voice for you. Well, what are you talking about? I can't go. I can't go that low. Busky. Can't go that low. We're at a time that no, we're hit. We are in tauntin together. We are. We're together. Um, at the ground because we were at the hotel, but we had podcast difficulties, shock, shambles podcast. So we've come to the ground and we're watching them prepare the picture and stuff for the international game this afternoon. Yes. So it's the final T20 tonight. Indeed, as is England. Well, probably England versus India, actually, because England and the whole team. Um, so there's a guy going some grass on the right. There's some guy calling my grass. Some I grass. It's putting your grass. Some guy cutting the grass on my left. And some guy rolling a pitch. Yeah, I mean, I don't think I've ever been to a cricket ground this early, even as a player, a lot of commentator. Um, right. I want to talk about you losing your voice though, across it. Yes, sorry. Because, um, the fans want to hear about it, but we had a time. We had a time, didn't we? We, we, we've been on a little road trip together actually last three days. Yeah. But we went to, drum roll. Magic mic. Yeah, and you've lost your voice because you were shatting streaming like middle-aged woman, not junky. True. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, um, yeah, we went basically to watch 20 men strip. So you won, you didn't win. You bought a raffle prize at the Ruth Strauss Foundation day that we got to up here. The rock for Ruth Day. And you were, I'd been poorly had enough. So I was actually vomiting during the day and had to leave. Didn't go to the evening. A new text saying, don't worry. I've got something that'll cheer you up. It's 40. It's a magic mic. Yeah. And I was like, okay. And we never ever follow up on these. Raffle prizes that we bought that we bought that we buy. But we did. We followed up. And we spent all week together. It was great. It was great. It was fun. Now I was like, you weren't that impressed. No, I'd give it a six out of ten. You said if I had to pay for a ticket, I wouldn't go again. But you actually paid a lot of money for those tickets. Really? That's why. No, we had a nice meal. We had a great meal. So yeah, look, I thought, I thought the men would be more naked. I can't lie. One man got naked. But he covered his toucher. He had his heart over his willy. Yeah. And then that was here. It was all boxes and priests from then on. I was actually disappointed. Because the stuff you see online from LA, it's like full naked, grinding people on stage, being thrown. It wasn't any of that. So I was a bit disappointed. You sat on a piano though. I sat on a piano. I got really excited because so we went with Hen, Siebe, Meen, you, and all of the others. I was the one that was more likely to get a dance. We'll be willing to get that. Well, we put you on the end for a dance. So you put me on the end. And the guy comes up and he's like, this table is part of the show. We actually changes into a piano. So we're like, right, we're in. This is gonna be amazing. They come along and he's like, "Well, you sit on the piano." I was like, "Well, you're done. And then he just serenaded me on the piano." Yeah. It was really disappointing. I've actually got, we've got the video evidence for the podcast. But you sat awkwardly. I've got a six minute video. Have you just sat on a piano as magic-like played you or so? You did film me from like right, bungee, angle. It was the worst. Because I was waiting for you to pull you flat and get on top of you. I didn't happen. No, I just had a nice song. Yeah. Anyway, that's enough about magic. It was good fun, though, wasn't it? And the meal before was pretty thussy. Yeah, it was. We ordered, because you had money to spend there. We had like a five and a pound voucher. So we were like, "Fuck you, let's just buy the most expensive steak on the menu." So we all got steak, bar-head, vegetarian, got sea bass, so whatever. All got like the most expensive steak, loads of sides, loads of starters. Got the bill at the end. Two bottles of Prosecco, seven pound faulty. It was amazing. And the hem was like, "I'll care they're still working." I was like, "I'm just gonna buy all that. I'm not getting this one." No, you paid for the evening. So yeah, good fun. Lost my voice. Probably a little bit dignity along the way as well. Yeah, but fun was hard. Good fun. And then we played golf yesterday in the PCA annual England Golf. Oh, yeah, I feel about that. That's why we've been together. Yeah, I actually fully forgot about that. So so hungry yesterday. You were struggling. Yeah. Right. We've actually together, which feels weird, as in we're not in a studio. We've made our own studio. Yeah, we've, yeah. So it was going to be the primary in Taunton and. Hold it. Primary? Primary. Primary. If they want to sponsor us, they can just have better meeting rooms. Yeah, there was no. The one where I was like, "We don't have conference rooms." We're like, "No, we don't need a conference room." We're not. We need a light. We just need lights on, yeah. Um, are you able to hang on your sick, you know? Or anything else for me? Well, if you can up too. No, nothing. Work. When did we last podcast? We just loads of work. We've podcasted weeks ago. Oh, New Zealand series. Yeah. I'm back in the work grind. You are. I'm honest with you. I have not been home again now for 10 days. Yeah. Obviously on my day off, I went to watch more cricket. Yeah. And on you morning off, we were at a cricket ground. Yeah. So yeah, I did the New Zealand series. ODIs, 3T20s. I've done two of these T20s. How did they see? They were all right. They were all right. And then obviously lost one of the T20s. The ODIs are not filled count. Yeah. And the one of the T20s was rain. I didn't know they had that. Yeah. Yeah, it felt like a strange series from the outside. Yeah. It was probably a good war, what lead into the NBA series. I thought, you know, playing a weaker opposition before you play. Even though they're defending. Even though they are defending counts, I know, I know, I know. Leading into the NBA series. I don't feel like we learned an awful lot. I felt like I still don't think England know their best. No, I know that's been taught about quite a lot in the news. It's not new news. But I thought these 6T20s leading in plus they've actually got to warm against before the World Cup stars. But I thought it would be like, this is my 11. I'm going to give that 11 as much game time as possible. But there's so much chopping and changing with the team. Yeah, I thought that they would like be the same. Like let Lauren Bell and Lindsay Smith bowl together, leading into the World Cup, but Lindsay got rested. Nassau's worked really well on it. Loved his coach. I thought he spoke so well about that. Yeah, I did. And I, yeah, I don't think they know their best. I think I know mine. Yeah, well, we went through it. In a way, we had a little chat how we'd have. I think our team's pretty similar. But to be fair, I don't know. If you want headaches to this stage or if you're a lot of users want to know that I'm going to have this is my best 11. If X gets injured, why comes in? If the bag goes down, she comes in. I think that's why we don't know the best 11 because Nass not fit. Yeah, it's hard. I think it's pretty straightforward. If there's no night's, the team they played for the second T20 against India. Yep, okay. But if Nass is fit, then you can't play dunks, capsi and Heather all at the same time. Yeah. So that's where that's when you headache is. And then obviously the bowl is like, "File is not played again." Yeah. Belly, he plays every game for me. She's the best. No, D&E and an extra spinner. There was no Sophie Eccleston for one of the games. They played Tilly Colton and Coleman. Lindsay Smith. For me, Sophie and Tilly are two similar Ebola. They've got the height. They probably try to spin it more. Whereas I feel like Lindsay's always in my 11 because she's a different option. So it'll be interesting to see what the team is tonight. Yes. Because this is the last game of the series. And by the way, we're doing something a little bit different. Now we're going to do, we're doing pretty much podcast now. And then we're going to do a postmatch one to round up the series. So we can talk about all of that later out. Yeah, that's what I was about to do. I think we should do, say, for India cricket chat for post series. You make a really pick into it. So New Zealand cricket chat, did you learn anything from about New Zealand? Yeah, they're fucked to that selfie divine. Yeah, ball. So, see, see, bass. Doesn't really finity in modern. No, she's got a strange role, hasn't she? She batting nine and didn't ball in the first game, but it was in his ball in all round. I just pulled the one over. Second game, she wasn't selected. Third game, she opened the bind. That's a confused thing. Yeah, I think they are really, really confused. I mean, I don't think they're settled. And it feels weird because they should be more settled than they were when they want to woke up. They've had so much cricket leading into this woke up that I feel like they should be settled. But the fact they dropped Georgia Climmer on the back of two Golden Ducks. Because she was low on confidence. Well, she's going to be even lower on confidence now. As that's always the question, isn't it? Like, how many more games do you give players to have a chance? But then if you drop them, they're confident and completely goes. But you might have to play Georgia Climmer in a woke up. So just let her, I always feel like this close to a series or a woke up. You just say to players, you've got the opportunity to go and do it. Yeah. Go on, be free. Because is there anyone better than Georgia Climmer? So on that bench? No. Exactly. So you've got to find a way of getting her into the war before the woke up. We've had some interesting results around the world in Alaska for the days. We have. Island beat Pakistan. Yeah. And the West Indies. But you were talking to me, I've not seen any of this cricket, but you were talking to me about the West Indies are opening the pack with TD. And, and I'm hoping I'll see you in the season. You said it's absolute gay. Here's a sip of cottage. It's a cottage. So good. It is. So good to have both of them, it's off of the order. And then you obviously got Chanel Henry now that's in great form coming in the middle. - I'm confident. - Confident, coming in the middle, playing franchise cricket. So honestly, I cannot wait for them because Western needs for me have always been a team that will be like 60 all out or 260. But it feels like they're just gonna destroy every power play. - Yeah. It's our video went out about a farewell post-ordidness. And we had a few comments on that saying that we've been retiring people. And we've not been retiring people. It's just who we think could retire at the welcome. - Yeah, we're gonna say, "Wait, the moment, bye-bye." - Yeah, well, open top of the store. But please don't be offended by that. - No, and especially the players. - Oops. - All right. - And what have you been up to? - Well, probably I've been to playing a lot of cricket. A lot of cricket. - What did you say to be yesterday playing domestic cricket is more relentless than playing international cricket? - It's way harder. It's so much harder than international cricket. It just doesn't stop. We've got a week between games. And I've been given two days off, which is why we're playing golf, doing magic right, coming down here to get some commentary. I'm back in Drayton and nine AM tomorrow. - Yeah, that's relentless. - That's relentless. - Yeah, it's relentless. But we've struggled a bit as a length unit actually. But we do have mega planning in the team. - That's on my stick, you know. You've got a cheek code. - She is a cheek code. - Like a genuine cheek. She must find it so easy. So she got a duck on Sunday at Chelmsford. And I was so excited to see her about Chelmsford because if everyone remembers the Meg Massager, she got 133 of 64 holes when we played in the Ashes Day. And there in 2019, I think. - Yeah. - And I was just talking, I grew up saying you love this ground. This is your ground, Meg. I have nightmares about this ground because of you. She got duck. - Yeah. - And it was my fault. - That was your fault. And I did say to her, she actually hadn't been out in the tournament yet because she was given out a Surrey in the opener. But it was quite feasible for the Paula Bounce. And the field was like, oh, I don't know. And the imposter said throughout. And there's no T.R.S obviously. And a lot of you just turned up. - Oh, that's it. That's an early call for you. - See, this is good for us. Having Charlotte Edwards turn up. I wonder what she's got. - And lastly, Williams, the assistant coach. - He's an. - I don't have an look at the pit. - He's in his casuals. - It did rain really heavily yesterday. So I wonder if they'd add a look at the pit chat. - Yes, they all were just having a little gander out there. - No, no, no, no. - So yeah, she was given out when it probably wasn't out if there was a way of going upstairs to look at the footage. And so I said, you've not actually been out yet. And then third, for the innings straight down, I like to throw out. - And that was out. - It was out. She's such a cheekhead. You're right. She's crazy. - Every time I watch your scores, everyone else is like 10 and out, 20 and out. Lani's like 40, 40 red. So good. She could easily still dominate international career. I know she doesn't want to, but she is that good. - Yeah, she's a freak. - And it really does show. - When are you gonna ask her to get on the podcast? - I'm tumbling my time. - I don't wanna do too soon. And then the rest of our time together be awkward. - Yeah, you also don't miss the boat. - I won't, don't worry. - Okay. - I've forgotten what I was gonna say now. Is she very good at cricket? Does she call playing international cricket still if she wants to? - Yeah. That's how I catch up. Oh, how many games have you won a loss? - We're one from three in the blast. One from four in the blast, actually. But we've played two of the best teams. But we lost two Essex on Sunday, which would have been a great game to have won. - Yeah. - But also now, if you think about the blast, everyone disappears off into World Cup, so teams are gonna-- - Oh, really? - Yeah. - Yeah, even ours. - Yeah, we've lost Elcelista, Darcy Cartran, not that so's played in the blast yet, but you know, if she was a bit, we would have had her. So we're not as affected as other teams, but it'll be interesting to see how it goes now. But it's been a great start, 'cause it's the first time that we've done blast with the men. - Yeah. - So it's been a great start. - But relentless. - Relentless. So much traveling. It's crazy. We've got, it's later on in the year, but we've got a game where we play York, sure away at York, and we've got Day Off, and we play Durham away at Durham. And we've got Day Off, and then we've got Hamish or away at Hamish or-- - Oh, good. - So we've got three games in five days, and they're at opposite ends of the country. - Yeah, that's crazy. - How you get installed? - I hope him for a little. - I'm playing well, yeah. - Well, hopefully. - The Rhine, I've got Rhine and then we should all hook you up. - Nice. Do they want to sponsor us? Guys, we're after sponsors if anyone's not. - This week's sponsor, speaking of? - Yes. - Nibbade. - Never thank you, Nibbade. - Help the two of us on Nibbade. Thank you for putting money. - No, but we're after some sponsorships, so anyone wants to sponsor the shambles. - Yeah. - You'll sound better next week. - I'll sound great. - Right, you're sticking out, can I say? - I stick, you know. I've got three things in and I'm by sticking out. - Denuing actual note pattern paper this week. - It's a present that Anna Harris gave me. No book with Hawkeye on it. She's had a problem, how many people have it? So it's now the official book of the book. - Yeah, okay. - Yeah, well, how I talk about the new 100 kit has been launched. - Yep, yep. - And Manchester Super Giants have launched his video and it is Purely AI. - Except for they've got some of their own footage where Manchester is looking for you. - It could be AI though. - It also could be wrong actually 'cause this poll matrolling along on the matrolling. - Yeah. - Here's his meodrain. And this video is probably the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. - I thought Toby from the cricket district did an unbelievable tweet about it. Being like, you are putting off so many creators. You are driving away the fans that you're actually trying to get into the cricket. And also, have you seen how bad it is? - There's so many bits that are not only hilarious, but at the same time really embarrassing for the gay. - Just butler is wicket-keeping in batting pads and batting gloves. - Batting gloves catch is a ball with bang gloves on. Sophie Eccleston celebrating scoring 100th. I don't get me wrong if that happens. That's amazing. He's probably not good at playing. Might be smritting him, might be meag. Might be the two cheekers of that team up. The other one, there's three batters batting at one point in the game. - And the ball is ball into the wrong end? - Balls point to the wrong end. The wicket keeper and slip are in white as well as one of the batters. Two of the batters are in the right kit, but one of them's halfway down just stood there. It's shocking. And actually, I think it's really, I think it's taken the 100 backwards a step in a way. I know what you mean. All the money that has been pumped into these teams and all the owners that have all this money, do it, just do it better. - Who's sign off? Who's watched that and gone? That's the launch video. Let's get out. - 'Cause they're also trying to bring together Manchester City and Manchester United, apparently, with the kit being blue and red. - Yeah. - It's a different blue to Manchester City's blue anyway. - It's just, it is a bit of a bug pair of mine. I see that. the AI stuff on the player photos because you have access to the players, so used to take photos of them in the kit. But I just think this is really lazy. Yeah. It's easy to do the AI thing. I thought the players themselves looked similar, so Meg looked like Meg, just looked like Joss, so looked like Silver, but everything else around it was wrong. It's just weird and I just think, I also think like, the look of the 100 now, I saw someone tweet, they said say, "I can't take credit for it." And I can't remember who tweeted it, but someone said the new kits, that they're very franchise-based kits now, whereas when the 100 started, it was all about, how do we get kids to have these kits on? Like how do we get them to want to buy bright colours, different colours? Everyone's blood. They're all the same. Everyone's blood. There's only the trend rockies kit in my opinion, that looks anything similar to last year, but you would recognise as that being the team that you support last year. But I also just think, if you can try and pump money into a tournament, which I think is one of the better franchises at domestic franchises around the world, make that money make the tournament better. Don't take it backwards to STEM. - No, I agree. - I actually agree. - So as funny as the, please go and watch this video that Manchester City resigns tweeted, 'cause it is so, so, so bad, but you'll find so many funny bits about it. - Is it on Instagram as well? Most big. - Yeah, it must be on Instagram. - So, yeah. - Go and check it out. We've just slated it. I reckon we can clip it up, put it together, and it's just so bad. So bad. - So bad. - Okay, and you again, on me? - You. - Can people please, please stop adding me on Facebook? - Okay. - It's private. There's four people on my Facebook. You're not even on it. - I didn't even know Facebook was still a thing. - Could you stop adding me on Facebook, please? - That's Java for me. - Yeah, well, I've deleted my showroom, people still try and follow me on it. - That's weird. - Yeah. - What do people gain from being your friend on Facebook? - I don't know. And also, like, my Facebook is so that I can purely ask my management company if you can come and park. If there's a spare parking space, that's why I have Facebook. - Yeah, that is why I have Facebook. - I don't have, my mom and dad aren't on there. My grandson's not on there. Nobody. - Okay. Stop adding Alex on Facebook, then. - Please, it's so 2010. - Well, we're asking people to stop doing things. What they could do instead of adding you on Facebook, is go on to ask Spotify and go on to our Apple podcasts. - And write us a review. - Yeah. - Because we need some reviews and we need some comments and likes and hopefully five star reviews. If you've got a review, email the podcast, we'll deal with that. - Yeah, we went through them this morning, didn't we? And there's some really lovely, nice ones. - I love the thing on Spotify at the minute. Well, I don't know, Spotify, but I went on. I you can actually comment on the podcast episode itself. - Yes, really. - Rather than on those as a whole. So that's cute. Apple podcast. We've got 50 reviews, sparse favourable, like 300, 400. I'm loving how interactive people have been with our Instagram as well. I feel as though we can loads of comments on our entire videos. Not what's like. Nice. Yeah, I've got two other things on my stick. In fact, this is going back to Magic Mike, to Enzoge River. Yeah. So whilst we were at Magic Mike, you got a slow dance with one of the dancers didn't you? Yeah, and I was so nervous. We all had to stand up and dance with someone that we were with. So I mean, you're having a slow dance, twirling into the round, and then one of them comes shuffling in, moves me out the way, because obviously I was on the piano side, like, hope. And you just look so well, could slow dancing with that. So do you want me to tell you the conversation? Yeah. So who was slow dancing, and he like puts his arms around me, and he whispers in my hair, what's he on in? And I'm like, Alex? And he goes, "Hi, Alex, I'm Miles." And I was like, "Hi, Miles, nice to meet you. My friends are on, and then I didn't say hi, Miles, nice to meet you. My friends are on, I said cheers, Niles. My friends over there got to go, bye." Niles. Niles, and he just went, "It's Miles, and whisk me off." Oh no. Who when did I become that person that is so awkward around other men? I'm like, what is wrong with them? Yeah, I remember Brendan Colestowns with you at Roost Fowl. Yeah, and that really awkward. But I did love that. You did say you found it all. Maybe it's the dance in "Not the Men." Yeah, yeah. And then actually, I was really horrible and said, "It's really funny, all the dancers are picking the least attractive girls in this room." And you said about it said, "You got picked out first." So I just out in my stomach. Yeah. Yeah, it does happen. Yeah, it does. So yeah, that was on my stick as well. I've got another one, which I've done a lot of time here, by the way. Trains can't do a crossy. Bad. Oh my word. This is coming from the woman who told me that I was better trained. I get to a train station earlier than I get to the airport for a flight. Why? I get so anxious. Well, then it's, you need 12 minutes at train station max. But what if. I don't know why. Never going to come early. Does it not? Never. They never leave early. Yeah, so I had to do four changes the other day. From. You've been on the train because you ran the shoelace express honey. Yeah. Got no car this time. Yeah. So yeah, that's it. Trains, trust me out. So if anyone's got any tips about trains, please help. Okay. If anyone wants from a train company wants to sponsor the podcast. Yeah, please. Because I've got a train economy. It'd be nice to go sit in the first class. Happy New Year. The last thing I'm going to stick in out is I want to get your opinion on England, cricket, coming in a collaboration slash sponsorship with Calaway Gold. Ah, you're joking me, aren't you? No, of course you are. Of course they do. Is it not really bad timing before the summer starts? It feels close to being bad timing, but I was thinking about this and I was trying to work out my opinion. Obviously it's cool. Really cool. So you can go and get branded, ECP golf balls and towels and stuff. I don't want them. I personally wouldn't. Some people might. Three golf balls I'd take. Some people might. But I was thinking, if not gone to Paddle to get a sponsorship, if not gone to tennis to get a sponsorship public, no, they've got to go because they all play golf. Yeah. He just fairly made pilaf when I saw it. I've got a couple of other things. Not close. I know, this is the podcast I've planned in it. You keep working up with an old lady injury at the minute. An injury? An injured? Well, just really how your body has adapted and changed since you've playing cricket multiple times a week. Well, you asked me yesterday in the car journey, how my back is because obviously going into last summer, I had recovery from the back injury. So I said, yeah, my back's fine. But I'm noticed when I get out of bed in the morning, things just hurt my knees. What you actually said was, I keep getting stiff knees. There'll be people out there no exactly what I'm talking about. Yeah, maybe. It's just like around the joints, things are just stiffening up quicker. Yeah. Right. So I blast off my three and then we can do some questions. Tim David, throwing ice towards an umpire band cover. Oh, my word. I mean, I've not seen the actual video of him throwing ice towards the umpire, but in the 10th over, he gets given out. He goes off the field and was he some ice? I don't understand. So if you're given out and you run the side of the pitch, at what point do you think I will throw some ice a member of staff those on the pitch? No, no, no. I think it must have been the umpire on the boundary. Do you know how there's always a fourth umpire? Oh, I'm guessing. I'm guessing. That's what I'm guessing. Um, and I'm not e-amitted to it. So that's why I suppose. There'll be a video for it, but yeah, odd. Yeah. Yo, I'm not seeing the incident. I can't. It's probably really made me laugh. Ice, better ice and ice hurt. She went high to her and I knew you. That is what gave me a lump on the head of a concussion. Um, RCB won the IPL. They did. Congratulations. Well done, RCB. My hand's still so sore. I was out from when you did. Yeah. Um, well done. RCB back to back. Back to back. So having not won a trophy for 18 years, they now have two female trophies and two male trophies in the space of five years. Yeah. Phil Salt was won in 24, 25 and 26. He's going to be minted. I was like, in my gym, not prize fund. Oh my god. But we, oh, we didn't get prize money. But we got, so we got watches. Yeah. So playing. Which was called also if you got to the final, you got watched. So. I'll. Daily capital score watch as well. Um, stars and renegades are merging. Yes. Which I saw this morning, which I think is rogue. Feels like I was more cry for help, doesn't it? There's obviously something somewhere. Financially, that means that they're going to be better as a one-melb and seen. I have seen it all about the big bash, but I presume it's the WBBL as well. Yeah, I don't know. Has to be sure. Surely has to be. The one thing that's on my mind about it all is obviously that the wounds get affected by it. The pitches are awful that the renegades play out. They play at the marvel. It's not great to play out of town as well. So they're going to play at the MCG. It's going to be the Melbourne something. They don't know. Maybe we should name them. The Melbourne. Can you put renegades and stars together? Renaissance. That's terrible. That is to maybe just the Melbourne something, then. Yeah. Uh, they like how you called them, the England. The England, yeah. The Melbourne. The Melbourne. The Melbourne. Um, yeah. So now I've lost my train of thought. Sorry, you said there can be two teams on name. No, one name. Yeah. I don't know. A bit of pitches about pitches about. Yeah, that was before I actually. Oh, that is it. That's almost sticking out. So I just look. They introduced not last year the A before. The Derby. The Melbourne Derby during the Big Bash. So it was renegades versus stars. And they played for this big, massive, light up trophy. They've had it for 18 months. And that's going to be gone. That's going to be gone. What happens to the Mace? And the stars are officially the only team ever and the Big Bash never to win a trophy. Maybe that's why that's why the merchant. That's why. Maybe we need to ask Glenn what's going on. Yeah, should we get him on this? Yeah, maybe we'll try. Uh, last one on my sticky note. Really sorry. They are trialing pink ball, pink balls in red ball test matches. Drawing the light gets bad. The ICC have a worry way. So you're going to swap from a red ball to a pink ball mid-key. When the light gets bad, the ICC have approved that. I knew you didn't know about this. Oh, what on earth is this? I knew you didn't know about it. So England have said they won't be doing it during this summer. Good. Yeah. Um, but the ICC. I'm mad. ICC have sanctioned being able to trial, changing a pink, a red ball. It's a pink ball. Not. What? No. No. Not a good ball. Bad. Bad. The only time in a pink ball test match when anything fun happens is when the lights come on and the pink ball hoops. Yeah. So imagine if you've packed it all day and you like, four hundredth or two and then the lights come on and you just get a pink ball all day. You'd be all out for four hundred and six. I know, like, yeah. But it means that the fans aren't missing out on cricket for unprecedented bad lights. Oh, that's part of the game. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know how I feel about it. No, I don't know how I feel about it at all. Not. I'm not familiar with that. That's that. That's all I've got more sticking out. That was actually. Vicks sticking out. Yeah, I know. Sorry about that. 29 minutes worth. Shall we do some questions? I think we should. Some emails because we've got a new email. Hello, a nobhazpod.com. It's so good. It's so good. And it's twice. Please email us. We've had loads of them. Right. Gary. Hi, Kate and Alex. I was listening to you talking about who might be on the retirement bus after this World Cup. I wondered if the Olympics in 2028 would influence anybody. The chance to be an Olympian and even a medalist to put alongside the lights of Laura Kennedy, Maddie Hinch, Kelly Holmes. Yeah. It's a really good point actually. I don't think we took that into consideration when we. When we thought about this for the time at bus, put 28s not that far away. But this is the problem. Nothing is ever that far away now. The next T20 World Cup is only two years away. And that's probably. Is that similar year to the Olympics? But Perry. The only thing Perry hasn't got is an Olympic medal. But she could probably go and play it doing it in a different sport. Because she's that good at everything. She could probably just go and pick up. I don't know what they do. Fencing. And do. And get a gold medal for Australia. Break dancing. She could go and do break dancing with them. Taking it out. Yeah, it is a fair point. And again, I didn't consider the Olympics. But I still think we'll be a fair few on our bus. Okay, this is from. I thought it said itchy 2005, but it says lichy 2005. Oh, we're not itchy, Lichy. Have you got an underdog team for the war cup? Scotland. Good. Yeah. It's one of seven favourites second team. Yeah, Scotland. I think they're a really good team actually. And they've got a good chance of getting through to the groups, the semi-final stage. Yeah. No, I don't think they will. I think, you know, the West Indies. If they're playing the way they have been, I know they've just lost to Ireland, but just DLSS don't count. Yeah, I think England, West Indies, New Zealand, then Scotland would be my four to go through. I, yeah, fair enough. I have things Scotland over West Indies, but yeah. Oh, I see. Right, we've got one from Deborah. Con and Deb. Hi, Kate and Alex. So good to have you back. I'm a listener from Australia. I'm also a regular streamer of your cricket summer. I'm currently watching the Blast matches and I'm supporting Lancashire. So please that Meg Lang is there this year and yourself. Good Kate. And your good self-cates. Good Kate. Good Kate. Good Kate. Okay. Can I ask your opinions, please, of the commentary of the streaming? Is it me who finds it infuriating when the commentators usually male commentators refer to the players as girls, girls in a team or girls, often in the same sentence as referring to the men's side or the men's team? And what ironically, when wondering why the crowds aren't in early to watch the girls in the first game of the double header, in my view, it diminishes and somewhat infantilises the women's players. Am I just a cranky middle-aged woman or should I be happy that the girls are streamed or televised at all? First of all, I think the streaming is excellent. I think that's something we do very, very well here in England. I have never been fussed about being called girls. No, I mean either. Like, I actually, I call you lot girls. But I think from an outside point of view, like if I would never refer to the lionesses as a girls team, I would always refer to them as England women football. Would you? No, I would. I wouldn't call them the girls, but I don't know whether it's because I'm in the environment where, and it's like, well, we are a girls team. Yeah, I've never been offended by it. And I would say that the England girls play in tonight. I'd also say, like, she boys. Yeah. That's what God called the lads the boys. So I think this is something that people outside of our environments find more offensive than the people in it. Yeah. Like Harry Brook was doing a good look video for the BCA yesterday at the Coff Day, and I was just listening to it. And he's like, good luck girls. So I've like, why didn't you walk? I was like, can't call those girls. Can't call anyone girls Harry. And he's like, oh, I kind of know. And then these next times I shall call you guys instead. And so I was like, yeah, that's fine. So as I, I guys, it's Harry Brook here. And I bet people were coming on that. Yeah, probably, probably. Okay. We've had three messages from Haastron Instagram. So I really think they want us to answer this. So was Ash Gardner more deserving for captains? He considered Sophie's injury record. She's brilliant. And the rest of that three times. I don't know. I don't know my opinion on it. I was very, we've spoken about it, haven't we? I was very surprised at the time that it was mulling you. And I'm still surprised now. But I don't know if Ash Gardner was more deserving. I think Haastron Instagram is just a massive Ash Gardner fan. Well, yeah, because the three messages are then, is it more deserving to her consistency? It's not only a brilliance, but a consistency. It's hard, isn't it? When you're not in that environment, and you're not, we're not decision makers, obviously, of the cricket Australia team, the girls. But we kind of think things all happened in a certain way. And they didn't happen that way. So then you're wondering what's going on. Yeah. Last one. Last one, Regina. Feel like we're done edges. Joanna Perkins. I play with kids, not like that. What a great first podcast. No. I didn't start well. It started very well. Not something I normally do listen to podcasts, but now I can't wait to hear the next one. It's so relatable. And I love how you both start a conversation. And the twists and turns and ends up into a whole different topic. I'm say I play Club Women's Cricket. I'd love to listen to those who have been influenced on the women's game. And it's growth and hear their views and experiences. I would love to know does Alex still play any cricket? Nope. And I only will for a lot of cash. Yep. I've got to get a brown envelope out. Also, I'm captain of my team and have a lot of young players in my squad. So relate to what Crossy was talking about. How do you find the link of the youth? I can't father me any tips. Don't ask me. There's like, they use like, raisin words like that. And I don't understand. It's a whole, I think you have to, you have to hang out with the kids to understand what they mean. Like, it's really good or bad. You don't know until you spend more time with them. And what's no cap mean? Don't ask me. Like, you haven't got a cap on right now. You don't wear caps off. No, I haven't got no cap. I ain't got no cap. You got ris. Ah. Keep spreading the word of women's cricket. No filter. Look forward to the next episode. Joe Griffin. Thanks, Joe. Joe, we like to call what you're referring to as the no balls whip lash. Yeah, sometimes happens, you know, sometimes the number when it does is good. Yeah, I don't think there's much whip lash, whip lash there, but we will be back tomorrow morning. Yeah. And that could go anywhere. Well, it'll be talking about into your cricket. So go be not wild. You never know. You don't know. You do not know. Thanks for listening. Please get in touch. May we go loads of emails there? Yeah, make sure you email us or hello at noblespod.com. It's so good. They said it twice. And please go and like, review and subscribe and comment and everything else, please. And if you got rich friend town sponsors, thank you. Bye. Bye.
