[thunder] The cemeteries were always places of silence and respect. People visit their loved ones, demonstrating the lack that they do. Flowers bloom in the graves and lawns, a place of peace and solitude. But this is only during the day, when the sun sets, things change drastically. At night, all cemeteries are a place of discomfort. Passing in front of their walls and gates, awakens the instincts of the body's alertness. We all know that within those walls, there are things that people do not know. The "finging" that does not exist. Welcome, strangers. How long have we not seen each other? Sit down and listen carefully, because today we are going to talk about another place where we will not go. The Consolation Cemetery. The oldest necropolis in the city of São Paulo, officially founded in 1858. However, it started its operation in 1829. It has an area of more than 76,000 square meters and is one of the references in Brazilian art. It is the place of the eternal rest of important figures, such as the Matarazo family, the Marqueza de Santos, and Monteiro Lobato. But the Consolation Cemetery also houses stories and reports of events that are not common at all. Its employees say that strange visitors are seen every day, some even when the gates are closed. It is said that at a certain time, in a very dark rain, two men were sighted standing in front of a jazzy. The two men looked closely at the tunnel, and strangely, their clothes seemed to not wet even under the heavy rain. There are stories telling that an elderly woman dressed in black can be seen walking through the cemetery right after sunset. It is not known who really can be, but every time she was seen, it was in the vicinity of the tomb of Domitila de Castro Canto Imelo, the Marqueza de Santos. It may be that the Marqueza still feels the miss of its eternal lover, Dom Pedro I, and leaves at dusk in search of his beloved. There is also a very peculiar tomb, of an American young man called George C. Egg. He died at a time when the costs of sending a body to his country of origin were exorbitant. So his colleagues at work warned the family that he chose for the burial here. His tomb is simple, and his pencil says only, "erected by his friends", or "erguido por seus amigos". They say that when the tomb remains very close to it for a long time, people feel a huge sense of miss, of something they do not know, or that they cannot explain. The tomb of the Matarazu family, the largest mausoleum in the local, also has its range of stories. Funerals say that it is possible to hear, regularly, screams and shouts coming from within the great sepulchre. The air inside the building is very cold, even in the warmest days. But what draws the most attention is a widely known and documented fact. During the burial of one of the daughters of the Matarazu family's patriarch, one of the covers had a bad fate, and died during the sepulchre. Since then, the employees and trans-euntes claim to see a man dressed in a uniform of work, admiring the great tomb, and when they try to approach, the man simply disappears into the air. When the night falls, the statues seem to gain life, their stone and metal eyes seem to follow who walks among the tombs, judging them, or even trying to alert them, that they should not be there. So be careful when you go in front, or even enter the cemetery of the consulate. You never know who can accompany you when you leave.
