[Music] Luke 11 from verse 1, Luke 11 from verse 1, "It came to pass that as he was praying," "so the context matters," "it's as he was praying," "so he wasn't just at any other time," "it was during the moment of prayer." Well, if you're a student of scriptures, you know that Jesus was a man of prayer, am I right? Oh, he was a man given to a lot of praying, a lot of praying. It's impossible to study the life and the ministry of Jesus without being impressed with his prayer life. He was given to a lot of praying. And on one of such occasions, the Bible says that as he was praying, so I presume that the disciples were not praying. I presume that they were observing what was happening and the Bible says that as he was praying and then the Bible says, "when he ceased," as was praying in his certain place, is when he ceased. So they were waiting for him. They observed his prayers and the Bible says that when he ceased, one of his disciples said, "On to him, Lord, teach us to pray." Just to put it in context, the disciples were Jews. And if you know anything about the Jewish culture, it was a culture of prayer. I mean, so they were not, they were not prayerless. A lot of times when we read that we think that these were prayerless people there were, like we say, prayerless Christians. They were not prayerless people. They were given to prayer. In fact, you know that a couple of Jesus' disciples came from John the Baptist. Am I right? But a few of John's disciples, they put it to Jesus' ministry, glory to God. You know, because it's from those days, men are also loyal after all. They saw that Jesus was the new guy in town, like, "Man, John, and John did the right thing, man. Bless you, man. Don't hold people. Don't fight people. Don't curse people." John released them and they left. Okay. And so they had joined Jesus. And if you observe what they said, they said, "Titious to pray as John taught his disciples to pray." And some of those disciples were amongst Jesus' disciples. Now, so these were people who had been taught by the Jewish culture on how to pray. A couple of them had been taught by John how to pray. So the issue was not that they were prayerless. The issue was not that this was the first time they were seen someone pray. Are you following what I'm saying here? So there must have been something about the prayer life of Jesus that made them say to themselves, "What is it about Jesus? What is it about His prayer?" We want this. And they said, "Lord, teach us to pray." He says, "John also taught his disciples." There are three things I believe they saw about the prayer life of Jesus that set their hearts in so much measure that they said, "Lord, teach us to pray." I mean, you know, they had lived with Jesus. They saw Him perform miracles. They never asked Him, "Lord, teach us to heal the sick." He was the most phenomenal teacher in fact, so much so that the Bible tells us that the people said, "How come He teaches with so much authority?" Not like the scribes and the Pharisees. They had been on that one of the most powerful teaching ministries that you will ever, ever, ever know. And yet the Bible tells us that Jesus, I mean, they never said to Jesus, "Hey, teach us to heal the sick." Teach us to perform miracles. What did they say to Jesus? Teach us to pray. It means prayer can be taught. Are you following what I'm saying? Prayer can be taught. It means that they saw something about the prayer life of Jesus that they knew that their own prayer life was not like this. There was something different about it. Now, three things I believe that they saw about the prayer life of Jesus that set their hearts in such a way that they said, "Lord, teach us to pray." Number one is this. I believe they saw Jesus' utter dependence on prayer. The soul is utter dependence on prayer. What do I mean by the soul is utter dependence on prayer? They saw that prayer was not an emotional thing for Jesus. It was not an occasional thing. They saw that prayer was not something he did when he felt like, "Are you following this?" It was not something he did because it was convenient. It was not something that he did because it was the religious, religious Bible prayer every day. It was far more than that they saw the utter dependence of Jesus on prayer. They must have, I mean, I read to you at the watch tower about how that the Bible tells us that one time Jesus left them wherever they were and the Bible says he went into a solitary place and when they had found him to find Konotesi such. Am I right? They must have searched and searched everywhere. Where's this guy? And all of a sudden, most likely it was his groanings and his voice. They used to trace him because they must have said, "Where is he?" "Oh, I'm hearing a voice like his voice." Finally, they found him and they found him praying. One time he just finished meeting. I mean, massive meeting, massive crusade and all the rest. And I'm sure they were there just excited. You know the way we are in ministry. Like, "Man, look at this. Look at the miracles. Look at all of that." And the Bible says Jesus told them, "Well, go to the other side. Put them on a ship and he went into the depth and into the depth of the woods to go and pray." And it was about the thought watch of the night you remember the story. He came walking on the water towards them but he had gone the entire night to pray and I'm sure they were wondering, did we not just what is he praying about again after all the wheelchairs that were emptied, after all the deaf ears that popped up and he's not on a good time to rest. Is that not a good time just to take a break? Have you ever been told, "Take a break? This your prayer is much." Just take a break. They saw the utter dependence of Jesus on prayer. It would seem as though he could do nothing except by prayer. That's the first thing they saw. Number two, please write down. Lord, teach us to pray. And tonight he will teach us to pray. Oh, that amen is weak. I said tonight he will teach you to pray. Listen to me. The Lord said to me many years ago as a student on campus and I've shared this several times. I was at the foot of the cross and I remember exactly where I was when the word of the Lord came to me. University of Lagos, Chapel Grounds, he said, "Son, if I can make you a man of prayer, I have made you a success." Those words ring loud in my ears, even till now, if I can make you a man of prayer, I've made you a success. I believe it with all of my heart. I believe it. I believe that disciples must have fought to themselves. If we can pray like he prays, then we can get the result he has. There's something about his prayer life that is completely different from what we saw with the Pharisees. Oh, even Jesus himself alluded to the fact that the Pharisees prayed and they prayed a lot. Jesus said it himself. He said, "Don't be like the Pharisees who pray." The hypocrites. He said, "Don't be like them." He said, "Don't use vain repetitions like them." He knew that they prayed, but there was something about his own prayer life that the disciples said, "Lord, teach us to pray." Number one, the utter dependence of Jesus on prayer. Somebody put it this way. He said, "Everything by prayer, nothing without prayer." Oh, please write it down. "Everything by prayer, nothing without prayer." "Everything by prayer, nothing without prayer." Please, I want to beg you. In a bit sometimes to stress bridge out shoots as pastors and as ministers and every teacher, everyone who instructs God's people in the Word of God has fallen into this trap. There's nobody, including one standing before you. There is nobody who would say he has, I mean, he's exempted completely of this thing. Every single one who consistently teaches God's Word, one of the things that we do many times. And it's not out of ill, ill, ill, or whatever it is. It's just from the desire of our hearts to bless people. It's to stress a truth of God's Word to the exclusion of every other thing. So you hear people say things like, "Look at all the prayer we are praying in, in the name of God, if prayer and law we change a nation, the name of God should have changed." Have you heard that before? And you hear from pastors, stuff like that. In a bit to try to stress the fact that there is human responsibility. We then put forth to people that listen, we don't have to pray like that anymore. It's human responsibility that is required. Here's the truth. Prayer is required. Human responsibility is required. So many funnily ones I'm saying here. Number one, otter dependence on prayer. That's the first thing. Number two thing that they saw in the life of Jesus was his confidence in using prayer to get results. They saw a man who thought to himself. And you know I said this to someone. I don't remember exactly where I was saying, "All right, it was the leaders." I was saying to them yesterday. And I said, "You know many times when I will read the Bible, particularly the gospels."

orneys naznak tsukin godstanpoins and then you are sent to yourself you know this happened because he is god most likely they were querying how come he could use Lazarus from the dead now can I tell you something? listen to what Jesus said father I thank you for that he rest me how many times? so something struck inside their hearts that is Lazarus that came out of the grave four days dead was as a result of his prayer life do you understand what I am saying? you are not in the emotions of the moment you are not in the reality of the moment so you don't understand the gravity of all of us happening there a man is four days dead he tells them roll away the tomb roll away the stone pad on me and then everybody is looking at him what he would eat you and then he looks up and says father I want to thank you for I know that that was hurt me he says but I am saying all that I am saying just so that these people around me will believe it is not because of you or because of me the people around me the confidence that he had in prayer that he thought that he haven't prayed a man four days dead could come out of the grave can I say at one time he had gone some and I am a model of the story he said he had gone maybe he was preaching in a meeting or something like that and then he was in the past and age of the past away he was invited something like that and he I think they were doing something to pray and a little boy maybe six years or seven years old maybe six years old seven years old seven years of age or whatever it is said I notice a difference between your prayer his father was a pastor the pastor who is thinking again he said I notice a difference between your prayer and this man's prayer he said when you are praying it does not look like you are expecting God to answer he said but when this man is praying he looks as though he knows God will hear him are you following what I am saying you know that half of the church if not more than half of the church do not genuinely believe that their prayers will be answered they hope that their prayers will be answered there is a difference you can hope that God will be good to you and you can have confidence that God hears your prayer there are two different things you can hope and say that oh God I really hope I mean you know and it's that sense of and particularly because people have had a lot of prayer failures in their life so there is that I just hope that this one at least this time it will work and address this is why a man was called the dance in the ability to get answers from God to prayer please this next couple of weeks where I am teaching this do not miss church did he ever say it please listen to me don't wait listen you don't teach people you don't teach people who are not ready to learn is the one who said Lord teach us to pray and do you observe that Jesus did not call them and say let me teach you to pray is when they said teach us to pray they out like they need that the curriculum that Jesus opened the books I was saying somewhere yesterday to the leaders I said to them I said you can never be trained beyond your hunger you can never you can never have revelation beyond your desire it's not possible you can never have light you can never have revelation beyond your hunger so when he said teach us to pray he would look at it the Bible immediately says Jesus just began to this is in this manner you can't even see anything almost as you are been waiting for you guys have been waiting for you guys and that's the posture verse after our this series Lord teach me to pray if you can pray there's no difficulty you can't some mount are you hearing what I'm saying here I'm not saying if you are engaged in prayer if you know to pray do you understand what I'm saying if you know to pray there's a burdeness with which you face life the confidence with which you face life the second thing that we damn sure they saw in Jesus was the confidence that confidence must have been heard in his prayers the 12 of them were sitting and they were listening to the way he was talking they were listening to the boldness the authority in his prayer they were listening and they were observing that this guy was not just a Pharisee repeating then repetitions and all the rest just hoping that they saw something about the prayer life and they said this is different this is what we want they said teach us to pray don't it is a empathos with it teach us they are principles to this thing number three they saw number one he's what dependence number two they saw his confidence now if you see somebody dependent on something if you see somebody confident in something if you don't see the manifestation of the results then you will say he's just a religious person then you will say he's just a religious person I'm alright so number three they saw the results of his prayer this was not just somebody who said I'm praying and you know God will answer sometimes when he wants to answer and at other times he will not answer this was a man that they saw pray they looked at him praying and every now and then they saw the manifestation of the things for example, critical example a man told them I have prayed to God God has heard me because God has heard me Lazarus is going to leave and before they are very eyes a man who was four days dead came out from the grave and he attributed it not to an anointing of the Holy Spirit not to an office that he stood in do you understand what I'm saying here that if Jesus has said further I thank you for you have anointed me as a prophet he would have removed that manifestation from the purview of the genesis from the purview of the general believers we would have said to ourselves that the reason why this happened is because Jesus is a prophet so it's excluded to the prophetic ministry but you only listen he told us he happened was I thank you for you hear me that's all it was on the premise and the power of prayer which means if a man can lend the principles and pray like Jesus there is nothing dead that cannot come alive are you hearing what I'm saying here not a gift of the spirit not an anointing of the Holy Ghost not a spiritual office in which you stand in not a ministry office but a believer who has a relationship with his father so they saw his dependence they saw number two what his confidence and number three what did they see they saw the manifestation of the results let's talk a bit about the results you see because when he studied through the scriptures it is impossible for you to read through the scriptures and study about prayer without you realizing that prayer was more a business deal than a religious exercise in the Bible do you understand what I just said listen to me this is where the switch you have to make this is the switch this is the number one reason we have so many prayer failures in the body of Christ prayer is more a religious exercise for believers than a business deal for believers listen when I say business deal I mean this if I come to you and I give you five naira or ten naira and you tell me that the value of your sneakers or whatever it is is ten naira you get what I'm saying that's what you're selling and then I bring out of my pocket ten naira and I give you the money what do I expect you'll happen naturally give me the sneakers am I surprised that you gave me the sneakers come on talk to me have you seen that a lot of believers are surprised that they are prayers are answered because it is religious exercise for them not a business deal Jesus said if you ask you will what receive and your joy will what be full business deal if I bring ten naira out of my pocket Fenート como era perilo para slamir bitch gun di Elisuru Pure Pedra Princioria Pf "I am singing for him, I start singing for him, I start singing for him." And then out of the benevolence of his art, he says, "Ah, what is it that you want? Is that sneakers?" Then he brings out the sneakers and he gives it to me. What do I do? I say, "Ah, I've never seen this kind of thing happen." But if I pad for it, let's examine a few of the statements that were made in the New Testament about prayer. For example, first John V chapter, what is Jesus, what the blessed are we John, they are also. What did he say? This is the what? Confidence. Do you see that? This is the boldness. All right. What it calls in Hebrew is the fourth chapter. He says, "Let us come how?" "Holy." Do you understand the statement here? He means, "Let us come and just hope that God in His messes." He says, "Let us come what? Holy." You know when you don't have boldness is when your money is not complete. And do you know the people that use vain repetitions the most are the people that negotiate the more? When your money is not complete, then you have to be negotiated as a, "No, come a time. No, come a time. No, come a time. I won't come a time. No, you must come a time. I won't come a time." Then you now leave and say, "I'm not buying again. I'm looking back. Is it going to come me back?" And both of you are waiting. And do you get around saying, "That's what a lot of people are doing in prayer. You know why their money is not complete?" If you are carrying your ten-nighter, give me my sneakers. Put it in a bag for me. How can I leave you? And what you mean you don't have a career bag? No, this is nonsense. Somebody that has removed 100,000 from something you are supposed to pay for. And you're going to ask for a career bag again. You will carry your thing by yourself and you start living. Say, "Yeah, before I change this is mind." You know, that's how a lot of people approach prayer. Let's examine this. This is the confidence we have. First John. Let's look at it. First John chapter is that. Chapter five. I believe the 14 verse or something like that. Let me just show you one or two scriptures there very quickly. "Boss, doubt, in other songs wherever you are for a second." For a second. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Look at first John chapter five and verse 14. Let's look at these very quickly. First John chapter five, verse 14. Listen to me. It is impossible. Please hear me and hear me well. It is impossible for you to become all God has called you to be without developing a prayer life. But you can have a prayer life that is not accurate. So that's why I said, "Teach us to pray." So people are praying. Like the disciples of Jesus were praying. They came from John the Baptist. They came from the Jews. So they were praying. But they were not seeing the kind of result Jesus was seeing. So they said, "Teach us to pray." So it's not enough to be praying. There's an accuracy to the prayer life. I used to be with me tonight. Look at this first John chapter five and the fourthteenth verse. Everybody with a loud voice read it. Want to go? Now please, does this sound like a baggalli element? What does this say? This is the confidence that we have in him. Now I'm going to come back to this in just a bit. Not in our prayers. I'm going to come to it in just a bit. Because this is where people pray and miss their confidences in their prayers. I have prayed six hours. That. Let's read it together. Let's start from the beginning again. Want to go? That if we ask how many things come with a loud voice shout it, "MFN." If we ask how many things are called deemed to his will, he wants. Read the next thing he says, verse 15, want to go. And if we know that he hears us, please that's where I need you to stop. If we know, the question is do you know? Let me jump the gun. I mean I was going to get to this in just a bit, but let me jump the gun. I'm still talking about the results of prayer. Because they saw results in Jesus' life. And we need to identify what those results are. But I'm trying to stress to you that prayer is a business proposition. It's not a religious exercise. We're not doing it just because it's a nice thing to do. And then we feel good because as believers we have now prayed. Anytime you reach through the New Testament, there was a sense of if you do this this you call. If you do this this should happen. It wasn't a case of you can't do it then. Maybe we are not sure what will happen. There was a deafeningness around it that must be in our expectation in prayer. Look at what he says. He says if we know that he hears us the power of prayer is not in itself. The power of prayer isn't the God that he has it. This is important. If you don't set to this alien of your prayer life, you will turn prayer into a legalistic element, a legalistic tool. It will become a tool of piety and pride. It will become a tool to negotiate your spirituality. Are you get what I'm saying? So you feel in yourself that you are a better Christian than the others who are not praying as long as you are praying. You feel in yourself that you are a better Christian than the others who don't have the kind of tongues that you have. But can I tell you something that the real evidence of prayer is the results. You know that I am the one quick enough to tell you that length of time in prayer matters. But length of time in prayer does not mean you are praying right. Somebody is still here tonight. Please we are beauty of here. We are laying foundations for a sound prayer life. Let's go back there verse 59. If we know that he hears us, that's the question. Do you know he hears you? What did Jesus say when he came to the tomb of Lazarus? Father, I thank you for I know. So what is the big deal in prayer? Is it the loudness of my voice or the length of time spent in prayer? Come on talk to me. What is the big deal in prayer? If we know that he hears us, that statement is not an empty statement. I will show you how powerful that statement is. In just a bit. In fact, you will find out that 90% of your prayer life will be to overcome what is called this impasse. That impasse of knowing that he hears you. That prayer is what actually makes you know that he hears you. And that when you know he hears you then you can then pray the prayer of the Titian. It's in the prayer fellowship that you know him. You see, the more you know somebody, the more confidence you have in their ability. Not only is it that you have confidence in their ability, you have confidence in the fact that they will use their ability for you. Do you understand what I'm saying? You can never have confidence in their ability of somebody you don't know. You can tout it, you can say it's powerful, but you will always be in doubt about their ability number one and their willingness to use that ability for you. It is as I know him more that I know that he hears me. Is somebody get what I'm saying? Now, here's the problem. Not many people have got into the point where they know that he heard them. So they spent six hours to try to overcome that doubt. They will shout louder and pray longer. But the key thing is that if we know that he hears it, look at the next thing he says. And see how powerful it is. He says, if we know that he heard us whatsoever we ask everybody read on what does he say, we know that we have the petitions that we desire to hear. Look again into John chapter 15. John chapter 15. Do you remember when Jesus said, if you pray in the secret, your father will reward you where openly. It is if you pray in the secret well, God will just say you have prayed. Which means if I'm praying in the secret and I'm not seeing openly words, then I should question God on why should I be praying then? Because the proposition is simple. My path is to praying the secret. Your path is to reward me openly. It becomes a religious exercise when I say that I'm praying in the secret and it's just okay that I'm praying in the secret. I'm scoring spiritual points with people and with myself and praying in the secret. That's religion. It's a business proposition and deal when I know that there are two parts to it. I will pray in the secret. So when I'm done praying in the secret, it is your job to reward me openly. That means you're going to do something in my life that I could never have done for myself or no human could have done for me. Somebody hear me when I'm saying, "This is important. Pray I just don't tell you this exercise." Look how it is saying, John chapter 15 and the 7, John 15 and the 7. Look, and this is Jesus talking if you know it's in red. Let's read together what does this say? "I want to go. If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will. It shall be done unto you." Everybody read verse 8, very important. Want to go? Hearing is my father glorified. Now hold on. Hearing is my father glorified that you pray. Is it the prayer that glorifies him? What glorifies him? Remember the context. Go back to the previous verse. Please stay with me tonight. This is important. Everybody want to go. If you abide in me and your words abide in you.
"Abi'idin mea'in mai'in moa'idin you'in, 'You shall ask what you will and you shall what, be done unto you.' So, what are we talking about? Prayer." Are you following this here? So, if I'm interpreting anything that he's saying in this context, he must be interpreted in the light of what? Prayer. Now, so you go to the next verse, verse 8, and then you see that the fruit he's talking about, he has not the fruit of the Spirit. It's not necessarily the fruit of character. Need is he talking about just the fruit of souls? Now, can prayer produce the fruit of the Spirit? Yes. Will prayer produce the fruit of souls? Yes. But he's talking about fruits in general as the salts of prayer. Which means a believer who does not know how to pray will be fruitless in Kingdom matters. Please look at what he says. Look at this verse. I want us to deal with a loud voice. What was he saying? Here in his father glorified, not that all of you came together, you held your hands together, and you are doing yourself. That's nonsense. That's absolutely nonsense. It's utter nonsense. And then the excitement of a generation is in the expressions they have in prayer. The excitement of a generation is indeed, you know, the, what do I call it here? And those expressions, possible, yes. Oh my goodness. If you really pray, you get to points where you shock yourself at the kind of things that will be coming out of your mouth. Grownings that you cannot utter. But I can't live the place of prayer and feel that because of groaning, then I have become a giant. No. Here in his my father glorified, not in that you asked, but that you're asking produce something. Here in his my father glorified. This is what brings glory to him. Here is my father glorified that you bear what much. If you know anything about English, much is used when he's on countable. Which means we'll look into your life and we can count the fruits of prayer that we are seeing in your life. So we must reorient our minds. Please, we're building up to something tonight. We must reorient our minds that prayer is not a religious thing. Prayer is a powerful tool that God has given to the believer. And Satan will do everything to reduce it to a religious exercise for you. He will do everything. He will do everything because it's not the acts that produces power. It's the understanding behind the acts that produces power. Somebody shout with me, "Lord teach me to pray." No, I need you to shout it as though your life depends on it. Lord teach me to pray. Let me tell you something. No man on earth will escape the day when he needs prayer. And that day, they will come that day when nobody's prayer can deliver you but your prayer. Oh yes, every human will come to that point. Everybody. I hope you've learned to pray before that time. That's the prayer. That's actually the real prayer that you've learned to pray before you get to that point. Let me ask you a question. What can God do? Come and talk to me. What is impossible to God? If God hears our prayer, what is impossible to our prayer? Because it's not prayer that is powerful. It's God that is powerful. It's not prayer. Pray in the Holy Ghost for one minute. Wherever you are, pray in the spirit. Pray in the spirit. Palata vata cabaya. Pray in the spirit wherever you are. Whether you're online or on site, across our churches, pray in the spirit. Sobra da vela to cabaya. Shabalaba antabradaba locus, ke brata la ba shanda cabaya. Mentuprada balaba shanda la ba da ba da ba da ba da ba da ba da ba kata la ba da. It's not the act of praying that gets results. It's not the act of praying that is the powerful thing. It's a hearing father. It's a father that hears prayer. Therefore, we don't magnify the act of prayer. Rather, we magnify the hearing father. The merciful father, somebody listen to what I'm saying here. We don't magnify the act of prayer. Is somebody getting what I'm saying? Our confidence is not in the act of prayer. This is the confidence we have in him, not in the prayer. Remember, when Elijah was going to prove who is God in Israel, what did he use to prove who is God? He said, "The God that answered it by fire, we have built an entire world out of that statement, but whether he said by fire or by water or by ton that does not matter. What he was saying is not the fire that was the issue. What he was saying is this, that the God that answers, and answers in a token that cannot be mistaken." Do you understand what I'm saying? Which means he's saying that if you want to know the God of Zion, if you want to know the God of Israel, the God of the Church, he's not the God who stores prayer. This is the defining factor of the God of Zion. So much so, he says, "My house shall be called a house of water." Prayer! It's a defining factor for the church. It's not just religion, it's a defining factor. If a Christian begins to modify just that act of prayer, the engagement in prayer, pride sets in. Legalism sets in. Legalism sets in. You become very legalistic and walks oriented in your mind. Where you now think that if I do six hours, my prayers would have been heard. And you don't understand the reason for the six hours and will come to that in just a bit. You become very legalistic in your mind. Where you think is the volume of your prayers. Where you think is all of those things. If you've been here long enough, you know that I believe in animated prayers. The Bible says, "The effector of having prayer or the right just man." Effector, heart fails, fathens, boiling hot, not manda. You know, because let me tell you something here. There are lots of believers who just, they're just turning their head everywhere in church. I mean, you can't read that from scriptures. It's not temperament. Don't say it's my temper, I'm just a very calm person. Are you calm when they are giving injection? Are you calm when the dog is chasing you? Have you ever seen somebody running calmly? I'm just very calm. Glory to God. When life hits temperament jumps out the window. Have you seen a very, very, very flagmatic woman delivering in labor room? I say, "I'm just a flag." They say, "Push." Is there anything like flagmatic labor? Come on, talk to me. Have you ever had of introverted labor? I don't talk much. My voice is not loud. Why are we not hearing your voice in labor room? I'm an introvert. You are not pushing that way. If you are really pushing, we hear your voice. Are you hearing what I'm saying? The success of prayer is not in the length of how much, but in the fruit thereof. Like I said, God is not glorified because you prayed. He's glorified because your prayer both fruits. Are we here? Now, can we define clearly the rewards of prayer or the results of prayer? Which means, what do we see in scriptures as they expect deadly rewards? It says, "If you pray in the secret and all by the way, if you really matute the sixth chapter, we'll come to that." >>Muah!
Matthew the sixth chapter, that's what Jesus said as preamble to what we know as the Lord's prayer that he answered them in Luke 11. So in Luke 11 when they said teachers to present prayer after this manna, a father who had an ebon and then he listed all of those things. But if he jokes that positive with Matthew the sixth chapter, it would seem almost as though that he gave them a preamble in Matthew chapter 6 from verse 5 downwards when down prayers, when blah blah blah, an orderous orderous and then he got into the content of the prayer which is a father which had an ebon, hallowed be the name blah blah, an orderous orderous. So the question is what are the expected rewards to prayer of prayer? What are the expected rewards? If you read Luke chapter 11 when Jesus said to pray, he said our father who had an ebon, hallowed be thy name and if we can put it up on the screen, when you pray say our father which had it and the first thing you notice here is this that this is struck chart. So you can't have a genuine and a powerful prayer life without struck chart to it. If somebody follow what I'm saying, if I got my be one of the most powerful things to learn about prayer that a struck chart prayer life is actually one of the first steps to having an effective prayer life and by struck chart I mean struck chart systematic consistent, I've shared this several times what the Lord said to me, he said in the natural everything that sustains life, I put it on a rhythm, I didn't leave it to you to be inspired to do it. For example, you don't wait on inspiration to breathe, am I right? I'm one of you are inspired to breathe in and out, show me your inspiration, you're inspired and sometimes I just more inspired than all that time is to breathe more. And then at all that times you are very uninspired so you don't breathe, just hold it, I'm not in the mood. I'm not in the mood to breathe, you're just not in the mood. Everything that sustains the human life got put on a rhythm, he didn't wait for your inspiration, he put it on a rhythm, there's a time your body shuts down to sleep, am I right? For some of you it has cut up but at least the reason you know it has cut up is that you know they're supposed to be a pattern, do you come up with anything? That's why you know that this thing has cut out, you've taken coffee now, your body doesn't know night and day anymore, you've I mean you've you're entire been alright, so I'm just telling you stop drinking coffee like that, alright, can EWK say, can you on set something that changed my life? Simples, Simples on the road to success, he wrote there, he said the greatest alarm that a man can have is in a soul, not an alarm clock, I believe it's because most of you alarm doesn't have a wiki, you snooze it at the end of the day, are you following what I'm saying? So we don't do, I mean the things that sustains our human life is not, God does not give you to be, you're just excited, you can imagine the day you're unhappy, you stop Britain, you know some of you are unhappy, you don't go to church, some of you are unhappy, you don't call your friends again, imagine that God now adept the things you can choose to do to breathe in, adept breathing on the list, so you just get unhappy and you say I'm not Britain again, you just start telling yourself not eating since morning till now what's the essence of Britain, what's the essence, what's the essence, so you now stop the Britain, have you not observed that even when you're to sleep at the point your body just tells you it's time to what's sleep same way the things that sustain spiritual life cannot be left to inspiration, they must be put on a rhythm, if somebody following what I'm saying here, let me tell you this here, you do not have a vital spiritual life, if certain things are not on rhythm, two of them very important prayer number one number two meditation, not also did you know, did you know is not what feeds us, a lot of people read the word and listen to messages, they don't meditate on it, meditation is where you break down the word till it becomes a part of you and you ingest it, reading is you going to the pantry to gada, are you get what I'm saying here, reading is you going to the pantry you gada whatever it is and then maybe you are blessed to in the ministry where teaching is everything, they cook it for you but meditation is eaten, you are not eating now I hope you know we are serving you, this where many believers go to church from for 10 years and their lives don't change because they can be put in food in front of you no matter how powerful the food is, it is not the presence of food that feeds, is the eaten, are you following what I'm saying here, what I'm doing here is simply providing food for you if you don't go back at 2 a.m. and then you close the door yourself, you are playing soft music on the ground and you are meditating on the things that have been said you have not eaten, this is why a lot of believers know so much but there is little power, are we still here tonight, is anybody getting anything tonight, what are the results to prayer, you see in that model prayer please put back Luke 11 verse 2 on my own screen there, you see that the first thing I says our father which I have at an heaven hallowed be thy name so the first thing is that prayer is a tool of devotion, the result of that because if something is a tool, if he says a screwdriver was the result of a screwdriver being used, they should unlock, I mean, screws, am I right and they should lock screws in, am I right, so if you say it's a tool of devotion our father which at an heaven hallowed be thy name it means that prayer will produce edification and growth, edification and growth because the essence of devotion is not because God is obsessed with your worship, I'll show you in just a bit, the essence of devotion is that as we see him we are changed, it's not him that is changed, as we behold him we are changed, are you following what I'm saying here, he's not the one that is changed, as we spend time in his presence we are the ones who have been identified, we are the ones who are being changed, are you following what I'm saying, we are the ones who are being transformed, so devotion is not primarily about God, is primarily about us, so the first thing you notice that prayer is a tool of devotion, this is how we we we fellowship with the father and may I say this to you the bulk of your prayer should actually be devotion, that's the I mean the bulk of your prayer life should be devotion, now every other thing please stay with me tonight, every other thing we use prayer for is predicated on this first one, your effectiveness in this order, aspects of prayer will always be directly correlated to your effectiveness in this first aspect, which means if you fail in devotion you will fail in petition, if you fail in devotion you will fail in intercession, if you fail in devotion you will fail in warfare, I've already told you the four things where I used for the tools and I'll give them to you clearly in just a bit, but your your prayer life and your results in this order aspects is predicated on this first one, which means prize a tool of devotion, it is how we fellowship with the father and in that fellowship we are identified we are transformed, we are conformed to the image of his son, somebody get who I'm saying here, it is in that place of fellowship that we know that he here retts, do you understand what I'm saying here, you are worshiping and you are praying and then because of your revelation of the father it is easy for you to then go out of devotion and start speaking to situations and expect them to answer because now you are not looking at yourself or your ability, neither are you looking at the prayer, you are looking at the one you know and you cannot have faith in a person beyond your knowledge of them, you can't, you can't have faith in a person beyond your knowledge of them, can't stand the bai hinge give you a million a hundred thousand dollars, why, he doesn't know stand the bai hinge, he doesn't know him, there's nobody like stand the bai hinge, do you understand what I'm saying here, you know why, he does not even know, I mean because he's do you understand what I'm saying, but if I said to you that can, can I give you a million dollars, what do you say, do you understand what I'm saying, because he knows me, what's in all of you, what's the problem, you don't even know what I want to say, okay let's flip it, pass on to the stand up, I mean I shouldn't be the example here, if I'm saying so you believe it, all right so here's the point, can you give you a million, no no no let's forget, can you give you a million now, this weight, you people, so answer this question not based on ability, because let's move ability out, okay, okay, can he,
"Ok, let me put it this way, not can he, because that's a beauty. Will he give you 5 million error?" Passosina. He said no, he was very clear. Why did he say no? Listen, he lost Passosina, he knows Passosina loves him but he knows Passosina is not in a mood to be with him. Do you understand what I'm saying there? The point are you get what I'm saying there. That there is a depth of relationship you have with somebody that you know, that even if they have it they will not. Sometimes it's not just that they can, it's that they will not. Some of you your father will not, your ugly father. I mean of your father's like that, you know that if I go and meet my father, if I go and meet my father, are you following what I've said there? You know he will not give it to you. Why is that the case? The knowledge that you have of him. Somebody get what I'm saying there. My son raised his hand. He knows I won't give him some things in this life. You got him, isn't it? I mean he will not give it to you because of the knowledge that you have of the person. Which means this, hear me, hear me and hear me well. If devotion fails, intercession will fail. No matter the length of time you spend in intercession, it will fail. Because the premise of unsaid prayers that we know he hears it. And we know he hears it. It happens in devotion. If we don't get that we know he hears it. And we just enter into intercession. Now our confidence is not that in he hears it. Our confidence is that, ah, have prayed. Oh God, how can I pray six hours? Are you not hear me? This was happening here. All of a sudden it's not emotionally manipulating God. No! Will you let my cry go? Listen, plenty people have cried. They will rot on the floor. Do you come to say no? They rot and they say oh God. Oh God you're going to answer me. Oh my God, somebody wrote us a Muslims. Oh my God! Should I go eat? And cry and cry. God is God. People, they will eat food, treat God. What has happened is when you don't know he hears it. You will start using every other thing to try to get him to hear you. Everything else, the length of time, the screaming, the rolling on the floor. The tone of the tone is the tone of the tongue. God, we help the body of Christ. You know, I just, I mean the truth of matter is that if you please sit down gentlemen. If you've been around in the body of Christ, you know there's nothing new on that. Is a will that content this where we are now will come back there in 12 years time. Actually, I've noticed in the body of Christ everything goes in a circle of 12 to 20 years. I've noticed. Oh, this place we have come to we've been there. Everything is died out. Then you listen in 12 years time. You remember I told you that, ah, it is that thing. Only that I always comes in a new fashion. But it's the same thing. So you find people today and I see it and I'm asking myself, do you really understand how prayer works? That the prayer that Jesus prayed that God had within seats. There's no record of the prayer that he prayed that he said God has heard me. It is the result of the prayer that we saw. Which means the proof of a prayerful life is not the same one we are seeing you. The proof is the foot. Now we will look at your love and say, ah, no, no, no, no, this is not normal. This is not normal. This is not normal. Are you still here today? Number one is that prayer is a tool of devotion. Let's run very quickly. That means it brings edification and it engenders growth. As we behold him in prayer, we are transformed. As we look on his face in prayer, we are transformed. Number two is that prays a tool for enforcing God's will on earth. Please put back my scripture, Luke 11. I want to show us this very quickly. Our father, which I am at in heaven, is anybody getting anything tonight? Hello, be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth. Do you see the next thing there? Say, with me, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as in heaven, so in earth. So prays a tool for enforcing God's will on earth. That's what we call theologically intercession. That's what theologians, pastors, we call intercession a tool for enforcing God's will on earth. Which means God's will does not happen because God desired it. It happens because men pray it. Even the coming of Jesus, I've shared with you several times, he was predicated on praying men. There was Simon and another prophetess who were praying. Are you following this here? That the will of God is manifested or happens because men and women give themselves to prayer. So the second reason for prayer is the tool for enforcing God's will on earth. And what is the reward and the result we see? We see kingdom advancement. We see the advancement of God's purposes in the lives of people, in nations, in institutions, in families. Is somebody getting what I'm saying here? We see the advancement of God's will. Number three, prays a tool. Please put back my scripture. Put back the scripture. It says that we will be done as in heaven, so in earth. And please leave my scripture. The first three. Go to the first three. Everybody who wants to go, give us, was this. Is this God's will? I can't give you as backslidden. Give us, give us the, I can't give you as backslidden. I can't be saying day by day. That's a life of people. Alright, give, I mean, give us, this day. We are all those who are all these. Alright, it's okay. Let's, let's, I mean things are changing. I mean if you don't take a fee, it's 24th century. Give us, what was this now? Everybody wants to go. Give us, day by day, our words, deliberate. Number three is it's a tool for meeting your needs. Prayer is a tool for meeting your needs. I want to see the structure that Jesus put to prayer. And that structure as well shows the priority, the different areas of priority in prayer. It's, it's a tool for meeting your needs. Which means there will be miracles and provisions. Miracles and provisions. These are the results we should see in your life. We should see a defecation and growth. We should see advancement of God's purposes. We should see miracles and we should see provisions. And then number four, read the next verse, go on with me. Now this is a very important one. And I want to explain this to everybody who wants to go. And forgive us our sins. For we also forgive everyone. Is this King James? Yeah? Please let's go to Matthew. All right, but you get the idea. Go to Matthew six quickly. And that Matthew look is. Look, I'm not feeling you look. What's going on? What happened? My God. La Roattana. Imagine you go before I say, give me a day by day my delivery. Go deep now. Give me this day. You stop at that day before you move on. All right, let's read this together. Give us this day our delivery. zenhyung disagimachlaosisusath aaagatusagare renewed twase i haragate" lesham alang es!) auxe아아 momentah sempre aagatusagare as we forgive our deptos please listen Paul said something very powerful is that we rest do not against flesh and blood but against principalities and power which means the first thing you will think of in spiritual warfare is the human vessels that are presented as the reason for the challenge or the adversity but they are not are you following what I'm saying? so when he's talking about forgivos our deptos leaders not into temptation remember Jesus talked about the hour of temptation and the hour of wickedness in the garden of Getsemane and what was he doing there? spiritual warfare deliver us from what evil is this the power the hour and the power of darkness and then he says for dying is what? the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever number four pray is a tool for spiritual warfare pray is a tool for spiritual warfare and what is the result we see we see we will quench disobedience you quench the disobedience you quench the disobedience
'Kendash' is a very important. 'Kendash' is a very important. He was teaching Jesus. He was expanding about himself. Now, by biogeography, the amounts of Jerusalem was about three and a half hours. I don't know at what point he caught up with them. Maybe 30 minutes into the journey. Maybe one hour. Imagine that there are three hours to share with them. Three hours. Just teaching them. Teaching them. Teaching them. Yet they did not know he was Jesus. Can I ask you a question? Where these are not disciples? How come the disciples could not see the Jesus that worked with them? How come the disciples that stayed with Jesus for three and a half years? Could not tell that they weren't talking to them. Is it that his voice changed? How come they could not see it? Is it not the same person that told them? I give you power of our old devils. Is it not the same person that expanded parables onto them? How come all of a sudden they could not see it? Because you don't hear Jesus. You don't come all of a sudden they could not see it. Because you don't hear Jesus with these ears. Need that do you see Jesus with these eyes? There has to be an unveiling. Are you hearing what I'm saying here? Look how it happens here. After that time of teaching, no light, no revelation, no change. Do you know what would have happened? Did I have started a master class or knowing Jesus? Because nobody in Israel will have the kind of academic knowledge they had about Jesus. They will sit there that disciples that say, "Listen, let me tell you Jesus from Genesis. Let me tell you from Exodus. They will do all of that but they did not know Jesus." The Bible says, "Please sit up and say that Jesus acted as though he was going to walk away." And then they looked and they said, "Jesus, stay with you." "Stay with us these nights." Why are you in a haste? The Bible says, "As Jesus sat down with them and broke bread, communion, prayer, the elements of prayer and fellowship, as he broke bread, the Bible says they are eyes were opened." The Bible looked at it and it came to pass away. They were commune together. They said, "Me commune." It's not in teaching eyes are opened. It's in communion. Somebody follow what I'm saying here. It's not in the teaching. You can be under powerful teaching and your eyes are open. It's in the communion. It says, "It came to pass as it sat at me with them. He took bread and blessed it. It says, "I'm give to them. Look at the next verse quickly." It says, "And they are what eyes were opened. And they not just had him. They knew him." Where does this knowledge come from? Teaching communion. This is why a lot of people know so much, but they don't know him. Because it's in prayer, the prayer of devotion. It's somebody follow what I'm saying here. Look at what he says next. Please tell with me. He says, "Please put that scripture back." He says, "Everybody read and he watched vanished out of their sight, powerful statements. They now did not need the scene of this ice to believe in the integrity of this Jesus. Which means when light comes, are you get what I'm saying here? Prior to that time, they would have. Anybody could have argued with them as I'm not sure. I don't know. If you argue with the academic whatever it is, they would say, "I don't know. I'm not 100 percent sure. Maybe as you're going to study more." But now that their eyes were opened, the Bible says, "I've vanished out of their sight." But tell me what you said to them about Jesus that can shake their confidence in these Jesus. Nothing anymore. That transaction only happens in prayer. No prayer life, no sight. No prayer life, no lights. Is somebody hear what I'm saying? No prayer life, no scene. Continue all your YouTube snippets and everything it does not translate to sight. In fact, it translates to diarrhea. People think their bondance of materials I expose myself to is what generates light. It's not true. Who cooks food by gathering every ingredient in the market? Now tell me who cooks food by gathering every single ingredient and saying "Because of their bondance of ingredients I have, then I will have a good meal." Are you still here tonight? Where does our eyes open in communion? Please move out that scripture. I want to see this. If you've vanished out of their sight, look at the next verse. Everybody read this one to go. This is important. And they said one to another, "Did not our heart burn with Venus?" While he talked, you know that's what a lot of believers have. Eww! My God! Eww! You know the previous generation was right on past thought but we have moved now. Eww! And that eye ends in Chortu. Once they get outside and somebody is fash is water on them. Eww! Did not our heart burn with Venus while he talked with us? By the way, and he opened to us the scriptures. He opened the scriptures yet they did not see him. They only saw him in what communion, not when he was opening scriptures. But when they were communion with him, after you have opened scriptures, go and communion. Did you ever write that? After you have had messaged.
