lunch with Kevin Jonas, partying with 22 year olds, & fresh vs. frozen sperm

Sam recounts an unexpected encounter with Kevin Jonas at a Soho bar, where a bartender recognizes him and prompts Sam to reach out to the Jonas Brothers. She shares a thoughtful, low-pressure approach to contacting them, emphasizing her respect for their music and desire to feature them on the podcast without creating fanfare. The story is layered with broader cultural observations: the Jonas Brothers' evolving presence, particularly the absence of Frankie from public appearances, and the public’s reaction to the Sophie Turner divorce, which reportedly caused a major shift in the group’s tour schedule. The conversation also touches on nostalgic bar experiences, where music and games like "guess the One Direction song" spark connection among older friends. It highlights a contrast between generational music tastes—where younger patrons enjoy 2000s pop—versus the group’s college-era nostalgia. The episode further explores personal habits, such as coffee preferences, with participants discussing their routines, from black coffee to sweetened ice drinks, and the cultural impact of energy drinks and social media. A reflective tone emerges around digital overexposure, with members acknowledging that constant connectivity can erode real-world presence and emotional depth. Ultimately, the narrative balances personal anecdote with a critical lens on modern life, connectivity, and the power of simple, authentic human interaction.

(upbeat music) - Welcome to Justice Girls, it is Paige, Katie, and Sam. - Quick housekeeping, Sam ran into a celebrity today and I feel like we need to hear all about it. I'm excited to catch up with you guys, but it's like, do we catch up personally? - We just have to hear the story. - I know, we've been in together now for a few hours and I'm like, okay, I can't talk to you about it. I can't talk to you about it. Okay, so, I ran into Kevin Jonas today. - Which, wait, can we pause really quick? Just a reminder, how many weeks ago was it? Rose, Bren, and Conan O'Brien? - Rose, Bren, and Conan O'Brien. - But she didn't even know Conan was there, which is crazy. - That was crazy, that was crazy. - He's knocking there, like the way I was sitting. - So tall. - So tall, but so thin as. - His head is so heavy. - Yeah, red hair. - When I lived here, I don't think I ever saw celebrity, but now that I'm coming, - Now I feel like you did, but you might have not recognized that. - Maybe. - There's also a lot of times when celebrities are out in the wild, they look so different. - In fact, I need it. - Yeah, yeah. - And I hate, I don't know if I should say this, but like when, if you put the Jonas Brothers next to each other and said name them, I wouldn't be able to do that. - Oh really? - Yeah. - Kevin is the one I can name. - Really? - Like that's Kevin. - There's a fourth, you know. - What? - Do they have an older brother? - No, I think he's younger. - That's Frankie. Oh, game was, we have Frankie. - Wait, that's not a tough stand Frankie. - I don't see him. - Oh, he doesn't see that. - Oh, why not? - Is he drama? - He's just like, he's like, like he adds nothing to it besides like, he's just like really like riding the wave. - But he's not in the bag. - I know what he like talks about. - Oh, I'm not in the band. - I mean, I would be so mad. - I would be so mad. - Because they're not triplets. I was thinking they were triplets. - I don't know anything about them though. - You cannot start a brother band and be like all of us. - Except for you. - Especially because they're all brothers. Not like it's a sister. - Yeah, it's like. - It's easier if it was a sister. - I need to know the history of why they didn't let Frankie in the band. - Well, you know what? - We need to have them on the podcast. And that's a perfect journey. - Oh yeah, sorry. - I'm gonna tell us. - Okay, tell us. - So this will happen. - Wait, no, before you tell us what happened, in our text chain, she was like, oh, it's so funny because I just listened to him on GoodHang with Amy Bull. - Oh, what's the first thing it is, right? - And not just him, all the brothers were on there. - Except for Frankie. - Because they quickly Googled if he was on Jake Shane's podcast, but that was just Joe or Nick, never know. - They are the more. - They are similar. - Yeah, Joe is the Sophie Turner. - He was the one that dated Taylor Swift, correct? - Yes. - So when Sophie Turner had a Instagram post, it was like, it's a banger, and I send babies, like X's babies presents. - Yes. - Yeah, and Nick is married to Priyanka. - Okay, so here's what happened. First of all, you know in my ADHD, every time I get off the subway, I go to the same restaurant, I sit in the same spot. - Stop, you went there again? - No, today, I said, you know what? We have a different schedule today. We're staying overnight. We're gonna switch it up. I went to Jack's wife, Frida, am I saying that right? In Soho, and I had been there before with a friend, and I was like, okay, I know where it is. It's close to our hotel-esque. So like, I'm gonna go there. I sit at the bar because I was like, I wanna talk to people. Bar tender, he's fabulous. Great, we start having a great conversation. Within two seconds of me opening my computer and ordering my ice latte, he goes, oh my God. Kim and Jonas are sitting right outside. And he goes, I just started two weeks ago, and apparently he comes here all the time. And I was like, no, fucking way. So I texted you guys, and I was like, sure did. What do I do? Like, I just feel like, so the way it was, is like, I'm sitting at the bar. He is right behind me, but outside. So there's only a window separating us. And I just- Only a paint of glass. Only a paint of glass. Which we use every year. And so, I was like, you know what? What the fuck do I have to lose? So I go to my new friend, Jordan. Shout out to Jordan and the bartender. I go, I'm gonna shoot my shot. And he starts dying. He's like, are you gonna turn your wedding ring around? I was like, no, I'm not hitting on him. I was like, I'm gonna try to like, see if he can be on the pod. It just, you know, reach out. So- - Just reach out. - I just can't. - I'm just like, what do I have to lose? I help a fuck. And I'm not even like- - Nothing against the Jonas Brothers. They've amazing bangers, but I'm not like a groupie of theirs. Like, again, I didn't know who's who in the band. - Oh, I have something to add to this kick. - Okay. - Yes. - Okay, so first things first. I'm like, okay, how am I gonna do this? I don't wanna create a lot of buzz. I don't wanna be that person that like, everyone's gonna start coming up to them now. So it's him and a friend. Meanwhile. - I thought he was alone. - Did I? - Yes, didn't I? - Oh, because I thought he was alone and then he wasn't. - There's a lot of interroxxers that are around. - Okay. - So I also text my mom. And I was like, I was like, mom, Kevin Jonas is here. And she goes, oh my god. He just guest hosted like Kelly Ripa's show this morning. So I guess he was on the show. - Did he do album? - Jonas Brothers, no, they have a podcast. - Is that why they're- - That's their promo. - Yeah, they're mine. - Yeah. - But I did see on- - Game. - Are they friends? - They're doing Camp Rock 3. - Oh. - They've been here. - They have not. - Wait, and the Jonas Brothers are gonna be in it? - Yeah, they're in it. - That seems a little bit like- - This reminds me of the in-sync controls. - You know, it's just like fly. - Why do I know this, but they're- - You can just let it fly. - Okay. - They're coming in like at the beginning and probably at the end and basically whoever wins Camp Rock this year gets to open for the Jonas Brothers. - That makes a lot of sense. - But that was what they were in, right? - I mean, I really have to say, I feel like the Sophie Turner, like divorce really just set that down. - The tour was headed so high. I didn't have anybody who was so excited about it. Take its work expensive. And the Sophie Turner thing happened. And I feel like they canceled so many of their shows. - Really? - Yeah, I don't know any of this. - Like I just know- - It was a few years ago, but it was very- - It was very- - It was- - It shook the world. - Okay. - Well, 'cause she was such a girls girl. - Yeah. - There was a mirror campaign. - Yeah, it was crazy. - It was- - I believe Camp Rock. - Were they in Camp Rock? - Gave saying yes. - 'Cause that's Disney, right? - Yeah. - That meme that's going around where it's like, I'm a millennial, but how do I explain to people? I'm an OC Laguna Beach millennial. - That's me. - I'm a rock. - Yeah. - Yeah, that's me. - But see, I was a high school musical. - You were. - Yeah, I was. - But Camp Rock, I didn't get it. - You are approximately like, I don't know. 11 months younger than me. So maybe that's what accounts for that. - But just missed the Camp Rock cutoff. - Anyway, so Sam. - Okay, so he's sitting out there with a friend. I didn't want to cause a big commotion. So I- - You're so kind. - I rip the menu. And I just write Sam. And I wrote at just the Justice Girls pod. And then my phone number. And I was gonna go up to him and just be like, hey, we were millennial moms. We host this pod, like we'd love to have you on. By the time I got out the door, which locked behind me that I didn't know yet. He's on a phone call. - Oh. - But the good thing is his back is to me and his friend sees me. Obviously, his friend is so used to this. So I just hate it to his friend and I'm like, thanks. He waves to me, smiles, whatever. I go back around and I'm like, fuck. They probably think I just like gave them my phone number. I'm like, this is what it seems like. - It's giving me so, yeah, killer. This is more awkward, okay? - I thought it was more like casual hook up. - Oh, yeah. - I don't know about that. She gave him her name, her podcast. - He called, but he did a hot sign, okay, right? So then I'm like, I can't- And then I'm freaking out. I'm like, I can't leave it like this. - No. - That's so awkward. - So you go back? - Yeah. - Yep. - I had to. I really weighed my options here. And there's a pink glass that can make sure that he wasn't on the phone. I go out and I'm like, I'm so sorry. I just don't want you to think. I was like hitting on you. I was like a married mom of two. And he was like, and I had seen through the pain of glass. He was on our podcast page. So he was on our page. He was like, yeah, we looked up the podcast. Say we see your podcast of moms. Him and his friend. So he was on our podcast page this morning. - Okay, Kevin. - And he followed me. - He did not follow a chat. - Oh. - I know. It's okay. - He said not for me. - But he said he said we'll definitely reach out if it's a good fit, which I'm like. - I think the first pin post is the fart post. And he probably was like, that's not. - That's not what he said. - You know, but he's a dad, right? He's a dad of more people children. - Yeah, he's a dad of more people children. - I wonder if he farts about this one. - We don't know. We can ask. - We'll find out. - I think we're very sweet. I talked to him and his friend for like a second. But I didn't want to like cause a bunch of commotion. But I was like, I just didn't want you to think. Like, and I said, of course. I said, I listened to you and your brothers on the Amy Polar's podcast. I like love your eyes dynamic. I really respect you. Like, and all you had to say on there. Cause I didn't want to be like, I'm a fangirl. Cause you're not honest with me. - Cause you're having a wish-brother's wish. - Yeah, I don't know. - Cause I asked the bartender, I'm like, what's his name? Cause I was like, hey, Nick. Um, but. - Yeah. - That was bad. - That was bad. - So that was my experience as well. - Wow, I'm really proud of you. - Because he was like, what do I have to do? I don't care. - I feel like you challenged yourself to this earlier. Like, I'm going to keep my head up. I'm going to. I'm going to have a little talk to people and that was a really great thing to do. I think you know what I'm going to do. I wouldn't have done it. I know I wouldn't. I'm so scared of things. - I wasn't going to either, but then I genuinely was like, I give zero fucks and like, what if we can get him on the podcast? They're like, he's a dad or the other one's dad's two multiple dad's now. - So it's like the brothers, three girls, three guys, and then we can have some fun. - Like, it was about Frankie, whether he has kids or not. - I was six people in a room, though, maybe we should have bite Frankie. - Yeah. - You know, but there's a lone brother. - Yeah. - Even says, um, this has me thinking about. So I went, those same week and you had a girl's weekend. I had a girl's weekend. Our vibes were different. You were just like, chill. - Yeah, you were at, yeah, you were at a wedding. - 'Cause it went girl's weekend. - I was, we went out in the city, like, we're like, we're not going to go. We normally go to, like, Vermont and go hiking and relax. And we're like, that's what I have. - Yes. We decided, no, we're going to the city and we're going to get a little, a little funny. - I got a little silly too in my college time. - Yeah, a little silly. That's the word I was looking at. - What was this thing? - Fucked up. - Well, I was like, dang, that's me. I got fucked up. I got fucked up. Well, I didn't actually, you know, I was pretty responsible. - Of course. She had the intention, but she got there and teach her how. - Well, one of my friends looked at me at the bar and she's like, I'm a little fucked up. I was like, do we need to go home? Are you okay? - No, no. - No, she was like, no, what a good way. I'm like, fun. I was like, okay, I'm just really nervous. - Yeah. - For you. But we were at the bar and these twin brothers were playing this game. Mind you, we were playing our own game, which I think was a terrible game. - Which game? - My friend was like, when I go to a bar now, she's like, I played this game where we go up to strangers and I guess their age and however close you are, you drink up or down. And I was like, this feels dangerous, but we were at a bar where everybody was objectively 15 years younger than I was drinking age, barely. And so these boys, though, come up to us. And one of the girls plays the game with them whatever and they're like we're actually playing our own game He's like you want to play and I was like, what's your game? He's like sure. This is a conversation starter He's like, do you like one direction? And I was like, yes, and he's like, what's your favorite song? And then he on his notes app he has a tally of everybody who likes one direction and who doesn't One directions winning lots of people like them as it should and then he goes if you're not a one direction fan Are you a fan of any of the guys right whatever if so for every guy? He pulled up his favorite his playlist of his top 10 Harry style songs and his top 10 Liam Payne songs And you had to guess them. It was like this This is a real game like a bar with like so much music. It was so old. This is sticky He okay, so I don't know his brother I felt bad because in the guessing game they're twins one guy we guessed 28 the other 30 but they're identical twins They're identical. Yeah, but like he's been through a lot of work. That wasn't it wasn't But so I was like how's this game working for you? He's like honestly, it's really well He's like it's a great conversation starter I really love it. It's a one direction and you know that we get to talk about music. He's like, it's great Yeah, so you for your girls we can we're in Boston. Do you spend the night? Oh, yeah, we spent the weekend Yeah, like did you go Friday Friday through Sunday? Oh, that's so fun And then how was your wedding at Penn State? It was so fun Like when you're back and you know when you're like your old stomping grounds You feel like you're in college. Yeah, and because my husband wasn't there Wasn't my college roommate to them, you know things just oh, I know it was so fun And they were playing all of the bangers from like when we were in college I say no till two a.m. I looked down at the clock and I was like I need to get my ass in bed But I had so much fun. Um, that is the thing though at this bar. We're objectively the oldest people in there Every's really young every single song was from when we were in college. It's like they don't have good music or something I don't know if that's gonna get you back in your parties. No, you know, but the bar was full of 22 year-old Yeah, but they probably like get to because they think of like middle school like that be like a middle school Well, we yeah, they play our middle school songs where like we know like little John and stuff. You're like Yeah, that's good to shots to get crunk So it's I guess they feel like that, too It was just a surprise. I was like really you imagine of it. She being like your middle school song. No ours was like little John. Yeah Yeah, the windows Yeah, that was too sad Exactly, it's been like all of the other seven grade No, yours was a little more tame, right? Mine was the opposite of everybody. You really held on just on in the party Yeah, I went to the cat skills. I never been before. I mean went to this place called Scribner's Law I feel like it's very popular in the NYC scene. I guess missles. They did the cat skills. Oh, yeah They skipped the city and go out there the family vacations. Yeah, there were a lot of families there, which I it was nice to see because I didn't remind of me how relaxed I was like just waking up in the morning And like laying in bed going on my phone watching TV. Yeah, so nice. It rained all weekend Yeah, it was a rainy weekend. Yeah, it was a very rainy weekend. We intended to hike. We had good intentions But it rains. We got to a winery instead. They're great And it was just it felt like up. It's just like my girls. They live in New York. They live in Boston, Jersey So it's nice to get together in NYC. Yeah, it's so fun Going away with your girlfriends just for a weekend. Yeah, it's actually like those friends were Like I feel this way about you too I can say anything and not walk away and be like was that weird or like yeah, did I you know and so I don't know It's just so nice to be like that for a weekend and feel so relaxed Then it came home and I saw a parent did for a week and so that snapped me right at the corner saw It was a great weekend. I feel very lucky. Yeah. Yeah, so a parent takes off for the faint of heart. No, it's not for the week So something we did really want to do over the weekend that I'm really bummed about is My friends are very similar to me so when we all got together we were like we should when it started raining We were like we should see the honesty this weekend like that is our dream right now. Just go to movie theater Got your kids get snacks and lay down with the closest movie theater was 45 minutes away. Oh wow So we so we couldn't and I'm so bummed because I think I'm seeing the Odyssey everywhere and I have still not seen it I don't know. It's a it's a three hour movie. When am I gonna find the time? I know Our friends went like the one dad like married couple went he went at like 10 10 pm I'm like you're not that's not even starting until 10 30 he got home at like after one. No, I can't no And you've seen on I max two. Yeah, because it's like one of the only movies ever made on all I max 70 millimeter film I believe it is and there's only 40 theaters in the world that habit Really I max kind of makes me nauseous. This is what my husband says. Do you have motion sickness? I do. Oh, yeah, my husband has insane motion I don't love those theaters where they're like it's the max and I'm like I will throw up. Yeah Like the spear like you probably couldn't see the answer The idea I would walk in sir throwing I want to go to that have you seen the videos of that? Oh, I don't know if you guys know who it is that it's like a house artist And their sphere show was so trippy. It was like this big robot where it's like pretending to grab people at the audience It looks so scary, but like if you're gonna be the sphere you might as well just have the experience I just don't think I can go like I get nauseous. I was sitting in my car and a train was going by and I got nauseous Um, I also have not seen the Odyssey though if I can only see it on I max I guess I just will never see it. Yeah, yeah, that's okay We can wait till we can stream it. How long does it take now to get things on stream? I don't know. Yeah, because Project Hail Mary I watch that this weekend. Okay. It's funny, right? Project Hail Mary. Yeah, or my husband said it was funny. It takes you on a journey. Okay. There were definitely He here are hot parts. There was a part where I almost had to walk away And my husband was like do we need to turn it off because I was getting really upset. Oh Uh, but it's a journey, but it's very good and it's for Ryan Gosley. Oh, that one's awesome. I want to read the book first I don't I'm a person who really like if there's a book. I want to try and get that. I don't know if that's why I would read the book first. It doesn't matter. It seems like the book might be boring I don't know though people are probably maybe I'm incorrect because they made a movie out of it Uh, but it's a it's like they're parts of the movie that are like pretty slow like character Relationship building. It's in my live app. Uh, so I found the movie to be fantastic. It had all elements It had science. It had friendship. That's streaming. Uh, it's on Amazon. Okay. Yeah, so that's something we can watch now I did this is not a movie, but per Gabe's recommendation I watched Widow's Bay. Yes. How was it? Holy shit. You said you put up a little story like under your blanket And I was like, was it really scary? Okay. I can't do scary. I wish I'd known more about it Like I didn't watch a trailer or anything. Yeah, I had no idea it was like a thriller scary But it was like Scary but funny like I was laughing the whole time but also scared but also like genuinely confused Yeah, for most of the series. I was like what the what is happening? What kind of scary like jumps like scare? No, no like like The regional spooky. There's like the clown clown will get you that. Oh, there's a clown which I didn't like. No, I don't like Not like that. Um, but definitely worth the watch Um, I'm not typically into things that are scary like I do not like a thriller I'm not gonna watch a scary movie, but Widow's Bay was intriguing and interesting enough that I kept watching and we watched it all Last week like we just blew through it. I think there's 10 episodes Um, it was really really good, but it was definitely one of those the ones where you know when you leave a TV show and you're I'm not quite sure What happened yeah, like that was a show a little bit But it's like present day and it's based in New England. So again, it's like It's on an island called Widow's Bay and it's meant to be like it's kind of like an entity thing Like it's like as if you're on an attack it except for it's haunted basically Um, I think it's worth the watch But I the problem with movies these days for me and I saw take talk about this where a guy was like bring back the 90 minute movie With movies are three hours. They're too freaking long. They're mostly you. Yeah, I don't see yeah We had to watch project tale Mary on tune. How long is the project tell me I think it was two and a half or three hours This is the thing Matt will always be like oh, we should watch a movie and I can start 845. Yeah, the time we're done It's like yeah because as consumers we're all getting so used to like series and be having more Problems that now a movie like you feel like those Well, it's even some TV shows episodes will be an hour and 20 minutes. So maybe they feel like in order to delineate um, I did I was listening to good hang by Amy Polar my first episode um, cuz Tom Holland. I love Tom Holland and all the Odyssey talk I was like I want to listen to it and he started a production company with his brother to bring back like the mid-range Normal movies so to speak which I felt ironic because he was doing that But I was like the two movies are in our Odyssey and Spider-Man right now, but you know who am I to judge? I appreciate I guess the ship But so he was talking about bringing back like that mid-range movie Oh, yeah, cuz I think we need it because I'm not gonna watch the Odyssey too long. Yeah, it's like I can't watch anything that's over I can but like over two hours. I just actually don't have more time to give And he feel like a movie is meant to be watched in one sitting Yeah, so the idea that you watch that and then split it up. Well, we me my friends call it a cinematic adventure It's like it's a three-hour movie. It's it's a day. You have to make a day Yeah, it's like an exciting thing you get your snack for your blanket Yeah, you just really enjoy it movie girl. Like I don't even like going to the movies like sitting in there like it's just not my vibes Yeah, I love it. I'm like trying to think of the last movie I saw I'm there for a raisinette Oh, that's an interesting choice I love raisinette or raisinettes are pretty good, but they're not what I get but like no one's like I can't wait to get a raisinette It's a movie and if you put it in the popcorn like a milk do you put raisinettes in your mouth and I will have like a couple lines and it's because I don't want every bite to come out. - You know, some that they fold the bottom. - Yeah, it's a bit messy down there. - Yeah, exactly. - I mean, I'm a sour patch girl, you know what I'm saying right here. - I love a junior mitt. - Oh, I love a junior mitt. - Oh, Matt's family dumps their junior mitts in the department. - Yeah, you're not sure about that. - To turn into like a little patty. - I don't. - Yeah, you have little bites in there. - Yeah, yeah, like before you put it in your mouth, yeah. - Yeah, but like, I remember when you start to be able to do your own butter. Remember when you, like, could start to butter your own pop. - So I grew up in such an almond family that we never buttered the popcorn. And now, it's like one of those things where I have to work through it every time we're at the theater. I'm like, you're allowed to put butter on the popcorn. - Oh, we, we don't have to continue to put it on. You can say no, but. - But you are allowed to have it. - Oh, no, my mom was the sneak, the snacks in your purse. - Oh, so are we, weren't a lot of them. - But we didn't dollar store right before. - Yes, no. - No, dollar store was way better. - Yeah, even like at a restaurant, we would sit down, my parents would be at waters. - Oh, I just wanted to chuck water. - Yeah, like, okay, my bad. But once they moved the butter out of the back and like into the front, you could just see the butter. - Yeah, it is your out. - Isn't it still in the back? - No. - Not at my theater itself, serve it and that freaked me out. - You yourself served sodas and slushies now. - Yeah. - I love it. - That, I don't mind that. - I like that I can pick my Diet Coke flavors. - Too many. I mean, I always just get plain or vanilla. - Are you Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper girls? - Coke. Depends on the day. - Okay. - Yeah. It depends, but I think I lean more DP. - I don't like Dr. Pepper. Is there a battle going on between the two? - No, I just wanted to know if you felt passionate. - I think they're distinct. Like, you know how moms will joke like, I'm gonna white SUV mom or black SUV mom? - Oh yes. - I'm not either of those. It's not what color my car is. But I think there's the Dr. Pepper girls and the Diet Coke girls and our two different girls. - Yeah. - I like to dabble with both friendships. - Like right now, the thought of a Dr. Pepper, I'm like, salivating. - I can see my Diet Coke from here. (laughs) - I just thought of this. - You're right. - But it doesn't give you a side table here. - I can't finish a Diet Coke anymore. I can drink a tiny, tiny bit of it and then it just like hurts my chest. (laughs) - I can't. - Gerard, Gerard, Gerard. - But okay, I am not gonna watch the Odyssey and I'm gonna tell you this. I am not like a Christopher Nolan's, like what are Christopher Nolan's movies? - Oppenheimer. - Oppenheimer. - Batman. - Haven't seen, haven't seen. - Inception. - Haven't seen. (laughs) - I haven't seen any of these either. - What old do you respect? And I mean, there's like an objective way, not a judgment, to a way, like to relate to it. I just now don't trust any of your judgment on movies, solely because it's like, he is without a doubt, one of the best directors of our time and produces some of the best movies ever made. So it's hard now because the bars of what you're comparing it to, but what have I ever judged a movie on here? - I feel like we talk about it. - I think you talk about movies. - I do. - I don't watch them. - Yeah, I was in the industry for a while. It's stupid to me. - Scooby, what's your making another Scooby-Doo movie? Christopher, I'm not saying Mama Mia is Oppenheimer, or whatever. - I love Mama Mia. - Oppenheimer. - Oppenheimer. - Yeah. - Oppenheimer, that's Oppenheimer. (laughs) - Okay, that's not a movie thing. That's like a who developed the nuclear bomb. - Oh, yes, okay. (laughs) Okay, anyways, what I was going to say is, I don't watch movies. Therefore, I have to hear Christopher, no one movies. - I do have to say, if you liked Widow's Bay, have you ever watched Haunting of Hill House? - No, because I generally steer clear of scary. - I'm not a scary. - So, Haunting of Hill House, there's a few seasons. The first few are particularly very good, because it's almost like, what was the movie, or the show with Mandy Moore and Michelle Huspen? - Oh, oh, this is us. - Oh, this is us. - So, it's kind of like, if this is us, (laughs) - Michelle has us. - Had a horror element to it. - Okay. - So, it's like there's interpersonal relationship building that actors are really, really good, but then it has a scary, haunting thing going on. - Fantastic show. - Interesting. - I would really, no, Michelle. - Oh, but see, this is the thing, you're just putting me into another show. - Okay, well, you said you're not gonna watch movies, so I'm trying to give you show. - Oh, he's saying, I will try. I will try to watch some of these movies, but you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make a drink. - I used to watch movies when they were shorter. - Has your husband seen those? - Yeah, he watched movies without me. - He loves movies. - I just signed a gender, but I feel like a lot of those, like, men really, really love. - Well, so I saw a lot of comments, my entire TikTok is Christopher Nolan commentary, but it's a lot of women who are complaining that they feel like Christopher Nolan does not know how to write from the female perspective, and that he only writes male-centered emails. - Oh, he doesn't pass the back-to-test ever. - He doesn't pass the back-to-test, and they were saying he writes women who are male-centered, so they're like for balls around, yeah, man. - And for anybody that doesn't know, the back-to-all tests, I don't remember the exact, but it's like, there has to be a conversation by two women that doesn't have to do with men. That doesn't have to do with men. It's like, I think it's a very low bar. Are you looking it up? - Yeah. - In the movie period, it's a three-hour movie. - The back-to-all test is a popular simple metric used to evaluate the representation of women in works of fiction such as TV and movies. It features at least two women. Those two women have a conversation with one another, and the conversation is about anything other than a man. - Does it have to be for any period of time, or just in general? - No, it just, in general. - In general? - They mean to say one word. - In general, they just say how low to each other passes the back-to-all test. - It's not saying that, I'm going to Google, but I feel like when I was seeing it all over the internet, it was like 30 seconds. It had to be whatever. - There has to be some change. - But yes, I don't think any of his movies. - Yeah, that's a shame. - But I haven't seen the Odyssey yet. I get. That was the critique I was seeing. Mind you, I don't know who Christopher Nolan is. - To the second thing I saw was, I think he didn't interview with one of the Jimmy's, and he said, - Love that. - Love that. - What about one of the Jimmy's? He talked to one of the Jimmy's, and he said he doesn't have a smartphone, and he does not communicate via text or email, because it protects him creative, like his creative juices. But then, apparently most of it is outsourced to his wife. And his wife does the emailing in the texting, and she's compensated. - She is compensated, but she's the protective layer. And so she is compensated. Katie looked into it more, like she's definitely heavily compensated. - She is a executive producer. - Basically everything does. - Yeah, the wording might be incorrect. I know she's a producer, I'm not sure if it's executive, but she has her own executive production company, and she is a top producer, and so she gets a percentage of gross box office sales. Actually, her and Christopher Nolan both, 'cause usually how it works, right, is a movie will cost $250 million. The first $250 million the movie makes goes back to the people who made it or whatever, and then it gets spread among the cast, whatever. However, contracts work. They have contracts that even before the studio is paid back, they get money from the sales, and they both separately get it with their, each of their companies. - Yeah, it says they're producing partners. So she's a partner in his business, but the thing that people were saying was not even just the, like the, whether what she compensated or not, like the unpaid labor of women, she's paid, but it's like that invisible labor where it's like she protects his creative freedom, and the reason so many women don't get this layer, like this level of success or this level of creativity is because they don't have that, like in front of them, and most men are unwilling to be that protective layer for the women in their lives. Like, was it you and I? We were talking about how a lot of men, yeah, can't handle like when their partner gets really famous, that's when they're like, I'm out. I don't, I don't actually, yeah. And so it's an interesting dynamic. It was an interesting conversation because I think, we keep talking about the brick and blocking our apps, and like, yeah, I'll just stop on. - Yeah, you like it, right? - No, I'm so proud of you. - It was a brick, except I had to have to say the other night, I was in the middle of posting like an ad, a story ad, and it was three slides, and I posted the first two, and I was in the middle of posting the third, and I got ripped, and it just shut down, and I was like, in the middle, the baby was sleeping on me, it was like, it was 8 p.m, that's when my brick starts. - Oh, so you like set it? See, I need the physical tap of it. - Oh, no, I set it, because you know what? I won't go do it, or like the thought of going downstairs, I need to physically, like I need it to do it for me, so trust me. - That's a line to make sense. - Yeah, and so I had to wait until the baby was like, fully asleep, but I'm down. - But I'm down for the link, where's the link? - Where's the fuck is it? - Everybody wanted it, everybody wanted it. - Everybody was messaging me. - I remember you texting us, though, 'cause we knew you were just getting your work done. - And you like, she texted us a question about social media, and I was like, "Haha, nice try, no answering, I'm here." - You guys always asked me to watch something, and you were like, "Never mind, sorry, that's me." - You guys always sent me stuff, and I'm like, "Oh, look at it at 9 a.m, what I'm gonna say." - I think it's the only reason I was able to watch Project Tale Marries, 'cause I was burnt out. - I'm telling you, it's great. - My husband literally was like, "I think this is gonna save our marriage." - It was like, "Oh no, it is." - Oh, no. - It did the two screen-queena. - I am, I just can't help it, but so. - I think it is really good. I do think creatively, I feel most creative after I, the weekend with my girlfriend. It's like, I didn't touch my phone. - Like, I didn't look at my Instagram or TikTok. I didn't look at anything. I was like, in it with my friends, and we're also the kind of friends who are not like, taking a bunch of photos, or like, we're just like, to get-- - True friends. - Yeah, like, we're just together having fun. - Yeah. - Not trying to, for better or for worse, knock documenting it very well. And like, I don't, I do eat that. I feel like, oh, like, I feel creative. I feel energized. - I feel. - Yeah. - 'Cause it's like when you just have your phone always in your hand, it just sucks a bad thing. - But don't you feel like sometimes it's harder? Like, I feel like I get into this. Where then when I'm not on it, you feel so free. And it's like, I don't want to-- - I'll never go back. - Yeah, really? - Yeah, but regular people don't have to. - Yeah. - Regular people don't have to go back. It's distinctly remember at the winery, having a thought of like, I feel really bad for-- I love creating content and I love like the boundaries with it. I feel bad for the people who post like five vlogs a day and are, you know, always posting three times a day no matter what every single day. Because I'm like, that must be so exhausting to never, ever, ever get a break and not be able to be like present. in the outside world, yeah. - Do your friends, so you said, I know you said like real friends you don't have content with, but it's funny, my friends like trust me. They're like, okay, we know Sam is gonna get the good picture of us, so they like, they count on me for that, and then the phone goes away. - Well, so I, my best friend-- - But we're in a mix, so I guess that's different. - Yeah. - I just got dolled up. - I mean, we took a handful of photos. Like we're like server, can you take a photo? - Yeah, we took a lot. - Yeah, like we took some. There's some very blurry ones from that bar. (laughing) - I was like, you're not great. - I'm not great, but I have one friend, my best friend from college, and I lived with her. She was like our third wheel, like my husband and I. She was always just with us everywhere we went. Every picture of him and I, for that decade, she took. Because we just never, him and I, we never think about it, we don't take it, like, we always joke like, there would be no photos of us if it was not for her. Like all the photos of me in my 20s are because of her. Like when I need something, like, do you have a photo of me? - Do you have a photo of me? - Doing X, Y and Z, she's like, yes, I absolutely do. But I've just never been, I don't know, maybe I wasn't raised with parents who were crazy with photos. Like, I just was never the person who was like-- - I was always the digital camera girl. Like, I was the girl that, like, my friends came to in college, like, I took the picture. - Yeah, I loved that. - Yeah, I loved, like, photography. - Yeah, I was the same. I feel like the becoming a content creator was literally nothing changed with, like, my social media. - Like, seventh, eighth, eighth, eighth public. - Did you do videos where you were younger? Like, like, with your parents' camcorder, like, my friends who would do talk shows, we would do, like, videos could ruin me. - I was like, do you see Alex Cooper's documentary? - Yeah. - Like, all of her, like, videos she made as, like, a kid. I'm like, that was me. Like, I was just doing obnoxious things in front of the camera. - I remember the MacBooks when they got, like, the camera, and you can make videos on it. - Oh, I have some-- - Oh, I have some interesting shots. - Yeah, no. So I'm just vividly remembering, what was that crazy chat roulette, chat roulette? - I sure do. - And there would just be a dick all of a sudden. - I remember coming home once, and my brother and his friend were doing it. We're like, what are you waiting for there? - Loops, loops, loops, loops. - And we're like, get off of it. - I remember me and like, all my friends would just press, press, press, and then you see a penis. You're like, ah, that was crazy. - That was crazy. - But the internet has, and always will be a dangerous place. - That was so, not okay. - So, or was that early? - Yeah, probably college, but like, I don't know. - Wow, what a wild, wild west. - I mean, I definitely talked to so many pedophiles when I was younger. - And so much, eight sex, what was it? - I was so excited, I was so excited. - I mean, when I looked back, like scary. - And my mom was so like, don't talk to pedophiles. Don't talk, you know, like, she said that. My mom was like, don't talk to strangers. - You know what? - Oh no, I know. - Also, like, she wanted to scare me, so she beg their pedophiles on there. - Oh my god. - Yeah, I mean, it didn't work. - You guys both have brothers, right? - Yeah. - Like, a lot of them. - The gaming, live stuff. Like, that was always-- - He didn't talk to each other and do that. - He didn't talk to each other and like, crazy shit. - Are they all still do that? - I still do, yeah. - Yeah, my husband is from a gamer. - You tried to be for a week. - Oh my gosh, he was roasted on. - Do you remember his name? - It was his name. - I don't remember, it was right after we moved in with each other, and I went to a workout class. And it, 'cause we had moved to California. All of his friends were on the East Coast, they all played games, so he was like, I'm gonna try, so I can hang out with my friends. And so he got on, called duty, I guess. It was, the first time, caught as they call it. - I was nearly paying my pants because he ended up in a group with all these 13-year-olds. - And they were a team. And he got put in the fourth as a team. And they were very loudly making fun of him. They all got in the little van thing and left him out of it. He was running after it. And I was like, if that you are getting bullied by a 13-year-olds, and he never played again. - Yeah. - It was really sad. - Yeah. - They're really mean on there. - Yeah. - They're really mean. - It's like crazy. And I feel like that's like in a lot of movies too, when like, adults are on the headset. - Oh yeah. - And then these little kids, just bullying them. - I get beat really mean, 'cause they have nothing to lose. - Yeah. - They're just spend everything out there. - Yeah, unfortunately for our kids, like we know far too much. I'm like, you're not gonna have access to anything. - But do you think that? But the way the internet is going to progress, they're gonna be able to have work around. It's the same, like, I think there's always gonna be the generation that can break you. - You know what my mom used to do? If she didn't want us to like watch TV or use the internet, she would just take the ethernet cord with her to work. - We can't do that. - She would shut us down. And then the, that's actually the direct TV box. Had a little card that would come out. So she would take it out. She would take the ethernet cord. She'd like, have fun. - I just leave us there stranded in our home. - I mean, that is respectfully savage. - And I would do the same if I could. - I wish I could. - Yeah. - So how do we shut down self-esteem? - You broke everybody. Isn't that cruel? - We used to have to, like, our parents wouldn't have access to phones when we would be on the internet, like, to think about that. Like, when we started going- - What do you mean? - Oh, like, to dialogue? - Yeah, like, when we had dialogue. Like, when we wanted to be on the AOL, like, if there was an emergency, sorry mom, I'm like- - I'm on AOL. - Yeah. - But, yeah. - I never got into Sims. It was weird to me. - It was weird to me. - Oh my gosh. I know Sims is, it's dark because you turn it on. All of a sudden, it's six hours later. And you're like, where do time go? Where the space time continuum disappears when Sims comes on? - Yeah, I was never, also, I think, well, you were the youngest, maybe, so you got more computer access. But, like, with the four of us, it's like, we all only had so much time. We were allowed to, like, be on the computer. There was one computer. - Yeah. - Four kids. - No, we had the same. - Yeah, but nobody could be novelized with Sims. - Well, that's why the tie went by so quick. That's what it was in Oang. In rollercoaster tycoon, all of it. You just get lost in the salt. - Oh, it was a tycoon, yeah. Yeah, that was a good one. - So, right before we film this, we got Katie here. - Coffee, which is taking me to bed right now. - Oh, perfect time. - The one that gave me a real traumatic moment at the Penn station with the lady, I asked. - Yeah, I asked Paige to shoot on the order for me to have some exposure therapy. - Yeah, I said no. - She said no. - It was okay. - I think I'm over time. - Me and BlueBuddle. I don't know that we can, I got yelled at. I'm like, I'm over it. - I get that. - Which I should be used to because, like, in Massachusetts, you get yelled at at Duncan Donuts anytime you walk in there. And it's the worst service ever and the coffee's always bad. - Why are you here? - Get out. - Yeah. - The coffee sucks. - It's so bad. - It's so bad. - People that like Duncan, it's like-- - Diabolical, but I grew up on-- - They're donuts, though. - I grew up-- - Donuts. - Said nobody ever. - Like, Krispy Kreme or Duncan? - Krispy Kreme everyday. - No, every day. - Ooh. - I think-- - I think-- - They're a crush. - I think donuts are a garbage treat, to be honest. - Oh god. - Unless it's an apple cider donut. - I think there's a lot of negativity in this episode. - Sorry. - I think we need to turn it around. - Say something. - I fucking love Duncan. That's not-- I think they're coffee sucks. - They're donuts. - Yeah, sorry. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Okay. - Okay. - I love a lot of Duncan. - Yeah. - Munchkins are-- - I don't know a lot of Duncan. - I don't know a lot of Duncan. - What about like a chocolate frosting was sprinkle? - They're just dry. - There goes our Duncan sponsorship, guys. - Yeah, that's on you. - A chocolate glaze, a chocolate crawler. That's the twisty long one. It's like a twisty long one. It's essentially a chocolate glaze donut, but it's a stick for him. - Oh, like that bow tie? - Like a churro. - Yeah, but more churro. - It's called a crawler. - Excuse me? - Chaudy. - Chaudy. - I have heard that word in a real time. - I heard you. - I was baffled by the comment. - I don't need to risk that person. - I can't do my mind. - Suscriptive. - I was talking about blue bottom. - Well, I was talking about getting nailed on a blue bottom. - Okay, I want to say something that I think it's time for all the one people drink hot coffee, truly ever, but in the summer. Like if it's hot, like do you guys drink ice coffee year-to-year rounds? - Year-round, year-round. - Yeah, if I need to get my balls moving, I'll switch it over to hot. - Really? - I thought ice coffee gets-- - No, well, so when I lived in California, I did a lot with ancient Chinese medicine doctors. - Okay. - And I set to California things. - I know, but I never remember how you pronounce it correctly and I don't want to screw it up with our are you Vedic? Medicine? - Medicine? Or. - Oh, I know what you're saying, but I. - I heard Vedic. - But oh, oh, and by the way, before we get to that conversation, when I was all my girls weekend, one of my best friends, Deanna, was like, you are saying that Zendaya's name wrong? - Zendaya. - No, Zendaya. - Zendaya. - And she was like, and I was like, you know what, thank you for correcting me. I'll make sure at this point, she was like, opposite of night, Zendaya. - Zendaya. - Okay, I'll never forget that now. - Yeah, so I said that wrong as well. Just a lot of things saying wrong. But a big practice in that medicine is drinking warm fluids and how that helps with your digestion because it takes more energy for your body to heat up. Excuse me. - Cold water? - So, I swear, if you try drinking, like room temperature/warm water and hot coffee and things got way more moving. - That was way less bloated. - I only drink room temperature/water. - Yeah. - Dislike cold water. - I do too. - Right, great. - I go, I, because of being lazy, the way my water is in my house, we have an RO. Do you guys use? - Wait, I think it's RO. - It's RO. - Yeah, I'm obsessed. - So they clean their water 'cause their water's swamp water. - 'Cause their water sucks in Florida. Anyways, the ice is out of my fridge and the water is like, over here so I just always drink room temperature. I don't feel like getting the ice. - Yeah, no, but I don't use to it. - I'm an ice coffee year round kind of girl. I will drink a hot if that's all that's available. It's just me, but my friends are always on me because when we went away for this girl's weekend, we all go to this cute little coffee shop and every is ordering like the fun little drinks. And I was like, I will have a black ice coffee. - Yeah, that's good. - All you drink is such a black ice coffee. - But it wasn't. The way I started drinking coffee was my mom. I just drink it how she drank it. 'Cause I didn't know how to order it, right? I knew I had ordered coffee for my mom enough time. She should give me like five bucks and tell me to go to Dunkin' Donuts and get her a coffee. - Scram, a medium ice regular, or a medium ice two sweet and low in cream. That is how my mom, so it was basically white was sweet and low in it, which is like so crazy sweet. - Yeah. - So that's how I drink coffee every single day. I drank that for like five years. - That's wild. - And then I got to college and my friends were like, you put cream in your coffee and I was like, ah, am I not supposed to? So then I worked myself off of the cream until like one percent milk. And then when I moved to LA, it was like sweet and low, what the fuck are you doing? so then it's our putting like sugar in it. in the raw and I was like, "Okay, we got it." - Oh yeah, we got some sort of-- - And then my husband did the whole 30 and it was black coffee only. - Wow. - Yes, but we did find some things that he's quite, it shouldn't be eating. Like after he did the whole 30, the next time, he can no longer consume milk at home. I think his body had built up a tolerance to the pain. - Yeah. - And then now anytime he has to be like, "I'm very ill." - When you said that was similar to me when I mentioned, like we don't know if we have a parasite 'cause that's our tummy. - Yeah, so it could be the dairy of it all for you. - I was having a ham once, he was like, "Page, I don't think I've shit to look solid in the years." (laughing) - That's a problem. - I'm talking to our dietitians. - I don't want the chat with you. - No, I mean, you went to a special doctor. (laughing) I was like, "That's a problem." - That's not normal, babe. - But that's his normal, yeah. - That's his normal. - It's all relative, that's his normal. - That's his normal, yeah. - But anyways, it got me thinking about coffee because like I just don't, I think drinking black coffee is a very particular thing, not a lot of people drink. - I think of a cold man. - I drink it black when I was in charge today. - Diet coltor, but that's not why I do it. - I don't know. - Yeah, totally different. - Clarifying. - For those who have preferences and enjoy that bitterness and drink. - I do. - I cannot drink ice coffee without like a cold foam or like chabani creamers, chabani sponsorship, but like the chabani creamers are just elite. - Yeah, they're so good. - I tried them. - But they're so sweet. Well you only put a little bit. - It's a ton of it, yeah. - It's just any hint of like, I was at my mom's and she only, this is not the bash or anything. All she has is a curic, right? So like, I'm just drinking her pods, whatever pods she's got. And most of her pods are hazelnut. - Yeah. - I don't like a hazelnut coffee. - I love hazelnut, not hazelnut coffee. - But like, what is this technically? - I don't know. (laughs) - I just, it's an ice coffee, I don't know. So when I once again lived in LA, that was my first exposure to Bluebottle. (laughs) - Honestly, yes, with Bluebottle, if you know, you know. I don't know where Bluebottle start, but I had my first one in LA. Me and my friends would get it. It was right next to our Soul Cycle class, or whatever, of course, in 2016 peak core. And they would all get this. And it's like the Ice Nola or whatever. And it's definitely sweet. It has things in it. - It has a flavor. - It has flavor. It's chickery, root. - I like to drink it. - Does it like remind you of being, - Yeah, it reminds me of - I'll take you back. - It being seven a.m. - I was in shape. And I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted for the day, which is a great memory. But it's so much caffeine. Like, these, I don't know, but they wire you. Like, when I drink one of these, I am like, set to that. - I feel like 200. - I don't know. It feels like 400. - It's like a Celsius, a Lonnie. Those are all like 200. - I've never had those. - I took a sip of one this weekend. I was afraid to do more, you know? - Two more. - I was afraid of it. - I did not have any more than that. Well, 'cause my husband stopped it. Like a dollar store, 'cause we need water, like, 'cause we were going onto an island and he came out with one. And it was kind of like pina colada flavor. I love pina colada. - The pina colada ones? - Yes. - And so summer, they're yummy. - So you drink them. - Wait, what are you talking about? At the top of the Celsius. - The top of the Celsius. I think that summer has like a pineapple on it. And like, it has like a couple of fruits. - It had very like Miami vice branding. - Yeah. - It's like the solar light. - Yeah. - But you don't feel like it makes you all like. - Oh it does, but I live for that. That's like, I don't, I even, we talk about we don't really drink a lot of alcohol. I hate, I hate how I feel after alcohol, my anxiety, my depression, everything through the room. - Has left the building. - Yeah, dopamine's gone. So for me, like, my vice is like, give me a little bit of a stimulant. - And caffeine. - Dude, at a wrong Vegas. There you go. - It's so good until you crash. - Yeah. - See, I, I, this feels like too much caffeine. - I just can't, you don't need that much caffeine. - Well, so my caffeine, so I make a big ice coffee in the morning, just like, you know, whatever, a tumbler of ice coffee. I pour it, I just finished it at three o'clock before we got here. And I poured it at 7 a.m. Like, I will slowly sip that ice coffee for the entirety of the whole day, basically, whereas my husband pours the exact same size ice coffee and it's gone before 80. Like, he drinks it. - That's how my husband drinks it. - So fast. - But that's also because I feel like, we're busy. - I am busy. - Yeah. - The men will prioritize drinking their coffee. - Well, she'll sex it down. He just like kind of chugs it. - Yeah. - And I feel like they will pay attention to me. Like, I need, my coffee is here. I'm gonna drink the coffee I made where we're like, we'll make the coffee, but then our kids eat something and they get distracted and then it's like, oh yeah, my coffee's over there. - Wait, you're saying coffee is crazy. - I gotta stop. - I heard it come out and I was like, that was weird. - That was weird. - We'd say like coffee, but she's saying coffee. - I literally, it was like, I was watching my body say it. It came out and I was like, I hope that just rolls away. - You did it more than one time. - I was really phone with them. - Don't, it's the blue bottle. I was like, oh, lay she's off now. - Yeah. - I was really phone with a British person the other day or it's telling me that a British accent and I almost like started talking back to them and they were like, I'm gonna stop it, it's crazy. But one thing I've liked about the energy drinks, that's like, I feel like they're like becoming a trendy thing. Like they're everywhere now, they'll be a mommy. - They're cutesy. - They're cutesy. I do like it because like, mama can't have multiple coffees a day or I'll be running to the bathroom every two seconds and I feel like that isn't it? - That's an energy drink. - It's not safe. - No, it's, but they, they are saying it's quite problematic with the young people. They're saying they're drinking with like, - Well, that one girl drank like that. - Five in a day. - Yeah, she died. - Yeah, she died. - Whoa, I missed that one. - Yeah, sorry. - I don't know, allegedly, allegedly they're, they're thinking that would play to part in her death, right? - Yes, I think something happened with her heart. - Something happened with her heart. - And there was like a lot of conversation about like how it's being heavily targeted towards young people. - Yeah, I remember when we were like in college, it was like, if it was an energy drink, it was a monster. And like that was the only one you had. And it was like, it was an intense environment during the last two years. It wasn't a cutesy thing where you were like at the library. You were like, if you were, if you saw one of your friends said they were the monster, you're like, don't fuck with Jessica. She is like about to have a nightmare. - Yeah, she's got a 10 page paper and no AI. - Or I can just take it like, in the energy drinks we're like this. - They were the guests. - They were not cute. They were so burly and you're just like slapping that on the desk. It's just like, yeah, you feel like you're just like Alex Fee by her own well. Like she just is doing her brand now. - Oh, is she? - I saw Kim Kay just launched that. - They're all. - But they're being said, this is the thing. - They're cutesy cutesy. - I heard they're not good. The energy drinks, they're taking everything that men are addicted to and then they're sending it to women, making it cute. But also all the men are infertile from how much monster they were drinking. - I think a lot of reasons, yeah, for sure. - I have a lot of friends who went through infertility and they're doctors like you have to stop drinking like to the husbands. - I also think we're one of two. There's a ton coming out on because think about how much recreationally and decently not knocking marijuana in any way, shape or form, but they're like tying that and trying to protect things. - Yeah, I mean, I guess it's all like I have two friends who are in a similar situation. Their husband stops and they were able to do that. - I think this is important for young women to hear. We both did IDF, you know? - Yeah. - But I would say oftentimes we hear about infertility and we think it's on the woman. - Well, first off, so much of the work becomes on us to do fertility treatments. - Yeah, the boys just jizzin' a cup with a dream. - I have the craziest thing that happened to Matt, what he had to do that though. (laughing) - Well, I'll give my PSA first real quick, which is that I would say 50% of my friends who did fertility treatments, it was because of their husband. Their husband had the fertility issues, not them, but I think there's this stigma that something's like wrong with women or like women or, sometimes it's the men. - No, I think we don't talk about that nearly enough that a lot of times it's male factor in fertility. - Yeah. - And I don't think young men know anything about that or be any attention to that. So I wanted to say that, but on a different note, Matt went in, Matt only had to give two samples, like when when we were doing genetic testing, when when we were doing embryos. When we went in for genetic testing, he goes in, he comes out whenever he's like, first off, this is already awkward, right? You're going into this room. - Everybody knows you're tracking on. - Everybody knows you're doing it in there. - Literally 80s porn. - But he's like, there's a chair, right? - Yeah, but he's like, this is a chair, but it's like a doctor's office. So there's the sheet of paper, they pull down whatever. I guess they forgot to clean his room. And on the chair was not what you think there was, it was a big hooch mirror from whoever had been sitting there before him. And he was like, and yet I'm in this room. I'm expected to perform that's on my chair. And he said, so then he's like, so then I just stood in a corner and didn't do what I had to do. - I just faced a lot of stupid excuses. - While there was shit on the chair, I was a sicko shit in the chair. - I think they probably didn't wipe their butt. - Yeah. - I think they had us. - He was like, you have to get fully naked. - Can't you just kind of flip it out? - I don't think you just flip it out when you're doing it. - I don't know, but to be that naked with like your ass cheeks, like, I'm right. - Yes, brother, not that there was a stain. - Girl, I don't know. - I know, I don't know. - That's quite messy. - Gently traumatized. He's like, this is already a really uncomfortable situation. And then I was in this room with some other man. And I can't believe they didn't even like, a quick glance to be like, - I can't believe they see the shit on the chair. - And I'm sure that obviously could have come out. And like, can you clean this? But that's even like more awkward. Can you come clean the shit so I can jack off and just, I don't know, it's all awkward. - Well, that's what I said. I was like, you didn't ask them like, maybe if you could have another room or like, he's like, I only had so much time. 'Cause I was also, I made him do too many things at one time. Like, I was at a doctor's point with my son at the hospital across the street. And I was like, you have 25 minutes. - Go do it. - And so he was probably like, I have no time to complain about the damage. - We had sweat and blood. - Sweat and boobs, bitch. - He was like, I have to do it right now. I was like, right now, I'm at the foul lines. - I don't even sweat and getting ready to be honest. I don't even know if I told him we were doing it that day. Right now. - I'll never forget after my first egg retrieval. I was like waking up from the anesthesia and the OR and Luke was like, don't worry. I mean, I did the hard part. 'Cause he had just done a cop and I was like, thank you. - Yeah. - 'Cause it happens on the same day, right? We do it at the same time. - If you want a fresh sample. 'Cause you can do a frozen sample and they can fall. - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Fresh fresh. - Anyway. - Fresh fresh. - Before you go on their word to the wise Fendi Mineruist, and he just checked the chair. But now that it makes me, every time I go into my doctor's office, I double check the paper before anything happens. I'm like, is the bed clean? Is everything clean? - Which is supposed to be the bare minimum. - I don't think a woman would ever do that, though. Women hide their underwear when there's a doctor around. - You fold them and put it in your pocket. - Yeah, I see inside my vagina, but God, they can't see my underwear. - I could never see a situation where a woman would leave a doctor's office with shit on the chair. - No. - Are you kidding me? I'd like to get chlorox in there, and rub down the whole thing. - We would make the paper off. - Ball it up, put it away, and pull the sheet down. - Yeah, like a normal human being. - But we wouldn't have shit on our ass in the first place. - Yeah, we would wipe. - Yeah. - Or anyway, all of that, though. - We have a lot to say, but we really gotta go. We got some stuff we gotta do tonight. - I'm excited stuff. - Bye. - Bye. - Bye. - Thank you so much for listening to The Justice Girls Podcast.
